#help i love cook barty so much

barty is a great cook.

like, not only because his mum taught him how to cook (gets even better if you hc him as italian or spanish [or latino, too]), but also because his friends can't cook even if their lives depended on it

regulus is a menace in the kitchen, he once burned a kettle trying to make tea, evan is too lazy to try to learn, pandora was banned from the kitchen after making something (no one really knows what it was) that got them all sick, and dorcas can do the basic, but she likes having barty cook for her

it surprises a lot of people when they learn it that that goth, punk, edgy, slightly off guy with too many piercings and tattoos to count could be the chef of his own restaurant if he wanted to. his specialty is main dishes, he's superb with pasta and meat, but also rocks the desserts

he bonded with james over food, because james is also the cook of his group of friends (he makes the most amazing desi dishes [which i won't go into much detail because honestly it's 3 am and i can't research properly right now])

opposite to what many people think, the skittles rarely order food when they're hanging out together. barty almost always cooks. more than knowing how to, he likes to cook. it's something he shares with his mum, something his father never had any influence over (after all, he was never home during supper)

most of all, barty loves to cook for evan. evan is the type of person who tends to either get into hyperfocus and forgets to eat or has a very bad week and forgets to eat. either way, he doesn't take good care of himself. barty helps by popping up in his house, making him get up from the couch and help him in the kitchen. evan doesn't cook, but he sorts the ingredients out and occasionally chops a tomato (not onions though, he hates how they make him cry). he makes barty company, and they both have slightly better weeks just because of that

so, in the end, barty loves to cook.

Remus was pretty happy with his life at this point. 

He had great friends, a promising career and the most perfect and loving partners he could ask for.

But that didn't change the fact that for one night a month he absolutely loathed his life. 

He hated the moon almost as much as he hated himself during the moon.

Though over the years he had learned to accept what he was significantly more than he used to. 

He had learned to tolerate it. To live with it.

But that didn’t mean it didn't scare the absolute hell out of him most of the time. 

Especially when the conversation of moving in with his partners came into the loop. 

He was feeling beyond apprehensive about the idea of it all. 

It wasn't because he didn't love his partners, quite the opposite actually. It was because he loved them so much that the thought of accidentally hurting them or cursing them with the same fate as himself or… worse…  would often send him into a spiral of anxiety, overthinking and self loathing.

But eventually after months of reassurance -and Barty pouting- Remus caved and agreed that the four of you should finally move in together.

So after weeks of searching for a home -which according to you and Barty felt like it was taking ‘fucking forever’- you finally found your perfect home and moved in as soon as possible. 

That was a few weeks ago now and last night was the first full moon in the new house. 

Yesterday before nightfall Remus was beyond terrified. 

His mind had been clouded with overthinking and the absolute worst scenarios his brain could manage all day.

So when he woke up still in the basement that he and your entire friend group had spent countless hours reinforcing and charming -to Remus’s standards and preferences of course- he was so grateful. 

So grateful in fact that he was able to be distracted by the pain in his body a few moments longer than normal.

But eventually the pain consumed his body like it normally did.

For what could have been a few minutes or a few hours -Remus wasn't really sure- he just laid there looking up at the ceiling of the basement basking in the pain that ran through his body and his normal post full moon self loathing. Just completely lost in his own mind that was until he was pulled out by the sound of your voice.

“Moons? Are you awake?”

The sound of your voice had involuntarily brought a smile to Remus’s face and sent a wave of calm and comfort over him.

“Yea I’m awake love.” Remus groaned while sitting up feeling a few of his joints popping and his muscles tensing up.

It didn't take long for him to hear the sound of your footsteps coming down the stairs with a hot cup of coffee -that you meticulously made sure was exactly to his liking- and his favorite blanket in hand. 

Both things Remus had gladly and gratefully accepted.

“We made breakfast, if you're up for it.”

The sweet softens off your voice was slightly interrupted by Regulus chuckling.

“And of course by ‘we’ Y/N means they did the majority of the cooking since we all know I can't cook to save my life and we value our health enough to not want a repeat of when Barty tried to cook dinner for us the other week.”

Remus couldn't help but laugh a little, no matter how much it hurt, when he heard a very dramatic gasp from Barty.

“I'll have you know Black that I'm an excellent cook, you're just too much of a prick to appreciate such perfection.”

Remus continued to chuckle at the very familiar childish bickering happening between two of his lovers. 

He was actually enjoying the small distraction so much that he didn't notice when you sat next to him until he felt your shoulder brush against him.

“How are you feeling really, Remus?”

Remus couldn't help the small sigh that escaped his lips when he heard your words. “As good as to be expected love… I'm just grateful I didn’t get out and hurt one of you or worse...” 

You sighed softly and looked at Remus with a soft and loving look in your eyes. “Remus, I know you're worried but this bassment is a fortress. We'll be fine.”

Though you sounded so sure in your words Remus still wasn't fully convinced. 

His mind was already starting to spiral at this point with the possibilities and of the dangers that he imposed on the three most important people in his life.

Remus hadn't even realized he was now staring off into the black abyss of his coffee cup that was currently warming his hands till you placed your hand on top of his gaining his full attention.

