Ramuda secretly runs one of those Twitter accounts that take pictures of their mochis/nuis in different irl settings!!! He MAKES little outfits for a nui of you and is so proud of all of them.

For every little cafe he goes to he always makes sure to take a pic that implies cute little nui of you is the one that just demolished 3 pieces of cake.

Ichiro: honestly probably wouldn’t allow himself to date anyone until saburo graduates college. Unless of course, before that, his bros push him to date because they’re worried about him being lonely but they don’t want him to be happy I mean have friends I mean uh get jealous easily so I wouldn’t count on that :/. Other than that he’d make a really attentive and fun boyfriend who would always put you first but not before his brothers. Kuko is best to be his bf just sayin

Jiro: while dating he’d be really shy about it and would probably be a huge dork but definitely good at protecting them and they would have a good time.

The phone Kuko's going through is definitely yours though. Who knows how he even got into your phone, but he's on it! Thing is, due to his principles, he wasn't even on your phone to dig up dirt. He was just curious to see what you have in it. Curiosity kills the cat, I guess.

Whenever the two of you do have sex, you like recording it to show Jyushi later. You like teasing him with these videos even if Jyushi already knows that you were recording it in the first place. But when he rewatches them, he gets embarrassed, saying stuff like, "I-I can't believe I act like that!"

Once Kuko finds out, he confronts the two of you. He's yelling at Jyushi about how his image of him has been tainted, but he's also congratulating him as he smacks his back. i can see it starting with jiro getting a lil crush on jyushi after they hang out a few times when jyushi's out in ikebukuro for a gig with his band. friend dates (going to look at guitars, checking out casual food places that aren't fast food bc jyushi gets enough of that at work, maybe jiro even inviting jyushi to his final school cultural festival since jyushi just happens to be in the area) that jiro eventually realizes he sort of... maybe... wants to be real dates?

so after getting a lot of advice (from friends and ichiro but specifically not saburo because jiro is wise enough by now to know saburo will probably only mess with him lol) jiro works up the nerve to confess! i think he's a pretty confident guy so i imagine him being pretty straightforward about it and not minding that kuko is, like, also there at the time. he's probably even a bit glad he found jyushi with kuko on the day because the last thing he wants is for jyushi to feel cornered

but when jiro manages to get that "so i kind of... like you... like you like you... and would really like to get to know you better in a, uh, dating sort of way" talk out, kuko (before jyushi can do anything besides turn super red) is like "??? did u just hit on my boyfriend in front of me lmao"

and jiro is like "whhhaaOH my god i had no idea i'm sorry" and sort of thinking why did ichiro encourage him to confess if jyushi was not single?? well he will soon learn that ichiro had no idea and IN FACT

anyway basically. kuko thought they were already dating but literally no one else in the world, not even jyushi, had any idea lmao. i think jyushi does have (complicated) feelings for kuko at this point, and if kuko hadn't been there when jiro confessed, jyushi might have very awkwardly and apologetically turned him down even though he's come to think jiro is also super cool

like i think what's fascinating about evil moon to me is the work jyushi will have to do to figure out what his feelings for kuko (and hitoya as well) really are. like his journey to realizing they are his dear friends, and he's not solely grateful to have them as savior-figures in his life

i think jyushi would feel such overwhelming gratitude towards both of them that it's at first difficult for him to tell if it's really anything other than gratitude (and respect and such) that he feels for kuko. like does he like kuko or is he just grateful for kuko's help and presence in his life. further complicating this is i'm sure he still thinks kuko is kind of scary sometimes lol

with just the two of them i feel like it could very well be a case of kuko realizing how jyushi feels before jyushi fully realizes it himself, and through some not-straightforward-enough conversation kuko comes to think they are dating while jyushi is still clueless

ANYWAY. back to 2 evil 2 moon

i think jiro would be like "oookay it sounds like you guys have a lot to talk about so i'm gonna bounce" and just leave them to it for a while. he probably feels rejected and that stings a bit, but also he's a strong kid and there's clearly something going on there that he is not a part of

