God, Viktor looks so good, makes my trans heart happy. The cloth over his shoulder is related to his bartending job, suggesting its important. What my eyes were drawn to though is the emoji. OURGHHH Yomi. Okay this is gonna be a lot but lets-a go yahoo

Alright first off, first impression of him.

His introduction was literally golden. From his and Martina's Akira reference to Yomi fake-sobbing before coldly ordering Seth to be executed. I was kicking my feet. He immediately shot to my top favorite (before being kicked down again by Yuma and Makoto) but I absolutely enjoyed what an evil little gremlin he was from the very beginning. Honestly, one of the best introductions of a villain I've ever seen.

Next, headcanons. I think he was a theatre kid in high school. I'm saying this from experience. Every theatre kid goes through a little phase where they're evil and flamboyant it comes with the title. Yomi's just went on a little too long, silly silly boy. OH and I think he has chew toys. Being evil is stressful he's gotta chew on smth or else he'll just take it out on an underling, yk?

As for complaints and praise... weeeell, I thought his takedown was a little... anti-climatic? Like on the one hand, I'm very happy for Martina to get to send him to jail. You go girl. But also, he just sorta... accepts being arrested? I wanted him to resist more. Kicking scratching and screaming, yk?? He did a little of that but not much. And I wish we'd seen him in the epilogue, maybe as a small little shot of him in jail being all pouty. As for praise, I really love how fun-to-hate he is. The game makes it very clear he's horrible and you can't really sympathize with him, but also, he's just so fun to watch. Like. What's wrong with him *twirls hair*

Favorite pairing, hmmmmmmmmmm. Initially it was Makoyomi, but rn it's a three-way tie between Makoyomi, Yomiakou, and Hellxander. These dynamics are all just... really fascinating in all honesty. I want to study them. I'm so glad this fandom enjoys toxic yaoi I think I would go insane if there wasn't a plethora of content for these weirdos.

And finally, my overall opinion. He's my wife. My evil scrunkly meow meow. I'm gonna put a collar on him and cook him a yummy dinner while he's chained to a chair. Also his English VA is amazing and did a wonderful job making Yomi iconic, I'm planning on playing Raincode again but with JP voices to compare. He's the silliest villain I've ever seen. They did a great job with his writing, I think. He just, immediately grabs you- and when you look deeper into him it's genuinely so interesting and fun.

OKAY NOW FOR SHIPS.

Yomi x Seth is definitely an interesting ship for me. I don't actively think about it but when I come across content of them, my brain goes "fuck yeah". Sadly their interactions don't give us much to go off of as much as other pairs, but it's always a joy to see.

Hellxander. My beloved. Finding Fake!Zilch in the factory and hearing him ramble about Yomi was eye opening. Kodaka did not need to have that in there but it's there and it's amazing. I wish Yomi had a line or something about Zilch, I want to know how he feels about the guy. Was it a parasocial type of thing??? Was Yomi leading him along??? Please Kodaka. Yomi DLC where we visit Kanai Ward and Yomi is doing community service and having flashbacks to his old gay lover Hitman and he cries in the rain "I hate that ugly bowl cut detective!!!!!!! Curse you Yuma the Kokohead!!!!!!!"

Fake!Zilch x Seth isn't something I've ever really thought about, but I can kinda see a dynamic there. Frail little guy x tough hitman? Yeah that's certainly a good dynamic. I just don't know if this particular case would really... grab me?

And Yomi x Fake!Zilch x Seth... yeah I think that's just torture for Seth. Which is fine I like torturing the guy. I can definitely see Yomi being like "lol that seth guy is soooo funny to torment" and zilch is like "do you want me to torment him director yomi. Anything for you director yomi" and Seth is like "can I please just do my job. Please. Please"

Nezha's fight against that one dragon oh no so they're keeping that plot line, I mean of course they are. Nezha's story is so dark tho, its def implied they're keeping the whole thing I think. Not and LBD jumpscare...I thought that was Princess Iron Fan on my first watch whoops. but hello??? She was part of the Celestial Realm at first??? HMMMMM. well that definitely doesn't make things all the more suspicious. It's kind of funny how much they talk about Monkey King being MK's dad bc the writers are fully aware of what the fandom might think, or was thinking before anyways, but they confirmed it on twitter that's not the case. I just checked ep 6 and its got a nice fun cliffhanger for you to chew on. build up expectations and ideas.

