Clone^2 Damian
If you really think about, Damian's situation in the clone^2 au is... kinda tragic? Especially in the early months of his arrival. Like,,, think about it. Damian has always known he was a clone of Damian Wayne, that he was a copy of the blood son. There was nothing 'original' about him, not even his name (of which at least Danny has that). He was just... a replacement. A disposable one, to boot.
And he knew that, to an extent, by the time he was six years old. he might not have been actively acknowledging it -- he's six years old -- but deep down he knew. And like, he's six years old. Every small child craves the love and affection of an adult, especially their parents, and even though he knew he was clone, I imagine he still considered - and still does consider, somewhat - Talia and Bruce as his mother and father. And I really doubt he was... getting it?
Now, I know Talia loves Damian, her son. At least in some interpretations she does, and in this au she does. But... a clone of her son? I'm not so certain if she would have the same affection for baby Dames as she would for Damian. I don't think she would treat him badly, but I don't think Talia would treat him warmly either. Kinda just, distant. Colder than she would have been with OG Damian.
And, I know I've mentioned Damian's arrival from Danny's point of view, and its kind of comical kind of insane from his perspective -- a little boy clone of Damian Wayne falls through a portal and immediately attacks him. That sounds like a bad joke.
But, if you think of this from Damian's point of view? It's like he just got dropped into a scary movie. Like, think about it. You're six years old, and suddenly a portal, as green and as swirling as your grandfather's pools, opens up beneath your feet and sucks you through.
After an intense bout of vertigo, you end up in a massive, urban city -- completely different from the rural mountain palace that you lived in for the last six years of your life, and in this city, you don't know any of the language. You don't know what anyone is saying, you can't read any of the signs - you are completely stranded, away from home.
And then, to make things worse, you're facing a figure with a terrifying mask and eyes as burning green as the portal you fell through. Of course Damian's first instinct, six years old, is to attack. He's terrified.
And this figure, he's not a good fighter, but he's fast, and he dodges you quickly. He grabs your sword with his hands, and tries to restrain you, saying something in a language you don't know. Naturally, Damian is just scared. He's six! He'd just be learning how to read if he was normal child going to school.
This figure halfway through the fight yanks off his mask -- he realizes you're scared -- and looking at you now, is a youthful version of your father. This is a clone of your dad, someone you have never met but, six years old, still wants to. Damian gets defensive. This is an imposter.
But this imposter eventually gets you home with him - and he's using his little box, his phone, to communicate with you through a mechanical voice speaking in arabic. and it's frustrating. The boy, the imposter, can say whatever to you just fine, but trying to talk back is a hassle and a half. He's six, he doesn't have that much patience.
He wants to go home.
And so he keeps trying to run away. He keeps trying to find out of this hellish concrete jungle, and he keeps getting lost. It's loud, and busy, and there are people talking to you and you don't understand them, and there are rules and signs you don't understand - Damian tries to cross the street and nearly gets hit by a car. He doesn't know how the road signs work, he was never taught. They didn't get to that.
And he gets lost. And it gets dark, and Damian is brave, but he is six, and this is the worst stress he's been under in all his six years of life. He wants, desperately more than anything, to go home. Why wouldn't he? The only stable... semi-stable environment he was in just got ripped out from under his feet, literally! He wants his mother.
And it's not happening.
But there's something good to be said, at least. The imposter that looks like his father always comes and finds him, no matter what. He could have left that morning, and he will find Damian at midnight, frazzled and worried, and carrying an extra jacket with him because it is cold in Amity Park and Damian is six years old.
And sometimes Damian attacks him - he's scared and stressed and he doesn't want to be here. And every time he catches the sword. Even though Damian can see it cut into his hand and pearls of blood well up and stains his fingers. Even though Damian can see him wince in pain and bite his lip, he still catches it.
But with that little box, he coaxes Damian to come back with him. It's cold, it's dark, Amity Park is unsafe at night. They can figure something out tomorrow, please. And every time, he agrees, reluctantly. And the imposter takes the extra jacket he brought with -- a flannel, a hoodie, a jacket -- and he wraps it around him. It's warm, Damian's clothes are not that thick, and even though he thinks he might hate this imposter, he still sticks close to his legs as he leads him down the street.