UNTIL i'm imagining a while later (few weeks?) kuko drags jyushi out to the yamada house to find jiro and be like "SO we've been talking, this dummy realizes we have been dating now and we aren't breaking up but would you like to date both of us"

(ichiro in the background is like wtf?? did my ex just ask my baby brother out??? maybe he is busy on the phone with samatoki otherwise i feel like he would be throwing hands about this lol)

i feel like jiro would take a bit to think about it then eventually get back to them like "ok let's try" because he does really like jyushi and also thinks kuko is really cool, and obviously a good guy bc ichiro is such good friends with him, and if one boyfriend is great isn't two boyfriends even better (jiro sweetie...... i lov u)

and then it goes well! i think the main issue to arise (i've talked about this before) is someone (probably saburo, who'll feel really bad about it afterwards, or maybe one of jiro's friends who makes a joke in poor taste) teasing jiro for dating ichiro's ex, like joking that he's taking the whole looking up to his big bro and trying to emulate him thing too far

(same as when jiro/nemu occurs in a ichi/sama world, which i mean. obviously is every world to me)

that's something i think would be interesting for jiro to grapple with, to kind of doubt himself at one point but realize on the other side that it's not about wanting to be like ichiro, he genuinely has feelings for jyushi and also kuko now

ALSO since i am fond of both i do not imagine 2 evil 2 moon and jiro/nemu have to be mutually exclusive, i feel like this could very well become a beautiful poly situation way down the line where nemu gets to be like "yeah this is my boyfriend jiro, and those are his boyfriends kuko and jyushi, and also this is his little brother saburo who lives with us because he can't be trusted to remember to eat if he lives alone"

one of my favorite things about hypmic is how integral hair colors are to the character design. their hair colors all mean something and they’re so deliberate.

yamada brothers all have black hair to match their normal ass names and remind you that they are, really, just normal kids.

samatoki and nemu have white hair to contrast them. i could talk forever about how samatoki and nemu are designed to directly contrast ichiro but that’s for another time. jyuto is the Normal One, hence the normal brown hair. rio is ginger just to remind you that he’s white lmao.

all the members of matenrou have dual-colored hair to match their dual personalities, with a more normal color of hair layered over the more absurd one. this is important, because their more socially acceptable personality is what they are more like most of the time. (they are autistic) people perceive them as completely normal functioning adults before finding out that they are, in fact, not at all normal.

ramuda is pink because of his chuoku affiliation BUT! there’s more! his hair is dual-colored, but fades to purple rather than having a hard switch from pink to purple. much like i said about matenrou, the dual hair color is indicative of a dual personality. ramuda’s dual personality is different from matenrou, however, because the distinction between his cute persona and his darker persona as his real self kind of doesn’t exist. instead of drunk jakurai, host hifumi, or angry doppo, which are all not the true personalities of the matenrou members, dark ramuda and cute ramuda are equally the real ramuda. gentaro has brown hair so not to clash with his clothing, but also to emphasize that he’s supposed to be more of a narrator-type character, to fade into the background and let the story unfold, to finish his brother’s work and then vanish as though he were never there. dice’s hair is blue to oppose chuoku’s pink and his mother, while still being a link to her, and to contrast ramuda.

kuko’s hair is red, and i like to believe that it’s supposed to be like fire, connecting him to his sun motif but also to ichiro, who is often associated with fire. i sound ridiculous, but let’s keep going. bringing back the dual-colored hair i talked about before, jyushi’s odd hair color is outside, completely opposite from matenrou. jyushi’s chuunibyou personality only appears around people he doesn’t know, or doesn’t feel comfortable around (like a mask. autism), so naturally his hair’s eccentric accents are outside, rather than inside. hitoya is yet another case of the Normal Guy, but this time i want to say it’s because of jakurai. hitoya’s hair color is so incredibly common and average, two words i believe hitoya hates. you know who has a unique hair color? jakurai. hitoya is average, jakurai is not. sorry i get more insane the further down the post goes.

sasara is like ramuda, and i hate to break it to you, but we don’t actually know sasara that well. he’s definitely a many-layered character, and the fact that he will hide what he’s thinking and put on the mask of a silly guy makes me believe that his hair going from dark to light is deliberate. rosho is yet another dual-colored hair case, but he’s special because he’s only got a few streaks of lighter purple. these few streaks sort of symbolize how he gets when he’s mad, or maybe even how he’s a completely different person speaking to a crowd versus speaking to an individual. there’s nothing i can say about rei that i didn’t cover with the buster bros.