A friend you say? Hmmm

Arguably, every listener deals with self-loathing in some kind of way. And their respective partners (or friend group in Freelancer's case) comfort them.

On the opposite side, you have Lasko and his listener in the wonder of reverse comfort. But your friend (👀) is searching for soft comfort specifically.

Gavin is gonna take the crown. He's pretty versatile and tends to be a personality chameleon. Plus if you look at the DAMN group, he tends to comfort Lasko in his own way by pulling Lasko out of bad spiraling thoughts by flirting. Freelancer tends to be more reserved when it comes to opening up about things they're dealing with and wants to constantly take on other's burdens. Just the fact that he tends to be surrounded with people on a spectrum of shy/anxious and self loathing individuals points towards understanding how to best comfort them. He has a lot of social awareness to understand that what might work for one person, won't work for another. (I love Gavin.)

(Caelum would work too, but he's the obvious choice since his entire existence basically revolves around comforting people and loosening knots. Only problem would be that no one but other d(a)emons and FL can see/hear him O.O So depending on the usage of this information that may or may not be important.)

Below the cut are my reasons for ruling out the other characters if you're interested.

I'm gonna have to eliminate Asher, David, and Milo (purely because their listeners seem outgoing.) Sweetheart could be shy, but that's just because I have a headcanon that since they're a stealth, they're so used to hiding as much as they can even when they're not thinking about it. But that's not canon (*yet*) All we got is that when they're in flight or fight mode, they tend to cloak without trying.

Sam could be a good contender since he's so gentle and comforts Darlin when they start trashing on themselves. Honestly he's probably a runner up to Gavin. But I can't label him the softest because of Gavin's existence. But for whatever reason your friend (I'm not buying it sorry lol) needs this and Gavin just doesn't quite fit the slot, I would go for Sam.

Vincent is slutty. Nah, I'm kidding. Vincent seems more easy at comforting after something happens. Through no fault of his own. The comfort audios we get are always after an event happens that Lovely is struggling to cope afterwards, versus in the middle of something. He does have that awareness that apologizing for it doesn't always help, so kudos to him.

Aaron is also really socially aware, but he relies so heavily on communication to understand a situation (which is good. Communication is healthy) that it might be difficult for him to comfort someone who is shy. We all know that Smartass isn't shy around him, so we haven't really seen him comforting them because of something. *that I know of. I need to relisten to his playlist soon. I miss him.* He did a good job comforting Elliot, but Elliot also seems kind of outgoing. I wouldn't call him shy.

Ollie is a sweetheart. But in all honesty I've only listened to his first two audios so I don't really know much about him O.O

Vega... It's Vega. He'd manipulate you into feeling better, but only on his terms and when it benefits him. I love him.

Regulus... No. Obvs.

Blake could be good at it since he's a yandere so he's pretty into knowing all your details. He would know how best to comfort you because he knows you so well. But he wouldn't be the softest to anyone who isnt his darling, so if that's who this shy/anxious self loathing person is then Blake is off the table. He's pretty single minded.

Guy would be amazing at cheering someone up. But we're looking for soft. Not energetic cheering up. Vulnerable soft Guy in his confession audio holds a special place in my heart though. But his "sleep aid" proved that the best thing when you're trying to calm down is have him go to a far away restaurant to retrieve food.

Avior is a tricky one. So many of his audios were him putting up a front to keep Starlight at arms length. Then afterwards it was most reverse comfort from how I saw it. So Idk how he would be. There's not a lot of evidence in my perspective to make a clear decision.

Ivan - Same deal as with Avior. Not enough objective evidence. First he's a scary kidnapper and then he's begging to try his old relationship again. No comfort stuff really.

Morgan would be great with a reclusive person. (Since I think that's what his listener is? His voice always puts me to sleep. But I'm not sure entirely since I always fall asleep hehe)

Lasko did pretty well at comforting FL after the Kody incident, but his panic in wanting to make people feel better wouldn't make him a good contender. Sorry Lasky.

