This is a part of Felix I really like. When it comes to Rodrigue, as long as Rodrigue is safe, Felix is his usually tsun self... but as soon as anything dangerous happens to him (in both games) Felix gets anxious.
It's a nice detail because it makes sense for him to feel that way after losing Glenn, and since this is in VW, he's also, presumably at this point, lost Dimitri. It makes sense that if something felt off about his family (i.e. Dimitri is basically his brother, thus family. Dimitri literally sees Rodrigue as his second father) that he would get uncomfortable.
What I love about it is how much it speaks to his real feelings. He can act uppity and vocal all he wants, but as soon as something happens to these people he claims he doesn't like or care about, it makes him antsy. For all the nonsense he talks about them, as soon as something happens to them, he struggles to accept it (such as why, in his AM advice box note, you have to tell him that that's just the way life is sometimes when he's grieving about his father).
For all of Felix's complaining about Rodrigue, as soon as Rodrigue suddenly isn't able to update him regularly or communicate with him during a war, he becomes uneasy. He's not suddenly grateful like oh finally the old man shut up. He gets nervous that they've suddenly had little to no contact. He's unsettled not knowing what's going on with Rodrigue.
I love this line because it's who Felix really is, without all the posturing. He'll act tough and angry in front of them, but as soon as something goes wrong, he wants to know what's happening. He's afraid of not knowing what's going on. He's afraid that the Kingdom could be in a bad situation, or worse for him, that his father could be in a dangerous situation.
If he didn't care about Faerghus or his father anymore, why would it bother him not to get updates? If Rodrigue was in contact with Felix despite Felix being in the Alliance army, Rodrigue obviously had no issue with that and still took the time and effort to remain in contact with him. Plus, if Felix says this now, it means they'd been pretty regularly exchanging information up to that point and it's just recently started to go quiet, and Felix is uncomfortable with that. He wants to know what's happening.
It's so rare that he acts like this, but when he does it's very powerful. It's sincere and genuine - something he usually is not. He hides his feelings about people if they're safe in front of him. If they're not in front of him and could be in danger, he's worried.
I just wish we had more lines like this because they're so good for his character and help to get him past the issue Houses often has with tropey aspects of characters being their entire personality. In Hopes it's handled significantly better imo, but before we had AG Felix we only really had crumbs of who Felix really was and the parts of himself that he hid from others.
#DCB Three Houses Run#here in this house we love when felix actually shows that he cares and worries abt his father#and also dimitri bc like regardless of what he says dimitri is... basically his step brother#just bc it's not ''official'' doesn't mean dimitri doesn't basically see it that way#i.e. he sees rodrigue as his father and well... considering his childhood and how families work#would reasonably see felix as his step brother. felix doesn't like to admit it but#i think he's accepted that and that's why what dimitri goes through bothers him so much#obviously felix is TERRIBLE at handing mentally ill ppl but... he doesn't like seeing dimitri like that#to him those two are still his family and i appreciate that in vw he's extremely conflicted and#very nervous and upset about what's happening in faerghus

Warnings: swearing!
Felix
Felix Graham de Vanily has never imagined the day when he would be actually in love - but it actually happened and he wasn’t even prepared for it.
Needless to say, it hit him like a truck and sent him to heaven.
This was his heaven, being on a big bed with you and playing with your hair while you watched your favourite show on Netflix.
“I told you he was going to be the bad guy! I knew it all along!” You exclaimed and jumped up, startling him but ultimately, making him smile.
“It was quite obvious my love.” He chuckles and you pout, crossing your arms while you plop back down next to him.
“But he was my favourite character Felix! And he’s probably going to die now too.” You look up at him and he can’t help but smile at your adorable, pouting face.
He cups your face in his hands and you instantly smile when you see his smile. It was contagious. He rarely smiled so you just feel so much joy bubbling inside of you when the blond smiled at you and you couldn’t help it.
He quickly kisses the tip of your nose and you giggle before crawling on his lap, peppering his face with kisses and completely ignoring the show you were watching.
The room was filled with little kissing noises and giggles coming from both of you.
His hand moves from your waist to your thighs, caressing the fabric of the white thigh high socks you were wearing beneath your pink tennis skirt.
His touch comforted you and you close your eyes, resting your forehead on his and humming gently.
“You’re so beautiful.” He whispers out of the blue and you gently open your eyes, staring right into his.
A blush creeps on your cheeks and you part your lips, inching closer to his face to kiss him.
A thought bursts through your head move your lips could touch and you smile brightly.
“Can we go feed the ducks again?” You ask him, your eyes bright and excited at the memory of the last time you went with him.
He took you to the park last time and you fed the ducks together because it was something he enjoyed doing as a child with his nanny. You didn’t know that such a simple activity could bring him so much joy and you were looking forward to the next time you two did it.
His face lights up and he nods, “Of course darling.” He replies and you excitedly hop off of his lap. “Wait you meant right now?” He asks, furrowing his eyebrows.
You were already lacing up your boots so you look at him over your shoulder and pout. “Yes?” You question.
“I thought we were going to..you know..” He looks away sheepishly.
You smirk at him. “Don’t worry Felix, you can have me all to yourself later, I promise.” You say and finish with a wink.
He nods and blushes, letting out a small chuckle.
You finish up putting on your boots and wait for him to get ready before the two of you head out of his house hand in hand.
You two walk through the park, his hand in one of your hands and in the other hand you held a small paper bag full of bread for the ducks.
Children were playing all over the park and people were chatting around you. It was nice to get out of the house with him sometimes, even if he does prefer staying at home.
“Oh look it’s Felix.” A male voice said which was followed by laughter.
You feel Felix tense up and he freezes.
You were quite confused as to what was happening so you decide to turn around and see two guys around the same age as Felix and you.
“Please ignore them my love, let’s go.” He whispers to you and you furrow your eyebrows at them before nodding to Felix.
“I see you got yourself a little girlfriend.” They speak again and you can hear their footsteps behind you. “You’re making a big mistake dating that little pansy babe, come with us and we’ll show you what a real man is like.”
You were livid.
You couldn’t control yourself so you turn around, letting go of your boyfriend’s hand.
“A real man huh?” You say and cross your arms over your chest, walking up to them. “I’d rather die than date one of you hideous mother fuckers.”
They were taken aback, wide eyed, probably not expecting you to talk back.
“Felix is more of a man than you ever will be.” You stare right into the bully’s eyes. “When was the last time you ever got some huh?” your lips curl into a smirk.
“I-i…uhm, well..” he stutters and the other nudges him, mouthing something.
“That’s what I thought.” You say and turn around. “Don’t ever come for my boyfriend again.” You state and grab felix’s hand, looking up at him.
His face was beet red, his eyes were wide and you couldn’t help but grab the back of his head and kiss him right then and there.
He smiles against your lips and you pull away before the two of you walk away from them.
“That was..” He clears his throat. “hot.” He blurts out.
You cover your mouth with your hand and giggle.
The two of you continue your day near the lake, laughing and throwing bread for the ducks to eat.
He made you feel safe and now you were at peace knowing you did the same to him too.
Luka
You’ve been waiting for this night for a long time.
Your boyfriend’s first opening gig with his band.
It wasn’t something grand and big – I mean, it was just a small pub downtown but you knew this was a big night for him and so it turned out to be a big night for you too.
You were ready to show him all your support and love, wearing your favourite flowy dress and his lucky guitar pick hanging on a silver chain around your neck.
Your friend Marinette was by your side, she even designed the costumes for everyone so both of you were super psyched for what was happening.
You made your way to the back stage and saw your boyfriend, Luka, sitting down on a chair and tuning his guitar, nodding his head to the beat.
“Luka..” You whisper and tap his shoulder.
He opens his eyes and looks at you, a smile instantly making it’s way on his face.
“There’s my favourite girl.” He says and gets up, hugging you tightly while you giggle. “I’m so glad you could make it.” He says quietly.
“I wouldn’t miss it for the world.” You say and kiss him on the cheek.
He kisses you on the forehead and pulls away from the hug, wrapping an arm around your neck.
“Hey Marinette.” He says and smiles at her.
The bluenette grins at the two of you. “Are you excited?” She asks.
“More like nervous.” Luka replies and let’s out a heavy breath. “I’m not usually this nervous but damn, I can’t believe we finally got a gig.”
You look up at your boyfriend with adoring eyes. “Don’t be nervous Luka, I know it’s going to go great.” You reassure him and he smiles down at you, nodding.
Luka is a really calm person so seeing him nervous means that this really means a lot to him. He has been practicing for weeks and you couldn’t be more proud of how far he’s come.
You gasp at the sudden realisation of something and move away from his grasp, rummaging through your little back pack.
“A-ha!” You say and pull out a blue bracelet that you made yourself.
You look up at Luka and smile before handing it to him.
“I made this for you and I want you to wear it tonight for goodluck.” You say, your cheeks heating up when you look at him as he stares at the bracelet you made. “Since you gave me your lucky guitar pick for me to wear, I thought I should give you some luck of my own.” You look down at your shoes sheepishly.
“You’re an absolute angel, have I ever told you that?” He says and grabs your hand, making you look up at him.
You glance down at his wrist and see that he already put on the bracelet.
You get on your tip toes and give him a small kiss on the lips.
“Thank you.” He whispers and tucks a strand of your hair behind your ear.
“Guys get ready in 5” Someone says from the curtains and Luka instantly stiffens up.
You give him one last kiss on the cheek before walking next to Marinette.
“Goodluck.” You say and give him a reassuring smile as you wave at him.
He nods at you and runs a hand through is hair before grabbing his guitar.
You and Marinette leave back stage and make your way to your seats.
The pub was small so it easily got crowded with people.
You sigh and play with your hair. “I’m so nervous for Luka, Mari.” You tell Marinette.
She rubs your shoulder to calm you down and shakes her head.
“He’s going to do just fine girl, you’ll see.” She says and gives you a bright smile which comforted you.
The background music playing in the pub fades away and the lights start to dim.
“La bulle proudly presents, Kitty Section!” A voice says over the speakers and whistles and claps fill the room.
The curtains open and it reveals the band in their designated places.
You glance at Luka and smile at him before the music starts.
Rose was in front, singing her heart out to their original song and Luka was behind her, nodding his head as he played the guitar with passion.
You admired him and his talents, he used to write and sing so many songs for you, little did you know that one day he would actually be performing in front of a real audience.
Luka was vocalising to the chorus with rose and his eyes suddenly find yours.
He looked amazing.
The clothes that Marinette styled them with, his skin glistening under the lights and a few strands of hair stuck to his forehead because of the sweat.
You bit your lip as you kept looking at him. He was so into the song, so immersed in everything and it was so fucking hot to you.
He noticed this and his lips curled into a small smirk.
“Wow.” You breathed out quietly.
Marinette was beaming at the band and clapping. “I know right!” She laughs happily.
You grinned and sat up as they ended and clapped.
The whole pub was clapping for your boyfriends band and you were so happy for them.
Everyone was walking to talk to them of greet them and all you had on your mind was Luka, you just wanted to hug him and congratulate him and maybe even make out with him in the bathroom.
“Excuse me.” You mutter as you try to make way towards him.
Your eye catches a blonde girl in front of him, talking to him and laughing.
You freeze and something bubbles inside of you.
Jealousy?
You weren’t the type to be jealous but you couldn’t help the feeling.
You decided not to think much of it and gulped, continuing to make your way toward them.
“Can you like, sign my boobs?” You hear her say and giggle.
“Pardon?” Luka blurts out, looking at her with wide eyes.
Nope. That was it.
You quickly move between the last few people and walk up to them.
The girl started to unbutton her shirt and you furrowed your eyebrows.
Before anything else could happen you made your way to Luka and grabbed his shirt, kissing him.
The girl stopped her movements but held her hand on the buttons of her shirt.
You pull away from Luka and watch him as he blinks a few times, dazed as to what just happened.
“go show your boobs to someone else you skank.” You spit out, narrowing your eyes at her.
She scoffs at you and flips her hair before walking away from you guys.
You clench your jaw and Luka grabs your hand.
“Hey, are you okay?” Luka says and you huff.
“Yeah, I’m fine.” You look away from him and frown.
“You know, I wasn’t going to sign her boobs.” He says and shrugs.
You look at him and roll your eyes. “Yeah.” You murmur.
“Didn’t know you could be so jealous.” He says in a teasing voice.
It was your turn to scoff and you look at him. “I wasn’t jealous.”
“Uh-huh.” He says and you stare into his eyes for a moment.
He was smirking at you, so calm, while you were red and angry inside at the thought of some bitch showing her boobs to your boyfriend.
Next thing you knew though, you were sitting on the sink of the pubs bathroom, making out with your boyfriend.

Curiosity Killed The Cat ~ LMH & LF [M] [Request]
WORD COUNT: 4.9K
PAIRING: Minho x Fem!Reader x Felix
GENRE: consensual smut, Hitman au, mentions of death, assisnation, bombings, blood, face riding, oral, threesome, M/F/M, after care, no protection
A/N: Please I had so much fun with this! I love writing AU’s so much!!! 🥺🥰💗 Hope this is okay for you my lovely little anon!
"If you don't stop tapping that pen I'm going to shove it so far down your neck you'll whistle when you breathe," Minho growled in Felix's direction as they sat together in an old beat-up car. All Felix had done for the last four hours was tap and click the pen over and over again deciding that he was single-handedly going to be the one driving force that made Minho want to quit his job.
"I don't see anything else to do," Felix countered as he stared back at his partner who simply glared at him before looking out of the window again. It was a stupid idea to stake out a university it looked suspicious that two men were waiting in a car outside but it was the bosses orders. Stake out the school and wait for the suspect to come out but it felt creepy. Although it was a university and most of the students were their age it was strange to them both.
"Have we actually seen him go in?" The truth was no one had seen the guy that they were after in almost seven months, he was good at hiding which was why he was nicknamed "The Chameleon," something Minho hated. Why give the bad guy a name it was only going to boost the ego even more.
"He's supposedly acting as a student," Minho handed the folder over to Felix keeping his eyes on the door, the Chameleon could walk out right under your nose and no one would have an idea it was him.
"Why a student? Surely it would be feeling for him to be a teacher," Felix flicked through the folder the guy was a serial bomber that his company had been after for years. He'd killed almost over 100 people with no remorse whatsoever. It was as if the guy was a robot, he didn't care who he hurt as long as he got what he wanted, not that anyone knew what that was. His clues were always so vague. One thing for sure, it wasn't money that he was after.
The government had tried to pay him to stop the needless killings only for the guy to blow the bag up in the middle of the street.
"Easier to hide...Won't be so obvious when things go missing around the school...The student we're looking at fits his usual MO." Minho sighed taking a deep breath and looking at Felix for the first time in an hour. It was beginning to worry him the closer the two of them got to catching the guy. Their job wasn't a simple catch him and arrest him, no, they were the last resort. Kill him on sight as soon as they know, without a shadow of a doubt that it's him. Assassins or as they were better known as now, Hitmen.
"Transfers in the middle of the year, things from the science department go missing and then there's the-" Right as Minho was about to explain that there were constant fire drills the alarm began to blare out through the school.
"Those," He mumbled staring back over at the double-doored exit from the school. There was no use sitting at the entrance when they knew he liked to hide from everyone, if he was the one doing this they needed to find him and quickly before anyone else got hurt.
"Another drill?" You mumbled looking to your left to see your best friend Mina smirking at you, you rolled your eyes knowing why she was so happy. Thanks to the fire alarm she was going to get out of her final exam and pass it no matter what,
"It wouldn't surprise me if you were the one pulling them," You mumbled sarcastically as you pulled your satchel over your shoulder, looking around for her so-called boyfriend.
"What did you do? Get Farara to pull it?" You teased as you jabbed your elbow into her side, walking out into the courtyard and taking in a deep breath,
"You need to relax, we've just finished exams and you're still studying," Mina rolled her eyes at you, it was always the same with her. She wanted you to let your hair down and relax while you wanted to focus on things that were important to you, like actually passing your course.
"I have another two years to go, you're done. I'm just getting started." You reminded her as you looked around, you loved Mina with all of your heart but since meeting Farara she seemed to be getting in trouble more. Not only with the university but with the police. Just last week you'd been called down to the station to bail her out because she was caught driving around in a stolen car with enough products to set a whole house on fire.
"Take a year off, come with me and Farara to England. He's going to take me away and spend time with his family." The more you heard about the guy the more worry began to grow inside of you. She'd hardly known him and yet she was planning to run away to a different country with him,
"What does he even do for a living? To get all of this money?" You questioned hoping she wouldn't get too annoyed with you asking her about him. It seemed as though whenever you asked questions she would get pissed at you, claiming that you were just trying to poke holes in their "relationship,"
"What does it matter?" She stared at you with a disgusted look on her face,
"Hey, baby!" A voice cried out as a pair of strong-looking arms wrapped around Mina.
"Snuckums!" She practically squealed making you jump as she turned around and began making out with him grotesquely in front of everyone.
"That's my cue to leave," You said loud enough for them to hear, turning to head home to your dorms when Mina grabbed your arm.
"Party tonight. Come with us," She begged looking at you with pleading eyes, as you were about to decline Farara scoffed at the thought of it.
"Y/n? At a party, don't make me laugh. She's the party pooper baby, she doesn't know how to have fun." For some reason, the anger bubbled up inside of you and it seemed to annoy you more. If Mina had been the one to say it it wouldn't have bothered you as much but from him, you wanted to prove him wrong.
"I'll be there. Text me the details," You smiled smugly in his direction but he just seemed to smirk, it made you feel uneasy to see him smirking at you like that.
"This will be great! A going-away party right baby!?" Mina squealed before making out with him once again.
After spending almost four hours trying to pick something to wear you finally felt ready to go and headed straight to the party. It was at the frat house Farara had been living in since he got to the university. The whole walk over from your dorms you could have sworn someone was following you along.
"Glad you could join us, take this." Mina handed you a drink and then laid a flower necklace around you before disappearing into the house leaving you alone.
The whole house seemed to be partying hard, loud music was blaring for different speakers each of which was playing a different song. People were already yelling and dancing drunkenly along the floor and not to mention someone throwing up in a flower pot.
"You came pretty late, didn't think you were going to show," Farara smirked once he caught sight of you in the kitchen. You hummed before putting down the cup Mina had given to you, there was no way you were going to drink that night. Not unless it was water at least. You didn't know anyone besides Mina and she was clearly preoccupied with other things.
"We have juice boxes in the basement," Farara joked earning a laugh from someone else in the kitchen but Mina pushed him softly.
"Leave Y/n alone, she came and that's all that matters. Come on, let's go dance." She pulled you straight into the living room without giving you a chance to answer her.
"Isn't this fun?! I'm so sad you never got to have parties all year," She pouted at you, wrapping her arms around your waist as she swayed in time to whatever song she heard first. The mixture of the songs and stench alcohol all starting to hurt your head the longer that you stood there but you were at least going to wait an hour before heading home.
"What the fuck are we doing?" Minho mumbled as he stared down at the jeans and shirt he was wearing, Felix had dressed in the same outfit only a different coloured shirt. When Felix suggested going to the party Minho didn't think he meant actually attending it.
"We're blending in." He chuckled laying one of the flower necklaces around Minho's neck who stared at him with a filthy look the moment it touched his chest.
"What better way to find out information than going to the people that know the guy." It still didn't make Minho feel any better about being at some kind of dumb University frat party. Everyone was drunk and drooling over one another except for the girl that they had followed over, you.
"Look," Minho nudged Felix and nodded in your direction as they watched you heading for the bathroom alone. You stood out amongst the rest, instead of dancing or drinking you were simply looking for a bathroom and keeping your head down. They only knew about the party because they'd overheard you and Mina talking about it earlier that day.
"She looks like she could be here to help, we saw them speaking with one another earlier," Minho reminded Felix but he shook his head,
"She does look like she wants to be here, they didn't look like they liked one another." Minho shrugged his shoulders as he thought back on it,
"All good acting," The two of them weren't sure if Farara had a partner this time but in all of his other bombings, he had someone. Someone who would take the fall for him, usually the good girl gone bad once they met him and fell for his traps. Promising them a life of happiness in another country, planning everything out so it would seem as though he truly loved and cared for them when he didn't.
"I'm just saying we find The Chemelon, take care of business and leave," Felix whispered as they made their way through to the kitchen when they saw him. A loud laugh spread through the air that physically sent shivers down their spines, watching as he left out of the kitchen door and down the back garden.
"Follow him," They said in unison as they headed out of the same door, keeping their heads down as they tried to see what it was he was doing.
Stepping out onto the back porch you took in a long deep breath of the cold air, it felt nice to have it circulating through you instead of the stuffy air from inside. Mina had begged you to stay once she caught you trying to leave, making you promise her that you wouldn't go anywhere until she found Farara who had run off leaving her in charge of the party. In your mind, he was out fucking someone else since he seemed like a player but you weren't about to tell one of your best friends that.
The longer you stood there the more you wanted to go home but as you looked down at the end of the garden you frowned. Inside the small shed, there was a flashing light coming through the window and you could have sworn you heard someone grunting.
"I swear to god if this is Farara I'll murder him," You mumbled to yourself as you began to walk towards the building. All you were going to do was look through the window, if it was him you'd find Mina and tell her. If it wasn't him you'd just act as though you hadn't seen anything but the closer you got the more uneasy you began to grow. Something inside of you was telling you to turn back but you weren't about to let your friend get cheated on by some good for nothing low-life.
"Tell us what you're planning and maybe we'll let you off easy," Felix whispered in Farara's ear from behind him. They'd followed him out and found him packing up a suitcase which meant the bombing was sooner than expected from him.
"I don't know what you're talking about," The boy stuttered as he stared between the two men in front of him, both of them had guns on display to intimidate him into speaking. As if being strapped into a chair with garden rope wasn't scary enough for him.
"Look, we know who you are. Just tell us where the bomb is," As soon as the word bomb left Minho's mouth he heard a gasp and branch snap from outside the shed. His eyes met with Felix and he nodded over to the side door where Felix could easily get out without being seen.
Stepping back from the building you tried to move out of the way but ended up backing into someone who pushed you back to the window. Forcing you to stare through it as the man inside shot Farara in the chair he was strapped to. There was no sound from the gun you just saw a blur before Farara dropped forward, lifeless in the chair as blood pooled from the small entrance wound in his head. A small scream was building up in your throat but before you could say a word a hand was covering your mouth and you were ushered into the shed.
"Clean up to Agents 322 and 366," The man who had killed Farara said down a small earpiece looking over at you with a small smirk on his face,
"What a curious little kitten," Felix purred in your ear as he ran his fingers up and down your cheek making you shiver,
“Curiosity Killed The Cat you know,” Minho chuckled as he looked over at you from his phone.
"I'll ask you once, and only once." Minho lowered himself to your level, looking you in the eyes.
"Do you know who he's working with? Your friend maybe? Could she have known what he was planning?" Bile rose up in your throat as you watched the blood pooling onto the floor, running along to Mino's shoes as he stood there.
"Mina. S-She wouldn't have know...I don't think," You looked back at Minho, the gut feeling inside of you seemed to subside as you looked at him and Felix who was now standing in front of you.
"You don't seem scared that we just killed your friend?" Felix questioned looking from the body and back to you, your eyes get dancing to and from Farara, half expecting him to jump up and have this be some kind of joke.
"A friend? I didn't know him and he did nothing but belittle me...What was it you said about a bomb?" Curiosity began to build in Minho as he watched you, there wasn't even an ounce of fear towards them from you.
"Have you heard of the Chameleon?" The realization hit you as you stared at Farara.
"He fits the MO." You mumbled shocking Felix who just seemed to stare at you in disbelief.
"You're training to be in the forces?" Minho asked as he laid a garden sheet over the body, your eyes staring back at him this time.
"My father was an FBI agent, I know some things...I know you're not FBI." A smirk plastered across Felix's lips as he watched you and Minho interacting the way you were. It was the first time he'd ever seen Minho act so casually with someone in months, not to mention he seemed laid back.
"How do you know that?" Felix quizzed looking over at you as he folded his arms over his chest.
"For starters, neither of you have a badge otherwise you would have shown me by now, your guns aren't standard issue for agents...So you're hitmen...That or random psychopaths." Minho blinked at you before standing up straight when he heard a knock on the door.
"Clean up crew," Minho pulled the door open and ushered you out with Felix on your other side.
"Do you need help with her?" A female voice asked as you turned your whole body to see a female staring at you.
"No thanks, you go and clean up. We'll take her home." Your eyes shot up to the one with the deep voice, Felix, and you frowned.
"We'll make sure you get home safe," Minho added when he could see how confused you were.
Leading you over to their car you stared at it, it was the same car that had been following you earlier.
"You followed me here," The back door opened and you crawled inside, looking around at all of the empty food packets.
"Ignore the mess, we were on a stakeout," Felix chuckled as he got into the front passenger seat and glanced back at you.
"I'm Felix and this is Minho," He shook your hand and you felt a spark ignite inside of you. The way his hand fit around yours made you shiver a little,
"Look at that, someone liked your touch Lix." Your eyes shot to Minho started up the car and smirked at you through the small review mirror.
"Give us your address kitten," The small nickname made you clench your thighs as you could feel an aerosol building. After giving them your dorm address you began trying to pull yourself back together, you'd just watch them kill someone and yet you were getting wet at the thought of them calling you kitten. It didn't help that they were insanely attractive, Felix's muscles could be seen through the thin white shirt he was wearing and Minho's ass looked like he worked out an awful lot. You blinked, ignoring the growing wetness that was pooling between your legs.
"Look at that, we haven't said one suggestive comment and you're squeezing your little thighs together," Minho chuckled as he reached a red light, turning to look at you from the front seat and licking his lips at the sight of you. Completely innocent and sitting there rubbing your legs together as if that was going to give you any kind of satisfaction that you were desperately craving.
"My guess is she's going to go home and touch herself to the thought of us," Minho teased as he began to drive once again, watching Felix as he turned to look at you. His eyes locking with you as he reached behind to rub your knee softly.
"I mean she doesn't have to think of us, we could do it for you princess." The car stopped outside your dorm but you made no attempt to move as the car was shut off.
"Would you like that?" Minho questioned turning his body to look at you. The need to press your thighs together built up but Felix kept them apart, licking his lips as he waited for you to answer the question. A finger trailed up and down your knee and you shuddered,
"Yes! Yes...Yes, I would like that," You spoke loudly as you stared at both of them, the two exchanged a smirk with one another before climbing out of the car and holding your door open.
"Then who are we to let a pretty little kitten go home needy," Felix growled in your ear, holding your arm as you all walked in the direction of your dorm room.
Neither of them wasted time when they got into your room, attaching their lips to either side of your neck as you let out small whimpers of pleasure. You could already feel each of them smirking against your skin, Felix's hands around your waist while Minho kept his on your breasts, massaging them softly with his hands whenever you would whimper.
"Here we thought you were the good girl," Minho whispered making you jerk away from him,
"I'm not. I'm sick of people saying that to me," You spat at him your eyes locking with his as he tilted his head to the side, a smug look on his face.
"Prove it to me," Without another word you pushed him down onto your bed sinking to your knees in front of him. You pulled down the jeans he was wearing discarding them behind you, forgetting about Felix behind you until he laid down on the floor.
"Up," He ordered, you rose to your knees and he slid under you so his breath was right against your core.
"Looks pretty," He whispered referencing the bright pink thong you had worn under your dress that night,
"But it needs to go." One snapping sound later and you felt a cool breeze on your core,
"Dripping wet Minho, you should see her." A finger began to trace along your folds making your hips jolt forward,
"So wet, pretty and-" A small kiss was placed on your clit and your eyes widened,
"Tastes define." Felix moaned out in a deep voice, you whimpered looking at Minho.
"The confidence seems to have faded from you kitten," You ignored him pulling his cock free from his boxer and smirking at the length. He was larger than you expected but you slowly pumped him in one hand, looking up at him smugly as he jerked. Minho shifted a little, leaning back against the bed letting his elbow prop him up. Running your fingers over the indent under the head of his cock your smirk grew wider as he moaned out.
"Good girl," He breathed out as your tongue began to caress him, swirling around the head of his cock before you took him into your warm mouth pumping your head back and forth while your other hand rested on his thigh.
"My turn," Felix whispered pulling you to sit down on his face as you let out a moan around Minho's cock who seemed to moan out in pleasure. Hollowing out your cheeks you ran your tongue over the indent you'd found earlier and he cried out gripping onto the sheets around him.
"Oh shit!" You moaned out as you could feel Felix's tongue running through your folds while he worked two fingers in and out of you, curling them up to meet your g-spot making you cry out again.
Minho thrust up into your mouth as you took him back, moving your head faster this time setting his whole body aflame. Each thrust of your head caused his whole body to stiffen and he looked at you, holding your face as he began to thrust a little more. You smirked around him nodding at him to let him know it was okay and he slowly began to thrust into your mouth.
"S-Shit she likes that Hyung, clenching around my tongue." Felix chuckled as he continued to eat you out aggressively as you rode his face, your hips bucking little by little as you felt an orgasm beginning to build up inside of you. Minho thrust up once more before his whole body shook and he let out a moan of your name, cumming into your mouth as he rolled his head back. You swallowed every last drop and focused on the pleasure Felix was giving to you, gripping onto the bed as you rocked your hips in time with his licks.
"So pretty when your face contorts like that," Minho chuckled as he began kissing you softly, holding your neck in his hand lightly as he forced you to look at him,
"Do you like this? Two strangers fucking you?" You nodded as you let out a choked moan, pulsating around Felix's fingers as he continued to thrust them into you at a rough pace.
"Cumming!" You screamed out as your hips continued to buck as your orgasm ripped through you, your legs shaking as you tried to stay upright on your knees instead of falling to the floor the way you wanted to.
"Y/n?" Felix whispered as he pulled himself into a sitting position, watching you as you ripped your dress off from your body, you were ready and you needed one of them inside of you. Now.
Lips met yours over and over again as Minho pulled you up onto the bed, sitting back against the headboard as you straddled his lap. Kissing him wherever you could, lips, neck, collarbone, anywhere you could get your lips on him. Felix sat behind you naked, his cock pressed against your ass as you let out a whine.
"Still so wet," Felix chuckled as he teased your entrance with two fingers, meanwhile Minho had worked his fingers down to your clit circling slowly.
"Holy fuck," You breathed out as your head fell forward to rest on top of Minho's. Your brain was in a fog as they continued to tease you with their fingers until Felix sank two inside of you and Minho applied the pressure that made you cry out pushing your hips back into Felix.
A third finger was added and your whole body felt as though it was on fire, your fingernails dug into Minho's arms as you cried out a mixture of both of their names.
"Someone is ready for us," Minho chuckled as they removed their fingers making you whimper at the sudden lack of touch from either of them. Felix moved to the edge of the bed and sat in the same position Minho had before.
"On the floor kitten," He whispered as you got onto your knees in front of him, this time Minho sat behind you with his cock at your entrance causing you to clench around nothing.
"You sure?" You ignored the stupid question as you sank down onto Minho's cock crying out as you adjusted to the size of him.
"That..Oh shit...That's a yes Felix," Minho moaned out as he held onto your thighs, grunting at the tight feeling as you wrapped around his cock. Smirking to yourself you looked up at Felix, taking him into your mouth and began to bob your head as you had done with Minho. The two men moaning out in pleasure as you controlled them, moving your hips up and down at a slow pace just to torture Minho that little bit more.
"Fuck," Minho's hands gripped onto your waist and he thrust up harder and faster into you, his breathing jagged as he moaned out your name. Felix's cock twitched into your mouth as you began to roll your tongue around the head of his cock, reaching your hand down between your thighs to circle your clit.
Fire was beginning to build in your stomach with both moans from men titling you over the edge.
"Just like that," Felix cried out as you moved your head in time with Minho's fast thrust. The room filled with wet sounds and slapping skin as you cried out around Felix's length. Felix's hand rested on your cheek as he began to thrust into your mouth, grunting as he came down your throat holding you around him until his hips stopped jerking.
"M-Minho! I-I’m cumming! I-I’m cumming!" You screamed out as he continued his sinfully fast thrusts until he came into you touching you deeply as your head rolled back against his chest. Clenching onto anything you could get your hands on, screaming out his name. Cumming around him as you pulsated in pure bliss, your whole body felt as though it was shaking.
Minho smirked as you slept in his shirt, they'd managed to clean you up with a warm wet cloth and got you into bed.
"Poor thing must be exhausted," He smirked running his fingers over your face as your frowned in deep slumber.
"That was a nice reward though for finishing our job," Felix laughed as he looked at your body, you were curled up in a small clutching onto the sheets and he smiled.
"We should get going, paperwork to report and all that," Minho mumbled grabbing a hoodie from your wardrobe as he turned to leave.
The morning you woke up images of what had happened flashed before you and if it hadn't been for the achiness between your thighs. You would have thought it a dream and yet, you were laying there in a shirt that wasn't yours and a note beside your bed,
Until next time Curious Kitten x
Written at the bottom of the note were two numbers with the boy's initials by the side of them, you clutched the note against your chest as you laid back. Enjoying the memories of the night before.