26. About your favorite Division - why do you love them?

Dhjdjd jejeje ok so I'm going to do all 3 again bc I like rambling.

I had mentioned matenro a bit before so hopefully this will be short. Well I like how nice they're, lol they all just want a good life and to chill and hang out and have fun, that's sweet. I find the religious motifs super interesting and that weird idea they seem to have with like repenting and owing people a lot of things. Lol is a little unhealthy so I find it super interesting. I like how supportive hifumi and jakurai are of doppo and how encouraging they are with each other. They have a lot of trust and I like how on board hifumi is about murdering doppos boss lol.

I love mtc bc I just love all of them, their personalities are all so funny, I like how their all so like fighty, like even if jyuto and rio seem more tame they're always down for the brawl, they're just really similar while being super different. I like how they just seem to understand each other well, their motivations and the values they carry, they respect that. How good friends they are and how much they value that friendship and each others happiness, they are very willing to take that L for each other. They are so caring and worry for the other so much!!! Even if it's on that subtle off hand way you can very much tell. Their songs are good, they're silly and I like how they're like "oooooh were so tough" I find it super funny, and it's also really cool. Yes you are so tough ooooo. I like how since samatoki and rio are more similar they bring way more trouble to jyuto lol, and I like how despite how much jyuto complains he really loves mtc and sticks with them anyways. Good friends over all.

Bat: they mean so much to me!! I like how strong willed they all are. They're so willing to get over grudges just like matenro lol, and like bettering themselves and being stronger. Also how they're just a tight knit family :) they're the epitome of found family for reals. I like how hitoya is like tsk pesky kids but would do anything for them!! Their songs are all bomb and they have some of the nicest voices in all of hypmic.

Would anyone mind if I dropped a headcanon for each divi, no? No? Ok, 1st every single hypmic characther is neurodivergent, I'm saying this now so it doesnt get repetitive lol I'm also not specifying bc theres some I'm not that sure about and yeah.

BB: we all know I headcanon BB as Puerto Rican so another one is that they're all nonbinary!! I think it would be hilarious if ichiro was like a huge kuuko stan and bought like merch of him just like how people say other charas would do, like jiro and saburo would own ichiro merch. I'm aware it's not a Puerto Rican food but since BB likes curry so much I think they would like hilachas (rice with tomato sauce, meat and some vegetables) last I think they would all run like a Yahoo answers forum type of thing: ichiro probs about like anime, like giving recks and over all discussion , jiro anime too but he could also do music or football, saburo would go into any forum he has any knowledge of and school people that say shit wrong.

Mtc: they have like a designated person for each task that the others cant do, jyuto drives and rio and samatoki cook. Jyuto tries to get into a cook off with samatoki (just so they can impress rio) and he cooks so badly they get food poisoning. They're all transmasc. Samatoki doesnt like fish.

Matenro: jakurai doesnt like fish (something he shares with samatoki), hifumis sister had a raccoon tail haircut and bc doppo probably loved her and looked up to her he also got a raccoon tail haircut. I think I didnt say it when I talked about hifumi headcanos but he's also latino. Jakurai has a photo of hifumi and doppo on his office and some people confuse them for his sons. Bat: since both kuuko and jyushi have painted nails I think it would be fun if they also painted hitoyas. I know it makes no sense with canon timeline but I like the idea that kuuko and hitoya somehow kept in contact after the trial thing bc how else would kuuko now about his whole jakurai shtick? Also since they keep in contact (could also be in canon timeline) for Ichiros bday he asks hitoya to buy him an exclusive pokemon card to give it to him. (If it's on canon timeline is their make up gift) jyushi is also in those Yahoo forum things and that's where he meets jiro and they become friends!!

