Walking a couple of leather clad women around Amish town would be hilarious.
Don't mind us. Get down and clean your paws now. That's a good kitty. Now clean your mistress's boots while you are down there
Meanwhile Jedediah is scraping along the brick paven road on his horse drawn carriage and looks over.
*clack clack clack*
These damn sinners I yell. I thought this place was better than that. And I slap both of your asses and we walk away
There is a clatter as Jedediah crashes into the gift shop on the corner.
I dunno, we vanish or something.

Girls like you
THE POOL
JJ Maybank wasn't really sure why the Y/L/N family had hired him to clean out their pool when summer started. They seemed to like him around the hotel when they went for meals but he wasn't exactly qualified, he wasn't complaining though, they tip well and it couldn't be that hard.
His only problem was Y/N.
They never got on well. She was friends with Kie in her kook year, who even went as far as to dub her 'the only kook who doesn't make me want to gauge my eyes out', so she knew the pogues from around although they'd grown apart the girls shared no bad blood and always stopped to catch up when they saw each other around.
He was in the middle of raking the leaves from the large pool when he saw her. She was crossing the garden from the large mansion, clad in a bikini with sunglasses perched on the end of her nose. JJ hates how good she looks, her curves perfectly on display and a confident aura around her.
She's got headphones in, he notices as she saunters closer.
"Hi princess," He smirks, watching as she rolls her eyes
"I'm not your princess. How long are you gonna be?" She questions, settling onto one of the sun loungers next to the pool
"An hour or so," JJ states
"Well, could you do it quietly I'm hungover and I wanna just relax," She states, slipping the second headphone back into her ear before he can reply.
He cleans, unaware of her watching him from behind the glasses as she sips on her bottle of cold water. She would never tell anyone but watching him work, his muscles tensing and untensing under his vest shirt, a light sweat from the hot summer day on his skin, she couldn't help herself from thinking he looked good.
He would definitely admit to John B that he thought she looked fit. Her breasts spilling out of her bikini top a little and the barely there thong bottom's high cut making her legs look excruciatingly long. He'd probably make some crude jokes about hate sex being way more fun. He wouldn't admit though, to finding something very comforting about her presence, and finding the way she hummed along to whatever she was listening too adorable.
It's a further 40 minutes, JJ is trying to work out how to get the pool vaccuum to turn on, when her phone rings loudly.
"Hey Sare," Her voice speaks. JJ figures quickly it's Sarah Cameron, the pair are practically inseparable and the whole island knows it.
He half listens to her side of the conversation, more out of boredom than interest.
"No, babes, I love you and all but I really don't wanna. The last million times I've seen Rafe he's been so weird and creepy and I don't wanna be alone with him,"
JJ doesn't know why the comment angers him so much. Why does he even care if Rafe is clearly trying to pull her? It's none of his business. Yet, he can feel his blood boiling at the thought.
"No Sar, if I go and you have to stay with me then you can't go and be with Topper,"
She's silent for a few minutes before sighing "Fine. Fine, I'll come. See you in a minute. Bring me some shorts, I'm in the garden and can't be arsed to go upstairs and find some. You owe me forever,"
JJ wants to scream. Wants to tell her she shouldn't go if she feels uncomfortable around Kelce. He wishes Kie were here, maybe she could talk her into staying where she felt safe.  Maybe she would be able to explain why JJ even gives a shit.
"Maybank," She states, he looks up, trying to act like he hasn't been listening. "I'm going out. You'll be the only one here," She informs
"Okay," He nods.
"My keys are on the kitchen counter, lock up when you're done and I'll just grab them from you at the hotel,"
"All right," He agrees
"When will you be there?" She questions, looking at him like he's an idiot. He groans internally, obviously she needed to know that.
"Tomorrow, 2 until closing,"
'"I'll swing by around 4," She informs. He nods, trying not to stare at her as she lets her hair down from the ponytail it had been in, shaking it out. A car honks outside and she turns, walking up the garden towards the side gates, turning a few metres away,
"Oh, there's an envelope on the kitchen counter with your tip in," She adds
"Thanks. Goodbye princess," He smiles,
"Still not your princess," she shouts back, turning and disappearing round the corner.
THE CAR
JJ felt a lot more in his element when her dad had called him asking if he could fix her car. He hadn't specified it was his eldest daughters, and JJ knew the family owned 7 cards despite only 3 of them even being able to drive.
JJ recognised it though, a white convertible porsche, he'd seen her driving it around before. Wether she was blasting music with the roof down singing with Sarah, picking up a take out from the wreck, driving around in the middle of the night, she'd even given Kie a lift to the Chateau before. He realised that he always seemed to notice her presence.
He was working in the family's garage, the bonnet popped open and grease all over him. It was an easy fix, if a little fiddly.
He jumped out of his skin when the door burst open.  He is immediately taken aback by how good she looks. Clad in a tight black skirt that is ridiculously short, heels and a tight black V neck top with a lace trim around the neck. Her hair falls in bouncy curls around her shoulders and her makeup looks perfect. He would have sworn on everything he'd never seen anyone look so beautiful.
"You're a boy," The girl states.
"Good job noticing that one princess," JJ smirks, she rolls her eyes.
"I have a date and Sarah is being so unhelpful, can you help me pick a top?" She questions, he gulps, nodding.
"Okay, so this is option 1,"
"It looks good,"
"Right. But is it sexy? Do you look at me and think I wanna slam her against a wall and rail her?"
His eyes widen a little, that's one way of putting it he decides.
"Look, I'm your families help, I shouldn't be answering that,"
"Like I care Maybank," She groans, exasperated.
"Okay fine, I look at you in that and I think I wanna rip your clothes off,"
"Okay good. Option 2," She starts. JJ is shocked when she pulls her top off in front of him, without even turning around. He turns around, although not without taking a mental picture of her boobs being pushed up in a red lace bra. "Who knew you were a prude?"
"Just respecting you princess," He comments
"You've seen me in a bikini, what's the difference?" She questions, he stays silent having no quick comment to respond with. "I'm dressed," She states
He turns back around, she looks good, a forest green top made of satin.
"The first one is sexy, that one is cute,"
"Thanks JJ, oh, and hey, thanks for fixing my car,"
"Uh. Yeah, anytime,"
THE SUMMER HOUSE
JJ was happy to paint the summer house. He claimed to his friends it was just because they way over paid and tipped big. In reality it was because for three days straight he would get to catch glimpses of her. And he did.
He saw her when she swam in her pool.
He saw her when she played in the garden with her little sister.
He saw her when she cloud gazed with Sarah Cameron.
The best times he got to see her though, were when she would bring him stuff. Every so often she'd knock on the open door to the summer house, sometimes with water, sometimes with snacks, a few times even with a beer. A couple of times she stopped and made small talk, one time she even smeared paint on his cheek and giggled as he chased her through the garden.
He enters the kitchen, used to how the family worked now. An envelope of money waiting on the kitchen counter, they always seemed to be coming and going so it was easier.
He was shocked to see her in the kitchen, she's scrolling on her phone sipping on what looks to be an iced coffee
"Oh, hey JJ," She smiles
"Hey, I'm done," he informs, she nods, watching as he picks up the envelope "So, I'll be seeing you around,"
"Did you want a lift?" She questions, he looks at her slightly confused "I just noticed your bike wasn't here and it's kinda late to be walking back. It's a long walk,"
"You really don't have to princess,"
"Honestly, it's fine," she assures, jumping up and grabbing her keys before heading towards the garage.
She wasn't sure when she stopped hating JJ Maybank, wasn't sure when she started noticing little things like the blue in his eyes and which snapback he was wearing and how tired he looked. She wasn't sure when the sight of his bike in the driveway started giving her butterflies.
"So where is your bike?" She questions, the roof of the car is down and the wind blowing through her hair as she pulls out of the private estate her home is on.
"Didn't have enough fuel to get to yours and back," He shrugs
"Why didn't you just-" She cuts herself off "Shit, I'm so sorry. That was insanely rude, I wasn't even thinking and-" He chuckles, watching as she splutters and blushes
"It's okay. Life is different on the cut I can understand how a kook princess wouldn't get it," He shrugs, she nods, still not sure what to say.
"Y'know my life isn't perfect," She comments, he scoffs, unable to help himself. "I'm not kidding. It's privileged as fuck, I know that, but it's not perfect,"
"Go on then princess, what's so shit?" He doesn't mean for it to sound so harsh, he's genuinely curious
"My parents, they have basically planned my entire life, down to where I'll go to college, what sorority I'll be in, where I'll work my summer internship, who I'll marry, where I'll get married, which big kook house I'll live in,  at what age I'll have to give up my career, which has been decided for me by them, to start trying for babies. It's 24 by the way so in 8 years. My whole life is decided and I don't want it. I wanna go on a trip around the world and surf and travel and explore. I wanna fall in love and get my heartbroken again and again until I find the right guy. I wanna live in a New York apartment and I wanna see the world. I don't wanna marry Rafe Cameron just cause our mothers are friends. I mean he's literally scary and harasses me and acts like even though I'm 16 I shouldn't have a choice cause one day he'll father my kids. And no one gets it, none of my friends, not even my best friend. The only person who ever understood why it was so shit was Kie and then she left, she left and lives her life and it's fun and exciting and anything could happen. I don't hate her for it but it fucking sucks that she left me miserable. I'll be miserable living my planned out life and then I'll die. Yeah, I have money and that's fucking great, but my life is far from perfect,"
JJ sits in a stunned silence. He's not really sure what to say. Their problems were very different but hers were just as shitty. He feels like he's seeing her in a whole new light.
"Sorry. I shouldn't have said that. I don't tell people that and we barely no each other," She mutters, not wanting to look at him
"Where would you go first?" His question surprised her
"On my fictitious surf trip?" She questions, he nods "Europe, Spain I think,"
They sit in silence the rest of the way, it's not awkward though, both of them feel comforted by each other presence. He gives her instructions to the chateau.
"We are probably gonna drink some beers and smoke. You wanna stay? You could crash here and drive home in the morning," JJ offers
"I can't. My family are having dinner at the hotel. Thanks though," She smiles gently
"Yeah. Uh, I hope it's not too shit. Thanks for the ride princess,"
He climbs out of the car, his friends who sit on the porch immediately calling out to him, they're all laughing and teasing him about his lift home and when he looks back he almost thinks he sees a look of longing in her eyes before she's reversing out of the chateau.
THE BOAT
"Can you fix it?" She questions. JJ Maybank has never seen her look nervous before.
It was only 6:30 AM when she'd started banging on the door to the Chateau, tears in her eyes and panic on her face hoping JJ would be here. John B had pulled the door open, half asleep and groaning a little at the bright sunlight. He'd let her into the small home and disappeared to wake JJ up. John B opted not to put too much thought into the way the minute her name was said JJ leaped out of bed and shoved into the living area, the way his hands cupped her cheeks to see if she was okay, the way he was calling her princess as he tried to calm down her hiccuping tears.
"I can fix it," He confirms. They're standing on the deck of her families boat "It's an easy fix princess, okay? don't even worry," He speaks in a comforting tone
"Thank you JJ,"
"No worries. It'll take me a while, you got anywhere to be?"
"No. Well yes, a breakfast thing with the Cameron's but it's at my house and I can't exactly show up without the boat so,"
"So you're hiding out here all day?" JJ questions
"Well, I don't wanna intrude. I can go and hang out at the beach,"
"Don't talk nonsense, you can hang here. C'mon, I need to be down the bottom with the engine, you can sit and entertain me,"
She watches intently as he works, now that he's not working at her house he hasn't bothered with a shirt, instead just wearing shorts and his infamous red baseball cap. He glances at her occasionally, her makeup streaky from crying and wearing a short white dress.
"So, wanna tell me what happened?" He questions
"Not really," She admits, he nods and she sighs before beginning to explain"Rafe wanted to go boating late and then it all went wrong and then we got the boat to the nearest dock, hence why we are in the middle of nowhere, and he said he was going to call someone to get a lift and it was rainy so I was waiting in here.  It had been a while so I went outside to check on him and he was gone. I didn't know what to do. Dad would kill me for breaking the boat, do I just kinda figured I'd walk to yours and hopefully you would no how to fix it. Then I realised I have no clue where you live so I walked to John B's and hoped for the best,"
"He just left you in the middle of nowhere alone?" JJ doesn't know why he's so mad, they were hardly even friends
"Yeah. He texted me to let me know it was cause he's already in shit with his dad and didn't wanna go down for breaking my family's boat," She shrugs, JJ wants to go and find Rafe Cameron and beat his skull in.
"Look, a girl like you deserves someone who would treat them a million times better than that,"
"I always thought you hated me," She admits
"So did I, until this summer I kinda did," He shrugs
"What changed?" She asks, the question is so vulnerable he can't help himself from looking at her
"You aren't what I thought you'd be," He admits, she nods slowly
"How should a girl like me be treated?" She questions
"Like they're the only thing on earth," He's not really sure why he's so openly telling her how he feels but it feels too late now
"Is that how you'd treat me Maybank?"
"Girls like you don't date boys like me," He shrugs, turning quickly back to what he's doing, not wanting her to recognise the disappointment on his face.
THE PARTY
It was no secret her family hosted a big formal party on the 10th of July every year, her parents wedding anniversary. JJ had waited the party the last 2 years and this summer was no different, he'd even managed to get John B and Pope a job too.
His heart had stopped when he saw her, her dress was the exact shade of blue as the sky and flowed beautifully down to her feet, her hair curled with the front pinned back, her makeup beautiful. She looked like an angel approaching him and god why did she have to look so perfect.
"Hey JJ," She smiles, grabbing a glass of champagne from the tray he's holding "Could you do me a favour?"
"Of course," He agrees, expecting some job that needed doing for the party
"If you see Rafe and I'm on my own..." She trails off "I'm trying to avoid him, after the other day,"
It's three hours into the party when JJ grabs her hand, pulling her along behind him and away from Rafe who is clearly trying to catch her alone. He pulls her into a small cupboard slamming the door closed behind him and locking it.
"What was that about?"
"Rafe," He shrugs, he didn't outwardly say he'd been watching her all night to make sure he could look out for her. He also didn't say he would have been watching her all night even if she hadn't asked him too.
"JJ, you know how your coming over next week to fix that one  door that you can't open from inside the cupboard?" She question
"Yeah," He states, peering out of the key hole to see if Rafe is still looking for her
"Well, this is the cupboard,"
"Shit!" He shouts, pulling away from the door to face her. "Shit, it's your parents wedding anniversary and I got you locked in the cupboard,"
"It's alright," She shrugs "They hate each other most the time anyway,"
"Call someone to let you out,"
"Where on this dress did you think there was pockets, you call someone,"
"My phone is in the twinkie,"
"The what?"
"John B's car," JJ sighs. "Fuck princess, I'm so sorry," He groans
"It's fine. Sarah will come looking for me eventually," She shrugs. He nods, watching as she sits down on the ground, patting the space next to her.
He obliges, sitting next to her, knees touching in the tight space.
"You look nice tonight, I like the shirt and tie," She compliments, he can feel himself blush and is glad the cupboard is dark enough she probably can't see it.
"Y'know what you said on the boat the other day?" She questions, he immediately knows what she's referring too "About how girls like me don't date boys like you,"
"Yeah," He confirms
"Why is that?" She questions quietly
"I couldn't make you happy princess. Your parents would hate me. I couldn't take you on the fancy dates you're used to. You wouldn't be happy,"
"My parents love you, they think you're resourceful and hard working. I hate the stuffy dates figure 8 boys take me on," She informs, he laughs a little at that. "Besides, you already make me happy. I'm just saying Maybank, if you don't wanna date me just say it, don't try and put it on me,"
JJ isn't really sure how to react. How to explain he desperately wanted to date her, wanted her to be his girl and wanted to shower her in love and adoration. He isn't sure how to tell her that by inadvertently telling him she wanted to date him she had made him the happiest man on earth. He's not really great with words and it all feels too hard to say.
So, instead, he turns slightly, taking her face in his hands and pulling her to him, his lips crashing against hers and somehow she knows everything he wanted to say.

Note
Hey dear! I hope that you have a good time! I want to make a request, but please delete it if you don't feel like doing it.
I saved that request in the notes and been waiting for you to open them 😊
For request
First fight with brother (any of your choice) and one of them (I mean MC or that brother) thinks that it's end of relationship (because never had anything serious), but they reconciled in the end. I want some heavy angst with happy ending. MC can be GN if that is OK.
If you don't mind you can do for Mammon, but feel free to choose another one if you don't feel like write for him. Or if that would be better to write as headcanons for all the brothers. That's up to you!
I haven't been doing requests for ages. Please don't hate me if there is something wrong! I've read the rules, and I hope I haven't missed anything.
Anyway, sorry for long ask. And thank you for your writings!
(I forgot to look if you did anything similar, and remembered it at the end of writing that ask. Sorry if you already did something like that!)
Hey babes ❤ I did end up doing HCs for all of them because I thought it would be cooler (or more like I know someone is gonna request separate fics for all of them if I dont and I'm saving myself that trouble lol) I still hope you like it ! ❤ also this got SUPER LONG so its under a cut
Warning: angst -> happy ending-ish
THE BROTHERS in a fight with MC and thinking that they’re over (yikes)
Lucifer:
Everyone always says Lucifer is quick to lose his cool but he’s honestly been nothing but patient with you. He may have hinted at several things he doesn’t condone and he definitely has that ‘look’, you know the disappointed dad look, but he has held back a lot so as to not ruin the beautiful relationship you have with him. Everyone snaps, though, and when he finally did, it was ugly. He did NOT call you names, but oh he didn’t. He went straight for your feelings and pointed out every mistake you ever made for as long as he’s known you. Ouch. In his defense, you weren’t nice either. The argument ended nasty and ‘I hate you’s!’ were definitely thrown around, but none of them were meant, right? Goodness, he doesn’t know. After you left, he threw himself on his bed, literally, and just stared at the ceiling. His anger slowly fled away and he began to feel… guilty. Not necessarily because of the argument itself, but because he delivered some low blows and he knows that. Are you over? Done with him? You haven’t texted or called or talked… you’ve been actively avoiding him and he doesn’t like that, but his pride is such an issue, goodness. He can’t straight up apologize, that dickhead, but he’s sending you flowers and standing in front of your door with a sad face that says it all.
“Forgive me? I made reservations at your favorite’s? We can talk over a nice dinner?”
Mammon:
Mammon is known to get mildly agitated over the silliest things, let’s be real. He’s also quick to revert to the “are you dumb?!” argument, which is never effective. But he loves you and he would do anything for you so even if you do do something that he deems ‘dumb’, he usually bites his tongue. Doesn’t mean that doesn’t get on his nerves, though, and he definitely has a short temper, although people tend to overlook that. You just managed to push his buttons today and he used the “are ya stupid?!” argument, to which you obviously defended yourself, and rightfully so. This ended in a massive screaming match and him saying “Then leave! Ain’t nobody keepin’ ya with me!” He regretted it the minute those words left his mouth and you could see his eyes grow wide in shock at his own words, but that didn’t mean you stayed. “MC!” he tried running after you immediately but you were faster and honestly, who can blame you? He fucked up, and he knows it, and he feels terrible about it. Honestly, he’s crying just at the mere thought of you taking his words seriously and he can’t… he can’t bear to lose you, you know? What’s he gonna do? You’re the light of his life, as pathetic as that may sound to some…. So he won’t let you run away. Homie will hunt you down and beg for forgiveness.
“Please, MC! Forgive me! I’m dumb, not you!!! Don’t leave me…” Don’t leave him. He will continue crying.
Leviathan:
His constant need to put himself down is frankly, quite annoying. To you anyway. But you put up with it and just reassure him that, at least to you, he’s the most amazing demon that ever existed. It’s just facts. But a person only has so much patience, right? You can’t always spend your days trying to lift him up when all he does is dig himself a bigger hole. Who has the emotional time for that? You sure don’t. “Oh my God, Levi! Shut up! I can’t take it anymore!” Followed by “See! You’re just like everyone else! Leaving me!” and then you slamming the door to his room shut. It’s frustrating and understandably so. It makes you feel awful that you can’t even make your own boyfriend feel good about himself and get at least a little bit of self confidence and it’s so, so, so very draining to have to constantly listen to that. At this point, it’s affecting your own mental health and you just… you just can’t…. But Levi can’t lose you because he knows you’re right. He has to work on himself if he wants to keep someone as amazing as you with him and that’s why he’s crawling back to you now.
“Look I… I know you’re right… I’m sorry. I promise I’ll … I’ll try. For you.”
Satan:
For being the Avatar of Wrath, you always admired Satan for his ability to keep cool. He prefers the relaxed and easy going life much more than the type of life people expect him to live, and you respect that. That doesn’t mean his constant need to one up Lucifer, through whatever means necessary, didn’t bother the hell out of you, though. You tried talking to him about it once or twice in a calm manner, but you always got the same answer “Pfft.. it’s Lucifer. Who cares?” And it never sat right with you. Just today he decided to pull a prank on the eldest and you had enough, standing in front of Lucifer and letting the bucket of cursed green slime land on you instead, to everyone’s shock. “What are you doing?!” Now that you’re thoroughly green from head to toe, you were also beyond pissed. “What am I doing?! What are YOU doing?!” But Satan matched your anger tenfold, accusing you of favoring Lucifer over him and oh! “You probably got an affair with him, too!” Which was a stupid thing on his part, but it looked like it the way you defended him. Anger doesn’t even begin to describe the emotion you felt running through you and had it not been for Lucifer, you probably would’ve physically fought Satan for such a dumb accusation. Lucifer took you to get cleaned up and lifted the course, giving you your natural skin and hair color back within a few days and plenty of scrubbing, and Satan felt like shit. You’ve always been there for him and, rationally speaking, he didn’t have a reason to doubt your loyalty to him, but he just can’t help but feel insecure beside Lucifer…. He decides to come apologize anyway, a deep blush on his face and guilt in his eyes
“I’m… sorry for accusing you. It wasn’t my right to speak out of anger and jealousy…”
Asmodeus:
How can anyone fight with the Avatar of Lust? Seriously, the guy is super easy going and he loves pretty much everyone. Not as much as himself, but almost. You on the other hand… you didn’t. Well you didn’t NOT love him or yourself, but you were just… you. You didn’t spend 4+ hours in the bathroom trying to get ready when you knew you were only going to the kitchen down the stairs. Like?? Although you never brought it up to Asmodeus, he constantly bothered you about skincare and what foods to eat and what not to eat, etc… It’s quite annoying, honestly, and at some point you just gave him a passive aggressive “Okay, whatever. Can we move on now?” To which he didn’t take lightly. He was still nice and sweet, trying to convince you that at least one of these things will make your skin glow brighter than a unicorn’s ass but you just had enough. “Can you stop?! You’re indirectly saying I’m ugly without that shit ton of product in my face and a diet that would make me starve before it helped me! If you want a skinny VS angel that barely holds onto their skeleton, get one!” It was more hurt and frustration speaking than anything, but your outburst still shocked him and he was taken aback for a moment. And then you ignored him for a week straight and as someone who thrives off of attention, especially the kind he gets from you, he can’t handle that! So he showed up in your room in sweats and a tshirt and messy hair and no product on his skin.
“You’re right… we’re all naturally beautiful…. Wow that… that really hurts to say MC but can you forgive me?”
Beelzebub:
Oh the sweet, sweet angel. He’s far from innocent and you know that. We all know that. But for this story, I will give him the benefit of the doubt. His reliance on Belphegor is just really… annoying. Belphegor this, Belphegor that. “Belphie used to…” or “Belphie said….” or “one day when Belphie and I….” Like why does everything have to include his twin? It’s so annoying and so rude when your significant other is right here !!! and planning their own future with you, Beel, thanks. It makes you feel less than and like Belphegor will always come before you. It makes you feel like shit, quite frankly, and who is to blame you? “Hey MC did I tell you what Belphie---!” “No! Shut up! I don’t care! It’s always about Belphie! The day you come to me and don’t let that name drip from your tongue is the day Jesus comes back to save me and we both know that will be never! I’m tired of always being stuck with Belphegor! We are not equals!” Granted, you shouldn’t have yelled and Beel was more than confused at your outburst, but you wouldn’t talk to him anymore after that so he left you alone. He thought you may need an hour or two, maybe a day tops, but that day turned into a full week and he even lost his appetite just because he knows you’re angry with him. It’s been a week, does that mean you’re over? His heart aches just at the thought…
“I’m sorry for bringing Belphie up… I don’t want you to feel less than, MC. You mean a lot to me and so does Belphie, but you’re not Belphie and I need to learn that…”
Belphegor:
Honestly it’s a miracle he hasn’t lost his temper at you yet. Well, he partially blames it on his own laziness because if being angry or getting upset didn’t take so much energy out of him, maybe he would’ve snapped by now lol, but he tries really hard not to because he thinks your relationship with him after everything is pretty good, considering yall kiss and snuggle and fuck on a regular basis. But anyway, that’s exactly the issue. Considering everything, you’re still holding *that* against him. It’s never direct either, which makes it worse. It’s always said in a joking manner and something like “haha look it’s just like that one time you killed me” or “Beel’s grabbing that ham like you grabbed my throat” or “I remember seeing jesus for a moment there” and it agitates him. It makes him so angry, and he finally snapped. “I know I fucked up MC! Stop holding it against me! What do you want? A medal of honor? A survivor's certificate? Maybe a pat on the back for developing some sort of Stockholm syndrome that made you come back to your abuser?!” And then he left. And you may have cried both from confusion and your own anger, he isn’t quite sure. It’s just so…. Aggravating. He can’t deal with it. He knows it was a mistake spurted by his own insecurities and survivor’s guilt which ultimately led to his hatred but please, stop holding it against him.. He can’t keep putting up with it from the person he’s grown to love. He’s the one ignoring you and he won’t budge either because he’s a stubborn ass, but maybe if you come up first…
“I’m sorry for yelling at you… I’m just so tired for it being held against me… I love you, and you should know that, and I do feel guilty about what happened.”

