Is kind of funny to picture Aoi delicately pealing an orange while Teru destroys the thing like a little kid.

Kou can peal it like a pro chef and Yako is a queen as always. She is beauty, she is grace.

hello!! i just saw your post about teru’s character arc and dynamic w/ mob and was blown away - i never EVER noticed the heart eye panel. i was curious if you had a deep character analysis of teru/would be willing to share your opinions on teru’s arc? at risk of sounding completely media illiterate i feel like most of teru’s arc went completely over my head watching the anime and i would be curious to hear your thoughts (if you would like to share)!

oh it's totally not your fault, a lot of teru's arc was already pretty subtextual in the manga and the anime cuts a lot of the small details that give you the context to put the whole thing together

im gonna put my own interpretation of his arc under the cut because i could literally talk about this kid for years

ok so basically, teru's starting point as a character is "im special and important because of my powers because i have to be special and important or my life is empty and meaningless"

the entire construction of his social life; his overachieving in sports, his popularity, his place as the shadow leader of a middle school gang- all of that exists to prop himself up as the main character of the world and distract himself from how crushingly empty and devoid of connections his life is. hence-

this fight is what dismantles the idea that his powers make him uniquely special and enlightened, but it doesnt really do anything to actually built an internal sense of self confidence. his realization that he is an ordinary person doesnt come with "and that's okay because everyone is", it's just a reshuffle of the heirarchy he has viewed the world as. now instead of himself > everyone, it's mob > himself > everyone.

the fact that he knows special powers don't make him special is his new point of false confidence- he isnt uniquely enlightened because he has special powers, he's uniquely enlightened because he knows those powers don't make him special

and while the 7th division arc serves some challenging of this worldview, it's not really until wd arc that it actually gets dismantled.

to...

BUT this isnt the end of it. teru's notion that he is uniquely special and important has, by this point, been thoroughly dismantled. however....

other people....

by necessity no growth can really occur within broccoli arc for anyone but mob and dimple. since everyones memories of this arc get wiped, it serves as a good setup for where everyone's characters arcs are left to go before we get into confession arc. teru has been left in a place where, while his place in the "special and important people" hierarchy has been dropped, this has left mob at the top of an unreachable pedestal. dimple's prior efforts to convert teru through force, with the cookies and insisting himself as god, were fruitless. being controlled like that only made him angry. it was only through teru's idolization of mob that he was able to replace himself in that already existing spot in teru's psyche

so going into confession arc, teru has this unshakable, almost literally godlike image of mob in his head, which leads him to the same mistake so many people in this arc have to work through.

this isnt him. he's perfect. he doesn't make mistakes. he would never lash out and hurt anyone. he would never-

once civilians are in the picture is the moment it clicks for him. and then we get this wonderful mirror that kills me to think about.

so many of the parallels in these fights (which. i dont feel like finding all of them) culminate in this. because ultimately, they are very similar conflicts. both represent the dissolution of their respective personas. confession arc is a crossroads in mob's brain: to spend the rest of his life restraining his powers and- by extension, his identity- for the sake of other people, or to let his powers run wild and push away all these people whom he sees as only liking the fake him ("mob").

the breaking point, murderous intent, the point at which this fight goes from simply trying to push the other way/push the other into fighting back, is the assertion of the other's normalness. teru pushes back with the violence of a commoner, mob pushes back with violence that can only be exerted by an esper. teru cannot accept his powers do not make him uniquely amazing, mob cannot accept his do not make him uniquely horrible- uniquely despicable- uniquely unlovable.

which brings us to heart eye panel.

because this is the moment that teru sees mob for who he truly is- for a human being with flaws who's capable of having ugly emotions and losing control and lashing out- and still loves him.

and through this teru, despite his uglier emotions, despite whatever he's done in the past, is a person who is capable of being loved. he doesnt need to be the best esper or the best at sports or the best in his class to stand out, to be paid attention, to form genuine connections.

the people close to you will love you despite your flaws, will understand when you're going through hard times, will offer support even when you push them away. they dont just love the perfect image of you you try to present, the non confrontational person who doesnt speak out for themselves, or the overachiever who's always good at everything. they love you.

