the latest camping event in ARB sounds really interesting! May I ask for a brief summary of what exactly happens? 🥺

so the bros are on summer vacay let’s goooooo lol!!!!!!!! school’s out for jiro and saburo and ichiro’s elected to take a week off so they can take a trip!!!! ofc jiro and saburo can’t agree where they should go lol jiro wants to go to mountains and saburo wants to do an escape room but ichiro finds a nice middle ground by suggesting they do both; they’ll camp in the mountains and then hit up an escape room on the way back home 🤗

on bat minus kuukou’s end, the three of them had intended to go camping together but kuukou got held up by shakku lmao. while out fishing for their meal, jyushi was jumpscared by ramuda!!! turns out ramuda was in the area for inspiration for a fashion collection!!! hitoya’s not the happiest about the straggler but he lets it slide lol

we see the bros work together to whip up a fire curry, and afterwards they head out to see a nearby lake!!! thing is tho, something about the lake is kinda giving ichiro and saburo bad vibes 😕 jiro happens to see a shrine for what the bros assume is in reverence for a minor god, despite the creepy look its got going for it. someone suddenly shouts at them from across the way and!!!

it’s ramuda with jyushi and hitoya in tow!!!! crazy coincidence lol

the six of them spend time bonding at the lake; jiro saburo jyushi and ramuda were in the water, splashing each other (saburo was grouchy about it tho, saying this was childish and jyushi caught strays tbh lol), while hitoya and ichiro talked camping out on the shore. their fun was interrupted by the locals demanding them to stop disturbing the sacred land. ichiro apologised on their behalf but as the villagers left, hitoya overheard them muttering something about being fine for sacrifice???? but all that playing around makes people hungry so ramuda proposes they all eat together!!!! so the bros, jyushi and hitoya cook up bbq and pizza!!!! ramuda was mostly there to look cute lmao (ichiro chewed him out lol, saying he needs to do his part) bellies full, their day ends playing some games saburo brought over and fireworks jiro probably brought 😌

the new day dawns and we start with bb’s camp, ichiro’s got some morning tea ready. jiro wakes up and questions where saburo went, to which ichiro responds he was already gone by the time ichiro got up so he assumed saburo’s on a walk somewhere. a little weird for saburo but that’s cool except ramuda and hitoya suddenly run up to their camp asking if they’ve seen jyushi since he wasn’t at their camp when they woke up and he wasn’t answering his phone

that’s when they know something’s wrong

the four of them scour the forest and eventually hit up the village and the place looks as creepy as the that shrine does. hitoya ran up to a local, phone pic in hand and asked if they’d seen saburo and jyushi. the villager replied he hadn’t and warns them to steer clear of the village since it’s an important day for them (hitoya: …??), but jiro calls the fcker out bc the guy’s wearing the wristband saburo was wearing. jiro demands to know where they got it from, and the villager says they bought it. y’know like a liar, bc that was a special edition wristband saburo won in a game tournament. the villager escapes but that lie tips ichiro and jiro off that they need to search the village

we cut to a run down house where jyushi is frantically trying to wake saburo up. he’s slow to awake but when he does, despite initial confusion over where tf they are, he keeps a level head assessing the situation. which is good, jyushi’s panicking bc they’ve been kidnapped lol. saburo suggests the others will be searching for them so the best they can do is use a spare firework he had in the fire place as a smoke signal. tragically, they were found out by the villagers, and ichiro, jiro, hitoya and ramuda were too late. jyushi tho, left behind one of his rings to let hitoya know that they had been here. hitoya finally puts two and two together and deduces the villagers intend to use saburo and jyushi as sacrifices. they remember that creepy asf shrine and in a panic jiro starts off for the shrine, the others not far behind

they arrive just as saburo and jyushi learn they’re to be human sacrifices and the villagers explain that every year they bring a sacrifice for jyajyakou-sama (the name consists of primarily the kanji for snake) in order to stave off disaster. it’s a honour they say. but obviously we not letting saburo and jyushi be sacrifices so ichiro jiro hitoya and ramuda break out the mics and rap them into submission. with the villagers down, they’re able to free saburo and jyushi from their constraints but it turns out the villagers were still able to move. they begin to call out to their god, chanting about the cost for life and no matter how many bars the six of them throw, the villagers get back up as if they’re undead. finally, the six decide to run away

a little while later, back at yorozuya yamada, we hear from ichiro that hitoya sent the cops after that village. turns out tho.