“Alright, easy sis, easy,” he worried, watching her carefully for signs of pain flickering across her face as he helped her off the bike.
She scowled, managing to drag her injured leg forward. “Quit nagging. I’m—ngh—fine.”
“You’re on emergency oxycodone and you’ve got a broken femur,” he retorted. “I’m nagging until you’re in surgery.”
“Ugh, stop reminding me.”
Someone hauled her off her feet with a quiet, “I’ve got you.”
She grunted in pain laying on the gurney. “Thanks, dad.”
“Miss Wayne, are you alright?”
Her eyes found Alfred’s. “I’m good. I just ne—motherfucker!” she yelped, glaring at her father who was squeezing her thigh. “Hey! That’s broken, jackass! Quit!”
Bruce grunted. “You need an ORIF now.”
A pinch in her arm made her twitch and she turned her attention to Alfred who was uncapping a needle. “Alfred, what’s that?”
He shook his head. “Nothing to worry about, Miss Wayne.” Smiling, he stuck the needle into the line. “You’ll feel better when you awaken.”
Her vision blurred rapidly, “Gonna take…a nap…now…” her head lolled, and Bruce met Alfred’s gaze.
“Call Damian. He’s got the steady hand we’ll need.”
***
“How’re you feeling?” Jason asked, setting a cup of juice on the bedside table.
She blinked slowly, staring at her fingers. “Why are my fingers like this?”
“Like what, Queenie?”
“Bendy,” she replied, flexing her fingers. “It’s fuckin’ weird.” She looked at him. “I feel weird.”
He snorted, nodding at Dick and the others who were walking in at the sound of her voice. “You’re on hydromorphone, sis.”
“Hydro—what-what?”
“Hydromorphone, sister,” Damian said. “It has increased your threshold for pain and reduced the perception of it.”
She stared at him like she hadn’t heard a word come out of his mouth. “I didn’t understand a single goddamn word that you just said.”
Snickers sounded around her, but her head was up in the clouds and she rested back against her pillow. Her family gathered around her, sitting up on the bed, and suddenly she cocked her head up, squinting at each of them.
“Sweetheart? What’s wrong?” Bruce inquired.
“Where’s Dick?”
“I’m right here, sis,” he answered, pressing a kiss to the back of her hand. “What’s up?”
“Why’d you break up with Kori?”
His eyes widened. “I—what?”
“Kori. Tall alien with the shooty-hands.”
“I know who she is. What about our breakup?”
“Are you kidding me? That woman is spectacular, and you broke up with her. She’s gorgeous, wicked intelligent, fantastic in bed and—”
“Wait, back up there,” he interrupted. “Good in bed? Did you sleep with, Kori?”
“Oh yeah, totally. I was her rebound after you.”
Dick blinked while the others cackled. “Have you…have you slept with any other exes?”
“Of yours? Or in general with the family’s exes?”
“Wait,” Jason said. “Have you slept with any of mine?”
“Did you date Artemis?”
He shrugged. “Sort of?”
“Then, yes.” She looked at Bruce. “I slept with Selina too, but to be completely honest we were both drunk and I don’t think either of us remember.”
“I uh—” he started, then quieted. “I didn’t know you were gay, sweetheart.”
She let out a ‘pfft’. “I’m not.”
“Oh, you’re bi, then?” Dick smiled and she shook her head.
“Nah, I like the wine but not the label.” She grinned. “I’m a lover of people.”
“How many superheroes have you slept with?” Tim questioned and she pursed her lips.
“Uh…I dunno…kinda lost count.”
For a moment no one said a word, then Jason asked, “You know how we call Dickhead the fuck-boy? Can we refer to you as that now? I think you’ve topped his count.”
Her eyes narrowed into a glare and she pointed at him, though she was seeing double, so it was entirely possible that she was pointing at the wall. “Keep that up and I’ll sleep with your best friend again.”
“You slept with Roy?!”
“I was talking about Kyle, but Roy works too.”
“OH MY GOD! IS THERE ANYONE YOU HAVEN’T SLEPT WITH?”
She thought for a moment, then offered, “Diana. But I asked her out last weekend so it’s up in the air until our date.”
***Part Two***
There was only one rule that everyone collectively followed in Wayne Manor and that was: no excessive noise until after twelve P.M. It was mostly influenced by Alfred who’d more than once pulled out the shotgun but surprisingly, mornings were usually calm and quiet. Keywords: “Were” and “Usually”. There were some special cases.
An ear-splitting scream shattered the silence of the breakfast room and in an instant, everyone was jumping from the table, sprinting towards the staircase to find out what was quite possibly murdering their eldest sister. As they neared the staircase, they came face to face with her as she stood behind the banister, her hands gripping the railing until her knuckles started whitening.
“Sis, what’s wrong?” Dick worried, already starting to come up the steps, Jason and Tim close behind.
“I’m late,” she whispered, and they leaned forward.
“What was that?” Bruce inquired, brows furrowing, and she looked at him.
“I’m late.” Her voice was firmer this time.
He blinked. “How long?”
“Two months.”
“Wait, what’s going on?” Jason questioned, shaking his head and she scowled.
“My period’s late, jackass.”
She wished she’d taken a photo of their faces, because nothing would ever amuse her as much as the way their jaws went slack, eyes widening in total shock. Running a hand down her face, she groaned, “Oh my God. I knew something was up. I completely forgot about it.”
“Sooooo…” Tim drawled out with a recovered grin. “Who’s the daddy?”
Her eyes narrowed and she shot him a glare. “Shut. Up.”
“C’mon sis, someone—some guy did it for you.” Jason quipped. “Who’s the lucky man?” he paused, seeming to remember something. “How many superheroes have you slept with in two months? That have dicks, of course.” She clenched her jaw and his eyes widened. “Oh no. Oh no…is it, Roy?”
“It’s not Roy!” she hissed.
“Kyle?” Dick offered and she shook her head.
“No. I’ve only slept with one guy in the past two months.”
“Who was it sister?” Damian quizzed, placing his hands on his hips. “I have yet to meet anyone acceptable for you to populate with.”
“Thanks Damian,” she griped, then groaned. “Oh God, I know who it is too. And I wish I didn’t.”
“Why’s that?”
Her eyes found Tim’s. “Because we were drunk as hell after a League mission.”
“Who is it?” Bruce grunted and she met his gaze.
“You’re not going to like it.”
Something passed between them, and his eyes narrowed. “Please don’t say that’s who you slept with.”
She nodded, pressing a hand to her face, hiding her embarrassment. “Mhm.”
“You slept with him?”
“Unfortunately.”
Jason looked between his sister and father. “Wait, I’m confused. What’s going on?” A snort sounded beside him, and he looked over, seeing Dick in tears. “Why are you crying? What’s so funny?”
Dick cackled. “SHE SLEPT WITH HAL JORDAN!”
Another round of slack jawed brothers appeared in her sight, and she hissed. “It was an accident!”
“YOU’RE HAVING A BABY WITH HAL JORDAN!” Dick gasped, starting to drop to his knees from laughing so hard. “OH MY GOD, YOU SLEPT WITH THE GUY DAD HATES THE MOST!”
“You slept with Hal Jordan?” Tim gagged. “Ew.”
“Sister, I am disgusted in your choice of partners for children.” Damian noted and she scowled.
“I hate all of you.” she looked at Bruce.
He sighed heavily, a defeated father…or maybe a defeated grandfather. “I’ll go call Hal…and order prenatal vitamins.”
She ran a hand down her face. “I’ll call Leslie and get in for an exam.”
“Holy shit,” Jason gasped. “We’re gonna be uncles!”
***Part Three***
He shifted the phone to rest between his ear and shoulder, hands busy pouring coffee into his cup. “Hello?”
What are you doing right now?
“Bruce? Is that you?”
Answer the question, Hal.
He rolled his eyes and frowned. “Well, it’s nine A.M., I’m making a cup of coffee. I know bats are nocturnal, so this might come as a surprise to someone like you, but rest assured it’s a normal habit for us normal folks.”
How fast can you get to Gotham City?
“Willingly?” Hal chuckled, setting down the coffee pot to grab the phone. “What’s going on?”
I need your…help…with something. And I need you in Gotham as fast as you can get here…please.
He almost dropped both the phone and coffee mug. “Did you just say you need my he—” the line went dead with a click, and he pulled the phone from his ear. “Asshole,” Hal scowled and shoved the phone in his pocket, before putting the mug down. His body flashed green as he suited up and he sighed. “Can’t believe I gotta go to the land of the living dead at nine A.M.”
***
He rubbed his temples as he disconnected the call, barely suppressing the sigh that wanted to escape him. “Are you mad at me?” he heard behind him, low, scared, and worried; he shook his head.
“No.”
She leaned against the desk, staring down at the side of his head. “Are you disappointed in me?”
Bruce sighed this time. “At your basic lack of common sense and sleeping with a team member despite the fact that I’ve told you time and again that inner-team-dalliances only end badly? Yes.” He turned his eyes to her. “But for being pregnant? Never.”
“Doesn’t seem like it, dad,” she muttered, crossing her arms over her chest; he watched them lower to hold her stomach.
“I think Hal Jordan’s an idiot,” he stated. “If it seems like I’m upset, it’s because he’s going to be my grandchild’s father and I’ll have to be nice to him now.” She huffed a laugh and he reached over, placing a hand on her arm. “It’s going to be okay, sweetheart. We’ll take care of this.”
“I know, it’s just…” she sighed. “I never expected this to happen.”
“No one ever does,” Bruce answered. “Have you contacted Leslie yet?”
She nodded. “Yeah. I’ll go see her around three.” Grunting, she muttered, “Figured if Hal got here in as soon as possible, we’d have enough time to sit and talk about this before we went.” She ran a hand over her face. “God, I can’t believe I Hal knocked me up.”
“Please don’t say that,” Bruce griped. “I don’t like that phrase.”
“But that’s what happened, dad. I got knocked up by Hal.”
“Why do you hate me?” he scowled, dropping his head into his hands. “How did this even happen?”
Sighing, she recounted, “After the mission in Brazil, Hal invited Barry back to Coast City for a drink and Barry invited me.” She shrugged. “I didn’t wanna be rude even if I am typically antisocial, so I accepted, and we got there and found a bar. After a couple hours, Barry had to get back to Central and we just decided to keep drinking.”
She grunted. “Hell, by seven thirty we were already gone so we got a ride back to his place and he offered to let me stay the night and one thing led to another and—”
Bruce raised his hand, effectively silencing her. “I can infer what happened after that.” He rubbed his temples. “Let’s just wait for Hal to get here, yeah?”
“Yeah,” she agreed, falling silent.
***
Alfred cleared his throat. “Master Jordan, is here, sir.” They both looked up from the Batcomputer at the test pilot.
“Thank you, Alfred,” Bruce said, and the butler nodded, ascending the steps.
Hal walked towards them. “So, what’s the deal? Why do you need me?”
Bruce looked at her and she sighed. “Actually, I’m the one who needed you to come here, Hal.”
His brown eyes darted to hers, a flash, a recognition of something and he nodded. “Aright. What’s up?”
“Dad…give us a moment?” he nodded and stood from the Batcomputer, walking to the medical section on the other side of the cave. She waved Hal over. “You might wanna sit down.”
He did, albeit suspiciously. “Why are you acting so…weird?”
“Hal,” she said, then looked at her hands. “I’m…ah crap.”
“What’s wrong?” he asked, brows furrowing.
She took a deep breath and admitted, “My period’s late and there’s a good chance I’m pregnant.”
For a moment, Hal didn’t say a word, then he burst into laughter. “Oh, that’s hilarious!” he held his stomach and wiped his eyes. “That’s a good one.”
“I’m not joking, Hal,” she spat. “In the last three months, you’re the only man I’ve had sex with. If I’m pregnant, you’re the father.”
He stopped laughing at that. “Are you being serious?”
“Dead.”
Hal ran a hand through his brown hair and let out a shocked breath. “Holy hell.” She watched him and he gaped at her. “W-what…what do we do?”
“I’ve got an appointment with Doctor Leslie at four. You’re welcome to come along if you’d like.”
He nodded. “Yeah. Yeah, I will.” Swallowing thickly, he said, “Does he know?”
“Dad? Yeah. They all do.”
“They?” he repeated, eyes wide.
“My brothers.”
“You told them we slept together?”
She chuckled. “Apparently a year ago under heavy meds, I admitted I slept with Dad, Dick, and Jason’s exes.” She shrugged. “There’s not much I keep from them.”
Hal’s eyes shifted to Bruce’s back. “Can’t imagine the Big-Bat is happy about this.”
“Oh, he’s not. He thinks you’re an idiot, but judging by the look on your face, you already know that.”
He scoffed. “Your dad likes to think he’s smarter than everyone else.”
She cocked a brow. “He is.”
“And it seems like you’re following that strain well,” he shot back, and they glared at each other before cracking smiles.
“If this is real, we’re going to be some parents, huh?”
Hal could sense the fear in her voice, and he stood in front of her, placing his hands on her hips. “Hey,” he murmured. “No parents are perfect. And we’re sure as hell not.”
“If this is supposed to cheer me up, it’s not.”
“I’m not trying to cheer you up. I’m trying to reassure you,” he corrected, squeezing her hips lightly. “We’ll work through this, and we’ll do it together.”
She gazed at him then heaved a sigh and leaned her head on his shoulder. “Thanks Hal.”
“Don’t mention it,” he chuckled, then murmured, “But if we really are going to be parents, should we tie the knot?”
“Absolutely not.”
***
“Hal, for the love of God, will you sit down?” she griped. “You’re starting to make me anxious with all that pacing.”
He sighed, running a hand through his hair before shrugging off his bomber. “I can’t help it,” he retorted. “I hate waiting.”
“Yeah, I’ve noticed.” She rolled her eyes. “Leslie’s working as fast as she can. Just sit down and be patient.”
Hal paced for another minute before collapsing into the seat beside her; she took his hand in hers and rubbed her thumb on the back of his hand. “What are you doing?” he asked, and she hummed.
“Comforting you.”
“Why?”
She looked at him. “Because you’re worried.”
“How are you not?”
“I am,” she commented, and he scowled.
“You don’t look it.”
“Well, that’s because I was trained to retain my emotions a as child,” she retorted. “It helps when I’m dealing with children who are scared.”
“I’m not a child,” Hal hissed, and she snorted.
“Could’ve fooled me.”
“You know what? I’m gonna—”
The door opened and their mouths snapped shut as Leslie walked in with a smile. “Good afternoon.”
“Hey Leslie,” she greeted, then glanced at the papers in her hand. “So? What’s the verdict?”
Leslie handed her the file and she looked it over. “Case of irregular period, dear.”
She blinked and said dumbly, “I’m not pregnant?”
“No,” she said, shaking her head. “Our bodies act up sometimes, even when we’re grown. Irregularities can still happen even now.” Clearing her throat, Leslie added, “But your blood and urinalysis came back negative. You’re not pregnant.” She looked between Hal and her. “With the results, you’re free to leave.”
She stood to her feet, but when Hal didn’t, she tugged his hand. “Hal,” she whispered. “Come on.”
He staggered to his feet. “Yeah, I’m coming.” He disappeared out of the clinic room, and she sighed, then looked at Leslie.
“Thanks doc.”
“Of course.”
***
They were quiet on the park bench, watching the sun reflect off the water and listening to the birds singing in the sky. “So…I guess that’s a relief,” Hal stated, and she nodded.
“Yeah. I guess it is.” Laughing, she said, “I mean could you imagine if I were actually carrying your kid?” when he didn’t laugh, she looked over at him. “Hal?”
He blinked, shaking himself out of his thoughts. “Yeah, couldn’t imagine it.”
“Hal,” she plead. “Are you upset that I’m not?”
“What? No. No, I’m relieved you’re not pregnant, but…” he sighed and shrugged. “I dunno at the same time as scared as I was, I was happy, you know? Ready to step up and be there for you.”
She lowered her gaze to his hands and reached over, placing hers over his and he took it, squeezing. “Well, look at it this way. This was the universe telling you that you’re ready to be a father and this was the universe telling me that I’m not ready to be a mom or your baby’s mother.”
Hal gazed at her for a moment then chuckled. “Yeah, I guess it is.” He squeezed her hand again and climbed to his feet, flashing green as his suit appeared. “Now that everything’s sorted out, I should be getting back to Coast City.”
“Sounds good,” she agreed, standing to her feet.
“Can I drop you off anywhere?”
“Nah, I’m gonna walk around for a bit,” she said.
Hal took to the sky then looked down at her. “If you ever find yourself ready…call me?”
A shocked laugh bubbled in her chest, and she shook her head. “Not a chance in hell, Jordan.”
“Come on, don’t you think it would be fun to have the old Bat call me his son in law?”
Giggling, she waved him off. “Get out of here, Hal.”
Winking, he replied, “See you later, babe.”
She couldn’t help but chuckle and watch him leave, then she shook her head. “Ridiculous.” But a small smile was still on her lips as she headed down the street.
***Alternate Ending***
She gazed numbly out at the water, not sure if she should feel surprise or shock, but whatever emotion she was feeling had completely dumbfounded her. She was pregnant. Her hands had unconsciously pressed tight to her stomach, and she felt sick more than anything. Sick, scared, ashamed, every emotion that came with sleeping with a coworker—and every TV show and movie where the woman got pregnant from the affair.
How was she going to explain this to her family? To her friends? How was she going to face their scrutiny? Pregnant out of wedlock? With the biggest skirt-chasing, arrogant asshole in the galaxy? She’d take the brunt of their scathing opinions. He’d get off scot-free. He’d—
“(Y/N).” Someone’s hand rested on her shoulder, and she blinked, suddenly brought from her stupor and she looked over at him; his gaze was full of worry. “Are you okay?”
Instantly, she felt angry, and she jerked away from him, standing to her feet. “Am I okay!” she shouted. “You got me pregnant! Do you have any idea what this is going to do to us! To our reputations! To mine!”
Irritation etched across his face, and he stood to his feet, getting in her face. “It takes two to tango, (Y/N). We both did this—not just me.”
Her mouth opened to retort sharply, but damned if he didn’t have a point and she shut her mouth, tasting something bitter as she looked away. “I’m going home.”
She turned and his hand shot out, grabbing hold of her arm. “Wait, I don’t want you going alone.”
“Let go of me.” She hissed, trying to pull away, but he tightened his grip.
“No. It’s too dangerous for you to be out alone.”
(Y/N) scoffed. “I think you’re forgetting who you’re talking to Jordan. I’m—”
“The mother of my child.” Hal declared and she gaped at him. “I know what you and your family think of me. I know you think I’m an arrogant asshole and yeah, I’ll admit that I am.” He pulled her to him and wrapped his arm around her waist. “But if you think for a second, I’m going to let you wander around this bat-shit crazy city alone while pregnant, then you’re the one who’s being arrogant.”
He searched her gaze. “I’m many things, (Y/N). But I’m not going to abandon you or shy away from whatever this is.”
She swallowed thickly. “What do you mean ‘whatever this is’? Parents?”
“Us.” Hal said. “Maybe it’s just my big head, but I see the way you look at me. Yeah, I annoy the hell out of you, but you care for me.” He reached up, cupping her cheek. “And I care about you too. More than just what teammates should for one another.”
(Y/N) didn’t know what to say, because he did have a point. Hal was an annoying prick who at many times provoked her into physical confrontation, but on the other hand, there was nothing she loved more than fighting with him, because she knew he found it just as amusing.
Her gaze lowered and she felt tears well in her eyes. “I’m scared, Hal.”
“I know. I am too,” he murmured. “But we’re going to get through this.” He tipped her head up, catching her eyes once more. “We will get through this. Together.”
(Y/N)’s lips wobbled, and she tried for a lighthearted comment. “Isn’t fraternization against the rules?”
Hal grinned. “Only in the military.” He winked. “Last time I checked—we’re not in it.”
She laughed, leaning forward, and pressed her forehead to his. “How’s everyone going to react to this?”
He shrugged. “Probably with shock. I mean about me getting a girl pregnant? Not likely. Getting you pregnant? More likely.”
“Shut up.”
“I think we should consider getting married though.”
(Y/N) pulled away and stared at him. “Excuse me?”
Hal looked at her. “(Y/N), we should think about getting married. I mean, we’re gonna have a kid together. Might as well tie the knot while we’re at it.”
She merely blinked and spun, walking off. “Nope. Not happening. I’ll be your baby-mama, but I am not marrying you.”
“Hey! Wait up!”

