You never liked storms. However, the situation had been getting worse in recent months, when rainy days like that brought lots of thunder with them. Noisy thunder. Noises that resembled explosions.

And a premeditated explosion in the Arena was what killed your younger brother in the last Games. Wasn't it? At least that's what you had the displeasure of seeing several times during that stupid Victory Tour. Rewatching the same death over and over again.

Rewatching your little brother's death.

The clock struck 4:56 A.M, but the storm prevented you from closing your eyes or even thinking about trying to sleep. Fear ached in your body. Fear of falling asleep and having more nightmares about your brother. Or about Taehyung too. Just like almost every night since you and him returned to Victors' Village.

You tossed and turned on the bed, trying hard to withstand your torment. Searching for efforts to stop the screams from leaving your throat.

And it was then that your heard the first knock on the entrance door.

At first, you thought it was a hallucination, some consequence after so many nightmares. So when you noticed that everything around you remained the same, you imagined that it could be just a bird hurt by the rain.

However, the second knock came. Stronger than the previous one and more hopeless too.

Maybe the wisest thing to do would be to curl up in your blankets again. But your impulsiveness managed to overcome all your logical and rational thoughts. Wisdom and emotional intelligence wasn't something you had in a long time since since you became the winner of the Hunger Games' recent edition.

When the third knock sounded, you was already standing in front of the door. Heart racing, your eyes squinting and your eyebrows furrowed.

"Darling?" The sight in front of you also seemed like a hallucination. A much more striking hallucination than that knock door. "You okay?"

"Taehyung?" His name fell from your lips without any effort, even though your hadn't said it in a few weeks. "Why are you here?"

God! You mentally cursed yourself for saying such words, the sentence coming out harsher than you expected. So, not knowing how to apologize and being tormented by the boy's sad look in your direction, you opened the door a little wider and allowed him to enter.

Taehyung thanked you quietly as he entered your living room, his clothes soaked and his squeaky boots getting messy all the way.

"What happened? Why you get rained on just to come here? It's dangerous! You could get sick!"

You felt your hands start sweating while Taehyung bit his lip and looked at the floor.

"I wanted to know if you were okay. The storm is very heavy today and I know it brings you more nightmares." The boy had some tears in his eyes when he looked at you, sneezing once at the end of the sentence and bringing a flash of pain to your heart. "Darling, I'm so sorry."

Feeling sorry was something very all-encompassing. What was he sorry for? Your brother's death? Your nightmares? Being the mentor to the "siblings tributes" and choosing attract more sponsors for you, his girlfriend, than your brother? Even though you had begged Taehyung after the Reaping to focus on letting you die.

You never wanted to be a Victor. It was your little brother who deserved it and who he should be. And maybe he would have been, if you hadn't fallen in love with Taehyung before his own Games' victory.

Yeah, you two had a lot to talk about. And Taehyung really had a lot to apologize for. But deep down you knew you couldn't kick him out of your house in the rain.

You sighed, approaching Taehyung with slow steps, touching his arm and giving him a light caress. "Go take a shower to warm up. I still have some of your clothes in my new closet."

Taehyung's eyes widened and his cheeks flushed. "You want me to spend the night here? Are you sure?"

"Not really. I still hate you for not keeping your promises. Maybe I'll hate you forever. But we both need each other at least for tonight..."

A sad smile emerged on his lips after he sighed. "Yeah... At least for tonight."

writer questions meme: 8, 13, 20 if you please

13. What’s the best writing advice you’ve ever come across?

It wasn't explicitly writing advice, but I can tell you where I learned what my specific style would be. There was a fic in the Dresden Files fandom called "Cross" by LightGetsIn. LGI was a tremendous writer and a very kind mentory-friend who I attended my first fan convention with. Extremely accomplished adult who I looked up to when I was barely an adult.

"Cross" is a story about the limitations of perspective. It was the first story that really drove home the idea that Character A would not have the same knowledge and understanding of the world as Character B.

In "Cross", the POV character is John Marcone, a non-magical mafia boss who is deeply entrenched in the magical world. He has a lot of factual knowledge of how magic works, but he's an Italian-American Catholic. So when he's pulled into doing magical rites to bring another character back to life, he specifically doesn't pick up on the more pagan symbology of what he's doing, but filters it through a Guilty Catholic filter. Hence the name of the fic, "Cross."

And that story, which isn't even my favorite LGI story, probably taught me the most about how to write Close Perspective Third Person, which is my default style. When I'm writing in a characters POV, I rigorously limit what the POV character knows and picks up on. I will plant clues and information that the audience will understand, but the connections a character makes, the reference pools they pull from, their morality and ethics, all of those inform that POV, and what you and I know does not.

That is probably the most important lesson I've ever had in creating my own writing method.

20. Describe your perfect writing conditions.

8 hours of sleep, small breakfast snack like a croissant, decaf beverage, one dextroamphetamine, and no one fucking talk to me for about 2 - 4 hours. I will write 4,000 words.

8. Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.

Lets put this under a cut, and I'll give you some DVD commentary. This is from chapter 2 of you'll need a new name to survive this. It's the point where Benji realizes Ethan is stalking him and does that trick to lose him in the bookshop, then sits outside waiting for him.

Only five minutes later, the door opened, and Bell took one step out before freezing, his eyes falling on Benji.

Got you, Benji thought with a sharp little smile. "You didn't even buy a book? Bit rude."

One of the goals of the early chapters of PT AU was establishing Benji's character as boldly as possible because we were essentially telling a story that canon does not. This is YEARS before MI3, where Benji gets two gd scenes.

To me, the tightrope walk was that I wanted Benji to have a reasonable grip on authority, to be shiny and new and out of his depth but still empowered because of his accomplishments. He has managed to land a good job working for the US government, he successfully emigrated before he was 30 years old, he has an apartment and a cat, he's new to everything in the spy world but he also has a steel spine that frankly he's fucking earned.

Which is a long-winded way of saying that Benji is a bitch and I love him so much.

Bell's face was blank, but Benji could almost feel how fast his brain was moving, weighing his options. Eventually, he settled on huffing out a little chuckle and stepping closer to Benji. "Hi."

Meanwhile, Ethan. MI1-era Ethan is very very smart but very very traumatised. His skillset is rooted in controlling people and predicting them. So Benji, a fucking civilian, catching him off-guard like this is like waving a red flag at a bull. Or dangling a steak over a lion enclosure. Benji doesn't know it yet but he's setting himself up to be a tasty treat for Ethan Hunt circa the late 90s.

"Are you going to kill me or something?" Benji asked. "Is that your spook job, are you a hitman?"

The flash of expression on Bell's face was offended. (This makes me laugh every time. Ethan Hunt is not a killer unless he absolutely must be and he will go out of his way to avoid it. Being an assassin is gross and he doesn't want to be perceived at all bc he's a spy but if he MUST be perceived jfc don't assume he's a HITMAN) "What, no. I just…" Grimacing, he looked away, eyes scanning the other pedestrians around them. "Okay, I'm screwing this up, I can admit that. Can we talk somewhere private?"

Benji didn't even have to think about it. "We can talk somewhere public."

Benji is never going to be an IMF agent but his instincts are wildly correct. And that knowledge comes from a different place! He was a gay punk rock vagabond who dropped out of law school, he knows how to keep out of trouble. He is probably the guy who told his other punk friends "if you are arrested do not say a goddamn thing, just ask for your public defender, don't joke, don't be a smartarse, keep your mouth shut."

The smile that took over Bell's face was lovely, transforming his whole face from storm clouds to something more seasonal. "That's honestly a very smart answer, doc. C'mon, there's a bakery nearby. I'll buy you a coffee. Least I can do."

It really was, so Benji nodded and followed him.

They didn't speak until Bell opened the glass door to another shop and held it open for Benji.

"Wrong hand," Benji said, noticing the small wince Bell let out.

"Inside, doc."

If it isn't obvious, all of the observational skills Benji has canonically have been funneled into his preternatural observation of patients.

Basically, if Benji as a character has a specific set of SPECIAL stats, all of those are the same, he just has different tagged skills in this universe.

Canon Benji is probably.... Guns, Science, and Repair. PT Benji has Medicine, Barter, Speech.

"Not a doctor," Benji said. "You know I'm not a doctor."

"What do you want to drink, doc?"

Ethan is being purposefully annoying and I could write a whole post about Ethan's soft power and the way he manipulates people, but that'd be another post. Short version: some people you seduce, some people you act like a wounded gazelle at, and some people you annoy.

Inside the bakery was loud. It was a strangely open floor plan. A long pastry case cordoned off the seating area for the customers. On the other side was just… the bakery. There were ovens and industrial mixers and rolling racks of cooling bread. In the corner, the espresso machine howled with noise as the milk frother worked.

It smelled divine, like living inside a baguette during a spring shower of dark roast coffee.

It also was a constant racket, which Benji mentioned to Bell as he sat down and slid a dark tea with vanilla syrup across to Benji.

"That's the point," Bell said, slouching back in his chair. "It's very difficult to eavesdrop in here."

Well, he wasn't wrong. Looking to another occupied table nearby, Benji briefly tried to pick out a word of what was being said by the woman seated closest to him. Nothing.

"Right, then," Benji said, attention back on Bell. "Why are you following me?"

"Why?" Bell seemed taken aback.

One of the many moments in the early chapters that establish that Ethan's perception of Normal is not anything approaching actual normal.

"Yes, why."

"Normal intelligence collection."

"On your physical therapist?" Benji asked with a barked laugh.

"Yeah." Bell leaned on his elbows, one hand cupping his own jaw and holding his head up as he made uncomfortably direct eye contact. "You really don't know who I am? Or why some of the appointments on your calendar come with no information?"

Pursing his lips, Benji shook his head.

Blowing out a whistle through his teeth, Bell grinned. "Sorry, that's just… it's new. I'm surprised Dr. Falsion didn't clue you in, but I guess she's not technically supposed to." Lifting his mug, he looked down into it. "People do shit they're not technically supposed to all the time in this town."

Ethan's major trauma at this point is being targeted by Kittridge and the Mole Hunt, and his trust in people to do their jobs is at a critical low that it'll never recover from.

"I don't even know your name," Benji sighed, sipping his own drink. It didn't taste at all like iocaine powder, so he was probably safe for the moment.

Bell rested his temple against the knuckles of his hand, his gaze so intense that Benji didn't know how to look away without making it patently obvious he was unsettled. Whatever Bell saw, it made his lips curve up slight. "Alright. Yeah. My name is Ethan. I work for an organization that shouldn't legally exist, so that's why you don't get anything on me. Even CIA jackboots manipulating local governments are realer than I am." He blinked once. "Also, I was an unprofessional shitheel last session, and I apologize."

Ethan apologizes here because Benji has earned his respect. And also by earning his respect, Ethan is also aware that Benji is not going to be so easy to maneuver around, so he fesses up that he was a prick, softly setting up a different tactic with Benji.

Benji felt his eyes going wider and wider with every sentence until it was a little hard to breathe. So his patient wasn't the American equivalent of an MI5 or MI6 so much as an MI8?

That did sort of start to explain what a pain in the ass he was.

"Shame," Benji managed after a moment of sitting fairly gobsmacked. "I was getting attached to 'Bell.' But I appreciate… all that. Thanks." He frowned. "Are you saying all this because you're actually sorry or are you sick of being stonewalled?"

Benji has a much more cynical mind than Ethan is the funny thing. Benji gets arguably more accurate reads on people than Ethan does. Or, Ethan gets accurate reads but he is continuously poisoned by the hope that people will be better than he expects. So FUNCTIONALLY, Ethan is an optimist and Benji is a realist.

Bell— Ethan— grinned. "That's a very good question. You actually have great instincts, doc. You did a surprisingly good job of shaking me when I was tailing you, especially for a civilian."

One of my favorite running gags is Benji being impossible to tail, so I'm glad we really drove it home the first time it happened. I love consistency in longfic.

"Again: thanks. Don't suppose you'll answer my other question?"

Ethan sipped his coffee, his smile visible around the edge of his cup.

"Right," Benji sighed. At least this felt like progress. And at least he probably wasn't going to be disappeared by a government assassin. That was a relief.

So this entire bit is Ethan reassessing Benji and pivoting his methods and tactics, setting up for a better way of handling Benji. And also being kind of charmed by him.

If it's asks you want, asks you shall get! I remember you mentioning that you think Spot will probably die in the next movie. However, Miles says something like "Spot only wants to be respected, like everyone else," before he gets interrupted by Miguel. Maybe this could hint at Spot making it out alive. Or this is just wishful thinking on my part. And if he really does die in the next movie, then it will be due to his own actions, like using up all his powers or smth like that.

tbh, my reasoning for spot dying can be boiled down to a few points. but first, i wanna talk about...

why i absolutely believe spot shouldnt be killed off.

1. the current narrative is that miles is effectively breaking the cycle that is "canon", giving a big 'ol Fuck You to whats defined as fate and inevitable pain. spots trying to force miles in to the narrative hes made up in his head (which coincides with whats meant to be "canon"), but things dont have to be that way and miles KNOWS that. i think itd be thematically appropriate if miles breaks this cycle of cruelty and allows spot to survive, making him have to face his own actions and crippling lack of self worth and actually work to make things better, for himself and everyone hes hurt.

2. im overly attached to spot being disability-coded, for more on that, please read this amazing post that opened my third eye. anyway, the tl;dr is that spot behaves and is treated a lot like a newly, visibly disabled person, subject to the same prejudices as they are as well as being forced to navigate an entirely new body, as somebody might have to if they were to receive a workplace injury that left them disfigured and permanently disabled. this is also why id like it if he doesnt get turned human again/"cured" at the end. it just doesnt feel like itd be satisfying for things to end like that for him. if anything, the most satisfying conclusion to his arc would if he got stopped, and then be given the opportunity to finally take responsibility for his own actions, and acknowledge his own fault in what happened to him and that it ultimately wasnt miles that did this to him and that even so, one of the things thats NOT spots fault is how he got treated for what happened to him so he really should get understanding and validation in that department. he also deserves to learn how to accept himself (beyond seeing his new form and powers as a tool to pursue revenge) as he is instead of it being framed likes hes only worthy of respect and recovery once he becomes human again.