You and Ashley have been friends for four years now. You went through a lot of hardships together, especially when Ashley had an unplanned pregnancy in the last year of college. Luckily, Mason, now her husband, is an amazing person, and even though it was hard, she was able to graduate. You loved her baby, Arthur, so much, like it was your little brother. You knew that their anniversary was getting closer and you wanted to surprise her.
"No way, I cannot ask you for something like that."
"You're not asking, I'm offering. Besides, you know I love spending time with Arthur," you said, holding your phone with one hand while you tried to wash the dishes you used to eat dinner with the other.
"I don't know Y/N..."
"Girl, just stop. I'm not taking a no for an answer. Spending quality time with your husband is important and I know that you have been not getting laid lately."
"You have no idea how hard it is to have sex with a one-year-old making a mess everywhere." You both laughed.
"I'll go to your house tomorrow at 7 pm. Get a reservation at a nice restaurant, get shaved and, wear your best dress. I want you and Mason to have a good time together."
"Okay, but only because it is our anniversary. I'm gonna take this as a present." Ashley sighed, knowing that she had to say yes anyway.
"Because it is, Ashley. I'll see you tomorrow, bye."
"Bye, honey."
You finished your shores and were planning on watching some videos on youtube when you heard your phone buzzing. You picked it up and saw that you had a message.
Felix, 8:45 pm: Hey
Felix, 8:45 pm: Sorry for messaging late but, are you free tomorrow?
You chuckled. Almost 9 pm wasn't late.
Y/N, 8:46 pm: Sorry, I'm going to my friend's house after work.
Y/N, 8:47 pm: I'm going to babysit her baby so she can go have dinner with her husband.
You met Felix at work, during lunch. He was new there and you have seen him sometimes walking around the place, but you never talked to him. Until one day when he dropped his coffee on you. You remembered how embarrassed he was, his cheeks were red and he profusely apologized. Ever since, you had some small talk with him here and there until one day you gave him his number, saying that he could message you if he needed help with something from work. You know it was bullshit since he was from a different department, but still, you needed an excuse to talk to him. He messaged you a few times but eventually, you thought it was a lost cause.
Y/N, 8:57 pm: Why do you ask?
Felix, 9:00 pm: Nothing.
Felix, 9:01 pm: It's silly.
Y/N, 9:03 pm: If it was that silly, you wouldn't have messaged me.
Y/N, 9:03 pm: Spit it out.
Felix, 9:12 pm: There's a convention for Star Wars fans tomorrow. You said that you loved the movies one time so I bought tickets for you.
Y/N, 9:14 pm: Why didn't you tell me before?
Felix, 9:15 pm: I didn't know if you would want to go. But it's okay, don't worry about it.
You thought for a moment. You really wanted to spend time with him. Felix was so sweet, respectful and kind. He was also very, very handsome.
Y/N, 9:30 pm: Do you wanna come to my friend's house tomorrow with me?
You looked at your phone five minutes later and saw that Felix visualized the message but didn't answer. "Congratulations, you fucked it up, Y/N," you said.
You sat on your couch and turned the tv on, planning on finally watching your favorite youtube videos, when you heard your phone buzzing again.
Felix, 9:50 pm: Sure, why not? Is it okay with your friend? She doesn't know me.
You sighed, happy that he answered.
Y/N, 9:51 pm: I'm gonna tell her but I'm pretty sure she'll be fine.
"Is he cute?" Ashley asked, putting on her earring. She looked gorgeous with a tight red dress that accentuated her curves and contrasted with her dark skin. Her curly hair was in a bun, leaving her neck and shoulders exposed. You knew Mason would love it.
"He is very cute. And he's so nice too. I only invited him over because he seems really sweet."
You went to Ashley's house one hour before she would leave for dinner so you could help her get ready, and by help, you meant to force her to wear something that wasn't a t-shirt and jeans.
"How do I look?" she turned around, facing you.
"Gorgeous as always."
Ashley hugged you tight. "Thank you so much, Y/N. You know you don't have to do this, right?"
"But I want to."
The bell rang.
"That's probably Felix," you said.
"Let's go downstairs, I wanna meet this boy."
When you went to the living room you saw Felix talking to Mason.
"Hello, I'm Ashley, nice to meet you."
"I'm Felix, nice to meet you too," Felix raised his hand so he could shake Ashley's hand but she gave him a light hug. You smiled, finding really cute how awkward he was.
"Arthur is sleeping now, he already ate, but if he wakes up, there's milk on the fridge. He usually sleeps all night so you don't have much to worry about."
"Okay, you guys have to go before you're late for dinner," you said, pulling Mason and Ashley towards the door.
"Call me if you need anything. We'll be back tomorrow morning so you'll don't have much trouble with him."
"Don't worry about it. You can take your time."
"Also, don't forg-"
"Baby, we have to go," Mason insisted, holding her hand and trying to get her inside of the car.
"Fine. Bye everyone, see you tomorrow."
You waved at them before going inside and closing the door.
"I'm gonna check on Arthur for a second, you can wait here, okay?" You told Felix.
"Sure."
You went upstairs and checked on Arthur's room. He was sleeping soundly. You felt the urge to lightly pinch his chubby little cute cheeks but you decided not to bother him. You went to the living room again and Felix was sitting on the couch.
"Are you hungry? We bought pizza."
"Uhm, not really."
"Are you sure?" you insisted.
"Okay, one slice would be good."
Felix got up and followed you to the kitchen.
"Your friend has a beautiful house," he said, admiring the place.
"She does. I mean, she's an architect and Mason is an engineer, so they were able to buy a nice place," you cut a piece and handed it to him.
"You said that you studied together."
"We went to the same college, but I graduated in graphic design. For obvious reasons, I don't make as much money as them," you laughed. "Did you always wanted to work in a publishing company?" Felix sat on the balcony standing in the middle of the kitchen. "Honestly, I just wanted to work with what I love. Graphic design is not something that people value but it is what makes me happy." You looked at him and Felix smiled at you, his dimple prominent on his face. He was so cute. "What about you?" "Oh, marketing is definitely not something I dreamed of working with. My family has a long line of people that have been working with it, so I barely had a choice,” Felix confessed. "Oh, yeah?" "Yeah." He looked thoughtful like his mind was somewhere else. "I actually wanted to work with art. I love painting." "Really? That's so cool. Do you have a picture of a painting to show me? I would love to see it." Felix hesitated for a while before he grabbed his phone and scrolled through his gallery. "Please don't think I'm weird," he said before showing you the picture. You raised your eyebrows when you saw what was on the screen of his phone. A beautiful painting of you. You realized that he used your profile picture on Facebook as a reference. "Felix, this is amazing." "It took me a week to finish it," he said, holding his hands behind his back, clearly feeling shy. "I love it, really." You and Felix finished eating. You talked more about your plans for the future, the things you wanted to do with your life, your dreams. You were sitting on the couch watching tv when you heard Arthur crying upstairs. "Ops, somebody woke up." You got up to go to his room and you noticed that Felix was following you. "You don't have to go if you don't want to." "It's fine, I wanna help you." When you entered the room, Arthur was up in his crib, deeply crying. "It's okay," you said in a soft tone, picking him up. "I think somebody needs to change its diaper," Felix said. "You are right," you laughed. "Let's change this little boy." You put Arthur on the changing mat and started to change him, but to be honest, you had no idea what you were doing. Felix laughed. "Let me help you." Felix quickly changed his diaper, he clearly knew what he was doing. "Woah, how do you know that?" you asked, looking at him dumbfounded. He laughed again, amused by your reaction. "I have a small brother so I have changed his diaper plenty of times." "Aaah, that explains a lot."
"Let's see if he wants to eat," Felix said, holding Arthur in his arms. You went to the kitchen and looked for the milk. After pouring it into a pan, you heated it up. "We need to make sure we don't overheat it so it won't burn the baby," Felix said while he tested the milk's temperature. You put it into a baby bottle and gave it to Arthur who promptly drank it. "I guess he was hungry," Felix chuckled. "Do you plan on having kids, Felix?" you looked at him, completely mesmerized by how good he was with kids. "Yes, I love kids. I plan on having two kids one day." "That's so cute, I'm sure you'll be an amazing dad." Felix smiled, making your heart skip a beat. "Do you want to have kids, Y/N?" he looked apprehensive. "Yeah, one day. I still need to find the right person." "Of course." Arthur went back to sleep again when he was done eating. "Not gonna lie, taking care of a baby can be tiring," claimed said, sitting on the couch. Felix sat next to you, his knee touching your leg. "Do you want to watch a movie?" you asked. "Sure!" Twenty minutes later, you started to sleep. Your head felt heavy until it fell on Felix's shoulder. He simply smiled, enjoying the feeling of you so close to him.
The sound of the bell ringing woke you up. You were laying on the couch, a blanket over your body. You looked around and Felix was sleeping on the smaller couch next to yours, with just a pillow under his head. You got up and answered the door. "Hey!" Ashley said, hugging you. "Hi. How was your night?" "It was amazing. Thank you so much, Y/N." Ashley went to the middle of the living room to drop her bag on the couch, Mason following behind. "How's Arthur? Did he behaved?" Mason asked. "Yeah, he slept almost all of the time." You rubbed your eyes, still feeling sleepy. Ashley turned around, seeing Felix sleeping on the couch. "You guys could have slept in the guest room," she laughed. "I'm gonna check on Arthur. What about some breakfast later?" Mason suggested. "That sounds great, but I think we should go home. Besides, you guys need to spend some family time with your baby." You woke Felix up, and while he was trying to get conscious, you chatted with Ashley about dinner. Mason went downstairs with Arthur and you chatted a little more before leaving. "Do you want me to take you home?" Felix asked, leaving Ashley's house by your side. "No, it's okay, I'll get an Uber." "Aw, come on. I'm not gonna let you leave on an Uber so early in the morning." You looked at him, admiring the freckles on his skin. His pink lips looked soft and you had to fight the urge to kiss him. "You know what, okay. I'll go with you." The drive to your house was silent, the music playing on the radio helped you to distract the thoughts on your head. The night you spent with Felix was amazing, seeing him being so sweet like that only made you even more attracted to him. Felix stopped in front of your house. "Well, we are here." "Do you want to come in?" "Oh... uhm, sure, yes, that would be great." You smiled and left the car, running to open the door for him. "Please don't mind the mess," you said, taking some clothes that were on the couch. "Don't worry about it." "Do you want to eat something?" "I'm fine, I'm still full because of the pizza from yesterday." "Okay." There was an awkward silence for a while and you realized you didn't think this through. Invite him over and what? "You know what? There's something I want to eat," Felix said. "Oh, okay. What do you want? I have bread, cereal, we can make panca-" "You." "What?" you looked at him, your eyes wide. "I w-want to eat you." Felix stuttered, his face showing that he was feeling too shy to be saying the words that left his mouth. "Oh, I'm... I-" you didn't have the chance to finish, Felix approached you and kissed you. You were still processing what was happening so you didn't kiss him back yet. Felix noticed and stopped kissing you. "I-I'm so sorry, Y/N, I shoul-" "No! It's okay. I just wasn't expecting." You kissed him, holding his face and tasting his lips. His left hand held the back of your head while the other held your waist. He bit your lower lip, his tongue entering your mouth and playing with yours. He pressed his body against yours and you felt his semi-hard dick. You whined, trying to control your breath. "Do you want to keep going?" Felix asked, his forehead resting against yours. You simply nodded. "Where's your room?" You grabbed his hand, guiding him to your room. Once you were inside, Felix slammed you against the door, pressing his body into yours. He started to grind his clothed cock on your heat and, this time, you couldn't hold your moans anymore. "Felix," was all you managed to say before he kissed you again. A messy kiss that screamed how much he was longing for you, how much he desired you. His hand grabbed your ass, pulling you closer as if it was even possible. "I wanna taste you," he said, taking you to the bed. You laid down and he wasted no time to take off your pants, pulling your panties with them in a swift movement. Soon enough, his tongue was exploring your wet lips, savoring the taste of your arousal. Felix played with your clit, his tongue sliding against the sensitive skin. You hoped that your neighbors had already left for work, otherwise you would end up waking them up because of your moans. Felix stopped eating you out to unbutton his shirt. "You have no idea how much I wanted to fuck you," he said, his voice deep, making you raise your hips, craving to be filled up. "Felix, please," you moaned. "You want me to fuck you, baby?" "Yes, please." It was embarrassing, you weren't used to begging. Most of the time that you had sex, you were always the one in control. But not with Felix. "Are you on the pill?" Felix asked, taking the rest of his clothes off and pumping his rock-hard cock. "Yeah, please fuck me." "Anything for you," he growled, sliding his dick into your dripping pussy. Felix already started an incessant pounding into you, stealing moans from your throat. "You are so fucking beautiful." You closed your eyes, feeling the burning on your stomach getting stronger. "Fuck, so fucking good, Y/N. You are taking me so well." "Please, don't s-stop." "Turn around, I wanna fuck you from behind." You didn't have much strength left, but Felix helped you out. He was inside of you again, hitting the right spots in this position. Felix felt your pussy tightening against his dick and he started to play with your clit. "Fuck, Felix, I'm gonna cum," you screamed, not being able to control yourself anymore. You came, a long moan leaving your mouth. "I'm gonna cum inside of your little pussy, I'm gonna fill you up so good." He didn't slow his pace, his hips hitting yours in a fast rhythm. "I'm gonna put a baby in your little cute belly, baby girl," he said, closing his eyes as his dick slid in and out of your pussy. "Fuck," you moaned. "You are gonna look so good, all swollen, f-fuck." A few lazy thrusts and Felix came inside of you. He kept thrusting on you for a while until you milked him out. He laid by your side, trying to catch his breath. Felix put his arm on his face, hiding it. He looked completely flustered. "I'm sorry, Y/N. It was way too soon for me to let out this embarrassing kinky stuff." "Felix, shut up. It was fucking hot," you smiled, turning around to hug him and rest your head on his chest. He played with your hair, the warmth of his skin making you fall asleep. But sleeping wasn't on Felix's plans. "Ready for round two?"

Can I request a Claude x reader x Sylvain fic with an s/o who acts coy but is actually scarily perceptive? Like they notice Sylvain's inner turmoil almost right away and they notice the echoes of Claude's trauma in being ostracized and alienated and their care manifests in extremely subtle ways. How would they react once they find out that they're pining for the same person?
I hope ya like this anon! Hoping that this is how you wanted it too. Golden Deer!reader for plot reasons.
Truth of your mask
(Yan!Sylvain x Perceptive!Reader x Yan!Claude)
You hummed as you walk through the halls of the academy to get to the dining hall. Everything was going normally, nothing much was happening other than getting a new teacher. A former mercenary no less. However you can't seem to read them at all. Not even when you try to talk to the new professor. No smile, no frown or pout. Just.....blank. Usually it was pretty easy considering how most people is full of expression, but your new teacher was like a blank canvas.
It interested you, truly. Perhaps you can continue to observe them and learn a thing or two. You sit down at one of the long dining tables to dig in into your favourite meal. You ate a bit slow considering there was no need to rush. You suddenly heard someone sitting right next to you and immediately knew who it is. "Is there something you need, Sylvain?" You asked as you blow softly on your food to cool it down. "Nothing just checking up on the most attractive person I know."
"Stop it Sylvain, there are lots of other attractive students here too you know....." As you pretended to blush and faced the opposite direction of him a bit. Now you may not be the best with close ranged combat and prefer to strike afar but you admit, you were quite good at intel gathering. Whether it's playing a shy role or feigning ignorance, you think you were quite the expert at it. "No need to be shy now babe, show me that beautiful eyes of yours." Sylvain was a tom fool to you, to think he would easily fall for this act is hilarious to you.
Slowly looking at him, you predicted that he would be wearing that same flirty grin that he always have talking with literally anyone he fancies in the academy. "I-uh....my eyes aren't exactly that extraordinary." You quickly averted back your eyes to your food. Eating it up a bit quicker now. You would have looked at him longer but everytime you do you felt something was off with him. You've seen him flirt around before. His expressions was all the same. It was a typical playboy face. It was different of course when he was alone. There were times when you catch him spending his time in solitary. That's when you notice the pain he has.
It looked like regret and weight of responsibilities. Doesn't help that he is the heir to House Gautier because of his crest. You approached him once, when it was raining, to talk to him a bit. Sure he was annoying at some times but letting him stand there looking so miserable didn't felt right. Of course this doesn't reveal your perceptiveness to him. To most it would look like he had a bad day but to you? You knew he was clinging onto something negative. Something he can't run from.
Ever since that day, he always seemed to make an effort to speak with you. Sometimes Felix or Prince Dimitri will berate him for disturbing a student from another class but there was no real harm, were there. Maybe he just want to make you one of his flings. At least that's what you thought until you see it in his eyes. It was not an usual flirty eyes. It was not lust or some kind of playboyish ones.
It looked like infatuation. Genuine infatuation.
That's when it hits you. It must have been something related to his past. Was he not loved by his family? Is this why he was seeking flings, hoping to finally find the one? Did he decided you were the one simply because you talked to him to ask if he was ok?
Perhaps you were wrong. There are times when your expertise was wrong. Rarely, yes but the chances are not zero. But for now, you will keep him at an arms' length. "Nonsense, your eyes shines brighter than the stars." You smiled sheepishly at him. Not knowing what to respond. He was about to talk more when suddenly a new yet familiar voice join. Your house leader, Claude.
"Well well if it isn't Mr.Smoothtalk, he's not bothering you right (Y/N)? What am I saying of course he is." Claude was like you, observant. But he only looks whats on the surface and not below. But who knows, he was quite eccentric. Maybe he does know you're feigning ignorance. Maybe he doesn't. But then again he would have talk to you about it. He's secretive but sometimes he will overshare his thoughts, ones that has no purposes anyway. You remember the day you enrolled here. Being a citizen of the Alliance automatically sorted you into Golden Deer. He was nice to you. Welcoming you and showing you around. In fact all of the Golden Deer was. Leonie might said something without thinking at times but she would apologise. Raphael was a gentle giant. Hilda was lazy but you reminded her of Marianne and that wanted to make her put in effort.
Claude was always all smiles and schemes. Even so, not even he was immume to you. When you spot him in the crowds of students it was clear as day. He felt isolated. Different. Foreign even. It intrigued you. Why would he felt out of place? Could it be tied to the fact he suddenly show up as the grandson to the leader of the Alliance? As curiosity plagued you, you made an effort to befriend him slowly. Pretending to have problems with class that you known he was good at and even picking up a bow sometimes seeing how his heirloom relic weapon was the bow Failnaught. He learns about you and vice versa. One of his simple mistake was when he invited you for tea.
He served you Almyran tea. He asked what you think of the tea and you just said tea was tea. Just like how people are people. The blend is different but in the end, it's just another beverage. He seemed delighted at your answer and you were delighted at his actions. He was Almyran or half-Almyran. It make sense seeing how Lady Tiana eloped a long time ago. Even after years, people talked about it. You decided to keep it a secret. You didn't really care about his heritage. What only matters to you was bringing back the cat that was killed by curiosity with satisfication.
Oh however. He too, had the same look upon his face. The same as Sylvain's. No one notices it, only you did. From their expression to their subtle acts. How Sylvain's pick up lines sounds like him courting you instead of flirting. Claude subconscious favouritism over you. And it scared you, truly. What were they planning exactly? Does Sylvain needed someone to finally let out his trouble thoughts to? Did Claude wanted to see if he can become vulnerable around you and reveal his secret himself to you? What is their true motives?
"Oh? Hello to you to Mr. House Leader. No need to worry, I'm not bothering them too much." Claude sat to the vacant spot next to you. "Yeah I can see that. But talking to someone who is enjoying a hot meal isn't that nice you know." You continued eating as you ignore their bickering. At least neither of them would talk to you and instead hurled passive-agressive responses to each other. When you finally finished your meal, you stood up. "You're done already (Y/N)? I was hoping I could talk to you a bit but see you at Golden Deer I guess." It was clear as day that Claude specifically said to meet you in class as in a mockery to Sylvain. "U-uh, yeah....see you at class Claude..." With that you returned back to class.
Claude and Sylvain sat together in a tensed silence. But they knew why they were still sitting here. The still noisy atmosphere of the dining hall proved perfect to conceal their conversation. "(Y/N) huh? Not a bad taste but I'm afraid you can't have them." Claude chuckled at Sylvain's statement. "Can't have them? They're in my house. They're Golden Deer not Blue Lions. And you think you have a chance?" Sylvain gritted his teeth at him. "And so? That won't stop me." Claude just shooked his head at him. "Oh Sylvain, maybe if you didn't use all your brains for pick up lines you'd have a great chance. It's unfortunate we liked the same person." Claude smirked at him. He knew the day Sylvain kept pestering you that he was also lovestrucked like he was. But Claude thinks you don't deserve someone like Sylvain. While Sylvain thinks Claude is trying to take advantage over your 'meek' personality. Seeing how schemeful he is.
"Bring it on then, Riegan."
"Don't hold it against me when you lose, Gautier."

