SSR Sebek Zigvolt - Nightmare Suit Voice Lines
Due to event restrictions, Groovy related lines are locked until the event has been cleared. I will update once these are unlocked.
Halloween, eh... I've got this handled. I'll show everyone a very special fright! (Zero: Bark!)
Summon: This is Halloween! I'll teach you how truly terrifying Halloween can be.
Groovification: --LOCKED--
Home: I worry this will fray...
Swap Looks: Zero, are you coming along with me? (Zero: Bark, bark!)
Home Transition 1: I saw Leona-senpai taking a nap while surrounded by some undersea-creatures... He must have nerves of steel...
Home Transition 2: I passed by one of the townsfolk whose features resembled that of a bat... I feel as though they resemble one of the Thorn Fairy's men that I once saw in a painting.
Home Transition 3: Despite our strange predicament, Jade-senpai seems to be in high spirits... Is Octavinelle truly well with him as Vice Housewarden?
Home Transition - Login 1: --LOCKED--
Home Transition - Login 2: --LOCKED--
Home Transition - Groovy: --LOCKED--
Home Tap 1: I never thought I'd ever be wearing something so stitched and patched up like this... In any ordinary situation, I would have disposed of such clothing before it became this shoddy!
Home Tap 2: I thought Sally was a mere rag doll, but it seems she actually has more of a spine than I thought. I misjudged her!
Home Tap 3: Jack may rule over Halloween, but he behaves in such a frivolous manner! A king ought to be dignified, powerful ruler over their people.
Home Tap 4: Skully is just overwhelmingly enamored by Jack and his fellows... I'm getting increasingly exasperated every single time he raves on and on about his adoration.
Home Tap 5: Aah! ...Oh, it's just you. Don't scare me like that. Just a moment ago, one of the townsfolk jumped out of a trashcan when I tried to open it... This is no good for my poor heart!!
Home Tap - Groovy: --LOCKED--
DUO: [SEBEK]: Jade-senpai, I have no need for your assistance! [JADE]: I'll simply cheer you on, Sebek-kun.

hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii may i request a bonus scene for fucking perv?? congrats on 500!
500 BASH SPECIAL
#serene adds ✎... missed pervy soobin idc idc idc !!! not proofread! cw fingering, perverted and sick behaviour from soobin but reader is a freak who likes it too, yippie!
read full fic here !
Perhaps it had been a bad idea to let the pervy loser from your grade fuck your brains out a week ago. A whole seven days later and he wouldn’t stop trailing behind you at every given opportunity. Before he had at least tried to be a little subtle about it, now he blatantly stared at the curve of your ass as you bent down to pick up the book you’d dropped. Not to mention the multiple times he’d walked past you in the hallways, hands lingering on your waist as he brushed his hard on against your leg. It was never enough for anyone else to notice, only you.
You knew that you should be disgusted by his actions; especially when he’d sent you a printed picture of yourself, the paper wrinkly and soggy from being drenched in his cum. Sick fucking freak, you thought as you shoved the paper in the trashcan. But in truth, his small courses of perverted action against you only turned you on even further, did that make you the bigger freak?
The next day you wait for him. You both took English literature before lunch and as the classroom slowly filled out you stayed by your desk, twirling your pen between your glossed lips as your gaze remained on the window, watching the golden leaves falling from the trees. As the classroom door shuts, the room is enveloped in silence and you turn around in your chair only to find Soobin already looming over your desk.
You flinch as you peer up at him, fuck how long had he been standing there. That sick motherfucker. “What?” You sneer as you shoot him a small glare, dismissing the fact that you had stayed behind in the hopes that he would too. Soobin shifts on the spot as his gaze flickers down to your chest, the cleavage of your tight top on full display. “Freak”, you mutter as you snap your fingers in front of his face.
“Why have you been following me all week?” You question as you watch him with a small frown. He only shrugs as his hands dig into the pockets of his jeans. Rolling your eyes you get back from your chair as you walk over to him. “If you wanted to fuck me that bad you could’ve just asked, I mean, sent a text? Call? Like normal people do.” — He doesn’t reply and just as you’re about to go off on him again he suddenly pushes you up against your desk.
Your mouth falls open as you clutch onto the wood behind you. Soobin’s face is suddenly inches from you, his lips practically grazing your own glossy ones. “Would you have picked up if I called?” He murmurs as his hand pushes your skirt up above your thighs, eyeing the thin lace covering your cunt. “No.” You scoff before yanking on his hair as you slam your lips against his.
Soobin hums as his hand slips inside your thong, long fingers rubbing against your wet folds and you sigh into his mouth. “You threw my present away”, he grunts as he pushes a teasing finger inside your tight cunt, making you whine as your grip on his dark locks intensified. “It was fucking creepy of course I threw it away”, you retort as you grind your hips onto his hand.
His lips move to the side of your face before trailing down your neck. “I didn’t think it was”, he counters as his thumb rubs your clit menacingly. “H-ah, because you’re f-fucking sick”, you seethe as your gaze shifts over to the door of the classroom, briefly considering the fact that anyone could barge in at any given moment.
Soobin chuckles against your skin, “you worried someone’s gonna see you getting it good by the school’s freak?” he drawls as he adds a second finger inside of you, curling them against the small bundle of nerves that made you go cross eyed. “Of course I fucking am”, you snarl as your attention shifts toward the clock on the wall.
“Now hurry and make me finish, I don’t wanna miss lunch you perv.”

DogDay x Reader part 7
<-----part 6, part 8——>
Start of a new week which meant time for me to bathe DogDay. Oh, right and it’s my birthday today. I would normally request to have my birthday off, but I’d rather go to work and spend it with DogDay and Damian. I got ready for the day and made my way over to the factory.
---------------
To make sure I wouldn’t trip over anything like last time I turned on my flashlight. Since I knew where to go now I started to make my way to the washroom to prepare everything for DogDay. As I opened the door I was greeted by Bobby. “Hi Y/N.” Boy she couldn't sound any more fake. “Morning Bobby.” It looked like she was going to say something else to me but then her face completely changed as she said, “Good morning DogDay~” I turned and looked to see that DogDay was in fact heading towards us; and it looked like there was something all over his body. “Good morning BB and a special good morning to my Angel.” Immediate blushing. “What makes it a special morning for her?” Bobby asked with a hint of poison in her tone. “Well BB it’s Angel's birthday today which makes it a very special day.” As DogDay got closer to us I could now see what was on his body. Paint. A lot of paint. “Good morning DogDay. What happened? You’re covered in paint.” Paint would take much longer to get off him. “I can’t tell you that Angel, it’ll ruin the surprise.” He smirked at me. Is it getting hot in here?
I cleared my throat before saying, “Well I’m excited to see the surprise but let’s go get you washed up.” DogDay nodded and kindly asked Bobby to move out of the way. “Oh of course, please head right in~” As we walked past her I couldn’t help but glare at her. What was she up to?
---------------
“So, when do I get to see this surprise of yours?” “Later Angel, not till after your shift probably.” Dang. That’s twelve hours I must wait. “Sorry I got a little messy.” “A little? If this was a cartoon someone would think that you’re sick with all these different colors on you.” I nudged him lightly while laughing. We made it to his room and unlike last time DogDay seemed a bit calmer. “Alright mister you know the drill; strip yourself of your pendant while I find my apron.” “Haha yes ma’am.” He saluted me before removing his sun pendant.
When I walked over to where my apron was I started to smell a familiar scent. It smelled like vanilla but mixed in when something. I tied on my apron and walked over to where DogDays shampoo scent bottle was. “What’s wrong Angel?” “Your shampoo smells different.” DogDay made his way over to me and I held up the shampoo bottle to him so that he could get a better sniff. “Smells like vanilla and-” He took another sniff before saying, “Rose?” Rose? In an instant it clicked. Bobby. She mixed in her shampoo with his. Great. “Looks like Bobby wants you to smell like her.” DogDay made a puzzled face. “I wonder why.” I closed the bottle and set it down by the trashcan. No way am I putting that scent on him. “Is there another vanilla scented bottle in here?” DogDay shook his head no while saying, “Afraid not Angel.” His ears then perked up. “Oh! But there should be an extra one down in the storage closet from here.” “Great, I’ll be right back.” As I left the room I heard DogDay say, “Hurry back to me Angel!”
---------------
I found the storage closet after looking aimlessly around for four minutes. There were a lot of storage closest but none of them had his shampoo. I grabbed his shampoo and turned around to head back to him when I accidentally bumped into someone. “Ah! Sorry.” “Easy there Angel.” Oh you have got to be kidding me. I put a fake smile on my face before saying, “KickenChicken, I wasn’t expecting to run into you.” “I was hoping I’d run into you down here. BB told me that it’s your birthday today. Happy birthday.” I thanked him and started to walk away but he grabbed onto my arm to stop me. “What’s the rush Angel? Don’t you want to spend your birthday with the coolest Smiling Critter?” I yanked my arm away from him while saying, “Don’t call me that and yes I do which is why I’m trying to head back to him right now.” The look on KickenChickens face was priceless. I dashed away before he could say anything else to me.
---------------
“Angel!” I shut the door behind me and walked over to DogDay. “Did you miss me?” I said playfully. “100%. Did you miss me?” he asked as his tail began to wag. “I did. Sorry to take so long; there were a lot of storage closets and none of them seemed to have your shampoo and then I ran into KickenChicken-” “KC? What did he want?” His tone shifted slightly. “He just wished me a happy birthday and then grabbed onto me and asked if I-” “He grabbed you?” I was starting to sense some tension. DogDay walked over to me and asked me where he grabbed me. I pointed to my wrist, and he took my hand into his paw and kissed where KickenChicken grabbed me. “Mwah, now you have my kiss there Angel.”
I was starting to feel hot again. “Is it hot in here? Are you hot? I mean you are hot I-I mean-” DogDays eyes grew wide along with his smile. “You think I’m hot Angel?” If I could die now that would be great. “Um-well-” I looked down at the ground to avoid eye contact and on my shoe was a spider. “AH! SPIDER!! GET IT OFF GET IT OFF!!” I started shaking my leg but then ended up jumping onto DogDay. “Woah hey easy Angel, I got you.” I was shaking in his arms. “Is it gone?” I asked while I buried my head in his chest. DogDay then started to laugh. “Angel it wasn’t a spider, it was just some lint.” I sighed in relief and calmed down. “Oh thank goodness.” I pulled back to look at DogDay and then I saw that I was also covered in paint. “Oops.” “Oops indeed Angel, looks like I’ll need to clean you off.” I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t enjoying my birthday so far.
---------------
It took me two hours to get DogDay all cleaned up while it only took him three minutes to get the paint off me. We headed back into Playcare to start the day. Since we had the play to put on all learning activities would be put on hold. Those who got casted had to be inside the theater room while those who weren’t were inside the school making the props and other stuff.
The first day of practice was a table reading of the script. Everyone sat down at their assigned seats except for KickenChicken. He was supposed to sit over by Hoppy but instead sat down in DogDays spot. “Pardon me KC, but you’re in my spot.” “Am I? I didn’t even realize.” I saw a twitch from DogDays eyes. “Oh and would you look at that, I get to sit next to the beauty herself! How nice.” KickenChicken rested his elbow on the table while looking at me. DogDay started to growl but I stood up and took his paw. “Hey Hoppy, you don’t mind coming over here and having our spots do you?” I gave her a pleading look. “Not at all birthday girl.” She grabbed onto hers and KickenChickens name plates and hopped over to us. “Don’t let this bird brain ruin your day.” She whispered and smiled at me. I thanked her and grabbed mine and DogDays names and walked over to the other side of the table.
We both sat down and I looked over to Damian and waved hello to him. He waved back before grabbing a tissue and blowing his nose into it. Poor kid looked sick. I was going to head over to him to see how he was feeling but then I heard Miss Delights voice. “Alright everyone! Time to get started!” I’d have to check on him after we finished.
---------------
Table reading went alright....to say the least. KickenChicken kept trying to change up some stuff that way me and him could interact more than me and DogDay. Once we finished I went over to Damian to check up on him. “Hey kiddo, you doing alright.” He blew his nose before saying, “Hi Miss Y/N. I think I might have a cold or something. Oh here.” He reached into his pocket and pulled out a folded piece of paper. “A gift for your birthday.” I took it and opened the piece of paper. It was another drawing of me and Damian. My heart instantly melted when I read what was above the drawing. ‘Mom + Me.’ I pulled Damian into a hug and felt some tears fall down my face. “Thank you, Damian. I’ll cherish this forever.” Damian sneezed while saying, “You’re welcome.” I took his hand into mine and started walking towards DogDay.
I noticed that Bobby was now in the theater room talking to DogDay. Oh joy. “Hi Mr. DogDay, hi miss Bear.” Damian caught their attention. “Hi Damian.” “Hey there Damian; and a good afternoon to you pretty lady.” DogDay pretended to tip a hat towards me. I laughed at his playfulness and did a little curtsey. “I don’t mean to interrupt but I just wanted to tell you that I’ll be taking Damian over to the infirmary.” “Oh? Is someone not feeling well? You better move along now and dont worry Y/N-” Bobby then linked her arm around DogDays arm before continuing, “I’ll take good care of him while your away.” I just watched as DogDay had an unpleasant look on his face before trying to pry Bobby off of him. “You need me to come with you Angel?” Right as I was going to answer Bobby cut me off. “No! I-I mean I need to get your measurements for your costume DogDay.” “I guess I’ll meet you later then Angel.” Even though Bobby had her arm around his I still walked up to him and gave him a hug. He returned my hug and squeezed me tight. “I’ll see you later Dogday.” “Bye Angel. Feel better Damian.” I pulled away and headed for the exit. “Bye Y/N!” I heard Bobby call out from behind me. She sounded so happy that I was tempted to show her my favorite finger, but I didn’t and continued to walk hand in hand with Damian.
---------------
The doctor said he just has a little fever and should feel better by tomorrow. I sighed in relief and thanked Damian again before letting him get some rest. Once I exited Home Sweet Home, I saw DogDay standing at the bottom of the steps. “Hey Angel! How’s Damian doing?” “He just has a little fever. Doctor said he’ll be fine tomorrow.” I took out the drawing Damian did and showed it to DogDay. “Look what he drew for me. Isn’t that sweet?” DogDay smiled and wagged his tail.