3. i like him a lot and thinks he deserves better than to just be killed off.

why i think that despite it all, spot will be killed off:

1. any form of redemption or willingly giving up entirely depends on if spot can bring himself to listen to reason and take responsibility for his actions. something weve seen that hes notoriously bad at.

2. why would spot willingly choose to give up and back down when hes got absolutely nothing left for him in life? theres literally nobody waiting for him on the other side of this if he does. no family. no friends. no job. nothing. he might consider himself too far gone.

3. while 90s cartoon spot DID redeem himself, he did it through a heroic sacrifice...

4. lbr spiderman villains usually either get jailed or killed off. why would things be different for spot. because hes sympathetic? a lot of villains are. hes also insanely powerful and this could end up as a "destroys himself"" situation.

5. spot might be about to commit mass murder, which...definitely makes it harder to consider him as somebody "worthy of redemption".

6. ive watched so many of my favorite characters die. im not kidding i have the worst luck. 98% of them have been killed off and i think spot might be next in line bc its unlikely the writers care about him as much as i do. :(

Happy Birthday Gregory Edward “Greg” Hemphill born 14th December 1969 in Glasgow.

I think the majority of us will know who Greg is, one half of the successful partnership with partner, Ford Kiernan that is Still Game.

The family left Scotland when Greg was twelve years old, and he spent much of his childhood in Montreal, Canada. Greg returned home to study at Glasgow University, in the Department of Theatre, Film and Television Studies, graduating MA in 1992.

Greg made his acting debut at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 1990. His work includes roles in God Plus Support in the Theatre and Only an Excuse. He is a regular on the comedy circuit. He also ventured into radio as the original presenter of football show, Off the Ball on BBC Radio Scotland and The Eddie Mair Show. As well as writing for Still Game and Chewin The Fat he has written for Channel 4 programme Space Cadets, BBC’s Pulp Video and The Ferguson Theory.

Still Game has transferred successfully onto the big stage and has sold out countless times at The Hydro. The third and final run of the shows Still Game: The Final Farewell was officially announced on 1st November 2018. The ninth and final series of Still Game was screened in 2019 The show won an ‘Outstanding Contribution’ TV award at Scottish Baftas that year.

Away from his work Greg is a bit of a card shark, he plays in competitions, he has won over thirty thousand dollars in competitions and was third in the Scottish Championships in 2002

Greg has been kind of quiet of late, but the good news is he returns to our screens on Hogmanay with a new sketch show. The show is set to bring up all the biggest talking points of this year – from COP26 to the wild swimming phenomenon. The show titled “Queen of the New Year” will star Greg and Robert Florence along with Barbara Rafferty, Clive Russell, Gayle Telfer Stevens, Louise McCarthy, John Gordon Sinclair and Juliet Cadzow, so some familiar faces from Still Game and Burnistoun.

Greg is married to Balamory star Julie Wilson Nimmo, 46, they announced they are to their own production company launch Blue Haven Productions Limited. The latest from Greg and Julie who live in the West End of Glasgow, is they will be teaming up who live in the West End, are appearing together in Olga da Polga, the first-ever television adaptation of Paddington creator Michael Bond’s beloved books. The new 13-part, live-action and animation series is produced by Glasgow-based production company Marakids, and it has been made with the full support of the Bond family.

Greg and Julie have been married since 1999, they met while both were working on the 90s sketch show Pulp Video. Greg says of them;

“We met on sketch shows, and we always laughed a lot. We still do. There are lots of laughs, lots of carry on when we work together.”

Greg and his Still Game sidekick Ford Kiernan launched a whisky, named after their characters Jack and Vioctor two or three years back, and the knobs at Jack Daniels objected after the pair later applied to register the name as a trademark for whisky and other drink-related services. The matter ended up going to an arbitrator. The Tennessee-based company claimed the drink, named after Still Game’s two main characters, could confuse customers and make them think they were endorsing the Scotch blend.

The firm argued the name could allow the Scottish whisky to cash in on the recognition of the well-known brand.

Hemphill, who plays the character Victor, provided evidence during the dispute while managing director Justin Welch provided evidence for Jack Daniel’s.

Hemphill said Still Game was a popular show across the UK, particularly in Scotland, arguing that “Jack and Victor” has become synonymous with the BBC programme.

It was a great triumph for the small guy versus golliath, Jack Daniel’s was ordered to pay £3,200 to Jack and Victor Limited, the company used to market the whisky earlier this year.

If there is an opportunity to steal he will take it. What he lacks in power he makes up for in speed across the board. Now let's see what he can do against Japan.

Italy vs. Japan:

Pitch 1: Japan starts with a fastball at 91 mph. Italy swings and fouls it off. "Strike one!"

Pitch 2: Next pitch is a curveball at 79 mph. Italy watches it go by. "Ball one."

Pitch 3: Japan throws a slider at 85 mph. Italy connects and sends a line drive to right field at 105 mph. France dives but can't make the catch. Italy sprints to second base for a leadoff double! "A great start for the Freedom Fighters!" And this is exactly what the Tsunami's didn't want to happen. Nothing stresses a pitcher out like Italy taking every opportunity to steal bases.

Next up is Denmark, number 69, playing shortstop. A dynamic player with quick reflexes, let’s see what he can do.

Denmark vs. Japan:

Pitch 1: Japan delivers a fastball at 92 mph. Denmark swings and misses. "Strike one!"

Pitch 2: A changeup at 81 mph. Denmark connects, a grounder to third base at 99 mph. China fields it cleanly, checks Italy at second, and throws to first. "Out number one!"

"Now, we have Russia, number 27, the catcher with a commanding presence. He’s got the power to drive in runs."

Russia vs. Japan:

Pitch 1: Japan throws a curveball at 78 mph. Russia watches it go by. "Ball one."

Pitch 2: A fastball at 91 mph. Russia swings and misses. "Strike one!"

Pitch 3: Japan delivers a slider at 84 mph. Russia makes contact, a high fly ball to left field at 107 mph. Spain is back, back, and makes the catch. Italy tags up and advances to third base. "Two outs, runner on third!" Another amazing catch by Spain!

Now stepping up is England, number 4, playing third base. He’s looking to bring Italy home and tie this game up.

England vs. Japan:

Pitch 1: Japan starts with a fastball at 90 mph. England swings and misses. "Strike one!"

Pitch 2: Next pitch is a curveball at 77 mph. England fouls it off. "Strike two!"

Pitch 3: Japan throws a changeup at 80 mph. England connects and sends a grounder to second base at 96 mph. Finland dives, fields it cleanly, but his throw to first is wide! Canada can't handle it, and Italy takes off for home! The throw to the plate is late, and Italy scores! "The game is tied 1-1! What a play by Italy!" And you just wittiness the type of stress Italy puts on an outfield, what should have been an easy play was fumbled, all because they were worried about what he was doing over there at third. And it came back to bite them. That ties up the game, let's switch sides!

End of the Top of the Third Inning:

Freedom Fighters: 1 run, 1 hit, 1 error

Bottom of the Third Inning:

Leading off for the Tsunami Titans is Scotland, wearing number 11 and playing center field. Known for his robust playing style, advertised by that monster catch he made in the first inning. Let’s see if he can get something started.

Scotland vs. America:

Pitch 1: America throws a fastball at 98 mph. Scotland swings and misses. "Strike one!"

Pitch 2: Another fastball at 99 mph. Scotland connects, a line drive to right field at 104 mph. Germany runs in and makes the catch. "Out number one!" Catch there, was a fast ball but he made it look routine.

We're back to the top of the line up, Japan, number 8, the pitcher and fan favorite. The crowd is on their feet with their special chant. There's an intimidating stare down from America and Japan at the plate

Japan vs. America:

Pitch 1: America delivers a fastball at 98 mph. Japan swings and misses. "Strike one!"

Pitch 2: Another fastball at 99 mph. Japan fouls it off. "Strike two!"

Pitch 3: America throws a curveball at 85 mph. Japan makes contact, a grounder to shortstop at 100 mph. Denmark fields it cleanly and throws to first. "Out number two!" Japan couldn't capitalize on teh opportunity there. Nice little celebration from Denmark and America.

Pitch 2: Another fastball at 98 mph. China swings and misses. "Strike one!"

Pitch 3: America delivers a slider at 86 mph. China connects and sends a grounder to second base at 102 mph. Ireland fields it cleanly and throws to first. "Out number three!" Ireland is a crucial second baseman to America's team. He seems to always know when it's coming his way even before it's hit.

Tsunami Titans: 0 runs, 0 hits, 0 errors

Game tied 1-1

And that concludes the third inning here at the Uzumaki Dome. The Freedom Fighters manage to tie the game with some heads-up base running by Italy and a costly error by the Titans. Stay tuned as we head into the fourth inning! Will the Tsunami Titans regain the lead, or will the Freedom Fighters pull ahead? We'll find out soon enough

You were... strange, the deity thought. And not necessarily in a bad way, just... different.

“Good morning, handsome!” You called after him when he returned to the camp. He had finished making his rounds around their perimeter and had come back at last. Everyone was awake and waiting for their champion to finish cooking so that may eat for the morning.

He looked your way in acknowledgement but he wasn’t sure what to make it.

You had instantly taken a liking to him, something he wasn’t used to, and had insisted on raining flattery in his direction at any and every waking moment. Mostly at times when he least expected it.

He nods, unsure of the appropriate reaction. 

The boys look at him wearily. Even his old host still had trouble looking him in the eye. He supposes that’s one reason why he’s gotten attached to you so quickly. You don’t seem to mind how he towers over the group or how he doesn’t emote. You were content.

In return, he allows you to chatter his ear off or to hang off of him when you get bored. You don’t weight much to his supernatural strength. You seem to enjoy the way he can lift you with ease and not break a sweat. And with one arm no less.

“Did you have a nice walk?” You saunter up to him and place yourself right next to him.

He nods once more. What would happen if he scared you off? Or should he do something that would push you away? The Deity refuses to consider such things.

“Good!” You reply with a blinding smile. “I’m glad. We were thinking about traveling to the east today and seeing if we can track down the monsters that seem to be congregating near a town.”

He nods once more, hanging onto your words. The youngest, bless him, comes up to him as well. He would be second to be the least afraid of him. However, the other boys pull him away and he feeds off of their anxious energy. The deity wonders if it has shaped the way the boy sees him.

He reaches out to ruffle his hair and he smiles back at him. The deity allows himself to smile back and he hears you gasp by his side.

“Look at that!” You grin. “The very sun itself has blessed us on this day!”

“Oh please.” The one called ‘Wind’ rolls his eyes.

“You’re just as dazzling as a diamond.” You continue. “Who would have thought you looks so pretty when you smile?”

The deity can feel himself lose his control on the situation. This is too much. Why would you say that? How does he respond to that? Are you like this everyone else?

“Do it again!” You grab onto his arm and swing it around. “Come on, pretty boy, please?”

He can’t help but scoff. Now he knows you’re just toying with him. Still... he can’t get mad at the thought when you’re arguably the most adorable of the group. Besides... the attention is nice. It feels good to be acknowledges in ways other than his destructive nature.

He smiles softly again at your request and you look like you’re won the biggest prize at the fair.

“How come you entertain them?” The youngest pouts. “I could have asked you the same thing and you wouldn’t have done anything.”

The deity can’t help but to laugh. The group freezes at the sound. It’s the first time he’s made a sound. Shaking his head, he bends at the knee and looks The Hero of Winds in the eyes to the best ability that he can.

“I am capable of a great deal of violence that this world no longer needs me to extend.” He says. His deep voice booms in the otherwise quiet camp. It command attention even though he is speaking at a relatively quiet volume. From the corner of his eye, he sees you pause, go red in the face and sit yourself down.

Strange, he’ll figure that out later.

“However-” He continues and smiles more openly. “They amuse me. How could I not amuse them in return?”

Wind bite his lip and sighs. He continues to pout. “Not fair.”

“It’s completely fair.” He chuckles. The deity turns to you and smirks. “Right, Gorgeous?”

“Are we going to do something about them?” Legend sighs.

First had shyly tucked a strand of your hair behind your ear, talking to you in a hush voice. You smile and blush, looking down before meeting his eyes again. You’re both standing close to each other, borderline chest to chest.

“Let them be.” Sky swipes at the other boy. “They’re not bothering anyone.”

“They’re bothering me by being obnoxious.” Legend rolls his eyes.

“I think it’s sweet.” Wind places his cheeks against his fists. “He was so cold when he first joined. I didn’t even think he knew how to smile.”

Quietly, they can hear First’s laugh travel the distance of the campsite to where the group of boys sit. You had said something to the man. Somehow you were the only one who was able to receive a positive reaction. There was something about you that allowed First to lower his guard. He seemed to do it willingly more and more as time went by. Either that or it was completely subconscious.

No one knew which one was the better option.

“I do wish he would either man up and do something about it or that our dearest companion would make a move.” Warrior grumbled.

“Don’t be jealous over your lack of love life.” Twilight punches of the young man. “They’re happy. Isn’t that enough?”

“Until they have to say goodbye.” Legend says.

Twilight stumbles in his attitude for a moment and others who are listening all sit a bit straighter. Faltering, Twilight can only shrug. “Then we can’t fault them for enjoying it while they can.”

“Especially since they already know it.” Wild adds, putting a hand on Twilight’s shoulder.