And sometimes the imposter carries him, because Damian's shoes are not that thick, and he cuts his foot on broken glass while they're walking home. The imposter sits in the bathroom with him and carefully cleans the cut out, and makes sure it doesn't get infected.
There's hope you know, he still has it. His mother will be looking for him. She'll be worried. He's important to them. Damian may not be the original, but he is still a blood son. He is still her son. She will come find him. This nightmare will end soon. He can go home.
And then weeks pass, and nothing. Then months, and nothing. His family is not coming for him, and it hurts. Hurts more than anything. And yet while that happens, the boy he's attacked, and hurt, teaches himself arabic in order to speak to him. He takes Damian out of the house one afternoon and buys him new clothes, or tries to. And then he keeps buying him new clothes. He gives him blankets and gives up his bed to him until they can get him one himself, and steadily he teaches Damian english.
This boy is kind. Kinder than Damian's ever experienced, and he doesn't know what to do with it. He's devastated by the fact that he is not as important to his family as his family is to him. What do you do when you're six years old and you learn something like that? When a random stranger who looks like your father is kinder to you, and cares more about you than your family did?
And then Damian tells him he's a clone. He's Damian Wayne's clone, and he tells him his purpose - that their grandfather made him to kill him. And the boy, the imposter, Damian thinks he probably already knows that he's a clone. But he doesn't say that. He just nods, and asks him if he wants to tell his original about him.
Damian says no. He doesn't want to. He's tired of living in the shadow of his original. He wants to keep this to himself. This is his. For once, all of this is his.
And to his surprise, the imposter doesn't try and convince him otherwise. He just nods, and says okay. And when Damian asks why, the imposter - his brother - looks at him and says.
"I don't care about Damian Wayne. I care about you." And in Damian's gobsmacked silence, his brother continues. He tells him that if Damian doesn't want to tell his original that he exists, then they don't need to. They don't need to worry about the LoA going after him, because clearly if his 'grandfather' needs to make a clone of Damian in order to take him out, then whatever it was that Damian Wayne was doing to keep himself safe, was working.
"Wayne already has people in his corner, he's got Gotham's army of vigilantes to keep himself safe." his brother says with his eyes as blue as moonlight. "You, however. Do not." And he continues, and says that if Damian Wayne has the same training as Damian does, then he will be fine. He doesn't need to be aware of his clone. Because if DW doesn't know about Damian, then the LoA doesn't either.
And here's the thing. Damian would not have survived in the LoA for long. Not as a clone. No matter what, he was going to die no matter what he did, and sooner rather than later. The sword of Damocles was always hanging above his head in the League of Assassins.
That portal, and meeting Danny, saved his life. There's no way around it. And to an extent Damian knows this even at six years old. He may not be aware that he would've died, but he knows that meeting Danny was the best thing to happen to him.
It's no wonder after that, that Damian is as clingy to Danny as he is. Danny is the first person he's met to offer him unconditional love, with no strings attached, only pure affection.

I'm convinced Kashimo is supposed to be the representative of gojo's inner feelings and thoughts.
For a number of reasons..
Reason number 1:
The similar appearance.
The fact that making two characters look similar is a very common way for mangakas to indicate that these characters have the same values and the same way of thinking or even a similar role (or a character arc).
An example that comes to mind is Bakugo and Kudo from my hero academy:
This happens A LOT in anime & manga and I'm pretty sure that gege wanted us to think of Gojo whenever we see Kashimo.
Interesting colors Gegeđ
With blue eyes, and the the kanji for purple cloud in his surname
He even has the frog face
TWINS
Reason number 2:
I think Kashimo is basically Gojo but with more freedom, he can be feral whenever he wants and he even kills people.
And that's why he always ends up expressing what we know Gojo is thinking but isn't speaking out loud.
And once you see it you can't unsee it.
Here are some examples:
Gojo appears to be having such a great time, that Yuji wonders if he's thinking of Megumi at all. and Kashimo Starts acting as though he's relieving Satoru of the guilt of enjoying himself in this situation???
(This panel is actually what opened my third eye and made me theorize that maybe Kashimo is meant to tell us what Satoru isn't saying)
And I wasn't disappointed with the next chapters...
He's the only one that gets Satoru here.
Also there's this interesting thing here:
"Kashimo vs Sukuna!! Facing off in their true forms!!"