Kody is a wet noodle.

Huxley would be good at it, but I can see him struggling to find the words he wants to use. Hugs are great and he seems like he is soft with people in a more touchy manner. Depending on the person that can be good. But if you're like me and get uncomfortable when people touch you and you just like the idea of physical contact, then he wouldn't be the top choice.

Damien would kind of be like Guy in the way he could cheer you up, but it wouldn't be soft. As much as he hates it, the first reaction he has is to protect which can get him heated. Not the most calming presence. Plus he's not the most socially aware.

Geordi... it depends if they're in his head. He tries to choose his words very carefully, but he's naturally a very anxious person as well. Their anxiety could feed off of his and then we have another Lasko situation.

Brachium is another pretty good choice. Only problem is he's difficult to reach so he would be difficult to give comfort. But his voice and aura are very calming if a bit somber. He is pretty good at being soft with Sunshine with his "little one"s and such. I love him, he's such a dad.

Cam is kind of like Caelum in the way he would be very good at it. Plus he's obvious. But he's overworked. Let him sleep TT-TT

James is too analytical and focused on saving the world and getting back home. Soft isn't the word I would use for him.

Anton... same vibes as Brachium. He's soft but somber.

Marcus is whiny.

Brian is grumpy. Plus there's no evidence for him.

Quinn would be shit at it obvs.

Echo would just snap his fingers and make you more anxious. He finds that shit funny.

Timothy is not a movie star. Bones & All proved that after his fans were making fun of Tom's Uncharted movie on twitter. Bones & All even had the benefit of Thanksgiving weekend & still flopped. I think there is some truth to what Rachel Green said about the era of the movie star being dead. But unlike Tarantino, it isn't the fault of Marvel. This problem predates the MCU. I could go back to the YA era in Hollywood. Except for Jennifer Lawrence, most of the leads in those movies were never able to have a box office smash on their own. People saw Twilight for the books that were already popular. I also get the feeling that the audience wants escapist movies more than boring Oscar baits. We just came out of a pandemic and the last thing people need is to watch some pretentious stuff. You see how all the blockbusters walked away with atleast one Oscar this year while stuff like Tar went home empty handed?

Hmmm....Idk Anon.... Are we really using B&A (an indie movie about cannibalism trying to disguise itself as a "love story") as the barometer for Timmy's star status and ability to put butts in seats?? 🥴

Idk Anon.... I'm not too sure any actor would have been able to have a large opening for a film like that lol. It's just the nature of the film. 🤷🏾‍♀️ Plus, I honestly didn't see much hype for it. I also don't think it was a film that was expecting a huge box-office in the first place. Some films (believe it or not lol) are NOT made for box-office "numbers" or to "break records". SOME films really are just made to tell a story, or to get a director's creativity out there. I think way too many people put way too much emphasis on the box office numbers or how "successful" a film is monetarily-speaking, when the reality is, maybe Timmy did this film simply because he wanted to challenge himself or do something different for a change? 🤷🏾‍♀️

RE: Jennifer Lawrence, et al.... I think at the end of the day we have to realize that some people just have that "it factor" or "star quality", and others don't? Sometimes it could just be how their managers are handling their career, and other times it's more so the projects they're choosing, etc. Not every actor is going to be a "box office buster" and that's OKAY! Not every actor out here can be a Tom Cruise, or a Will Smith, and that's okay! It would be boring actually if EVERY single actor out here were a box-office mogul. 😅🤣

RE: Twilight... I do feel that anyone in those roles would have become popular simply because the BOOKS were so popular among the masses. Because maybe like they don't get what the Metatron is. It's not another angel. It is literally the Voice of God. In traditional Christian teaching, a human cannot hear God's voice or it will kill them because the voice is so powerful. So when God needs to speak, it's through an intermediary like a burning bush or something. Or specifically The Metatron. (This may come from Judaic tradition, but I can't speak to that. But I went to seven years of Catholic school.)

