Happy International Dog Day 2024!
We love this elegant (and absolutely RIPPED) dog waiting patiently as he waits to receive his name from the biblical Adam. Or perhaps he is just hanging out, waiting until Adam is done with the naming so a game of fetch can begin.

I MADE A PRESSURE OC BECAUSE IM OBSESSED AND I CAN :P
PLEASE DONT REPOST 🙏
Reblogs are appreciated!!💙
Z-23 Codename - THE ELECTROLIGHT
A human that was apart of experiments including, giving humans gills, the electronic abilities of an electric Eel and the strength and speed of a killer whale / Orca
Real name : lucian Davis.
Was imprisoned and sent for an execution after attacking his parents, brutally injuring their father and killing their mother for ‘mistreatment’ in his youth. However *Urbanshade* swooped them up to be apart of their human experiments, declaring them dead afterwards to the public.
Z-23 is pretty active. You can encounter them when in parts of the facility that are submerged underwater, Or in the Let-Vand zone. You can hear them by the electricity emissions from their hands. If you do not hide quick enough they will proceed to chase you untill you get out of the water. If encountered in the Let-Vand Zone, they will only come after you if you swim too far from the light. They can be stunned temporarily if you flash them with a Beacon, they are sensitive to the flash and will cause them to freeze up and have to deal with a temporary shock from the built up electricity in there body.
If caught by Z-23, they will shock you, injuring you with electricity. They are Strong. You have very little chance of escaping them once they catch you. You have a slim chance of escaping by fighting out of there grasp or using a flash beacon on them.
NOTE: using a flash beacon on him enrages him, causing the electo parts of his body to glow more and more with each flash. Doing it too much (4 times in a row within the same encounter) causes the electricity to burst. Making the water electrified for a moment.

But before he can complete his training in the ways of the Code of Life, Hunter is sent on a mission far more dangerous than he ever bargained for. Now with his life in peril and the future of Solandria hanging in the balance, Hunter is headed for a showdown with the Shadow and a battle to save his soul from a fate worse than death! Is Hunters knowledge of the Code deep enough to uncover the secret of the Shadow, or will the truth be more than he can bear?
Merovingen Nights by C. J. Cherryh (1985-1991)
Merovin, the world the C. J. Cherryh built, a low-tech, inhospitable planet where the human survivors of a colony nearly destroyed by an enigmatic alien menace still dwell, salvaging what they can, while awaiting the return of the alien menace or rediscovery by the Terrans who abandoned them in that long-ago terror.
And in Merovingen, the fantastic canal city, where the wealthy and powerful reside in the highest towers, and beggars, spies, thieves and boaters like Altair Jones ply the highly polluted interlacing waterways below, intrigue, thievery and revolution are the very breath of life. And now with the Festival of Scouring approaching, C. J. Cherryh has invited some of today's finest writers into Merovignen, to weave together this tale of Festival Moon, a time of mystery and murder, of power games both high and low, a Festival after which this world will never be quite the same again...
Dragonlance: The New Adventures by Tim Waggoner (2004-2008)
Nearra does not know who she is or where she lives, but she does know one thing: someone wants her dead. Her only hope lies leagues away, in an ancient temple, where healing clerics may be able to restore her memory.
A helpful young ranger, a failed warrior, a sneaky elf, and a kender wizard offer to accompany Nearra on her journey. She soon learns her newfound friends have secrets of their own. As goblins, an angry minotaur, and a vicious green dragon attempt to stop them at every turn, friendships are tested and all of if may come to ruin from the one Nearra trusts the most.
Creature Court by Tansy Rayner Roberts (2010-2018)
A war is being fought in the skies over the city of Aufleur. No one sees the battles. No one knows how close they come to destruction every time the sun sets.
During daylight, all is well, but when nox falls and the sky turns bright, someone has to step up and lead the Creature Court into battle.
Twelve years ago, Garnet kissed Velody and stole her magic. Five years ago, he betrayed Ashiol, and took his powers by force. But now the Creature Court is at a crossroads … they need a Power and Majesty who won’t give up or lose themselves in madness …
Spellbound by Vivian Vande Velde (1997-1998)
Welland was less than a slave. Slaves are human, and he was wolf, allowed to assume human form only when it suited the sorceress Daria.
Daria kept an army of changelings mostly wolf but some lynx or weasel, a bear or two, and at least one rat. She used them to hunt and kill. And sometimes to pretend to be human, so she could pretend to be a lady.