When Remus’s eyes met yours he couldn't deny the love and honesty that he saw swimming in them which made your next words comfort him.

“We are fine. We will be fine. I know your anxiety won't go away but you need to remember that you have done everything in your power to ensure our safety and that's all you can do. Plus you know better than anyone that the three of us are very skilled with our magic so we are more than capable of taking care of ourselves. Not everything is on you Remus. We knew what we were signing up for when we asked for the four of us to move in together. We love you and everything will be fine I promise.”

Remus just sighed and nodded. 

A part of him honestly did feel better, he knew that he would never be a hundred percent comfortable for that one day a month but it made him feel better to know that you genuinely believed in your words and in him.

“Okay, I'll try to calm down more… I’m just so scared that I'm going to hurt one of you but I'll do my best to keep my anxiety at bay... Thank you, my love.”

Remus wrapped his arm around you and kissed the top of your head just being happy in the moment.

Once a month he loathed his life.

But everyday before and after the full moon he genuinely loved his life.

Right now he loves his life.

He had one of his lovers in his arms while his other two lovers were ‘fighting’.

This is the life he will forever be truly grateful for.

i actually havent yet which is surprising ive just been putting it off for so long but here you go!

• I have so many ethnic hc’s for him it’s insane but I would say my main ones are Italian, German, or Spanish

• green eyes mf i heavily believe that and like emerald kinda green

• he has so many freckles it’s insane (evan has tried to count them all but stopped once he reached the thousands)

• loves to cook, this man will cook anything and everything for fun but hates when people try to help him. he will constantly yell at people to “get out of his kitchen”

• severe adhd

• the only way he is able to sit still is if he’s physically weighted down of he’s hyper focused on doing something with his hands.

TW: this one kind involves SH but not purposely, more like a habit.

• scratches at his arms when he’s anxious or bites his nails and pulls at his hair when he’s stressed.

• always has painted nails. mostly black but sometimes he’ll switch it up

• he’s left handed but his father tried to force teach him into using his right hand.

• has shit handwriting out of pure spite, it can be really neat and pretty if he tries.

• literally the smartest person you’ll ever meet, but he has no common sense whatsoever.

• he always freaked people out with any knowledge he knew. like someone could ask him what would classify as murder and he would go into like an hour long debrief about it like he purposely studied it to never get caught.

My family’s overstimulated me so I’m trying to focus on headcanons to calm down 😂

Bear/bare (English is hard) with me

1. The Weasley’s (who like Christmas; spending time with family and whatnot) with someone who’s always felt like Christmas was too much. Like maybe Fred (cause he’s on my mind rn) has a partner who’s always seen Christmas time as an exhausting holiday.

2. Remus dating someone very Luna or Neville coded. Just someone who loves him unconditionally especially during full moon days.

3. When Sirius had his first Christmas after running away, he half expected it to all be a dream. That he’d wake up back at Grimmauld place.

4. Some would think Christmas was Draco’s favorite holiday; gifts and fancy food. But the Malfoy’s like the other scared twenty eight families treated Christmas like an excuse to gossip and brag.

5. Surprisingly Fred and George are pretty good in the kitchen. Messy but good

6. The twins definitely attempted to turn the black lake into ice to skate on it

7. The universe is quite literally a big joke in the wizarding world. Consistently making parallels with people. Like how people say Draco is a parallel to Regulus. The wizarding world universe has been doing things like that for centuries but no one in the wizarding world seems to notice.

8. Barty was a Ravenclaw but he spent so much time with Evan and Regulus, history has forgotten and remembered him as a Slytherin

I think that the Weasley’s have one of the most laid back Christmas’s. Like it’s a lot of people but it’s so low stakes. Gift are flying in the air and you don’t really have to care about masking too hard. It’s chaotic yet so much easier than other family’s. Honestly I think Fred and George are the most chaotic people there, lots of fireworks and loudness over all.

Honestly, this is canon to me. I can’t imagine Remus dating anyone insensitive about his condition, but the idea of some really whimsical like Luna with him is so cute.

I think Christmas with the Malfoy’s is one of the least enjoyable places to be. It’s about keeping up appearances, it’s probably very tiring to be at. It’s less about being with loved ones and enjoying each other, but acting in a certain way to be perceived a certain way. And LOTS of gossip.

Fred being good at baking while George being good at cooking. Fred can’t make a meal to save his life, but any time he makes cookies it’s amazing (not that he’d let you know). While George burns all his cakes, but can make a roast almost as good as his mom’s.

Yes. I think Dumbledore probably saw the attempt and the next day they found it frozen over perfectly, they never figured out who it was.

I think this is true for the real world as well, but since the wizarding world is so much smaller it’s more evident to us.

Barty - I think Barty has the least healthy eating habits and frowns at things that are green or are the basic form/an ingredient. He'll eat spinach in other food but he's not happy about it.

Evan - I love health-freak gym rat Evan so I think he's all about spinach and is telling Barty about the iron content and vitamins, he's putting it in his cooking and lies to Barty about it.

Pandora - I think she's neutral, she'll eat it without being convinced to but isn't like "yuuummm spinach". I think she'd have a vegetable garden at the Rook (Lovegood family home) and grew spinach because its quick so she has a good supply. She takes a leaf out of Evan’s book and hides spinach in Luna's food.