Spoilers for TBHK - Especially the more recent chapters

Do you ever start thinking about stuff like how Kou and Mitsuba haven't exactly realised that this is a new/wrong timeline yet. Which is odd, considering Mitsuba is supposed to be dead (and a supernatural) and that Kou is an exorcist. Surely they would notice something is up? But, they don’t. They have the faintest clue, through “dreams” or doing things that they would do routinely without thinking about it - yet it’s not the right way of doing it. For example, when Kou set the table up for only three people (him, Teru and Tiara) instead of five people.

However, one of the biggest, glaring issues about this timeline - one that surely both of them would realise,

That Mitsuba Sousuke died. He, quite literally, shouldn’t be alive. Yet, somehow, in this timeline he is. The funny thing is, that Kou hasn’t realised yet or called it out - despite the fact that in the picture perfect arc, Kou knew something was wrong, even going as far as confronting mitsuba about it. But he hasn’t even noticed anything wrong. Even when Mistuba is going on about these dreams he’s been having during chapter 115, Kou is startled as he’s obviously been experiencing the same; he just shrugs it off, telling Mitsuba they have something else to focus on at the moment.

I know that within the next few chapters, due to Teru and Akane finding them, they’ll most likely find out about the whole timeline situation and quickly connect the dots. However, this got me thinking.

Why haven’t they realised yet?

And that’s when this one thought crossed my mind:

This timeline is something that the two of them have both practically wished for at one point or another in the story.

Let’s start with mitsuba,

Not long after he’s introduced (and dies for the second time), we find out that the wish he made to Tsukasa was for someone to remember him, or to actually have a friend; which was found in the form of Kou, who decided that it didn’t matter if Mitsuba was alive for them to be friends and realised that it was the same boy who sat infront of him during their first year. Something that Mitsuba really wanted.

And then, once he became one of the seven mysteries, he desperately wanted to become, or live a life as close to being, a human. Hence his actions during the Picture Perfect Arc. It’s clear that he doesn’t quite like what’s he became, due to his new and more inhumane tendencies. Additionally, nobody will really ever understand him despite how much anyone, including Kou, tries to help him. Which leads to his want of wanting to be human again and be able to live a normal life. A life that he can spend around his friends and what’s left of his family. A life where he’s closer to the other students, as seen through his worry for the group of younger girls in the photography club which prompted him to ask Kou to check the place out with him.

To add to this, it’s clear that if Mistuba hadn’t died (like in this timeline) that he and Kou would be even closer than they were in the original timeline. This can be seen through the fact that Kou refers to him as Sousuke a few times.

Now let’s have a look at Kou,

During the red house chapters, we end up seeing quite a few of the things that Kou really wants - his desires I guess. Amongst these wants, is two specific people.

His late mother and Mistuba Sousuke. (I do know that this version of Mitsuba that he sorts of wants is really clingy and is acting like he can only rely on Kou and that he, himself, is useless etc. However that is a complete other ramble about Kou and how he feels about Mitsuba- but I think you get the point on why I mention him-)

In this new timeline, both his mother and Mitsuba, are present and alive. The exact thing that Kou had wanted.

He doesn’t even question how they’re there. No remarks, or concerns or visible confusion. He’s acting as if this is his normal every-day life.

Perhaps this is why the two of them haven’t quite realised that this isn’t where they’re supposed to be. That this isn’t their place in reality. After all, for the first time in a while, things have gone mostly their way (even without them having any hand in causing this situation) without things being too devastating.

This timeline is practically their ideal world.

A timeline they won’t be able to stay in.

A timeline only good for them.

Once again sorry if this isn’t written too well- I just kind of get thoughts about the characters and start rambling without thinking about what I’m writing- lmao

Teruki Hanazawa and his perception of himself via Mob Psycho’s art styles

hi so I had this planned for the whole of mp100’s style but I think it’s easiest to see with Teruki so here we are

ONE’s intent with some of mp100’s themes was to poke fun at typical shonen tropes, hence why Mob is so bland in appearance, Reigen is a fraudulent mentor, and Teruki is obsessed with his rivalry with Mob that is pretty much one sided. I think the same applies to Teruki’s blonde spiky hair—he wants to be a protagonist.

Strip away the hair and you’re left with this

The metaphor about Teru’s true nature being revealed with his bald head has been done to death, but I haven’t seen anyone mention how the animators making him significantly uglier contributes to the scene. He’s ashamed of himself without his perfection! I think that the moment Teruki thinks of himself as the ugliest he’s ever been is when he nearly chokes Mob to death after only just meeting him. Whether it’s intentional or not, the style change here In My Opinion reflects how Teruki feels.

Now let’s shave him again!

