Thoughts on SHIKI Tohno?

The central arrangement of Far Side is that the Toono family is always at risk of losing their human heart and involuntarily committing uncontrolled acts of violence, and the only way to prevent that is by casting away their human heart and voluntarily committing controlled acts of violence. Its tragedy is derived from how no one benefits from this arrangement and no one has the key to escape it. The biggest acting hands are also the biggest victims. The graph for that is a perfect diagonal upward.

And SHIKI is the perfect victim. Loss of agency is the thing everyone fears the most in Far Side Tsukihime. His oni blood inverted, he was invaded by Roa, and he was drugged by Kohaku. Three layers of loss of agency that he needs to fight off. Narrator Protag Shiki also has his struggles with multiple layers but never at the same time like him. It's thematic overkill, with a risk of Red Garden adding a fourth or fifth thing also wrestling for control of his mind.

All we see of SHIKI as himself is him as an 8-year-old telling his childhood friend to immediately kill him if he ever falls into a third of the state we see him at in the present day. The real human SHIKI was quiet, somber, mature, and self-aware, just like the ghost we see in Drinking Dreaming Moon. In contrast, the main personality trait he demonstrates in Tsukihime's main story is his inability to shut up. All he has is mad ramblings about Shiki's identity theft, Akiha's affections, and the morality of murder. It all feels like he's trying too hard to rationalize his irrational actions because he can't live with himself otherwise, and to say everything he feels he has to say because he doesn't know when or if he'll ever get a next opportunity to talk.

His plot part is essential and he executes it masterfully. Nasu could easily have made him cool, but he went for the wiser route of making SHIKI exactly as sad and pathetic as he needed to be. A delightfully pitiful monster almost veering on comic relief. Incoherent in a way that hurts because you need to empathize with him. Everything that can go wrong in Tsukihime went wrong for him.

We headcanon that Zhongli uses he/she/they pronouns, depending on the form they take.

Over the millenia, the Geo Archon took many forms, finding themself preferring the half-dragonic figure that sculpted the very earth you stand on, Rex Lapis. During the early stages of your relationship, however, they were getting self-conscious, constantly assuring you that they could take any form you wish. You’d retort, telling them that you’d be happiest with them in their most comfortable form, which broke the stony expression lining his visage.

As the dragon hybrid, Rex Lapis is most relaxed, and your shared room will reflect that with soft lighting, pillows and blankets piled up in the bed (almost akin to a hoard), and a constant loop of Liyue’s finest hymns and lullabies emitting from the euphonium unbound; it’ll be quite the chore to tempt them away from the cozy space. Perhaps you of all things, their most esteemed treasure, could be the perfect little trinket to lure your draconic love from the mountain of bedding. Or you could just be the opposite, the crown jewel pinned between the plush duvets and their imposing figure as their tail surrounds your leg and their tongue dances with yours.

I saw some discussion floating around on what Momo and Okarun might name their child if they had one, which got me thinking about it as well. This inevitably led me down a deep rabbit hole of Japanese wordplay and research that really needed its own post, so here goes...

Naming hypothetical Dandadan kids!!

I'll be covering Momo x Okarun, Aira x Jiji and Kinta x Vamola below the cut for those who're interested - it's very long and very silly.

Momo x Okarun

If it were up to me, I'd name their child Tou. Why?

Well. You. See! Okarun's real name is Ken, written as 健 - meaning 'health' or 'strength'. However, 'ken' is also how you pronounce the word for 'sword' - written as 剣. This refers broadly to swords of many varieties. A more specific word would be 'katana', written as 刀, which refers to Japanese-style blades in particular. Another way of pronouncing 刀 is 'tou'.

Momo's name means 'peach' and is written as 桃. An alternate way of pronouncing 桃 is also 'tou'. Furthermore, the word 'momo' is also one way to read 百, the kanji for the number 100... as in the number of kilometers an hour a certain old lady can run.