Prompt: Nessian’s daughter just broke up with her boyfriend
word count: 796
Cassian x Nesta x 2nd gen, modern au
_
Cassian frowned as he stood outside of his eldest daughter's door. His arms were crossed as he hesitated, listening to her quiet sobs coming from the other side.
“Will you go in or just stand outside, dwelling in her misery?”
Cassian looked over his shoulder at the owner of the quiet voice and met the concerned eye of his wife. She was leaning against the wall, her arms crossed as she wore Cassian’s old, oversize sweatshirt. Her hair was up in a ponytail and her face was clean of makeup. Seventeen years after marrying her, and she was even more beautiful now than she was then.
He had no idea how it was even possible.
Seventeen years of marriage, and three daughters later, Cassian considered himself a very lucky - and very overpowered - man. As his daughters began to enter their teens, he felt himself tested around every corner. Tested....that’s exactly how he felt as he stood outside of his sixteen-year-old’s bedroom as she cried over some little prick that never deserved her in the first place.
“I’m afraid I’ll just annoy her and make things worse,” he confessed, quietly. “I seem to do that a lot these days.”
“You’d be surprised,” Nesta said, and kissed his cheek as she passed him and went down the stairs.
After a deep, calming breath, Cassian knocked quietly on the door.
“Go away!”
“Telling me to go away in my own damn house,” he muttered, then sighed. “It’s dad, I just want to make sure you’re alright.”
Silence followed, then the soft click from the lock sounded. When the door didn’t open, Cassian tried the knob and slowly pushed the door open.
Sasha sat on her bed, hugging her pillow with her legs crossed beneath her. Mascara had run down her cheeks, and she didn’t bother to wipe her eyes as Cassian entered the room.
“Hey,” he began, rocking back and forth on his heels. “I thought we could go get some ice cream and see a movie, like we used to.”
Sasha sniffled into her pillow. “No, thanks.”
Cassian pretended like the words didn’t feel like a knife in his gut. “Why not?”
She shrugged. “Don’t feel like it.”
“Well, you can’t just sit in here all afternoon,” Cassian said, with a slight edge to his voice that he just couldn’t help.
That edge made Sasha start to cry, again. “Just leave me alone, dad.”
Cassian let out a breath and turned toward the door, but stopped himself. With a shake of his head, he turned back toward his daughter and sat down beside her.
“I hate to see you hurting,” he said, his voice quieter than he thought it would be. “This ass-.” One look from his daughter had him rethinking his choice of words. “This boy does not deserve your heartache. He doesn’t deserve to have you sitting here, crying over him. You are too smart, and kind, and beautiful to let any boy make you feel the way you’re feeling right now.”
Sasha was quiet for a moment then she wiped at her face. Then, she said, “I can’t help how I feel.”
“I know,” Cassian said, and looked down at her.
His firstborn.
He knew this day would come, knew it when she was young and then when she began to date. He knew that she would have her heart broken by some little asshat that was too dumb to see how amazing she was. And no parenting book had prepared him on how to handle it.
“Unfortunately, I can’t help how you feel, either, even though I wish I could,” he continued. “I wish I could take away every little ounce of pain you’re feeling right now. But, I can’t. I can, however, tell you that I love you. I can also take you out for ice cream, and to see a movie. That new horror movie just came out. You like that creepy kind of shit, just like your mom does.”
Sasha, despite herself, snorted. “You hate scary movies.”
“But I like spending time with you,” he said, without missing a beat. “So, I will grant your wish and leave you alone, but showtime is in an hour, so....let me know.”
When Sasha said nothing, Cassian got up, kissed her on the top of the head, and made his way toward the door.
It wasn’t until he had crossed the threshold and nearly shut the door behind him that he heard, “Dad?”
Cassian stopped, and peered back at his daughter.
“I’ll be down in ten,” she promised.
Cassian’s eyes softened as he nodded and said, “Take your time.”
It wasn’t until the door was shut behind him that he allowed himself to smile and dwell in one of his greatest victories yet.

Okay but imagine a Freaky Friday scenario back when Bruce and Dick were originally on the outs and Dick was with the Titans full time.
Something incredibly plot contrived happens and whammo, eighteen year old Dick wakes up in Bruce’s body with Jason just down the hall....still new to the Manor, filled to the brim with trust issues and other shit Dick can relate to and brings back memories of his early days in the Manor and how hard Bruce worked to make Dick feel comfortable there, thus priming Dick with Nostalgia thoughts and like, I miss THAT guy, where did that version of my dad go and is he still in there....
And additionally, when further contrived plot contrivances conspire with dastardly deeds that force Bruce and Dick to stay in each other’s bodies for like a week or two until they can change back, and like, cosplay as each other because they both have responsibilities that can’t be avoided....like, Dick is forced to temporarily act as Jason’s guardian and like.....there’s character development and personal realizations and building a connection based on common ground and shared experiences even if they aren’t perfectly parallel, much like Bruce built his connection with Dick based on the common ground that was the murder of their parents, and like.....opportunities for all the above are just ripe for the picking.
And meanwhile, Bruce wakes up in Dick’s body and is like.....wut. But being Bruce and having developed eighty million contingency plans even for off the wall hypothetical scenarios, he like, has a plan in case something like this ever happened.....and then he’s smacked in the face with the realization that coming up with an idea on how to deal with a situation you have no actual knowledge of or experience with is not like....a sturdy basis for assuming your approach will be any kind of effective at all. And so Bruce is forced to consult ACTUAL experts with this kind of shit, like Zatanna and Constantine and Dick’s own teammates Raven and Lilith, and grumpily acknowledges that the safest thing for them both is to wait this out and go about each other’s lives as much as possible, like Alfred and Jason and the Titans and the JLA are all in the know, its just....weird.
And Bruce is uncomfortably aware that he’s surrounded by people who know Dick even better than him at this point, and who are not his biggest fans as a result....and then blow-ups have him trying to defend certain choices....only to realize that when faced with people who are not emotionally invested in a connection with him which they’re afraid to lose by pushing too hard....that like heeeeey, maybe certain choices were not as good as he made himself believe at the time. With this budding epiphany then nurtured by his growing awareness that he’s been treating this whole thing as an inconvenience, like its a waste of his time to be with the Titans when there’s REAL work he could be doing - only he just can’t convince himself of that anymore after being shoved into battle alongside them and seeing them in action from WITHIN their group....rather than looking down on them from a self-assumed pedestal of experience and greater wisdom.
Like, they know what they’re doing, they’re not the kids they started out as and hell, they knew what they were doing even THEN, that’s how they GOT to this point in the first place! They were never actively guided or trained as a TEAM by the older generation of heroes, and they’ve always had an entirely different dynamic with each other than they’ve had with their own individual mentors. And by watching them in action close up, seeing how well they gel and recognizing how much of their strategy and approach to things likely came from Dick sharing his own training with them just as they shared theirs with him and gave him insights and skills that even Bruce doesn’t have because it wasn’t Bruce who taught them to him...
Like, seeing how often they instinctively glance towards Dick for direction and the implicit trust in those gazes, as well as being forced to acknowledge how competently they roll with the reminder that it isn’t Dick and they have to coordinate for themselves because Bruce is the odd man out here no matter what face he’s wearing...
It’s like. Hmm. Epiphanies. They are happening.
And then you’ve got Bruce noticing how much they look out for each other - and him/Dick in particular because of how off balance he is at this time- so he additionally gains an understanding and appreciation of how Dick’s just as safe, if not more, with the Titans as he’s ever been at Batman’s side....
And then he gets a firsthand experience with The Chafing that comes from being smothered and overprotected by people who no matter how well-meaning or concerned they are for his - or well, just his body’s maybe, lol - safety, like, they seem to have no regard for him trying to remind them of his own competency and skills and how he can look out for himself. And since refusing to see or acknowledge that is half the basis for the conflicts that get between him building at least some kind of rapport with the Titans while stuck in this situation...well...
Again. There are. Hmm. Parallels perhaps. To his own relationship with his eldest son and their frequent conflicts.
And so opportunities abound for Bruce to be reminded just how skilled and capable - and needed and appreciated - his son is....as well as how Bruce being on the receiving end of various attitudes or views he’s expressed to Dick, like, might help make him abundantly aware of just how badly that’s probably been going over with Dick, like what all that must FEEL like to Dick and how it appears when viewed from his POV, and how all of that has contributed to the growing divide between them....and thus like, this might hopefully inspire him to like...not do that anymore. Ideally.
And then the plot contrivances wear off and they get shazamed back into their normal bodies and any attempt they might have made to pretend that never happened and just get back to normal is promptly slapped down by the others in their lives, who are just like, lol, no. We’re not doing that. This was weird, it happened, it was a whole thing, deal with it.
Forcing them to, y’know, deal with it. Helped along by some of Bruce’s Intimidation Quotient, such as it ever was, having worn off the Titans during his stay among them, so he starts getting bombarded with texts, calls, and speedster drop-ins like hey, didja adopt your son yet, Bats? How about talk to him. Did you do that at least? Did the word sorry come up at all? C’mon, we PRACTICED this.
Whereas Dick’s walk down Memory Lane via his time spent strolling through the halls he grew up in but from the POV of retracing Bruce’s decade old footsteps rather than his own - well, that did a lot to lower the drawbridge on the emotional barriers he’s built up to protect himself from further let-downs when it comes to his relationship with Bruce....helping to make him more amenable and receptive and optimistic about it being worth getting his hopes up one more time that the space between them can still be bridged.
Anyway. Just a random scenario I guess. Barely thought about it at all.

10 years later….
“Every year,” Nesta began, shaking her head as they drove up the long, winding driveway. “Every year, we are the last people here.”
With a roll of his eyes as he put the truck in park, Cassian got out and shut the driver’s side door behind him. Once again, he had the boat, which the others, who had surely arrived hours before, were most likely waiting for.
They needed a getaway.
As of the month before, Cassian had three times the responsibilities at work. Add two teenage boys and a ten year old that thought she was far older than she was, Cassian was exhausted. He knew Nesta was, too, and when she got out of the car to leave the boys to their bickering, Cassian knew she was feeling that exhaustion, deep.
She looked over at him and he gave her a smile, which she immediately returned before opening up the back door and giving her first order of the vacation. “Thorn. John. Bags inside. Now.”
John groaned as Thorn muttered, “I’m eighteen, I shouldn’t even be here.”
Cassian knew Nesta was biting her tongue as she told Scarlett to follow her around back to find Nesta and Elain.
Cassian shot Thorn and John a look that shut them both up as he heard, “Boys giving you a hard time?”
He looked over his shoulder to find his oldest niece, and smiled. “Hey, Lunabug. Where the hell are the rest of your pants?”
Luna looked down at her cutoff shorts before snorting and giving her uncle a hug. “First of all, watch your mouth. Second of all, these were eighty bucks, so be nice.”
Cassian hesitated. “Eighty… Your dad let you spend eighty bucks on a scrap of denim?”
“It’s good to see you, too, Uncle Cass,” Luna said, ignoring the question altogether.
As he unloaded the rest of the bags and hopped back in the truck to pull it around back, Nesta found Feyre and Elain just where she expected to: tanning on the back deck.
“Nice of you to finally show up,” Feyre crooned, raising her sunglasses to look up at her older sister.
The glare Nesta gave to Feyre told her if her daughter wasn’t feet behind her, she’d be giving her a very vulgar gesture.
“Hi, Scarlett,” Elain smiled, ignoring the silent bickering between her sisters. “You ready for a fun weekend?”
“Yes ma’am,” she replied, her manners nearly as impeccable as Luna’s. “Where is Layla?”
“In the bonus room with the twins,” Feyre said, letting her sunglasses drop back into place as she laid down on her chair. “They brought a bunch of makeup, so I’m pretty sure it’s makeover time.”
Scarlett’s eyes were bright as she smiled up at her mother and hurried into the house.
“Where are the boys?” Nesta asked, stealing Feyre’s drink and downing half of it in one large drink.
Feyre snatched it back, with a muttered, “Bitch,” as Elain shook her head and pointed to the dark haired brood on the docks.
“They’ve been swimming while they waited on Uncle Cass to show up with the boat.”
“Not only do I have Thorn and John to deal with, I’ve also got Little Miss Drama Queen herself to get ready and in the truck,” Nesta said, eyeing Feyre’s drink again. “Plus Cassian. But I gave up on wrangling him years ago.”
Elain shook her head as Feyre snorted. “And Thorn is too much a spitting image of Cass, is that the issue?”
Nesta shook her head, plopping down in a lawn chair opposite of them. “Thorn wants his independence, but he also wants me to cook his food, do his laundry, and clean up after him. That’s Thorn’s issue. And John wants to do everything his cool, adult big brother does. Which annoys Thorn.”
“He’s eighteen now,” Elain said, sighing. “Our husbands were no different at that age. Wanting to be men, but too immature to handle themselves.”
“They’re still too immature to handle themselves,” Feyre mumbled, which made them all laugh.
Her sisters - they were exactly what Nesta needed.
They watched as Cassian drove down to the dock and lowered the boat into the water. Bennett and Lannan were there, swimming, and the eldest helped Cassian guide the boat in and tie it up. Lannan helped, too, but being only ten, his judgement wasn’t the most trustworthy.
The sliding door was pushed open and Azriel wandered out, the top of his hair combed back, and sporting a hot pink lipgloss, which he was attempting to wipe off with a tissue. “Shit, this stuff stains.”
Elain arched a brow as she caught sight of her husband. “I kind of like it.”
He narrowed his eyes at her, but there was no denying the small smile that appeared on his lips.
“It’s a good look,” Feyre agreed, to which Azriel rolled his eyes.
“It’s better than the alternative,” he sighed. “They wanted to recreate a look they saw on YouTube, but were devastated when they realized the signal wasn't strong enough to play a full video in HD.”
“What a travesty,” Elain gasped, faking her horror.
“Thorn is going to hate that,” Nesta snickered. “He may not be able to FaceTime his girlfriend.”
“He’ll live,” Cassian announced, jogging up the porch. “Spending three days focused on his family is good. The kid needs it.”
“The kid needs a kick in the ass,” Nesta muttered, and motioned for Cassian to come closer. He did so, climbing onto her chair and nestling himself between her legs. “But I love him, like I love you.”
Cassian hummed and kissed her, softly.
“My god, what do your kids think when you do this at home?” Feyre asked.
“They’re used to it by now, I’m sure,” Azriel mumbled.
“Absolutely,” Cassian mumbled, before kissing his wife, again.
“Party’s here!” Rhysand came around the corner of the house, carrying two cases of beer. He repeated the same thing his wife had said, looking at Cassian and Nesta. “It’s about time you joined us.”
“Blame the kids,” Nesta said, her arms wrapping around Cassian’s broad shoulders.
“Speaking of the kids, tell them to get ready,” Rhysand said, dropping the cases of beer on the porch. “As soon as these are in the fridge, we’re starting up the boat.”
“I don’t want to go on the boat.”
They all spun around to find Thorn, his phone in the air as he tried to find signal. “Can I have the keys to the truck?”
Cassian scoffed. “Hell, no.”
“I have to run into town,” Thorne said, stubbornly.
“You can tell Marion that you’ll call her when you can,” Nesta said, calmly.
“This isn’t about Marion,” Thorn argued - a complete lie, and they all knew it. “We don’t have anything to drink. We just have water, juice boxes, and alcohol. And, unless you want me to break into the beer-.”
“Try and see what happens,” Cassian warned.
Thorn rolled his eyes, and even though he was the spitting image of Cassian, the look was so much like Nesta that Cassian couldn’t help but chuckle.
“I’ll take Luna and Bennett. They’re trustworthy,” Thorn pushed.
Cassian looked at Azriel and Rhysand, who shrugged.
“Fine. Be back in an hour,” he said, and dug the keys out of his pocket before tossing them to his oldest son.
“Thanks,” he mumbled, and went back inside.
“You know we have drinks in the cooler in the garage, right,” Feyre asked, rolling her eyes as Rhys got a warm beer out of the case and popped it open.
“I figured,” Nesta said. “But Thorn would do nothing but complain the whole time on the boat and would, in fact, break into the beer if we left him here. Might as well let him go have a little freedom before dinner.”
“And if he takes Ben and Luna, he’ll be less likely to get into trouble,” Cassian added, even as Rhys and Az gave each other disbelieving looks.
“Luna, yes, but Bennett is as likely to get him into trouble as he is to get him out,” Rhys admitted.
Feyre finished off her drink and said to her sisters, “Why did we procreate with these idiots? It made our kids idiots.” She stood and said, “I need a refill.”
Elain stood and grabbed her empty glass as well. “Speak for yourself, my kids are all honors students and make good choices.”
Cassian groaned as Nesta rolled her eyes. “Yes, your prized children are the exception to our hooligans. Now, I’m going to put on a swimsuit and tell the girls to do the same.”
Cassian watched her as she left.
He, Azriel, and Rhysand threw beer into the cooler as they heard Thorn, Bennett, and Luna speed away in Cassian’s truck.
“They’re going to do something stupid,” Rhysand mumbled.
“Don’t drag Luna into this,” Azriel countered, carrying the cooler down the hill to the boat.
“She’s already been dragged, bud,” Cassian said, clapping a hand on Azriel’s shoulder. “Now we just pray that they return in one piece.”
*
“Where are they?” Elain sighed. “We’re not even going to get on the water before the sun goes down.”
“They were finishing their makeovers,” Feyre said, sipping from a glass of wine by the island. “Lily said they’ll be down soon.”
“Aunt Feyre,” Layla’s little voice called from the top of the stairs. “Can you come here for a minute?”
As one, the sisters looked at each other.
“This can’t be good,” Feyre sighed, taking another drink from her wine glass and heading for the stairs.
Nesta and Elain followed, and they could all hear the frantic, panicked words before they even topped the stairs.
“It wasn’t supposed to look like that! You should have followed the tutorial.”
“I can’t. I couldn’t watch the TikTok to make sure I was doing it right.”
“What happened?” Feyre said, pushing the door open and freezing.
Layla and Scarlett were sitting on the couch against the far wall, caked makeup on both of their faces, but the twins were sitting at the desk, a mirror in front of them. A long strand of Lily’s hair laid on the desk in front of them, and she had a pair of safety scissors in her hands.
“Don’t be mad,” Lily said, locking eyes with Feyre in the mirror.
Crossing her arms and leaning on the door frame, Feyre smirked. “Why would I be mad, it’s not my hair that got chopped.”
True enough, Lily’s hair looked far differently than it had the last time her mother had seen her. A fourth of her head looked like it had received a very dreadful bowl cut, while the rest of her hair remained the same, hanging halfway down her back.
She stared in the mirror in horror as Olive tried her best to style her twin. “I mean, it’s not so…bad.”
“I’m going to start freshman year looking like…” Lily’s hands slowly covered her mouth as she stifled a quiet sob.
“It’s not so bad,” Olive repeated, a little more convincingly. “It just needs…some product…”
“It looks like I took a knife to my bangs!”
“Bangs?” Nesta repeated. “Is that what you were going for?”
“Yeah,” Scarlett said, answering her mother in favor of her cousin. “They told her to on Tik Tok.”
“Oh, Lily,” Elain breathed, trying to hide her quiet laughter.
“This is a disaster!” Lily said, covering her entire face.
Feyre sighed and stepped up behind her daughter, resting her hands on her shoulders. “We’ll go see Aunt Mor and get it fixed when we get home. There’s still some time before school starts for it to grow in, and I’m sure Aunt Mor can work her magic. Okay?”
Lily sniffled and nodded.
“Come on, girls,” Nesta said, holding a hand out for Scarlett and Layla. “Let’s go get ready to go on the boat for a bit before dinner.”
“And you, Lily. We’ll find you a hat to wear,” Feyre said, dropping a kiss to the top of Lily’s head. “You, too, Livy.”
“Olive,” she snapped. “It’s Olive.”
With a heavy sigh, Feyre said, “I’m sorry, you’re right. Olive, my apologies. You girls go get changed and meet us on the dock, please.”
Elain and Nesta headed down the stairs, Feyre on their heels, but they waited until they got onto the back porch before looking at her.
“What was that?” Elain asked, raising an eyebrow as she looked at her.
“That is new,” Feyre sighed. “For whatever reason, we can’t call her anything but Olive. Liv, Livy, she’s not having it. It’s immature.”
“So, if I call her Livy, the name that I’ve called her since birth, she’s going to snap at me?” Nesta asked. “Yeah, I’m not going to call her Olive. It’s weird.”
“Well, it is the name on her birth certificate,” Feyre said, laughing.
Nesta shrugged. “Details.”
Elain agreed that it was weird, and they were still talking about it as Scarlett and Layla ran onto the deck, ready in their swimsuits, then down to the docks where their dads and Lannan were waiting. The twins were close behind, Olive still moody and Lily covering her hair with a hat.
When Rhysand questioned why she was wearing a beanie with a swimsuit on a boat, they all told him to mind his own business.
“Where is Luna?” Lannan asked, looking towards the house, as if his big sister might appear out of nowhere.
“She went with Thorn and Bennett into town. They aren’t coming on the boat, but they’ll be home before dinner,” Elain promised, which earned a pout from Lannan. Even though they were years apart, the two were still extremely close and it warmed Elain’s heart.
After an hour or so on the boat, the sun had begun its slow descent, and they headed back in.
“Everyone go get washed up while we make dinner,” Rhys announced. With a smirk, he added, “No impromptu haircuts.”
Lily’s beanie had fallen off during one of their faster rides and Rhysand tried not to laugh.
He really did.
He did not succeed.
“Dad!” She cried, hurrying up the deck stairs and rushing towards the house. “It’s not funny!”
As soon as she was in the house, he muttered to Azriel, “It’s pretty damn funny.”
Elain went into the house to start the food, but came back out a few minutes later. “The kids aren’t back yet. They were supposed to be back by now.”
“I’ll try calling Bennett,” Rhys said, heading into the house and going to their room. A few minutes later, he joined them in the kitchen. “No answer. Have y’all heard from them?”
“No,” Elain said, shaking her head. She looked at Azriel, concern written on her face. “And it’s not like Luna to go so long without checking in.”
Azriel frowned. “I’m sure they’re fine, Lainy. I’m sure they’re just being teenagers.”
Even he didn’t believe himself.
Cassian swore. “I’m sure Thorn was leading the way. He’s-.”
They could hear a car pulling into the driveway, and all six adults turned their heads toward the sliding door, waiting.
Luna and Bennett appeared a moment later, looking sheepish and refusing to make eye contact with any of them.
“Luna,” Azriel began, starting with the one that was most likely to talk. “Where’ve you been?”
“In town,” she answered, without missing a beat.
Nesta was looking around. “Where’s Thorn?”
Neither of them answered.
Cassian crossed his arms, and repeated, “Where’s Thorn?”
Bennett was rubbing the back of his neck when he muttered, “Jail.”
Everyone froze. It was Nesta who said, “I’m sorry, what?”
“Thorn got arrested,” Luna whispered, staring at her feet.
“He— What do you—?” Nesta was shaking her head, clearly not processing what they were telling her.
“Luna, Ben, follow me,” Rhys said, pointing to the back hallway where the adults’ bedrooms were situated. He looked at Feyre. “Think y’all can start on dinner while we handle this?”
She nodded, but was moving towards Nesta, who looked like she was about to pass out. “Go. We’ve got this under control.”
Cassian looked inclined to disagree, but Rhys walked down the hall, Luna and Bennett a step behind, and he and Azriel followed. They sat down on the end of the bed and faced their fathers and uncle as Rhysand shut the door.
“What happened?”
Luna looked like she was going to be sick under the disapproving gaze of her father. “We got drinks and were hanging out in the park by the Square. There weren’t any kids around so we were just messing around on the swing set. And then Rion got there and—.”
“Marion?” Cassian interrupted. “Thorn’s girlfriend showed up?”
They both nodded and glanced at each other. “I guess she was planning to come up the whole time.”
“The drinks are in the bed of the truck,” Bennett interjected, clearing his throat.
“Ben, in the kindest way, I don’t give a damn about the drinks right now,” Rhys sighed. “What happened that was illegal? Why is Thorn in jail?”
“They went back to the truck,” Luna said, quietly. “We stayed on the playground and we figured we’d just leave when they were done.”
The men silently stared at them.
It was Azriel who awkwardly asked, “And when you say they went back to the truck…?”
“They were having sex,” Bennett replied, bluntly, while Luna’s cheeks were on fire.
“In my truck?” Cassian asked, outraged.
Again, they both nodded. Luna went on. “We noticed it was getting a little late and started heading back that way and when we got closer, we saw the cop putting them in handcuffs.”
“The cop at least let us take the keys, so we could bring the truck back,” Bennett shrugged. “I guess he let Rion off, cause he only put Thorn in the back of the cop car.”
“Are we in trouble?” Luna asked, her wide, hazel eyes filling with tears.
Rhys and Azriel looked at each other and sighed. “No,” Azriel said, at least. “But you should have called us immediately when something went wrong.”
“My phone was dead,” she defended, pulling it out and showing them.
Bennett looked at Rhys. “And you know I never have signal out here.”
Rhys nodded and sighed. “Go get cleaned up for dinner. Don’t tell your brothers and sisters about this. We need to talk to your mothers first.”
They nodded and headed for the door, but Luna looked up at Azriel and wrapped her arms around his waist. “I’m sorry, Dad.”
Taking a deep breath, he hugged her and said, “I know. We’ll get this taken care of.”
She nodded, and followed Bennett out of the room.
Azriel and Rhysand both looked at Cassian, who had his hands on his hips and was staring blankly at a spot on the carpet.
Without another word, he grabbed his truck keys from where Bennett had left them on the bed and was out the door. There were words going about behind him as he went, but no one stopped him. It wasn’t until he was outside unlocking the driver’s side door that someone called his name.
“Cass.” He turned around to find his wife on the porch, holding up a shirt and his wallet. “Forgetting something?”
With a defeated sigh, he slowly walked back up to the porch and pulled his t-shirt over his head. “He got arrested for public indecency, Nesta. Marion came up. He was fucking in the back of my truck-.”
“Don’t act like you and I weren’t doing the same thing at eighteen,” she interrupted, looking up at her husband and his grim, frustrated expression. “Sneaking your girlfriend somewhere, taking advantage of the short time you have together… It wasn’t that long ago it was you and me.”
Cassian crossed his arms. “That’s not the point. How the hell are you so calm right now?”
“Oh, don’t get me wrong.” Nesta scoffed, one brow raised. “I’m gonna kick his ass when he gets home. He’s grounded, which he’ll protest because he’s eighteen, which is gonna make me kick his ass even more. But, for me to do that, you need to go get his ass and bring him to me, which I know you’re not gonna wanna do, because you're stubborn and pissed off.”
Cassian’s jaw locked. He didn’t say she was wrong…because she wasn’t.
“How many times were you arrested when you were his age?” she asked, rubbing her hands up and down his crossed arms.
Cassian didn’t answer.
“We all do stupid stuff,” she continued, then reached up on her tiptoes and kissed him, softly, even though Cassian’s lips hardly moved in return. “Go get him, have a civil conversation, don’t yell…too much. Then bring him home, so I can make him cry with my disappointed stare.”
At that, Cassian cracked the smallest smile, knowing she was absolutely right.
He turned to head for the truck and she hollered, “I’ll save him a plate. I doubt the food is very good in prison.”
Pausing as he opened the truck door, Cassian scoffed, glancing back at his wife. “He’s been in jail for less than three hours. I’m sure he’s fine.”
She was smirking, but he could see the sadness and worry in her eyes. “Bring my baby home safe, please.”
Half an hour later, Cassian was parking the truck in the lot behind the police station of the small town. It was mostly a vacation spot, for people like his family, so they’d never needed a big police force. Crime was low here. The worst sort of thing that happened in this town had: teenagers being stupid teenagers.
After speaking with the woman at the front desk, signing a bunch of paperwork and posting his bail, Cassian was leaning against a wall near the front door, waiting for his eldest son. A sullen looking Thorn appeared a moment later, an officer behind him. After shaking the man’s hand, Cassian and Thorn were out the door and heading for the truck. They hopped in, the engine revved to life, and they were off, heading back towards the cabin and their family that waited for them. And still a single word hadn’t been spoken.
Thorn was the one to break the silence. “Well?”
His tone immediately set Cassian on edge and he had to remind himself that that was because it was often so much like his own and to calm down. But it didn’t stop his hand from tightening on the wheel. He took a deep breath before saying, “Well, what?”
Cassian’s eyes were still on the road, but he could feel Thorn looking at him. “Aren’t you going to yell at me?”
“Do you want me to yell at you?” Cassian asked. “Do you want me to tell you what a dumbass decision you made today, not only jeopardizing your future, but also Marion’s, and you could have gotten your cousins into serious trouble, too?”
“Luna and Ben would’ve been fine,” he grumbled, crossing his arms over his chest and slumping in the seat. “They weren’t even involved—.”
“And Marion?” Cassian interrupted. “I assume since I didn’t get to have a nice chat with her father in the lobby, they let her go, but she could’ve been in big trouble, too, Thorn.”
The truck cab filled with silence and Cassian took another deep, calming breath before he went on. “Do you know what my first arrest was for?”
Thorn looked over at his father, the man on the Velaris Police Force who never did anything wrong. “You’ve been arrested?”
“More times than I’m going to admit,” Cassian said, but glanced at Thorn before settling his eyes back on the road. “And the first time was for public indecency.”
The silence returned. “Were you having sex-.”
“No,” Cassian said, stopping him before he could finish his sentence. “I was at a party, eighteen years old, and I got drunk, then went streaking down the middle of the road. It was a nice neighborhood, too. Scared the shit out of an old woman sitting on her porch, reading a book. There was a police car sitting right around the corner.” Cassian nodded to Thorn. “At least you were arrested with your clothes on.”
For a moment, Thorn said nothing, but then he laughed, quietly. “Sounds stupid.”
“It was stupid,” Cassian agreed. “Almost as stupid as shagging your girlfriend in the back of a truck in broad daylight.” He gestured outside, to the setting sun.
“Shagging?” Thorn repeated.
“You’d prefer me use a different term?” Cassian shot back.
Thorn shook his head. “Look, I get it, alright? But there was no one else around-.”
“Yeah, which is why you didn’t get yourself in deeper shit. If there had been kids around, Thorn—.” Cassian snapped, then took a second to calm himself back down. “If that cop hadn’t driven by the parking lot and seen the truck off, but moving, I’m sure you wouldn’t have gotten caught. You’re right. But, that’s not the point. The point is-.”
“I know, dad,” Thorn said, his tone hardening. “I don’t need the lecture.”
“No?” Cassian asked.
Thorn shook his head.
“You already know what I’m going to say, then?” Cassian pushed.
Thorn nodded.
Cassian snorted. “Then do tell. Please.”
“You already said it!” Thorn said, tossing his hands in the air. “I’m an idiot, alright? I made a dumbass decision because I can’t control myself. I almost got Marion and Ben and Luna in trouble, and I got my ass tossed into the back of a police car, alright? I know what I did wrong, dad. And I’m embarrassed enough, so…just…please. Save the lecture.” Near the end, his anger faded, and all Cassian could hear was defeat.
Cassian cleared his throat. “Why embarrassed?”
Thorn shot his dad an exasperated look. “Seriously? I just got my naked ass dragged off my girlfriend before getting handcuffed and thrown in the back of a cop car, and you want to ask me why I’m embarrassed?”
Cassian looked over the console at Thorn, then back to the road. “Worried she’ll dump you?”
Thorn thought for a second, then shook his head. “No, but it’s just…not how I wanted today to go.”
Cassian nodded, then thought carefully about how he would ask his next question. “When you two… I mean, I assume it’s not the first time you’ve… You’ve been together a while…” He sighed, then bluntly asked, “You’re careful, right?”
“She’s on the pill,” Thorn mumbled, and when Cassian glanced over as he pulled into the driveway and parked the truck, his son’s cheeks were bright red.
He smirked. “So you’re man enough to have sex, but not to talk about it?”
“Not with you,” he muttered, unbuckling his seatbelt and climbing out of the truck.
Cassian followed suit and clapped a hand firmly on his son’s shoulder. “Well, that’s too bad. Cause not only are you about to have to talk to me about it again, but your mother as well.”
Thorn’s eyes went wide and his feet stopped moving. In the moonlight, the color of his eyes weren’t visible and he looked like a mirror image of Cassian at that age. “Mom knows?”
“Oh, yeah,” Cassian replied, getting him moving again. “The only ones that don’t are your brother, sister, and cousins. But the three of us are about to have a conversation and I don’t know if you’ll enjoy it as much as you enjoyed ours.”
Cassian could see a fire going down by the docks and hear the laughter of his family. He knew there would be one person missing from the revelry and found her sitting at the kitchen table with a cup of coffee and two plates of food on opposite sides of the table.
Nesta was rolling the coffee cup between her hands and her steely eyes flicked up to them the second they opened the sliding glass door.
Cassian didn’t say anything, just picked the plates of food up and took them to the microwave, heating them up, one by one.
Thorn lingered by the door, his hands shoved into his pockets. Finally, he started, “Mom, I—.”
Nesta held up a hand to stop him and pointed to the chair closest to her. “Sit.”
She stood and met Cassian in the kitchen, while Thorn did as he was told. She quietly asked him, “You talked?”
Cassian nodded, already diving into the plate of food. “Yeah.”
“You talked or you yelled?” She asked, raising an eyebrow.
With a shrug, Cassian ate another bite of steak. “Both. I’d say it was a productive conversation.”
“So should I be the good cop or the bad cop?” She asked, crossing her arms and leaning against the counter.
“I think he’s probably had enough of cops today,” Cassian said, and Nesta could see he was trying not to smile. “Probably best for you to be his mother instead.”
Pinching the bridge of her nose, Nesta sighed. “You know what I mean, Cass. Do I need to break him down more or should I start picking up the pieces?”
“I’d say a bit of both,” he admitted. “He’s embarrassed, and rightfully so, but I don’t think the ramifications of how bad this could have been have settled in yet.”
She nodded and picked up the second plate. Looking up at her husband, she wrinkled her nose. “Go take a shower after you eat. You smell like the lake.”
Nesta didn’t give him a chance to answer and instead carried the food back out to the dining area and set it down in front of Thorn, before taking her seat again.
“I’m not hungry,” he mumbled, staring at the food in front of him.
“Too bad.” She took a sip of her coffee. “Eat.”
He did as he was told, eating a few bites in silence until Cassian crossed through the living room, headed for their bedroom. “By the way Nes,” he called out. “Marion is on the pill, in case you wondered.”
Thorn dropped the fork he was holding and covered his face. “Dad.”
“Have a good talk!”
Nesta had closed her eyes and was taking deep, controlled breaths. When she opened them again, her blue-grey eyes met Thorn’s identical ones. “I’m too young to be a grandmother.”
Thorn looked away as he said, “I’m not… We’re being careful.”
“It takes more than her being on the pill to be careful,” Nesta said, calmly. “Accidents happen.”
“I really don’t want to talk about this,” Thorn whispered, staring at his plate.
“Then you shouldn’t have gotten arrested for not being able to keep your hands to yourself,” Nesta replied, simply. “Thorn-.”
“I love her,” he replied, finally looking back up at Nesta. “I love her, and when I’m around her, I can’t even…think straight. I know what we did was stupid, mom, but in that moment…” He shook his head. “You can blame it on stupid teen hormones or whatever, but that wasn’t what this is for me.”
Nesta sighed, setting her coffee down and laying a hand over his. “It’s not that you got caught having sex. It’s not even that you were arrested, but that is a part of it. It’s that you lied to us, Thorn. To me, and your father, and your aunts and uncles. You told us going into town had nothing to do with Marion, but in all reality, that was the whole reason you wanted to go. And you roped Bennett and Luna into it, which could have affected them.”
He nodded, not saying anything, just taking the reprimand.
“We’re upset with you because we’re disappointed. This could have ended much worse, and Marion is lucky they let her go.”
Nesta released his hand, but turned her own palm up, holding it out and waiting. Thorn looked at it for a moment, before glancing up at her face, and sighing. He pulled his phone out of his pocket and placed it in her hand. She placed it on the edge of the table and said, “You won’t be getting this back for the rest of the weekend. And when we get home, your father and I will discuss your full punishment.”
“I got thrown in jail,” he mumbled. “Isn’t that punishment enough?”
Her sharp laugh surprised even herself. “Absolutely not. But this weekend isn’t just about us. It’s about your cousins and your aunts and uncles and spending time with them. So finish eating and go join them around the fire.”
“And if they ask where I’ve been?” He asked as she stood and picked his phone up.
Pausing for a moment, she considered telling him to tell them anything but the truth. But they would all find out eventually. “That’s up to you. But keep the sex talk to a minimum. Scar, Lannan and Layla don’t need to hear about that yet.”
Thorn’s jaw locked, but he nodded, once. He stood and cleared his plate, even though anything had hardly been eaten off of it. He stopped before walking out the back door. “Can I at least text Rion to make sure she got home alright?”
“I’ll text her mom,” Nesta replied, simply.
Thorn hesitated. “Saying what?”
“Just making sure she got home safely,” she said, shrugging. “I’ll tell her to let Marion know you're grounded from your phone for the weekend so that she doesn’t worry.”
Thorn nodded, slowly. “And…the other stuff?”
Nesta watched him for a long moment before saying, “Even I think having your ass handed to you by Mr. Salvaterre for being caught with his daughter by the cops is too harsh a punishment. I won’t say a thing.”
All of the breath left Thorn’s body. “Thanks.”
The second Thorn was out the door, Cassian came around the corner, his plate cleaned.
“I should’ve known you were listening,” Nesta said, sipping from her mug as she watched her husband stride to the sink.
As he set his plate inside, he chuckled. “Oh, I wasn’t missing that. And I think you should reconsider. Watching Lorcan kick Thorn’s ass for defiling his daughter may be good for us all.”
Nesta rolled her eyes and looked out the back door, where Thorn was slowly walking down the hill toward the fire. “He means it. I can tell. He loves that girl.”
“You sound like that worries you,” Cassian said, sitting in the chair next to her before pulling her onto his lap.
“I don’t want his heart broken. That’s my baby,” Nesta said, simply.
“Ah, yes,” Cassian muttered, his lips on her shoulder. “Our little felon.”
“Don’t call him that,” she chastised. “He made a mistake. A big, stupid mistake, but I think he understands the consequences of his actions.”
“He better,” he murmured. “They each only get one get out of jail free card.”
Nesta’s quiet laughter shook her body. “I’m fairly sure neither John or Scarlett will need theirs.”
“You’re probably right,” he said, holding her tighter against him. “We can let this go until we get home. Let’s enjoy our time while we’re here, yeah?”
“Exactly.” Nesta turned and kissed him, but when he made a move to deepen the kiss, she put a hand to his chest and pushed him away. “I wasn’t kidding when I said you smelled like a lake. You need a shower.”
Rolling his eyes, he gave her another quick kiss before she stood. “Fine. I’ll go get in the shower. But only if you promise to make me a s’more when I get out.”
“Sounds like a fair trade,” she said, heading for their bedroom, Thorn’s phone in hand.
“I’m surprised he didn’t ask you not to go through his search history,” Cassian called from where he still sat at the table.
“You’re disgusting,” she hollered back.
“I’ve also been an eighteen-year-old boy,” he chuckled.
“Oh, I remember well,” Nesta laughed, turning off her son’s phone and placing it on the top of her dresser.
Thorn would be fine, reckless nature and all. He was his father’s son, after all, and Cassian had turned out pretty damn good, even if he was the cockiest, most reckless young man Nesta had ever had the pleasure of knowing.
Even if said man was sliding out the back door and not following her down the hall to take a shower like he’d said he would.
Exasperated, Nesta went onto the back porch to yell at him, but he was running down the hill, taking off his shirt as he did so. Once he reached the bonfire, he was throwing Thorn over his shoulder and running down the dock, toward the lake.
Nesta had no idea how he could still toss Thorn around like a sack of potatoes. They were nearly the same height, with those same broad shoulders.
She watched as Cassian jumped off the end of the dock, taking Thorn with him beneath the dark water, jeans, shoes, and all.
Nesta laughed quietly as Rhysand, Azriel, Bennett, and John all followed their lead, running down the dock and diving in.
“Nesta!”
Her eyes shifted to the fire, where everyone else sat. Feyre was waving for her to join them. “Come have a drink and help us laugh at these foolish boys!”
Nesta could hear the girls giggling as she walked down the hill to join them. Lannan was sound asleep on the ground in front of the fire, obviously having worn himself out from the day, and Scarlett and Layla weren’t far behind.
Nesta took the lawn chair that either Rhys or Az had vacated between her sisters, and took a deep breath in as she gazed up at the stars. They weren’t as beautiful as the ones she’d come to know and love in Velaris, but they were still a glorious sight.
“Everything okay?” Elain asked, taking Nesta’s hand.
She nodded, eyes still on the stars. “We’ll deal with it when we get home,” she replied, looking down at her sisters. “For now, we want to enjoy this weekend. Enjoy our time with our family.”
Feyre and Elain both smiled at that and Feyre rested her head on Nesta’s shoulder.
Tomorrow would be a new day. The sun would be bright and shining and they’d spend the day how they’d originally planned.
But that didn’t mean it wouldn’t be a day as crazy as today had been.