“That is very sweet Angel! He sees you as a mom. Hey, why not adopt him?" I think I got whiplash from how fast I looked up at DogDay. “Huh?! Adopt him??” “Why not Angel? You two seem so found of each other.” I laughed nervously before talking back. “Well yes, but- I mean- I don’t know...” I only just turned 21 today and I’m sure there would be a lot of paperwork to fill out and other legal stuff. “He’s a great kid, really but-” I couldn’t get anything else to come out of my mouth. “It’s alright Angel you don’t need to say anything else.” He patted me on the back. “Since we don’t have anything else planned for today why not head home early Angel?” “Really?” I didn’t want to leave yet. “Mhm, in fact you should head home right now. I already got your things.” He picked me up and started caring me to the cable car. “Wait- what about the surprise?!” “Oh don’t worry Angel, you’ll still see it.”
We made it to the cable car and he set me down. I turned to look at him with a sad look on my face. “Believe me Angel, I would love to spend more time with you, but I don’t want you to miss your surprise.” He handed me my stuff and kissed the top of my head. “See you tomorrow, Angel.” “Bye....” I was stunned. I walked into the cable car and sat down as the doors had closed. As I was travaling up I stood up and went to the window and waved goodbye to DogDay. We both waved goodbye until we couldn’t see each other anymore.
---------------
I made it back home and plopped down on my bed. I closed my eyes and sighed before opening my eyes and saying, “Wait...I didn’t see his surprise?!” I sighed in disappointment. Oh well, I could always see it tomorrow. I turned on my phone and saw that it was almost 8 o’ clock. I reached over for my TV remote and turned on the TV. I’m a kid at heart so when Damian told me that a certain channel shows all of the Smiling Critters cartoons, I knew I had to record them. Since I’m home around the time that they showed, I didn’t need to record this one.
The intro started to play out and I smiled and sang along with it. Once the intro finished a little message appeared on screen. I got closer and looked at what it said. “To my Angel." I read out loud. I was confused for a second before it faded away and the cartoon version of DogDay appeared on screen. “Hey Angel, I hope you’re at home watching this now. You’re probably thinking that you missed your surprise but in fact you’re watching it right now!” My jaw was opened as DogDay continued to talk. He...he had an episode made for me.......
I watched the episode play out and the whole time I couldn’t stop smiling. “And now it’s time to sing you happy birthday!” Out of nowhere a birthday cake showed up on screen. It had one candle in the center and was already lit. “Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you. Happy birthday my sweet Angel, happy birthday to you~” I felt a tear forming in my eye. “Blow out your candle Angel.” DogDay then held the cake closer to the screen. I laughed and acted like I blew out the candle. In the cartoon the flame disappeared. “I hope your wish comes true Angel.” The screen then faded black, signaling that the episode was over. I grabbed my remote and rewind the episode so that I could tape it. Best birthday ever.
A/N: DogDay just purposely got paint on him so that he and you could be together longer >:)

Remember when I told you all about the "Damian & Tim bonding fic, where Damian gets turned into a cat?"?
Well, I do.
I have two wips! One for a fic and the other is a small art sketch
"It's OK! You are OK! With me, you are safe!"
Tim hummed, as he gently rubbed the little fluff ball dry, making sure to clean its eyes and ears out in the process.
He had found it in a trashcan on patrol, all alone, shivering and seemingly abandoned.
The teen couldn't get himself to leave it there.
After all, he wasn't that cruel, and Damian would probably break his back again if he found out that he let an innocent animal die.
It meowed weakly, as he used two of his fingers to gently massage its stomach. He couldn't feel any swellings and injuries, so it should be fine. Hopefully.
"Hey, it's alright! We'll get some food into you and then you'll feel better."
The kitten looked too young to stomach solid food, so milk was it.
He knew that cowmilk was bad for cats, but almond milk should be fine, at least till he could get some special cat milk and wet food to ween the little one out.
After making sure that it was warm and comfortable on his couch, he made his way to his kitchen.
The search for some almond milk and a saucer to fill it in took him some minutes and when he returned to his living room, the cat was gone.
Gone was probably a harsh word, considering that he could hear some really pissed off growls from beneath his bookshelf.
It was quite impressive, considering that the animal making those sounds was barley bigger than his hand.
"Poor little baby, this situation must be quite scary for you."
He pushed the makeshift bowl next to the furniture, avoiding the sweep of tiny claws, before he all but collapsed on his couch.
Then he quietly cursed himself.
In the trouble of making sure that the kitty was alright, he had utterly forgotten about his own needs.
"I am such an idiot."
The vigilante forced himself back on his feet, as he glared at the couch.
Who knows what kind of toxins and germs he had gotten onto it now.
"You know, this totally ruins my whole week. I usually deepclean my furniture every Monday. But with all the blood and shit on my suit this can't wait."
He smiled gently towards the kittens direction, who had stopped growing when he started speaking.
"I will take a short shower, before cleaning the couch and taking my meds. Please try to drink a bit of the milk, alright?"
The teen was aware that the cat couldn't understand or answer him, but he wanted it to get comfortable with his voice
Soaking his suit in disinfectant, showering, checking his body for small injuries, going through his skincare routine, throwing his suit into the washing machine, getting a clean suit ready for the next patrol and starting up his textile-deep-cleaning routine took him nearly an hour.
It left him utterly exhausted and wanting to sleep.
But he still had to finish the cleaning, drink that disgusting, nutrien rich smoothie, take his meds and work on that case Duke asked him about.
His eyes wandered to the kittens hiding place and a smile appeared on his lips as he looked at the empty saucer.
"Good work! Eat a lot and grow stronger. "
The tiny head of the kitten popped out and Tim had to stifle his laughter at the animals unimpressed expression.
"Oh, Damian will absolutely adore you."
It meowed as Tim concentrated back on cleaning the couch.
"He is my little brother and he adores animals. I am planning to give you to him when the weekend comes around."
This was the safest course of actions for him and the one thing will guarantee a happy life for it.
The kittens eyes were watching him clean the couch, as he explained every step to it.
" Now we are just going to let the disinfectant soak in and let it dry. I'll take my medicine and then we'll try to get some more food into you! "
It actually came out of its hiding place when he brought out his yellow pill bottle.
Somehow, it looked as if he had offended it, as it meowed loudly at him to get his attention.
"This is just the medicine that I spoke about. I am sick, you know. A year ago, I lost my spleen due to an injury. I had a flare up a few days ago, since Steph decided to drop in unannounced. Its fine now though."
Steph had been hurt and he was the closest, so he was glad that she came to him instead of bleeding out somewhere.
But the fever he got afterwards was not so nice.
The kitty meowed, as it clawed at his leg, what was suprisingly painful.
"Whats the matter?! This hurts, you know?"
Tim picked the small animal up, as it growled angrily at him.
"You know. You kinda remind me of my little brother right now."
It had the same green eyes as him.
"You are even behaving like him right now!"
He smiled as it spitted in his direction, Biting and clawing at his hand.
Getting the hint, he gently placed it back onto the ground, where it quickly went back to his hiding place.
Tim couldn't help himself as he sighted, as he saw the blood running down his hand.
He needed to disinfect and bandage ut up as quickly as possible now.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------
"Jason, calm down-, i cant understand what you are saying if you scream like this!"
Damian glared at the teen from bellow his hiding spot, as he placed back and forth in his living room, his elder brothers voice screaming through the speaker of the phone.
It was pathetic.
No Vigilante, especially one that studied under his father, should allow someone to yell at them.

It was the weekend, so that means you and Miles will go on a date night. You had got ready and waited for him on the fire escape. Miles was busy at the moment, he was fighting some crooks and he'll be over to get you. You were scrolling through your phone, until you heard someone get on the fire exit. It was the one and only spider man, aka your boyfriend.
"Hey y/n/n" he said while holding at bag of what you assumed was food. "Hey Miles, how was your day?" you asked, as you climbed onto his back. Once you were on his back, holding onto him tight. You both took off by the use of his web. "It was alright, had to fight some guys, nothing special." He said, as he swung through the city using his spiderwebs while you were on his back. "Are you going to need me to patch you up?" you asked. "Nah, I'm good." He said.
It was a long way to get to a private roof top, you didn't mind since you really enjoyed the wind hitting your face as your boyfriend swaged with you on his back and he knew it. Finally you had arrived at a roof top. You both sat near the edge of the building and ate the food Miles brought. Also talked about both your day.
You both spend hours talking and eating the food, sometimes you wished that you could do this every day, but it wasn't possible. Miles went to a different school and he couldn't just sneak out all the time. He tried, but was grounded by his parents for sneaking out. So you had made it official that you both would go hang out on the weekends, if you both could. "It's getting late, we should head back, you know how my parents get" You reminded Miles, as you got up from the floor, followed by him. "Yeah, let's go" he said, after you both threw away your trash in a small trashcan on the roof. Then you both took off back home once you were holding tightly onto his back. The whole way back, you had an idea.
You had finally arrived back home, Miles had set you on the fire escape as he hanged upside down on the railing. "You're home, safe and sound M'lady" he said jokingly, making you giggle. "Yeah yeah." You said, then you stopped and looked at the part of Miles masks where his lips are suppose to be. "Can I try something?" you asked, making Miles getting curious on what you had planed. "Sure!" he said, then you got close to him.
Bringing his mask off from his chin and moved it down to exposed his lips. This made Miles eyes widen under the mask, but he just went with it. You held both sides of his face, then you leaned in, closing your eyes. Then both your lips touched one another's softly. The kiss was a long one, it was both passionate and loving, not only that but this was your first kiss with Miles, which made it extra special.

Gator Tillman x Fem! Reader
Valentine's Day Blurb from the Badge Bunny AU
Valentine's Day is one of your favorite holidays! You're a little bratty when you think things aren't going your way. Gator takes matters into his own hands.
Special thanks to @starksbabie for all your help! 😘
18+ Only! Minors DNI!
Warnings: Reader is referred to as "Bunny" or "Bun". Fluffy and sweet moments. Porn with plot. A little bit of Dom!Gator/Sub!Reader. Spanking. A hint of orgasm denial. P in V (wrap it before you tap it). Creampie.
Word Count: 3K
Valentine's Day was a few days away. One of the few holidays you secretly enjoyed.
That bitchy facade you carried around melted away this time of year. You'd had boyfriends in the past that went all out. Roses, fancy restaurants, some nice jewelry.
In no way were you expecting that this year. Gator was not a mushy, lovesick puppy that followed you around. He was very rough around the edges, but he could surprise you with how gentle he could be.
You weren't even sure if he remembered what day it was, having to remind him when Halloween was this past fall. Maybe it was the way he was brought up. Roy only recognizing Christian holidays in his household when Gator was a child.
Henry was letting you decorate the bar to your liking. Paper hearts on walls. Red and pink garland strung about.
He just shook his head putting some more glasses away as you hummed to yourself hanging another paper mâché heart from the ceiling.
It was a slow lunch giving you plenty of time to decorate.
“What do ya’ think, Henry?” You called over to him.
“I think it looks like some lovesick fool threw up in here, but it could be worse.” He chuckled, heading to the back once more.
It was then your lovesick fool walked in the door, the little bell above his head announcing his arrival as you caught his eye. Grin plastered across his handsome face at seeing you.
“Hey baby!” You shouted, climbing down from the ladder to meet him, throwing your arms around his neck for a hug and a quick peck.
“Hey sweet thing.” He had his arm slung around your waist, keeping you close to him. “Look at this place. All your doing, huh? Bunny has a heart after all.”
He laughed as you batted his chest, moving out of his grasp.
“Oh stop, you'll ruin my reputation saying shit like that.” You moved to go get him his usual Mt Dew as he sat in a booth.
“No Andy today?” Sitting the soda in front of him as he grabbed a straw from the front of your apron.
“Nah, he's off. Takin' his fiancé away for the weekend.” You nodded, thinking it must be nice.
You'd secretly held out a little hope he might surprise you with something.
The 14th rolled around. It was a beautiful Sunday morning. Picturesque. No snow today and the sun was shining.
You'd slept in. Gator saying that he had something to do a little later but kept tight lipped about it, as usual.
You eased out of bed, letting him sleep in a little longer. You'd been waiting to surprise him all week.
You made heart shaped pancakes, burning the first few and throwing the evidence promptly into the bottom of the trashcan. Hoping like hell you didn't set the smoke alarm off ruining the morning.
Adding chocolate chips to his and fresh strawberries to yours, they were finally done.
You'd just finished setting the plates down when you heard your bedroom door finally swing open. He grumbled, making his way down the hall.
Sleep mussed hair sticking up and across his forehead, eyes barely open, blinking when he noticed the table was set.
“What's all this then?” He asked, with a groggy voice.
You smiled, “It's for you. Happy Valentine's Day!”
“You did all this for me?” He grinned, looking over the table and looking back at you. Your hands splayed on your hips, thoroughly proud of yourself.
He rounded the table, pulling you in by your hips kissing you softly.
“I'm so glad you didn't burn the house down.” Chuckling as he pulled away.
“Shut up.” You giggled along, pushing him toward the table. “Sit down, before it gets too cold.”
He immediately grabs the syrup, eyes twinkling like a kid on Christmas morning, smothering his cakes with the sticky sweetness.
It made you wonder how many times growing up he actually got to indulge himself as he took the first bite, humming around his fork.
“Bunny, these are fuckin' amazing.” Humming, around another mouthful.
You smiled, as you dug into your own plate.
He wolfed down a second helping before cursing to himself after checking the time.
“Fuck. I've got to get a shower.” He huffed, putting his cleared plate in the sink, kissing your cheek before heading down the hall.
That blissful little bubble you created burst. Duty calls… again.
“I love ya’ Bun. See you this afternoon.” Kissing your cheek once again and he was out the door, while your hands were deep in the sink washing the dishes from this morning.
You typically had Sundays off to laze about. This one was no different. Tidying the house up a bit before watching a little reality TV to pass the time.
You definitely weren't trying to distract your thoughts of Gator leaving without so much as a cheesy card or even a box of chocolates for you. You'd seen half expected one of those gas station roses that were actually thongs rolled up to look like a rose. At least that would mean he actually thought about it.
