headcanon, where tilda gets lost in the commotion and bard is panicking, trying to find her after the battle of the five armies ends. and all the while not letting go of sigrid and bain, their cold hands in the firm hold of his dirty ones, because he just can't lose them too. he's asking around, searches all the building that can be possible places for a hideout but she's nowhere to be found. his heart is like a lump in his throat, blocks the air from getting into his heaving lungs before dropping in terrifying defeat. he can't find her.
bard?
familiar voice comes from behind him and he spins around, pulling sigrid and bain behind him on reflex before realizing — here stood the elvenking, his figure tall and mighty even without his armor, and tilda, his youngest daughter, rested in his arms.
i think you've lost a princess, thranduil says and tilda follows it with da! exclaimed excitedly. bard feels tears prickling in his eyes the moment her voice reaches his ears.
he runs to them forgetting all the formalities that come with interacting with the elvenking, and grabs tilda off his arms.
thank you, whispers bard, crying into his daughter's hair. thank you, he repeats to thranduil as he looks up.
he imagined himself being a mess, beaten up and tired and emotionally shaken, but. the humane pain that pierced those ice blue eyes the moment bard caught the look of them, struck him. it felt familiar. no king would allow himself to break down like this, not when he has the remnants of his people to gather and care for and heal.
but a father would.
thranduil nods and steps away to leave.
take care, bard the dragonslayer. don't lose 'em again.

A Girl, Letting Go
Barbie – "I didn't get put here to lay down and leave you and Sasha flailing. I'm all in on this, and like they say at corporate; I can do anything."
Gloria – "You were, and are, my dream, and my dreams are never wrong; we'll cry when we watch our daughter graduate. I only love you, Millicent Barbara Handler."
AU Glorbie; Gloria is a young intern at Mattel in 2005 just out of USC when she has a breakdown, finds out she's pregnant from a one-night stand, and when her parents find out, Gloria's Catholic father shames her and slaps her upside the cheek for her being the deshonrĂł a la familia, and tells her the only way she'll be supported is full compliance with his wishes for her future.
Unconsciously while taking down a commercial shoot Gloria holds a Barbie. She recalls memories in the past in that moment, about being repressed from loving her student council's president because of her mother's racist and homophobic views, recalls how in that girl's worst moment before she was shipped out to Nebraska and stricter relatives, the two women exchanged a kiss of comfort and support and acts it out with the doll, imprinting upon it. Barbie feels it in Barbieland out of the blue while on the beach, and runs back to her house with other Kens and Barbies trailing her, whom she does not acknowledge.
Barbie feels the hurt, the abuse from Gloria parents for pursuing design and shooting for USC rather than Azusa, and the pressure to find 'the right guy', leaving her with Richie, a good man, but only that. Fears of her future and how she raises her child without her the support of her family if she lives her authentic self. Her mood plunges and she knows that she can't stay in Barbieland one moment longer.
Barbie breaches into the San Fernando Mission Cemetery to find Gloria at the grave her abuelo, the only person to ever know Gloria carried sapphic feelings and who treasured her the most, even more than his own daughter, seeking prayer and guidance, and breaks down, her head upon his gravestone. She approaches slowly and carefully, touches her shoulder, and when Gloria looks up...
That feeling she had for her Millicent...her Millie. The bluest eyes and softest mouth, her height protective over her and the school. There is no doubt; they shine together, and Barbie cries with her and breaks down with her. They just know; Gloria remembers when she imprinted upon her at the shoot.
Barbie feeling such deep love immediately pushes her fully into the real world and Weird Barbie had explained the consequences; she can't go back, but Mattel will properly support her, and she has a job as a trade show model. Despite all those who look at her in different ways and so many offers of affection, Barbie's heart stays only true to Gloria, and they begin to fall in love as Gloria sets up displays and find little moments to be intimate, in trade show hotel rooms, Barbie's little extended stay apartment, Gloria's own building, and anywhere they can. Their lovemaking is soft, but still intense, and each morning after is filled with promises, tears and care as Barbie catalogs each day of Gloria's pregnancy when she can.
Eventually her parents confront her without knowing about the relationship; she has to stop her internship, be a proper Catholic wife and marry her child's father. Richie didn't expect this and is scared; he knows Gloria loved him only that night but if he doesn't marry her, Mr. Esperada suggested certain 'connections' to ruin his life.