I find it interesting that Sukuna only turned into his true form after he killed Satoru...
It's like he only came forth after Satoru's "true" form (Kashimo) came out idk idk.
And the fact that he used the weapon Yorozu gave him on Kashimo. Hmmm
Reason number 3:
Gege always draws a connection between them.
Satoru's fight and Kashimo's are treated as one..
After Satoru died; the Kashimo fight starts immediately, and he gets killed in two chapters.
He gets to talk about love and loneliness with Sukuna after he died (we didn't get that with gojo it went to Kashimo)
The fight of the strongest is over.
We cut to Kenjaku's fight.
Gege literally made a character whose only goal was to fight Sukuna then he killed him in a single chapter.
That tells me gege only made him for that conversation about love đ¤ˇââď¸
The conclusion:
(This is what made me make this post in the first place đ¤)
If we accept that Kashimo is the representative of Gojo's inner self then...
We can safely assume that Gojo would've thought the following regarding Sukuna's true form:
(He's Using a special kind of visual prowess too...)
Think about it...
What Kashimo was saying about people being like dirt to him was kind of bad.
If that was truly how Gojo views people then I bet he was feeling guilty about it, no wonder he didn't say that shit to anyone.
He told Geto he views them as a flower. Satoru I love you T_T
(Gojo relating more to curses than humans walk with me) that's why he gets freaky with them.
But Viewing humans as nothing, and on top of that admiring the king of curses??? and calling him Perfection??? Beautiful even???
Nah.. Nanami was right this mf Satoru is a jujutsu pervertđđ
Like.....
This is the conversation they were having after they saw him fight...
Gege Why are you bringing it up now indeed
Hmmmmmmmm
đđđđ
#jjk#jujutsu kaisen#hajime kashimo#gojo satoru#ryomen sukuna#sukugo#gosuku#my post#I'll make everything about sukugo#You know your ship is peak tragic yaoi when the writer has to make up a completely new character just to make a parallel#to bring all the subtext into text because our boys are too repressed to actually discuss anything directly lmaoo#I've seen this way too many times in other shows#In this case he even made two!! If we count Yorozu since she also serves the same purpose#Damn.. one before the fight with gojo and another one after itđ gege really wanted to drive the point home..#And some people still don't get it smh

Yknow, the only thing I knew about EOM before going into it was the ship between Lethica and Marius (tho I didnât know the characters names, just the ship between them via fanart), and I had kinda written it off as âoh, hot boi x hot girl, okayâ.
(Spoilers up to episode 11 under cut)
But then I started watching EOM. And with the mixture of their personalities blending well together, the constant back and forth with âI agree with Mariusâ âI agree with Lethicaâ, the literal Darkness x Light trope (granted, mostly itâs because of their respective gods, but still), and just. Specific moments.
Like Lethica paying attention to what Marius ate for breakfast the previous morning, and took some with her to give to him when he caught back up to them after his conversation with the High Inquisitor, or Marius somehow fucking reviving Lethica (despite not having the Revivify spell available to him at their current level), and their hug afterwards??? I just.
I get it now. I mean, I started getting it by the time they cleansed the Crooked House, but now? Iâm fucking loving this ship. It is just. Amazing. I love it.
#also Marius thanking shar for Lethica being alive#even tho he doesnât worship shar#and all things considered shar is basically the polar opposite of Lathander#I just. hnngh.#how many light x dark ships have I shipped now?#4? 5? and all of them also coincidentally being from D&D campaigns#tho I think only one of them counts on a technicality but Iâm counting it anyway#what can I say? Iâm a sucker for light x dark#and yes itâs different than life x death or sunshine x grump#legends of avantris#edge of midnight#lethica nightborne#marius renathyr#lethicus#is there no better ship name for them?#Ik making ship names is hard but like. we can be a LITTLE creative here#personally im gonna call them nightlight for the time being :)#yknow bc Lethicas last name is nightborne and Marius serves Lathander#who is the god of light#srry itâs 2:30am and Iâm delusional about them#and also I am. very tired.

The thing about Prowl is I don't really think canon was ever trying to frame him as a "necessary evil" or anything along the lines of "he's a shitty person but his work was necessary" like mmm.... That feels very much like something Prowl wants to believe about himself, not something that's actually factually true in reality.
