idk if its just me, but ive been seeing a handful of jokes and takes over the months implying how "awful" of a father Feng Xin is...

which was funny at first, but then i think about what actually happened

Jian Lan literally told him 800y ago to get lost and never come back. So he did.

Feng Xin never found out about CuoCuo until when Jian Lan returns in the present timeline. I don't understand how he can be a bad dad when he literally had no way of knowing he even was a dad?

A justification ive seen is how terribly he treated CuoCuo and Jian Lan after the reveal. But thats also confusing. Yes, he has a moment of "WTF" after finding out he has an actual child, but wouldnt anyone? Like its prob been 800 years since he's even had sex with a woman, I can see how world-changing that bit of information can be.

But after that, he always offers to provide for them. Because Feng Xin is a "good" god (and imo, 800y ago he was a good man too). JL and CC are the ones who decline his repeated offers. And then he lets them leave.

I see nothing but the utmost compassion and respect in that man and everything he does. If he had the opportunity to raise a child I think he would not only dedicate a large part of himself to that child and/or family but also want to. He might not be great at it, but he'd learn.

This kind of compassion is also reflected in the way he treats Xie Lian too, being his loyal dog bodyguard and all. He's always trying to protect him. It's ingrained into him so much that we see 800y later the habit still hasnt been broken.

Feng Xin can only feel with his whole heart. So i really do think it would make him at least a halfway decent father given the chance.

"Mac n cheese... dinosaur nuggets...? What are you? A five year old.." Your words were dripping with sarcasm and your smirk could kill, but then it hit you. When had you fully stopped trying to get away?? You could literally leave him in the dust and yet you were drawing the conversation out...

"Are you saying you don't like Mac n Cheese and dinosaur nuggets? Cause we may not be compatible then.."

"..." You bit your bottom lip as he tried to step closer, "I think thats enough chatter for today. I have things to steal and people to see." Your body moved further away on instinct and yet you were starting to feel a bit anxious, knowing you didn't mind talking to him...was freaking you out a little.

"Awe but we haven't even gotten to if you like toast yet! What about a dinner date?? Or movies? Come on...you know you want to talk to me a little longer." He made a pouty face at you, putting the tips of his pointer fingers together like a shy anime girl.

You had to hold back your laughter at how silly he looked, "Maybe another time. Byee fanboy~~" You threw a smoke bomb at the floor and quickly scurried away, leaving him happily counting down the minutes till the next time the two of you would play this game of catch me if you can.

thats still to be determined-- i have yet to really iron that part out. i was thinking the three had JUST returned from their mission when the blood demon art took effect

Alternatively, the three are hit with the blood demon art, and Sanemi and Giyuu's crows go to get help. Since Gyomei is closeby, he is the first to find the three. After reeling over these three tiny babies, he takes them back to the headquarters, where they inevitably face the rest of the Hashira!

what were their reactions...? great question!

Hashira Reactions:

Shinobu: she couldn't help but giggle at their situation, but she quickly looked them over and ensured they were healthy physically. after they found some fitting clothes, she began to endlessly tease the boys-- particularly Giyuu, because, of course, she would tease Giyuu. she kept joking about how cute they were and how they should leave them like that, which was followed by Sanemi trying to throw something at her but failing miserably. Giyuu reluctantly lets her hold him, and then it turns into Giyuu not letting anyone aside from his closest friend, except for Gyomei. Gyomei's wonderful. Rengoku, too.

Tengen: similarly, Tengen cracked up. at first he was more confused and taken aback than anything, but once he knew for certain they were okay, he began joking around alongside Shinobu. he vocally brainstormed what kind of outfits to put them in, resulting in all three babies shrieking/whining at him. he claims Sanemi right off the bat and learns the baby is super ticklish. He spends a good chunk of the interaction tickling the little guy whenever Sanemi gets frustrated or angry. at one point, Sanemi pulled on his hair, so he tickled Sanemi nonstop until the baby could babble strings of reluctant apologies

Gyomei: he's really conflicted due to his backstory revolving young children, but his caregiver instincts take over, and he fawns over them. being the one to find the babies, he's the first to hold and comfort them, so of course, being as paternal as he is, he gets attached. once he took them back to the other Hashira and explained the situation, Shinobu began checking their vitals and what not, and he would continuously pipe up to ask how they were. this was soon followed by him bringing up how they needed to get the babies fed and taken care of-- which, again, had all three in distress/embarrassed

Rengoku: His big brother instincts go CRAZY. Similar to Gyomei, he automatically begins fussing over them and asking a lot of questions to make sure they're alright—though Rengoku asks the babies directly: "Are you okay?" "How old are you?" "Which demon did this to you?" "Are you hungry?" "What kind of food do you guys eat?" "Or are you still nursing?"... that sort of thing!