It's a stupid, made-up holiday, right? At least that's what you kept telling yourself.
You'd grown a little more frustrated as the day went on.
You finally got a text from him a couple hours after he left.
Should be back in about an hour. We have the afternoon to do whatever you want.
You just responded with a quick “sure,” leaning back onto the couch cushions making yourself more comfortable.
The rumble of the truck engine pulling in woke you. You’d drifted off after texting him back, finding the couch much too comfortable and the TV a relaxing background noise.
He shot through the front door, immediately clocking your messy hair and half lidded eyes.
“Take a nap, sweet thing?” Coming over, rubbing his knuckles across your cheek.
“So, what if I did?” You grumbled.
“You're always grumpy when ya’ wake up.” Planting a kiss to your forehead. “Did you wanna go out later?”
“No.” You shook your head, running the back of your hand across your eyes.
“No? Thought today was your favorite?” He grinned.
“Yeah, but you don't seem to care about it so neither should I.” Throwing the blanket off you, as you stood.
He rolled his eyes, letting a hard breath out through his nose, knowing exactly where this was heading when you'd sent that text.
“So that's it, huh?” Following you down the hall. “Thought I just forgot about it? Bunny, you should know me better than that by now.”
You huffed a laugh. “Do I? Not so much as morning fuck? I mean I thought I would at least get that. You jump at any chance to get your dick wet any other day. No stupid holiday needed.”
“God, you are such a fuckin' brat when you don't get your way.” He grabbed your arm, making you turn to face him. “I had some shit to do. I couldn't just bend you over the table and fuck you over the pancakes, could I?”
You crossed your arms over your chest, refusing to look at him even as he wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you into him.
“Bunny, quit with the fuckin' attitude or I'll make you quit.” His voice was a little more gravely, going straight to your core knowing exactly what that meant.
A game you usually liked to play. Pushing his buttons until he caved, being a little rougher than usual. Spanking your ass until you were welted, then railing you into oblivion.
“No Gator, I'm not in the fucking mood for your shit right now.” You tried to wrench out of his grasp, but he held you tight.
He leveled his gaze, “Oh, but I bet you are. Bet she's already drooling f’me. Need me to bend ya’ over my knee? Give you somethin’ to whine about?”
His hand traveled from your lower back to your ass, grabbing a handful before pulling off coming back down with a harsh smack.
“Ahhh, Gator!” You arched forward, hands planting firmly on his chest. You looked up when he hissed at the contact.
“What was that?” Running your hands across his clothed chest. He grabbed your hand, keeping it in place.
“Maybe if you weren't bein’ such a whiney ass, I would show ya’. I uh… I got a little surprise.” He grinned, crooked smile that you adore plastered across his face.
“Show me then.” You whispered. “I'll be good. Promise.” Looking up through your lashes, doe eyes he couldn't resist.
“Fine.” Stepping back, removing his jacket.
His fingers reached the hem of his shirt, pulling it up, your eyes trailing his toned stomach up to his chest. His left peck was partially covered at the top.
“You got a new tattoo?” You deadpanned. This is what he had to do today?
“Yeah. For you babe.” He lifted the tape at the edges to slowly reveal his new ink. Bunny was written there with a Playboy bunny graphic.
“Really Gator?” Voice showing no hint of amusement.
“What? You don't like it?”
“It's not even my name. At least I have your name. And the Playboy bunny? Seriously?” You laughed out, but when you looked back at him, he almost looked hurt.
“It's what I call you. You're my Bunny, that's never going to change.” He huffed out while you were still laughing. “You know what, I'm done with this fuckin’ attitude. Bend over the table.”
“Now.” He added, when you didn't move.
Shit. You knew the tone. You'd pushed too far.
“Gator, I…” You stopped when you looked back into his eyes that were almost black.
“Bend. Over. The. Table. I'm not going to tell you again.” There was a glint in his eye, followed by a devilish smirk.
You quickly nodded, padding over quickly. Planting your hands firmly on the wooden tabletop as you bent at the waist, pushing your ass up into the air barely covered by your sleep shorts.
His boots loud against the linoleum flooring as he came to stand behind you. Close enough you can feel the heat radiating from him but barely grazing you.
He brings his large palm to rest on your cheek, kneading it softly only for a moment. You knew it was coming.
He landed one hard smack, jolting you forward, the edge of the table already digging into your thighs as you let out a soft moan.
He quickly slid his hand back over your ass, soothing the burn slightly. He bent over to get close to you, lips ghosting over the shell of your ear as he spoke.
“You wanted this, huh? A heavy hand and a hard cock fixes you right up, huh sweet thing?” He kisses your temple before continuing.
He slid his fingers underneath the waistband of your shorts pushing them down past your thighs as they pool in the floor around your feet.
You knew the drill, as you leaned over dropping to your elbows to brace yourself anticipating another heavy blow that didn't come. Instead, you rocked forward when he ran a finger up through your folds.
You let another wanton moan slip past your lips as his thick digit circled your entrance.
“Fuck, you're soaked,” pushing in slightly, before moving it quickly away. “You didn't think it'd be that easy, did ya’?”
Another hard smack to the other cheek.
“Fuck Bunny, how many you need? 10 more? 20?” You whimpered at his words.
“I… I don't know, sir.” Your voice came out a little weak, already sounding wrecked.
“Fuck, she's got manners.” He growled. You used that title sparingly, but he fucking loved it. Hearing “sir” roll off your lips in that sultry tone made him weak in the knees.
“We’ll do ten since you're being such a good girl. Count em.”
“Yes sir.” You hummed, as he laid one more smack to each cheek.
“Two.” You huffed. The welts were already forming.
“Three.” You bit your lip briefly, distracting you from the sting.
“Four… mmhmm five.” A tear rolled down your cheek.
“Six. Fuck.” Your nails dig into the surface of the table, trying to grasp anything to ground you.
“Seven. Eight. Nine.” In quick succession, as your legs started to give out, knees buckling as your thighs shook.
One last smack sent you reeling.
“Ten.” You choked out.
“That's it baby. Now, let me take care of you and this pretty cunt.” He said, undoing his pants taking his aching length from its confinements.
Pulling your hips up, he gave you no warning before his cock was nudging your sopping entrance. He pushed in slightly before completely burying himself to the hilt in one swift motion. There was no resistance with how wet you were.
“Fuck, Gator.” You hissed out but arched your ass further into him. The sting of being stretched out so suddenly, almost borderline painful, had a few more tears running down your cheeks as your pussy clenched around him.
“Fuck, always so goddamn tight. Fuckin' pussy was made f’me.” He pushed you down, hand between your shoulder blades, cheek now resting on the cool surface of the table.
He pulled back, only to snap his hips immediately back into yours with such force the table scooted across the floor.
He set a brutal pace, your moans were high pitched and whiny. The angle had your ass further in the air and his cock hitting that sweet spongy spot with each thrust. You knew you wouldn't be able to hold back your orgasm if he kept going.
Your arousal was dripping down your thighs, and coating his balls that were slapping at your puffy clit with each rock of his hips. The sound of skin slapping skin echoing off the walls in the small space.
“Sir, please. I'm going to… Can I please… “ you were begging, as it was building. That pressure slowly creeps up your lower belly, tingling up your spine.
“No, Bunny!” He growled, fingertips digging further into your hips pulling you back in time with his thrusts.
“Gator, I'm… I can't.” You sobbed, trying to pull in a deep breath.
“No, baby just wait. I'm… fuck … almost there.”
Your teeth sank into your lower lip, as your pussy began to clench around him.
“Gator, please, fuck…” you cried out.
“Come on Bunny, come on my cock.”
No sooner than he got the words out, the damn inside you broke. Clamping down around his cock, as he began to fill you full. Your eyes were shut tight, fireworks exploding behind them.
Your walls pulsed around him, milking every last drop, as he let out a string of incoherent words before collapsing against your back.
“Goddamn Bunny,” he panted as his cock kicked up within you one last time making you whimper.
He gently moved off you, removing himself, holding your hips steady as you got your feet under you. You knew you'd feel this one for a few days to come.
He pulled you up, as you wrapped your arms around his neck completely blissed out, eyes half lidded as he smoothed the hair from your face.
“Feel better?” He chuckled lightly.
“Mhmm… much.” You hummed.
“Good, sweet thing. Now go take a fuckin' shower and get dressed. I've got a surprise for my girl.” His grin grew wide with your confused expression.
“You really thought I'd forget Valentine's Day? After everything you did for me? Everything you do for me?”
You smiled, looking down at his new tattoo.
“Thought this was my gift?” you giggled, tracing just under the new ink. It was endearing. He wanted to match what you'd gifted him this past Christmas.
“Part of it, yeah. Now come on.” He pecks your lips, before dragging you down the hall.
You showered, examining the angry, hand shaped welts on your ass in the mirror, knowing it would be a pain to sit on any hard surface for a couple of days, but it was worth it. You just smiled to yourself, wrapping a towel around you.
You were standing in front of the mirror when he came to stand in the doorway, watching your after shower routine.
You could feel his gaze as you met his eyes through the mirror.
“What?” You smiled up at him.
“Just thinking how pretty y’are. But I feel like something's missin’.”
He moved his hand from behind his back revealing a small velvet box.
Oh shit. Oh shit. Oh shit.
“What's that handsome?” You tried to speak evenly though your heart was beating so hard you thought he might hear.
“Close your eyes.” You gave him a pointed look. “C’mon. You'll like it.”
You slid them closed, as he walked behind you. You felt the coolness of a thin chain come to rest on your collar bones. You breathed just a tiny sigh of relief, as he clasped it to, kissing your bare shoulder.
“Perfect.” He said as you opened your eyes, a tiny gold chain that held his initial “G” hung delicately around your neck as you examined it thoughtfully tracing the small letter with your fingertip.
“You don't like it?” He deflated a bit when you didn't say anything.
“It's perfect baby.” You turned around pulling him in for a kiss.
“Promise?” He pulled back, slightly, lips ghosting yours.
“Promise.” You giggled.
“Good, since you won't let me knock ya' up, at least this way everyone’ll know your mine.” You rolled your eyes, hand batting at his chest as he laughed.
“God, you're ridiculous.” Pulling him in by the collar for another kiss. “Ruining a perfectly sweet moment with that damn mouth.”
He let you finish getting ready, then drove you to the little diner you frequented weekly. Sharing a couple of burgers and milkshakes, it was the perfect way to end the day.
“Happy Valentine's Day Bunny.” He grinned, catching the glint of his initial on display for all to see as he held your hand from across the table.

Teenage Dirtbag - Eddie Munson
A/N: well, this keeps on working so far 😂😂😂 here's Eddie's story! and then is full Marauders, James, then Remus, and then Sirius! I hope you guys like it!
Request - lunamadhatter99 asked: I do have a request, my friend! I'm so happy requests are open😍 Anyway: Henderson!Reader x either Steve or Eddie (whoever works better for you), where the reader is very quiet, not necessarily shy, but still. She's targeted by the jocks too because she's the "loser" sister, you know, and maybe one day, one of their pranks went too far and she's very upset about it (maybe is the process a special possession of hers). Every time she gets bullied, Steve/Eddie helps her comfort her, especially because she doesn't want to tell his little brother, who thinks she is friends with them... does it make sense? I don't know, I'm sorry 😂👋
Warnings: mentions of sex; Billy being an asshole (also, this is kinda between s3 and 4 and Billy didn't die so Jason and Andy are his dumb friends I hope this makes sense) reader is kind of mean to Dustin (not really, she's just grumpy and a loner instead of shy, kind of like Kat in 10TIHAY)
Disclaimer: I don’t own Stranger Things :) gif isn’t mine :D

Teenage Dirtbag
'Cause I'm just a teenage dirtbag, baby Yeah, I'm just a teenage dirtbag, baby Listen to Iron Maiden, baby, with me, ooh
“DUSTIN! Hurry up! Steve is gonna be here any second! We’re gonna be late!” you smashed your hand against the bathroom door, yelling for your brother to get ready. You had been feeling anxious all day. Something inside you told you that today might not be a good day and, as much as you tried not to, you took it out on Dustin.
“I’m coming! Geez, calm down!”
You rolled your eyes and walked over to the kitchen to finish your coffee and wash the dishes but you tripped over a bag full of garbage.
“Ugh! Dustin!” you yelled as he walked over to you.
“What? What did I do now?”
“The trash is your chore” you complained, grabbing the bag and handing it to him. “When I say take out the trash, I mean outside of the house. To the trashcan!”
“Maybe you can show me for next time” he laughed.
“Maybe I can give your Nintendo to goodwill” you smirked back, erasing the smirk off his face.
“Fine, sorry” he said, grabbing the bag and going outside.
“Let’s go!” you said as soon as you heard Steve’s car parking on your driveway.
“Wait, where’s lunch?”
“Oh, shit!” you said, grabbing some of the money you left near the door in case Dustin needed to order food. “Here” you said, grabbing $10 for yourself and giving Dustin $5.
“Why do you get $10 and I get $5?” Dustin complained.
“Take out the freaking trash!” you replied, mocking his exact same tone.
“Good morning, Hendersons!” Steve smiled as you got in the front and Dustin got in the back.
“Thanks for the ride, Steve” you said. “Robin still out of town?” you asked, confused to not see her there already.
“Yeah, she’s coming back next week-”
“Why are we even going this early? School doesn’t start for another hour!” Dustin asked on the ride to school. “And why do you always ride shotgun?”
“Because I’m Steve’s favorite Henderson” you smirked. “And Steve has an early shift, so I wasn’t going to make him wait for us” you explained. “Plus, I have to get together with Nancy for something about the school paper” you informed him.
“Well, I could have taken my bike-”
“Just say thank you, Dustin!”
“Thank you” he said, rolling his eyes a little.
“Hey, aren’t those your old friends?” Dustin asked as Steve drove into the parking lot. You looked to where he was pointing to see the basketball players hanging outside the school with some of the cheerleaders.
“No” both you and Steve replied at the same time.
“Are you sure?” Dustin asked, confused. He recognized some of them, although he had noticed you never talked to them anymore.
“I’m sure” you said, rolling your eyes. “Just… stay away from them, okay?”
