Hello I have another little fic here, about Rook being trapped in the fade. Or more accuratly, Emmrich Volkarin reacting immediately after rook being trapped.
The basis of this fanfic is simple! What if Emmrich reacted with rage upon finding out Rook was trapped by Solas? Rage towards Solas and even his friends?
So here we are! 1,043 words. Additional notes are: Harding is alive, as is Davrin. Because I say so.
The eye of the storm collapsed, and knocked them all back, the flash of magic blinding them. Emmrich’s head cracked on the stone ground, his ears ringing and head spinning. He lifted his head, dazed as his eyes tried to see. But the flash blindness obscured his vision. He blinked, sitting himself up. He blinked again, harder this time. The blindness faded a little, a splotchy form kneeling where Ghilan’nain’s body had been. He felt relief for a moment “Rook-“ They stood. The splotchy silhouette was wrong. Too tall, too broad. His blood went cold, still not able to see who it was “Solas what did you do!!” Harding yelled, voice hoarse, voice muffled by the ringing in his ears. Solas? But Solas was- where was Rook? A man's voice spoke, clear and sharp. Familiar and etched into Emmrich’s mind from the memories of a god. “Harding? You are alive? I thought… It is no matter. I am glad you-“ “You're glad? Glad?! Did you plan for me to die?!” The ground shook. Whether it was Harding’s anger or the Blight, Emmrich could not tell. “What did you do with her?!” Emmrich’s vision cleared. Solas stood where Rook had been, the lyrium dagger in his hand. Harding stood before him, blood soaking one arm and her armor stained by blight, her eyes glowing.
“I am afraid she is gone, trapped by regret in the fade. Rook has made a noble sacrifice, so that I may slay Elgar’nan.” The words hit Emmrich like a punch to the gut. Panic set it, its constricting grip around his throat as he fumbled for his staff, scrambling to his knees. “I care for you Rook… But there are such years between us. I shouldn't heap you with that burden.” “You’re breaking my heart by worrying.” He had been so worried about himself. So scared to love her. So determined to sabotage his relationship with her, to spare her from the pain of being stuck with him; A terrified, fool of an old man. So terrified he was that he had not even considered that she would be the one gone. His eyes ached and his heart bled. “Where is she?” Emmrich asked, ignorant to the growing rage of Elgar’nan. Solas turned his gaze on him. His expression looked pitiful and torn. As if he was carrying sorrow on his shoulders. That only sparked something in Emmrich, an emotion he so rarely had. Rage. “Where is she?!” his voice rose in pitch, cracking as he rose on shaky feet. His face contorting in a furious scowl, tears starting to roll down his face, Emmrich yelled, chest heaving as he swung his staff, firing a missile of magic at the bastard. Solas lifted his hand and blocked it effortlessly. “It is best if you leave. Elgar’nan will kill you all. I shall stop him, and put an end to this.”
”I will not leave until you give her back!” Emmrich threw another spell at him. “Emmrich-” Harding ran up and grabbed his staff, and he struggled to rip it out of her grip. Solas’s brows furrowed. He opened his mouth. Hesitated, then spoke. “I am sorry. You will never see her again.” “Liar!” Emmrich screamed, shoving Harding back, abandoning his staff and lunging for him with the intention of wrapping his hands around his neck, but then a strong hand grabbed his right bicep, yanking him back. “Emmrich, we have to go.” Davrin hissed, dragging him back, away from Solas. Emmrich could only yell, kicking and cursing and crying as he kept trying to get at the man that had taken his beloved away. Enraged that he had the audacity to say “sorry”, the gaul to look so pitifully regretful of his actions. Monster! Demon! Bastard! He was dragged to the Eluvian, emotions turning into a horrid mix of rage and panic. If he was taken away from this place, then he would not be able to properly trace where she went. It would waste valuable time. “Let me go- I need to-” Davrin’s face was a mask of determination, but his eyes were wet. “No.” “Davrin let me go-” “I am not leaving you here. Rook would kill me if I let you stay and get killed.” Davrin hissed, the others darting through the rippling surface. Neve, Assan, Lucanis, Harding. No Bellara, No Rook. Taash stopped, turning around and motioning their head. “Hurry up!” Davrin continued to ignore Emmrich’s begging, dragging him closer and closer to the mirror, and he turned on the younger man in a panicked rage. Emmrich cursed, pulling his left wrist back and punching Davrin in the jaw, his emerald ring cutting him and leaving a deep gouge. As he pulled his fist back for another punch, Taash ran up and grabbed his other arm. The two of them got him through the eluvian, and Emmrich sank to the floor, watching with growing despair as Tearstone Island faded away to the crossroads. It felt like a dagger slipped through his ribs, twisting in his heart. He shuddered, face contorting as he buried his face in his hands. He sobbed, shoulders heaving as he curled in on himself. He had not been able to apologize. Harding moved to comfort him, but Davrin grabbed her shoulder. ”You need to be cleaned up or you might get infected. Come on. I will patch you up too.” he led her away, Harding casting a final glance at the sobbing Emmrich. “I need coffee…” Lucanis said, face contorted into a mixture of disgust and sadness. Taash was silent, fists trembling from how hard they were clenching. Neve was the one who kneeled by Emmrich, her hand resting on his back. Making him shudder. “Emmrich… come on. We will figure this out. We will get Rook and Bellara back.” Emmrich could only sob in response, his hands moving to tangle into his hair. Neve’s hands moved up to squeeze his shoulders, her lips pursed in distress, looking like she too would cry. “Come on. We can't find her without you.” He dragged his hands down his face, jaw clenching as he willed himself to stop sobbing. She was right. He was the fade expert. He was the one who could find her. Even if he could not get to where she was lost… He could find her. He would find her. And he would do whatever it took to do so.

jealousy
slytherin riki x griffindor reader!
note: this was req! i begcut me slack i have never watched hp movie in my life and this is a tinsy bit rushed but besides that i hope you enjoy though this is not the best of works i apologise 😭😭
m.list
things could get hectic sometimes around the school, but there’s always a way around it so here you find yourself sitting next to one of the new students deciding to make him feel a little more welcome to the sometimes not so welcoming environment, but your sweet and caring nature is something that he took in well, he noticed the way that your smile flashed when you were talking to him, helping him with his work, finding his way around hogwarts and making potions here and there. but the one student that had always sat at the back of the classroom was riki. though everyone takes him for the kind of mean and come off cold kind of person but you always believe that deep down everybody has some sort of soft spot.
but the parts that you didn’t take in was how he would look at you helping other male students around with their work, inching just a little bit too close to them, the way your skirt would ride up your thighs. although you weren’t his nor has he really ever spoken to you, he wants to find a way to make you his and he’ll make sure that it will happen . and by that he means he will go to any extent to have you under by his charms or underneath him.
The classes where you would be helping other male students riki would always be eyeing holes through them from the back of the room, the way that your hands would accidentally touch when passing things to eachother , the way that they lean in when you’re speaking to them because they couldn’t hear you well enough, the jealousy that boiled inside him grew day by day until he finally decided that he had enough, starting to try and grow closer to you. occasionally bumping into you in the hallways, exchanging notes or sometimes small greetings with each other.
But the day that he saw you talking to that one guy that you always are with, having you pressed up against your locker was the day that he just couldn’t take it any more. He trailed towards the two of you slowly but he walked as if he was on a mission, really trying to see how it would play out. you catch a glimpse of him marching towards the two of you from the corner of your eye thinking that maybe he’s just coming up to you for a few answers, but oh your so wrong
“what the fuck do you think your doing?” riki’s voice echos through the hallway. the boy steps away from you “i-it’s not what it looks like” his hands raise slightly in defence. but he is almost thrown out of the way as riki shoves his shoulder. “don’t ever speak to her again” his voice thick with intention. “what are you doing?” even through this eventful situation your voice remains calm and sweet, looking at the significantly taller boy with almost loving eyes.
“playing innocent hm? like he wasn’t about to take you right then and there huh doll? fuck do you know what you do to me?” his voice barley above a whisper as his eyes briefly scan the hall “what?” the tone of his words being an affect on you “come with me” he grabs your wrist, you hesitate for a moment, you can’t just run off to your rivals dormitory, but you follow his lead anyway.
