What Makes a Benefits Plan Flexible?
In today’s dynamic workforce, a flexible benefit plan is increasingly important for attracting and retaining talent. Such plans are tailored to meet the diverse needs of employees, offering them the freedom to choose benefits that best suit their circumstances. Understanding what makes a benefits plan flexible is key for both employers looking to implement such plans and employees seeking to maximize their benefits.
Customization and Choice
The cornerstone of a flexible benefits plan is the ability to customize. Unlike traditional benefits packages, which offer a one-size-fits-all solution, flexible plans provide a variety of options that employees can choose from based on their unique needs. This could include a range of health insurance plans, the ability to opt into or out of certain coverages or the choice between different levels of coverage.
Employees might prioritize different aspects of a benefits plan based on their life stage and personal situation. For example, a younger employee might prefer more comprehensive health coverage and wellness programs, while someone nearing retirement might value higher contributions to a retirement plan. Flexible benefit plans acknowledge and cater to these varying preferences, making them more relevant and valuable to a diverse workforce.
Adaptability Over Time
Another key aspect of a flexible benefits plan is its adaptability over time. Employees’ needs and circumstances change, and a flexible plan should be able to adjust accordingly. For instance, the birth of a child, a marriage or a significant health change might shift an employee’s benefits needs. Flexible plans often allow for changes to be made not only during annual enrollment periods but also during significant life events.
In conclusion, a flexible benefit plan stands out due to its emphasis on customization and adaptability. By offering a variety of choices and the ability to adjust benefits over time, these plans can meet the unique and changing needs of a diverse workforce. For employers, implementing a flexible benefits plan can be a strategic move toward creating a more satisfied, engaged and productive workforce.

Trapped Family in Gaza Appeals for Help to Survive 🕊️🇵🇸🙏
I Samer Abu Ras, am reaching out to you with a heartfelt humanitarian appeal, after the ongoing war in Gaza has cast its dark shadow over my life and the lives of my family. Our lives were once filled with peace and stability before the onset of this catastrophe, but now, we find ourselves living in a situation described as nothing short of tragic.

My wife, Shurooq, our three children, and I are now homeless, without a source of income, and without hope for the future. My family and I have lost our businesses and our home due to the war, and we now have nothing left but the cold streets and troubled hearts.
Tumblr media
My children are suffering greatly as a result of these horrific events. They have lost the security and stability they once enjoyed and are now facing new health and psychological challenges that threaten their lives. As a father and husband, I feel powerless in my ability to provide adequate protection and care for them.
Tumblr media
My child, who is a year and a half old, is experiencing hardships far beyond his tender age. Since the war broke out, we had to flee our home and seek refuge in a tent in a displacement camp. My child lives in extremely difficult conditions, deprived of safety and stability. The tent does not provide adequate protection from harsh weather, and food and medicine are scarce. My child suffers from malnutrition and illness, lacking basic healthcare. He cannot play or grow in a healthy and suitable environment. My only dream is to see him grow up in a safe place full of opportunities
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the face of difficult circumstances, Samer Abu Ras and his family find themselves facing serious challenges in their daily lives. They reside in a modest tent lacking comfort and security, suffering from a shortage of clean water and food, and encountering difficulties in accessing necessary healthcare. Despite these challenges, they continue to express hope and resilience in confronting adversity, holding onto hope for a better tomorrow and a return to a more stable and secure life.
Tumblr media
I appeal to you today, dear friends, to extend to me a helping hand in escaping this hell. Regardless of the size of the donation, every drop of generosity will contribute to alleviating our suffering and rebuilding our lives anew.