So Tou feels like a wonderful name to me, as it loops all in and around Momo and Ken's names and even Turbo Granny to boot. It's a masculine name, but I feel like they'd still go with Tou even for a girl. A very tough girl!!

Aira x Jiji

Whether these two end up becoming a proper pairing in-series remains to be seen, but I've become totally hooked on them recently ^^;; and they're both so good with kids, I can imagine them having two or three... but I think the first one should be Buyuu.

Aira's name is written as 愛羅, which is a nod to the phrase 愛羅武勇 - read as 'I love you', or アイラブユー (ai ra bu yuu) - said as if one were speaking in English, rather than the Japanese line 'aishiteru' for example. A very fun line that showcases Aira's passionate side!

'Buyuu' would make for a very nice boy name to match his mother, written of course as 武勇 to follow Aira's 愛羅. Jiji is a fun and sentimental guy, so I think he'd be fully on board with this kind of wordplay!

武勇 can also be read on its own to mean 'bravery', 'military prowess' or 'valour'. Jiji's real name is Jin, written as 仁 and means 'benevolence', 'compassion', 'charity' etc. - while not directly related, 'jin' and 'buyuu' both point towards virtuous qualities that often go hand-in-hand. Buyuu refers to warrior-like traits especially, which also serves as a nod to Jiji's power both with and without the Evil Eye.

I can certainly think up good names for more kids too... but let's move on for now >///<

Kinta x Vamola

This ship might be a bit polarizing, but I honestly think they'd be so sweet together once they have time to grow! Another reading for Vamola is Bamora, written either way as バモラ - neither reading is right or wrong from a technical standpoint, but I prefer Vamola as it sounds more alien to my ears.

It also matches with Vega, which is the name I'd choose for her and Kinta's daughter!

Vega is the brightest star in the Lyra constellation, and is known in Japan as 織姫 or 'Orihime' - as in Orihime from the popular folktale of Tanabata. The story is about two lovers (Orihime and Hikoboshi) who are separated by the Milky Way and can only meet on the 7th day or the 7th month. A lonely maiden from the stars... almost like a certain alien girl!

But the connections don't stop there. Sakata Kinta (坂田金太) also happens to be a folktale reference! 'Kintarou' (金太郎) is the name of a very famous figure in Japanese myth, particularly known for slaying the fearsome oni overlord Shuten-douji. He also may or may not have served Minamoto no Yoshitsune under the name of Sakata Kintoki (坂田 金時). Folktale father, folktale daughter.

Kinta is such a bombastic guy, Vega just might be on the normal side of his naming preferences... but I think Vamola would find it all very sweet and moving. That said, Vega herself might choose to go by Orihime amongst her peers to avoid the questions and weird looks >.>

(And of course, if they had a son it'd be Altair instead!)

S1-7 Jay was A know it all smartass With The Wits and Knowledge To match That energy to show that he wasn’t a pushover. Comic relief sure But Jay was the most capable of all the Ninja and it showed.

In the Oni trilogy Every ninja Mellowed out But Jay Still retained some of his character traits.

Literally going delusional, Designing and Building a flying Machine out of scrap metal that could also breath fire Then decided to propose to his love While they were mere seconds away from dying.

Enter, the 11 minute era.

The 11 Minute era Completely screwed over his character, And while that could be said for almost Every Ninja, Jay got it the worst; Showing us only the Incompetent Dumbass side of his character instead. Becoming only a one note comic relief with nothing more.

Prime empire also did jackshit for his character and to add insult to injury, The idea of Libber being Trapped in the game was scrapped entirely; Which is a shame because it would have been so interesting.

Master of the Mountain showed even more incompetence with the Queen of the Munce; And while he had his moments in both Seabound and Crystalized The damage was already done.

Dragons rising However, is trying To Fix his character With the Whole amnesiac Agent who will be fighting the Ninja in part 2 and I for one cannot fucking wait to see this.

Please god Just make him good again 😭

Little Garm in DR!!!!!!!

