AU where Shen Jiu Qingqiu is forced to confront just how messed up his body and cultivation are

He realizes he's one bad qi deviation away from being a goner, and that qi deviation is basically inevitable in time

So he goes and snatches a suitable body with good spiritual veins. He wanted to put his demonic cultivation behind him, but this is an emergency, and in a matter of life and death, he ALWAYS will find a way to endure.

Except when he performs the ritual to transfer his own consciousness into the acceptable body candidate, something gets messed up, and he transfers someone else into the body instead. Another Shen, so the new inhabitant of the body says, who was dying of food poisoning until Shen Jiu performed the ritual.

This ridiculous Shen Yuan is saying that Shen Jiu saved his life, even though Shen Jiu TOLD him that he was a mistake! He is offering knowledge of the future as thanks, which is only more suspicious!!

But this horrible, spoiled little man does definitely hold a secret close to his chest of some kind, and Shen Qingqiu is determined to figure out what it is before being rid of Shen Yuan.

So Shen Jiu repeats the process of finding a suitable body for himself, repeats the transferal ritual, and--

ANOTHER FUCKING SHEN YUAN SHOWS UP IN THIS BODY TOO!!

((*Slaps roof of this AU* This [Qing Jing Peak] can fit SO MANY fucking [Shen Yuans] in it!))

And then the expected fatal qi deviation... it finally happens. But when it does, the Shen Yuans catch him early on and don't let him die. Shen Jiu isn't sure exactly what they do to him, but his mouth tastes like blood. They definitely transfered energy, alerted Mu Qingfang and Yue Qingyuan, and some unidentified third thing. The Little Beast is clinging to one of the Shen Yuans like a barnacle now, but that's hardly Shen Qingqiu's biggest concern at the moment.

He's alive. His qi is flowing. It hurts like a bitch, even now, but his spiritual pathways seem to be opening up again somehow???

I would highly recommend this fic btw, it's like a second chance/villain redemption fic, and it is really fun to watch Sauron struggle- *ahem* "Come to grips with how to be a 'good' person" and all the hilarity that entails. And feelings. And all that cool stuff.

I say crafty because him and MC were walking back to the castle and got drenched in the rain. Ellis ofc put his jacket over her, and when he escorted her up to her room she told him to come in and dry himself with a towel. Then he did a sloppy job of drying his own hair, and said that his clothes are wet, too, thus proceeding to unbutton his shirt. MC, flustered, turns her back to him (bless her)... I feel like he did that on purpose, either to impress her with his abs or to make her feel embarrassed at seeing him shirtless lmao

There was also that event when the villains get sick (if I recall correctly, I'm not certain what was it) and when Ellis falls ill, MC pampers him a lot. He pretends that he cannot feed himself just so that she could feed him AHAHA

The ending of maternal instinct is... weird? Doesn't make much sense?

Vlad has on the Specter Deflector, a belt that protects him from ghosts. Repeat after us: Vlad cannot be attacked by ghosts, he cannot be touched, because he is wearing a protective artifact created by the Fentons.

And it was Danny who gave it to him.

So why does he run away from the ghosts, when Danny turns them against him? It makes no sense.

They can't hurt him: he is protected by the Specter Deflector.

He can stay there, wait for Maddie to return and beg her to protect him from the, buhu oh so evil, ghosts. The fact that he has the belt on should be part of his plan!

Him running away is... a forced ending? Isn't Vlad just... winning? Now he can deal with Danny without Danny being able to touch him as a ghost, because he'll get hurt, and so he's forced to stay in his human boy form?

And Vlad is DEFINITELY stronger than him if they're both in human form?

(Maybe I will elaborate more on it later, maybe I won't. Or maybe I will write some fanfic, trying to understand what the heck happened here).

So many people write Magnus as this sort of suave, devious guy who charms his way into getting what he wants and I am here to argue that this misses his character by a mile. This guy is a failure of a person who is surprisingly nonviolent at the end of the day (but cannot tell the difference between psychological torment and physical abuse). Guy spent like a decade stewing in thoughts of revenge but crucially was only able to get a tiny fraction of it because someone else, MMA, pulled him into their schemes. He does make for a fun villain but it does seem that most people take him at surface value and forget that this mofo is so self sabotaging that he ruined his own life way worse than anyone else's.

Anatolius: The Records Keeper.

A bit of extra info/elaboration:

He's not a Councilor, but he does work closely to them- keeping records of the trials or (very rarely) they might seek his judgment. (Some of the Councilors are dear friends to him)

He's very vocal about upholding the angelic image painted by The Father and would take it upon himself to teach angels how they should behave appropriately when he could (amongst the standard things I imagine angels should know)

He takes a lot of pride in being an angel (the closest beings to God)

He will keep respectable distance from others and expect them to do the same (There are very few exceptions).

Blessed with never-ending memories. (Still, the repository is vast and he needs aid: Hence the little helpers!)

Gabriel is a star student of his. Anatolius sees him as the exemplary angel. He was incredibly proud of him...

A lot of Heaven's citizens looks up to him as a mentor figure (which meant that he had to pick up the majority of the pieces left in Gabriel's wake)

He could fight, but he's not a warrior.

Fragile. Doesn't take much damage to take him down. (Which is why he would rather stay out of fights and keeps some sort of barrier between him and his opponent. If he could, he will try to 'even the playing field' first)

Throw daggers, usually laced with something to amplify the damage.

Stuck in his ways. (Might lead to his downfall).

I have a lot of thoughts about him, but they're a mess, so I hope this come across as comprehensive.

Earth. What a weird name for a planet. And the inhabitants weren't much better. The so-called 'dominant species' barely even grasped that bacteria existed beyond their planet, let alone entire civilizations!! Their ignorance made it far too simple to take their precious pets and wildlife right from under their pathetic noses. In his opinion, they were pretty much asking for it!!

"This is so easy, it’s actually sad." The robot chuckled as he strode through the forest.

For weeks now, he had been capturing animals from various environments; and now, he had closed in on another. A raccoon, that had innocently wandered into his drone's capture-beam, and was lifted straight off the ground in front of him. He stepped right up to it, and tapped it on the nose. "Sorry!" He taunted, "But from what I've seen, I don't think anyone cares if I take you~" He sneered, watching the raccoon struggle in the strong beam, right before it was carried off toward his ship, cloaked not too far away. "But don't worry! With me, you'll actually serve a purpose!!!" He called to it mockingly, savoring the small 'victory' as he moved along, intent on capturing more creatures for his 'research'.