Choices: “Run Away to You” Part 5
Tumblr media
“If we start this again, I’m not letting you go. Not this time.”
“Then don’t. Don’t let me go.”
Pairing: Min Yoongi x Former Actress!Reader
Word Count: 2.1K
Genre: Angst + FLUFFY FLUFF (it has been quite the buildup but we are HERE, folks!!!)
Series Masterlist: Run Away to You
Premise: You ran away from your acting career one year ago, disappearing from the spotlight without a trace. No one from your past life knew where to find you. On the anniversary of your disappearance, your carefully constructed reality is shattered.
Part 4 // Part 6
---
Music blared in your headphones as you wandered around the unfamiliar apartment. Marianne had already dropped off your duffel bag of supplies for your temporary stay here; it was currently waiting to be unpacked, left in the first random bedroom you could find.
Yoongi had come back to his studio after your talk with Marianne, a member of his team from the label following closely behind him. Because photographers were still swarming outside of your building, the label decided it would be best to put you in an apartment on their premises. While the number of cameras had certainly dwindled since that morning, it was best for you to stay hidden and to keep a low profile.
As Marianne and Yoongi’s staff discussed the details of getting a bag packed on your behalf, Yoongi quietly informed you that the apartment was in the same building as his and the rest of the band’s shared home–the unit the label owned was for staff and security detail who needed to stay close to the members.
You hoped that meant you would have a chance to talk to him again. The two-week time limit that Marianne gave you had already started to tick like a clock in your head.
For now, you were left alone to get settled into your new space with strict instructions to stay offline and only answer the phone for Marianne, Yoongi, or the label. You opened the fridge to grab a bottle of water, singing aloud to one of your favorite songs that had just started playing.
Someone snuck up behind you, but your music was too loud to hear them. You spun around, about to take a sip of water, and flinched, a hand flying to your chest to stop your heart from pounding in surprise at the sight of Yoongi standing in front of you.
“Oh my gosh, Yoongi, you scared the shit out of me,” you exclaimed, pulling the headphones out of your ears. Yoongi laughed, his signature gummy smile making an appearance. You scowled. “Hey, stop laughing at me, you can’t just sneak up on people like that,” you said, feigning annoyance.
“And you can’t just leave your door unlocked,” Yoongi scolded.
“I thought this building was supposed to be secure,” you countered.
“Still, can never be too careful,” Yoongi said, a mischievous look in his eyes, “anyone could have come in here.”
“Well, I guess I should be glad it’s you that broke in, huh?” you said, slightly taken aback by how flirtatious you sounded. Yoongi’s blush indicated his own surprise at the banter. He averted his eyes for a second, clearing his throat.
“I, um, I actually came by to invite you to dinner later. At the apartment.”
“Dinner? With you and the, uh, rest of the boys?” you asked, trying to stay casual. You had spent a decent amount of time with the members when you and Yoongi were dating a year ago. You couldn’t imagine you were their favorite person for leaving Yoongi the way you did.
“I figured since you were staying here for a while, you all might as well…reconnect,” Yoongi said hesitantly. You couldn’t help but be a little reluctant when you answered.
“Sure, I’ll be there.”
---
Yoongi gave you instructions on which apartment to go to at 8:00 p.m. tonight and then left your apartment for a rehearsal. You had plenty of time to run this night over again in your head, wondering if you were going to be an unwelcome guest. You and Yoongi might have been a secret from the rest of the world, but you were never able to hide from the boys. They had been just as much a part of your life as Yoongi. You had left them, too.
Before you could knock, the door swung open.
“Noona!” Jungkook exclaimed, grabbing you and spinning you around in a hug.
“Hey, Kook, I missed you.”
“We missed you too, especially hyung. I’m glad you’re back,” Jungkook told you with a bunny smile. His hair was dyed purple at the moment, the long length slightly curling at the ends to frame his face. “Come on, we’re all in the kitchen,” Jungkook said, leading you through their large apartment.
“Hey, Y/N, good to see you,” Taehyung said from his spot on the couch in the living room. Jimin waved at you enthusiastically, his eyes going back to the game the two were playing on the TV. You sighed happily, feeling more comfortable with their warm responses to your presence.
You made it to the kitchen, seeing Jin stir something on the stove in front of him. You gave him a shy smile.
“Hi, Jin.”
“Hey, Y/N, glad you could make it,” Jin said, wiping his hands on a towel by the sink before coming around to give you a quick hug.
“Me too.” Jungkook started poking at whatever was on the stove with a spoon, and Jin immediately started fussing at him to stop ruining his culinary creation.
“Y/N?” you heard a deep voice from behind you. Namjoon was looking at you, his hands casually in his pockets, his dimples indenting his cheeks from his smile as you met his eyes.
“Hey there,” you said, giving him a small wave. He let out a loud laugh at your timidness.
“Come here already,” he said, wrapping you snugly into his embrace. You looked over his shoulder, seeing Hoseok leaning against the doorway to the kitchen, his arms crossed against his chest intimidatingly, brows furrowed. You gulped.
Namjoon must have felt you tense in his arms, letting you go with a confused look on his face. He followed your gaze to where Hoseok was standing, and put a reassuring hand on your shoulder, murmuring to you that you should probably go talk to him.
You took a tentative step forward.
“Hello, Hoseok,” you said, the name foreign on your lips. Your friendship with Hoseok had always been full of laughter and sunshine; there was hardly a time you used his full name rather than an affectionate nickname.
“Y/N,” he acknowledged with a nod. Ah, so he was going to be the one who gave you “the talk.”
“Maybe we should go…catch up?” you suggested, glancing behind you at the flurry of movement in the kitchen. Namjoon, Jin, and Jungkook were desperately trying to look like they weren’t paying attention to the tense energy radiating between you and Hoseok right now. You wondered briefly where Yoongi was, not having seen him in the apartment yet, but you figured it was best to get this part of the evening out of the way first before you saw him.
Hoseok didn’t say anything, so you took it as an invitation to follow him when he turned on his heel and walked toward a room down the hallway. You closed the door softly behind you, waiting for the harsh words to come out of his mouth.
“I apologize for putting you in this situation. I know this is awkward, to say the least,” you admitted. “I’m sure you aren’t thrilled that I’m here. The past couple of days were a bit of a shock to me, too.” Hoseok took a deep breath, a frown gracing his normally happy features.
“I certainly never expected to see you again, especially when Yoongi came back upset because he talked to you.” You grimaced at the thought of how sad and angry Yoongi must have been to warrant this reaction from his best friend and bandmate. If he was in a similar state to you after your conversation about your past, you knew it had been bad. “The last time he was that upset, it was because you weren’t returning his calls because you dropped off the face of the earth. He said you didn’t even tell him where you went. I stayed up with him at night a lot, you know. Back then. I’ve never seen him like that. I certainly don’t ever want to see him like that again. Do you understand what I’m saying?”
You looked down at the ground, your eyes burning.
“Yes,” you breathed. You were so quiet, you wondered if he had heard you at all.
“If you make the choice to come back into his life–into our lives–you have to promise me, you’ll never leave him like that again,” Hoseok said, his voice the most serious you had ever heard it.
“I can’t walk away again, Hoseok. It would hurt me too much,” you made eye contact with Hoseok, his jaw clenched with emotion. “If he wants me to stay, I’ll stay. If he wants me to go, I promise you won’t have to see me or think about me ever again.”
Hoseok visibly deflated in front of you at your confession, his jaw unclenching.
“In that case, welcome back, Y/N.” You almost started crying in relief at his words. You knew that you weren’t going to just go back to how things were with any of the boys right away, but this was a start.
“Thank you, Hobi,” you said, voice cracking with relief. He seemed to relax at the familiar name.
“Now come on, Yoongi won’t be happy that I stole you away,” Hobi said, heading back to the kitchen. The boy in question was sitting on a kitchen stool, looking grumpy.
“Hey, hyung, were you looking for someone?” Hobi said teasingly. Yoongi’s head snapped toward his voice, his face lighting when he saw you.
“You came.”
“You invited me, didn’t you?” you said, walking closer to him, brushing your hand gently against his where it rested on his knee. His fingers instinctively trapped yours.
“Are you two going to sit there and make lovey eyes at each other all night, or can we eat?” Jin teased.
You squeezed Yoongi’s fingers, grateful for how easy it was for the eldest member to break the tension in any situation.
You felt right at home.
---
Your sides hurt from laughing so much at dinner. You had watched and tried to keep up with the boys’ antics, smile never leaving your face, your knee brushing against Yoongi’s more times than you could count.
Yoongi gallantly walked you back to your own apartment door in the building after you hugged all of the members goodbye, thanking them for dinner. Hobi held you for an extra second longer than the rest, seeming to want to move on from the tense conversation the two of you had earlier. Not that you could blame him for being protective of his best friend and brother.
You and Yoongi stood in front of the open apartment door, and you were trying to figure out how to say goodnight to him. It was late, and the two of you had had an inordinately long day, but you couldn’t find it in yourself to say goodbye to him just yet.
Yoongi beat you to it.
“I’m glad you were able to come to dinner tonight,” Yoongi started. “I know that you’d probably rather be at home instead of having to spend the next couple of nights here though.”
“It’s okay, it’s not so bad,” you caved.
“No?” Yoongi took a step forward, his presence engulfing you. “And why is that?”
He reached up and tucked a loose strand of hair behind your ear. You felt your knees start to buckle before you caught yourself. He leaned into you, his breath fanning out across your lips. Your eyes fluttered at the feeling. He was mere inches away from connecting his lips to yours.
“You,” you whispered. You waited, expecting to feel his lips on yours, but he pulled back at the last second.
“I should warn you, Y/N–if we start this again, I’m not letting you go. Not this time.”
The fear of being featured on the Twitter trending page and having your picture splashed on magazine covers seemed to take over your mind at the implication of his words. You decided to shove them aside, focusing instead on the man who occupied your thoughts for the past year.
“Then don’t,” you finally said. “Don’t let me go.”
His lips connected with yours, hands finding purchase on your hips. You wrapped your arms around his neck, fingers slipping into his soft, dark hair. He walked you backward into the apartment, closing the door behind him. Once you heard the click of the door, you knew you had solidified your choice.
You chose him.