Regulus - He'll eat anything he's given, very indifferent, but he overhears Evan’s yapping when he's lecturing Barty and starts paying more attention. He also told James to eat more spinach but refused to tell him why and just walked off.

Dorcas - I love sporty Dorcas so I think like Evan she cares about the health benefits but doesn't bother trying to tell other people to eat it more, she keeps that information to herself and piles loads of it into her dishes so it wilts and isn't noticable.

Xenophilius (aka Phil) - I think he didn't think much about health but he's definitely an ingredients guy so has spinach in the house, Pandora encourages him to be healthier for Luna's sake and he researches nutrition for kids when Pandora dies and he has to raise Luna. He tells Luna that spinach and other healthy greens help to ward off Nargles.

Spinach is no longer a word 😂

there’s already another b-side planned but i haven’t gotten around to writing it but basically it’s inspired by dom’s song Bodies (so basically about barty’s slut behavior and evan being a jealous capricorn) so one time when they’re having sex they kind of get on the topic for some reason and at some point barty randomly blurts that a few months/year back (previous to them figuring their shit out) he had the thought of just getting evan pregnant so that they could maybe try themselves at a relationship. like a twisted way of barty locking evan down to him with the measure of being his baby daddy…… which is. just so deranged T-T. evan sputters immediately and hits b real hard on the shoulder but also Blushes profusely so that’s how they figure out barty’s breeding kink and evan’s daddy kink but only in the way of barty being his baby daddy. (they’re so stupid)

and for general hcs (and something i plan on incorporating in another b-side possibly) is that at some age probably around the time rose started talking to evan about finding a summer job at 13/14 barty realizes that he’s in fact from a much wealthier upbringing (they’re not exactly Rich people but his dad is a fancy judge and all) and that he’s basically costing the rosiers a lot of money by having meals with them and living there half the time. he’s very sneaky about his plan to pay them back. at first it’s leaving change around all the time, coins and crumpled bills that rose just assumes must be evan’s so she puts them in his money jar in the kitchen. at like 15/16 the washing machine breaks and barty pays the guy bringing and installing it. rose thinks she flirted her way out of paying and has an incredible self confident boost from it too, acting all silly and haughty about how gorgeous must be to evade such a high bill with pretty privilege lmao. barty starts filling up evan’s gas tank randomly, always finding an excuse to be the one to by snacks. he goes grocery shopping with evan’s mom and insists on paying because she’s already doing the work of cooking and all (he can’t overdo that one tho or she will get suspicious). ofc evan figured it out at some point (timeline wise it’s after the first kiss in Ant Pile (from the second chapter) and after the b-side but before they get together) and he pins barty to the door of his room. demanding an explanation and that he stops because they don’t need pity money. barty simply replies that they’re his Family and that’s what they do, they take care of each other. it makes evan so warm and dizzy he actually kisses barty for it

some time early high school they both bleach each other’s hair and they totally ruin evan’s curl pattern with it completely frying his hair and also they both just look Yellow and then rose comes home takes one look and tells them to not move a single finger and turns back around to buy toner. when she comes back she helps them fix it and it actually does look pretty badass. once it’s past half grown out rose cuts evan’s hair all short again. he lets it grow from then on and it gets all big and curly again and barty is violently obsessed with it

Below the cut is the context of the spoilers that were posted!

1. Happy Family Holiday. I don't share any of the other characters on holiday, and that was on purpose as it did not add to their stories. James and Sirius absolutely went on Holidays with their family. Remus, on the other hand, had enough excitement at home that the family did not have the money or the time to go to other places.

For Peter, I wanted to show that he was in a happy healthy family, that had quality time. Peter was not born evil and he had a very boring net-happy childhood.

The holiday also furthers the subplot of Peter's mum not liking Muggles - she is nowhere close to that of Sirius' family. She fears what she does not know - as she has not interacted (and refuses to) interact with Muggles. However, there is also her duplicity in liking Muggle things like cooking by hand and kitting without magic. She will take Peter to a Muggle restaurant with her husband but is weary about it the whole time. She is an ignorant woman - and this will impact the story.

It was also important to me that Peter have his father in his life. Yes, his dad travels (like Sirius and Barty's), but his dad is there when he is home. I did this as I don't think Peter should get any sympathy for his life - he grew up in a stable and loved home. He was not making the wrong choices because he was mistreated at home, or from a broken family, or grieving the loss of his dad. No, Peter had it all.

2. Dyslexia. Why give Peter a disability? Well, Peter is written in the books very interestingly - he was an Anamagus, but not thought to be bright by his professors - he brewed a potion for Voldemort, but was not looked at highly by the death eaters as skilled - he did not note a fighter in the order, but still played an important role.

To me this screams that someone has potential, but something is holding them back - could it be his nerves? Sure, absolute, but I think it was more than that - I also think that if it was nerves James and the rest of the boys wouldn't been as chummy - Peter had something to give to the group, but struggled. And I think it made science for it to be Dyslexia as he would be able to learn and do things - but struggle with writing, reading, and remembering what he read. If it was covered in class he would be fine (as long as he was paying attention). This is the side of him the boys knew, and not many others - it's why they knew Peter could do the Fidelis charm magic, why he became an animagus, and why he was able to brew that potion - Peter is smart - he just struggles with showing it.

