Jace was fully aware that was he was doing would start a war, that it was wrong, to anyone who had a single braincell but he didn't care. He didn't care about the arguments his mother made, about the arguments his grandmother made, both in Princess [NAME]'s behalf. He had been in love with her since he could remember.

"Why should I restrain myself? He argued in return. "I have adored her since I was a child. She is the only one I want to marry and yet, I have been denied of what I wished the most? Targaryen's take what they want, so I did just that."

Daemon hid his smile behind his hand as he soothed his wife. "The boy is right, Targaryen's take what they want."

Rhaenyra was at a loss of words for what to say to both her son and her husband and she dismissed Jace as she felt her own headache coming on. She needed to settle this situation as soon as possible with Alicent.

When Jace entered the chambers that his beloved princess was temporarily staying in, she didn't turn to even look at him, her gaze firmly on the castle she had always been in that stood in the distance.

Her mind was still struggling to grasp the situation at hand.

'Not a prisoner.' Jace's voice in her mind contained so much adoration that it made her sick. 'My wife.'

That was worse. If she was a prisoner it would have been better but his wife? The wife of the boy who had followed her around incessantly and bullied her beloved brother? she would rather cut out her own heart.

"my love." Jace breathed out, walking closer to her only to stop when she turned to glare at him.

"You may hold me hostage, you may forcefully believe me your wife, but do not call em your love, you know nothing of love." She hissed, raising from her place.

"I do, you have always awoken such feelings in me."

she wanted to laugh until she cried and she felt nothing but numbness as she let him hold her hands, letting his thumb run over her knuckles with such tenderness.

"You- You cannot keep me here. My brothers won't stand for this. Nor will my mother, the queen!" She ripped her hands out of his. She desperately wanted to understand what he was thinking. Why would he do this? Why now? Why....?

No matter how much she thought about it, she still couldn't understand him.

"I know, but none of that will matter anymore when we get married. We will be bound by fate, as we have been since we first met." His voice was so soft, so fond.

"It's not fate, it's your own doing." her voice was weakened, like she was fighting off his words to reassure herself.

"Whether it was fate or my own doing matters not, sweet girl." His thumb ran across her cheek. "I will be your husband and there's nothing your brothers or your mother can do about it. Targaryen's take what they want, regardless of the costs, and I will."

Her fate had been sealed on that sunny day when they had first met and nothing could undo it, after all there's nothing more dangerous than a Targaryen in love.

Harassment is horrible, it's terrible mods in this Discord aren't doing anything.

But on the other hand, what about you? You harassed a person over *fanfiction* ( to the point it's the 4th tag who shows up on your blog ). Yet, all your harassment is still there out of the open. You haven't really seriously apologized, especially to them. You're still quite active on fe3h discourse while he had to remove himself from many public online space.

How is this fair?

You're rightfully upset about harassment towards members of your community, there should be *serious* amends made... But how can you hold double standards like that?

I haven't followed the discourse closely because it's so awful, why are you all so hateful? Because you just seems like one of the "bad guy" in this story along with Raxis and the other. I'm not saying you're the same, but you're not really better than those you criticize either, and the same apply for the other blog who participed in your harassment... It's just horrible all around. You're all drowning in a cesspool of toxicity and it's making you all worst people than you actually are.

I hope you, and people around you, will at least receive amend over the harm caused to them. I hope you stop receiving troll, death threat and any other type of hate message you probably still receive. But I hope you'll sincerely recognize your faults and fully amend to them too.

Look, I know you probably mean some kind of well and that you likely spent a long time thinking over this message, so I'm going to lay it out as simply as I can:

I have never once interacted with Cap'n himself, and I have repeatedly told anyone reading my posts to do the same. This is unlike the people who have harassed me and others, who went out of their way to make sure we saw what they were saying about us. This includes publicly admitting to using alts to go around our blocks of them so that they can keep interacting with us directly

Very quickly into critiquing Cap'n's work, a primary focus became pointing out the problematic rhetoric he was spreading with his incredibly influential, incredibly popular fanfic. This includes the justification of holding racist rhetoric, the anti-miscegenation rhetoric, the infantilization of women, the demonization of men, the justification of imperialism, and more, all which appear very quickly into the story and stay prominent throughout the story. The people who have harassed me and others, meanwhile, either deny this rhetoric exists in their circles or outright hold this rhetoric themselves. This includes the use and defense of genocide apologetics.