Muichiro: oh he thinks the situation is hilarious. he's completely monotone and stoic during the first encounter, but the second he's with the three babies, he's teasing them. he talks to the babies as normal and will just calmly ask, "Do you need a nap?" and says things like, "You're fussing an awful lot. Maybe you need a bottle."

he's basically a little shit. however, he does ease up later when he realizes Obanai, in particular, is having a really hard time, and his soft spot for him becomes evident. Obanai always looked out for him, so he wants to look out for Obanai! he becomes his main target in the teasing but is also obviously Muichiro's favorite. Muichiro will ruthlessly tease Sanemi, though. he thinks its funny

Mitsuri: she was in TEARS the second she saw the babies, and Tengen had to hold her back from rushing over and scooping them up. she thinks they're adorable and is already scheming with Tengen on how to dress them up, and what to buy them, and what not! once she was given the okay, she darted over and fussed over the three like they were actual babies-- only to be mortified when she was informed they all maintained their memories. she was flustered for a while, but once Obanai began to get really distressed, she jumped back into action. she would end up cradling him and kissing his little head until he calmed down, and of course, everyone just gave them knowing stares. Obanai was very embarrassed. Mitsuri interpreted this as Obanai getting fussy again, so she just returned to snuggling him.

• Teshiro’s really good at those pen spinning tricks, the other first-years pop off when he does it. He also has the best handwriting of the first-years and they borrow his notes before big tests. Lev's handwriting is borderline illegible— he claims its cause he's Russian but everyone calls him out on his bullshit ("Dude, your first language is Japanese??")

• Fukunaga carries around a slide whistle, when he's not on court he plays it every time someone dives for the ball

• Shibayama's the kinda guy to send buzzfeed quizes in the team groupchat and make everyone take them ("Dont you guys wanna know what cat breed you are?"). Most of the team groan but secretly find it endearing. Kuroo unabashadly loves it and commends Shibayama's team spirit

• None of the second-years are good students— Kenma spends class playing mobile games under his desk or napping, Tora doesn't listen but even if he did he wouldn't process anything, and Fukunaga's in his own little world 90% of the time. Kenma skates by with general smarts but Tora and Fukunaga are in the TRENCHES. Kuroo and Kai help tutor them when needed

• The whole team LOVES Akane, that's their cheer captain!! She gets along best with Fukunaga and Kenma because they're closest to Tora but I think she'd also vibe a lot with Yaku cause they have a similar sassy energy (and height but shh). All of them treat her like an absolute queen, mess with her and you got 10 guys knocking at your door

• Tora picks people up a lot, he just grabs them and throws them over his shoulders. The most common victims are the second years but also Shibayama since he's "bite-sized" as Tora so eloquently puts it. He tried it with Yaku a single time which did NOT go well, he hasn't again since

• When Hinata's in town to hang out with Kenma Inkuoka and Lev WILL find a way to crash it no matter what. The just happened to show up at the same arcade, what a conincidence!! Kenma gives them the death glare but unfortunately for him Hinata is more than happy to let them tag along

• Kai is generally really chill but when he yells he's louder than even Tora. The team finds this out at training camp when they're settling in for the night and the first years decide its a great time to have a pillow fight. One flies directly into a sleeping Kai's face. The other teams can hear the reprimanding through the walls (bro doesn't fuck around with his beauty rest)

• Sometimes they do video game nights at Kuroo's but Kenma is either straight-up banned or given severe handicaps. The one time he loses is during MarioKart when Kuroo starts waving his hands in front of his face and Kenma stops playing to wresting him away (he still manages to beat Tora somehow)

• Kuroo and Yaku argue all the time but if anyone else talks shit about them they hop to the other's defense immediately. You do not get away with making fun of Yaku's height unless you're Kuroo himself.

• Kuroo's the biggest fan of Fukunaga's jokes, as a fellow pun enthusiast he appreciates him keeping the court light-hearted. He laughs way too hard even when they're not that funny and sometimes fires a quip or two back. Also Kuroo's definetly the type to literally slap his knee when laughing

• (Ignore the awful picture quality) There's this scene from the Tokyo Battles stage play where Shibayama dances along with Akane and Alisa from the stands and it's the cutest thing ever i'm obsessed. Anyways I think he's the king of the bench cheerleaders, he teaches Teshiro and Inuoka all the little dances and chants

ok FIRST OFF. basically the very very very basic lore rundown vis a vis What The Hell Is Their Issue is that essentially theyre both semi-hosts to a fucked up fungus* (*think of cordyceps fungi if u want a similar example ^_^) thats using their bodies to keep itself alive.