I can't really make a good argument about it because I only remember like a handful of standout Prowl Moments in IDW1 but like... Prowl dropping a bomb on a neutral city and blaming it on the Decepticons is not "a necessary evil," that's a war crime. Prowl trying to destroy the space bridge to Caminus to keep Starscream from getting power over it, dooming the entire planet and its inhabitants to extinction by starvation, is not "a necessary evil," it's a fucking war crime. I feel like trying to frame such drastic measures as him "doing the dirty work of the Autobots" feels way too much like an excuse for actions that actually aren't justifiable. Especially since Prowl himself is far from being the 100% rational guy he thinks he is, considering how often he bases his decisions on things like his anti-Decepticon bias and his general refusal to follow any orders that contradict what he thinks is The Right Thing To Do (TM).
But also I think this is kind of the fault of the narrative of IDW1, since very few Autobots besides Prowl are given the chance to actually be morally gray even when the worldbuilding implicates them in some very morally gray things. Like, for example, JRO adding in the existence of MTOs which implies that the normally squeaky-clean leader Optimus was willing to approve the creation of new soldiers just to throw them into combat (and even the attempts to humanize the MTOs by giving them "an education" were eventually cut down to nothing but combat optimizations). And there's also the fact that Optimus knows about the Wreckers and has been known to call them on missions at least once (Stormbringer), meaning he's very much aware of the Wreckers and their tactics and is willing to call them in for fights when it's necessary.
I don't think you need to use Prowl as a crutch to make the Autobots morally gray. I think the Autobot leadership (or at least, Optimus, since few people besides him or Prowl seem to have major tactical command over the army as a whole) is plenty morally gray enough on its own, because the nature of war is inherently morally gray no matter how righteous your cause is. Reducing the lives of your own people into numbers on maps, harvesting resources, bringing MTOs to life just to die in a war they practically have no stake in, those things are enough.
And tbh it kind of bothers me when people try to saddle Prowl with the "dirty work of the Autobots", not just because it frames Prowl's blatantly evil actions as some sort of savior act taking the blame from the rest of the Autobots (which isn't even accurate, because the blame for war crimes falls on the entire army as an institution rather than one person), but because it downplays the moral grayness of the Autobots and pretends that no Autobot BESIDES Prowl ever participated in morally gray actions, which simply isn't true.
TLDR: Prowl isn't as much of a hero as he thinks he is because committing atrocities in the name of your cause doesn't change the fact that they're atrocities (and may not have even been justified). However, painting Prowl as the "token evil teammate" of sorts also places too much blame for the atrocities of war on him in particular, when in reality that's a burden shared by Optimus Prime and any other members of the Autobot military command structure.
#squiggposting#meta#prowl feels like one of those characters where people trust what he says at face value when like. he's very much not a reliable narrator#prowl SAYS that he does the dirty work no one else is willing to do but. is it really dirty work?#or is it just him authorizing dirty work and hiding it on his own and justifying it in the name of 'it's for the autobots'?#to draw on an old fandom of mine: 'what is the difference between you and the decepticons now?'#'isn't it obvious prime? i serve the autobots'#but also this is kind of the fault of JRO because like he's the main idw writer that explores what things were like during the war#while still being unwilling to part from the ideal of OP as the best prime and the all good and loving leader#barber gets into morally gray OP but it almost entirely concerns post war stuff so i wouldnt really count it

Wang LingJiao used the chance to scramble out. She took out a cylinder of fire-light from her lapels and shook it a few times. A light shot out of the cylinder. Along with a sharp whistle, it rushed out of the wooden window and exploded in the sky outside. Then, she fumbled out a second one, a third one. Hair tangled, she mumbled, âCome⌠Come⌠Come here⌠Everyone, come here!â Through the pain, Wei WuXian pushed Jiang Cheng, âStop her from sending any more signals!â Jiang Cheng let go of Wei WuXian and lunged in the direction of Wang LingJiao. Yet, at the same time, Wen ZhuLiu was closing in on Madam Yu. He looked as if he was about to knock her down. Jiang Cheng hurried, âMom!â He immediately gave up on Wang LingJiao and threw himself over. Wen ZhuLiu didnât even turn his head as he struck, âNot even close!â Jiang Chengâs shoulder suffered the attack. Blood immediately burst from his mouth. Wang LingJiao had already let out all of the signal fire-lights. Sharp whistles and bright sparks filled the entire grey-blue sky. - Chapter 58, EXR
It's quite interesting how, in this moment, Jiang Cheng does exactly what he's always criticised Wei Wuxian of doing: endangering the Yunmeng Jiang sect by 'playing the hero'. That's not what either of them are doing, of course â it isn't a motivation for Jiang Cheng here, it's not a motivation for Wei Wuxian anytime else, and the motivations they have definitely make sense â but it's exactly the sort of behaviour Jiang Cheng would criticise Wei Wuxian for, with those exact words.
