I got 2 more tattoos yesterday. My grandfather died yesterday morning, so that afternoon I went out and got a tattoo of his name. the other one I have just wanted for a while. it is a semi colon made to look like a cat. The first picture says Zeidi 1932-2016 with a heart and a jewish star. My zeidi (grandfather) was very jewish. the only thing i dont like about this tattoo was that i put the wrong birth year. it was 1931, not 32. but thats okay, with the font i chose, once it heals it will be a very easy fix. the second one, for those of you who dont know, is a for the semi colon project, which is about suicide awareness and prevention. a writer (like me) uses a semi colon when they could have ended the sentence but then decide not to, representing when some one who is depressed (like me) or suicidal could have ended their life but decided not to.
thank you so much again to @alexisnotpunkrock for going with me <3

I want a tattoo in hebrew writing, not because it looks cool or is something different. But because my second name Is hebrew, aswell as I have Jewish blood in my family line. It's a personal preference - my own decision.

If anyone that can write in hebrew and has really good handwriting want to write out my tattoo? I want it to say "My heart is in the east and I in the uttermost west"  (like the poem)
I'm not sure if i want the "an I in the uttermost west part" yet. What do you guys think?

So, I'm doing background research on a character of mine (yay backstory!) and I'm... just really confused by people who get tattoos in Hebrew? Before anyone gets all uppity, let me make it known that I am not Jewish although I have a TON of Jewish ancestry on both sides of my family so I'm not a complete dolt. I am also spiritual, and not religious. I don't want to offend anybody, I just am curious. So, my question. Isn't it highly against Jewish tradition to have a tattoo on your body? Like, you can't be buried in a Jewish cemetery with a tattoo because its considered desecration of the body right? So isn't it incredibly ironic and against the Judiac culture to be getting a tattoo, and even more so in Hebrew and lines of scripture?
Let me make it known, that I would never get a tattoo in Hebrew. I neither speak it nor am practicing so I find the thought of someone like me getting one incredibly rude, and appropriational, even with Jewish family heritage. I just don't get why you would get one?

Where should I get my tattoo?
It's going to say לבי במזרח which means "My heart is in the east" in Hebrew. Mind you I want to be a lawyer one day so it has to be in a spot that can easily be covered up. Help??