Weiland hated the lie almost as much as he hated the truth. Then he met a burglar, a thief named Shile, who offered to help him steal what he had never owned. His own troubled soul...
Welkin Weasels by Garry Kilworth (1997-2003)
Long ago, long before Sylver the weasel was born, the humans all left Welkin. Now life for a weasel—under the heavy paw of the vicious stoat rulers—is pretty miserable (unless you happen to be a weasel who likes living in a hovel and toiling all hours for the benefit of the stoats).
It's certainly not enough for Sylver. Or for his small band of outlaws, both jacks and jills. but slingshots and darts can only do so much against heavily-armed stoats and life as an outlaw has a fairly limited future (probably a painful one, too). That's when Sylver comes up with his plan—a heroic plan that could destroy the stoats' reign of power for ever. He will find the humans, and bring them back to Welkin! And the first step is to follow up a clue from the past—a clue that lies in a place known as Thunder Oak...
Evergreen by Devin Greenlee (2024)
All seventeen-year-old Quill wants is a break from the family business. Flowers, plants, the generations-old garden. What he wouldn’t give for a taste of the outside world. Normalcy. But his mom won’t let him out of the house, telling him he’s just not ready…
All because he’s a dryad. Well, not just any dryad, but a male dryad—the first ever. And unlike everyone else in his family, he hasn’t a lick of magic. Just a shock of green hair, matching green eyes, and a growing frustration that there’s an entire world out there waiting to be discovered. Until the night when the outside world—specifically his new neighbor—discovers him.
Liam Watson lives in a culture filled with electronics, mobile devices, and social media—where there is no magic or even the belief in it. And as much as Quill finds Liam irritating (he’s so cute it’s annoying), he can’t help himself.
Now Quill’s getting a taste of the outside world and of Liam…and he wants more. But all is not well in this magical, urban garden, and someone—or something—is changing the very essence of it.
And wherever Quill goes, the danger grows…
Unicorns of the Mist by R. R. Russell (2013-2014)
Deep in the heart of a mist-shrouded island, an impossible secret is about to be discovered.
Twig is used to feeling unwanted. Sent to live on a pony ranch for "troubled" girls on a misty, haunted island, Twig is about to discover the impossible — someone who needs her. Jolted awake from a bad dream, Twig follows the desperate whinny of a terrified horse out to the stables. There in the straw is a bleating little scrap of moonbeam. A silver-white filly with cloven hooves and a tiny, spiraling horn.
A baby unicorn.
Now Twig knows what secret is hiding in the island's mist: the last free unicorn herd. And a mysterious boy named Ben who insists that this impossible creature is now Twig's to care for. That she needs Twig's love and protection. Because there's something out there in the deep, dense shadows that's hunting for them...
Chronicles of Avilesor by Sara A. Noe (2020-2021)
Cato is the only true half-human, half-ghost hybrid in existence. He's powerful and unique with two divine powers instead of one.
The United States government believes he is the key to developing a devastating weapon that will give humankind an advantage when war inevitably erupts between the Human Realm and Avilésor, the Ghost Realm.
After being an unwilling test subject in Project Alpha for two years, Cato and the rest of his "lab-family" survive a transport accident to find themselves stranded and powerless in the middle of the wilderness. Hunted every step of the way by ghostly Shadow Guards with supernatural abilities and human Agents desperate to recapture their prisoners, the eight young fugitives are drawn to Cato's hometown where the Rip between Realms connects the worlds.
Cato wants nothing to do with his past, but as his enemies close in, he realizes he's willing to do anything to protect his lab-family . . .
. . . even kidnap the daughter of a ghost hunter and make a dangerous deal to become a mercenary.

Trolls, goblins, ogres and giants ... all after one thing. But Jack's got no clue what. He needs some allies, like now. A wizard maybe. Or a High Fairy. Someone who can do serious magic. Someone who can help him get home. Anyone. Just not a dreamy young boggart named Spiggot...

Did I ever post my Pressure OC? Probably not
Well, here she is!
Info under the cut
If you can’t see in the corner, her name is Nori. The sea creatures she was infused with were as followed:
- Atlantic ghost crab
- Whale shark
- Koi fish
- Beta fish
- Lemon shark
She was tested on for genetic study, which is why she has so many patterns on her. The basic idea was: “What’ll she look like when we infuse all these colorful creatures into her?”
