Tumblr media
(the hanakou analysis: Here)
Thank you, Anon! That's an interesting question but a bit tricky to answer because I don't think Mitsuba needing to eat spirits to survive is comparable to Kou's trying to see Hanako as an evil spirit but I do want to talk about how Mitsuba's "exorcise me" moment have connection to Kou's journey with Hanako.
Before seeing how each relationship influences the other I wanna highlight their big differences, so bear with me.
Kou does not see Mitsuba as a threat, the 'he eat evil spirits to survive' reveal does not change that. Mitsuba goes out of his way to only eat supernaturals and Kou does not consider killing monstrous supernaturals as something 'evil'. He has seen Teru do it since he was a little kid, has seen Hanako do it to protect him, and even did it himself.
Tumblr media
What makes Hanako be considered an evil spirit is that he is capable of murdering humans. Hanako can be genuinely dangerous, and so far, Kou had gotten no reason to believe Mitsuba is too.
Even if Mitsuba shows signs of being dangerous, Kou does not perceive Mitsuba as a supernatural nearly as much as he does Hanako, spending a good portion of the manga confusing him with Sousuke the human, and treating him like someone he wants to get close to, not judge.
Mitsuba is, first and foremost, someone Kou is desperate to be of use to, not very related to his identity as an exorcist.
If Hanako is the one he relies on. Mitsuba is the one in need of his help. Kou's role of being Mitsuba's guide is self-assigned, present even before the supernatural was born, all the way to when he interacted with Sousuke's ghost.
Tumblr media
Kou failed Sousuke and Mitsuba many times, so his inclination to help him became a need. As the people he trust seem to not take him seriously he grows desperate for Mitsuba to rely on him.
So Mitsuba saying he wants to be exorcised is a spit in his face. He does not care about how inhuman eating demons is when Mitsuba is basically saying "I don't want to rely on you, I don't believe you can make my dream come true. I give up"
He is angry and frustrated. He wholeheartedly rejects the idea not even Mitsuba needs him. He does care about Mitsuba and doesn't want him to die, but he is also blinded by frustration that even the person he had been sure only had him to count on considers Kou a second option.
Tumblr media
Even after he realizes Mitsuba is able to hurt human beings he does not focus on the new information, he does not care about 'how dangerous this supernatural is', his issue with the situation is still not being trusted. Not being needed.
Tumblr media
Mitsuba had even commented it would have 'been quicker' if it was Teru who got there to kill him. As if even for giving up, Kou is not the first option.
Tumblr media
It makes him feel lonely and incompetent.
The thing that makes him stop being angry is when Mitsuba, who saw him cry like a baby, still says "I am glad I came to see you" he was not disappointed by Kou
Tumblr media
It grabs his attention, it soothes his insecurities a little.
But Kou's reaction gets interesting here:
Tumblr media
Kou doesn't deny his claim that "you would be sorry to see me go, the same way you would for anybody."
What Mitsuba said here hits hard, because it makes him think of Hanako.
Even when faced with a cruel version of Hanako in the red house, Kou was frozen, aware he can't exorcise him.
Tumblr media
Kou run away from every single wish in the red house, but killing Hanako is the only wish that makes him hide behind his hands. He does not want to think about it. He does not want to face the possibility he may need to kill Hanako.
So he can't argue with Mitsuba.
And that makes him angry because exorcising Hanako does not mean the same as exorcising Mitsuba. For Hanako dying is not giving up on a dream, it is a reward, something he craves. Or at least, that's what Hanako consistently tells Kou.
Tumblr media
Hanako's beliefs go against Kou's beliefs. This is the one thing Hanako constantly tries to 'teach' him, that Kou refuses to accept.
It is also the only thing Hanako has ever shown to want besides saving Nene. It is important to Hanako, Kou can understand that much. So when the ghost say "I look forward for when you exorcise me." it is a huge show of trust, of expectations.
Hanako only ever explicitly trusted Kou to help with two things: protecting Nene and exorcising him. He seems to be under the impression Hanako no longer trusts him to be of help to Nene, since the supernatural did not share his plans about the severance or trapping Nene in Mei's canvas, and that hurts.
He can't mess up Hanako's hopes of being exorcised too.
Tumblr media
He doesn't want to disappoint Hanako again. There is a reason Hanako's asked Kou to kill him in the house the show you your wishes.
Is no wonder that when Mitsuba makes Kou remember Hanako his view on the situation changes, he considers Mitsuba's nature as a supernatural more carefully instead of dismissing his behavior as the personal attack he had thought it was.
The idea that Mitsuba may share Hanako's view on being exorcised is so frustrating to Kou. He fucking hates it, but he is more willing to think about it instead of dismissing his wish with to die with all the grace of a heart shoved in his mouth.
When he does a competition and claims he will exorcise Mitsuba if he wins, he feels more... Detached than usual. Even if he is visibly troubled.
Tumblr media
It feels like a more raw version of when he is trying to convince himself Hanako is a threat that should be exorcised, telling Nene of all people this:
Tumblr media
Which makes me believe that deep down a part of him wants her to convince him otherwise. Make him believe that Hanako is not an evil spirit he needs to exorcise. But she can't do it.
Kou does not want to exorcise either ghost but Hanako is dangerous, and Mitsuba no longer believes he can be human. So both ghosts force him to think about exorcism.
Mitsuba claim Kou wouldn't have exorcised him even if he had won and that is true. Even if Kou is serious about it, he doesn't have it in him to go through with it and kill Mitsuba.
All he can do is to think about it.
Tumblr media
I find that neat.

