Who do you think is Catarina Claes' final enemy and what is the hidden villain's real motive? Thank You

Humm...I guess by "final enemy", you mean the mastermind of the organization ? I think he is a reincarnated and a person Catarina knew in her previous life. I have a theory about reincarnation ; I think that reincarnated are always people who had profound regrets in their previous life. It was the case for Acchan and Catarina and (If one of my theory is correct) Monkey girl's second big brother.

At first, the plot wanted us to think it was the grey-eyed man we saw in the volume 13 but it doesn't seem to be the case since he was "ordered" to retrieve Sarah in problematic cases. So he's not the mastermind since he obeys the orders of someone, but despite that he is very smart and hid his crimes very well so he could be a powerful " first final boss".

But as I said, I think the "final boss" is a reincarnated because he seems to know the plot of the game very well, as well as its characters.

By hidden villain I don't know if you mean FL!Catarina or the mastermind. I don't know what is FL!Catarina's real motive but I don't think she came back only for revenge against Maria, maybe there was something else.

For the mastermind I think his motive is to engulf this world in darkness to take control over the kingdom and for that he will use his knowledges from the game and from his past life. The problem it that, being a reincarnated, Catarina, one of the villains , is not acting like her version in the game. So one of his goal may be to make Catarina loose control of herself and join their side.

HameFura Theory That Came When I was Reading Novel 12

Hi! Hello! Yes! This theory contains spoilers for HameFura Light Novel 12, as well as a (currently fairly-minor) character that appears in Novel 4, or in episode 11 of the 2nd season of the anime.

If that's all sorted, then go under the cut to read my theory!

So! There's a character that weilds dark magic and was more-or-less behind the kidnapping of Keith in book 4, or season 2, episode 11. She wanted to have a dark familiar, but Katarina took it by accident instead, and she didn't try to seal it back.

Her name is Sarah, and she was basically bought and experimented on during childhood, was referred to only by a number, and later escaped.

In novel 11, we get to hear from Sarah again, and it's in her POV! Apparently she reports to some master, and her thoughts and actions are more like that of a vacant puppet's. (Or at least they were until she interacted with Little Miss Bakarina)

Jump to novel 12, and Fray gets stolen by her crappy dad, who asked Sarah to force Fray to become the perfect puppet of a daughter once again.

And here is where we find out that Sarah (with the aid of dark magic) can poke into people's brains! And not just general feelings, no, she's able to get a whole backstory montage from it!

We find this out during her POV in the same book.

Now, I've not read Volume 13 (I don't think it's been translated quite yet), as far as I can tell, Sarah doesn't appear there.

But, when she eventually does appear again, who's to say she won't attempt to poke into Katarina's brain, too?

And when she does, she'd likely be able to see Katarina's past life!

I mean, Katarina's past life has been coming up to the forefront more and more! The mysterious letter that talked about Fortune Lover 2 that was delivered to Katarina in her book, Katarina just leaving the note not of this world open for anyone to see while she sleeps on the couch, that's just asking for an accident to happen!

Not only that, but I remember reading that in volume 13, one of Katarina's older brothers gets mentioned, not by name, but by scene, as he tells her to, "Always do your best!" Or something to that effect.

It just seems like Katarina's past life is getting closer and closer to her current one!

Or, ya'know, I could also just straight-up be wrong. That's likely too...

Hamefura LN14 Chapter 1 Part 3 Summary

I am currently reading Hamefura LN14 and will post summaries after each chapter.

It feels weird to see the novel covers a theory I posted a while ago ^^.

Chapter 1: The Encounter at the Party (Part 3)

Katarina and Keith Meet the Foreign Siblings

Katarina and Keith start heading back to the buffet since everyone is waiting there.

Katarina encounters again the girl from before. She reflexively smiles and bows to her. The girl also bows to her.

Keith discreetly asks Katarina if she knows her. Katarina replies she has met the girl earlier at the buffet and it appears they have a similar philosophy regarding how to enjoy dishes. Keith can hardly imagine a girl similar to Katarina in regards to eating.

The girl is escorted by the man who is supposedly her brother. The man is startled when he sees Katarina. Katarina remembers that he saw her eating.

Katarina decides to introduce herself to them. She makes a ladylike curtsy and introduces herself as "Katarina Claes, from the ducal Claes family of Sorcier."

The girl also bows and introduces herself as "Haru Kaburagi, from the comital Kaburagi family on the border of Sharma" 

Haru's name and kimono look remind Katarina of Japan.

Haru points to her brother. He bows and introduces himself as "Ryou Kaburagi".

Keith also introduces himself and bows his head.

Both Pair of Siblings Hit It Off

Ryou looks at Katarina and apologizes for his sister's crude manners earlier. Before Katarina can tell him she found them magnificent, Keith also apologizes to Ryou for Katarina's crude manners. Katarina can't believe Keith apologized for her "crude manners" when he wasn't even there. But Ryou seems to completely understand what Keith means.

With a tired face, Ryou tells Keith he is glad that he is so understanding. No matter how much he scolds his sister, she won't act ladylike and she keeps running outside and stuffing herself on events like this. It is so hard to keep an eye on her.

From what Ryou said, Katarina feels like she and Haru have more affinities than she thought.

Keith tells Ryou he completely understands what he means. Katarina won't listen no matter how much he scolds her, and even today, despite all his warnings, she went straight to the buffet, got absorbed in her eating, and wouldn't come back.

Keith and Ryou seem to have found a kindred spirit in each other since they both have troublesome sisters. They shake hands.

While the boys are excitedly talking to each other, Katarina decides to strike up a conversation with Haru.

Katarina asks Haru if she likes to eat. Haru says yes. She has been looking forward to Sorcier's food so much that she went straight to the buffet upon arriving.

Katarina tells Haru that the castle's food is so good that she always ends up overeating. And there are especially a lot of desserts today. Haru is excited upon hearing about desserts. Katarina asks her if she hasn't tried them. Haru confirms she hasn't since her brother dragged her to greet the king. She was just on her way back to the buffet. Katarina suggests they head to the buffet then. Haru wholly agrees.

Ryou and Cyrus Meet Again

Katarina, Haru, Keith, and Ryou head to the buffet together. Keith and Ryou seem to have hit it off and keep telling their sisters not to overeat. 