in moore's case it primarily resides in his throat & mouth* (*hence the fucked up hoarse & wavery voice + stutter) & in theresa's case it primarily resides in her heart* (*hence the fact she essentially just. cannot die. it just refuses to let her heart stop beating. lol. sucks to be her). moore's "healing" is essentially speeding up the healing process but sacrificing pieces of himself to do so, meanwhile he recovers at the same rate a normal human would with those injuries. the entire process is just . incredibly painful and draining for him. sucks to be that guy Lol Lmfao Even.

ok hope you got that. NOW onto their . like. normal actual dynamics i promise this is Far easier to explain.

moore works primarily on site as a sign language interpreter, and he'll pretty much work on anything he can have access to. the man loves information and its basically enrichment for him to be allowed to translate things. he also doubles as an off site medic, traveling primarily to areas where medical help isn't able to be received quick as a first resort health system so they don't use up their medical resources as quick. really the only reason they even have him on medical calls is because he was a med student who just . never went into nursing after graduation. worlds most traumatized 42 year old man who has not socially progressed past the age of 10. He Sucks Bad. its great

THERESA, on the other hand, is just. worlds worst interviewer. she works primarily with the more "violent" or typically dangerous humanoid scps doing interviews which . usually ends in her getting her ass kicked or being dragged out of the room before anything actually gets physical (really, its just because the foundation doesnt want to spend more money on fixing her messes than they have to). her main goal is pretty much to see how much they can take before it turns to violence. theresa takes primary control over anything relating to moore with the justification that he doesn't "truly understand what he's getting into", so long as she has permission from the higher ups.

theres just So Much happening in the background in their relationship honestly like. brief examples include theresa purposefully keeping him sheltered and insisting he not socialize with anyone as a way to keep him under her thumb, the fact moore hates her but literally wouldnt know who he is without her and also thats his sister still and he cant just Leave Her, and also just the fact alone that she, even within foundation walls, has found a way to isolate him further and keep him truly controlled. also like . dont even get me started on theresa purposefully injuring herself so moore will heal her so she has to take care of him and just manipulate him further. endless spiral. they suck so fucking much. my constant go-to is just "cain & abel if they sucked shit and were awful for eachother". but that would take Forever to properly explain so i will not even try to. anyways.

Skywalkers apart au! It's so precious that Anakin gets to be a dad, a rebellion general Dad but he gets to be there for at least one of them and Padme survives and gets to be a mom and maybe someday they get to meet and it's so good.

Also the concept of General Skywalker of the Rebellion feels like it has so much potential cause he was such a big figure in the Clone Wars, he was the Hero, the General, he could probably get the various splinter rebel cells (they were very divided in the early Rebellion) to follow him by sheer reputation and charisma. Imagine Anakin being at Hoth, like the attack is going along the usual Imperial imminent victory and suddenly an AT-AT has been thrown clear across the landscape and an announcement sounds out "General Skywalker has entered the field" cue Rebel Counterattack due to morale boost and Imperial Panic.

What happened to the 501st here? Did he go to the Venator's crash site where Ahsoka was during Order 66 what did he think when he saw all the dead folks?

Fun thought, Starkiller being the apprentice in this AU, means that Sidious has probably been comparing him to Anakin (in part because he's bitter he didn't fall, in other part cause it's great for fueling the darkside) for years so the first time they face off he's gonna be full of spiteful hatred (all going according to plan) before Starkiller gets styled on by the Skywalker, cause Anakin isn't crippled by the suit and that means he's still massively powerful in the force and skilled in the blade (Vader was too, but less than a whole Anakin), I could see Anakin pulling a Lightside version of the Rogue One Hallway scene against Stormtroopers (or even inquisitors).

Rebel General Anakin Skywalker would be an Imperial Boogeyman.

Leia would probably appreciate it for a while but also she'd get a bit annoyed about her dad's reputation and "Legend" and the fact that she's probably got that entire thing to measure up to, making her more reckless or foolhardy. That's a big shadow to live under.

Padme on the other hand is probably in a very different situation reputation wise, she was the senator for the new Emperor's home planet, she's the old queen of naboo from the Trade Federation attack, she's a founding member of one of the oldest discrete rebellion cells but that still leaves some stigma. She's probably so very worried about Imperial surveilance on her or Luke or the rest of her family, and it doesn't help that the Inquistorious has probably been sniffing around for a while.