Gloria moves back in with her parents and Richie; they try to avoid the topic of the wedding, claiming they want to make sure it's later in the pregnancy. Gloria continues to intern to run out her term, secretly hoping that Mattel switches it to full-time work.
When Gloria thinks she's attending a baby shower offered by her friends, she finds out that her parents planned it instead as a wedding and her closest friends sold her out with Richie acquising to his future father-in-law's wishes. It's betrayal, and in her last desperate act, she calls Barbie at the biggest event she has, LA Comic Con and leaves a voicemail to let her know . Barbie risks it all by sneaking out without telling anyone because she wants to actually get her hands dirty with toys; she's much more than a pretty face for the company.
She tries to sneak into the house while everyone is in the background; Richie catches her; they've seen each other and know Gloria has a unique connection to the mother of his child, and helps her crawl into the window of Gloria's childhood bedroom. Richie heads back out to find a distraction to get Gloria in and finds it when he realizes there's no wedding cake and raises hell with her parents fighting about it. Overwhelmed, Gloria flees into the room because whatever the cake is, sugar has pretty much made her vomit since she got morning sickness.
Gloria finds Barbie on the bed and is thrown off. They keep their voices down as her first worry is Barbie's future employment.
"Do I look like I give a fuck, G? Your health, safety and care is my most important priority right now. "It can't be! I'm a fuck-up about to have a kid and...look at you. Who wants a chubby failure, especially someone who...come on, Barbie, you're a knockout! I'm just...Gloria." "You're not a failure, good God, would you look at yourself? You're gorgeous, kind, funny, and full of heart. You connected with me and I feel what you feel, my heart was racing all day at the convention center because all I feel now is panic! I can't let you do make this mistake–" "She needs a father!" "She'll have one and Richie is all in on support, that's not in question, but you're going to let these backwards zealots get their way? Why, because you're human? I wasn't human a few months ago and I wouldn't trade going back to Barbieland for anything in any world." She pushes up Gloria's shirt to place her hand on her stomach. "I'm here for you, I'm here for Sasha, and I don't give a damn if Mattel dumps me, you're my whole heart. I will not let you say 'I do' and just dispose of your life because of some religious shit to maintain the 'proper family'. You're my family and–" Barbie startles as she feels a sharp kick against her palm and Gloria lets out a sharp gasp. "Barbie?" "Is something wrong?" "I...I think you imprinted onto...us." Gloria is emotional. "My doc told me that I should be concerned if–oh my God, another. If she didn't kick by now." She shudders and begins to cry. "She...she kicked for you. She...she knows. My body knows." Another couple of sharp kicks; Barbie feels emotional herself.
"Wow, she's a regular Abby Wambach." Barbie and Gloria lay on the bed, and Barbie lays against the woman's stomach. "She didn't until now?" "I didn't want to freak anyone out with all this going on, and–" Gloria brushes Barbie's hair aside as she feels soft pecks on her belly...and little boots with each kiss. "Baby." "I love you, and I love you," Barbie whispers against her belly. "My daughter will never know the hate and persecution her parents have forced upon her." Gloria is struck by the seriousness of her girlfriend's tone.
"Barbie," she murmurs. "You think of her as...that?" "As much as this horrid society can let me claw out," she hisses bitterly. "I'm here, and I am never leaving you." She holds Gloria's hand. "I didn't get put here to lay down and leave you and Sasha flailing. I'm all in on this, and like they say at corporate; I can do anything." Gloria looks directly in Barbie's eyes; she sees nothing but fire in them that will never be extinguished, and a determination she never knew from anyone who ever loved her. She hears the argument in the living room between Richie and her parents; that chaos could be her life.
But in Barbie, she sees the comfort she felt around Millie, and the support that the girl gave her before she was shipped off, her spirit effectively vanquished. Without Gloria, Millie lost her fight. She still remembers collapsing in her dorm when she heard the news that she had passed in her garage, her self-worth crushed and her body bruised from further abuse.
Barbie reminds her of Millie in so many ways; the sharing of her name as Barbie's middle name especially. It's like she floated around, waiting for Gloria to come back, and her life force was within this warm and tangible woman, who would support her all the way.