We need your help to secure the funds necessary to travel away from these destructive wars and seek a safe and stable environment where we can build a better future for our children
Let us stand together in these difficult times and let hope triumph over despair by providing support and assistance to those in dire need. Let us be part of the solution and build a better future for ourselves and future generations.
Thank you for listening and for the potential generosity of your giving, and for your generous donations that will change the lives of my family for the better.
With sincere gratitude and appreciation

4 Benefits of Group Health Insurance
When you get employer-sponsored healthcare through your job, you're likely signing up for group insurance. These plans provide coverage to several members of an organization. Typically, 70 percent of a company's workforce must participate for the group plan to remain valid.
Fortunately, getting 70 percent of employees to opt-in isn't a problem for most organizations. Around 50 percent of all Americans are part of a group health insurance plan. When you look at the benefits this type of insurance provides, it's not hard to see why.
Lower Premiums
The biggest perk of having group insurance is that you can enjoy lower premiums. Health insurance is one of the most significant employer perks available. With healthcare costs increasing, many people turn to employer-sponsored plans to reduce costs.
Typically, beneficiaries split premium costs with employers. Companies offering group insurance plans get favorable tax benefits, incentivizing them to provide great plan options. Therefore, the arrangement is mutually beneficial, making healthcare coverage far more affordable for employees than individual plans.
Extended Coverage for Family
Group insurance doesn't just apply to the employee. Many plans provide the option to extend coverage to dependents. That means employees and their entire families get affordable healthcare coverage.
Broader Networks
One lesser-known benefit of group insurance is broader coverage. When you get individual insurance, you may have a small network of providers to choose from when getting medical care. That's not the case with group plans.
The networks are large, giving you more options and possibly providing coverage when traveling to other states.
Reduced Overall Costs
We already know that group insurance results in lower premiums. However, it doesn't stop there. The entire insurance package tends to be more affordable when it applies to a larger group of individuals versus one person.
From an insurer's perspective, group plans are better for risk management. The risks spread across a pool of insured employees. Insurance companies know more about who they're covering, making assessing risk and controlling costs easier. The result is more affordable coverage without sacrificing network size or quality of benefits.

Away from wars, After losing all means of life in Gaza and everything I own, The only hope i have is your support so that I can get my family out of Gaza as quickly as possible to save my family again outside the Gaza Strip in peace.

Help Mohammed and Enas and their four wonderful children reach safety!!
Folks, I am so excited to tell you that since I last posted about the Alanqer family, your collective efforts have seen another €4619 raised for their GFM campaign!!!!! 💖
They are currently at €30,159 of their €38,000 target.
Only €7841 left to go!!! Guys, they are inching closer and closer!! You might think your donation of €5, €10, €20, might not do much, but I promise you it all adds up -- you could help save their lives.
This campaign has been vetted by multiple sources, including nabulsi and 90-ghost and is listed as #174 on el-shab-hussien's list. You'll notice the reblogs are from Mohammed's old account -> like so many families lately, their previous account was unfairly suspended.
You can help by following them here instead: @mohammedalanqer
And of course, by sharing and donating!!!!! ✨✨✨✨
I'd really encourage you to take the time to read their story and get to know them -- this family is showing an incredible amount of courage and grace right now, and with your help, you can directly contribute to their safety, peace, health, and happiness 💖
I am rooting for you, Alanqer family! Please stay safe 🌻
If you cannot donate right now, then don't forget to share!!

