Ennard pulls this stunt every once in a while—with varying degrees of success. Eventually it basically becomes a game between the two of them to see how long Ennard can get away with not being noticed. Michael eventually stops really caring, but it does tend to creep out the rest of the Aftons, lol.

i always bounced off the "she was a halla and he was a wolf 🥺" or "she's sooo mild and innocent and he's a hardened stoic morally grey immortal" version of solavellan, bc firstly that is generically heterosexual in a way that i find silly. and secondly the timeline is just. SO wild.

from lavellan's perspective they're like "hm this guy saved my life from the anchor! cool. a very knowledgeable and skilled mage. he's a bit annoying about the dalish but i do like our talks. we've been through some pretty scary life or death situations together. he seems kind of mysterious or depressed at times, i wonder what's going on there. but we have been flirting a bit... maybe i can go for 1 (one) kiss and see what happens 🤔"

this is very normal. this isn't notably "✨such a pure and gentle soul that has won the heart of the ancient bloody-handed trickster✨" behaviour, they're actually acting in a fairly regular way as someone who has a crush.

but by the point lavellan makes any move at all, from solas' perspective. he is already Dying Internally. he is Pining. when lavellan shoots their shot, he's already reached the level of "meeting you has changed my whole life and worldview, i don't know how to handle it," and presumably has restrained himself from saying anything to them only through pure stoicism and willpower. millennia of insurgency and political experience, all bent onto the task of Acting Normal Around Lavellan. he's halfway about to blurt out a love confession if they reciprocate the feelings at all.

his entire plan for however many eons was to NOT get overly attached to any single person and risk his trolley problem calculations and schemes for them, but within like 4-6 months of hanging out with this random, somewhat curious mortal, he's considering telling them everything and/or giving up the plan entirely. truly cringe fail.

sending love to all fic writers out there <3 I'm deleted bookmarks on ao3 for works that have been deleted and it is HAUNTING. A total of 37 of my bookmarks are deleted works. many were in the 1-5 chapter range, most were under 10. I didn't note that they were finished so they were probably stories just getting off the ground, that didn't get to see their peak no matter how great of a premise they had. I only know this because I use my bookmarks like I'm meant to subscribe to works. I record what chapter I left off reading on in the notes (on priv).

There was one that i had noted left on a hiatus. There was another that I noted was being rewritten, I hope its thriving out there anew <3

There's one that was deleted ongoing with 29 chapters.

There's one deleted that was finished at a whopping 41 chapters.

Anyways, this is my little grieving love letter to authors out there <3 you're writing is so important and I understand any reason you may have for deleting it but your work wasn't in vain and it was loved.

as a certified Diagnosed Autist(TM) i cannot stress enough that i am not only pro- self-diagnosis, but also pretty anti- legal medical diagnosis. it is, at best, a cruel hoop we have to jump through so privileged people will deign to give us what we need. don't fucking do that shit unless you have to, it was disgustingly expensive, fucking humiliating, infantilizing, and dehumanizing, and would probably actively cause problems in my life if i didn't have some really good allistic (-passing) people in my corner and also wasn't so fucking disabled that it mostly doesn't matter.

literally get that diagnosis if you need it for job/school accessibility shit or SSI or whatever, and otherwise dont tell the government SHIT about yourself. there is zero good reason for them to want that information. that's between you and the people you want in your life.

Regarding F!Odile being a little shit and providing Too Many Potatoes: do you think, since the Cooks don't fight, that C!Siffrin's bits of availability to attack or heal have a Random chance of them figuring out how to make an ACTUAL potato bomb and throwing it at the King?

T!Mira doesn't even realize it's a thing until she does all of the side quests, and C!Sif is so fed up with F!Odile's shit that he whips up a potato bomb and chucks it at the King about halfway through the fight. Makes her laugh really hard and everyone else can't help but follow suit. So say there's like a 20% chance of it happening and it only happens if all the friend quests are done. Which means it isn't very predictable, and every time it happens its extremely entertaining for all of them.

