Book side of Tumblr! I need help finding a book for my sister!

So, back in Mavo (or middle school for other places) she read a book that had an orange-colored book cover with a tan boy on it. The book was about this young boy who lived with his sister in a boring neighborhood, and he was bored until new neighbors moved in, another young boy and his grandpa. The sister in the book apparently died after being hit by a car. The boy and his grandpa turn out to be aliens, and my sister insists that they are turtle aliens, who help the boy get his sister back using time travel, but they (the boy and his friend, the turtle alien) never see each other again and apparently the boy doesn't remember his neighbor at the end either. We've been looking for it everywhere, but can't find it, though we found many others looking for the same book. If anyone could help us find the book, it would be very much appreciated!

For more information, it was a Duth/Nehterlands book with, I think, the word Neighbor/Buurman in the title (Something Like, 'My Neighbor/Mijn Buurman' in it or something). The book is probably from around the late 20th to the early 21st century. It was read in Mavo (Middle School-ish), so it was most likely a kids book or a teen book, for ages 11/12 and up.

Dus toen ze terug was in Mavo (of op de middelbare school voor andere plaatsen) las ze een boek met een oranje boekomslag met een lichtbruine jongen erop.

Het boek ging over deze jonge jongen die met zijn zus in een saaie buurt woonde, en hij verveelde zich totdat er nieuwe buren kwamen wonen, een andere jonge jongen en zijn opa.

De zus in het boek stierf blijkbaar nadat ze door een auto was aangereden.

De jongen en zijn opa blijken buitenaardse wezens te zijn, en mijn zus houdt vol dat het buitenaardse schildpadden zijn, die de jongen helpen zijn zus terug te krijgen door middel van tijdreizen, maar zij (de jongen en zijn vriend, de buitenaardse schildpad) zien elkaar nooit. nog een keer en blijkbaar herinnert de jongen zich zijn buurman op het einde ook niet meer.

We hebben er overal naar gezocht, maar kunnen het niet vinden, ook al vonden we vele anderen die naar hetzelfde boek zochten.

Als iemand ons zou kunnen helpen het boek te vinden, zou dat zeer gewaardeerd worden!

Voor meer informatie: het was een Nederlands/Nederlands boek met volgens mij het woord Buurman/Buurman in de titel. Het boek dateert waarschijnlijk van eind 20e tot begin 21e eeuw. Het werd gelezen in het Mavo (Middenschool-achtig), dus het was hoogstwaarschijnlijk een kinderboek of een tienerboek, voor kinderen van 11/12 jaar en ouder.

Need help remembering a book title!!!

It's an early 20th century, American, boy-coming-of-age story written around then.

My father first recommended it to me as "like an urban Tom Sawyer, or Penrod by Booth Tarkington"

I think it's actually a couple of books, but my copy was a single collections.

A kid is just wandering around and having summer adventures in either New York or Chicago around the turn of the 20th century.

A big portion is him organizing a stickball/baseball game in an empty lot.

The kid also tried to write a hard-boiled detective novel, but eventually lost focus.

There may have been alliteration in the title?

HELP FIND VMINKOOK FICFrom what i remember, V has a personality disorder, one named Taehyung, V and another i think introduced as a female called Vantae or smth. Taehyung is the original one and V is the one take takes the brunt of things and Vantae sees the assault i think. V is in the mafia and is really dangerous and famous. Jk from what i remember is a police officer and JM is a prostitute in the beginning of the book. JM and JK knew each other before but i don’t remember how. All i know is that V and Jk have this weird chemistry and Taehyung and Jm have chemistry. I remember that JM used to be with RM and that at one scene Jm just wants to be free but is told by V that he will be free after doing this one thing with them but is told that he won’t be set free because they can’t let him go. The last scene in the story is them in a car or plane leaving to somewhere and Jm says bye to RM and finally officially cuts things off with him. Tae evidently likes JM. i’m pretty sure there is a sequel and in the sequel JM is more hard core. PLS HELP MEE, i can’t find it for the life of me. Dunno if it’s on wattpad or ao3 (archive of my own).

SOMEONE HELP ME FIND OUT WHERE THIS PHRASE CAME FROM, I'M SURE I HEARD IT IN SOME COMIC OR SERIES BUT I DON'T REMEMBER WHERE. The sentence goes like this:

I remember thinking that the sister wasn't difficult to take care of, but rather that the mother who says that couldn't take care of two children at the same time, Does anyone know where this phrase is from????