Changbin sat in the hallway outside the dorm, replaying what you had said to him. He had tried to tell you that he loved you, the words you had been waiting to hear from him, but yet you just blew him off? He understood that you were mad at him, he knew he fucked up and treated you like garbage and he wanted to apologize and make it up to you, but how could he possibly do that when you won't talk to him.
"You okay man?"
He turns his head to look beside him, seeing Felix standing there, concerned plastered on his face. "I don't know what to do." Changbin sighs, rubbing his face. He needed to win you back, he loved you, he couldn't lose you, especially not to Minho. "I need to get her to listen to me."
"Do you want my advice?" He asks.
Changbin nods his head.
"Then go to her." Felix says. "Show her you care about her. Put in effort and don't stop ever. Even if you end up winning her back, never make her feel like she is less than your entire world. You want her, then show her."
"You're right." Changbin exclaims. He stands up, rushing down the hallway, on his way to find you. "Thanks man!" He yells. "I owe you."
Felix rolls his eyes, opening the door back up only to see Minho standing there with his arms crossed. "That's almost the exact same advice you gave me." He glares.
"Hey." Felix laughs, putting his hands up. "I only asked if you guys wanted my advice, never said I wouldn't share it with others."
Minho rushes out the door, hoping to find you first. There was no way he was going to let Changbin make it right with you, not when he was so close to having you to himself.
**
"Beautiful?" You scoff. "Don't even try it, random, handsome man. I have enough boy problems." You groan, dropping your head into your palm.
"Do you wanna talk about it?" He asks, taking a sip of his beer. You perk up, turning your head to look at him.
"Actually?" You ask.
He eagerly nods his head. "Might be helpful to you to have some male advice." He suggests, shrugging his shoulders.
"Thank you kind stranger. Bartender, another round for me and my friend here." You order, scooting closer to Wooyoung. "So.." you begin, starting at your reluctant acceptance to the friends with benefits idea, your dates with Minho, the way Changbin treated you, the fighting, confessions up until now, sitting at the bar, getting drunk and spilling your disaster love life to a stranger.
"Sounds like they both have their flaws but they also both have good redeeming qualities. I think you need to think about who you're going to be happiest with, when I say boyfriend, who is the first one that comes to your mind?" He asks.
You smile at the question. Only one person came to mind at his question. But you were still unsure if that was the right choice. You needed time to think.
"Thank you." You say to Wooyoung, you genuinely appreciate the advice he has given you. And now you needed to make a choice. You knew you did. You knew who you should pick but you felt conflicted. Your heart was going to hurt one way or the other.
Minho or Changbin.
Changbin or Minho.
You felt so confused in the moment. You were drunk, you were tired and felt lonely.
With a sigh, you half smile at Wooyoung as you slide down from the bar stool, trudging your way back to the house with your head hung low. Maybe a good night's sleep would help. You drag your feet up the stairs, collapsing in your bed. You drift to sleep within seconds, dreaming about what your life would be like, had you never started your thing with Changbin, and nothing turned out how it did.
**
You wake up early the next morning, stretching your entire body, for the first time feeling like things were going to be okay. Yes this was only your second day here, but you knew this was going to be so good for you to be away from everyone and everything. You needed to just have fun with no worries, be yourself and carefree.
You were excited.
You got dressed in a pair of shorts and a tank top with your bathing suit underneath. You grab your purse and head downstairs, opening the front door to see someone standing there with their fist up to knock.
It took you mere seconds to recognize the man standing in front of you.
"Changbin?" You whisper. Your eyes must be deceiving you, there was no way he was standing in front of you at this moment.
"Hi." He says, looking up at you. His eyes were red and puffy, tears stained his cheeks.
"Are you okay?" You ask. You knew you shouldn't, you knew he didn't deserve your sympathy or concern.
But you still loved him.
You still cared for him.
"I miss you." He croaks, trying to hold back tears again. "I miss you and I love you and it's you. I need you. I want you. I know I fucked up, I know I treated you like shit." He sniffles. "I was scared and I know that's no excuse but I just need you to know that I'm in it for the long haul. Whatever you ask me to do, I'll do it. I'll wait for you if you need time, I'll go to counseling, I'll do whatever you want. Just please.. tell me you love me back. Tell me you want me." He pleads.
"I.." you pause. This wasn't how you wanted to do it. This wasn't how you wanted to tell one of them the news. You had everything planned out for when you got back, in a familiar setting and not here and now at the front door of the rented beach house. "Come in." You sigh, grabbing his hand and pulling him inside the house. You take him up the stairs and into your room, sitting him on the bed.
Changbin sits there with his head in his hands, sniffling as he waits for you to say something. Anything. He just wanted you to tell him it would be okay and you weren't going to leave him. You were all he wanted, but he understood if you decided you didn't want him.
"I love you." You whisper, waiting to see his reaction. His head jolts up, hoping you're not going to take it away now. "But.." you pause. His heart sinks again. "We need to take things slow." You finish.
"You're not joking?" He asks, his hands gripping the bed tightly.
"Why would I joke about this?" You ask. "I'm being serious. You're the one I have loved for so long. How could it be anyone other than you?"
Changbin stands up, wrapping his arms around you, holding you as closely as possible.
"So what does this mean exactly?" He asks.
"We don't sleep with anyone else, but we're seeing each other, taking things slow." You explain.
"I can do that. I would do anything for you." He says, tilting your chin up, to place a small kiss on your lips.
**
Over the next few days, you were in absolute heaven. Changbin was staying at the beach house with you and you honestly couldn't have been happier. He was sweet, attentive, passionate, loving and caring, he made you laugh constantly and made you feel like you were the only girl in the world.
You felt as though you whole-heartedly had made the right decision.
That night you were getting ready to head to a party with Changbin and Jessi. You had been invited through Jessi by Wooyoung, and you were excited to introduce Changbin to your new friend. You had really thought they would get along great and become friends. You were both so happy when you were on your way to the party. When you arrived you both got a drink and you and he made rounds, meeting new people, talking and laughing. As you were talking you felt a tap on your shoulder. You turn around and are met with the smile of Wooyoung.
"Hey!" You say excitedly, wrapping your arms around him for a hug. He tightly hugged you back, and as soon as you let go and looked at Changbin the energy he was giving off had completely changed. You tried to ignore it, but he was glaring at Wooyoung, his hands balled into fists as you talked to him. "This is Changbin." You smile, motioning to your boyfriend. Wooyoung extends his hand towards Changbin, who just looks at it and scoffs before walking away.
"I'm sorry." You mumble, taking off after him as he weaves through the crowd. You finally managed to grab onto him outside, turning him around to face you.
"What was that?" You ask. "That was so rude. What is wrong with you?"
"You. You're what's wrong with me." He spits. "Are you fucking him too? Fucking him and me, like you did with Minho?" He yells.
You step back, your hand over your heart as you look at him, shock and hurt plastered across your face.
"Are you kidding me?" You laugh. "After everything? Wooyoung and I are just friends. Like you and Hwasa." You say, rolling your eyes.
"Yeah, me and her are just friends." He says.
"See." You point out.
Changbin stands there with thoughts rushing through his head. "I fucked up." He whispers.
"Yeah you did." You spit, turning around and heading back to the beach house. Changbin follows, incessantly apologizing to you, begging you to just hear him out. But you would rather not hear him say anything, you were so mad at him.
How could he just accuse you like this, out of nowhere. You thought you were past all this bullshit. You chose him, what more did he want? Minho was in the past, you would always have a past with him and Changbin was just going to have to accept it.
You made your way to the beach house, your night now was ruined thanks to Changbin's jealousy. You stomped up the stairs to your room with Changbin trailing behind you, trying to get you to talk to him, to let him apologize but you wanted none of it. You slammed the door in his face, locking it from the inside as you laid down on the bed and cried. You could hear the faint knocks from Changbin on the other side. His pleading for you to open the door, but you didn't want to.
"I'm insecure." He yells through the door. "I'm worried that I'm not going to be good enough for you, or you're going to realize that you made a mistake and leave me. I know I need to work on it. I'm sorry Ayn. He was so handsome, I immediately felt so insecure and I lashed out." He finishes.
You unlock the door, facing the man that you chose. "I'm allowed to have male friends. And sometimes they might be attractive, but you desperately need to remember that what happened with me and Minho was when we were just friends. We weren't together. But now that we are, I would never cheat on you. Okay?" You say, stroking his cheek. He leans into your hand, kissing your palm before you pull him into the bedroom with you.
This was his last night here with you, and you didn't want to spend it fighting over some dumb words. So you spent it laying in his arms, talking about what the future held and where you saw yourselves, and wow were you so in love with this man.
Changbin left the next morning, while you stayed for the remainder of the vacation. You spent your time at the beach, drinking and having a blast with Jessi and Wooyoung. You didn't want it to end, but you were excited to get home to Changbin and see how your relationship was in a familiar setting.
You also knew you needed to talk to Minho, which wasn't going to be easy. You really did like him, but love will always outweigh like.
"I'm sorry." You whisper, as you sit next to Minho after breaking the news. "I just.." you pause with a sigh.
"I get it." He says. "I mean I'm not happy about it but you love who you love. I'm happy for you guys." He smiles.
"I really hope we can still be friends?" You ask.
"I'd like that." He says, standing up and walking towards his room. You walk to Changbin's room, crawling into bed with him, letting out a sigh of relief.
"How'd it go?" He asks, rubbing your head.
"Good. We're going to be friends. He looked so sad though." You sigh.
"He'll be okay." Changbin reassures you.
You knew he would be, but you still felt guilty for some reason. You tried to ignore it, but the weird, anxious feeling in your stomach never went away.
**
4 months.
That's how long it lasted until you and Changbin were in another fight.
"I don't like the way he looks at you." Changbin yells.
You had gone out for lunch with some coworkers and Changbin, introducing him to them and one of them happened to be a guy. According to Changbin he was eyeing you up, and practically fucking you with his eyes.
"We're friends. Remember, I'm allowed to have male friends. You're my boyfriend, not my keeper." You yell, rolling your eyes.
Changbin scoffs again, stepping back from you. "You're fucking him, aren't you?" He says, looking you up and down.
"I'm sorry, what?" You ask.
You could not do this again. Not this shit again.
"It's like fucking Minho all over again." He spits. "Fucking slut." He spits.
"Get the fuck out, Changbin. You need to calm the fuck down." You yell, pointing to the door.
His eyes turn soft seconds later, realizing what he had just said to you. But he doesn't say anything, he just storms out of your apartment, slamming the door behind him.
You plopped on your couch, laying your head down on the back of the couch as you take a deep breath. This was fucking stupid. You couldn't keep dealing with him and accusing you of fucking people because of what happened in the past when you were friends. This wasn't fair to you. It wasn't fair for him to be treating you like this, and the two of you needed to have a serious conversation and figure some stuff out.
Life was too short to be stuck in a relationship without any trust and it was very obvious Changbin had 0 trust in you.
A few hours later, you make your way to the dorm, ready and calm enough to talk to Changbin. He had been ignoring your phone calls, so you figured you'd just go and then he would have no choice but to talk to you.
"Hello?" You call out as you open the front door to the dorm, walking in, a bag of yours and Changbin's favorite snacks in your hand. It was quiet, it seemed as though no one was around.
"Changbin?" You call out.
Suddenly someone rushes out of a room, running over to you.
"Oh. Hey Minho." You smile.
He doesn't return the smile, but instead looks panicked.
"What are you doing here?" He asks, looking around.
"Changbin and I got into a fight.. I'm here to talk to him. Is he in his room?" You ask, trying to move past Minho to go to Changbin's room.
"I uh, you can't go in there." He whispers.
"What?" You laugh. "Why not?"
"Ayn.. you don't want to go in there." He says sternly.
"Minho, you're scaring me. What the hell are you talking about?" You ask, moving past him. You quickly walk to Changbin's room, placing your hand on his door knob.
"Ayn, don't." He calls out.
You turn the knob, pushing the door open. You see your boyfriend's back, naked and sweaty as he thrusts his cock into someone, making her moan loudly.
You drop the bag of snacks, catching his attention. He turns around, seeing your horrified face watching him cheat on you.
"Ayn.." he whispers, pulling out of her, covering himself on the bed.
The girl sits up, and suddenly everything makes sense. Your heart shatters into a million pieces.
Hwasa.
With tears filling in your eyes, you look between the two of them.
"Just friends, right?"

Post Grondor Field AM Analysis
I'm prefacing this by saying that I'm still not sure I can write a good analysis of this scene for two reasons:
1. I don't know what comes after, and
2. I'm very emotionally involved in what happened.
But I tried my best. One thing is for sure though, what happened in Grondor in AM was an incredibly significant turning point for AM and Dimitri and my thoughts and analysis on it will definitely expand as I keep writing about and playing the game.
Part of me is just so happy I got to see Dimitri's supports, have the inevitable turn around, and get to do things like tea and dinner time again that it's hard to be objective about this scene.
And by "this scene," I don't mean that actual fight at Grondor, but everything from Fleche's attack to Byleth's words in the rain later.
It wasn't all about Byleth . . .
Given how poignant Dimitri's character arc has been so far, I had a deep rooted fear player-pandering would ruin it. Byleth, as a concept, isn't bad, but too often the heaps of praise feel underserved and other things (like Claude's intelligence, Edelgard's relationships with everyone else) get ignored to make more room for player-pandering.
Thankfully this did not happen. Byleth, throughout the early chapters of AM's part 2, failed to reach Dimitri. And, honestly, seeing Byleth actually struggle for once has done wonders for how I view her character. Still, I worried that player-pandering-power, rather than something that felt earned, would cause the inevitable eye-opener for Dimitri.
But it wasn't just Byleth. Fleche's vengeance kicked everything off, what veered Dimitri away from his fate in other routes. He accepted his death at her hands, not bothering to defend himself. Rodrigue stepping in the way and his parting words forced Dimitri to confront things he'd ignored. Throughout AM so far, people have posed questions to Dimitri who refused to answer them because he didn't want to face what they asked. But Rodrigue dying for him, spending his final words telling Dimitri to live for himself - combined with Fleche's attack - forced Dimitri to confront things he avoided. It wasn't until after all of that when Byleth steps in.
And Byleth didn't "fix" him either. Dimitri's supports show a young man who's still very much struggling with his mental health, poor self-image, his previous actions, and wondering if he deserves not only to live for himself - but if he even deserves to live. Byleth didn't hand-wave Dimitri's problems away.
Everything about the scene is stronger because it didn't fall back on player-pandering, but more earned, realistic, and dramatic actions and consequences - including Byleth's involvement which felt far more earned than usual because of prior failure.
But I wish Dimitri's friends played a bigger role.
Not everything was perfect though. I wish we got a little more than we did from Dimitri's house mates - especially his childhood friends Sylvain, Ingrid, and extra special mention to Felix and especially, especially Dedue.
Throughout all of AM, none of the above mentioned characters feel utilized to their full potential. This isn't a problem exclusive to AM, and by all means it's far from the biggest offender, but given how close all the ties are in AM, it's felt when it's not there.
I still don't know what exactly I would've done with them. Maybe I'd need to make the game an actual novel to do it, and you can't forget how perma-death has historically held back games at times, limiting major moments to a select few "retreat" candidates.
Still, though, getting a bit more from Ingrid, Sylvain, Felix, and Dedue would've made the scene even more powerful.
I actually really liked the scene in the rain.
I haven't made it a secret that I dislike Byleth. Or maybe disliked is more accurate. Lately I've been rethinking my stance on Byleth, in part because I've heard from people who like her or found ways to make her work and from my own thinking about the game while planning future write ups.
I don't think it's Byleth I really dislike, but the player-pandering. Separating the two isn't easy, but it's easier since I've starting coming around to seeing Byleth as her own character.
There's been a few moments that made me care for Byleth, and this scene in the rain was one of them. Because she didn't just fix everything. She tried and failed for months to reason with Dimitri, and despite everything she never gave up on him or failed to keep offering her hand.
I'm not going to lie. I got all the bubbly, heartwarming, heartbreaking feels the writers wanted me to in this scene. Seeing Byleth reach for something and fail, and then finally, finally get through was rewarding in a way many of Byleth's prior accomplishments aren't because this one felt earned. And by God did she earn it.
Some people will likely disagree with that last point, but I disagree with them. She asked Dimitri hard-hitting questions, forcing him to come to unpleasant conclusions rather than trying to force him into anything. She kept Dimitri from veering to far off course, even at expense to herself when she killed Randolph. She saved Dimitri from Fleche when he refused to save himself. She quietly supported him, coaxing out the good she knew was still there and refused to give up on.
I'd never in a million years say someone in real life should put up with Dimitri's toxic behavior and verbal abuse, even considering his extreme trauma and aggravated mental illness. But seeing someone fuck up so badly still get forgiven, still get supported, still struggle but honestly change for the good, still get loved, start to accept and forgive himself through the power of love and forgiveness from others is very powerful, especially since media so often downplays those "softer" things as weakness in comparison to the "badassery" of ambition and stoicism. Using Byleth, who previously had little experience with feelings, who was encouraged to experience them in healthy ways by Dimitri, return the favor isn't really the worst choice.
It's cliche, but cliches aren't always bad.
The mentor dies. Redemption in the rain. Revenge against the protagonist's actions opens their eyes. Etc . . . This scene was chuck full of cliches, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
Tropes serve an important narrative purpose because a writer can rely on them to convey a message to the audience that either saves time or sets them up for something unexpected or even expected. Fire Emblem has always and will always be incredibly cliche and full of tropes. It loves tropes so much there's in-universe ones that make some unit or character discussions sound like a foreign language to people outside of or new to the fandom, talking about "Ests" and calling someone a "Camus."
What matters is if a story pulled something off well, not if it's terribly unique. A mentor dying is powerful because it forces the student to grow. Redemption in the rain is high symbolic of water washing things away + the somber atmosphere rain creates. Someone trying to get revenge against a character provides an eye-opening experience about the ripple effect of their actions. We see these things in fiction all the time because they work.
All the tropes worked like expected in this scene. Using images instead of cut scenes did make less of an impact, but more on that later.
Tl;dr: There's nothing unexpected or terribly unique about what happened. It was honestly painfully predictable, but that doesn't make it bad and is in a series that does this all of the time.
The voice acting carried because those images can't.
A major downside to this scene is that it used vague images instead of a cut scene. I get that budget and time were likely concerns, but many cut scenes from earlier in the game seem rather trivial. Did we really need that dance one? Really? I don't think so.
This was a hugely important, action heavy moment. Using one or two still images to convey everything that's happening and all those emotions, really makes it less than it could've been.
That said, the voice acting saves it. I've raved about how amazing Chris Hackeny is as Dimitri, so nothing new here. Rodrigue's and Fleche's VAs also did a fantastic job. No one oversold or undersold the emotions. Even without the cut scene, you felt what happened thanks to the skill of the actors. This scene would've been so much harder to engage with without them, if this was an older FE game where all you got was text. This is 100% one of the moments highly elevated by the decision to have a fully voiced game and choosing high caliber talent (let's not talk about Radiant Dawn's voice acting).
Questionable support timing.
One issue I had came right after the scene when I viewed Dimitri's supports. The nature of some - like his with Raphael and Alois - didn't quite line up with the character I saw in dialogue right after. I wish they staggered them a bit more or got picker about what you could get in part 1 or 2.
This isn't limited to Dimitri either. In the same support batch, I also got a Marianne B support where she still had no confidence or self-worth. And then like 10 minutes later I talk to her in the monastery and she mentions about how seeing all the death in Grondor made her value her life even more.
In the past, I've also received entirely valid opinions that Dorothea in part 2 is hard to understand because she's cherry and flirty in her supports, and morose and hates the war in her monastery stuff, making her seem inconsistent.
It's a bit jarring. It's not really an issue for characters who don't change much like Edelgard or Raphael, but even for characters with more subtle differences than Dimitri, Marianne, and Dorothea - like, say, Lorenz - you get a lot of weird stuff because of supports. I just think Dimitri's stands out because he's a main character with a really prominent, important turning point for his growth.