I see absolutely no reason why C!Siffrin and the gang can't get a potato bomb to throw at the King. Honestly the funniest stunt C!Siffrin could do! also implies that Sif was carrying a bag of potatoes throughout the House??? So when the gang collect all the bomb parts, Siffrin sidles up like "lemme make one adjustment" and powers it with wishcraft and potatoes. But only sometimes! As all good Siffrin events need to be randomized and unlikely, to make things more interesting Put it this way! It would be very funny and I am here for the sheer ludicrousness of the King being blasted by smoking potatoes XD And it would instantly boost the morale of everybody in the room

So, to make this post, I reread all the parts of the Archer Au to try and find something to quote, to say, to show everyone how amazing and beautiful and heart-rending this story is.

And then reread it again, and again, and still couldn't pick out one passage over any of the others, because every word and every drawn line of it is a masterpiece!

Which everyone* involved in making the Archer Au fucking did an absolutely phenomenal job on, Holy! Fucking!! SHIT!!! And also ow!

I don't think Fabian would be normal about wine. Actually. Yeah no sorry. Alcohol in general maybe but not wine. Yeah this is NEVER even hinted at and it doesn't seem to matter. I know. The growing up with a neglectful substance abusing parent situation is weird and complicated, but I think about it a certain way and I think Fabian would too. I think Fabian loves his mother, and I think he wants to respect her. I also think one of the first things he remembers associating with her as child is her wine, that he thought of her when he smelled it because that's what she smelled like. I think he is nineteen years old now and somewhere at some point it clicked that that shouldn't have been the main thing, not with his mother, but it always was. He's not necessarily bothered by that but something is off.

Weird topic for a tumblr post. Obviously this is not universal but if I were to put it into words it's that you don't think about it too much until you do, and then it's weird. It's not even upsetting most of the time it just feels weird. Because it's not like it made them do anything bad but it was a distraction and somewhere you're mad and somewhere you love your parent and somewhere you think it's not their fault because addiction is horrible and somewhere you question if they were really addicted or just didn't feel like stopping and then you feel bad for wondering, and then you're mad again, and then somewhere in there you don't even care that much? It wasn't that big of a deal. It's just that you try, eventually, and then you're like. Okay. I don't get why this was more important than me? And that's fucked. Because you still live in the same house. And then you look at your mother. And you think you might understand her a little less with every day you spend growing up.

On Fabian. This post is about Fabian. It's not like a big thing, idk. It's just a passive dislike of it. An avoidance he's not aware of, and then he becomes aware of it and stops avoiding it, and then he feels a little bothered. It's oh, they didn't fully get rid of the stash Hallariel had, just moved it. He knows and he kind of ignores it, because there is nothing else to do? (She seems to know as well but she doesn't seem particularly tempted nowadays. For how long it went on she took quitting comparatively well. She is immortal, so maybe it wasn't that long to her? Was that really just one big bender? Could she have stopped whenever she wanted to?) (What a weird question to ask.)

And then it's oh, Fig is talking about some elvish wine her mother brought and the brand sounds so familiar. She says it tastes nice? Alcohol doesn't usually taste good, and you don't drink it for the taste you drink it to get drunk, anyway. He thinks that's odd but he doesn't say anything. Later he thinks about how he's never had wine before. (Because he doesn't drink outside of parties. And wine at parties is weird. So if he's getting drunk ((because that's what you do with alcohol)) at a party ((because that's what you do at parties)) he's not getting drunk on wine.) (If his insight was better maybe something would click but it isn't, so it doesn't.) At their next movie night at mordred manor someone offers him a sip so he takes one.

It's sweet and then it's bitter. He doesn't really like it, but then he doesn't dislike it either. He thinks it's okay, but he wonders if this is the right brand because surely this could not have been worth it.

He doesn't say anything about it but the next time he sees his mother something feels kind of off, and he never seeks it out himself but if someone offers him wine he always says yes. He never develops a taste for it but part of him wishes he would. And that's weird. He doesn't get why he's so weird about it.

As with most of these things, he doesn't talk about it. It'd be weird to talk about. It's weird to be typing out. Headache.