“what is this all about? what’s your problem” you search for answers as you follow him through what seems like a maze, “you drive me crazy Y/N, always so close to all those other boys” he turns to look down at you briefly so your jealous” you scoff slightly. “ don’t fucking test me” he opens the door to his dorm, ushering you inside before slamming it shut, and slamming his lips straight into yours. your taken back slightly but soon give into the warm feeling of his mouth.
he slowly guides the two of you backward, lips never leaving yours as you crash down onto his couch. breaking the kiss as he kisses slowly down your body , sucking on your neck as his hands rub your waist. “you drive me mad” he mumbles against your skin, sliding to his knees infront of the couch, leaving him looking straight up your skirt, shyness of course takes over you and he pickes it up. “don’t play innocent with me baby” his thumb runs over your clothed pussy as you whimper slightly. “take em off” he raises his eyebrows at you, watching as you shyly yet willingly drop your panties to your ankles.
“good girl, so wet f’me already hm, wanna see what you do to me?” the tease in his tone drove you mad, nodding as he pulls his pants and boxers down, his dick springs free and your mouth falls agape slightly. “ like what you see huh? “ his large hands find your thighs, spreading them apart as he rubs the tip of his dick against your folds. “please” the word left your lips almost silently, but your breath is brutally taken from your lungs as he slams his length in all at once. a sharp gasp is torn from you “ shit- i bet he would never fuck you like this” he grunts out, leaving you no time to adjust as his pace already grows ruthless. moans and whines leaving your mouth as he plows into your pussy.
“fuck, this is what you wanted isn’t it? hm? someone to fuck you so good” god he’s so cocky, but you can’t act like it isn’t turning you on. “always being so provocative, with your tiny fucking skirts” his hand snakes to your neck, applying a small amount of pressure. “fuck please please please!” you whine out as you throw your head back, immense pleasure taking over you as he absolutely destroys your insides. “yeah you wanna cum?” he taunts you as you nod quickly. “be a good girl and cum for me, bet he could never make you cum like this huh” his thrusts deepen even more, feeling like there’s a meaning to each thrust.
and before you know it your walls are pulsating around him as you squirt, liquid covering his pelvis and the top of your skirt “ah! shit”he slams himself even deeper this time with a grunt, emptying his balls almost straight into your womb. “never speak to that fucking guy again, got it?” his eyebrow raises , you nod hesitantly at his almost harsh words. “
good girl, maybe come sit with me in the back of class, find out how good you are at staying quiet hm?”

Part Two of my Movie SonAmy Headcanons!
-The first time Amy hugs him, Sonic is like “Were we allowed to do that?” because there are feelings involved for him on top of the fact that it took him a long time to get used to hugs(as we’ve seen in the beginning of sonic2 when he offered to fist bump instead of hugging Maddie and Tom). After a while though he isn’t so reluctant to hug her back/ initiate the hug.
-Complimenting normally isn’t a competition. But it is for this two idiots. They always try to one up each other. Usually Sonic is the one to throw in a compliment first then get flustered about it later, because that boy’s words don’t pass through his brain before he says them. For Amy, she gets flustered, she gets angry that Sonic embrassed her, she takes her revenge by complimenting him better as if that’s a thing (it is now).
-They both talk too much. One day Sonic made the mistake of yapping for hours with her on the phone near a sleep deprived Tails who was working on an invention. No one has ever seen Tails that furious at Sonic and probaby won’t ever.
-They play with each other’s quills. Sonic is amazed how fluffy and soft her quills are, and Amy helps him manage his better.
-Amy loves painting, unfortunately for her Sonic also loves painting. (Read: drawing those spiky small creatures, one pink and one blue, that he calls hedgehogs all over her canvas, accompanied by hearts. She can’t decide if he is that romantic or just trying to tease her.)
-Sonic and Amy loooove to gossip, even though Sonic denies ever doing that. They (he) first start with family members, Sonic telling her every single thing like how Tom talks to Donuts and Knuckles turned the living room into a gladiator pit. Then they branch out to the town lol.Like who bought that house on the end of street or the ladies who have an argument whenever they cross paths.
-Amy is a bit uncomfortable when Maddie examines her so Sonic always offers to go first whenever Maddie decides to check up on every kid.
-Amy loves romance movies, Sonic doesn’t.Despite forcing himself to stay awake through the movie he always dozes off, and Amy decides to watch only the best ones with him to spare him.
-Sonic occasionaly brings her flowers but stops after she tells him she loves them more when they are alive. He admires her love for nature, and she appreciates his gesture, even more so when he respects her opinion and stops right away.
- Sonic calls her Rosy, especially when she blushes because of her rosy cheeks.
-Amy finds her catchphrase “Have no fear Amy Rose is here” after she learns that he has one, and she looooves the idea.
- Amy reminds Sonic of sunflowers, and Sonic reminds Amy of dandelions.
- They have no idea how to flirt even though everyone says they already do.
-When Sonic talks non-stop with his family and Amy, he sometimes gets self-conscious because of way she intently listens to him, nodding at his every word. He always stops talking abruptly and averts his gaze whenever this happens, then only continuate when someone reminds him he has been talking
- Amy teaches Sonic that waiting and taking things slow to see every little detail is good sometimes, and Sonic shows her the thrill of living fast.
This is all for now! Let me know if you’d like to see more!

*pokes your in your head*
Eva headcannons today, queen?
Eva headcannons queen?
Eva Headcanons:
• She's from a town called Sopron originally, which is a city in Hungary on the Austrian border. She loved it there, but her father's job offered him a better paying position in Canada, which is why they moved. Eva was sad but also she didn't have many friends so saying goodbye wasn't hard for her in school. It was saying goodbye to her grandparents and cousins that got to her.
• She moved to Canada when she was six.
• Her mother's name is Renata Doman, and her father's name is Antal Doman
• To help her make friends, her mom enrolled her in many clubs and activities. One being gymnastics and another being the Girl Guides of Canada.
• She excelled at activities in the Girl Guides of Canada but had some troubles when it came to being social and the selling of the cookies.
• She was bullied when she was younger, and it really got to her. But it was when she saw her parents getting bullied by their then neighbors that she got angry. She didn't know what to do with all the anger and sadness, but she found dedicating herself to her gymnastics and begging to be put in MMA.
• She quit Girl Guides of Canada but still has a love for the organization in her heart and often buys many boxes of cookies when she can to send to local charities/homeless shelters
• The first time her anger got the best of her was when a neighbor started yelling at her dad, and her dad tried to resolve whatever issue the neighbor had. Then the neighbor swung at her dad, and that was that. She immediately punched the guy in the crotch and flipped him. They never had problems with that neighbor after that, but some nasty rumors about her started floating around, and eventually, she got in so many fights that her family had to move or so she believed.
She felt so bad that she completely broke down, and her parents told her that while they preferred, she didn't fight people they appreciated her protecting them. They moved because of the neighbors themselves and how many were willing to fight their ten year old. Or just provoke her, which didn't sit right with them. Plus, they were tired of the neighborhood.
• She's decided to try harder to make friends because she didn't want to worry her parents, so she tried out for a lot of sports since she had to transfer schools due to them moving to a different neighborhood. One that was closer to her father's building. (He told this to Eva so she wouldn't feel bad about the move. It was true, but the new neighborhood was a bit pricy, and he wasn't making that much money just yet, so Eva's mom had to get another job on top of her usual job of housekeeping until she could secure a job as a nurse. Which she did about two years after their move.)
• Eva was recruited as a stunt worker when she was 12! And it was completely by accident. She was at her gymnastics gym practicing in a designated corner, seeing as some film company wanted to borrow their equipment to practice a stunt. The owner of the building agreed so Eva and the other members of the gym had a designated part in the gym to practice in.
• Eva had watched intently at the stunt they were trying to get this girl her age to do over and over again. She had watched as who could only be the stunt coordinator, demonstrate once more what the stunt had to look like before a break was called. It was hard not to hear this woman who looked like the girl's mom yelling at someone who looked important about the stunt being too dangerous for her baby. The important person yelled back that maybe she shouldn't have lied about the daughters supposed stunt skills on her audition sheet.
• Eva got bored of the drama and decided to try the stunt herself she had a pretty good understanding of it. Little did she know that the stunt coordinator had seen her. She was immediately asked/demanded to do it again, so she did. The important person turned out to be the director of the film, and before she knew it, Eva was hired to do the stunt work for the little girl since they looked similar enough.
• Eva only took the role and begged her parents to let her so she could help with money. From there, she had an agent and occasionally stared in action films as a stunt double.
• Her mother always made sure it never interfered with her schooling, though.
• Eva has been on almost every sports team at her school. From basketball, to rugby, to field hockey, to volleyball, etc.