Upon arriving at the buffet, Mary welcomes Katarina back. Alan is also with her. The two seem to have returned here. 

Mary notices Haru and Ryou. She looks at them with a puzzled look. Katarina introduces them and explains how she came to meet them.

Ryou suddenly recognizes Cyrus and calls him. Cyrus also recognizes Ryou with surprise. They seem to know each other.

Cyrus explains to everyone that Ryou is his childhood friend. They played a lot together when they were kids because their territories were next to each other. But he hasn't seen him ever since he went to the royal capital to enroll in the Academy of Magic.

Ryou tells Cyrus he's such a cold person. He thought they were friends but Cyrus barely sent him any letter since he departed to the Academy of Magic, and he wasn't even here when he came to this party in Sorcier. 

Cyrus replies that he actually sent him several letters.

Ryou tells him the number of letters is not the issue. Cyrus only wrote about mundane things, so he was worried Cyrus might be hiding painful problems.

Ryou grabs Cyrus's shoulders and pulls him close. He asks Cyrus in a low voice if he has overcome his problem since he can handle being surrounded by such beautiful women.

Katarina is standing close to them, so she can hear them. But as a lady, she pretends she doesn't.

Ryou is aware of Cyrus's apprehension of young women. Cyrus didn't talk about his problem in his letter so Ryou wouldn't worry about him. From their conversation, Katarina can tell the two are close friends. 

Cyrus painfully tells Ryou that he still hasn't overcome his problem. It has actually become worse. 

Katarina still pretends she doesn't hear anything.

Ryou is so surprised that he inadvertently raises his voice when he asks Cyrus how he can spend time with these beautiful women. Mary and the others have probably heard him but since they're ladies, they pretend they didn't.

Cyrus whispers in response that Katarina and Maria are his subordinates at work and the other ladies are their friends. He can somehow manage to deal with ladies when he puts himself in work mode.

Ryou is relieved that Cyrus can somehow manage to deal with ladies but he worries that Cyrus might never marry at this rate. Cyrus says it isn't a problem at all since his older brother has already taken over the family and his nephews are growing healthily. 

Ryou worries since Cyrus has told him that his issue grew worse and that he doesn't mind remaining single. He wonders if something happened.

Katarina wonders if Cyrus has completely given up on Maria since he has no intention to marry. She thinks he can't woo Maria because he has no villainess to make his love progress.

Haru and Cyrus Meet Again

Haru speaks to Cyrus and asks him if he remembers her. She gracefully walks to him like a "Yamato Nadeshiko". Cyrus gets flustered looking at Haru. If Ryou wasn't grabbing his shoulders, he would have probably moved back or run away.

Cyrus tells Haru he doesn't think he is acquainted with her.

Haru tells him she is "Haru". They played a lot together with her brother when they were little.

Cyrus is surprised because "Haru" is supposed to be Ryou's little brother.  

Haru replies she had short hair and wore boys' clothes when she was little. She noticed Cyrus took her for a boy but she was a girl all along.

Katarina takes from this that Cyrus misunderstood Haru's gender when they were little. He told her before there were no women his age in his hometown but he seems to have misunderstood things. Cyrus is so dense.

Cyrus is shaken while processing that Haru is a girl. Anyone would if they discovered the boy they were friends with was actually a girl and had grown into a beautiful woman. What's more, Cyrus was apprehensive of young women.

Haru tells Cyrus he has become even more splendid than when they were children. She smiles at Cyrus. Cyrus somewhat smiles at her. He flusteredly tells her she has greatly changed.

Haru replies that it is to be expected. Her family nags her to wear female clothes now that she is grown up. She still wears men's clothes on her family's territory but she properly wears female clothes in public.

Cyrus somehow enters something like work mode.

Katarina feels even more affinities with Haru after hearing she usually wears men's clothes.

Haru Asks Cyrus To Become His Fiancée

Haru shyly asks Cyrus if he has a fiancée.

Katarina assumes Haru didn't hear Cyrus and Ryou's conversation earlier. She doesn't seem aware of Cyrus's young women issue either.

Cyrus replies he doesn't have a fiancée.

Harus asks him if he has someone he loves.

Cyrus glances at Maria and ponders what to answer. After giving it some thought, he tells Haru he has no one. He seems too embarrassed to say that he loves someone.

Haru's face lights up and she asks him if she can become his fiancé then. Cyrus is dumbfounded and freezes in shock.

With sparkling eyes, Haru tells Cyrus she wants to marry him.

Everyone is taken aback and speechless. Maria is no different from everyone.

Cyrus still hasn't recovered from the shock and can't utter a single word because he is overwhelmed with confusion.

Out of consideration for Cyrus, Ryou tells his sister that Cyrus can't possibly process her sudden proposal right now. She should leave him alone for now and continue the discussion another day. Haru is reluctant but she accepts.

Ryou apologizes to Cyrus for his sister's proposal and tells him they will probably come to see him another day. He also apologizes to everyone for the commotion caused by his sister.

Ryou takes his sister away. Even after they're gone, Cyrus is still confused.

Cyrus Processes Haru's Proposal

Katarina speaks to Cyrus. Cyrus is startled and slowly turns his head towards Katarina.

Cyrus is still processing what happened. He really thought Haru was his childhood friend's brother. And she is not only a girl, but she has grown into a beautiful woman.

Katarina nods to Cyrus's words. Haru is as pretty as her beautiful friends.

Cyrus is processing Haru's proposal. Katarina asks him if he isn't used to this kind of thing.

Katarina thinks Cyrus should be used to women asking him to become his fiancée. Leaving aside his issue with young women, Cyrus is a capture target, handsome, competent, the director of the Magic Research Department, a strong fighter, and a powerful magic wielder. Women probably don't leave alone. Katarina has also heard several single women in the Ministry talk about how Cyrus is wonderful and how they'd like to marry him. Cyrus is so popular, there is no way no women ever asked to marry him.

Cyrus replies there indeed were people sounding him out about the perspective of marriage but there never was anyone directly asking him to marry him. What's worse, the other party is someone he has known since childhood.

Hearing this, Katarina thinks the women approaching Cyrus probably never considered a direct approach because Cyrus looks like an intelligent person used to women. After all, no one would expect this high-specs handsome man to be uncomfortable with young women.