Her backstory is pretty straightforward lol - She was a higher rank working for Urbanshade and she was the second tester to get gills infused into her body while the surgery was still getting ironed out, which meant that there was a mutation. She was slowly developing extra limbs and her legs were beginning to fuse together. Very. Slowly.
Eventually, she told an elite about this and instead of getting medical help, they just demoted her to an experiment, took away her duties and privileges in the company, and got tossed into a cell.
Her number is Z-38
While Sebastian was getting his tests, the company was figuring out what to do with Nori. The breach that he caused was actually during a test to infuse an electric eel into her body, which was obviously cut off before the DNA could get injected. The scientists died to anglers rushing through the side rooms and Nori’s containment area was broken.
After the breach and the chaos died down, she met the p.AI.nter, who directed her to Sebastian.
Sebastian was getting his little hideout ready for living in when Nori crawled through the vent. Sebastian was aware of her, but had never met her. He eventually, and very reluctantly, lets her stay with him because she’d die if he didn’t.
If she was in the game, she would be on the balcony next to Sebastian’s head, sleeping. If the player shakes a gummylight in the shop enough times, she’ll wake up and follow them to the Ridge. Until then, she’ll kill wall dwellers and warn the player of Pinkie and fake doors.
She’s generally pretty lazy and often will complain when someone wakes her up. Otherwise, she’s really helpful and despises wall dwellers with a passion.
Her design was made up as I went honestly. The webbed fingers, dot on her tail, and the necklace were all just “Hmm, what if I did this?” But I gave them ✨significance✨
Bandages - She was badly wounded before the breach and Urbanshade refused to clean her up so she has multiple dirty bandages on her body. Some of them are for open wounds, others are just to cover her.
Necklace - She was engaged to a woman back up on the surface (She’s lesbian) and like a lot of headcanons about Sebastian’s ring, she eventually outgrew it and put it on a piece of string to remember her fiancé.
Extra arms - crab
Dot on her tail - Koi fish
Lines on her waist - stretch marks from her tail forming
Scarf - It’s cold as shit down in the Blacksite, I’d think
Six eyes - “Hmm, what if I did this?” And it stuck
Blue hair - Genetic alteration and also her human form kinda had grayish-blue hair. No she’s not old, she’s 24.
Extra stuff
- Her ear fins align with her emotions
- She absolutely has favorite Expendables… when she’s awake to see them.
- She will absolutely gossip with Painter and Sebastian
- She enjoys swimming, but only when it’s with Sebastian or Eyefestation. No way she’s going out into the Let-Vand Zone alone!
- Her top speed in the water is about 15 mph (24 km per hour) because of her whale shark and lemon shark DNA mixing together (Whale sharks can only go up to 3 mph and lemon sharks can go up to 25 mph)
- The Good People scare her
- She was an aspiring author when she was a human but worked as a marine biologist because her dad desperately wanted her to be one
Okay thanks for reading my ramble :D

Welcome!
So- we (@eventide-triptych) decided to make a blog for all of our miscellaneous Pressure OCs! Really not much more to say, so let's get on to the characters! This post will be updated soon, and separated into individual linked posts for each character! MR. JACKSON PELAGOS: - Head of Urbanshade's Public Relations Department. - Transmasc. - Somewhere around 36 years old at least physically. - Ironically, despite his name and job, Jackson is afraid of water. - Can't be visually perceived by most beings, voice seems to distort or glitch when experiencing intense emotions. - Possibly an eldritch entity of some sort, although he was definitely human at some point in time. - Very close to Mr. Shade. - Adept in manipulation, capable of controlling minds and emotions.
COMMANDER KAI REID: - Commander of Squadron NIGHTFALL, a highly-trained and anomalously-empowered task force equivalent to @jester-pressure's Squadron DAYBREAK, although specializing in external operations rather than internal ones, and utilizing energy-based powers rather than ones acquired from the genes of the entities within the Blacksite. - Expert on the various entities within the Hadal Blacksite. - AFAB non-binary (they/them pronouns). - Both parents are Urbanshade employees. - Kai is capable of respawning, manipulating light for a variety of effects, and conjuring objects out of 'thin air' (in actuality manipulating molecules to produce objects). - They have something of a rivalry with Quinn Larkinson (@nostarshere).