This post is the first time I have talked about Cap'n in over a year, and the last time I posted any notes on his fic was over a year and a half ago. This is unlike the people who have harassed me and others, who have engaged in harassing behaviors as recently as this week (as of Aug 18 2024).

It has been explicitly said by those close to Cap'n that my notes, while upsetting him, had no part in him leaning away from social media more, unlike what you say here. This is unlike the people who have harassed me and others, who have driven off multiple people from social media and have openly patted themselves on the back for doing so, justifying their harassment by saying the people they've harassed off social media deserved it.

I have kept my critiques strictly on this Tumblr, as have most of the people who have talked about Cap'n's fic. This is unlike the people who have harassed me and others, who have spread their harassment on places such as Twitter, Reddit, and TVTropes.

I have refrained from ever accusing Cap'n of ever holding any bigoted views himself, and have made it a repeated point to say that his problematic writing is far more likely due to ignorance of the subjects involved rather than outright malice. This is unlike the people who have harassed me and others, who have accused many of us as people of being sexist, racist, homophobic, etc. based off of nothing. This includes accusing at least one of us of actual crimes against actual people with no proof and on multiple sites such as the popular and public Edelgard Discord and on Reddit.

People who said they were in contact with Cap'n (as in, mods of the Discord server that Cap'n was once in, the same server that has the mod that uses genocide apologetics) have been told that I was willing to remove parts of my notes that he found too attacking or harsh, and they've been told that I would outright remove all of my posts regarding Cap'n period if he would talk to me directly and we could discuss the implications and rhetoric he had accidentally written into his story. While I do understand him not wanting to do the latter (as it involves directly talking to me), he hadn't even done the former (which does not involve directly talking to me and only involves relaying messages through his friends). And with all of the above on top of that, it gives me the impression that he feels less like "this person is harassing me and that is giving my anxiety" and more "this person is critiquing me and I don't like that." While he has every right to feel the latter, we aren't going to sit here and say that's the same as the former.

So, nonnie, to answer why I am "hateful," as you put it: I don't like stories that unironically say being two races mean you don't belong to either race being influential in a fandom, as a mixed-race woman. I don't like stories that have characters of color only be used as props for the author's favorite little white girl to be influential in fandom, as a person of color. I don't like stories saying that women just want to go back to being innocent pure little girls and not be the wilted tainted flowers they are now to be influential in a fandom, as a woman. I don't like stories that lay the blame of all the world's suffering on the shoulders of a race of people who've barely survived a genocide to be influential in a fandom, as a person with a modicum of knowledge on where that rhetoric inevitably leads to. I don't like stories saying that men who don't bow down to women will almost certainly become rapist pigs or otherwise terrorizing monsters to be influential in a fandom, as someone who rejects sexism of all forms. I don't like stories that liken the violent conquests of imperialism to the blooming of flowers, or that say that imperialism is the only way for the "good" culture to help everyone - actual, genuine rhetoric used to justify actual, genuine imperialism - to be influential in a fandom, as someone who has read any history book ever.

And I don't like how all of this and more have clearly been normalized in big 3H fandom circles and how this has led to multiple people getting harassed, in no small part due to Cap'n's influence on the fandom at large.

I'm sorry if Cap'n doesn't like me pointing out the bigotry he had engraved throughout his story, and I'm sorry if I'm not going to be convinced that me doing that is the same as people's deliberate and long-standing attempts to chase people out of the fandom for saying they don't like Edelgard in the one way they allow anyone to like her, and I'm sorry that me calling out the racism people are engaging in and are hiding behind the shield of "discourse" seems to bother you so much, but I think I've explained why I'm not exactly that sorry well enough. he’d help you make a whole set up. fluffy blankets, hot chocolate, matching pjs. he’d help you scroll through and pick the silliest sounding plot before draping the blanket over the two of you, the only lights in the apartment being the tv and the christmas tree.

he’d debate with you about the different scenarios in the movies. why it would never work between a ceo and small town bakery owner in real life, or how it’s unrealistic for these couples to fall in love in a week.

“i’m just saying, if i had just met you a week ago, i wouldn’t be out here buying you this big expensive christmas gift and introducing you to my parents on christmas eve,” he argues, watching the hot shot business man on the tv.

“quinn! you’re saying you wouldn’t fall in love with me in a week if we didn’t already know each other?” you scoff, not really offended, but you don’t dare agree with him, needing to defend the sweet main character on the screen.

