Turtle the Seawing

You know, even though I am sad that animus magic isn’t around anymore, I honestly wouldn’t have hated if this had been the actual reason it disappeared. There’s something poetic about the universe keeping a cosmic balance. Nothing comes for free. There is always a price to pay and the price of animus magic is the warping and devouring of the soul of those who use it and once that balance was disrupted it fades away. Animus magic kind of started off as this mysterious/sinister power and while I do like that it is played off as just another inheritable trait I also think it should be remain weird and mysterious and sinister.

If you put a gun to my head, I could not tell you how The Hive Queen begins or ends. I think it might still be my personal least favorite.

Which is not to say that it's bad. If anyone loves this book in particular, I'm genuinely interested why.

Snow Unicorn [CLAIMED]: a mysterious dragon roams the coldest parts of the ice kingdom, rumored to only appear during harsh blizzards. Many have attempted to seek them out to no avail. A strange magic seems to emanate from their horn.

Bleeding Tooth [CLAIMED]: at a distance they may appear like a dragon covered in rubies or the victim of a ferocious attack. In reality, these red droplets are a noxious poison that oozes from gaps between their scales. It doesn't hurt them, they just find it really annoying.

Death's Head [CLAIMED]: hatched under two full moons, this unlucky dragon's powers relate only to death. Visions reveal the ways in which everyone they met will die, with nothing they can do to change that. On the flip side, mind reading alerts them of anyone plotting murder at that moment, so that's something.

RULES:

first come first serve, just send me an ask (off anon) (not DMS, not comments, not reblogs) asking for whichever unclaimed adopt you want.

you can change some aspects of the design to fit your style or tastes better, as long as it's still recognizable as the same design, nothing too drastic

please dont sell them as soon as you got them considering you got them free. wait a while (i say... maybe a month) and you can trade them for other characters however, just not money

Tribes I picked for them and why under the cut ✨

Let’s start with everyone’s favorite neglectful headmage

Crowley: Nightwing! Mostly for color ngl. He doesn’t get any cool Nightwing powers (mind reading or future sight) he doesn’t DESERVE them.

Vargas: Mud/Sky hybrid! Partly for color but also because they’re the two most physically strong tribes, and I felt that fit Vargas very well.

Crewel: Hive/silk hybrid! Another one mostly for color, cause I wanted a semi pepper moth look, well also not going the easy rout of making him either a rainwing or Night/ice hybrid. If Silkwings could have black in their color pallets naturally he’d be pure silk, but alas. Although I do love the hivewing face for him. I think it fits. (Also added in him having like- moth floof because yes!)

Sam: Mudwing!!! Nearly made him a rainwing or a rain/mud. BUUUTTT because mudwings are based off crocs/gators (can’t remember which I think croc but oh well) it felt like pure Mud fit him just a bit better. If that makes sense? And I KNOW mudwings don’t have purple in their color pallets, but we can all pretend it’s paint or tattoos or something.

Trein: Icewing! I had two reason for this, one being he has a resting grumpy face, because I think the overall sharper design of icewings fit that well, and two color pallet yet again.

Lady Mayfly, my OC!

Adopted her on Reddit (their user is in the info below: her art is 100% based on their design. All the credit, they’re great to adopt from.)

Name: Mayfly Age: 14 Tribe: HiveWings Bio: Mayfly is the daughter of Lady Vinegaroon, the oldest of seven. She is a sculptor for Queen Wasp, carving her statues out of fine wood. She wears lots of wooden bead necklaces that she carves for herself out of spare material she doesn’t use in her sculptures. They are popular among HiveWings because of how rare wood is in Pantala, but she doesn’t sell them. At the age of eight, she married a noble named Phasmid, and they had a dragonet called Leafcutter. Her husband is cold and angry most of the time, but she loves Leafcutter very much. He is very anxious and shy. Her personality is polite and proper, but she is kind overall.

I love her and she’s in my self-indulgent OC fic!

Moonwatcher the Nightwing