Ok but seriously I think of this a bit too much, just, imagine Garm somehow becoming a kid, 'future' memories lost and all that. He wakes up with a sort of clear mind (no venom) and last thing he remembers are a bunch of lights and colors. He has no idea where he is or what happened. Luckily, only a few days pass by for Garmadon to find the monastery. The empty and somewhat different looking monastery.. Which proves not to be so empty when he finds out a green colored stranger was there!

Lots of confusion ensues.

Garmadon doesn't really trust Lloyd but doesn't do anything either because he's apparently an elemental master and trained ninja. That must mean something! Besides, he feels some weird kind of connection to this random guy... Like this stranger is not a complete stranger. In an odd, unique way.

Yeah. Lloyd doesn't tell him he's his son. As much as it hurts. Because Garm's, well, a kid and they just(? met. And he'd feel more stressed. This is his father, just, younger... Much younger. And he doesn't remember Lloyd either which is, ok, ouch, but also makes a lot of sense. Also, last time they saw each other their relationship wasn't the best! Ugh! Why do these things happen to him?!

At first it would be very awkward of course. Garmadon would have questions and Lloyd would answer them the best way he could, maybe when the questions get personal answers might become pretty vague but hey, it's still the truth!

Kid Garmadon with his venom-free mind would be upset with the things he did and said and would miss his little brother. Eventually he'd open up to the only person there, Lloyd, who would try to reassure and comfort him, an act too familiar.. (Cough, Sensei G, cough cough)

Maybe after that little Garm would begin to trust Lloyd. Maybe. Also, what is he even searching for all day? (Anything about the merge and how to get Garm back to being his abnormally normal self)

Somehow, through unconsciousness Garmadon gets some of his memories back. But he's still not himself. So... He experiments a little

L: *Stops whatever he was doing to look at Garm* What? No, no, of course not! Why would I- why do you- no!

Mannn, I can think of so many ways this au could give some angst. and fluff. Especially this: imagine little Garmadon seeing his emperor self in a dream or something like that and then he starts getting his Oni traits and it freaks him out knowing what he's possibly gonna turn into. And Lloyd knows that feeling all too well... At first he has no idea what to do because he still hasn't accepted his own Oni side, but what if he eventually begins to accept it through trying to help his lil dad?? What if he mentions a certain Oni friend?? (Mystake) Whaat if wbat if AGHH They both deserve a hug. And they'll both seek each other for it!!!!

Meet Desmond and his Half-Sister Issaya

They both based of some OC of mine, that are originally not part of Guild Wars 2. I maybe upload them here, too. I'm currently working on their ref. sheets.

Their Tyria!AU Counterparts inherited some traits: They both shapeshifters and their glow change depending on their emotions. White being neutral. So,... they might look like Sylvari, but aren't actually one.

They both music, loving dorks - Desmond being the more mischief one and brings the brain (a lot actually). While Issaya is more the silent one, but brings the muscles or at least better fighting skills.

Some Original AU Ramble below the cut:

Like I mentioned they both based of some OC outside the GW2 world - the same one to whom Valefor, Neeve and Kying belongs.

Desmond also being one of my oldest OCs. (He is 15 years old,... holy. I just checked. He went through some changes over the years.) I recently decided to give him a half-Sister. The reason is a little long to explain,... but it has some important meaning for me.

Issaya herself is part Oni - same species as Valefor. I haven't made up my mind about possible connections of the Siblings and Valefor & Co. But I thought it would be a nice twist having Isa being part Oni. It came with the idea of giving her a "curse" - being an urge. (Inspired by Durge from Baldurs Gate)

Now its just the instinct of an Oni that sometimes kick in.

Sadly I don't have an name yet for their species. But they basically mischief creatures that have the ability to shapeshift into different creatures. And they're like mood stones - they partly change colors depending on their mood.

And sidenote: I renamed my Charr Desmond to Deamourn. He once was the insert for this old OC. But over the time he changed into his very own character. The only thing the Charr!Desmond and original!Desmond had in common was their love for colorful hair. So now he got his own name.