You squeal suddenly and garner all the attention again. You dash away from First who sports a wicked grin on his face. He gives chase as you laugh, just barely managing to dodge him as you run around the camp like children. First doesn’t give up and from what can be seen, is actively holding back from catching you too soon.

The group falls silent as they watch you both play. First changes direction, quick enough with his footwork to catch you off guard and is quick to take you into his arms. You’re both laughing.

“I didn’t think he had it in him.” Time smirks.

“If he can, why can’t you?” Hyrule teases, punching him on the arm. “You’re only fun for two minutes then call a quits.”

“Shush.” Time doesn’t even address it. “This isn’t about me.”

Looking back to where First and you stand.... First is the only one standing. He has you completely held up in his arms. You’re nose to nose, once again talking lowly in hushed and tender voices. Gentle blushes highlight both of your faces, making your smiles seem brighter and your bodies and mind seem unburdened. If only for a moment.

Four stand up and dusts his tunic off. “I’m going to tell them.”

“Don’t you dare!” Sky hisses.

Unintimidated, Four continues to walk off with Sky, Twilight and Wild all reaching to stop him. Wind is the only one who actually leaves his spot around the fire and tackles Four to the ground. The two of the promptly begin to wrestle in the dirt.

Finally- you and First look over at the group, breaking apart at last.

You dash over and pull Wind off of the other boy. “What on earth is happening?”

First shakes his head and pinches his nose. “...children...”

“Hey!” Wind says indignantly only to make a face. It’s his ‘I’m about to lie’ face. You’ve gotten quite familiar with it and decide to humor him.

“Four said he could take me in a fight.” Wind proclaims. “I went to prove him wrong.”

He wasn’t sure how it happened.

One moment he was asleep and the next he was awake enough to feel the crack in his confinement. Confused and ever curious, he manages to get a glimpse through.

It’s impossibly bright and green. His cage is picked up gently. He can feel the gentle way it is moved and he comes face to face with the most beautiful creatures he’s seen in a all his years.

“The Old Man’s not gonna like this.” They hiss.

The deity can feel his breath catch. Their voice.... How melodic...

“What do we do?” Another voice hisses. A young boy. Like a boy he used to know. “We needed it. We’re under fire-”

On cue, they both scream and he’s dropped. Estranged and disoriented, the war god knows the sounds of battle when they’re near. His previous host never used him for personal gain. Only to protect and preserve. He can follow through with those simple wishes.

He reaches beyond his escape and breaks through his confinement.

With a deep breath he steps out into freedom at last. He has no clue what has been happening nor does he know where the voices have gone. Surely, in their panic they have deserted him.

But monsters begin to swarm the area and his instincts take over once more. He scours the area for more each and every time the hoards fall to his blade. This battle is easier than some of his pervious ones. The numbers thin out within minutes and he’s left attempting to find what has happened to his pervious host- or to the voice that had carried him so preciously.

A battle cry roars over him the sound of an explosion. He sees their face fly through the sky, arrows knocked and firing as they tumble through the air. His breath is taken from him that moment. He watches them pull out their shield and land against the ground with bent knees, following the momentum of their glide to stay standing. They never ceased to fire.

What battle prowess, he thinks. He’s not entirely sure that they saw him.

More monsters flood his little clearing once more, all of them running after the most intriguing human. He can’t afford to lose them before he even learns their name.

He deals with them swiftly and mercilessly. They would have never even known they were being chased to begin with.

With a pregnant pause, it appears to him that those were the last of them. Sheathing his sword, he goes to look for someone who may be of need of his assistance. Perhaps someone with potential blast wounds.

As he walks and his adrenaline dies, he realizes that being free at last feels very different than when he walked around through his hosts. His thoughts feel quiet with no one to bounce off of them. They almost echo.

It’s disorienting.

“Where is it?!” A voice snarls.

“Old Man listen-”

There they are, he smiles to himself. When he enters the hastily made camp, everyone falls silent. His previous host is the first to flash recognition through his eyes. He is no longer the boy the deity once knew. He is now a man.

The deity looks at him fondly, almost with pride. 

He scans the group and it’s full of nothing but children. Or children well on their way to becoming men. And then there was you, the one that stood apart from them. The one that wasn’t a chosen.  

His heart beats at last within your presence and he takes a step towards you. Many of the boys move to step between him and his goal. The man... which he can now presume to be currently called Old Man, is the first to step in between.

He says nothing.

Amused, the deity raises his hand and presses it to his head, rubbing it as he presses down. It messes up his hair and he looks up at the larger being with confusion and less hostility.

Link knew he was in trouble the second he saw the dice roll a four instead of literally anything lower. That was what he bet on and was now about to pay the price.

The boys around him whistled and ‘oohh’-ed at his misfortune.

One of them smirks, a devilish look that made Link brace even more for impact that was probably necessary. “So, that’s a loss for you.”

“No kidding.”

The smirk widens. “You see our little friend over there, fixing their tunic?”

Link looks back at you. You looks as lovely as ever. With the sun hitting your hair in a halo, the greenery around you almost bends towards you, to frame your body in a way that the goddesses themselves could envy.

Link feels his heart drop to his stomach with dread.

There are snickers around him and the dread hardens into lead, keeping him moving around again.

“Go flirt with them, Loverboy.”

“You’re joking.” Link swings back hissing.

That smirk on other boy’s face is ever present and it only adds salt to already sore bruise to his pride. “Nope.”

The rest of them are looking at him expectantly and Link sighs.

“You lost the bet.”

“I did.”

“What are you waiting for then?”

For the ground to swallow me whole, he thinks as he gets to his feet. Link doesn’t answer the young man and instead, he makes his way over to you, hoping he doesn’t actually ruin his chances with you.

Sky

You were nearly done with your work when you heard some footsteps coming your way. You look up.

Sky is red in the face and he’s not looking where he’s going. You raise an eyebrow and watch him for a moment. He looks lost in thought and concerned.

He stops in front of you and you can see him blink back into the present moment. You smile up at him, trying to be kind. “Tough luck?”

He sucks in a breath but slowly lets it go, moving to sit next to you. “Something like that, yeah.”

“Ouch. Maybe next time it’ll be better.” You shrug and scoot over to give him room. You turn back to the mending in your hand. “How bad was it?”

He groans.

“World ending, huh?”

Sky then turns his head to look at you. You don’t return it, focused on your work still but you do see it in the peripheral vision. It makes you smirk.

My Rants about the 90s TV show Family Matters

I've recently just watched the entire sitcom "Family Matters" & I'm amazed (in a bad way) that when many of us, including myself, absolutely hate Laura, we r immediately referred to as "Myra Stans", but no honey. I haven't seen that many people talk about Laura's BS as much as they love to talk about Myra's red flags and now i just want to get it out of my chest.

I'm by no means what you would call a "Myra Stan" but i hate Laura from the bottom of my heart. Let me tell the reasons why. Many r too blind to see that this biatch is getting away by cheating on Stefan several times. When was cheating ok? And her excuse, u ask? Well, she said that she's confused and got feelings for both Stefan and Steve but is that a good reason to cheat? Absolutely effing not! There's never a good excuse for cheating and leading someone on. She's as horrible as her cheating brother. I thought she was a "goody two shoes", just like her dumb friends turn her out to be, at the beginning, that is. But all that changed, ever since i saw her begging Steve to be Stefan, as far as to ruin his transformation chamber, intentionally, so that Stefan could stay forever. She's shallow, conceited, selfish, fake victim and a gold digger. Why you ask she's a gold digger? Well, she once made a certain comment about how she would marry a guy who would buy her expensive jewelries.

Anyways, this show is my favorite and i admire the good lessons, humors, accepting yourself and loving urself as u r, wholesomeness but many things tried to sabotage this show a lot. I care about this show enough to actually criticize it . 🙂

Some examples include:

1) Harriet being played by a different actress right near the end of the series (believe me, it was so uncomfortable and weird for me to watch Carl kiss and hug a different woman that doesn't even look like harriet at all, even Reginald, Carl's actor, admitted that he felt weird and divorced),

2) then the writers actually took us, the audience, as a total fool, for thinking that we wouldn't notice that Judy disappeared (first, u bring one judy and then replace her with a different actress right after the first episode, but still that was fine by me, since it was only 1 pilot episode and we didn't get attached to that actress like Harriet or anything),

3) then you make richie be a toddler all of a sudden right after season 1 (which feels ridiculous). I know babies feel boring for the show but y bring a baby in the first place then.

4) then u show us Rachel being with one man for one episode and feeling guilty about dating ever since her husband died but again, like any typical sitcom, u make her date multiple guys from time to time without giving any logical explanation as to y did she break up with the first guy or the second, third, fourth and so on (Rachel did seem to have some chemistry with some of those guys too but every one of those guys appeared for only 1 episode ).

5) Next, you make Harriet's long lost dad appear for 1 episode and that's just it. Nobody ever felt the need to introduce him to the whole family or something, of course (and the show is supposed to be showing that family matters 🤦🏻‍♀️).

6) Eventually, u made everybody disappear (although Rachel and grandma appeared occasionally) and bring an annoying boring ass wannabe kid called 3J. Oh for the love of god, please 🙄😒. U removed judy, fired her because u couldn't have given her any sort of significant role and u thought that three's a crowd but yet u managed to add another male kid? It seems sexist to me, honestly, cuz apparently, all i saw was those stereotypical girls (Laura, Maxine )who r boy crazies, would be fine sucking any boy's lips, Maxine being that typical sitcom sidekick friend of the main character, having an obsessive stalker like myra and other than that, u had no idea of how to write that many female teens. It was either because u were stereotyping female teen characters or you were ignorant and lazy or u just didn't like judy at all to give her a different, non boy crazy role. On the contrary, look at how they made many male teen characters, there r a variety like Waldo (being a doofus yet skilled), Weasel, Eddie (being self centered, flirtatious and stupid), Steve (a nerd scientist) and so many more.

7) Also, they never gave any proper explanation as to y did Rachel left her son and went away, or y did Judy disappear (in my opinion, it would have been amazing if judy was kidnapped in s4 for being a cop's daughter and it was a real tragedy for the winslows but in S9, carl manages to finally find her and that would have been a way more amazing way to end the final season rather than that trash getting proposed by 2 guys). You never even seemed to give a proper excuse as to y did Waldo disappear. Ur just too good at making characters vanish from time to time. And yes, I absolutely despise 3j. He had no purpose in being there. It was stupid and annoying.

8) Did I forget to mention that how you ruined Steve character? And no, it's not because Steve became the main character but because of how he treated Myra. Hear me out. He did say at the beginning that if that "thing" ever feels the same way about him, then he's gonna ditch Myra, right at that moment. But, what type of a selfish, cold hearted absurd offer is that? It's like ur saying that I'm just gonna hang out with u, kiss u up until my crush loves me back cuz I'm lonely but if my crush ever return my feelings then I'm gonna ditch u right there, right then. And yes, Myra was insane enough to agree to that but deep down she thought that she could change his mind, which is not okay as well.

You see, it's not just that "offer" or "condition" that Steve offered but he was a cheater as well. Ugh. He was a cheater because he said that if his crush feels the same way, then he's gonna stop dating Myra right? But Steve was cheating way before his so called crush liked him back and he was already taken by Myra. In the prom, he was kissed by that snob and instead of pushing her away, he actually accepted it (even if that's ur crush kissing u, it was cheating nevertheless). It seemed like the writers had a fetish of putting Laura and Steve into compromising or any sort of situations together while make Myra have almost zero romantic moments with Steve where they r both enjoying each other's companion, mutually. Most of the moments we have from Steve and Myra r where Myra forcefully shoves her face down to Steve's throat, lol.

I could tell this right from season 1, that the writers decided to put Laura and Steve together as a couple no matter what (based on all the situations they were enjoying putting them into). You would have to be a dumbass if u actually got shocked that Laura liked Steve or something cuz certainly although there was no romantic tension between them but the forceful situations that they got themselves into was enough to make that happen.

Anyways, Laura kissed Steve while she was under the influence of love potion, alcohol but did he ever said anything about being taken by Myra or being faithful? Well, no, absolutely effing not. He also got kissed by that french girl but even then he didn't push her away and he literally forgot Myra's name. Ouch. All I'm saying is this series highlights many issues on the surface but has a serious problem of normalizing infidelity.

We r supposed to be believing that Steve is not perfect but has a heart of gold but how can we do such when we have seen him break multiple stuff, and isn't that much sincerely apologetic or anything, for most of the time, then even more importantly, being a cheater. Remember, once Steve was dating another girl, back in season 2, well, what did he do that time? That time, instead of being disloyal, he introduced the girl to some hot guy and then the girl left him. Well that's way more better than the way he treated Myra who was so much into him for himself, his personality, attire and Hobbies. Plus, he was so manipulative cuz everytime he broke something, screwed up, instead of properly apologizing and being humble, he would just use some sad pitiful words with the cute puppy eyes and expect the Winslows to forgive him, everytime and if they (Carl) didn't then he would often challenge Carl to a fight or something. And also, Steve was a hypocrite for being pissed at Myra while he himself stalked the Winslows for so many years, even as far as to go in their bedrooms! (and I'm aware that Myra was a bit more extra, didn't respect his personal boundaries but still, he was a stalker too but it's ok for him to do such since apparently he was a main character. ) Ok, well, enough about Steve.

9) Now, the tramp, Laura. Well, what can I say. I just don't know that what did Steve see in her. She's so basic, manipulative little piece of shit. I don't usually hate characters that much to actually write about my hatred on the internet but gosh she makes me sick. Now she was ok in s1, s2 and I still didn't like her at that time but I also didn't hate her but then I started to hate her ever since the Stefan thing happened. She's pathetic. Her character got ruined as well, thanks to the writers.