“Okay” he said, unconvinced. “Um, are we having movie night?” he asked Steve.
“Yeah, my house” he nodded.
“Cool. I think we’re going to Mike’s after school, so I’ll see you there” he told them.
“Okay” you nodded. Dustin started opening his door but you stopped him. “Dusty” you said, making him look confused at you. You rarely called him that anymore. “Nothing… I’ll see you at Steve’s” you told him and he nodded before he got out.
You saw him make his way over to Mike, Will, Lucas, Max, and El and you heard him complain about you and all of them saying how you used to be fun and happy all the time. You let out a sigh of frustration, throwing your head back on the chair.
“You know, you could just… tell him” Steve shrugged.
“I’m good” you told him.
“Dustin’s just worried about you” he insisted. “And to be honest, so am I-”
“Harrington, I know my brother’s your best friend now-”
“That’s not true” he glared at you.
“But you were my friend first and you promised we wouldn’t discuss this with Dustin” you told him.
“I’m just… a little confused, okay? Why did you all of the sudden stop hanging out with them like, what, a year ago?”
“You did too!” you argued.
“Well, yeah, because they’re assholes-”
“Exactly” you told him.
“But, now you’re here alone, because I graduated, I just don’t want you to be alone-”
“I’m fine on my own” you shrugged. “Plus… Eddie’s my friend-”
“Oh, right… Munson. That’s another thing. I know something happened last Halloween, okay? You mysteriously stop hanging out with all of our friends, you started wearing darker clothes, darker makeup and you start hanging around with Eddie, the freak, Munson-”
“I told you to stop calling him that” you glared at him.
“Which you also hide from Dustin-”
“Well, I just don’t want him to think that the only reason he and his friends are in Hellfire is because I asked Eddie to look after them-”
“But you did-”
“Steve, it is too early in the morning to have this discussion” you said, rubbing your temple.
“Fine… I’ll drop it” he said. “For now” he added, making you glare at him a little. “You working today?”
“No, it’s my day off” you informed him.
“Cool, want me to pick you up after work?”
“You sure it’s not too much trouble?”
“Nah, you’re my favorite Henderson after all” he smirked.
“I knew it!” you said, kissing his cheek before you opened the door. “See you later, Stevie” you said.
“Have a good day, kid” he waved at you.
He noticed you walking close to the group of jocks and they yelled something at you but you simply flipped them off and kept walking. Steve felt a bit uneasy about it but decided he would ask you about it when he picked you up. Sooner or later, you had to talk to him.
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
“Hey, princess” you felt a small smile, trying to contain the butterflies you felt in your stomach when you heard that voice. You turned around to see Eddie smiling at you.
“Munson, I thought you were standing me up today” you said as he sat at your usual table in the woods, past the bleachers.
“Wouldn’t dream of it, love” he said, sitting in front of you. “What do you got for me today?”
“I forgot to make lunch, so I had to grab something from the vending machine” you said, putting your cigarette out. “So, pretzels, or Reeses Pieces?”
“You just… happened to pick my two favorite things?” he smirked. “If I didn’t know any better, Henderson, I would think you like me” he mocked you.
“Uh-huh, is that a peanut butter and jelly sandwich? And two cokes?” your sked, looking at his bag.
“Grape jelly. Your favorite” he winked at you.
“Huh, if I didn’t know any better, Munson, I would think you like me” you returned the smirk.
“Wanna split it?” he asked and you nodded as you split the three things between the two of you. “So, what are you working on?” he asked, about to grab your sketchbook.
“Nothing!” you quickly said, putting it away before he could get it.
“Oh, that doesn’t sound suspicious at all” he mocked you. “Come on, show me!”
“It’s just… a work in progress” you told him. “It’s not finished yet” you insisted.
“Fine, be all mysterious” he chuckled. “Hey, did you get new colored pencils?” he asked, grabbing one of them.
“Oh, um… y-yeah” you said nervously. “There was a discount at the store where I work and-”
“Really?” he raised his eyebrow at you. “Or were your old ones… broken?”
“Um… there may have been an… incident-”
“Who?” he asked, his tone turning angry.
“It doesn’t matter, Eddie-”
“Yes, it does! Why didn’t you tell me?”
“Because I don’t want you to get into a fight and not graduate with me this year” you told him, making him laugh just barely. “Look, it’s fine. I really did get a discount and…” you said, looking through your bag. “I got markers too” you smiled brightly at him. “Look!”
You stood from your place and sat down on the table with your feet on the bench next to Eddie. You grabbed his hand and placed it on your knee, which was not an uncommon thing for you to do whenever you drew something on him but he felt his cheeks blushing. You quickly drew a small doodle of the Hellfire symbol using different colors and you smiled when you were done, showing it to him. Eddie rarely get to see that smile on you and he loved it when it happened.
“Holy shit!” he smiled, looking down at his hand. It looked cooler than the one in his shirt.
“Do you like it?” you asked, bashfully.
“I love it, princess! This is amazing!” he said, looking back at you. “You’re amazing” he smiled.
“Um, thanks” you said, looking down at his hand and feeling your cheeks burn. You could not ignore the butterflies in your stomach any longer. You grabbed his hand and stroked your thumb against your new drawing. “Uh, a-actually, what I didn’t want to show you is um… kind of… a surprise…” you admitted, not facing him.
You saw Eddie’s hand untangle from yours and make its way up to your chin, lifting your head gently and making you look into his beautiful, chocolate-brown eyes.
“A surprise?” he asked, smiling brightly. You simply nodded, unable to form any words by the way he was looking at you. “What is it?”
“If I told you, it wouldn’t be a surprise!” you chuckled. “I just want to finish it before I show it to you” you told him.
“Okay, fine” he said, as his hand suddenly found its way back to yours and you started playing with his rings. “But… you promise you’ll show it to me when it’s done?”
“I promise. I mean, it’s kind of… for you” you told him.
“Really?” he asked, and you nodded.
“Yeah, it’s kind of… a thank you” you admitted. “For everything” you added. “Even for my brother and his friends. Thanks for letting them in Hellfire” you told him. “I know they're a bit weird but… I love them and I'm happy they found someone like you” you said.
“My pleasure, princess” he told you. “They’re cool kids” he chuckled. “Especially Dustin” he added. “Although he keeps asking me why I always have different doodles all over me” he chuckled.
“Yeah, he’s pretty smart” you laughed too. “I don’t think it’ll be long before he realizes about us” you said, without really thinking. “I m-mean uh-”
“Us?” Eddie smirked. “And exactly what would he realize?” he asked, getting up and towering a little over you, placing his hands on both your sides. “That we’re friends?” he asked, with the same smirk still plastered on his face.
“Y-yeah, I guess” you said innocently.
“Would he mind?”
“Um- I don’t think so, I just… don’t want him to think that you’re only his friend b-because of me” you explained.
“Oh, he wouldn’t think that” he assured you, as he gently brushed your hair away from your face. “And… what if he thinks there’s something else between us?”
“Is there?” you asked, as you felt him getting closer. And then the bell rang. The stupid bell rang. “Fuck!”
“Ignore that” he pleaded.
“No! We have a Math test” you said, pushing him away and gathering all of your things. “I told you, Eddie, you’re graduating this year, with me. Let’s go!” you threatened him.
“You’re killing me, sweetheart” he said, as you pulled him with you but he was stronger and he pulled you back. “To be continued?” he smirked.
For the first time in what felt like a lifetime, you smiled. It was a different smile, one that you didn’t think you had in you anymore and you could see Eddie noticed it. You leaned in and kissed his cheek.
“To be continued, Munson” you said, before you started pulling him towards the school despite his protests.
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
You were waiting in the parking lot for Steve. As much as you wanted, you were not able to be with Eddie alone the rest of the day. You were hoping to catch him at the end but, as a surprise to no one, he got detention, so here you were.
“Well, if it isn’t my lucky day?”
You cursed under your breath, silently begging for Steve’s car to appear any moment now. But no such luck.
“Hargrove” you sighed. “Oh, if it isn’t Tweedle-dee and Tweedle-dum” you smirked at Jason and Andy, standing with Billy.
“Fancy meeting you here, babe” Billy smirked at you.
“Can’t say the same” you said, trying to walk away but he stepped in front of you. “What do you want, Hargrove?”
“See, I have a question for you” he said. “Andy here, says he saw you coming out of those woods with Eddie fucking Munson” he said, getting closer to you and making you take a step back. “Is that true?”
“I fail to see how that’s any of your business, really” you glared at him.
“Well, for starters, I think Munson can do better” he said, making Andy and Jason laugh.
“Lovely” you rolled your eyes, trying to walk away again but they blocked your way.
“Aw, did I strike a nerve there? Do you have a crush on Munson?” he mocked you.
“Just, leave me alone, Billy-” you said, trying to leave but, you felt your sketchbook being taken from you.
“Oh, what is this?” Jason asked, opening the sketchbook. “Do you write your love letters to that freak here?” he laughed.
“Give that back!” you said, trying to get it back from him.
“Oh, it’s even better than that!” he said, showing your sketches to Billy and Andy who started laughing.
“Give me that!” you said as he tossed it to Billy.
“Looks like you’re a bit obsessed with him, babe” he said, looking at your drawings. “I’m guessing you wouldn’t want anything to happen to this, would you?” he said, tearing a few pages apart.
“Billy, give it back!” you yelled, but he pushed you back, making you fall to the ground, your hands aching when they hit the pavement.
“Whoops, clumsy me” he said, tossing your sketchbook on a nearby water puddle.
“Stop it!” you said, getting up and trying to get to it but Andy pushed you away.
“HEY! WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING!?”
“You want something, freak?” Jason yelled, smirking.
“Oh, speak of the devil” Billy smirked as Eddie approached all of you.
“Get the fuck away from her” he said, making his way over to Billy.
“Why don’t you keep walking and mind your business, freak?”
“You know, I gotta say, even for you, it’s pretty low, three guys against one girl” he smirked, erasing Billy’s.
“You really think it’s worth it? Standing up for that slut-?”
Before Billy could go on, Eddie quickly punched him in the face.
“Eddie!”
“You’re dead, freak!” Jason said, punching Eddie back while Billy got up, laughing.
“Looks, like you got some fire in you, Munson!” he yelled before he punched him too.
“Eddie!” you yelled, trying to get to him but Andy stopped you. “Stop it!”
“You having fun, Munson?” Billy smirked as he landed punches on Eddie before he grabbed him by his jacket. “No one tells me what to do!” he said before he pushed him to the ground again. He then threw himself at Eddie and started landing punch after punch, like a madman. The last time you had seen Billy like this was when he fought Steve and it shook you to your core.
“STOP IT! BILLY, STOP!”
“You really think you traded up, babe?” he smirked, looking at you. “He’s even worse than Harrington!”
“STOP IT, PLEASE!” you said, as tears started welling up in your eyes.
“Aw, you gonna cry, princess?” he said, mocking Eddie’s voice with the last word.
As if your prayers were finally answered, a car reeled in front of you, almost hitting Jason.
“What the fuck, Harrington?” he asked as Steve got out of the car.
“What the fuck is going on here?”
“Come join the party, Harrington” Billy smirked at him, finally letting go of Eddie. “Ready for round two?”
“Yeah, let me just get my friend here” Steve smirked, grabbing his bat out.
“Dude, what the fuck?” Andy said, letting go of you, and slowly walking away with Jason. You quickly ran over to Eddie, pushing Billy aside.
“Ready to go, Hargrove?” Steve said, walking closer to him as he and the other two stepped away.
“You know what? She’s not even fucking worth it” Billy said, throwing one last glare at you. “Let’s just go” he told Jason and Andy as they walked away.
“Eddie! Oh my God, Eddie! Can you hear me?”
“Do I have a concussion or did King Steve Harrington just save my ass?”
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
“Ouch!”
“Sorry, I’m sorry” you apologized, taking the cotton ball away.
You were now in Steve’s kitchen, cleaning Eddie up. You carefully pulled his hair up in a messy bun with your scrunchie so you could see him better. You placed your hand softly on his cheek and your heart broke seeing a big purple bruise printed on his left eye. He looked at you with his huge, deep brown puppy eyes and you had to take a deep breath to not lose it right there because you knew he needed you.
“You okay?” Eddie asked, worriedly.
“M-me? You’re asking if I’m okay? Eddie, Billy and Jason just beat the shit out of you, and you’re asking if I’m okay?”
“First of all, I’d like to think that I handled that with dignity. Secondly, you fell to the ground and that idiot Andy was hurting you” he said, grabbing your hand and tracing his thumb gently on the bruises forming in your arms where Andy grabbed you.
“I’m really sorry, Eddie” you said, coming out in a whisper and tracing your thumb against the now fading drawing you made earlier on his hand. A small tear fell down your cheek and Eddie quickly wiped it away before he cupped your cheek.
“Princess, you have nothing to be sorry for” he assured you.
“Yes, I do! You wouldn’t have gotten hurt if it wasn’t for me” you insisted.
“Hey” he said, pulling you closer to him. “I would do it all over again, love” he smiled at you.
“Hey, man” Steve said, coming into the kitchen and making you and Eddie jump apart. “Uh, sorry, I didn’t mean to interrupt. I got some clean clothes for you” he said offering Eddie a shirt and some sweatpants.
“Thanks, man” Eddie smiled, grabbing the clothes from him. “I’m uh- gonna go change and I’ll get out of your way-”
“We’re having movie night” Steve blurted out of the sudden. “We’re ordering pizza and Dustin, Mike, and the rest are coming over. If you’d like to stay” he offered.
“Oh, I wouldn’t want to intrude, man-”
“You’re not intruding. It’s the least I can do after you got hit for me” you told him.
“You keep bruising my ego, Henderson” he smirked at you. “What are we watching?” Eddie asked, interested.
“Gremlins” you told him.
“Seriously?” he asked, raising his eyebrow at Steve.
“Don’t look at me, man. It was her turn to choose the movie!” he said pointing at you.
“Shut up, you two. Gremlins is an awesome movie!”
“Isn’t that what you call your brother and his friends?” Eddie laughed. “I didn’t know that was your favorite movie, princess” he said. “Well, how can I say no to that masterpiece and pizza, I really can’t” he said, leaving the kitchen.