Dotsuhon: sasara is my latino icon!!! Rei is also puerto rican since hes is bbs father and all that, so then when all of dotsuhon go out drinking rei and sasara have this bad tendency of speaking only in spanish to each other and rosho gets very pissed bc he doesnt understand anything. With that and the fact that I said dotsuhon matenro line up would be fun, but hifumi sasara and rei all talk in spanish while jakurai, doppo and rosho sit there like ��😐🧍🏽‍♂️(I'm sorry for side lining them but this is so funny)The real reason why dotsuhon lost is bc they do a pelea de canchinflines fight to decide the winner and since Rosho has never done that it doesnt go too well. Rei banda song when? Sasara does one of those queres ser mi novio? Mariachi and sign things on roshos. Sasara has comedy skits in Spanish that he does with Rei. it was about time i typed out my thoughts on grateful cypher lol. i’m still processing it actually!!!! but i actually think this play is not for me lmao!!!! it was a genuinely fantastic play don’t get me wrong, like i was actually taken aback by how the play went down, depicted some of my fav relationship beats at their finest and had lots of banger moments, but the moment it became very tdd centric, i knew this was not the play for the type of fan i am lol

it wasn’t something i particularly liked in canon, but the stage really highlighted how in the early days of the tdd manga, mcd and nb mirrored tf out of each other, as in, they physically showed their bond in the same way and it was stupid tbh but it was kinda cool to see in that throwback kinda sense lol

so the bros are on summer vacay let’s goooooo lol!!!!!!!! school’s out for jiro and saburo and ichiro’s elected to take a week off so they can take a trip!!!! ofc jiro and saburo can’t agree where they should go lol jiro wants to go to mountains and saburo wants to do an escape room but ichiro finds a nice middle ground by suggesting they do both; they’ll camp in the mountains and then hit up an escape room on the way back home 🤗

on bat minus kuukou’s end, the three of them had intended to go camping together but kuukou got held up by shakku lmao. while out fishing for their meal, jyushi was jumpscared by ramuda!!! turns out ramuda was in the area for inspiration for a fashion collection!!! hitoya’s not the happiest about the straggler but he lets it slide lol

we see the bros work together to whip up a fire curry, and afterwards they head out to see a nearby lake!!! thing is tho, something about the lake is kinda giving ichiro and saburo bad vibes 😕 jiro happens to see a shrine for what the bros assume is in reverence for a minor god, despite the creepy look its got going for it. someone suddenly shouts at them from across the way and!!!

it’s ramuda with jyushi and hitoya in tow!!!! crazy coincidence lol

the six of them spend time bonding at the lake; jiro saburo jyushi and ramuda were in the water, splashing each other (saburo was grouchy about it tho, saying this was childish and jyushi caught strays tbh lol), while hitoya and ichiro talked camping out on the shore. their fun was interrupted by the locals demanding them to stop disturbing the sacred land. ichiro apologised on their behalf but as the villagers left, hitoya overheard them muttering something about being fine for sacrifice???? but all that playing around makes people hungry so ramuda proposes they all eat together!!!! so the bros, jyushi and hitoya cook up bbq and pizza!!!! ramuda was mostly there to look cute lmao (ichiro chewed him out lol, saying he needs to do his part) bellies full, their day ends playing some games saburo brought over and fireworks jiro probably brought 😌

the new day dawns and we start with bb’s camp, ichiro’s got some morning tea ready. jiro wakes up and questions where saburo went, to which ichiro responds he was already gone by the time ichiro got up so he assumed saburo’s on a walk somewhere. a little weird for saburo but that’s cool except ramuda and hitoya suddenly run up to their camp asking if they’ve seen jyushi since he wasn’t at their camp when they woke up and he wasn’t answering his phone

that’s when they know something’s wrong

the four of them scour the forest and eventually hit up the village and the place looks as creepy as the that shrine does. hitoya ran up to a local, phone pic in hand and asked if they’d seen saburo and jyushi. the villager replied he hadn’t and warns them to steer clear of the village since it’s an important day for them (hitoya: …??), but jiro calls the fcker out bc the guy’s wearing the wristband saburo was wearing. jiro demands to know where they got it from, and the villager says they bought it. y’know like a liar, bc that was a special edition wristband saburo won in a game tournament. the villager escapes but that lie tips ichiro and jiro off that they need to search the village