-Blue Book- (12)
Warnings: negative emotions like heartbreak, envy etc, alcohol, excessive consumption of alcohol, making out etc.
Wc: 6.1k
You shot awake, groaning as you clutched the bed sheets tightly. Fuck, that was a terrible nightmare. You pushed the sheets off you, your skin feeling clammy and your hands sweaty.
"Y/n? You okay?"
You turned to see Minho looking at you, his face covered in concern as he tentatively placed his hand on your arm, tilting his head.
"I'm fine..." You sighed and shook your head, sitting up straighter. "Really...it was just a bad dream." You mumbled, sliding out of the bed and glancing back at Minho with a reassuring smile.
"Oh. Okay...' He stood up as well, adjusting the sheets and tucking them back in.
"What do you want for breakfast?"
You sighed and looked at the clock on Minho’s wall, pressing your lips together. "It's almost lunchtime. We definitely slept in...I am hungry, though."
"Fine, call it brunch. Either way, it's food." He chuckled, heading out of the door as you followed him with a giggle.
Minho opened his fridge, glancing over at you. "Your phone was ringing at midnight, by the way. i was going to answer it but whoever it was gave up before I could pick up. I didn't want to wake you.” He said as he took out ingredients for omelettes, placing them on the counter.
"Oh...it was probably Felix. I didn't exactly tell him I was staying at your place."
"Ah, that explains it. Go, call him. I'll be done with this soon." he said, pointing to the currently empty pan.
You nodded and went back to the bedroom to grab your phone, heading to Minho's balcony as you dialled Felix’s number.
***
Felix was cleaning the dishes when he heard his phone ring. He looked over at the contact ID quickly, heaving a sigh of relief mixed with anger. He glanced at Chan before answering your call, putting you on speakerphone.
"Y/n! I was fucking worried sick! Chan told me you walked out without any explanation and then you didn't come back home, and-"
"Woah woah, chill. I'm at Minho's, I stayed the night."
"Oh..." Felix paused. He didn't miss the way Chan's already dull expression morphed into something even more sour at the mention of Minho’s name.
"I’m glad you're safe but...that still doesn't excuse what you did. You could have called. Instead, you let me worry."
You sighed, guiltily. "I know...that was a dick move. I’m sorry, Lixie."
Felix sighed reluctantly. "I accept your apology, Y/n...you know I can't stay mad at you when you call me that." He pinched his forehead, trying not to let affection overcome him.
You giggled. "I know. My sunshine boy~ You can never be angry for too long, huh?"
Felix fought off his smile, shaking his head. 'Yeah, enough of the buttering. You need to get back here soon, and help me with the decorations to show me you’re really sorry."
"Decorations?" You asked, confused as you heard Minho call out for you. Turning back around, you went back into the kitchen, grinning as you saw the buttery golden omelettes he'd placed on the plates.
"They look so fluffy..." you mouthed, as Felix replied. "Yeah, for the party." he explained. "It's Jisung's birthday today, I thought you knew? Don’t tell me you forgot! The party's at our place-"
"Oh! Fuck, I did forget about that, Lix- "
"It’s okay, just come home quick. Bring Minho if you’d like, we could definitely use the extra help."
You nodded. "Sure, I'll be there right after breakfast."
You shut down your phone, sitting down at the table and grabbing a fork, digging into the eggs. Minho looked up, swallowing before he spoke.
"Jisung’s birthday, huh? I can't believe you almost forgot. He's going to be very mad." Minho teased, waving his fork in the air at you and smirking.
"Too bad he'll never find out." You said smugly. "Right?"
"Right." Minho chuckled. "How are the eggs?"
"Amazing. Why are you and Felix such naturals at cooking? And then there's me, nearly burning down the kitchen the last time I tried."
"Hey, it’s not your fault. It was the oven’s. We needed to fix it anyway." He laughed, continuing to eat his food.
"I guess so."
There was a comfortable silence for a bit as Minho watched you eat what he’d cooked for you. He hummed, realizing how calm he felt around you. Your presence made him feel so safe and secure.
You seemed to really be enjoying what was on your plate. Moaning softly in appreciation, you took another bite, his cheeks flushing at the sound.
“This is...wow. Perfect.” You grinned up at him, chewing enthusiastically.
Minho wished he could cook for you every morning, for the rest of his life.
***
"You're finally here!" Felix shook his head, flinging the door open wide as he beckoned the two of you in.
As you entered, your eyes immediately spotted Chan standing on the couch, hanging up a ‘Happy Birthday’ banner onto the wall. You inhaled sharply, your heart already beginning to pound errantly at the sight.
"We already did a lot of it without you..." he sighed. You gasped as you looked around the room, which had been completely transformed. There were tiny star-shaped lanterns hung from the ceilings, and the couch had been moved to the side, to provide space to dance. The living room was much cleaner, a stark contrast from how it looked yesterday.
"I know, I'm so sorry. I just overslept. Last night was weird. At least my headache is gone." You admitted. You felt Chan glance at you at that, quickly looking away before you could return his look.
Chan swallowed. His heart had dropped when he saw you and Minho walk into the room, together. One could only presume you'd stayed the night at his place. He felt overcome with jealousy, his chest rising and falling as he breathed heavily, desperately trying to focus on the task at hand.
Envy. It was an emotion he had always been quite familiar with, unlike happiness. The person he was envious of had been and still was Minho. Minho, who he'd used to call his best friend.
First Miyoung, now you. Everything somehow circled back to him.
However, the jealousy he was feeling was a lot more profound this time. With Miyoung, there had been no illusions. Chan had been trying his best to win her over, but with no luck. Deep down, he’d known she was a lost cause.
With you, though...there was a time when he’d been almost sure you were the one, that you belonged to him...a time when he’d thought you were in love with him too.
It wasn't like Chan to dream. He wasn't one to believe in happily ever afters, really. They just weren’t realistic enough...
But, for a brief moment, you had made him want one.
Maybe that was why the bitter reveal had been all the more cruel... Minho, taking away what he considered his once more.
The thing was- Chan knew you were a human being. Not an object for him to claim. He wanted you to be happy...but would you be happy with Minho? He’d despised you back then. Chan still remembered the pure hatred that spewed out of Minho every time he talked about you. Had that been a ruse? Had he ever hated you? Or were you two secretly seeing each other the whole time, working together to undermine him and ruin the rest of his life?
Okay, so maybe that was a little far-fetched and absurd. Still...he didn’t know what to believe anymore.
Chan sighed and looked back at his banner, deciding to ignore the both of you.
You tore your eyes away from Chan. Looking back at Felix, you hummed and tucked your hands in your pockets, breathing in.
"So, what do you want us to do?"
"Hm, let's see...we've got decorations and catering left. Minho can help me cook and you-"
Your eyes widened. No way- Felix wouldn’t suggest you help Chan with the decorations, right? He knew better than to leave the two of you alone again.
You saw Chan freeze for a moment as well, although his back was turned away from you. Good to know he felt the same way.
Felix sensed the tension rising, quickly trying to salvage the situatiom. "Hm actually, Y/n... I think I’ll need your help with the food. Especially with the drink choices, you're always the best at that!" He turned to Minho, clapping his hands decidedly.
"You can help Chan with the decorations, Min."
Minho nodded after a moment of reluctance, grimacing as he went over to inspect the banner Chan was putting up. Felix took you to the kitchen as you heaved a sigh of relief, placing your hand on your chest. “That was a close call.”
He took out the menus he wanted you to pick from, as he watched your expression.
"Why'd you leave last night, anyway?" He muttered sadly, carefully inspecting your face.
You thought back on it. Why did you? Last night was kind of fuzzy in your mind, to be honest. You couldn’t even recall the final straw that had made you storm out of the house. It wasn’t like you to be this spontaneous.
"Chan was annoying me, and making my headache worse. So I left." You shrugged.
"...Right." Felix rolled his eyes. "Look, I didn't want to say anything at first, but you do realize we're all grown up now, right? It's time for us to put all that high school shit in the past. I know Chan did some pretty shitty things but is it really that hard to forgive him? Minho was terrible as well- maybe even worse, yet you forgave him." He pointed out.
"Minho spent years grovelling and apologizing for his behavior. So what if he was mean, he's changed! It's clear to see. With Chan, I'm not so sure. I can feel the hate he has for me practically rolling off him.” You stared at the floor, trying not to let those memories overtake you. “Besides...I thought I told you. Chan’s betrayal hurt more cause I genuinely thought he cared about me.” You mumbled.
“Then again, I was stupid and naïve, so I don’t really have anyone else to blame but myself."
"Chan doesn't hate you..."
"Really? I find that hard to believe." You raised an eyebrow. "If he’s a mature adult, I think he should come and try to talk to me about what he did. I'm not the one who did something wrong here, so I won't approach him. If he wants to apologize, he can."
You sighed as you pulled the menu over to yourself. "But, as long as he continues to be petty, you better believe I'll play his game."
Felix sighed and nodded. "You know what...sure. Whatever." He made a mental note to himself, deciding to talk to Chan later. He couldn’t bear to stand on the sidelines any longer. He had to do something.
"I'm staying at Minho’s until he leaves." You added, ripping Felix out of his thoughts. Humming, you examined the drinks menu he handed to you.
Felix shrugged, noting down the names of the drinks you circled. "Okay. Ooh, the old gang will all be here tonight!" He let himself smile, ignoring your icy demeanor. Looking up, he sighed as he noticed the scowl still present on your face. “Come on Y/n, lighten up! Let’s forget about Chan for a second, shall we? Forget about what he did to you. Forget about whether or not you want to forgive him. Just...treat him like you would any other normal person, okay?"
You groaned, standing up straight as you rubbed your forehead. Ugh, maybe you should listen to him. All these negative emotions were really exhausting, and you could definitely do without them.
"Sure...fine. I can do that...I think."
"Good girl.” He smiled proudly. “Now, let's do food..."
***
Minho and Chan hadn't said a word to each other for the past hour. They communicated mainly through grunts and hand gestures, as they decorated the space in silence.
Between the mutual hate and jealousy, there wasn’t much room for a good relationship between them anymore. They were virtually strangers, and honestly would prefer to keep it that way.
Chan kept glancing at Minho though, biting his lip. He inhaled, working up his courage to say something.
“So...how’s Y/n? Are you taking care of her?"
What kind of question was that? Minho frowned, nodding. "Uh...yeah?"
Chan nodded, biting his lip as he looked at the decorations again. "Cool." He hated the way his heart was filled with dull hatred, anger and pain. A mass of negative emotions had settled in him over the years, and they definitely weren’t going to budge any time soon.
However...when he’d seen Minho again, some of the anger had melted away, kind of. The man was no longer the same person he’d been back then. More confident, yet also more vulnerable...he strangely reminded him of you, before you'd shattered your rosy view on life and opted for a more practical outlook.
There was an awkward silence as they continued their work. Minho felt guilt slam against his ribs as he caught a glimpse of Chan's face.
He looked void of hope. Calm, yet not in a good way. The kind of calm that came from losing everything.
There was a tiny part of him that wanted to make it all better for Chan. Tell the truth to you, and come clean. After all, Chan was once his closest friend. The two practically grew up together. Minho recalled how he’d go over to Chan’s every day after school, playing video games in his basement and generally horsing around. He smiled to himself as the memories came back to him. Memories of helping him steal his dad’s Playboy magazine...consuming an unhealthy amount of energy drinks and crisps as they hung out, content in each other’s company.
But then, he thought about you. No. He just couldn't lose you to Chan. Besides, he wasn’t even completely sure if the truth would make you forgive Chan. Maybe it would just turn you against Minho.
Chan was handsome...he was kind, muscular, loving. He would have no problem finding someone.
Minho on the other hand...he'd never loved anyone the way he did you. The emotions were alien, and yet so exciting. It was confusing, really- he couldn’t tell if he liked these feelings or not.
It wasn’t like he was stripping Chan of his soulmate or anything. It just wasn't a big deal. Right?
Then why was there so much fucking guilt, heavily weighing down his heart? Why was it impossible to breathe?
**
Despite having been thrown together last minute, the party was admittedly going well. The rest of the boys came soon after you and Minho, helping Felix finish off the preparations and transform the space.
Jisung of course, true to his nature, came ‘fashionably late’, after the rest of the guests had already arrived. His grand entrance lacked the raining confetti he’d initially wanted, but it was still cool. After all, he should have known putting Hyunjin in charge of it was a bad idea.
By now, the party was in full swing. Jisung loved being the centre of attention, and that little fact was made increasingly evident with the way he was dancing in the middle of the living room, a pink feather boa thrown around his shoulders. There were drinks being passed around everywhere, people dancing and having fun in every corner. it reminded you of the few college parties you'd gone to.
College, safe to say, weren’t exactly the best years of your life. You didn't really have any friends, and Chan had been on your mind throughout it all. He was a barrier; blocking you from living your life as a normal person.
He sat in the back of your mind, a memory from high school that threatened to never leave you. To always stick with you, reminding you that you weren't worthy. You weren't deserving of his love...all you did was play the part of a tool, to help him get the girl he was really after. Was that really all you were good for?
It wasn’t Chan you were hung up on. The implications were what truly hurt. The thought that you wouldn’t ever be worth enough to anyone, the thought that love just didn’t exist for you.
You stood in the corner with Felix, sighing as you finished your third shot of the evening. Forget it. Focus on the party right now, the one you’re supposed to supervise.
Nodding your head to the beat, you looked over the crowd. "Damn, Changbin's a really good DJ. We saved so much money on that one..." You eyed a drunken party goer almost knocking over the vase on the table, wincing.
"This place is going to be a fucking mess by tonight, and I'm sure at least one thing will end up broken. It’s good we managed to save some money." You sighed, and Felix nodded. "Amen to that. It’ll be a nightmare to clean.'' Felix sighed, running his eyes over the floor which was already covered with a thin layer of trash.
Minho suddenly slid next to the two of you, swallowing the remnants of the clear liquid in his glass as he grabbed your arm. His words were already slurred, and he’d definitely had a lot more drinks than you.
"Don't worry, we'll all help clean up! What are we here for?”
“Hm, does that mean you guys will be staying here overnight?”
Your eyes widened slightly. No. Minho noticed your expression, humming thoughtfully before shaking his head.
“Can’t. My cats. They don’t like being alone for too long." He took your hand in his. "Y/n and I will be here early tomorrow morning to clean up."
You looked up at him thankfully, and then back at Felix. "Yeah."
He eyed the two of you, gaze flitting from one to the other. "Okay...sure.”
The music was way too loud, the floor and walls thrumming to the beat. The three of you relaxed against the wall, collectively watching as the man Hyunjin was dancing with whispered something in his ear, a cheeky smile gracing his face. The bedroom eyes were clear to see, even from here.
You frowned, narrowing your eyes at the sight. "Oh god, please tell me he's not going to-"
Hyunjin smirked, taking the man's hand and leading him off in the opposite direction, through the small crowd.
Your eyes widened. "I swear to god, if it’s my room they’re going to be fucking in, I’ll-"
Felix giggled as he patted your back sympathetically, Minho holding you back and chuckling. "Hey, hey- it's ok. I’m sure they won’t go all the way here, they’ll probably just make out in the bathroom and then go back to his place. Don’t worry."
You groaned and slumped in Minho’s hold. "I guess Hyunjin does know better."
Felix hummed in agreement, chortling. He looked over at the plates on the table that were gradually emptying, and sighed.
"Guys, wait here for a bit. Gotta refill those."
You nodded as Felix left for the kitchen, turning back to Minho. Sighing, you leaned against the wall as you looked around the room properly.
"You and Chan did a good job on the decorations."
"It was mostly him." Minho exhaled. You pressed your lips together, shrugging.
The room was dimly lit in a purple glow thanks to the lamp in the corner, as well as the plenty of stars that were hung from the ceilings. It was beautiful, and you were a little miffed that none of the guests were sober enough to truly appreciate it.
Jisung danced over to the two of you suddenly, shaking his neck and laughing loudly. "Hey you two!!” He wiggled his body to the music, grinning. “Come on guys, stop being wallflowers and come partaayyyy!"
You chuckled and shook your head. "I don't know about-"
Jisung pouted at you, coming really close to you and placing his hands on your shoulders. "Pleeeaaase? For the birthday boy?" he asked, his eyes big and puppy like, his lips formed into a pout.
You stared him down, but just couldn't resist as a smile broke out on your face. "Ugh, fine."
"Good girl!" Jisung exclaimed drunkenly as Minho smirked, chuckling to himself as Jisung took his hand as well as yours, leading the two of you into the crowd.
Jeongin was on the floor as well, surprisingly dancing up a storm as he grinned at you. Ah well. If Jeongin could, why not you? You might as well take advantage of the buzzing in your veins.
You immediately started dancing, moving your body to the beat and trying your best to look graceful and sexy. However, the alcohol was messing with your system, and it was difficult for you to coordinate your moments right.
Minho laughed fondly at your failed attempts. It was adorable, how you danced like a baby giraffe learning how to walk.
"Hey." He grabbed both of your arms, making you look at him. You looked into his eyes, a questioning look in them.
Minho inhaled. He almost forgot what he was going to say. Fuck that, he almost even forgot his own name. Did he have to feel like this every single time you so much as glanced at him?
"I'll help...this is how you dance." He moved behind you, pressing your back to his chest lightly. Your breathing turned shaky as he started guiding your movements carefully.
"See...like that. Got it?"
You nodded. "I think so..." You continued dancing, now looking a lot more sensual and less like a baby animal.
You got the hang of it soon enough. Minho was about to let go of you, but you held onto him before he could.
“Dance with mee.” You giggled, pouting up at him. He smiled down at you, inhaling.
“Okay~”
***
Chan watched from across the room as Minho and you danced, pressed to each other. He downed yet another shot, hoping the stinging alcohol would help him forget his worries and pain, at least just for a bit.
Fuck envy. It was definitely the worst of them all. Despite the anger he had towards you, all he wanted to do was march onto that dance floor and pull you away from Minho. He wanted to be the one dancing with you instead.
He was so...so unsatisfied. The alcohol melted away his inhibitions, and now his emotions were all over the place, even more so than before.
Unsatisfied. That was it. He wasn't able to be productive, wasn't doing anything with his life merely because of his unfinished business with you.
He knew he couldn’t blame you. You’d definitely come to know about the bet, probably why you’d left him. Although why Minho? God, the shock of seeing you two together that day was still fresh.
You were more than just a bet to him, and he wished you knew that. More than a blue book.
You were...you. You were the prettiest, sweetest, most talented girl he’d ever met.
You’d changed since the last time he saw you. More cynical. Rough, defensive. He didn't blame you. That...that was his fault. The reason why you were like that.
Despite that, he could still see traces of the old you. The you he’d fallen in love with. It had not gone anywhere, really. It was still inside you...somewhere.
Chan was starting to feel profound regret at the way he’d treated you. Was it stupid of him to think you’d still want him, after learning what he’d done to you?
Chan sat up as he watched Minho's hand slide around your stomach, pulling you closer to him.
Fuck, he almost wanted to throw up. He felt the anger course back into him, anger directed at you, at Minho, at his parents, everything.
That was it. He couldn't watch this, sitting in the corner drinking booze like some sort of pathetic idiot.
No, you had to get a taste of your own medicine.
Chan noticed the blonde in the crowd who had been eyeing him for ages. She was pretty enough, her features soft and smooth. On top of that, she was wearing possibly the shortest red dress he'd ever seen. Her fake tan was excessive, her cleavage abundant.
In other words, she was perfect. Perfect for him to use as he put his drunken plan into action.
Chan stood up, finishing off his drink and setting the glass down. He made his way into the crowd, sidling up to the blonde.
She smiled welcomingly, blinking up at him through her eyelashes. He grinned, glancing to the side as he moved closer to her.
Hm, you hadn't noticed yet. He had to step it up.
Placing his hands on her waist, he started moving her to the beat. Slowly he brought her closer to Minho and you, hoping that you would just look over for a second-
FInally! You noticed! A triumphant smirk formed on his face.
He wanted you to know that he didn’t need you. He wanted you to feel at least a little bit of the envy he was feeling. Again, it was the small victories that counted.
***
Your eyes wandered back to Minho, your throat feeling constricted as you tried your best to avoid the sight of Chan and the girl.
It was painful. So fucking painful.
You still haven’t moved on from him, as much as you would have liked to. Watching him dance with her was leaving a bad taste in your mouth, your throat going dry.
They were all over each other. Her hands were around his shoulders and his were on her waist, their lips dangerously close as the racy music filled the room.
You knew you were in a similar position with Minho at the moment, though. It was the alcohol blurring the lines, or you wouldn't be caught in such a compromising position with him, really.
Still. This was different...right?
Fuck it, you just wanted an excuse to be angry at him.
Chan somehow pulled the girl in closer, his hands slowly creeping down her waist and towards her ass. You swallowed and looked back at Minho before those hands could find their destination. Minho was looking at you with his eyebrow raised, his hands a little tighter on you.
"Everything okay, hm?"
"Kinda..."
"Are you sure?"
When you didn’t reply, Minho followed your gaze to Chan and the blonde, and then back to you. He put two and two together, sighing deeply.
"You deserve better, Y/n. You've got to move on." Minho swallowed.
Yes, you did deserve better. Better than Chan, and better than him. You deserved someone who didn't keep any secrets from you, someone who would never even think of manipulating you.
He despised himself for what he'd done. The way he behaved. As every second passed, the guilt grew. But how could he tell you? How could he even stand the chance of losing you?
It was his fault. Everything was his fault.
You noticed the sudden devastated expression on his face, frowning and cupping his cheeks to make him look at you.
"Minho...are you okay?"
"Mhm." Minho mumbled. "Uh...I need to go to the bathroom." His face was white as he let go of you swiftly, stumbling away as quickly as he could and disappearing in the crowd.
You watched as he left, puzzled. Fuck, now you were alone. Just great.
You groaned under your breath, feeling Chan's gaze on you. Turning around slightly, you tried to avoid him, but unfortunately your eyes had already moved of their own accord.
His lips were on her neck, her back turned to you. However, he was looking right at you, an intoxicated smirk creeping on his face as he ran his eyes over you, all alone in the middle of a dancing crowd.
Biting your lip, you clenched your fists. You turned around, wading through the sweaty, grinding bodies, and made your way to the kitchen. You needed some peace and quiet.
You filled up a glass of water, lifting it to your lips. The cool liquid ran down your throat, making you sigh in relief. It was so refreshing, a sharp contrast to the alcohol you’d been consuming all night.
You turned around, ready to go back into the room and find Minho when you slammed into a firm chest, blocking your exit.
Ugh. This couldn't be happening.
"Move."
"Shh.'' Chan shook his head, placing a finger under your chin and forcing you to look up at him. He caged you against the counter with his other arm, his eyes glazed over.
"Look. We both know- hic- that you and I have incomplete business-"
You groaned, pushing him away slightly. "You're drunk, Chan."
"I am not." He glared at you, placing his hand over his annoyingly broad chest, an offended look on his face. "Just a little tipsy, that's all..."
You cringed, looking past him at the crowd. Ugh, where was Minho? Where was Felix?
"Look at me..."
You looked back at Chan, inhaling sharply. "What do you want?"
Chan looked taken aback at your tone. He recovered slowly, stepping back and humming.
"I want…” He closed his eyes, sighing. “I want to know why you hate me." He said, his tone surprisingly even considering the amount of alcohol he’d knocked back.
"I- are you seriously asking me that question right now?" You asked incredulously. Seriously, how fucking dense could he be?
"I am, Y/n. answer me." His slurred voice turned into a growl as he leaned in close.
"I was nothing but nice to you, when no one else was...I loved you, I-"
You scoffed, interrupting him. "Oh wow, thank you so much.” You said sarcastically. “I think you and I both know all that was fake. You were fake, Chan- it didn't mean anything to you-"
Chan slammed his hand on the counter next to you, making you flinch.
"But it did! It fucking meant everything to me. It was the only thing that ever meant anything, and I'm sorry it had to happen the way it did, sorry I lost that damn boo-"
"A simple sorry is not going to make me forgive you." You shook your head. "Get off me, Chan."
"I don't want you to forgive me! For fuck's sakes, I just-" He breathed in, his voice turning soft as he ran a hand through his hair, his breathing shaky.
"I just want to know why you chose him over me. He- he was worse-"
"Huh?" His words were too slurred for you to recognize. "Look, Chan-"
"Shut up." Chan shook his head, leaning in further. For a second, he scanned your eyes with his.
Fuck, he couldn’t believe he was about to do this.
Inhaling softly, he smashed his lips against yours.
It took you by complete surprise. Your heart felt like it was exploding- like a million, elephant sized butterflies were threatening to burst out. Shit, his lips were so fucking soft.
Was this actually happening?
It was. Insistent, yet gentle...his lips were all you could focus on. It felt overwhelmingly real, nothing like a dream.
Warm. He’s so warm...
You resisted him for all of half a second, before melting into the kiss. Your hands snaked around his neck as he placed his under your thighs, lifting you up onto the counter. You were quickly getting yourself lost in him, the feeling of his lips on yours so familiar and yet so new.
"Can't- can't get enough of you, don't think I ever will-" He mumbled incoherently against your mouth, his grip on you tight as he pressed against you.
Your mind was completely blank. There was no pride or anger in your head anymore, just Chan Chan Chan. His plump lips, moving against yours so passionately and swallowing all your breaths. It was partly due to the alcohol, yes- but also all the tension. Years of wondering if this moment would happen again.
And now it was.
“Chan-” You whispered into the kiss, tears pricking at your eyes.
This was a bad idea, it really was- you shouldn't be kissing him back like this. You were supposed to be mad at him- you were supposed to prove to him that you'd moved on. That you wouldn't let anyone use you like that ever again.
And yet here you were, right back at square 1.
"Please, please..." he whispered, nipping at your already swollen lips with fervor as he dove right back in, caressing your back.
His heart was pounding, unable to believe you were actually in his arms. Shit, he knew this was such a terrible idea. And yet he couldn’t bring himself to stop.
It was wrong, he knew it. Even if he believed he loved you more than Minho ever could, it was still wrong. You weren't his, and he had to learn to accept that.
But...he needed one last kiss. One last kiss to let him know if you were a lost cause, or if you truly were meant to be his. He wanted to know. And so he deepened the kiss further, making you let out a small squeak that only made him want you more.
"Guys?"
Chan pulled away, dropping you to the floor quickly as soon as he heard Seungmin's voice.
Seungmin eyed the two of you, suspicion covering his face. You swallowed, subtly pulling down your skirt as you blinked, trying to adjust to the light that flooded your eyes. “Seung-”
Shit. Was that Minho, slumped against Seungmin’s body?
He looked between the two of you, sighing as he saw your eyes on Minho. Minho’s eyes were closed, his forehead covered in sweat and his body limp. You moved forward, quickly rushing over to his side. “What happened?”
"Found him in the bathroom. He threw up, was crying on the floor. He didn’t tell me why...I’m assuming he’s just way too drunk."
Minho looked up slowly, blinking and staring at you as he registered your face. "Y/n...." he stretched out an arm towards you, whining.
Seungmin groaned, Minho's weight clearly too much for him to support. "Y/n, please take him home. He needs rest. I'll explain to Jisung."
You couldn't look at Chan as you nodded. You carefully trained your stare on Minho as you went over to Seungmin, letting him transfer the man to you.
"Min...you okay?"
He shook his head, gasping as he tried to take oxygen in. His eyes travelled past you, landing on a very remorseful Chan, his face covered in embarrassment.
You bit your lip, stroking his hair. “I’ll get him to the car. Tell Felix we’re going home, okay?”
Seungmin nodded, heading back into the living room to find Felix after shooting a last glance at Chan.
You pressed down the urge to look back at him. Don’t do it, Y/n. You need to go home and re-evaluate your decision-making. Fuck, why didn’t you push him away?
You ignored the delightful tingling of your lips as you helped Minho out, most of the partiers completely oblivious as you dragged him out to the car, with a lot of difficulty.
You opened the passenger door with one hand, helping Minho in. He looked like he was on the verge of falling asleep, his mouth slightly open as he let out a soft snore. Chuckling to yourself, you patted his head before getting into the driver’s seat. You weren’t drunk enough to warrant calling a taxi, so you might as well save some money.
Tonight was...eventful, to say the least.
Minho cracked one eye open slowly, watching as you drove. His eyes were burning, his throat aching. He hated feeling like this, he really did. He wished he hadn’t gotten this drunk. The alcohol and his sudden overflow of emotions did not mix well, and had ultimately resulted in him bent over the toilet bowl.
There was only one way to get rid of this fucking guilt. Minho wasn’t quite sure yet if he could go through with it, though.
There was a lot of thinking to do.
***
Chan stood near the counter. He couldn’t bring himself to move, his eyes unfocused as he replayed the scenes over and over in his head.
He couldn’t believe he’d done that. The one thing he’d told himself not to do. Don’t fall for her again. You got your heart broken once, why are you so eager to let it happen once more?
Regret. It was on all three minds, tonight.