If NFCV were a well written show, I would praise the design of N!Hector's Styrian uniform, and what it conveys.

N!Hector's original uniform is a simplified version of Hector's, but due to them being very different characters, the details don't fit him.

Every detail of this uniform conveys something precise. The armor on his chest and boots make him look combat-prepared, as well as the arm guard and the single glove on the hand he uses to wield weapons. He wears dark colors and a general bat motif to tie him to Dracula. Then, there is the sash, a bright spot of red that breaks his dark palette: not only that is Isaac's color, tying the two together, but it can be seen as symbolizing Hector's brash, emotional personality. He's not a "true" Blue Oni like his appearance would suggest, after all. A nice visual cue.

The sash was kept on N!Hector, and for some reason, it was made a very important part of his design. While N!Isaac also has it, suggesting at first that it's part of their not-uniform, N!Hector is nevertheless seen with it in the past:

No matter what, he has to wear that bright spot of red.

Why so? N!Hector has very little of Hector's personality. He certainly isn't nowhere near as belligerent as our Hector in CoD. But more than the blues, more than the bat motif, he has to be associated with the sash.

The Devil Forgemaster uniform ill fits N!Hector as a character: he's not a fighter, he's not combat ready, N!Isaac wears a completely different and even darker uniform which makes N!Hector look only messy. However, I'm willing to salvage the sash for this reason:

While being naive, Hector is stoic in the face of hardships that befall him. Lenore found it nice that even "beaten down a dozen different ways," Hector doesn't give up on himself.

It was... terribly, awfully, incompetently conveyed, but there is a kernel of truth in Lenore's manipulation here. N!Hector has the spine and moral compass of a wet sheet of paper, but he doesn't cry or wallow in misery, and there have been very rare times where he fought back. In S2, while N!Dracula and N!Isaac were so close to dropping the R-slur on him, N!Hector was working with Carmilla behind their backs to pursue his goal: sure, he was being manipulated by her, but he was the one who decided N!Dracula wasn't good for him and he would rather save himself. And, of course, his background is that he set his own parents on fire as revenge for their abuse, and he accepted to put humanity into pens as more or less punishment for how he was treated.

Again. Too inconsistent to be seen as an intended character trait. But very generously, one can see N!Hector as being smarter and more willing to fight back than people assume of him. And it can be seen in the choice of him wearing a red sash ever since he was a child.

All of this preamble to finally reach his Styrian uniform in S4:

That is a very nice, elegant uniform, that keeps the original silhouette (look at the pointy shoulders) but removes all the clutter that doesn't fit N!Hector. He has two gloves! He looks protected, but also looks like a smith, not a knight!

But notice the palette.

He's black, with dashes of blue and silver. Silver? Well, Styria's livery is black with white trim. It fits, but silver doesn't quite stand out like gold did.

He also lacks any sort of red on him now.

Red is a bold color that represents strength and vigor, and for how nice his uniform looks, N!Hector is still supposed to be a slave - or worse, a pet. He's meant to look meek, demure, blending in. Professional, but lacking any sort of personality: the role N!Hector was tricked and beaten into. A subtle humiliation in his comfy living conditions.

Which, of course, works to the advantage of someone who is once again plotting behind his jailer's backs :) N!Hector still holds onto that splash of red inside him.

... But I'm putting way too much thought into this. We all know how rushed and slapdashed S4 was, and how N!Hector at the end of the day has zero personality and his plan wasn't even for himself, and how the writing refuses to remember how N!Hector was abused into slavery. The idea was that N!Hector is stronger than he seems, but the reality of the writing is that he's a weak-willed victim who did everything in his power to crawl back to the people who hurt him.

Let's be honest: we all know the real reason he wears blue and black without red now.

In S3, Lenore wore a full black dress with blue trim and white fur, which was meant to make him look like a "winter princess" or a "princess in mourning", but really didn't fit her at all, much like her character is basically three concepts stitched together. For S4, she changes into a quite cute blue and black dress that better goes with the idea of her being a melancholic princess.