So here's the thing. Yeah Aziraphale became disillusioned by Heaven and the bureaucracy of it. And maybe a little with God's Plan, especially from the Job thing.

But he didn't stop being an angel. He didn't stop believing in and worshiping God.

So imagine you quit your job because the board of directors is constantly making bad decisions and giving you terrible orders, but you still believe in the company and the CEO (who is in a coma or something.) And then the CEO wakes up and comes to you and is like "Hey we got rid of all those other people who didn't get the mission, but YOU, you truly have the right idea, please come back and fix it."

Of course you're at least going to consider it.

And when that person who comes to you is LITERALLY GOD? Is speaking for God himself at least? Aziraphale would have had to have truly fallen to reject it. And he didn't. He wasn't a demon. He was just an angel who disagreed with current management.

And maybe that's really the difference. A demon is someone who wouldn't drop everything if God invited them back, who wouldn't renounce their rebellion. (But also probably a demon has seen a lot more of the nasty side of God/Heaven.)

Anyway, I just saw something and was like...wait really are people surprised? As soon as the Metatron showed up I was like oh SHIT WAIT.

Yeah, Foolish and Dream are related in tiny mer au; Foolish is a shark mer that is also a sizeshifter but unlike Bad that he's human sized mer and can grow to 60ft tall mer, Foolish is a 4'5 inches tall mer that can only grow to human size.

But what will happen when Karl founds one of that berries and accidentally eat it, just to be able to understand the fairies not much later? >:]

Quackity probably reluctantly hands George something he really likes, saying it's from Dream, who wanted Quackity to give it to him since he didn't want to get anywhere near George. It would also change when Quackity reveals that Dream is actually only 16 and that he has only been trying to kill a kid...

George and Dream's relationship? Well, George would actually try to get closer to Dream but the human would only panic trying to get away from him, hiding behind Sapnap, Quackity or Punz (yeah, Punz and him are friends when this happens), but time to time Dream starts trusting George (slowly but he starts). Also because probably Sapnap and Quackity told him that George is trying to change and apologize to him.

We get a blurry look at some minis. I’m seeing at least the PC’s minis, as well as what looks like Baxter the Gryphon.

There’s some major shots of this battle. Includes a Baby mini, the Hangvan with some kind of laser canon on top, a stingray-esque monster that is likely Night Yorb (see below), something that looks like maybe an ice elemental or the crystal (see below), and some large bugs and shirtless people. Clearly set in the Red Wastes. Detailed info of the planning for this battle below.

One of the shots had reference boards in the background. One is clearly for the Hangvan (see earlier screencaps), but the other is unclear. It looks like it includes some sort of tennis or tennis-adjacent sport.

Hmmm what if to show the good vs bad sides of technology you could show the fantasy world still severely affected by things we take for granted due to lack of medical advances? Ex, lots of people don't know their mothers because Death By Childbirth is routine, children aren't even named until they reach a certain age because it's expected they'll just die without formula, common ailments eradicated in sci fi are rampant and dangerous. Which leads to sci fi world's invasion for resources bc

Imagine the fantasy people looking at the sci-fi ones like they're fucking ancient beings cuz they can live up to more than a century potentially, also would be a really neat explanation as to why most people in FE are either orphans or their parents are unkown!

Also another neat foil would be something akin to healthcare in the fantasy world vs sci-fi, where the fantasy world is much better at providing first aid thanks to staves being able to patch wounds and heal from poison aliments but the sci-fi tech healthcare is far more proficient in the long-term, treating illnesses that the fantasy world would consider fatal as well as aiding with disabilities like, say, a missing limb...

And combined they would be wonderful. Problem is that, of course, the sci-fi healthcare tech is extremely privatized by the corporation and pretty much inaccessible to anyone who's not "worthy" (AKA privleged and filthy rich)

(but also as you said illnesses that are common in the fantasy would likely ravage the sci-fi population and vice versa, which is one of the big consequences of colonization)



Also for a more poetical moment, the sci-fi people who landed on the fantasy world as their first foreign planet being in awe at being able to actually see the stars since there's no light pollution⭐

Or the fantasy people being equally in awe about the existence of other worlds! Even if they are finding out in the worst possible way.