we cut to a run down house where jyushi is frantically trying to wake saburo up. he’s slow to awake but when he does, despite initial confusion over where tf they are, he keeps a level head assessing the situation. which is good, jyushi’s panicking bc they’ve been kidnapped lol. saburo suggests the others will be searching for them so the best they can do is use a spare firework he had in the fire place as a smoke signal. tragically, they were found out by the villagers, and ichiro, jiro, hitoya and ramuda were too late. jyushi tho, left behind one of his rings to let hitoya know that they had been here. hitoya finally puts two and two together and deduces the villagers intend to use saburo and jyushi as sacrifices. they remember that creepy asf shrine and in a panic jiro starts off for the shrine, the others not far behind

they arrive just as saburo and jyushi learn they’re to be human sacrifices and the villagers explain that every year they bring a sacrifice for jyajyakou-sama (the name consists of primarily the kanji for snake) in order to stave off disaster. it’s a honour they say. but obviously we not letting saburo and jyushi be sacrifices so ichiro jiro hitoya and ramuda break out the mics and rap them into submission. with the villagers down, they’re able to free saburo and jyushi from their constraints but it turns out the villagers were still able to move. they begin to call out to their god, chanting about the cost for life and no matter how many bars the six of them throw, the villagers get back up as if they’re undead. finally, the six decide to run away

a little while later, back at yorozuya yamada, we hear from ichiro that hitoya sent the cops after that village. turns out tho.

there was never any village. no people, no records of it, nothing.

hitoya called bullshit so he went with the cops out to that village himself and there really was nothing there

and the bros are stunned to silence

probably one of the most important verses in terminus i think and yeah, it’s just kuukou’s way of life but also it’s kuukou’s way of life lmao

in probably over half of the stories kuukou’s in, there’s a point of how kuukou’s too inexperienced to be able to guide/lead properly;

he leaves home to show how good of a leader he is and finds out real quick lol

shakku assigns jyushi’s training to kuukou so he can be better

kuukou hits a wall training jyushi bc he’s relying on the only experience he’s had with training and isn’t looking at jyushi properly

that ‘blindness’ is the root of his conflict in harmonious cooperation, he blindly assumes he can solve jyushi and hitoya’s problems really quick and shakku literally chews him out over it, saying he’s young and to value the journey getting there (it also bears pointing out that the above verse is kuukou not rushing ahead as means of enrichment, but walking and resting)

i personally believe the curry drama tracks have been hinting at this round of drama track developments, and y’all don’t understand lmao, the way jyushi and hitoya were thinking it’d be nice if the people eating their curry could feel the effort that went into it was followed by the most poignant silence, only for kuukou to grouch there’s no point if they aren’t experiencing it themselves just feels like it’s relevant lol

like it all just comes back to kuukou and using his experience to guide. so about that ‘yesterday’s shaky retreat’ verse in terminus, it was pointed out that kuukou had said something very similar in young gun of the sun

and young gun of the sun is literally kuukou guiding based on how he knows what it’s like to suffer (and to feel so bad about a mistake he wants to die), so all this to say i think that verse is literally nothing but kuukou finding forgiveness in himself for something he did, and maybe that past mistake was so severe he thought the end of his life was the best answer

Like one of the first things he establishes way at the beginning the importance of making your own choices, and how he wonders if coming back to Nagoya when he did was right or not, but is the choice he made. idk how to try and support your ideas without breaking down each and every verse lol, but i’ll try to keep it short. i think in this song preview, we listened to kuukou question everything he believes in, but as the song further and further progresses, we see him reassert his beliefs and give them focus, quite literally saying to never waver again. what set that off is the big question and i do think it’s linked to that very verse

the only time he’s ever mentioned such a sentiment is towards ichiro actually; ichiro always wavered in his heart and it’s the one thing kuukou could not stand about ichiro, so there’s potential it could be about ichiro

but this is a bat track lol and besides, ichiro and kuukou are very similar people. what he hates in ichiro could be actually reflective of something he hates in himself for a past choice we aren’t privy to, or even that very ‘choice’ to have left ikebukuro

as for it being bc of true hypnosis mic thought, i don’t see why it couldn’t be!!!! esp since kuukou himself didn’t sound very happy with the way he was called strong for breaking free out of the true hypnosis mic in the six colours track. if he needs maybe we’ll get some insight as to how kuukou broke out of the true hypnosis mic???