You see, I lost my patience when I saw her cheating on Stefan with Curtis while Stefan was working and her telling Harriet that she's not gonna be hurt for being a slut and cheating on 2 guys. Like really? That's the first thing that comes to ur mind? Sorry sis, but ur sick. It would have still been fine if u were a kid but no u were about 18 or 19 years old. Steve went through so much to give u a boy toy but u can't even be faithful to him and then all you can think of when being confronted is that u r not gonna be hurt. Talk about falsely victimizing urself. And the fact that she even said yes to Stefan's proposal at Disney world (that may have happened when she was a teen) but the least u could do is be faithful if ur not gonna actually marry him, duh.

She broke up with Ted cuz he complimented/ flirted with another girl. And that's cheating in her eyes. Well then what was she doing with Curtis, Stefan and Steve? And also why didn't she get the karma of being confronted and y didn't every boy that she ever used just ditch her right at the spot? Talk about hypocrisy and main character pros.

Also, she wasn't just a cheating slut but also a very bad friend. She often treated Maxine like trash even though Maxine treated her so good. Once Maxine warned her about a guy who only dates girls for sex and Maxine, herself, dated that guy, once. Yet that conniving bitch didn't bother to believe her, brushed her aside, made her feel like she's nuts, didn't care about her feelings and then saw it happen right then. I mean, it happened in s2. Imagine how mature Maxine was for that age of not being jealous of ur so called best friend dating ur ex and instead give her advice for her wellbeing. And what does this bitch do as an adult? She fights with Maxine cuz Maxine was dating her ex boy toy, Curtis, ridicules Maxine's ambition of being a beautician. Again, an egoistic hypocrite. Also remember how many times, she told Myra that she's her friend, well, which "friend" makes out with their friend's boyfriend while they are still dating each other? She also assured Myra that she's never gonna have romantic feelings for Steve, but lookie here. Not only did she have feelings but she made Steve break up with Myra. Not defending what Myra did, but her fear of losing Steve and going through extreme measures to make sure that it doesn't happen was really reasonable and understandable, especially when Steve started to live with that bitch and everything. I can't blame Myra for being so insecure cuz guess what, eventually, her fears did come true, unfortunately when she was not even being a psycho (back in the prom) and behind her back. 😢

Laura may have good sides (like the times, she stood up for Steve, being patient with Steve although he was being an obsessive stalker, help Maxine once when she was dating a drug dealer in s9) but it's as the saying goes " everybody has some good traits". So, she may had those good traits but that didn't make her an overall good person. Also about the drug dealing bf, I think the writers were just running out of ideas and that's y they thought of repeating that same type of plot from s2 (where Maxine warns about the guy who dates girls for sex) with boring lame S9 (where Laura warns Maxine about an older dude who sells drugs).

10) now about Eddie Winslow. Well, he, like many other characters didn't have that much of a character development. He was always selfish, shallow, surrounded himself with any random pretty girls, had no sense of loyalty or self awareness whatsoever, always got himself into some big troubles for how much stupid and naive he was, was very easy to manipulate and couldn't make time for his dad, many times, apparently cuz of how much "busy" he was despite being a weak student. I got nothing to say about him except him wanting to be a police officer was so fuckin forced. There was no development for that interest whatsoever. Once, back in s1 or s2, Carl decided to take Eddie with him and show him how police force works or something like that. But he didn't go. It was Steve as usual who went (I also felt like the writers wanted to make Carl be close to Steve than his own freaking THREE kids!). Well that's the only thing we know of Eddie ever being close to be a cop and he wasn't interested at all.

When he said that he didn't know what he wants to do with life, in s9, it felt so relatable for me. I also don't have any goals, am 20 years old, still going to boring college, not performing well as I did back in O levels, and have no friends or anything. So for me, it was a slap in the the face when I saw Eddie suddenly thinking that he's gonna be a cop just by thinking about it for 1 night. And the fact that he just started being a cop and yet got shot immediately cuz apparently the fake Harriet was scared that he might get hurt.

All I'm trying to say is that whenever someone warns someone else about something in this series, it just literally actually happens to them right after a few minutes which makes it boring and very predictable.

11) whatever happened to Rachel's place and Steve and Laura working there? It Was never answered. Whatever happened to lieutenant murtaugh? He was a funny good looking guy, in my eyes. I missed him so bad ever since he left and Weasle. Lieutenant was way better than that boring old captain savage or that other old dude, commissioner. Another thing was, Carl was never developed as a character as well. He was always hot tempered, which is ok but also sexist and it remained that way till s9, like come on. Also what happened to Stefan after he proposed that bitch for the second time? Like where did he go without proper confrontation?

12) Stefan character was so boring. I wish we didn't see him at all or if we did, then we saw him only once and not that many times cuz it took all the amusement of watching a nerd turn into a hot guy. We should also note that Stefan, like any other humans, do have flaws, so saying that he's selfish and that's y whatever that bitch Laura did to him was ok is actually never ok. He deserved someone way better than that trainwreck. Also, remember that Stefan is not a normal human but a clone of Steve, an experiment and so he's supposed to be having way more flaws than a normal person but alas, we saw none of that.

All we know is that he was self centered at first but then Steve fixed him and then he just became a one dimensional character who can only sweet talk people, do cool stunts, recite romantic poems and overall be a lover boy. He could be narcissistic or even be a womanizer and cheat on Laura's back while he was modelling. He could also be workaholic but we barely saw any flaws ever since Steve "fixed" him. He did say though that he's not gonna leave Laura ever again after coming back to her (although it was her who insisted that he pursues his career) from France and being fired from his job but yet he went to Italy. See, I really hate inconsistencies. So, that lie is supposed to be his flaw or was making a simple deal with Myra was his flaw? Who knows. But I definitely am not fond of this character, however, I don't hate him and he certainly didn't deserve all that.

13) Myra didn't deserve that treatment but she wasn't a good girl either. She was infact a psycho and I'm not defending any of these female characters. I only love Harriet, Estelle and Rachel (gotta love Rachel's beautiful voice).

Look, I have to give credit where it is due. So, I give it to the writers for showing us the early red flags that Myra had from the very beginning which eventually led up to the events in s9. But still I feel like things were a bit blown out of proportion or got far fetched.

She did have stalking behavior developing as she got older but we also saw that she was trying to befriend Laura and got stabbed in the back. Laura and Steve kissed multiple times but did she know anything about it. Absolutely no. They never told her anything. Two cheaters flocking together. Steve was kissed by a french girl without his consent but he enjoyed it and accepted it and forgot about Myra. Well, did he ever told that story to myra? Absolutely fuckin not. No wonder she went psycho and put a cam on his glasses. Her sudden extreme personality seemed like an exaggeration, even more, since she started to trust Steve and be a bit more less of a stalker ever since that nude art incident. But yeah, that girl got no self respect since she accepted the condition for dating Steve even though she was obviously not ok with it. I would have loved it if at the end Myra and Stefan dated each other or something.

14) last but not least, this series highlights many important issues like drinking, drugs, gang, gambling, racial issues, coercion, peer pressure and so many other stuff but it also portrayed many harmful stuff in a positive way.

For starters, one of them being, you stalking ur crush and helping them would mean that even if it takes years, still they r gonna fall for you. That's a very harmful message. In reality, most of the time, nobody's crush r gonna return their feelings. You trying too hard to impress them, be on their best side is either going to end up with you being used and taken advantage of and being hurt or you being miserable since ur crush barely know that u even exist and r in love with someone else.

I would have loved it if this happened: if Steve was just single at the end of the series. He dumps Myra for being obsessive psycho and maybe that other bitch Laura may come back crawling to Steve but by that time, Steve had already moved on. He was happy being single and he wants nothing to do with Myra and just be friends with Laura. Nothing more than that. Steve realizes that he's too good to love and take someone who rejected him for years and only came back because they got no better boy toy. Steve realizes his worth, he self improves himself not for being more desirable by women but just for himself. He also never cheated on any women he dated, which was mostly one woman and that's Myra. I've seen many say that Myra should have Steve since she accepts him as his true self but she also didn't allow him to breathe, so I don't think accepting someone for themselves is everything that matters.

Another thing I hated and didn't find funny at all was how Steve's parents treated him. We don't see them, again a common thing that happens to certain characters in any sitcoms, but they did abuse him, left him all alone and then we hear a stupid laughing track everytime he mentions something awful that his parents did to him.

All in all, I really loved Steve, at least at the beginning but after seeing him being disloyal but not held accountable in any form, I don't know anymore. I wanted to love him. He's too funny and cute but writers destroyed him and made him whiny and annoying. I hate the writers so much for these drastic changes and decisions. The ratings decreased for a reason. It was their lazy ass's faults. Not jaleel white's or any other actors' fault for that Matter. Jaleel white pulled out so many characters in 1 series and made it seem effortless. I love that guy. He's super talented and I love Jo Marie's sassiness and that savage strong voice. All the actors and actresses did a wonderful job. But not the producers, writers, studios, whatever. I blame them for creating tension between jaleel and other cast mates and the declination of the plot. I, myself came up with Many interesting things that they could do for s9, so obviously they could as well, if not better but they didn't care enough to do such. They really didn't seem to give a fuck about the audience anyways. Since they were ignorant, they could simply stop and end the series while it was still in it's prime like end it after s6 or s7. Anyhow, I just felt like ranting cuz I love this series (at least the first 8 seasons) but not that many characters in it and mainly because I hate inconsistencies and all.

Thumbnails for Poster

i started by putting together a collage of images for inspiration mainly that of movies and drama, action type story books with use of positive/negative and other dynamic techniques to use symbols and have elements going on within them or even objects being one thing and it making up part of another shape.

these are the first few thumbnails i came up with. my intent is to really bring home that idea of aregaiate fighting the demons who took his brother and his own demons being the werelynx side of him.

these are the extra ones i drew a little more recently to add up to about 16 thumbnail ideas.

this one was the first idea that had which orignally the text was rotated 90 degrees but after a critique from toby where he explained how having them in the style i originally had, puts it out of place and makes it look more like a light up shop title.

this one was a nice idea to have a contrasting poster with a kind of thirds type composition where you have the character hiding behind an alley, the town down the alley way, and on the other side of the wall you have the shadow of the werelynx. i do feel its a nice composition but it doesnt give alot of idea about the story like the characters motive and such.

i love this concept and feel it is a cool composition and technique however i just feel its a little too vague as the idea like the one previously where its just the guy in the silhouette of a lynx paw.

this one is an interesting composition but however it falls under the same flaws as the previous ones where there isnt a clear idea of the motive and the character.

this is one i really like due to its idea of being a double edged sword and reflecting (literally) the characters two sides while also including the settings being the village and the city. however i feel it needs to add more context to the settings in terms of why theyre there.

as nice as this idea is with a positive and negative where we see the werelynx head and it transitions into a city, it still leaves for interpretation and is a bit too vague for the poster.

i like the contrast and side by side of this poster but it doesnt entail enough in terms of the story

i do olike this one for its simplicity of them balancing on top of a sword but its fault is like all the above

this one is quite a nice one as having the werelynx head in the back reflects what is going on in the lynx's mind in the clouds

this one was possibly the laziest one as i just took the two different designs of my character and made them into silhouettes using the magic select tool and fill. people did seem to like it for its looks rather than the composition or elements. which kinda defeats the point of the poster cause we need to provide the idea and make it connect to the 100 words

i found this one to be a great representation of how aregaiate is fighting his demon or other side of him and this represents how his dark side is his werelynx form. the only thing i can see that is wrong with it is the lack of a title and setting.

this was by far one of my favourites due to the idea of aregaiates powers being a double edged sword and used that as an analogy for his two sides. through the two different faces

this idea is basically putting aregaiate at the very front of the poster and up close of him traversing through the coyote city. however having his back to the viewer leads to obscurity.

this idea is one of the stronger ones that encaptulate the idea of the two main settings and the two sides of the character in one poster. an issue that arises is the lack of title and confusion as to belief that theyre not the same character perhaps

to reflect on these thumbnails, i started off with quite a few neat ideas but however lost motivation and ideas due to a bit of burnout but after coming back and adding 4 more thumbnails, it made for stronger options. to reflect i felt like i shouldve focused more on the landscape and world the character is in just as much as the character themselves. to do this i will likely start each poster with the background before the character.

these are the posters i consider the strongest and plan to work on developing.

for my first poster i began by working on some dynamic posing as a warm up.

these were the two poses that i decided to use for my first final thumbnail. the left one being for aregaiate in his normal form and the right one being him in his werelynx form.

for the pose on the right i flipped the pose to be facing the other way to compositionally worke better with the flow of the poster. i decided on rather than having the sword be diagonal, having it straight down the middle would work together to properly cement home the idea of the double edged sword with two sides

this was the reference i used for the sword which is a French Officer's Double Edged Sword from the 18th century.

i then threw together some background and made the pose drawings into the two different versions of the character. normal lynx and werelynx

i decided to make the backgrounds of the two settings (coyote capital and aregaiates village) connect through being a one point perspective that ran across the sword connecting the two together.

i then added more to the werelynx side to the character with his cape and armor with tears flowing out following the emotions of the state his village is now in. i refined the layer for the background and broke down the buildings into small shapes of cubes

i then added silhouettes to the background and houses to the other background before applying the title to the part of the sword.

to reflect on this poster thumbnail process, i wasnt entirely happy with how the drawings came out and felt they could be more clear but i just lacked the confidence and the time to put the drawings together more clearly. in future with more practice ill be ablle to put together more clear drawings in the early stages rather than depending on refining the drawing over time over each layer like i have previously and just try to clean up the one layer

using a 1 point perspective grid, i put together a street within the streets of Coyote City using a reference of a eurasian city within the 18th century.