“So…” Steve started.
“So?”
“Are we going to talk about what happened today or are we just going to pretend nothing happened?”
“What do you want me to say?”
“Well, you can choose between telling me why your sketchbook has smudgy drawings of Eddie” he said, opening your wet, torn, destroyed sketchbook. “Or why Hargrove and his friends were beating the shit out of him in the parking lot” he added.
“Steve, I don’t want to talk about it-”
“Well, tough. Look, we’ve been friends for a very long time now. I told you why I stopped talking to Tommy and Carol and all of our friends but you never told me why you did and somehow Munson knows!” he argued. “I get that you don’t tell Dustin everything because you want to protect him but what is so horrible that you couldn’t tell me?”
“You don’t want to know-”
“Yes, I do! You’re my best friend! You can tell me anything!”
“You’re gonna hate me!”
“What? No! I swear, okay? Nothing you say will make me hate you! We’ve been through enough shit that you should know that already-”
“I slept with Billy!” you blurted out.
“W-what?” Steve asked, hoping he hadn’t heard you right.
“What?” another voice asked, from another side of the kitchen. Dustin.
“Oh, you have to be fucking kidding me!” you said, feeling like you were going to throw up. “What are you doing here?”
“We all just got here, I was looking for you” he said, walking closer to you and Steve. “You slept with Billy Hargrove, what the fuck is wrong with you?”
“Dustin!” Steve warned.
“You know what? I don’t want to deal with this right now” you said, grabbing your damped sketchbook and walking out of the house to Steve’s backyard. Dustin was about to follow you but Steve stopped him.
“Look, I get that you’re upset but you’re not going out there if you’re only going to upset your sister more. She had a hard day-”
“Well, how would I know that, Steve? She doesn’t talk to me!”
“What’s with all the yelling?” Eddie said, coming back into the kitchen.
“Eddie? What are you doing here?” Dustin asked confused. “What the fuck happened to you?”
“Uh- I am…” he looked at Steve, unsure as to what to say.
“Okay, what the fuck is going on? And what are you two and my sister hiding from me?”
“We’re not hiding anything from you. You need to calm down and we can go sort this out, okay?”
“Fine” Dustin said, unconvinced.
“You promise you won’t snap at her like you just did” Steve glared at him a little.
“Okay” he sighed, rolling his eyes. The three of them walked outside to find you sitting on one of Steve’s pool chairs. Steve and Eddie sat next to you and Dustin sat on the edge of the one you were sitting in. “Uh, hey” he said, nervously. “Um-” he continued when both Steve and Eddie glared at him. “I’m sorry I snapped at you earlier” he muttered.
“It’s fine, Dusty” you said, sitting up and hugging your legs to you.
“Look, Dustin and I are just worried about you” Steve continued. “We don’t want to push you or anything, we just… want to know what’s going on with you” he added. You looked up at Eddie and he softly nodded at you. He really wanted to hold your hand but he figured Dustin might freak out about it too.
“Um…” you took a deep breath. “Look, I know that… I’ve kind of been pulling away” you started. “And I’m sorry, it’s just…” you sighed. “It was a stupid mistake and I didn’t want either one of you to hate me” you admitted.
“What- uh, when?” Dustin stuttered. “Um, no, y-you go” he said.
“It just happened once” you informed them.
“At… last year’s Halloween party?” Steve guessed and you nodded.
“Look, I was… really drunk and, dad had just left and… mom was kind of a mess and… I don’t know, I guess I was too” you said, sadly.
“Wait, I was there that night, why didn’t you tell me anything?” Steve asked, confused.
“You had your own shit going on” you reminded him. “With Nancy” you added. “So, after you left I got drunker and… then I don’t know, Billy was just there and… it happened” you sighed. “And after I felt so awful” you told them. “When I came down I ran into Eddie and he saw I was upset” you explained. “He drove me home and… he stayed with me and he made sure I was okay” you smiled. “That’s how we became friends-”
“You two are friends?” Dustin asked. “I knew I recognized your doodles” he said, looking at the metalhead.
“Sorry I didn’t tell you” you told Dustin. “I just… didn’t want to get into the whole thing and… it’s not really the conversation you have with your little brother” you admitted.
“I get that but… we used to talk about everything” Dustin said, sadly. “We were always kind of a team and for the past year it just felt like… you hated me” he said.
“Dusty” you said, sitting closer to him and hugging him. “I could never hate you” you assured him. “I am so sorry I pushed you away, I was just… so embarrassed about what happened and, I kind of wanted to forget the whole thing and I guess that in the midst of it all I just… ended up pushing everyone away” you explained.
“So, what happened today?” Dustin asked, confused.
“Well, I was waiting for Steve to pick me up and Billy and his friends just started being idiots” you told him. “Eddie saw and tried to help me” you continued. “And then Steve got there with his bat and they went away” you told him.
“So, that’s why you tell me to stay away from them? I mean, I always knew Billy was a dick but… all of your friends?”
“Well, yeah. I told Billy that if he ever said a word about what happened to anyone, I’d tell everyone he cried like a bitch and he had a small dick” you said, making the three of them laugh a little. “And then, either I just stopped talking to them or they would stop talking to me and… it wasn’t just Billy, you know? You were right” you said, looking at Steve. “They were all just… assholes” you admitted.
“I could have told you that a long time ago” Eddie chuckled.
“You okay?” Dustin asked you.
“Yeah” you smiled. “I’m sorry… about… everything” you told him. “Both of you” you said, looking at Steve.
“Don’t worry” Dustin smiled at you. “I love you dumb-dumb” he said, putting his fist so you would bump it.
“Love you too, dumb-dumb” you smiled back and bumped his fist. “No more lies” you promised and he nodded, smiling.
“It’s fine” Steve said, getting up and kissing your head. “C’mon little Henderson, let’s go set everything up” Steve said, patting Dustin on his back.
“Wait, why do I have to go?” he complained, still getting up.
“Just be nice to your sister, man, she’s been through a lot” Steve complained.
“What about me? I have been through a lot too!” he said, dramatically as they went inside, leaving you and Eddie alone.
“Hey” you smiled back at Eddie.
“Hi, princess” he said, moving over to take Dustin’s place in front of you. “How are you feeling?”
“Not so bad” you sighed. “I still would have preferred not to discuss my sex life with my little brother but… it is what it is” you chuckled.
“Sorry about your sketchbook, love” he said, looking at it on the floor.
“It’s okay” you sighed, going through the damped pages. “It just… might take me a little longer to finish your surprise now” you said, sadly.
“Wait, is that… is that me?” he asked, feeling his heart flutter.
“It… was supposed to be” you told him. “I mean, your D&D character” you muttered. “I… wanted to um… I was trying to get it right and I thought you m-might like it-”
“It’s perfect, princess” he smiled at you.
“It’s ruined, Eddie” you chuckled.
“Well, then I guess I need to get you another sketchbook, love” he said, grabbing it from you.
“You don’t have to get me one, Eddie” you smiled as he scootched closer to you.
“Jesus, Henderson would you just let me do something nice for you” he smiled, cupping your cheek with his hand.
“You do nothing but nice things for me, Munson” you smiled.
“What can I say? You bring out the best in me, sweetheart” he smiled back.
“Well, in that case, maybe you can do one more nice thing for me” you said, pulling him by his shirt, well, Steve’s shirt and he pulled you gently, brushing his thumb against your cheek.
“Gladly, princess” he said, smiling before he finally connected his lips with yours. He felt you smiling against his lips as you started deepening the kiss before you were rudely interrupted.
“Hey guys, pizza’s here- what the fuck?” you jumped apart when you heard Dustin’s voice again, with Lucas, Will, and Max standing next to him, trying not to laugh. “You two are together? I thought there were no more lies!”
“Would you believe me that this literally just happened, Henderson?”

“Woah, No no no - !”
Your plea falls on deaf ears as the universe merely humours you for a second, before allowing the bag of flour to tumble and fall down the side of the counter.
The fall itself causes flour to fly out of the little paper bag and leave a trail on the cupboards doors. Until finally, it lands with a dull thud, the flour exploding into a cloud of white on impact with the tiles.
White coats your legs, feet, the poor cupboard doors and the floor where you stand, leaving you frozen for a second while you stare down at the mess you accidentally created. A huff escapes you, but before you can even reach over to salvage the last bits of flour that still remain inside the bag, the kitchen door opens.
“Oh dear, what happened?”
Mrs. Holdsworth’s voice holds a playful tone to her care, seemingly getting a small laugh out of your harmless predicament. You, on the other hand, stand embarrassed and covered in flour - You had come here to offer a helping hand, not cause a mess and waste an entire bag of ingredients.
It is a pitiful image to walk in on, seeing you stand half covered in flour, an expression of a kicked dog and the stiffest posture you could force your body into.
With a sigh, you relax your muscles and bend down to pick up the paper bag with a sigh: “I didn’t notice how close it was to my…My arm...”
Mrs. Holdsworth simply gives a small chuckle from the centre of her chest, clearly not bothered by the little mishap as she steps closer to help you. With her hands, she starts to gather the spilled flour from the countertop and moves to discard it into the same trashcan you had tossed the now empty bag into.
“Will you be a doll and fetch the broom? I’ll take care of the dough in the meantime.”
Familiar enough with the house to not need any further directions, you simply nod and make your way over to the skinny broom closet just outside the kitchen - You move carefully, not wanting to spread more flour across the entire house.
It’s midday, allowing the sun to shine in through the windows of the house, nearly deceptively hiding the true chill that awaits anyone who steps outside. The winds recently have been harsh, some trees already unable to withstand the stormy nights, but luckily the damage has been minimal.
Rainstorms, foggy mornings and howling winds invite anyone to stay inside, to bundle up and get cozy in a safe, warm environment. Mrs. Holdsworth’s home is always special, a comforting yet magical space to forget the passing of time. Furniture and decor invite relaxation, little personal trinkets open conversation and questions about different things in life.
Your eyes wander over the surrounding space with a content expression, before you carefully close the closet door and make your way back to the kitchen.
The kitchen is lively, despite only you and Mrs. Holdsworth working here today. The table has baskets and bags of ingredients that are already half used up, bowls of prepared fruit and chopped ingredients, a scale stands out of its usual hidden spot on the shelves and the oven is preheating and giving a warm glow.
Mrs. Holdsworth had invited you to help her prepare a type of sweet autumn bread, and you eagerly agreed.
Your hands wrap around the broomstick without much hassle, given that the injury inside your left hand has healed entirely at this point - The incident having happened a week prior. It feels odd to think about the time that has passed since. It both feels like it happened last night and last month.
Yet, a glance at the calendar on Mrs. Holdsworth wall confirms the passage of time. The date reads a week and two days after your unfortunate, stormy trip to Golden Hills.
The cut your palm had sustained was nothing major, but it took a while longer to heal than you had anticipated. An injury on the inside of your palm, which you use daily, really is a doozy to heal without constantly irritating it.
Your right arm is still wrapped in its cast, the white material slightly grey and showing clear signs of wear. The fracture will take a while longer to heal, leaving you with this cast for at least 3 more weeks. By this point, you are used to the lack of mobility and the extra care you have to take.
Plus, having an unwieldy cast allows for easy excuses when you do mess up while zoning out, like today. The biggest downside has just been the unrelenting occasional itch beneath the plaster.
“You seem distant recently dear, what’s been occupying your mind to take you so far away all day?”
You look up at Mrs. Holdsworth, watching her dry her hands on a checkered towel by the sink. Raising your brows at her words, you turn your attention back to the floor and your broom.
“Nothing, really.” You respond nonchalantly, the movements of the broom turning more sluggish and weak as you think of what to say. “I guess I’ve just been zoning a lot.”
You crack a smile and shrug at the older woman, not wanting her to think that anything was seriously wrong. Your smiling expression is met with an unimpressed look that holds more motherly energy than you would have liked. She’s reading you.
Her brows raise and a telling smile stretches across her face, wrinkles accenting the sides of her smile.
“You should know by now that lying to me does not work.” Her voice holds a lighthearted scolding to it, making you cock your head to the side and rest your healthy arm against the broom, waiting for her to continue.
She turns back toward the counter and begins closing up some jars of ingredients. Her words are underlined by occasional glances over her shoulder toward where you stand.
“First I hear from Conrad that you nearly lost a finger while helping him due to daydreaming last week, then you mix up dates that people agreed upon for training with you and you’re constantly running late, you completely missed some things I said earlier and now you take it out on my poor, poor flour.”
The smile in her voice is audible, and you can see the corners of her eyes crease with her grin whenever she glances back at you.
“Half of those are because of my ar -”
“Hush, do not blame it all on your broken wrist!” Mrs. Holdsworth cuts you off, ”I have seen your face and your eyes, you’re daydreaming yourself away to something else!”
She turns to face you fully, her expression a fond annoyance toward your attempts to lie. Her arm reaches over to take the broom from you, causing you to furrow your brows in confusion.
But as you look down, you notice the flour is entirely gone; Both on the floor and on your clothes.
It takes a second for the thought to settle in: ‘Magic, right.’
Magic on Jorvik is more common than you ever would have assumed, and you have gotten used to it over the time you have spent here - But recently Magic seems to be more at the forefront of your mind than ever before, and not for reasons any of the people around you would like.
The brooch and strip of fabric still are in your possession. In the week that has passed since you got those peculiar items, you haven’t told a soul. Partly because you want to keep it a secret for your own safety, and partly because you don’t even know what to do going forward.
Your initial plan was to return it back to the man that had given it to you, seeing as it was mostly borrowed, rather than gifted. But with the weather changing from unpleasant to downright dangerous, you haven’t had a chance to venture out on another trip all the way into the hills.
And with this week that passed, you had time to think - And it drove you to overthink, now leaving you with a unique type of choice paralysis.
What if the items are cursed or will bring harm to you or your loved ones? Maybe you should go stand by the shores of Moorland and toss the brooch as far as your arm allows, watching it go beneath the waves and never turn back.
But - What if you were to keep it? A souvenir of something that will probably never repeat in your lifetime, something to memorise these odd events. Something other than an X-Ray of a broken arm, that is. This train of thought always leads you to huff at your extremely sentimental take on it all, but part of you is stubborn and wants to keep this adventure close.