You don't need a master in cinematography to get the Symbolism™. Lenore is N!Hector's only characterization, after all.

(funnily enough I could also point out N!Isaac dressing in bright blue in S4. But it's a completely different symbolism, for him: get it, he has found peace.)

The Lightning Dragon of the First Realm Lore/Headcanons Pt1.

The Lightning Dragon is considered to be the youngest Elemental Dragon species to have been birthed by Firstbourne right alongside the Wind Dragon. As the story goes, it is said that the first Sky Dragons were birthed when Firstbourne learned to take flight for the first time to battle against an evil that threatened to consume the Oni, the Eclispan's and the Dragons.

There are many other stories, too, all of them with different teachings and meanings that are meant to aid future generations. Another famous story is of an elderly female and a young male who lost their mates that is meant to teach acceptance and that love can be given in various forms.

Even to the present day, these stories are told by Lightning Dragons across the Merged Realmsto the next generation and anyone who wishes to know their story. (Wisp often loved pretending to be Thunderfang whenever he acted out the story during his time as guardian over the Shuriken of Ice, and Jiro has a soft spot for the two Lightning Dragons story).

Every two years, a gathering in the First Realm is held for Lightning Dragon's across the realms during the stormiest season. Flocks and families will often come to partake in different fesitvities that are overseen by the residental ones. Songs and dances are engaged in, stories are shared, and more.

The first and last "Arc" Lightning Dragon in the First Realm was Thunderfang, who died in the Oni and Dragon war to the Oni Warlord of Despair: Avarice. There has never been an Arc Dragon after that, as Firstbourne fills the role of one to the "Primordial."

Though it's said that the spines that go between the shoulder and legs are Thunderfangs last gift to them, as they were a unique trait to her alone.

Lightning Dragons are brutal combatants when it comes to fighting. They're known to constrict around adversaries and use the death by a thousand cuts approach, their spines razor sharp and able to cut easily plus sharp teeth and claws. Additionally, they often paralyze their prey to speed up the process.

While other Variants of Lightning often eat metals and specific foods to aid their use of electricity, the ones in the First Realm do not need to eat such. Instead, they have a conductor in their jaws that allows them to hold electricity there and call upon it immediately.

While the trait isn't specific to them only, much like Jay Walker and Jiro- they can absorb electricity from other sources and redirect it/contain it. Though, in comparison, the ones of the First Realm can use it in various colors, from white to blue to purple or pink. Depends on the individual.

Lightning Dragons in the First Realm only really learn how to fly once they're sub-adults. As they do not have enough of a "pull" to allow themselves to fly, they simply can't control it at the younger stages. So they stay on the ground to prevent injuring themselves.

And.. That's about all I can really think of for this girls half. Admittedly, I struggled a fair bit with the redesign- but Im semi-content with how it came out.

I think post DOTD Cole still deserves to be at least a tiny bit affected by his time as a ghost yk

Explanations!!

Ngl the fact that Cole literally defied life and death and we never talk about it makes me sad like cmon it’s so interesting we give Lloyd Oni dragon features and Nya water features but we NEVER talk about when Cole literally transcended the barrier of ACTUAL DEATH. He should get more than a scar that vanishes afterwards and some cool powers SO IM GIVING HIM IT because this fandom has a criminal lack of ghost Cole content

So yeah here’s my explanations for each thingy plus my headcanons slash fanon

first one is self explanatory, Kai’s worried about Cole because the guy was dead and came back to life, Cole denies it (no it’s not ship but idm if ur a lavashipper and want it to be ship you can tag it if you wanna) because he’s Cole ofc he’s gonna deny it he’s an idiot. Meanwhile we go on to list alll the ways it’s most definitely 100% affecting him.

first one. the Cole vision. BASICALLY I follow the theory ghosts have different eyes, and when designing those eye, I take inspiration from lizard eyes. A lot of lizards, particularly nocturnal ones, not only have good night vision but can also see many more colors than humans, so I applied that to ghost eyes as well, essentially sight is one of their few senses that aren’t muted. They have night vision and can also see a much broader spectrum of color than humans can.