there was never any village. no people, no records of it, nothing.

hitoya called bullshit so he went with the cops out to that village himself and there really was nothing there

and the bros are stunned to silence

Amelie kicked off her shoes the second she stepped into her hotel room, sighing in relief as she pulled down her mask. Her feet ached from walking around Magic Kingdom all day, but it was worth it—every ride, every sugary treat, every stupid laugh with Alex and Minnie had made turning nineteen feel a little less strange.

Still, there was that tiny ache in her chest, the one that whispered something was missing.

Lando.

She hated that she missed him this much, especially when she was the one always reminding him they were just friends. But he wasn’t just her friend. Not anymore. And she knew it.

Minnie followed in behind her, humming under her breath as she flopped onto the bed. Alex, carrying what was left of their Mickey-shaped snacks, nudged her shoulder.

—You look tired, birthday girl.—

Amelie rolled her eyes but smiled. —I am tired. And I smell like churros.—

Alex snorted. —That’s the best way to smell, though.—

Minnie smirked. —You should shower. And maybe check the room properly before you do.—

Amelie frowned. That was suspicious. Too suspicious.

—What? Why?— she asked, glancing between the two of them. They were both terrible at hiding things.

Minnie just smiled, biting her lip, while Alex casually shrugged, but his eyes gave him away.

—Just saying, maybe look around, Ames.—

Her stomach flipped. She knew that tone. What the fuck had they done?

Narrowing her eyes, she took a step further into the room—and that’s when she saw it.

A bouquet of her favorite flowers, sitting in the middle of the table. Next to it, a ridiculously overstuffed Stitch plush, so big it looked like it could swallow her whole. And in front of that, a small white box with a perfectly tied navy-blue ribbon.

Her heart stopped.

—No fucking way.—

—What the hell is this?— Amelie breathed, taking hesitant steps toward the table.

Minnie and Alex just grinned, exchanging knowing glances like they were in on some secret.

—Why don’t you open the card and find out?— Alex suggested, nodding toward the little envelope tucked between the bouquet.

Her fingers trembled slightly as she picked it up, slipping her nail under the flap and pulling out the card inside. The handwriting was messy but familiar, the letters slanting in a way that made her chest tighten.

Happy Birthday, Ames. I know I can’t be there today, and that fucking sucks, but I hope this makes you smile at least a little. I miss you. I really fucking miss you. -Lan.

She swallowed hard.

Her stomach did that stupid fluttery thing it always did when he was involved, the ache in her chest deepening. Because he cared. Because even from across the world, he wanted to make her feel special.

—Is this from…— she trailed off, already knowing the answer.

Minnie rolled onto her stomach on the bed, kicking her feet behind her. —Obviously. Your not-boyfriend is disgustingly in love with you.—

Amelie’s cheeks burned. —Shut up.—

Alex just smirked. —Are you gonna open the box or what?—

With an eye roll, she set the card down and carefully tugged at the ribbon, untying it and lifting the lid. Inside was a delicate silver bracelet, simple but beautiful, with a tiny charm dangling from it—a little star.

Her throat tightened.

She had told him, months ago, that her mom used to call her mi estrellita when she was little. That it made her feel safe, loved, seen.

And he remembered.

God, she hated him.

Loved him.

Both, probably.

Amelie blinked rapidly, trying to push down the lump in her throat as she slipped the bracelet onto her wrist. It fit perfectly.

Amelie stood there for a moment, just staring at the bracelet. The weight of it on her wrist felt like a tangible reminder of how much Lando truly cared for her, even when they were miles apart. She could practically hear his voice in her head, that soft, teasing tone he always used when they joked, and yet there was something so real, so heartfelt, about the way he expressed his feelings, even from across the world.