"You're free of that pain," Gloria says, blue eyes upon brown, brushing aside some stray hairs from her face. She's tearful and joyful. "You're here." Barbie's eye catches on a photograph taped to Gloria's mirror in that moment, of her and Millie candid in a student project. The two women look so young...and then the memories course through, of their small moments, their conversations about homework and projects, and of how the most innocent thing...a mere dream she voiced, wishing to kiss Gloria, was how Millie's parents found out.
The clarity of her resemblance, and of knowing the feeling of those last moments in that garage; Barbie had just suddenly...existed in that Dreamhouse. There was no childhood, no teenage years, nor any love to find with Ken.
The memories of her high school years return. Of her childhood, and that her parents snuffed her flame at every opportunity. Even as she had all A's, that didn't matter.
Only the Lord did. Only that awful boy who she somehow by some miracle kept from doing anything more than forceful kissing. Of how that girl, who was described in racially crude terms, was the only one to understand her at all. "My first body...by the end, I looked forward to the darkness," Barbie admits, tearful. "I think that...form...it was done." She bawls into Gloria's shoulder. "Never...leaving...you...again." Barbie always wondered why a certain scent that Gloria wore was so damned persistent in her mind, but she couldn't place it because the years in the limbo of Barbieland were a fog. She kisses Gloria softly, and where she saw fear only a few minutes before, now she saw full determination, and strength.
"You were, and are, my dream, and my dreams are never wrong; we'll cry when we watch our daughter graduate. I only love you, Millicent Barbara Handler." She held the woman's hand firmly in hers. "You've faced and survived death once. We're growing so damned old we get on the news when we're 110 and say like, ginger beer keeps us alive, some bullshit. It's our spirit." "And our connection." Barbie nods. "If we leave–" "No looking back. Things can be replaced. Souls, cannot." Gloria gets off the bed, Barbie getting up with her, and embraces her into a deep hug. "You, Sasha and I, against the world." She kisses Barbie on the lips.
"The worlds," Barbie corrects. "And so many lifetimes and guises, our love will be eternal. It already was." She looks down at the stomach of the smaller woman, filled with joy and wonder. "You ready, honeybee?" Gloria nods. "They don't accept, they don't know her. Ever. And I'm content with that." They come out of the bedroom, and indeed, the trio stands firm; Richie will not marry Gloria, and he doesn't give a damn if he's a marked man, he knows Barbie is her true love. LAPD does have to get involved, but Barbie protects Gloria with all she has, and the three are able to escape any charge, refusing to yield to one of Gloria's more aggresive uncles and his orders to marry her. Richie is able to defend himself and though hurt, he will live with nothing more than a minor stab wound.
The Esperadas indeed disown Gloria, but it means nothing; a work friend of Barbie's caught her fleeing and vouches to Mattel that she'd never leave work unsaid outside a true emergency, and Barbie is thankful to get a slap on the wrist and a relieving downgrade to voiceover-only roles and some consulting. Gloria gets full-time with Mattel after maternity leave with her portfolio and display work impressing her superiors. Richie shares a new apartment with them to bond with Sasha, and finds his own love, staying nearby to remain a strong force in her life.
The second chance and motherhood invigorate both women, and before long, whatever hurdles the Esperada-Handlers, their friends and the Church put in their way are easily overcome, and they and Gloria's former friends are shunned when the community at large finds out about the shower-turned-wedding; the other Esperada siblings outside two loyal to their parents turn away from them too, content to let them wither away and their bigoted calls for Gloria to repent go unheeded.
Several years later, Gloria and Barbie marry when they're able to, with Richie giving Gloria away, and Sasha as a flower girl, and they love each other more every day. And on the tenth anniversary of Millie's death, the two women visit a certain residence in Nebraska, both to understand why she took her life, and to confront her parents and an uncle for their abuse.
The three take sight of a woman who looks like Millie, but all grown up, and the father drops dead of a heart attack, the mother of a stroke, and that cruel uncle? Nobody believes him when he says he saw Millie in the flesh, and he spends the rest of his life institutionalized, hearing Barbie's words to him.
"I lived and loved Gloria after all. You'll go to your grave knowing that my spirit lived through the pain you forced me through."
And when they visit Millie's grave in that churchyard, they come upon it, thinking nothing of the lilies, before a woman there at the same time makes note of it.