Tongue Twisting [Dare AU]
FEATURING : AITO SOUSUKE (OC) x male reader
An annoying setter dares you to suck someone's face. Good thing your hot teammate walked in at the right time.
Tumblr media
Short but too detailed for a drabble? has haikyuu characters as fillers because I'm too lazy to make up other ocs, voyeurism, making out, profile
Find out more under the cut!
"Still don't understand your point, Oikawa..."
(m/n) spoke with a lazy but confused grin, his eyebrows furrowing as he leaned forward from his chair he was sitting in. The brunette, standing tall in front of him had his hands on his hips.
"I'll give you the keys if you do it. It's not that hard for you, (m/n)." Oikawa smirked, his fingers spinning the bundle of keys he stole from the (h/c)'s bag earlier. Matsukawa who had dragged a chair to sit beside his standing captain quirked an eyebrow.
"If 'Zumi gets word of this, he's gonna get so pissed at you." "But he won't if (m/n) does it quick!"
A training camp had been set between Keio Shiki and Aoba Johsai for the Volleyball Men's Club. (m/n) and Oikawa both positioned as their captains of their respective teams and ever since (m/n) step foot onto the training camp's venue, Oikawa had a grudge on him seemingly for petty reasons.
(m/n) (l/n) had also been a third year setter, and a captain whose team had gone to nationals regularly representing the Saitama prefecture so Seijoh's coach had stated that the Shiki VBC team was the 'better' version of them and that got Oikawa pissed. It didn't help that Ushijima acknowledged (m/n) as a fantastic setter so he felt threatened with his position.
Since then, Oikawa would bother the (h/c) with small things, such as asking him to help clean his side of the gym, criticising his sets and serves or just straight up taking and using his stuff. Iwaizumi would knock some sense into his captain but it just so happened that both vice captains of both teams had to go run errands. Perfect.
(m/n) would have his meals in a more private area rather than the mess hall mostly due to him having to finish other duties on his laptop but Oikawa decided to infiltrate his booth and Matsukawa saw and just followed him in. His request was outrageous to say the least.
"Make out with someone."
(m/n) who was about to slurp his bowl of noodles visibly paused in his tracks and glanced at the annoying setter. He couldn't believe this was the man he was constantly compared to.
"Make out?" Oikawa grinned, seemingly proud of himself as he dangled the ring of keys he had snatched from the (h/c)'s duffle bag. "Or I'll throw this away." "...You do realise in the end, you'll get in trouble right?"
Matsukawa who had just stepped inside the lounge, froze and deadpanned at his captain. "Oikawa, what the fuck?" "Shut up, Mattsun! If you won't back me up, then leave." He whined as he tried to push the middle blocker away but the ravenette only decided to pull up a chair as (m/n) finished his meal.
The keys were access to all of the gyms and several other sections that were to be used by the volleyball teams on the property and (m/n) was in charge of keeping them safe and locked when they weren't using it and Oikawa was annoyed on how he wasn't picked.
How come he's athletic, smart, has good looks and has a nice personality?? FRAUD-
Oikawa couldn't accept someone with such a caliber existing and he was determined to find a foible somewhere in the (h/c). He continued to pester (m/n) and was about to dump the keys in a paper shredder until the (h/c) agreed. Although he doesn't exactly look mad?
"So do I have to get someone or you're picking?" (m/n) smoothened his pants, still sitting in the wooden chair as Matsukawa gaped at his relaxed expression. Even Oikawa was shocked he had agreed. "A-Anyone. Except your boyfriend!" "I don't have a boyfriend." The (h/c) deadpanned.
The setter suspected (m/n) was dating at least someone on his team, with the way they idolised and admired him. Especially his ace and his vice captain.
"How about you then?" (m/n) winked at the brunette, his finger made a 'come over here' taunt and Oikawa screeched. "You're shameless!" "You asked for it."
Matsukawa and the (h/c) was laughing at the flabbergasted brunette until the door behind them slid open and revealed an intimidating redhead. Keio Shiki's ace.
"What?" Sousuke deadpanned, confused as to why was there Seijoh's captain and annoying middle blocker in (m/n)'s private lounge, usually he would sneak away to spend time with his favourite person/crush but instead he found a grinning (h/c) and two other players from their rival team, his stomach tightened with jealousy.
Oikawa gestured to him and (m/n) laughed. "He wouldn't." "Wouldn't what?" Sousuke questioned, moving behind the suddenly cautious brunette to grab a chair, dragging it to sit between Matsukawa and (m/n).
"Would you have sex with your captain?"
Sousuke felt his heart dropped as he froze, his eyes on the ground and he heard (m/n)'s voice in the background. "He said smooching not fucking." What? Smooching not what?
The ace was confused as he peered to see the one who had asked him, Matsukawa smirking at him. "...huh?" Sleeping with his captain would be a dream come true. Hell he tried to woo the (h/c) for years if it wasn't for a certain cockblock VICE CAPTAIN-
"Like I said he wouldn't do that." (m/n) waved Matsukawa's teasing off, his eyes glancing at the redhead as he chuckled lightly. Sousuke frowned.
"I beg to differ." Oikawa was staring at the redhead, his eyes glinting as he crossed his arms, the bundle of keys nowhere to be seen. Sousuke reminded the brunette of Kyoutani, their playstyles and brash behaviour was similar, only Sousuke's style was more refined and he had been tamed by the (h/c). "If not, then I'll get someone else-"
"No." Sousuke grunted out, his fists clenching as he glanced at his captain, who was staring at him with a neutral expression. "I'll kill anyone who touches you."
"Calm down, hermano." Matsukawa whistled. "It's just kissing." The ravenette noticed the protective behaviour Sousuke had for his captain, pulling his shirt down if his skin was exposed, urging him to wash up quickly in the communal bathroom. He almost punched Oikawa in the face one time if it wasn't for Iwaizumi holding him back.
(m/n) gazed at the redhead, his eyes scanning his tense figure before he reached out and pulled his hand. "Then do you mind?" He smiled at the redhead whose cheeks flared. "What?" "Make out with me for a bit."
Oikawa's body was trembling, holding in his laugh as he slapped Matsukawa on the back repeatedly, the middle blocker cupping his mouth with his hand in excited shock. Sousuke's hand that was in (m/n)'s hold shuddered for a bit before he took a hold of himself.
"Are you going to do it with someone else?" (m/n) hummed, tapping his chin in mock thought. "Well I'm doing it for something..." He peered at Oikawa who was grinning. "Either way, if I have to then I'll have to." He nonchalantly stated, observing the agitated redhead.
"I might break their hands, (m/n)." Sousuke whispered to his captain, his hand now laying on his shoulder. "Then just swap spit with me." The (h/c) winked.
Sousuke stared at his captain for a moment, the gears in his brain moving and locking in as he grabbed his chair to sit and scoot directly in front of the (h/c) whose smile reached his eyes. Oikawa was hollering in the background and Matsukawa was holding in his cackle.
Bet he's a bottom. Oikawa didn't have a clear cut objective in his plan. He just wanted to see (m/n) melt one way or another. Sousuke was an added bonus, he was so annoyed with how good chemistry they had on the court.
Hazel scanned the (h/c)'s body, his eyes moving upwards to catch (e/c) staring at his bottom lip before they locked together. (m/n) smiled and tilted his head. "Don't regret this." "..."
Sousuke placed his hand on (m/n)'s bicep as he slowly moved forward, his breath held in. (m/n) chuckled as he closed his eyes, leaning in and he gripped the redhead's thigh, rubbing his thumb into his ace's pants.
The redhead's heart was racing, he stiffened his trembling hand as he gripped the armchair and he felt his world turned into bliss when his lips pressed against his captain's.
Sousuke was rigid as he nervously opened his mouth, panicking internally when he felt no response. "Let's go slow..." (m/n) cooed as his other hand moved to cup the redhead's jaw, his nail teasingly scratching his neck.
He flinched before humming awkwardly, closing his lips and letting his captain have his way. (m/n) gently lapping up the redhead's rough picked lips, his tongue softly swiping against the redhead's clenched mouth. His grip on Sousuke's thigh tightened.
Oikawa was laughing and taking a picture secretly, Matsukawa was hiding his smile with his hand, amused at the current scenario in front of him. A certain middle blocker is gonna be so pissed when he finds out.
The redhead cautiously opened his mouth, poking out his tongue and (m/n) seemed to stammer when it met with his. Sousuke could taste a lingering salt on (m/n)'s tongue. "Noodles for dinner?" "You know me." (m/n) chuckled before holding Sousuke's face with both of his hands and clashed their teeth.
Sousuke grunted as his breath stuttered when the (h/c) entered his mouth. He moaned when (m/n)'s tongue pressed againts his hard palate and he heard his captain's quiet laugh.
The butterflies in his stomach was raging as he forced himself to stop acting so nervous, his hands finally moved to hold (m/n) by the waist, rubbing his sides up and down. He had to swallow more than normal with how generous the (h/c) was licking his tongue, the taste of soup placating his buds and their saliva mixed.
Moving forward, Sousuke's chair scratched against the floor as he forced it closer to the (h/c)'s, desperate to have more. He couldn't believe that he was doing this. What kind of miracle did he walked upon? If any other man had sat in his position, he would have had his neck wrung.
"Nggh- hah!" He pulled his face back, panting with spit drooping down his chin. His penis was undeniably hard, the outline stretching against his jeans. Sousuke's face was hot, his cheeks red and he felt even weaker seeing the (h/c)'s expression.
(m/n) was smiling shamelessly and licked his lips, his heart fluttered and light. His own cock was also erect but he couldn't show that. The (h/c) wiped both his and Sousuke's face. "You had enough?" "..."
The redhead stayed quiet, swallowing his saliva. Sousuke wanted more, (m/n)'s tongue and drool in his mouth, or even his in the (h/c). Either way, it could never be enough. He had gotten a taste and Sousuke was Adephagia.
His hand gripped (m/n)'s lower waist, dangerously close to the plump of his ass and the (h/c) let out a quiet groan while biting his bottom lip. Half-lidded (e/c) eyes glared at burning hazel. (m/n) smiled as he felt Sousuke pulling him into his lap.
Sousuke kicked the (h/c)'s chair away as he held the captain on his lap, his left hand fondling down his back and his other rubbing (m/n)'s thigh. Their mouths were connected again and Sousuke immediately took the chance to thrust his tongue past (m/n)'s lips.
The taste of udon was more apparent now as he intruded his captain's mouth, pushing his wet muscle against the (h/c)'s. (m/n) moaned as his teeth scraped and he tried to push back. His hands are now in Sousuke's red locks, pulling and roughing them up.
(m/n) (l/n) couldn't say he never meant to end up in this position, sitting perchly in his ace's lap while sloppily making out with the redhead. Oikawa annoyed him and if the only thing that got him to shut up was for him to swallow someone's spit, then so be it. It was a plus for him too, how long had it been since he let loose anyways.
Sucking Sousuke's tongue was a different story however. He knew the redhead's obsession- passion for him. His intent gaze lingering over his figure, his rough fingertips brushing against his face and it didn't help he was handsome and so compliant under his will too. (m/n) could no longer hear the two Seijoh players laughing when Sousuke pulled him onto his lap.
His heart undeniably was pounding against his chest and now he was fiercely face fucking with his ace, Sousuke's hand dangerously hovering over his ass. (m/n) could feel the hard dick under his bosom, teasingly grinding on top of the rough jeans the redhead wore- fuck he shouldn't be doing this.
"Mmng ahh-" He pushed Sousuke away, the redhead frowning and panting with his tongue slack against his bottom lip. "We should hah- finish-" He was cut off when the redhead lapped up his jaw, making the (h/c) mewl and squirm in his hold. "Don't wanna." Sousuke mumbled, letting his tongue drag across (m/n)'s jaw.
The (h/c) huffed as his hands trembled, he leaned back, unintentionally exposing more of his neck. Sousuke brushed his fangs over (s/c) before he bit down, making (m/n) gasp and whimper as he rolled his hips.
"Y-You..." (m/n) frustratingly whined, his arousal was painful as he pressed himself down onto Sousuke's. "Hah...hah..." The redhead pulled away from the (h/c)'s neck, lust and want evident in his desperate eyes. (e/c) melted with equal need staring back.
"...my room." Sousuke immediately picked him up and walked out of the lounge, (m/n) locked his ankles around the redhead's torso. They both were still making out by the time they were out of the Seijoh's sight.
Oikawa was silent, not knowing what to say. Matsukawa was palming his face. "You should've expected that. That red hair guy was basically eye-fucking him everytime they're on the court." "I just....wanted to see him submit...not hooking up with someone."
Matsukawa raised an eyebrow. "Was this supposed to be a kink? That's gross, idiot-kawa." "I JUST WANTED TO SEE HIM LOSE FOR ONCE??" "Whatever it is, he definitely won tonight." The middle blocker secretly adjusted his pants, Oikawa's face was red and blushing.
"Why the hell are you guys in here?" Iwaizumi questioned, stepping into the lounge. Hanamaki poked his head in as well.
"...nothing." "Oikawa made a horny dare." "I DID NOT!!"
Iwaizumi cringed at the setter, disappointment etched onto his face. "DON'T LOOK AT ME LIKE THAT-" He wailed and Hanamaki looked to Matsukawa for an explanation.
The middle blocker only raised his hands in mock surrender, his mind wandering to the Shiki pair. Sousuke might show up but (m/n) will definitely not be attending practice tomorrow.