“no? you’re saying you would?” he turns his head to look at you like you’re crazy.

you cross your arms for dramatic effect, leaning away from him. “of course i would! and then i’d bake you the best batch of gingerbread cookies you’d ever have and you’d fall in love with me, too,” you huff, turning your nose up.

“oh, c’mon you can’t be serious,” he throws his arms up in exasperation, not believing you’re seriously mad at him over something this stupid. “these movies are so unrealistic! they meet, fall in love in a week, and they expect us to believe it’s a happily ever after? what about when they find out the other one snores? or they leave their dirty socks in the couch? or they pour the milk in the bowl before their cereal?”

you open your mouth to gawk at him. “i can’t believe you’re saying you wouldn’t fall in love with me if we were in a hallmark christmas movie. how dare you,” you, once again, exaggerate the tone of your voice. you make a big deal of fully scooting away from him, not mad, but too committed to the argument at this point.

“y/n, c’mon, none of this is real life! you can’t really tell me you think any of these relationships would hold up in the real world,” he turns his body towards yours, trying to get you to look at him.

you really put on the theatrics at this point, making your voice quiver and lip shake. “i just…i would like to think that our love would be strong enough to last, that we would find each other in every world, even fake ones like this,” you tell him, sniffling and wiping at the welled up tears you forced to spring to your eyes.

quinn sighs in defeat, not having expected his offhanded comment to turn into this.

“no, babe, no c’mere, you’re right, i’m sorry. our love would prevail in any scenario,” he closes the distance you created, scooping you up in his arms, cradling your head to his chest. “i would totally fall in love with you if i had never met you and spent a week doing nothing but arguing and bickering with you. i’d take you home to meet my parents and brothers on christmas eve and i’d give you some priceless family heirloom as a present and we’d live happily ever after. on every holiday. not just christmas,” he assures, softly petting your head to calm you down.

you grin widely, raising up. “ha! so you would fall in love with me in this stupid movie! i knew it!” you’d nearly shout, pointing a finger and wagging it right in his face.

quinn is shocked, mouth dropping open at the sudden switch up in your demeanor.

“i- what? did you just…fake cry to get me to agree with you?” he’d spit out, not believing you’d stoop to fake tears.

grinning, you nod. “i sure did, and it worked. knew you were whipped, just didn’t know how badly,” you state, proud of your acting skills.

quinn would squint his eyes, shaking his head back and forth. “oh you sick, sly woman,” he’d grit out before playfully lunging at you, attacking you with tickles and kisses, forgetting all about the source of the argument playing on the tv screen in front of you two.

Was rewatching Scissor Seven as a treat and you know what I just noticed? Seven has always shown a propensity for being an incredibly quick learner, which is one of the ways he was so lethal as an assassin, but holy shit I never realized- In the episode Two Heroes, when he's fighting Redtooth he never uses his qi to manipulate his sword in his signature fighting style like we see him do later on with Thousand Demon Daggers and his scissors, but at the end of the fight he literally watches Green Phoenix manipulate his own two swords to drive off Redtooth WITH qi in the same way he often does later on so, so what are the chances this mofo saw GP waving his swords around, said hmm that seems useful and STRAIGHT UP COPIED HIS QI TECHNIQUE FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE JUST FROM WATCHING QP DO IT???

He is a quick learner!! I hope eventually they talk a bit more about it because back in season 1 his only named move at the time was just 'high imitation' when he was able to copy Dachun but he hasn't really tried with anyone else's moves - which I think he would be INSANE with Thirteen's one move she learned from Green Phoenix, twin blades, moonlight on twin phoenixes - but also now in season four he has his own named move that isn't an imitation. It's insane how fast he's able to learn and adapt even whilst actively in combat, especially back when he fought Redtooth back when he was 15.

But also while being a very quick learner I do love that he has this combat style and general attitude about these things that are very much his own. I think the only time before Two Heros he's used his qi on the Thousand Demon Daggers was back in We Meet Again, Captain Jack and Thirteen was in danger. But like really throughout the show along with how fast he learns and keeps things in mind (I mean, he was literally tripping balls when Eleven and Dachun fought and still remembered from back then Dachun's, and the rest of the bodybuilders's, biggest weakness. And he has an affinity for doing things that have never been done before, he just tries new shit and it works! Especially when he fights Redtooth and uses his scissors the way he does at the end of the fight, he does that again in season 3! Above that he also used the sword presented to him as the 'attack only, Thousand Demon Daggers' to protect Thirteen using the shards in season 3.

