this au we’re making is driving me insane /vpos
here are some misc headcanons for the ninjago ever after high au under the cut:
- the wonderland kids (kai, nya, jay, akita, arin and harumi) are all shorter than the others, but jay is short even by wonderland standards. kai, who is just slightly taller than him, likes to bend down to talk to him to mess with him. to kiss zane (the tallest in the friend group) (or do anything other than talking to him), jay has to either:
a) stand on zane’s feet and then go on his tiptoes
b) have zane bend down
or c) jump/climb onto zane in situations where neither a nor b are applicable
- cole (son of the big bad wolf) gives geo (son of robin hood) rocks and geo gives him cool stuff his dad steals in return
- pixal (adopted daughter of eros, the au equivalent of c.a. cupid) cannot care less about relationships for herself, she only likes to help others out
- cole and vania (daughter of sleeping beauty) are super smart on their own, but actual idiots when they hang out
- zane (who is the son of the snow king/dr julien in this au), despite being a prince, treasures absolutely everything jay (son of the mad hatter (libber)) gives him and jay does the same in return. whenever zane offhandedly mentions that he wants a specific thing around jay, jay will take off his hat (wonderland logic, bottomless hat full of desired objects), reach in, take out the thing he wanted and hand it to him like “here you go!!”
- kai (son of the queen and knave of hearts), like lizzie in ever after high, constantly says “OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!” out of habit and the rest of the group (including nya, his sister who grew up with the same insanity he did) makes fun of him for it
- libber (jay’s mum, the mad hatter) took in all the wonderland kids when they had to flee wonderland (except akita (daughter of the white rabbit (or white fox)) and arin (son of alice) of course (until they came to ever after)) and acts as their cool crazy mum
- cole and geo constantly hang out at the hatdashery (libber’s wonderland-themed café (a thing carried over from ever after high)). once they attempted a date there during thronecoming (they just ran off not even halfway through the party) but ✨Wonderland Logic✨ happpened and libber kept on talking to them as she recognised them as jay’s friends (she didn’t know they were attempting to have a date there,,,,, they didn’t do it again)
- everyone thinks that zane is a cold and heartless being when in reality he’s just very awkward
- the wonderland kids and vania throw the best parties
- geo is the one who helps cole take off the hood (context: in ever after high, cerise hood (daughter of the big bad wolf and little red riding hood) hides her wolf ears under a red hood, but eventually learns to embrace that part of her, this happens to cole in the au)
- sora is the daughter of snow white in this au and, like in ever after high and dragons rising, sora’s mum/snow white still absolutely sucks
- jay is the most theatrical dramatic boyfriend ever (on the contrary, zane’s chill (literally))
i might update this with more but holy flip i love writing this au

Terraqua Week Day 4 - Free Day
@terraquaweek
It had all happened so quickly. She and Terra had been in the middle of a particularly intense battle with a giant Heartless in Prankster's Paradise, one they hadn’t encountered before. It’d looked like they were winning, when the Heartless had made an unexpected attack that Aqua hadn’t seen in time, having been too caught up in fending off the Heartless’s previous attack. But Terra had noticed, a mere second before her. He’d tried to block it but had failed and been knocked out by the Heartless’ attack.
Once that had happened, Aqua had known that she wouldn’t be able to defeat the Heartless by herself, so she briefly cast Barrier and called for backup using the gummiphone. Sora and Kairi had come within the next ten minutes, as they’d already been close by doing a mission on a neighbouring world. Riku had arrived from Mysterious Tower in the aftermath of the battle, to check that everyone was all right and the Heartless gone.
Of course, Terra hadn’t been all right. No one had been able to wake him, and while Curaga appeared to heal his physical wounds, it also did not wake him up. And so they’d taken him to Radiant Garden, to be examined by Ansem the Wise and his apprentices. Now, they were waiting outside Ansem the Wise’s castle in Radiant Garden, for someone to come out and give them an update on Terra’s condition.
Aqua couldn’t stop pacing. It had been hours since they had brought Terra to Radiant Garden via the Gummi Ship, and Ansem the Wise and his apprentices had taken him into their surgery room to examine and hopefully operate on him.
‘Why couldn’t he just let me take it? I could’ve shielded myself, I could have…’
‘You know how Terra is,’ Ventus said quietly. Ven had arrived quickly, as soon as he’d gotten Aqua’s message about what had happened. ‘He’d die before he let either of us get hurt like that.’
She felt treacherous tears sting her eyes but didn’t try to wipe them away. She didn’t want to bring any attention to them, and besides, maybe she ignored them they would just disappear. One could hope.
‘I know, Ven,’ she whispered. ‘I just… I hate this so much. Terra looks so badly hurt… I don’t know what we’d do without him if he dies.’
I don’t know what I’d do without him. Terra had been a constant in her life since she’d first started training to be a keyblade wielder, at age of ten. She hadn’t gotten along with him at first, finding him annoying and off-putting, but gradually, as the years passed, she began to see the traits of his that no one else save maybe Master Eraqus saw—his warmth, his kindness, his protective nature, his stubbornness and care. And so gradually, over the years they’d gone from strangers to friends to best friends and rivals. And Aqua had realised that she cared for him much more than she could ever say and couldn’t bear to lose him. Her, Terra and Ven being separated for over ten years due to Xehanort had only strengthened her feelings.
‘He’s not going to die,’ Ven said confidently. ‘Don’t think like that, Aqua. Remember what Master Yen Sid said? It’s important for us to believe. Terra’ll find his way back to us, you’ll see.’
Yes… she remembered. Master Yen Sid had said the same thing when she awakened in the Mysterious Tower with a comatose Ven, so many years ago. It had been easy to believe then, but now she’d experienced too much darkness to ever think that way again.
------------
Some time later, Aqua didn’t know when, Ansem the Wise finally appeared outside the castle gates, looking tired with dark shadows under his eyes.
Aqua and Ven, Riku, Sora and Kairi immediately turned toward him. He smiled at them in greeting.
‘I am sorry to have kept you waiting for so long,’ he said. ‘Our examination took us longer than we had expected.’
‘Please…’ Aqua forced her voice to stay calm. ‘Will Terra be all right?’
Ansem looked at her gravely. ‘He will live,’ he said. ‘But his condition is uncertain…’
Her heart hammered in her chest at the words. ‘What do you mean?’
‘It seems that the attack Terra bore the brunt of, infected him with a dark virus,’ Ansem said gently to her. ‘Because of this he is comatose—his mind subconsciously did this in an attempt to protect his heart. He will live, but we don’t know when he will wake up or what his condition will be like when he does.’
‘Oh…’
‘When can we take him home?’ Ven asked him.
‘We want to keep Terra here with us for further observation for another seven days. Then he can go home, provided his condition hasn’t gotten any worse,’ Ansem the Wise said.
‘Great!’ Ven said, trying to maintain an air of positivity. ‘Right, Aqua?’
‘Yes… good.’ She forced her frozen lips to move. ‘Thank you, Master Ansem. You’ve done so much to help us.’
Ansem smiled sadly. ‘It is nothing, Master Aqua. I am happy to help, and so are my apprentices. I, too, have some affection for Terra, and it grieves me that he has been hurt like this. But please be assured that he will recover and wake up. He just needs time.’
‘Thank you,’ Aqua repeated, with tears stinging her eyes, and heard Ven echo her. ‘We’ll stay in Radiant Garden until Terra is ready to leave.’
------------
Seven days later, Aqua and Ventus took Terra home to the Land of Departure.
‘Call us if he gets worse or if he wakes up,’ Ienzo instructed them when they were about to board the gummi ship. Aqua got the impression that he, like Ansem the Wise, was also worried about Terra and cared about his wellbeing.
‘Of course, Ienzo,’ Aqua said. ‘Thank you for everything you’ve all done.’
‘It was nothing,’ the man said shyly.
And so they went home. They managed somehow miraculously to carry Terra to his bedroom in the castle, despite him being so heavy, and settled him in his bed. It would’ve made it much easier if they’d had someone else to help them, but Aqua had felt too distraught to really accept any help offered by Ansem and his apprentices.
The next days passed in a painful blur. Aqua busied herself with paperwork, while Ven went on missions to various worlds, usually paired with Roxas or Xion. After all, there were still worlds to protect and the Land of Departure to maintain, and Terra being injured didn’t change that. They went at it with a surprising intensity—neither of them wanted to think too much about Terra’s absence.
But even with their days being occupied with their respective duties, they still made some time to sit at Terra’s bedside and talk to him about everything that’d been going on. They always had dinner in his bedroom, because Ven insisted that it would help Terra wake up sooner.
If she was being honest with herself, Aqua thought, she’d insisted that she needed to stay in the Land of Departure to work on paperwork because she didn’t want to leave Terra while he was like this. Throughout each day she sat often with Terra, holding his hand and talking to him, sharing the thoughts in her heart like they’d used to do back when they were kids. When had they stopped doing that? She didn’t know. From time to time, she had a sudden urge to kiss him, but she restrained herself. It didn’t feel right to do it when Terra wasn’t awake to say anything about it.
‘I know you can’t hear me, but… I miss you. I wish you would wake up soon.’
She refrained from speaking the other, more personal words that were at the front of her mouth. I love you. I need you. I don’t know what I’d do without you.
Her heart clenched at the thought of Terra never waking up. She’d already had to experience that with Ventus, though the younger boy had woken up eventually when Sora had used the Power of Waking to help guide Ven’s heart back into his body. She didn’t want to have to go through that again with Terra.
‘I swear, if you never wake up, or if it takes you ten years, I’ll never forgive you!’
---------------
Five days after they’d brought him home, Terra finally woke up. Ven was with him at the time—Aqua was preparing their dinner in the kitchen. When Ven had called out to her in such an urgent tone—“Aqua, Terra’s awake!” Aqua immediately dropped what she’d been doing and ran to Terra’s bedroom.
As she burst through the door, she found the sight of Terra sitting up staring at her with tired eyes, but very much awake. She felt as if her heart would burst with relief and joy.
‘Terra! You’re awake!’
Terra snorted slightly, but smiled at her. ‘Yeah… I guess I am.’ Then he rubbed the back of his head and a confused expression crossed his face. ‘What happened? The last thing I remember is fighting that giant Heartless and trying to block that attack you didn’t see.’
‘Well…’ Aqua and Ven glanced at each other. Aqua continued, ‘You were knocked unconscious and we—Sora, Riku, Kairi and I—couldn’t wake you up. We took you to Ansem’s laboratory and he said that you were infected with some kind of dark virus and that your mind put you into a coma to protect your heart. Do you feel all right now?’
Terra looked surprised but answered her readily. ‘Yeah, I think so.’
‘Great!’ Ven said. ‘I’ll call Ansem the Wise to tell him.’
Terra and Aqua were left alone as Ven ran out of the room. Aqua smiled fondly after Ven, then turned to Terra. ‘We’re about to have dinner,’ she told him. ‘You can join us—you must be hungry after being asleep for so long.’
Terra laughed. ‘I’m not sure I’ll be up to eating dinner. I feel ready to fall asleep again. I’m not sure I can even get out of bed.’
‘That’s okay,’ Aqua said. She gripped his hand and squeezed it gently. ‘You need a lot of rest to recover.’
Later, after dinner, she lay curled next to Terra on his bed, her hand in his, and she said the words that she couldn’t bear to say while he’d been unconscious.
He looked at her, surprised. ‘You really mean that?’
She looked into his tired, hopeful eyes and nodded. ‘Yes. I don’t know what I’d do without you. When the Heartless hurt you and you wouldn’t wake up, it scared me a lot.’
‘I’m sorry,’ he said quietly. ‘When I took that blow for you, all I could think of was that I didn’t want you to get hurt. I thought if anyone had to get hurt, it should be me.’
‘Why should it be you?’ she challenged him. ‘We’re partners, Terra, remember? We look out for each other. You can’t protect me from everything. There’ll always be a point where I’ll get hurt.’
Terra looked away. ‘I’m sorry,’ he repeated. ‘It was just—instinct.’
Aqua sighed. She really couldn’t blame him for doing what his heart told him to do. It was just that she’d been so scared for him. She didn’t want to feel like that ever again.
‘I know, Terra,’ she whispered. ‘I understand. I just was so scared. Don’t do that to me again. After everything we’ve all been through, I can’t handle another scare like that. I don’t want to lose you.’
‘You won’t lose me,’ he said to her gently. ‘I promise. I’ll be more careful from now on.’
She saw the honesty in his eyes and smiled. ‘Good,’ she said, and kissed his cheek. ‘Now go to sleep. You need it.’
She hopped off the bed and started toward the doorway. When she was almost at the door, Terra called out to her.
‘Aqua?’
‘Yeah?’
‘I love you too,’ he said drowsily.
Then he closed his eyes and slid into sleep. Aqua smiled fondly at him, then exited the bedroom.