Andy: *He startled a he heard Sam's voice from the garden somewhere and looked around, spotting Penny and Sam sitting in the grass playing with a couple toys* Oh shit, I'm so fucking sorry! *he rushed towards Sam* I'm sorry I'm so late! Sam: Dad, relax *he smiled warmly* Andy: I fell asleep and no one bothered to wake me up, and now Penny was here for so long I'm so fucking sorry! I hope Adrian didn't- Sam: Dad *he smiled soft* You needed the sleep, Congo called several hours ago and offered to take her, Adrian said no. Andy: .......... *minor blue screen*
Sam: *He chuckled soft* It's fine dad
Andy: So he's alright? Where is he?
Sam: *He nodded further ahead in the garden and stuck an apple slice into Penny's mouth*
Andy: *He turned around and spotted Adrian tending to some of his vegetable plants*
Sam: I got her dad...
Andy: *He nodded in slow motion, barely hearing Sam, completely lost in the sight of Adrian so gently tending to HIS kids. He walked slowly towards him and wrapped his arms around his waist, planting a soft kiss on his back* I just realized I would like to take you on a date, as a thank you for helping with Penny...
Adrian: *He grunted soft* You don't have to, Andy... my help was for free
Andy: No, I know that, and this is my way to show you how much I appreciate it. Besides, when we first started... being... fuck buddies, you at a point told me, you couldn't remember when someone had last made love to you, or showed you some care... and I have thought about that a lot, and I really wanna give that to you
Adrian: *He sighed soft, clearly irritated by Andy's interruption of his garden work* You have
Andy: *He smiled soft and nudged his nose against Adrian's shoulder* .... I know... but I also know for the most part I tend to be a little wild... eager... all over the place...
Adrian: Dramatic?
Andy: *He chuckled hoarse* That too, yes!
Adrian: *He couldn't help but snort, then sighed soft as he wiggled free from Andy, gazing in Sam's direction, then back at Andy* Not in front of Sam, please...
Andy: *He frowned soft, and nodded slow* But.... it's just a crush, right?
Adrian: *He grabbed Andy's hand and dragged him around the house for privacy* Yeah... I think so... I don't think he would lie to me. But I also get he's very lonely and misses someone to feel close to... he misses a connection. Sam is not a single. Sam is someone who belongs in a serious relationship with someone he loves, and whom loves him. *He sighed deep* I think he's somewhat projecting that onto me *he shrugged lightly* We're close and kinda intimate
Andy: *He nodded soft* No I understand you
Adrian: *He sighed deep and grunted, clearly not too happy with the situation*
Andy: But you... don't have feelings for him, right?
Adrian: I love him like a brother, Andy, but I'm not attracted to him in a romantic way... he's handsome and all, and I do love his personality, but I even think the sex is more of a wolf thing, than an actual human attraction. I was never attracted to him before my wolf broke out.
Andy: *He snorted soft* Adrian you're not exactly attracted to humans to begin with
Adrian: *He lifted an eyebrow*
Andy: I mean, Felix is a shifter too, and
Adrian: *He lifted his brow even higher and looked rather intensely at Andy*
Andy: *He tilted his head slightly*
Adrian: ........
Andy:....... are you saying
Adrian: ........
Andy: You're attracted to me
Adrian: Well obviously
Andy: *He snorted soft* I mean before we
Adrian:..... yeah
Andy: *His jaw dropped*
Adrian: Charming as always *he smirked and lit a cig*
Andy: *A goofy chuckle escaped him* So I am the only human you... no Ben... how dumb
Adrian: That's a mate-bond thing... yes I was immediately attracted to him the first time I saw him, but.... you know how mate bonds work....
Andy: But you and I are also connected...
Adrian: Mh yeah, sure, but that didn't start tucking in me until after we... *he sighed deep* Look, I am trying to admit I was attracted to you for a while before we actually
Andy: *He grinned wide and attacked Adrian with a passionate kiss, bubbling with happiness and butterflies inside*
Adrian: *He moaned soft and irritated, but didn't protest*
Andy: Why did you never tell me? How long?! *He squealed at Adrian happily*
Adrian: *He shook his head annoyed and grunted* Not for too long... I suppose? I mean, I always knew you were handsome.... but.... I think I started being attracted to you... I don't know Andy? *a soft somewhat shy chuckle escaped him, and a tiny blushy tint colored his cheeks*
Andy: Oh-hoooo I think you do! *He laughed excited* your face totally gives you away!
Adrian: *He shook his head lightly and couldn't help but chuckle* This summer.... I think it was late July, you were having a pool party but had run out of beer so you drove to town to get beer after arguing with all your partners. You were pretty drunk, just wearing your wet swim trunks, and when you got out of your car, you could barely stand on your legs, falling over several empty beer cans and McDonalds paper. But somehow you managed to stand up, light a cig and grin cheekily at me, as you confidently walked past me... and you had this look in your eyes, like you wanted to swallow me whole, and I don't know.. that day it really got to me, and I wanted to grab you right there and then and throw you up against your own car
Andy: *his eyes was wide* Hoooooooly shit!
Adrian: *He took a drag of his cig* Yeah well
Andy: So... I'm getting this right? You're attracted to me when I'm a complete mess... not when I am all together and-
Adrian: I guess I'm attracted to that Andy too, now that we're closer... but yes... I suppose messy, drunk, irresponsible Andy was the side of you that got to me first... *he cleared his throat lightly* can wee uh stop now tho... I'm uh-
Andy: *He looked at Adrian questioning, then noticed Adrian's growing boner beneath his jeans, biting his lip soft* Fuck... if he wan't my son....
Adrian: *He grunted soft and spoke in a very deep voice* Talk about the date instead
Andy: *He snorted amused* Thought you didn't want to?
Adrian: I never said that, I just tried to explain you, you don't have to pay me to look after your daughter... I'm not a baby sitter
Andy: How about I take you on a date, and pay you with dick later *he smirked*
Adrian: *He glared soft at Andy* I guess I take payment after all.
Andy: I still get so fucking surprised how naughty you can be some-
Adrian: Andy! *He growled low* Not now!
Andy: *He chuckled hoarse* Okay okay! So date night?
Adrian: *He nodded soft* I have a meeting with a client in a couple of hours in town, we can meet up after that if you want?
Andy: And the moon?
Adrian: Sam says it should be alright for tonight
Andy: You sure? *He smiled soft*
Adrian: Yes it's still overcast and it doesn't seem like it's going to change any time soon*
Andy: *He nodded soft* Hooray for bad weather!
Adrian: *He shook his head lightly and took a drag*
Andy: Alright, I'll go pick up my daughter and find a baby sitter for the night in case Spar- *he froze for a couple seconds* Fuck!!!! I completely forgot about Sparkle and Raven!!!
Adrian: There's no news yet as far as we have heard. Eonan has agreed to keep Sam posted as well, since we got stuck with Penny *he squinted his eyes teasingly at Andy*
Andy: *He shook his head lightly* I swear you're gonna get so much dick!
Adrian: *He glared at Andy with longing eyes, and leaned close to him, whispering against Andy's lips* Shut up!
*Suddenly loud voices from the other side of the garden interrupted them*
Adrian: Fuck! *he quickly rushed in the direction of the sounds*
Andy: *As a reflex he quickly followed*
Felix: *He noticed them both right away as they came around the house* Fabulous! *He spread his arms dramatically to the sides* So you're all playing one big happy family by now?!
Andy: *He frowned instantly* It's a difficult situation! You know Sparkle is missing!
Felix: Well that doesn't mean you should start-
Adrian: I believe this is my house and property, as such it is up to me to decide what people should and shouldn't do here.
Felix: *He glared angrily at Adrian*
Andy: *He looked at Sam in a certain way*
Sam: Felix *he stood up slow, grabbing Penny and bounced her soft on his arm* how about you and I-
Felix: *He tilted his head as he looked at Sam* You're in love with him *he pointed at Adrian* Oh this is fucking great! So you're getting fucked by the both of them? *He hissed at Adrian*
Adrian: I don't see how that's any of your business? We're not together any longer *he grunted irritated* please leave
Felix: I'm not fucking going anywhere! I need to talk to you!
Adrian: No. *He shook his head lightly* We have nothing left to talk about.
Felix: Oh yes we have! You fucking bet we have!! *he yelled angry*
Andy: Felix maybe you should
Felix: MAYBE I SHOULD FUCKING WHAT ANDY?!?! *he charged at Andy, ready to punch him*
Sam: FELIX!!! *He shielded Penny's face* There's a baby here!!!
Adrian: Get her inside *he spoke loud and firm to Sam*
Felix: I'M GONNA FUCKING KILL YOU!!! *His fist only raised higher*
*In the middle of the storm that had brewed in the garden, no one had noticed two boys stumbling through a temporary portal*
Pete: Wo-ho-ho-ho-hooooooow *his big wide eyes grew wider than his surprised and slightly awkward grin* Felix my man! *he was quick, and rather gullible to jump between the two of them*
Felix: *He hissed as he starred directly at Pete's face, rather than Andy's* Get the fuck out of my way, Pete! *he frowned questioning as he heard himself use that name*
Pete: Eh-hemmmmm *he chuckled nervous and duck his head slightly like a scolded dog* I would really like to get out of your way, but I can't till you lower that fist! *he squinted his eyes hard, anticipating the fist to hit him any second*
Adrian: Felix!
Felix: ........ *anger building*
Pete: *Anticipating death* Felix: GET OUT OF MY WAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!! Pete: *Hears the sound of the fist coming flying through the air* Ben: PETE!!!!!!!!!!! Andy: NO!!!!!!! *He held a hand up, catching Felix's fist, a loud slam echoing through the garden* AAAAAANGGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!! *He groaned loud and fierce, as his hand caught fire and he in slow motion pushed Felix backwards, away from Pete* Felix: *He whimpered from pain and got on his knees, shielding his burned hand* Was that fucking necessary?! You don't even like him!!! Andy: Who the fuck ever said that?!? Did anyone ever hear me say I don't like him??? No!!!! *He looked at Pete with a soft frown* You alright? Pete: *He nodded in slow motion, pointing at Andy's fist which was still on fire* Uhmm Andy: *He shook his head, then shook his hand and the fire was gone* I'm fine! *He sighed hard and looked back at Felix* Go ruin your own life for a change! Adrian: *He wanted to break in and tell Andy he was being too harsh, but all he could think about was how right he was at the same time.* Andy: Leave or I call your dad. You were just about to use your powers against an innocent immortal human Pete: Well technically the McKinney's made me immort- Andy: Not now Pete! *He groaned between his teeth* Pete: *He squeezed his lips tight, making a movement with his hands as if he zipped his lips* Andy: *He glared at Felix, pointing towards the big gate* And don't fucking come back unless you are invited! Felix: *He looked at Adrian with puppy eyes, but as no one stepped in to defend him, he quickly got up and ran out the gate* Andy: *He closed his eyes and shook his head* Fuck! Adrian: *He quickly walked to Ben, hugging him tight* Are you alright? Ben: *He nodded eager* Yeah, sure! Adrian: *He groaned deep and relieved, hugging Ben even tighter, so relieved to finally see him again* Andy: *He sighed deep and looked at Pete* Are you okay? Pete: *He grinned wide and awkwardly nodded slow* Ehehehehehehehe Andy: *He snorted soft* Right... beer? Pete: *He nodded eagerly* Andy: Follow me, I need to check on Sam and Penny anyway...

"So.. you are not allowed to use cellphones because it attracts deadly monsters?"
"Yes," you snicker at Zeus, "No thanks to you, dad."
Zeus - the king of all gods on Mount Olympus, the god of sky and lightning - sits on the couch beside you in a simple striped shirt and loose baggy jeans, his long hair tied in a braid. He doesn't look anything like a Greek God or a king, he doesn't look grand or royal or powerful. He sits on your couch with his legs crossed, back slouched - like a normal father of a normal twenty one year old.
He rolls his eyes at you, "Yeah, yeah, blame it on your poor, old dad. " he's immortal, by the way.
You grab a cookie from the plate your mom had put on the coffee table before driving to work. You're kind of glad she's not here to see Zeus - your mom and Zeus didn't exactly part on good terms. Of all the times you'd met your father, she's not been there to witness any of it, fortunately.
"What do you want, dad? I'm sure you're not here to eat cookies and talk about mortal technology with me. "
Zeus nods, sighing. The distressed expression clawing it's way back to his face. "When are you going back to the camp?" He asks.
"I was about to leave before you decided to show up. "
"And with who exactly?"
"Oh, with Minho."
Zeus runs his fingers through his flowing beard, "The Dionysus kid?"
You nod - yes, Minho's father is the Greek God of Wine and fertility but your friend's never been much too proud of it. So you know better than to add to his insecurities, even behind his back.
"Dad, can you please tell me what you're here for?" You insist, now slightly annoyed.
"Ah, fine, fine," he nods, frowning like a little kid, "I actually need your help, y/n. I cannot ask this of anyone but my own child, which is why I have come here."
It's normal for God's to let their demigod children do the bidding on their behalf - it's nothing surprising or new, but you're taken aback since you're father has never asked you to do anything for him before.
Before you can reply, he continues, "It's Poseidon, y/n. He's...He's been sick."
Poseidon? Sick? Isn't he an immortal God? How could he ever fall sick!
"He can just drink some nectar and ambrosia and he'll be as good as new, dad." You deadpan.
"No, not this time. Poseidon's trident is lost. Someone stole it, apparently. And the trident holds in all his power. He's weak without it, and with him gone it's hard to control what goes on in the Oceans. The monsters and demons and even the Nymphs are out of control. "
"I would be very grateful if you could do something about it, y/n. Tell your camp director about it and go on a quest with your demigod friends. Find the trident, please. We need it back or else the mortals as well as the demigods will not be safe anymore. "
As if they'd ever been, "Okay, fine..I'll put in a word at camp."
Just before Zeus speaks again, you hear the loud honk of a car outside your house. Minho.
"I have to go now, " you quickly grab your bags, "And dad?"
He stops munching on the cookies to look at you. "Please clean this place up and go back before mom comes home."
He winks at you as you close the door behind you, jogging to Minho's old Hyundai that stands near the side of the street.
He waves at you enthusiastically and you almost feel bad for your friend.
Oh, Minho, you’re not going to be happy with the news I have.
*
Halfway into the drive, you realise that you're not the only who has news - Minho too had information to share - more like rantings, but you liked to classify them as information.
"I fought with my parents again. " he sighs, his eyes focused on the road ahead, "They don't want me going back to camp every year. It scares them, y/n, can you believe it!"
Minho - unlike you - had never met his birth mother. He was adopted right from the hospital. Sadly, Dionysus visits him more often than he wishes he would.
"They're just worried because you keep getting yourself in trouble there. Try to keep calm, you'll do just fine." You mutter, shaking your leg, your mind running through numerous possibilities as to how you can break Poseidon's news to Minho.
"Well that's not all. So I fought with them and came to camp a month earlier. While I was out with the annoying Satyr, scouting for demigods, I found three more washed up on the shore of the beach where we first met you. They'd been attacked apparently, and we brought them to the camp and guess what, the youngest one is as old as you are! It's so fascinating for once to not have to deal with unruly teenagers."
You scoff, "First of all, the annoying Satyr has a name. He is called Eden. And second of all, how is it possible for demigods our age to make it this long without living behind a protective barrier?"
Minho shrugs, taking a sharp right to the road that leads home to Camp Levanter. "Beats me, y/n. They must have lived like nomads without anyone to protect them from the monsters, but I'm glad we found them. You'll like them too. The other boys love them."
You nod, not giving too much thought to a bunch of new demigods. You've been with demigods all your life so there's nothing to worry about. What you are worried about is Poseidon and his lost trident, because no matter what, this new development does put all mortals and half-bloods at risk.
"Um, Minho?" You start, playing with hem of your checkered shirt, "I might actually know why the new demigods were attacked by a sea monster- "
However before you can speak out the next word, your eyes land on a huge blue wave of water, as tall as a ten floored building, engulfing everything within it's vicinity. You see mortals run in alarm, screaming and crying. The cars rush away, trying to escape to a safer place. The earth vibrates beneath you, as if to warn about an approaching danger.
"What the hell is that!"
"It's a sea monster... a Cetus."
Minho slams on the accelerator, speeding away from the approaching sea monster. The camp is only a two minute drive from the highway you are on so if the Gods are kind enough, the both of you might just make it before the monster catches your scent.
And if it does, then Minho and you are as good as dead.
"Can you see it, y/n?" Minho asks you in an urgent voice, his eyes fixed on the road ahead of him, "Do you think you could create lightning and kill that thing?"
You make the mistake of looking behind you, because as soon as you turn around, you see a gigantic dragon- like creature chasing close behind your car, baring it's fangs. Your blood turns cold.
"Minho, drive faster! I think it has smelt us!" You yell in panic, "We're not enough to defeat a sea monster; even with your vine growing power and my electrokinesis."
Minho does as he is told, driving the car faster than the mortals do in their stupid car races, his hands tightly gripping the handle and handsome features twisted in agony.
You roll down the window and glance outside, estimating how much time you have to summon lightning before the monster catches upto your car.
Sucking in a deep breath, you pray to your father for help and thrust out your hand towards the sky, and see small electrical impulses begin at your fingertips. Rolling the window further down so as to be able to aim the lightning directly at the monster, you concentrate all your energy into your right hand.
The lightning may not kill it, but it’ll surely slow it down.
Electric sparks cover your entire arm like it were some kind of jewelry.
A deep breath, and you release.
“Its hurt,” you whisper as the monster stops on its tracks, its googly eyes closing as if in immense pain and in a spilt second, they open and stare right at you. The monster is angry. At you.
“Shit! Shit! Y/n!” Minho panics.
"Keep driving." You reassure Minho, "I'll slow it down."
You see dirty green scales of the monster when you glance at the rear view mirror and your immediate reaction is to grab your bow and arrows from the backseat of the car.
Minho nods and you position yourself such that only your arrow is pointed directly at the monster's direction while you squint one eye and careful peek out without showing too much of your face. Monsters have very good memory.
The monster hisses, his long, red tongue rolling out of his mouth as if in annoyance. The mortals do not bother coming in between your car and the Cetus - all thanks to the Mist.
The Mist creates an illusion that hides any supernatural beings like monsters or titans or giants from the mortal's sight so it is safe to believe that the mortals are perceiving the Cetus as something as simple as a huge storm.
"It's coming closer." You warn Minho.
"I can't go faster than this! Has no one from the camp received any news of a sea monster coming out of the water and roaming out in the streets yet?" He yells back.
You stretch the bow string, the arrow aimed right between the monster's two hideous eyes.
"Stop! Y/n!" Minho suddenly says, slowing down a bit, staring at the rear view mirror, "There's something on the monster's head."
His words seem to fade away in the background as you see the monster's tail - resembling that of a fish - flying up behind him, and then thrashing hard against the concrete road. The ground shakes.
"I'm shooting." you mutter, "It's going to kill us all!"
"Y/n, no - don't."
"What! Why?"
You loosen the string and pull back the arrow, trusting Minho's judgement better than yours.
"Just trust me, okay?" Minho mutters, slowly pulling up by the sidewalk.
Propping yourself up on your elbows, you quickly glance out the window.
"What the.."
You catch sight of a blonde man, probably only as tall as Minho, standing on top of the monster's head and thrusting his shining bronze sword right into the Monster's forehead.
The man looks in your direction, as if he’s known you all along and nods, with what you perceive to be a smile on his lips.
"Shoot now, y/n." Minho says from beside you.
You immediately act on it, stretching the string tighter, the arrow pointed at the ugly monster that now cries desperately. You let go of the string and the arrow cuts through the air and stabs the Cetus right at his neck.
A loud, thundering wail leaves it's mouth and then it disappears into millions of dust particles, on it's way to the depths of Tartarus ; the underground prison of all monsters.
"That's Felix, y/n." Minho says, unlocking the doors with a slight grin on his face. He looks proud. "He's one of the new demigods at the camp."
The said man quickly jogs up to your car, panting and huffing, and knocks at your window.
"Hey, can I have a ride back home, Minho?" He smiles, "And you must be y/n, right?"
And you sink back into your seat as you see his entire form up close.
Beautiful. Ethereal. And every other synonym of those words in the English dictionary fall weak if it ever comes to describing the man standing in front of you.
You don't even need to ask who his godly parent is because you already know now - Aphrodite, goddess of love, lust and beauty.

Dahlia
Pairing: Hwang Hyunjin x gn! reader
Genre: angst; hanahaki au, non idol au
Warning: language, mentions of cheating, tiny tiny spoilers & allusions to some of my other fics if you squint hard enough. Some elements of Felix x reader (purely platonic tho)
Note: this does NOT portray Stray Kids’ true personalities. This is all purely FICTIONAL
*this is one of my longest fics i’ve ever written so sit back, relax, and enjoy the show.
(Based off of (G) i-dle’s “Dahlia)
(Page II)
Dahlia:
“Signifies a lasting bond and commitment between two people;
symbolizes elegance, inner strength , change, and dignity...”
Hwang Hyunjin is bad news.
He’s a player, he’ll leave once he gets bored of you.
Hwang is no good for you. You deserve so much better, Y/n.
That was all you heard ever since you started dating Hyunjin. Different variations of it, all with the same connotation. People warned you, left and right, whenever they saw you two together. But you didn’t care, you choose to love him anyways, despite the rumors you’ve heard about him. It was all...
...Blind love. Sure, you fall in love fast, and every single time, you’ve been cheated on; but you knew that he was different, you could feel it. You had faith in Hyunjin.
Today was your one year anniversary. You sighed at the calendar hanging on your wall, a vase with a single dahila (given by Hyunjin a few weeks ago) sat on a table beside it.
“Did you know back then, lovers used to gift their beloved dahlias as a sign of everlasting love and commitment?” Hyunjin said with a pretty smile, holding a bouquet of a dozen dahlias.
“Oh really now?” you giggled, taking the bouquet into your hands. “Are you trying to tell me something?” You tilted your head, your eyebrows raised playfully.
“Hmm. Only that I want to spend the rest of my life with you,” he cheekily said. “And that I will love you, and only you, even for the our next 100 lifetimes.”
You writhed in giddiness, touched by his words. “I can’t wait then,” you said, planting a soft kiss onto his plump lips, the two of you smiling into the kiss.
That was a year ago; 3 months into your relationship, probably the happiest year you’ve ever had. Every day with Hyunjin felt magical, like it was too good to be true. He was nothing but gentle with you. He held your hand as if you were glass. His eyes stared into yours as if you had the shiniest of diamonds for eyes. His beautiful smile always made your heart flutter, but his kisses was what really did the job. You thought that you could never had enough of him. You were his princess and he’s your prince charming.
But little did you know that the magic will soon wear off...
You stared at your phone in sheer disappointment.
Sorry, I can’t make it today. Something really important came up and I can’t miss it.
-was what was written on your screen, sent by your boyfriend. Bringing the phone closer to your face, you replied.
Really? You can’t skip it? Or even do it later?
Nope. Sorry, babe. There’s nothing I can do.
Oh...okay then.
Cheer up, babe. We’ll just go on a date on another day! I’ll make it up to you. Promise! :)
‘Go on a date on another day’ For some reason, reading that message shot a pang of hurt through your chest. To you, it basically implied that today was supposed to be just ‘another date’ for you guys.
Did he...forget that it’s our one year today? you thought sadly at the possibility as you put your phone down. Shaking your head, you tried to erase the negative thoughts from your mind. No no no, Hyunjin wouldn’t have forgotten. He was the one who even arranged the date! You held your cheeks in your hands. Sighing, you stood up to leave your bedroom to get a glass of water, feeling a heaviness to your chest. A million thoughts ran through your head as you made your way to the kitchen.
Is it possible that he really did forget?
Is he lying to me?
Am I just overthinking things again?
Or did he finally get...bored of me?
Looking back, you started to think about how lately, Hyunjin has been cancelling and rescheduling your dates. Every time you text him, asking him to come over, he’d reply with something along the line of “can’t i’m busy. sorry.” Of course you felt hurt, but you always told yourself, he’s a busy man. We don’t always have to be together.
And of course, you werent oblivious to how every month, the amount of dahlias Hyunjin used to give you slowly decreased. Once a dozen dahlias became only 8. 8 slowly became half a dozen. Then 6 became only 3. But you’ve convinced yourself that you didn’t need flowers to determine how in love you were, telling yourself how expensive live flowers actually are, so it makes sense he’ll end up giving less flowers. That’s it. That’s what you’ve conditioned your mind to think.
You’ve convinced yourself that Hyunjin truly is a good guy.
You didn’t even realize you were already in your kitchen until you felt yourself holding the cup to your mouth, the cool liquid making it’s way down your esophagus. You put the cup onto the counter, mindlessly staring at it. Maybe your were just overthinking things. That’s it.
Trudging back to the bedroom, you sat on the edge of your bed, sighing heavily, trying to contain the tears that were threatening to come out. Your lit up with a notification.