Her eyes flicked to the bouquet of flowers. She had no doubt that those were carefully selected, knowing her favorite colors, the types of blooms that always made her smile. And the Stitch plush? Well, that was just so Lando. Over the top, silly, and yet exactly what she needed. Something to remind her that even though they hadn’t put a label on whatever this was, he cared. He cared a lot.

Her heart pounded in her chest, and she quickly turned away from the table, pacing a few steps to distract herself.

—Ames, what’s wrong?— Alex asked, his voice tinged with concern.

—Nothing, I’m just...— she trailed off, not sure how to explain it. She’d been putting so many walls up, telling herself that being with Lando was complicated and that they were just friends, but moments like this? They made her question everything. Why was she doing that?

She felt the burn of tears behind her eyes, but she blinked them away. No. She wasn’t going to let herself cry over this. Not yet.

Minnie sat up, looking over at her with a sympathetic glance. —It’s okay to miss him, you know. You don’t have to keep pretending like you don’t, especially when he’s out here doing shit like this to make you smile. He’s clearly into you, Ames. It’s obvious.—

Amelie shook her head, trying to play it off, but it was no use. Minnie was right. She hated that she was so stubborn. She hated that she couldn’t just let herself feel whatever this was between her and Lando. He was always there for her, even when they were miles apart. And yet, every time she started to let her guard down, she pulled away again.

—Yeah, well, he deserves someone who can...— she cut herself off, unsure how to finish the thought.

—Someone who can what?— Alex prodded.

—Someone who can give him more than I can. I don’t even know what I want, Alex. And it’s not fair to him if I can’t figure it out. I don’t want to hurt him. I just...— she swallowed hard, her voice barely above a whisper. —I don’t know what I’m doing anymore.—

Minnie and Alex exchanged looks, both of them silently agreeing on something.

—You’re overthinking, Ames, like you always do.— Minnie said gently. —This isn’t some grand drama. You two are just figuring things out. But you can’t keep pretending that you don’t care about him. You care. And he cares. So, what are you gonna do about it?—

Amelie let out a deep breath, trying to calm her racing thoughts. The truth was, she did care. God, did she care. But she couldn’t let herself fall headfirst into something she wasn’t sure about. Not again. Not after what happened with Cam.

She glanced down at the bracelet again, her fingers tracing the tiny star charm. It was like Lando had picked up on every little thing that mattered to her. He hadn’t just sent her a generic gift. He’d sent her something meaningful, something that connected to her childhood, to her mom’s voice echoing in her ear when she was little.

—You’re right, I’m overthinking it.— she finally said, her voice barely a whisper. She turned to face her friends. —I just don’t know how to deal with... this. All of this. The mess I feel. The shit I’m not ready for.—

Alex crossed the room and wrapped an arm around her shoulders, pulling her into a side hug. —Listen to me, Amelie. No one has it figured out. Not even Lando. He’s doing his best from Russia, and you’re here, celebrating your birthday with your best friends. Whatever happens next? You don’t have to have it all figured out today. You’ve got time.—

She nodded, but her heart still felt heavy with uncertainty. Everything felt like it was swirling around her. The gift, the way Lando had made an effort to make her feel loved from across the world, all the history between them, all the reasons why she was so damn scared to take the next step.

Minnie leaned forward from the bed, grinning mischievously. —Also, you need to send him a picture of that bracelet. Let him see how cute you look with it. It’ll drive him crazy. Trust me.—

Amelie couldn’t help but laugh, the tension in her chest easing just a little. —I’m not doing that.—

—Oh, you will. Don’t act like you’re not going to. That boy is wrapped around your finger, and you know it.— Minnie teased.

Amelie rolled her eyes, but the smile tugging at her lips was real. She looked down at the bracelet again, biting her lip. Maybe they were right. Maybe she had been running away from the one person who really understood her, the one person who made her feel... more. Maybe it was time to stop pretending.