it’s always funny when I realize I accidentally made a kingdom hearts reference in literally anything because it’s so deeply ingrained into me at this point that I won’t catch it
the other day I said “there’s more to seek, so go forth now and seek it” to my friend and they told me that was really fucking poetic and I was so happy about it and then I realized those are ansem SODs last words. That’s a freaking great scene btw
youtube
Riku and Ansem’s relationship is just fascinating. Ansem having possessed Riku, given him the power of darkness and sending him on the entire character arc he goes through up until Dream Drop Distance, where despite his past with the darkness he becomes a keyblade master, these two have so much history. Also hearing that Ansem sorta just gave up and didn’t care about the fight that his old man self was forcing to start is so interesting. I feel like I always over look ansem when it comes to the villains in kh. In kh1 he really is just the average darkness darkness hahaha darkness type of villain. His motivation was to summon kingdom hearts (because kingdom hearts is an actual entity in kingdom hearts…) and have that power for himself, because he believed kingdom hearts, the heart of all worlds, was darkness.
in a way, kingdom hearts is a lot about whether a person is naturally good or naturally evil. Ansem believes the world is darkness, the evil is what the heart really is. That no matter how much light people have in their hearts, in the end they’ll always go back to the darkness. Sora proves him wrong when he reveals kingdom hearts is light. Riku also proves to him that darkness doesn’t just mean you’re evil. He walks the road to dawn, the path of using the darkness for good. He’s figured out how to control the darkness inside of him, to not have it control him for the evil it could do.
Ughhhhh I haven’t thought about Ansem in months, he’s such a great character. His relationship with Riku??? Horrible and toxic and he should stay away from him. But their last scene together, with Ansem just letting himself admit he doesn’t care to the plan and is just following orders is interesting. He didn’t want to be brought back to life, he could’ve stayed gone and he would’ve been fine with it. Seeing him be so uninterested in a plan he technically started (well it was xehanort, and ansem is Xehanorts heartless. That’s a whole thing though) is fascinating. I’m glad he’s gone, I hope we don’t see him again. He’s got one of the best final words I’ve ever heard

Psycho Analysis: Master Xehanort & His Many Incarnations
(WARNING! This analysis contains SPOILERS!)
Kingdom Hearts is probably one of my favorite series ever made. It is a unique blend of Square’s JRPG goodness and the magical whimsy of Disney in one of the most baffling and unlikely crossovers of all time, and manages to deliver a wild (and occasionally convoluted) story about light, darkness, and the power of friendship that keeps you engaged even when things stop making any fucking sense—a frequent occurrence, especially in the later games.
Ah, but what is a Square JRPG without some hammy villain out to destroy the world? Enter Master Xehanort, the evil old man. A scheming Keyblade master who desires to rewrite reality to balance darkness and light, he is the ultimate enemy Sora, Donald, Goofy, and the rest of the Mouseketeers must gather up their strength to fight. Truly he is a Square villain through and through.
BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE!
You didn’t think this was going to be so simple, did you? Master Xehanort could give Lord Voldemort a run for his money in the soul-splitting department, because grandpa here is able to make an entire Organization XIII with nothing but himself by Kingdom Hearts III. While some of his Xehanorted followers like Marluxia, Luxord, Larxene, and Xigbar are not going to be discussed here (we’ll be saving them for the inevitable Organization XIII Psycho Analysis somewhere down the line), we will be going over the original game’s villain Ansem, Seeker of Darkness; Xemnas, the leader of Organization XIII from Kingdom Hearts II; Young Xehanort, the time traveling bastard version of Master Xehanort; and Terra-Xehanort, the ‘nort who is responsible for the creation of those first two guys.
Also, full disclosure here: I never finished Birth By Sleep and I didn’t play the twelve quadrillion spinoffs between II and III so my knowledge on some of these guys is down to simply reading plot summaries, watching cutscenes, and so on. Still, I can’t let the voters down, so lets dive to the heart of the matter and talk about the convoluted villain from the most convoluted JRPG franchise around.
Motivation/Goals: Somehow Xehanort’s plans are both incredibly simple and also extremely confusing at the same time.
Thanks to Kingdom Hearts being a relatively simple black-and-white conflict where “light = good, dark = bad,” Master Xehanort’s schemes are a lot less confusing than they initially appear. It goes like this: Master Xehanort saw there was too much light everywhere and decided that the universe needed an equal amount of dark and light. To this end he sought out Kingdom Hearts to utilize its limitless power to reshape reality, but as his plan went further along he became corrupted and consumed by darkness, leading to his council of clone nonsense and all the Heartless, Nobodies, and schemes throughout the series as he now sought to end the world and reshape it for seemingly his own amusement.
Real simple, right? WRONG. At the end of the third game he’s confusingly revealed to be a well-intentioned extremist all along, and he just wanted to bring balance after all! Never mind all the fucked up evil shit he did, never mind how obviously sinister the dude is, never mind how his younger self is the most soulless bastard around, just ignore all that because Grandpa was really just trying to help in his own messed up way. And, yeah, this was how he started before every game after showed him going to even more fucked up extremes to achieve his goal, so... yeah. It doesn’t help that the last game tells us he thought the darkness in everyone’s heart was the issue, as opposed to the previously-established “tyranny of light.”
Performance: As if this man wasn’t convoluted enough, his voice actor situation is nothing short of pure insanity.
Ansem, Seeker of Darkness was initially voiced by Billy Zane in Kingdom Hearts. Out of all the ridiculous stunt casting going on in that game, Zane was probably the best actor aside from Hayley Joel Osment and Hayden Panettiere (and certainly a better and more fitting choice than Lance Bass as Sephiroth). Unfortunately, he was one of the big names who was tossed aside when the sequel came out in 2005, which stings really bad considering his career was obliterated a year later for starring in the film Valley of the Wolves: Iraq, a Turkish film that showed the ugly side of the American occupation of Iraq (and also featured Gary Busey as an antisemitic caricature) during the height of the patriotic fervor surrounding the War on Terror. His career has yet to recover to this day, and it’s sad he didn’t have an iconic video game villain role to fall back on.
Of course, it’s not all bad; his replacement, Richard Epcar (Old Man Joseph in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, the title character of Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo, and Myotismon and Etemon from the first season of Digimon) certainly tore into the role with gusto, hamming it up as Ansem and delivering the sort of magnificent villain performance you would expect from a man who played an evil Elvis monkey. He’s so good in his role they even gave him Terra-Xehanort to play as well! Twice the Richard Epcar for the price of one! Young Xehanort is decidedly less messy, but still changed from David Gallagher in Birth By Sleep to Ben Diskin going forward. Diskin, of course, is most well known for playing Numbuh One in Codename: Kids Next Door and Young Joseph Joestar in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. Kinda funny how both Josephs are playing essentially the same guy at different points in his life.
Master Xehanort’s VA situation is, without a doubt, the biggest tangled mess of them all. When he first appeared in Birth By Sleep, he was portrayed by none other than Leonard Nimoy, a man who needs no introduction and who spent his time going up against the dude voiced by Mark Hamill. Finally we get to see the ultimate battle, Spock vs. Luke Skywalker!
Alas, Leonard Nimoy sadly passed away in 2015, leaving Master Xehanort in an awkward spot. Thankfully, they had an excellent backup in mind for when Kingdom Hearts III finally rolled out: Rutger Hauer, a man who needs no introduction (Ok, maybe he needs one a bit more than Nimoy; he was Roy Batty in Blade Runner and the eponymous character in Hobo with a Shotgun). Unfortunately, his performance wasn’t quite as good as Nimoy’s, though not bad. The fact he was able to carry the burden of voicing a character previously portrayed by a universally beloved actor to a solid finish is an impressive feat only matched by Greg Baldwin wrapping up Iroh and Aku in Mako’s honor. Truly a decent note to go out on!
...Except there was DLC, which featured an appearance from Xehanort. And wouldn’t you know it, Rutger Hauer sadly passed away in 2019, leaving Xehanort voiceless once more. Who could possibly fill the shoes of two incredible sci-fi actors who starred in some of the greatest film and television roles of all time? I’ll tell you who: The guy who voiced Mr. Clipboard in Foodfight, baby!!!
Motherfucking Christopher Lloyd of all goddamn people is now Master Xehanort, and honestly? It’s just perfect. Xehanort looks like he would have that sinister snarl Lloyd gives villains like Rasputin and the aforementioned CGI abomination. This is truly a match made in heaven! Let’s just hope he doesn’t sadly pass away right before he needs to record more lines too.
The only one of these dudes with a consistent VA was Xemnas, who had Paul St. Peter from beginning to end. He previously appeared in a Psycho Analysis when I talked about the Pillar Men, as he voiced the best one (Wammu); it seems playing the best Xehanort squad member was practice for playing the best massive Aztec vampire. You might also know him from Digimon, where he’s played characters such as Wormmon and Leomon. The man has incredible range and never turns in a dull role.
Final Fate: This is one of the most contentious aspects of the guy. All of the incarnations get a pretty interesting sendoff in the third game as most of them come to some sort of epiphany in regards to their lot in life, with Ansem and Xemnas both getting rather tragic farewells where the heroes feel a bit of sympathy for them and Young Xehanort going out gloating to Sora and being an absolute bastard. But Master Xehanort, the big bad who has tortured and enslaved and destroyed and caused untold chaos and devastation in his quest to create a world that fits his idea of balance? He… peacefully goes into the afterlife with his best friend. Needless to say, gamers were pissed this dude had a peaceful ending despite all of the shit he did, especially when he didn’t really meaningfully redeem himself to earn it.
Best Scene: These are the bad guys in an action RPG series, what do you think their best scene is? Their boss fights, duh! Ansem, Seeker of Darkness has his massive marathon boss fight at the end of the first game, where he summons a Darkside and turns into a giant Heartless ship, and if you’d like to count his time possessing Riku there’s that ball-bustingly difficult battle in Hollow Bastion too; Xemnas has his super hard bonus boss fight in the Final Mix of the first game and then his action-packed final battle in the second one, which features you fighting him while jumping down a skyscraper, slashing buildings in half, and a whole lot of lasers; Young Xehanort has his bonus battle in Birth By Sleep and main story fight in Dream Drop Distance; and then all of them get great final duels in the third game, which culminates in the awesome final battle against Master Xehanort himself. The man is incapable of dropping the ball when it comes to boss battles, no matter which incarnation you’re facing. Plus, you get to live out this memetic SpongeBob quote every single game you beat him up in:
Outside of the fights, I think Young Xehanort takes the cake out of the incarnations with the scene where he is verbally flayed alive by Woody of all fucking characters.
youtube
Final Thoughts & Score: Let’s go one by one, shall we?
Ansem, Seeker of Darkness
The first Xehanort we encounter, and honestly it’s hard not to feel a little nostalgic about him. This was our first Kingdom Hearts villain! He’s the one who got us all stuck for hours in Hollow Bastion as kids because Ansem-Riku was an ungodly pain in the ass! And Billy Zane’s fantastic performance led to an unending avalanche of memes, with basically every single line of dialogue Ansem said becoming a meme; Hell, the reason I didn’t bother with a “Best Quote” segment up there is because I would have just been rambling off quote after quote from this guy. And Richard Epcar was obviously no slouch when he took up the role, keeping this original baddie as cool as ever up until his genuinely sad demise in the third game. He’s essentially your average generic JRPG villain elevated by a great vocal performance, cool design, and interesting twists, and for that I think he deserves a nice, fat 8.5/10. The only downside to him I can really think of is that he is overshadowed by Maleficent (who is a way cooler villain), but being overshadowed by Maleficent is a fate all Disney villains must accept.
Xemnas
Kingdom Hearts II is the best game in the series, and Xemnas is the best Xehanort incarnation of them all. It’s not even particularly close, really. Chronologically your first encounter is that sick bonus boss fight in the first game, and from there he goes into the second game as the big bad and gets the most fucking awesome boss fights imaginable, putting the final battles from the first game to shame. Dude can make lightsabers pop out of his hands, how is he not the best Xehanort? Organization XIII were really cool, and Nobody did it better than Xemnas… which is what I would say if so many of the others didn’t have a lot more personality than him. Yes, he’s a great final boss and he’s super badass and he fits into the big Xehanort scheme, but if I’m being honest he never really felt as compelling as a lot of the other Nobodies. Luxord, Xigbar, Axel, they all felt a little more fleshed out and interesting, y’know? Again, though: Lightsaber hands. You can be as vague a villain as you’d like if you have lightsaber hands. Sometimes a simple and fun villain can be great, and a 9.5/10 is a good score for Mr. Mansex here.
Young Xehanort
There is an inherent tragedy to the other Xehanorts. They lack a heart, they lack emotion, and in their final moments they become aware of their own limitations and reflect on their nature, gaining understanding before dissolving away. But not so with Young Xehanort! Homeboy straight up doesn’t give two shits when he’s beaten, because he knows when he dies he’s just gonna go back to his own time and grow up to be the big bad of the series! If you didn’t get the picture in his final moments, let me spell it out for you: Young Xehanort is an unrepentant cunt, and I love him for it. His unique time powers, the voice performance by Ben Diskin, and the infamous verbal beatdown Woody gives him all help make him one of the more memorable incarnations of Xehanort, and I think that warrants an 8/10 at least.
Terra-Xehanort
This guy is the greater-scope villain for the first few games as he is the source of both Xemnas and Ansem, one of the most hideously powerful incarnations of Xehanort due to being a combo of, well, Terra and Xehanort, and nearly singlehandedly kills all the heroes; Donald has to pull out the God-tier magic of Zettaflare to beat him back. The thing is, as I never played Birth By Sleep all the way through, I don’t really fully grasp the sheer scope of his existence beyond knowing he’s a nasty piece of work. I don’t know if I can fairly rate him without all that context; I think, tentatively he deserves an 8/10 if only for the impact he had on the rest of the series.