Since Cole has his scar on the left side, he also gets a ghost eye on the left side, which still has all the advantages he did as a ghost. On the other hand, his right eye is back to usual, meaning it doesn’t get those advantages and he’s still red/green colorblind in it. That means his left and right vision is pretty different now, which takes quite a lot of getting used to. Obviously this would be easier to show with a colored thing but it was. Hard to color for obvious reasons (you can’t demonstrate someone being able to see more colors than humans because we will always interpret it as a color we can see due to how we filter it) the ghost eye stays his entire life and there’s not really anything he can do about it.

Onto the arm - the markings are essentially burn marks / scars from his lava arms, and his nails are claws. I see ghosts as getting less and less human as time goes on because they forget who they were and what they looked like, therefore being incapable of mimicking a human form. Because Cole was around the ninja he never got far, but he did end up with some intrinsic ghost traits that carried over, like the claws. He has tried cutting them but it basically requires a massive claw clipper and even then they grow back very quickly and you can still see that they’re claws, they’re just less obnoxiously sharp. He usually opts to hide them with gloves a lot of the time. The claws are also permanent, but he can regularly trim them to be less obvious and also less annoying and more manageable.

The one where he’s scared of water is. Self explanatory. Obviously he has a big fear of water after coming back from the dead. Even just a few drops can send him into a panic attack. It gets better eventually with exposure therapy, though it may still cause him to be anxious around it at times.

most people have already done the “Cole runs into doors and walls after coming back from being a ghost lol” but like. It makes sense. So.

Right. Onto the ANGSTTTT.

“Everything is too much” refers to his sensory issues. Now obviously Cole is autistic /lh so he’s always had some sensory issues, but oh boy. Getting the ability to feel literally everything instantly after so long of not having it whatsoever?? Yikes. Pretty much everything is obnoxiously and incredibly overwhelming to him. it goes back to the usual after a lot of help from his family, though! :)

“But also”. Aka the image of him looking out at the stars. Lot more vague. Interpret it as you wish. There’s a few intended meanings to it but go ahead and figure them out for yourself. I will say that going with the idea that it’s dissociation related, he has a tendency to dissociate a lot after coming back (which is strange since he used to be pretty grounded). It never really goes away.

”Too little” ok so this one DEFINITELY needs explanation. I talked about how he’s overwhelmed. Well. Sometimes he’ll have bouts where it’s the exact opposite. He’ll suddenly feel a cold chill followed by a spreading numbness. Sometimes it’s just his hand, or his arm, other times it’s his entire body. It’s basically a psychological thing, sort of like phantom limbs except instead of a feeling where there is an absence, it’s more of an absence where there should be a feeling. Of course it’s absolutely terrifying for him, but the others eventually learn how to help ground him when it happens. Over time It gets less frequent but it doesn’t go away.

Anyways yeah that’s all I just. Think there should not only be more ghost Cole content but also. More post ghost Cole. He’s gotta be impacted SOMEHOW. Right.

What are your thoughts on each of the Ninja? I'm just curious

Ooooo okokok this is going to be so long, I'm going to explain my first impression of them when I was a child and how it has changed over time.

Cole: I really didn't care much about Cole when I saw the series for the first time, like, as I remember he was my least favorite character on the team and he seemed boring to me. Now? Easily my favorite ninja. It's funny because of the team it's easily the one I identify with the most in terms of personality. I LOVE how most of his arcs have to do with the potential of his elemental powers, probably one of the ninjas who has grown the most in terms of skills over the course of the series. I know I don't talk much about the way they develop him and how much he matures throughout the series, especially how he becomes more and more open with the team, but he is one of my favorite characters.