something that caught my eye while looking over the lyrics was that both he and hitoya have a similar verse about ‘illusions,’ hitoya plans to unravel its lies and kuukou’s is about how those illusions became reality. idk lol!!!!! that kinda sounds like a nod to the true hypnosis mic to me!!!! plus!!!! we had hitoya accompany ichiro, jakurai and gentaro’s block party mission to find out about the hypnosis mics, so that gives bat another connection to the hypnosis mic lore, as small as it is rn lol

on kuukou’s end, he true hypnosis mic had the power to strip away the value of choice. kuukou’s talked about how the hypnosis mic can change your fate in glory or dust and fate for kuukou is directly linked to choice. choice affects karma and depending on the karma you accumulated in life would affect how kuukou faces the buddha at the end of his life. so where does a choice like his actions the true hypnosis mic made him do fall under??? what’s that karma???? maybe it’s why kuukou’s thinking at some point in this song that his heart’s conviction isn’t enough, as evidenced by that verse ‘even when closed, with unwavering resolve in our hearts / this belief itself extinguishes like a flame,’ if his will had been strong enough in the first place, maybe he wouldn’t have succumbed to it is his thought process and that’s very harsh for kuukou to put onto himself lol

there was an interview with the bat seiyuu in this magazine and i finally sat down to read it (almost two months after its release *wheezes*) and here were the highlights!!!!

it’s basically the whole thing so buckle in lol

upon being asked how they felt about bat’s anime debut, all three of them revealed they were certain they would have had a last episode cameo LOL

sakakihara-san even gave us what he thought the dialogue would be lmao so there was a lot of disappointment when they were told only rei was making a s1 appearance

needless to say, they are very happy bat’s now in rhyme anima lol

they were asked how their impressions of the characters has shifted over the years!!!

hayama-san responded when he first played kuukou, he got the sense he was a massive brat lol but that bad attitude of his stemmed from his understanding of the world. kuukou’s mellowed as the story progressed and had him experience more, eg establishing his teacher-pupil relationship with jyushi, and now understands how to navigate others weaknesses with tolerance and warmth

he’s still childish and still has a high perception of the world and that clash is where kuukou’s energy stems from. he’s at a crossroads between youth and maturity so to say

hayama recalls recording for kuukou’s first radio where he was a lot more mature, and then moving to chaser from the past, the track where he invades fragrance, and how hard it was adjusting mentalities LOL

harmonious cooperation really drove home for hayama-san that kuukou was the sun tho!!!!

that strength and energy that opens and paves the way is how sakakihara-san and takeuchi-san can tell he’s the leader

on that note, hayama-san mentions he’s never seen kuukou’s weaknesses. compared to jyushi and hitoya, we know next to nothing about kuukou’s past besides that he reached a point higher in his asceticism than his father and hopes to see everything leading up to it someday

for sakakihara-san, he was told jyushi was a crybaby and assumed he was a weak person. but once he learned about jyushi’s past, he realised that even tho he does cry, he’s still able to assert his feelings and doesn’t back down from anything, so jyushi actually has a very strong heart

jyushi sings in moonlight shadow, ‘i bask in the spotlight’s growing brilliance, in seizing a mic, anyone can become a hero’ and with that lyric, sakakihara-san understood jyushi may have a very tragic past but there’s a very strong flame burning inside him and he’s able to illuminate others with that light

bat’s come a long way and sakakihara-san finds comfort that jyushi’s around people who can laugh and joke around with him and will continue to strengthen his heart with them

takeuchi-san says jyushi is blessed to have so many good people around him, including his band members, which triggers sakakihara-san to start thanking the both of them, esp after takeuchi-san mentions it was hitoya who introduced kuukou and jyushi to each other lmao

and speaking of hitoya!!!! takeuchi-san felt he’s been mature since the beginning and thinks it’s cool that he talks to kuukou and jyushi like they’re equals. but he likes to compete against them sometimes so he’s got a very childish side to him lol

lately, hitoya’s dark and sordid past, his childhood hobbies, have been targeted as a joke and takeuchi-san is absolutely amused by it lmao

hayama-san brings up ‘amaguni the magic king’ and ‘amaguni moon’ from arb and takeuchi feels hitoya’s being bullied a bit lol but it adds to his charm!!!!