Master Xehanort
Finally, we get to the big boss. As I’ve said, I never finished Birth By Sleep, but I did play through the third game and Dream Drop Distance, so that counts for something, right? I don’t hate Master Xehanort or anything—it would be hard to since he’s voiced by three of my favorite actors—and he has excellent boss fights, but I can’t just rank a villain entirely on how fun it is to beat the shit out of them. I think his motivations are stupid and messy and he ends up feeling really nonsensical at the end, with his redemption being so rushed it almost feels like what internet weirdos think Steven Universe is. Without him, none of the assholes above would even exist, and yet he gets to go peacefully into the great beyond while Sora yet again gets cockblocked and tossed into a different dimension. Going into this review, I was certain I’d rate him lower because of how bad his ending was, but… nah. He’s too much fun to beat up and just an enjoyable evil overlord character with one of the most convoluted apocalyptic schemes I’ve ever seen, so while he may be hard for me to love, he’s even harder for me to hate. 7.5/10.
Overall, I’m not sure if I’d necessarily call Xehanort one of the all-time greatest JRPG villains—he doesn’t quite measure up to Square’s iconic enemies like Sephiroth or Kefka—but it is pretty inarguable that he is a great, memorable, and iconic antagonist. Maybe it’s just my nostalgia talking, but kicking the shit out of this dude again and again and again across fifty different bodies he’s jacked for his wacky schemes has been fun from day one. I kind of wish the focus on him didn’t eventually overtake and overshadow the Disney villains like Maleficent and Pete, but for what he is, he’s a fun foe. He doesn’t really keep things simple and clean, but the way he’s making me feel tonight makes it hard to let him go.

Hamefura theory : What would everyone become if Catarina were to disappear ?
Hello ! I'm still working on the translation you asked but while I'm at it I also wrote a theory about that question that I saw on a whim. Honestly I was thinking about it for a long time so it's just perfect ^^
To be honest, I think that if Catarina were to disappear, I can't think about anything other than someone kidnapped her. The reason ? Her dark magic powers ? Her "ability" to see the future in her dreams (if someone happened to discovered it) or maybe just a noble fom a foreign country who took an interest in her ? We have many options. I personnaly think that if that happened, if anyone knew the reason nor where she is I think they would have these reactions :
At first they would look for her as much as they could, so much that they would stop eating and sleeping and even going as far as using dirty ways like bribing for some of them . I don't think they would ever stop, but if we have a very smart mastermind I don't think they could find anything. If that happened and that a long time has passed I think everyone's personnalites would change completely.
I think that everyone who love her would be prey to dark magic since Catarina was like the "sun" for them. Geordo would become a heartless, icy and merciless prince with eyes always empty. Keith would become calm, emotionless and lonely and like Geordo his eyes would always be empty . Alan would become a cold, irritating and selfish prince. Nicol would become a curt, insensitive and cold young man with empty eyes. Mary would be like Geordo, I think , and on the outside she would look like an emotionless doll with an artificial smile and (in the worst case) lose her strong will. Sophia would become the young girl she once was, calm, quaky and timid and with always a sad and broken look in her eyes, after all she would have lost her best friend two times and couldn't do anything about it . Maria would no longer be the cheerful girl we know but an emotionless, insensitive person with no hope in the eyes at all. I think she would also stop using her light magic because she would feel too powerless and useless for being aware of the danger but not being able to help her favorite person in the world despite all she did for her. I also think she would stop cooking because it would bring her too much painful feelings and memories. Sora would start drinking to hide his sorrow (I really hope I'm mistaken for this one) and like the others would become an emotionless, insensitive person with cold eyes, since he would have the feeling that he has lose his most important person a second time. Raphael would become a curt, emotionless and gloomy person since he has lost "the light that shines on him" and would start having his dreadful nightmares again. I think Anne would stop working for the Claes family because of the painful memories and all the servants and her parents would become insensitive and emotionless (especially her father who loves her a lot). Frey and Ginger (and of course all Catarina's fan club) would lose the person they admired the most but I don't known what would be their reactions. I don't really know for Cezar and Aaqil , Maybe Aaqil would no longer be the gentle and caring boy he is now, I think he would have a personnality similar to Raphael, gloomy, curt and emotionless and Cezar would have a personnality similar to Sora.
Ah, I think I'm done ! I know it's really sad but I really thing that it would happen as sad as it is. I'm just not really sure for Sora and Cezar's case. You can listen to his song while reading my theory, it's really touching ^^ Oh, and for those who love tearmoon empire like me, I really recommend it to you, the stories are similar.

The Big Bads of Kingdom Hearts (Divergence)
Xehanort - Big Bad of KH0.I (as Master Xehanort/Terra-Xehanort), KH1 (as Ansem & Xemnas), and KH2 (as Xemnas), major villain in CoM (as Ansem), XIII Days (as Xemnas), KH3D, KH3, and KH5. Easily the most iconic and ever-present KH original villain in the series, Xehanort was the greatest enemy to Sora and his friends. We see him in many forms: as a human, a superhuman, a Heartless, a Nobody, a memory specter, a data copy, and a Hollow Replica carrying his heart's entire essence that ultimately fuses together with a demonic god of darkness. Even after he's dead, his machinations create new trouble in the form of his Replica bastard son turned Ephemer clone who draws power from Nothingness. Had Xehanort's canonical trajectory matched this, all of him might have placed among the best video game villains instead of among the worst.
Maleficent - Major villain in KH0.1, KH1, CoM, KH2, Encoded Worlds, KH3D, KH3, KH4, and Pandemoniac Heartless Parade.
While Maleficent can never secure the position of THE Big Bad in any story, she's the Mistress of All Evil for a reason, and such a thing would feel too constraining for her. She stands as the arch foe of the Destiny Trio and all Disney good guys who've allied with them, and is always seeking ways to claim higher power, having involved herself with all major forces of evil to besiege the worlds. Even after getting ousted in KH0.I, after her own death in KH1, and after seeming to lose all power in KH4, she proves you can never count her out.
Marluxia - Big Bad of CoM, Major villain in KH2, XIII Days, and KH3.
One of the less remarkable Big Bads in the series as he only exists to service larger plots of Organization XIII and the Dark Seekers, yet in some ways this makes Marluxia all the more impressive for what he is. Much like CoM itself, he didn't need to go as hard with his plots and the style in his villainy, but he sure does and we love him for it.
Saix - Big Bad of XIII Days, Major villain in CoM, KH2, and KH3.
Saix is in the same boat as Marluxia and unfortunately has less luck when it comes to being a Big Bad, as no matter how much he may try otherwise, he's always in the shadow of Xemnas. That said, he still makes for a creepy and compelling antagonist you love to hate.
Pete - Major villain in KH2, XIII Days, Encoded Worlds, KH3D, KH3, KH4, Pandemoniac Heartless Parade, The Missing Links, and KH5.
The closest Pete comes to Big Bad status is playing the de-facto main antagonist in Encoded Worlds, but even that's at the behest of Maleficent and he's easily outdone by a computer virus. His major villain status comes from being a minion who also happens to be the Disney Castle crew's sworn enemy. Following Maleficent's power loss, he even gains a partner in the treacherous Duke Mortimer.
Chernabog & The MCP - Major villains in KH1 and KH2 respectively. Chernabog is, like Darxomnious, a demonic deity of darkness who, once situated at the core of End of the World, became a benefactor to Xehanort and the Heartless, but he is only encountered in a single boss fight (though he resurfaces as a nightmare boss in 3D and yet again in KH5). The MCP is more prominent, being the Arc VIllain for the Space Paranoids world that's directly tied with Hollow Bastion, essentially the digital counterpart to Terra-Xehanort who's even implied to service Xemnas himself, though he hates all other users.
Darxomnious & Master Luxu - Big Bad of KH3, Major villain(s) in X, KH3D, and The Missing Links. Darxomnious is the aggregation of the darkest of all hearts, the progenitor of all Darklings, and the overarching Big Bad of the second saga just as Terra-Xehanort was of the first. Master Luxu is the old master whose heart and mind has been tied directly to the dark god and who acts as his vessel in leading the XIII and directing the Dark Seekers movement. While both perish by the end of KH3, we see a fairy tale take on Darxomnious in X and fight a spectral memory of both him and Luxu in one route of The Missing Links.
Hades - Big Bad in Pandemoniac Heartless Parade, Major villain in KH0.1, KH1, CoM, KH2, XIII Days, Encoded Worlds, KH3D, KH3, and The Missing Links.
He's...well, he's Hades. What more need be said?
Judge Frollo - Major villain in KH3D, KH4, and The Missing Links. Frollo debuts in KH3D as the main villain of one of the penultimate worlds (voiced here by Earl Boen rather than Corey Burton) and gets defeated in the world's collective shared dream, which led to him being stripped of all authority upon the world's waking. Finding a way to flee his world, Frollo resurfaces as one of the most primary villains in KH4 (now voiced by Timothy E. Brummund) who conspires with the Lost Masters to exploit the Demi-Deterged and purge the worlds of all he considers sinful, even when it only grows and enhances his own heart's darkness. He's killed off for real, but makes one final appearance as an illusion to be vanquished in The Missing Links.
Master Narix - Big Bad in KH4, The Missing Links, and KH5. Narix is the third saga's overarching Big Bad and essentiallly the final boss of KH Divergence, as my imagination just can't extend past KH5. Narix, by nature, is a Contrasting Sequel Antagonist to Xehanort, basically Master Eraqus' moral absolutism and ideals of light supremacy taken to the furthest extremes, as he seeks to dismantle and reassemble Kingdom Hearts so as to eliminate all darkness across not just the World but the multiverse ('cause you know we had to go there at some point), all costs be damned. In doing so he ironically creates an evil force called "blight", light that's been perverted to the point where it works in tandem with darkness. Narix is only seen once in KH4, then becomes a more prominent enemy in both The Missing Links and KH5 along with the order he and his subservient Lost Masters leads, the Luminous Vanguard. Following Neodarkness and Evanessé, he's KH5's very final boss.
Vanitas/Neodarkness - Major villain in KH0.1, KH3D, KH3, KH4, The Missing Links, and KH5.
Vanitas is a major villain in KH0.1 and in KH3, with a phantom image of him being utilized by Xehanort in KH3D to spread nightmares. However, he doesn't come into his own until he embraces the fact that he is a perfect manifestation of darkness itself, which allows him to evolve into Neodarkness, the dark entity who takes Darxomnious' place as ruler of all dark hearts and evil beings. What's neat about Neodarkness is that, unlike Darxomnious, he's not strictly evil all the time, he's more a Chaotic Neutral who acts for his own amusement. Along with Narix and Evanessé, he's one of KH5's final bosses.
Evanesse' - Major villain in The Missing Links and KH5.
This would be "Xehanort's Replica bastard son turned Ephemer clone who draws power from Nothingness" I mentioned before. When Xehanort was in his new Replica body and planned on becoming a god by merging with Darxomnious, he secretly used the knowledge of Xion's creation from one cursed timeline as a blueprint to create his own Hollow Replica he planned on reincarnating his human heart into, but as Darxomnort was destroyed, this never happened. It ends up being Ephemer's heart that gives life to this Replica, creating the tortured and nihilistic Evanessé who seeks to find his own aim and place in the world before ultimately deciding he wants everything around him to disappear into Nothing, hence his thematic name. Along with Neodarkness and Narix, he's one of KH5's final bosses.
King Magnifico - Major villain in KH5.
Magnifico is sort of like the MCP of KH5, being the Arc Villain of a running subplot. We're told he's in competition with Yen Sid because he wants to seize ownership of the Mysterious Tower and relocate it to be Rosas-adjacent, and the Wishing Star he's on the lookout for is one of Ephemer's allies throughout the game, but we only meet him in person upon actually visiting Rosas, where he's faced down and defeated. His inclusion in the game not only makes sense given the timing, but due to the fanbase he's garnered over in Japan. He's also a parallel to Narix, a man in white whose good intentions have given way to selfishness and power-lust that he can't even recognize.

Since today is χ-day for a Kingdom Hearts fandom, question, imagine Psychonauts world as one of worlds Sora can get to, what adventure he would have in psychonauts world?
You've activated my trap card of "crossover where I actually know both things well"
I like to think Sora and Raz would immediately hit it off as buddies like theyre both really got getter sweethearts but still a bit of that tweenager spunk. Raz says hell and Goofy goes >:0!! while covering Sora's ears even tho Sora's like "I have literally heard Donald say worse before please stop"
I think first of all if this is Sora visiting the world of Psychonauts, then Sora Donald and Goofy gotta be in the PN style. Sora looks about the same, Donald and Goofy look like the most scrungletacular animals you've ever seen. I think they've got like a Linda or Mr Pokeylope Situation going on bc I don't think talking animal folks is out of the question in this universe but they look WACK is what I'm getting at
I think the issue that Sora has to solve is that heartless are running around in the Motherlobe/QA? and while the Psychonauts have their best people on it none of them are really like. equipped to handle this kind of threat manifesting in the real world as opposed to the psychic one. Maybe the major heartless threat/eventual boss fight would be like a big Brain that's affecting people's psyches.