From Lixie Ramsay 🧑🍳🍽

Hey Y/n, are you feeling well?
Seeing a text from Felix, you grabbed your phone.
Not really. How’d you know??
Idk. I guess you can call it...best friend telepathy :D
You smiled, typing in another reply.
Well thank GOD for bsf telepathy cause I feel like shit rn.
Overthinking again?
Yes :(
Aww sorry to hear that dude :((
Wait. What happened with Hyunjin? Isn’t it your anniversary today?
Your heart ached at the message, the good mood you were slowly feeling again plummeted. Luckily, Felix noticed how long you were taking to reply to him.
Ah nvm... Anyways, I’m pretty much free rn so that meeaannnsss...I’ll take you out on a date instead!
Even though you were wallowing in misery, you couldn’t help but tease him.
You? Pass
How rude. And here I am being the greatest friend anyone could ask for, and you have the audacity to be picky?
Have fun with your pity party then, best friend
You sniggered at his reply. No no. I’m sorry I’m sorry, I’ll take up your offer LOL
Good. Be ready in about 20 mins. I’m coming over so we can go to the café together!
Okayyy :D
You got up and put on a nice, but comfortable outfit to go out in with your best friend.
You were just sitting on your couch, awaiting for Felix’s arrival when you heard a knock on your door.
“Y/n! It’s meee~!” came his loud, deep voice. You chortled as you got up from your couch, making sure everything was secured before going to your door. You opened it to see Felix’s bright smile greeting you.
You giggled, opening the door wider. “‘Sup, bro,” you nodded your head. Felix returned the gesture.
“‘Sup. You ready?”
“Yup! Let’s go.” Before you could get out of your house, Felix stopped you.
“Wait wait! I have something for you!” he lightly pushed you back inside. Only then did you notice that he was holding a single sunflower in his left hand. Your eyes widened a little, confused.
“What’s this?” you asked.
“A sunflower!”
You rolled your eyes at him. “Duh, I know that, but what’s it for?”
Felix beamed. “Well, I knew that you were feeling sad today, and I heard from someone that sunflowers are known as “happy flowers”, so I thought that I should give you one! To cheer you up!”
You looked at the flower in awe, incredibly touched by his gesture. “Lix...” you trailed off, feeling happy tears beginning to prick your eyes. You took the sunflower from his hands and stared at it, already feeling the positive vibes radiating from it.
“I know, I know. I’m the bestest best friend anyone could ask for. Now let’s go! I’ve been dying to try the carrot cake in that new café a few blocks down!” Felix said, sliding his arm to yours, “I heard that they have one of the best carrot cakes in town.”
You looked up from the flower to look at him, grinning. “Thank you so much for this, dude. I really appreciate it.”
Felix shrugged with a small smile on his face. “It’s the least I could do. Really.” He waited for you as you locked your front door, arms still linked, then making your way to go to the café Felix has been dying to go to.
The two of you walked together, catching up on each other’s current events going on in your lives, seeing how you weren’t able to for the past two weeks. Right now, Felix was telling you about a certain crush he has in one of his classes.
“Ooh, so, have you tried asking them out? Or even just told them that you’re interested or something, in the very least?” you wiggled your eyebrows. In response, he sucked in his breath a little. His face contorted in a slight grimace.
“I...tried to...” He said with his teeth clenched. You looked at him in puzzled.
“What do you mean ‘tried to’, Lix?” you asked. “It’s either you did or you didn’t.”
Felix sighed in embarrassment, his mind wandering back to the memory. “I sorta might’ve accidentally revealed that I liked them but sorta might’ve got embarrassed and accidentally took it back?”
“What?” you deadpanned.
“Okay okay. It’s dumb. I know. But they were so SO cute just talking, TALKING, and it just slipped out, I guess!” he said, exasperatedly. “I really couldn’t help it! Honest! So, I just panicked and covered it up by saying ‘I’m so lucky to have a friend like you'”
You looked at him blankly, slowly unlinking your arms. “Oh no,” you sighed, slightly shaking your head. “Oh baby nooo...”
“Yeah. I’m pathetic, I know.”
You hummed in pity, patting his shoulder. “A little, yeah, but it’s okay. Things like that happen, unfortunately. Don’t worry though, it’s not like it’s the end of the world,” you grinned, “You’ll have a lot more chances to actually confess in the near future.”
Felix nodded, crooning. “You’re right, Y/n. Thanks,” he said, giving you a hug as he gave you his well-renowned sunshine-like smile that you couldn’t help but smile back.
“No problem.”
Topic after topic, the two of you were so immersed in your conversation that you guys arrived at the café.
“Finally!” you cheered. “That was a surprisingly long walk.”
Felix sighed. “For real. But on the bright side: carrot cake!”
“Is the carrot cake even that good?”
“Dunno. Only one way to find out!” Felix walked a few steps ahead of you to open the door for you when he suddenly stopped. His whole body went rigid. In a blink of an eye, he turned around, gently pushing you away from the building. “Darn. What a shame, it’s full today. Oh well,” he frantically stated.
You glanced back behind him to check the inside yourself, only to see that it was only half full.
“What’re you talking about? There’s totally enough space for us. Let’s go.”
Felix’s face was full of dread. His body was stiff, his eyes shook a little as he maintained eye contact with you. He was nervous, and you could tell.
“You’re not okay. Is there someone in there you wanna avoid?” you said in urgency.
“Uhm. You could say that,” he murmured, looking down. Looking back up to see if there were any shifty looking faces that were in desperate need of a beating, your heart dropped in horror and dispair. Through the window, you saw Hyunjin, your boyfriend, sitting with a pretty looking lady. You watched them with woeful eyes as they smiled and laugh with each other. You couldn’t believe it, you didn’t want to. You wanted to believe that this was all a misunderstanding. You only snapped out of it when you felt Felix’s small, warm hands.
“Let’s-uh- let’s just go, yeah?” he said quietly. Nodding mindlessly, you let him lead to somewhere else. Anywhere but here. Felix rubbed your back, trying to give you any kind of hug he could give you as you walked away. You tried your best to push back the cough making it’s way to your throat. Good thing Felix was guiding you the entire way, others you would’ve fallen due to your blurry eyesight.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered into your ear. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry.”
It’s okay. You have nothing to apologize for, is what you wanted to tell him. But you couldn’t, for if you do, you might end up breaking down in the middle of the streets. You breathed heavily, containing both your tears and the pressure down in your chest and throat.
You snuggled closer to your thick blankets, trying to assimilate the warm you crave for from it. Felix was by your side, rubbing soothing circle to your back. You guys never went to go to another café. Instead, he led you home, seeing how it wasn’t the right time for you two to go out. You appreciated his gesture. It makes you wonder why can’t every guy be like your best friend, your brother, your soulmate. Felix let out a long exhale.
“Man, I-I’m sorry you had to see that, especially on your anniversary,” he soft said. Felix was furious, not only at Hyunjin, but himself as well. He felt like he couldn’t protect you, like he failed as your best friend.
“It’s okay, Lix. I’m fine,” you murmured. “Actually,” you paused, “I’m not fine. But you don’t have to apologize for something like this. This had nothing to do with you.”
“I know,” he sighed. “Im just frustrated, you know. I’m mad that you’re hurting like this.”
“Yeah me too,” you said emptily. “I just hope that this was just a misunderstanding.”
“He better damn well make sure that it’s just a misunderstanding,” he grumbled. “Otherwise i’m gonna have to settle some things with him. Hope he knows that i’m a black belt in Taekwondo.”
You snorted. “Thanks, Felix.”
“I will have a ‘chat’ with him. Mark my words.”
You laughed at him. You could faintly feel the angst in your heart lessen, but not completely go away. Hearing your front door unlock, you stiffened. You tried your best to not look at it.
“Babe! I’m here!” Hyunjin’s voice rang at the entrance. You felt Felix’s hold on your form tighten. Hyunjin walked closer to you two.
“Hey, Felix,” he said flatly. “didn’t know you were coming here.”
“Hmm.” Felix nodded his head, not even trying to make eye contact with the tall brunette. Hyunjin nodded back in annoyance.
“Anyways, you can leave now,” he sneered with his jaw clenched. “Your job is done. Now it’s my turn to spend time with my beloved.”
Both you and Felix tensed at his words. He looked down to look for your approval. Seeing your unsure nod, he hesitantly let go of you, watching you as he does so.
“It’s okay,” you mouthed to him. He made a sharp breath as he stood up, still refusing to look Hyunjin in the eye.
“Goodbye,” Felix called out, more to you than the other. You felt a sense of foreboding when you heard the door shut. From your side, Hyunjin let out a harsh groan.
“Finally,” he said, sitting down as he wrapped his arm around you. You couldn’t let yourself relax in his arms like how you’d usually to. You just felt uneasy in his presence right now. “So? How was you day? Missed me?” Hyunjin asked. You couldn’t take it anymore. You couldn’t bring yourself to pretend anymore.
“Are you cheating on me?” you more declared than asked as you sat up straight. Hyunjin’s eyes widened for a millisecond, a flash of fear in his eyes, but he just played it off.
“How could you accuse me of something like that?” he said, defensively. “I’m your boyfriend. Don’t you trust me?”
You bit your lip nervously. “I saw you, Hyunjin. At the café.” His face contorted in panic but quickly masked it as disbelief.
He scoffed, “Well you saw wrong, Y/n. That was just a friend, I would NEVER cheat on you.” He shook his head disappointingly, removing his arm from you. “I can’t believe that you would ever doubt me, babe. I’m actually really hurt by this right now.”
You felt a wave of guilt rush over you.
“Oh...I’m sorry,” you muttered. “I just thought-“
“You thought what? That the rumors were true?” Hyunjin laughed sarcastically. “Man, and here I thought that you were different.”
Your eyes teared up even more as the guilt inside your chest increased. Was I really wrong? you thought. “No! I’m-I’m sorry, Hyunie! I didn’t know! I just felt hurt because today was su-”
“Yeah, yeah. It’s okay. Let me just, be alone for a while, Y/n.” Hyunjin quietly got up and walked out of your house. You walked as he slammed the door on his way out, wrapping the blanket tighter around you. You were starting to regret letting Felix leave. The air around turn colder in your empty apartment.
It was supposed to be our one year anniversary, you thought, finally letting your tears out. And yet again, you tried controlling the tickling down your throat.
“He told you WHAT?” Felix exclaimed, looking at you incredulously. You had to shush him when you noticed some of the other people in the coffe shop giving you both tiny glares.
“He told me that it was just a friend that he had to me,” you said, quietly. “And that he would never cheat on me. He also said that felt hurt that I didn’t trust him, so I felt bad cause he did looked super upset.”
Felix rolled his eyes as he let out a sardonic “ha”. “That’s rich. Coming from him?” You let out a tiny pout.
“I don’t know, Lix. He seemed like he was telling the truth though?”
“Yeah, seemed, Y/n. I don’t know if you should trust him anymore. And besides, it even sounded like he was trying to make you feel bad instead of apologizing.”
“Well yeah cause-” Felix cut you off, holding up his hand to stop you from saying anything else.
“That’s gaslighting, bud. A huge red flag if you ask me. He didn’t even remember that it was your anniversary!”
Scrunching your eyebrows, you pondered upon Felix’s words. You knew he was right, but you really wanted to give Hyunjin the benefit of a doubt. All of a sudden, you felt a pressure in your chest. In need of relief, you coughed into the juncture of your arm. Felix winced in pity.
“Ooh, sounds nasty. You good there?”
You nodded as you continued coughing, giving him a thumbs up. Once you finish with your fit, you cleared your throat a little, grabbing the water bottle beside you to drink.
“Mhmm, yeah. Just a tickle, that’s all.”
“You sure? You’ve started coughing since yesterday,” Felix stated. “Are you sure you aren’t getting sick cause of the weather or stress or something?”
“Uhh nah. I don’t think so,” you said. “I’m sure it’s nothing.”
Felix hummed, totally unconvinced by your reasoning. He knew deep down something was wrong; he just didn’t know what. It was quiet for a while until Felix up at the window and let out a little gasp. You raised your eyebrows at this, silently asking him what’s wrong. He glared a little at the window before turning to you.
“Hate to do this but look. Behind you, don’t make it obvious.”
You slightly turned your head to see what he was looking at. Your eyes widened. You saw Hyunjin and the same girl from 2 days ago, passing by at the other side of the window, hand in hand. You watched in disbelief as the girl tipped toed to kiss his cheek while he giggles. You quickly turned your head in the other direction to avoid him as they walked by, feeling the pressure in your chest worsen. It hurt even more when you remember the small bouquet of dahilas in her hands. You felt your eyes burning with tears, sucking in deep breaths. Turns out that that was a mistake.
You calming yourself back-fired. You ended up having a coughing fit; but it didn’t feel like any cough you’ve ever had. It felt way heavier, like you were almost suffocating. Bringing a fist to your chest, you pounded on it as if it would help. You didn’t know if the tears in your eyes was from the couch or seeing your bastard of a boyfriend. You couldn’t even open them so you opted to just keeping them shut .
“Y/n?!” Felix yelled out in alarm. You felt him come up behind you, rubbing your back. “Oh shit...” you heard him breathed out. You slowly opened your eyes and turned to him. He looked frantic, but he wasn’t staring at you, rather on the floor. You looked back to see dahlia petals on the floor.
Huh? you thought in bewilderment. Last time you checked, there wasn’t any plants in the shop, aside for the plastic Swiss Cheese plants in the corners of the place, if they even count at all.
Felix noticed your gaze on the petals. “That shit’s from you,” he pointed out. “We need to get you to a hospital. ASAP.”
You looked at him weakly. “But-“
“NOW, Y/n.”
“I- what?” you gasped in horror.
“You’ve, unfortunately, contracted the Hanahaki Disease,” the doctor announced in sympathy. Felix rushed you to the nearest hospital after your little scene. When you arrived there and told the receptionist at the entrance, she immediately paged you to the emergency room. You were scared. You didn’t know what was so urgent to rush you to an emergency room.
“Hantahapki? What the hell is that?” Felix asked, coming out rather aggressively. He was horrified; who wouldn’t be if they witnessed their best friend coughing out flower petals.
“Hanahaki,” the doctor subtly corrected, “It’s a rare disease that makes you cough out petals. Not many people gets it.”
Your heart beak was fast. If it was rare, then who knows what could happen.
“Okay, Hanahaki. So do you know how Y/n got it?”
The doctor removed her glasses and put it on the desk beside her. “Well, though it is a rare disease, we do know enough about it,” she declared. “The Hanahaki disease, fortunately, isn’t contagious and is only produced from unrequited love.”
You let out a shaky sigh. “So it is true. He doesn’t love me anymore,” you muttered. You felt the familiar pressure in your chest so you relieved yourself, petals spewing as you coughed. Felix immediately rubbed your back in alarm.”
“Is there anyway to treat it, doc?” he worriedly questioned. The doctor nodded.
“Yes actually. One option is for the patient’s love to be returned by the recipient,” your heart dropped a little hearing this “-or the other is to undergo surgery.”
“Surgery?” you both inquired at the same time.
The doctor nodded again. “Yes, surgery, our safest option. However, doing so will result in Y/n loosing all feelings of love altogether.”
“So what you’re saying is,” you said slowly. “-if I do the procedure, I won’t be able to love again?”
“Unfortunately, yes. Romantic love that is. You can still love people platonicly, like your friend over here,” she said gesturing to Felix. “Family and friends, basically. You just can’t have romantic feelings for anyone else, even if you really wanted to.”
You and Felix looked at each other in sorrow. “I,” Felix started off, “really think you should do it.”
You bit your lip as you shook your head. “I don’t know. This is a pretty big decision. Can’t I just, like, think about it for a while? Before I really decide if I want to do this?”
“Of course you can, Y/n,” the doctor said. “Just don’t take too long making a decision, okay? Because it will kill you, if you don’t decide on time.”
The two of you looked up at her in horror. “KILL?!”
She winced a little at your loud voices, prompting the two of you to apologize. “Yes, kill. Those aren’t just petals coming out of no where.” She gestured to the pile between the tree of you. “They have to produce somewhere. At first they’ll start of as a little bud, that’s why as of now, you’re only coughing out several petals each cough, eventually getting bigger and bigger until the flower in your lungs fully bloom, which could end up bursting out of your chest.”
Felix turned to you in pure terror, slightly shaking you. “I REALLY think you should do the surgery today.” You brushed him off of you.
“Okay yeah, that’s terrifying, but I won’t be able to love ever again, Lix!” you countered. He look at you like you were crazy.
“You won’t be able to feel ANYTHING if you don’t!”
You contemplated on the situation. You didn’t know what to do. The doctor interrupted your train of thoughts.
“Don’t worry, Y/n you have about a few weeks minimum to make a decision. Luckily you came to us the day you started coughing out the petals. Otherwise, if it happened earlier and you kept it to yourself, you might’ve...you know.” You shook your head in acknowledgment.
“Yeah. Okay, thank you, doc.”
It’s been 5 days since you’ve been to the hospital; 5 days you’ve been diagnosed with the Hanahaki Disease; 5 days since you’ve last seen Hyunjin.
You still weren’t sure if you wanted to undergo the procedure. Felix said that this was the best option, but you didn’t want to listen. You still had hope in your heart that maybe, just maybe, Hyunjin still loves you deep down. You heard your phone ding from the table. You picked it up and saw that is was from your “boyfriend”.
Hey! Haven’t seen each other in a while. Wanna talk?
Your heart sped up. You didn’t know if it was from excitement that he finally contacted you, or fear that you might end up finding out the whole truth. Your fingers typed out a reply.
Yeah, come over today. I’ve missed you
Liar, you thought to yourself.
Sure! See you soon!
:)
You typed out your final reply, burying your face into the throw pillows.
A knock was heard from your door, signaling Hyunjin’s arrival. You tensed buy quickly calmed yourself down. You got up to let him in. You were greeted by his big smile, which you knew now was fake.
“Hey, babe! I’ve missed you!” he cheered.
Fucking liar. Putting one a fake smile, you said a quick “miss you too” and let him in. Closing the door, you gave yourself a mental pep talk before going straight to the point. You turned around to face him
“You’re cheating on me,” you stated, emotionlessly. You didn’t even say it as if it was a question, you knew. Hyunjin looked panic before composing himself.
“Again, Y/n? I told you, it-”
“I SAW YOU, HYUNJIN!” you cried out, not even containing your emotions anymore. “I SAW YOU OUTSIDE OF THE CAFÉ. I SAW YOU HOLDING HANDS. I SAW HER KISS YOU AND YOU DIDNT PUSH HER AWAY. IN FACT, IT LOOKED LIKE YOU ENJOYED IT.” You walked quickly towards him to push his chest.
“WHAT’S WORSE WAS THAT I SAW THE DAHLIAS YOU GAVE HER, A FLOWER THAT YOU SAID WAS SPECIAL TO US!” you fell to the floor, sobbing. The jig was up, Hyunjin knew.
“I trusted you Hyunjin...I really did. I even convinced myself that you weren’t like the rumors said,” you said weakly, already too tired to scream. “I love you. How could you do this to me?”
Hyunjin watched as you broke down. He didn’t know what to say; how to comfort you. He couldn’t even lie to you anymore. He felt bad for you. But he could’nt deny that he’s lost feelings for you.
“I’m sorry...”
Hearing this made you cry even more, you cradled your chest as you sank deeper to the floor. He didn’t even deny it. He didn’t even try comforting you. You heard his heavy footsteps leave your house, closing the door behind him. Your heart lurked even more. So this is it, you thought.
It hurts.
It hurts so fucking bad.
You were used to being cheated and lied to, so why did it? You clutched your burning chest, trying to regulate your breathing. More tears spilled out of your eyes.
It was because you genuinely loved Hyunjin.
You couldn’t take it anymore, you started wheezing out the dahlia petals out of your chest. A bunch of petals flew out of your mouth. You couldn’t breathe. It was too much. You crawled to your phone to call Felix. It rang once, twice, before he finally answered.
“Y/n?”
You could’ve even speak anymore, the room started spinning, your vision started blurring.
“Lix...hospital...” you managed to let out before collapsing.
“Y/n? Y/n!”
You woke up to the sound of beeping. You looked around and noticed that you weren’t home anymore. You tried getting up, flinching when the IV bag connected to you stopped you.
Ah, I’m at the hospital.
You laid back down and relaxed, trying to relive what happened last time you were awake. All you remember were blurry images of you crying, petals, hearing Felix’s panicked voice, then nothing. You eyes shot open at the thought.
Felix?!
You looked around the room to finally see him sleeping in the corner. You could faintly distinguish the dried tear marks on his freckled face.
He must’ve been here for a while.
The door know turned to reveal the same doctor to diagnosed you a few days prior. “Hello, Y/n,” she greeted, standing by your bed. “Seems like you’re doing well now.” You nodded. You tried speaking to answer her, only to find that you couldn’t because of how dry your throat was. The doctor noticed this and shook her head.
“Don’t. Just rest, it’s okay.”
You bowed you head as a slight thank you. She walked closer to you to pat your head.
“Congratulations, the procedure was a success.”
You eyes widened at the implication. So that’s why you’re here. It all made sense now. You have her a smile as you gave a raspy “thank you.” She talked to you for a while before deciding to leave you to rest a little more. She announced you could be discharged from the hospital by tomorrow.
You felt a little disappointed that you couldn’t love anymore, but still overall glad that you’re still alive. You glanced at the papers the doctor left on the table beside you, grabbing it to read it a little just to see that is was just your information. Beside it, you saw that she also left a cup of water for you. You gulped it down, letting out a relieved “ah” went you finished.
You didn’t want to think about anything right now, and you sure as hell didn’t even want to think about your now ex-boyfriend. You closed your eyes to think about what went wrong in your life. Especially now that you have to live without loving anything the way you want to. You contemplated with an emptiness in your chest.

Unloved and Unwanted?
Word Count: 3,395 Felix x Reader Part One. Warnings: Fluff Angst
Y/N was 17 years old when her entire life changed; her mother Molly died in a car accident and she found herself in Forks living with her father Charlie Swan, who she had never met. Charlie was shocked when he got a phone call from Child Services advising him about Y/N as he didn’t know she even existed. This made it hard for Charlie to accept her; as a result he struggled to build relationship with Y/N once she arrived in Forks. Charlie and Sue were busy working and planning their wedding; leaving little time to help Y/N settle in.
Bella had already moved out as she was married to Edward Cullen and they had a daughter Renesmee. Bella did not make an effort to meet her younger half-sister, choosing to ignore her.
Y/N didn’t make any friends at her new school either, she went almost unnoticed there. She felt truly alone and it only made her miss her mom even more, especially as they had been very close before the accident.
One Saturday morning Bella dropped Renesmee off at Charlie’s for a visit but didn’t stay herself as she had things to do. After a few hours Charlie was called into the station due to an emergency and as Y/N was home he asked her to keep an eye on Renesmee. This surprised Y/N as she had only met Renesmee briefly a few times as she was not included in ‘family time’ during Renesmee’s visits. This led to Y/N staying in her room during Renesmee’s visits as to not be in the way. In fact Y/N stayed in her room even when Renesmee wasn’t around for the same reason.
Y/N and Renesmee baked chocolate chips cookies and watched a few Disney films together, before Charlie came home with take out. Y/N had dinner with them that night but only because Renesmee asked her to join them. Charlie did not engage Y/N in conversation other than to ask about what she and Renesmee did whilst he was at work.
That night when Renesmee got home she told her family about the time she spent with Y/N; how much she liked her and that she felt sorry for her as she had lost her mom. This conversation prompted Bella to finally decide to meet Y/N; six months after she had moved to Forks.
This decision prompted Alice to have a vision;
Y/N was in Italy with the Volturi; more specifically with Felix, one of the elite guards. They didn’t look happy together either with Felix leaving Y/N alone in her room and making his way to the throne room for guard duty.
Felix spending his evenings with Demetri and Santiago playing cards or playing on his computer console with other members of the guard when not on guard duty at night.
Y/N’s room was not very big and was barely decorated and the only visitors she got other than Felix was Gianna, who bought her meals every day, Heidi and Demetri who check in on her.
Edward saw the vision as it happened and knew what he had to; for this solved a problem for everyone, Y/N would leave Forks and live in Volterra. He filled his siblings and Bella in on the plan and they all agreed. “She’ll be someone’s else’s problem soon, Charlie still isn’t warming to the idea of having another daughter around” Edward told them, having read Charlie’s mind the last time he was over there “Bella, you need to befriend Y/N and bring her over so we can inform her about Vampires; the Volturi and her mate” Bella agreed instantly.
Bella met with Y/N at Charlie’s a few days later “Hello Y/N, I’m Bella. I’m sorry for not coming over sooner to meet you” “Hi Bella, that’s ok. It’s nice to finally meet you” Y/N replied “Yeah you too. How are you settling in?” Bella asked “I’m settling in ok, thanks” Y/N lied.
They spent the afternoon talking to each other attempting to get to know one another. Y/N couldn’t help feeling suspicious of Bella; wondering why she came over to meet her and why she was being nice to her after ignoring her the last six months.
The following Friday Bella called and invited Y/N over to the Cullen house “Hello Y/N, I hope you are ok. I’m calling to invite you over tomorrow. I think it would be nice for you to meet Edwards’s siblings” “Err, ok thanks. Sounds nice, thank you” Y/N relied. The following morning Bella drove to Charlie’s and picked up Y/N and bought her back to the main house. When they arrived Bella introduced her to everyone “Y/N this is my husband Edward” She said pointing to Edward “Hello Edward, it’s nice to meet you” Y/N greeted “You too Y/N” Edward smiled “These are my siblings Emmett, Rosalie, Jasper, Alice” He continued; they all smiled and said hello to Y/N and she did the same in return. “My father Carlisle is at the hospital and my mother Esme has taken Renesmee out for the day. Hopefully you’ll meet them next time” Edward added.
Neither Carlisle nor Esme knew of Edward’s plan or the other’s involvement as they all knew that they wouldn’t agree with or support their plan.
They all sat down in the family room and explained to Y/N that they were vampires and that they feed off of animals instead of humans; hence their golden eyes. They explained that vampires have something called a ‘mate’; one person they would love, protect and spend an eternity with. They also explained that Rose and Emmett were mates; as were Jasper and Alice, Edward and Bella and lastly Carlisle and Esme. Alice explained that her, Jasper, Edward and Bella had ‘gifts’ and explained which each one was. Y/N nodded trying to take in the information so far
Emmett went onto explain about the Volturi who lived in Italy; how they were the rulers of the vampire world enforcing the laws, one of which was that humans were not allowed to know of their existence. “Why have you told me then?” Y/N asked confused. “We have told you about vampires because Alice has had a vision and it showed you with your mate; who is an elite Volturi guard” Edward answered. “What does that mean for me?” She asked “It means that you would need to go to Volterra to be with him. If they came here to check on Renesmee and found out that we knew you were the mate of one of their guards and we didn’t tell them; they would kill us and take you to Italy forcibly” Edward continued. “What is the guard I’m mated to like?” She asked. The Cullen siblings and Bella looked at each other before Rosalie answered her “He is known for being the strongest vampire in the world and has killed many vampires and humans alike” Shock flashed across Y/N’s face at hearing this “The Volturi do not like humans much; seeing them as not much more than their food source. So the news of one of their elite guards being mated to a human will not go down well” Rosalie continued. “He will likely reject you as his mate as you’re human” Bella added “I-If he is to reject me…why does he need to know about me?” Y/N asked. Noone answered her straight away, again looking at each other silently deciding who would answer her.
“As I said before, they would kill us if they found out we kept you from your mate. We can’t and won’t risk our lives for you” Edward replied rather matter of factly; Y/N said nothing. “You need to know more about your mate” Bella added and Y/N nodded, waiting for someone to continue.
“The Volturi do not usually allow newborns in the castle; however, they will make an exception for you…” “What do you mean newborns?” Y/N cut Edward off sounding confused “Newborns are what newly turned vampires are called” Bella answered her, Y/N nodded “You’ll spend your newborn years in the dungeon and provided your mate remembers you’re down there; you’ll more than likely be taken to a room in one of the towers…where you will spend your eternity once you’re no longer a newborn” Edward informed her “W-Why did you say if he remembered I was in the dungeon?” She asked a little worried “Edward means there are vampires that have been down in the dungeons for decades if not centuries. They kinda get forgotten about” Alice replied quickly “So if I am to be rejected, why would he keep me in the castle?” Y/N asked feeling confused. Jasper answered her this time “Once he meets you the mate bond will kick in and he will feel protective of you and will need to know that you are safe. If a vampire loses their mate they become heartbroken and overtime they fall into a deep depression and he won’t want that; the Volturi leaders won’t want that either as he is too valuable to them. This will still apply even after his rejection of you” “Oh” Was all Y/N could say.
“Some of the Volturi are gifted too, so you won’t be able to run and hide either as they have the world’s best tracker and they will send him after you and he will find you and drag you back to Volterra kicking and screaming if he has to. You’ll also see the cruel side of your mate too if you were to run from him” Emmett added; all of them being careful not to reveal Y/N’s mate’s name. “You leave for Volterra in three days. We have already bought you a ticket and to ensure you actually get there I will accompany you” Edward says. “So I don’t have a choice in this?” Y/N asked “No you don’t!” Bella said sharply. “Edward I don’t think going to Volterra with another human is a good idea. We have letters for her and Aro; I think it’s best if she goes alone” Alice says looking at Edward, who nods “Fine, but I’m taking her to the airport regardless. I’ll pick you up at 8pm Tuesday Y/N” Y/N just nods in response. Y/N made sure to not think about how she felt about this around Edward knowing that he may be able to read her mind.
Later that night Y/N started packing a few things for her trip and couldn’t help her thoughts ‘I find out I have a soulmate; someone who’s supposed to love me forever, only to find out that he won’t want me. He’ll just reject me and lock me away forever. I don’t know why I’m so surprised that someone else who is supposed to love me doesn’t. It’s the story of my life recently, being unwanted and unloved. It’s bad enough I have to stay here with Charlie who doesn’t want me around.’ Tears slipped down her cheeks at the thought of being unloved, unwanted and locked away forever, just to be forgotten about. She cried herself to sleep that night.
The following morning Charlie opens a letter informing him that Y/N has been accepted into an Art college in Italy and that she is due there in a few days. Alice had put the letter together as a cover story for Y/N to leave Forks. “Morning, Y/N. This came yesterday after I left for work; it’s an acceptance letter for an Art college in Italy. They need you there in a few days so you should get packing” Charlie said smiling as Y/N entered the kitchen “Oh ok, I’ll-I’ll do that” Y/N couldn’t believe the Cullens had faked a letter to get her to Italy; clearly they wanted her gone and soon.
A few days later Edward dropped Y/N off at the airport “Here this is a letter for Aro; make sure to give it to him when you arrive at the castle. This letter is for you to read on the plane, it’s basically tells you what we told you the other night. When you arrive a car will be waiting to take you Volterra. Safe flight” He gets back in the car and drives away leaving Y/N at the airport alone.
Y/N sits on the plane reading the letter addressed to her; and it’s a repeat of the information she was told a few days ago. She thought about not going to Italy but figured the Cullens will know if she doesn’t arrive or they’ll call Aro to check that she arrived so it’s probably just easier to go voluntarily rather than be chased down by the Volturi’s tracker and incur the wrath of her mate.
The plane lands and Y/N makes her way through to the airport to the waiting car “Miss Y/S/N?” The man asks “Yes, you’re taking me to Volterra?” Y/N replies “Yes miss. Get in the car please” The man says placing her case in the trunk. Y/N is dropped off just outside of the town square “The castle is just up there; you can’t miss it as there’s a huge fountain in the middle of the square” “Thank you” Y/N said taking her case from the driver.
Y/N made her way to the town square and sat down on the fountain trying to get the courage up to walk into a castle full of vampires; knowing that once she’s inside she’ll never be allowed to leave. Unknown to Y/N she is being watched by Heidi who has stepped outside of the castle to see if there are any tourists around that she can add to the ‘castle tour’ scheduled for tomorrow. With her enhanced sight Heidi notices that Y/N holding an envelope in her hands whilst looking at the castle and after about an hour Heidi makes her way over to Y/N “Are you ok?” She asks sitting beside her “I think so” Y/N replies sounding unsure. “I’m Heidi by the way, so what brings you to Volterra?” Y/N notices Heidi’s eyes are a lilac colour and her skin is pale but looks perfect, just like the Cullens “I’m Y/N. I’ve been sent here to meet my mate, not that he’s going to happy about it. In fact I’ve been told that…he won’t want me” Y/N says looking down handing Heidi her letter “It’s all explained in here”
Heidi takes the letter reading it and it explains that Y/N is mated to one of the elite guards and as soon as she reads ‘he is the strongest vampire in the world’ she knows who Y/N’s mate is. Heidi frowns as she continues to read the letter as she doesn’t like what she is reading. It is depicting Felix as cruel when he is actually kind despite him coming across as intimidating due to his physical appearance. She also knows that Felix would his love his mate whether she be human or vampire as he has been waiting a long time to meet her and would be hurt if he knew that his mate thought of him this way. “Who gave you this letter?” Heidi asks sounding a little upset “Edward Cullen handed me this letter at the airport for me to read to remind me about what awaits me upon landing here. I also have another letter for Aro” She tells Heidi “How come you showed me this letter?” Heidi asks “You are a vampire and I’m guessing you live in the castle” Y/N replies “How did you…” Y/N cuts Heidi off “You have pale skin like the Cullens and you came from the direction of the castle and you didn’t seem surprised when I mentioned the word ‘mate’ nor when you were reading the letter” “Huh, very true. Would you like me to take you inside to meet Aro?” Heidi asks “I’m not sure if I’m ready to go in just yet” Y/N replies quietly “Ok I’ll wait with you until you’re ready” “Thank you Heidi.” Y/N gives Heidi a small smile. After an hour of sitting on the fountain making small talk Heidi and Y/N make their way into the castle; Heidi taking Y/N’s hand in hers “Do not let go of my hand Y/N” “Ok” Y/N nods.
Once inside the castle Heidi heads straight to the reception desk “Hi Gianna, this is Y/N. I need you to take this to Aro for me please” Heidi says handing her a quick note asking to meet with him, Caius and Marcus and minimal guards as she has a delicate matter to discuss. Heidi and Y/N wait in reception for Gianna to return “Heidi, Y/N, Aro is ready for you and the guards have been dismissed except for Jane and Demetri” Heidi was pleased Felix wouldn’t be in the room during this conversation.
They arrive at throne room “Good afternoon masters” Heidi greets them with a smile “Heidi so good to see you and you have bought a human with you” Aro replies curious. “There is a very good reason for that. This is Y/N and she has a letter for you from the Cullens” Caius’ attention is piqued when he hears the Cullens name mentioned. “May I see the letter please my dear?” Aro asks “Of course” Y/N responds handing the letter over. Y/N and Heidi watch Aro’s facial expressions as he reads the letter and he doesn’t seem happy. “What’s in the letter brother?” Caius asks impatiently; Aro extends his arm holding out the letter for him. “Y/N my dear, when did you learn about us?” Aro asks “A few days ago, I was invited to the Cullen’s house and Edward, his siblings and Bella informed me about vampires, the Volturi and…mates” She answered “Do you know who your mate is?” Caius interjects “Not exactly. I only know that he is one of the elite guards…and is known for being the strongest vampire in the world. Also that he along with the rest of you don’t like humans much…there-therefore he won’t want me…as his mate. I’ve been told that I will be rejected and locked away” Y/N replies not looking at Caius “WHAT?!” Caius screams; Heidi and Y/N flinch at this, Heidi grips Y/N’s hand in a comforting gesture. Y/N’s comment also gains Marcus’ attention whilst Jane and Demetri look on curiously.
Caius storms down the steps to stand beside Aro “If you know you are to be rejected why did you come here?” Aro asks gently “Edward told me if you found out that they knew I was the mate of one of your guards and they didn’t tell you; you would kill them…and bring me here by force. He said they wouldn’t risk their lives for me. They also said that if I were to run and hide…you-you would send the world’s best tracker after me; who would find me and…bring me here…kicking and screaming if needed and…I would incur the wrath of my mate…who can be rather cruel. I-I figured it was just easier to come here willingly” She replied quietly looking down. Demetri felt himself get a little angry hearing that the Cullens had used him to threaten the human girl into coming to Volterra. “You mentioned being locked away, what do you mean by this?” Caius asked confusion clearly showing on his face “Edward told me that you do not usually allow newborns in the castle; however, you will make an exception for me…that I’d spend my newborn years in the dungeon and…provided my mate remembers I’m down there; he’ll come and get me… lock me away in the tower where I’ll spend eternity once I’m no longer a newborn”
A look of shock crossed the faces of the three kings as well as Jane’s and Demetri’s upon hearing this. “I want you know that I don’t intend to object to the rejection” Y/N added. “Why would you accept the rejection child?” Marcus asks curiously joining his brothers at the bottom of the steps “Not being wanted is not a new thing for me. I’m not going to make someone be with me if they don’t want to be. I have no intention of messing up his life just because I’m not wanted back home either” Y/N replied looking at Marcus, who gave her a small smile.
‘Poor beautiful, broken girl.’ Heidi thought to herself listening to this last part.