THE ARCHON OF THE LET-VAND: - Formerly EXR-P #908, now a living embodiment of the Let-Vand Zone. - The process by which a human can be turned into such an entity is currently unknown, but Urbanshade is currently researching how to use this phenomenon for their own benefit. - Extremely powerful reality warper, engage with caution. - Restricted to the Let-Vand Zone, cannot leave it or perceive the world outside of it. - Responds to 'Ashton Nox' or variants thereof. This is presumed to be the entity's original name. - Hostile towards Urbanshade personnel, neutral towards entities that aren't native to the Let-Vand Zone, friendly towards Expendables and entities that are native to the Let-Vand.
DR. ELLIOT ‘ELLI’ RAST: - A scientist, formerly working for one of Urbanshade’s rival groups. Nobody but Urbanshade’s highest ranking members know of their former allegiance. - Kidnapped by Urbanshade agents, mutated with the DNA from multiple supernatural entities as well as mundane animals and conditioned to be obedient (but not loyal) to Urbanshade. - Bigender and intersex, he/she/it pronouns. - Full extent of mutations and abilities won’t be revealed just yet, as even she doesn’t know. - Despite his disdain for Urbanshade, he does enjoy some of the experiments he carries out, as long as the subjects are ‘deserving’ in his eyes. - Despises Commander Kai Reid. Totally doesn't have a crush on them. (Blatant lies.) DAKOTA MORRIGAN: - An Expendable enhanced with the DNA of an electric eel, capable of controlling electricity. - Transgender man, demisexual panromantic. - Half-African American, has a scar on his face. - Has scopophobia, is understandably terrified of Eyefestation. - Friendly with the Clockwork Serpent, although he doesn't know much about the entity. - Convicted of murder. It was in self-defense, but the courts didn't see it that way. - He wears gloves to conceal burn scars on their hands, which he got when he was first learning how to control his electricity. THE CLOCKWORK SERPENT: - A massive (think slightly bigger than a Trenchbleeder) serpentine entity made up of mechanical parts taken from machinery all around the Blacksite. - Extremely intelligent, has unrestricted access to all of Urbanshade's files due to being connected to their private networks. - Neutral to other beings, doesn't really care about the conflict between Urbanshade and the entities of the Blacksite. However, it does find pleasure in messing with anyone utilizing the security systems of the Blacksite. - Can control the turrets, security cameras, and intercoms, as well as really any type of technology. Communicates primarily using the intercom system and emails. - Camera systems and recording devices glitch out when they see or hear it. - Urbanshade has no information on it beyond a few descriptions from Expendables. - Can’t die, will simply remanifest in a new machine in the exceedingly unlikely event that someone manages to destroy its current body. - It sees you. RULES: - No NSFW asks. - No offensive language. - Please specify which character your question is directed towards. - Magic anons are allowed! - Have fun!
ASKS ARE OPEN!

⭐your fairy tale lm montgomery fic!! :D
Thank you @batrachised!
For The True Name, I wanted to write a fantasy or fairy tale AU. That is my jam and how perfect is it for TBC when Barney is always called "gnomish" and Valancy is an elfin changeling?
I was particularly inspired by a book I had from childhood called The Rumplestilskin Problem by Vivian Vande Velde, which was different retellings of the Rumplestilskin. In my favorite version, Rumplestilskin was actually a hero who helped the miller's daughter and the king was the worst, and she falls for Rumplestilskin. So the miller's daughter leaves her terrible husband to live with the helpful elf and raise her daughter with him.
Since Rumplestilskin is a gnomish character I liked the idea of Barney taking that role. But also I didn't want Valancy to actually marry Edward Beck and have his baby! So it's a very modified, inspired-by fairy tale retelling.
One idea I kicked around was for Valancy to not use Barney's true name, and so she still had to give him her firstborn and that would be resolved by Barney also being the father. But then I was like...hmmm...I don't want Barney to feel obligated to marry Valancy or like he was keeping her from marrying someone else or whatever. And the "I did give you my firstborn" is actually a joke between the two who decided to marry and have a family, rather than a magical contract.
One of the comments I got was that it reminded them of Gail Carson Levine's fairy tale retellings which was such a huge compliment as she was my favorite author growing up and I still adore her books!

“Aangikam Bhuvanam Yasya
Vachikam Sarva vaanmayam
Ahaaryam Chandra taaradi
Tam Vande Sattwikam shivam”
I named this nritya arpana but I am not dancing here even though I already did it an hour ago. Yet, I wrote Nritya arpana because I have always felt a great connection to the dancing form of Shiva, who is none other than Nataraja, the Lord of Dance.
For any student of indian classical dance, Nataraja's presence in the dance class is very common. Even in odissi, we keep Nataraja and Jagganatha together.