I think it's really cool like how much he learns and how fast he does but also they still balance that loveable dumbass personality with how insanely quick he is to adapt and learn things

Hey so I’m confused about nevermore like… what is it’s actual purpose?

so i believe Nevermore was originally intended as a medicine for faeries living in the mortal world so they could withstand the high iron concentration in the atmosphere around cities. my sources have told me this is discussed at greater lengths in Modern Faerie Tales (particularly Valiant?), though i have not actually read the series myself.

in TFOTA, however, it appears to be used recreationally:

“[...] nevermore, a glittering golden powder so concentrated that it stupefies faeries and gives mortals the ability to glamour one another.” –The Cruel Prince, Ch. 12

there are some who suggest this difference is just an instance where Holly had an idea of what Nevermore was for MFT, and that idea morphed into something else later when she was writing TFOTA. that the difference is primarily just a world-building inconsistency due to The Passage Of Time(TM).

and while the former might be true, i'd argue that Nevermore, within the context of two separate cultures, would in fact serve different purposes.

i'll use the analogy of ADHD stimulant medication (since i am ADHD so it's my prerogative).

if someone with ADHD takes Adderall, it is a medication, because Adderall chemically balances something in their body which is inhibiting their everyday life (lack of dopamine, if you didn't know).

if someone without ADHD takes Adderall, they will experience a high. a stupefication, if you will. because they already have sufficient dopamine, and Adderall provides an influx of dopamine.

similarly, in the mortal world, faeries must chemically balance their systems to tolerate iron because human cities use iron in abundance. to do this, faeries living in the mortal word take Nevermore as a medication to balance the negative effects iron has on their bodies.

on the Shifting Isles of Elfhame, however, there is presumably zero iron. or at least very little of it since iron could potentially occur naturally in their environment. regardless, the people living on the islands don't need Nevermore to nullify an excess of iron in their systems, and therefore, Nevermore produces a drug-like effect in faeries as well as humans.

the reason it is still consistent is because we are receiving information about Nevermore from biased characters living in two separate cultures, who might not know how it is used in other Faerie cultures.

second !! i don’t think there’s a certain set of steps you need to follow— it’s super duper personalized!! you can just do whatever looks most fun to you yk ?? but for me .. i think the first thing i did was get selfship art. the joy i get from that is insane— so insane, and i love talking to people MSMSMS oh god i love artists so much. i think second ? came the lore ?? i was listening to a song and thought about it!! it didn’t come all at once though. i just wanted to have something in my ‘about me’ that showed my selfship (i listed dates we go on first, then came up with the 1st meeting, etc). right now im searching for an artist who takes comms for like .. a manga panel ?? if that makes sense. i’d really want that next !!

so you really don’t need to worry about steps!! there’s a lot you can do with a selfship. you can write lore, get art comms, or maybe music? what music suits u two? AUs ?? you can make a playlist, you can host ask games where people ask about u two, you can write selfship drabbles, you can make moodboards, etc !! there is so much you can do. it’s so fun !! you can also make a selfship tag and link it somewhere on your blog so you can go through your own ship whenever you want a lil boost of happiness > < LOVE THAT. DONT BE SHY!!!

If you were to write Adrien in a non-salt way, how would you do it?

I suppose I opened myself up for this, with that SSS I just posted, but here we go again. 🙃

I don't consider the way I write Adrien as "salt". I understand how it can be viewed that way by his fans (which it's no secret I am not), but "salt" has such a sticky definition in this fandom anymore. Salt doesn't actually exist; if you don't like something, no matter how valid your reasoning is, it's "salt". You're not even allowed to fall back on "I just don't like it" without having a sound moral argument anymore. Any negative comment is grounds for calling "salt", and I don't have the time or mental energy to deal with such petty bullshit.

I don't consider it salt to be presented with certain characteristics in canon and then run with them. I don't consider myself a salt writer. Every time I've written Adrien, the basis for his character is exactly what we're presented in canon: pushy, manipulative, clingy, etc. If that's not your cup of tea, you can move on. There are plenty of people willing to write "sugar" pieces about him - you won't be missed around here, and you'll be happier with your options. Everybody wins that way. The internet is what you make it; cultivate your own experience with things that don't piss you off.
