Mon - Take a picture of your desk/study space
Technically speaking, I don’t have a set study space, usually I work at a different place every day!
More calculus as always, luckily my lovely study partner misty is here to give me motivation!

november 18, 2019.
i spent the weekend procrastinating which led me to cramming one subject up until midnight (and i didn’t even finish). i don’t know if it’s because i lack discipline or i’m demotivated but i really don’t like doing stuff lately. like, i get super pumped up about getting good grades but when it’s the real deal i just plop away. but anyway, i got myself to do this so i’m proud of myself! (even if it’s just a very small task behind my long long to-do list) i promise i’ll move tomorrow, no matter how small my steps are. i will win this battle!!

03/12/19
<049/100>
Tutored for 2 hours
Studied 2 chem chapters
Prepared my letter for Jin
I find it easier to summarize information onto sticky notes and paste them in the textbook rather than writing notes when I get closer to exams. This forces me to understand and condense the topics.
Hope you had a productive day! 💙

can it please be september 2020 already, I really want to go to uni 🤧
as much as i need this gap year to rest, gain experience and earn some money before moving to london, I can’t wait for it to be over. so here’s a small throwback to the undergraduate open day at city (going to a similar event, this time to westminster uni, in october!) ft. a study session from exam season because I miss those a lot too

07.31.2019 >> yer a grad student, harry
this quarter really is going by fast! i just did course selection for fall and with a move in the air i’ve switched over to online classes. hopefully it’ll go over well!
in the mean time i’ve got my introduction to databases midterm this week. it’s open text, open note but the professor said he made it difficult on purpose... after giving us next to no feedback throughout the quarter so far. yikes.

Still a month to go for back to school, but I decided for the first time since I got this studyblr to try to do a back to school series. Here I leave 7* apps that made all the difference in my daily life, not only as a college student but as a student and person in general.
Microsoft OneNote
Do you make digital notes in class? Summaries of readings? Plans for projects you can share with other group members? Planning ideas for your final work? OneNote is the ideal option as it allows you to share with anyone you want, to organize each of your notes in detail with folders and markers. Always with the advantage that you have access wherever you are to files without having to keep saving and sending to thousands of places.
CamScanner
Although some of the features are premium, it's something that has saved my life. I spend my life getting readings to do, and several times it is necessary to buy books when I only need to read a single chapter. So instead of using photos, this app gives me the advantage of a simple photo becoming a pdf file where I can work.
Forest
Concentration problems? Used to let short breaks earn you the need to study? And that quick sneak peek at social networks? Using the Pomodoro technique this app allows you to improve concentration and your study. Since for every complete cycle, we are creating a tree and a forest. I've always had problems with this kind of apps because I need rewards to be able to break bad habits. With Forest, I let my stubbornness win because I hate to leave the app and kill a tree.
Mindly
In the middle of my dozens of ways to study, learn and organize my life, I believe mind maps are a huge help, as they are simple to read and attention-grabbing. Because of that, I feel in love with Mindly during my freshman year in college. It made me improve my study in many ways, as it allowed me not only to build something that always goes with me but also to improve the way I communicate with my groupmates as ideas were not just on paper with a single member.
iStudiez Pro
I hate needing the internet and a lot of work surfing the college server just to get access to information about my grades, teachers or classes. That's why I have the habit of at the beginning of each semester to point all the information of each teacher and schedules in my bullet journal, but I don’t always have it with me. iStudiez Pro has become the ideal solution for this as I can put together all the information I need throughout the semester regarding my academic life.
Mobilis
Regardless of being a student or not, there are countless expenses in our daily life, and the reality is that money disappears like magic without realizing it. As someone who hates to spend money in vain or in excess I am always looking for apps that help me with my financial management and Mobilis surprised me positively, it is in Portuguese so it may not be the best solution for everyone, but the reality is that I don't have access to Mint, that I really love, on my phone and had to find an alternative. Mobilis let you keep track of spending, give you weekly tips, lets you budget to avoid overspending, shows you where you spend more than ideally averaging, and even offers in-app coins every time we use the app to earn rewards. It doesn't have to be this app, but the reality is that a financial management app is a big help.
Lifesum
The hard reality I discovered with college is that control of what we ingest sometimes becomes null and void. With that in mind and hoping to maintain a healthy diet, I found that Lifesum has everything I ever wanted to help me. Although this app also has premium features for those who can afford it I recommended it, as they offer eating plans with numerous recipe suggestions. But the free version is also a lifesaver, allowing you to measure over time body weight and measurements to see improvements, they have water, fruit and vegetable trackers, it allows us to take a test to see what needs improvement in our diet, we can record each food we eat by searching or barcode, such as exercise we do and see how many calories we eat daily such as carbohydrates and so on.
Bonus*: Freedom
If you really want to improve your productivity, but Forest isn't for you. I recommend Freedom, an app and website blocker compatible with your phone and computer. You still can set your timer and when started it will immediately block every one of the apps and websites that you choose.

