Revue ciné : Mortal engines Appréciation : un moment popcorn L'histoire : Les humains de l'ancien temps ont ravagé le monde à coup d'armes "quantiques" en 6 minutes chrono. Quelques centaines d'années plus tard, zou, sur une jolie Europe bien verte, 2 camps s'affrontent. Les villes sur roues représentées dans le coin droit par Londres et les villes sédentaires représentées dans le coin gauche par une agglomération asiatique contestataire protégé par un mur. Une jeune femme en quête de vengeance contre le grand méchant, homme influent de Londres, va mettre à jour, malgré elle, une conspiration visant utiliser une arme de l'ancien temps contre les vilains asiatiques dissidents. Fille d'archéologue, épaulée par un jeune archéologue trahit et énamouré, poursuivie par un Terminator trahit et énamourée, aidée par la Trinity asiatique locale, réussira-t-elle à sauver Tibet city ? La critique : Que dire qui n'a pas déjà été dit ? Et bien, en fait, mes reproches ne ciblent pas là où les autres ont déjà tapé ! De la course poursuite sidérurgique du début à l'anéantissement de la flotte du soleil levant de la fin, cela ne fut pas gênant, mon cerveau a pleinement accepté la suspension d'incrédulité. Là où il ne l'a pas accepté par contre c'est : • Mais pourquoi donc ils s'emmerdent avec leur ville qui consomment comme un 4x4 Nissan (mettez la marque de 4x4 de votre choix si vous possédez une Nissan) alors que chaque plan de la nature verdoyante vous donne envie d'y construire une jolie maison en bois, autosuffisante ! Pourquoi avoir fait un fourretout de ce film avec un Terminator, l'héroïne de Matrix en plus jaune, Fast and Furious Cities, la fille du méchant : blonde et inutile aidée par l'ouvrier soupçonneux du coin : brun et inutile (surement un syndicaliste ou au moins un gilet jaune)... Top 30 Movies of 2018 #13 - Mortal Engines I started making this list before I got to see this movie and from the reviews I saw, I was expecting this movie to be near the bottom. Not so. This movie is amazing. They totally showed me something I have never seen before. Battle Cities on tracks. The action and story flow well. One of the complaints from reviews was that the movie spends more time setting up sequels than telling the story. That could not be farther from the truth. I haven't read the books or anything and at the end of the movie I have no idea where the story goes from here. They really seemed to wrap everything up. The movie did nearly no business in the packed holiday season, so unless the movie does so well on Netflix that they decide to bankroll future films, there's little chance of a sequel. I understand that actors generally want to show their faces in movies as much as possible, but I kinda wish the Hester Shaw character kept the scarf on for most of the movie. There is a scene that is very reminiscent of the trench runs on various Death Stars and the opening battle of the Last Jedi. And you can match characters to most of the main cast of New Hope. 8 of 9 🤔 👸 Some Scars Never Heal For the #art activation campaign of the upcoming movie, @mortalengines, directed by #christianrivers and produced by #peterjackson of #thelordoftherings fame, based on the books by #philipreeve. I've long been a fan of the #mortalengines books, which yes, is quite different in terms of #characterdesign from the movie. But, you gotta admit that the way they have visualized and captured the grandeur of the traction cities in the movie is awe-inspiring. That's something that you don't immediately get from the #books. According to the story, Hester Shaw (played by @herahilmar) is constantly haunted by her past and her pursuit for revenge. Her past has not only scarred her physically but also the way she views the world; making her not only afraid of being judged but also defiant.