Cyrus panics about remembering Ryou saying he would come another day.

Maria and Cyrus

Maria shyly speaks to Cyrus, looking worried. Seeing her, Cyrus snaps out of his gloom and sharps up.

Cyrus apologizes to Maria for losing his composure despite escorting and guarding her.

Cyrus has the face of a capable superior. He must have entered work mode after remembering that he was supposed to escort and guard Maria. Or maybe he didn't want to look uncool in front of the woman he loves. Whatever it is, Katarina is glad that Cyrus has snapped out of it.

Maria tells Cyrus that it is perfectly understandable to be upset after this sudden development. Then she asks him if he shouldn't go after Haru.

Maria seems to feel concerned about Haru since she seemed upset when she left. Katarina also thinks Cyrus should go after Haru but he probably won't.

Cyrus decisively tells Maria that he is currently escorting and guarding her, so he won't go after Haru. Besides, Ryou told him they would come back another day, so he will see them then.

Katarina thinks Cyrus looked like a handsome man and not a grade-schooler when he said that. Katarina wonders if Maria felt some heart flutters. She glances at her but she doesn't seem the tiny bit charmed. 

Maria thanks Cyrus.

Maria is a beautiful, smart, and sweet girl who possesses valuable magic. And yet, no rumor goes around about her regarding a special someone or someone she is intimate with. Like Cyrus, Maria is popular at the Ministry and many single men ask Maria to go out with them or to marry them. What's more, she also has many love flags as the heroine of the game. Despite all of these, she doesn't seem to be in love at all, and the first game even ended with a friendship ending. Katarina wonders if the second game will also end with Maria not getting together with anyone.

Maria asks Katarina if something is wrong.  Katarina snaps back to reality. She seems to have been in lost thoughts thinking about Maria.

Katarina tells Maria she was just wondering what to eat next. Maria suggests they go eat the new sweets that have been added. Katarina gladly accepts.

Katarina Enjoys Herself With Her Friends

Everyone accompanies them to eat the sweets. Keith reminds Katarina not to overeat.

Everyone wonders about Geordo, so Katarina tells them he is a little sick and currently resting. She doesn't tell them about Geordo pushing himself hard because she thinks Geordo would hate it. 

Katarina enjoys herself talking with everyone around sweets for the first time in a while. But they can't talk for long since they have to greet and socialize with people because of all of their respective positions. They all promise to have a tea party together before splitting up.

Katarina and Keith Meet Cezar Again

Katarina is going around greeting people with Keith. She meets Cezar again.

Keith thanks Cezar for his help earlier. Katarina also thanks him. Cezar insists he didn't do anything special.

Cezar is in prince mode. They all talk about mundane topics, then split up to greet other people.

Katarina feels sad that Cezar kept his prince mode the whole time. She thinks he did it because Keith was there.

Katarina looks back at Cezar going away. Their eyes meet, so Cezar grins at her. Katarina grins back at him.

Cezar is also an FL2's capture target so he might have still a role. He doesn't seem to have fallen for Maria but if he does, the villainess Katarina Claes will probably be involved.

Katarina needs to be on the lookout for it, think about measures against the doom flags, and be careful of the dark magic organization. She has a lot of things to think about.

Katarina and Keith Rest in the Resting Room

Katarina is exhausted. She sinks into a chair in the resting room and stretches out her legs. She just greeted people a little but there were so many of them that it is already sunset. The party will probably end soon.

Katarina was exhausted from putting on the noble lady act for such a long time so she asked Keith to let her rest. And then, they came to the resting room.

Keith tells Katarina her posture is unladylike.

Keith has a proper posture but his face looks tired. It must be because he paid more attention to people than usual since there were many foreigners. He has been adapting the topics and greetings to each country. Keith is so amazing.

Katarina has inadvertently voiced "Keith is amazing". She can't think clearly and feels sleepy because of the exhaustion.

Keith gives Katarina a puzzled look.

Katarina drowsily tells Keith he is so amazing. He has properly studied all those countries and used this knowledge in public. 

Keith doesn't know what to say.

Katarina adds that he was so cute when he was a little but he has grown into such a cool and splendid person.

Katarina feels at ease since Keith is here. She feels more and more sleepy.

Keith notices Katarina is falling asleep and urges her not to close her eyes. But it is too late. Katarina has fallen asleep.

Fortune Lover 2 Dream

Katarina has a dream of Acchan playing FL2 again. She still doesn't know what caused it but she will be on the lookout for hints about the game.

Sora appears on Acchan's screen. Given the events of the party, Katarina expected to see Cyrus's route this time but it doesn't seem to work like that.

Sora tells Maria he will work outside today. Then, they have some kind of chat.

The scene seems peaceful and ordinary. Katarina wonders if Sora's route is the type where Sora and Maria just raise their affections inside the Ministry. Still, Katarina can't learn any hints from their casual talk. Unless there is some kind of hidden meaning in it? Katarina ponders the words but she can't figure anything out.

Sora makes a seductive move on Maria. She blushes.

Katarina has never seen this scene in reality. The actual Sora is with her most of the time and never alone with Maria. Katarina wonders if Sora sweet-talks Maria when he's alone with her. Katarina would like to see that.

A mob character tells "Sora Smith" that he will go out soon.

Katarina doesn't recognize the man, but since Sora is talking to him, he is probably a member of the Magic Tool department. But the actual Magic Tool department directed by Larna is full of weirdos and this mob character looks ordinary. The only ordinary-looking person in the department is Nathan, but it can't be him since he wouldn't have been able to go outside and meet Sora.

Sora calls the mob character "Director". 

Katarina is shocked that the director of the Magic Tool department is not Larna but this mob character.

Sora and Maria smile at each other like lovers and split up. 

Katarina is still shocked that the mob character is the director of Sora's department. Does it mean Sora doesn't work in the Magic Tool department in the game? She assumed he would but maybe things changed because of her, the "irregular"? Then what is Sora's department in the game?

Katarina briefly saw the other departments' directors when she enrolled in the Ministry. Did any of them have mob faces? Or maybe they are just drawn with mob faces in the game not to stand out and their real faces are different? In any case, what is certain is that Sora doesn't work for Larna in the game. The director may be a mob character but he is not a woman.