Again, this may be the animator’s style, but this really makes me think of classic fighting anime aura pose things. In this case, Teruki is proclaiming that he’s Mob’s rival for life (callback to that trope) and he Definitely looks the part. I feel like in his partially delirious state he’s thinking of himself as some kind of super saiyan.

Whether or not you interpret it the same way I thought I might point this out because I Personally haven’t seen these comparisons drawn!!

SPOILERS UP TO CH27 BELOW

(not super detailed but still can ruin the experience)

I'VE FINALLY read ycit after half a year of putting it off it just because I "didn't like the idea of akane being dead&doomed" skslsks I was wayy too superstitious. anyway I'm glad I stopped being stubborn

IT WAS HELL OF A RIDE (positive) and I finished it (27 chapters at that moment) looking like nene in ch107

where do I even begin.

the amount of research and thought and love poured into the fic is INSANE. it's always so nice to feel the author's passion through the work and this one overflows with it.

am I being too sappy? I dunno, I speak what's on my mind lol!!

as I said, it's noticeable that it's written with so so much love to the characters and this love is INFECTIOUS!! I didn't know I'd get attached to aka, so fast too. it's like my thought process was almost the same as teru's all the way through chapters 0-20 lmaoo

a small digression from the main topic - the thing is, what I wait for the most in tbhk is a flashback about terukane's first meeting & how the glasses were made. ofc there's always a possibility they were made by teru just for fun and as a way to make akane owe him (although this might be ooc) but the possibility of it is thankfully really really small because teru looks at them and handles the topic very gently. too gently for it to be just a forced prank. also akane has been keeping them with him on his bead near his head while sleeping (not even the bedside table or smth! who the hell keeps their glasses with them on the bed at night?? <- comes from a glasses person)

so, especially because of teru's wording ("he said he wanted to live his life like he used to"), I've been STRESSING over the possibility of akane BEGGING teru for help there, like what if he was struggling with switching forms at first and hence wasn't seen by students? what if the clock keepers didn't explain him almost anything about the supernatural world and so he was scared and confused? what if teru cornered him there and he had to prove he's human? (by the warmth of a touch?) what if he cried? what if teru comforted him? (or tried to lol) what if there were more struggles??

and so I was soo glad to see this topic being expanded!! I know it's an au and all (and the contract's gone worse here) but what I mean is, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks about it!! reading akane's backstory was Painful As Heck but really Good.

my godd I wish the boy had some comfort. I can't look at ycit akane because I start tearing up immediately.

the attention to the smallest details!!!!

the amount of canon things implemented?? HELLO? I mean it's natural to expect a canon character act according to canon but it's the first time (I think??) I've noticed SO MUCH small facts THOUGHT THROUGH and carefully weaven into the fic to fit the narrative perfectly. sometimes they're really small and almost insignificant but it's like finding easter eggs!!! it fills me with so much joy to feel the love to the kids through the writing (I repeat it again ahahaha). teru's complicated (VERY MUCH SO) feelings towards his father, akane liking raspberry sweets, akane (and aka) liking when pride of a certain someone ( ^^ ) shatters in front of them and their facade falls, teru itching to jump headfirst into research as soon as there's a reason to mess with exorcist tools and invent something (oh I so adore this in canon I can probably ramble about this a lot), teru being eager to play in the snow, teru covering his face when he cries!!!! and that's just the things I remember right now THERE WAS A LOT MORE

it all makes me point at the screen with an "AH!!" expression and think "YES THAT'S MY BOY/GIRL!!"

YAKO AND TSUCHIGOMORI TOO!! I was so glad to see yako being involved so much and her character handled perfectly with all her traits and quirks and sillyness /affectionate hehe I love her so much and although tsuchigomori hasn't showed up as much, reading the scenes with him was a delight as well

also when I said about the passion, I meant not only the love to the fic's main cast, but also the passion to analyze the og medium itself as a whole. (am I making sense? I don't want to sound too creepy) explaining myself: take aka: his character, his quirks, his abilities, his drama, worries and experiences - for it all to be as deep and believable ( = excellent) as it is, it was necessary to take all the smallest bits about ghosts' and supernaturals' mindset we have in canon, be it hanako or sousuke or mitsuba etc, analyze it, and make aka one of their kind but still very much unique and closer to akane than to them, even though he doesn't remember being him. even if you didn't do what I said entirely on purpose, I'm just amazed by how aka is written. it's awesome

aidairo sadly have given us very little info about exorcism and supernaturals in general (I'm biting the table as we speak) and the way you still took the crumbs, thought them through, added bits here and there, and made it all work perfectly is just amazing. I was overjoyed to read about mimics, other kinds of supernaturals, how spiritual energy feels, how touching a ghost feels in detail, weakening seals, blood pacts, boundaries, etc etc. it's like it's all canon, it doesn't make the reader question it whatsoever, so well-made. I'm clapping.