Yes James gets frustrated with Peter at OWLS with

3. Dinner. I think those that are good a potions are good at cooking. Idk it's just something you will see - but I think it does make some sense. I knew Peter would be good at potions, so then he was good at cooking. It's also helped with how his mother would homeschool him as he would not have gotten schooling the same way the others did. I picture Peter having a much more lax homeschooling time than Remus.

4. Peter's Mother + Cooking. Peter is a mama's boy. He loves her and she is very important to him.

I should have put a picture of the toad - however - Peter's allergy and his toad were a last-minute addition - but have created a nice subplot I hope you all will like.

“Bartemius Crouch junior! I swear to all that is holy in this world! If you stick your grubby hands in the frosting one more bloody time!”

“Oh come on Lupin! You can’t blame me, it's just so fucking good!"

Barty yelled, waving his hands around trying to defend himself.

You couldn't help but laugh at hearing two of your boyfriends’ bicker while you put the chicken you just got done seasoning into the oven to cook. 

Admittedly it was quite entertaining and it helped distract you a bit from stressing over the cooking that still needed to be done and the small decorations that needed to be put up for today.

It was Regulus's birthday, so you and Remus had gotten Sirius to take Regulus out for the day so you and your partners could try and surprise him with a birthday dinner for just the four of you. 

You couldn't help but stress seeing as he should be home sooner than later at this point, and you wanted everything to be as perfect as possible since Regulus wasn't completely comfortable with celebrating his birthday still. 

He didn't find the idea of a party and things of that nature to be fun, he found it more stressful and anxiety inducing than anything. (due to his childhood)

So the three of you have always tried to do a little something to make it special for him and to show Regulus that you all love him but never anything too much as to avoid overwhelming or making him uncomfortable. 

“Barty, my love, how about you go and set up the ‘Happy Birthday’ banner?”

“Anything for you angel.”

Barty says with a look that he reserved for only you. 

It was love sick looks. The kind of look that could show the receiver every emotion the other person was feeling. It showed that you were loved by that person with their whole heart. The type of look that had both parties feeling vulnerable in the best way possible.

Even before you all had started dating, when you all were just friends in your earlier years at Hogwarts, he had always looked at you as if you hung the moon and all the stars in the sky. 

He'd look at you as if you were the only good thing left in this world, and to him you were one of the only good things left in this world.

You and two other people that he held closer to his heart than he'd probably be willing to admit most days. 

Though that didn’t mean Barty didn't love Remus and Regulus.

It also didn't mean it was a secret of how much Barty loved Remus and Regulus. In fact he loved them with all his heart. He expressed how much he loved them somewhat often in his own ways.

Especially since he could be known for his flair of the dramatics at times, he had expressed many times that he loved the three of you more than anything. 

Not that anyone could deny, or question it. More like no one would dare to deny or question it. 

Barty has expressed many times how he'd burn down cities, commit unspeakable acts and take on any unforgivable in a heartbeat for Regulus and Remus.

The love Barty held for them two was the kind of love that was teasing and could be chaotic in the best way. 

The type of love that could only be described as a ‘I can pick on them but you can't pick on them because they're mine’ in the most loving way Barty could possibly manage. And may the gods help any poor soul that ever tried to mess with someone who he deemed as his. 

But the love he had for you was a softer kind of love, it was sweet. The kind of love full of things like love sick looks, soft touches, sweet kisses and even sweeter words.

Along with the promises of burning down cities, committing unspeakable acts and taking on unforgivables’, who would expect anything less from Barty?  But I digress.

“Yes please, piss off for fucks sake.”

Remus says in an exasperated tone waving Barty away. Barty then gasps dramatically and clenches his shirt as if he was clutching his ‘pearls’. 

“You don't mean that, Remmy.” Barty all but whined. 

“Plus you couldnt get rid of me even if you wanted to.”

Barty states sending a smirk and wink at Remus, which Remus just responds with by rolling his eyes and hitting Barty with a dish towel playfully to distract Barty from the light blush that's undoubtedly spread across Remus’s face, as to avoid being teased further by him.

“Barty’s right Rem. Even if we wanted to, we're stuck with him, unfortunately.”

You say with a sarcastic little sigh while trying to suppress a smile that threatened to form due to the two men playful arguing. 

Barty then gasps dramatically once more and puts his hand over his heart as if you just stabbed him in the heart as Remus snicker at Bartys reaction and to your comment. 

“Not you as well, angel. You should know that words hurt. You've wounded me, you've basically killed me.”

Barty then pretends to sob as you and Remus shake your heads with smiles on your faces due to his behavior.

“Gods you’ve been spending way too much damn time around Sirius.”

Remus says while rubbing his hands over his face trying to hide his smile. You chuckle and walk up to Barty and give him a hug giving him your best ‘I'm sorry’ look. 

“I’m sorry Barty, I just couldn't help it. Remus has influenced me far too much.. Blame him.”

You say in fake sincerity with a small nod as you hear Remus huff at your comment.