• She actually adores cute or "girly" things, but she has trouble expressing it as she feels like it goes against her usual image. Also, because those things are sometimes sadly seen as weak and she doesn't want to give anyone the impression she is weak. She cultivated her strong image, and as much as she loves cute and girly things, she doesn't want to damage her image.
• Eva honestly didn't think she had an anger problem until she watched herself back on Total Drama Island. Neither had her parents until then, too. It took Eva admitting she felt like she was always angry or waiting to be angry that had her parents enroll her in anger management classes and therapy.
• The anger is definitely because to her, it's better to be angry than hurt by her other emotions. To her, if she's not angry, she or those she loves can be easily hurt. And yeah, it does stem from her being severely bullied when she was younger and witnessing her parents being bullied and discriminated against.
• She doesn't express it often, but she's grateful for TD because she made actual friends there in Noah and Izzy. She didn't have friends before the show and she thought she was fine, never having friends. That was until she found Izzy, Noah, and eventually Owen.
• She had her first sleepover after Action. It was better than she had imagined. It was at Noah's house, and to her surprise, Noah's mom, Abbi, made fast friends with her mom and dad. Turns out they lived in the same city, which made it easy for them to have family dinner.
• Yeah, family dinner! Abbi basically adopted them, and now Noah's nieces and nephews called her Auntie Eva, and all his sisters called her Baby Sis. Eva could admit it made her bust in tears. She didn't know how much it would mean to her nor to her parents. She had never seen her mom cry so much, not even from what she could remember when they left Sopron.
• Even Abbi's sisters and brother refer to her as their new niece. It's nice...actually it's wonderful.
• No surprise, but her favorite movies are action films.
• Her favorite food is called Hideg meggyleves, which is a cherry soup that is served cold and sweet.
• Eva does have a sweet tooth. But she limits herself with how many sweets she can have.
• She loves animals but gets sad because many don't like it when she approaches because she scares them. Nana loved her, though, and she would die for the golden lab.
Here's just a little!

Hrm. I'm aware that there's a common narrative that Ward suffered from wb steering the text to directly respond to people who gave Amy too much credit. I've already given my thoughts on the way Amy's character has been handled so far—I certainly understand how people would see Amy's increasing propensity to give weak excuses to her actions and read them as wb strawmanning their own reactions to the text. Strictly speaking though, it didn't have to be read that way— its possible, for instance, that Amy's development was driven by wb really wanting Breakthrough's struggles with becoming better people to be contrasted against a villain who's too prone to abdicate responsibility to grow. I have my misgivings about that as a theme, but it is in line with the broader focus of the text, and doesn't rely on an assumption that wb is writing her that way to pwn commenters.
Eric though. Eric really does just seem inexplicable unless you read him as wildbow getting frustrated at certain parts of his fanbase and wanting to dress them down. At least when Amy gave weak justifications for herself, it was for herself—there's a legible reason why she'd do it in the first place. And as I said, it served a thematic purpose of contrasting Breakthrough's attempts to get better by taking responsibility for their actions with Amy spiraling from a refusal to do the same. What similar thematic purpose is Eric showing? What purpose is he serving at all, outside of claiming that people who "defend" Amy are the type of people who don't face real hardship and stare at women's boobs?
The type of defense here is important to note, because the main thing he does is push back against Victoria reading everything Amy does in the worst possible light. This is behavior that makes sense in a comment section when you're trying to detangle your own feelings about a character from a narrator who has a justifiably hostile perspective towards her. It's not the behavior of someone responding to a current crisis event. And it's not the behavior of someone talking to Victoria rather than other readers, considering how obvious Vicky makes it that there's history between her and Amy. Yes, the oddity of that reaction is to some degree intentional, in that its supposed to make Victoria feel increasingly alienated from those around her—but Eric also seems to be getting posed as a synecdoche for non-capes in general here, a representative of a common type of thinking, rather than a wackadoodle who choose a very bad time to defend a stranger's intentions.
On that point. I don't think that wildbow is fully uncritical of Victoria's tendency to fully dehumanize some of her more heinous enemies, or her tendency to see the unpowered masses she's nominally acting in service of as just not understanding the Great Sacrifices™ and Tough Choices™ of their protectors. Ward has flirted with those attitudes in the past, but there's usually enough tension in the framing to suggest it's not fully the intended takeaway. And I don't want to overstate my case, because even here the framing pushes against some of what Victoria takes away from Eric—its made clear that Victoria's in a particularly ugly state of mind right now. The characterization of Larue right afterwards pushes back somewhat against her attitude towards non-capes, and the conversation with Jessica made the idea of seeing Amy's perspective on an issue, and the idea of denying a villain's full responsibility for their actions, seem less ridiculous on its face. Reading Eric's inclusion in the best possible light, I'd see him as the text introducing certain ideas in an unflattering light in order to make Jessica's later reaffirmation of the theme that everyone can act horribly in the right circumstances hit that much harder.
But Eric really feels like who'd you write when you wanted to complain about the bleeding hearts. His presentation is much more what I'd expect from a jingoistic action flick, the most unflattering caricature of someone who wants basic limitations on the actions of cops and soldier. Very "decadent ivory tower cultural relativist who wants you to consider the drug lord/terrorist/rapist degenerate's point of view," who's putting obstacles in the way of the action hero's righteous and necessary cleansing crusade against the subhuman hoards. Why the fuck is a character made to support the worldview of Dirty Harry or the fucking Turner Diaries in a wildbow novel?
#mals says#wildbow#parahumans#mals reads ward#dont think it needs to be specified but to be clear im not calling wb a nazi

Os leaned back in his seat, simply looking at her as she spoke. Everything about her so vulnerable, afraid of when he might just up and leave again. He was beyond stupid to believe it would be a clean break, that anger would be the only factor in question. He was blinded by his own fear, his judgement clouded, that he factored the only emotion he was predictable to him. It was easy to stew in anger, to let it sit and fester. It's all he knew. Well, it was, until he met Violet. He never loved someone that way. He never really cared to, but somehow, she managed to wreck his senses in the best way possible. "I love you, too, Violet." He couldn't control the way his lips twitched into a smile, briefly looking away from her. Great, embarrassment, perfect timing. Top it off with his dumbass smile as well, but he couldn't quite help it. He returns his gaze to her, ready to try to reassure her while still being truthful. "I broke your trust, in the worst way possible, I know I have to earn it back...if I can." He clears his throat, rubbing the back of his neck anxiously. "I know my words are empty right now, but I have every intention to earn that back." He crosses his arms against the table, leaning forward, locking his gaze with hers. "I don't really know what happened to me outside the police station, but the reality that I was going to lose you hit me harder than anything ever has." His voice shakes at the memory, those same feelings bubbling up in his chest. "And realising and seeing how much I've hurt you...I don't ever want to do that again." He could feel those familiar tears start to sting at his eyes again. "So, I'm not going to lose my only last chance with you, and I'll take however long you need to prove that to you."
there's a part of her that wished maybe he didn't remember. that she could just kick him out and not face this right now. maybe she should have kicked him out last night. but violet knew that's not really what she wanted at all. when a silence lingered on them, violet had to look away from him. actually eating some of the breakfast on the plate in front of her. when he finally spoke again, she drew a breath, steadying herself as she watched os fumble through his words. his earnestness was undeniable, but it didn’t ease the knot in her chest. her thumb rubbed a slow, nervous pattern against the edge of her plate as she tried to sort through the whirlwind of thoughts crashing around in her head. she wanted to say something comforting, something that would make this easier for both of them. but none of it was simple. when he admitted that he wanted to be with her, that he'd stay or leave depending on what she needed, her heart twisted in a way that was both painful and relieving. the part of her that was still angry wanted to call bullshit. but then there was the part that remembered how it felt when he was close. the part that never wanted to let go in the first place. "i want to believe you," she said finally, her voice steady but soft, carefully controlled. "and i do, a little... but i’m scared too, os." she looked down at the table, not quite meeting his gaze. "you say you won’t run, that you want to be here. but you’ve already left once. what happens next time you get scared? if we have a fight and things get hard?" there was no accusation, only a raw uncertainty that she couldn’t shake. "i love you," she admitted quietly, the truth slipping out again despite every instinct telling her to protect herself. violet looked back up at him. "so much that sometimes it feels like my chest is going to explode." and she didn't want to feel sad anymore. she already had too much trauma and emotions to deal with and the only person that helped her forget about all that was os.