Yet, no character ever criticises him for this â Wei Wuxian doesn't, even when it was his (necessary) advice that was disregarded; Madam Yu doesn't, even when her sect suffered as a consequence. Even when it very likely played a role in Lotus Pier's downfall (at least in getting a lot of Wen sect cultivators to get there very fast), it's never brought up by any character ever again... whereas Wei Wuxian's action of saving Lan Wangji, Jin Zixuan and Mianmian in the Xuanwu cave constantly is, even when the Wen sect was pretty certainly going to attack Lotus Pier anyway*. That's not to say Jiang Cheng should be blamed for the fall of Lotus Pier, either â that's on the Wen sect, and regardless of both of their actions, the attack was probably going to be a success. And can we blame someone for making a panicked decision protect his mother? â but one's action is definitely more direct than the other, and it's not the one that's constantly blamed.
The aim, though, isn't to compare the actions so much as the attitudes of the people involved, and this is another little detail that shows the imbalance in Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng's dynamic. Again, Wei Wuxian doesn't say anything about this afterwards, and doesn't seem to blame him, even when it's his words that were disregarded, and when the Jiang sect and Lotus Pier were undoubtedly very important to him as well. Which is good! That's a good thing and definitely the healthier option for both of them! If the roles were flipped, and Wei Wuxian saved a(n admittedly non-Yu Ziyuan) person, disregarding Jiang Cheng's orders while leading to more danger falling on Lotus Pier? Jiang Cheng would never stop blaming him or bringing it up. Even after the many years that passed between then and Wei Wuxian's resurrection, he still blames Wei Wuxian for the fall of Lotus Pier due to his actions in the Xuanwu cave** â once again, a much less direct scenario.
--
*Very strategic location (trade hub etc), they attacked the Cloud Recesses already, Jiang Cheng's internal narration literally admits this:
In his heart, Jiang Cheng knew clearly that back in the cave of the Xuanwu of Slaughter at Dusk-Creek Mountain, even if Wei WuXian hadnât saved Lan WangJi, the Wen Sect would have found some reason to come over sooner or later. But he had always felt that, if the whole thing with Wei WuXian didnât happen, maybe it wouldnât have been so soon, maybe there wouldâve been some way to turn things around - Chapter 59, EXR
Yet there was some time between the end of the Wen indoctrination and the Fall of Lotus Pier, and we never even saw attempts at security adjustments!