for no particular reason: the funniest ways rinharu could become canon after the final stroke
- sakura tree confession but rin does it during school hours so after they kiss theres a crowd of 1st graders watching and going EWWWWW
- haru writes rin a love letter while in hungary but addresses it to sousuke bc this is how he and rin send letters to each other now
- haru finds out about doujinshi and sends rin a doujin he makes where he ships himself with rin bc he doesnt know this is not normal guy behavior
- rin tries to court haru by showing him his collection of shells from australia like hes some kind of horny albatross
- haru makes makoto confess for him, rin accepts but thinks this mean makoto confessed too and thats how makoto managed to accidentally join a polycule
- kisumi flirts with rin in front of haru and haru decides hes just fucking had it with his pink-haired he/they ass
- rin thinks haru is dying in his arms after the relay so he confesses and then gets really mad when he finds out haru wasnt even a little close to dying
- rin and haru win athens together and then get overwhelmed and kiss sloppy on national tv and in front of albert volandel’s salad
- s4 begins with them already married with no explanation
- they actually did kiss at the fs2 night pool but it was cut for time just like almost everything else in the movie

Aizen: Yes. It was painful to watch them miss simple clues and riddles. They've been doing this job for who knows how long, the least they could do is improve their observational skills.
...
Aizen: Do you mind if I light a smoke inside?
Shinji: Yes, I do mind.
Aizen: Shame... *lighting up a cig anyway*

Aizen: I could be so much worse. For example, I could start acting like my mother.

Day 3: Missed Chances
Fandom: Free!
Pairing: Yamazaki Sousuke x Tachibana Makoto
Wordcount: 716
Day 1 | Day 2
Even as years passed, Makoto couldn’t help but think of how he met Sousuke on that rainy morning whenever September would roll around again. He’d also always thought about what could have been and wondered what happened to Sousuke—a lot of changes must have taken place with the time that went by. Maybe his injury healed. Maybe he completed his residency. Maybe he left the country. Maybe he forgot about the nursing student he met at Yowa Hospital.
Makoto, on the other hand, never forgot about him. He never could; Sousuke was one of the first people he had built rapport with as a nurse. As a result, he never thought of him as only a patient he’d helped. He wondered if he was just a nurse to Sousuke, though. He honestly wished he remembered him as something more and thought about him sometimes. Maybe even wondered about his current circumstances and whereabouts like Makoto would with him. But that was where Makoto was conflicted: he would hate for Sousuke to learn the reality of what had been going on in his life.
In reality, there was a lot of not much going on. Makoto had missed out on a lot since he dedicated himself to his job and committed to gaining recognition for his services in Tottori University Hospital’s nursing team. He had remained single all this while, and it was only partly due to his career ambitions to rise up the ranks to become a nursing manager. Maybe, somewhere in the back of his mind, he had held onto the hope of seeing Sousuke again—a man who happened to have everything he wanted in a partner.
Maturity. Dependability. Consideration. He sometimes wished he had never known more about Sousuke than what meets the eye; the height, the voice and those eyes would have been enough. Now he was stuck on the idea of having someone that just seemed too good to be true.
Too good for him, at least.
So when Sousuke finally appeared in his life again, Makoto was too stunned to properly react.
Why would Sousuke remember him, right? Makoto was only a student nurse back then, helping out in a couple of his many weeks of therapy sessions. Makoto didn’t even dare to probe about his injury at the time, for fear of being seen as a busybody. Strictly speaking, they were never friends.
So when Sousuke introduced himself in TUH as Dr Yamazaki, the new gastroenterology fellow, Makoto greeted him like it was their first time seeing each other. That would be the first of many missed chances he had to acknowledge his recognition of Sousuke from his time in nursing college.
It only became increasingly difficult to breach the topic from then on.
After all, what would he say?
Do you remember that student who was briefly there for your PT almost seven years ago? Hi, I’m that guy. Fancy seeing you here at TUH!
Yeah, no. He’d cringe just imagining that. While he was glad—over the moon, actually—to meet Sousuke again, he struggled to bring up their history, seeing as any attempts he had made to reach out were simply… not taken any notice of.
Katsumi-san had very kindly given him the phone number, saying that Sousuke had authorised him to do so. At that moment he had hope fired up in him: Sousuke had wanted to be friends! With time, could they develop into something… more?
At first, it was a courteous but casual text, saying hello and notifying Sousuke that he was stationed at the psychiatric ward now. No reply came.
Then, Makoto had let him know that he ended his time as a student nurse at the hospital and would be proceeding with his prep for the National Nursing Examination. That received no response either.
Finally, Makoto informed Sousuke that he had successfully gotten his nursing license. That was when his hope truly died, because he’d thought a congratulatory message would be anyone’s reply. Instead, all he got was radio silence.
Yeah, they were never friends. That thought would cause Makoto to have this constricting feeling in his chest, so he never liked to think about it for long.
It was a shame, but the past was supposed to be left in the past, anyway.
To be continued on Day 4