the description says you've never written a teru pov before and I'd say you nailed it from the very beginning!! you understand his mindset so deeply, reading your works is the best experience. the picky bitch in my ear never goes "he would not say that" and instead is just as amazed as I am

the first chapters before the bonding are HEAVY as heck. they're extremely hard to binge read but I mean this as a good thing. they're extremely painful by just how realistically they are written, so good you can't help but sync with teru and feel the same emotions as he does. And his life is SHIT at that moment so I was SUFFERING with him both the first and the second going through the chapters :'D again though, it's not bad, it's the opposite - it makes the happy moments thrice as good and the overall bonding brings A LOT of warmth. I feel like it healed me in a way after punching me in the stomach 10 chapters in a row

also I love it so much just how much the fic focuses on teru's everyday life before the manga's main plot. I mean, well yeah, it's a 14-15yo teru pov, but still. so detailed, filled me with warmth.

seriously, the range is insane. a questionnaire, a quarrel (multiple), siblings talk, beach episode, dancing, hugging, both crying, possession?? hello?? BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! summer festival, sleeping on the other, fighting for the other, fighting together, even working in food service together (aka the thing I'd expect out of a trkn fic the least lol). the list goes on. and despite how bizarre and random it sounds out of context, nothing from it feels like a filler, everything fits into the plot perfectly. I have no words mari how are you doing that

ever since I've read the bloodpact chapter, I was worried about how encounters with mimics will go from now on because now aka can go anywhere and, how it was stated before, aka's and a mimic's energy feel the same… the boys will need to come up with a strategy of some sort (which is tricky if mimics learn from the memories) ourghh makes my head hurt! but in a good way. or will mimics struggle picking a target between aka and teru now? what if they're weaker when faced by multiple opponents because of that? that would be fortunate. anyway! mimics leap at the target eventually, so that eases the task. and whether the boys encounter them or not, they will have each other's backs, and it warms my heart.

I've wanderend off the main topic again, oops. as you see, the fic made me think of all sorts of things lol and it's an incredibly good sign.

what if teru did take a picture of the swing set in ch13…..... ourghh I don't even know if it'd be better or worse...... it's over now though, so I'm glad either way

Yandere Teru Minamoto x Reader

Reader is helpless and at mercy of Teru.

A/n: Based on something I wanted to explore while reading the manga. This is my first oneshot so feedback is appreciated!

You were a supernatural in the school, not of the level of the seven mysteries but still there. You had managed to remain unnoticed by most of the students and didn't bother interacting with anyone, even your fellow supernaturals. You were simply happy to drift aimlessly in the abandoned school building.

But your days of peaceful existence were threatened when you fell under the radar of Teru Minamoto, the second year student council president, the strongest exorcist and the bane of the supernaturals in the school beyond, whom even the seven mysteries feared. You knew of him, you had even seen him but you considered yourself lucky to never have crossed paths with him before.

Unbeknownst to you, he had been following you from afar, keeping tabs on you: the places you frequented in the school, what you did, whom you interacted with, how much of a threat you were. He slowly started becoming obsessed with you, the more he observed you. You were frail and weak, devoid of any significant powers, you couldn't hurt anyone even if you wanted, he knew that and your helplessness fueled something in him.

Despite his exorcist tendencies possessing him to slash you on sight, he couldn't help but find you beautiful. Almost ethereal. A darkness consumed him that made him want to break you, to claim you as his own...to even keep you safe, against his better judgement.

You were drifting across the abandoned corridors of the old school building when suddenly you heard footsteps behind you. You turned to find yourself face to face with the exorcist himself, a closed-lip smile dancing on his lips. You froze with fear, your eyes widened at his sight as you senses your impending doom.

"Teru Minamoto... you're the famed exorcist." Your voice was soft.

His eyes twinkled. "My, I'm glad that you've heard of me. Y'know," he took a step closer to you. "I haven't seen a supernatural as pretty as you. Such a shame, makes me almost wanna..." He let the words float in air.