**As we see in the Ancestral Hall:
Jiang Cheng mocked, âLook how forgetful you are. What does unwelcome people mean? Then let me remind you. It was because you played the hero and saved Second Young Master Lan, whoâs standing beside you right now, that the entire Lotus Pier and my parents went down with you." - Chapter 87, EXR
#also when i do the chapter-by-chapter analysis reread i do want to count how many times jc responds to wlj vs how many times wwx responds#because from not counting it seems jc might have done it more? and that obviously would serve to anger her as well#(and yet she only glares at wwx when he says something â in her case probably more due to her grudge bc of xuanwu cave?#-as although she DOES talk about the place of servants etc i'm pretty sure the wen sect views *everyone* as below them#and they have the power to kill the jiang clan and get away with it - there isn't fear due to power/status there#plus it's not like she cares about/is very informed about talking derogatorily to/about members of the non-wen gentry (or even wzl)#(see: how she talks to Madam Yu)#BUT that being said she still is very classist (despite her position â both things can be true) and wwx's background probably played-#a role in how bad the grudge was? bc someone so low (non-wen and not even part of the gentry) did that to her... though it *definitely*-#would've existed regardless and i don't think it would've changed anything on her end had it been someone else/had wwx BEEN part of it)#(also yzy did play a major role in this as well but that's not the point of discussion in this post)#mdzs#mdzs meta#my meta#mo dao zu shi#ééçĽĺ¸#grandmaster of demonic cultivation#gdc#jiang cheng#wei wuxian#poisons 3#i guess this is jiang cheng critical even though my intention really isn't to bash him#just... power imbalance class imbalance and insecurities fun times

IT ARRIVED IT ARRIVED IT ARRIVED
DESPITE EVERYTHING DESPITE MY CHRONICALLY CURSED INTERNATIONAL MAIL PROBLEM I AM STILL THE ZONE RPG
#bakuspeech#and I guess this counts as#bakuspecial#ouuuuuu#my art! on cards! characters I kinda got to build with my visuals!!#also upon getting this which I had mailed to the senpai's place instead of mine in an effort to break the curse we immediately#ran a game. that was supposed to be short. but ended up extending past midnigt#AND had to stop for the night before act 2 even begins#but. its SO fun. the game pieces do just the right amount of heavy lifting for u that it frees u up to make up Real out there stuff#like. we ran a game on the browser version. and while it was also Really fun it got stressful to make stuff up#now if we're stuck we just pick up cards#and like. idk for kinda the first time really? I get the appeal of roleplaying with someone else#I'm usually such a control freak about the stories I tell lmao#with the visual aids in this set I get to imagine the character dynamics so much more easily#like this time around the senpai picked the scientist archetype#and he made that guy a white guy with some means who has been sending people to death to serve his science#and my character's an asian guy who was with a pest control service (yes I picked the trevor henderson character lmao)#who got drafted into the bureau and works as like cleanup/fodder#so immediately I got to go like oh so I hate your guts. and you condescend at me#which turned out to be a Very fun dynamic to roleplay lmao#throughout act 1 we've made this dynamic steadily Worse. one of them envies the other into oblivion#while the other can now communicate with No one except his mission partner#and we're gonna craft the second act as chase. a predator and a prey. gods. it was SO fun#its so funny both of them were touting to be smart or good at their job. and then they went into the zone and Immediately got fucked up#this game really gives u that satisfaction and fascination with like. when things go wrong in way too thematically fitting and messy ways#lmao my contract's fulfilled I do not have to talk this game up. its just really fun. man I enjoy that so much#sadly my pool of english speakers who can play this game with me is not big#I'll try and find time to run a few small games in the near future... maybe during lunar new year#I was over at the senpai's today to toast out birthdays lol. to get that out of the way we've been planning something like that for weeks#weve been both way too busy. with different sliding scales of uh. how pleasant that busy's been

it's so weird to see posts like "this is my rook, hes zevran's son and an antivan crow" bcs I'm not the one to be mean about the headcanons but...
is... is the child in their rebellious phase? Do they hate their father? I mean, have you even played the first game? Because the entire character arc of Zevran revolves around how much he hates the Crows, their cruel methods and that, besides being assassins, they are also a bunch of degenerate assholes. When he sees a bloody altar he's like "OH WE DID THAT SHIT IN THE CROWS TOO :)". They killed his father (something hes probably not aware of). They made him kill his lover, just so he remembered that he was nothing to them, that he was disposable, like everyone else. He dedicated a significant part of his life to killing off the guildmasters (not only of the House Arainai, as I felt Lucanis suggested? The whole banter with Harding proves the writers were too lazy to even, idk, read a wiki page). So I swear, the only explanation is that the child just got pissed at his father and was like "that's it, im joining the crows. Yes, dad, out of spite!", which I don't even think is possible, but. ok kiddo, that's a bit harsh.