My Bharatanatyam journey began in Vishakhapatnam where there was a large murti of him in front of us. He was always decorated with garlands incense sticks. The room always smelt like the premises of a temple. The murti was of copper colour with a dot (bindu) on his forehead. For a child of five, the murti had a lot of power to attract me to itself.
But then when we grow up, we tend to lose our little magical selves out. The murti which called out to me felt nothing more than a figment of imagination and fantasy, and the day such thoughts arose, dance had taken a backseat.
Shiva dances the tandava, the dance of destruction. The word destruction sounds quite negative, isn't it? But Shiva, the ever auspicious one, will always destruction obstacles and negative habits of his devotees. One day, even he did that too.
I am no special being nor a very staunch devotee who upholds all rituals and holy days. Maybe, he knew that all this while, I still had my childhood self, her curiousity and her imagination intact. Perhaps, it was he who hoped that someday soon I would be back to dancing.
And one fine day, I returned his call. This may sound something straight out of a book, but this is how I felt then and the feeling has been the same even now. I am still the same devotee of Krishna, but my relation with Nataraja, is something I can never explain in words. It feels like a fatherly energy at times, as if he will forever guide me. Shiva, who is also Adiguru, which means the first guru is also the first dancing guru for me.
A guru will lead you from a path of darkness and confusion to wisdom and light. The journey is often arduous, filled with obstacles, but the guru is the oar. He is also the boatman to carry you to your destination. In Hinduism, there is a word called dwija, which means twice born. Those who were learned, blessed with wisdom, were the dwijas, for they were born again by the blessings and teachings of their guru.
Many people think I am too devotional, while some think, I am barely any of that. Now, devotion isn't something that should be shown to the world for the sake of proving. It is something that arises from the heart. It's the soul's whisper, to help one reach the divine, the thread to be one with Him.
As a classical dancer, my puja is dance. Each time, I dance, it's an offering to him and all the deities when their respective songs are played or sung. This is why, I mentioned Nritya arpana in the title because dance is my holy offering to the gods and I am glad that I get this chance to do so.
And the Devi cannot be left out too. Nataraja and Nateshwari, the dancing couple and the dancing deitied will forever be the ones, I shall be indebted too. Dance for me is not only restricted to having some fun time, or something to destress myself out. It feels too shallow to put it that way. Years ago, it used to be like that, but no longer now.
This writing is for the one who filled the void inside my heart and my mind, for the one to whom we all will go back, to the infinite nothingness and even this present moment. I pray that may both Nataraja and Nateshwari keep showing this dance of creation and destruction, may the rhythms of ghungoos guide your path, to make you feel ananda, the ultimate bliss of life. May they destruct all your fears and vices, and may you achieve success in all your endeavours.
May you keep dancing always, and find lessons from them.
To Nataraja and Nateshwari

Inner peace and a strong sense of self are the keys to overcoming fear of death.

The divine is present in all things and can be experienced in countless ways, one of which is through the human form.

Sikhism: The Religion of Unity and Courage – A Journey of Spirituality and Justice
Sikhism, one of the world’s youngest religions, originated in the 15th century in Punjab, a region that is now divided between India and Pakistan. Founded by Guru Nanak, Sikhism rejects the caste system, idolatry, and ritualism, instead promoting equality, social justice, and direct devotion to one God. With approximately 25 million followers, it is the fifth largest religion in the world. This article explores the origins of Sikhism, its core doctrines and practices, and how it continues to inspire its followers around the world.
The Origins of Sikhism: The Teachings of Guru Nanak Sikhism was founded by Guru Nanak (1469-1539), who was born at a time of great social and religious turmoil in the Indian subcontinent, where Hinduism and Islam coexisted, often in conflict. Guru Nanak was a spiritual thinker deeply influenced by these traditions, but he believed in a new spiritual approach that transcended religious divisions.
At the age of 30, after a mystical experience while bathing in the Kali Bein River, Nanak emerged with a clear message: “There is no Hindu, there is no Muslim,” emphasizing the unity of all human beings and devotion to one God. He spent the rest of his life traveling across the Indian subcontinent, preaching a message of love, equality, and selfless service, attracting followers who would become the first Sikhs (disciples).