On the note, it was written that Sora was kept in custody at the Ministry after a certain case. Given how much of a magic otaku Larna is, it would be strange if she didn't take the new capable dark magic wielder in her department.

Katarina feels like there are more differences between the game and reality in the second game compared to the first game. She wonders why there are so many differences.

Katarina Wakes Up

Katarina hears people calling her name. She wakes up and sees Mary, Sophia, and Maria looking at her.

Katarina asks the girls what they are doing here.

Katarina remembers she dozed off while in the resting room with Keith.

Mary explains that they searched for her at the end of the party to say goodbye. Then, they heard she was resting here, so they came over. Katarina was sleeping so soundly that they couldn't bring themselves to wake her up. But since it is now time to go home, they have been calling her to wake her up.

Katarina is surprised that she has slept for so long. She thanks the girls for waking her. Then she notices Keith isn't here and asks them where he is.

Mary replies she offered Keith to continue his socializing while they watched Katarina then chased… saw him off. Now that Katarina has woken up, she will contact him so he will come back.

Katarina feels like she heard Mary say she chased Keith off. But it must be her imagination.

Katarina thanks the girls again for waking her up. Mary says it is nothing. In truth, she would have loved to carry Katarina into her own carriage and take her away but she didn't have enough arm strength. She resents her body.

The girls laugh at Mary's joke. Katarina remembers when she and the girls had silly talks like this in the academy's dorms. They haven't had the chance lately. 

Keith comes back and the girls split up to go home.

On the way to the carriage, Katarina discreetly contacts Jeffrey to know how Geordo is doing. Jeffrey tells her that Geordo is sleeping like a good boy. Katarina feels relieved.

Katarina Ponders About the Dream in the Carriage

Keith and Katarina ride in the carriage home.

Katarina thought she would fall asleep in the carriage but she doesn't feel so tired, probably because she slept in the resting room.

Katarina recalls her dream from earlier.

Katarina expected to get a dream confirming that Haru was a rival character, but she didn't. What she learned from the dream was that Larna wasn't Sora's superior in Fortune Lover 2. Even so, she doesn't know whether this information will help her avoid her doom flags.

Katarina wonders if Larna may not be in the Ministry in the first place in Fortune Lover 2. Or maybe she is, but she is not the Larna she knows. After all, the actual Larna shouldn't have been able to resist taking the dark magic wielder Sora in her department.

Katarina asks Keith why Larna is crazy about magic in the first place.

Keith replies that it is because one of her friends gave her lots of magic books as a present. He is surprised by Katarina's question because it is she who told him in the first place. Katarina indeed remembers telling Keith after his kidnapping incident.

As a child, Larna found her life tedious until a certain person gave her many magic books as a present. It is because of the influence of that person that Larna is how she is today. In other words, the current Larna wouldn't be here without this person. 

There may have been other causes, but for now, Katarina decides she will ask Larna about the person and the circumstances of her enrollment in the Ministry. Once she gets a grasp on this, she may be able to understand the differences between the game and the current reality. She needs to investigate any details since she hasn't played the game. After all, she doesn't know what could be connected to her doom.

The carriage arrives at the Claes's house. Katarina changes clothes but she is overcome by sleepiness and falls asleep.

Geordo's POV

Someone knocks on Geordo's door. Geordo invites the person to come in. It is Jeffrey, Geordo frowns.

Geordo remembers Jeffrey told him misleading information a few days ago, which led him to do something wrong to Katarina. He wouldn't like it if Jeffrey realized he had been worrying about it, so he puts on a facade like always.

Jeffrey asks Geordo how he is feeling.

Geordo shows him a fake smile and tells him he feels better after resting. He is fine now.

Jeffrey has doubts about it. He moves towards Geordo and puts a hand on his forehead. Jeffrey frowns.

Jeffrey tells Geordo that he is not "fine". His fever hasn't decreased at all, so he must properly rest tomorrow too. Geordo protests: he only needs to rest a little and his fever will decrease.

Geordo is aware that he has a high fever but he knows from experience that he will heal after a night of sleep. After all, he had to manage his health ever since childhood.

His parents didn't look back at him because things were difficult after his father had taken the throne from his many half-siblings, and also because Alan had a weak constitution as a child.

His older brothers were also both taken into custody by relatives after his father's ascension to the throne, so he couldn't interact with them. As a result, he had no family around him as a child.

Now that he has grown up, he understands that this situation couldn't be helped, but as a child, he couldn't understand it. There were days when he cried because of it. Still, he knew that his servants were troubled whenever he cried or was sick, so he conducted himself so they wouldn't see him cry or notice he was sick. He hid his plain face behind a smiling mask so people wouldn't see his weaknesses, and just lived aimlessly in this insipid grey world.

Until he met Katarina.

Jeffrey sighs over Geordo's stubbornness. Geordo can probably convince anyone when he talks like that. But Jeffrey was told by a certain source that Geordo always says he is fine and pushes himself hard and they advised him to make Geordo rest properly. Because of this, Jeffrey won't simply do as Geordo tells him.

Geordo asks Jeffrey who his source is. He can imagine who it is, but he still asks. Jeffrey confirms that it is Katarina.

So far, Geordo's servants never noticed it whenever he was sick. He would deceive them with his perfect smiling mask like always.

But a little while after meeting Katarina, there was a time when he was sick while visiting her. He was hiding it behind a smile like always because it was a pain to show it, but Katarina noticed it. Geordo was very surprised at that time because he thought Katarina was dense. And then, she greatly worried about him. He felt very shaken about it because it was the first time someone worried about him.

Later on, Katarina would instantly notice whenever something was wrong with his body (despite not noticing his feelings at all). It would happen again and again, so it became a bother to keep up appearance and he started to show his natural side to her. Even though he wasn't perfect and had bad sides, Katarina still interacted with him the same way as always.

To this day, Geordo still often uses his smiling mask because he doesn't want to show his weaknesses to others. But Katarina alone will never deceive him. When Katarina is involved, before he knows it, he becomes unable to control his emotions even in front of others. Even so, he has come to think that it wasn't such a bad thing.

Katarina changed his world, and by doing so, changed him.

Geordo doesn't want to lose Katarina. Even if his rival is a foreign royal way more composed and mature than him, he doesn't want to lose to him. And he will not let a mysterious and suspicious group harm her.