Zane: I always liked Zane and he always remained my second favorite ninja. One of the parts I like most about his development is how he becomes more confident and sassy, especially in the new seasons. What I do not like is how many other ninjas's jokes about him are limited to "Zane, we need to adjust your honest/sarcasm ciurcuits", etc. It gets pretty tiring and somewhat contradicts the whole point of his character to be reminded that he's a nindroid when the whole point is that he actually sometimes ends up being a lot more human than everyone else but that's it. (ALSO Why did the writers forget that he had a falcon?)

Lloyd: sooo Lloyd is a complicated one because I don't really have strong feelings about his character. I guess one thing that kept me away every time I rewatched the show was thinking that he's like they put every cliche of a protagonist in a blender and most of his arcs feel that "predictable" when you compare him to the others. BUT I like what they are doing with his character on DR and I think it is his best season so far, SO definitely in DR it is more entertaining to see his development and his relationship with the kids.

Kai: Kai is a character that for me... is fine, I don't love him too much like most of the fandom. Again I think that in DR they are doing justice to his character since he feels that in Wildbrainera he was quite forgettable as if the creators didn't know what to do with him (like, I'm not a fan of his arc in S11 because we have definitely seen that lesson a Lot of times). I really love the development of him anyway and his relationship with Nya & Lloyd is one of the best parts of the series.

Nya: I'm going to be honest, I only started to like Nya in S9, before that with the sexist way the writers wrote her in the first seasons when I first saw the series I found her annoying (and S3 and S6 didn't help) . I think her character definitely improved after the Oni trilogy onwards because the creators began to give her REAL CHARACTER FLAWS and take her more seriously because then I started to like her character more.

Jay: soo, when I saw the series for the first time Jay instantly became my favorite ninja. I liked that there was a balance between the sarcastic jokes and the fact that he would then do something surprising like being the first to do spinjitsu, being a genius on roller skates, him shooting in space, etc. It's those moments in which he proved to be the thinker outside the box of the team that were very entertaining along with his humor, his powers, the duality in which he could be a bastard, an idiot and a genius at the same time was what made him that was my favorite on the team

Now, I'm not a fan of Jay when it comes to the new seasons where they basically removed all the traits I'm listing and turned him into a man child who only makes pee jokes. They literally took away EVERYTHING that made him a useful member of the team, he is a completely different character that really the only thing he has is... he is just the "uwu guy on the team". Honestly, it could be a whole essay explaining how I hate Jay from S11 onwards but I'll just leave it at that I hope DR gives him real development (and for a change it doesn't have to do with Nya)

InuKag Week 2024 Day 1 - July 1. Yearning @inukag-week

∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙ Inuyasha ponders about Kagome's strange acceptance of his demonic traits. ∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙-∙ This little snippet is set in my unreleased WIP Inuyasha Fan-Comic ‘Why am I the Dog-Eared Jerk?’ and is not planned to be cannon to the comic. Inuyasha and Kagome regularly swap bodies in this comic, so there won’t be too many references to them swapping in the ‘fic.

As for why I was very late in getting around to posting this, I was working on a fanart for Day 3 – Bickering. I only just finished it and am only now completing the fanfics for InuKag Week.

Really, of all the things Inuyasha thought would come of their little body-swapping situation, finding out that someone was unbothered with being half demon wasn’t one of them. Even Kikyo found his demon side disgusting on some level, despite her compassion for his plight, but this Kagome girl, who didn’t even know what a half-demon was and didn’t think he was sub-human for just being born, plainly didn’t care about him being a monster.

Who would even think like that?

Apparently Kagome did, because she’d been off jumping from tree to tree somewhere in the forest nearby for most of the afternoon, laughing her head off. Earlier, after they’d finished killing off the hair oni that attacked the village yesterday, he’d asked why she was more bothered by being stuck in a boy’s body than by being stuck in the body of a demon, she’d replied with a, “Why would it?”

Kagome was definitely an odd duck, that was for sure. Despite everything, she was still trying to be his friend.

If he was being honest with himself, he had to admit that he kinda liked her unconditional acceptance of his demon traits as being a non-issue. It felt nice to have someone not look down on him for being born different.