"They just began to grow one day, nobody knows why." It's then that they notice the subtle rainbow of pink, orange, and violet lilies, full of life.
"Your pain in that life, is now full-throated and colorful love in this one," Barbie whispers to the grave, her thumb caressing Gloria's chin before drawing her into a soft kiss. They both imagine the spirit of Millie above them, freed and comforted that Gloria found her soul on Earth anew.
Millie looks down at them, grateful that she can now be fully at peace, and that her soul will be united with barbie's decades from now, in bliss and contentment.

i've recently started watching the west wing and there's a scene where the president is telling his daughter about how the worst case scenario isn't something happening to him but something happening to her because he wouldn't be able to not do everything possible to save her regardless of if it was best for the country (scene here if you, like me, hadn't/haven't seen the west wing [x]) and that's such a bard-as-king sentiment. (like granted of all his kids sigrid is the least likely to actively engage in anything risky but still.) and bard as any sort of political/leader figure in modern verses. because he's always been a dad first -- he was a dad way before he was a king/modern-verse-political-figure, his kids have always been his priority. he only even stumbled into being made a king because he was trying to keep his kids safe. it's also not really going very far out on a limb to assume that it's pretty easily assessed knowledge that the best way to get to bard is through his kids. tl;dr it's probably more often than not that sigrid is pretty constantly a potential political target, and while she isn't really the type to be engaging in what could be considered risky, she is fairly resistant to having security around her.

Some RdR2 OC thought dump about Aura Jones that I need to share to anyone who wants to know
• She would listen to Katy Perry (I say so in her official playlist)
• Most of her music taste contains early 2000's breakup /romance songs
• she's a bit of an alcoholic (it's her Irish side) while her partner Sigrid is a chronic smoker, they've tried getting eachother to quit but it's backfired badly.
• She's got street smarts since she's from Saint Denis
• She's got a stash of gold and jewels hidden somewhere throughout the states that she deems "the foxes den" that is rumored to hold quite alot of cash, but she won't confirm or deny rumors
• Dutch has tried getting her to tell him where said money pile is but she's pretty good at keeping secrets.
• Aura loves hanging out with Sean and Molly at camp, other people at camp may be annoyed by Sean but Aura sees him as a big brother so when the events of Rhodes happen she's devastated when she's told about it.
• Aura views Sadie as a big sister and admires her a bunch but she'll never say it out loud.
• Aura is very good at playing Poker and has a good ass poker face. She's good at most card games. And has a bit of a knack for cheating at them.

i remember that core is everywhere and nowhere, and sees everything and nothing. that doesn't mean they know everything, per se. i assume they can see through their multiple shattered pieces across the multiverse, so it's still somewhat limited. i think they won't be aware it's stage 4 - core will think it's an anomaly of sorts, or a genocide end, or simply it's error doing his thing.
and speaking of error, he would get his ass whooped so bad because he's just so unprepared when it comes to surprises (error vs fatal error, for example). i'm not sure about ink intervening in stage 4's rampage (also see fatal error - not exactly canon to ink but still). maybe it's the way the story should go? ink's more of an artist than a fighter imo, so i guess he will just sit it out if he learns about stage 4. there are more people who have more legitimate reason to beef with stage 4 (error, nightmare, dream, core, etc.).
a stage 4 and color spectrum duo scenario hnghhhhhh i headcanon all killers are connected and semi-aware of each other in a way. like, they're still their own contained entities with their own stories and lives, but they're aware of that there are other killers out there. in that way, stage 4 is more like a singular entity capable of hopping from one killer to another (idk if that makes sense? killers are stage 4 sleeper agents lol). imagine one day color's killer gets infiltrated by stage 4 and now color has to get his killer back somehow. ooohhh the angst.
~ crowshipping anon
Killers being sleeper agents for what’s essentially a programmed Multiversal destroyer could go so hard though. I would love to see fight between it and error, especially if st4 doesn’t even acknowledge error as much of anything; just something to be destroyed. Not even something in its way.
I wonder if Stage 4 infiltrating other Killer is an immediate thing or something that has to gradually happen, perhaps depending on how much this Killer is resisting Stage 4.
For example, killers in good endings or with color are avoiding going into higher Stages or are otherwise working to deprogram, so infiltrating them might be a covert process.