You didn't hear anything he said and simply made a run for it. But before you could go further, you felt a beaded chain clasp around you and you collapsed to the ground as you felt a tug of the chain. From your position on the ground you could see the chain was attached to Teru's wrist, you realised it was the chain he used to capture supernaturals. You heard the soft clink of his sword getting unsheathed and within a second he had dug the sword on the ground, escaping your head by mere inches. Faint, dark electricity sizzled as it sensed you. He towered over you and you saw the cold hollowness in his sharp blue eyes. You knew you couldn't win against him.

"I'll give you an opportunity to convince me why I shouldn't kill you right here, right now." He smiled in his cruel, sinister way, crouching down to your level as you tried to sit up.

You knew he was toying with you and you hated it, even as a supernatural, you still had your feelings and dignity but you didn't wish to be exorcised just yet.

"I have never harmed any of the students or any human being. I am weak I will never harm anybody. If you just let me be, I will never cross paths with you or any of the humans ever again." You bargained.

His smile grew. "Ah, but you see, that is a problem now." He raised his hand to tuck a strand of your hair behind your ear, almost lovingly, ignoring the flinch that earned from you. "I have...become quite fond of you, hence, I cannot have you escaping me, my sweet little ghost."

You were taken aback by his words. "What do you mean?"

He gave a sharp tuck of the chain causing you to get yanked forward painfully as he captured your chin in his fingers. You looked at him in terror, puzzled by his actions.

"Such a pretty little thing you are. So easily destroyed, so fragile. Makes me wanna break you so badly." He whispered softly, enunciating each word with care, causing shivers to run down your back. "What I meant is that, I want to claim you, keep you as my little pet." He uttered the last word with tender emphasis.

"You have to be out of your mind if you think I will just agree to that." Your retort came almost naturally, as you looked at him like he lost his mind.

In response, he dug his blade into your feet, causing a sharp ripple of electricity to course through you, as you felt the weapon burn your body in excruciating pain. Your screams of pain echoed through the empty halls of the old school and you knew nobody, supernatural or human could come to your rescue. You were trapped and helpless, at his mercy.

"I don't think you're at a position to decline or accept my offer at the moment, no? Let's try this again, shall we? You're going to be my little pet. I'm going to look after you and keep you for as long as I want. And we will start by teaching you basic obedience, okay? I will take my time breaking you and making you mine."

He smiled chillingly and as you looked at his cold eyes, you were able to see the darkness lurking beneath his pristine exterior. Your fate was sealed and as you hung your head in defeat, you knew there was little to none escape from him, the human who tamed you.

I think i will start posting about these a bit....its a Faith AU. Teru(green girl) is a werewolf and i figured she and Thomas(blue) meet randomly at a church. AU just floats around the idea that she was captured by the cultists and she had an unsuccessful Second death ritual on her, hence the scar. Thats it for now...!

Cooking/Food headcannon- Reigen really loves cooking a lot but he doesn’t take the time to cook because he doesn’t see much point if it’s just for himself (hence why he doesn’t own a rice cooker). It’s just faster to order takeout after a long day. When he starts being more involved in Teru’s life, he picks up cooking again and the two bond over it

Family Headcannon- His sister gets along really really well with Serizawa. When she met him, she took him to a gundam cafe to scoop out details about her brother’s boyfriend (he passed the vibe check with flying colors). Honestly she and Reigen don’t actually hate each other, they just both have strong personalities that clash especially when they believe they are right. This stresses Serizawa out because he isn’t used to sibling dynamics, much less vitriolic ones and he likes both of them a lot

Anyway, I really enjoy Juvia's appearance in Canon, I love the fur accents and her hair is wavy like water which I enjoy, honestly I mostly have a problem with her outfit. Now as a lesbian, of course I enjoy her thighs. Who doesn't love thighs? And the fairytail stamp being there is very nice Mashima, but I personally enjoy a more modest look for her. I think it especially compliments Gray's stripping habit. I feel like Juvia would be more shy with her body, even after she grows more comfortable with the guild, there's more way to show character development and confidence then stripping off clothing.

And it just suits her more, she's a very polite person, and has a sort of formality to her, not in a cold sense, but as a show of respect.