shouldn't sousuke and kinjou have known each other before? kinjou was also a national level athlete, and didn't he used to swim butterfly before switching to free in college? he should have known sousuke when he was still active back in high school since they were competing in the same circles. probably idk
tbh in road to the world, when he's bullying Hiyori at the end, and Ikuya, Natsuya and Sousuke come to his rescue, Kinjou does say "... Yamazaki Sousuke from Tokitusu?" so Kinjou at least knows him. Ssk also says "that's trouble" referring to Kinjou, which does seem more like bc of the situation at hand and not bc he knows him previously, but it is a possibility. Bc even tho Ssk had such as one track mind about Rin, he was still very aware of competition and what was going on in the sports world. So I do assume they know each other.
idk why in fs2 Kinjou is like "you're yamazaki sousuke the butterfly swimmer right?" as if this is the first time they're having a conversation, but the RTTW convo was so in-passing and he was only thinking about Hiyori then so he's prob already forgotten about it

Skip And Loafer Is A Very "Human" Slice-Of-Life Anime (Review)
Skip and Loafer is probably one of the best slice of life school animes I’ve seen in a very long time. I think that the best word to describe this anime is “humane”. Like, this anime does tackle issues that people in reality can have and it handles it in a way that it’s resolved in a way humans can only do.
The reason why I say that this anime is very human is because you can find any of these characters anywhere and they won’t feel too out of place even in anime standards. There are people like Mitsumi; there are people like Sousuke. The way that these characters are written feel so human that you can find them even in your own area.
Tumblr media
The anime focuses on the youth of teens rather than romance. While there is ship tease between our main leads, the main focus is Mitsumi trying to get by her new life in the city everyday. Mitsumi wants to attend the best college in the nation so that she can become a politician and help the socio-economic issues of her hometown. She’s extremely smart, which allowed her to get to into a good high school in Tokyo. However, her street smarts are in a level far below her book smarts. On her first day, she got lost on her way to school and when she managed to reach the entrance ceremony, she got so anxious and nauseous that she puked on her teacher’s clothes. Her hopes and dreams of making a good first impression goes down the drain because of this as she gets nicknamed “Barf Girl”. Her school life does get better as she gets friends and involves herself in the student government.
I think Mitsumi is the cutest slice of life anime protagonist ever. The way she behaves around people and experiences just squeezes my heart. I especially loved her expression when she tried boba for the first time. She's naive, but she does have substance with it as it's both her strength and weakness in a way. One cannot hate Mitsumi and if you hate Mitsuki, I don’t want to be associated with you.
This is a character-driven show, so that means the characters have to be interesting in order for the plot to stand out and to move forward. Fortunately, the characters are all diverse with their own issues. We have Sousuke Shima, the male lead. He’s someone who just lives life as it is. He’s not a bad boy, but just tries to get through life without issues. He’s a very nice guy and doesn’t judge anyone. He tries to be distant with everyone, but still wants to involve himself if it’s possible. He has issues of his own, which are revealed towards the end of the show; he was once a child actor that was forced to act because his mom wanted him to and that his biological father was an alcoholic and didn’t care much for him and his mom to the point that they divorced and his mother got remarried and had a another child. I know from stories that I read and people that I’ve met that people with family issues are the most hurt, and they do have a hard time expressing how hurt they are.
The other characters in the show are great too. We got Yuzuki, who’s the popular pretty girl. You think she’d be the typical mean girl, but she’s actually the sweetest character in this show. She has issues with her looks because people would think she wants romantic attention, but she doesn’t; instead, she finds it uncomfortable. She wanted a new start in a high school where no one knows who she is and she did get good friends who don’t judge her.
There’s Makoto who’s a bookworm, awkward and has a tendency to assume. Fortunately, she warms up to Mitsumi and is a part of her friend circle along with Yuzuki and Mika. I do like how she assumes less as time goes on. She even tells her middle school friends about how she lends books to Yuzuki in order to help them ease their possible silent assumptions.
Mika’s a bit of a divisive character. She started off as a bit of a bitch, but she does get nicer later on. However, she’s not mean for the sake of being mean; she actually has a lot of insecurities, which is why she’s a bit haughtier than the other girls. When she was younger, she was teased for being fat, so she worked hard to lose weight and to be fashionable so that she doesn’t get teased. I do like the fact that she’s portrayed rather realistically. There are people like Mika in this world. I do love the friendship she has with Mitsumi’s aunt Nao and how they’re Instagram buddies.
Aunt Nao does a good job being the guardian figure for Mitsumi, but I wish she had more screen time. It was funny about how she disguised herself to sneak around Mitsumi’s zoo outing with Sousuke. I think that Nao is a unique character as she is a transgender woman. I do love that while she is transgender and it is her identity, it’s not all her character revolves around. She lives life like every other human and is content with how she’s living. I love the fact that she’s voiced by Mitsuki Saiga. The perfect casting.
There’s also Kanechika, who feels like comic relief every time he appears, but he’s actually my favorite character. I feel happy whenever he appears on screen. He seems a bit insensitive, but he’s actually a very passionate man. Like, I understand his dream of being a renowned playwright. I work hard every day to get recognition for my writing. I do love how Kanechika is utilized in Episode 7 where he tries to apologize to Takamine for his rather insensitive way of handling her ordeal of not being chosen as the student council president. I think he has the best entrance of all the characters; who else comes into a underclassmen’s class in red stilettos and walk in them like a professional? That’s how you make an entrance. I also love his choice of outfits throughout the show.
There’s also Takamine, who is like Mitsumi’s mentor in a way. Mitsumi admires her and wants to be like her, minus the excessive schedules. She’s punctual. She’s precise. She’s the model student. However, her prim and properness stems from the mistakes she had made in her middle school days, which was why she wanted to get her life set and not make mistakes anymore. She’s someone who’s too hard on herself at times. I do love her interactions with Mitsumi. Mitsumi always gets life lessons from the people around her, but I feel like Mitsumi helps Takamine ease up. While Takamine is the mentor and Mitsumi the mentee in the student council, I feel like it’s the opposite when it comes to life experiences.
Ririka is just a sterner Mika. I find it amusing how shes a red head associated with the male lead voiced by Minako Kotobuki and it reminds me of Say I Love You where Kotobuki had also voiced a red-headed model associated with the male lead. To be honest, I don’t really like Ririka. She just seems mean and the way she lashed out at Sosuke’s mom for coming to the school festival with pure intentions of just wanting to see Sosuke was uncalled for. I understand that Ririka is still mad at what happened with Sosuke and knows about his issues with his mom, but Mrs. Shima didn’t do anything wrong this time around. She was being unreasonable.
My only gripe with the characters that the male characters that aren’t Sosuke and Kanechika are a bit one note. Mukai’s there to be Sosuke’s closest friend but he gets so little screen time that I forget his existence. Yamada’s a bit too one-dimensional and serves as comic relief. Kazakami just exists to be the foil to Takamine. Sosuke’s brother Keiri is just his brother. Chris is just there to be someone that Sosuke can talk to who’s not Mukai. I kind of wish they get more focus if there is a season 2, but given that this is a PA Works anime, that’s not going to happen. I guess I have to buy the manga to see what’s going to happen next.
I think that the best part of the interactions between Mitsumi and Sosuke is that they can be seen romantically or platonically. While Mitsumi does have a small crush on Sosuke, I do like that it’s not emphasized too much. Like, she still likes him as a friend. I can see it either way and whatever way it goes, I would be satisfied no matter what.
The animation is pretty and gorgeously colored. I love the soft palettes; it’s like watercolor. It’s very easy on the eyes. Since this is a slice of life show, the animation isn’t like super amazing Ufotable style, but it’s good with movements and such. I like the animation. PA Works does have a good track record of good quality animation; look at Buddy Daddies!
The music was nice! I really like the opening song. The ending song is cute too! For the OST music, I do think it fits well with the anime.
The voice acting was superb. I’m not too familiar with Mitsumi and Sosuke’s VA as they are new faces, but they did their part so well. I can see Sosuke’s VA being casted in more anime now that he did a great job as the male lead in his first major role. All of the voice actors did amazing. I think the role that surprised me the most was Megumi Han as she voiced Makoto in a voice that I barely recognized her from hearing it. Ms. Han, your range is impeccable; remember that she also voiced Kana in Oshi no Ko and both are Spring 2023 anime.
Overall, the story is simplistic, but it makes one feel so good at the end. I really like how it’s nothing too dramatic; it’s just high schoolers trying to figure themselves out. It’s a really wholesome show that I believe everyone should watch at least once in their life. I’m definitely going to check out the manga!