Perhaps starting as vivid dreams and nightmares of both real things this killer experienced and of alternate timelines of other killers. Perhaps vivid, long lasting flashbacks of trauma memories and the process of stage 4’s more, graphic torture that led to the programming/conditioning. It’s like stage 4 is running programs in alternate killers to be able to infiltrate them.
And to outsiders, it looks like this killer is going through something like a relapse. Waking up screaming and fighting at nothing, often too caught up in flashbacks and lashing out at seemingly nothing; too easily triggered into Stage 3, falling back into old habits in Stage 2 without being able to explain or understand why. Feeling stronger and stronger compulsions to be more and more destructive. Experiencing triggers into Stage 4 more and more, especially when waking up from nightmares.
Until finally, one day, a killer is triggered into Stage 4 and doesn’t revert back. Perhaps by that point killer has already abandoned color and the omega timeline, not trusting himself to be around anymore. Or perhaps he was driven out by a mob or council vote.
(Chat play One of Us from Lion King 2.) (And also Everybody Knows by Sigrid when the takeover finally happens.)
I don’t know, I just wonder what the process of an infiltration could look like for killers, and outsiders. And how st4 understands and views the entire thing. And maybe st4 just avoids or otherwise ignores Color and color variants, due to not registering as something to destroy, perhaps?

I keep coming up with aus send help— anyway human iterator au??
I had fun picking their names, but I was in the shower, so some of them might be a bit silly lmao. They all get human names, and the scugs are just their cats
Pebbles: Pedro. It means “rock” or “stone,” and I wanted to make him and Moon Latino, so there you go. Pebbles is his nickname, though. It’s an inside joke with him and Moon (mostly just Moon, Pebbles is still a wet blanket). Pebbles in this au would probably be in college as a history major.
Moon: Luna! It’s a bit basic, but it works really well as a name. Plus, you know, Latino siblings. I haven’t decided on a specific country for their heritage yet, so hmu if you have Latino iterator headcanon ideas. Moon would be a physicist.
NSH: Sigrid. He’s transmasc, but he kept his old name because imma be real, Sigrid goes hard. Plus it shortens to Sig! NSH would be a biologist, working his way to the top of a lab.
Suns: Apollo. It’s so basic but I love it. They’re silly. Plus they share a name with Apollo Justice from hit game Ace Attorney, which is always a win. Suns works in the same lab building as Sig, just in a different research group.
Innocence: Amina! It means honest/pure, so Yk… innocence. It’s also just a really pretty name. I think Inno would vibe with it. They are also in college, and they’re Pebbles’s roommate. They’d be a graphic design major.
Chasing/Grey Wind: Gray. Gray is already a name, and it’s giving “nonbinary people and their four letter names.” Also don’t mind me changing the spelling for the word mid-explanation, I still don’t know which way is the American way. I don’t think we should have different ways to spell gray. It’s dumb. Wind would be a grad student in chemistry.

talk to me about the bog's hollow players please! general vibes? headcanons? thoughts on ragweed?
Oh absolutely thank you so much for asking about them I have so many thoughts!!! I have put a cut because I’m going to ramble.
As for general headcanons, their names are as follows
Sigrid Ormsby (Bryce’s Player)
Alaric Hastings (Curt’s Player)
Bertram Hastings (Jon’s Player)
Cyprian Warwick (James’ Player)
Clarice Beaumont (Angela’s Player)
Anneke Hargrave (Lauren’s Player)
Fiora Irvine (Mariah’s Player)
Gregor Cheeseman (Joey’s Player)
Eydis Longfellow (Kim’s Player)
David Bowman (The Narrator, guess who he’s named after)
And of course the understudies:
Petra Lovelace (Mary-Kate’s Player)
Tove Hawthorne (Allison’s Player)
Sabine Cromwell (Rianny’s Player)
Then for the band it’s:
Matthias Longfellow (Matt) (canon name)
Toothless John (Austin) (canon name)
Elias Wibbler (Josh) (partially-canon name)
Eliot Wibbler (Sam) (partially-canon name)
Then of course Ragweed is there too <3 he is very much the tired old man, he is married to David and generally just goes to rehearse his woodblock in another room.
The players are kind of all embroiled in drama all the time. There’s a lot of relationship drama and infighting, it is a miracle they even put the show together.
