OC Inspiration Meme!

First of all, thanks @lynxfrost13 for the tag, because finally I have a reason to talk about the origins my characters, SPECIALLY Sasha and Powder. Because I can't talk about their inspirations without bringing up the fact that they're wildly different from their first iterations.

(Warning: lots of yapping, potentially long, Also, I added songs and animals because personally they're a bigger inspirartion for me than existing characters).

When I said Powder was a loser, I man a legitimate, actual certified girlfailure (current Powder at the very least is competent at her job), who kept her cool composture until she mets in the mines with this particular unnamed mynah and cries in her arms. That's it.

...ok she's still like that, but now she has more nuance, I think.

Like, she keeps up an cool and overconfident facade, it's quick to make bad choices, and being aloof when things go wrong (like Morganite from hnk and the song "Nothing Man"), but it comes from a place of worthlessnes and wanting to be useful for the others (Powder from Arcane, which YEAH I stole her name, NO the bangs are a coincidence that I'm just noticing I swear-).

She's like a dog, but those "scary dogs" that area actually quite playful or Police dogs that fail their training (I visualize her as a doberman with cropped ears but an long tail, to be specific), and most of her character can be summarized with the songs "Fighter" and "Two Time".

Sasha came to be because one day I asked to myself: "What if a MNHR unit was a total party animal and loved drinking?" And then I came up with this silly, but also very messed up story for her (which is why DRHDR is listed as an inspiration).

A Mynah got decomissioned, survived, and it's found by this pair of gestalts that have a shady bussiness selling metals and other usable stuff from scrapped/stolen goods. They go "HELL YEAH FREE MANPOWER!!" and kinda adopt her. Eventually she starts trusting them, opens up and develops the personality of a loud but well meaning teeneager with dark humor, who also does a bit of organ harvesting (because, well, "scrapped goods" also includes other decomissiones replikas...)

Nowadays she's waaay more chill (like, literally none of the previous characterization applies anymore) and her arc is more about grieving your past self in face of new discoveries that shatter your previous beliefs, as well as figuring out your identity with being "reborn" into someone new (Inspired by Phosphophyllite from hnk as well as the song "Still Feel" by Half Alive).

Bottom left is a double feature, both for the lyrics of "The Unknowing" (in a way that she tries to move on with her life, but she feels haunted by memories from her gestalt donor and the implications of such); as well as the cover art. She's pretty much like a cat, but those that are shy and hide behind furniture until strangers leave, so it takes time to gain their trust, similarly to how she keeps most people at arm's length.

I wonder if the lunarians can predict when a gem is gonna emerge somehow.. Not that i see the point of them getting rid of old goshe and morga but the coincidence of the same exact same gems emerging after they're gone is really big...

With Big Brother 

Anyone else notice New Morganite’s ponytail went from the top of their head to the bottom??? And now looks similar to Max’s????? I sure did. 

Anyway I imagine that New Morga looks up to the elder sibling Maxixe, especially since they’re both Beryls. Max doesn’t mind, especially with someone actually wanting to interact with them for longer than a day. This is them going to break the ice floes in the latest chapter, as Maxixe isn’t exactly going to sleep any time soon no matter how tired they are. Plus the threat of Lunarians coming now is really low. Maybe be a contributing member of society for once yes. Young Nice Gem has asked to be carried because they want to be with big brother???? Only if Young Nice Gem carries both saws.

Can you write something where baby goshe walks in on morganite and goshenite havibg sex?

....this is...raaaandom???? i’ve...never gotten a request like THIS before but alright then?? human au cause fuck it. goshe and morga are bout 14 in this. also decided to give some human names so i’m not confusing everyone.

morga 2.0 = megan

morganite = morgan

goshenite = gen

goshe = goshe ‘consider it a nickname’

“c’mooon meg’s.” goshe ushered as they opened the door. “we’ll call your big sib here it’ll be fine.”

“it’s just, i-i dunno.” they stuttered out as they walked in past goshe. “i mean, did they know we were going to the skate park? what if they got taken or, just, did they lose their phone? i know they don’t answer it often but still i mean-”

goshe slammed the door a bit harder then anticipated and patted the younger’s head. “it’s alriiiight. i’m sure gen probably knows where they are. their both basically surgically attatched to the hip.”

“y-yeah yeah they-...wait what?”

“just go to my room i’ll call my sib and they’ll know what to do.” they ushered meg, who nodded as they walked off. goshe soon dialed their number, soon they could hear gen’s phone going off somewhere in the house. “huh, their home, weird.” they mumbled as they walked down the hall to their room’s door. without any thought they opened it.

“ey dude gen you know where-” they paused as they heard two shrieks. looking they saw gen alright, along with...morgan? in bed??

“G-GOSHE W-”

“GET OUT!” they felt a pillow hit them in the face which they quickly shook off and looked to morgan who threw it. “ey! you should’ve picked up your phone we had to walk all the way back here you meanie!”

“huh?!”

“morgs!?”

“well..i mean...i thought it was something else.”

“goshe what’s going on h-” megan soon walked in seeing them all, their face getting redder then usual as they looked away. “oh...so that’s why you didn’t hear my call.”

“ey gen does this mean morgan and megan are our new step sibs? or wait would that make me and meg’s cousins?”

“this is why we go to your place morg’s.”