MC and Diavolo accidentally switch bodies for the day
Taking a sip of the drink that Solomon had just prepared for her, MC narrowed her eyes at the white haired sorcerer. A small, cheeky grin appeared on his lips as he watched her eagerly.
Finishing the drink, MC set the glass down on the counter as she began to grow suspicious of Solomon. Although he was usually sly, there was something that seemed so cunning about the expression he had.
“What is it?” She asked quietly as he began to chuckle. “Solomon what did you do?!”
“You know that conversation you and I were having the other day?” He asked casually as he sat back in his chair.
Without any further discussion, MC knew exactly what he was referring to. Widening her eyes, she turned her head to gawp at the empty glass in front of her. “You didn’t!” She gasped in horror.
“MC don’t worry about it! It’s fine - I did nothing different than what we discussed.” He explained with a smile, “You said you wanted to get your revenge on the brothers after they all took that lust potion around you so guess what? I used the last of this body switching one in your drink.”
Although Solomon found it terribly amusing that MC had just drunk a syrup that would switch her body with somebody else, she wasn’t so thrilled. It wasn’t the fact that he’d slipped it into her beverage - it was actually her idea in the first place - it was the fact that she was now going to face the effects of the syrup.
“How does it decide whose body I switch with?” She asked quietly, glancing up at Solomon with a worried expression.
“The last person you touched.” He grinned, “I just can’t wait to see which one you turn into!”
“Solomon!” MC suddenly panicked as she shot out of her seat.
“What is it?” He asked confused, “you’ll only change bodies for a day?”
“That’s not the issue here!” MC waved her hands frantically, “the last person I touched was Diavolo!”
“Oh shit...” Solomon mumbled. “You mean?”
“I’m going to turn into Diavolo!” MC cried before letting out a sharp breath, “and Diavolo is going to turn into me!”
“Fuck...” Solomon breathed, trying to weigh up the options on what they should do.
“We have to go to the palace.” MC shook her head, causing Solomon to look at her as though she was being ridiculous. “We need to tell him!”
Sighing, she marched out of the room before she could even give him a choice. Time was against them as they raced through the house. The affects of the syrup could take place at any second. MC silently prayed that Diavolo didn’t have some important meeting with all of the high nobles.
She seethed to herself as they travelled across the Devildom. ‘This is a disaster!’ MC kept repeating to herself until eventually they made it to the palace.
Barbatos let both of them into the castle, surprised to see the state they were in.
“Barb where’s Diavolo?!” MC asked quickly, “I’ve got to see him right now.”
“He’s in his study?” Barbatos arched an eyebrow, “would you like me to call for him?”
“There’s no time!” MC shook her head, “please just take me to him.”
Following her orders - and given how urgent they seemed - Barbatos began walking through the palace at a fast pace. Solomon chose to hang back as MC followed the Prince’s servant.
The palace had never seemed so big as they continued turning left and right down various hallways until eventually MC was lead to a colossal door.
Knocking gently, Barbatos awaited Diavolo’s call before letting MC in. As she practically fell into the room, the Prince stood up from his seat in surprise.
“MC?” He asked concerned, “whatever is the matter?”
“My Lord I am so sorry.” She panted as she leant over, “Solomon gave me a syrup that would make me switch bodies...”
Talking had never seemed to hard as she tried to regain her breath.
“He didn’t realise that you and I were together earlier.” She continued, “I drank it to get my own back on the brothers but Solomon didn’t know that I hadn’t seen them today.”
Diavolo’s eyes never left MC’s face as she frantically tried to explain what was happening.
“He says I will switch bodies with the last person I touched.” MC finished.
Recollecting their catch up they’d had earlier, Diavolo remembered the hug they shared as MC left. “Me?” He asked with wide eyes.
“I’m so sorry!” She repeated with an anxious expression.
“What you mean to tell me is you drank a syrup that would force you to switch bodies with the last person that you touched? And that person is me?” He asked, trying to understand the situation.
“Yes...” MC answered as her face sunk.
Diavolo showed no emotion for a minute as he paced in front of his desk. Fear grew in MC’s body as she anticipated a scolding from the Prince.
But then, as he perched his firm butt on the edge of his desk, he looked up at MC. “So once this syrup takes effect, I will be you for the day and you me?” He requested clarification.
“Yes, My Lord.” She nodded.
“Well this sounds positively exciting!” He suddenly grinned, catching MC by complete surprise.
“I’m sorry...” she knitted her eyebrows, “you’re not angry?”
“Why would I be angry? I have nothing important scheduled for the rest of the week and therefore do not need to worry about you being me.” He explained, “and with me switching bodies with you I can finally grasp an understanding on what it is like to be a human!”
Diavolo seemed to find this incredibly exciting.
“I must say MC, my life was far more boring before you came along.” He chuckled. “I think you and I could have some fun with this. How long has it been since you drank the syrup?”
“About 25 minutes, My Lord.” MC breathed.
“Excellent.” He smirked, “Five more minutes should do it.” As he glanced at her, he noticed the worry in her eyes. “You seem frightened?” He questioned.
“I’m sorry My Lord, I just didn’t expect you to react so...well?” She spoke unsure. “I came here thinking you’d be furious.”
“While this isn’t quite how I imagined spending my afternoon, that’s not to say I am disappointed because of it.” He chuckled, “now come on, MC. Wipe that worry off your face!”
In all truth, Diavolo was just pleased he was involved in such chaos without being the one who orchestrated it.
“Now...lets not spend the afternoon fretting.” He smirked, “it’s time we had some fun!”
-
What did they get up to?
Now being in Diavolo’s body, MC decides to give Barbatos some super weird orders. “Can you get out and buy me some peaches without the pit?” “My Lord, all peaches have pits?” “Then find some that dont!”
“Barbatos will you carry me to the kitchen please?” “I’m sorry my Lord but I don’t think I will be able to support your weight...” “how rude! Would you speak to your King like that?”
After about ten minutes though, Barbatos guesses exactly what’s happened
“How did you know it was me?!” MC questions, “because Lord Diavolo always uses his fluffy pen to write out shopping lists! You used the dip pen - a rookie mistake.” “Ah.”
MC walks into Diavolo’s chamber and while alone, takes a sneak peak down his shirt, ‘it’s even better than I imagined!’
Meanwhile Diavolo - in MC’s body - remains sat at his desk trying to calm his mind. ‘Well maybe just one feel...’ he thinks to himself before quickly grabbing his newly accustomed breasts
“Oh my!” He grins to himself
FaceTimes Lucifer, “Hey cutie, how are you doing?” “MC?? Why are you at Lord Diavolo’s?” “We’re talking about you.”
MC pulls a prank on Mammon by messaging him, “hey Mammon, Lord Diavolo’s pretty mad at you...” “ha! If he was it’d be Lucifer messaging me. Prove it.” *MC sends a selfie in Diavolo’s body looking pissed off* “o—oh shit what did I do?!”
Diavolo goes to the House of Lamentation and tells all of the brothers that he (MC) is in love with Diavolo so they should all stop pining over her
He also does whatever he can to make Lucifer blush while in the human’s body. He knows she’s the only one capable of making his heart go soft. “Did you know your hair looks sexy pushed back?” “MC, please.”
Back at the castle, MC’s ordering for a new portrait to be painted of her (Diavolo) to hang above the throne. And of course, the pose she chooses is her dabbing
She also sends a selfie to Solomon, “Hello Harry Potter, it’s Lord Diavolo here to tell you u nasty”
Afterwards, she calls Simeon to tell him “It’s Diavolo here - I’m really sorry to tell you this but MC’s my favourite exchange student.”
When it comes to going to the toilet, MC tries incredibly hard not to look down but as soon as she catches a glance of Diavolo Jr she screams “oh my GOD”
She posts an inspiring article on the RAD newspaper with “words we can live by” and its ‘sex drugs and sausage rolls’
While not pranking the brothers, Diavolo’s ‘testing’ what it’s like to be in a human body. *punches wall* ‘interesting...that was painful*
He momentarily forgets he’s MC and has some of Mammon’s spicy noodles before immediately regretting it ‘oh HELL that’s hot!’
Accidentally mentions something to Lucifer that only Diavolo would know and the eldest brother’s like “...how did you know that, MC?”
When Luke gets excited to see MC (or in this case Diavolo), the Prince tells the angel that he (MC) is going to marry Diavolo and Luke runs off screaming “YOU CAN’T MARRY A DEMON!”
If MC gets approached by anyone and they ask any questions, she answers them very ‘seriously’ “My Lord, I hear there are talks of the exchange program being extended. Do you have anything to say on this?” “Yes. Shakira Shakira. No further questions please.”

hey i hope you're doing well!! i was wondering if i could request a oneshot that kinda diverges from canon ? so basically mc is given the chance to go back to the human world (permanently) or stay in devildom w the brothers. so everyone literally expects for them to stay bcs they really "happy" with the brothers + the (un)dateables,, but surprise:: theyre fucking ecstatic to go back to the human world !!!! and they re all like "why mc dont u love us 🥺" and mc just goes full rant about every shitty thing that happened to them in devildom: belphie killing them, brothers treating her as lilith's replacement, dangerous shit 😌😌😌😌 tHIS IS SO LONG N SPECIFIC OMG IM SORRY
Oo. Yes. This is it. I remember always choosing the "Yeah fuck you guys I wanna go home," choices lmao. There's so much I personally would say to them if put in that situation. One would be what the fuck.
This takes place after Belphegor kills you, but before you go home. The undatebles aren't really included because none of them really fit in with the scene I'm painting.
Also! To my followers, I'm thinking of opening a patreon? Idk if anyone would use it or not. It's just that I am trying to make money, and since I can't work consistently, this might be my best shot for now. It's just a thought! I won't do it if you guys think it's stupid. Thanks babes 💞
It was an offer from Diavolo that started all this.
After Belphegor had lashed out you'd taken to staying away from any of the brothers. You'd never totally felt safe around the demons. They are demons after all, but you trusted that someone would always be there to protect you. That was what you were told at least. It worked in many circumstances, but not when you needed it most. Not when you actually died.
You were miserable. Everyone could tell just by the way you acted. A frown was on your face the majority of the time, you were always on guard around any demons, and you spent the majority of your nights at purgatory hall for some reason or another.
It hurt them to see you so terrified of their presence. Any little fight they had now flashed like a warning sign in your mind, alerting you to the danger of meddling in demon affairs. You'd leave, and they'd become discouraged, only realizing how empty everything felt with you gone. They try to make it up to you, try to keep away from their natural tendencies to get a bit rowdy, but nothing works. You're still petrified in their presence.
That's when Diavolo asks you if you want to go home. You're not comfortable here, it's written on your sleeve. It's affecting your mental health, and despite how much it hurts to send someone so perfect away, he does suggest you leave. To get some help, reconnect with yourself, and possibly forget they ever existed.
You agree.
It's heartbreaking when they find out. Belphegor blames himself, and so does everyone else. They see his mistake as the catalyst for all your changes in personality, when really it was just the final nail in the coffin. After being forced to participate in a stressful school schedule, to deal with men constantly busting into the room despite the lock, being expected to cook for the avatar of Gluttony at least once a week, and to have to find new hiding spots for your precious items to avoid loosing them to Mammon, it was a lot. You were always up, ready for some crazy new happening, never resting even when your body was on the verge of collapse. Your body couldn't handle it anymore, and after Belphegor, you knew you'd never sleep again
You don't say goodbye to them.
Lucifer acts like it doesn't bother him, and he'll act this way until the day he ceases to exist. It does though. He considered you a friend, possibly more, but seeing as you willingly left the realm, it's clear that he misjudged the situation. Satan doesn't receive the news any better. He's a lot more angry then Lucifer, but deep down they both know the eldest is just better at hiding his feelings. The house is a wreck without these two micromanaging every aspect, but neither ever pleaded with you to stay.
They blame Belphegor, but they also blame themselves for not showing you how much you meant to them. Satan knows he could have done more. He should have. In all the books in his library, why is there not one explaining how to fix such a situation? Lucifer almost thinks the same, but he knows he does not need books. He should have noticed your little set backs from the beginning, without the help of a book.
Mammon doesn't completely understand what happened. He's confused, not knowing what he did to make you despise him so. Levi tries to explain, sometimes through teary eyes and anxious hand movements, yet it still never really sinks in. Part of him believes he could have possibly shown his affections more. The other remaining side can't stop chastising himself for not knowing.
The third eldest feels abandoned, and he doesn't know why. You're just a normie. Just some human who shouldn't mean anything to him, but you do. He hates it. Leviathan wants nothing more to forget you, but how can he when your ghost still haunts these halls?
The only one who seems to be able to move on is Asmodeus, but that's far from the truth. He's good at faking emotions. Sure, he's never really had to fake being happy, but all the improv disappointment and whiney attitudes have prepared him for this. Asmo looks fine. No one really worries about him. They should.
Beelzebub and Belphegor have been at odds ever since you left. They both blame the youngest, and whilst Belphie doesn't usually care about his sibling's opinions, knowing Beelzebub is so angry with him hurts. He can't fix it either. You're not coming back, and Beelzebub will always be angry with him for doing something so selfish.
And Beelzebub is angry. He moves out of their shared bedroom and into your room. For weeks he refuses to even speak to Belphie, and after that he only acknowledges him in passing. It's heartbreaking to watch, but Beelzebub doesn't care. You're gone.

Forty Five. Part 3
Tumblr media
I really can’t stand him, he’s such a bastard for no reason too. He took them boys knowing I would go to Jamaica and get them; I wouldn’t even go there to begin with. If he came here, I wouldn’t care one fucking bit. He’s so nasty for this, I really can’t believe he did this to me “Rylee please just when you get home you don’t do anything stupid, just go home. Amerie will be there; I am relying on you to not fuck this one up. All you need to do is get off the jet, go to the SUV and go home, nobody at the house too” I pointed, Rylee is looking at me like why am I rushing to Jamaica when I should be going home but they don’t know their dad is an asshole “but like why is this New York trip cut short” I huffed out “because this has come up and I really need to go, kids I will call you. I’m sorry, we will do girls trip again, a proper one. I promise, I am sorry” pressing a kiss to Imani’ forehead “I’ll be back, won’t be long. I promise ok?” Rylee nodded her bread “you’re the eldest here, act it. Call me as soon as you land” turning on my heels “please make sure my kids get into the car after the flight” I said to the flight attendant, I am going to go commercial because they have my jet. Running down the steps “are you sure you don’t want me to come with you?” Rich said “no, I will be ok. The jet will be coming to Jamaica after anyways, I’ll be back. I just need to get my son’s” getting into the SUV, they can drive me around so I can walk into the airport. I rather my daughters have the jet, I didn’t want them to know either. I don’t want them questioning why their dad is being so unhinged about shit, he is literally so undeserving of me and I really going to end up not forgiving him the more he speaks, I can’t stand him. He knew I would come to Jamaica; he knew what he was doing to make me talk to him. I could have just ignored him and then see him when I picked them, he wanted my attention. I am taking Herb’ word for it, he said that the boys are ok and none the wiser and I’m sad that he did this, I really don’t want to speak to Chris like that, he’s just going to be nasty to me and I don’t want to hear it, I can’t stand it but now I will have too, I have no choice in doing it to get my babies back, I could have ignored him actually until I was back in California but he wasn’t going to let me have that, he wants me to react.
Herb gave me a nervous smile as I walked into the villa “where are my kids?” I asked, “you was quick” why is he acting like I wouldn’t come running “yeah, my kids Herb?” I said “erm yeah he took Raihan out” I want to smack him so bad “out!?” I shouted “yeah Junior is here” everything about this is making me angry “he knows, he fucking knows. He’s taken these boys when he didn’t fucking need too!” I barked “but they safe Robyn, don’t make it like he ain’t there for them” waving him off “he doesn’t give a fucking shit about them boys, he did this on purpose, and you know it, where has he taken my youngest!? He knows I’m coming” Herb doesn’t know “fuck!” I shouted “mom!” Junior spat “hey baby, are you ok?” He ran over to me; Taina is behind him “yes!” He hugged me “dad said we are going on holiday, and then said mom will be here and he was right” I groaned out, he knows I wouldn’t just sit at home “what did he say about your brother? Where is he?” He might know “erm that he’s gone to get some food” wrapping my arms around him “ok, good. That is ok” looking at Herb “I’m going to need you to find out where he has gone, I want both of my son’s with me, home” Herb hasn’t even got a clue where he has gone, what he is doing or his mindset. Not saying he would do anything bad to him, but he’s angry at me and is doing it to upset me.
Tumblr media
“One, two, three” Raihan walked up the steps “four” he turned to me “is it four or three?” He asked me “depends if you want to include the top step, what do you think?” I said back to him “four” nodding my head “then it’s four, knock on the door then” he did a little run to the door, I haven’t slept since and I really don’t see myself wanting to sleep, blowing the smoke out from my lips “come in” his faint voice, didn’t even know who it is but it’s Captain, he knows “you don’t need to take it out” he added, opening the door “who is it dad?” Raihan asked “I don’t like it” he can be a little bitch sometimes this child of mine “go in” I said, “you shouldn’t be here Chris” Captain said “then where should I be” Raihan is holding onto my shorts, he is scared clearly “home” letting the door close behind me “well I am here, I came to see you” making my way into the house “sign of trouble and you run, trouble has been brewing at your door for a while Chris” Captain looked at me and he smiled “son, come. Give me a hug” he waved me over, making my way over to him “seems like you don’t want to see me” hugging him “I do, but you knock on my door when trouble arises, I’m hurting for you” moving back from the hug “why you ain’t tell me what I have?” I asked “I cannot tell you about everything Chris, I’ve said that you and Robyn will have trouble. Your mouth being a factor, how is co-parenting going?” He asked, sitting down on the couch “she has the kids and I just you know, be there” placing Raihan on my lap “hey son, you know your dad would have loved you more if you arrived when you should have” he said to Raihan “why would you say that?” I said to him “say what? How is youngest one doing?” I pulled a face confused “you getting dementia now?” I said “he is here” I said “I certainly haven’t got that Chris; I’ve always said your mouth will be the end of your marriage. I’m right, it’s not living. I think it’s living to save face, more to do with shame with Robyn but you need to be there for her for this younger one, she needs to support and love, and light” looking at Raihan “he is Robyn’ fave child so yeah, she will be knocking down doors” Captain turned his head pulling a face “she feels a connection, this one was supposed to be the eldest, your youngest is a girl” he’s on crack “that weed hitting a little different for you” he’s being funny, I thought I was the crazy one here.
Captain coughed and then cleared his throat “she’s here, the mother of your kids” he pointed “I could have told you that” he looked at me “Chris, I need to do a reality check with you, in one hand” he lifted his left hand up “you have Robyn here by the hand, and this hand” he lifted his right “you have this new journey you want to take, you let her go, she lets you go. This journey you needed to take even before Robyn, she stopped this. You are being selfish, equally is she to keep you there because of shame of being divorced” shaking my head “why didn’t you tell me what I have? You never mentioned it, why? All telling my ass” captain laughed “I never said all telling, Chris do you want me to carry you? If I told you that Chris; you have problems, problems that will destroy your marriage, would you listen? No, you wouldn’t like it, Chris I know that the love you have is pure but for the sanity of your kids, both of you. Let it go, it will come back and let it” I clenched my jaw “I already let it go, she couldn’t” I said “and you loved that thought didn’t you, Chris you aren’t in a good place, you are trying to be normal and you don’t feel it, knowing you aren’t the man you thought you was is hard, and Robyn won’t tell your secret, she wouldn’t use that against you with the kids if you stop this, and do it now because it’s escalating. Tit for tat boy, got to stop, you are a good man. You don’t see it, you need to find yourself Chris, you do, and I didn’t ever doubt the love you have, the love is there but a break is needed, your mouth was always going to ruin this marriage, it was on the cards, but I can’t stress enough that you need to be better for the girl, she needs you, they all do” I am staring at him dumbfounded “Imani?” I said, “is that what you named her?” He’s really making me mad; Captain froze “ah” he said “hmmm, she’s not had it yet. Or maybe she got rid of it but if she has then that is because of you, Robyn is pregnant” shaking my head “I mean she looked it; I did say it, she wouldn’t get rid of it” I said “it’s on the table and it will be because of you if so” I swallowed hard “you both aren’t good, you aren’t good and I’m not liking this vibe Chris no” he said, I swallowed hard not liking what he is saying.
Raihan turned into him, placing his thumb in his mouth as he did. Captain is angry with me “Chris, are you proud of yourself?” Captain asked me, and I have to laugh “I am, I think I have done a lot in my life, I am there for the kids” I am there “your eyes tell me different; you said you wanted to move here. What happened to that?” I pointed at Raihan “my kid, Robyn wanted me home, she has been wanting me home and the whole issue is me not wanting that. I just can’t comprehend why I am not right, why can’t I just want to be peace. Why don’t I just want to be happy and grow old with Robyn, I just don’t know. I am just so yeah, I feel defeated within myself, I love Jamaica, I am happy here. I am also happy with Robyn but look at me, I don’t know what I want and I am just so” I dragged out “fucked, I want this, then I don’t want it. I am happy, then I am not happy. I am stable with my moods, then I am not. I am no good, and I don’t want a pity party either, I just don’t know how to handle myself. I love Robyn, I know I love Robyn but I also want to tell her to fuck off because she is full of shit, you know” shaking my head “Robyn doesn’t have the time of the day for me, she is busy. Man, then Robyn being raped by Jay Z, I am saying it out loud right now but she was raped and I am there for her, being there for her but things like that just annoy me, I am so explosive with my fucking moods Captain, and it’s been that. Nothing has changed Captain, you know that because you said it’s always been me that would ruin it, just that I know I am a mental case and I have issues. I have been happier in Jamaica, in London because nobody knows me. It’s just a better vibe, Robyn got raped, I hate that, and I wasn’t there, I am not right Captain. I refuse to love my own son’s and I want too, this is the craziest thing, shit. There isn’t no cure, I am like this for life and I don’t want it” wiping my tears that fell “and you’re still the kindest, most gracious boy I know, you like my own son” I sniffed wiping my face “can I say it to you, like pretend you’re my dad and I am telling you what I have?” I asked him “yes son” licking my top lip “like you know what I have been through, and when I went jail, the fact I got beat up badly, my mind was never the same. I was never the same dad” I sniffled shaking my head “I can’t” I breathed out “you know I love you; I have known you years” taking Raihan off of my lap “I know, I need to go” I have to go.
Maxwell is here, Robyn is here and Herb, who invited Herb “why the fuck you take the boy’s here” Robyn half shouted as Raihan ran to her, Maxwell just give me a disappointed smile “you stopped speaking to me” nodding my head “who invited you here” I pointed at Herb walking by him “you did?” he said “get out” I half shouted and gif moved to the stairs and went up “Chris” Maxwell said, I am over today now “just leave it, it’s fine. It’s ok” Maxwell said, jogging down the steps “Chris, you stopped speaking to me and then sent me one word text. I am here, I came straight away” turning to him “mhmmm yeah” I said, looking at Robyn “and you had an abortion” I pointed at her “she got rid of a baby” Robyn is so angry, I know she is “your goofy ass took the kids, you think I really want another with you” so it’s true “but you good to jump on my dick, is that what you are? Is that what you wanted to do with Matt? You jumped up bitch” Maxwell put his hand up at Robyn and me “oh fuck you Chris” she said back “no, enough! Just stop, Chris. Why did you stop speaking to me and then send me that message, why did you do that? I flew here straight away” he asked me “because he lost his fucking mind” nodding my head “no, you know with borderline personality disorder involves a longstanding pattern of abrupt, moment to moment swings in moods, relationships, behaviour. This is triggered by conflicts in interactions with other people. Ok, Rihanna you know what he has, yeah. So you know that people with borderline personality disorder can experience overly strong emotional responses. Enough! Now Chris, we need to really talk” nodding my head “you make her gone, I don’t want no parts with her. I am done, I don’t want marriage, I don’t want anything. I want to be left alone, without her around. You do it, you tell her to go. She can take the kids, I am done. Over it, she can do what she wants, she is the pill, she makes me bad”  I said to Maxwell “fine, just please. Let’s talk, I will do that for you” I don’t want no parts with Robyn, she isn’t a good person for me. Walking off to go outside “I think it’s best you go” hearing Maxwell say “he stopped speaking to me, I told you that. He stopped” waving them off, they are annoying as shit.