What's the first thing they (Ikuya, Sousuke, Haru, Rin) do with the medals they won from the relay in TFS?
omg YAY someone actl asked smth lmao hehehe. it's.. a very specific question, but thank you hhh i was genuinely bored. let's see.
ikuya: actively tries to bite natsuya in the arm when he jokes about selling his medal for money (do medals even fetch money? idek)
sousuke: adds it to his extensive collection of medals and trophies (that he won during his era of being one of the country(??? or was it in the school circuit)'s top three backstroke swimmers) displayed in his dad's restaurant, isn't very showy about it because *sweeps dust off shoulder* he has plenty of medals. this is nothing new
rinharu: crazy breathplay smex er i mean idk, rin probably has a pretty display cabinet or a decorated bulletin board he reserves for his medals. haru... chucks his medals in a box under his study desk or something. or is influenced by rin and makes a little shrine for himself that is significantly less decorated than the ones the others probably own. it's probably just a shelf with that framed-up picture of their iwatobisc relay team.. and maybe now a framed-up picture of their national relay team in addition

🌼Spring-Summer☀️ Update🌻 Hello! Hello! How is my SouHaru nation doing this fine day? I hope you’re all doing great!😊 I mean, do you even remember this blog at all… 😅Ah~ I’m terribly sorry for the lack of word on the ongoing fics but RL is a mess. Haha🥲 Alright, I just need to state this, first, so that I can remember what an idiot I am… I managed to spent three whole days, from Saturday to Monday, scrolling through art in tumblr with only a couple hours of sleep in between and at the third day I was like; ‘Ok, I feel so freaking motivated to draw right now!’ and picked up my sketchbook, right? You, guys… 😓 the minute I opened a blank page, I stared at it and went: ‘Right, now what? Uh… Oh! Let’s try X character’s face!’ and not that character did I not manage to draw… but not even an egg could I map out!!! 😱 And what did I do, you ask? I picked back up my phone to scroll down some more art on tumblr for yet one more day! Of course! Ha! Ah, but then it hit me— I was so sleepy that after that I had a ten-hour nap that broke the cycle. Pff!~😅 But not to drag this any further, I was in a really bad headspace since the end of March and this was like the lowest of my lows… So… Yeah… Anyway, now onto the actual update…
On Thursday, I had some progress with a Free! WIP I was stuck for a long — looong (not gonna say exactly how long, it’s embarrassing) — time and(!) a Jujutsu Kaisen WIP the day before. I’m so glad!? ☺️ I really hope I can keep this momentum going and finish these two stories within the next couple months, because I’m tired going back over dozens of WIPs again and again. 😮‍💨 Plus, it doesn’t help that I keep coming up with new project ideas. 😬
By the way, June is almost here and on July Jujutsu Kaisen second season is coming, too, so I’m excited for it, as well! Even if I have been spoiler-ed for it… Still, I tried keeping away from spoilers as much as possible. Let’s see how that will go.😗 If I can’t get surprised by anything, I’ll get sour, though. (Just saying…)
Oh! I almost forgot! I, also, watched Free!💦 The Final Stroke part 2!✨ Sousuke is such a beautiful character— I was giggling at his every scene! 🤭 And we, SouHaru’s, finally got it on canon that Sousuke carried Haruka in his arms — I’ll be screaming this every time! — (because it was impossible to mount him for a piggyback ride with the way Haruka was sleeping!😉) to the infirmary. 🤩😍🤗🫠 I’m so moved and pleased by this~ 😌🥹🥰 Sure, I would have loved to see it animated, but well… it is KyoAni we’re talking about here, so it was a surprise they even let us have it as much as mentioned, in the first place…😗 (What do we have all this fanart of Sousuke carrying Haruka around, after all, if not for filling the gaps in canon! Right?!😋) I don’t know about you, guys, but I’m glad for the crumbs we managed to get this time around!😤 It is a vindication in and of itself that Sousuke is the one who can carry Haruka in his arms, because he has such a huge build and is so strong compared to everyone else — even Makoto! 🤗🫠🤗 Hm! KyoAni, finally made my boy right and that’s all I want to keep from this series. 😎😘 Cheers!🥂✨ p.s.: As always, inbox 📥 is open for everyone and anyone who wants to fangirl over SouHaru or just Sousuke or just Haruka… or any character, really. (Please, just not Rin…)
Wish you people well and a great week start~ 😘

Conner Abbott
Tumblr media
Basics: Age: 30 Sexuality: bi-sexual Current Residence: England Height: 6′1″ (185 cm) Nationality: British Face Claim: Sousuke Yamazaki (Free!) Occupation: internet cafe owner
Personality: Laid back and easy going about life. He doesn’t take things too seriously but he isn’t gullible or naive. He has a very big brother type of way of acting around others younger than himself, teasing them to the point of annoying them but also trying to help them grow as a person and encourage them however he can. He takes great pride in his job, giving only his best efforts into anything it needs. Being seen as a manly man is also a point of pride for himself- being strong, assertive, macho and the like are things he often keeps tabs on, as it’s something everyone compliments him on regularly and he enjoys that praise. But he’s still kind and looks after others, too, taking no shit from anyone and standing up to those who try being bullies.
Appearance: Short, styled black hair and deep blue eyes, he keeps his body in shape and has a toned body though not overly muscular, either. He will wear anything that’s comfortable when not at work, be it shorts, jeans, sneakers or sandals. His fashion sense isn’t terrible but not great, either. Basically, whatever he sees in fashion/clothing magazines that are being worn by men his age, he’ll wear and buy.
Background: Growing up in England as an older brother wasn’t an easy thing, but Conner made it look it. He never knew his father, instead having his mother bring various men into the home as he and his little brother grew up. His mother, while not the cruelest woman around, also wasn’t the kindest. She often complained to her sons about their fathers and how they were great men despite neither staying around when the boys were born, and Conner quickly learned to be independent from her to escape her daily whining.
Of course, he didn’t leave Cody behind in this, often taking his kid brother with him any time he went out for jobs, giving Cody his own little tasks to keep him occupied. It had been this way since Conner could remember- taking on a parental role in the household because their mother refused to be one herself. So he took it into his own hands to all but raise Cody himself, not wanting Cody to go through the irritation that had been listening to their mother.
The moment he turned 18, he moved out of the house from his mom, though gave his brother a spare key for when Cody wanted to get away from their mom as well. Conner also continued making sure to spend time with Cody, bringing him out to various places and just trying to help the guy expand his social horizons, since it seemed Cody was just shutting himself in his room all the time. At the same time, Conner worked his ass off and eventually graduated high school with near honor grades, and he balanced his business class for a degree with helping Cody out when he got into high school as well.
After working his way through various mind-numbing jobs and internships, Conner managed to finally get the money he needed to start up his own company, something he’d wanted since he was young. Just being able t run his own company and call the shots himself was more appealing to him than having to listen to someone else, really. And when he noticed people in the surrounding areas talking about spaces where they could go to just be online but also still socialize with others, it gave Conner the idea of starting an internet cafe- an old school idea but it seemed the concept was coming back in fashion. And before long, it was a success! Conner was the owner of his own internet cafe, and after Cody got his own schooling done for general IT, he gave his brother work at the cafe as well. Something like a family business, but not.
Relationships: Cody -  younger half brother through their mother Violette - friend