They’re a mess but they’re a family.
Please ask more I have so many specific things to say about them and their characters.

Troublesome Trucks Headcanons: Graffiti
A lot of rolling stock in our world has graffiti and street art painted on them. That got me thinking about how Sodor’s troublesome trucks would feel about it...
——————
When the trucks first become canvases for Sudrian graffiti artists, some of them don’t like it. They complain the spray paint is cold, or that it itches after a while.
Others, however, see it as an opportunity for mischief. They call out to the artists sneaking into the yards and sidings at night: would they mind painting something specific?
James shatters his gauges upon seeing a vibrant depiction of his bootlace incident emblazoned on his goods train.
All of a sudden, most trucks decide they like this graffiti thing. They strike up close relationships with Sodor’s graffiti artists, “commissioning” them for art of naughty words or embarrassing incidents. In exchange, the trucks hide the artists from the authorities — sometimes inside themselves —and tip them off to places ideal for their art.
The artists are more than grateful for all of this, and they establish a rule amongst themselves: You can’t be a Sudrian graffiti artist unless you respect the trucks. If you say a bad word about them, or paint any of them without their consent, then you’re out.
Over time, the trucks hear from the artists about why they do this. The artists look for beauty in landscapes not always recognized, in the industrial or “grungy” parts of life. They also want art to be more available and accessible to people.
This flatters and touches many trucks, who aren’t called beautiful often. And as a bunch who make music as open to everyone as possible, many more sympathize with the artists’ aspirations. Soon, they ask their friends in between commissions to paint whatever they want on their sides.
Managers try to curtail this, catching artists and scrubbing art from the trucks. But the Fat Controller realizes there’s an upside: Trucks with graffiti don’t want to cause accidents for fear of spoiling their art faster. He institutes a new, unofficial policy: so long as it isn’t “vulgar,” graffiti on trucks should be left alone.
It’s a huge victory for the trucks, even their largest one to date. They’re delighted to share it with their artist friends. (And of course they still find ways to sneak “vulgarities” onto themselves.)
The trucks also love to get bedecked in colors for holidays and special events. Sigrid’s Day, Pride Parades, you name it!
One such event for the trucks is the day Salty came to Sodor. They’re close with him, considering him part of the family. So for the tenth anniversary of his arrival, they plan something special.
Salty rumbles into the dockyard that morning to find all the trucks painted in his livery. His colors glistening on their sides, they sing the very first shanty he ever sang with them.
He stares at them. Then, breaking into a watery grin, he sings along. “Shiver me timbers,” he laughs once the song is over. “I guess ye fine sailors needed a uniform, but I didn’t think it’d be me colors!”
“You’ve been one of us for years,” a lead truck says. “It was about time that we’d all be one of you.”
Not even Cranky — though he denies it — has a dry eye afterwards.

Bard with a mermaid partner headcanons
(Similar but more in depth version of this story)
Tumblr media
- He meets you on his boat one day but when he says ‘hello’ you swim away scared
- The more you see him, the more confident you become and start talking to him
- You both end up talking for hours every time he comes out
- One day you come to town to see him but he tells you not to because you may get hurt
- You talk about everything from your families, to your worlds and what you do for fun
- Slowly you both begin to fall in love with each other but you never admit it
- When Smaug attacks, you subtly help the towns people by pulling them into the water, onto the land and away from the flames
- When Bard sees his children again, Tilda is excitedly talking about a mermaid saving her
- Her siblings and the towns people don’t deny it but they don’t want to admit it either
- After the battle, Bard goes to find and confront you
- He thanks you for saving his family and that’s when you both admit your feelings for each other and finally kiss
- After that neither of you see each other for some time as Bard helps to rebuild Dale
- You’ll catch a glimpse of each other every now and then but you figure he’s too busy for you now
- On the night of Bards coronation, he’s surprised to see you there, in a dress and as a human
- You explain that you have been granted the opportunity to become a human one evening a month on the full moon
- You dance together, meet his children (Tilda is the only one who knows and believes you’re a mermaid) and he apologises for how he’s neglected you
- That evening as you fall asleep after making love, he begins to plan out in his mind a system so you may swim to his castle easily
- The next morning he begins construction and explains his plan to you