And the plan of returning it to him? You aren’t even quite sure how to start this plan. Both times you met with the headless horseman, it was because he found you. It’s likely that he can’t be found unless he chooses to be.
So with that issue, you aren’t quite sure where to begin - The idea of camping out in the hills entered your mind a few times, but Aideen knows you would get hurt again.
“Ow!!” A yelp escapes you while your hand flies up to the source of the pain by your ear. Mrs. Holdsworth had pinched you, seeing you spiral back into your own mind despite the ongoing conversation.
You look over to her, seeing her expression holding no real harsh emotion, but instead something akin to a teasing smile of disbelief.
Rubbing your poor ear, you pout for a moment when she begins to talk.
“I know that look, that’s the look of a young soul falling into fascination with something magical. I have seen that look on many people on this island, I have seen it on myself when I was still young and beginning to unravel the island’s secrets!”
She shakes her head slightly, the smile never leaving her features as you shift your weight slightly. Her eyes hold a sincerity that was not there during her earlier teasing jokes. It makes you relax as you listen to her words, cherishing the time she spends with you.
“You’re falling in love with something magical, and for your sake, I hope it is safe.”
A moment of comfortable, important silence rests between the two of you. With a smile on your face, you give a little nod, reassuring her that you are indeed safe. Mrs. Holdsworth returns the nod with the crows feet by her eyes deepening as her smile stretches just a bit wider.
Deep down, you wonder if what you are doing truly is keeping you safe or spelling out something terrible for your future. But for now, you’ll nod.
Abruptly, she steps back and throws her hands up, speaking while turning back toward the oven.
“Or maybe you’re just a lovesick fool that’s busy daydreaming and little old me is looking too deep into things!”
Nearly offended and embarrassed at her backtracking, you gasp out a ‘Hey!’ which causes the old witch to give a hearty laugh.
It is roughly 2 hours later when you leave the small, cozy home with some freshly baked apple bread in your bag and a piece of it between your teeth. You make your way down the path in front of Mrs. Holdsworth's house, munching away on the still warm bread.
The biting cold is a harsh contrast to the warm place you had been staying at for the earlier hours of the day, the soft smell of home cooked foods has been replaced by the scent of yesterday's rain and the hay of the stables.
Winds whisper and howl through every fence and past the corners of each building, a particularly strong gust pushing you forward as if nature itself is urging you to hurry back into a warmer place.
You merely give a hum in return, acknowledging the wind's attempts but not moving to rush much faster, still chewing bites of warm bread while you let your eyes wander around.
Moorland is empty, for the most part. The paths abandoned while people exercise caution against the unpredictable weather, not wanting to put themselves or their horses in danger.
Right now the weather is unruly, but bearable - Still, the winds have a habit of turning fast, catching many people off guard in these past weeks. Every small gap in your clothes invites a chill down your spine once the cold slithers its way against your skin, led by the howls of wind.
An audible shiver leaves your lips as you try to huddle further into your clothing, the final bite of the baked goods disappearing between your teeth, allowing you to bury your hands into the pockets of your coat. The cast around your right arm makes the entire ordeal a bit stiff, but not impossible.
The warm pockets of your coat are welcomed around your hands, shielding them from the cool winds and inviting you to snuggle into the fabric even further, like a turtle retreating into its shell.
It does not take long for another, different type of shiver to run through you as your hand brushes cold metal, resting inside your left pocket. The sensation causes your steps to falter for a second, your walking speed slowing down to something more uneven while you make your way down the path that will lead you to the side of the stables.
Your hand tightens around the golden brooch resting in the deep pocket of your coat, allowing your thumb to gently brush along the symbols engraved in it. A symbol you have memorised at this point, a result of staring at the little item and trying to make sense of your current situation.
The brooch and the little tied piece of green fabric have been on your person since the day you had received them. Something about the idea of leaving them laying around where someone could find or take them struck a cord inside you - So instead you decided to always keep it with you.
It’s a plan you cannot think about for too long, because once the worry of it being cursed creeps back into your mind, the items weigh ten times heavier against your side. Yet, you like to tell yourself that you’re keeping it so you can dispose of it when the time is right, that you are only keeping it close to you so you can throw it aside somewhere no one will find it again.
But the truth is, you just don’t want someone else to steal it. It has become something you wish to keep safe, as if you were asked to watch over it and now you cannot just haphazardly toss it to someone else.
Plus, you still have to take caution with the people around you - For their safety, and yours. Aideen knows what would happen if you were to spill your new story to any random person. Most would probably see it as a silly ghost story, see it as made up to garner attention.
You twirl the piece of fabric around your fingers like a ribbon. It gets caught on your knuckles occasionally, the brooch in your palm very much limiting the movement of your fingers.
The path beneath your boots changes to cobblestone when you reach the Moorland stables, seeing a few people rushing back and forth to finish their tasks before the weather turns too aggressive.
A few friendly nods to the people around you, hurried steps and the sounds of a few boxes getting knocked over by the wind are all that follows while you make your way to your stable doors. Familiar scents and sounds greet you as you step inside, readying for a few hours of work.
The hay in the wheelbarrow muffles your sound of frustration as you let yourself plop chest-first into the clean pile of it that you’ve been wheeling around. Immediately, strands of golden hay stick to your clothing and hair, but you pay it no mind, given that you are already covered in hay, dust and horse hairs from the tasks you had been crossing off of today’s list.
Despite your sore muscles and the splinter you had somehow managed to get on one of the storage doors, neither are the reasons for you deflating like a balloon forgotten behind a child’s bedroom door. No, no. Your mind has been reeling with trying to figure out how to handle dealing with a maybe-cursed object. The constant mental back and forth has been taking a genuine toll on you, as the possible stakes of your current situation dawning on you more with each passing hour. It’s like something is hellbent on wearing you thin, stretching you until something inside your spine will snap with the most unpleasant and nauseating sound.
The idea of keeping that damned brooch makes a little voice inside your screech with absolute, stubborn terror. What if it brings terrible things to your doorstep? What if you weren’t even meant to keep it for this long? Another thing that worries you is still the idea of someone else finding it.
Carefully, you use your arms to push yourself upward slightly, your hips and waist bearing most of your weight against the hay while your chest lifts. It takes a second of rummaging, but you manage to pull the brooch out of your pocket. With an expression of frustration and confusion across your face, you look at it.
You cock your head to the side while you let yourself drop back onto the hay, your arm extended forward to keep the brooch in your line of sight.
For what feels like the millionth time, you run your thumb along the metal. Your eyes intently focus on it, glaring nearly, as if to try and intimidate an answer out of the poor brooch itself. The green fabric brushes along your skin a few times as you do so.
While you remain deeply focused on the small antique accessory, your horse is slowly but surely getting more and more interested in the tasty hay you are laying on. Reaching its neck down and stretching to its best effort, your Equine companion easily begins to munch on the very hay you are laying on, seemingly uninterested in your 50th dramatic brainstorming session.
Could anyone blame you? What took place by the gate to Golden Hills has been on an uninterrupted loop in your mind. You remember it all so, so clearly. It is as if your own mind will not allow you to forget it.
The wooden beams and boards of the stables around you creak with the howling winds outside. A soundscape you had gotten used to years ago, yet it still invites to shiver and glance around oneself. Alongside this eerie groan and howl, you hear your horse chewing on the hay you had been planning to place into its stall for the past 10 minutes.
You fumble with the brooch for a few more seconds, flipping it in your hand the same way it has been flipping your daily routine on its head. Swiftly, you pocket it once more. The added weight in your pocket no longer feels alien to you.
During these harsh conditions and downright dangerous storms, travelling all the way up to Golden Hills alone would be impossible. If you were to go, you’ll surely have to at least pass the next three or four days.
The noise that leaves your lips is one of reluctant acceptance.
With every sunset and sunrise, you nearly feel yourself beginning to count the hours. It is odd, really. This mix of excitement and dread that flows through your veins. It becomes especially prominent when you lay down to rest, be it to sleep or just to relax for a while. Your head begins to spin with the amount of thoughts whipping back and forth inside your skull, your stomach begins to tie into knots and despite these anxiety induced symptoms, there remains the giddiness of a child prior to christmas eve.
Your thoughts range from mildly worried, over hesitant excitement all the way down to disturbing. Most recurring being the idea of someone finding your dead body between some bushes at the side of the valley, and because no one knows of your little adventures, it would take them weeks to find you. You try not to let this thought take up too much of your mental capacity. How do you do this? Well, with a somewhat comforting, yet equally eerie fact you can’t dodge; If Thompson had wanted you dead, he probably would have done so on your first meeting.
Now here is to hoping you aren’t about to overstay your welcome with the headless phantom.
It is nearly comical, how the first thing you do every morning is pull the blinds and curtains aside, craning your neck at weird angles to see as much of the sky as you possibly could. Every morning so far, you were greeted with harsh winds and rain hitting your window in a relentless rhythm. But not today.
Today your eyes scan across a slightly overcast sky, the trees of Moorland swaying in the wind much more gently than they have in the recent week. The clouds are grey, yet not as heavy. A few wisps of white clouds dance in between, too - Some spots even allow you to catch a glimpse of the sunrise.
Something gleams in your eyes for a second and your heart leaps into your throat. Today’s the day, you think to yourself. Your grasp on your curtain tightens for a second as you give a grin at the sky, trying your best to fight the nervousness crawling under your skin.
Throughout the day, you do everything you can to prepare for your planned trip, hoping to be more prepared this time. Your plan consists of just setting up a small tent in the mountains and …Well, waiting.
Deep down you’re fully aware that Thompson would not just let you walk around and find him like just any other person. You had come to that conclusion a good while ago already.
An alternative plan had been to just walk around and try to call out for him, waving the brooch around like you’re trying to lure a dog back with a treat. The mental image gave you a small chuckle at the time, but you realise it might not be the smartest idea.
If you set up camp like planned, you could sit for hours and hope he might want that damned brooch back, leading him to decide to show up on his own accord. In your eyes, it feels like the safest and most respectful route. And you hope to Aideen that you are right.
Your travel to Golden Hills is pleasant, your improvised camping set safely stored away in one of the bigger saddlebags you had laying around. The one person tent folds and rolls up small enough to fit, along with some snacks you had made, water and a thermos full of a nice, hot drink. You made sure to shove the thermos into the bag extra harshly, some personal grudge still lingering against the object. Tossed along with the small set is a pack of bandaids. A rolled up blanket is, somewhat haphazardly, fastened to the bag as well. The brooch remains in the pocket of your coat that you’ve thrown over multiple layers of clothes to keep warm.
During your travels, your heart begins to race more and more as you get closer to the gate that will lead you into Goldenhills. The ride itself remains mostly comfortable, even if the occasional harsh wind has you squinting while trying to escape the flurry of leaves tossed at your face.
And at some points, you swear, your horse is giving you very judgemental glances. As if it weren't its very own fault that you even encountered the man in the first place! You huff to yourself, feeling accomplished with your imagined little argument against your horse.
It takes a good while to reach Golden Hills, but then begins the search for a nice spot to set up camp. It cannot be anywhere that would pose too much of a risk should the weather turn too harsh, but also nowhere you’d be spotted by every single passerby.
Your horse’s hooves carefully carry you along the still slightly muddy terrain, across all the winding paths through valleys and hills. The landscapes still leave you in awe as the crisp autumn afternoon air fills your lungs. You can’t help but enjoy the colourful surroundings, the endless patterns of gold, red and dark green leaves that make you feel as if you had accidentally stepped into a painting.
It feels nearly serene, were it not for the rapid heartbeat in your chest as you find yourself wondering whether he is already aware of your presence.
An idea pops into your mind. The idea of just placing the brooch on a rock at the side of the pathways and leaving it be, to avoid another encounter. Despite your anxiety, this idea is quickly shoved aside, simply because your feeling of responsibility over the small item is still there. The idea of leaving it out here, where any man or animal could mar and break it…It doesn’t sit right with you. So you press onward, keeping your eyes out.
Satisfaction puts a smile on your face when you finally come across a spot that seems fitting for your little plans. Higher up in the mountainside of goldenhills, surrounded by a few old stone structures and kept mostly dry by the old, large trees stretching upwards as if to poke the clouds that loom.
Over the course of the next hour, you are hard at work. With some struggle and help from nearby rocks to use as stepladders, you fasten a high line for your horse between two sturdy trees. After making sure the rope was a comfortable length for your companion, you make sure to give them a few pats and a very much needed kiss on their big, old nose.
Next, you begin to set up your tent with just a …Tiny bit of struggle.
Its small size luckily makes it easier once you get a good idea of what goes where. You give a relieved sigh once you finally place the wool blanket in the bottom of the tent. You crawl over it on your knees to place it properly, and then promptly turn around to drop on your back. Your hands are folded on your stomach as you take a breather. Doing all of this with essentially one arm was tougher than it looked.
The front of the tent is wide open, the entire structure currently functioning as more of a roof than a closed tent. With your legs comfortably stretched outward as you sit up, you rest with your thermos in hand. The hot drink warms your hands as you hold it close to your face. The steam of it gently sways across your face while your eyes look out over the scenery of Goldenhills and Jorvik beyond it. In the distance, you hear animals scuttering and leaves rustling with the wind. Soon enough, the audible breeze that had combed through the trees further away has reached you now, leaving you with a chill down your arms.
With a sip from the small metal cup in your hands, your entire body and soul begin to warm up more and more. You gently smile as you glance over to your horse, who has been utterly enthralled in eating all the grass in sight. Their tail gently sways, the relaxed posture also making you feel a bit more at ease. Maybe this entire trip would be more calm than you had expected.
Time passes, as evident by the slowly sinking sun and the clock on your phone racing through the afternoon hours. You don’t plan to camp the entire night or sleep out here. You told yourself that the latest you’ll stay is midnight, then you’d make your way back home.
With a quiet noise of struggle leaving your throat, you lean to the side, trying to reach your bag and open it with one hand. Once you manage to get a good hold of it and you’re sure it won't topple over and spill all the contents onto the ground, you reach into it. Your hand rummages for a short moment while your eyebrows furrow. Despite your short struggle you manage to pull out the small, battery powered LED lantern you packed.