It was these very thoughts that made him desperate and then sick. Geordo feels pathetic.

Jeffrey can tell that Katarina is someone irreplaceable to Geordo. And it is exactly why Geordo shouldn't push himself hard and end up sick. Katarina was worried after all. If he cares about her, then he should properly rest and show her that he is well.

Jeffrey strokes Geordo's head as if he were a kid.

Geordo has mixed feelings about this, but for the time being, he decides to rest properly.

Is it just me, or does Sorcier and Hamefura's world seem pretty small compared to ours? It takes less time to travel from country to another, and I doubt Sorcier's population is much higher than like 3 million.

So the Hamefura world is probably like 100~200 million people at most. What do you think?

Well, considering the Hamefura setting has this vaguely middle ages european aesthetic (or so Catarina says), my theory is that the known world to Catarina is way smaller than the actual world, similar to Europeans in the middle ages where they mostly only knew Africa (not completely) and west Asia existed.

Of course Catarina's world could just be Mercury sized but we do know that Sorcier as a whole doesn't have the knowledge of where's every country (iirc they lost the knowledge of where Mutrac was?) so I'm guessing it's just that the people narrating don't have all the information for us to know how big is their world and as far as I know we don't have a word-of-god map of Hamefura's world.

Now about Sorcier: From the capital to at least two of it's borders there's at most 150 km of distance (3 days of horse drawn carriage travel covers 150km if we are being optimistic which is how much it usually takes from the capital to Xiarmah and to the sea). Depending on the shape and location of the capital of Sorcier this could mean literally anything (could be like Chile which on average is like 300km horizontally and 4000km vertically) but if we assume the capital is on the center of Sorcier and Sorcier itself is fairly round or squarish, this means it's about 300km wide and 300km tall, making it cover about 90.000km2 total.

This makes it a little bit smaller than Hungary or Portugal which are pretty average European countries in terms of size.

Population wise I'd wager that world is about the same than the late middle ages, so about 400 million people. I agree with you about Sorcier's population, Hungary had like 2 million in the middle ages and considering Sorcier is pretty advanced in terms of how well cared for are the people in there I'm guessing it has a way lower mortality rate.

When Katarina dies,(natural causes or by other means) what happens to Pochi? Is he able to become someone else’s familiar? Or can he become an independent animal?

Hello! Wow, this is the first time someone has asked me questions, I am so happy...

Anyway, some theories about it? Hmm... since I mostly focus on their romantic relationship, so I can only provide things related to it.

I recently found out that the two that have confessed to Catarina actually confessed to her at the place they began to in love with her. Just like Geordo confessed to her in the fields, and Keith confessed to her in his room. So if we have chances to see other people confess to her, maybe they will confess at the same kind of places?

As for the next novel, We know that Cezar is still at Sorcier, so maybe he will follow Catarina to the Ministry and meet her colleagues there?

Karin Adeth - Kai Adeth's younger sister. A spirited and kind young woman, always willing to help others. She loved and admired her older brother, but was not above teasing and annoying him. Karin was actually a childhood friend of the former King, but she died under “mysterious” circumstances after she rejected his marriage proposal. Her Wind Magic was weak, but she had a natural affinity for the Dark Element. She resembles Millidiana and Katarina.

Sheena the Priestess of Darkness - A Natural-Born Dark Mage from long ago, blessed by Fenris, the Spirit of Darkness. Although he could seem terrifying and even villainous, she was actually a very kind and charismatic person- though she was dense to others having romantic feelings for her. She died casting a powerful spell that resulted in Natural-Born Dark Mages no longer being born, though her descendants still have an affinity to the element. Stories say that she married a demon. Her child is the progenitor of the Adeth family. Looks a lot like Katarina.

Julius Stuart - an older half-brother of King Owen Stuart, father of Cassius Stuart. He was a very intelligent but un-ambitious person that was never interested in power for himself, but was very submissive to the wills of others. Participated in the fight for the throne at his wife’s urging but it costed him his lie; wouldn’t have been an effective king even if he had won. He had fore magic and was decently skilled at wielding it. He had silver hair and resembles King Owen a bit. 

Avidia Stuart (née Hadrian) - Cassius Stuart's mother, wife of Julius Stuart, their marriage was political. She is greedy, arrogant, and power-hungry; pushed her husband to fight for the throne leading to his death. She was forced to escape to her home country of Lousabre with her newborn son, and has filled Cassius head with the idea that he should be king. Rather beautiful with striking black hair and green eyes.

Gaius Hadrian - Lousabre nobility with the rank of viscount, Cassius Stuart's maternal cousin. He is very intelligent and loves to push around those he sees as beneath himself; he greedy but also a spineless coward, following the lead of Avidia and Cassius. Tall with dark hair and green eyes.

Gaspard Lafitte - The Headmaster of the Academy of Magic. Seemingly a very serious man, he is actually very kind and cares a lot for his students. He was friends with Kai Adeth and secretly harbored feelings for him. Is very fond of Katarina and allowed her to make a farm on school grounds - he has seen worst. His Earth Magic is weak but has has invented creative ways to use it and is willing to teach them to others. Tall and surprisingly fit, with hair that is mostly gray (it used to be golden brown), scholarly beard and mustache, and light brown eyes.

Decided to give a name to this professor:

Warren Lambert - the Magic Theory Professor; he is the younger brother of Marquis Norman Lambert, making him Phoebe Lambert's uncle. He takes his job as a teacher very seriously, and expects his students to do the same with their studies. Despite this, he is happy to help his students and to give them advice if asked. Is very fond of his niece but will not go easy on her in classes. As shown in canon, his magic element is wind and he is rather skilled at wielding it.

Viorel Vinet - eldest child and heir of the Vinet family, Violetta Vinet's older brother. He appears to be charming and polite, but is secretly, a violent thug with a nasty temper. Most of those on the receiving end of it are servants and commoners, but he would attack another noble if he gets angry enough. He is actually very doting towards his little sister Violetta, who would be willing to use his nasty temper to her advantage. His father covers for his behaviour but has considered disinheriting him and the only reason he hasn't done it yet is because he fears how Viorel would react. A talented sword-wielder and powerful Water Mage. Very tall, resembles his sister, with brown hair and dark eyes.