*~*
You had no idea where you were.
Surrounded by nothing but overgrown grass and the odd wooden fence. If you listened carefully in the distance you could hear the traffic of what you thought could be the A34 road and you were pretty sure that the last sign you had seen before your car cut out had been for Congleton.
Rubbing your hands down your fresh face, your spa retreat to Mottram Hall for the hen-do of one of the school Mum’s entering her second marriage, was nothing more than a distant memory. As you sat freezing, in your car, looking out onto the harsh autumn weather of October, you were far from relaxed and rejuvenated.
Worrying your bottom lip with your top teeth, you juggled your phone from palm to palm. You knew you had to call him, you effectively didn’t have any choice. Especially after you’d pulled your way through your glove compartment and you hadn’t come up trumps with your breakdown cover documentation.
Part of you was cursing in that moment at how you’d handed the piece of paper which held all telephone numbers and car insurance policy account numbers over to your son to scribble upon during one particularly long car session, just to keep him quiet. You were actually sure it was now stuck on your fridge with a lovely drawing of what you presumed to be Marvel characters all over it.
The worst of it all was that you knew whatever had happened to your car was bad. You knew simply from the way the car had spluttered and started to grind before almost seizing up and stalling to a halt.
Unlocking your phone, you scrolled through your contacts and landed on his contact card. Clicking on it you saw when the last time you had called him was and recalled the soft FaceTime he’d had with your eldest son, who wanted to tell his Daddy about how he’d been picked for the schools first rugby team, taking him out of reserves and off the bench.
Breathing deeply, you ignored the ache the fond memory began to cause and tapped Harry’s name. The dialling tone that greeted you filled the pit of your stomach with knots as you tried to relax in the leather seat of your Range Rover.
Again, you started to worry your lips at the fifth ring, before the line clicked and you heard his warm voice. You froze at how friendly he sounded, his voice held an edge of laughter to it and you heard shuffling faintly in the background, followed by chatter, before it was shut out.
On the other end of the line, Harry had found himself dodging his way around people in his Mother’s kitchen in Cheshire, before leaving the room and catching your call before it cut off.
“Sorry ‘bout tha’,” he spoke an unnecessary apology, probably because of how long it had taken him to answer, as you remained quiet on the other line.
You blinked harshly at the sound of your name being spoken. “Are you still there?” Harry asked, pulling the phone away from his ear to see that the call was indeed still running.
“Ye- yeah,” you stuttered, partly due to a soft tremble to your lips from being cold.
“Everythin’ alrigh’?” He asked, a concerned edge to his question, as you dropped deeper into your car seat.
Another small amount of silence.
“Not really,” you responded, honestly. “Where are you?”
With a small frown, he answered, “‘M at Mums. ‘S her birthday this weekend, remember?”
Shit. You’d forgotten.
Heavily breathing in response, you said, “It slipped my mind. Sorry.”
There was a chuckle at the end of the line.
“Not like you tha’,” he playfully jostled, causing the pit of your stomach to fall through again. You hated how he always managed to make any conversation between the two of you not seem as if you were in the middle of a prolonged divorce. “Usually got everything colour coordinated on our kitchen calendar.”
And he still did that so smoothly too, spoke about things as if you still did them together. The use of ‘our’ and ‘we’ was second nature and so naturally fell off his tongue in a velvety way that was soothing but left you shivering if caught by your touch in a different way.
As if he could read your mind, before you’d thought it, he said, “Don’t worry. I added everyone’s names to the presents so she thinks they’re from all o’ us.”
“I shouldn’t have called, you’re busy,” you responded without feeling, starting to pull the phone away from your ear and back to thinking about how you could get in touch with your breakdown cover. There had to be a way, surely.
“Hey, no,” he was urgent. “Don’t hang up, ‘s fine. I’ve pulled myself away. ‘S okay- please. Don’t hang up on me, something’s not right ‘ere. ‘S okay to still need me sometimes, y’ know?”
“It’s okay, I can sort it myself-“ you flung your car door open. “Can you just tell me know how to pop the bonnet up on this car, cause it’s been so bloody long since I last had to do it-“
“Pop the bonnet? Why’d you need to do that? Have you broken down somewhere?” His questions were clipped as he asked.
“Don’t get arsey with me-“
“‘M not,” he replied, quickly cutting. He really was. “Are the kids wi’you?”
“‘S alright for me be stranded on the side of the road on my own when it’s about to get dark-“
“Did I say that?” Again, he words were clipped. “Are you trying to wind me up?”
“Why have you not told me how to raise the bonnet?”
He sighed heavily, pinching the bridge of his nose before walking the short distance in his Mother's hallway to lower himself, slowly, down to sit on the stairs.
“Underneath the passenger side there’s a lever,” he paused his softer tone, giving you time to find it. As he spoke you trampled against the grass closest to the passenger side and opened the door. Looking down at a red lever, which had clearly made itself known to you now that it had been brought to your attention.
“Found it?” he asked, hearing you hum.
You shut the passenger door of your car and stared at the slightly popped up bonnet, Harry’s voice filling your ears again. “If you feel underneath the bonnet, between the E and the R there is another little lever. Squeeze that and it’ll release the bonnet-“
“Where’s the little thing to keep it up?”
He breathily chuckled, “‘s on hydraulics so keeps itself up.”
Again, you didn’t respond and he was met with silence. Harry rested his chin against his palm waiting for you to speak, eyes looking towards the dimming light as night began to approach.
“Wha’ can you see?”
“Not a whole lot, it looks fine to me.“
“Darling, just let me come to you.”
“But this is why I pay for breakdown cover,” you snapped.
“Where are you?” He asked, voice deep and to your annoyance laced with concern that he should no longer hold.
You stammered trying to figure out some sort of excuse to bullshit him with, eyes taking in the country lane and the vast greeness around you.
“Last time ‘m askin’,” he harshly cut in. “‘S gonna get dark soon, so jus’ tell me where y’are.”
“Somewhere near Congleton.”
“And wha’s the matter wi’the car?”
You noted his voice on his last question was a bit pinched, probably from focusing on another task like pulling on a pair of trainers to bring him to you. He clearly wasn’t playing along anymore.
“Well, I think I’ve had an oil leak but none of the lights have come on to officially let me know whether I have or haven’t. The only thing is the nasty black marks that are on the driveway at home, but ‘s nothing that couldn't probably be jet washed off-“
As you rambled about cleaning the oil from the drive of the Hampstead home, Harry zoned out beginning to list the things he would probably require to bring with him. He was sure some of it could be found in Robin’s old garage, knowing that boxes of tools were still piled in the far corner.
“Send me your exact location via text.”
“Harry-“ you sighed.
“‘M not askin’, ‘m telling,” he abruptly responded.
***
People say that Googling symptoms is never a good thing, you suppose the same could be said for a car.
Were they symptoms though? You couldn’t quite coherently think of another descriptor for them as they brought up search after search at how you quite possibly could have ruined your car.
You tried not to dwell as the sky around you began to get darker while you sat in the safe passing place on the country lane. It wasn’t like you had much choice but to stick around.
Cold, and dithering slightly, you had taken to throwing your coat over your body like a blanket as simply wearing it wasn’t keeping your entire body warm enough.
Car doors locked and eyes closed, you tried to find some solace in your waiting. You didn’t have much avail, as you were interrupted by the harsh white lighting of LED headlights breaking through the dimming dusk sky.
You frowned, eyes squinting as the light got closer and pulled in behind you. A sense of uncertainty filled your body at the new arrival, along the otherwise desolate road.
A figure of a male jumped out of the car behind you, causing you to still all of your movement in your car seat as you tried to make out any features to you that would make you comfortable in knowing it was Harry.
The blinding lights made it far too difficult to see anything and you were beginning to think that the person behind you had left them on, on purpose. Unless they were those annoying ones that slowly turned themselves off.
Staring out you vaguely were able to make out the figure approaching you and as he got halfway you relaxed.
It was Harry.
He rapped his knuckles gently at your driver's side window and then smiled to himself as he realised how you wouldn’t be able to open it due to your inactive engine.
“Open the door for me,” he spoke, his voice slightly muffled as it came through your car window. He watched as you reached for the door handle inside and pushed the door ajar ever so slightly. “Could you have picked anywhere more hidden away?”
You didn’t respond straight-away, deciding instead to take him in as he stood with his left arm leaning up against the doorframe of your car. His right arm taut as he held the car door open and away from you both, not wanting it to cause any obstruction.
Underneath his khaki parka you could faintly make out a worn Versace tee as it hung open, unzipped. You internally rolled your eyes. What kind of person wore Versace to fix a car and possibly get covered in oil in the process?
As you rested your head back against the seat behind you, you silently enjoyed the way he looked down at you. It was always quite frustrating, even more so now you weren’t together, how magnetising he was.
“Do me a favour?” He broke the silent stare, “Lean over and pull the lever for me? Don’t quite fancy walking around the car and possibly going down a ditch.”
“My parking isn’t that bad!” You chastised, watching the way his lips twitched. “I’m being courteous of other cars on this tiny lane, given them extra room near the passing place-“
“You got miles of space this side of the dotted line,” he spoke cutting in, eyes wide and filled with humour. “Surprised you didn’t drive down the hill bank the other side to be extra courteous.”
“Can pull the lever yourself now, hope you break your ankle-“
“No you don’t-“
“I’d just leave you here, you know? Take the keys out of your pocket and go.“
“Don’t need to resort to petty crime,” his voice was a bit weaker now but still just as cheeky. “Could’ve just asked for ‘em.”
Your eyes moved towards the glinting keys that he held loosely by the key ring after quickly retrieving them from his pocket. Tauntingly wanting you to reach out from them.
“You’re just going to pull them away, if I grab for ‘em.”
“‘M not,” he stressed with a slight laughter. “You’re always so cynical and defensive. Not even thanked me for driving out to come and get you.”
You didn’t respond, instead you gently reached for the keys, feeling him slightly shift them from your grip as he enjoyed the determination on your face.
Fingers filled with want, you still grabbed for them, successfully but having to be halfway out of the seat and door of your car in order to fulfill your achievement.
When your feet met the ground beneath you, you quickly shifted around to pull your coat on properly. As you moved from the doorway, you watched as Harry dropped his chest onto the driver's seat and reached across the width of the car to pull the lever without needing to walk around the car to do so.
Putting a bit of distance between you, so you didn’t fall foul of staring too long at his bum in his blue jeans, you stalled yourself as he pushed his body up to standing and flipped through a book in his hands.
“Harry?”
“Yeah?” He said, flicking through what you now knew to be the car’s manual that he must’ve also grabbed from the glove box while inside the car. When you didn’t reply he tore his eyes away from the pages and over to you.
“You’re a good man.”
The honesty in your voice, knocked him. “‘M not, but ‘m trying t’be.”
The two of you stared at each other in the dimming darkness and you knew your gaze matched his sad one.
Clearing his throat, he threw the manual against the driver’s seat. “Anyway out m’ sight, leave the men to the work an’ all tha’. ‘S got heated seats an’ all, if you’re into tha’ sorta thing.”
***
You felt bad watching him out in the cold and dark, a light hanging from the bonnet the only source around him that you imagined was keeping him going.
Sitting in the passenger seat, you let your eyes roam around the black interior of his car that was incredibly spacious and so suitable for your barrage of children.
Your attention turned to outside again as you saw Harry move around from your car and walk up towards his own. His forearm came up to wipe across his mouth, bringing your attention to his facial hair that seemed to be getting thicker and thicker.
Without needing to be prompted, you pressed the button to lower the driver's side window and watched as he pressed his forearms into the resting place you had created for him now there was no window blocking his way.
“Can you get me one of them shammy cloths from out o’the boot please? Jus’ need to double check the dipstick.”
You nodded as he continued, “Would do it m’self but-“ he paused, opening out his hands and showing how dirty his fingers were to you.
“It’s fine,” you said, leaving the car and joining him. “I feel a bit useless anyway,” you admitted.
Both of you remained silent when he joined you at the back of his car, two sets of eyes easily spotting what you were looking for. You opened the packet of two cloths, a horrible peach colour, and passed him one before swapping places with him.
You moved to stand at the side of the car, watching him drop his head inside the boot to see if there was anything else he needed while he was at the other car.
“Since when did you become one of them?”
“One of who?” He asked, his head popping around the side of his car and out of the boot to look at you.
“Your lights on this car are far too bright.”
He rolled his eyes, remaining quiet as he turned back to the contents of his boot. He wasn’t going to respond to your unnecessary nitpicking.
“It’s really nice inside though. Single about me did well then,” you found yourself saying the comment in a biting fashion, unable to hold your tongue.
“Which one?” He bit right back, a clanging heard from the boot, “I asked you if you wanted a credit, you said no.”
You clammed up. He hadn’t taken what you said as a joke. A bit of light humour, you thought, for the road. It was your own fault. You’d become that sort of annoying person you often could get when you found yourself awkwardly doing nothing with yourself. Your delivery of your joke didn’t help either.
“Think I preferred you when you stayed sat, quiet, in the car,” Harry said, head moving out from the boot again so you could read his expressions. Raised eyebrows and twitching lips.
“Piss off,” you glared at him, slowly turning to walk away.
Now it was Harry’s turn to think you were joking, as he shouted after you. “Really gonna be like that after I turned up to save you. That’s twice now I’ve had t’remind yer.”
“You insisted-“
“I know I did,” he spoke around a chuckle. “Now where’re you off to?”
“‘M walking home-“
“Don’t be so fucking ridiculous,” he shouted after you, a frown jarring through his light features when he moved from the open boot to walk closer to you as you turned back around to face him.
***
He managed to coax you to sit back in the car not much longer after you’d stormed off in a huff. Not without a fight, but this was one he was willing to back down on just to get you to stop storming off.
Looking back on it now, the scene was probably quite funny to some passerby or outsider, or it would’ve been if you weren’t so secluded. A female dressed in the most fetching of clothes - sarcasm noted - arguing in the middle of a street. Like some five year old in need of a nap.
Speaking of naps, your eyes shot open wide at the loud bang of your car bonnet being shut. You hadn’t realised that you’d begun to doze until you were abruptly woken.
Bleary vision was quickly erased with a rub of your eyes, as you moved to face the front and pushed your hair from your face.
You were met with Harry busy fiddling with the wires of his lamp. His face dropped down and hair falling so easily into his eyes. He kept walking rather than look into the car to see if you were still with him. Instead, he dropped everything that was in his hands into the boot and proceeded to annoyingly continue to subconsciously show off by pressing a button to close his boot automatically.
Staying wrapped up in one of your kids car blankets, you curled your legs underneath your body and rested your right cheek against the headrest. You continued to be silent as you started to wake up, eyes blinking slowly as you watched Harry in the dark pull open his car door.
He swung his body into the car with an almighty groan, one that caused you in your sleepy haze to softly smile. He looked shattered as he relaxed in his seat and rested his head backwards.
With eyes closed he sighed heavily, letting you take him in without a care. You’d noticed that at some point since your nap he’d removed his coat and now he sat in just his t-shirt and jeans. Both, of which, now looked like they had seen better days.
His brow had begun to perspire as he entered the warmth of his car, the quick switch from the Baltic (slight over exaggeration) temperatures outside to those more welcoming inside the G-Wagon could do that to you.
“Don’t think it’s fucked completely,” he said to break the silence, wiping his face and sweat with the back of his hand and wrist, to try and ensure his oil covered fingers didn’t leave any other stains on his skin.
You enjoyed the way he used the back of his hand, wrist and forearm to wipe at his now slightly clammy skin. Stupidly it emphasised how defined his upper body had become. “Dipstick wasn’t as dry as I was expecting,” he continued, “Just topped her up and ‘m ‘oping she turns over and sounds as good as new.”
Again, silence. His eyes staring straight ahead of him, yours enjoying his profile. God, he had a fantastic nose. It was definitely something that your daughter had inherited and you wondered if it would be a feature that a loved one in her life would sometimes admire in the next generation.
“Got any baby wipes wi’ you?” He cut his eyes to yours from the corner of his vision, taking in the way you were curled up in the passenger seat wearing the car blanket of your eldest son.
His eyes lingered on your shape for a while, dropping down and enjoying the way you had curled yourself up and presented to him in such a cosy vision. It meant you felt relaxed around him and that was all he ever wanted.
It was a nice contrast to the emotive happenings between the two of you that had almost become commonplace of late. A foreign feeling that was so simple, but so exciting.
Without verbal response you reached from your handbag that was in the footwell to have a look inside at the contents.
“Don’t wanna leave this car, been a bit spoiled over the last hour or so. Could do with an upgrade myself as they’re all getting older and need a bit more room,” you spoke as you rummaged around, movements still slightly sluggish.
You were successful in finding what you needed, the rustling of the plastic packaging jarring to your ears. Quickly pulling at the cover overlay, you swiftly pulled out a couple of wipes with such a mom-like finesse that had you balancing them on top of the now closed packet as you turned to face Harry.
“Don’t even think about making it a clause in the divorce,” he joked, eyes looking up at you from underneath his brow. His eyebrows snapped up in shock as you snatched at his hand and abruptly pulled at the baby wipes you’d retrieved from inside your handbag.
The two of you fell silent as you wiped at his left hand first, watching the black of the oil slowly leave his fingers. Breathing was heavy in the empty space as you didn’t dare raise your gaze higher to look into his eyes, that you knew were watching you.
“It’s so attractive, how much of a Mum you are,” he dared to say what he really thought as his humoured expression fell away. “Cleaning my hands up nicely, like ‘m your child that’s made a mess of m’dinner.”
“Harry,” you sighed his name, fidgeting softly in your seat. He chuckled in such a husky way that you found yourself softening regardless of the way it riled you.
Releasing his left hand, you reached straight for his right. Seeing the way he caught himself and stopped it before it fell against his lap. He smoothly reached for you, brushing your hair behind your shoulders as it began to curtain across the right side of your face.
“Last time m’hands were this dirty, you were licking and sucking ‘em clean.”
You felt your face begin to heat up from his brazenness.
“Are you blushing for me?” He whispered, his left hand moving along your jaw, to tilt your head upwards. He had a hold of your jaw, slightly rougher than before and while your face played ball, your eyes did not. “‘S been ages since you blushed fo’me.”
Again the sound of breathing filled the car, Harry’s gaze all over your features before his other words punctuated the air, “Look a’me.”
As your eyes moved sharply to the right, you looked at the way he’d lolled his head back. His thumb slowly pulled at your bottom lip, watching the way it softly bounced from his touch, before he lifted it to trace faintly over your Cupid’s bow.
“Missed your lips,” he admitted, enjoying the light puffs of breath that bounced against the pad of his thumb. Before you could think, you’d taken his thumb inside your mouth, an appreciative groan leaving his lips.
You felt the way his fingers cupped under your chin, gently stroking at your skin, silently caressing. Teeth nipping playfully against the skin of his thumb as you pulled away.
“How much?” You asked, lips turning to ghost against the inside of his hand.
His eyes lingered as you watched him nudge his chin up slightly, silently asking for you to come to him.
You sucked in a heavy breath as you leaned into him, the dimming ceiling light of the car slowly allowing darkness to swallow you both. A faint smile nudged your lips as your nose fell against his top lip.
He scooped you under his arm - lining you up better - hands trying to hold you as near to him as he could as you leaned over the centre console of the car to be closer to him.
“Enough,” he husked, before adding, “Your nose is cold,” in a passing tone, lips against your temple now. Breathing deeply through your nose you let him pull you even closer, unable to believe that you weren’t close enough. Muffled apologies left your lips, about how your nose was cold.
The soft drag of his lips to yours pulled you under a haze that swept away your apologies and into a tender reacquaintance. His lips were slightly shaking against yours and you weren’t sure if it was to do with the cold that he had found himself in or if it were due to his nervousness.
Regardless he was steady. Knew exactly what he was doing and what he wanted. Pulling kiss after kiss from you in the slowest fashion that you felt yourself beginning to warm up.
“‘S nice to have a little kiss,” he gently spoke against the corner of your mouth. “Missed you treating me to ‘em.”
“I think you just know exactly what to say,” you murmured as you allowed him to continue ghosting his lips over yours. “Know exactly what you're doing.”
“‘F you’re suggesting that I’m trying it on,” he murmured against your lips, “I absolutely fucking am.”
“Would never have guessed,” you looked at him with heavy eyelids, head now nudged back slightly to enable you to see his entire face. He smirked at you, eyes blinking slowly as he willed you to him once more.
His hand was secure around the back of your neck, fingers messily woven through your hair. His other hand gently massaged at the top of your back, over your fetching loungewear that you had chosen to drive home in.
“‘S it working?”
“What do you think?”
Harry’s eyes dropped in a slow blink as he felt the way your hand lowered down his chest and abdomen, which was wavering slightly from his nervous anticipation.
Dropping your head down to his chest, you left a kiss to his pec as you mumbled and felt the button of his jeans giveway to your fingers and thumb. “I am grateful, you know?”
“Yeah?”
The ruffle of your hair against the cotton of his tee filled the car, him recognising it as you nodding.
“Me too,” he assured.
And he was. Grateful.
For the life he’d had with you up until this point.
The family the two of you had created. The one you were so fiercely fighting for. Messily and viciously, all from a good place. The best place.
He licked at his dry lips, leaving his mouth to hang open slightly as he watched you descend down to his semi that was hidden in the confines of his jeans.
“Both of us need warming up,” he mused, his hands sliding from your hair and down your back, slowly and gently to your slightly raised bum from how you had placed yourself over the center console. “In’t that right?”
A dull slap of his hand against your leggings-clad bum had you rocking back as you felt his hands slide under the waistband to massage at your cheek.
Swallowing heavy, Harry tilted back his head and even through his hooded eyes he caught his blissed expression in the rear view mirror, as he felt you take his balls into your mouth and gently suckle.
He rasped your name as he basked in the dirty licks, heavily laden with saliva from your watering mouth before you took him into your throat. Obscene sounds from your actions wove between his heavy breathing and quick pants.
“Fuck me, darling.”
With his hand that was still against your bum, he pulled you closer. Hands desperate to have purchase of something as you gently but messily sucked and licked, desperate to feel the tickle of his pubic hair against the tip of your nose to know you’d successfully taken him all the way down.
His breathing was shaky, a quick hiss leaving his lips as he felt the way your nails dug into his denim clad thighs from his previous movements to try and hold steady. The position wasn’t ideal, but the feeling of your shaking breath against his wet cock as you nosed against his jeans had him smiling.
As you turned your head slightly to look at him from the corner of your vision, you noticed the way he was looking down at you. How powerful he seemed in that moment as you were slightly beneath him.
The thought changed though with the way his hand came up to your face, his thumb against your wet lips for the shortest time before he cradled the back of your head to help pull you back up and avoid any mishaps.
He tugged you forward to crush his mouth to yours with pleased hums as he tasted himself on you. Lips smacking as he pulled kiss after kiss from your mouth, smiling at the eagerness of you both.
His hands joined yours as they pulled at his jeans, his hips lifting in the seat and his arms strong as he pushed the denim and underwear down to sit closer to his knees.
“Mm,” he hummed, as his bare bum cheeks met the heated seat beneath them. “Put the seats on fo’me.”
“Don’t say I don’t ever treat you nicely.”
He huskily chuckled as he brought your lips back to him again. “Nice an’ warm,” he lazily spoke, acknowledging the heated seats. “Jus’ for me.”
And he knew every bit of his words meant the double entendre that you had caught, looking on as you pulled away to sink back into your own seat
Looking over at him, you noticed the lust behind his eyes as he slowly pumped his hand up and down his wet and aching cock when you sunk back into your own seat and watched his head loll against the headrest once more. His nostrils flared as he bit down on his bottom lip and nudged his chin up, getting you silently to come to him once more when he’d seen your movements in removing your own bottoms had ended.
“Wouldn’t do this for anyone else, y’know that?” You said around your messy kiss as you raised your legs and felt his hands guide you to straddle him. Hands splayed across your lower back and the top half of your bum as he secured you to him.
“Should bloody ‘ope not.”
As you sat above him, you could feel him there. Sprung back and wet. Your mouths rested against each other, heavy and open. Eyes moving to and fro over each other’s.
“Been at this too long to start sharing now.”
Your hips moved forward at his words, with the smallest of motions but it was enough to make his cock glide between your lips. His expression was one of immeasurable pleasure regardless of how little the touch.
Deep down you knew you didn’t have time for this sort of behaviour. The kind where you revelled in the nudge of him against your clit, and the way it caused you to gasp lightly while your brow creased and forehead fell against his.
“Take it,” he encouraged as you rolled your hips on him. “Let me in.”
Heavy breathing and shaking hands, you held Harry’s eyes as you reached behind you to take him in your hand.
Wrapping your fingers around his length, you raised yourself, feeling him shuffle down slightly  in his seat to help ensure you didn’t bump your head as you lifted. Fingers gave way when he lined up nicely, slipping only his tip inside of you.
This stretch was one like no other. A burn that you savoured as much as the expression that welcomed you from the desire felt by the only man who had ever made you feel this way. His one hand crawled up your back, to cup around your neck, anchoring you to him.
When you were fully seated shaky exhales bounced against each other’s lips. Every tremble of you above him felt so vividly by Harry. The way your thighs shook from the small confines you found yourself in, to the quiver of your fingers against his neck and jaw.
“You’re so big,” your moan was feeble. Embarrassing in many ways. Especially given the amount of times you’d done this with him.
“Mm,” he agreed. “‘S cause ‘m so hot for you. Got me so hard. Always have.”
“Always will-“
“Always will,” he confirmed.
Your moan was thick as it left your throat, his words enough to get you to roll against him and have you clit drag pleasing against his pelvis.
He groaned, knowing that’s what you were doing too. Having been in this position so many times before. No one had ever had you this way, and you knew no one ever would either. A pleasure this giving was one of familiarity. Aided so deeply by feeling.
When your mouth met his again the only word to describe your kiss was sinful. His tongue waiting to meet yours, flicking so easily and far too filthily for those on the cusp of middle age.
But he still had it.
The gleaming boyish gaze and curling smile. Could charm his way into any heart and into any pair of knickers. But the ones he had chosen time and time again were yours. Regardless of their sexiness at times.
“Yes,” you gasped, pulling away from his mouth and feeling his hands encourage the knocking of your hips against his.
You were close, nowhere to go and not wanting to go anywhere. How you had made it here so quickly, you weren’t sure. Maybe it was the surroundings, how you potentially could get caught. Maybe it was because your partner - husband - just knew you so well.
His eyes didn’t want to leave you as they admired the flushed skin you were beginning to show and the gleaming, plush lips that you were rolling into your mouth to hide your pleasure.
“That’s it, fuck me,” his voice was hushed, quick in its delivery. “‘S wha’ it’s all about,” he hummed, as you rocked your hips over his. Knocking his head back against the headrest once more.
As he looked down his nose at you, he watched as your eyes fell to your navel, taking in each roll of your hips. Your expression dropped with realisation, slightly pained. “What’s wrong?”
Looking up at him, you wish you hadn’t. You wished you’d kept your eyes down to see the ripple of his abdomen each time your body flexed around him. That way it wasn’t doused in emotion, it was just raw pleasure that lived in your mind.
“We shouldn’t be doing this anymore. Needs to be the last time.”
A mix of a breathy laugh and scoff left his lips as he urged you to restart your hips that were starting to stall above him, “Bit late for tha’ now, don’t yer think?”
Falling against him, you hid your face feeling his lips over the shell of your ear and against your hair. His hand gently stroked at your hair, lips moving to your temple and pressing affection kisses that did nothing but make you feel worse.
“Do you want t’stop? Mm?” He asked, feeling your hips so tight against his, but your core so open that he hoped you would say no. Widening his thighs he pressed his feet into the footwell, seeking momentum to meet your hips with his own.
“‘S okay to love me still,” he groused, feeling your chin tremble from his words. “‘S okay to let me love you still. This is okay, us just doing this is okay.”
It wasn’t okay and he knew. He also knew everything he was saying - every single word - was just a way to satiate you.
So, you let them. Swallowed the lump in your throat and inhaled deeply.
His words were cut short as he groaned, “Sit up for me, fuck me properly.”
Sitting yourself up, you felt the way Harry’s hands moved so that the backs of his fingers were smoothing against your lower stomach. Sweaty palm turned, he pressed it gently down your stomach and let his thumb finger your clit.
The softest frown hit your brow, as his thumb slowly rubbed in a downwards motion at your sensitivity. From his actions you felt a warmth pool around both him and you, Harry groaning appreciatively as he felt it too.
“Yeah,” he stressed the word as you gripped at his t-shirt which sat against his stomach. Cotton in handfuls as you scrunched the fabric. “‘S tha’ nice- good?”
You nodded.
“‘S it enough?”
You nodded with more fervour. Eyes holding his as you sucked your bottom lip into your mouth and scratched along his right forearm as he continued to gently swipe at your wet clit.
The abruptness of the rock to your hips showed itself as the warmth within your belly grew. Eyes now hooded, you were unable to stop them from closing as your mouth parted to desperately say, “Don’t stop.”
And you didn’t know who you were talking to; yourself or Harry.
Harry responded with a moan so deep that you clenched down around him, causing his free hand to reach up and squeeze harshly against your hips.
“‘M going to come so hard for you ‘f you keep doing that,” he gritted, breathing shallow as he felt his chest constrict. “Like tha’, just like that.”
His words were low, and like just moments before you weren’t sure if they were for him or you, but they had you moaning his name. Head dropping against his, his hand gripping at the back of your neck.
With one hard roll of your hips, you cried out, forehead against his chin and mouth fallen. His hand squashed between your bodies as you shook and convulsed.
Pliant for him, you were too dazed to move as you felt his arm wrap securely around your back and hold you to him, tight.
A merciless and repeated smack of his hips upwards, which you were sure would have the car rocking, made you aware of him seeking his release. He moaned your name, as he pulled you down to him, his orgasm shooting into you.
His heavy breathing was hot against your sweltering skin when you finally came to, his grunts melding into your neck as your core continued to flutter in the aftermath of your own release.
His hands somewhat selfishly and most definitely greedily moved you against him, both crooning at the sensitive rush that met you before he lifted you to aid himself with slipping out.
Cold air met his sensitivity, as he nuzzled against you. Hand crawling up your back, under your shirt and feeling your damp skin peel away from his own as he moved his hand up and down.
“Want to try out the back wi’me after this,” he hummed, brushing your hair off your face with his other hand. His words were heavy as they pressed into the skin of your cheek while he still tried to catch his breath.
As much as you knew you should, you didn’t even try to stop yourself from nodding.