,🆘dont skip please save my family from the genocide🆘
I will take amoment of your time
My name is Shadi Issa. I am married and a father of three children: Tia (6 years old), Ibrahim (4 years old), and Sand (1.5 years old). We currently live in Deir al-Balah, located in central Gaza, after being forced to flee from northern Gaza where we previously lived in Beit Lahia. We, along with over a million other Palestinians, had to relocate to the southern part of Gaza, specifically to Rafah, where we experienced a period of relative stability until the outbreak of the conflict.
Before the war, I worked as an accountant and we enjoyed a peaceful and stable life in our home, which comprised five residential apartments occupied by my extended family and me. We had access to amenities such as a water well and a solar power system, and we cultivated olive trees on our land. Our lives were proceeding normally, and my children were about to start the school year, until the fateful day of October 7, 2023, when the war erupted, turning our lives into a living nightmare. Our home was bombed, destroying our dreams and future.
Our displacement journey began amidst the bombing and danger, leading us to makeshift shelters lacking basic necessities. We face daily struggles to find drinking water, which is often unsuitable for use. We currently live in a tent no larger than five square meters, which offers no protection from the summer heat or winter cold, and provides no defense against insects, scorpions, and snakes, which have impacted the health of our children.
We have endured immense pain and fear, witnessing death repeatedly. The situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate, and all escape routes are blocked. Returning to northern Gaza is prohibited due to security barriers. After seven months in Rafah, where we faced further bombing and losses, we moved to Deir al-Balah in central Gaza, where we lost all our belongings.
Escaping Gaza to Egypt is not easy and requires significant funds to cover travel costs and other fees. The estimated cost is $5,000 per adult and $2,500 per child. The funds will be used to cover travel expenses and basic living costs in Egypt until we can rebuild our lives away from the ongoing conflict.
We are currently living in an extremely cramped tent, and we have lost everything we once had. I kindly ask for your assistance in raising $20,000, which will enable us to escape to Egypt, where we can be safe and start a new life, and where our children can attend school and have a chance at a normal life.
Any contribution, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated and will help save our lives. We urge you to support us and help us in this critical time.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

Tips on How to Spend Your FSA So You Don't Lose It
If you have a flexible spending account, you only have a finite amount of time to use the funds you contribute. While employers can provide grace periods and rollover options, these accounts are often "use it or lose it."
Fortunately, there are many ways to spend your FSA before that expiration date hits! But how do FSAs work, and what can you use your funds on?
How Do FSAs Work?
An FSA is an employer-sponsored benefit allowing employees to contribute pre-tax dollars with every paycheck for qualified medical expenses. There's an annual limit to how much money you can put into your account, and you can only use the funds to pay for costs outlined by the IRS.
Furthermore, those funds typically expire at the end of the year. If you don't spend them, they go back to your employer.
Spending Your FSA Funds
Spending your FSA is usually easy if you have doctor appointments, prescription medications, dental care and other services throughout the year. But if you rarely use it, you might scramble at the end of the year to avoid losing your contributions.
Here are a few ideas on what you can use leftover FSA funds for at the end of the year.
Stock Up on Essentials
Did you know you can use your FSA to buy over-the-counter products? Headache medicine, pain relievers, decongestants, antacids, menstrual products and more all count as qualified medical expenses.
Why not stock up? You can spend that last bit on products you'll likely use next year, ensuring you never run out.
Buy New Sunglasses
You can also use your FSA to pay for optometry services and products. If you have prescription lenses, consider buying a new pair of sunglasses. Pick up a new stylish pair you can use when summer rolls around!
Try a New Service
FSAs cover all your typical healthcare services like doctor's visits and specialist care. However, you can also use those funds on less traditional services like acupuncture or chiropractic services.
Try those services if you have aches and pains. It's a great way to use up your FSA funds while seeing if you like the experience.

Update - July 23
Unfortunately, I regret to inform you that my Twitter account, where I used to share my daily struggles and life in a tent that nearly burns me from the intense heat, has been closed. Now, I am unable to spread my campaign widely or achieve my goal of saving myself and my family from the inevitable death in devastated Gaza.
My followers know that I've been trying to help Abood and have contributed as much of my own money as I can to his campaign, but I don't have a ton of followers so I really would like help spreading his fundraiser. He is a bit shy of €8,000 short of reaching his €20,000 goal and I fear he is losing hope. Abood has spoken before about possibly selling one of his kidneys to get his family out of Gaza and I don't want that to happen. His mental and physical health are suffering, and he has written in his updates about the declining health of his parents as well as his young nieces and nephews. Please don't forget the people of Palestine. Thanks so much to anyone who has reblogged and donated so far. 🕊️🍉