Recap of some of my Greatest HaruRin Hits
If you're feeling that ol' HaruRin spirit rush through you once more in the wake of those Free! The Final Stroke (part 2) spoilers (none of which you'll find in this post, fret not), then I invite you to review some of my longfic I've written for the pairing over the years! If you'd like to see all the Free! fic I've written, check here, but these are some of the meatier pieces that you can really sink your teeth into. Enjoy!
Worth the Wait (teen) - Rin has lost sight of his dream, and Haru never found his (AU where Haru and Rin meet slightly later in life, as adults rather than children)
We Were Born to Be Free (teen) - Matsuoka Rin is one of the top-ranked men’s singles figure skaters in the world, but it’s neither his passion nor his dream. It’s a stop-gap until he can find someone who can skate his choreography to his satisfaction, someone he can take to the Winter Olympics and dominate pairs skating with, like his father always dreamed. Pickings are slim, though, until a viral video catches his eye: a dark horse from eastern Japan, a no-name nobody Rin’s never heard of, skating Rin’s Grand Prix series free skate program—and doing it better than Rin did. Now he just has to convince this ‘Nanase Haruka’ character that they’re a destined pair that’s going to show the audience a sight they’ve never seen before. (Figure Skating AU with brief allusions to the Yuri!!! on ICE universe)
Charmed, I'm Sure (explicit) - [Future Fish/Harry Potter AU] - Half-Veela Matsuoka Rin works alongside his partner Yamazaki Sousuke in the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures at the Japanese Ministry of Magic. It isn't exactly the most glamorous of careers: remove a kappa infestation here, ward a tengu-frequented mountain pass against Muggles there—until Rin is asked to help interrogate a Siren charged with murdering a prominent Councillor and vocal opponent of Mer rights. (HP-setting AU)
For All Appearances (explicit) - Rin and Haru have it pretty good: prime spots on the Japanese National Swim Team, a real shot at Olympic glory in two summers, and a hassle-free, no-strings-attached sleeping arrangement that keeps them fit and sated without any fuss or mess. All is well, until they get caught by the paparazzi in a compromising position that nearly brings their careers to a grinding halt—unless they can come up with one hell of a good excuse for what they were doing. (Fake Marriage AU)
You Are (Not) Free (explicit) - Nanase Haruka was dropped from consideration for the Jaeger program years ago, and Matsuoka Rin has a disturbing track record with Drift partners--but desperate times call for desperate measures, and they're tasked to team up and help put a new prototype Jaeger through its paces. (Pacific Rim AU, part of a short series)
All That Glitters (explicit) - This was not the life Rin had seen himself living, but he just couldn't resist its siren call. (Free!, but what if Haru had actually been a merfolk?)
And a Following Sea (teen) - Neither Rin nor Haru are all that thrilled to be the representatives of their respective peoples, expected to serve a year as figureheads holding a treaty together, but peace must start somewhere. (Splash Free! AU)

If Final Stroke part 1 was rinharu angst, i bet Final Stroke part 2 will be makoharu angst.
You guys have seen the animedia cover right?
If rin helped haru in s2, it might be makoto's turn in the second movie.
Well, I'm fine with it. I like both anyways.
And tho I'm late with the fandom's discussion about the movie, and even tho i haven't seen it yet myself, i'll still put out mine *with a sprinkle of memes (it's more of an overall analysis tho, accuracy not guaranteed)---
• The spoilers point out that haru had another breakdown, wanting to get stronger and faster. In my opinion, it's because haru has only started to learn things the hard way. Come to think of it, he only began to care about his swimming during their nationals back in high school. And he still isn't used to being bested by someone else. Unlike rin who has better knowledge and experience (by haru in freestyle and sousuke in butterfly), haru has no idea how to handle getting worked up when competing against someone, he's not used to it.
Tumblr media
• Haru has another hidden matra. Besides that mantra about being a normal person at 20, he got a hidden one: 'Never depend on others'. Yes, he doesn't say it himself but when you have watched the series several times enough, then you know that haru is quite independent in almost everything; whether at home or school. And more importantly, if you have read the High Speed light novels (if you haven't, i suggest you do so cuz why not), little haru doesn't like the idea of depending on others and was even pissed when he questioned himself if he was just being dependent on water. The only notable time he openly asked for help is when he asked coach azuma to help him with the IM race against ikuya. For the most time, he was being aided by makoto's keen (motherly-like) observation skills (although haru is also keen in his own way).
Tumblr media
• Makoto-Haru-Rin assessment: haru lacks openness, makoto lacks initiative and rin can be impulsive sometimes. Wait, hold up! please put down your pitchforks if you have any. I'll explain it (it's connected with the previous bullet) *Ahemm, so, what i meant by that is, haru tends to keep everything to himself and doesn't feel the need to drag others into his business and rarely openly preaches his feelings, he usually does this if the other one does the talking first. Haru didn't talk about his meeting with rin back in junior high with others, not even with makoto. He kept his plans for the future on hold just because he doesn't want to be bothered by it. Even when pressure kept on bugging him, he never spoke about it with anyone. And what did it did to him? He ends up snapping at others.
Tumblr media
Next is makoto. Yes, he got motherly instincts that makes him take action as what he thinks he should. We know that he has a good grip on haru. Still, there are times that makoto tends to give haru too much space. It's true that he was the one who called rin and told him about haru when they had a fight in s2. But he respects haru's privacy too much that he never asked what was up when haru suddenly decided to quit during high school. There's a good chance that haru would have told everything if only makoto pressed on it. Makoto has the right to know. And what's more, after the friendly competition against albert, makoto was able to hold on for two good weeks without checking on haru. If rin hadn't dragged him to visit haru, who knows until when would makoto stay still. Third blow on makoto: according to movie spoilers, he let the serious talk with haru be cut off just because he was reminded that he had some business with his twin siblings. Come on, i know keeping your word with your family is important but can't he at least be more aggressive when it comes to haru just like what he did in s2? And i think he's already spoiled the twins enough. He could have spared at least ten more minutes with haru. He has the right to question and speak to haru because, again, he has the right to know.
Tumblr media
Now, let's have rin. This guy is prone to confronting others with physicality. Gosh, i salute ai for being able to put up with rin in s1. Remember? He tried to punch haru back in s1. He also has this habit of grabbing others by the collar (rei, sousuke) or their swimming goggles (haru). And if makoto lacks initiative, rin is the opposite who tends to be pushy and impulsive sometimes. Transferring to iwatobi, studying in australia, suddenly joining samezuka relay (as surprise counterattack after seeing iwatobi relay), bringing haru to australia, and quitting freestyle. He triggered haru's switch once in s2 by taunting about future plans so why did he had to do it again in the movie? They are not even halfway through college yet but rin was already rushing haru to come up with a decision about his next step. Not only that, rin shouldn't have brought down the blow on haru so suddenly, saying he'd quit freestyle. He should have known by now not to give haru sudden triggers (somehow i feel this is some sort of karma on haru for suddenly quiting during junior high).
• Another separate bullet for haru (because he's the mc). Haru can be indifferent and passive. I remembered that some fans speculate that haru has autism. I think that if it was true, then it's possible to connect it to this. Well anyways, haru is not the most sociable kid around, ever since High Speed light novel. And i was pissed off with his attitude towards nagisa in the second volume (yea just because he's already in junior high). Too bad, the movie version made haru more amiable. Of course, haru can act out of concern like what he did for makoto, nagisa and rei. He can help. But it doesn't change the fact that somethimes he thinks that concerning himself with others' business is such a drag. And when haru wants to make them stay or confront them, it ends up messy because he's not used to 'talking things out with them'. Haru is used to makoto being around him he ended up snapping. Not only because makoto will be away, but also because makoto went ahead of him in coming up with a decision. Let's just say that during that time, he had 'no sense of emergency' (sorry for the term hehe), he put the serious matter on hold. And of course, haru is used to rin giving him the push he needs. He realized his dream with the help of rin. His competitiveness is always driven by rin. No wonder that rin's decision to quit freestyle was a shot to the heart for haru. It's obvious that haru wants to take on albert together with rin. Haru should have been more open about it.