Cassian knew very little about Nesta Archeron, but he knew one thing for certain: she was hot as hell.
He had sworn he’d never go on another blind date, but Rhysand had begged, over and over again, for him to go out with the eldest sister of his girlfriend. So, to shut his brother up, Cassian agreed.
Reluctantly, but nonetheless.
He took a quick shower where he bathed himself in a new bottle of body wash before stepping out and towel-drying his hair. Considering Nesta was Feyre’s sister, he felt the need to make a good first impression, although he wasn’t sure what a good impression was to Nesta Archeron.
He was hoping he was sufficient enough.
He dressed in his usual attire of jeans and old boots, but decided to wear a button up for once, rather than one of his go-to t-shirts. Still, he pulled on his leather jacket and grabbed his keys before hurrying out the door.
He typed the address Rhys had texted him into his gps, seeing the drive was going to take him nearly twenty minutes longer than he’d anticipated, thanks to an accident on the interstate.
He swore under his breath, throwing his truck into motion. He hurried across town and parked in front of Nesta’s townhouse, fifteen minutes later than he was supposed to. Flipping down his sun visor, Cassian ran a quick hand through his loose hair and was heading up to the front door, knocking twice.
Or he would have, if the door wasn’t pulled open the second his fist made contact with it.
Suddenly, in his jeans and leather jacket, he felt extremely underdressed.
Nesta Archeron wore a beautifully fitted dark blue dress that fell only a couple inches above her knees. She wore heels, and her hair was curled. A silver clutch was gripped tightly in her hand.
She eyed Cassian, from the top of his head to his toes. For once, even though he was half a foot taller than she, even in heels, Cassian felt smaller than shit.
“Hey,” he said, at last, once the silence became unbearably awkward.
“You’re Cassian?” she asked.
“Were you expecting someone else?” he shot back.
Nesta’s lips thinned. “You’re late,” she said, instead.
“At least I came,” he grinned. “Hungry?”
Nesta took a deep breath as she lifted her chin. “I suppose so.”
“Good,” he said, gesturing toward his running truck. “Let’s go. I made reservations.”
She locked her door and followed him down the sidewalk. “Are we going to be late for those, too?”
Cassian elected not to answer her, pausing at the passenger door and opening it for her. He let out a sigh as he rounded the truck to his own seat.
Something told him this was going to be a long night.
He was absolutely right.
Not a single word was said on the way to the restaurant across town, and, by some grace of the Cauldron, they made it on time for their reservations.
They were set at a table by the entrance quickly, and once their server arrived, Nesta ordered a glass of wine, while Cassian stuck with his usual beer.
“So,” Cassian began, clearing his throat as they waited for their drinks to arrive. “What should I know about you, Nesta?”
“That’s it?” she asked, brow raised. “That’s the question you’ll begin with?”
Cassian’s head fell to the side. “What question should I have gone with?”
Nesta took a moment to look around the bustling restaurant. “Well, you’ve yet to tell me how beautiful I look, or ask me how I’m doing tonight.”
Cassian couldn’t help but chuckle. “Fine. You look nice. How are you?”
Nesta snorted. “Well, I waited twenty minutes for my date, thinking he wasn’t coming. Other than that, fine, I guess.”
“You don’t do this often, do you?” Cassian asked. There was nothing accusatory in his tone, just simple curiosity.
“Do what?” Nesta asked, the words nearly clipped.
“Date,” Cassian replied, simply. “Go out with someone for the first time.”
She crossed her arms over her chest. “No. I don’t particularly have a lot of free time to waste.”
Cassian’s eyebrows rose at her choice of words. “You don’t have to be here, you know?”
The server quietly returned to the table, setting their drinks down, before hurrying away, sensing the tension between the two. Nesta’s eyes didn’t leave him the whole time. She picked up her wine glass, taking a long drink, before she asked, “What do you mean?”
“I mean, you clearly would rather be anywhere but here,” Cassian replied, leaning back in his seat. “I’d hate to waste your time.”
She was about to reply when a voice came from their left.
“Cassian?”
He looked over his shoulder to find an old friend - a term that he used very, very loosely.
Tanwyn and he had a very complicated relationship. They were friends - at least, they had been at one time. It had all become very complicated the first time he had invited her into his bed.
And the second time.
And the third.
And every time after that.
He smiled at her, almost hesitantly. “Hey, Tan. What are you doing here?”
“Here with some friends,” she grinned, approaching their table. “And you?”
“Here with…” Cassian’s voice trailed off as he looked across the table. “This is Nesta Archeron. Nesta, this is Tanwyn-.”
“Nice to meet you,” Nesta said, words clipped. “If you’ll excuse us, we’re on a date.”
She blinked, taken aback at Nesta’s cold greeting. “Right… Sorry to interrupt. I’ll see you later, Cass.” She nodded to Nesta. “Nice to meet you.”
She was gone before Cassian could say another word, and he looked at Nesta incredulously.
She raised her glass before putting it to her lips. “So when is the last time you slept with her?”
Cassian was stunned, shaking his head. “She’s a friend, there was no reason to be rude.”
“My question still stands.” Nesta folded her hands on the table, her eyes on Cassian’s.
“How do you even know-? What are you, a psychologist?”
“No, I’m a chef,” she said, glaring at him. “But you show everything on that pretty little face of yours. It was easy to read.”
He closed his eyes, dragging a hand down his face. “We just need to…start over. This is all going wrong.”
Nesta stayed quiet before finally nodding. “Fine.”
The server picked that time to return, the two of them ordering their food, and the awkward first date conversation began again.
“I have to be honest,” Cassian began. “I’m not sure where to even begin.”
“Your name would be fine,” Nesta said, sipping from her glass.
Cassian watched her for a moment to make sure she was serious before saying, “Cassian Nazari. Childhood friend of Rhys’.”
“And your occupation?” she asked, in all seriousness.
“I’m a bartender,” Cassian said.
Nesta stared at him for a moment before asking, “Seriously?”
“Yeah, seriously, and before you make any judgements, bartenders make damn good money,” Cassian said.
“Interesting,” Nesta said, watching him intently.
“Right,” Cassian muttered. “Now, will you give me some insight into you or should I beg?”
Nesta rolled her eyes before saying, “I’m Nesta. And, yes, lie I said, I’m a chef. I’ve got a little restaurant in the Square”
“That sounds…interesting,” he said, repeating her words. “And your Feyre’s sister?”
“I am,” she said, pausing as the server brought out salads and she began to eat hers, without any dressing.
Cassian, on the other hand, nearly drowned his in ranch dressing. He watched as she ate her plain lettuce. “That looks…boring.”
“Salad dressing is fattening. It negates all of the goodness of the salad.” She took another bite, chewing and looking at him, then his salad swimming in ranch. “You look like you take care of yourself, I’m surprised you don’t watch what you eat as well.”
He scoffed. “I work out, but I’m not going to be miserable and eat rabbit food.” He gestured to the bowl in front of her.
She rolled her eyes, but continued to eat her rabbit food.
Silence grew between them but neither of them attempted to break it. It wasn’t until their main courses arrived that Cassian nodded toward the cursive ink on the inside of her wrist.
“You have a tattoo,” he said.
She eyed the ink that swirled around his arms, up beneath his rolled up sleeves. “I have a few,” she confessed.
“What are they?” he asked, starting to cut up his steak.
She took a bite of her salmon, chewing it slowly before deflecting his question with one of her own, “What are yours?”
Cassian glanced down at the swirls and marks of black ink that covered his forearms. “They’re Illyrian tribal marks. They all mean something different, but I would be lying if I told you I knew what every one of them meant.”
Nesta snorted. “Then why have them?”
Cassian met her eyes. “My mother was Illyrian. I grew up in Illyria, with her tribe.”
It seems the answer nearly took her back, but she ended up nodding, curtly. “How is your steak?”
“Too done,” he said, shrugging as he took a bite. “I like my meat red.” Her nose crinkled slightly. He asked, “What?”
Nesta shrugged. “I don’t eat meat.”
He blinked and watched as she took another bite of salmon. “You’re…eating fish.”
An eye roll was her reply. “I don’t eat red meat,” she clarified.
“So you’re a vegetarian?” He asked.
“No, I just don’t like to eat red meat. Chicken, pork, fish,” she gestured to her plate. “I like that. But I just prefer not to eat red meat.”
“Hmm.” It was more of a non-answer than anything, but before she could say anything, a man appeared, standing next to their table. Cassian glanced up at him. “Can we help you?”
He wasn’t looking at him though. He was looking at Nesta, who was pointedly not looking at him.
“What are you doing, Nes?”
She took a drink of her wine, draining the glass. “This doesn’t concern you, Tom.”
“Bullshit,” he spat. “We take a break and less than a month later, you’re on a date?”
She finally looked at him. “We’re not on a break, I broke up with you.”
Cassian cleared his throat. “Is this where all exes gather?” He looked around again to see if he saw Tanwyn, but she was gone.
“Leave,” Nesta said, plainly. “I can’t enjoy my dinner with you standing over me like the controlling bastard you were in our relationship.”
Cassian’s lips nearly fell open.
The woman had balls.
He respected that.
“I hate to break up this little reunion, but this is awkward as hell,” Cassian muttered, popping a spoonful of garlic mashed potatoes into his mouth.
“This doesn’t concern you,” Tomas said, looking to Cassian, using Nesta’s own words.
Cassian chuckled and ran a hand through his hair. “I’ll give you two choices here, Tom. Either I call someone to take your ass away from our table or I make you leave, myself.”
“Tough guy, huh?” Tomas asked, putting a hand on Nesta’s shoulder.
Nesta brushed his hand off the second it made contact with her skin. “This is ridiculous. I’m calling over the server. We’re leaving.”
Cassian was inclined to agree. This date had been a catastrophe so far, but he was hopeful that maybe if she invited him in, he could salvage it.
Tomas seemed to take the hint, looking back to Nesta. “I’ll call you tomorrow. We’ll talk about this entire situation then.”
She flagged down the server, but said to Tomas, “Don’t waste your time or mine.”
He walked away, muttering something under his breath, but the server returned and after a quick explanation from Nesta, she was off to get their check.
“Well, that was awkward,” Cassian said, clearing his throat, taking a drink of his beer, planning to finish it off.
“No more awkward than running into your fuck buddy,” she replied, pulling her lipstick out of her purse to re-apply it.
Cassian managed to swallow the mouthful of beer before he spewed it all over her. He coughed quietly. “You don’t tiptoe around anything, do you?”
Her answer was curt. “No.”
The server returned, standing the check book on the edge of the table, and Cassian elected to let the conversation drop at that. He reached into his back pocket to grab his wallet.
And froze.
It wasn’t there.
He checked every other pocket he had on him.
Nothing.
“Fuck,” he breathed, patting himself down.
Nesta arched a brow. “Issues?”
“I have to run out to the truck,” Cassian said, quietly. “I can’t seem to find my wallet.”
Nesta froze from where she sat behind her half-eaten salmon. “You forgot your wallet?”
“It’s probably in the truck-.”
“I didn’t see it in the truck-.”
“Then the glove box, maybe,” Cassian snapped. “Just, give me a minute.”
“Don’t bother,” Nesta bit, reaching across the table to grab the check.
Cassian got to it first and held it outside of her reach. “I can pay for it. I took you out, I’m paying.”
Nesta scoffed. “Spare me your holier than thou male bravado.”
Cassian stood. “I just need to run out to my truck.”
She was on her feet, snatching the check book from him and looking at the total. Without another word, she reached into purse and laid down a series of bills, before closing it and heading for the door.
Sighing, Cassian followed her, his cheeks heating. Never had he let a woman pay for his dinner, and he’d sure as hell never let her pay for the first date.
He didn’t say a word as he unlocked her door, opening it, and closing it after she’d climbed in. He rounded to his own door, immediately looking around the cab for his wallet. It was nowhere to be seen. He reached across, opening the glovebox, pulling a few things out.
His wallet wasn’t one of them, but Nesta didn’t fail to notice the gold foil wrappers. And how many he had. She scoffed, buckling her seatbelt and looking out the window.
“I’ll pay you back,” he said, after he’d started the truck and had pulled onto the main road.
“No need,” she snapped, staring out the passenger side window. “Dropping me off and leaving me the hell alone will do.”
The words were barely audible. She spoke the words under her breath. And yet, Cassian felt them like a slap in the face.
He was mortified.
He was at a loss for words.
He just wanted to go home.
He also wanted to make a move on Nesta Archeron.
There was something about the head-strong, independent woman that made Cassian swoon.
Not that it stopped the car ride back to her home any less silent and awkward.
“You’re Feyre’s sister,” Cassian said, randomly.
Nesta blinked, looking toward him. “Yeah. Is there something wrong with that?”
“No,” Cassian said quickly. “It’s just that, you’re so…” Different. Cruel. Different. Opposite. Different. Vindictive. Different. “Not the same,” Cassian finished, at last.
“I am my own person,” she snapped, as he stopped in front of her townhouse.
“I know you are, just-.” He sighed, turning to look at her. “This has been a mess from the start. Can I come in? I’d like some time for us to talk, just the two of us. No ex’s, no servers, no interruptions. I just want to get to know you.”
She laughed once.
The sound infuriated him.
“You mean you want to fuck me,” she said, unbuckling her seatbelt. He was, once again, caught off guard by how blunt she was. She pulled open his glovebox and removed the strip of condoms, holding them up. “Forgot your wallet, but made sure you didn’t forget these.”
Cassian slowly looked at her. “That’s not fair.”
“Not fair?” she repeated. “What are you, a child?”
Cassian couldn’t help but laugh out loud. “Are you fucking kidding me? I’ve tried to be the perfect gentleman tonight, alright? Yeah, I forgot my wallet, but-.”
“And we also ran into your fuck buddy, don’t forget about that,” Nesta said, with a vindictive grin. She opened the door, grabbed her purse, and hopped out.
Cassian was close behind her, following her up her walkway. “What the hell is wrong with you?”
Nesta spun around. “What the hell is wrong with me?” she laughed, humorlessly. “What the hell is wrong with you?”
“You’re a pain in the ass, you know that?” Cassian asked, as she approached her front door.
“Yet you’re still following me to my door,” she said, not looking back at him. She unlocked the door, opening it and stepping inside. Turning back to him, she held the door in one hand, the hand holding her purse propped on her hip. “Thank you for a truly unforgettable evening, Cassian, but I don’t think this is going to work out.”
He crossed his arms over his chest, letting his gaze slowly drag from her head to her toes and back up again. He watched as her cheeks heated, anger lighting up her eyes. “Yeah, I think you’re right. You’re too stuck up for your own good. Too bad.”
She groaned before slamming the door in his face, praying she’d never have to see Cassian Nazari again.

protective [arvin russell x reader]
➽ pairing: arvin russell x fem!reader(y/n) ➽ word count: 695 ➽ summary: you help arvin clean up after another fight, and exchange some sweet words. ➽ warnings: explicit language, violence mention ➽ a/n: short and sweet!
Tumblr media
“God bless it, Arvin,” I mumbled. “Are any of those boys still alive?”
Arvin winced away from the washrag on his bloody knuckles. I knew it stung and I felt bad for him, but it was still his own fault. “Yeah, they are,” he said. “I wish I had done more, though.”
I reached beside me for the bottle of alcohol and dipped the tip of the rag into it. Arvin would go to great lengths to protect the ones that he loved, even if it meant hurting himself in the process. Lenora had been being teased at school and I knew that it bothered Arvin; he always talked about doing something about it, but I never thought he actually would. “I’m proud of you,” I said softly.
Arvin sniffed behind his cigarette. “Why?” He asked. “I beat the shit outta some fuckin’ kids.”
“Because you stood up for Lenora,” I explained. “You stood up for your sister, and I guarantee that those boys won’t bother her anymore.”
“What if they do, Y/N?” Arvin asked. His eyes were glassy and I knew that his tears were only moments away from spilling. Arvin never cried in front of anybody, and I moved away in preparation of him standing up and stalking away.
“Then, I guess I’ll have to help you beat them to shit again,” I shrugged. “Lenora’s my little sister too, ya know. Sister-in-law, at least.”
“We ain’t married yet,” Arvin said, pulling his cigarette from his mouth.
“That’s true,” I said. “But I think Lenora’s my sister too. I’m the youngest in my family and I always wanted a little sister, and I got that with her.”
Arvin was quiet and tapped ash onto the ground. He watched it intently as it fell to the dirt, and he mumbled, “Could have a worse older sister, I guess.”
“Rude,” I chuckled. I twisted the cap back onto the bottle and unfolded the stained rag in hopes of it drying, and I watched Arvin stretch his legs out in front of him. He was still next to me in the dirt in front of my house, and it took one look over my shoulder to see my sisters watching us through the curtains. My eldest sister, ten years my senior with a small baby, insisted that Arvin would propose anytime now, but I knew him. Arvin wasn’t the romantic type; the fact that he even wanted to date anybody was a surprise. I expected him to change his mind at a moment’s notice, but he stayed with me. I suspected that he was scared of being lonely like his dad had been after his mother passed away, and that he wanted somebody-- anybody-- there for him.
“Arvie?” I mumbled. “You’re a good brother. I know you’re chewin’ on that, but you don’t need to.”
“Do good brothers beat up their sister’s bullies?” Arvin asked.
“Sure,” I said casually. “If that’s what it takes to protect them. Brothers will do anything to protect their baby sisters.”
“I’d do just about anything to keep my Lenora safe,” Arvin said. “Same goes for you, doll.”
“I love you.”
Arvin looked at me with surprise and maybe panic on his face. We had been going together since we were in junior high and I had told him that I loved him before, but he always acted like each time was the first time. “Glad someone does,” he rasped out.
“Hey, don’t say that,” I said. “Lenora loves you. And your granny and uncle--”
“But they’re forced to love me, you made a choice,” Arvin said. “You’d be better off without me.”
“I just don’t think that’s true, love,” I mumbled. I rested my hand gently on his thigh and thought for a minute, and I said, “C’mon. We have church tomorrow morning.” Arvin groaned, and I rolled my eyes playfully. “Oh, hush. We have a new pastor, maybe he’ll make service bearable.”
“What’s his name again?” Arvin asked. He stood up and brushed dirt off of his pants, and he took my hand and helped me up. “Something stupid.”
“Teagardin,” I replied.
“Yeah, like I said,” Arvin chuckled. “Stupid.”