But for tonight, at least, she was going to enjoy her birthday. With her best friends. And with the ridiculous, thoughtful, completely Lando surprise that had somehow made her feel closer to him, even though he was thousands of miles away.

—Okay, okay, maybe I will send him a picture.— she finally admitted, a small laugh escaping her.

—That’s my girl.— Alex said with a wink, and Amelie knew she’d made the right choice in letting herself relax, if only for tonight.

She took a deep breath, the weight of everything still present but a little easier to carry. Maybe tomorrow would bring more clarity. Maybe it wouldn’t. Either way, she had something to look forward to, and for the first time in a while, that didn’t feel so bad.

anyway, what kind of fun date activities do you think jean and pieck would do together? :3 I remember you mentioned going to a day spa for your birthday so I wonder what a jeanpiku trip to a day spa would be like! i.e. does one of them have to be convinced/nagged to go (but then end up enjoying it, lmao), do they have a part of the trip they love/hate etc (would pieck be a sauna girlie or is she one of those ppl who "just don't get it"?)

Biggest Jeanpiku-coded dates: picnic/reading/drawing in the park, aquarium or planetarium (both while high and also while sober), BOWLING (because Jean wins and Pieck is a huge sore loser), arcades and arcade bars. I think they would prefer to actually DO something on a date rather than just sit and have dinner (not that that’s unusual. Jean does get his “fancy steakhouse of the fiscal quarter” date as he insists), but I feel like they’d rather be up and moving because they’re both so lazy at home. I think Jean would be really into art museums and would love dissecting an artist’s style and technique and explaining it to Pieck, who would listen more because she likes seeing him be so passionate about things than she would be trying to learn something.

I think they’re definitely a stay-at-home couple too, but that causes a rut in the relationship and to fix it they both decide to stick to a plan where once a month, they go out and do something that involves either walking or sunshine.

I think initially Pieck had to nudge Jean to go to a day spa because he felt weird about the idea of someone touching his oiled-up body (even if they were a licensed therapist) but once he actually goes he LOVES it. Turns out being 6’2 and having a tiny wife that you feel obligated to carry everything for is hard on your back, and as much as he loves Tiny Wife™ massages at home it’s simply no match for some strange buff dude absolutely wrecking his shit to some ambient meditation music and the smell of eucalyptus and then telling him to stretch more.

Pieck is more into the massages but enjoys the infrared sauna with a book, while Jean is gonna go straight to the steam room (and then come out soaking wet to hug Pieck and ruin her hair). They both complain about crowds.

They both smuggle in travel lotion bottles to steal a helping of the spa’s aēsop soaps. Hey. They paid for a whole day pass. Might as well get their money’s worth!

Thank you for making me want to go to the spa again una but I am embarrassingly broke 😭

More headcanons no one asked for: Jon edition

He's an addict. Cigarettes, alcohol, caffeine (coffee), a sugar fiend. Used to buy lotto tickets, but now he just robs places, so not super relevant anymore. Though he still buys one occasionally for funsies.

He used to be more prim and proper before roguedom. Kind of bland, professional. Embracing being a masked maniac really allowed him to add some flavor to his appearance; he starts to slowly become more edgy and take on alt looks. As I mentioned in a previous post, he gets his nails done, generally black. I go by the Tim Sale-esque vibes for his design. He gets tattoos and piercings. He's trying too hard to look badass. Previously, he was too worried about remaining employed to venture out, as well as just generally being repressed in a lot of ways. Entering his Scarecrow era just kinda… Freed him in that aspect.

He's origin comics inspired + Year One influenced. He struggles with a lot of religious trauma and letting go of his upbringing of abuse from his grandmother. He had hang-ups and a conservative-judgmental personality from it (like misogyny from how his grandmother beat it into him that his mother was a sinner and evil). He's still terribly judgmental, but just. Different. Struggling with some of those past pre-conceived notions and breaking them down. He desperately tries to distance himself from how he was before - uptight, anxious, very uncool. He's over-compensating though by leaning in the opposite direction HARD.