A bunch of months ago now, I came up with an idea I'm really proud of now. And since it was Christmas related, let's bring it back for December:

It's an idea for either a tv show or a series of TV Movies released every Christmas. It's about the goings on at a bar/restaurant/lounge every Christmas. I came up with this prompt all on my own after listening to a lot of Christmas music. I did use AI to bounce my ideas off of it, however. Whether it's a TV series or merely a series of TV Movies released every new Christmas season, one thing is clear: the show is only ever set during winter/christmas.

The Bar where the show is set is like a mix of a rustic old ski lodge and of an old cosmopolitan cocktail lounge from the 1940s. It's got a very old timey feel, at any rate.

This idea could be viewed as similar to shows like The Love Boat. An anthology series, but with a few characters connecting all the stories to each other. And all the stories would tend to be heartfelt in some way. Although some of the stories would be comedic too. On the Love Boat, the crew of the ship were the characters who tied everything together. Here, it's the bar's staff who tie all the stories together. At least one staff member shows up during each of the 3-4 stories told in one episode.

Since I just brought them up, let's discuss the bar's staff:

First, there's the bar's owner (I don't have a name for him yet). He's an old man who always seems to know just what to do to boost his patrons spirits during the holiday season. He's also got a bit of an aura of mystery to him, mostly because it's implied he has some sort of history with Santa. Whether they be Best Friends, Distant Relatives or something in between, it's clear he's got some sort of connection to Santa and the North Pole.

I want him to be like Ricardo Montalban on Fantasy Island, this older man with an aura of mystery surrounding him. Personally, I like conclusive answers though. So I'll probably address the mystery at some point (after a season or two, or during the third or fourth special). I'm leaning towards the relatives ideas, personally. I think it's a clever idea for how they might know each other.

Also at the bar is a somewhat washed up old lounge singer (don't have a name for him yet either). 70-75 years old at the beginning of our series, he's been working for this bar since sometime in the late 90s (let's say he joined the staff around 1996 or so). He always wanted to make it big and be a successor to his idols Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Dean Martin, etc. But sadly, this never quite worked out as planned. He was sometimes able to book some small gigs, but he could never afford to play any big venues.

At some point in his 30s, he falls into a deep depression because of this. For almost 9 years, he wouldn't perform his music anymore. It's only because he happened to stop in at this bar for his 46th birthday that he's performing again. He fell in love with the atmosphere at the bar and with the feelings of love and camaraderie displayed there. He loved it so much he asked if he could perform at the bar, acting as a form of In-house entertainment. The bar's owner said he liked the idea a lot, and he's been working here ever since. In fact, his 30th anniversary of working for the bar is slowly approaching.

I have still a lot more to say, so the rest is under the cut:

There's also the bartender, a 56 year old woman named Amanda Snow. Twelve years ago, her and her husband came to the small town where this bar is located for their honeymoon. While they were here, she learned that her husband had actually been cheating on her for the last 3 years of their marriage. When she confronts him, he gets mad and tells her he's leaving without her. He takes storms off and goes to book a new plane ticket back home.

Meanwhile, Amanda ends up stopping in the bar to clear her head from the fight. While there, she meets the people there and falls in love with its charming environment. She asks if she can help by taking orders or busing tables or something (Amanda's always been a lady who likes helping others).

Although the owner says it's fine for tonight, he's impressed by her kind heart and somewhat matronly spirit. He's so impressed he offers her a job, in fact. Amanda's hesitant to accept at first, if course. But after sleeping on it and realizing that her husband offers nothing of value to her anymore (her kids are all grown up, and her husband has been cheating on her for the last three year), she decides to say Screw It! She tells her husband she's not going back home with him, and that she's planning to get a job as a bartender here.

Since that fateful day, she's worked for the bar. She's never bothered to look back for her husband. She still keeps in touch with her kids, of course. In fact, what made her such a good mother is also what makes her such a good bartender: she's very warm-hearted, filled with a tenacious spirit and love for what she does. She's so good that the bar's owner views her as his second-in-command at this point. She's just got a way about interacting with people.

Finally, there's the bar's chefs and wait staff. Only the head chef and two of the waiters serve as main characters. They round out our cast of six here. Although there's definitely more chefs at the bar (and probably a few more waiters), I think it's best not to have too many main characters. Maybe there'll be one or two patrons who we see in nearly every episode, but that's it.

The Head Chef is Bo Jacobson. Bo is a stoic and gruff man who often seems intimidating at first glance. But once you get to know him, you realize that he's actually a very kindhearted soul. He's a great chef, very skilled at what he does. He's head chef at the bar because he's old friends of the owner. I haven't quite figured out how their friendship began yet, but it started long ago when they were both much younger men.

There are lots of chefs under Bo (no bar could survive with one chef) but Bo is the only one of them to be a main character. Maybe occasionally we'll see a glimpse of the other chefs, but none are as important as Bo. Bo's the head chef. He's been head chef pretty much ever since it first opened, and he's very good friends with the owner. So he's got a personal connection to the place.

Then we have the two waiters. First there's Jessica. Jessica is 22 years old, and she's a very energetic girl. She's very personable, and she loves people. She loves a lot of things, honestly. She's a very optimistic person. Jessica started working here because she needed a part time job during her college years, but now she's working here full time.

Jessica has a dream. One day Jessica wants to open her own restaurant. Well, that is if she can't take over this place. If the current owner ever retires, Jessica dreams of taking over the place. She'd get to be around people, caring for them and serving them all that they need. She dreams of that type of thing. She'd just love to be able to care for other people for a job. To her, that's just the ideal world. To her, that would just be the perfect life.

Finally, there's our second waiter (I haven't committed to a name yet. Maybe Damien)? Our second waiter is kind of the exact opposite of Jessica. Whereas Jessica is incredibly extroverted and fond of being around people, he's more fond of sitting near the fire with a good book. He also loves the bar, but for different reasons than Jessica. While Jessica loves it because it lets her work around people, he likes it because the place is small and quiet and all the customers are like family to him at this point. While he still hates being around people because it's so stressful sometimes, he enjoys the job because the patrons are usually always all familiar and friendly to him.

This is how he gets involved in some of the different anthology stories. Whenever a new customer shows up, he gets really stressed out. Sometimes he'll end up retreating into himself, which leads to the customers inquiring as to if he's okay. And the answer there is that he's probably fine, he's just incredibly shy.

Him and Jessica sort of have that Odd Couple/Opposites Attract dynamic. Although they're both so very different from each other, they also both have become friends with each other. They're both been working for the place for roughly the same amount of time as each other, so I suppose it's only natural that they've become some close to each other.

Just like with Bo and the Chefs from earlier, I think it's safe to assume that there's at least one or two other waiters at this bar. But I can't run myself ragged focusing on too many characters. So only Jessica and Our second waiter (I'm still leaning towards Damien for a name) will be main characters. Maybe occasionally we'll focus on one of the other waiters for a storyline or two.

Who in here tryna start a riot?

I came dangerously close to rating Anarcute 3/5, maybe even 2/5. Before publishing my effusive 4/5 review, I wrote and deleted another draft that focused entirely on the game's controller issues. I love this game, and I could not play it. I hacked together a control scheme that kiiiiind of worked, but it never felt right, and I couldn't deny the truth: more of my attention was going toward that stress than was going to the game itself. Technical problems were ruining my experience, and my score had to reflect that. Win+Alt+R is the keyboard shortcut I use to capture game clips. I thought that if I were going to make this a single-issue review, I better record the "Best with a controller!" splash screen that appears every time the game is launched. This is how I discovered that holding Alt while the game is starting brings up a configuration tool. I mapped the game's commands to my controller, and... It worked. Just like that, my biggest problem wasn't a problem anymore. Anarcute is the best game of this week, the third-best game I've rated to date, and potentially unplayable if my solution doesn't work for you. Take that recommendation however you like. I haven't tried any of the console versions, but I'm certain that's the safest bet.

The Mushroom Kingdom

Princess Peach (Ms. Toadstool, if you're nasty) is the sole ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom. We accept this because we have no reason to dig deeper. I think most of us question it at some point, but we understand the Mario series. Princesses get kidnapped and rescued in fairy tales, so there you go, kids: A princess got kidnapped. She needs Mario to rescue her. There's your motivation. She wasn't meant to be a character who inhabits a world. She was a plot device waiting at the end of a series of digital obstacle courses.

There are nerds inside and outside of Nintendo who have convinced themselves that the Zelda series is somehow improved by pretending it tells coherent story. These are the same dorks who want you to believe that Mario Galaxy is the best one because "actually, the storybook stuff is really deep." Look, Super Mario Sunshine's cutscenes are high art, but Mario has never needed narrative drama. He's a funny cartoon guy who turns any situation into a fun cartoon. Is he political? Absolutely. Everyone and everything is political, but that doesn't mean we need to understand the legislative systems that govern his adoptive home.

The Mushroom King

In 1993, John Leguizamo taught us to trust the fungus.

What you might not remember, if you aren't a cinephile, is that the fungus is, in fact, Princess Daisy's father, the king.

More obscure than that is Nintendo Comics System's Super Mario Bros. series, from 1990. Check out this character from the first panel:

You are looking at none other than Princess Toadstool's dad, the King of the Mushroom Kingdom. And he doesn't just get transformed into fungus or something. He's a lead character!

Nintendo's attitude towrd Mario media is very different now from what it was in the '90s, but I've been paying attention to the marketing for this new Mario movie. I heard the Super Mario Bros. Super Show! song (and the original Toadstool's voice!) in that commercial. I heard that Luma giggle about "the sweet relief of death." The script was written by Matthew Fogel.

I don't think Nintendo would shoot down any attempt to put a king on-screen, but I guarantee we're getting jokes about how weird it is that this kingdom only has a princess. If I'm wrong about this, I'll... I'll...

Yeah! And just because I don't know when I'll have another excuse to talk about these comics, I leave you with the Raddest, Baddest Princess...

9 Anti LO Asks

1. ok so, persephone is magically ok after all of ONE therapy session, something people wanted to see for years, meanwhile the trial no one asked for is being dragged into its third month of publishing?? who asked for this??

2. I hate the typos too but why are people pissed at RS specifically for the typos? Isn't spelling a big issue for dyslexic people? Doesn't the fact that she has a whole team behind her mean that someone else is likely in charge of typography? So shouldn't the annoyance be redirected at someone else?

3. RS may be the creator of LO but so many people work on it! Instead of wondering where the editor/typographer fucked off to, anons keep blaming the disabled creator for being unable to catch the errors induced by said disability. What a real class act! When did the anons contributing to this blog go from giving earnest critique to lambasting everything RS does?

From OP about #2 and #3: If you’re both referring to the same asks (the two previous ones about typos), neither of them solely put the blame on RS. They even said that someone on her team should’ve been looking out for these typos. Especially since she (or webtoon) is paying someone to do that.

4. isnt this comic supposed to be about these two characters getting together? why does it seem 90+% of the actual comic is doing everything BUT develop the relationship and getting them together? how is that fun to read?

5. 179 was so bad even tho I wish it came sooner just to get the plot rolling. Regardless of how Thetis feels about Minthe, anyone could have come to the conclusion persphone cursed Minthe into a plant because she wanted hades. Was their fight public? Yeah but no other staff meme we other than Hecate touched base on it and didn’t care, so Thetis didn’t know. And she’s right to say how “unhinged persphone” you’re claiming someone isn’t dead but you haven’t broken the curse nor have you tried at all because your were too busy shopping and showing hades your clone family.

And I know it’s a joke that Zeus doesn’t remember Minthes name, but it does no favors for the plot I feel. It just makes hades looks like a bad bf if he couldn’t get his brother to remember her name, espically since they he told them he was gonna marry her.  Or you know since she’s the other person who whistle blew on persphone.

Can we all just look at the panel where persphone is hiding behind hades like a kid? I’m suppose to root for that? That’s not the dread queen I was expecting. Also why is RS sexualizing Persphone to water a plant in Hades house? That’s a bit much. Zeus didn’t even do much when Persphone said “eventually” she can turn her back, like that’s not a sure answer. Honestly that should have been used more against persphone. Like we thought Minthe was bad? What about the the plant cursing rich kid whose in trial for murder?

“This could have been an email” way to try and make a joke RS about a guy who lost his gf and rethinking his life choices in the most joke of a court. Honestly I feel like if Thanatos emailed HR that Persphone was receiving special treatment, they would blow it off since hades is a king who does what he wants which would only lead to more frustration and probably stil lead to the trial.

Last thing, I know the ledger thing about overthrowing hades was probably written in by someone else, but the reaction of Persphone just makes me think she does have an actual plan to overthrow him. Or maybe it’s about bringing those nameless nymphs back to life. 

6. You guys HAVE to read NPR’s review of the first LO book because it’s insane. It literally says it’s a GOOD thing the women are drawn as male fantasies and look straight out of Playboy, thinks it’s good it has no actual connections to the myths, thinks Rachel is honestly trying to have a commentary on modern day norms (literally where), and only has one passing line mentioning Persephone is roofied (not mentioning it’s by Eros) and to “steer clear if you don’t like discussions of sexual assault” at the last paragraph, not mentioning (or realizing?) it’s only there to push the romance along and to technically not make her a virgin. It doesn’t even mention the gross nature of the virginity scholarship, the specialization of Persephone at every turn, or how Persephone really has no say in the narrative. I think the writer is trying to hype it up since it’s women-made comic, but holy shit were they stretching it thin in trying to make it something feminism and deeper than a puddle on a light rainy day.

I have to wonder if this is only because it’s the first 25 chapters which genuinely seemed to have some thought and effort put into it, because I can’t imagine the reviewer looking at LO in it’s entirety would hold these same opinions.