Branch being the mouse in Bridget’s Cinderella story is adorable I love it so much
And Bridget and Poppy are both similar and different enough that it’s easy to see her and Branch getting along super well
Oho, fun little factoid about Poppy's route in Little Mouse: Creek gets shoved into Gristle's mouth as in canon (unlike in Between where I'm still deliberating as to whether that'd happen), and, with no Branch to tell her that Creek's dead, there's nothing stopping Poppy from going after him first!
She even gets to witness him pleading for his life! But surely, since he didn't actually get to go through with any betrayals and surely, since he was so clearly terrified he couldn't have possibly meant it, right? And now Poppy's got a buddy to help her find the others! But Chef notices that Creek disappeared... maybe she thinks Gristle ate him for real, maybe she suspects tiny footsteps in the walls...
#ask zaz#brown-sugar-licorice#dreamworks trolls#little mouse au#poppy trolls#creek trolls#creek is. look when he's removed from the whole ''trapped by two bergens and was just seconds away from being masticated to death''#then like. you really think he's gonna go right into ''i need to betray everyone else'' mode again?? in front of poppy??? who's expressed#her intent to try and see the best in him???#yeah creek's still a shit but like. he gets a few nice moments in front of poppy#meanwhile the snack pack are making new frens!!! yay!!!!#branch would beg to differ on the ''frens'' part tho#but that's just part of his charm 😌

s2 episode 13 thoughts
so i read the description of this episode and i was thinking to myself, yeah, this one seems believable. i keep loosely acquainted with the drama of the funeral world, and after learning of the harvard morgue scandal of last summer, i was like. well. the truth echoes art, i guess.
but that was the POINT of the episode- that the real world is scary, even without vampires and bigfoot!
so we begin with a funeral for a poor little girl. and it is an open casket, which is upsetting, and these little kids that i assume were her classmates are looking in. and then to make it even MORE upsetting, this creepy man working the event shows up and starts... touching her hair...
boy, i hope that child actress got a fat check for that very uncomfy bit part.
next we see a man eating an ice pop in the embalming room, to which i say: king. and he's hearing some weird stuff, and who emerges but... donnie!
(donnie's the guy who was stroking her hair... and he's holding scissors... and the girl's hair is scattered all over the floor...)
donnie briefly morphed into a demon, and ice pop man banishes donnie from his realm upon realizing he cut the little girl's hair. he says "i should report you" but i don't think he actually did.
(PRO TIP: if you are in a workplace where this type of event happens, please do file a report)
anyway. agent time. they're arriving in a graveyard. and i saw a gif this morning of mulder lifting the caution tape up so scully can get her umbrella in!!! it is suuuuch a cute moment. and a tiny consolation for the agony the rest of this episode produced.
the policeman is blabbering on about aliens and says to mulder, "you know andy" and he says "no i don't" "well, he knows you" which is sooooo funny. another example of mulder being famous amongst the nerd population.
poor scully looks absolutely horrified at this little girl's desecrated body...
and while the policeman thinks it's aliens, which may be a first, mulder does not, which again may be a first, because he says he's seen cases like this before
"you okay, scully?" he asks, noticing that she is Not Okay, but seeming unsure of how to approach the situation. she insists that she is, and perhaps he accepts this at face value.
they share an umbrella <3 but whilst doing this she's deeply shaken, and says she's surprised he isn't bothered. he says he prepared himself, and i thought he was going to elaborate on what preparing yourself for a case like this looks like, but he didn't
and she's shocked that they drove all the way here for a case that isn't aliens... why did we come here then?
because he got them tickets to a football game. LMAOOOOO this man........... football date night. it does not sound pleasurable to me but maybe watching his nerdy face light up would make up for the misery. i was giggling here. he wanted to take her out and show her his culture.
okay so now we're back to donnie. he's applying for a new job. he says he used to be a cosmetologist.
NOOOOO they had to miss their game because there are more bodies dug up and violated... and since this took place in the 90's they didn't even have facebook marketplace to try and sell their tickets beforehand... this is truly a devastating loss </3
and did they show a football player with the same name as the dude who runs this show... you can't sneak that stuff by me...
scully has to walk out after seeing the pictures of the crime scene and i'm already so deeply sad for her but oh boy, past me, wait a bit and see where all this goes!
mulder says that the police need to put an alert out NOW and the policeman is all "well we don't have a whole lot of guys on the squad so it might take awhile :(" THEN HURRY??? mulder says he thinks this dude is gonna kill someone and you're gonna complain about lack of resources???? WORK OVERTIME???
poor scully is sososo shaken and mulder pops his head out to where she was sitting... he says he'll cancel their plane tickets so they can stay longer and she's just staring out into the distance... SOMEONE HELP MY QUEEN PLEASE
then we get a glasses and takeout moment as the agents come up with a profile for a guy who steals body parts from dead people
donnie sees a woman on the side of the road- a working woman, if you will- and he takes her back to his place. and this woman is sooo pretty. but he's running her a bath and marty i'm scared.
(wait i just realized i can straight up insert the reaction images i'm referring to on here)
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/de7053b72fdc3380143bb07aa2836eb8/bf07bd86b94f94fc-46/s400x600/8f6081531b19107152453ab0f09dc5104511871f.jpg)
HE IS OBSESSED WITH HAIR... first the little girl's, and now he asks this woman if she needs shampoo for chemically treated hair...
he goes to take a phone call- congrats, you got the job- and she sees his room is FILLED with wreaths from funerals. and she might be naked but i was still yelling at the screen GIRL YOU NEED TO RUN!!!!!!
well. we cut to body time. so we know how that went. it is a spectacularly bloody body. and our freak has escalated from desecrating graves to killing real people.
mulder wants to go look at the body and asks scully to come but she can't bring herself to do it. WHY IS NO ONE NOTICING THE STRESS SHE IS IN. HOW CAN WE TAKE STEPS TO AID HER.
(i think that mulder is trying his best to Not Make A Big Deal out of her visible distress to make her feel better, and instead just gives her space and respects her lack of desire to discuss the whole thing. because there is no way he doesn't actually notice)
now donnie is on the job as a grocery deliveryman. which i am familiar with as i do use doordash occasionally. but the woman whose house he's delivering too just. LETS HIM IN??? to pack up the groceries. is this how the job worked at the time... can anyone confirm or deny... because i'm trying to imagine welcoming the doordash or instacart guy coming in and putting the food away for me... and i feel my skin crawl... what a textbook murder situation...
and if that isn't bad enough, the woman tells donnie they have 3 daughters and leave the backdoor open........ this does not bode well for the plot....
he asks to go to their bathroom and he digs through their trash to find a clump of hair and he SNIFFS it and then pockets it... we need someone to deal with this man with a QUICKNESS.
scully is in autopsy mode now, and unlike her usual very professional self, she looks like she is going to pass out conducting this one. which is remarkable because she has seen some nasty stuff, but this is what puts her over the edge.
in her report, she's writing about how every autopsy tells the story of a life, and that being killed for someone to take a piece of your body is perhaps the most dehumanizing death imaginable
someone who saw this freak donnie says that he looked like an ordinary guy, so this is gonna be a tough search. so mulder is going into deep psychoanalysis mode, saying it must be driven by a very intense hatred of women. which seems fair. i'll trust the oxford trained fellow.
now donnie is in class and he sees a woman and we know what's coming, but when he approaches her and tries to get creepy, she kicks him away and manages to run!!!! thank god honestly we could use a victory.
the phone wakes up scully from a nightmare where she sees the same demon we saw earlier and also SHE was the one on the autopsy table- but mulder says they have a suspect at the station. and i'm like, yes! they're gonna get him!
but it isn't him that they get! they brought someone else in, and we SEE donnie watching their interview moment and this was the narrative taunting me
mulder can no longer try and ignore scully being so on edge, and he says "scully, if you're having trouble with this case, i want you to tell me" and my first reaction was, king, do you have eyes, she has been about to collapse this whole time. but now i see he is doing the best he can to put the ball in her court, and yet she STILL denies it. lies straight to his face.