- Every night on the full moon you are able to be together and you grow even closer to both him and his children
- His other two children discover what you are and they all promise to keep it a secret
- As your love grows, Bard proposes to you and you become his queen
- He did have to meet your family beforehand and even had a private ceremony away from prying eyes after the formal regal one
- Once you become queen, your people and the elves work on magic to make you able to become human for longer
- You can’t stay one for too long as it would be harmful but you are able to stay human for one week every month beginning on the full moon
- The elves, your people and your new family work to keep your identity safe and ways to make the people of Dale less suspicious of their queen
- Since becoming the queen you are able to grow closer to your new step-children
- You often take Tilda swimming with you
- Bard sits with you every night in your private lagoon before bed
- Bain and Sigrid grow close with your siblings
- Sigrid loves to learn about the society and way of life of your people
- Bain and your brothers have almost too much fun discussing different battles and weapons of the land and sea
- On your first wedding anniversary Bard surprises you by becoming a merman for an evening
- He always felt bad that you had to change so much and he didn’t
- Every year on your birthday and your wedding anniversary, Bard would become like you for an evening and you would spend time together in your own world
- Bard never forced you to give up your culture or your family
- You accepted each other and though it was sometimes difficult, you made your relationship work beautifully

i always feel like [modern verse] sigrid would have been a candle girlie if she wasn't afraid of fire after her house/entire town was burned to the ground. like i feel like she'd like scented candles for the aromatherapy and to add ambiance. except she doesn't in actuality because fire makes her a little anxious and she's super safe about fires. she'll do a fire in the hearth but she definitely has a really solid fire grate (probably a glass one that sparks can't get through) and when she's around outdoor bonfires she doesn't get too close if it's a big one. she doesn't really like the smell of fire/candles/burning, either. so even though without that one defining incident she probably would have been a candle girlie, because it did happen, she is very much not a candle girlie.

prompt me for things!
So! Aspec Arda Week is coming up in a week and a half, and my very own Sigriel Week is at the beginning of October, so that means, of course, that I am begging for prompts and ideas yet again! Those of you whose prompts I didn't get to for Writers' Month or any of the other events, I will try and see if I can work any of those in, but if anyone fancies prompting me for any of the following that would be AWESOME:
For @aspecardaweek:
DAY ONE: Asexuality || Discovery, Confusion, Education DAY TWO: Aromanticism || Acceptance, Loneliness, Pride DAY THREE: Across the A-Spectrum || Hope, Complexity, Diversity DAY FOUR: Worldbuilding || Community, Change, Family DAY FIVE: Relationships || Companionship, Intimacy, Queerplatonic DAY SIX: Intersectionality || Connection, Relief, Friendship DAY SEVEN: Freeform || Love, Vulnerability, Identity
The characters I usually headcanon as aspec are Legolas (demiromantic and demisexual), Gimli (asexual and alloromantic), Pippin (aromantic and asexual), Elladan and Elrohir (complicated but basically aroace) and Sigrid (aromantic and asexual), and pretty much everyone else I write is probably somewhere on the spectrum, because I myself am very much ace. :D
And for @sigrielweek (come and follow us!):
Monday 7 October - beginnings (did they meet for the first time when Tauriel and Legolas chased the Orcs into their home - or before? | the attack on Lake-town | how do they meet in an AU? Tuesday 8 October - getting to know you (do they hit it off straight away or does it take a bit longer? | on the lakeshore | first steps towards friendship - or more? Wednesday 9 October - we're in this together, we have separate paths (journey to Dale/Gundabad | in an AU, is there an age difference/background difference? |how do they reconcile the differences between them? Thursday 10 October - crisis and aftermath (Battle of the Five Armies | loss and grief | supporting each other) Friday 11 October - someone really special (realisations of feelings | getting together | a special place in each other's lives) Saturday 12 October - getting away from it all (what does a day with no responsibilities look like? | what do they do for fun? | what part do their families and friends play in their lives?) Sunday 13 October - afterwards (does Tauriel stay in Dale? | happily ever after - or not? | does Sigrid inherit the crown instead of Bain? | what does Tauriel do after Sigrid dies?)
(guess who is incapable of being concise in any way, shape or form XD )
Although I usually headcanon Sigrid as aroace, the one person I make an exception for, with her, is Tauriel, so I am happy to write them as platonic, queerplatonic or romantic. :D

Well, it’s my birthday!