The switch at the bottom is flipped and the little light comes to life, the warm white LED illuminating your improvies campsite in lieu of the sun that continues to sink lower.
You look over to where your horse stands by your right. They seem relaxed, idly looking around, ears curious and nose getting stuck into every leaf and shrubbery to inspect it. The sight makes you smile.
As if to directly counter the gentle scene in front of you, you hear aggressive rustling. You snap your head into the direction of the sound, over to the old trees the sound seems to be coming from. Your shoulders are tense and in the corner of your eyes you can see the way your horse seems to be alert. But it all mellows back out once you realise it’s merely two birds having a short tussle up in the crowns of the trees, the flapping of wings and a few short annoyed screeches making the situation more clear. After a second, your horse also seems to be way less interested in the sounds. With a nervous, relieved little smile, you bring your hand to rest on your chest and try to get your heart rate to go back down to something more reasonable. You feel the way it’s hammering inside your ribcage, but it soon relaxes. Still, the singular harmless scare is enough to keep your anxiety at a heightened state. Your eyes flicker around your surroundings, seeing shapes and movement in the shadows that reveal themselves as leaves and their shadows once you actually look closer. Your brain is busy handing you various terrible, worst case scenarios and suddenly you feel very exposed where you sit. You scooch backward into your tent a bit.
Mrs. Holdsworth’s words come to your mind, how she had read you like a book not too long ago. How you had given her your word that you’re safe with whatever you are messing around with…
With a calming breath, you let your hand wrap around the silver thermos again, opting to take a few more sips of your warm drink to try and keep your anxiety down, trying to ignore the tension in your back. You glance over to your companion again and a dark thought comes to your mind. What if they get hurt because of your little risky adventures? An undeniable pang of worry and guilt shoots through your chest at the thoughts, your expression pulling into a frown. You carefully adjust your hold on the small metal cup and bring it to your lips.
You recall all the stories you have heard of encounters with the horseman, and in each of them one thing remains clear - None of the horses were ever hurt. The realisation brings a downright bizarre mixture of relief and horror. If things do indeed go south, at least your best friend would be fine. For a brief moment you start to wonder if others would take good care of them, but you decide to kill that train of thought quicker than your brain had decided to kill you off in that made-up scenario.
You’ll be fine. You’re sure of it. Your biggest enemy as of right now were two magpies in the trees above.
Bit by bit, the drink in your thermos dwindles down to a few drops, the wind becomes more chilly and the ground under you is becoming gradually more uncomfortable to sit on. You adjust your seated posture a bit, hoping to get more comfortable while you screw the thermos shut for the last time that night.
Without being able to hold a warm cup or sip on a steaming drink, the coldness of the evening makes itself known to your skin and bones. You haven’t checked the time in a while but it sure does feel like you have been here all night.
The brightness of your phone screen is turned all the way down, causing it to barely add light to the scenery when you do check the time - 9:55PM. A huff leaves you at that. You had been out here for quite a while. But you aren’t going to back down now! Or at least, you aren’t planning to…
It feels like another 5 hours have passed, but it has been roughly 30 minutes. Your eyes keep wandering around the dark and undisturbed scenery below the hills. You can see the light of a few ferries from up here and even the lighthouse sometimes peeks through the trees, so subtle you could miss it.
Then, you hear it - Hooves. Their sound is muffled by the leaves and soil, but their rhythm is unmistakable. You swear, every hair on your body is standing on end as soon as the sound registers, breaking into the soundscape of the night that you had grown so used to in the past hours.
You lean forward instinctively, your heart-rate picking up once more. Could it be? Did you downright silly plan work? Did the waiting pay off?
Quickly, your eyes flicker across your surroundings, trying to spot the familiar glow, the familiar colours, the familiar and eerie sight. Trying to spot anything to confirm your expectations.
All you can do is hope the random rider did not see the utter disappointment that crosses your expression once they round the corner.
Seated on a dapple grey horse, is a rider from the fishing village. You remember seeing them occasionally whenever you would travel all the way up to Goldenleaf. Their own expression is one of gentle surprise, clearly not having expected anyone up here. Nevertheless a small camp.
“Oh, hi there!” They speak up, a smile audible in their voice while their horse comes to a stop not too far from your little spot. “I didn’t mean to intrude.”
Relaxed and with a small smile of your own, you wave them off, letting them know that its genuinely no hassle or issue. Even while you are talking with the stranger, a small voice in the back of your mind is stomping its feet in disappointment.
“Don’t worry, it’s quite alright! This isn’t the most common spot for people to sit, anyways.” You reply to their apology with a soft shrug, pointing out the bizarre choice of yours with some humour. The stranger gives an amused snort at that.
The person seems to be a bit younger than you, but not by much. A year or two, maybe. Their face is partially hidden by a big scarf, their attire clearly showing they had been out in the cold for a while. Your own brows furrow slightly when you see their slightly embarrassed expression turn into something more akin to…Concern.
“I heard that they sent out another storm warning for tonight. You, uh, might want to head down to the stables to avoid getting surprised by it, just in case.”
Their tone is genuine, their worry clear as they glance around and upward to the still cloudy skies, as if to try and predict the storm’s arrival.
Hearing the news makes your shoulders slump. It makes sense, you think to yourself, you’ve been sitting up here all evening with barely working mobile data to connect you to the internet. A storm warning would easily have been missed by you. You internally wince at that oversight. You could have really put yourself and your horse in danger.
You give the stranger a hum of acknowledgement.
“Ah, thank you for telling me.” You begin to get up onto your feet, brushing some dried grass off of your pants as you do so. “I probably should head down, then.”
The conversation between you and the stranger continues for a minute. They offer to help you pack up your things, but you assure them you got it. The two of you discuss the recent, insane weather and the frequent thunderstorms. They share a few stories from Goldenleaf and troubles the stable had faced, and you discuss some events from Moorland in a matching tone of exhaustion at the constant weather precautions.
You can’t help but feel grateful at how kind this rider is, offering to wait until you’re done so neither of you had to ride back down alone. Yet a part of you is worried at how willing they are to help you out, making you hope they aren’t too open and kind to just any stranger out here. Despite this, the conversation remains light and you even laugh at a few things while you pack the last few things into your bag.
Unbeknownst to you, the fiery eyes of an all too familiar mare had been keeping you in direct line of sight, sharp and focused as her and her rider want to ensure your safe departure, even from a distance. The stranger at your side seems to pose no threat whatsoever, yet the mare does not move, does not turn away until you and your horse have made your way down the path toward the village…
With all your things packed back into your bag and your horse being given a few treats for having been so patient with your recent escapades, you begin your ride down the hills.
Your newest companion, the stranger from Goldenleaf, is ahead of you and setting a relaxed pace down the winding paths. Around you the trees loom tall and imposing as if to remind you that they have been here long before you and will continue to remain here long after you.
Each dried leaf that breaks under your horse's hoof is audible, the forest silent besides the nocturnal animals that continue to move around for food and safety. All the colours you had seen earlier, the scenery akin to brushstrokes in an expensive painting, now are swallowed by the dark of night, everything falling into a dim, blue hue.
You give a soft sigh, upset with how quickly your plans for the evening were forced to change. With a torn expression, you glance back the way you came from and up at the skies. No matter how determined you are to see this through, it would be idiotic to put yourself and your horse in danger for it.
The thought itself feels ironic, labelling the storm as dangerous but not the deadly omen you are so keen on meeting again. Maybe this is your saving grace, maybe Aideen has extended you her mercy and sent this kind stranger to get you out of harm's way. Maybe you should take this as your sign to stop chasing after something that could spell your demise.
A rational corner of your brain seems to flicker back and forth between things. It reminds you how he has not harmed you in the past, but that does not mean you are safe in future encounters. You still do not know him. You do not have any idea of what to expect from him and how you might be pushing your luck with the headless horseman.
Your expression is a slight grimace of frustration and inner turmoil, a displeased scowl on your face as you can’t help the huff that escapes you. You can’t tell if your frustration comes from the fact that you now had to remain intertwined with it all for longer, with the brooch still in your possession - Or if it stems from not being able to have your next encounter with Thompson.
Carefully, you adjust your balance when your horse has to step over a particularly large branch. It must have been torn down in the recent storms, you note to yourself. You keep your eyes on the side of the branch, trying to make sure your horse doesn’t get caught on anything.
And that’s when you see it. So subtle in the corner of your eye, you might have missed it. There, in the distance, is a flicker in the thicket.
You turn your head to look at it better, to see it more clearly. And sure enough, it’s there and it’s moving. The dense trees, bushes and the overall uneven terrain of Golden Hills make it hard to gauge the distance, but it seems to be quite far back.
With your breath hitching, you nearly don’t want to take your eyes off of it, scared you won’t be able to spot it again if you were to lose it now. It’s not long before your heart shoots up into your throat, your thoughts going into too many directions at once.
Your horse is still continuing their leisurely pace down the hill, the ride in front of you also visibly relaxed on the short journey. You’re going to have to make a decision, and you have to make it fast - With every step you’re not only losing more of the visibility, but also time.
What if it’s just a lantern and you’re doing this for nothing? The question is quickly tossed aside, simply because lanterns do not move like that. They do not illuminate like that. You swear that suddenly, the brooch weighs a ton as it rests in your pocket, the weight of it so much more prominent as you forget to breathe. Now or never. But is it smart to rush back into something you seem to have narrowly avoided..?
“H-hey,” You call out to the rider ahead of you, mentally cursing the small quiver in your tone as you try to hide your racing thoughts once they turn their torso to face you. “I forgot something up there, you go on ahead. I’ll be down in a bit!”
Gently letting your horse come to a stop, you watch as the other person does the same. Their expression shows slight surprise, slight concern, before they smile.
“Okay, well... Just make sure you make it back down in time!”
“Of course, thank you, again.”
You wave at them with an expression of gratitude for their help, and they return it before continuing along with their horse. You watch them for a second, watching the way they idly continue downhill, to the warm, safe stables with multiple other people and a lack of danger. For a second, you hesitate. You should just follow them. You should leave, get some food in your system, rest and leave this behind you.
Looking back uphill to your right, you nearly cannot see the warm flickers anymore, making you picture just how far the intimidating mare must have stepped away already. You grit your teeth.
The dirt under your horses galloping hooves is kicked up wildly, the leaves crunching and rustling as you and your companion continue at a nearly urgent pace. The branch your horse had so carefully stepped over is now leapt across with little hassle. You can feel the way the cold air becomes biting wind against your face as your horse rushes back up the hill. Between trees and rocks, traversing hills and dips in the ground with elegance and strength. You can feel the wind in your hair as you make your way up to where you had initially seen the flickering flames.
Your heart is hammering in your chest, threatening to break your ribs with the force it seems to have, while your pulse is rushing in your ears. Somehow you simultaneously hope to find him and find nothing at the same time. But, if your sudden turn around is anything to go by, one part seems to outweigh the other, even if you’re not willing to admit it to yourself just yet.
Coming to a stop quite a distance behind your earlier campsite, you look around, trying to spot which direction they must have gone. Instinctively you look for any remains on the ground, any signs of those fiery hooves having made their way through here, but nothing seems out of the ordinary. Your mind goes back to the last encounters with her, and you do recall the way her flaming form seems to not cause harm to her surroundings…
With your lips pursed, you look back up, your eyes slightly narrow and your breath still to completely focus on any giveaway. Any light. Any sign. Your fingers twitch around the reigns you’re holding, anticipation in your veins keeping you tense like a bowstring.
A confused gasp leaves you once you spot another flicker of light, but…It’s wrong. You can’t pinpoint it exactly, the short flicker and flash of it having been way too short to even properly look at it but, it seems…Wrong.
It seems too cold in its hue, too chaotic in its brightness and, horrifyingly, too close to you.
The light that you assume to be Thompson and his mare was quite the distance away when you last saw it move through the gaps between trees and shrubbery, far enough away that it nearly feels fruitless to continue after them. But this flicker…It seems to have been just a few metres away from you and your horse. You can even feel the way your companion seems to grow somewhat anxious, which is not usually their behaviour around the headless phantom. You watch their tail swishing and ears moving around. It can’t have been him, you conclude.
You keep your eyes focused on the area you had caught the flicker in, waiting with baited breath to spot it again. With a gentle hand you make sure to give your horse some soothing pats along its neck, quietly speaking to calm them down.
Something about the situation puts a rock into your ribcage, a heavy weight dragging down like lead, resting at the base of your chest and nearly crushing your diaphragm with a cold, cold instinct of fear. It’s deadly silent for a moment, only the wind reminding you of your surroundings as it rustles the leaves.
Before you can think further about any of the things you feel under your skin, your eyes widen and immediately snap over to the light once more. This time you catch it more clearly, the way it seems to rush from behind the trees to a different spot. At first it reminds you of someone in a reflective coat, something you’d see worn near the streets of town to avoid accidents. But it doesn’t quite line up, especially given that it just…Disappears.
Your face is scrunched up in confusion. Is it a reflection from somewhere else that looks bizarre up here? Is it some swarm of insects buzzing about that gleam and glitter? No, no it’s too bright for that, you’re sure. It can’t be a person, it doesn’t seem to be an animal. Is your mind playing tricks on you? Are your eyes seeing flickers where there are none?
The unease is still sticking to you like wax when you urge your horse to continue forward once more, moving in a trot and trying to put distance between yourself and that specific spot. A shuddering sigh leaves your lips while your brain continues to race, trying to figure out what you had just seen. You opt to push it into the back of your mind for now, not wanting to freak yourself out over what could very well have been nothing of note.
With newfound determination, you focus your gaze back upward to the faraway rows of trees, all but straining your eyes to find the familiar, less unnerving glow again. When you do notice it again, your shoulders relax a bit, glad that you did not lose them during that odd startle. Once again you cannot help but wonder if all these interruptions are trying to tell you something, trying to keep you away, keep you safe.
You’re about to urge your horse to pick up its pace again and rush after the deadly duo, when you suddenly hear a voice call out from behind you. You twist your upper body somewhat uncomfortably while simultaneously stopping your horse in its tracks. Wide eyes and furrowed brows put your face into an expression of confusion and alertness. The voice was clearly audible, but the words seem to have muddled together, your brain unable to pull it apart into a coherent sentence. You stare behind yourself for a moment longer, ears and eyes focused to try and hear it again, to see something.