Barty lets out a chuckle and hugs you back with a smile on his face looking down at you as he holds you. 

“It's okay angel, I could never stay upset at you. Lupin on the other hand..”

Barty drags out the end of his sentence with a small smirk on his face as Remus scoffs dramatically at his lovers’ statements.

“Really love? It's my fault is it?”

Remus says with his head tilted to the side and eyebrow raised, as if daring you to continue saying that he should be the one to blame for your ‘cruel’ comment to Barty. 

“Actually Lupin,  I think it is your fault.” Barty stated apparently agreeing with you.

“And what has brought you to that conclusion Junior?” 

Remus says as he walks toward the both of you with a small smirk on his face.

“My angel was just that, an angel. That was until you lot got your Gryffindor hands all over her.”

Barty says with a small shrug, feeling as if his point was valid and made sense. You supposed for Barty it did.

“Is that a fact?” Remus asked while getting closer to you and Barty.

“Yeah, Lupin it is actually.”  Barty says, giving Remus a somewhat challenging look.

“You don't seem to complain when I have my Gryffindor hands all over you, Junior.” 

Remus then winks at a now blushing and flustered Barty. You then cover your mouth trying to hide your own blush while also trying to suppress a giggle.

Barty tries to say some kind of come back and it  just results in him stuttering.

“W-well I- Goddamnit! That’s not fair Lupin!”

“All's fair in love and war Junior.”

Remus says sending another wink at Barty and smirking at you while Barty stares at him with wide eyes in complete silence.

He had managed to make Barty Crouch Jr speechless.

That was actually one of the many things that Remus was good at, especially at the beginning when everything was still new and more unexpected. 

When the four of you were in that space where you weren't officially dating but it was clear to you and everyone who'd been around your little group that you four had very strong feelings for each other.

It had taken Remus no time at all to get comfortable with having at least one of you flustered almost all the time, usually to the point of stuttering or speechlessness. 

He loved seeing you three like that.

Especially Barty.

Barty wasn't someone you could easily make blush let alone actually fluster, especially with just words so whenever Remus would manage to make Barty speechless he felt like he won a reward. 

Barty would never admit it but it was clear as day that Remus was good at making him a flustered stuttering mess. 

And Barty hated it.

“Now love. I believe someone owes someone an apology for trying to place blame.”

Remus says, walking up to you now at arms length and giving you a pointed look now waiting for an apology. 

While Barty mutters a ‘fucking hell’ under his breath and runs his hand through his hair as he walks towards the kitchen counter still mumbling quietly to himself.

“I'm sorry moony. Truly. Do you forgive me?” You say somewhat sincerely knowing Remus doesn't really care all that much. 

“I could never stay mad at you, love.”

Remus says with a small smile he then cups your cheek and gives you a kiss on your forehead, you lean into Remus's kiss taking in the moment and enjoying the affection from your boyfriend.

When suddenly you and Remus feel a cold, grainy substance rain down on you, which you both quickly realize is flour once the shock wore off.

You then hear a familiar giggle, and turn to see none other than a proud looking Barty standing now several feet away, covered in white powder himself. He just stands there proud of himself as if he didn't just cover you both in flour.

As you stare at him wide eyed and mouth a gasp, he just gives you a cheeky little smile.

“You did not just do that Junior.”

“Oh but I think I did, Remmy. That's what you get for teasing and being mean to me.”

Barty then sends a little wink to you and a somewhat apologetic smile.

“Sorry angel. Collateral damage, you understand.”

Barty says with a small shrug and a tone that makes it seem like it's the most reasonable thing that he has ever done.

You simply nod with the most convincing smile you could possibly muster in that moment.

“Of course my love. I understand.”

You say walking near Barty and grabbing a bowl that's filled with whipped cream that you had made earlier. You then walk closer to Barty and with a smile on your face.

“And you'll understand when I do this.”

You say while grabbing a handful of whipped cream and throwing it at Barty just for him to duck in time ending with the cream hitting Remus in the face. You gasp and cover your mouth trying not to laugh as Barty busts out laughing.

“Oh shit Rem! I'm so sorry.”

You say trying hard and failing to suppress your laughter, while Remus wipes his eyes off with his hands.

“It's okay love. All’s forgiven. Just come and give me a kiss.”

“Ummm I would love to, honestly I would… After you clean your face, that is…”

You back away from a now smiling remus while he opens his arms for you and starts walking closer to you. 

“No, now would be fine for me.”

Remus proceeds to walk closer to you as you start to back away towards Barty who's starting to calm down from his laughter.

“Why not kiss Barty?! This is all because of him anyway!”

Barty then gasps.

“Angel! I can't believe you'd throw me under the bus like that… Is it bad that I liked it?”

Barty asks the last part more to himself than to anyone else. He was so caught up in his thoughts for a second that he didn't notice you now using him as a human shield, that was until he felt a clump of whipping cream on his head and looked to see a smirking Remus. 

“Oh. This means war.”

All of a sudden it was every person for themselves. The kitchen was now a war zone. Flour, whipped cream, sugar, powdered sugar, fruits and berries were being thrown all over the place. It was pure chaos. 