ap bio: a guide
hey everyone! i am back with another subject master post, this time on ap bio. i took ap biology because i loved the non-ap class and because i was excited about the subject, so here are some tips and tricks to survive
general class tips
TAKE LOTS OF NOTES: one of the best decisions i made was to take notes online then rewrite them in a little notebook before tests. it helped me review the content  while also compiling information before the ap test
PRACTICE THOSE FRQs: we had frqs on every test within the class and it helped a lot for the ap. my teacher also made us do an frq a week before the exam. overall: just practice them so you know how to apply theories and concepts to questions
KNOW GENERAL SCIENCE SKILLS: as boring as it seems, make sure you know the scientific method and how to graph. they are so important for the test and show up much more than you think.
USE OUTSIDE SOURCES: use khan academy, use bbc bitesize, use a princeton review book. they are all really great ways to quiz yourself before tests in class and also the ap. they also help re-outline concepts if you do not understand them. speaking of which…
resources i used
ap central
question bank (for igcse, but equally as helpful)
khan academy
bbc bitesize (for gcses, but also helpful)
practice questions
more practice questions before in-class tests
cram packet
lecture slides
masterpost with resources for specific topics by @study-well
exam day tips
i’ll probably post a whole separate thing closer to the exam next year (lol it is a bit early!) but here are just a few things to remember
BRING SNACKS AND A WATER BOTTLE! this test is 3+ hours. make sure you have eaten and slept before you go to the exam
ON THE MULTIPLE CHOICE: take your time (you have 90 minutes). if you get stuck on a problem, come back to it. remember, there are no questions that blatantly test your bio knowledge without context so use the clues around you when guessing
ONE THE FRQs: answer the questions in the order you want. i personally answered the two biggest ones first and skipped around on the back end. you also have a lot of time of the FRQs so use it to your advantage. also don’t be afraid to describe something if you don’t know the word for it. and don’t forget to label your graphs and stuff :)
best of luck to everyone taking a bio next year! let me know if you need any advice. get that carbohydrate!

Hey huns! I changed my tracking tag from #heykid to #heykidd cause I decided I prefer that spelling, also I wasn’t seeing some of the stuff I’d been tagged the tag had a lot of random use.

112219.
had the craziest friday of the term so far. i went to a class and was surprised to see none of my classmates and my professor in the room only to realize that i didn’t have any class on fridays (mind you, this term’ll be ending in a few weeks). instead, we had this in-campus fieldtrip of some sort which i thought would be tomorrow (bc i seriously thought it was thursday today) but lucky me, i made it just in time! aside from that, i really had a productive day and i am so proud of myself bc i was able to pick myself up after four days of breaking down and wallowing into self-destruction.
here’s what i was able to do:
• study korean again and finish the second half of lesson 13.
• finished re-writing/reviewing my notes (1/2)
• did half of a homework that is due on monday
• did three software exercises which are all due for tomorrow’s make-up class