I think it would also be fun for Sora to go inside someone's head, maybe even his own using the brain tumbler? with Raz as his obvious World Exclusive Party Member.

you want xehanort lore? here is my best attempt based on what i know. i havent beaten the game where time travel got involved so this is uh. before things got too bad
so xehanort was a keyblade master who was training this kid ventus. then one day he felt a bit silly and wanted to restart a war for science so he stabbed a child to split his heart into two halves (ventus, pure light, and vanitas, pure dark) and then gave ventus (actively dying because of having his heart you know. ripped in half) to his old pal eraqus to deal with and kept vanitas. his GOAL was that vanitas and ventus would eventually fight and somehow form this old weapon called the x-blade (not to be confused with the keyblade despite being pronounced the same) because something something it forms when equal light and dark powers clash i think? idk. anyways i literally have no clue what happened at the end of bbs because i wasnt paying attention but iirc that plan only semi worked and ventus ended up in a fucking coma for 10 years. in the meantime i think xehanort was uh. i feel like his goal was immortality but i could be mixing him up with william afton. anyways he norted a boy. that boy was terra. basically he just possessed him. so theres terranort now. then aqua i think beat him up then dropped him off in radiant garden before going to the void
terranort then took a quick detour to get a phd in unethical science with notoriously totally definitely not the worst character ever ansem the wise. he learned about how to release peoples hearts and then uh. idr how this happened exactly BUT HE DID IT TO HIMSELF AND MAYBE CONVINCED ANSEM TW's OTHER APPRENTICES TO DO IT TOO????? anyways so oops! he now has split himself in half. not the same way he split ventus in half though he split himself in half in like a normal way, aka into a heartless and a nobody
tldr explanation for heartless and nobodies, heartless are peoples hearts that have succumbed to darkness and nobodies are the body they leave behind. if you have a strong will, your nobody is basically just a kinda funky copy of yourself without a heart. also if you choose to succumb to darkness instead of being overtaken by it, then you remain sentient as a heartless <-(this is also why sora was a very polite heartless, since he released his own heart). xehanort filled both of those conditions, so his heartless was ansem seeker of darkness and his nobody was xemnas. neither of them are ansem in any way shape or form and i genuinely cannot remember if there was a reason for him naming himself after ansem besides spite.
anyways. xemnas goes on to form a cult of nobodies with the other 5 apprentices that lost their hearts and a handful of other people he found. meanwhile, ansem sod is hanging out on the island sora and riku live on and is being weird to children. riku is feeling a bit silly and also jealous that his crush doesnt need him and so he accidentally destroys his home and starts hanging out with the demons. ansem sod decides that it would be really funny to possess this kid and so he tells riku that the darkness holds the secrets to free robux if he just succumbs to it. unfortunately no free robux awaits riku and ansem sod norts his second boy. its fine though, sora got exorcised him and then killed him with the power of friendship.
meanwhile, xemnas' cult is thriving. until it isnt. sora killed like half their members then tripped and fell so hard that he got amnesia and now hes in a coma while namine tries to fix him. theyve recruited soras nobody, this weird quiet kid named roxas, to go kill a bunch of heartless with the goal of completing kingdom hearts. what is kingdom hearts? great question im not sure. its like this big heart moon / the heart of all worlds? idk its where hearts go when theyre not heartless. xemnas tells his cult that completing kingdom hearts will give them all back their hearts and so they all are going along with it because they want their hearts back. except roxas who doesnt really care about this whole humanity thing but hes being bribed to stay with ice cream. but soon not even ice cream is enough to get him to stay. roxas decides to go out and find himself (literally!) and then immediately gets kidnapped by riku who is sad that his boyfriend is in a coma and snatched roxas to bring back to ansemtw so they could wake sora up. roxas then dies tragically. goodbye roxas!
sora then goes on to kill pretty much the rest of their members (except for axel who kills himself) and then tells xemnas to go die and then he and riku kill him with the power of... friendship........ totally just friendship
and then i stopped paying attention! hope this helps :>>
holy fucking shit, you really went above and beyond for this and I really must thank you more than just typing "thank you" here. THIS IS SO CRAZY!!! I'm fucking cackling over the robux bit too, that was brilliantly placed. I know NOTHING of kingdom hearts, but now I know...this guy! kinda! Again thank you, holy shit, I hope you have a wonderful rest of the day!

You mentioned KH asks?
What’s your hot take on something KH related?
My hottest kingdom hearts take is probably that kh3 is better than kh2 in nearly every way. Both of them are incredible games and in my top 3 (with the original too), but to me I think kh3 is much better.
To me the only things that kh2 even has a chance at beating kh3 at are the combat (which is fucking excellent) and the story (but it has some caveats I’ll get to)
First, the combat: it’s flawless, I won’t even lie. My only complaints are that in critical the early game is wayyyy more difficult than the rest of the game. Yes I know that I’m complaining about the hardest difficulty being too difficult, but what I mean is that before you get enough options and get going Sora’s kind of a sitting duck to every enemy except literal shadows. Every single thing one shots or two shots him, and enemies are difficult because you don’t have to proper abilities to crowd control or do single target damage yet. But once you get going then the combat is excellent. The other problem is that it doesn’t explain summons, and to a lesser extent limits, very well. I think almost every casual player has this same problem, being they hardly use limits and summons and mainly only use drive forms, which are much more intuitive. Once you know how to use them they’re insane, but still.
Kh3, however, ALSO has excellent combat. It basically does all that kh2 does well, with drive forms being replaced by formchanges (which while maybe not as fun are definitely more balanced, they’re still really fun though), summons being replaced by links (which I personally prefer, apart from like Ralph they seem more intuitive), and the long combos are back. The only problem I have is that kh3 doesn’t have as many reaction commands. They’re still there, but they’re fewer and far between compared to kh2 where most enemies and practically every single boss had a reaction command, with most of them being unique.
So if kh3 does better the one thing that kh2 unquestionably does perfectly (which is my opinion, apparently Sora feels too “floaty” in kh3 and honestly I don’t even know what that means he feels great to control to me, my favourite combos in kh2 were the ones were sora takes an enemy to the skies, I enjoyed grinding mushroom no.8), how does the other boon of kh2, the story, fare?
Well let me just say that the beginning, middle, and end are ALL incredible. The Roxas prologue might be the best opening to any game ever, the battle of a thousand heartless will never stop being awesome, and the ending is just *chef’s kiss*. But a story has more to it, you can’t have a banger opening then go missing for ten to twenty hours then come back then go missing again for another ten hours. You have to be there throughout. I’m obviously referring to the Disney worlds. They’re honestly chain of memories in terms of story, they’re just lucky that they have incredible combat to back it up. Kh2 started the trend of “just do the movie with sora Donald and goofy in the background” and it’s particularly heinous. Either the original or revisit is just the movie’s plot, and the one I enjoyed more is ALWAYS the one which tells a new story. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, but 99% of the time a unique scenario is better.
To use kh3 as an example, we have two worlds whose stories are just “movie but with sdg”, and that’s arendelle and kingdom of corona. In arendelle yeah it’s awful but in kingdom of corona the tangled story is actually really fun I think it’s the 1% that get it right imo. And the toy box and monstropolis scenarios are so cool that it’s actually possible to say that they are canon TO THE MOVIES because they work so well. Also, ALL worlds tie into the game’s plot and they ALL tell you how they relate to the themes of the game. And if you think that Arendelle is just frozen but with sdg if you agree with game theory (which I do) there’s evidence that the story was going to be an original one, about Elsa being tempted by the organisation into being a villain, but sdg convince her not to and that her powers don’t make her evil. But Frozen 2 was coming out soon and disney probably just made them do the first movie almost as a promotion. Anyway, kh3 also puts a little bit of story inbetween each Disney world, so even if you didn’t enjoy the Disney world’s story, you get some story as a reward every time you finish one! A lot of people have problems with the story but personally I don’t see it, I think a lot of that either stems from not being familiar with every game so they have no idea what’s happening, or just not being keen on the cheesy dialogue (newsflash it’s always been this cheesy). Personally I love Kh3’s story and feel it’s a great wrap up on the dark seeker saga, and a great Segway into the lost masters arc.
Now, the biggest thing that kh2 does poorly is world design. It’s been said a million times but kh2 is essentially a bunch of flat corridors between fights. Which is all well and good since the game’s combat is so damn good, but compared to kh1 and kh3 it’s honestly quite sad. Kh1 does it the best, it almost feels like a 3D metroidvania, and you can interact with everything, and kh3 is similarly packed with interactions, but on a massive scale. Kh2 is small scale and you can hardly do anything. Chests are just placed around with little thought to hide them in interesting or hard to reach places, and the only reason to EVER use your movement options outside of combat and getting places faster is to collect puzzle pieces, which umm suck sorry not sorry.
Anyway now time for small things - the gummi ship in kh3 is the only time I don’t want to die while playing the gummi ship, the magic feels SO GOOD in kh3 whereas unless you’re in a drive form it just feels clunky and stiff in kh2, the chemistry between Sora Donald and Goofy feels so much better in kh3 than in kh2, switching between three keyblades is the best thing ever honestly it’s so cool and works really well with formchanges, the three arrows building up to give you formchanges or magical finishers or whatever is way better than the drive gauge, shotlocks are really cool and really fun to use (my only problem is that focus is really hard to build up), flowmotion is so fun to traverse with and can be used to extend combos, the game is just more charming, aaand that’s all I can think of off the top of my head.
Honestly I literally just finished kh2 and haven’t played kh3 in a year or two, but still. I really really like kh2 but I just think that kh3 does everything it does badly well and everything it does well at least good or sometimes even better. My personal ranking of the games is 312, but idk it’s so close between all of them. I probably had more fun with kh2, but 1 and 3 was more fun at all times, y’know?

Disney Dream Linkage (Project Link Up)
So with the development of Project Link Up, I pretty much knew a Disney installment for my magnum opus would be inevitable.
So without a doubt, I introduce you to Disney Dream Linkage!
And yes, it’ll have inclusions of Kingdom Hearts. Star Wars and Marvel; on the other hand, get their own installments- Star Wars Galactic Linkage and Marvel Power Linkage, both of which will be coming in the future. Kingdom Hearts will also be getting Kingdom Hearts: Linkage of Fate. Anyways, lets meet our main heroes for the story:
Haley Graham (Sora): “Let me tell you, sculpting and art are my main two best things ever. Believe me, I’ve even done art for you! That’s how much I love video games!” (Superfan Service) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Nathan Ricci (Riku): “Wait. Was this supposed to be a fun vacation or what?! I did NOT expect to see these… things!!” (Seeing Heartless) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Goldie Danes (Kairi): “Haley, we should totally get some of these! After all, it’s not bad to shell out just a bit of money for yourself.” (Merch Madness) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
And so much more!
Roster:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/11q_V8xNj333cJcQqMpBU2H7XoIds1rpC8vJzKGt7i6c/edit
Monsters:
Negativians- Summoned by most Disney Villains and their linkers. Created from the darkness in people’s hearts. They look eerily like The Heartless- they might even be related to em!
Chaotians- Can only be summoned by Bill Cipher, Chernabog, and a few other characters. Created from people’s hearts when they’re fully consumed by darkness.
Heartless and Unversed- Can be summoned by Xenahort and any other Kingdom Hearts villain. They mostly have yellow eyes and are the corruptions of people’s hearts. Believe me, they’re not ones to mess with.
More will be to come!

Ride Through Deep Jungle
For @the-world-hopper
Going on adventures together in the Sky Bison, my F-ZERO machine/Gummi Ship, I thought that Lucas and I would go to one of the worlds that Sora, Donald and Goofy haven't been to for so long, Deep Jungle, aka the world of Tarzan. I landed us somewhere in the Bamboo Thicket area where Sora, Tarzan and friends had defeated Sabor the Leopard when trying to find Clayton, whose heart attracted the Heartless just so he can hunt the gorillas. However, Lucas and I landed in a different time where Tarzan and Jane were married after the battle with Clayton. It could be The Legend of Tarzan timeline since Clayton's death of being hanged by a jungle vine was different from being crushed to death by a Stealth Sneak chameleon Heartless. But I assumed things changed since Sora and company ever made any visits to this world since the first game. Lucas and I enjoyed the movie of Tarzan in the world we live in, but when I decided to introduce him to Tarzan and Jane, he couldn't resist having to climb on the backs of Jane and Tarzan. At least the gorilla family, Terk and Tantor didn't have any trouble with the Heartless when we visited. Especially since Bubbles the Bouncywild and her clan along with her best friend Snipes the Sniperwild come and leave Traverse Town to live in this jungle world.

Can I write a summary of Kingdom Hearts after 11 pm?
Answer wound up being yes and no. This ended up being a lot longer than I planned but here's the list, with the full info under the cut.
Kingdom Hearts, the nightmare that started it all.
Chain of Memories, the second worst card-based RPG I've played about 4 different times.
Kingdom Hearts II, the Third Game which will confuse you if you skipped CoM.
Kingdom Hearts 385/2 Days, or the Cult's FF7 Crisis Core spinoff.