"a visitor from the emperor's place, your highness."
lilian york's voice has always carried the same gentleness. for as long as she can remember, athanasia has heard softness, music, safety, in lily - the voice of a mother. the realisation, long overdue, hits her as she inquires after her mysterious guest. i've never addressed lily as such, have i?
the brunette tries for a smile. "it is his majesty's personal guard, princess, sir felix from the robane duchy. i have hannah showing him to the visitors' lounge - perhaps the knight comes bearing good news?"
the blonde princess smiles, nodding hopefully. it's all she can do for lily, she guesses, the woman who cared for her like one of her own. just as lily's smile never dimmed once during the past eighteen years, athanasia supposes she must now return the favour.
but lily never saw her father's eyes that night.
lily hadn't seen his stance harden at the mere sight of her.
the malice, the poison in claude de alger obelia's voice wasn't directed at lily.
so lily couldn't possibly know. for all athanasia knows claude could be in his study, spinning a roulette wheel to decide how to have her executed. he'd want her gone by the earliest, she assumes, probably before jennette can wake and intercede for her - or evidence is found towards the actual culprit.
either way, if the least she could do was comfort lily somewhat with a little, hopeful smile, then the smile would be priority.
|•| ruby palace |•| 11:00 am |•|
"sir," athanasia greets, recoiling as the knight grins at her. she'd heard stories of the atmosphere in the imperial palace, the deceptive, snake-like nature of noble court - surely, with a father so prominent in both politics and obelia's military, felix robane was one to be vary of.
and - being her father's personal guard would require being similarly ruthless and cunning, would it not? this smiley knight could always be the one poisoning her father against her behind their backs.
"to what do i owe this pleasure?"
the redhead attempts lightening the mood with another bright grin. "greetings to the star of the obelian empire. may the gods' blessings be with you, princess. today, i have come as a messenger regarding his majesty's wish that you join him for breakfast-"
"-wh, what? no, i... i'm not going anywhere with you."
felix robane's natural smile falls. "what is it, princess?"
athanasia steps backwards in defense as the knight tries comforting her, a trembling hand raised to cover her mouth. "y-you can tell his majesty i won't...won't be joining him."
"but, princess-"
not daring to move her eyes from the redhead, athanasia reaches for an hourglass resting on the mantle beside her, holding it up in defense. "go back. go and tell the emperor to send me the death warrant himself. there's no need to build such a roundabout way of-"
felix grimaces. "you may be misunderstanding the situation, prin-"
"-don't 'princess' me. if he has the guts, have my father tell me his decision himself. you can't force me to leave. i won't, i won't be led out of my home with you pretending as if everything is fine."
the knight holds up his hands in surrender. "you have the higher status of the two of us, your highness, i wouldn't dare pushing you into anything you do not like. i'm afraid you cannot refute the emperor's word, however. but...but if your highness has questions, i can promise to answer with complete honesty."
"how can i trust you?"
felix taps his chin in thought. "as a knight, my value is measured not by my skill, but the trust put in me by those i am pledged to. my oath is to the obelian emperor. you, princess, are his majesty's heir, so as along as your commands do not undermine the emperor's, you are included in the oath."
athanasia blinks, studying the knight. he seems to be curling into himself so as to not be percieved as a threat. she watches his careful movements, irate. "i read a book once..." she starts, feeling self conscious all of sudden. do i sound like a madwoman?
felix robane nods eagerly. "i was told the princess was an avid reader."
she flushes, glaring at her lap. "...anyway, in the book, the king's sister married a traitor, and because they were technically royalty, he couldn't just kill them under charges of treason. so instead, the king had their food poisoned."
athanasia watches the subtext register on the knight's face. "your highness...no, i- his majesty has no such thing planned. i can assure you - the matter is actually quite the opposite."
"...is it?"
he stares at his lap before looking up at her determinedly. "i can't say i know how your highness feels about your father, but...he needs you right now." felix sighs softly, "as you know, her highness the princess jennette hasn't yet regained consciousness. this makes you his majesty's most favourable heir."
athanasia stares at the hourglass in her hand before setting it down. interest piqued, she eyes the fidgeting knight. "why would you bring this up, sir robane, and to me of all people? is the emperor perhaps...ill?"
the look in the redhead's eyes is more than enough confirmation. athanasia grips the arm of her seat. "he has been having the strangest migraines ever since...well, a little after your debut, actually. except lately, these headaches seem to be weakening him. quite a lot."
a cold sweat creeping up her neck, athanasia downs a glass of water before turning to the distressed knight. "i assume you want my assistance in hiding this from the nobles. since jennette isn't here."
"essentially, yes." he nods once more. "with all the commotion surrounding princess jennette, both the nobles and commoners are watching the palace diligently. the factions are too divided - of course, a large portion of the nobles support princess jennette as your father's heir, most of them being blood purists, while an equally large believe you are more competent, having been raised in the palace. regrettably, it isn't just the nobles - we have a delegation arriving at the palace soon enough to settle matters regarding the southern territory. we cannot afford weakening his majesty's image, not right now."
her eyes flicker to the obelian coat of arms on felix's shoulder, and the sigil of house robane embroidered on his cloak. "i don't suppose i have much of choice in the matter - but since urgency of the situation affects my country, i doubt i would've refused anyway. but, sir felix..." she pauses, studying his expression, "my father's palace doesn't garuntee my safety. so i must call on your oath as a knight now."
"of course, your highness." hesitantly, as if he held a china doll in his hands, felix murmurs, "it can be a chance to get closer to his majesty, too. er - that is, if only your highness wishes it to be."
nodding, athanasia stares at her hands. "...perhaps."
|•| emperor's palace |•| 3:00 pm |•|
with her father's stare scrutinising her every move, she bows deeply in greeting.
his gaze is different, athanasia notices. the malice is gone. the hatred has dissipated.
now, as if she were a complicated math problem, claude de alger obelia stares her down, a spark of challenge alight in his eyes. "don't worry your head too much about it," he starts, "i haven't called you here for any special reason."
"...i see."
he tilts his head curiously, studying her reactions still. "oh? what's this? no declarations of love today? no pleading for attention? you're strangely quiet for someone so full of demands."
she fidgets with her dress, a deep red blooming on her cheeks in embarrassment. "i apologise if my words troubled your majesty."
claude nods slowly, eyes tracing her unkempt hair. "you overestimate yourself, princess."
athanasia inhales sharply. what does he want?
"felix's method of conveying information is a bit... exaggerated, at times," the blonde emperor says, watching her grimace under his stare, "i'm here to clear up any misunderstandings he may have unknowingly planted."
"ye, yes?"
claude's hand lands on his sheathed sword. athanasia blood freezes as he pulls it out, slowly, eyes not moving from hers. "i'm assuming you've been told of the council being held tomorrow. it will be your unofficial entrance into politics, so i hope there won't be any...mistakes. you'll need the nobility's support."
she nearly snorts. you wouldn't hesitate in burying anyone who dared look jennette in the eyes, i'm sure. still, athanasia tries smiling - lily always smiled whenever she was unsure of what to say, after all - and lets go of her skirt, nodding. "there won't be any."
the last time she spoke to her father, she'd known that whether or not he decided on mercy, she wouldn't be talking to him again. thus the courage to empty her heart, lighten her shoulders. now... now, athanasia didn't know what to think. how to act.
she flinches when he speaks, hands tracing the edge of the blade lightly. "do think this sword is important to me, athanasia?"
an odd warmth courses through her at the sound of her name. or was it because of the voice, the owner of the voice? she honestly couldn't tell. "your majesty..." athanasia swallows - what's the right answer? - "i would assume so. i'm no knight, of course...but, a sword is effective for both defense and offense in battle. and i hear your majesty's swordsmanship is unrivaled in obelia, so...yes, i think."
she watches claude draw in a long breath, staring at the weapon. "it's interesting that you think so. but at the end of the day, the sword is just another weapon, isn't it? i can always have better ones at the flick of my wrist."
"your...majesty?"
a drop of blood runs down the emperor's finger as he runs it along the edge of the blade. "it is useful, isn't it? at least...as long as i decide it is. a simple tool's value will always be decided by me, after all."
cold dread settles into athanasia's bones. "i...i see, sire."
nodding approvingly, claude de alger obelia places the beautiful sword in her hands. "happy birthday, princess."

Stray Kids: Reacting to their GF Missing Them
A/N: This is basically something I’ve been daydreaming about fjfdjkk so there’s that. Basically their Gf’s record themselves on tiktok to the song “Mr. Loverman” and “Me and my Husband” and the boys see it. ALSO the boys don’t have a dating ban here and they are public with their relationship (some more than others) NOT PROOF READ
Chan:
You were still in Uni and it was stressful being a student
it’s also very stressful when your sweet boyfriend lives across the world
you had visited him for a week recently but, obviously, you had to go back home
it was one of those early morning study sessions because you really needed to pass this quiz
you looked up at the picture frames on your desk and tears started to spill over the keyboard
you missed chan so much it hurt in your chest
like if there was a hole where your heart should be
you decided to scroll through tiktok as a way to escape from your sadness
that’s when you heard the song “Mr Loverman” for the thousandth time and you decided to let your feelings out
chan’s fans knew he was in a relationship but he cared too much about your privacy that he never introduced you to his fans
after you finished uploading the tiktok, you decided to get back to studying
chan was finishing up his work for the afternoon when Felix came into the studio
“Hyung look” he shoved his phone into chan’s face
we all know felix has a secret tiktok
Chan saw you sitting at your desk, tears in your eyes and several words on the screen
the familiar lyrics “I’m Mr. Loverman, and I miss my lover man” while he read what you wrote broke his heart into a million pieces
“i miss him so much. I want to see him again.”
tears threatened to spill from his own eyes as he watched you look so broken
felix took that as his cue to give chan some space
He needed to see your face even though he knew it was late
accepting the facetime call, you almost sobbed at seeing your handsome boyfriends face
“Hey babygirl’
“hi channie”
“Why are you still awake, love?”
“i miss you too much” you said in a whisper, a pout on your lips and your voice quivering
it was all about to spill out again, your emotions were just not in tact at the moment
“baby please don’t cry” :( i’m literally about to cry writing this
He wishes so badly that he could be there to wipe your tears
chan hated seeing you sad, you crying was his ultimate weakness
After calming down, he told you to stop studying and get some rest
he hummed the familiar tune to you while you fell into a soft slumber
you bet your ass that he booked the soonest flight to go see you
Minho
please i can’t get enough of this gif
so you lived in korea with minho
you both lived in an apartment together and although small, it was your home
you worked as a therapist for young adults and dealt with a lot every day
you and him never really saw each other during the day because of how busy you two were
it was comeback season so that meant he was rarely home
actually, he wasn’t home at all; he stayed at the dorms with the boys so that transportation and work was easier
so the house felt even emptier and although you were extremely supportive of the boys you missed your husband
so one night when you got home from work, you just burst into tears
a patient of yours talked about losing his first love and yadayadayada
it just hit you for some reason
but you knew it was stupid to cry, you should be happy your husband was back with his brothers and doing what he loves
so while you made dinner you continued, you listened to the playlist you made for these types of scenarios
and with your luck, the song “Me and my Husband” started playing
all the emotions you had been holding in flowed back out as you related to every word
what you didn’t know was that Minho was done early today and was making his way back home to you
and at the perfect moment, when the line “But when he walks in, I am loved” he walked in the door
turning to look at him, you couldn’t stop the smile from spreading across your face
jumping into his arms, he staggered back a bit but held you nonetheless
“Did someone miss me?” he smirked
“oh shut up and kiss me” and that he did
all your sadness faded away and the stress taking place in your body relaxed
“you really missed me didn’t you?” he said, wiping what was left of your tears
“yea yea, now come help me with dinner”
he couldn’t wish to be anywhere else but here with you
Changbin
look at his smile pls
you and changbin have been married for about a year now
his fans were super supportive and they honestly were warning HIM not to break your heart
you were a youtuber and a producer who made music for groups like KARD and VAV
so obviously you and changbin barely saw each other when you two were busy
however, you had a day off but changbin on the other hand had to help chan with a song
even though today was your anniversary, you made him go help out chan
your marriage was important but you knew how important music is to him and the boys
looking around the house at the pictures of the both of you, you started to get teary eyed
all the memories came hitting you like a bus rip george o’malley
you decided to put all these memories into a video not only to put your emotions somewhere but for the fans as well
but there was a twist at the end no one expected
while Changbin and Chan were focused on the track they were working on, Jisung came in to show changbin something
“Just look”
changbins attention went to the video in front of him
there you were doing your makeup and a couple textboxes showed up talking about how depressed you were in the past
you were not in a good state of mind and weren’t sure life was for you
that was until Changbin walked into your life *cue “But when he walks in I am loved”*
He smiled at all the pictures of you and him; your first dates, the proposal, the wedding, and more couple pictures
but what he wasn’t expecting was the last picture
there you were, holding a pregnancy test with a hand covering your smile
bet your ass all of twitter was already talking about it, that’s how jisung found it
both chan and jisung were hopping off the walls congratulating changbin
He packed up all his stuff and rushed home as fast as he could
when he walked in, there you were in bed watching his music videos
He didn’t even say anything, all he did was kiss you and hug you so tight in his arms as if your were going to slip away
“So I’m guessing this means you’re happy?”
He kissed you again “Why didn’t you tell me sooner?”
“I wanted to surprise you” you shrugged
he layed in bed with you, head on your belly
“See that? Those are your uncles, they already want to meet you” you giggled
“and that is your daddy, I’m going to protect you with all I am. I already love you so much”
“what are you doing, Binnie?”
“shush woman I’m talking to my baby
you rolled your eyes, “i was your baby first”
He cupped your cheek and looked into your eyes
“you still are, you’re just my big baby”
giggles filled the air as you two wondered what your future would look like
Hyunjin
now hyunjin is a special case
all your days were filled with laughter and fun, your relationship was never dull
but recently he couldn’t be with you as much as you wanted
there were rumors about hyunjin dating and him and the company weren’t sure whether to deny or admit it
so for the mean time, you two couldn’t see each other for a bit
your days began getting dull and gray, you missed your energy boy
it didn’t help that you were just about to graduate and the stress of your future was filling your head
one day, it got too much and you spent the day crying
you missed hyunjin so much and wished he could be there with you
so what do you do to organize your thoughts?
make a tiktok
choosing the song “Mr Loverman” you record yourself sitting in your bed, head in your arms and curled up in a ball
the text went along like
“If it benefits him, I want him to let me go. I miss him so much but I know that this means the world to him. I just want to hold him”
of course the viewers had no idea what you were talking about, except for one
felix walked towards where the members were having dinner
“hyung look”
watching the video and listening to the lyrics, his chest felt so heavy
he wanted to throw everything up because the sadness was eating him up
“i have to see her”
although the boys were worried about the media and what the company would say, they still let him go
sitting on the floor against your bed listening to the song on repeat, you didn’t hear hyunjin come in
spotting you, he sat in the spot next to you
you jumped and looked at him with wide eyes
“hyunjin you can’t be here! what about the company and the saesangs and-”
he kissed you and held you in his arms
“i don’t care about any of that. If i can’t have you, I don’t want any of it.”
there you two sat, holding hands and looking at the moonlight from your window
he didn’t need to have supporters when his main supporter was sitting right next to him
Jisung
i miss minsung omg
you were an idol and it was no secret that you and jisung were in love with each other
but your companies forbid you two from being with one another, at least until you had a couple more years of being an idol
you and jisung had to pretend you were best friends, but that also meant no seeing each other very often
you wanted so bad just to say fuck it and come out to the public anyway
but you knew how much music meant to him
both of your fans weren’t even mad about the rumors, they were more mad at the invasion of privacy
one day, you had a video scheduled to do a cover
and what song did you want to sing? “Mr Loverman” of course
there you sat, in a blue turtleneck topped by a brown coat and plaid tennis skirt
as you sang, the lyrics just kept getting to you
you didn’t cry but when fans watched and analyzed the video, they noticed parts where your eyes watered
stray kids were one of the first viewers
there they sat in the dorm in front of the tv
watching you sing, they all praised your voice and how pretty you looked
but jisung noticed how the song affected you, and honestly it affected him too
he got his jacket and left the dorm, ignoring the boys calls and yells
arriving at your apartment, he knocked softly
and there you were, in one of his sweaters and tears in your arms
before any of you could say anything, he hugged you and tucked his head into your neck
“jisung?” your hands played with his hair
“ we can make this work, i don’t want to lose you”
after a while of talking, you too were just watching tv and cuddling, *like in the gif*
you didn’t want to be anywhere but with him
Felix
this gif makes me fall more in love with him
Felix and you have been a couple for about a year and a half
your fans loved how wholesome your relationship was
he was the light of your life and was the biggest energy booster
felix was always cooking and baking for you
now you were another idol but you were a solo artist
you also compose songs for groups like day6
so one day you were on the radio show that young k brian hosts
“so y/n, you are very open about your relationship with Felix. what is a song that reminds you of him or your relationship.”
you talked about the song “Me and my Husband”, making sure to remind people that you and felix aren’t married yet
so they asked you to sing a part of the song for them
as you sing the lines “But when he walks in I am loved, I am loved”
they all talked about how nice your voice was and continued talking about your career
but at one point, there was a phone call to the radio show
it was felix, you were so shocked that he would call but nonetheless it made you giggle
during the call, he told you to look over the the door
you looked over and there he was, drawing a heart with his breathe that hit the window *like in the gif*
you blushed and laughed at him
you can guess how much twitter was freaking out over the interaction
at home later, you thanked him for making your day
“i just love being your number one supporter”
Seungmin
im so in love with him
although seungmin and your relationship was fairly new, you two didn’t spend as much time together
you knew each other’s boundaries and knew how much your personal lives mattered
but that didn’t mean you didn’t miss each other
you were still in school technically but you also were an intern at a hospital
this meant that you didn’t have time to spend time with seungmin since you were either at your internship or studing
your favorite pastime was tiktok and playing the piano
so in the small free time that you had, you would post covers on tiktok and you gained a huge following
seungmin and the rest of the boys followed you on their personal accounts they have one and we all know it
However one day, you were missing seungmin terribly
your body ached for the feeling of his hugs and kisses on your nose
your followers kept suggesting for you to cover the song “Mr. Loverman” so you used this opportunity to let your emotions out
Seungmin was scrolling through his following on his tiktok account and he found your new video
your sweet silky voice filled his ears and he couldn’t help but smile
but his heart was starting to feel heavy and he noticed how your voice broke just a bit
after he finished watching and saving the video, he decided to video call you
and there he was, with so much love in his eyes
“I missed you”
“i miss you too minnie”
the two of you kept on the conversation being the sweetest couple ever
he made sure to never let you feel like that again
Jeongin
hes growing up so fast im crying
you and innie were still in school
and we all know how he is so obviously being in a relationship was fairly new and crazy to him
however you had a semi career on youtube where you posted singing and dance covers of numerous songs
recently, your music teacher assigned for you and the rest of your peers to sing or create a song that you relate to deeply OR reflects on your life
you browsed through songs like Gone Days, Zombie, and other various kpop songs
but you wanted to be different and do an english song
you were pretty good at english, since it was a class you chose to take
you also knew that your viewers were wanting an english cover on your channel for a while
deciding to chose the song “mr. loverman”, you started to record
unbeknownst to you, these videos were going to be shown to several other classes
one happening to be jeongins
while in the big auditorium, several students gasped and praised your singing skills
jeongin, however, looked over at you with stars in his eyes
after school, you both went out to your favorite cafe and back to the dorms
“you sounded really good” his cheeks were heating up
“i was singing about you, you know”
that earned you a kiss on your cheek and cuddles the rest of the day