Celia Godwin - the Second Princess of Etran, fifth and youngest child, related to Estella, the Dowager Queen of Sorcier. She is arrogant and manipulative, but has an inferiority complex due to being a “spare child,” so she seeks to become the Queen of another kingdom by any means necessary. She currently has her eyes on the four Princes of Sorciers, uncaring that they are engaged. Extremely beautiful with platinum blonde hair and golden eyes.

Isaiah Bates - a farmer. He is hardworking, content with his life, and will give aid to anyone who needs it. Utterly devoted to his wife, fatherly to his sons and to any young person. Old enough to have adult children. Fit body, gray hair and beard, grayish-blue eyes.

Debi Bates - Isaiah Bates' wife. She content with her life, strong-willed, devoted to her husband, the one with the most common sense in her family, motherly to her sons but strict when necessary. Amazing baker of prize-winning pies. Old enough to have adult children. Gray hair with hints of brown and brown eyes.

Sheard and Maher Bates - sons of Isaian and Debi Bates; they are as hardworking and dependable as their father. Maher sometimes says or do stupid things or has dumb ideas and needs his big brother or mother to smack some sense into him but his heart is in the right place. Both have dark hair, Sheard has brown eyes and resembles his father, while Maher has grayish-blue eyes and rese,bels his mother.

Brant Glaive - the Crown Prince of Lousabre. He is spoiled, cocky, and arrogant; as well as a womanizer and sadistic. He considers his country the strongest and secretly wishes to conquer his neighbour, especially Sorcier. His father, the King of Lousabre, is seriously considering stripping him of his status of heir but Brant has the support of many powerful (and corrupt) nobles - including the Hadrian family. He is quite skilled ij the art of the sword. He is very handsome with brilliant blond hair and brown eyes that look red in certain lighting.

Agnar Glaive - the Second Prince of Lousabre, Brant Glaive’s younger brother. Kinder and humbler than his older brother, Agnar wishes to improve his country, especially their crime-rate. Although he is a very talented sword-fighter (even better than his brother), he is more interested in diplomacy. Handsome, bright blond hair and warm brown eyes.

These are just some extra characters I created in case a random student is needed. Some aren’t very developed as they are more “filling a role when needed” characters.

Nicol and Raphael's year

Célestin Lémieux - the heir of a ducal house, his family has similar power to the Claes, Adeth, and Burke families. He has strong Water Magic and is very proficient at wielding it. He has a big ego and not very close to his younger brothers. Has eyes that are as blue as a lake, a distinctive trait in his family.

Lawrence Townsend - the youngest son of a baronial house, has average Wind Magic, his family rules over a town. He is a well-mannered, pleasant man towards everybody; although he sometimes gets bullied because of his family’s low rank, he doesn’t seek confrontation - though won’t object to his tormentors receiving just punishment. He likes to study and sketch birds, and has a crush on Nicol Ascart.

Elbert Yardley - the second son of a marquis house, is decently strong Earth Magic. He is Lawrence Townsend’s best friend and always tries to defend him from bullies. Admires his older brother and is very doting towards his younger brother. He likes is a skilled horse-rider and loves racing.

Beatrice Reeves - daughter of a viscount house with average Water Magic. Members of her family often work as lawyers or judges.

Hortense Farrow - eldest child and heir of a barony, has Earth Magic the region her family rules over is well-known for their ore mines and ironworks. Has an engagement of convenience with Dorothéo Fabron due to their families often doing business together.

Amedea Scutari - an above average Wind Mage, her father was a knight who was granted the title of lord by the king for supporting him in the succession fight. Best friend of Hortense Farrow.

Katarina's year

Corentin Lémieux - second son of a ducal house, Célestin's younger brother, has strong Water Magic. The nicest of the Lémieux brothers, loves magical creatures and wants to join the Ministry to study them. He is engaged to Adélard Gagné and they get along well.

Herbert Yardley - the youngest son of a marquis house, Elbert Yardley's younger brother, has average Earth Magic. Quiet and shy, absolutely looks up to his older brother.

Horace Farrow - son of a baronial house, Hortense Farrow's younger brother, has average Earth Magic. Interested in metalworking and blacksmithing.

Dorothéo Fabron - son of a count/earl house, he has Earth Magic. His family does business with the Farrow family for the ore in their territory. He is engaged to Hortense Farrow.

Adélard Gagné - eldest daughter of a marquis house and has decently strong Water Magic. Engaged to Corentin Lémieux and they get along well.

Fray and Ginger's year

Constantin Lémieux - the youngest son of the Lémieus ducal house, Célestin and Corentin's younger brother, he has strong Water Magic. Inferiority complex due to being the third son, desires to become the head of a powerful house.

Claude Fabron - count/earl house, Dorothéo Fabron's younger brother, he has Earth Magic. His family does business with the Farrow family for the ore in their territory. He has a tense relationship with his older brother. Constantin Lémieux’s “friend.”

Armand Jourdain - count/earl house, has Wind Magic. He is handsome and a talented flute player, though he is arrogant due to the admiration he receives. Constantly flirts with women and gets upset if they don’t fawn over him. Constantin Lémieux’s “friend.”

Adéle Gagne - marquis house, has water magic. She has a huge crush on Prince Alan that borders on obsession, she considers Mary he rival and always trying to one up her, unsuccessfully.

Clotilde Lavigne - baron house, weak Earth Magic, related to the Vinet family. A kind but shy and quiet girl who loves animals. Very skilled horse-rider, can ride astride and side-saddle.

Enid Gethin - viscount house, Wind Magic. A headstrong and confident girl, knows the rules of noble society but does not approve of those who lord their statis over others. Distrustful of nobles of higher ranks until meeting Katarina and her friends. Her best friend is Clotilde Lavigne.

Extra Knights

Extra knights in case they are need to fill in. Not all of them have detailed backstories, making them flexible characters to fill in as needed.

Royal Knights

Dame Edith Covington - the daughter of farmers and best friend of Isadora Alarie. Serious when on duty, energetic and friendly off-duty. While good with a sword, her true talent is spear wielding. Usually part of Prince Geoffrey’s security detail.