I LOVE 4 MINUTES.
I love it! GAAAAAHHH, I love it. While Be On Cloud’s KinnPorsche was so BL-referential, I just love this juicy Dr. Sammon-mystery genre that takes us out of trope-land. Queer murder mysteries, my beloved.
I have no theories, per se, about where I think this show is going, but I am going to jot down some observations for my own posterity and memory. After reading some theories on Twitter (including one that Dr. Sammon herself retweeted), I went back and fast-forwarded through all the episodes so far, so here are my notes (and these VERY WELL may have been repeated in the tag, so I apologize if I’m just pooping what we’re already assuming here).
1) This Twitter account noted that Tonkla saw his cat in episode 1, after what-we-assume-to-be present-day boing with Korn. Tonkla sees this AFTER Korn rushed off after getting off the phone. After this week’s episode, we seem to be informed that said cat had died in the past.
Tumblr media
We also know that Tonkla has a habit of lighting up after sex and during times of duress.
There might be more than just tobacco in those cigarettes he’s lighting up, I’m not sure, but we also know he hits the shabu, pipe-wise.
Tumblr media
Besides Great being in what I assume to be, and what I call, a fever-state, or better phrased, a cardiac episode, I am assuming that Tonkla is transcending his own lines of reality through drug use.
1a) [(A quick aside: I just wanna say that I will be VERY. CURIOUS. as to how Tonkla’s drug use is positioned alongside his predilections for unprotected sex, and if I think there will be public health commentary in this. Drug use is, of course, generally not recommended by medical professionals, and at the same time, it’s a culturally important element of many facets of queer culture that many physicians who work with LGBTQ+ patients are trained to be aware of; for example, using poppers to ease the process of preparing for intercourse. I don’t know if the show means to indicate that Tonkla, vis à vis being on PrEP and meth at the same time, is an automatically unsafe person…but he also might be a murderer… so yeah, I will be curious about this underlying public health messaging.)]
1b) (Speaking of public health, yo, we needed those Durex bottles in episode 4, YOWCH.) (😬) (ANYWAY.)
2) So, speaking of Great and Tonkla living in their own realities, I also want to posit that Tyme has created his own sense of delirium by literally not sleeping.
Tumblr media
Homeboy is on his shifts, he’s working out, he’s solving mysteries, he’s kicking literal ass, he’s investigating and courting Great, he’s following Korn. He’s doing a lot! We haven’t caught him sleeping yet, again, literally.
I wonder if this may be Dr. Sammon commenting on the culture of insanely long shifts for doctors, which impacts their mental and physical well-being. We’ve also separately learned that Tyme is driven by revenge, and by a need to support his grandma and save Nan. But how can he do all of that, if he’s physically depriving himself of the ability to rest? I don’t know if this is going to go anywhere, but I do notice the camera work, whenever Tyme is scrubbing out of a shift, re-centering from a tilt, which makes me wonder about what these shots are telling us about his mental state (and we saw comparable camera work when Tonkla thought he saw Dome).
(I’m also not forgetting that the show shows him stabbed at the very start of the series, and I’m constantly wondering about that.)
3) Finally, I want to offer that Korn, Great, and Tyme are not out. At least for Great and Tyme, does that contribute to a delirium mindset (and maybe even Korn, too) by way of the stress of holding in secrets? (Please note that this linked article is from 2004 and does not have fully updated terminology.)
I don’t know if this theory holds for Great, because a popular theory for him at the start of the series was that he may not have realized he was gay until he met Tyme. I don’t know that I saw that in my very-fast rewatch except for his surprised looks during the stitches moment in the hospital. Great’s comfort with Tyme in the car after the claw machines makes me think he knew more about his sexuality, and his physical separation from his family at the dinner table in episode 1 also makes me wonder if he realized his preferences were always going to separate him from his nuclear family. I’m not sure, but I’m chewing on this.
4) So, where I’m gonna go entering into episode 5 is that there isn’t a centered or accurate “present day” for anyone….mayyyybe except for Korn, who is certainly living his own fever dream of being stuck in a reeeeeeally bad job, but maybe isn’t being subjected to mental delirious psychoses (just, you know, the general stress of hating your work thoroughly). But I could be wrong there, too, because we know that Korn is driven by greed, filial piety, and a desire to take over the family business. So maybe that’s creating a delirium of his own, one that takes him away from his boyfriend for weeks at a time.
4a) (By the way, isn’t it interesting that we are not seeing NC scenes with Korn and Fasai? I know, I know, Be On Cloud does queer/BL content, but. I think it’d be interesting if the show ran the gamut of intimacy. Just a thought.)
Anyway! This show is so good, it’s making me babble. I absolutely love it, and it is the comeback that Bible Wichapas deserves.