The Three you were making a mess out of the kitchen and even bigger messes of yourselves.

Next thing you, you’ve been thrown over Remus’s shoulder while Barty is chasing Remus around the kitchen. 

There’s so much going on, so much laughing and screaming that no one heard the door open. Which meant no one heard Regulus make his way to the kitchen, and so no one noticed him standing in the doorway till you heard him speak.

“I leave you alone for a few hours and suddenly the kitchen explodes?”

Regulus in all his stoic glory just stood there not even looking a little surprised.

All three of you stopped running around, suddenly feeling like kids who got caught with their hands in the cookie jar. Then all three of you look at eachother then at Regulus.

“Happy Birthday?” You, Remus and Barty said accidentally making it sound more like a question than in an enthusiastic way.

Regulus just points at the oven says.

“The ovens smoking.”

“Oh shit! The chicken!”

You yell as Remus puts you down and he rushes to the oven to take out the now burnt chicken as smoke fills the kitchen.

“Sooo… Chinese?” Said a very uncertain Barty  

After opening some windows, having the Chinese food delivered, a few showers and quite a few cleaning spells the four of you ended up on the couch with a movie on not many words being exchanged.

After the movie was finished and the food had all been mostly finished Remus had brought out the cake that he managed to finish decorating while waiting for the food to arrive.

The three of you had sung (or in Bartys case basically screamed) Happy birthday to Regulus while he sat there with a ghost of a smile on his face. After another hour or so the four of you found yourselves in your shared bed.

You couldn't help but feel guilty since Regulus hadn't really expressed any emotion which wasn’t necessarily not normal about his birthday. You felt like maybe you had upset him in some way, maybe you over stepped or maybe he was irritated due to the mess you Remus and Barty made. 

You were spiraling. 

Till you heard a whisper.

“Thank you..” 

It was quiet for a few seconds, you supposed no one really knew what to say.

“For what Black? I feel like we kinda ruined your birthday.” Said a almost half asleep Barty

“It wasn't ruined Junior! It just didn't go.. as planned..'' defend Remus who laid on the other side of you. 

You and Regulus laid in the middle of Barty and Remus.

“Would the two of you stop bickering for just a moment please?” You say with a small shake of your head and a small chuckle. 

The next second there's a small choir of ‘Sorry angel’ and ‘Sorry love’.

“What are you thanking us for, Reggie?” 

You say pushing some of his black curly hair behind his ear looking at him softly, though he probably couldn't tell since it was dark in the room.

The only light coming through the window from the half moon.

“For today.. I know it didn't go how any of you planned or would have wanted it to go, but still. It was nice. I spent most of the day with my brother though he can be insufferable, loud and dramatic most of the time, it was still nice. And then to come home to the three people who mean everything to me laughing and having fun... That was the best part. I know I'm not the easiest when it comes to celebrating my birthday but, your three and Sirius have been the only people who have ever actually cared for my birthday. You've never treated it like how my parents did. Never used it as an excuse to have a big party full of people I didn't know or care about just so it seemed like we were better then them or make it seem like we were the perfect family, even though it was evident that we weren't. You've always made it about me and always respected what I'm comfortable with and well I appreciate that. So.. Thank you.. I love you.. All three of you..”

“We love you too Reg.” You say quietly, giving Regulus a soft kiss.

“Awwww did Regulus Black just say he loves me.” Barty practically squealed.

Barty then pulls Regulus into him so Regulus’s back is to Barty's front and then proceeds to messily kiss Regulus all over the side of his face while Regulus tries and fails to get away from him.

Remus then starts to laugh harder than you had seen in a while, almost falling off the bed as he hears the bickering between the two (mostly on Regulus' part) and sees the shadows of a struggling Regulus and a very determined Barty. 

You can't help but start to laugh almost as hard as Remus as you try and get the words out to have Barty let go of poor Regulus.

The night continues for only a few more moments it's filled with more laughing and eventually sleepy good night kisses and I love yous.

To say the four of you had an interesting relationship would be an understatement. It could be messy and chaotic, it could be a fucking headache sometimes. 

But there was love. There was always love. 

There were mornings where the four of you would wake up and just lay in bed happier than any of you thought you could ever be.

There were tender kisses and loving touches.

Dreams and promisses of the future.

There were smiles and laughing fits that would fuel you for the days when you felt like you couldn't even get out of bed.

Admittedly, it was a lot most of the time. 

There were screaming matches and arguing at its worst times but at its best times it was you and three people that you couldn't see your life without. Three people that made life easier most of the time. People who could make you laugh till you cried and that would hold you while you cried and fall apart.

This was a life that none of you ever thought you'd have the opportunity to have, and ever so often one of you would feel like you didn't deserve the life you had.

This was the kind of life that probably wouldn’t exist for you guys in different universes. But here, in this universe? This is the life you have and you wouldn't trade it for the world.