"i'm not having trouble", she says <- okay so we all see that this isn't true but i respect that he's trying to be mindful of her boundaries. however i would have been like hey queen let's get you out of here <3
"i just don't want you to think you have to hide anything from me", he says, and i kiss each of my fingers like i just savored a delicious meal, because that is EXACTLY what i wanted this man to say. mmm angst. just what i had ordered.
so donnie is asking the guy who DID get questioned what they were talking to him about, and what their names were, and he remembers scully's name because she has the same name as a baseball announcer i guess? and then they let the donnie go -_-
she goes back to DC to get a fingerprint read on the body but says something about maybe not flying back to the case that night... she did NOT want to be there!!!!!
at this point we learn that the FBI has an on sight therapist, which honestly makes perfect sense... but man. this scene.
she's referring to herself in the second person, talking about how you have to become used to seeing death in med school and in fbi, and she's distancing herself to try and cope. and the therapist brings up losing her father and her coma, and asks if she feels uncomfortable with her partner, and she's like no, i trust him with my life.
wow. that's incredible. but!
"i don't want him to feel like he has to protect me"
and i cannot imagine a world in which mulder, the protector, would ever NOT try and guard those he loves like some sort of snarling beast. but she must still feel horrible after just coming out of a coma, and he had been so scared to welcome her back, let her come on the missions, she had to PROVE herself, and she can't make herself feel guilty knowing he'll see her as something to protect.
(as if there was ever going to be another way)
so yeah i was basically barking at the screen here.
she says she's lost faith, and she needs it back. and where do you get faith these days?
but, while she was away, they found a print. she calls mulder to tell him this and decides that she'll fly back that night.
"anyway, you could use my help" "always" <- what if i started crying.
but someone called for her while she was away... and i knew it was that donnie freak........... foreshadowing....
so the agents trace the prints to donnie and bust into his house, where they find his endless funeral wreaths and even a FINGER in the fridge, but no donnie
and this is just as scully is arriving from the airport AND DONNIE IS STALKING HER. and i wrote, donnie, i will get u with my bare hands.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/6c925ccaab8a01a69fdf1808764b5830/bf07bd86b94f94fc-46/s400x600/151bbbc42fa4c2e99f017972cd3abf8c0b4d4866.jpg)
and he HITS HER CAR and DRIVES HER OFF OF THE ROAD and then mulder comes to the scene and they find her car but no SCULLY
back at donnie's place, he is running a bath and my screen was dark enough to see my face in the reflection and it could best be described as looking like that dizzy emoji. "oh girl i am UNCOMFY", i wrote, but in a sort of horror way that you expect from the genre.
she's tied up in his closet and sees him as a DEMON again which is more evidence that she has had to endure SO MUCH and i'm getting duane berry flashbacks with the gag in her mouth and i'm feeling a profound level of defensiveness for a person who does not exist
mulder is stressed, there are no witnesses, and he's pissed, he says "there are people that can videotape police beatings on darkened streets, they manage to spot elvis in 3 cities across america every day, but no one saw a pretty woman being forced off the road in her rental car"
AUGHHHH his bloodhound nature, need to find answers, is kicking in again.
(and also he thinks she's pretty)
so back at donnie's place, he is approaching rapidly with a knife, and mulder is sleuthing. the car they found was donnie's mother's car, so maybe they're at donnie's mother's place... but he is PICKING UP THE KNIFE AS MULDER SPEAKS
he ASKS ABOUT HER HAIR to properly shampoo it which is SO FREAKY but she manages to BREAK AWAY by shoving him into the tub. yes yes those FBI agent skills are kicking in!!!
shes hiding and he yells "there's no way out, girly girl" which briefly took me out of the scene because i just know that he would have said "girly pop" if the writers had their hands on that phrase and it was distracting but still. STILL.
she's hiding in the closet and he opens the door and she SPRAYS HIM WITH ROACH SPRAY and runs and they're tussling about when...
MULDER BREAKS DOWN THE DOOR and sees her!!!! he's calling for paramedics while the policemen take care of donnie
and the first thing she says to him is "i'm okay", reassuring him despite her awful situation, perhaps referring to her mostly uninjured body, but she's shaking like a leaf, and she just keeps saying that she's fine, she's fine, until he lifts her chin up to look at her face...
and she starts SOBBING into his chest. he's got his fingers in her hair and he's mumbling "it's okay" to her again and again and. i could feel my heart melting. i was a mere puddle of a human being at this moment. it's okay. it's okay.
there is something i think you will understand that is so rich about seeing characters hit their breaking point. it tells the audience so much about them- here we see that scully's biggest fear is the evil that lies in the ordinary, in the idea that anyone could be a monster, that this is a world of constant fear, and how do you try and rationalize the things that humanity is capable of doing? how do you walk down the street knowing that someone, anyone that passes you by could be a devil, metaphorically speaking? and she doesn't have the luxury of believing that it could be some outside force- some aliens, or evil vampires- manipulating people into doing their bidding, like mulder does. she knows that it is flesh and blood people that she sees everyday at the grocery store or next door or even those she autopsies, that do horrific things. and that there is a capacity for that in anyone, and no way to keep yourself or those you love entirely safe. what is there in this cold world of facts if there isn't faith? and again, where do you get more faith when you run out?
(and, of course, her deep and terrible fear of needing protection. needing to rely on someone that isn't just herself. of inadequacy. how scary that must be for a person who sees the terror in the rest of the world)
so yeah. love to see a character break. and i love it even MORE when we get to see someone they love comfort them. hurt/comfort trope remains undefeated.
the episode ends with mulder writing the case report and talking of very similar things as i just rambled on about- about humans being demons, and demons being what humanity comes up with to explain that- but this is delivered over a slideshow of donnie's childhood pictures to emphasize how he was just the boy next door, except that honestly he looked like young sheldon. so i was a bit taken out of the whole thing.
so yeah. this episode did not leave me with the warmest and fuzziest of feelings, but in terms of horror it was definitely one of the scariest so far, again because the entire lack of supernatural causes. i mean you could choose to interpret that this guy genuinely WAS a demon, but i think that defeats the purpose of the episode and scully's character study we get as a result. i was spooked, but we still had some good moments, such as attempted football date.
overall, i thought this episode was great. and we could talk about how the creepy killer was super queer coded, and discuss if this was done in bad faith, which could be an interesting conversation- but i find it not entirely relevant to the overarching theme. like, the scary part was that he wanted to keep your fingers, not that he called scully "girly girl", and i didn't get the sense that those two things were being equated in the episode.
now give me 10 beach episodes, or perhaps a journey to a museum, or a spa, or the mountains, or an ice-skating trip with matching scarves worn by our agents, or a day at the mall. really i don't ask for a lot!
#scully my beloved#and mulder also my beloved who is doing his absolute best#trying to think what i would do if i were in his situation because you KNOW scully does not want someone to feel bad for her#and trying to tell her to stay away from the case will only piss her off even if you genuinely have the purest of intentions#and she's too smart to try and trick by saying “oh they need you back at hq to do this certain thing”#so yeah i see why he did what he did. tried to let her talk about it on her own. why would she lie to him after everything?#sigh. but she does! they're so entangled within each other#can't tell him she's scared because he'll worry. can't tell her he can see she's scared because he'll come off overbearing.#hopefully after this they will COMMUNICATE in an honest manner#like y'all have seen each other shot and in comas and soaked in blood. feelings r gonna be okay i promise.#juni's x files liveblog#2x13#the x files#txf

Things that could've improved UTY:
Keeping the deja vu effect that Undertale had and have it influence how the main characters interact with Clover/Clover's flavor text in certain areas
Make Flowey operate as the Hint System, where almost all of his "helpful advice" are just thinly veiled insults directed at the other characters/are further attempts to isolate Clover from everyone else
#undertale yellow#don't get me wrong i enjoyed the game but that doesn't mean i don't have criticisms#I REALLY wish that there was deja vu in the game. especially after doing a no mercy run. I'd love to see Martlet react to Clover#after they completed a no mercy run. doesn't have to permanently ''break'' the game like in original UT but i still would've#liked to have seen something.#and as for flowey? he's supposed to be the character whose seen/done EVERYTHING in the Underground#i wish he would try to flaunt that knowledge and use it to manipulate clover's feelings about the other characters#but if you listen to him it just makes things worse. like imagine doing the rabbit-scarf and flowey tells clover that it's a waste of time#slurpy was triple dog dared into doing it when everybody knows what happens when you lick metal when it's cold out.#leave him. it's natural selection at this point. and if you choose to listen to Flowey then you miss out on the best armor at that point in#the game.#or he's like ''starlo isn't as cool as you think he is. he's hopelessly in love with Ceroba yet doesn't have the guts to ask her out.#you shouldn't bother looking up to someone like him whose a coward at heart'' and yet it's Starlo who comes to Clover's rescue#in a Pacifist Run. and so on.#thus furthering the idea that out of everyone clover meets flowey is the one with the worst intentions for them.#*rabbit-scarf side quest

you make really good points, I think I used the term karmic wrong sorry. I think of it more as not how I personally think he deserved all that happened to him (which thinking back os exactly what karma means, I messed up sorry), but as his fate being directly tied/parallel to anyas. I handnt noticed the toxicity of jimmy and curlys relationship, from the first playthrough I watched and the first interactions I had w fandom I saw so many ppl just. dismiss the terror Anya went through and focus too much on him as the "ultimate victim" and that just didn't sit well w me. I really dislike seeing ppl go "oh well nothing could've been done" I think it's much more complex than that. also I forgot to mention in the last ask that I really appreciate you bringing the point that this game isn't just about the harm of patriarchy but also very very critical to capitalism, I haven't seen too many ppl touch on this. I hadn't thought too deeply about how it makes "he deserved to become disabled as punishment" come up and I agree that's really messed up. I'll try watching a playthrough again with all of this in mind. but either way thanks! I really appreciate your answer 🫶🏼
I guess this is just part of being in a fandom like this. I've noticed a lot of people don't actually see posts outside of their curated view. So some people only get like anya posting or jimmy or curly and it can make it seem like that is what is saturating the conversation.