Holy shit, but the recent fp was a fucking mess. First off, Demeter and Persephone arguing again 🤦‍♀️ I also like how Demeter was being honest and saying she cares and puts Persephone safety first, ONLY FOR PERSEPHONE TO SAY BULLSHIT AND THEN SAY HE LOVES HADES OOF.

Than idk the conversation between Apollo and Hephaestus made me super uncomfortable like ugh, then hades coming in and then saying to Persephone he knows Apollo hurt her and wants to know. Ugh, like why can’t Persephone tell her story instead of somebody either saying it or putting crumbs into it.

Idk this chapter was a messy one to me.

October Halloween Movie Fest Day Six:

Today’s movie was The Frighteners, an old favorite of mine. It’s a little too goofy for the dark tone and a little too dark for the goofy tone, but I love it anyway. Michael J Fox is always fantastic, love the music, and I am an absolute sucker for stories involving characters seeing things nobody else can, and out-of-body experiences. A good fun time with enough depth and feelings to sink my teeth into, and the whole abandoned hospital sequence reminding me of Silent Hill doesn’t hurt. Although it came out in 1996 so any possible influence was the other way around. And thusly I have completed the trifecta of 90s horror-ish movies with a show resembling Unsolved Mysteries (I looked it up) explaining the backstory. Achievement unlocked!

I think I am due to spend a night or two trying movies I haven’t seen, though. We’ll see how I feel tomorrow, but definitely over the weekend.

Treehouse of Horror 6 (Attack of the 50-Foot Eyesores/Nightmare on Evergreen Terrace/Homer3) clocks in at rank 4 for me; my list now goes 1, 5, 4, 6, 3, 2. Nightmare has some genuine creeps, but mostly this one is more funny/conceptually interesting than Spooky. So I ranked it below the ones that are just as nostalgic but more spooky. It’s also the first one to drop the full framing device and just do a quick opener; I bet the commercial breaks got longer that year.

And it’s the first episode of The Simpsons I was aware of being new. I don’t remember how old I was when I started watching, but my family was into Myst, and I have a distinct memory of my then-college-aged brother describing the episode before it aired as “Homer and the boy go to Myst.” It was not as big a reference as he seemed to think it would be, but I always like seeing the Myst library complete with music cue.

I started trying to do some stats on who stars in THOHs, because I noticed Lisa doesn’t get nearly as much screen time as Bart and Homer. So far, Homer’s the clear star most of the time, with Bart in close second, and Lisa distant third. Marge and Maggie are lucky to be included so far. I think the writers found it easier to inflict horror and bad decisions on Homer and Bart, while Lisa tends to just come in trying to solve the problem, and more often than not shares the spotlight with Bart. She did get a fair amount of screen time in this one, though—co-starring in the first and second segments. I think we’ll get a Marge story and one or two Maggie stories within a week, though.

(And I have only been using gifs I already had, but might have to start making new ones just to properly illustrate the episodes. At least through THOH 16.)

And as for Teen Wolf, Abomination is so good. Stiles is the best and I love this turning point in Derek’s willingness to trust him, I love how much they are clearly laying out exactly what is wrong with Jackson, I… don’t love that everyone collectively decided not to tell Lydia everything making her so isolated that an illusion Peter cooked up in her head is the only person she can talk to, but it’s a good story anyway. My theory is that with Lydia being his only connection and how she brings him back, Peter not only sympathized enough to try using a carrot instead of a stick, but he also felt obliged to repay her afterwards by helping fix Jackson.

Anyway, I do not have the time or energy to ramble further Teen Wolf thoughts; if I have more I will make a shiny new post. Onward to day seven!

My Anime 9/10′s

With probably no spoilers cuz I don’t wanna talk too long about them zzz.

1. Fullmetal Alchemist

YALL ALREADY KNOW THIS A 9/10. The only real reason this show is not a 10/10 is because it’s just a story that I’d never rewatch. There’s like 70 episodes, which is way too long for my short attention span, especially since I’ve seen it already. But yeah, by all accounts, this story is a masterpiece and is one of the only “shounen” anime’s that I genuinely enjoyed. No random sexualization. No dumb filler. All the characters have an actual purpose and role in the plot and everyone has their own morals and ideals that interact to make the story interesting. I couldn’t bring myself to really hate anyone, even the villains, because everyone was pretty well written. Also super satisfying ending that ties up everything properly without leaving me confused or upset. If you only watch a few anime in your life, Fullmetal Alchemist is pretty much a MUST WATCH to see a beautiful example of a modern classic anime as an artform. Also I should say that I really don’t like Hunter x Hunter (AN EXTREMELY CONTROVERSIAL OPINION BTW) but I love Fullmetal Alchemist so take from that what you will.

2. Parasyte: The Maxim

Same kinda shit where you already know this a 9/10 for me. It’s just a very satisfying anime that doesn’t have random sexualization or random filler or anything like that. Ending is also very good and ties up the story in a way that doesn’t leave more questions but also allows the characters to have a “life” outside of the scope of the story. I think Parasyte, because of its more horror and psychological-esque vibes, counts as a seinen and not a shounen, so for more mature audiences. I also really liked how the story was successfully adapted to modern times since the manga is from the 80′s. I have actually rewatched this anime, but what stops me from giving it a 10/10 is a few things that I found kinda “stereotypical” that I don’t wanna discuss further too much cuz it’s spoilers. I still obviously really like this anime and highly recommend it.

3. Zankyou no Terror

TBH, this anime is pretty hard for me to properly describe in a lot of words as to why I like it. The art was really pretty as well as the music, which was just straight up amazing. The cinematography of this anime is excellent as well, and a lot of scenes have that sense of being acted out by real people, as opposed to feeling completely drawn/animated. I was a teenager when this anime came out and I think a lot of the themes presented in the show really related to me. The show does kinda have some leftover questions when it ends that prevents me from rating it a 10/10, but I have such a soft spot for this anime. It’s from the same creator as Samurai Champloo and Cowboy Bebop, and although those two animes are also very good, they did not impact me as much as this anime did. Recommended for people looking for idk something that gives off Inception vibes?? In the sense that it’s much more about its themes and its message more so than the believability of the events that occur.

4. Magic Kaito 1412

THIS IS JUST A PERSONAL PREFERENCE BTW LOLOL I DON’T KNOW ANYBODY WHO’D PUT THIS AS A 9/10 ANIME. I JUST REALLY LIKED IT OKAY. It’s made by the same person who does Detective Conan but I like this a lot more because it’s a much shorter series and slightly more mature (more for teens than just straight up kids). I really liked the main guy, I think he’s funny and charismatic. He’s a pervert at times but Imma forgive that cuz of the 90′s. Idk it’s just a really fun anime that I don’t have to take seriously and can just watch and enjoy.

5. Mob Psycho 100 (season 1 AND 2)

Imma put season two as slightly better than season one. So season one would be like a 9 and season two is like a 9.25 for me. Super super funny anime and I like it SO much more than One Punch Man. I liked that there was a good balance of serious moments, but you can definitely still count this anime as a comedy. I’m typically not the type to watch “comedy” but this anime genuinely had me laughing out loud, while also crying and freaking out right alongside the main character. The main guy is super great because he’s just this shy and sweet middle schooler, and it’s really interesting watching him balance trynna have a normal life while also using his powers for good and such. Apparently the anime was decently faithful to the manga and there’s apparently enough material for a third season so I’d be pretty stoked for a season 3, but season 2 ended on a pretty good spot and was satisfying. TBH, if I had the time, I’d probably rewatch both seasons and bump it up to a 10/10.

6. Vinland Saga

This anime is just the first season of what I hopes to be a whole series that will be stay beautifully and faithfully adapted from the manga. As someone who read very far into the manga (but quit like years ago simply because I hate slow updates lol), I actually didn’t enjoy watching the anime at first. I was impatient and kept waiting for when like the “major” events would happen. So I watched like three episodes and quit. But when I had some free time, I decided to get stuck in and commit to watching the whole series and I was so pleasantly surprised with just how good it was. I was impatient but I needed to realize that there is no “filler” or like “wasted time” in the entire anime. I hadn’t read the manga in years, so so many things were only vaguely familiar but I think this helped me stay surprised and excited throughout the anime. I’m looking forward to the rest of the manga being adapted because it’s just a good Viking saga lolol. Major themes of stuff like growing up, violence vs. peace, what it means to be a good person, etc. Lots of blood and LOTS of violence like a LOT they are VIKINGS CMON but tbh not really any gore which I liked cuz gore makes me ughhhh. A very good watch and only a taste of an excellent story.

7. Demon Slayer

It’s just Demon Slayer duhhh. Of course this a 9/10 for me. I don’t wanna write much just cuz the show is so popular. Just read a REAL review of this anime somewhere else lmaoooo. Also yes I did watch the movie in theaters and yes I liked it a lot as well mmkay. I’m mad hype for season two. My S/O doesn’t like Demon Slayer as much as me, but also has Hunter x Hunter as their all time favorite anime. Do with that information what you will lolol.

8. Attack on Titan Season 3 Part 2

Same shit as Demon Slayer. Just go read someone else’s review about why it’s so good lol. Also, unlike Mob Psycho 100, I can’t include all of the seasons in this, because I have very various opinions about how good/bad the other seasons were. But this season 3 part 2, was just plain and simply amazing. While I might not like each season equally, as a whole Attack on Titan is also a modern masterpiece of storytelling. Read the manga if you can.

9. Great Pretender

I love this anime so much. Such a good and fun wild ride. The whole show is ridiculous but in a fun way. I’m a HUGE fan of heist films, so of course I absolutely enjoyed a heist anime. I’ve watched this show in sub AND dub, due to the fact that everyone is “technically” speaking English the entire time. If you’re a purist, just watch in sub OR dub cuz I did get confused here and there, especially when I would go back to compare language discrepancies.  Because basically I did this super high maintenance thing where I switched back to Japanese whenever the main character had flashbacks, since he’s ya know, Japanese. The dub also has this confusing thing where the first five minutes or so are still in Japanese, but switches to English when a little cue card on the screen goes “For the Viewers sake, everything from now on will be translated to Japanese.” It’s cuz in the sub, the inverse obviously happens where the characters are initially speaking broken English to each other, but for convenience sake, everything from that point on will be in Japanese. It’s confusing at first but I liked it cuz it just proved the whole international vibe of the show. It’s funny either sub or dub when they joke about how bad the main guy speaks English, cuz in the dub he’s speaking perfect English, while the sub has him not speaking English at all. But anyway, great anime that WOULD have gotten a 10/10 if not for the last episode. Like without spoiling ... WTF WAS THAT LMAOOOO. The anime as a whole is super wacky and zany but at least I could try to think it’s real life, but that last episode was just so unbelievable and bizarre and pulled my suspension of disbelief into the STRATOSPHERE that I just had to convince myself that this show takes place in some improbable alternate reality where something like what happened in the last episode is at least 5 percent possible CUZ HOW DID ANY OF THAT WORK LMAOOO??? Once again, great show, one of my absolute favorites, BUT THAT ENDING THOUGH WTF.

10. BNA

Good super underrated anime that I don’t hear people talk about at all. If Beastars is anime Zootopia, then BNA is Disney Beastars lmaooo does that make sense? It’s a lot more fun and zany than Beastars and I liked it way more. Made by the same people who made Kill la Kill. I really like that more classic, animated “cheap” art style that the anime has, and I also really liked the plot of the story. Not a 10/10 cuz the show does leave a few unanswered questions at the end of it, but this show was such a fun and interesting ride. When I finished the last episode, I was left with a big smile on my face because I just genuinely enjoyed this anime. Recommended if you wanna watch something a little unique and more on the silly and wack side. Talks about some serious stuff, but luckily the show never takes itself TOO seriously, and remains overall lighthearted for a fun action/sci-fi show.

Astrology of Sasuke, Itachi and Naruto: a semi-comprehensive analysis

I’ve been wasting away months of my life on this task and I’m finally reaching relatively passable results. This is the fruit of my labour thus far.

I really tried to be as unbiased as possible and keep several different interpretations of the characters in mind but I can’t guarantee that my personal feelings and opinions didn’t seep through to some extent (specially with regards to that whole genocide thing). I also don’t like some of these characters as “people” so I’ll warn you beforehand, I ended up bad-mouthing Naruto and Itachi a bit.

This post is broken up into four sections. 

Section one is a quick run up of the planets (only the ones I’ve been working on), houses and aspects. 

Section two is about the signs I’ve chosen for the characters, how I’ve chosen the degrees, and natal aspects. 

Section three is focused on degree interpretations. 

Finally, we will have a quick look at synastry and composite.

I’ve used equal temperament house system and cross check with placidus though because I don’t have Konoha’s longitude and latitude I’ve used Japan’s ones. Also, in this post we are assuming that Naruto’s planet is earth and their moon (and other planets) functions the same way as ours.

The degree interpretations are supposedly translations of La Volasfera published by Sepharia in 1898 (the translations. La Volasfera is older), Walter Henson’s interpretations and Kozminsky’s interpretation in that order. Keep in mind that they lived in different times and some of the things they say reaaallly reflects that.

For aspect and midpoint calculations, I couldn’t be bothered to calculate everything by hand so I wrote a short program for it; however, I didn’t debug much. It should work fine but just in case something slips by, I’m giving a warning. I also didn’t proof read so please excuse any mistakes.

Aspects:

square (90): tension, dynamic, needs adjustment, major, ...

opposition (180): polarized, projection, can be tense but less than square, dynamic, major, ...

conjunction (0): blending, can be dynamic, major, ...

trine (120): comes naturally, can be taken for granted, harmonious, major, ...

sextile (60): similar to trine but slightly weaker and more moving (a fun spark sort of energy but not dynamic), major.

inconjunction (150): awkward, can’t be compromised, has to be tolerated, minor, ...

semi-sextile (30): similar to inconjunction, some say it’s more workable, minor, ...

semi-square (45): like square but weaker, minor, ...

quintile and biQuintile (72 and 144): creative, dynamic but compatible and comfortable, minor, ...

sesquiquadrate (135): making a mountain out of a molehill, acting energetically without understanding consequences, putting a lot of energy but the more you try the less you get results but when you don’t try they work really well, minor, ...