This is just a headcanon of mine, but I feel like she would get cold often, hence the kinda winter-ish outfit (again, a nice parallel with Gray who never gets cold duh)

Also, the scene of her crying and making many of the teru teru bōzu dolls is ingrained in my brain and makes me sad, but please, please give her some kind of sewing hobby! Maybe she makes her own clothes, she could have trouble finding some that are as long or as fuzzy as she'd like, so she started making her own!

Give her something outside of Gray. She's a water mage, maybe when she's stressed or upset, she goes swimming and just sinks into the water. For awhile, she resented the rain and the way it drowned her. Show her hesitate when it comes to the beach, a pool, anything, hesitate to sink into it because she feels guilty for all the years she wished for a drought. It sounds dumb because shes a water mage but thats just it! Shes a water mage! Make her hate her magic and then lesrn to love it again.

Make her interact with sea creatures. Tell me Erza doesn't scold her for bringing home random sea creatures. PLEASE JUST MAKE HER A CHARACTER OUTSIDE GRAY.

Her relationship with Gajeel! Expand on that! Her relationship with Cana (and maybe she finally drifts away from Gray and begins experimenting with new things because she's always been pretty sheltered, forced away from people by the rain so maybe she wants to try something new...and let's be real Cana's down with whatever and whoever).

There's so many things to do with Juvia, and I love her.

Despite all i post about being terukane, i actually fucking love nene.

hence, 4 reasons why you should love nene too (+mini analysis at the end?)

Reason 1: shes cares so much

For one, when aoi was trapped in the far shore, not only did she cry, but so much so that even mentioning her name made her cry, like full on cry not even tear up. She let herself cry in a public infront of someone she deems ‘hottest guy in the school’ not really gaf cus she misses her bsf

And when she got aoi back, she didnt need aoi’s apology she just missed her, going in for an immediate hug, letting aoi tear up in her arms

At the end of the ‘picture perfect’ arc she thanked shijima mei for the painting, something no one else did

She asked what sumire saw in No. 6 to make her like him sm, again something only she did which caught hanako and sumire off guard

Reason 2: shes adorable.

AidaIro have publicly stated they both dislike/hate happy endings. And this i feel, is a perfect way to end it horribly. Aoi really read Teru going "Nene and Akane skippet school to have dinner together" where he very very likely phrased it as an akanene date instead of a trio hangs out.

And her decision was to ditch school, change clothes asap (hence the uniform instead of a casual change), and rush to crash their supposed date.

Being Teru's childhood friend/fiance really influenced her cause she got her usual aoi-ness but this "i don't like this, I shall ruin their fun" attitude is such a Teru behavior.

Old Tineline Aoi would have gotten tremendously bothered as well, to the point of skipping school, but instead of crashing the date, she would stay hidden, try not to bother anyone.

Unmmm first I think Hanako and Nene confessed firsttt and then Kou just pined for them for like ever until they both noticed something was wrong and wouldn’t leave him alone til he told them

Kou was straight before he met them they were his bisexual awakening

They’d take turns making snacks for each other every Friday. Hanako usually gets thre mokke to help him tho. Yashiro makes donuts everytime while Kou rlly likes to spice it up. Hanakos stuck at the school so yashiro and kou will bring him cookbooks so he can pick something to make.

Hanakos love language is physical touch, Kous is gift giving, and Yashiros is quality time. Hence why she doesn’t DESPISE cleaning the bathroom even if it’s annoying sometimes

Hanako probably kisses the most. He likes giving little kisses. Yashiro gets all worked up about it she’s flustered easily

All of them are at least a little prone to jealousy (not of each other, of other people) but Hanako is the most jealous and kou is the least.

Yashiro likes to stay the night at thhe school sometimes to stay with Hanako and eventually kou does too. Teru doesn’t like that but I don’t like teru so whatever!

Thhe mokke are Like their weird kids. They teach them things

Hanako likes bothering yashiro in class more than kou (he thinks her reactions are funnier) but he does sometimes go to see kou as well. He likes swiping Kous things and hiding them because he thinks it’s funny

Kou gets yashiro and Hanako tons of gifts he loves it more than anything. You tell him you like something and boom you have it. He probably also has a spending problem so he tries to go for gifts he can make (esp food)

Yashiro will do anything in her power to drag kou or Hanako along with her to go places. It’s hard with Hanako since he can’t leave the school, but he tends to find things they can do together. Kou is down for anything but when it comes to asking yashiro to go somewhere with him he gets nervous. Idk he seems like he’s also a brushy loser

Hanako is chill af until someone reciprocates his feelings. Like sure he’s sooo cool and he gave yashiro that little kiss and he grins and thinks he’s the shit but god forbid one of them kiss HIM then he’s losing his mind

Kou and Yashiro love prying into his likes and dislikes also.

