no. when it was at its peak popularity my online friends were all into it but i never find it interesting especially since the main casts were mostly european countries with histories that 12yo me doesn't know well or care about (context: im southeast asian and my country was only 'liberated' AFTER ww2) . since i like being annoying, at one point i try getting into the inside joke by yelling pasta or saying aru at the end of every sentence but i only do that for a couple of weeks until i realize joining a fandom you dont even like the source material of is a useless endeavor thats not bringing me joy. a valuable lesson for my preteen self tbh.

now that im older and actually studied history, the concept of the show actually repulses me a little. sure, its man's nature to make gijinkas of everything but to reduce the atrocities of imperial core countries to a set of yaoi jokes is kind of bad innit? i wouldn't burn someone at the stake of liking hetalia though. there are important things to worry about.

anyway, if you really want an embarrassing, geopolitical-related tidbits about my online life: i used to be really into one of those countryball comics and political spectrum axis memes when i was 15 years old.