I mainly just follow the general tags and look for anything new because I'm like obsessed but I know some are only looking for what they want or believe to be the case and can get weird about other ideas.
Sorry if I came off mean its just a last few of the asks have been like circular conversations like this and its not draining per say but seeing all the nuance and details get overlooked to fit a straightforward and basic narrative really sucks cause there's a lot to explore character and theme wise.
#its like idk i feel like im yapping about the same stuff over and over and over again cause people confuse simple on paper with simple in#execution or like without the human factor like idk sometimes to humanzie Anya people dehumanize the other characters to an extent#which is also part of the systemic problem because by dehumanizing people you take away from the awareness like idk the statements#that curly was the captain and just a guy like have to exist together hes like an okay find decent even good captain just not great#hes not exceptional and i think a lot of people are acting like the game said he is when thats just jimmy like Swansea and Anya see that he#just a guy under everything else hence why they dont feed into the vitriol jimmy tries to serve about him crashing the ship and how they#talk to him pre crash even with anya i feel like people are so focused on trying to see what jimmy doesnt that they are adding intention w#where there isnt not even on like she cant be this scale more so you are treating this like everyone in this game is doing some secret gran#gambit when they are just trying to surviv in really back circumstances like having anya respond to jimmys behaviro through the#fawn effect isnt making her a weak depiction its a real response that can coexist with purposeful action because she is clearly scared of#Jimmy even if she hates and thinks he's incompentent like shes not gonna roll over for him but shes gonna be docile in his presence so he#doesnt create a reason in his head to lash out at her like people simply cannot combine concepts to create the complex responses we see in#the game and idkn why its so hard because not every statement contridicts like Jimmy is a monsterous asshole can exist with how#systematic oppression and social enabling create/allow people like him to do their worse cause at the end of the day he chose to do#everything he did despite other options vs the others trying to figure out the best option for all whether that was the best or not like#he dug his own grave vs the others sorta being lined up in front of theirs and shot like this is more interesting to me than him just being#like idk cartoonishly evil and gross and why cant concepts stakes like fitting aspects together is fun its like the worlds shitties puzzle#mouthwashing#mouthwashing game#anon#ask#ur fine anon im just insane and get frustrated easily when i think im explaining something bad

yknow, i find it kinda innacurate when people portray bryce as kinda really angry all the time? i think hes easier to irritate, but he doesnt actually strike me as an angry person. hes angry a lot in the series yeah, but these are very obviously when 1. he has been kidnapped and 2. he is being kinda forcefully reminded of being kidnapped. like i think that these are reasonable times to be snappy and angry. i and really, i think airy pisses him off, but i think liam pisses him off less than the fact that what he went through was Real and liam was just serving to enforce it, which was Hard to handle.
overall, hes actually one of the more socially skilled characters! he thinks fast when talking to oscar and is able to act normal AND kind to him. when amelia is unhappy about not being eliminated AND when liam is still Recovering from the events of ep 6, hes actually pretty well-spoken. in the opening of ep 7, he handles everything being fucked over by his boss VERY quietly (until hes by himself). overall i think he has MANY issues but being angry at people isnt really one of them, hes generally really good at managing things in social settings!
all of this post was a buildup though, to the POINT of this post, which is less analytical and more just what i think: once they get home, bryce and charlotte ARE friends but she is INCREDIBLE at pissing him off. she says anything and he has to go into another room to calm down
#hfjone#like look ok. bryce IS more irritable than like liam or amelia but he is not as Angry as ppl write him sometimes#and i also think post one hes even more mellow? i have my own ideas of how the characters are changed by everything bc thats pretty common#and i think hes more . idk patient? liek where before it was more social based now he like. is more patient w others#(i also just think bryce says things that SOUND mean so ppl who watch one THINK hes mean)#tho i think he is the type to say Mean things when arguing bc its his best footing in an argument#as evidenced w like... his arguments w liam#liam ALSO has a few low blows but i think theyre meant to point out where liam sees irrationality#whereas bryces have more to do w 'guhhh LISTEN TO ME... [says smth mean bc people dont LISTEN otherwise]'#AND? i think charlotte ALSO mellows out more post one#what w the likely realization that her friends were genuinely TRYING to look out for her bc they cared ab HER#and that now she also has Others that have her back very obviously#AND and the fact that she ended up in a position where she was the only one willing to pt out how fucked up the plane was after so long#point is that charlotte and bryce are both more chill post one bc it was Bad and they have New problems bc of it#but it did present them w smth that contradicted or fought against their previous sources of unhappiness#but also if u put them in a room together. they care abt each other soooo much but theres also a 50% chance#that charlotte pisses him off. another 50% chance that its intentional#(not in a mean way. theyre just like that w each other)#anyway i have no clue if this makes sense. its just been on my mind#ALSO prob gonna talk abt amelia suuuuper soon after this#sorry for clogging the tag i just rewatched one and have SOOO many thoughts

i imagine that both coop and barb liked to keep work at work. and there is in fact evidence to support this theory, mainly in the scene where coop tells henry on the phone that barb doesn't like to take work calls in the evenings and hangs up. i do not think this is something coop would do if that 1) weren't true or 2) barb didn't tell him to say that (even if that's not true/as in she like screens work calls and just wouldn't want them from an assistant lmfao). the fact that she does not say anything about this when she then immediately walks into the room and he tells her about the call would also suggest that this is an agreed upon thing/boundary barb has re: work that coop is aware of and respects, etc.
anyway. my point is idt it would seem weird at all to coop if barb didn't talk about work much at home. he wouldn't find this suspicious. in fact, he finds it very odd and unusual when she is wearing one of the pip-boys at home. this is New behavior from her. and i think vault-tec higher ups are basically directly responsible for the blurring of this line that occurs when barb enters coop's workplace not just as his wife but on behalf of vault tec. how she jokes about it being 'practically the family business'
i'm not saying this wasn't or couldn't be some sort of insidious behavior on barb's part (tho we know how i feel about villainizing barb/making her into some Big Bad manipulative bitch when absolutely nothing suggests that) to further ensnare coop into dealings w/vault-tec in hopes that perhaps he also would feel like he was in too deep to back out, but i don't think so. i think she was just pressured to deliver something that would guarantee her a spot in that management vault where her and her family would be safe.
but you can tell she's uncomfortable w/this. and that this is new for her too. but her work has become too personal to her now. her work directly affects the safety of her family, she can't not bring that home with her. she can't not let it infect her every waking thought. vault-tec is a disease and she's caught it.
#.headcanon ( looks like chaos; but there's always somebody behind the wheel )#.meta#in which i intended to make one quick statement 'barb and coop keep their work at work'#and did this instead.....#:/#anyway i think ppl forget that like. ppl can do bad and shitty things w/o being bad and shitty people#she can lie to coop's face when doing the photoshoot and have her people tell him the suit really protects against radiation#(when her behavior/look suggests this is a lie)#she can get mad at him/try to make him feel bad when he's getting mad about the no dogs thing#w/o being a manipulative conniving super villain#she's just a Human being w/flaws#reacting under an insane amount of pressure that we as viewers cannot possibly understand#are those things manipulative? yes. and coop feels like they were too.#but that doesn't mean she did them with malicious intent#she is STRESSED#she is FREAKING OUT trying to figure out how to protect her family#how she MIGHT be able to protect more people if she can#GUILTY if she is unable to do that#GUILTY about looking out for herself and her family FIRST#but i'm sorry i just cannot see her actions as anything but a DESPERATE MOTHER trying to do her best#and trying to keep secrets that she is OBLIGATED to keep on behalf of vault-tec#i joked about this being a howard family multi muse but like.#B(#i love barb

I'm watching a video essay about a game ive been interested in playing. The creator of the video, who has crossdressed multiple times, makes a "women arent funny" joke, and i suddenly realize ive never witnessed him acknowledge a woman in an uplifting way before.