He's kind of a Reddit Atheist. Again, over-compensating.

Closeted bisexual. See above religious trauma.

Because he’s obsessed with Becky, he doesn’t really explore romance. It’s not impossible, but it’s not on his mind as much.

He's always had a woe-is-me, the world is out to get me attitude. It carries over from the bullying in high school, which often makes him disliked by others, resulting in him being further ostracized, and that just continues the cycle. He often interprets interactions as negative and assumes others are belittling him, judging him, even when that is not the case. He just perceives things that way. He likes to pretend to be a loner, self-isolate, be an introvert. He is to a degree, but more than anything, he wants to be part of the in-group and accepted. He just chronically avoids rejection or putting himself in positions that may result in rejection.

BUT like. He secretly loves attention and yapping away to people. Teasing others (though he has trouble with the concept of don't dish what you can't take). People taking interest in him. Relating to people. Fear might be his whole thing and why he says he studied psychology, but the truth is he also wants to understand people and how to control his interactions with them because historically his interactions have been bad (or simply perceived as bad). So… Again, it's a control thing. Hypervigilance to be able to predict his environment. That sorta thing.

But obviously if people don't like him and he can't control the situation, he did that on purpose. Duh. They're undeserving of his time anyways. He's too cool for them. Or whatever reason he makes up.

He's always down for a team-up, although he might pretend to be hard to get about it at first. But he loves it because YES, the freaks of Gotham get me. FINALLY, I'm accepted.

He probably has bpd based on my version of his personality, but that’s because I have bpd and tend to write characters with a bpd-lean lmao

We could've had Zhan Tiri tell Cassandra of her POV of her past with Demanitus in order to make Cass sympathize with her (developing her character and the plot in one swoop), and then we could've had a cool moment of the main gang reading Manny's journal in the finale (while looking for the Portal blueprints) and letting us see a flashback of his view of everything that happened until the fateful "I had to send my ex-bestie to acid hell" day and therefore get his own explanation on why he did it.

We could still have a vague explanation of their past, since both tales were told by opposite kings of the metaphorical board, but at least we wouldn't have the contradicting mess we got. Smh.

I found the fandom in 2018—2019. I remember I got to it maybe a couple months after season 1 ended and I got to watch season 2 as it came out !!

A big opinion I have is that Hector should've, if not taken the Moonstone himself, at the very least become an actual threat at some point. He would've been very useful in s2 since s2 lacks any real threat or antagonist (except the debut episode (Stalyan and Baron), the mid-finale (Hector and the GT), and the actual finale (Edmund).

Also Ziti could've been a little less Yzma'd. just saying 🦀

he's a freak!!!!!!!!!!!! i always really liked melone's design which is what got me so attached to him in the first place. when i started watching vento aureo, his character was so fascinating to me. like in the la squadra backstory flashback when he's in the restaurant and he sees some lady's ankles and licks his lips and everyone's like "WTF WEIRDO". like what really drew me into being melone's biggest fan is that he's WEIRD. he's so strange and offputting. i love him dearly ok

his reaction to prosciutto and pesci's deaths always really puts me off. like. no. because in the manga he never said that shit. he doesn't actually think of them as disfigured losers, and it annoyed me that THAT'S the way the dub decided to take it.

i have so many so here's a couple hehhehehe 1) melone takes very good care of his hair. 2) he's blind in one eye, which is why he doesn't mind having it covered. 3) he's tatted up underneath his clothes which is part of the reason he keeps it covered. la squadra didn't realize for a WHILE until melone started sleeping over at the base. he was walking around in his pajamas and everyone was kind of like "WHAT THE FUCK" and he was like "ya like what ya see?? ;)"

ghiaccio obviouslyyyyyy they're already close, and they usually work together anyways. they got along really well and i feel like they match each other in a bunch of different ways. where ghiaccio is loud and abrasive, melone is calm and collected. where melone is a freaky motherfucker, ghiaccio is an angry motherfucker. they compliment each other in so many different ways :3 i love them
