First, the big axolotl in the room. Blubbly is not in this game. I've been streaming at least one run a day on Twitch, and will continue doing so until Blubbly is added. (https://www.twitch.tv/thetaliacarver) Look at my profile picture. It's simple. A pink axolotl with yellow, pink, and blue gills all in pastel. I will not stop streaming this game until either they add Blubbly or I figure out how to mod them in.

The above bias aside, I have torn through this game and adore it. I'm excited to see where it will go. Aside from just being a fan of axolotls, I enjoy a good twin-stick roguelike. Also, I put "playing" at the top, not just because it's something I will keep coming back to, but because given the dev's roadmap, it will look different a year from now.

As the game stands now it is feature complete, it has everything I was looking for, and yet there will be more. Indie games, especially when they see moderate to good success, can take their complete game and flesh it out, like adding a good background to a portrait.

I think the standout for me in this game, is that the secondary guns you get, for a big part, are indicative of that, secondary. Allowing the primary weapon to be powerful makes the choice more impactful. One the one hand this is good, and the other, the balance could shift a bit I feel. Snipers are the best example of this, when I look at the list of snipers and aside from the primary they all deal the same amount of damage with only minor variance, it isn't as interesting. The melee weapons are nice because each weapon has the tradeoff of higher or lower attack speed and related damage values. It's one of those things that you can only test so much for internally.

I like the run progression, mostly. 5 biomes, 8(?) levels each? Good timing for an average run to be about 30 minutes. Although eventually I'll try my hand at speedruns after I collect the axolotls which could get it down under 18 (currently). There are some things that irk though. The Secret rooms, are sometimes amazing boons, and others just passing through another room. They don't need to all be item rooms, but it just irks me for some reason to have it be just a reference to pass through.

The music? Kind of settles into the background. Which for a roguelike is a blessing. If I put my ear out for it though I do enjoy it. Especially for "Hell'o Kitty"'s track to have meows in the background. Delightful.

Go buy this game and leave reviews telling them to put Blubbly in it (only on positive reviews) The game's good! Go support it! I'll get my silly little stuffed animal in the game, I swear it.

Když se v naší lednici objevila pomazánka ala chlap, trochu mne to vyděsilo. Ale když jsem si promnula oči a zjistila, že ten chlap je ve skutečnosti krab, zase mne to uklidnilo. Že by to ale mohlo mít spojitost s Hell'o kitty…ehm, sorry…s halloweenem, to mne nenapadlo. Až teď vidím určité podobnosti a docela mě to děsí. Inu, má to přeci být děsivý svátek.

I suspect most of you have come here for the Undertale-fandom stuff and I mostly have stuff planned for my own UT:AU - UnderDefence, but it’ll take a while to pop up anything proper about it since I’ll be concentrating on my Homestuck AU Kindstuck’s ask-comic now. (They’ve been so patient with me, I need to get it going finally. Love ya lil motherfuckers. 💜)

But! My ask box is always open for requests/suggestions/asks if you peeps and lurkers have any. Even if you’re unsure if I’d know of “the-thing”, ask anyways! Google and fandom wiki’s are handy or I can just toss back “1. WTF is that and link me up hun”. I don’t like listing things that much myself because I know I’ll still forget half-of-everything. N.S.F.W. stuff is ok as well to request, but it’ll most likely get posted cropped here and fully to my pillowfort due to the T-BAN.

Edit, since there as brave enough soul to ask (I’m proud of you dear, this didn’t even cross my mind, thank you!): Self-inserts/OC’s aren’t acceptable since those go on the commission territory and I don’t have them currently open. ówò’

Dream Box au Mima : Laissez-vous guider par vos sens...

On  nous l’a dite, ludique et immersive cette sixième exposition que nous propose le MIMA;

On l’a testée pour vous et c’est vrai ; on se laisse guider au milieu de ces oeuvres, mieux on navigue intuitif, on s’amuse, on s’instruit, on s’interroge…

Que ce soit l’entrée dans la bouche d’Elzo Durt, (artiste bruxellois déjà très connu pour ses divers réalisations d’affiches et pochettes de disques), qui tout de suite nous entraine dans un monde psychédélique très 70’s ou les formes géométriques font bon ménage avec les couleurs ultra vives des dessins Underground, ou dans le palais des glaces où la lumière joue avec les noirs et blancs et les répétitions à l’infini de notre image. Un enfant m’a d’ailleurs interpellé en me disant « Monsieur, on vous voit des milliers de fois, c’est cool ! »

Ou bien encore dans la parfaite réalisation du duo belge Hell’O intense et riche en images, on se promène dans cette grande pièce, guidé par les multiples couleurs de dessins accrocheurs se transformant en bichromie dans le dernier espace, Art quant tu nous divertis, c’est vraiment magique!  Plus sérieux dans ça démarche, l’espagnol Escif nous démontre à l’aide d’un tablette et de projection la manipulation humaine dont nous sommes tous un peu responsable autour de l’exploitation du coltan, fameux minerai précieux qui permet à nous tous de rester connectés mais aussi responsable, du fait des violents groupes rebelles qui les exploitent, du financement d’une sanglante guerre civile qui dure depuis plus de 12 ans ! 

Ahurissant  de réalisme exacerbé par la musique composée par Manu Louis… On finit hypnotisé, la tablette en main se promenant sur les dessins qui tintent lugubre… à faire et à refaire!

A l’étage, la salle pompeusement nommée « la chapelle » enferme un mobile géant en forme de nuage  proposé par l’espagnol Félipe Pantone fait de CD et autres DVD réinventés dans une autre dimension, accrochant au rythme de leurs mouvements, les lumières ambiantes pour les transformer en une multitude d’arc-en-ciel.

Ainsi donc sans trop faire de bruit, le Mima continue dans sa démarche culturelle associant librement les cultures artistiques contemporaines .

A découvrir seul, en famille ou entre amis et ne pas oublier un petit détour par la boutique ou la cafétéria parce que c’est beau, trends et on s’y sent bien tout simplement.

I expected junji Ito's work to be pointlessly gross and oppressively nihilistic but the more I read the more I dont think that at all

it's probably just cause I'm high but for every story I've read so far I've noticed very obvious social/political themes and parallels, especially Thing That Washed Up On Shore. Army of One, My Dear Ancestors, Hanging Balloons, Layers of Fear and most of the Tomie stories. My fav tho is Slug Girl that one is mostly just gross. Also teaches u to never kill slugs