I'm on a dating app for lgbt+ people. I've stated multiple times on my profile that i would rather lose an arm than recieve nudes without consent. I will be sent five dick pics for every 2 people i talk to that night.
I'm talking with my dad, who informs me he's been trying his best to learn about trans issues. He says the same things steven crowder brings up when trying to ridicule trans people. I gently but firmly correct my father and get told that ive been fed propaganda.
I'm on instagram, under the comments of a post ridiculing someone for being a misogynyst. Someone's left a comment saying "it must be hard being a woman on the internet" and i respond "it is." I will have every aspect of my appearance scrutinized as a reminder that no matter how well i pass, it will never be enough for someone with bad intentions.
I'm back on that dating app for lgbt+ people. I'm messaged by an attractive looking person, but i can see their partner prominently displayed in all but their main photo, oftentimes striking what im sure they thought was a very intimidating pose. Their bio says "looking for a third for our anniversary." I know that even if I did feel up to it, the gruff partner wouldnt approve of me because i don't pass.
I'm at a job interview for a clothing store. I tell the gracefully-dressed woman interviewing me that ever since i began my transition, i've discovered an interest in fashion, and that this job would allow me to dip my toes into the industry in a safe way. I'm told that i've reduced womanhood to a stereotype, and i can tell by her tone that i lost any chance at the job the minute she realized i was trans.
I'm at the same hospital i got facial feminization surgery in, trying to figure out what's wrong with my bowels. When the person behind the desk gives me a wristband with my patient info on it, i notice a single, lonely, letter M. I ask a nurse in private why it would say that despite me having changed it nearly a year prior. They say they have no clue, and bring in paperwork for me to fill out and have it re-changed again.
I'm living with my mom at the time. I'm new to transitioning, and decide to try my hand at voice training. It feels a bit off, but otherwise im feeling neutral toward the whole thing. I try speaking in this new voice to my mom and she laughs. Now, when people ask if i intend to voice train, i find speaking at all difficult for minutes after.
I didnt have some sort of grand message to convey by this. I just had a thought and then that thought spiralled into whatever the hell this became. Some, okay most, might call it complaining; they are right to do so.

tell your baby, that i'm your baby. (a loving family, an unpalatable desire drabble)
ft. yandere damian wayne x gn! neglected spouse reader x yandere superfam
reblogs and interactions are encouraged and appreciated.
— masterlist !
this is written in regards to one of my drabbles, i can't help but sigh at just how good the angst is for damian in this series.
because in loving family, unpalatable desire, you pretty much exclusively nickname him "dami, baby," from day one right after meeting him. you say it not in a way that you wish to overstep your boundaries at simply being his stepparent - you're aware, despite the ache in your chest admitting it, that you'll never come quite close to talia's standing in his heart, it's simply impossible with how she raised him her entire life before being dropped off in bruce's care - but because you find the boy adorable if you look past his intent at trying to murder you at every passing glance.
or maybe it's just you trying to cope with the pain of your situation, that you consider them all your beloved children, yet never being once called their parent throughout your entire marriage that breaks apart the illusion of a happy home life, that this wasn't the marriage you wanted at all; that you'll never bear a time in your life stuck in the manor seeing their genuine smiles directed at you even if you attempt to approach as patiently as possible in hopes your presence might be accepted— even if it results in awkward laughs at your cringy jokes at the dinner table, or one of damian's weapons nearly plunging the side of your head.
maybe, it's such a struggle to keep the flicker of light alive in your body whenever all your hardships fail, and all throughout you find your husband with lipstick stains all over his white collar every time he comes home that your mind forces itself to believe that with enough trial and error, maybe one of them could eventually tolerate, rather than pity you.
unfortunately, you chose damian, the one who you're convinced arguably despises you the most, of all people living or visiting the manor to run the test.
so in all the instances you chirp out his nickname, so fondly, so eminently heard across the walls of the manor, even in the spacious expanse of the gardens could your voice be heard from miles away, all because you wish to bond with him, praising his artworks with your grating voice, to give him intricate gifts you know will be discarded in the trash in front of you; you'll be met with a stubborn glare and mean comments about how he'll never consider you his parent, to relinquish your delusions at thinking he'll even let you past his walls, and how he'll never follow through the orders of a scum like you.
which is what you're forced to deal with every single day, coupled with harsh reminders of their happiness without the need for your presence beside them.
sometimes, his reactions could be his typical harsh comments, you've grown accustomed enough to differentiate what is harmless and what borders on violence; it's enough to know when to stop bothering him despite your best efforts. other times, it would be as intense as running a sword through the strands of your hair until he chops it at the end with a threat to cut off your tongue right after if you dare call him that putrid nickname again that cuts deeper than any wound.
with every trial of becoming closer to him, results in an even widening crack in your relationship with the young boy. and eventually, with enough sighs under your breath and harsh glares from him, you'll come into terms that you'll never form a cordial bond with the young boy. it's just impossible with how he views you, sheltered and undeserving because of your family's reputation of being money laundering scum.
at that period of time, you instead chose to strengthen your relationship with the reporter who saved you one day from the paparazzi's cruel interviews, the cute man from the daily planet whose name is clark kent with an even more adorable son, jon, who welcomed you with open arms and a tight hug on your stomach, muttering about how he's so excited to meet his new parent, just when you first stepped on the doors of your affair partner's home; that was enough to relinquish any anguish you felt at the manor replaced with absolute joy at what seems to be the first time you're considered the parent, part of a family, in a completely different household.
it helps erase the shadow of doubt that you may be cursed to never be accepted into an established family with just how bright, how comparable jon was to an overexcitable golden retriever, bonding with you since day one unlike all the other insufferable moments crammed into a jam-packed dinner table— only for your voice to be discarded and overpowered by others.
you start to call him your baby instead, completely in awe at the cute freckles littering his sun-kissed skin and the country boy accent he adopted from his dad. you couldn't help but hold his cheeks in your palms and kiss all over his face whilst you kneel to his level, laughing along with the giggles erupting from his throat that creates this harmonious melody in clark's ears, who watches you scoop the boy into your arms just to swing him back and forth in cuteness aggression, just how it always should've been with you.
clark pictures the moment together, capturing jon's smooshed face shadowed by your hair whilst you look at his, no, your son with inexplicable joy, eyes crinkled and shining brightly under the halo of the sunset.
and clark doesn't even have to see just much jon loves and cherishes you at first glance.
he wouldn't even dare compare you to his late mother, never once calling you a replacement or a homewrecker, placing you upon a pedestal you deserve to be instead; because let's face it, you simply live in the manor, but your true home is where clark and jon, and ma and pa kent are at. pictures of your little family are framed in your shared bedroom for you to graze your finger upon whenever you wish to reminisce the blessings bestowed upon meeting your affair partner at just by chance.
but you shouldn't have forgotten about damian that quickly, not when jon all-too suddenly shoves that photo of you in his wallet in front of his face, it made damian's mind go off in a tangent, in both curiosity and frustated yet unstated interrogations at your sudden disappearance (your grating voice don't call out to him anymore, and suddenly, the manor is quieter; he despises that feeling of emptiness more than he does of your nickname for him) then reappearance as jon's, funny, hah!
jon's parent.
and in moments of careful investigation does he realize—
when you're with jon, his best friend, when he spies in on you at the little farm you now live in, currently alone with someone whom you call your true son, that he comes to realize just how much that nickname means so much to him, as your voice, with that soft tone, scold his friend with that familiar warmth you always used to direct at him with the softest of gaze, an angel unlike the sea of rich bastards he meets at the galas who only communicate with him to form connections, advantages by being associated with a family of the wayne's.
it's only when you're stripped away from him that he realizes how much he relishes your sweet occupancy into his heart, how there's always been an unbidden, forbidden chamber in his heart that beats for the love you offer him that was unlike the harsh environment he was born in.
he's never been adorned with such a delicate title that portrays him the opposite of what he's raised to be; damian has always been the blood son, son of the bat and heir to the demon king's throne, but never something as fond, as unforeseen as someone's baby.
it just thwarts the spark of hope in his heart and extends the lump in his throat at the scene that plays before him, the loving nickname you oh-so carefully address him now relinquished and graced to another boy, his friend no less— who you considered yours, who he's aware is way more deserving of being called your baby rather than him, who had always denied you from the very start.