Kingdom Hearts: Coded, the phone game that no one outside of Japan got to play until they did.
Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, the Prequel that you have to play three times to beat.
Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, or KH with Pokemon.
Kingdom Hearts X (Chi), or the MMO we wanted and regretted getting.
Kingdom Hearts III, the grand finale that said "screw you" to everyone.
Kingdom Hearts, the nightmare that started it all.
The prophesized hero turns out to be a self-absorbed shounen rival character, Riku, who dooms the world to escape his humdrum life and allows the eldritch demons into the global soul on the advice of a sketchy mysterious cloaked figure, Ansem. His idiot best friend Sora goes on an Adventure to save their best (female) friend Kairi and try to find one another. Mickey Mouse is a king, Donald Duck is a wizard, Goofy is a knight, and Pluto is slightly sketchy.
You hop between planets to get their plots back on the traintracks to their happily ever after in spite of the eldritch soul-consuming hell monsters called Heartless that can only be killed with the Mythical Weapon called a Keyblade and Magic (and apparently allies du'jour of said Keyblade).
Disney Villains are all in the know of the Heartless and use them for their own purposes. Except the Queen of Hearts. The Queen of Hearts is not enabling the Heartless to plague her world. Also Gaston. I think Gaston doesn't even exist in the series, honestly.
Finally you reach the hidden world where the Heartless plague is spreading from but Donald and Goofy go off with your now Asshole Rival Ex-Best Friend Riku who claims that he deserves the magic sword not you. So Sora and Beast (aka Prince Adam) get to fight your way through the crazy castle until you reach the place where Riku is dressed in the weirdest outfit seen on a teenager in a Square-Enix game (at that time). Turns out he's been possessed because the creepy shadow person talking to him was Bad News All Along and now seven Disney Princesses (one of which being Kairi because OF COURSE it is) are going to have their souls extracted to create a mega portal to Disney-RPG World Hell in pursuit of Disney-RPG World Heaven "Kingdom Hearts".
In order to keep Kairi safe, Sora have to destroy his own soul with the Keyblade. But she heals your Heartless so you're okay again. Why she never does this again is never explained.
You defeat the possibly Ancient Evil Ansem who turned into a giant hellship monster and then are forced to seal Mickey Mouse (what are you doing there?!) and Riku into Disney-RPG Hell to save the universe.
Chain of Memories, the second worst card-based RPG I've played about 4 different times.
After sealing your friend in Disney-RPG Hell, Sora walks along a lonely road with Donald and Goofy and I think Pluto in a randomly existing grassy field. Eventually you reach a three way fork in the road where some guy in a sketchy looking cloak is all "to lose is to find, to find is to lose, you may find your missing best friend here". Like the world's most obvious cult member.
And of course you go along with it because deep in your heart you know that they're really here.
Except this place is called Castle Oblivion and it works on Card Logic and Memories. No, really. It's kind of like Neverending Story II. Your memories are used to make special cards that either make weapons, allies, or full on locations.
The creepy coat cult do their mysterious villain thing and yell at a innocent girl with blonde hair named Namine and call her a witch. She live-edits your memories so that Namine copy-pastes herself over Kairi. It's a Relationship Sue plot but taken advantage of by the bad guys who all look like anime villains. Because her editing Sora's memories are actually being damaged and for meta-soul reasons it also effects people who've met your character.
The villains are killed off one by one and one of them, Axel, actually sets another on fire before he can spill the beans on why one of the memory locations is somewhere you've never been to. There's also Riku who seems to be having memory troubles too and is back in the dumb weird suit and you fight him because he wants to be the blonde girl's best friend and hero.
Meanwhile on the reverse side of the castle, turns out Riku is here after all and isn't the guy you're fighting with since they also fight while NotRiku insists that Darkness is Super Cool. Riku can now inexplicably smell the evil in the place and has to fight the lingering traces of Ansem - the guy who possessed him - and at one point Mickey Mouse left him for hecking dead over the dark evil magic in his soul. But its okay because Friendship.
Eventually you both reach the top floor where the master of the castle Death McFlower Reaper Marluxia wants to turn you into a puppet that'll only do what they want you to, but you are so determined that even if you don't remember what's real or not you will stop him.
And you do. Also, since I forgot to mention it, the copy of Riku died at some point and was revealed to be a imitation puppet made from memories of the guy.
Sora is sealed in a magic crystal pod to help stabilize your body as Namine reassembles your memories because she feels really bad about it.
Kingdom Hearts II, the Third Game which will confuse you if you skipped CoM.
The weird dreams from the first game are back but its some random school kid named Roxas dreaming about Sora. He looks very little like your guy, is dressed some kind of bandkid weird yet cool black-white-gray outfit with checkerboards everywhere.
He and his friends get into some really weird situations as they look into Japanese Urban Legend Mysteries of the city like haunted houses, eldritch locations, and strange reflections. Partway through strange monsters start invading your town and make a mess of things. They aren't Heartless but something else.
Roxas chases them into an abandoned mansion and finds a crack in a wall that leads to an exact copy of where you were. Turns out that your town is a simulation of a real town. That can magically be physically entered by outside forces. Don't think too much on it since its not the only digital world in this game. The other one is Tron.
It also turns out that you're the awake but missing soul, or a Nobody, of the first character who was used by the creepy cult from CoM's larger organization for... reasons. Unclear reasons but it involves your keyblade. And you don't remember it because of reasons. Also Roxas is forced to merge back into Sora, who wakes up with all his stats nerfed. The other Nobodies either look like anime pretty people or the new creepy eldritch monsters based on how much strength of will they have.
You spend the game doing KH1 plot again but this time the worlds have this big to-do regarding memory being a tangible force and the Disney villains are secondary to the evil cult. Of which Axel - guy who murdered the one about to spill-the-beans last game - is obsessed with getting his best friend Roxas out of your soul while Riku is determined to kick his ass because no that's HIS friend's soul, hands off. Also everyone thinks you're an idiot... even though you spent a whole year recovering from shattered memories.
The guy whose mansion you woke up in, DiZ (Darkness Within Zero... also DIZney, don't get me started on this), hates Namine and treats her like garbage, as well as hating Riku for falling for the dark evil magic, all because he is the actual supposedly evil science-king Ansem whose name was stolen by the endgame villain from the first game. Meanwhile Fantasia film Wizard, Yensid aka Disney Backwards, also has Problems but its more to do with relying on a kid. The only sane and kind adult in the know of the Keyblades is Disney's Merlin I swear.
Throughout the game you not only deal with the cult and the Heartless but also the surviving members of the Disney Villain group. Maleficent has become her own villain doing things across the worlds instead of sticking to one place. For some reason she has a bumbling sidekick minion in Pete the Cat.
You finally invade the husk-world that the cult uses as its base where the leader Xemnas is obsessed with the holy moon forged from millions of stolen souls freed when you and Riku murdered the Heartless the past three games. This moon is an artificial path to Kingdom Hearts built on murder. The cult believes that they can only get their souls back by reaching Kingdom Hearts. You kill their members one by one and then Real Ansem blows up the moon while trying to turn it into digital data.
Riku shows how cool he's gotten, Maleficent actually holds off enemies for you to go further in, you team up with Riku to kick Xemnas (real name Xehanort)'s ass, and then you learn that Namine is actually a missing soul fragment of Namine from when her soul was inside Sora and could only be created when freed from a soul with some measure of darkness which the Disney Princesses all lack... somehow.
Riku and Sora get temporarily stuck in Disney-RPG Heartless Hell only to get a way back to the real world thanks to Kairi. Somehow. Something something Friendship and Heart. Its all happily ever after as you all return to your homeworld. Only to get a mysterious letter from Mickey Mouse once again.
Kingdom Hearts 385/2 Days, or the Cult's FF7 Crisis Core spinoff.
So remember the cult from CoM and 2? This time you get to see your missing soul fragment's life during his one year of existence. The title is weird and hints at how much time you're playing around in in the game. Unfortunately there's a lot of timeskips in the plot.
Basically Roxas is running around from world to world murdering Heartless for company bucks which you then use to get better stuff to kill them harder with. Sometimes you get even harder special enemies. Mostly you're supposed to avoid the locals because they're not supposed to know you exist.
By being Working Salaryman Monster Hunter, your life is supposed to be so boring and so disconnected from people that you never learn the cult's purpose founded on a carefully build set of lies.
Shortly after Roxas does some missions with the cult members as support/mentors, you get a mysterious new member who you never heard of in the previous games. A girl named Xion who looks exactly like Kairi but with black hair and blue eyes. She also has a keyblade exactly like yours which is supposed to be impossible. Your murder friend, the red haired assassin Axel from CoM and 2, slowly warms up to both of these idiot children. Everyone else also slowly does although there's hints that everyone is seeing something different with the girl whose hood randomly goes up during cutscenes.
Turns out that Xion is a clone puppet just like Riku's in CoM. Except she's a girl when some people look at her and exactly like Sora to others and one guy sees a guy who looks exactly like Roxas but in clothes that look kind of like his amnesiac civilian outfit but are wildly different. Others see just a blank doll shape which is why sometimes her hood is up.
Xion is also slowly siphoning your strength because of magic reasons and she tricks you into killing her so not only do you have the strength to break free from the cult but also help save your other self. But because she was made from stolen memories, memories of Xion fade away leaving everyone super confused and making Axel EXTREMELY obsessed with Roxas due to all that friendship packed into one guy.
You fight against Riku who kicks your ass while blindfolded and drags Roxas to the mansion from KH2 because DiZ/Ansem has convinced him that the only way to help Sora's self is to glue the missing pieces back inside.
Kingdom Hearts: Coded, the phone game that no one outside of Japan got to play until they did.
Kingdom Hearts 1 but its a weird block puzzle game... except its not just the plot but you're all Tron-like NPCs running around trying to save the data from the digitized journal.
The journal is apparently sapient and chose an avatar based off of Riku. Maleficent's henchman Pete the Cat somehow Tron'd his way into the journal because Maleficent thinks that its a magic book she's trying to find and they apparently corrupted it with databugs to take it over. Mockery causes the AI Avatar of Sora to Pinocchio his way into having a REAL copy of the magic sword.
Over time Data Sora also repeats the plot of Chain of Memories and apparently the databug glitches were made by the journal's mystical connection to the real kid.
Mickey reverse-Trons himself back into the real world and some of the data people delete themselves and the whole game explained why Mickey sent the main character a letter at the end of 2.
Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, the Prequel that you have to play three times to beat.
Soooo remember the guy that looked a lot like Roxas but clearly wasn't him?
Game starts off with a flashback sequence where an old man dressed like the first game's villain (but with a shirt on) is watching him die because something happened that should've killed him. Instead his half-living corpse is tossed to the old man's best friend Master Eraqus or SquareEnix Backwards who looks like a wise if stern samurai dad.
Turns out that the keyblade people use to be a Jedi order of paladins with magic armor and some thing that could turn their magic swords into space-bikes. Now you're jealous of them.
You get to pick one of three characters to play as who have slightly different storylines while still running around the same worlds trying to solve problems for Disney characters and fix the inexplicably similar but different eldritch soul monster invasion. They're now called Unversed.
The shortest character is the happy carefree boy who looks exactly like Roxas. Ventus holds his keyblade backwards, plays the most similar to Sora/Roxas, and uses air magic and blitz strikes. The girl character Aqua looks vaguely but not really like an adult version of Kairi, is more of a mage than a swordsman so let's just call her a spellblade, and is closer to a shoujo hero (minus the romance plot) and just wants everyone to be happy and safe even if she has to kick their asses over it. The third character, Terra (not to be confused with FF6 Terra), is a very tall and buff offensive-heavy swordsman who favors earth magic. He is the shounen/seinen hero of the cast and a bit of a naïve doof.
The two older students take a test to prove their mastery of the keyblade and that they are ready to be called a master and roam the worlds helping them. There's three thrones but the other old master Yensid is not present and I don't know whether Merlin has a magic sword... probably not actually. But you have Master Dad Eraqus and Master Obvious Villain and guess who makes the test harder just to mess with you?
Master Obvious Villain, who is dressed like the Ansem and shares a name with the KH2/385 cult leader's real name from before he usurped Ansem's name and titles. Master Xehanort. The super obviously evil guy.
Aqua passes, Ventus cuts in to help save his friends, and Terra fails because he accidentally taps into the Dark Side of the Force.
They hop between worlds, doing the thing but with a new set of monsters and some new worlds. It's a case of each of them trying to catch up with each other and talk sense into one another over going home or getting help or finding the other one. It doesn't help that Terra keeps meeting the Disney Villains and and believes their takes on everything while Aqua and Ventus are being good heroes and occasionally lost but helpful nice people.
While Xehanort eggs people on, you run into the cult members while they were still alive and generally happier. You also run into a mysterious boy who's dressed almost exactly alike the time Riku was possessed by the soul-ghost of "Ansem". But with a helmet on to hide something. Vanitas keeps insulting people and is pretty much KH1 Riku all over again but with less reasons to be a jerk.