• Of course, let's add sousuke. Actually, i like sousuke's character development. My concern is that his surgery and recovery was covered way too briefly. And more than that, the build-up of dynamic between him and natsuya feels very unnatural. I know people of the same interest are bound to intersect in some way but it feels off that sousuke and natsuya immediately became familiar with each other. They could have at least dug the events from high speed. Like natsuya could at least point out that he remember sousuke as someone who had "temporary issues" with haru (this is more detailed in the light novel). Actually, instead of concentrating sousuke's interaction with natsuya, it would have been better that the focus was on him and rin. Like sousuke suddenly bringing up to rin that he is thankful that rin is not repeating what he did (when he cut off the correspondence back then) and that their connection and support towards each other are growing strong. It would be nice to see how sousuke is as rin's mental support (i consider sourin as the "bros of the bros" tandem)

• The ikurin pair. Yeah finally more interaction between these two. Still, i personally think that ikurin pair would have been portrayed better if not for the s3's awful pacing. If only they had compressed ikuya and haru's conflict into 3 episodes instead of 8, then perhaps ikuya would look less dramatic. More on, ikuya and rin would have met in s3 instead of Road to World movie. And a bigger chance for ikuya to be enlightened why haru quit back then. Imagine, what would ikuya do after learning about it. Because i find it off that ikuya only minded that haru quit the club and that even after they have reunited, it's still not known to him. Well, plot and characters felt less natural ever since s3 so... Anyways, ikuya and rin. They are similar when it comes to having fixation towards haru. But how they handle their conflicts with haru are so far apart. Rin acted like a badass, was a grump, and always ready to punch others. But nevertheless, despite his temper during s1, whenever he would calm down and think things over, he can respond properly to others. Just like with Ai and Rei. Ikuya on the other hand, he acted calm and cold. And whenever Hiyori confronts him about Haru, Ikuya just brushes it off until he finally snapped during that slide scene (which i enjoyed despite being 100% bait and 0% plot). He was too obsessed with haru and shrugged hiyori. He didn't even bother to at least explain properly like a mature athlete. Hiyori was so misunderstood but many don't see that ikuya doesn't treat his friend better. Makes me think that High Speed Ikuya is better than anime Ikuya.

• Our precious iwatobi and samezuka kids. Oh good grief, i've barely read anything about them in the spoilers. They were quite neglected (seriously, s3 started it). If in s2 haru and other's future plans were the main focus, how come the youngsters don't get the spotlight they deserve? Season 3 got 12 + 1 episodes, they could at least have 2 good episodes to focus on what Nagisa, Rei, Gou, and Ai are planning for their future. It would have been good if it was included that they have been scouted. Like ai and nagisa being scouted by shimogami while rei gets scouted by hidaka, gou decides to take similar career to makoto; she can also become a sports nutritionist (the proper way lol). Also, since ai and mikhail are relatives, it would have been interesting if it was revealed that ai persuaded his uncle to coach rin (because ai got ai for rin and would do what he can to give support). And sweet momo-kun would be expected to become the next captain (being captain runs in the blood) and have realization that he needs to be more serious in holding the team. I wish the new iwatobi and samezuka relay team were also given more appreciation. By the way, s3's ending theme was so misleading that i thought nagisa and nao would actually meet. I've never seen something more misleading. They could've at least let them meet during the time when makoto brought over the iwatobi kids at the swim club for practice. Imagine nao answering to nagisa's hyper questions. *sigh~ i feel bad for my kids. They deserved better.

• Then we have our candy boys kisumi and asahi. Kisumi needs more appreciation. I've read somewhere that he should be given some focus too (which i agree to). Like exploring about his basketball club, the others supporting kisumi and cheering him up during a game. He plays such an important role in connecting the others. It's even amazing that he and asahi have maintained connection somehow even after asahi moved out back in junior high. The hint to that is the TYM where the two of them had a phone call. And when it comes to asahi, it would have been good to see a deeper aspect of him. I wish they connected asahi and rin too. I mean it's actually canon, in a way (their dads were buddies). Anyways, asakisu pair is part of the refreshing pairs alongside nagirei. Come to think of it, asahi and kisumi are flexible when it comes to pairings (kisurin, kisuke, asaiku, asarei).

• Of course, the other characters too. The drama cds were such a blessing since they show more of other characters like teacher ama and coach sasabe. But still, i wish we saw more of them too. Imagine teacher ama's previous profession being revealed to the kids or having a flashback of coach sasabe's high school days (though there's little info on this one). Or better yet, let coach Goro and coach Azuma meet, since they are both iwatobi hs alumni. Another wishful thinking for me is to see coach mikhail and ai together (mikhail could've attended the nationals at least to support ai). And a bonus: a meeting between coach mikhail and gou (and have muscle talk all day long). The "vilains" or should i say "powerful rivals" were better off either removed from s3 or introduced early on. I'm not saying they are not necessary, but the plot line would have had a better flow if they have Kinjou for s3 and move Albert to a later timeline. *sigh~ makes me think that s3 should have neen 16 eps instead of 12 (13 if you include the ep 0)