"jon, baby, you help me clean the windows tomorrow, alright, young man? it's stained with all your fingerprints!" you scold him as assertively as you can, kneeling down to his level and pinching his cheeks all while grinning at the boy. jon retorts with a tongue out his lips and a scrunch of his nose. it garners a laugh from you, one damian swore he's never heard sounded so desirable until now.
why are you calling jon your baby?
"not my fault, mom/dad! i get so excited to see you come home every time you have to return there!" damian seethes at the scene of jon's pouting and puppy-eyes looking up at you, that should've been him.
"can't you just stay here? forever?"
damian despises how he engraves the melody of your laughter in reply to jon's words, right into his eardrums, but omits the disgustingly sweet chirp in your voice calling jon, not him, your baby. his mind nips away at the memories at all the moments you addressed him too, and how he always rejected and corrected you to call him by his name like a proper person rather than a maniac pushing themself into his life.
he doesn't want to ever hear you address him, if it means it's not by his nickname that you now call jon.
damian couldn't even deny how the huge grin that stretches across your face at the sight of his best friend scalds him with bitterness, he wasn't even aware you're capable of such enjoyment, not when back at the manor your hesitant with even displaying a tinge of happiness— as if you're capable of doing so, not when he knows he's one of the main contributors for being the reason of your current affair.
and yet he wishes he could lie and say he didn't miss it, miss your expectant stare at him, the contrast of talia's comfort compared to yours, when the hugs you offer him, the gifts carefully curated to his preferences, the palpable love that never once wavered for your family that you could never call yours, they all seem like a distant dream now that you're away from them; from him.
it hurts watching you two communicate even further, for once it's him in the background watching like an outsider instead of you. for once, he understands what isolation feels like, what foreboding desires fester deep into his scarred soul that could only be cured with one of the softest cuddly hugs, the sweetest, flutter of your lashes as you stare oh-so fondly at jon like he meant the world to you, like it was only the two of you in the world embracing the light filtering through the windows, side by side, inseparable.
if there was one wish he could conjure, a desire he was trained to forfeit himself to feel that creeps its way into the depths of his guarded heart— it's that once you put jon into bed - even if it takes hours, even his heart feels like it's being squeezed out of blood watching your nightly, affectionate routine with jon; reading him bedtime stories, eating together, laughing lightly at the dinner table while you feed him your share of the plate, moments he never thought he felt compelled to spend with you - once he strikes at the perfect opportunity to talk to you, to confront your blunder of choosing them over him, of his woes towards your relationship—
he wishes, with unceasing faith, that you still love him enough to call him your baby once more.
a/n: let this blow up and i might just actually fix my schedule to give more updates. anyways, more damian wayne and jon kent content! one of my fave runs is with supersons and i love fluff paired with angst too so this is a win-win. pls leave in some comments about this series, since ngl i didn't give it as much love as i did for a&a 😭 so yes! mitski inspired chapter with more conflicting feelings. i'm still working around writer's block but everyone's undying support helps motivate me a lot!!!

I love imaging Dick, Tim, and Damian sneaking around trying to meet Jasons new gf because they just wanna be involved in his life and they know if they they leave it to Jay they wont meet her u til they're married with kids 😭
AND ‘omg us meeting Jason’s siblings when’
AN: Ngl I love this idea too, its so shitty of them but they have the best of intentions.
Damian
A boy no older than 14 with eyes that pierce the soul was not what you'd expected to find on Jason's couch the very first time he'd left you alone there. Jason had to dip out unexpectedly early, and had promised you run of the place until he got back so you'd slept in as long as you could and were on your way to make breakfast when you're greeted by the hell-child.
Once your initial fright wears off you realise you recognize him from a photo Jay had showed you which makes you feel slightly more at ease.
“Good morning? Damian right?” You offer as you pass him, be-lining for the coffee machine, you're gonna need caffeine if you're meeting any member of Jay's family for the first time. “Can I get you anything?”
“Alfred says it's unbecoming to sleep past 9.” Besides the initial glare he'd graced you with as you emerged from the bedroom, he doesn't even look up at you, his eyes glued to the pages of a book. Like brother like brother, you guess.
“Oh, well. Good thing Alfreds not here then.” You add a small laugh, trying to inject some humour to the situation. Damian does not respond in kind. “Is that a no? I think there's some chocolate cereal around here somewhere.”
“What do you do for work that allows you to be in my brother's home in the middle of the day?”
Jeez this kid is no-nonsense. “Or I could make pancakes, I make really good pancakes.”
“And tell me what exactly are your intentions with my baby brother?” Baby?
“I think there's some chocolate chips around here somewhere. Jason says you like chocolate. Chocolate pancakes?”
“Do you always avoid questions?”
“Are you always so intense?”
He slams the book closed and you nearly jump on the spot. He finally looks at you, really looks at you and as you stare back his features begin to soften slightly.
“I’ll have a coffee.”
You're certain from the sly look on his face that he's probably not allowed coffee. He certainly doesn't need any. But screw it, he's not your kid and if it gets him to like a little, you'll take the risk.
So you pour two coffees and join him on the couch. His questions do not cease until Jason returns about an hour later. He couldn't care less about the coffee, but he does care about Damian breaking in to interrogate his partner and immediately kicks Damian out.
Dick
Dick finds out about your existence from one of Damian’s letters, and he's subtle but pushy about meeting you. Not that you're aware. He keeps ‘dropping by’ Jason's apartment ‘just to see his lil brother’, no other reason but is told to get lost or downright ignored anytime you're there, until he decides to cut out the middle man and turn up at your home instead.
“Let me tell you, you are a hard person to get a hold of.” He informs as he invites himself through your front door.
“Um, hello Dick?” As you stare at his lush hair and sculpted abs you wonder what Alfred feeds these boys.
“Yep! I can't stay so I’ve gotta make this quick.” he gestures for you to come closer, speaking in a playful, conspiratorial whisper. “Jay doesn't know I'm here.”
That would be why he can't stay, Jason is due at your door any minute now.
“But you two seem to be getting pretty serious and I think it's important that we all get to know each other. You following?”
You nod, and he gives you the perkiest, most genuine smile. That or he has that exact look practised to a T. From what Jay tells you, either is possible.
“So, Barbara and I, that's my wife” You nod once more, you're aware of Barbara also. “have booked a table at Casa Gotica for Thursday night. We need you to get Jason there without letting on that it's a double date.”
“I don’t know.” you finally give your nodding head a break. “Jay and I don’t lie to each other.”
“Right. I can't begrudge that. Very glad to hear he's picked an honest one.” He takes a moment to straighten his thoughts, but his moment is cut short but the echo of Jason’s combat boots approaching your door. Dick’s eyes rapidly scan the room for a secondary exit before he settles on an open window. “Don't think of it as lying, think of it as omitting the truth. Whatever you have to do just be there for 6.30. Oh, and it's great to meet you!”
“You too.”
“Thursday, 6.30!”
Before you can agree he’s gone, presumably scaling the side of your building as Jay steps inside.
Tim
Tim was actually the first to be aware of you and your relationship with his brother, however, the very real possibility of being gutted by Jason for snooping in his personal life was too high for him to make a move.
But you seeking him out is a different story; or rather, you being the first to say hi when you bump into each other in line at the grocery store is different. It would be rude not to respond to your attempts at initiating a conversation.
“Hello, hi, are you Tim? You don't know me but I’m Jasons partner. Its so great to meet you.”
“I know who you are.” He states rather ominously, eyes darting around behind you. “Is he here?”
“No, but he's picking me up after.” His shoulders visibly ease.
“Cool cool cool.” He’s suddenly much more personable. “So, I hear you're into…”
That chatting doesn't dry or lul at all as the queue dwindles and both buy your groceries. He waits with you until you get confirmation from Jay that he's on his way. He's easily the chillest sibling you've met thus far.
When Jason arrives he gets out of the car to open the boot and passenger door for you as always, but not before he thrusts his phone in your face. “Where is he?”
Displayed on the screen is a selfie of Tim with you in the background, you absolutely do not remember it being taken.