The Ten Gurus and the Establishment of Sikhism Following Guru Nanak, Sikhism was guided by a succession of nine Gurus, who consolidated and expanded the teachings of the faith. Each Guru played a crucial role in the spiritual, social and military development of the Sikh community:
Guru Angad (1504-1552): Created the Gurmukhi script, used to record sacred teachings. Guru Amar Das (1479-1574): Instituted the practice of "Langar", the community kitchen that provided free meals to all, regardless of their religion or social status. Guru Ram Das (1534-1581): Founded the holy city of Amritsar, which became the spiritual center of the Sikhs. Guru Arjan (1563-1606): Compiled the Adi Granth, the sacred text of Sikhism, and oversaw the construction of the Golden Temple in Amritsar. Guru Hargobind (1595-1644): Introduced the concept of Miri and Piri, representing temporal and spiritual authority, and militarized the Sikh community to defend itself from persecution. Guru Har Rai (1630-1661) and Guru Har Krishan (1656-1664): Continued the mission of peace and service, even in times of increasing conflict. Guru Tegh Bahadur (1621-1675): Defended religious freedom against Mughal oppression, sacrificing his life to protect the right of all to practice their faith. Guru Gobind Singh (1666-1708): Founded the Khalsa, a brotherhood of baptized Sikh warriors who advocated justice and equality. He declared that after him, the Guru Granth Sahib, the holy book, would be the eternal spiritual guide of the Sikhs. Fundamental Doctrines and Practices of Sikhism Sikhism is based on the belief in one God, known as Waheguru, who is formless, omniscient, and accessible to all. The core teachings of Sikhism can be summarized in three tenets:
Naam Japna (Meditation on the Name of God): Sikhs are encouraged to meditate and constantly remember God in their daily actions.
Kirat Karni (Honest Work): Earn an honest living and contribute to the well-being of society.
Vand Chakna (Sharing with Others): Practice charity and share one’s resources with those in need.
In addition to these tenets, Sikhs follow the Five Ks, symbols of identity and spiritual commitment:
Kesh (Uncut Hair): Represents acceptance of one’s natural God-given form.
Kara (Steel Bracelet): Symbolizes eternity and commitment to good deeds.
Kanga (Wooden Comb): Denotes cleanliness and order.
Kachera (Cotton shorts): A symbol of modesty and self-control. Kirpan (Small sword): Represents the fight for justice and the defense of the oppressed. The Khalsa and the Warrior Spirit of Sikhism The founding of the Khalsa by Guru Gobind Singh in 1699 was a turning point for Sikhism. Guru Gobind Singh instituted an initiation ritual in which followers pledged to uphold justice, protect the weak, and live a life of purity and spiritual discipline. Members of the Khalsa adopted the name "Singh" (lion) for men and "Kaur" (princess) for women, reflecting the equality and dignity that the faith advocates.
The Khalsa played a key role in resisting Mughal oppression and later, the Afghan invasions, establishing the Sikhs as a powerful military force in northern India. This spirit of fighting for justice remains alive in modern Sikhs, who continue to uphold the ideals of equality, freedom and courage.
The Guru Granth Sahib: The Living Scripture The Guru Granth Sahib, the Sikh holy book, is more than a collection of scriptures; it is considered the eternal guru of the Sikhs. Originally compiled by Guru Arjan, the text contains hymns and poetry from various Gurus, as well as Hindu and Muslim saints, reflecting the inclusive and universalist nature of Sikhism.
The Guru Granth Sahib is recited, sung and revered in gurdwaras (Sikh temples) around the world, where the Langar, the communal soup kitchen that offers free meals to all, symbolizing equality and selfless service, is also practiced.
Sikhism Today: A Legacy of Faith and Service Sikhism continues to be a powerful force in the lives of millions of people, particularly in the Punjab region, but also in significant communities in North America, Europe and elsewhere. Sikhs are known for their spirit of community service, compassion and advocacy for human rights. In modern times, Sikhs continue to face challenges, including discrimination and misunderstandings about their faith and identity. However, Sikhs’ commitment to social justice, equality and service remains unwavering, reflecting the timeless teachings of their Gurus. Sikhism offers the world a model of practical spirituality and social activism, advocating a way of life that unites spiritual devotion with the moral responsibility to fight injustice. Sikhism’s message of unity, courage and compassion continues to resonate, offering a beacon of hope in an often divided world. Sikhism, with its roots in a period of great religious upheaval, has transcended time as a vibrant faith that preaches equality, advocacy for justice and devotion to one God. As they face the challenges of the modern world, Sikhs remain true to the values of their Gurus, inspiring millions with their devotion, courage and commitment to the common good.
