Dark corners and unsettling nooks were where John Constantine thrived. His brand of magic wouldn't have been possible without them, and he'd long ago sought them out to learn his trade, settled down, and made himself a home of it. Unlike those born to it, he'd chosen this life, near enough chased it down and forced it to be his best mate. He'd always been drawn to magic, and it was every bit the addiction as the pack of smokes in the pocket of his trench coat at this point. He loved it, hated it, needed it-- a little too much at times.

Real magic didn't often advertise itself, but the demonic and the undead-- those things left a mark. Perhaps he'd always been sympathetic to it, but it was a sense he'd honed over time and through experience, and he'd learned to trust that little otherworldly nudge. Something was going down, and it had pulled him uninvited toward an otherwise empty-looking warehouse. It was practically pulsing with energy from whatever was happening inside, but most people wouldn't have paused to look twice at it. The opposite, actually. Negative energy like this had a tendency to repel. Normal people looked away and hurried past it without even fully understanding why.

"Cozy little spot, ennit? Very Texas Chainsaw Massacre even without the ritual." He casually plucked the lit cigarette from between his lips, eyes narrowing slightly on the scene, as though he hadn't just invited himself into somebody else's trouble. He didn't offer to help-- yet. He wasn't clear on the end goal, but Constantine always had at least six ulterior motives, most of them underhanded, self-serving, or downright diabolical, if not all three.

Character info-

Hey! so this is an OC rp, however i will diverge as little from canon regarding other characters as i can. Her name is Jillian Constantine, and is the daughter of john constantine in an alternate universe.

She was raised with her father in london from the ages 7-10 after her mothers death in a drunk driving incident. she was able to sneak herself a basic magic education through the time spent with her dad, until he was killed in a justice league confrontation offworld, where she was promptly thrown into the local foster system.

using her novice magical abilities she was able to escape to run away and head to america to learn more about magic and superhero-ing around age 14.

currently she moves around frequently, typically bearing a backpack of books and supplies.

John sighed after another busy day doing what he does, taking down another hidden supernatural demon that seems to have taken over a section of town. However, over the following days his mind was distracted due to the red head he met that night. Usually he wouldn’t get that shy around someone but him? He seems to have did that perfectly.

He did remember the card that the sage game him. He sees his name once more. Angel Solishart. “........” Well, he did say if he needed a hand he could give him a call but he also wanted to see him again-wait, he did?!? He felt his face burn again before shaking his head.

“Oi, what the hell is going on with me? Geez, seems like i already got the hots for him. Ughhh, no no. I could use the help even with the sudden sights of more of the demons around.” John takes a breath before getting his cell phone and begins dialing the number on the card but how is he going to tell him? Eh, he’ll think of something. He hopes.

Dark. Dark and cold and empty were the halls of this nightmare. Pain and loathing clung to the wallpaper like mildew, peeling it up from the edges. The sick, grey light that illuminated the corridors came only from the struggling lamps above his head. Distant sounds of screams and wailing permeated the air as he glided down the path toward his destination.

He looked out a passing window to make certain he was right. A wrought iron gate in the distance, through woven metal, spelled out 'RAVENSCAR ASYLUM'. This night terror was used to be one of the dreamer's more common, feeling like a painting one passed by every morning on their way to the kitchen. It had long since faded into a nothingness of background clutter, and only though his arrival did the painting get another glance.

He knew this dreamer only through the tales in the libraries of Castle Dream -- flickers on pages in books in shelves. It was a forbidden act to him; climbing into the dreams of others outside of the castle. It was too dangerous, he had been told. There was no going back now, was there? He was almost there. The faint sounds of a mid-century ECT machine crackling with strain gave it away.

Pain was here. Fear followed. He fought the urge to feed upon it as he passed through it like a fog and into the room, lit by a single overhead lamp. Piggy. He stood at the side of the table, turning the dials with a subtle, knowing smile. Writhing on the table, ankles and wrists reddened under the hold of four-point restraints, was his target. He was younger here, in this place. Memory did that. There wasn't much time before the dream would tear itself apart for the sake of his sanity. "John..." he called as he reached out to touch the man's head, leaning down over into his vision, "John Constantine..."

A giant quest onto itself- I haven't consumed every media John has appeared in. For reference I have read/watched (in no particular order): the entire original Hellblazer run and its special Constantine: The Hellblazer Hellblazer: City of Demons Hellblazer: All His Engines Hellblazer: Chas the Knowledge sandman #3 Swamp Thing 1982 The Horrorist Sandman Universe: Hellblazer, Hellblazer: Dead in America Hellblazer: Rise and Fall The Trenchcoat Brigade Dark Knights of Steel injustice year 3 Batman: Urban Legends Batman: Damned Zatanna and the Ripper Spirit World both dark justice league movies Pre established connections and plotting is encouraged. Especially if your muse is from DC or the Sandman universe.

I don't consider all of hellblazer canon to my portrayal, I might make a list at some point, but most notably I am choosing to ignore Brian Azzarello's Hellblazer and the final 50 issues of the original Hellblazer. Also Hellblazer: Rebirth and any comic that takes place in a different universe. If you wish to rp with specific versions of John (like DKoS or Injustice verse) feel free to come plot!

Hellblazer is a british political satire horror comic about a queer man in the 80s, this means trigger warnings for canon typical gore, a general pessimism about the world, politics and Britishness. Smoking and alcohol abuse will also be present. I will tag these triggers and any other common ones that may arise.

A foul-mouthed, disillusioned, chain smoking British cinic, John Constantine has had an affinity for magic since his youth. After running away from home as a teenager after a botched curse caused his father to become withered and frail, John eventually made his home in London. Quickly becoming involved in the city's occult circles. From there he made a name for himself for being a powerful sorcerer, one who can solve most problems with only his wit, but also a weirdness magnet. Becoming inevitably linked with forces truly out of his depth.

Though John's age varies across media, for simplicity's sake I will keep it at 43. His usual stomping ground is London, but he travels around very often for various reasons so he can easily be put wherever he needs to be. He's a very easy character to add to other universes (just ask DC).

He is also a relentless flirt, please don't mistake this as me trying to force a ship. If you / your character don't like his advances, feel free to let me / him know ic / ooc. Characters under 25 are too young for him.

Alexandra Catherine Todd-Wayne:

- Daughter of Willis and Catherine Todd

- Younger sister/sibling of Jason Todd (6 years younger)

- Adopted by Bruce Wayne at age 5 with Jason

- 16 years old

- Ace, bisexual and Demigirl

- Aspired to be Robin when she was younger, is now a non-Batman-approved vigilante named Corvid (as a lot of corvids are preditors of robins, plus it’s the name I usually use online/lh)

- Generally keeps the non-killing rule as Corvid, but is a bit more harsh then some of the other bats

- Has similar goals to the robins (improving Gotham, keeping down crime, and generally keeping people safe) but after Jason’s death no longer wanted the moniker
