I find it hilarious that Yashiro's concept of physical boundaries doesn't exist when it comes to Hanako because she's so used to how physical he is with her. In the beginning of the Picture Perfect arc, and Yashiro's trying to figure out what the quack is going on, she's touching Hanako and stuff to see if he's still a ghost and what not---rightfully distrusting of him and all of this. But here's something I noticed in this panel.

Notice, he didn't say "stop touching me." All he said was "the class is staring." BRUH--

Hanako cannot even feel the cold because he is a ghost, but Yashiro, the caring, selfless cutie she is, nevertheless shares her scarf with him without a second thought, causing Hanako to be flustered and twiddle his thumbs, averting his eyes from her. I love them so much. 🥹💕

Aww… she stutters when she says "girlfriend".

And yet… at that moment, even though she wanted him to be happy with all her heart… Her suffering was overflowing.

The suffering she would accept to deal with if he were happy in this reality…

But seeing him like this… uhhh… that look so welcoming, so comforting… How he didn't mind answering her question because he wanted to know if she was okay, because she was about to cry.

His delicate touch to dry her tears, it's so sweet...

The two are similar here… how they just care for each other in different ways.

While Hanako did many wrong things to ensure her happiness, Nene was ensuring that happiness for him just by letting him go, letting him live the life he should have lived.

She is learning now that sometimes love hurts, and that she has to endure a scar or two to see the one she loves happy. She has learned now that love should not be selfish, and even if she sheds all the tears, she has already accepted to endure the pain to see him be happy.

We know that at the end of this arc, everything will go back to normal, but seeing that Nene is having this progress, this empathy and this feeling of "giving up" someone for that person's happiness, is spectacular.

She suffers with the possibility of separating from him, but still she was brave enough to ask directly and accept his answer. I wouldn't blame her if she felt relieved to discover that this wasn't the ideal future, she loves him and wants to have him around, but seeing that she would suffer in silence for his happiness… is poetic to say the least.

I love Hanako’s reaction to young Nene. Him being directly told I love you makes him emotional as he’s not really been told that in his life, besides from Tsukasa.

Hanako's feelings for Yashiro, while cute at times, are very terrifying when you think about it because of the stuff he was doing and *willing* to do. At this point, I am just convinced he's one of the best possible iterations of a yandere we could have without it being overly crummy. As much as I ship them, oh boy is it messy.

This dude KNEW this girl was gonna die, so he makes an alternate reality for her to live in and tries to gaslight her into not questioning it so she does. Then imprisons her in a cell until the rest of the said reality is done being made.

And THEN when Yashiro (rightfully) calls him out for this, he immediately switches up and plots to kill her best friend and HIMSELF by having Aoi's lifespan swapped with her's. This guy was willing to commit murder and die as a GHOST. He was willing to die a SECOND time.

And on top of that, when Yashiro calls him out AGAIN for planning to kill Aoi as well, all he had to say was this:
