hawkeye and trapper get fake septums

(id under the cut)

[image id: a three-page digital comic about characters from the TV show MASH, illustrated by "druid-for-hire." On page 1, frank burns squints at Hawkeye from a short distance, who is next to Trapper, who is reading a newspaper that obscures his face. "Pierce," Burns asks, "what's on your face?" Hawkeye turns to face him, revealing a septum piercing. "what's what, Frank?" he asks. Shocked and affronted by this breach in army regulations, he shouts, "I can't!! Believe you!! It's not enough for you to disagrace the army uniform by being out of it all the time? You have to go and--and do that! You look like a punk! Or a cow!"

On page 2, Hawkeye, unbothered, replies "Y'know, Frank, I'm finally living up to the Pierce name. I was thinking about going for some ear tag earrings. Maybe I can get a nurse to pull my udders." Frank howls, "That's disgusting!" Turning to Trapper he shouts, "Did you have anything to do with this, McIntyre?" Trapper pulls down the newspaper to reveal that he's wearing three septum rings and says, "I sure did! He stole my look!"

On page 3, Frank says "You're both terrible. Both of your butts are going on report!" while Hawkeye takes out his apparently fake septum ring behind his back. "Report for what, Frank?" he asks; Frank turns to see that the piercing is now missing. "Yeah, what's the matter, Frank?" Trapper says, whose piercing is suddenly missing as well. Frank storms off, yelling "Neither of you can pull the wool over my eyes!! Just wait until General Barker hears about this!" Some time later, Frank is standing next to General Barker, pointing at Hawk. "General, I'm telling you, the hole is THERE!" he shouts. "Go and take a look in those nostrils for yourself!" There is a long and awkward pause. The General did not like that. Hawkeye remarks, "Gee Frank, take a girl to dinner first." end id]

It was Maid Day today yesterday a week ago so I got struck by inspiration to draw the worsties, and it ran away from me into a whole AU where they’re coworkers at a maid cafe. She’s a med student & this is just a part time job, and this is his depression job while he gets his life back together. He needs something he can be workaholic about to forget what it’s like having a personal life and personal issues. He’s actually the accountant, but the new hire janitor (Izutsumi) doesn’t show up for half her shifts and is a sloppy worker, so he gets the extra work of doing her job on top of his because he’s undervalued and overworked. Of course, janitors also have an uniform to keep the aesthetic cohesion as they go about cleaning the place, of course.

Senshi’s the part time cook you only see slivers off, he’s kind and warm when you do see him and have a chat but most shifts he’s in and out the kitchen without a trace. Laios and Falin are regulars because Falin and Marcille are besties & in the same med school, Laios accompanies Falin as she visits her friend at work and gets hooked on the food. Chilchuck has to remind Marcille to work instead of chatting with Falin for an hour, and next thing he knows she’s distracting him from work too. That’s it that’s the AU. Inspired by this idol AU fanart a bit <3

So many lil comics i couldn’t indulge myself to draw save me #shoutout to the time as a cashier in training at a convenience store I was left by my coworker who was supposed to wash the greasy chicken #oven but didn’t so I had to clean it for the first time myself while I was alone in the store and was also supposed to man the front #Shoutout to my convenience store’s accountant helping us with cashier duties often when there was less job to do ty ty #Understaffed struggles are so real #People also call Chil a manager because the boss is most often away so he just does everything #There’s no union but maybe one day he’ll get to overthrow the boss idk #The pay IS good at least #Modern au