YES!! yes absolutely! tbh i decided a while back he never gets an official promotion to general, everyone just calls him General Skywalker for so long that it sticks loll. BUT YEAH I mean working with a Jedi is rare and awe-inspiring enough for any rebellion cell but working with the hero with no fear??? half the rebels are wondering if they can interrupt this mission to ask for his autograph

its extra funny bc for the first few years of the empire he's lowkey depressed and like agh i failed the order republic AND my family i'm a terrible horrible no good jedi who nearly turned to the dark side and while he's having this spiral there's some rebel standing next to him pointing and pogging

and yeah he's SO useful in big battles like that!! he's half a legend, half a ghost story, given most ppl think he died in the Purge but here he is, enacting justice on the empire!! tho he does struggle on quieter missions (which happen a lot more at first bc gotta hide from the empire) that you cant just blaze into. its a difficult shift to go from clone wars general skywalker to rebel general skywalker

Padmé is really struggling hiding so much (luke's force sensitivity, her rebel activities, all relations to anakin) and trying to protect Luke while helping the Rebellion WHILE trying not to seem suspicious. a lot on her plate -- only made worse by palpatine keeping a close-ish eye on her, and she can't tell why (is it bc of luke? the rebellion? anakin? or is it just his old favouritism or patriotism being VERY inconvenient??)

on the inquisitors, obvs you don't see a lot of them on coruscant -- but padmé's SO scared abt ppl (MAINLY SIDIOUS WHO, YA KNOW, TRIED TO TURN LUKE'S DAD SITH) finding out abt him and she hates that she's making him repress this part of himself but what choice does she have???

just getting into svsss and honestly the oc thoughts are taking hold, not sure if its been already done but i think itd be funny if airplane's one true defender came into pidw with the system, had an awful yet equally great time in pidw, met airplane at some point, figured each other out as transmigrators, airplane identity reveal and the oc reacts positively, proceeds to gush about meeting the author, even goes so far as thanking airplane for his hard work, airplane surprised to hear so much praise because airplane has spent too long around cucumber and maybe also been getting disrespect about his peak too long,

and then the oc meets cucumber and the identity reveal process is the complete opposite because oc was one true airplane defender and that meant beefing it out with cucumber who was airplane's one true hater, oc agrees with cucumber on some points that pidw is trash in some regards but cucumber shouldnt be bullying airplane over it, cucumber takes his hating too far , he doesnt know airplane's life and writing is hard and its not like pidw was meant to be some great classical work, its a stallion novel has propagated other yy books that many people enjoy , many people enjoyed pidw, the fan polls were (blah blah blah ), the one chapter that came out late that you cant shut up about how if your turning it out late it should be better was delayed due to such-and-such event that was surely stressful for everyone involved, airplane had to find his audience chapter by chapter and keep them interested, the novel is a power fantasy of getting back at those who wronged you with your own hands,

oh no oc is a meta enjoyer, there will be no survivors

idk this is just an idea, itd be fun since oc and cucumber would be biased on opposite sides and would misrepresent the story in different ways arguing with each other, right in font of airplane who has to either sit through it, sneak away, or get involved in their arguments and say whos right or worse, say that theyre both wrong and then they turn on him

and oc would have to grapple with fictional characters being real people and thats always fun to explore in transmigration stories

i hhave such specific headcanons for subspace that i have to drop them all down in one post and it wont even be the end of it. so if u care about headcanons just keep looking...heh

the most focused on headcanon i have is mainly his scars and insane injuries

so basically medkit fucked this man up. his left eye is basically unusable and is completely blanked out. all he sees outta that is like pink. it cant close and can only like open up slightly more. his teeth are pink but that was just a natural fact (headcanon) about him.

after the injuries that medkit gave him, his mind just choice to repress the entire incident as well as whatever lead up to it. it was a spir of the moment headcanon that i thought was funny. he doesnt entirely remember medkits name so he just calls him meddy because thats what he called him in the past. he knows it has something to do with medical equipment so all the biografts call him medical equipment and medkit has to live with the fact that it is his full name in the eyes of the biograft.

nextly, this guy is very physically weak due to the rot. around the first few weeks of the rot being on him, it didn't do much damage but due to the poison he deals with it begins to spread and that takes out some functions so hes a very fragile man. if he falls thats a trip to the blackrock hospital. (not really but its funny)

additionally. hes immune to poisons. he was just born that way. hes immune to all medicines also so he cant really just take a thing of Tylenol and be fine, no. hes gotta thug it out.

poisons have become a lot of what he breathes and its to the point he exhales it like a fucking dragon. Hyperlaser is lucky he has a mask on and that the Biografts are robots. the members of blackrock make sure he keeps his gasmask on so he doesn't accidentally murk someone.

if we go more in detail about his past though...

specifically him and medkits relationship we all know that it was absolutely AWFUL and they hated each other like how bowser would mario (not a great analogy actually)

subspace would interact with him in a fun and positive way though but that's because he had something bigger up his sleeve. he enjoyed ruining medkits day with pranks and subtle inconveniences that would be enough for medkit to call HR and ask for 5 vacation days to get away from that bitch of a twink.

you can only imagine how medkit felt finally getting subspace out of his life. (you probably cant actually)

but those aren't all of my headcanons just the ones i could muster up. there are probably a lot more i haven't written down that i needa find.