It turns out that Xehanort originally had Ventus spit his soul in half to make Masked Boy Vanitas who, without his helmet, looks exactly like an evil Sora instead because TURNS OUT that the reason why this Ventus looks Roxas is because when Sora was a literal baby, his soul offered to help heal the damaged soul of Ventus and that's why Ventus didn't die like Xehanort thought he was going to. Ventus and Vanitas are being set up to fight by Xehanort to make the ultra special holy magic sword keyblade "the XBlade" (read: ChiBlade, which sounds like Keyblade) in order to make a path to Kingdom Hearts. Yes its here again.
Also the monsters in this game are the soul-damage bleeding out from Vanitas since his half of the soul wasn't nursed back to health beyond making sure it didn't fall apart. Good job, Xehanort, you ruined one now two perfectly good boys at this point in time.
Now because this is a prequel you know this doesn't work. But because this is a prequel, I'm sure you wonder why you've never heard of any of these people.
Murder. The answer is murder.
Terra is tricked into killing Jedi Dad Eraqus, whose soul hops into him to help protect him from the evil magic slowly corrupting him. Terra is then possessed by Xehanort making him now look exactly like KH2/358's cult leader Xemnas... and loses his memories because Terra's soul is being already possessed by Eraqus so there's a constant war in his soul for control leaving the body with no idea who he is. It takes an already partially possessed cult member to help set things up in addition to all the nonsense going on in the background to keep the plan on track.
Ventus's soul gets damaged again and is lost, but actually goes off into Sora's soul to heal. This is why Sora has a keyblade at the beginning of the series because it turns out that the reason why everyone thought that Riku was the prophesized savior was because he was intentionally blessed with a keyblade by Terra for... some reason, probably to do with his desire to protect his friends. Sora has no idea he even has a keyblade until his world is torn apart by Riku out of impatience because he's been waiting for Terra to show up and teach him how to keyblade. This is how Fake Ansem convinces him to break the world.
Aqua meanwhile accidentally blessed Kairi with a keyblade, but she's so busy looking for Ventus and Terra that when she sees Possessed Terra nearly murder them, she ships off Ventus's soulless body to their home world which gets turned into Chain of Memories memory-card castle Oblivion for his body's protection. Then she goes to fight Terra and free him, only to get tossed into Disney-RPG Hell where she spends the next... ten years? Something like that, of nonstop fighting and struggling to survive there. It's implied to only have Heartless so your guess is as good as mine how she ate or if she ever slept. (Turns out Time is nonlinear in Disney-RPG Hell so some people spend long amounts of time there and others spend days but come out years later.)
Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, or KH with Pokemon.
It's time for Sora and Riku to take their Master Jedi test! To do this, they are told by Yensei to enter a magical dream world where all worlds that are still trapped in darkness as they recover from the Heartless invasion are 'sleeping'.
For some reason this means there's magical monsters that look vaguely like Heartless but are actually some kind of Nightopian Nightmaren setup of magic soul fragments called Dream Eaters. Also The World Ends With You cast are running around the dream worlds like it is UG Tokyo. Which raises questions in my head about the Reapers and whether this means Joshua is an avatar of Kingdom Hearts.
For some even stranger reason, their test is a lot harder than the one given to the Birth by Sleep students. Like a lot. Terra and Aqua just had to prove their skill and self-control while slapping magic light with their keyblades. These guys are told they have to save seven sleeping worlds instead. In spite of all the times they've saved the entire universe as well as directly saved the worlds.
This is the game where I start to hate Yensid.
Sora and Riku now in addition to running around the forgotten worlds and sleeping memories have to fight Fake Ansem, Xemnas, Master Xehanortt, and some mysterious teenager who are all there to gatecrash the test once again because it worked in Birth by Sleep. While fighting them, it turns out that the Xehanort has access to time travel magic and that's why every version of himself was working towards the same goal of reaching Kingdom Hearts off the deaths of every single being in the universe if necessary. The teenager is his past self. Young Xehanort.
The real goal of the cult is to make perfect host bodies for pieces of Xehanort's soul. To this end, this requires a weakened will and/or incomplete soul that he can suppress and fill with his own. He plans to turn Sora into his latest host since Riku has been successful in keeping him out.
Meanwhile in the living world, it turns out that murdering the Heartless that has someone's soul and then murdering their Nobody makes their real self alive again. So the cult's members who you killed are back to their real selves. Most of the fans' favorites are alive and looking for the missing members. Also Queen Minnie Mouse was kidnapped by Maleficent to blackmail Mickey Mouse into giving her access to the Journal again only for her to get inexplicably beaten up by the Revived Axel who had zero business on that world.
Mickey gets into the dreamworld in time to help stop the resurrection of Xehanort because at this moment he's still kinda-sorta dead. The plan with the hosts is to create the holiest of keyblades by forcing hearts of pure evil and hearts of pure light to fight in the hopes that that will make the holy keyblade appear and thus lead him to Kingdom Hearts because he wanted to see the super keyblade having heard stories of the keyblade war. We all want to see the Keyblade War but he took it too far.
In spite of doing nothing wrong and being in a coma during this whole encounter with Xehanort, Yensid claims that Sora screwed up and doesn't deserve the title of master yet gives it to Riku. Also it turns out that the Assassin Friend Axel now has a keyblade. Because of course he does.
Which is perfect because they need seven keyblade users to fight the thirteen superdark hosts of Xehanort. Which... just plays into the villain's hands.
Kingdom Hearts X (Chi), or the MMO we wanted and regretted getting.
We always wanted three things: To see the keyblade war because it sounded really really cool. A game where keyblade players got to fight. An MMO where we got to explore the worlds with friends. We got it. As a gacha mobile rpg where we were told that one of the five player factions was led by a lying traitor to Ancient Past Keyblade Jedi Leader and pitted against each other to see who got the most light fragments.
The fact that each of the faction leaders were all named after the Seven Deadly Sins while also taking design cues from our favorite Keyblade Characters did not help one bit.
Leopard was led by a boy named Gluttony who looked like Roxas/Ventus. Unicorn by Not-Riku whose name sounded like Wrath. Snake by Aqua "Envy". Fox by Kairi "Greed". And "Sloth" Terra leads Bear. Since one faction being led by a villain would've made at least a tenth of the playerbase complicit in villainy, instead the traitor was a mysterious sixth apprentice Luxu or Light or maybe a reference to Lucifer and the whole thing was arranged on purpose by the master whose keyblade looks suspiciously like the Xehanort's right down to the evil eyeball.
All faction members (who are all children) are given a magic not-moogle cat monster that help them as they run around fighting monsters that should not exist at this point in time.
It turns out that suspicion has caused the apprentices to turn on each other an that there's a whole Puella Magi setup with the monsters you're fighting being fallen corrupted members of the factions whose hearts have been consumed by dark magic.
It also turns out that the Keyblade War was fought between the factions over who was the traitor. The player character is offered a chance to go to the future in the hopes that scattering a few selected faction members whose loyalty and skill have been proven can help save the future from destruction.
Fun fact: it turns out that the player character, regardless of what faction you're in, is reborn as Xehanort. Some members are tossed into the future but become the villain's cult members such as Marluxia. Also the whole game is a data copy preserved in a different magic book that seems to be the one Maleficent has been seeking this whole time.
Kingdom Hearts III, the grand finale that said "screw you" to everyone.
Because I don't have a PS4/PS5, I've yet to play this one. That said I know some key facts anyway because of spoilers.
Sora is treated like crap and taunted by everyone because he was almost possessed by Xehanort, in spite of him doing more than anyone else to save the worlds while everyone else who did get hurt or possessed by Xehanort were also played by Xehanort so that's a weird hangup to have. The Grande Finale involves everyone involved in the main plot, although most of the Final Fantasy cameo characters are no longer in use for some reason. Sora, Riku, Kairi, and multiple ex-cult people all have keyblades. Aqua gets pulled out of Heartless Hell but she had turned Dark for a moment, Terra's willpower possessed armor the optional boss from KH2 who we see form in BbS shows up to bodycheck his villain possessed body, Ventus wakes up, Vanitas is still around.
By the way since Heartless Hell is nonlinear, this means that anyone chilling out in it - Riku, Mickey, Sora, Real Ansem, Xemnas, Roxas - could've saved Aqua at literally any point in time. Its not even a question of keeping the timeline secure since characters can and do abuse time travel. Mainly Xehanort but there are a couple bits by the heroes like in KH2 when they hop between Disney Castle World and Steamboat Willy River. Sucks to be her.
Actually all the characters who supposedly died or were lost are back. All of them. A lot of them are possessed by Xehanort as his new host bodies. Others are brought back from the dead at the end of the game even when they already exist (ex: Axel and his original self Lea, while Xion and Namine and Roxas all gain their own existences).
Xehanort turns out to have been Good All Along and has had good reasons for trying to destroy the universe. He and Eraqus go off to Kingdom Hearts or some other happy afterlife hand-in-hand.
Sora, meanwhile, pretty much kills himself saving everyone so he's even more of a Messianic figure in the series than shounen protags tend to be. Goofy almost dies and Donald whips out Zettaflare - a power that outstrips anything seen in any Final Fantasy game before.
In the end it also turns out that the character helping keep Xehanort's plot on track was Luxu all along. Also the Union Faction Leaders are back, thus setting up the next arc of God knows how many more games. Which begins with a music-based rhythm game and possibly also Super Smash Bros Ultimate.

The "Kairi Problem"
Hey guys it's Kairi day I'm gonna go on a long rant about how sad I am that she kinda sucks as a character.
To start I want to say that I absolutely adore Kairi, and that this isn't meant to be me hating on her, because I do really love her as a character (I literally stole her name for heavens sake). I just believe that there are a lot of problems with her character I need to get out of my system.
Ok, let us begin! First off, and the main issue with her for me is her pure reliance on Sora, and how much that really has damaged her character. Kairi is best when she's not around Sora. For instance, her conversations with Lea in KH3 are some of my favorite parts of that game. Their dynamic is so fun, and I wish they had more screentime together because they have the potential to have this sibling relationship that would be so wholesome. Along with her other interactions with characters, she could have such a great friendship with Aqua, seeing as Aqua will be teaching her how to better herself with the keyblade, it would be great to see more of their interactions.
HOWEVER! These are the only 2 meaningful relationships Kairi has outside of Sora. And even then, Sora makes up 80% of her interactions. Not even her and Riku talk much after KH1. They hardly even talk in Melody of Memory, a "Kairi game" where she is hardly playable. Not only that, at the end of that game Riku basically told her that she needs to stay home and let him to do work to find Sora. This to me is a big misstep in the writing for her character.
Kairi has self-confidence issues, one of her battle lines in Re:Mind is literally "please work". She has no faith in her abilities, but so much can be done with that. She can have an arc about believing in yourself and coming into her own and learn to stand beside Sora and Riku, not just letting them protect her.
This is partially due to her lack of screentime. She's never really been the focus of anything, she's just Kairi. The prize. That's really what she is, she's like the princess in another castle. Just "the girl". And that's a terrible thing to do with her character because unlike Peach, the princess in another castle, Kairi doesn't get the chance to rise above that label. In 21 years you'd think she'd be given something, anything really. I think that's why her kicking a heartless in the KH TV show pilot made me, and probably others, so excited. She did something! And it was cool, that's what we needed. Something cool.
So why am I talking about all this? The fandom has made jokes about Kairi being a plank of wood for years, it's no secret to anyone she's been given very little in terms of character. I guess my question is why? Why is Nomura giving this character with an interesting backstory and an interesting set of powers with seeds of a character if you squint such little time? Not only has she been around since the very beginning, but even characters who we know much less about than her are far more fascinating. I like to compare her to Yozora, who is a character we really know nothing about however we know he's powerful, and we know he has a goal. And I can assume he will deliver on both of those things even when we know more about him. Kairi on the other hand has had very few cool moments, has no goal, and just MIGHT be powerful. I mean you'd think having a princess of heart, a topic that has been covered in multiple games and will likely continue to be touched upon, as a main character would be amazing, right? Well, she's hardly ever mentioned to be a princess of heart and all we know about her powers is that she can bring back a heartless Sora in Kingdom Hearts 1. And that's it, that's all we know.
And I haven't even gotten into the whole thing about the Destiny Trio, the main trio in this series made up of 3 very important characters, feels more like 2 duos. It's either Sora and Riku or Sora and Kairi, not "Destiny Trio". And we know Nomura can write good trios, even while having 2 of the characters have moments together. So why can't the Destiny Trio have this? The 3 of them hardly interact without one of them overshadowing the other. For instance, the Riku and Sora KH2 reunion.
Sora is confused on how Riku can be here when he looks like Ansem. Kairi shows Sora that it is in fact Riku, and Sora and Riku have a moment. Then Kairi does nothing for the rest of the scene. In every case, that is a Riku and Sora scene where Kairi is just there. And this happens time and time again, where Riku or Kairi is put to the side so they both can have their moment with Sora.
And now it's time to talk about the scene where Xemnas kidnaps her. This scene is just... GAH I HATE IT!!! Xemnas just snatches her and then somehow, she's just passed out and gets killed. Not only that, but the reactions from other characters are also so lackluster. Sora does his "Kairi!" thing, and if anyone else were to have reacted I would say it should be Riku and Lea. Of course, Lea was dealing with his own troubles during that scene, seeing his best friends again was definitely something that would be more important to him, however he and Kairi spent time together growing a bond and training together, you'd think he'd at least go after her a little more? He does nothing! The only person that reacts to it is Sora, which is so sad since you'd think even Roxas would care a bit, since he and Kairi had that brief moment in KH2 where Roxas and Kairi's minds connect. You'd think any of them would have more of a reaction than they did. And she herself just sits there and struggles a bit. She's got another hand she could use to summon her keyblade again and swipe at him or do anything else that isn't absolutely nothing.