when it comes to dubbing the anime versus the drama tracks, all three of them are cognisant of pacing

in the drama tracks, for example, when jyushi is in vkei mode, sakakihara-san is allowed to take his time to croon out his flowery words but in the anime he does have to fit everything he says in a set amount of time

now that he has pictures and movements to match, sakakihara-san was trying to make those words flow with what jyushi does, rather than what he imagines jyushi does by nature of the drama tracks, while maintaining the vibe of what jyushi’s saying. there was some trial and error involved trying to get it right

it’s the same for takeuchi-san and he appreciates getting to see hitoya’s hand movements as he does his two thing bit lol

they were then asked if there was any directorial direction that stood out to them and they didn’t really receive any!!! takeuchi-san commented there were more cases where staff consulted them about their characters

the interviewer said it’s probably because the characters are embedded into them by this point but hayama-san laughingly thinks they still have a long way to go before they can say that lol

he says this but follows up with, it does make him happy that when he’s reading something and questions if this is something kuukou would do; it means he has a good understanding of kuukou as a character

they start talking about episode three!!!! the episode exists as ‘the strawberry episode’ in hayama-san’s head LOL

hayama-san is happy to see kuukou interacting with the locals (and loves that the old ladies call him ‘kuu-chan’ lol) and takeuchi-san comments it’s neat that they all spoke with nagoya accents!!! bat doesn’t really speak with the nagoya accent and it’s also very rare for anime to have characters that do, so that makes him happy as someone who grew up in aichi prefecture

sakakihara-san liked how so many of bat’s charms and elements were condensed into one episode!!! with jyushi, tho he was being picked on by the antagonists, he liked how the episode highlighted the trials jyushi’s gone thru to make him strong enough to lend a helping hand to belial

hayama-san comments that ever since the battle between bat and mtr, he thinks bat’s appeal is that, just as we witnessed with jyushi and belial, they take your hand and pull you up when you’re at your lowest to give you the strength to stand up on your own

whether it’s the hand that’s offered or the hand that receives it, they are joined and will walk as equals and as friends. bad ass temple guides others by building relationships with them, hayama-san said

the interviewer was particularly charmed by hitoya telling jyushi ‘friends you make when you’re young stick with you whole your life’ and so was takeuchi-san. he feels hitoya mentioned this because of his relationship with jakurai, with all its turbulence they’ve still come back to together

the interviewer then brought up ichiro and kuukou’s past as naughty busters!! hayama-san said kuukou’s relationship with ichiro is something that’s been forged stronger than what he has with jyushi and hitoya so there’s a lot of trust kuukou places in ichiro. takeuchi-san said they have the kind of vibe where because they’re former teammates, they can understand each other without saying anything and hayama-san agrees

hayama-san feels mcd and nb have a similar connection and when the four of them got together, ichiro and kuukou kinda had their own little bubble. the interviewer thought ichiro and kuukou’s conversation, where kuukou asked why didn’t ichiro call him and ichiro’s asking if he really needed to (and ofc he didn’t) had that atmosphere and that conversation honestly made hayama-san swoon with how smooth and natural it was lol

when asked about their thoughts about sanity, the insert rap, hayama-san initially felt it was similar to rip but that opinion changed after listening to the demo. sanity, to him, felt similar to a division all stars song where he doesn’t sing in kuukou’s style in order to bring out the harmony of the song. sakakihara-san also takes in account to how much of jyushi’s vkei style he should put in songs like division all stars songs

takeuchi-san also found himself considering the harmony in sanity and didn’t go hard on the volume for his parts as he would with other songs