I need to find the trilogy I read when I was a teenager. Please someone help me:

It’s a world where everyone has a single (but not unique) power. People can collect powers by killing someone and eating their heart to get the power(s) they have.

I think (not sure at all) the main character is named Adam. His father is known for being a bad person and having like 8 powers.

I don’t know how, MC ends up in a camp? It might be training for something, and he doesn’t like it there very much.

He also ends up meeting his dad and the guy doesn’t seem to be as bad as MC was convinced to believe. But there’s an attack and dad ends up dying in front of him. Not before asking MC to eat his heart, cause all those powers in the wrong hands could be dangerous.

MC has many powers now and one of them is slowing down time. That’s all I remember plot wise. He might try to lead a rebellion? Idk, but that was a theme I loved back then, so that might be an element.

The MC is queer and has a lover, but I think the love interest is introduced kinda late in the series. I think the love interest dies and MC decides to become a tree in a forest? Weird I know, but I remember something like that happened.

The covers for the books were: green, red, and i don’t remember the third one.

I need help finding a children’s book. It’s about a boy who sees a monster on a mountain near their home and he tells his parents but they don’t believe him. So he goes and talks to the monster and the monster EATS HIM. and then it goes home and pretends to be the boy and the parents tuck him in bed.

I asked my sister if she remembers it and she doesn’t and my mom insists she would only read us stories about nice monsters. I need to know I didn’t make this up and I can’t find it on google

There’s this manga I used to read a long time ago when I was a kid that I randomly pulled off the shelves of Barnes and Noble and I’m trying to find out what it was. Now that I think about it, if my parents knew what was in it they probably wouldn’t have let me read it. I only remember small details though.

The main characters were a high school boy and girl. They were fairies or something and they were part of some sort of fairy organization.

There’s a scene where the girl as one of these small little potion bottles they could drink out of that would give them a little power up, but the girl was indecisive about drinking them because she was trying to lose weight. Meanwhile the boy is thinking like “her losing weight means she’ll be easier to lift, but it’ll also make her boobs smaller! Oh no!” And he had a thing where he just really wanted to see her naked? Idk. Like I said, I shouldn’t have been reading it.

There was some other arc where they find that their teacher is hiding something, and the boy is really invested in figuring out what his secret is. Eventually, the boy concludes that the teacher is secretly a woman because the teacher has long luscious hair, only showers in private, and arranges each bite of their meals into mini versions of the meal in the spoon. Yk. Like a woman. Well it turns out that the teacher’s secret is that he’s a fairy too, a powerful one at that. But he’s afraid of heights, so it’s super embarrassing.

And that’s about all I remember. I have a sort of vibe of what the manga looked like aesthetically in my head, but that’s kinda hard to describe and who knows how accurate that memory is after all these years anyway? I don’t think it was anything that chibi-ish, but again, I’m not sure.

This isn’t much to go on, but any help would be much appreciated!

Hello everyone.

So there's this YA book (series) that I read a couple of years ago. I do not remember much about it, but would appreciate your help finding it again.

So here's everything I remember:

The protagonist was a girl. She went into a school, maybe learning magic but definitely learning fighting.

I'm quite sure it's a fantasy book.

The girl also had a love interest (a boy).

I read this book in 2020 or so, which means it is fairly old.

Y'all helped me find a fanfic, but can we find an older novel?

I THINK its three words something like the unexpected mage or something but the story starts with a guy going to a job interview and getting sucked into a book or something while waiting. He gets found by this dude in the woods and realizes he has magic??

At some point he goes to the city and hires a street rat and there's a funny scene where he's having a bath and gets asked about his circumcision lmao bc Its not a thing in the fantasy world as far as I'm aware.

Hey guys, does anyone recognize maybe a series or a book?

I basically don't know the plot, i think it might be fantasy but I'm not sure. All that I remember is that in the book brother and sister (?) and madly in love and keep fucking, but it only revealed to the reader that they're siblings way later (for the shock value or whatever).

Does anyone know what kind of book/series that might be? Might be YA but again, I'm not sure at all. Saw an opinion on my dash and lost the name of the book.