Dame Janine Arc - descendant of legendary knights. Skilled fighter but her true talent is strategy. Friends with Isadora Alarie and Edith Covington. Name’s a reference to Joan of Arc. Usually part of Prince Ian’s security detail.

Sir Craig Walsh - son of a minor noble family of foreign ancestry, has Earth Magic. Usually part of Alan’s security detail.

Sir Mathis Tremble - son of miners, typical noble and loyal knight, usually part of Prince Geordo’s security detail. Amused by the antics Katarina drags Prince Geordo into.

Sir Bernardo Fuertes - son of foreigners who moved to Sorcier after King Owen took the throne. Usually part of Prince Geordo’s security detail.

Other Knights

Dame Lynn Wren - a knight serving the Hunt Family, daughter of a minor noble family indebted to the Hunts. Aware and unfazed by Lady Mary’s schemes.

Sir Galahad DuLac - son a a knight, serves the Ascart Family. Has fairytale knight vibes, according to Sophia and Katarina.

Sir Ashton Stock - looks like a fairytale knight but is secretly cruel and sadistic. I don’t give him a specific house to serve to have more flexibility in using this character.

A lot of the stuff from my "Fray is gonna be Nicol’s future fiancee” theory here is backed up by the fact that I believe that Fray and Suzanna are sisters. Since Fray is given relevance in the second season of the anime, I thought it’d be a nice to talk separate some parts of the theory into it’s own post, because I love talking about Ginger and Fray (and I wanna say it before the anime or any official material does lmao)

Most people who follow me would probably be annoyed about the fact that I won’t stop talking about this, and new followers would probably tell me that it’s kinda obvious. 

And to that I reply with “Shut up, let me have this!! it used to be so hard to defend this theory when Fray didn’t have a visual yet!! People usually dismissed me when I talked about this so let me have my moment!!”

Also not even the japanese hamefura wiki considered it until I spoke about it on pixiv so (shrug emoji). I’m sure it’ll be confirmed or de-confirmed once Ginger’s web novel chapter gets adapted in a few weeks, so let me relish in this old discovery of mine while I still can!! :’’(( Once the episode airs you’ll never hear about this from me ever again lmao

(This isn’t anime spoilers technically, unless the anime really does cover the web novel chapter)

Fray and Suzanna has the same last name. People who watch the anime now won’t get why this is such a big point, but I just could never get over the fact that Fray’s last name in the light novels is “Landoor”, even though it is written in the same kanji as Suzanna’s last name (ランドール). Suzanna already appeared in two volumes prior to Volume 6 (Fray’s formal debut) so it’s not like the translator had never seen the name before.

Same dark blue eyes and black hair. It’s really obvious now that the anime has given Fray an official appearance, but yeah even back then in the light novels Suzanna and Fray are unique because they are both the only characters with black hair and blue eyes. 

Both have a fixation for “interesting” things. In Ginger’s web novel chapter, Fray says that she hangs out with Ginger because she is “interesting”. Suzanna has a fixation on Katarina because she is “interesting”. Technically, Fray was created much earlier than Suzanna was, so it’s just neat to know that it’s all been planned from the beginning.

As of right now (S2 EP3), we have no formal confirmation that they are sibling, but we do have confirmation that Suzanna *has* siblings.

In Suzanna’s POV from the Satoru Yamaguti Bonus SS “The First Prince and his Fiancée”, she mentions that she has a little sister who she rants to. I honestly didn’t even notice it the first time I was reading the special chapter. 

Circling back for a second on my Nicol-Fray theory, it actually helps prove that Nicol’s Lady from Volume 5 really is Fray: Suzanna mentions that her parents are very disapproving of her studying magic, and Nicol’s Lady mentioned the same thing. Volume 3 and 4 only really implied that the Randalls are disapproving of studying magic, but Satoru Yamaguchi’s bonus chapter outright confirms it, which I’m so happy about :DD

If you combine all the details in my Nicol-Fray theory and this Suzanna-Fray theory, everything kinda just pieces itself together in my opinion. Things like Nicol’s Lady (likely to be Fray) loving magic, and wanting to join the ministry to be just like her idol Lana. Even quirks like having a mature aura, doesn’t want to get married and is a very independent person. 

Nicol’s Lady is similar to Fray, who is similar to Suzanna.

Anyways, this has been bugging my mind since last year, and I’m so happy that I’ll get closure once the anime confirms (or de-confirms) Fray and Suzanna’s relationship. I love Fray and Ginger, I’ve liked them ever since I discovered the webnovel extra chapters and I’m so happy that the anime (and potentially Volume 11) will give them the spotlight i’ve always yearned for them to have.

Guess what I’ve been watching

(Spoilers for episodes 1-4 I guess. I have not read the light novels please have mercy and no spoilers for the novels pls.)

 And while I’ve been watching Hamefura, I had some thoughts.You know how in episode three, there’s this part where Sophia says she forgot a book she wanted to lend Catarina in her room? Catarina had a flashback to her past life where a similar situation occurred, and I immediately thought: What if everyone (Or at least the main cast) in the games’ universe is someone from Catarina’s past life reincarnated? Because everything Catarina recalls from her past life tends to be an important bit of info. The first time was when she realized she was reborn as the villainess, then when she remembered how to climb trees and challenged Allan to tree climbing, which was a huge catalyst for their relationship. There was also the time she remembered what her friend, “A-Chan” said about Noah’s route, which helped her child self attempt to avoid THAT doom flag. Remember A-Chan, she's going to be important.

Then Maria enters the picture.

 With Geordo disinterested in her, Keith not hitting on her and Allan not threatened by her, it looked like Maria had no routes to go.

 Enter Catarina.

 This Catarina is not the games' Catarina. This Catarina is the girl reincarnated as Fortune Lover's villainess trying her darned best to survive. When she’s with the rest of the cast, she's like an oblivious harem anime protagonist, but when she's with Maria... It's almost like she's a conquerable route. And the way she was the one to do Geordo's event, which was mentioned to be something that really advanced their relationship, makes me think that due to Catarina's tampering, this "game" now has a route for the villainess. And it may be one, of many more new, different ones. Maria definitely seems to be playing this Catarina route. And Catarina is falling. HARD.

 This actually reminds me of an otome game "Seduce Me: The Otome", because it had a route for it's villainess, Diana. I actually played her route first on acident kejhdbke. It seems like Catarina is becoming the same.