Yashiro likes compatibility tests. Even if they say they’re not compatible she won’t care but she thinks they’re fun anyways. And it just adds onto the running joke of Hanako and kou not being “her type”

That's fair! Happy to talk about my interpretation of anything. Be aware anyone you ask a question to has their own bias-- it might be helpful to reread the manga from start to finish, to better understand an arc, or look for things that foreshadowed it. I think Iro-sensei is actually remarkably good at regularly summarizing & connecting events!!!!

To start though, I'll try to go pretty chronologically in 'things we know'....

we already know the timeline we've been in isn't 'right'. It does not match up with Tsuchigomori's bookstacks, meaning, events have been tampered with in a way that betrays fate. The Clockkeepers are likely aware of this, too, given their power also deals with chronology.

The Clockkeepers have been-- likely this whole time-- waiting for the inevitable opportunity to understand what is going on. By their nature, they are patient.

Since the Broadcast Club is procedurally going through every Mystery & their Yorishiro, eventually the conflict would come to their door. All they needed to do was wait.

As Kako says, "I am never late". For all of the chaos caused in the school, he's rarely in a rush to fix it, and seems to often allow unpleasant things to commence, without concern for the impact on individuals in that little timeline.

(aside, I wonder what he was thinking when Amane said this, in a previous Trial to concern the chaos before the Severance? Another situation wherein Kako was patient, biding his time, & disinterested in rushing to fix the chaos. This is typical for Kako, it would seem. Akane calls him twisted for a reason...)

So, the time finally comes for the Broadcast Club to target the Clockkeepers. Kako holds a trial in order to study the likely culprits, & narrow it down to a sensible explanation. Between Mystery no. 7, his kannagi, and his yorishiro, and I guess Minamoto Teru, whose family legacy is tied to the God, something is 'amiss', and can explain all of this disarray.

Kako has a pragmatic mind. He is indifferent to how many people suffer, apparently including his own body! He is not angry, he does not lash out at Tsukasa for ripping him or Mirai apart. He's waiting patiently to understand.

In a way, this 'trial' is only a staged event, for Kako to wait for a meaningful piece of information to 'click' everything into place. As Amane and Tsukasa quarrel, he finally has the reasonable explanation for EVERYTHING in this timeline going off the rails...

What is that reasonable explanation?

The timeline has been tampered with by a God-- someone who can apparently act outside of the typical boundaries of human & kaii.

The God appears to be .... a body of water, perhaps? Whatever the case, it is connected to a body of water at the pit of a cavern. Sacrifices were thrown down a pit to this God in Sumire & Hakubo's time.

The Minamoto clan personally governed the raising & managing of these sacrifices in ancient times, so it makes sense Kako had suspected Teru of involvement, hence his inclusion in the trial.

Nene-chan met the withered souls of the past Kannagi beneath the Red House, the Yugi twin's family home.

The Well God beneath the Yugi family home is the same God Sumire & Hakubo's village relied on for safety & protection. If you tuned out of Sumire & Hakubo's story (many did, finding it irrelevant...), go back & reread it all!!!!

which Tsukasa had bonded with & given voice to,

and became merged with Tsukasa, somehow, during his stay in the Red House-- a space outside of time. Something about Tsukasa is different, from all of the other kannagi thrown to the cavernous pit... despite that he intended to sacrifice himself for Amane.

Tsukasa became entangled with it...

Humans historically prayed to this God & made offerings to it. This God granted wishes for a price, just like Amane & Tsukasa do. Aida-sensei recently depicted people praying to Tsukasa in the house, mirroring how people prayed to the God.

Sumire explains the Well God thoroughly in her arc:

Nene-chan also outlines how the Mysteries are some sort of new, alternate solution to relying upon sending sacrifices to the Well God in the Severance:

(the Mysteries themselves meanwhile, are described as being Pillars of God,

and seem to channel their powers from a central God... destruction of the Yorishiro is described by Sakura as "returning the power (to their) original form".

It's possible the Mysteries borrow THE Well God's power using the Yorishiro system, so as the Mysteries are peeled, Tsukasa's God-self sucks it in. This means destroying EVERY Yorishiro, returns 100% of the power to the God-- eventually even unspooling Tsukasa [for some reason, it will also kill Nene-chan, which might mean she also contains a portion of the God, keeping her alive?]. But that's getting into theorizing... so I won't dwell But I kinda say this so you are less confused later?).