I’m officially slap bang in my mid twenties now 😅 but more to the point, that means it’s also my Runner Five’s birthday!
So I thought it would be cute to show you guys what I imagine what my Five received from Sam when she woke up on her birthday that took place during season 6 and some headcanons:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Five woke up alone to this on her birthday ^
The map is shit, I mean there’s no mystery around where she was going or where she needed to stop but she wasn’t going to say anything. She liked how there was no mystery about it and she was 100% going to humour Sam by doing it properly.
The picture did have a comment on the back of ‘the pink thing is a worm’. But Five teared up when she saw the picture.
One of the stops was Runner 8’s statue which is where Five goes to think. She said good morning to the statue on her way round.
Anyway when she got to the comms shack Sam was there with a huge smile and a ginormous pastry spread picnic for breakfast. Five had no idea how he pulled that off since a) pastry isn’t readily available and b) the comms shack is kind of vital (she later learned they’d set up a back up Comms shack from a old van they used on the run from Sigrid)
Then their friends joined (bringing chocolate cake, this is before the chocolate factory got blown up in season 6) and they opened the presents:
Janine got her a Bletchley Park quiz book.
Jodie knitted her a Gryffindor beanie hat
Maxine and Paula got her a few survival bits and bobs, like a first aid kit and the most recent player handbook for DND.
Baby Sara insisted on giving her a teddy with a orange hoodie on it ‘because it reminds her of daddy’ so if Sam was away from Five all she needed to do was hug the bear. Five nearly genuinely cried at that gift. (Baby Sara is probably in her toddler years in season 6 but I imagine its a ‘Gavin and Stacey’ situation where Baby Sara is now a nickname)
Jamie got her a pair of brand new trainers, he’s the kind of England but he he knows what Five really needed.
Amelia unfortunately got her some cosmetics claiming she looked tired all the time which really rubs Five and Sam up the wrong way because of course she looks tired, she’s a runner!
Brett Valmont even sent her a gift which confuses her, he gifted her the eleventh Doctor’s sonic screwdriver that was used in the show. The actual prop (or one of them).
Peter got her the full boxset of Red Dwarf with special features, and I mean all of Red Dwarf up until the apocalypse started.
Veronica made her a real life working K9 model (lasers not included).
Then Five found out how Valmont knew it was her birthday, Sam had been given by him the actual ring that Catherine Tate wore in the Doctor Who episode The Runaway Bride, the bio damper ring. Sam asked whether he could give it to her as a proper engagement ring for her birthday and he’d agreed.
That is Sam’s present…well part of it, he had commissioned Maxine to work on a special module for Demons and Darkness for Five’s birthday!
So they spend the rest of the day eating cake, and playing DND (although Paula had to take Sara out for a while because restless toddler not good and Amelia excuses herself claiming she’s too good for dnd)
Five has a really good, and more importantly stress free day (well as stress free as playing dnd can get)
She couldn’t have asked for better friends to celebrate with.

\^o^/ dishes and cutlery should never be a luxury and HMMM.... 4, 10, 13!!!
4: Quite possibly my favorite "line" of dialogue in that entire fanfic was Apple's rant to Snow White in chapter 4. I put a lot of my own emotions into it as well as the consensus of the fandom's input, so it had a lot of real emotions behind it and its importance to the story. But an actual line is "Raven's dad was in the picture, but just at the edge of the frame." 10: Honestly, this started just as me wanting to explore my headcanon of Raven being a cook. She always comes off as the person to vent her frustrations through a beneficial hobby, and I'm a foodie myself, so it worked out great. I've also seen a bit too often people brushing off Apple's canonical weight (at least in the books, which we love) and her being more plus-size, and I wanted to do something that allowed that to be addressed while also addressing the anxieties she might have in trying to be a "perfect" Snow White. It wasn't initially romantic until I thought of the healing process the two could share, and that's what led to the ship dynamic. 13: Usually I just let Spotify generate a playlist and I listen to that, but specific songs I would recommend would be "OK (Anxiety Anthem)" by Mabel, "Bad Life" by Sigrid & Bring Me the Horizon, and "Colors (Stripped Version)" by Halsey. Thank you so much for these questions, I really appreciate you wanting to know more about my work!