Crows literally ruined his life. Singlehandedly.
and i mean, again, these are just headcanons so i shouldnt judge it but I feel like DAV is to blame here, bcs it twisted the Crows order so much, it's... bizarre. Someone just saw Zev's uniform and was like "how about we bring these guy's back, people will thirst over this, I think they're assassins or smth, so it's hot. Also make the uniform fucking ugly this time"
and i wouldnt have a problem with that, if it was supposed to shed a new light on the Crows. But that's absolutely not what they're doing, they straight up retconned it and I know DAV is a huge fucking retcon, but still why
(ps. I know Lucanis was not introduced in DAV, but the post isn't about him, but the Crows in general)
(also now that i think about it Zev would make an absolutely horrible father, so maybe his child really does hate him)
(its supposed to be more about the crows in dav in general and I assume that some people actually have a story about that crow thing. which could actually be interesting, fr)
#of course the crows in the veilguard are a laughing stock#but again what should i expect from people that dont remember zevran who serves as our source of information#in the games hes actually the only one to ever talk about the crows in detail#maybe except ignacio#leliana and josie's remarks dont count bcs they are vague af#also obviously theres a matter of grey wardens just... being unable to produce a child but in this case ig fiona did get pregnant#obviously it had to do with the architect but you can build some story around that#as of why would you want ur warden to have a kid? dont get it but im not the one to judge#dragon age the veilguard#zevran arainai

merlin S1 rewatch: episode 10 â
how could I not love the tale of the weird misfit who returns home one day, bringing with him an even weirder assortment of friends, to teach everyone how to fight back against the oppressors who have been stealing their resources?
but enough about a bugâs life. let's talk about the episode.
⢠I see Hunith throwing herself at a bandit and I immediately go âoh thatâs where he gets it fromâ. I love you Hunith, you mad gal <3
⢠Hunithâs audience with the king is interesting â not just because sheâs pleading with the man who would kill her son without a second thought if he knew about his magic, and she goes so far as to call him âa good kingâ and âa caring manâ while doing so, but also because Uther seems genuinely sympathetic, even if unwilling to intervene. I think that says something about Uther â I think in the eyes of the people who donât care much about sorcerers and their ilk, Uther is a decent, perhaps even a good, king. Certainly not the tyrant that Merlin and Morgana consider him to be (justifiably so).
⢠âI wish that Camelot was able to help people regardless of how far away they livedâ, Arthur says, almost as if there were a prophecy about a united Albion under his reign
⢠âI want to make him pay for what he did to youâ -> when Merlin sees Kanen is ON SIGHT. I love protective Merlin.
⢠I love this so much. âMost powerful sorcerer on Earthâ well to his mama heâs just a little boy. have you considered that
⢠Merlin almost decapitating Arthur lol. Itâs a good thing Arthur has good reflexes or this wouldâve have been a much shorter story
⢠YAY! A NEW KILL
⢠When Arthur ruins Merlin and Willâs little reunion and Will is immediately unimpressed
⢠âAm I the only one wondering who the hell this is?â > Will really interrupted Arthurâs speech to loudly ask âexcuse you who the fuck are you??â and I love him for it
⢠The fact that Merlin just straight up slept on the floor. Like I get it, they are poor, but youâre telling me he had nothing all the years he lived there? not even a straw mattress, nothing?? because that sounds kind of weird. I mean alright, Iâll accept it, but I think itâs weird. I think if you had to sleep on the ground every night for years youâd try to make yourself a bit comfortable even if you never âknew any differentâ
⢠Anyway, I guess that explains why Merlin was reluctant to part with his bed when Alice moved in with him and Gaius. âIâm not going back to sleeping on the floor thank you! I love beds nowâ
⢠MERLIN: âLifeâs simple out here (...)â / ARTHUR: âSounds⌠niceâ / MERLIN: âYouâd hate itâ -> I like that Arthur was trying really hard not to say anything rude about Merlinâs old life, and that Merlin was like âitâs alright you can say it sucksâ, because really he wasnât cut out for that kind of life either. Itâs also funny that Arthur later tells Gwen he fantasies about being a farmer, like SIR BE REAL. You'd hate it.
⢠Arthur pretending to eat Hunithâs food. Making fake noises like a toddler. Spoiled brat behaviour
⢠WILL: Why did you leave? / MERLIN: It wasn't what I wanted. My mother was worried. When she found out you knew, she was so angry. â it sounds like Will actually didnât know about Merlinâs secret for very long before Merlin had to leave. And the fact that Will has to ask Merlin why he left implies Merlin did it without even a goodbye or a made-up excuse. Merlinâs departure being apparently so rushed because Hunith feared for his safety means that the attitude towards magic in Ealdor isn't actually very different from Camelotâs, despite it not being officially outlawed.