Masterlist
Tumblr media
Blowing a raspberry with pursed lips, you prepared yourself for the lecture that would happen the minute your foot crossed the front door. The last year had been one of the hardest dealing with the sudden death of your mother and dealing it with as best as you could. Everything was going moderately okay with the band, but you fucked up three days ago. Typically you knew the limits with alcohol but with the anniversary of losing your mom and attending an after-party was a massive mistake.
Especially when the tabloid released unflattering photos of you needed help from your bandmates getting to the car. Unaware until the next morning when the phone rang.
The shrill round of a ringtone blasted into your sleep pulling you into a blistering hangover and groans. The night before was a blur. Hand tapping the table you grasped the phone blinding pressing the screen until you lucked out on the green circle.
“What the hell were you thinking?” The shout flung you upright, “You got drunk? You’re eighteen! We had a deal.”
“Dad.” You groaned rubbing your head. Going entirely still when you felt the covers shift, terrified, you glanced over to see a body in the bed.
Oh my god. Your eyes widened clueing into the stranger in the bed just as naked, and you were on the phone with Dad. You scrambled into the adjoining bathroom to the hotel room.
“Y/N, you said you stopped. Why did you lie?” Ray Molina asked his daughter clenching the bridge of his nose, “Your Tía called me this morning and send a link to a lovely article. My eldest daughter, my responsible daughter, intoxicated, being held up by her friends.”
“I know. It’s just it was Mom-“
“I know what yesterday was. You should have known it was a bad idea to drink. I called Lucy. You’re coming home. That’s final.”
Ray’s voice was solemn as he spoke utterly disappointed in you before it went to shit further. The safety of the bathroom shattering when the door opened and the acoustics of the room amplifying the voice.
“Hey, last night was amazing. If you’re ever in town again, just call me.”
“Y/N Molina.” The words were tense, “You better be home immediately. We will be talking about this.”
The phone hung up, and your head fell to your knees, sinking into the shame brought by your actions. You had naively overlooked the negatives of the lifestyle
The SUV came to a stop outside the home who hadn’t been in for the past year. You typically avoided it by living in the house with your band.
“I want you to take the break to find yourself again. Heal.” Lucy spoke, turning to stare at you, “I took a chance on your band, I went against Andi Parker. Please don’t make me regret doing it. You’ll be staying here and reconnecting with your family.”
You wordlessly nodded to her words before climbing out of the SUV where the driver had put the suitcase. Most of your things were still in your childhood bedroom. You wandered up to the front door at a glacial pace, hoping to avoid what would happen in the house.
“Y/N.” The door was open with your dad standing there with his arms crossed over his chest and an expression he didn’t often have. A look of pure disappointment, “Go to the kitchen.”
A sigh fell from your lips as you nodded your head as you wandered into the homey place your mother had adored cooking in. She loved music and cooking almost as much as she loved her family. In the kitchen, your sister was doing homework. Julie avoided music because of the death of your mother and you fleeing.
“Julie,” Ray spoke, getting the sixteen-year old’s attention, her eyes shuttering as you met her gaze. Julie’s eyebrows came together with a look of heartbreak and left her homework to flee up to her room.
“I’m sorry.” You spoke, looking at the table as Ray sat across from you. You stared at the chip on the edge from when you cut your scalp running after Julie as a kid.
“Lucy agreed that you need to be home. You kept it hidden very well, but until you can get yourself together, you will not be touring. Until I deem it okay, you will fix your relationship with Carlos and Julie. You will volunteer for Julie’s school program, and you will not be allowed at any party.” Ray spoke, “I could make your punishment worse. I also want you to get yourself checked.”
You winced remembering he was well aware of your one night stand after hearing the person’s voice.
“I don’t have any-“
“I don’t care. I don’t know if you’ve been with one person or more, but you need to be checked out.”
Ray left the girl, “Remember why you love music so much. Your mom wouldn’t like who her daughter turned out to be.”
That broke your heart more because he was right. You were exactly how your mother raised you not to be.
Your eyes stayed locked on the black nail polish that matched the nose ring you had gotten a few months back. Hair dyed with streaks was another rebellious choice. You had changed so much from the girl that had gotten a record deal with her band.
Without even realizing your feet left the house to stand in front of the studio, you avoided. What was once a place of love and happiness was tarnished by the loss of the woman who introduced you to music. A place where you learned how to play the piano when your feet couldn’t touch the pedal. Where you had caused callously painstakingly learning guitar.
“Why are you here?” Your back stiffened at Julie’s hostile tone, “Don’t you have some country to be in.”
“No. I messed up.” You spoke roughly playing with the ring on your finger. The necklace in your pocket felt like it was burning.
“Whatever.” Julie scoffed brushing passed to open the doors to the studio. Her hands slammed the doors closed in your own hurt face.
Julie stomped to the piano, ignoring the other people in the room as she slammed the piano open. Her fingers shaking as they came to rest on the white keys, but the tears flowed down her cheeks. It was bittersweet to see you back in the house after months of dodging her calls, and finally, when you come home, it’s because you got into trouble.
“Are you okay?” Reggie asked the Molina girl. Her red eyes meeting the three ghosts in the room, “You were kinda yelling out there.”
Luke was uncomfortable at the tears he saw running down Julie’s cheeks glancing at the closed garage doors. It terrified him when girls cried. He never knew exactly how to comfort them.
“Yeah. Someone I thought I knew is out there.” Julie scoffed, “I don’t think I’m the best to be rehearsing with.”
“Come on, Julie! I’m sorry! You deserve an explanation. I’m a terrible sister.” You called from outside. The band shared a look of surprise as they had absolutely no clue Julie had another sibling.
Julie grunted stomping to the doors with a furious expression, the aggressiveness of opening them startling you. Standing across from Julie was a girl that the three didn’t know and so unlike Julie. You had a ripped band shirt tied in the back to make a form-fitting crop top, high waisted jeans. Hair dyed and a piercing set you so far from Julie.
“You’re playing again?” You smiled, looking at the piano ready to be played, but Julie didn’t react, “Mom would be proud of you.”
“One of us shouldn’t be a disappointment.” Julie snapped.
“Oh, damn!” Reggie exclaimed to the guys, “Julie really went for the throat.”
His words took your full attention to see three guys in very ’90s like clothing intently watching your interaction with your sister. Julie was surprised you could see them but her anger and hurt overpowered that part.
“Look I’m really sorry for how I’ve been acting.” You sighed stepping closer only to stop when Julie stepped back, “I never wanted to hurt you but Jules you shouldn’t have to see how I was acting. I haven’t been a good role model.”
“You still hurt me. I needed you.” Julie’s voice cracked as she wrapped her arms around her, “If they hadn’t come into my life, I wouldn’t have played again.”
“You needed someone who wasn’t doing what I was doing.”
“What were you doing?” Julie softly asked. You hesitated on telling her the truth, but she needed to know why it was best she hadn’t been exposed to your behaviour.
“Will you listen?” You asked the younger girl. She nodded, so you led her to the couch that had come with the place. Julie sat on one end of the sofa while curled your legs under you.
The guys followed right after and honestly, you didn’t care if they heard.
“Last year, when Mom was sick, I wasn’t there. I was there the day she passed, but I was selfish. It was stupid, but I honestly thought she would be okay.” You softly began reopening a wound that hadn’t healed, “I know she was proud and pushed me to continue, but I shouldn’t have. The more time passed, the harder it was to see me.”
“You guys were getting more popular.” Julie shrugged, “I’ve always been proud that you chased your dream.”
“I know. That dream came with negative parts though Jules. To cope, I started drinking, I changed my hair, got a piercing, experimented with some illicit things and I…uh…slept with a few people. I was never meant to sleep around, I commend people that do and love that but it’s not for me.  I tried to change myself because I thought I could change how I felt.”
Julie was silent, scanning your features and the changes she had been blinded from with rage and pain. It felt like part of you was missing, there was an emptiness in your eyes and your shoulders were drooped, and you didn’t have that smile.
“Things really went to shit, pardon my language. It’s another change.” You winced at the word choice, “Mom’s anniversary was on the same night we went to an awards show. I had gotten drunk, but I performed at the show still good.”
“GP won two awards.” Julie grinned, “You were wearing the ring.”
You raised your index finger where a simple ring had sat for years, one that matched the one on Julie’s finger. You may have taken the Virgin Mary necklace off, but you could never take the ring you had with Julie off.
“My faith took a nosedive.” You admitted reaching into your pocket for the Virgin Mary necklace, “I didn’t feel like it was right to wear this and live how I was. Anyway at the after party I got extremely drunk, James and Iris had to help me to the car. Tabloids came out the next morning, and Dad called.”
You winced remembering the nasty hangover and the rather shameful lapse of memory. You still have no clue the exact details with the one nightstand.
“Ooh. Tía sent him a link? She was looking after Carlos. It was a lot of Spanish.” Julie winced remembering the shocking words leaving the older woman’s mouth.
“Oh, it gets worse. Just as the call was about to end…my hookup made their appearance.”
Julie choked, “You slept with someone?!”
“Hollywood life.” You weakly replied, making jazz hands, “So for the next few months I’ll be here.”
Julie was quiet, “Well if it makes you feel better. These guys are Luke, Reggie, and Alex. They’re ghosts.”
You were silent, staring at the younger Molina taking in the news better than she had expected, “I can’t judge after the past year.”
Tumblr media
Helping Julie with her band and spending time with your family was more healing than finding the bottom of a bottle was. You attended a few sessions with Dr Turner and finally rediscovered the love of music. You often fielded questions from the guys too.
“What’s your band’s name?” Luke asked, placing his chin in his hands, listening intently to hearing your stories.
“Graveyard Petals.” You chuckled with a wide grin, “My mom had a band with petals in the title, so I wanted to honour her. Our band was driving to a gig still trying to figure out a name when we went past a cemetery and the name kinda just clicked.”
“That’s so cool!” Reggie spoke with a wide grin, “God, I wish we got the chance.”
“It has its moments.” You shrugged, “I’m actually meeting up with them in a few hours if you wanted to come?”
The guys nodded their heads each sporting a broad grin at the suggestion.
“We’ve all been finding ourselves again. My mom was our mentor, so it hit all of us hard, but I acted out worse.”
Luke’s eyes couldn’t help but notice that your necklace was resting on the hollow your neck just like Julie. A lightness came over him seeing that you had been finding yourselves once more.
“You seem happier,” Alex noted, leaning his elbows on his knees because he was right. In the time you had been home, you had changed your hair back to its natural colour, and your skin wasn’t as sickly pale as before.
“I am.” You smiled glancing at Luke, “I’m thrilled I got to meet you guys. I feel like if that tabloid hasn’t come out, I would have overdosed or drank myself to death.”
You hadn’t touched a drop of alcohol in months now. Music poured out of yourself with such a healing aspect you couldn’t believe it. You dad was ecstatic his little girl had found her way back to her true self.
Reggie and Alex glanced at each other before poofing out to leave Luke there with you. There was something between Luke and you that made the two boys happy. You each deserved happiness.
“So can I see some of your songs?” Luke asked with a soft smile that tugged at your heartstrings. You grabbed the notebook from your guitar case covered in doodles before opening it to a half-written song.
“So this is very raw and special to me.” You spoke glancing up at the teenage boy with a sparkle that hasn’t been seen in over a year, “It’s called Sober.”

The Princess and the Dog
Requested by @the-schuylar-sisters : Hey are you still taking requests if so could you do a Sandor x reader where they are ;) and Cersei (reader’s mother) walks in and goes off? Thanks
The library was the only place you could ever find peace and quiet. Your insufferable younger brother wouldn’t dare step foot into what he referred to as “a dusty, boring wasteland.” Every once in a while, someone might wander in, but you mostly had the place to yourself, aside from whatever guard was assigned to you.
Today’s was a younger man, one you didn’t recognize. He must have been new. He would nervously look over at you every few seconds while you read your book. You couldn’t quite blame him. You wouldn’t want his job. You loved your father, but you had to admit that he was quite overprotective when it came to you. Even if Joffrey was the first born son and his heir, King Robert reserved the softest spot in his heart for you, the first of his true born children to live past the age of infancy. You guessed that his affection for you was the reason your mother spoiled Joffrey so. Your mother claimed to love her children equally, but like your father, you suspected she had chosen her favorite.
Your mother also wasn’t quiet about the fact that your eighteenth name day had come and gone with no betrothal. It wasn’t as if you had no suitors. There were new ones daily, all clamoring over themselves to ask the King for his eldest daughter’s hand in marriage. Not only did your hand come with money, power, and lands, but you were said to be one of the most beautiful girls in the Seven Kingdoms, much like your mother. But your father always said no. Not one was good enough for you.
“She’ll die an old maid if you wait for someone who reaches your standard,” Your mother had said.
“Then she’ll die an old maid,” Your father had said.
Little did either of them know you had plans for yourself, and they didn’t involve dying an old maid. You weren’t about to correct them.
“You may sit down,” You said to the guard, making him jump.
“Princess?” He asked, not quite meeting your eye.
“You’re allowed to sit down,” You clarified, gesturing your hand at the chair across from the table from you. He looked at it as if it might turn and snap at him. You felt bad for him He looked to be younger than you, and he was given the task of guarding the princess on his own. “Go on. No one’s coming in to kill me, you won’t be needed for anything more than decoration for now.”
The guard finally took the seat, looking up at you finally, as if to confirm this is what you wanted of him. You had to resist the urge to give him a pat on the head, he looked so much like a lost puppy.
“What the fuck do you think you’re doing?” The poor boy fell out of the chair in his attempt to stand up.
“The princess told me-,”
“I’m telling you to get on your feet,” The Hound said, roughly grabbing the guard’s arm and pulling him up.
“Don’t be cruel,” You defended. “He was following my orders.”
The Hound didn’t look at you, his angry eyes still boring into the guard. “If you aren’t going to do your job, you can fuck off down to the stables.”
“Yes, sir, I’m sorry,” The guard nearly yipped. The Hound released him, shoving him out the door.
“That was unnecessary, Sandor,” You scolded.
“That’s who they leave you with? They call that protection?” The Hound said, finally turning towards you. “Some cunt who pisses himself at the slightest noise?”
“He’s just a boy,” You said.
“Exactly.”
You stood up, walking around the other side of the table where he stood. You looked up at him with a slight smirk. “You don’t need to take it out on him. You’re just upset my mother assigned you to Joffrey instead of me.”
The Hound bent down, his arms circling your waist and he lifted you off your feet. You laughed, grabbing him around his neck. He kissed you, his lips tasted like the bitter wine he kept on his belt. You knew the taste well, both from sips taken on moonlight walks and from kisses stolen when you were sure you two were alone.
“Takes everything in me not to strangle that little shit in his sleep,” He said into your mouth. “She suspects something.”
“You don’t think she knows about us, do you?” You asked, pulling away slightly. You liked when he held you like this, being just slightly above him. You liked being able to look in his eyes when you spoke. His arms were so strong, you knew he could hold you up for hours and not get tired. Mostly, you just liked being held by him.
“If she had any real proof, your father would have my head mounted on his throne and my balls in a jar,” The Hound assured. “Are you worried, Princess?” The corners of his mouth turned up, making you roll your eyes.
“You don’t need to call me that, no one’s here.”
He kissed the hollow of your throat, then your collarbone, and finally the top of your breast that was nearly spilling out of your bodice. His lips moved against you as he spoke. “You’re the princess, even when no one’s here.”
Nearly a year ago, when you had first kissed him, he had pulled away as if you had burned him, saying almost exactly the same thing. “You’re the princess,” was his reason then. He didn’t know what you wanted him, even now, even though he wanted you. You could easily have any man you wanted. The difference was that now, he wasn’t afraid to touch you.
You kissed the puckered line of scarred flesh on his forehead, your lips touching both the ruined skin and the unburnt. He used to not let you even look at that side when you were together, worried that it disgusted you. It never had. Even when you first met him, it hadn’t bothered you. It was just a part of him.
“My father means to take us all to Winterfell,” You said. His lips stilled on your breast. “He told me this morning. We’re to leave in a fortnight.”
“I’m part of the Kingsguard, I’ll be traveling with you.”
“You’re smarter than that, Sandor,” You said. You tugged on his hair, making him look at your eyes. “All that time traveling with my parents? Someone is bound to notice us.”
“No one notices your mother and uncle,” The Hound said. You rolled your eyes.
“Everyone notices my mother and my uncle,” You corrected. You loved your Uncle Jamie, he was always kind and gentle. But you also weren’t stupid. Just looking at your younger siblings, you knew they weren’t your father’s children. And looking at your mother with her brother, you were sure you knew who their father was. “No one is fool enough to tempt my mother’s wrath.”
“No one wants to face mine either, Princess,” The Hound assured.
“Sandor,” You said. He placed you back onto your feet. You missed his arms immediately.
 “Princess.”
“We should leave,” You said, your voice low even though you knew you were alone in the library. “Like we said we would.”
He stared down at you. You knew what he was thinking. He had asked you to run away with him before. It was something you rarely talked about, it was something to fantasize about. It was always in the abstract. But you knew you didn’t have much time before it was decided that you were too old and needed to be married. It was when your father mentioned Robb Stark and how much he trusted the boy’s father that you worried that you wouldn’t have a choice much longer.
“That’s one way to piss off your Queen Mother,” The Hound said with a laugh.
“My goal in life.”
He let you pull him around so he was against the table. He sat down on the table top, his legs so long that his feet were still grounded on the floor. You stood between his legs, getting close enough to kiss him but not letting your lips touch his. He let out a strangled groan when you palmed his quickly hardening erection through his pants.
“That’s another way to do it,” He said. He threaded one hand through your hair, the other pressed on the small of your back, pulling you closer and kissing you. You squeezed him tighter, sending a rumble through his throat.
“Careful, now, Princess,” He said against your lips.
“Nothing I can’t handle,” You said. You pulled at the ties of his pants, slipping your hand in and grabbing him fully. He grabbed your wrist with warning. “No one is in here. You scared that guard half to death, he won’t be coming back.”
The Hound paused for a long moment before releasing your wrist. You smirked at how easy it was for you to convince him. He played the role of being as hard as stone well, but when it came to you, he cracked so easily. You could get him to do anything you asked.
You pulled his cock out of his pants, exposing him to the empty library. You got onto your knees in front of him, your dress flaring out around you as you lowered yourself onto the ground. He moved his hand into your hair once again as you took his cock into your mouth, making him let out another groan. You could barely fit half of its length, using your hand to stroke the rest as you ran your tongue along the head. He used to never let you use your mouth on him, almost as if he thought it was too depraved to ask of a princess. He had no such problem now as he nearly thrusted into your throat.
You could feel him tense as he usually did before he came, his hands tightening in your hair, but he pulled you away. He nearly shuddered at the loss of contact, but he wasted no time leaning down, pulling you up by the waist. He lifted your skirts, setting you onto his lap, your knees against the table on either side of him. His arm around your waist to hold you in place, he guided you onto his waiting cock. You gasped as he entered you, your hands on his shoulders.
You lifted yourself up, making sure to take your time as you slowly brought him into you again. He squeezed your hips tightly. You smirked, kissing his lips lightly.
“How’s that?” You whispered against his mouth.
“So fucking good,” He mumbled. He slid his hand along your thighs and up to your center. You couldn’t help a moan as his thumb found your clit. He made quick circles as you bucked your hips against him wildly. You both knew he wouldn’t last but he never liked to finish before you. His practiced hand knew exactly how to bring you to your end. “Come for me, princess,” He whispered in your ear just as you came apart, squeezing tightly to him. He held you so you wouldn’t topple backwards as he continued his thrusts.
You didn’t realize you had heard your name until the Hound was pulling out of you roughly. You found your footing, your legs a bit numb from holding yourself on the table, making you feel like a newborn fawn. Your mother’s voice pierced your ear as she grabbed your arm and pulled you away from the Hound.
“What in the Seven Hells do you think you were doing?” Your mother nearly shrieked at you.
“Your Grace,” The Hound started, his voice surprisingly calm and even.
She turned on the Hound, her arms wrapped around you as if you needed protection from him. “This is exactly why I no longer wanted you guarding her. I find you with your cock in my daughter, the King’s daughter. Who do you think you are?”
“Mother,” You said. “It was me, I was the one-,”
Your mother held you at arms length, her grip on you iron clad and bruising. “This is why you refused every proposal I brought to your father? So you could fuck the Dog? I raised you better than this.”
“I love him,” You felt the words in your chest as they came from your mouth. Your eyes flashed to the Hound. He looked as if he had been slapped. You had never said those words aloud, but you had certainly felt them for a long time.
“You know nothing of love,” Your mother said firmly. “And after I tell your father what he’s done, you will know nothing of the Hound.”
“You won’t tell Father.” You pulled out of her grasp. “If you do, I’ll tell him about Uncle Jamie.”
You felt the slap sharp across your cheek. You held your hand to your face, the sting still ringing across your skin. But what surprised you more was seeing the Hound’s large hand clasped around your mother’s wrist, not nearly as gentle as he had just been with you. Your mother looked just as shocked as you. The Hound had been nothing but loyal since he had come to King’s Landing. You supposed he was loyal still, just to you above all else.
“Unhand me,” Your mother said through gritted teeth. The Hound looked at you and you gave him a nod. He released his grip, taking a step back.
“I will, Mother,” You said. “Keep my secret and I’ll keep yours.”
She looked at you a long time, her chest puffed out with self importance. You supposed you were lucky it had been her and not your father who had walked in. At least with your mother you had leverage.
“I don’t doubt you, my love,” She said coldly. She shot the Hound a disgusted glance as she rubbed her wrist. “His bastards will tear you to shreds on their way out.”