 Okay.

 So remember A-Chan, and how in episode 3, "Catarina" remembered her twice? (Maybe once if she had two different friends.) We've seen her twice, if not three times. A-Chan, -which is probably her nickname- has straight long brown hair and brown eyes. From what we saw from her past life flashbacks, "Catarina" had short, fluffy black hair.

Think back to the intro.

To the ending of it.

 It had two girls in a school uniform, one with long brown hair, and one with short fluffy hair holding hands and looking at a sunset/rise on a beach togther. That could be A-Chan and "Catarina". Also, A-Chan had straight brown hair and now "Catarina" has straight brown hair in her second life. Now Maria-who I theorize to be A-Chan-has short fluffy hair, like "Catarina" had in her past life.If it is A-Chan and “Catarina”, the intro really seems to be implying that they're going to be together in one way or another. Like it was the main pairing in Catarina's past life. What about the main pairing in Catarina's current life? The anime really seems to be pushing the idea that Catarina and Maria are going to be the main thing. And if Catarina is "Catarina", then is it so far of a stretch to say that Maria is "A-Chan"?

 Remember how I brought up the book incident with sophia? It is not specified what the friend's name was, but if it isn't A-Chan, who could it be? If Sophia is indeed a different friend, then it could mean more people from "Catarina's" life ended up reborn into the world of Fortune Lover? To sum this all up, I think it's possible that the main cast of Fortune Lover are all reincarnations of people from Catarina's past life, or at least not the "conquerable" characters. It's too early to say yet but I've had this thought for a very long time.

What if she's

In a coma.

What if this is

Just a dream.

 It's overused, it's cliche, but it makes sense. Catarina never mentions having any love interests during the time she was alive, but the intro felt it was important to have (supposedly) Her and A-Chan (or some other girl) holding hands near the end. Maybe Maria is like A-Chan for Catarina, and this "Dream" helps her to realize her feelings.Maybe, when she wakes up, she'll confess to A-Chan and they'll go to a beach for some reason like "The sea air will do her good", and they look at the sun go down/rise together...

 Or maybe I'm wildly wrong and I can see you light novel readers laughing your butts off. Don't judge pls I am just throwing idea’s around They're just random thoughts.

Do I got theories? What are they?

For theories, I have a few, but honestly not that many, they're more like, 'Headcanons/cool things that I want to have happen in the future!' Like Pochi turning into a dragon, or super large menacing-looking wolffo! Cool stuff, but they're not too likely to happen.

Oh! Actually, here's one that I highly support and remember thinking about!

The person that educated Sora is reincarnated, and might not even be dead!

I thought I came up with this theory by myself, but another, much more eloquent user actually put the theory into words, and even came up with more reasons than I initially had!

More opinionated stuff, under the cut~

Logically, in terms of who would work best from an actual endgame marriage standpoint, it's obviously Maria. Katarina canonically simps for her to long lengths in the novel. And, while Katarina being friends has helped everyone in some way, I'd argue that she helped Maria out the most in such a (relatively) small amount of time.

As for who I want Katarina to end up with, for personal reasons, it's 100% Mary! This doesn't necessarily mean that I think she's the best actual option for Kat, and is just something that I would personally like to see more of.

She helped mend the gap between Maria's mom and her, and helped with a lot of Maria's emotional issues in what was approximately a month.

"But she did similar things for Alan and Geordo's relationship!" I hear non-existent debaters shout.

Well, yes, HOWEVER! Maria constantly makes Katarina want to do her best with how incredibly hard she works. Maria makes Katarina want to be a better person, and that's what a very healthy relationship should make someone want to do.

I'm terms of who I think the author is trying to veer to, I think that they have a lot of partiality to Geordo and Maria. However, I'm more-or-less hoping at the end goal is the:

Poly/Harem Route - it's the easiest way to satisfy everyone (or maybe just me, since I feel like I'm the only one actually fine with things staying in stasis-mode).

With HameFura I have confidence it could actually be pulled off relatively well! Most of the members in the current lineup aren't very aggressive to one-another.

Mary might want to have Katarina all to herself, but she has an adorable friendship with the two other girls. Even though she mostly seems like a dog owner to Alan, she does legitimately care about him, too (as is stated in her pov). She doesn't take any of her schemes too far, and the only ambitious one is just taking Katarina to another country. No murder, or insulting, or nasty gossip and rumor spreading of the others vying for Katarina.

The only ones that might have issues are Keith and Geordo, who butt heads a lot already, and honestly, I'm not entirely sure it would simmer down if a poly-harem route happened.

Even so, though, I believe it was stated that no matter who Katarina chooses in the end, they would respect her wishes. So I'm sure no real harm would come if Kat opted for it.

So! For personal reasons, it's Mary, the one I actually think would be best for Kata would be Maria, I think the author is aiming or either a Geordo or harem route, and ideally, since I'm sad about changing dynamics and the possibility of less screen time and interactions between the main cast (because I have an unfortunate soft-spot for all of them, sadly) I'd like the harem/poly ending.

Oh, uhhh, if you wanted me to say who I think Kata should get with in terms of guys, btw, my immediate answer is Alan. Their relationship is so dang wholesome, and unlike Geordo or (at times, Keith), Katarina feels wholly comfortable around Alan.

Fun fact because I love it btw: Alan was the first route Katarina cleared in Fortune Lover!

Sarah was very... difficult for her appearances. It's almost like trying to catch a butterfly because they're not flutter-flapping in a straight. Line!

Next up: Kata's secret!

The volumes tend to be a bit of a slow-burn for most of them, and I think I can safely say that Sarah didn't appear in 13 (as far as I've read from translated summaries anyway).

She first appeared in Vol. 4, then it's not until 11 when we hear from her, in 12 she gets a bit more focus, but since she doesn't show up in 13 (from what I can tell). So I think best-case senerio is that I missed her and she is in vol 13. If not, then I expect her to not show until 15-17

a continuation of the possibly reincarnated brother plot

some development regarding "the dark thing in Geordo's heart". Especially if Geordo is banned from the Claes house.

Katarina is forcefully invited to the organization

more development regarding Sarah (and maybe Raphael?) since Sarah acted weird during LN13