takeuchi-san feels like sanity has a very strong kuukou influence and after hayama-san listened to the whole thing, he felt excited thinking about how to maintain bat’s individualities when performing it live

next up was next stage!! all the artists who wrote for each individual team has done so in past songs and moroha’s afro, who gave us kaigen, returned for next stage. hayama-san was very happy to work with him again

the part in jyushi’s verse, where he goes ‘guided by the sky, protected by the heavens’ and onwards was a bit of a struggle for sakakihara-san to portray jyushi’s feelings like he wanted to. he kept asking for retries to get the vibe he wanted

hayama-san felt the same since kuukou’s thanks in the song isn’t something kuukou really does. kuukou’s not one to be shy or embarrassed so he did multiple takes in order to portray the warmth afro intended when writing those lyrics

takeuchi-san comments that with an artist like afro, it’s really hard to come in after listening to his demo and making his style of music work with their characters. hayama-san followed that with it’s because afro’s music is one that pierces the heart of the listener, himself included, so he’s immediately at the ready to do what he needs to in order to preserve that whilst playing kuukou, hence the multiple takes

and now rise from dead!!! it’s a song with a lot momentum, very fitting for rhyme anima!!!! that momentum is what made the song fun for takeuchi-san

sakakihara-san enjoyed getting to sing for his verses and hayama-san felt like nagoya’s part could be summed up as, kuukou bringing the breakneck speed, jyushi’s like a dance and hitoya wraps it up with a crash

the interviewer then commented it felt like the three of them got along with each other very well. but had their impressions of each other changed over the years??

hayama-san doesn’t think so but takeuchi-san Has Words About That (and hayama-san and sakakihara-san start laughing LOL)

they’ve gotten less shy around him and hayama-san teasingly tells him that’s because he’s spoiled them rotten by letting them get away with everything, with sakakihara-san chiming in, ‘papa!!💜’

naturally he wasn’t as comfortable with them when they first met, they were strangers, but as they hung out together more, he felt he could let go of walls and manners around them. this makes sakakihara-san giggle💜

hayama-san takes the time to apologise to takeuchi-san, he feels like he’s been taking it too far lately and takeuchi-san calls him a liar LOL

the interviewer asks them what they think their appeal is as performers and hayama-san and takeuchi-san both went, ‘destructive power probably????’

takeuchi-san thinks they’re like, A Lot, whenever they perform together lmao

i still hate the way kuukou’s written, but what the stage did do was take a majority of kuukou’s development, which primarily happened before he formed bat, and fit it into a linear, easy to follow, format for the stage. not something i particularly agree with but i understand why they did!!!!!

i still don’t understand why they removed his compassion tho lol

they started to set up parallels between kuukou’s arrogance and jakurai’s arrogance back in track 3 and i’m happy to see it come together here in bat vs mtr

hitoya displayed a degree of levelheadedness his canon counterpart didn’t; here in the play, hitoya is willing to admit he’s changed as well and maybe jakurai’s change wasn’t the only reason they fell apart. interesting stuff

jyushi pulled out hitoya’s backstory from hitoya and we get a really sweet number about jyushi’s hero worship towards hitoya 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺 and how jyushi wants to be the one to save hitoya this time 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺

what had me yelling was how they took hifumi’s feelings about honobono and applied it towards getting jakurai to open up towards reconciliation!!!!!!!!!!! some relationships you have to fight for hifumi said!!!!!!! goddamn they really made sensei face hitoya!!!!!!! i love it!!!!!!!!

and the fact we still get to hear hifumi’s feelings about honobono!!!!!!! they had to keep mtr drama light because bat’s drama wasn’t as devastating as mtr’s in the battle album and the more equal stakes are a great call!!!! but yay!!!!!! hifumi’s complex feelings about honobono!!!!!!!!!

LOL at the end of it all during the redux stuff we were treated to jyushi sexy dancing in front of the crowd and kuukou bodying his teammates they’re so funny 💜💜💜💜💜💜

overall a fantastic play!!!!!! very clean storytelling with a few choices i prefer over canon!!!!! godspeed hypstage thanks for the banger!!!!