⢠Arthur is a good leader!! and in this episode he shows it in big ways, like in his âBattle of St. Crispin speechâ moment, but also in more subtle ways, like when he notices during training that Matthew is a hopeless fighter, and instead of dismissing him he takes him aside and goes âMatthew my friend I have a special task for you :)â, as a way of keeping him away from the fight while still making him feel useful, and without hurting his pride. (Sadly, this backfires later.) I know the fandom likes to joke about Arthur being a dumbass but he can be very perceptive (at times). And he is good at strategic thinking.
⢠No comment. Just Gwen and Morgana sharing blankets. They are very good pals.
⢠Merlin telling Arthur: âWe're going to make Kanen rue the day he ever came to this villageâ hits different when I remember he said he wanted to make Kanen pay for striking his mother
⢠âIn this circle, we're all equalsâ â a circle is very much like a round table in this way
⢠I love moments like Arthurâs Rousing Speech⢠â because they show why he is the one destined to unite Albion. Heâs capable of inspiring people and gaining the support of those who initially disliked him (Merlin, Gwaine, Will himself, to name a few), because he is noble of heart, and brave, and caring, etc. And yeah, heâs also a brat at times, but to be fair to him heâs 21. And he has a shit father.
⢠âFood is scarce for these people, you shouldn't turn your nose up at it!â â Gwen is no shrinking violet okay!! She will lecture the prince, if the prince is being a brat. Iâm thinking about Arthur telling Agravaine âI don't want a queen who spends her days floating around the castle agreeing with my every wordâ in ep 4x09. He loves Gwen because sheâs not afraid of calling him out! (same goes for Merlin)
⢠GWEN: âI have faith in you. I mean. We all doâ / ARTHUR:
⢠Arthur helping Merlin with his armour is a very sweet moment. I canât believe Merlin was about to tell Arthur he had magic here. HE LITERALLY WAS ABOUT TO TELL HIM I'LL NEVER BE OVER IT
⢠Battle. Battle. Another kill for baby Merlin (!).
⢠IT FUCKEN WIMDY
⢠Iâm not entirely sure what the windstorm did to be honest, it didnât seem to kill anyone it just⌠scared the bandits away? Anyway, that doesnât matter. Willing suspension of disbelief and all that.
⢠Arthurâs face when he marched up to Merlin and Will like âTHAT WAS MAGIC WHO DID THAT?? IT WAS ONE OF YOU TWOâ. This man is NOT ready for the truth (and yet Merlin was prepared to confess AGAIN. He was literally about to do it I HATE THIS SHOW)
⢠(sigh) well how convenient
⢠LISTEN I know Will was pretty much dead anyway but I canât get over how NOBODY tried to do anything for him like?? They just put him on a table? And stared at him? Not even trying to do anything or. I donât know, offer a word of comfort. If I were Will Iâd be offended to be honest.
⢠Willâs last words being âMerlin, Iâm scared.â EVIL
Merlin: *watching his best friendâs body burn on the pyre* Arthur: well when were you going to tell me he was a sorcerer
⢠Hunith: POWERFUL WARLOCK? NO HE IS BABY
⢠"When the time is right, the truth will be known. Until then, you must keep your talents hidden. It's better for everyone.â â kind of funny how Hunith went from "you should tell Arthur, he'll understand, he cares about you :)" to "never mind, BACK IN THE CLOSET!!" And by funny I mean tragic.
âł prev commentaries
#unironically i do love a bug's life#when flik's all battered and bruised and he struggles to his feet and says âants are not meant to serve grasshoppers!!â#well. it made child me feel some kind of way#rewatch1.jls#merlin's body count: 6

Kingmaker is a cool game where eventually you have to ask yourself questions like "so how does this guard thing work" and "what is my OC's relationship with copaganda"
#unfortunately balthazar is a class traitor despite his origins he's out to get his and not bring anyone up with him#anything good that comes of that is incidental and comes from serving his ends rather than any semblance of principle#not sure if this is better or worse than carmen who is simply a cop. probably better. marginally.#smh. the nature of becoming integrated into a system of power I guess#rambling#I was going to award kas the Cop Enemy crpg OC prize but actually I think they lose points for fucking a fascist#I guess it must go to caina in dao. feels like he shouldn't count but here we are