Hi Anon!! Im extremely flattered that you consider me an expert in Snape matters😭 I love you for that💚. Ok let’s see, I’m going to try to stick to what we see in canon (if I stray off canon don’t be surprised💀):

Molly: I feel like this would be a very stable and domestic relationship. Snape would definitely feel support in this relationship and he’d feel like he could finally relax. They’d garden together, cook together, have tea times and gossip together. Molly is very motherly (Assuming this is after her and Arthur separate, she has a bunch of children, so this makes sense) and Snape never had that type of care in his life, so it would be a very nurturing environment. When it comes to her kids, I feel like it would be a bit strenuous on his part but he’d definitely help take care of them as if they were his!

Narcissa: I ship this actually! I always thought this relationship would be very stressful because of all of the DE stuff. Cissa isn’t an OFFICIAL DE but she does have something to do with it. They’re both under pressure and ofc that can cause strain on relationships, but I have a feeling they’d ride it out. They’ve known each other for what feels like forever and they’ve been with each other through a lot. Their situation won’t get in the way of their love, not if they can help it.

Lockhart: 💀💀💀! This is one of those relationships where a borderline insane person starts dating an idiot and they slowly start losing brain cells🤣! Snape would absolutely wanna choke the life out of Lockhart but at the end of the day, he’d care about that idiot, whether he likes it or not. I personally don’t feel like they’d last considering Lockhart isn’t the bravest soul and Snape has a pretty dangerous lifestyle. The minute things go sideways he’d panic and run, and Snape would definitely see it coming. I think this relationship is one of those “it won’t be forever but at least we had a little time together” relationships.

Barty Crouch Jr: Lord have mercy…chaos. I don’t think that would be a long term thing…they have two VERY different set of morals and Snape would get very overwhelmed in this relationship. Snape is already ashamed of the fact that he was a DE in the first place…the things he has to do…the things he has to witness…I can’t imagine him being with someone who enjoys it that much. I think this would probably be a strictly physical relationship, I don’t see emotions being involved.

Tonks: This would definitely be a comfortable and stable relationship! Tonks would make sure he’s as happy as possible. Severus would feel so loved and so happy, because Dora would DEFINITELY get him to do things out of his comfort zone in attempt to broaden his horizon! He’d discover new interests and feel free to do things he either never thought about or always wanted to do. She’s his breath of fresh air!

Fleur: This is a hard one, I admit I never really paid that much attention to Fleur. She had a lot of similar traits to Severus: She was very blunt and always spoke her mind which means she came off as snobby and rude. But she was also a bit arrogant and conceited, which would irk him just a bit, but they don’t exceed their similarities. Severus would thoroughly enjoy being with some who has similar aspects to him in attitude because it means he can be himself. Just like Severus, Fleur wasn’t really LIKED…just tolerated, so he’d definitely be able to relate to her which is extremely important to him. He’s never felt as though he fit in anywhere so it would be blissful to feel that familiarity in his partner. In the books, it’s very noticeable that Fleur has a lot of love for people close to her despite her “rude” demeanor. This is a trait she also shares with Severus. He’d know that she had his back no matter what and he’d be determined to do whatever it took to let her know he has hers as well.

Karkaroff: YES!! I LOVE this ship so much! As much as I want to paint this out to be what I want, I’m gonna go off of how he’s perceived in the books, which means this relationship isn’t all cutesy and angsty. They have zilch in common besides being DEs. Karkaroff was immoral, irresponsible and quite cowardly. Snape would find these traits to be an added on headache for him and that’s the last thing he needs. Similar to Lockhart, Karkaroff isn’t the bravest soul. He fled the moment he got whiff that the Dark Lord was back. That means the relationship is unstable. That’s a no no. Snape needs stability in his life, but he also needs loyalty. Karkaroff has already proven that he’d play on whatever side that meant he’d benefit in some way, and if that means betraying Severus then who’s to say he wouldn’t do it? Severus is a double spy, the last thing he needs is betrayal. This relationship would probably be physical with very faint emotions attached. They have two very different thought processes and neither of them would be completely happy in an actual relationship together.

Lucius: MY OTP😫! I’m gonna be as non biased as possible when I say this…they’d be husbands. Boyfriends be damned, they are married. Lucius was one of the first people in his house to befriend him and from there a beautiful friendship formed. It’s very angsty because I think Lucius definitely groomed Severus into joining the DEs, but he also grew to care about him. Lucius knows more about Severus than anyone else so they already have that domestic vibe going on. They’re comfortable with each other and they’ve been together through it all. Lucius has always went out of his way to brighten up Snapes day or just show him a little appreciation. Severus knows how Lucius is: The snobby “I’m better than you” appearance he tries to keep up, the cold demeanor he has around others…but Sev knows better than that. Behind closed doors, while Lucius still is a very confident man, he’s not as stable as he makes himself out to be. All this DE stuff and Voldemort makes him an emotional wreck (even though he hides it pretty well) which means he’s just as in need of stability as Severus. They’ve always found that in each other so it was only a matter of time before feelings grew and became mutual. They’d do anything for each other and I feel like they’d be the one to snap each other out of the dark state they’re in mentally. Just like with Cissa, it’ll take A LOT to come in between the love they have.