I’m also surprised at the whole thing with Endeavor’s career being “over” and him “taking the fall for Dabi” or whatever.
Guys.
THE MAN HAS KILLED ALL FOR ONE.
He lost his dominant arm to defeat the nation’s worst villain. He’s a war veteran who saved the country. “Dabi” is old news - it’s been a while since the reveal, and the whole time, as soon as he got out of the hospital, Endeavor has been fighting. Logically, he should be at the peak of his clout! He did something even All Might was not able to do. There is no way in hell, after removing the biggest stressor in every person’s life, he would still be dragged by most people for his past behavior. Especially given that he never denied his wrongdoings and has shown remorse. To a regular person, the very sight of Endeavor should bring relief, just like the sight of All Might used to. You know the man will sacrifice a limb to save you and risk his life - because he’s done that before.
Additionally, after All for One confessed to taking Touya and messing with his body, it should be clear that he had his hand in the making of Dabi. Endeavor didn’t make his (adult) son “kill 30 innocent people” any more than Shigaraki’s dad made him ruin cities and decay heroes.
Last but not least, Endeavor is a big-time dilf.
Yes, it sounds super unserious, but think about real-life media, the public, and fame. He’s a tall, good-looking, physically fit man with a sexy job, unusual hair color and rare eye color who wears a skintight outfit and has a powerful, impressive-looking quirk. When a famous person is attractive, they get away with shit a lot more easily.
Look at real-life MHA fans: who’s simping for ReDestro? No one. Now who’s simping for Dabi? Everyone.
This really isn’t reflected well in the manga or anime, Endeavor is depicted like some scary guy people avoid, but if you look at how real people behave, that’s not realistic. There would be simps galore, apologists, fans chasing him asking for stupid shit like “please yell at me,” “I want to have your babies,” or “please set me on fire,” people flashing him their boobs, people selling and buying Endeavor body pillows, accounts with pictures of his ass, etc. All this shit would only get more intense after the defeat of AFO and would contribute to Endeavor’s public approval score.
So no, I don’t think there’s a big scandal or that it makes sense for him to retire for something other than health or personal convictions.