Additional notes:

on a full moon sun opposite moon occurs. The moon would be 180-225 degrees away from the sun. 

during the last quarter phase, the moon is 270-315 degrees ahead of the sun (Sasuke was born on this phase). 

mercury is up to 28 degrees away from the sun and venus is up to 48 degrees away from the sun.

aspect between sun and moon could denote how you perceive the relationships between your father figure and mother figure.

neptune retrograde happens every year when neptune is opposite sun.

plutonian relationships tend to be controlling, obsessive, disrespectful, painful and manipulative but can be transformative and life-changing.

neptunian relationships and about falling for an idealized image and not seeing things for what they are, rose coloured glasses, a feeling of betrayal and disillusionment once those glasses are shattered, forgiving easily, lack of boundaries in both good and bad ways, worshiping someone and putting them on a pedestal and never seeing them for what they are (humans), overlooking vices that shouldn’t be over looked, ...

both neptunian and plutonian relationships can manifest in nice ways but generally they tend to not do that as both people involved would have to be quite “evolved”, mature and level-headed for that among other things.

Section Two: natal signs and aspects

We will start this section with Sasuke, then we will have a look at Itachi and then Naruto. I’ve checked to make sure that it is mathematically possible (though I didn’t get into retrograde cycles much) for the characters to have these placements both on their own and relative to each-other. 

I put a picture of each character’s natal aspects and wrote which degree I used. If it is between several possible degrees I wrote it in orange, otherwise, it's green. I didn’t discuss the aspect interpretations much because this post would become far too long if I did. I also used pretty wide orbs because the exact degrees weren’t certain but the overall range was extremely likely.

Sasuke’s planets and house placements:

Ascendant: Capricorn 21-22 or 23-34 degrees

Sun: Leo 0-1 degrees (7th)

Moon: Taurus 22-23 degrees (4th) 

Mercury: Leo 12-13 degrees (7th)

Venus: Cancer 15 degrees (6th)

Mars: Scorpio 12 degrees (10th)

Saturn: Cancer 28-29 degrees (7th)

Neptune: Libra 4-5 or 5-6 degrees (8th)

Pluto: Aquarius 10-11, 13-14, 15-16 or 18-19 degrees (1st)

His sun was decided by the author and fits him quite well so there is no need for speculation. Sun in the 7th seems iffy but he does only go for people he respects, deems as reliable/competent and all that (that sun-saturn conjunction in the 7th house) and some of his identity is based on his interpersonal relationships. He also has that passive, non-confrontational way about him where people intrude on his personal space and disregard his boundaries all the time and he really doesn’t react as strongly as one would expect.

There seems to be a common consensus about his Ascendant in the anime astrology community. It is also worth noting that capricorn ascendants are often mistaken as scorpios for some reason. He is driven, comes across as standoffish and serious, has a slight aloof way about him, it puts his mars in the 10th and his moon in the 4th which is perfectly him, ... (I actually considered cancer ascendant for him at first because he had those doe eyes, soft features, youngish face, paler than his brother/father, family oriented, ... but I was torn between that and capricorn and everyone said capricorn so capricorn it is.) 

With regards to his moon, as I’ve already mentioned in my previous posts, I saw how Naruto was born on a full-moon and how the relationship between his parents had that masculine-feminine polarization and some other things and decided to put his moon in aries and if we were to calculate Sasuke’s moon with consideration to the moon’s average speed and the time between his birth-date and Naruto’s, we get moon in taurus (3rd decan, in his 4th house), and the degree will be explained in the third section but the house placement is apparent, given that Sasuke’s heart and comfort has always been with family, home and roots (clan). The cancer one also works because, again, heart with family and an innate gentleness and the 6th house can bring a need to be of use and good organization skills and an attention to order, efficiency and good dietary habits which he certainly does posses. 

Mercury in Leo is self explanatory. It’s either this or cancer and his style of communication is blunt, straightforward, sarcastic, confident, direct and to the point, dramatic, ... and his learning style matches leo more than cancer.

Venus in cancer is one that I doubted quite a good deal and there isn’t a common consensus about it either. The options are gemini, cancer, leo and virgo. I’ve heard mostly leo and virgo but I personally think Cancer in the 6th house makes more sense than in Virgo in the eight. This is based on his aesthetic sense, my understanding of his values and his love style with the only person whom I’m 100% sure he loves (his brother). He really needed quality time to feel loved, he valued competence (6th house) and family (cancer), he cared about receiving compassion from loved ones more than many of the other characters, he expressed affection mostly through acts of service (6th house), he was verbally expressive and hugged his brother and all that so he wasn’t that distant or somber in his approach to expressing affection in general (cancer), he got sulky when his brother refused to spend time with him and pouted and blushed a lot (cancer), ...

Mars in scorpio is another thing where everyone is of the same opinion and it falling into the 10th house makes it even more fitting as he will be very driven and hyper focused on one thing and he can also spend a very long time not having anything to do with fun or sex or any of that. The 10th house is disciplined, it delays, it makes thing serious and it has much to do with self-restraint. This placement is very action oriented and Sasuke is exactly that (he doesn’t spend time just thinking about doing things or just talking about them, he does them).

Saturn in cancer aspecting both his sun and venus. He was only expressive and affectionate with people he was comfortable with and his relationship with his father and authority figures and his general demeanor practically scream saturn in hard aspect to sun. Misfortune in the home and family life and a rigid upbringing (military parents) which saturn in cancer can bring are also there.

Pluto is a generational planet but I’m convinced that it falls into Sasuke’s first house. He constantly attracts plutonic people, he has a mildly plutonic energy himself and if it’s there, it aspects a ton of his planets which would mean that in his relationships with people of his own generation, he would have a pluto heavy synastry (composite is a different matter). 

The aspects didn’t quite turn out how I wanted but they do make sense in my opinion and he has that grand cross with pluto, moon, mars and mercury which is just perfect. His heart, his head, and his drive are all in conflict and there is quite a bit of intensity, issues related to power and control, ... involved.

Itachi’s planets and house placements:

Ascendant: Virgo 20-21 or 26-27 degrees

Sun: Gemini 17-18 degrees (9th)

Moon: Scorpio 20-21, 21-22, 24-25 or 26-27 degrees (3rd) 

Mercury: Cancer 6-7 or 11-12 degrees (10th)

Venus: Taurus 6-7 or 8-9 degrees (8th)

Mars: Taurus 1-2, 3-4, 14-15, 16-17, 18-19, 24-25 or 28-29 degrees (8th)

Saturn: Taurus 24-25 degrees (9th)

Neptune: Virgo 23-24 degrees (1st)

Pluto: Aquarius 2-3 (I chose this but It still isn’t concrete enough, the last one also works), 5-6, 7-8 or 10-11 degrees (5th)

Again, his sun is canon and very fitting. Sun in the 9th house of philosophy and all that also fits his interests (this doesn't say anything about his competence). 

He is very into that whole “I’ve plan everything” and he talked waaay too much about perfection and all that for him to not have some sort of strong virgo/6th house. His ascendant in virgo puts the house cusps in nice places too. I’ll copy this part from my previous post on the subject. 

I considered virgo rising for him (but I’m not particularly attached to this idea)  since that would put scorpio as his 3rd house (intense relationship with siblings) capricorn (ruled by saturn which is restrictions and stuff) on his 5th (fun, children and all that), gemini on 10th (can easily change their persona and know by the general public as intelligent), taurus on 9th (likes philosophy and all that, tends to have different beliefs from what he was raised with (likely by family) and can be very stubborn about beliefs and once he finds them, is very unlikely to change them) and some other stuff.

Moon in Scorpio because I calculated and given the distance between his birthdate and Sasuke’s (if they are 5 years apart) his moon would either fall in sagittarius or scorpio and honestly, I think scorpio fits him more. 

Mercury in cancer because he’s somewhat verbally non-confrontational (would rather deflect and run away, in his case he does that with lies and that stuff) and passive-aggressive and speaks in a vague way instead of just getting to the point and being clear and concise and he’s good at emotional talk in a sense (although that doesn’t necessarily mean he is comfortable with it).

venus in taurus because when he isn’t busy being genocidal or dishonest, he likes some pretty taurusian things like hanging out at traditional coffee shops and getting some sweets. He’s also aesthetically very close to his root (traditional japanese stuff) in terms of preference and taurus likes the familiar. 

I calculated his mars and saturn sign after deciding Sasuke’s mars and saturn. It does match him in a way though. He has a taurusian feel in a way and he really seems to adore the look of security and stability (even when it’s not really there). Venus and mars in 8th because of his fascination and acceptance of the morbid, death and human nature. Also he has an inclination towards extremism in both his actions and adorations (that isn’t the same as being showy though).

Neptune in first because he obviously would have neptune in first. Those acting skills, a habit of dishonesty, being extremely inconsistent and unknowable, weak constitution, slow and lethargic movements, ... He has one of the worst manifestations of neptune in first in my opinion. And he should have more Than one planet in virgo.

Pluto in aqua in 5th solely because of sasuke and calculations, not because of what it says about him (though I also took synastry into account).

Naruto’s planets and house placements:

Ascendant: Leo 1-2, 3-4 or 5-6 degrees

Sun: Libra 17-18 degrees (3rd)

Moon: Aries 12-13, 13-14, 16-17, 17-18 or 20-21 (9th or 10th depending on house system)  or taurus 24 or 28 (10th)

Mercury:  it’s between virgo (2nd), libra (3rd) and scorpio (4th)

Venus: Libra 23-24 or 26-27 degrees (3rd)

Mars: sag 24-25, 25-26 or 29 degrees (5th)

Saturn: Leo 8-9 degrees (1st)

Neptune: Libra 6-7 or 7-8 degrees (3rd)

Pluto: same as sasuke since pluto is a generational planet and their birthdays aren’t that far apart (7th)

His sun is also canon.

His ascendant in leo makes sense because he was born late at night on the 10th of October and he has that leoish persona. There really isn’t much to say here, he embodies it. He has big movements, flamboyance, an outgoing “sunshine”y demeanour, ego-driven, loves to make everything about himself, ...

Moon in the 10th because his emotional security and self-worth and all that are very tied to what the general public thinks of him and he tries to achieve that through his career. Moon in aries and moon in taurus both fit him and the anime astrology community is also divided on this.

For mercury I have no clue. 

His venus could be in virgo, libra, leo, scorpio or sagittarius. I calculated venus in libra from Sasuke’s venus in cancer and then I looked at the degrees and plenty of them fit Naruto and he does have the power of charm so I just left it at that. I eventually narrowed the degrees a bit and found a range I’m comfortable with (in terms of both aspects and degree interpretations).

I used to think his mars makes harsh aspects to both his moon and pluto but it could be just one of them, in the end it ended up being neither of them. I calculated his mars sign from Sasuke’s mars and sag in the 5th seemed pretty fitting specially since his hobby was pranking people and he is a bit of a trickster, his earlier battles also had some creativity.  I used to think his mars is in taurus but it didn’t work out. And honestly he talks about working hard more than he actually works so mars in the 10th was kind of off either way.

Saturn was also calculated based on Sasuke but saturn in leo works pretty well. He got reprimanded for his “fun” and he has a lot of self-esteem issues and simultaneously has a bloated ego and a pretty low opinion of himself. He was so insecure that he had no problem taking credit for other peoples work so there is that. Saturn conjunct ascendant can cause people to have a hard time expressing their true self, often receiving criticism for the way they present themselves/the way they are, they can also often feel like no one will every truly love/like them (as people).

Pluto in the 7th house is extremely fitting for him, in fact, I would go so far as to say that I can’t imagine it anywhere else. He’s controlling, he’s manipulative, he’s possessive, obsessive, he’s all about taking what he wants/needs from relationships while not giving an iota of care to what the other party wants or needs, he’s stalkerish, ... he manifests pluto in the 7th house in one of the worst possible ways.

SASUKE

Moon: 22-23

It signifies one who will suffer misfortune in the height of his career and whose fall will be dangerous in proportion to the height he has attained. St. Michael is the life, solar energy, conqueror of decay; the black rain the evil which corruption draws. Venus: 15-16

Saturn: 28-29

It indicates a person of docile and tractable nature, combined with a certain subtlety of mind and high order of intelligence. Although thus held in check, the native will be subject to dangers of an unknown character from secret enemies and jealous foes, and will be in peril of an untimely end. Denotes one who strives to do more than he can accomplish, who has “ too many irons in the fire,” and, while thinking to accomplish much, does but little. He may be two-sided or have two philosophies obtruding themselves at the same time. The life is restless, anxious, and over it hangs a threatening hand. This symbol is related to one in whose life some great catastrophe will occur at a time when providentially there will be a friend at hand to rescue him from his danger. But there will be raised up to him a friend capable of sustaining him in his extremity, and he will not therefore sink into the depths. This will be in response to his great faith. Denotes one who has a graceful method of expressing his thoughts and who will reach his place when life’s midway has passed. He will accomplish much, and his words will ring so that many will stop to listen. His actions harmonize with his beliefs, and his soul is serene. It is a symbol of Proclaiming.

ITACHI

Saturn: 24-25

It indicates a powerful and haughty nature; one who is disposed to justify himself by force of arms rather than by intrinsic merit. Such a person will make many his servants but few his friends and in the end his state will be a pitiable as that of a dying lion. It is a degree of PRIDE.

Sometimes have theories and ideas of doubtful value; homicidal tendency; alcoholism; men with planets here are careful with their money; lower jaw.