#if youre wondering about the blank space that was supposed to be a side profile but i was having such a hard time i gave up #yes theyre both trans. this holds no weight on the story but its a thing #well. dazai is. im not sure how being trans would work out for chuuya considering being literally death but there is definitely an allegory #theyre obviously not going to have the similarities appearance-wise so i had to think abt how to tie them together #pharos' prison fit now comes from dazais striped dress #theres also the bracelets & choker. chuuyacore but also one for every bandaged section #also i tend to draw dazai and chuuyas hair similar so theres that #its especially apparent in their little middle bangs i think #this appeals to nobody but me and was mainly for a joke abt chuuya & ryojis stage actors but. its a thing now !#i like to think that present day dazai/minato wears the eye bandages. or maybe an eye patch #and ryoji chuuya can get his gloves and hat #now everyone imagine chuuya standing menacingly over dazais bed every night and talking to him threateningly to help #well i imagine here he would actually be on purpose threatening instead of just creepy fhfhdhdh #dazai would definitely push his buttons. rip chuuya im so sorry #well now ive drawn both of skk as pharos. this probably says smth about me #my art :d #skk #ryomina too technically but it feels unfair to tag it that

#when i was a kid I was kinda neglected and my parents didn't like me very much but whatever #in tv there would always be these talent #and they would stare little kids with they parents being THERE and PROUD #so in my kid brain i thought: alright so to better my situation i just need to get really good at something and then they'll care for me #and the only skill i had been complimented on before was drawing #so i started teaching myself drawing #birds because i liked them and plants because i thought my mother loved and later skeletons because i was emo lol #and i think how i am so perfectionist in my art (eventhough i try to be happy with just whatever i make these days)#and i think about that quote of suzanne riveca thats like:#(my art) has to be perfect it has to be irreproachable in every way to make up for it #to make up for the fact that it's me #and about that one tweet that went something lile #sometimes we strive for pervection in our art because we hope to one day create something that doesn't look like we made it #and how i love drawing and hat that knife against my throat that hinges my life on it being good #and how no matter what i do #I can't get rid of that sinking feeling that i always have to struggle and earn my place in someones life #even when i know it's not like that and thats just the mentally ill part of my brain being loud and dumb #Like i got so many issues under controll by now #many reason to be proud! and be positive about things getting better and my own strength #but some part of my brain is still that little girl alone in all the empty rooms #and i can't get her out of there #because the strength that girl needed to make it through is the same strength i need to help myself through the waves of the aftermath #like i feel like to heal i'd need to allow mysf to be weak but that prospect of not holding myself clenxhed like a fist is so scary #and also knowing how bad my brain can be who knowd what would happen lol #and I WISH not every therapist in my city that accepts patients was a weird nutjob #so i could talk to them about it rather than the tumblr tag #but this is the hand we've been given and it's the hand we need to hold or however that goes #a few days ago someone called me charming and that was very nice #tumblr still limiting the tags to 30 😔 how is a girl supppse to therapise herself in that economy????#whatever!!! i am shattering like glass but at least i have viddy games and cool people in my life that like me despite it all and music

Well, I guess my inspirations would come from the fandoms I've been in, if anything! I've picked up something new from each fandom I've been in, getting myself to try out new things as I'm drawing new characters and getting myself to do more thought out drawing projects ^^

#ask #anonymous #like for example when i was in the homestuck fandom i had to teach myself to draw horns on characters as well as glasses #undertale helped me with drawing hoodies #[REDACTED] got me into drawing humans- and i've only improved from there #pokemon got me to draw anthros and creatures (even tho I'm still not great at either lmao)#south park helped me with hats (go figure) and helped me find out my style of drawing eyes #otgw helped me with cloaks and capes (also antlers but sshhh)#so on so forth #basically bc i've been in a mixture of anime/cartoon like fandoms i've adapted my drawing style accordingly #resulting in the style i have now #but also. i have to say. and i'm sorry for this. but *my* style? apologies if i'm finding this hard to believe but also *my* style?#are you sure you didn't send this to the wrong blog like no offence anon but. yk. there are better drawing styles out there #or maybe this is my paranoia telling me that no one *truly* likes how i draw and they're just being *nice* idk HHHHHHHHH #nah but thank you for this ask honestly!! i'm glad you like my art enough to ask about it <3 #(and sorry for my paranoia and modesty....)