The Christmas Baker
A Hyunlix Hallmark Fic Chapter 1/5 wc: 4k Hwang Hyunjin is a rich, cocky, famous dancer that prefers to keep to himself during the holidays. This is just for fun. Next Chapter
--------------------&--------------------
A deep pounding in the temples roused Hyunjin from his sleep, a groan escaping him as he tried to sit up, his head spinning. He remembered he’d crashed on the couch again in the middle of the night after coming home from another company party. As usual, he’d had too much to drink and couldn’t make it all the way to his bedroom to undress or sleep properly. Now his neck and shoulders hurt from the uncomfortable couch and he felt like he needed a year long hot shower.
The smell of cooking registered in his nose, turning his stomach but waking him up a little more. He could hear the soft voice of his room mate and best friend, Chan, chiming from the kitchen, singing along to a christmas song he couldn’t quite make out.
Chan emerged from the kitchen carrying a steaming bowl, grinning wide as he noticed Hyunjin up and somewhat alert,
“Hey sleepyhead, you’re finally awake.” His voice was high and babyish as he approached the couch.
Hyunjin groaned again. No matter how close they were, he was still embarrassed whenever Chan pulled out his cute charms around him. Lacking the energy to complain so soon after waking up, he just took the bowl from Chan and brought it to his lips without a word. Despite expecting the taste of Chan’s famous hangover soup, Hyunjin still recoiled as the spices burned his tongue and throat. He coughed sharply, earning a pat on the head from his friend,
“That’ll wake you up for sure.”
“What’s that?” Hyunjin pointed to the luggage piled next to their apartment’s front door, distracting himself as he took another scalding sip of the soup broth. Chan tilted his head like a confused puppy, frowning,
“I’m leaving to stay with my brother for break, remember?”
“That’s today?”
“Of course. Christmas is only four days away you know.” He didn’t know, but Hyunjin didn’t want to say that out loud. People were always either appalled that he didn’t celebrate the holidays or they pitied him. In reality he never got to celebrate like others did when his parents were busy with holiday music events and parties. He was used to being alone this time of year. Still, he couldn’t help eye the stack of bags with jealousy. The thought of waking up on christmas morning without his best friend was not something he looked forward to.
Chan noticed the way his eyes kept flicking toward the door,
“Are you sure I can leave you alone for so long?”
Hyunjin scoffed, “What do you mean? I’m an adult, I can take care of myself.”
“Getting drunk every night until Christmas is not taking care of yourself, Hyunnie.” Hyunjin grimaced at the nickname. Chan only used it when he was sincerely worried about him, and Hyunjin didn’t want to have this serious of a conversation when he’d be leaving right after. He focused on finishing his breakfast instead, skin burning where Chan was watching him.
“Why don’t you come with me?”
Hyunjin choked as he inhaled broth in shock at the proposition,
“Excuse me?” He managed between coughs.
“I mean it. I don’t want you to be here by yourself.”
The witty come back on Hyunjin’s tongue burned away when he met Chan’s sad eyes. Truthfully, he didn’t want to be here alone either, but the thought of staying in a stranger’s house in a strange town was equally unappealing.
“I know my brother won’t mind. He loves company, and we’ll make room for you.”
“I’m not going to win this fight, am I?” Hyunjin sighed, defeated.
“Nope!” Chan grinned and dragged him into a one-sided hug, “I’ll help you pack once you wake up.”
It didn't take long for Hyunjin to shower and collect his things. Though what he owned was luxurious and expensive, he didn't own much of anything. His clothes for the trip took up a rolling suitcase and everything else fit neatly in his shoulder bag. How Chan managed to fill three duffle bags, a laptop case, and his backpack, Hyunjin would never know. Still, between the two of them packing up Chan’s car, they managed to get on the road by the time he’d wanted to leave.
“Do you mind if I call him to let him know we’re coming?” Chan asked, fiddling with his dashboard to connect the car to his phone.
Hyunjin shrugged, putting in his ear buds to respect the privacy of their conversation. Even with his volume turned, though, the reverberating bass of the deepest “Hello?” he’d ever heard cut through to his ears.
Hyunjin had never seen Chan’s brother, but he couldn’t imagine the person that voice must be coming from. His eyes widened as he listened to them talk,
“I’m on my way over now!” Chan said, flashing Hyunjin a bright smile when he noticed his friend’s face, “Hey, I’m sorry for not asking earlier but my roommate didn’t have a place to celebrate Christmas, so is it alright I brought him along?”
“Of course, of course!” His brother responded, his voice lightening only slightly with warmth, “I’ll get the guest room ready. Will he be coming to the party?”
Hyunjin sat up straighter at the mention of a party, looking toward Chan, who only rolled his eyes,
“Yeah, I think it’ll be good for him to go.”
“Sweet! I’ll see you guys when you get here.”
“Love you, Lix.”
“Love you too!”
“Party?” Hyunjin asked curiously as soon as they hung up the call, “I thought you wanted me to stay away from parties.”
“It’s not the kind of party you’re thinking of.” Chan shook his head, a laugh hiding behind his lips, “It’s a celebration on Christmas Eve. Everyone comes together for free food and gifts.”
“Sounds boring.” As long as there’s liquor for the adults, he thought to himself. He knew he’d need it to get through that kind of Christmas cheer. Chan only hummed in response, turning on the radio. It didn’t take long for him to start singing along to the holiday music, definitely not helping Hyunjin’s mood, even with his own music playing through his headphones.
It took a couple songs passing without him registering the music for Hyunjin to realize he was still thinking about the voice on the other end of the car speakers. So warm yet so deep and mysterious at the same time. Chan talked often with pride about his younger brother, but Hyunjin had never taken the time to envision what the boy was actually like. In his head he was just a younger Chan. Clearly not with that voice. If he’d heard someone speak like that in a club or at a venue, he’d be flirting with them in an instant.
After an hour of passive contemplation and at least ten plays of Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas Is You, Hyunjin finally pulled out his ear buds and turned down the radio. Chan turned to look at him mid-lyric,
"What's wrong?"
"Tell me more about your brother." Chan opened his mouth to gush like usual but paused, looking at him curiously,
"You've never asked about him before."
"It would be rude to show up at his house and not know anything about him."
“I talk about him all the time?”
“I don’t listen.” He lied.
Chan rolled his eyes, “Well… his name is Felix. He’s the same age as you are, 6 months younger. I basically raised him when we were kids because our parents were gone all the time. He owns and works at a little bakery in town-”
“He’s a baker?” Now Hyunjin was really confused.
“The BEST baker!” Chan corrected, a little over-excited, “Seriously, all your stress will melt away the second you taste his brownies. He’s also a great cook, of course. And he’s a dancer, like you!”
Hyunjin couldn’t figure this boy out. Every detail Chan shared over the following half hour was like gaining a new jigsaw piece that belonged to a completely different puzzle. “Felix” was a baker at heart with a passion for singing and dancing. Somehow he’d never followed in his elder brother’s footsteps despite being a gifted musician. By the time he was done listening, he both regretted asking and was unimaginably curious. All because of that stupidly deep voice on the other end of the call.
They drove from late morning until sunset, the city passing by them giving way to towns and eventually just an expanse of highway and trees. Occasionally an off-ramp would lead to some semblance of civilization beyond the humming of the cars around them, otherwise there was nothing this far out of the city. Clouds on the horizon turned deep red and purple as Chan finally took an exit, a storm in the distance squeezing the last drops of golden light from the sun before it set.
They took several winding turns through the trees until the sun disappeared behind them and lights flared up around the car. Hyunjin stared in amazement as the trees lining the main road held strings of christmas lights in their branches, leading them straight to the town’s center. Though he would never admit it out loud, Hyunjin thought they were beautiful.
The entire town was decorated as though they had just entered the north pole. Every light pole held an oversized wreath, every tree strung with lights, every hovel and storefront decorated as if they wanted to see their tiny town from space. Hyunjin was dumbstruck; he was used to this kind of sight in big cities. It was to draw tourists and commerce for the big stores and the attractions. But here, this tiny town had none of that. They did this for the joy of it. How anyone could be in love with this holiday in such a way, he did not know. He was so lost in wonder he didn’t even notice they’d stopped until Chan turned the car off and the radio stopped playing, snapping Hyunjin’s attention back to reality.
They’d pulled up to the small driveway of an equally small house. It was two stories tall, but only wide enough to fit the front door and a window on the first story. Thin trails of smoke rose from the back of the house, and a porch enclosed the entrance, orange light spilling out onto the wooden steps from the door’s frosted glass window.
Shivers ripped through Hyunjin as he stepped out of the car, his breath swirling around him in a puff of steam. The temperature had dropped below freezing already, the cold eating away the nerves that started bubbling in Hyunjin’s stomach. The house in front of him looked cozy and warm and he just wanted to get inside.
“Come on!” Chan grinned, motioning for Hyunjin to follow as he nearly sprinted up the stairs. The door was unlocked for them, and he shuffled after his friend into the heat of the home. He rubbed his hands together as he stood over the humming radiator of the entryway, taking in the overwhelming sensory experience of the home. Other than the warmth, the first thing to hit Hyunjin was the smell of food cooking somewhere deeper in the house, making his stomach growl. He hadn’t eaten much more than a few snacks since his breakfast soup.
Secondly, everything was covered in christmas decorations. Everything. The walls, the stairs to the second floor, the doors, the dining room to their left. Even the crown molding lining the ceiling of the old house. The warm orange light he’d seen from outside was emitted by dozens if not hundreds of little warm-white bulbs. It was as if Santa Claus himself lived there.
“We’re here!” Chan called out, waddling into the hallway with Hyunjin right behind. A half-laugh half-yell of excitement burst from what Hyunjin assumed was the kitchen, startling him. Yet the human that emerged from the doorway was the most shocking part.
The boy was just a tiny bit shorter than Chan, and petite enough to be swimming in his oversized sweater and apron. His hair was a shade more platinum than Hyunjin's own blonde, his skin a soft russet with splashes of dark freckles across his nose and cheeks.
"Hyung!" He exclaimed in a high-pitched voice as he ran into Chan's outstretched arms. Certainly this wasn't the same boy that spoke over the car speakers.
"You must be Hyunjin!" His deep voice returned as he pulled away from his brother, beaming up at Hyunjin with the world's brightest grin, "It's nice to meet you!"
"Nice to meet you t-" Hyunjin had extended a hand for a handshake but Felix quickly ignored it, pulling him into a sudden hug. Hyunjin stiffened at the informality, entirely unprepared to meet someone that was even more physically affectionate than Chan. He could see the family resemblance.
“Don’t be nervous,” Felix tried to soothe him, patting his back before pulling away, “You’re hyung’s friend, so this is your home too.”
Hyunjin couldn’t respond, his brain was short-circuiting from the physical affection and the deep voice and all the lights. All he could process was Chan trying desperately yet failing to suppress a laugh in his direction. Thankfully, an obnoxious beeping from the kitchen saved him from having to formulate a response.
“Ah! Dinner’s ready, you guys made it just in time!” He scurried off to fetch the food, bouncing along with excitement as he ran like a child.
“You alright?” Chan chuckled, smacking Hyunjin between the shoulderblades to grab his attention.
“What have you dragged me into?” He whispered, hoping his host wouldn’t hear.
“Come on Hyunjin, I know you guys are going to end up getting along just fine.” Chan winked at him, which Hyunjin thought was odd, but at this point everything around him was twisted backwards and upside down so he didn’t think much more of it.
They hung up their jackets and Chan led him into the dining room where Felix was setting out three large bowls of rice next to three bowls of the most delicious smelling kimchi stew Hyunjin had ever seen. The chandelier that hung over the small table was turned off, the room illuminated instead by the vibrant white glow of the christmas tree in the corner of the room. Felix’s smile as they entered was just as bright; Hyunjin felt he couldn’t look too long or else he’d get lost in it. Instead he turned to Chan as he took a seat next to him, watching his friend’s nose scrunch up at the thought of a spicy meal.
“Don’t worry, it’s not very spicy.” Felix assured, reading Hyunjin’s exact train of thought. Of course he’d know Chan couldn’t handle spicy food. He couldn’t even eat the hangover soup he made Hyunjin in the mornings.
“Thank God.” Chan nodded with relief, “Shall we eat? I’m starving.”
“Of course, please help yourselves.” Felix said as he took a seat across from Hyunjin at the table, still smiling. Hyunjin still couldn’t look at him, his heart skipping at the sight of his grin. Instead, he dug into his stew.
An involuntary groan rumbled in his throat at the flavor, his body warming instantly as he slowed to savor the taste. Not that he’d had many home cooked meals in his life, but Hyunjin couldn’t help but think it was the best tasting meal he’d ever had.
When he came back up from his bowl, Hyunjin froze under the stares of both Chan and Felix. They looked at him eagerly, leaning in as if waiting for him to speak.
“Uh…” He struggled to find words as he swallowed a mouthful of beef, “It’s really good.”
Felix let out a sigh of relief then a loud, sudden laugh. His grin swallowed his face again as he picked up his chopsticks,
“Good! I was worried whether or not you’d like it.”
The comment came off so casual that it left Hyunjin’s ears burning with embarrassment. Why did he care what Hyunjin thought about his food? They were strangers. Yet the longer he lingered in this house the more it felt familiar. Like he was visiting a beloved family member after years apart. He shook off the feeling.
He’s a stranger. Hyunjin reminded himself.
“Is Seungmin still working at the bakery after moving out?” Chan asked when Hyunjin’s senses were ready to return to the conversation.
“Yeah, but I gave him the week off.” Felix waved his hand dismissively, though a smirk lingered on his lips, “He deserves to spend as much time as he can with Minho.”
“They’re back together?”
“Do they ever really break up?” Both brothers laughed in agreement, nodding vigorously. Hyunjin was lost in the conversation, so he just sat and smiled awkwardly. Chan giggled teasingly as he continued,
“What about you? Is there a special boy I should meet while I’m here?”
Hyunjin and Felix immediately locked eyes at the question. Felix’s face grew tomato-red, and the intense fire in his ears told Hyunjin they looked much the same. His head reeled as he realized that’s why Chan was never awkward whenever he came home to find Hyunjin with a boy, or why they never had the talk about it after.
“Uh.. No- no. I’m not seeing anyone.” Felix stuttered, stuffing his mouth with rice so he wouldn’t have to keep talking. Hyunjin felt sorry for him as the boy’s sunny smile vanished. He could sense Felix’s anxiety at being outed to a stranger. Even if he’d welcomed Hyunjin with open arms, this was a different level of personal information. He tried to catch Felix’s eye again but the boy was too focused on his food. Hyunjin cleared his throat instead,
“That’s too bad. I was hoping to meet a cute boy while we were here.”
Felix perked up a little at that, a smile entertaining the corners of his lips while he chewed. They finished their dinner in mostly silence, the sweet hum of christmas music filtering into the room via the kitchen. Though he knew he’d regret it when he returned to the dance studio after break, Hyunjin ate until he was completely full, letting himself indulge in the delicious food just this once.
“So… just you in the bakery tomorrow?” Chan asked as they all leaned back in their chairs, finished and satisfied.
“Yep!” Felix smiled and nodded as he stood to gather the empty dishes from the table, “I’m only aiming for 1000 this year so the two days should be plenty of time. As long as you’ll help?”
“Of course! What are brothers for?”
“1000 what?” Hyunjin looked between them, confused and apprehensive about being in a stranger’s home by himself.
“Cookies! For the Christmas Eve Party. You’re welcome to come help too if you want.”
Hyunjin screwed up his face at the idea; he was NOT a good cook, or baker. Hence his lack of experience with home-cooked meals, “I think I’ll just take the day to look around town.”
“Well you’re welcome to stop by. It’ll just be us in there.” Was that disappointment in his deep voice? Hyunjin shook his head at the thought. While he certainly had a reputation for being cocky, he wasn’t typically this full of himself. There was no reason for this boy he’d just met to have such an impact on his emotions. Felix didn’t care about him or what he did. They didn’t know each other. Hyunjin was only here because of Chan.
“I’m going to start unloading the car.” He said, already heading for the front door. He needed to clear his head. The cold night air would help.
--------------------Felix--------------------
“Is that everything?” Felix asked as he helped his brother tuck the last of the gifts he’d brought under the giant tree in his living room. His cheeks hurt from smiling, and he had to restrain himself from shaking the boxes whenever he glimpsed his name written on the tag.
“Yep!” Chan smiled just as wide, pretending to dust off his hands, “Just have to unpack my clothes and stuff.”
“Do you want help?”
“Nah. I’ll be back down in a bit.” He scratched his fingers in Felix’s hair as he stood, making the younger boy giggle. Felix hadn’t realized how much he had missed his hyung; Chan was gone to the big city to chase his dreams and rarely got a break to come home. Whenever he visited, it felt like Felix’s heart was whole again.
As he stood up from his spot in front of the tree, Felix’s mind wandered from his brother to the stranger upstairs, Hyunjin. Hwang Hyunjin.
Being a dancer himself, Felix was familiar with the dancers that Chan worked with, spending hours memorizing their routines. The fact that Hyunjin was here in his home made nervous, star-struck butterflies flutter in his stomach. Even despite his cold demeanor.
Felix could tell it was an act; the mask had slipped when Hyunjin rescued him from Chan accidentally outing that he liked boys in front of a stranger. It slipped in the way Hyunjin looked to Chan like a brother, for comfort and reassurance. There was a kind person underneath all that ice. He’d warm up once they got to know each other, Felix was sure of it.
“I’ll go check on him, I think.” He mumbled to himself as he checked his pulse, a nervous tick he’d had since he was a child. He stopped to grab a pillow and blankets from the closet under the stairs, just in case his guest needed an extra one, before heading up.
The door to the guest bedroom was ajar so Felix opened it with a nudge of his foot. He found Hyunjin standing in the middle of the room, vigorously texting on his phone. His long, golden hair hung loose, free from the ponytail he’d had it in before. His plump bottom lip was trapped between his teeth, his eyebrows pulled together in concern. It was the first time Felix really recognized how breath-takingly beautiful the man was in person.
When he noticed light spilling into the room from the hall, Hyunjin looked up from his phone, startled as though Felix had caught him doing something he shouldn’t have been. Frowning, he paused in the doorway,
“Is everything okay?”
“Y-yeah. Sorry, you just surprised me.” Hyunjin spoke as if finding his breath again, his ears turning pink again like they had been at dinner.
“Um… Is there anything you need? Like another blanket or something?” Felix shuffled his feet awkwardly. The star-struck butterflies were back in full-force and he was sure he looked just as embarrassed as Hyunjin himself did.
“No thank you, I’m alright.” An awkward pause, “Hey… is that offer to help at the bakery still open?”
Felix’s heart flipped up into his throat,
“Yeah of course! You… you changed your mind?”
“I don’t think I’ll be seeing much of the town.” He stepped back and pointed to the small window. Half an inch of snow already clung to the outer windowsill while large, heavy flakes sparkling in the lights lining the house dove through the air. The storm that had been threatening the sky all day finally arrived.
“Oh that’s alright,” Felix grinned at the sight, excitement mingling with his nervousness making him bounce on his toes, “We’ll have a white christmas at least! You’re welcome to join me and Chan any time.”
“Thank you.” Hyunjin bowed slightly, still being awkward, “Um… good night.”
“Good night, Hyunjin.” Before he could see his reaction, Felix stepped back and shut the door. His heart raced and he had to take a moment to catch his breath.
“It’s going to be a long three days…”

part three of landing in my heart
landing in my heart information
“what did you just say?”
“i would appreciate if you put the gun away from my fiancee”
“she belongs to division 11. and for those who doesnt know, shes unable to release her personal information. now if you mind, my fiancee is exhausted from her recent mission she came back from” jisung told everybody. on point, your body falls onto jisung’s shoulders, acting as if you were actually exhausted.
jisung takes you to his property till you two are out of sight until jisung clears his throat. “you can let go now” without hesitation, you let go and immediately asks whats division 11 is all about. telling you everything, you enter the house with jisung trailing behind you.
jisung takes you to his property till you two are out of sight until jisung clears his throat. “you can let go now” without hesitation, you let go and immediately asks whats division 11 is all about. telling you everything, you enter the house with jisung trailing behind you.
jisung offers you a cup of water and telling you to drink it to calm down. you gladly accept it as he takes a deep breath. “house inspections happens randomly, but i didnt expect it to happen today. im sorry”
“well, im sure you were equally surprised by it too, so no worries. and you showed up on perfect timing too” you smiled at him, drinking the water then looking around. “by the way, are you hurt? are you okay?” jisung asks while hes checking up on you for any hurt wounds. looking up and making eye contact, you see how his eyes were full of worry. shaking you head a no, you smile at him and was distrubed by knocks on jisungs gates.
“captain han! are you there?!”
jisung goes to open the door and sees the village women, who had heard about the news about you and offers him food. feeling like he couldnt hold any plates, they offer him to help him and take it into the house until you appear behind him.
“o-oh! nice to meet you, captain han’s fiancee” one of the women says. greeting them back, you grab one of the plate full of food from jisung. before you two could go, they ask you where your last mission was, what was it about and how was it. expecting to answer all their questions, you replied as “im sorry, i cant have my information out there”. the women gasp, shocked at they way you talked to them.
jisung tells them to go home and have a good night. doing what theyre told, they walked away and you close the gate. “is captain han really in love with her?” “is this a one-sided love?” “look at her hair, it looks so messy!” hearing all the comments they made about you made you stop your tracks, as long as jisung. gritting you teeth in annoyance, you two continued to go inside the house and ate the food they made for you two.
as you two got ready for bed, jisung made you sleep in the living room as he slept in his room. talking though the closed door, you asked him if he ever went to switzerland. “sorry if im being nosy. but i saw piano sheets and an application form from switzerland. did you have a girlfriend that you would play the piano to?” with no response from him, you drifted to sleep.
after the years go by, yiseo is back in pyongyang. passing the gates, yiseo bumps into minseok, who smiles at her and lets her go first. yiseo smiles back and proceeds until she sees her uncle, myeongseok. “ah, look at my yiseo. you lost a lot of weight during your studies in russia.”
“damn, its always the north korean women who have the best taste” minseok tells himself, but as his bodyguard hears him, he tells them to be careful of what he says. minseok then tells him he will pay him an extra 10,000 won if hed stop nagging him, but hell pay minseok 10,000 won if he nags to him again.
as yiseo and myeongseok stops at their car outside the airport, she realized what happened to the other car. “uncle, wheres the other car?” she asks. “oh, i had to lend it to jisung” “are you going to pick it up or is he bringing it back here” “im sure i can go there and pick it up after my recital tomorrow” “huh?! are you sure? i didnt even mention you were coming back to him because he never asks about you” “what kind of woman doesnt remember her fiance?”
the coal mine.
cheolgang enters the coal mine and enters the wire-trapper room after greeting his soldiers. the soldiers gets up from their seats and salutes cheolgang. “ive seen you all work hard, thank you”. manbok hears cheolgang and immediately salutes him. cheolgang tells manbok to follow him into the back exit.
“sir, what brings you all the way here?” manbok asks. “ri muyeok’s brother is now in the outpost. so i need you to wire his house. theres a women in there and im using it to ruin his family” as cheolgang finishes. manbok gets flashbacks about jisung’s brother.
“you see, my little brother is studying in switzerland right now” muyeok says in the car with another soldier. “mmhm, hes a piano genius with a full scholarship. but everytime i call him, hes always sorry. maybe its because one of us had to follow our dads path” muyeok replies. “did you wanted to be on the piano path?” “nah, i wasnt into it as jisung was so i took this path” the soldier nods his head. “but he told me when he gets back, he’ll play a song for me, so im excited for that. i bet itll put me in a happy mood”
manbok, who listens to their conversation, helping cheolgang with his favor; killing muhyeok. telling where the driver to go, they collied with muyeoks vehicle. hearing the crashing noises made manbok go numb.
everyones outside the village, looking though jisung’s car, full of excitement. eavesdropping from the gate, jisung comes behind you and tells you hes leaving. “wait let me walk you out. so those women can see what i actually look like since it was dark outside” “no, theres no time for that. also, here. tie it up” jisung gives you a handkerchief. “tie what up?” jisung turns you around and ties your hair up, securing it with a double knot.
heading out of the gate together, you pretended to play the good wife and walked jisung out of the house. before he could leave your sight, you grabbed his wrist and told him to pat you hair, as if you two were being real about your engagement. he then pats your house as everyone is disgusted at your actions. you then tell him to wave at you in which he did. waving at him back, he turns around and heads to the base, bowing at people.
the village women from last night shows up to jisungs house after bad talking about you, inviting for a kimchi battle, you refuse.
back at the base, all soldiers are in an array. “hwang hyunjin, lee felix, kim seungmin, and yang jeongin. all of you but the four of you, head to the shooting range”
with everyone gone but the five of them, they meeting in jisung’s office. “so what did you tell them” hyunjin asks. “i told them shes my fiancee” everyone gasp loudly. “guys just be quiet right now. we just need a plan for her to get back on the boat”
as the four men walk to jisungs house as jisung himself goes to where the accident happened. as he talks to the soldier that was the guard for the place couldnt see what exactly happened since it was dark but he took note on how empty the cargo was and how the front the truck had armor. a very sharp armor.
in south korea, sehyeong calls the people who are helping him track down minseok, telling them to go to the places where he think hes hiding at. at the family meeting, both sehyeong and sejun continue to fight over who would be the next heir. sanga recommends the la vie en rose should be over if your disappearance is longer than expected.
in the village, you can see how hard life is as a north korean. telling the boys that youre off into the house to get potatoes, you noticed a little boy stealing one of the jackets. as the boys saw, they quickly ran towards the little boy and manages to stop him, as a bag of rice falls off of his pocket. “let me go! i need to feed my sister who hasnt eaten in 3 days and because of that, she cant open her eyes!”
making everyone come back to the house, you grabbed food from the cupboards as hyunjin is speaking nonsense. “you really act like this is your own house. youre giving away food thats not even yours to some boy whos lying” after putting the food into a tote bag, as well as a small blanket, youre stopped as you see jisung. “captain han! hes faking it!” hyunjin yells out. “no im not!”
“shut up hyunjin” you shut him up. jisung tells the little boy to wash his face and hands before eating so that he can prevent getting sick. after he washes he face and hands, he runs towards his little sister, who is sleeping alone under cardboard and a small sheet covering it. finally happy to feed his sister.
after that is finished, everyone gathers around and spends time with you before you leave tonight. “okay everyone! today i will give you awards to claim once we meet again” “awards!? are you a general or something?-” “and the first award goes to yang jeongin !” you say as you cut off hyunjin. “now you have two choices. you can use your prize as we see each other again or get it now. when we meet, youll get 100 million won, or get 8 corn now” “ill get the corn!”
“second prize goes to lee felix! your prize when we meet again is have lunch with jiwoo or get the tv right there” you pointed to jisungs tv. “look-” “dont worry, hell pick the first one” you whisper back to jisung. “ill pick the first one” felix gets up and claims his award.
“third one goes to the most handsome is ... kim seungmin!” jisung looks at you with disbelief. “you can have a blind date with miss korea or any award youd like” “ill choose none” nodding you head, you agreed seungmin is like the boys in south korea.
“okay thats all-” “wait what about me” hyunjin asks. “seriously? fine here, have this shampoo, conditioner, and bodywash” as you threw him the bag full of the products jisung got you earlier. “what the- captain han you really bought her this?!” “she said it was essentials”
after announcing the awards and coming to the end, jisung gets up as jealousy is on him, and goes out of the house. following him behind, you take him to your thank you gift for him; tomatoes after giving the seller half of jisungs potato sack since you didnt have any money. however, jisungs not impressed since he doesnt like tomatoes and doesnt properly treat it well. “whatever, just water it and say 10 nice things to it”
the night comes and everything leads to the end. the 4 men are back, eating corn on the mountain near the base with the moon shinning on them. “i feel sad now” jeongin speaks, stopping the silence. “after all the complications, its now the end”
you and jisung go inside the car jisung borrowed from myeonseok. heading to the dock where youre finally going home. taking off the handkerchief jisung gave you for you hair and folding it, you put it in the middle. “thank you for everything. i mean it” you told him. “we wont see each other again, right?” “probably” jisung answers. “its such a shame that you live here.” “its a shame that you live there” you chuckled at his joke, creating silence in the car once again.
parking the car near the deck, felix’s dad comes out of his boat as you two walk out. giving him the ticket, he asks if its just you. “no, the two of us. ill return after she is on the other boat” jisung says as you widen your eyes at him.
going onto the boat and sailing into the middle of the ocean. “since we probably wont see each other again, my name is yoon y/n” jisung looks at you with sincere eyes. “my name is han jisung” jisung smiles.
“ah, im a member of the haeju yoon clan. haeju is in north korea right?” “im a member of hanju han clan” “the irony!” both of you laugh, making jisung feeling happy after a while.
suddenly, a flash a light flashed the boat. “stop the boat!” yelled the other boat who was trailing behind felix’s dads boat. you and jisung hid under the boat as the boat was stopped. the police were investigating the boat. “were here to see your honesty and see if youre trading goods or smuggling humans to other countries” “why would i do that?” the police stomps on the blue hallow board, which was where you and jisung were hiding.
“open up!” was what you both heard underneath. “jisung! what do we do?! youre a soldier you should know what to do. geez” you silently yelled out. “in south korean dramas-” “what?! this is no time to talk about this” you freaked out. “im going to do something. now look at me and dont be startled. look at me and nothing else”
with that, jisung slams his lips into yours as the door opened.
additional ending:
after you leave jisung alone with the tomato plant, jisung bends down and tells 10 nice words.
“sunshine, happiness, rose, friends, breeze, cheekies, family, flowers, love, and piano”
