hi i read all your byler slides and they’re awesome :)

i just wanted to mention something (byler proof) that ppl aren’t talking abt enough imo and i honestly didn’t know who better to tell than u

it’s the fact that stranger things is not the show to back away from having a queer romance at its forefront for sooo many reasons:

- queer coding from the v start of season 1 (this is something u talk abt but often ppl wash over the significance, especially knowing that the duffers are planners)

- shawn levy and dan cohen (producers) also produced ‘i’m not okay with this’ (cannon lesbian main who was gonna date her best friend/crush in later seasons) <- sounds familiar, and also proves that the producers are all for happy-in-love queer mains

i really don’t know why people don’t talk about this one ^

- considering how much duffers care about this show and how far they plan ahead, they don’t seem like the fan-service type. i trust them to stick with their guts and fight for the story they wanna tell.

- there’s already a lesbian main character on the show (who is developing a crush/love life and not just being funny!) and seems like the majority of viewers don’t hate it, considering the st4 v1 viewer numbers. so seems like losing viewers isn’t gonna happen (or not drastically at least)

and lastly

- netflix seems to be trynna step up the queer representation, especially in TV shows (heartstopper, young royals, bi casey in atypical, first kill, etc. coming out in the last couple of years) so i feel like they’d be chill with it too for diversity brownie-points

sorry this is so long. i just think it would be cool if u could idk get ppl emphasising this stuff more, bc i believe in byler optimism! :) also sorry to put this on u, i just don’t think that there’s a more influential byler than u. i would try but i have practically no followers and don’t rlly know how to reach ppl lmao.

I'm slowly working on my queer fiction shelf! I went out shopping today for new titles to add, and I'm happy that I've got "The Song of Achilles" and "Blue Lily, Lily Blue" (book 3 of The Raven Cycle) on the way as well :)

I have only read a few of these so far, but im definitely going to work on reading them all!

I've finished Good Omens, the Captive Prince trilogy + side stories, and the All For the Game trilogy. I'm hoping to start the Raven Cycle books this week, and we'll see where I go from there!

Last Movie: finished my hero academia: two heroes for the first time last night, lol it was a riot, laughed out loud a bunch of times, sent rebecca a bunch of clips of me reacting (it was great) and honestly thought it was good fun

Currently Reading: i will be real here.............i picked up three books from my library (the house in the cerulean sea by tj klune, this was our pact by ryan andrews and heartstopper v1 by alice oseman) and i’ve barely opened the first two and was planning on rereading the third one but TBH all i’ve read for the past two weeks is mswa / mha fic. soooooooooo, yeah. part of me thinks i’ve burned out a bit on reading books bc i’ve read so much these past couple months even though a bunch of it was manga so hopefully once i get this one book in my hands (cemetery boys) i can kickstart my reading books again. i really want to read that one.

Currently Watching: been binging my hero academia (i’ve finally reached s4) been trying to rewatch pitch but k brain still is in anime mode and i can’t get myself to pay attention/focus on anything else. also trying to watch a bunch more anime movies, watched your name not that long ago. also planning on watching a silent voice. and i need to watch more SG movies.

Currently Craving: literally nothing, i just smashed on like four pieces of pizza for lunch so i’m still so full B U T, i could go for a ice slushie. grape flavor or cherry limeade flavor. either sound really good right now.