Kako, having identified the God's presence within Tsukasa, is now going to go back in time to 'correct' the irregularities.

We see Kako go back in time to the year before the Yugi twin's murder-suicide or as it's often referred to as, shinjuu (lover's suicide). He goes to 1968-- the Yugi died together in 1969.

The Clockkeepers are going to create a new, 'fixed' timeline. They know Tsukasa is housing a God in his body, & has since he was young. They will stop Tsukasa, somehow, from being able to skew events.

We don't know what the new world will be like, and neither does Akane.

Meanwhile... Akane does not actually trust the Clockkeepers:

It would appear as if Akane has instructed Teru to perform some kind of ritual on Nene-chan, perhaps as a failsafe?

Akane has placed his trust in Nene-chan in the past, so maybe he wants to have assets to pull on, in the event the new timeline is in some way, bad for himself or Aoi.

Akane hopes the 'new present' is a good one. He is waiting to see for himself what the Clockkeepers are doing, and if it is actually good for any of them, or only good for themselves.

We know that, typically, when the Clockkeepers tamper with time, they take the memories of those involved in the affairs:

However, at the end of this recent chapter, we see Nene-chan register time has changed, confused & startled by the sudden reset.

which likely means that someone has ENSURED she will retain her memories of the previous timeline. Probably Akane & Teru! Aoi meanwhile, is likely ignorant.

(HOWEVER, it's also possible Nene-chan's high spiritual power alone could enable her memory retention...? Kako mentions high spiritual power could effect such a thing in the first Clockkeeper's arc. Kou's spiritual power is weak, so he's likely to lose his memories, but we don't really have a grasp of Nene-chan's... other than, Teru himself is quite surprised by her ability to bless away the mass cursing in the 'Kegare' chapter)

So in summation:

Tsukasa is confirmed to contain the Well God. The Well God is confirmed to be the ancient God from Sumire & Hakubo's time. Tsukasa is seen by the Clockkeepers as responsible for the timeline we have spent this entire manga in. The entire circumstances of the timeline have NOW been altered by doing something to Tsukasa or Amane in 1968. We are possibly now inside the 'corrected' timeline. Akane is observing this new timeline for irregularities. Nene-chan is also now observing it.

Everything that just happened with the Big Clock, Mitsuba, the chaos in the school, has been undone.

What does that entail? It's my blog so now I can extrapolate for fun-- for FUN!!--

Tsukasa is the reason Mitsuba could even be a simple ghost, and meet Kou as one at all. Does he even exist in this timeline? Will Kou have his old memories? Or would Teru prefer him mindwiped? (Kou was more agreeable & loyal to him before meeting Hanako & Mitsuba, after all)...

If the shinjuu was stopped & Tsukasa alone was plucked somehow, is Amane even no. 7? Is he even dead?

Are we in the bookstacks-recorded timeline? Or is this another timeline? Will we see multiple different timelines as the Clockkeepers try different solutions, or just the one?

is it a good thing, to make it so the shinjuu never happened?

will we, the readers, LIKE IT? or will we be scared & upset, as everything we had observed up until this point is utterly erased?

will Nene-chan recognize this as BETTER? is it what she WANTS?

will we want our original timeline BACK?

Nene-chan once wanted this...

.... but can she confess to 'Hanako', or be with him at all, in this world? Hanako-kun was a mononoke from the 1960s. We don't even know what bizarre events transpired to turn a normal tragic boy into a mononoke, and a School Mystery at that. It's likely never been 'correct' that he be with Nene-chan. That they know each other as teens at all feels like not only a huge fluke, but perhaps an elaborate orchestration (perhaps by someone who wants them to be together, perhaps by someone who can see many timelines and wants Amane's happiness, yet doesn't believe they can personally be loved by Amane directly... perhaps someone who met Nene-chan long ago, 'before' all of this, & knew she could love him, in some sort of space outside of time... hmm... ).

Nene-chan and Hanako-kun bonded as Mystery & his Kannagi, tasked with correcting the rumors flung into chaos by the Broadcast Club. Those are the circumstances they fell in love under.

Isn't it so exciting? We're going to learn so many lessons!!!!!! It's time to be grateful for what we had, MAYBE!!!!