Free! (Genshin AU)
I'm up to it once again, more Genshin AUs for other fandoms. I really have little to none ideas eh. But it's nice to imagine what these characters would be like if they were in Genshin Universe. So feel free to request of your headcanons or so.
Take a look at the other fandoms I've hc-ed for:
MTP, Haikyuu ( Karasuno // Nekoma ), MLQC, Idolish7 (I7 & Trigger // Re:Vale & ZOOL // Other Characters)
~~~~~~
~ IWATOBI GANG~
- Haruka Nanase - Vision: Hydro Weapon: Catalyst/Bow Affiliation: Mondstadt
> I wanted to give him catalyst but at the same time he kinda fits with a bow. And putting him in Mondstadt seems so right. It's freedom in that nation, you can find him swimming at the Cider Lake.
- Makoto Tachibana - Vision: Geo Weapon: Claymore Affiliation: Mondstadt, Dawn Winery
> My man Makoto already screams like a Geo character. Tall, handsome, muscular? Claymore. Making him work with Diluc at Dawn Winery also sounds nice. Who wants a barista/waiter Makoto?
- Nagisa Hazuki - Vision: Anemo Weapon: Polearm Affiliation: Mondstadt
> This boy here, is so carefree and fun to be around. Imagining him with Anemo sounds very right. We can see him running around with kids, maybe fooling around with Venti. He might even do tricks with his polearm to entertain the people.
- Rei Ryugazaki - Vision: Electro/Hydro Weapon: Sword Affiliation: Knights of Favonius, Mondstadt
> Tbh, idk if Rei would be blessed with Electro or Hydro. But a part of my thinks that he might be an Electro user. Rei is definitely part of the Alchemist faction of the KoF as one of Albedo's assistants. He likes beauty, thus I can definitely see him fight with a sword passionately.
- Shizuru Isurugi - Vision: Hydro Weapon: Claymore Affiliation: Liyue
> He talks about fish and compare things with seafood. I see him coming from Liyue and probably be the son of one of the greatest fishermen there.
- Romio Hayahune - Vision: Cryo Weapon: Bow Affiliation: Liyue
> I don't really know much nor take notice of him, but my impression of him is that he might be blessed with Cryo vision. He did mention Tokyo is his second home, thus why I think he fits by coming from Liyue, a nation of contracts and business.
- Gou Matsuoka - Vision: Cryo Weapon: Catalyst/Sword Affiliation: Inazuma (former), Mondstadt
> The Matsuoka family moves around a lot during Gou's and Rin's childhood. And she definitely has Cryo vision to mess around with the Iwatobi guys. Like freezing the lake to avoid Haru from swimming during the winter, creating ice paths to let kids play on the ice and other things.
- Ayumu Kunikida - Vision: Geo Weapon: Catalyst Affiliation: Mondstadt
> She looks like Geo Sucrose. She'll be with Timaeus instead of the KoF. She'll throw rocks at the baddies from a far, unintentionally playing pranks on the hilichurls. She'll be Sucrose's best friend too. They'd create the weirdest and questionable things ever.
~ SAMEZUKA GANG ~
- Rin Matsuoka - Vision: Pyro Weapon: Claymore Affiliation: Inazuma // Fontaine
> He has pyro vision 100%! Passionate with his dreams to the point he might accidentally burn something. Probably evaporate the water at times. Gou will be the one who would help him maintain the water level. She'd freeze liquid while he melts them.
- Sousuke Yamazaki - Vision: Geo Weapon: Claymore Affiliation: Inazuma // Liyue
> Rock hard muscle man carries a claymore like his buddy. Geo vision user indeed. He can also be a healer and DPS like Noelle! He'd be Rin's best partner in the team aside from Haru and Gou. Since Rin and Sousuke were from Inazuma, I can see them returning and being part of the resistance with Sangonomiya. They'd fight for freedom together (and making sure that Rin doesn't explode like a volcano)
- Aiichirou Nitori - Vision: Dendro Weapon: Sword Affiliation: Sangonomiya Troupe, Inazuma
> Idk why, but Nitori looks like he would have Dendro vision. I see him as a person who likes nature and would be more of a healer and support. He'd be with the medical team of the resistance. And making sure Momo behaves.
- Momotarou Mikoshiba - Vision: Electro Weapon: Polearm Affiliation: Sangonomiya Troupe, Inazuma
> Boy is so explosive he may have had created Overload with his brother or Rin. He's exciting but also has limits. At least he listens to the general and the higher ups, making him one of the best fighter in the resistance.
~ HIDAKA U ~
- Seijuurou Mikoshiba ~ Vision: Pyro Weapon: Claymore Affiliation: Sangonomiya Troupe, Inazuma
> Mikoshiba Chaos number 1. Do I need to say more? Chaos with his siblings? Why not. Not only that, he's one of the best captains in the resistance, leading his team with full victory, training them to be the best of the best. He received recognition from both Gorou and Kokomi. Was probably one of the Tenryou Commission officers but betrayed them once the Vision Hunt Decree happened.
- Asahi Shiina - Vision: Pyro Weapon: Polearm Affiliation: Liyue
> Probably the son of one of the commissioners in Liyue. And most likely one of the best adventurers of Liyue. Also a promoted officer of the Millelith. Like Seijuurou, he's a good leader. He may be reckless, but his chaotic and lively attitude brings positivity in the team work.
- Kisumi Shigino - Vision: Anemo Weapon: Sword Affiliation: Fontaine // Liyue
> This guy is so carefree but when it comes to business or leading his adventure team, he's serious. As a reference that his uncle works with a company that's gotta do with housings, his family probably is a part of a commissioner thingy and has contacts with the Liyue Qixing. He's like Tohma in a way, kinda like the middle man or a fixer. We need him to deal with complicated things.
~ SHIMOGAMI U ~
- Tsubasa Hoshikawa - Vision: Electro Weapon: Polearm Affiliation: Doushin, Inazuma
> He's a minor character but he shows good leadership by how he talks to his teammates. I imagine him being one of the generals of the Tenryou Commission
- Ikuya Kirishima - Vision: Cryo Weapon: Bow Affiliation: Tenryou Commission, Inazuma
> I was so close to imagining him using a claymore as a reference of Razor. I headcanon cryo characters to be someone perfectionist in a way, thus why I think Ikuya might be a Cryo vision bearer.
- Hiyori Toono - Vision: Geo Weapon: Sword Affiliation: Kanjou Commission, Inazuma
> Kanjou commission clearly shows how much they wanted to manipulate traveler upon them reaching Inazuma. And that's what and how I view Hiyori as. He's cheeky, good with words. He might be like Tohma, a fixer, at the same time manipulating people with taxes and whatever Kanjou Commission does. He might even block outlanders with his Geo vision.
~ OTHERS ~
- Natsuya Kirishima - Vision: Pyro Weapon: Claymore Affiliation: Tenryou Commission (former), The Crux (current)
> My man Natsuya travels a lot. He's like Kazuha, the wandering ronin. I can definitely see him as Beidou's second in command in the ship. He's also a good leader, a caring and kind individual. His pyro vision provides warmth in the cold nights in the sea. If this guy even dare, he would even dive into the sea to swim.
- Nao Serizawa - Vision: Dendro Weapon: Catalyst/Bow/Sword Affiliation: Bubu Pharmacy, Liyue
> I can see him working as Baizhu's disciple. I don't know why I see him having dendro vision, but he just screams dendro. He's majoring as sports medic of some sorts, thus I see him working with Bubu Pharmacy along with Qiqi. He would expect Natsuya and other characters to visit him to ask for medicines.
- Isuzu Mikoshiba - Vision: Anemo Weapon: Sword Affiliation: Sangonomiya Troupe, Inazuma
> Mikoshiba Chaos number 2. With anemo, she can apply swirl to overload from her brothers' visions. Following Seijuurou's footsteps, she strives to become a good leader and role model. Kokomi would even ask her to be her assistant. Big bro Mikoshiba is proud of little sister Mikoshiba.
- Kaede Kinjou - Vision: Electro [Hydro; Delusion] Weapon: Claymore Affiliation: Fatui, Snehznaya
> idl this guy. I definitely see him with the fatui. His few targets would be Ikuya, Rin, Haruka, Sousuke and Asahi. I can see him fooling around with them with so many ruthless tactics he has under his sleeves. Not to mention how aggressive he can be. Scaramouche weaker version.
- Albert Volandel - Vision: Cryo/Hydro Weapon: Polearm Affiliation: Fontaine
> I view him fighting as gracefully as Rei, maybe even more. But as for his vision, I'm unsure if he would be blessed with cryo or hydro.
~~~~~~
It took me quite some time to figure out the characters whenever I do these things. But any whooo, a family fic for Natsuya is coming soon, as well as my first two requests are now under editing. Stay tuned for the stories!