Denotes one of natural talent who will be beset with difficulties in gaining recognition, but whose mental strength will be the more determined because of them. When his time comes his power will be felt. He will force acknowledgment by sheer ability and energy. It is a symbol of Premeditation.

Sun: 17-18

It indicates a person of lofty aspirations, keen mental powers, penetration and executive ability, one who will cut out his own line in life and excite attention, but who may, by his destiny, fail in achieving the result aimed at. It is a degree of EXECUTION.

Good imagination; cordial but caustic; energetic, enthusiastic, and intellectual; a dual personality - men may sometimes have feminine traits; homicidal tendency; Bright’s disease (kidneys); second rib.

Denotes one of great bravery who, feeling himself unconquerable, becomes a mark for the attacks of his enemies, who, thinking to smite him at the point of his weakness, raise about themselves the power which arises from his pain. It is a symbol of Invulnerability.

Neptune: 23-24

It denotes a person of misanthropic spirit and unsociable disposition, who will be estranged from his kindred and may be exiled or outcast from his country. In addition, the native will be short-sighted or have some moral obliquity. so, that be will incur severe troubles through this defect in various ways. It is a degree of LONELINESS.

Painters; “a ship at full sail”; a hard worker who has many ups and downs; sometimes hard to understand because he is not a good mixer and t other times he does not understand himself; benefics are favorable here, but other planets here may denote a lack of chastity; spine; tendons of liver.

Denotes one of a quick and critical mind who is gifted with powers of observation and discrimination He is able to turn points to his advantage, and does not hesitate to push forward with energy and activity to gain his desires. It is a symbol of Keenness.

Moon:

20-21

It is the symbol of a bold, independent and forceful nature, that knows either restraint nor law, and that will suffer great privations in order to maintain the semblance of freedom. It is a degree of INDEPENDENCE.

Doctors: music (variations of pitch); not as strong as most Scorpio degrees; alcoholism; violence; homicidal tendency; has little respect for rules and conventions but usually abides by them. Often so reserved that few people understand him.

Denotes one who conceives the dualistic nature of man. He holds that the connexion of spirit and matter is the initial force from which all other forces are brought into being. He admits no intermediate force, pressing home his beliefs with all the certainty of proven facts and with all the vehemence his powerful nature is capable of. It is a symbol of Forcing.

21-22

It is the index of a nature that is impelled by force of circumstances to precipitate and hazardous projects. A restless and impulsive mind, defective in foresight and never aware of danger till it is encountered. The life will be narrowed and confined, and so largely determined by the force of circumstances that it will be in danger of falling from one level to another until it is lost in obscurity and swallowed up in the sands of time. It is degree of COMPULSION.

Doctors; alcoholism; now; homicidal tendency; often found in charts of painters, poets, and astrologers, impulsive and restless yet loves home, solitude, and contemplation; (Unukalhai) immorality, accidents, danger of poison; ethmoid bone and ligaments.

Denotes one who is forced by circumstances to undertake duties which are not always of a pleasant nature. His destiny is to adjust and to demand, and the necessities of his life are opposed to investigations of an ideal or psychic character. It is a symbol of Gathering.

24-25

It is the indication of a predatory and adventurous spirit, a mind that is avaricious and cunning, quick to perceive and enforce its owl advantage, but slow to cultivate the more useful and sociable habits of life. Such will lead a distressful and contentious life, and will not long enjoy the benefit of his conquests. He will snatch an advantage and will be forced to surrender it to others; and because of his selfishness his own friends will berail him. It is a degree of SEIZURE.

Alcoholism; homicidal tendencies; strong desire to gain wealth or power, a malefic here usually denotes trouble with the opposite sex; some connection with magicians; ovarian ducts; coccyx.

Denotes one who is lost in the maze of worldly gain and whose sole happiness is in his ever- increasing wealth. His nature is hard and his estimate of his fellow-creatures is judged by his own standard. His motto is: Treat every man as a rogue until you find him out to be honest, and when you find him out to be honest, think again before you trust him. It is a symbol of Hardness.

26-27

It denotes one who has a forceful and yet pliant mind, a persuasive tongue and a brave spirit. Such an one will lead others by the power of authority which is vested in reason and sustained by the ability of expression. From such a man an appeal is equivalent to a command, and an exhortation equal to a rebuke. He will undertake high duties and grave responsibilities in life and will largely be moved by a power that is within him, unrecognized but potent. It is a degree of PERSUASION.

Usually seems well-balanced, genial, sympathetic, and philosophical, may be placed in positions of trust only to meet personal misfortune.

Denotes one capable of lofty thoughts and high mental flights. There is a subtle, strong diplomacy about this native which cannot be easily gauged by others, but he knows himself, his own ambitious spirit, and his ever-growing faith—a faith which never wavers, no matter if he basks in favors or shields himself from frowns. Pluto:

2-3

This symbol is related to one whose life is liable to many and severe shocks of misfortune, the severing of ties and the disappointment of hopes. Nevertheless, he will show a spirit of steadfast resignation to the will of Heaven and therein will find consolation for his grief’s and sorrows. Section Four: Synastry and composite

Based on the degrees I used for natals, I drew up a composite chart and a synastry chart for sasuke and itachi as well as for sasuke and naruto but I wont be providing interpretations since that would make this post far too long. Note that some of these aspects might be wrong as not all degrees are certain.

Before we get started let me just clarify the difference between synastry and composite. 

Synastry is conversations between different parts of people. An example would be if my mercury and your moon are in a nice harmonious aspect, I say something in my style of communication based on my thinking process, now you get what I’m saying at an emotional level because you feel the same way, your feeling process and my thinking process are similar, the way you express your emotions and the way I express my thoughts are close, so I get how you feel on a logical level and you get what I think on an emotional level. 

Composite is the overall, combined energy of the relationship. Lets say you have a very rational and to the point way of communicating but then you meet this person and with them, for some reason, as soon as you meet both of you seem to communicate in an emotional, passive-aggressive way (strongly aspected composite mercury in cancer). Or if you have tons of things in common with someone, you communicate in a similar way, you like the same things, but you just can’t seem to think of a single thing to say to them. You meet and your mind goes blank, there should be a world of things to talk about but literally nothing comes to mind, the conversation is dry and an absolute chore and then you look at that composite and there’s a tight saturn (restriction, block) conjunct mercury (communication) and everything makes sense. It also says things like why you got together (composite sun), how people perceive your relationship (composite ascendant), ...

So lets go see how these characters relate to each-other on a cosmic level.

edit: I removed the composite to natals part because they require extremely tight orbs so it’s kind of risky for something so uncertain.

Sasuke-Itachi synastry:

I forgot to erase that sun-sun semi-square (it’s out of orb) so just ignore it. Lots of harmonious saturn could lend itself to commitment and respect, lots of harmonious aspects to sasuke’s venus along with itachi’s sun in his 5th shows how fun and loving this relationship was for him (sasuke). Both their moons are getting lots of close aspects too. Those moon ascendant aspects and quick comfort and easy relating, an immediate emotional connection, Itachi’s mars aspecting Sasuke’s moon, ...

Sasuke-Itachi composite:

So this composite sun (purpose, nature of the relationship) in cancer (family) is perfect. I wonder if this was a coincidence or if Kishi really looked this up. Ascendant in scorpio is pretty nice as well. Plenty of neptune, lots of pluto, ... 

Composite sun in the eight very much paints their relationship, intense, obsessive, transformative and full of death (both metaphorical and literal). Composite moon in the third, communication is important to the health of their relationship and emotional security regarding it, ... There is plenty of stuff to unpack here so I’m not going get into it, specially since we don’t know much for certain.

Sasuke-Naruto synastry:

An interesting point here is that naruto’s moon would be in sasuke’s 4th house of family so that explains why he sees his family in him. Also, like I mentioned, plenty of harsh pluto, harsh mars-pluto giving lots of energy which if directed well, can contribute to good teamwork against outside forces and if not will lead to petty yet emotionally volatile arguments and controlling behaviour.

I put the ascendant opposition aspect there even though it’s out of orb because kishi went out of his way to make them opposites in the way they present/carry themselves and their aesthetic so this aspect would probably exist.

Sasuke-Naruto composite:

There are two extremely important personal planets missing here (jupiter and mercury) so the picture isn’t complete but based on what we have, we can tell quite a bit of the story.

Venus conjunct sun is a very good aspect which means the relationship makes the people involved in it feel good, have fun, ... Sun trine moon and venus trine moon are also great aspects to have so that’s nice. Mars trine saturn could make them more organized and better at acting together in a systematic way. Neptune trine mars could mean that they understand each other’s actions and drive (in a physical/tangible sense, not necessarily the reasons behind them) intuitively.

Sun square mars is similar to my previous point, lots of energy which will at best lead to working effectively together against outside forces and at worst will lead to violence, unhealthy rivalry/arguments and constant irritation. 

Mars-neptune, not seeing the nature of the relationship properly, delusion, illusion, escapism, an unwillingness to see the relationship for what it is, ... neptune-saturn and lack of proper boundaries. 

Ascendant in aries and the rival look, sun in virgo (coworkers, a work relationship), composite sun in the 5th, a fun, dramatic and creative relationship, composite moon in the first, projecting feelings about the relationship all over the place, it just can’t be hidden and the outside world sees you as emotionally tied together, perhaps more so than you actually are unless there are other strong moon aspects to personal planets, ...

One thing that is oddly not here is major pluto aspects, however, if lack of aspects to a planet in a composite chart is similar to a natal chart then it could make that planet’s themes more prominent because the energy has no proper outlet so it pops up everywhere.

It is generated one inning at a time. Whoever've wins will be just as much as surprise to me)

America is moving to 3rd base to give his arm a rest, with England taking over as pitcher for the Freedom Fighters. For the Starburst Sluggers, Japan is back on the mound with Italy moving to center field. Let's see how these changes impact the game."

"Leading off for the Starburst Sluggers is Nyo!America, the team captain, playing shortstop."

Nyo!America vs. England:

Pitch 1: England starts with a fastball at 89 mph. Nyo!America swings and misses. "Strike one!" Nice first pitch of the game for England.

Pitch 2: Curveball at 76 mph. Nyo!America watches it go by. "Ball one."

Pitch 3: Fastball at 90 mph. Nyo!America connects, sending a line drive to left field at 104 mph. Sweden rushes in and makes the catch! "Out number one!"

"Nice catch by Sweden! Next up is Romano, 'Mouth,' wearing number 16 and playing first base." Amelia calls a time out from the dug out bringing Romano back in. While this time out is underway let's take a look at our sub in pitcher for the evening, England. Known for his constancy and position on third base England is not typically a pitcher, in fact he's never pitched an official game before. But in the draft Amelia picked all teh pitcher in her line up and England was the one with the most control over the ball to step up to the task after a short try out. Let's hope he can prove himself tonight, and maybe he'll make himself into a regular sub. You never know!

Alright there is the clock. Time out is over and Romano, number 16 is coming back out to the plate he loos determined, let's see what he can do."

Romano vs. England:

Pitch 1: England delivers a slider at 81 mph. Romano swings and misses. "Strike one!"

Pitch 2: Fastball at 89 mph. Romano watches it go by. "Ball one."

Pitch 3: Curveball at 77 mph. Romano connects, sending a high fly ball to deep right field at 110 mph. It's going, going... gone! A solo home run for Romano! "The Sluggers close the gap to 14-11!" What a hit by Romano! That one is going straight to a lucky fan in the stands. I wonder what Amelia said in her pep talk, but I guess we'll never know. seemed to do teh trick whatever it was. Score is 14-11

"Romano with another home run! He’s on fire today. Next up is Iceland, number 45, playing second base."

Iceland vs. England:

Pitch 1: England throws a fastball at 89 mph. Iceland swings and misses. "Strike one!"

Pitch 2: Curveball at 76 mph. Iceland watches it go by. "Ball one."

Pitch 3: Slider at 80 mph. Iceland connects, sending a grounder to shortstop at 95 mph. Denmark fields it cleanly and throws to first. "Out number two!" Nothing he could have done about that Denmark is a great short stop it's hard to get one past him.

"Two outs now. Spain, 'Matador,' is up to bat, wearing number 12 and playing left field."

Spain vs. England:

Pitch 1: England throws a fastball at 89 mph. Spain swings and misses. "Strike one!"

Pitch 2: Slider at 81 mph. Spain watches it go by. "Ball one."

Pitch 3: Fastball at 90 mph. Spain connects, sending a high fly ball to deep left field at 108 mph. Sweden moves back and makes the catch. "Out number three!"

"Another homerun for Romano tonight, love to see those players who don't normally hit power hits have a great night. You just know he's going to rub it in later, it's what he does after all. The Sluggers still have to hold off the Fighters and do some catching up if they want to get their lead back but for now the score is 14-11 in the Freedom Fighters favor."

"Leading off for the Freedom Fighters is Greece, wearing number 07 and playing center field. Japan, 'The Tsunami,' is back on the mound for the Starburst Sluggers. Coming back from his rest ready to finish up the game."

Pitch 1: Japan starts with a fastball at 90 mph. Greece swings and misses. "Strike one!"

Pitch 2: Curveball at 78 mph. Greece watches it go by. "Ball one."

Pitch 3: Fastball at 91 mph. Greece connects, sending a line drive to right field at 100 mph. Canada dives but can’t make the catch! Greece is on with a single!"

Pitch 1: Japan throws a fastball at 90 mph. Austria takes a big swing and fouls it off. "Strike one!"

Pitch 2: Curveball at 78 mph. Austria watches it go by. "Ball one."

Pitch 3: Fastball at 91 mph. Austria connects, sending a towering fly ball to deep left field at 110 mph. It's gone! A solo home run for Austria! "The Freedom Fighters extend their lead to 15-11!" Amazing! What a hit for Austria!