This whole scene would have been better if they had waited longer for Kairi to get taken, maybe she goes into battle with Sora, Riku, and Mickey when they fight the norts, but Xehanort swopes down and stabs her with his keyblade or something. If that happens, we could get more of a reaction from Riku. Really anything that isn't what we got would be better.
Throughout this whole series Kairi has been pushed to the side time and time again, and I highly doubt that'll end any time soon. With a new saga coming and more focus being placed on the Foretellers and what came before, Kairi will likely be once again pushed to the side lines while other more interesting characters take the front lines. It's a very sad fate for a character that has so much potential she'll never live up to due to a lack of interest from the writer.

YOU THOUGHT HE WAS HEARTLESS??? dude cares SO much hes been consistently trying to stop a war and find his sister and stuff??? jkdashkj (also it was just very dramatic and Cool and made me laugh bc he was SO serious and straight faced during the whole thing. nerves of STEEL)
-'i wonder if kurosaki is a lot like crow'….theyre both bird boys. theyre uniting to be bird FRIENDS and FIST BUMPED OVER IT WHY AM I TEARING UP. SHUN LOST WITH A SMILE TOO….im glad theyre friends and birds and birdfriends. even jack smiled over crow winning AAAUGH. STOPPP. too cute. didnt expect this ep to be so WHOLESOME
-the subs said smth like 'youre one of us' when they were through speaking (which is lovely bc they have a solidarity in that they both have causes theyre fighting for) but the more literal translation of what was said was closer to 'you're one of my/our friends now' from crow. Augh. AUGGH. ;_;
my god the sora meeting up with yuzu then their monsters working together (in an ADORABLE dance sequence) was THEE best thing ever like 2 eps in a row have been BANGERS and making me unlock new emotions. I love both of their decks SO much too????
screenshots that made me bawl my eyes out tbh. like I literally, actually cried a little JKADSHKFJ sora has FRIENDS for the first time and he LOVES THEM and they TRUST HIM he found the best friends ever and its SO tender. this is why I watch ygo btw. sobbing in the club rn.
-yuzu declares shes gotta save yuya bc he is, once again, locked up. girl boss protag! …of course tsukikage interrupted and tbh he and sora had Points abt it being better if sora goes and gets yuya since hes…yeah, trained for this kinda stuff but they all trust each other and the whole teacher and student thing with yuzu and sora…god theyre all so CUTE this is EXACtly what I wanted ;__; exactly what i NEEDED.
-yugo v serena started exactly how I expected jdshjk I LOVE how constantly Pissed serena is. shes SO blunt and I love her for it. (but also wARRANTED he got way too clingy fast and im sure thats Weird for her. gotta assume her and yuri werent…like, even acquaintances or anything by way she acts around the yu boys) she did make sure to let yugo know she expected a lot from him from his last duel which was Something. but my god yugo is SO in love with rin isnt he kjdsahkj hes got like that wholesome childhood friends puppy love, the way he imagines her, and its REALLY cute. cannot wait to actually meet rin…
-roget is so damn annoying that everytime he speaks i just hear the adults from the peanuts cartoons so i cant recall, but hes saying smth abt wanting serena to be a symbol for the commons and the tops and im like. he wants her and yuzu so academia cant have them and has his own plans for them, but. does he know WHY academia wants them? im gonna need him to share with the class. I still need to know too
-also its rly annoying that roget is cheesing the duel in serena's favor. but also I'm always rooting for the girls so like. i get it, but if shes gonna win I want it to be on her own merits yk… (rin seems so cute from the flashbacks also, she always WON IN THEIR DUELS?? GIRL IS STRONG IM EVEN MORE EXCITED TO MEET HER)
-yuyas thng where he can astral project (??) himself into his alt selves bodies is creepy and i KNOW its prob not supposed to be but it IS and I Dont Like it. Pls dont Dissolve yugo too like u did with yuto. maybe it only happens to them when theyre not in their dimension. maybe yugo will absorb yuya instead. I DOUBT it since yuya is protag protected but still
-….yugo being like 'no, i LIKE it that when youre in trouble the course changes and u get an action card!! its cool and a good thing!!!" OK FEMINIST KING JHDSKJF. hes great and I love him. (also yeah its not her FAULT roget is trying to give her advantages but id argue having yuya backseating on the duel is also kinda cheesing it for yugo so. theyre EVEN on the unintentional cheating)
-much as I hate to see her lose her attitude makes PERFECT sense given how she was raised in academia. duels are not Games to her, theyre tools, and she hates relying on whats basically handouts from roget to win or dumb luck. perfectly understandable and I appreciate her stubbornness and sense of honor abt it. but gotta agree with yugo that nah girl take the W if u can jkdhsjk. she ofc changes her tune later in the duel but Still
-oh my god yuri is HERE im going to PUKE just seeing his silhouette made me get so hyped up. i dont even KNOW him hes barely had ANY screentime but the way the other characters and even fucking roget hyped him make me like. dude u better be a hammy villain i have HIGH hopes for u. if hes good at being squirrely he WILL be my fav yuya counterpart EASY bc looks wise hes already my fav. pink and purple is unbeatable. but hes just STANDING THERE. MENACINGLY. with his lil bunny hair...tbh kinda cute.
-AWWW serena being like 'why am i getting kind of excited…' girl has had so little Hype in her life and this is def her first time hearing ppl cheer for her im gonna cry. id hype u up bestie ur SO cool and good at dueling….AND SHE GOT TO SAY LADIES AND GENTLEMEN THIS TIME. and SHE IS ENJOYING HERSELF GOOD FOR HER. I did kinda figure she woulnt win or go all the way (and I assume the same goes for yugo...) but. still very proud of her. and her and yugo had funnnn together ;w; yugo is lowkey befriending ALL the yuzu counterparts isnt he. king shit! love him!
-I know this shot of yuri standing is supposed to be menacing and threatening but he looks like a little. i dont know. like a littol kitty or perhaps a pug dog. he said :I look at him:
-btw why was he on top of the stadium howd he get up there. WHY IS HE STANDING ON TOP OF A MOVING TRUCK??? then he leaps OFF it and-- all the yuboys are so…acrobatic…I mean it makes sense if him and sora were both academia-trained but still...not Normal.
-oh…layra coming to save serena while reiji creates an opening for them and trusts his sibling to go do that…look at layras character development bc of jacks inspiration…layra got so vocal and seemed so confident IM SO PROUD OF ALL MY KIDS RN. SNIPED 3 COPS TOO. SO QUICKLY. it was barely a duel god damn. they are reijis sibling huh
-the way reiji keeps WINNING (also I love how his scarf defies gravity. very cool) roget is SOO mad and I love to see it. he said hes going to KILL REIJI AND THE COUNCIL? NOT DUEL THEM? KILL THEM OUTRIGHT? oh ok roget. sure you will when we have checks episode count at least …2-3 seasons left. sure you'll kill the sort of rival but not exactly character, who leads the lancers. I totallllly believe u ;)
-eeeeugh roget is so creepy 'normally i wouldve wanted to rework his (yuya) brain first but-' blah blah blah do you realize youre talking abt modifying a living person against their will. i mean hes already done it to every cop and sergey. but still. urgh creepy and bad.
-obv I know yuya will win the friendship cup stuff and duel jack. bc protag. but them pitting yuya v crow seems like swinging a bat at the hornets nest (the fandom) by definitively saying one is a better duelist and would win against the other…sjdhfkjn its the reason we dont get protag v protag duels in stuff like bbt n no conclusive winner to the judai v yugi duel i guess hahah. tbf this duel was p much all Thee Demon and not yuya, and fixed at the start so crow didnt do his 100% best on the first turn, and its not as if yuya planned to go thru with it at ALL bc hes got priorities, but ofc I figured thatd get dashed...despite their scheming...ugh. still a bit bummed. hope they have an earnest on screen duel fr before the end...
-I do love yuya and crow PLOTTING TOGETHER. thats great….schemers! also glad the whole 'crow thinks yuya might be working w the tops' shit was short-lived bc I knew crow wouldnt buy that
-sora…jumped onto a helicopter's wheel..and is just hanging on…his upper core and arm strength has to be INSANE what the HELL dude if u fall u will DIE dont DO THAT
-the silly music that plays when yuya brings out his hippos is such a bop. loveeee this ost
-….YUYA WAS GOING TO JUMP AND ABANDON THE DUEL TO GO TRY AND FIX SHIT. my god he was so close to breaking the unspoken ygo rule (protags always win tournaments) to ABANDON THE TOURNAMENT FOR THE SAKE OF THE PLOT!!! i cant believe it…roget stopped him with a BRAIN SHOCK??? he put some shit in his helmet :( at least its not IN HIS BRAIN I guess?? oh my god it increases aggression too. roget you are so so stupid man hes got a DEMON in his necklace or some shit you CANNOT be doing this its gonna come out and EAT you. or worse, eat crow who I actually like. i wouldnt MIND if it ate roget
-we then get a really cool shot of a red eye looking over a disintegrating city line. and all the yu-dudes have a Moment. uhhh safe to say this demon thats attached to all of them wiped out a fucking huge city or dimension/world? great. very cool. roget you dumb fuck youre going to cause the apocalypse or something
-the demon said fuck ya friends im winning the duel lmaooo of course its a demon with priorities to duel. classic ygo moment. the other yuboys are completely controlled and copying yuyas movements and their eyes are doing the Thing….ok, so the demons goal is 100% absorb all of them into one like what happened with yuto.. like to get the power of all the dimensions/their dragons all together? ? still like, doesnt explain why they all look the same or how the yuzugirls/bracelets are involved really, but im pretty sure thats the Idea right…starting to think we cant Friendship our way out of this and the demon might end up being. a real problem and not a Potential Bud. Sad
-'if he dies he dies' ok roget. youre horrible. VERY effective villain tho
-oh christ academia is here too rn? WORST timing. but im like. on the edge of my seat this is season finale worthy tension.
-btw this is a VERY funny screenshot. sora jumped from a helicopter WAY up in the air perfectly onto crows bike SOMEHOW without shattering all of his leg bones. what they dont tell you abt academia is that they replace all of your bones with a sturdy rubber so u can do unlimited parkour without hurting urself
-jack finally got up out of that damn chair he was so pissed crow lost jkdshjk. real. me and jack ALWAYS on same wavelength. twinsies <3
-yuya said FUCK the friendship cup im leaving for real this time. good for him. dip out and save ur friends. but you WILL be back to finish the tournament or so help me god. thats ygo LAW.
-genuinely didnt expect yugo and yuri to be SO funny when they interacted but my god i kept having to pause and laugh. but also…uhh…yugo really thought yuzu was DEAD?? he did keep sayin yuzu from heaven or smth along those lines BUT I THOUGHT HE WAS BEING CUTE AND CALLING HER AN ANGEL OR SMTH LIKE. AS A PET NAME. HE REALLY. THOUGHT SHE WAS DEAD? 'then I suppose rin lives on in your heart too' BRUTAL. but I laughed. sjdfkjn
btw this?
sounded like a genuine laugh jkhdsfjk and was super cute. im...hesitant to say i SHIP any of the yuboys bc im terrified its gonna be smth like theyre bros. literally interdimensional brothers or smth insane like that. but. if that DOESNT end up being the case. cmon. look at them.
-the council being like 'hmmm hmm yes maybe we shall use sergey and make peace with roget afterall to get him on our side :)' and reiji looking PISSED. my god I would be too, hes done so much for you FUCKS. down with the council and roget and academia and the tops/police force in synchro. they ALL gotta go.
-….god tsukikage is the best isnt he. as far as he knows, the carding of his bro is like. equal to death (I know it cant be, no way we're losing that many minor characters FOREVER. just like im 100% sure yuto will Be Back or smth) and still, hes like no we dont hold grudges thats not the way of my clan. thanks for your help. to sora. very tender and sweet moment im so glad…..