ive seen you talk about FIRE/mr money moustache and i am interested in how you balance that with your politics. i ask because i am also interested in FIRE but struggle with the idea of saving 2mil+ to retire early when people need money NOW to survive. not just broadly but even loved ones and community members in my immediate vicinity. i dont mean this in an EXPLAIN YOURSELF sort of way, just so many of the FIRE etc people i find writing about it dont really address this aspect and its something i struggle with internally myself.
Sure, I don't mind speaking about this at all. I wish I more frequently had the occasion to because it's a major special interest of mine.
First, I'm not interested in the saving 2 million dollars (if that were even feasible) school of financial independence/ retire early. I'm more of an adherent to the r/LeanFire, r/BaristaFire type approach of maintaining a consistently very frugal standard of living that is sustainable for me, on a relatively smaller savings, and pursuing a life of relatively little consumption.
I also think that MMM, despite his many flaws, is broadly accurate in stating that when people continuing working all their lives, they also create more ecological devastation by consuming a whole of a hell lot more resources on convenience and burning more fuel, while chasing after a steadily rising living standard set by the norms of their profession. By taking myself out of the workforce sooner rather than later, I will be contributing less to climate change and waste because I'll need fewer convenience meals, fewer car rides, fewer flights, fewer hotel rooms, fewer fancy professional clothes, and so on and so on.
I also spend a lot of time on the Socially Conscious Mustachians group on Facebook, which focuses on investing one's savings in ways that are less ethically problematic. The easy mode version of this is simply putting one's money into index funds that exclude oil companies, gun manufacturers, etc. But honestly, today, with interest rates being as high as they are? It's pretty easy to just sock one's money into a CD or a bond, collect the cool 5.4% interest, and avoid having to contribute to the stock market directly at all. There are even high-yield savings accounts at credit unions that pay out about that much interest these days, and those entities typically do not invest in oil pipelines, BDS targets, or anything all that objectionable.
As for the hoading money while others are in need piece: Well. yeah. that's a difficult ethical challenge that we all must consider. how much can i hold onto for my own wellbeing in the spirit of "putting on one's oxygen mask first" without it being wealth hoarding? how much should i give to other people when i see that they are in need --someone could easily make the case that I have the moral obligation to give away what i have to my very last cent, and I couldn't really argue with them on that. maybe a person should do that. but i'm not going to do it. and of course the effective altruism freakos would counter that if i invest my money and grow it now, i will have more to give to others in the long run than if i cash out now.
realistically, i won't be able to continue working for much longer without having another health episode or worse. i will not qualify for disability benefits because high maskers who have had careers usually do not. and social security's coffers will be entirely drained long before i reach the age to qualify for it. if i enter my non-working years without any resources, someone else will have to worry about me staying housed and medicated and fed.
i tend to think of my retire early stash as my own little private disability benefits fund that will allow me to live safely and will hopefully allow me to take care of other people that i love as we age, and that will give me the freedom from having to do any morally compromising capitalist labor ever again, and only put my energies towards causes that either fulfill me or benefit others.
but it's still rooted in a highly individualistic capitalist system, this holding onto money under my own name and investing it thing. im sure a lot of people would choose instead to sock all of their money into some kind of cooperatively owned communist farm or something, and you know, some day down the line i would love to put money toward a big multi unit building that lots of people i am in community with could live in, with no financial obligations for them. but i dont have anywhere near that kind of scratch. as hannibal buress (that landlord piece of shit) said, "i don't have fuck you money, i have strongly worded email money." and you know, being able to write a strongly worded email to people who would otherwise be exploiting me into another huge burnout does feel good.
thinking that one day i might not work anymore is one of the only things that keeps me going. i am always on the razor's edge of not functioning, i dont think people really realize that, how could they, the mask is there to prevent them seeing it. im beyond privileged to even get to CONSIDER the dream of getting by on my savings for however long human society continues to exist. and it sure would be better if i could extend that kind of freedom and peace of mind to others. my life still feels very precarious and it always has and ive had to be stable for the sake of others for a long time, ive had to be financially responsible for others for a long time. i cling to the idea of FI/RE because it offers me a way to finally break down and be weak. but something more community oriented and interdependent would sure as fuck be better. in the meantime i guess im saving for something like that i could trust enough to give myself over to.
i also have a really strong fetishistic desire to be someone's completely brainwashed sex pet for the entire rest of my life, and having an early retirement account would really help me facilitate that

I am now looking to leave the Strip, me and my small family, to search for a life like living in peace. Away from wars, After losing all means of life in Gaza and everything I own, The only hope i have is your support so that I can get my family out of Gaza as quickly as possible to save my family again outside the Gaza Strip in peace.
My wife and I are also eagerly awaiting the arrival of our daughter, but due to the harsh realities of war in our area, we are facing severe financial difficulties. As the due date approaches, we find ourselves struggling to cover the costs of a cesarean section, as well as my wife’s basic medical and health needs. With no income and the enormous challenges we face daily, we are reaching out to our community for support. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a huge difference in helping us welcome our daughter into the world safely. Thank you for standing with us during this difficult time.