Bellatrix: Oof…again, chaos💀. I don’t see them being together at all…it’s similar to Barty, they have two very different personalities and mindsets and they just wouldn’t be compatible in the way Severus would need. 1) Bella is obsessed with Voldemort. Snape would find that ‘beyond the point of return’ annoying…there’s no loyalty to him because she’s hopelessly devoted to her lord and savior Tom Riddle. 2) She seemed to irritate him🤣 I don’t think he’d get into a relationship with someone he didn’t like to be around. Bella is literally so unstable and she doesn’t seem to really CARE about anything. If they DID have a relationship, it’s STRICTLY physical.

Trelawney: Uuummmm…I have no clue😭. I feel like they’d have a relationship similar to him and Tonks, just weirder💀. She’d probably give him a headache from time to time but the love would be there, so it’s all good.

Remus: I’m going to be honest with you, this is tough for me because I hate all of the Marauders and I’d be biased and say “they’d never be together, next caller” but I’m not going to do that. You deserve an unbiased answer: Very domestic relationship. I feel like it would take a while for Severus to get over their past (which means a lot of angst) but once he does, he’ll start noticing the things they have in common. Both are intelligent, introverted, both loved the Dark Arts, both taught DADA, both are flawed, both suffered with loss, both are half-bloods, and both wanted to fit in. Remus is kind (it hurt to say that), patient, and would definitely be far more tolerant of Severus’ attitude and personality, especially knowing he had a hand in why he acts like that in the first place. Remus is a bit cowardly but I feel like it wouldn’t get in the way of the relationship too much. The relationship would no doubt be built off of new found trust and respect for one another, so it would definitely grow to be a stable relationship, especially after the war ends (let’s pretend they both survive😀) and they both settle down.

Sirius: Goody, another Marauder🙄/j. This relationship is angst beyond repair. I feel like this relationship is built around “my dick is bigger than yours” energy, which means it’s just a constant fight for dominance (whether that’s ‘I’m better than you’ domination or sexual domination 👁). I really can’t see there being any TRUE feelings in this relationship, and that’s not me being biased, I honestly don’t see it. Sirius put Severus through a lot and caused him a lot of trauma and I don’t see Severus forgetting that. There is a possibility that the feelings would grow to be one-sided and Sirius genuinely falls for him, but mutual feelings are out the window in my opinion. If they did have a relationship, Sev would keep it physical.

Rita Skeeter: Gossip couple…literally that’s it💀. But seriously, I don’t think they’d be in a relationship. If they did have something physical then it would probably be due to alcohol and boredom, but I don’t see any romance in it.

Umbitch: He would choke her with his bare hands.

here is my little head canon’s for the characters in art heist baby! to distract me from the upcoming MCD’s. I hope you enjoy!

James: wanted to be an astronaut when he was younger because he saw a photograph of one. will always drink/eat whatever he was given, even if it was gross because he didn’t want to be rude. fell in love once during school for a boy who would never love him the same way.

Regulus: has a peanut allergy but will take that to the grave. kept all the photos sirius took and he takes them out occasionally and cries to himself. loves cats. he always wished his parents taught him to paint rather than steal art.

Sirius: i feel like he would really like dinosaurs as a kid and even now he’d read about them. loves toast. I can’t explain it. but he loves toast. has a seafood allergy but still loves seafood. loves the colour red.

Remus: always wore his dad’s jumpers as a kid because as a baby they’d use them for his blankets and he didn’t want to use anything else. wants to get a University education because that’s what he strives for and to also save up to give his parents a better life. loves the colour brown and disagrees with anyone who says it’s boring.

Lily: loves apples and making things with apples. wanted to be an artist because it was the one thing Petunia didn’t like doing and Lily knew that Petunia wouldn’t try to upstage her. loves dresses and overalls!! loves the beach but only the ones in France and Italy where the shore is rocks instead of sand!

Mary: grew up in a big family so painting was her way to escape from the noise. she always gave her paintings away as gifts because that was her love language. whenever she visits home, she always cooks with her mum. that’s probably the one thing that she will miss.

Marlene: didn’t grow up in a great neighbourhood which is why she was so good at slight of hand and why she had a passion to steal things. though she still wanted to make it out of that town. never thought she’d love anyone before Dorcas. loves honey on bread. loves honey so much she named her pet rabbit honey. always loved braiding her hair and just others in general.

Dorcas: grew up with no siblings which is why she loves this group so damn much. wanted to go into fashion before she took a computer class in school and fell in love with computers and hacking. though she still practices fashion now. always wears gold jewellery because that’s what her mother wore and she loves her mum.

Peter: mumma’s boy, but in a good way. he has no issues with his dad, but he just gravitates to his mum. his best friend broke their arm while they were playing and Peter didn’t like the fact that he couldn’t help. which is why he went into medicine so he could help. has a little sister who he loves more than words could say. his sister and mum are the two people he’ll miss most in the world

Barty: he only likes being called Bartemius by Evan and Regulus because those are the two people he loves most. was a mumma’s boy but only because his dad didn’t like him. he’d always love his mum. Evan is the first and only boy he’ll fall in love with. loves the colour green, but only dark green. loves coffee over tea but will only drink tea if Evan makes it

Evan: grew up with just him and his mum so he was a little lonely as a kid. Barty was his first friend because he didn’t seem hyper and loud like the other kids were. really liked doing math as a subject. even now he’s super good at maths. loves bananas. loves his mum’s cooking.