-YUYA LITERALLY BUSTING IN ON A MOTORCYCLE. ICONIC ENTRANCE AND THANK GOD. poor layra had to fight waaay too long :<
-…shun is WAY too extra I LOVE him lmaooo he straight up started bodying ppl underground with his fists AGAIN the second he heard academia was here. gonna need a shun fight compilation or gifset immediately if such a thing exists. and if not I will MAKE it. bird of Incredible Violence
-the REVOLUTION IS STARTINGGGGG OK SHINJI LETS GOOOOOO this is awesome
-…my god the stuff with layra and serena turned into a clusterfuck SO fast. sora showed up to try and help. yuya showed up to try and help. then YURI SHOWED UP. AND YUGO. and yuzu, FINALLY. everything happens So Much. (and then fucking sergey too) everyone is kinda in One Spot huh…Bad Feeling abt This
-speaking of bad feelings. when all the yu's dragons came out! and they started talking about becoming one and saying shit like 'i'll be revived!' ok. so. yuya's demon is trying to resurrect itself and needs all the yu's to do it. bad! kinda suspecting yuri and yugo are gonna go to Spirit Town with yuto kjsdnkjn oh no. so its like. safe to assume this is some zorc type shit? the demon put pieces of itself into each of them? the dragons are like, the key to Waking it Up (which…yuya did get his mysteriously from pendulum stuff right. his DAD gave him the pendulum necklace didnt he. im SO sus abt his fuckin dad rn I dont trust him I KNOW how ygo dads Are. this is his fault somehow. he gave his son a cursed Amulet type shit)
-…and the yuzugirls all have bracelets that can detect and lead to the demon when its active? …does reiji's dad know this? and wants them all together and to find the demon? and assumedly put it back together/fuse the yuboys for world/dimensional domination? maybe thats why hes trying to fuse the dimensions together, so he can rule them All with Demon Power (tm)? cliche but thats my best guess… but like. if thst WAS the case he'd just need one of the girls bc yuzu could find yuya on her own? or maybe leo is actually…trying to STOP the demon thing and is going abt it in the worst fuckedest up way possible. thats also a possibility. but he seems like. he doesnt give a FUCK abt the yuboys at all and just wants the girls so??? do they also have a demon. doesnt seem like it but that would be sick af I think the girls deserve to go a bit feral too. as a treat
-if…fusing the yuboys is the demons ultimate goal its already halfway there LOL got yuto! doesnt explain why it would split itself across dimensions to be in them in the first place or anything or why itd pick yuya and his counterparts unless it chose them from birth or smth (which explains why they might look the same kinda?) (I am going to assume when we keep seeing that cityline being destroyed in yuya's vision, that it at one time was some big bad. so assumedly it got destroyed and maybe scattering itself was a last ditch effort in hopes of being revived?? or someone else did it??) also still doesnt explain how the yuzugirls factor in. im trying so hard rn to figure it Out. the whole 'we will be ONE AGAIN' thing did confirm a lot of my suspicions tho and if I was yugo and yuri id get the HELL OUT OF DODGE tbh
-also. the bracelets have teleportation powers. (yuboys specifically targetted during it…) what does THAT imply? that the dragons pull them together…and the bracelets are tools to keep them apart? from fusing? hm. so what im understanding is yuzu protag real
-earthbounds are SO cute I loved them in 5ds how is it fair that SERGEY has them. bullshit
-btw I appreciate how cute yuzu's prison jumpsuit is. shes just runnin around in a lil onesie doing all of this. I mean motorcycle suits are also onesies. this is the onesie arc
-why has the nerve gas on serena lasted so long. i feel like it shouldve long since worn off
-the entire duel between barett and yuya was 'tell me where yuzu is.' 'no' 'tell me' 'i..said i wasnt going to?' 'tell me' 'no' tell me' 'NO' 'oh shes here :)' 'FUCK' like for 20 mins I swear to god jasdfk
-they took serena nooooooo. sad :( I hope we can see a lil of academia and keep following her while shes there (and that shes not just thrown in a cell) oh!! i hope her and rin and ruri can meet up there!!! I want to see them
-SERGEY HAS DISGUSTING LEG…ENGINES??? HE FUCKING LAUNCHED OFF WITH YUZU. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK. diGUSTING this man is nightmare duel what the hell. not my best girl :<
-layra deciding sora is a Safe Person and clinging to him…VERY cute ;_; sora once again being the one to go and try to save yuzu too…BESTIES.
-…the fact the duel arena is..empty bc the fucking revolution is happening outside LMAO even gon is like 'hey why the hell are they even continuing the tournament rn this is ridiculous' same dude!!
-holy shit jack is finally doing smth. jack is going to beat sergeys ass im so ready do it king. his cool as a cucumber disposition and pretty face are like. the only buffer I have to protect me from sergey
-choziro appealing to shingos EGO to get him to protect layra is SO funny. hes got NO braincells and hes the best for it
-ohhh the rain during the sergey v jack match. jack In The Rain while sergey DESTROYS THE ROAD. its so DRAMATIC and cool and I love this for him yesss show this guy how jack duels!!! #1 king of all time. hes calling him shit like 'fool' and 'buffoon' too such a jack moment. and 'if theres perfection, its ME' oh my GOD I love you SO much jack. pls.
-I need u all to understand ygo is My Sports Game I'm hysterical rn over jack slipping past sergey and then RIDING BACKWARDS TO FACE HIM. love when jack does that
-by the way, roget bringing yuzu up to have someone to monologue at? v funny
-jack caused sergey to have some kind of fucking…duelgasm which caused an Error. which is Disturbing I hate this dude TF. this is the effect jack has on everyone tho I guess
-ROGETS LITTLE 'SERGEEEEY!!!' SCREAM WAS SO FUCKING FUNNY I NEED A CLIP OF THAT HIS VOICE. LIKE. JKDFHKJ. hes LOSING his shit I cant stop laughing
-I Never Doubted Jack for One Second
-You Ever Have a Duel So Good You Kill Yourself After. ok. goodbye sergey. cannot say I will miss you infact I am very Relieved actually
-…by the way. does jack know anything abt whats currently happening with the plot? im sure he at least knows abt the revolution but does he know abt the lancers/academia stuff? hes been on his Chair most of the time so I assume Not which is very funny. this random dude just dueled him, turned into a bike, then killed himself after and jack is like. well ok. JKDSHFKJ
-some rando street dudes killed sergey actually. but he was def falling on purpose. either way. watching roget LOSE it is so funny his plan has sucked ass from the start
-shun scooping layra up was really cute. Scooped
-HOLY SHIT YUZU. SLAMMED INTO ROGET AND HE HIT HIS HEAD ON THE EDGE OF HIS CHESS TABLE. i LOVE how shes consistently been a Get Shit Done girl even when shes cuffed rn. she said ya im gonna go steal his broadcast and get MY message out
-jack said for sam to tell yuya: Yuya Im Fucking Disappointed in You. Stop dueling like a Damn Animal. and this is enough to make yuya actually remember his goals. and run to the palace to duel jack again. to stop the riots and shit with a Duel. Good
-reijis smile when layra ran and hugged him PLS. cute
-the council finally gets fucking Told by Reiji. 'those who sit on the sidelines have no right to speak about the future' hey reiji youre the best (and his whole speech was REALLY good)
-shun and his Flock of Birds comes to Help. why is that so funny and kinda sweet. hes gotta STAND on his too while it flies like a drama queen
-the tournament was basically canceled bc we didnt get the semifinal duels BUT we are getting jack v yuya anyway of course as the finale…is it bad I still want jack to win? I want yuya to be fine with winning so long as it makes ppl smile bc THATS his main goal and jack is a symbol of hope for the ppl in this city…so I want jack to Win…again…but this is a duel for yuya to redeem himself after losing to jack the first time isnt it. aah
-'i declared martial law!' 'no you dont' thats basically what the council guy did kjshk
-lancers beating cops up together in the stadium :) on live tv….fun lil friend group activity aw…
-JACK SMILED WHEN HE SAW LAYRA DUEL IM ACTUALLY EXPERIENCING CUTE AGGRESSION BC OF JACK
-by the way can roget even duel. he hasnt, hes just had other ppl do it for him and been hellbent on KILLING ppl when it comes down ot it. which is. weird and funny for a ygo villain ur not even gonna duel for urself dude? do u even have any cards
-radish horse is such a cute card btw. all of yuyas cards are p Cute.
-im SO glad jack said 'dude STOP with your fathers words and speak with YOUR OWN WORDS' tbh real and true.
-…the subs this ep abruptly changed rogets name to roger….lol roger. (and the font changed between episodes which is like. Why did you do that. I cant focus on anything else now that its Weird)
-the sound gons shoes make is like asmr to me. clank clank clank :)
-I like how jack basically teaches yuya his own will can be learned from others but duels are conversations and u gotta use ur own 'words/will' to convey what youve gotten from everyone youve dueled before. its like. abt appreciating and carrying ppl before u with u. and gratitude for everyone whos taught u smth put towards achieving ur own goals. dueling for others sakes. very cute message and true bc yuya wouldnt be able to do half the stuff he can w/ pendulum if it wasnt for his buds yk
-omg jack laughed and was smiley :) yayy
-the clown guy from 5ds made a cameo! still dont remember shit abt him besides the fact he has a Clown Wife and is on arc v money…?? Ok
-ok the end of the duel was pretty cute im not even that mad abt jack losing. bc jack was happy…it makes sense too. when ur the king it can be BORING if no one challenges u or whatever
-not a huge fan of the cops magically bein buds now but fine, I get it was mind control making them suck ass and this is a more idealistic world
-the..council disbanded? cool. the upper class will dissolve and the lower class will be able to live better…very optimistic happy ending…and it all happened very fast, compared to the pacing of this arc so far tbh??? like. ok guess nothing is bad and everything is Fine Immediately! (this is a thing every ygo series does tho so. not a total awful thing I cant look past, but it did give me kinda mood whiplash)
-yuzu and reiji calling roget out!!! reiji must be so damn tired of adults not taking responsibility!!! his whole thing is just running around cleaning up after grown ass men!!!
-im tired too, reiji. tired of yuzu being a Damsel to Roget. let her DO more next arc or so Help Me God
-next episode(s) are supposed to be watched together in a HOUR LONG SPECIAL ohh. inchresting
-love how even tho they were also going w yuya to where reiji and yuzu are, heaven FORBID crow and jack ride in the copter with yuya. no, they HAD to ride their d-wheels here.
-holy shit. so. tsukikage and sora DID win the duel against roget! and so did reiji! hes just! a fucking cheating bastard! like 'neverending duel that wont end ever until u quit' ok…that does fit rogets character LMAO hes a WORM. of course I trust reiji to be the one to be able to Beat The Bullshit
-roget is such a fuckin slime trying to turn the lancers against reiji and reiji countered his logic with ONE sentence lmao. also reijis lil smile when yuya said he trusts reiji :( sweet…
-ohhh…yuya and yuzu hugging and crying bc they FINALLY got each other back…tender…
-roget says he'll drop everything into the void between dimensions. So there IS a void. did I not say in one of these posts I think the yuya demon crawled out of a void in between dimensions. now we have confirmed such a space EXISTS… will I Be Right? :3c
-….roget got sucked in and the portal closed. lmao. is he DEAD? goodbye forever (hopeful)
-…fuck. the wormhole also took yuzu, yuya, gon, shun, and shingo…. to xyz dimension!! yeahhh heartland!!!! LOVE IT. KAITO TIME??? prayin its kaito time.
-'the capital of despair, heartland' is the ep title. oof. heartland looking rough :(
I will say its funny (in a horrible way) they took the Cheeriest Setting (heartland) and did this to it. and that gx setting which is also pretty chill (a school setting...) and made them fucking interdimensional warmongers. and 5s, the canonically most gritty setting was Not Involved like until the lancers showed they were the neutral ones hahah
-arc area project!!! we havent gotten a name for leo's lil 'unify the dimensions' scheme yet until now! so…arc is in the name. back to my og theory the name arc v means more than fifth series in the ygos. and like. theres (5) dimensions for Sure right. (or, the unity of the four would be the fifth?) hm. Thinking
-shingo asking the real q of why the hell turning ppl into cards/waging war on xyz would help fuse dimensions. i also still want to know. (we keep seeing the shot of leo feeding the cards into a machine, so..hes using…soul/ppl power? to power it to fuse the dimensions?? dude what good is ruling dimensions if NO ONE is left in them???)
-…a lot of this two parter was flashbacks/recapping stuff. I…kinda appriciate the earlier flashbacks but god it could've went faster.
-KAITOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! OF COURSE YOU WOULD SHOW UP ON EPISODE 100!!! SOOO HAPPY TO SEE U :D zexal is the series I KNOW the most like its engraved in my brain, unlike 5ds where I barely remembered enough to be able to tell all the ways its an au, so im gonna be fucking ON IT trying to figure out stuff Now. also, is kaito the only zexal character? why? dont two gx charas show up? and we had jack and crow in the synchro world?? zexal shouldve gotten 2. I vote akari bc 1. she didnt get enough screentime and we always need More Girls 2. she can ride a bike so if they go back to synchro shes set already 3. she kicks ass and is a reporter so she could be trying to report on the war/document it. 4. her and melissa could be reporter gfs. im RIGHT hear me out.
-oh at the end of the ep there was a promo for dsod? this came out around then?? wow thats wild. I saw that movie in THEATERS when it released in the us. very fun. the nearest theater that was showing it was 2 hours away lol. we should have another ygo movie. pls. (maybe not another dm one tho…)
#sanchoyo liveblogs arc v#yaaay episode 100 :) nooo only like 50 eps left??#aaaugh <- hates starting new things but also hates ending things#i GUESS I will watch vrains too after but not IMMEDIATELY after#tbh go rush looks more interesting to my personal tastes BUT.#ive watched all the ygos in chronological order so far...i dont want to skip just in case. what if go rush has like#a 2 second reference to vrains or sevens that i dont understand :( bc i skipped them :(#also go rush is still airing so id be annoyed if I ran out of eps and had to WAIT jdkf#but.....aliens.......#my friends Aliens (<- loves aliens....)#:(#sanchoyorambles#arc v#ygo
