Orchid, I have a question for you.
When did you decide you wanted to become a cleric? was it fate or something you just could see yourself doing as your profession?

"Funny thing, I chose this career path because I could tell Father Syrus was... not at his best. It's also the only career I've seen most of my life... Mason didn't seem interested in showing me much of the stonemasonary at the time..."
"Much like Father Syrus, my potions are not the best, but I can contribute with other skills like healing... and.... well, I can heal people and that's a plus~"

i don’t understand how people constantly say Jonathan is a bad boyfriend, when he’s one of the only people who has ever cared about Nancy’s dreams and aspirations besides Karen. Have they had their issues? Sure, but to say he’s a terrible boyfriend when all he has ever wanted for her was the absolute best, is crazy.

When Eileen or whoever Sam's blurry wife is in a throw away line in a fic is pregnant to show that Sam's happy and doing good it kinda revolts me not gonna lie. We're really putting 2.5 kids on whatever woman shaped object is in Sam's love life? And on Sam for that matter? Who, by the end of the show, expressed zero interest in having a little baby and said he felt fulfilled by hunting, despite its downsides.
One of the reasons Sam and Eileen work well together is that they're both hunters and feel able to lean on each other in that regard, and yet pregnancy or motherhood is often the only thing we hear about Eileen in these cases. She's made into an incubator. Is the only vision of happiness she's allowed becoming Mary from the first minute of the Pilot?

A hot take here: but can we all agree that it's not an artist or actor or athlete or any other celebrities' responsibility to be a political activist on every single goddamn issue?? Like for fuck sakes guys give it a rest...I'm sick of it

What’s wrong babe? You’re thinking about Glinda’s face before she is handed the torch to light the funeral effigy of her friend? Her best friend who was fundamental to the woman she has become? The woman that she abandoned at the most pivotal moment of their lives in an act of cowardice that she has spent the rest of her life running from? Her best friend that, through her own lack of action when it counted most, is widely believed to have deserved her murder?

seeing people get preemptively mad at the fact that the possible taylor book is $45, so it feels worth mentioning that (as emily henry pointed out) that's standard coffee table book price. as in it would be a collection of photos/lyrics/essays etc as opposed to a regular memoir!

the carter farm is a cattle farm, with a dash of chickens, but that didn’t stop young kate from saying she wanted to be a barrel racer whenever she went to the rodeo growing up. the only hurdle was the lack of horse.

In my interpretation of Jane's lore, Loretta Lawrence is in fact her mother despite her infamous statement otherwise. Her base story kind of leaves it up to interpretation with the final line of her father and mother both attending her funeral ( whether that be Loretta or an unnamed woman ) , so my personal take is that Loretta held a lot of resentment for the stain on her image that Jane's open discussion of her absence left, and intended on denying it publicly as a way to save face and also squash Jane's credibility - turning the narrative of her from an absent and career-obsessed mother to an innocent victim of lying by an obsessed stranger trying to use her name for clout. While it worked for a few moments, the almost immediate missing status and assumed death of Jane led to Loretta's image being ruined even more. Especially when in the ongoing investigation, it became public knowledge that she was in fact Jane's mother from birth records and the statement of her father. cw discussion of suicide ( not actually happening )
Post-being taken, Jane's story is somewhat of a mystery, the kind of thing discussed by true crime creators talking about the "strangest unsolved cases" and such. From the public's perspective, she was humiliated on live television by someone she'd consistently claimed was her mother denouncing that fact, and that night she disappeared. Her car ( but not her body ) was found some time later, at the bottom of a lake.
The obvious conclusion was that either it was an accident or she'd taken her own life, but the lack of a body sent conspiracy theorists into a frenzy. Did Loretta have something to do with it? Was it an inside job? Was it murder, not an accident or suicide? What happened to Jane Romero? While it was mostly contained to niche communities of people who liked to discuss this, Jane's status as a household name allowed it to spread further, damaging Loretta's reputation more than she could have imagined.

Florence was a guest on Zach Braff’s podcast to discuss her career and their new film A Good Person, which is out today!
I especially loved this bit at the end about her thoughts on possibly Directing films one day:
“I’d love to be a Director. I think I need to learn a bit more. I need to soak it up. It’s such a tricky position to have, and to lead, and to be a leader on a film set. You really have to be-You have to know your shit. And if you don’t a lot of people can get, you know, twisted up by that. And I think, for me, I don’t want to go in and not know and then affect an actor badly…It’s something that you really should go in knowing that you can do it. So I think I’m just going to do a bit more learning.”

Still a little pissed with myself for not realising sooner the potential of a Scissor Seven yyh au with Shizuru, a hairstylist, as Seven, the hairstylist former teenage assassin!!
He literally fights with a pair of scissors which are so expertly animated
youtube
I got so angry I woke up in the middle of the night thinking about that parallel and the additional one that Seven just wants to live peacefully and happily, he just wants to date the pretty assassin girl and provide for his chicken family, versus Shizuru's "she's not really interested in fighting" and "focus on your studies bro it's for your future"
youtube
If you haven't seen Scissor Seven, please do!
It starts funny as heck and then hits you with the plot and the feels, quoth my sister: "I wanna go back to the start again things were so simple and carefree" "so you don't wanna watch season 5" "No I need season 5 with a patient and tortured passion"

So, some of the characters in Scarlet/Violet are shown to favor a specific kind of pokeball, and it reflects on their personality. Eri is very concerned about others not getting hurt and uses Heal Balls, Mela is impatient and uses Quick Balls, Ortega is used to a life of wealth and has the expensive Luxury Balls, etc
It's a cool idea. This is prob over-analyzing but thinking about Nemona, it's interesting all hers are just regular pokeballs, considering they made it a point that her family is fairly wealthy, AND a point of the fact Nemona is not very good at catching pokemon.
So, she has money, she could buy pokeballs with a better catch rate, but she doesn't.
I like to think maybe she doesn't want to rely on her parent's wealth, and wants to prove herself by her own worth, so she's using her own funds to get those pokeballs.