After another uneventful moment, you chalk it up to pareidolia of the howling winds and move onward.
Back in your earlier gallop, you rush through the autumnal forest, the cover of the night nearly threatening to swallow you and your horse whole, but you remain hellbent to reach your destination. You cannot help but wonder if Thompson and his mare are already long aware of you giving chase after them. You can only hope and pray to Aideen that they do not see your actions as aggressive or malicious.
A satisfied gleam enters your eyes, nearly making them sparkle in the dark of night. You’re getting closer, you can see it. They must be moving at a more relaxed pace. Oddly enough, the mental image of the headless horseman and his companion on a relaxed, calm walk through the woods evokes a feeling in your chest you cannot quite pinpoint.
Thinking back to when you had last seen them, the way they interacted with each other, that sacred bond they so clearly share and the way it felt wrong to be close enough to them to nearly feel it. The thought of them, together and undisturbed in the stillness before a storm, Thompsons oddly gentle demeanour and his mares confidence - It nearly makes you want to smile.
Any thoughts in your mind halt with a screech and the next second brings utter chaos. First you barely spot what is happening, second your horse sears upward, forcing you to lean into the movement to keep your balance.
In front of you appears a cold, white shape, before it quickly seems to rush behind a nearby tree that’s surrounded by shrubbery. Your eyes are wide and a startled, short gasp leaves your lips at the sight.
You huff when the front hooves of your horse hit the ground again, the thud dull and loud. Immediately, you begin to soothe them, leaning forward into their neck somewhat to ease them out of their panic as you embrace and pet them carefully.
“It’s okay…” You speak, voice hushed as your eyes continue to move around frantically. Your hands are beginning to tremble, your fingers unsteady against your horse's fur. You can nearly feel the way all the colour has drained out of your face.
The only thing on your mind is the way that damned thing moved. How human it moved. The way it appeared out of nowhere, the way it looked so unnatural yet each movement looked nearly human, just ever so slightly uncanny.
Your mind is running wild, wondering if you’re encountering a ghost, a spirit. You nearly call that idea silly but then you remember everything else you’ve been experiencing and suddenly the thought seems more plausible than ever.
When you try to recall what this…Thing looked like, you struggle. You can’t quite make out what its height was, your angle from atop the horse skewing the perspective slightly, and the way you startled definitely did not help. You can’t remember any expression, a face - The thought only makes you shudder.
Your entire body feels like jello after multiple startles, yet somehow your muscles feel tense and rock solid. One more thing like that and you’d drop dead off of your horse, you think to yourself.
Whatever this thing is, it seems to be following you, maybe even taunting you. Yet it seems nearly…Innocent in what it does, startling you and then hiding again, it reminds you of a child, misbehaving and messing around, and then hiding as soon as the adults react.
Trying to keep your heart from reaching up into your throat, you continue onwards, this time at a walking pace. It’s at this point that you realise that you have entirely lost the last little flickers that alerted you to where the mysterious mare and her rider have disappeared off to. Your entire rush back up into the hills is for nothing, you realise.
Your shoulders slump and an annoyed scoff escapes you.
“Shit.” Your voice is low, your tone defeated and resigned. You not only gave up your opportunity at a comfortable rest by Goldenleaf and getting back home before rainfall, but you risked your safety by blindly running back up the hills in the pitch black all for…Nothing. You chew the inside of your lip, feeling nearly bashful that it backfired so badly and -
“That’s a bad word!”
You nearly topple off of your saddle as you give a short yelp. You twist your neck to the left so fast you swear you feel something pull.
Standing to your left, barely distinguishable, is a child. His short frame is wrapped in some unnatural, ethereal white glow. The kid’s entire shape seems to be obscured by it and it’s hard to tell where the kid’s form ends and the white glow begins. The glow is subtle, all things considered, but it still faintly illuminates the surrounding leaves.
Your shoulder slump, a cold sadness grabbing hold of your heart. A child. A ghostly, young boy who is currently grinning up at you, giggling at the fact that you just swore. His face is hard to focus on, his shape clearly not meant to be seen by the human eye, but you can still see his soft face squishing together with his big grin.
You feel frozen. There is the undeniable urge to hold the boy in your arms, to comfort him, to bring him home to his parents, to weep. He cannot be older than seven years. The weight of that realisation makes your throat run dry, the faintest sting of tears in your eyes. What had happened to such a young kid..?
Looking down at the boy, your mind doesn’t even have the room or time to freak out at the fact that this seems to be a ghost, a real ghost right in front of you. All you can focus on is how small he is, how young he looks, how wrong it looks to see him in this undead state.
He’s holding his hands behind his back, wobbling back and forth on his feet, still smiling up at you, amused at having caught an adult being bad. The giddy posture of his just makes you swallow the lump in your throat, unsure what to even say. The boy beats you to it, either way.
“You can’t say those things!” His voice is light, like a windchime, but slightly hard to understand and nearly muffled. You can hear the excitement in his tone, the soft giggle. Oh, how your chest is aching. “What will your mama think!?”
You can’t help but give the boy a smile, the sadness in it would be evident to anyone older, but the boy clearly misses the heaviness of your tone as you reply:
“You’re right… Y-you got me.” You swallow down more emotions that threaten to bubble up. You can feel the way your horse remains alert, curious but it doesn’t seem to be unnerved or tense. Somehow, that just makes you even sadder.
When you open your mouth to ask the boy what he’s doing out here, you’re cut off by the sounds of heavy hooves. Your eyes widen a fraction and in the corner of your vision you can see the way your horse’s ears move to point toward the source of the sound.
Hesitant to take your eyes off of the small, ghostly child, you turn to look up toward the right. And sure enough, the sight makes the air leave your lungs.
Your eyes immediately meet the gaze of the mare, and as always, it feels like she is able to peer right into your heart and soul. For a second, you wonder if she truly can. Her pace is relaxed, her head somewhat low as she seems to be in no rush. Her imposing energy nearly makes you wish you had not gone through with this plan. The entire evening, things seemingly tried to lure you away from the headless horseman, yet you pushed past it all. And now you are facing the consequences, her eyes intelligent and sharp.
Allowing your eyes to move upward, you let your gaze wander over Thompson. Your eyes stay on the ripped fabric that still hangs by his chest, knowing the missing piece is in your very own pocket. The thought makes your pulse spike, your posture tense.
Mare and rider both seem relaxed, moving in a shallow curve to come to a stop in front of you, but facing the child. With the way they're standing, you're looking directly at the mare's side at a slight angle. What breaks the silence, is another giggle from the young boy, who is still standing off to the side.
You can see his giddy body language continue, one hand clumsily on his face as he grins big and bright. It’s like watching a young kid play hide and seek, giggling when they are found and wanting nothing more than to continue playing.
The mare gives a huff through her nose, her fiery mane flickering in the wind, its warmth reaching you in mere seconds of proximity. Without the rain you had seen her in last time, you are actually able to spot the way small embers fly upward in between the flames, floating up into the air like stars.
For a moment it nearly seems like Thompson and the boy are having a conversation you cannot hear, something you are not able to catch. You notice the way Thompson’s gloved hand adjusts his holds on the reigns, his arms relaxed as he does this.
Meanwhile, your own knuckles are nearly white under your gloves and your jaw is so tense it might just snap. Tonight has been nothing but confusing, throwing you off of your balance at every turn it seems to get. The scene in front of you is far from what you could have ever expected.
Your gaze snaps over to Thompson when you catch movements from him, your eyes widening and your mouth tightening into a thin line as you watch the way he draws his sword from where it is strapped to his back.
The blade glimmers in the flickering light of the mare’s flames, the sight of it making your blood run cold and your mind flare up in absolute terror and confusion. Your heart is beating loudly in your ears. Watching him wordlessly, you sit in your saddle absolutely shocked.
What is he drawing his sword against? The child!? You!? Both seem utterly asinine, but as your mind jumps to worst case scenarios, you cannot help but hope it is you instead of the poor boy. A voice in your mind is loudly demanding to grab your reins and make down the hill as fast as possible, to get away from the deadly omen that has just drawn a weapon in your presence. But deep down, you know that if he is planning to harm you, even running wouldn’t help you. So as helpless as watching the reaper angle a scythe, you keep your eyes on him.
Forgetting to breathe, you watch the way he lowers his sword to his side, his shoulder moving when he twists the handle in his hand to adjust his grip on it. The ease with which he does this clearly tells you just how used he is to the shape and weight of it in his hand. Even though he isn’t even turned toward you, the thought makes you swallow dryly.
You try to find answers in the mare and Thompson’s posture, but both seem neither agitated nor tense. Thompson’s movements seem stern, but not…Threatening.
His right arm is extended to the side as he slowly raises the sword, the tip of the blade pointed directly somewhere far off in the forest. Your brows furrow as all you can do is watch. Worried and confused, you look back down to the child, who seems entirely unconcerned and still oddly giddy as he looks down toward where the sword is pointed. Is this all a game to the kid? Are you… Missing something? You take note of the way the blade is not pointed at either you or the boy, so what is…? You catch the subtle way Thompsons torso seems to tilt slightly in response to the boy's laughter, his shoulders uneven as he does so. It reminds you of the posture one would have when tilting their head.
Picturing that little gesture is all it takes for your angle of the situation to switch around. The Mare’s little huff, the way Thompson seems to be in no rush, the giggly demeanour of the child, the way Thompson seems stern but not in the way a deadly phantom would be, but rather…Like a mentor. Like a Parent.
Your eyes soften when you look down to the kid, who grins up at you one more time before hurriedly making his way down the direction Thompson was pointing toward. It’s hard to tell with the way the ghostly wisps of white obscure the child, but it nearly looks as if he’s waving to you.
With tiny, quick steps and a certain skip to his pace, the boy rushes behind one of the trees and…Disappears. You wait for a moment, waiting to see his little smiling face to pop back up…But it remains still. The boy is gone.
This…This isn’t a terrible phantom coming to punish some lost soul, this is…A shepherd. Someone guiding the poor young boy back on track, he’s… Here to pick him up. You have heard countless stories on Jorvik, talking about how this is the season for ghosts to stumble back into the land of the living. It makes sense that a young kid would be the one to waddle furthest from home and need to be taken back safely.
The little ghost was playing around, lost in the woods, away from where he needs to be…So rider and mare came to help him back home. No wonder their body language nearly seemed fond, rather than annoyed or angered. The raise of the sword was no threat of violence, but instead how a parent would point to the doorway and urge you to come back inside after missing curfew. The comparison makes something in your chest sting. Had you…Misunderstood them entirely? Has all your worry and your panic been misplaced?
Your gaze flickers back up to Thompson, watching his back while he lowers his arms. You can see the way his shoulders slump, as if to sigh. He turns his torso back toward you, his companion adjusting her stance as well and facing you more, the reins in one of Thompson's hands.
With practised ease, he sheathes the sword onto his back once more, the glimmering blade disappearing. The lack of a weapon in his hand does wonders to help your nerves. But watching this all unfold did quick work of a lot of your anxiety already.
You remain seated in your saddle somewhat stiffly, your eyes flickering back to the tree the boy had disappeared behind. The idea of him being gone makes your lips turn downward.
“Where is…Where did he go?”
Your question is hesitant and your tone somewhat hushed, unsure if you’ll even get an answer. It also sounds slightly strangled, as if a band is wrapped around your throat. With your sadness and worry for the ghostly child visible on your face you, look back to Thompson.
He watches you for a second, his posture nearly..Sad. Thompson raises one hand in a loose fist and gently lets it rest against his chest, right at the height of one's heart. The reply feels relieving and heartbreaking as you try your best to understand it. “Home..?” You all but mouth, your voice nearly too airy to be audible.
Thompson gives a gentle bow in confirmation. You repeat the single word again, whispering it to yourself as you glance back to the trees.
You cannot help but wonder what it means. Home for a young ghost like that. Is it lonely? Is it full of his favourite candy that he can never get stomach aches from? Is it welcoming and warm? Are there friends for him to play hide and seek with? The heaviness of your thoughts make your eyes sting for a moment.
Closing your eyes, you take a deep breath. You don’t notice the way Thompson and his mare catch your sadness.
Once you open your eyes again, you remember what you had even come all the way out here in the first place. You have countless questions you wish to ask, things you want to know - But you know that this is neither the time nor place for it. With still shaking hands, you look down and look through your pocket. In the corner of your vision you can spot the way the fiery mare leans slightly closer, her snout curious, trying to see what you’re doing. Thompson also straightens out his posture somewhat, clearly also confused for a moment at your sudden, wordless search.
A small sound of satisfaction leaves your lips when you manage to pull the brooch out of your coat pocket. You run your gloved thumb over the cold, golden metal once, an unnamed feeling spreading through your chest. Nevertheless, you give a soft sigh and gently fold the fabric a bit nicer underneath the brooch.
Both of them recognize what you’re holding immediately, and both seem to be equally as surprised.
“I - I came to give it back to you.” You try your hardest to keep your voice even, but your nerves are still present no matter what you try. “Thank you for lending it to me.”
Thompson's hands raise ever so slightly, like he is surprised at your words. Before you can say anything else or try to read his body language any more, you let out a short, surprised sound as the mare steps closer. To your credit, even Thompson seems slightly startled by the sudden movement, so you don’t feel as bad.
You lean away from her slightly, your heart racing at the proximity to the intimidating mare. Her snout presses into your palm that’s holding the brooch, seemingly inspecting it. Your torso leans away from her, your eyes wide as you let her do what she wishes.
In the meantime, your horse seems entirely unbothered, simply a bit curious at best. The mare’s flaming mane warms up your skin and as you watch her nudge and sniff the brooch, you cannot help but smile a bit, the way she is acting nearly …Cute.
You don’t realise, but Thompson catches the way you begin to smile, and it seems to put him at ease a bit, watching you relax around the mare. Once she’s done, a short huff escapes her while she leans back, nearly as if she is pleased with whatever she was checking it for.
A nervous, little laugh leaves your lips at that. You lift your hand up higher and extend it out toward Thompson, for him to take the brooch from you.
You nearly hesitate in your movement, your hand slightly stuttering. Do you really want to give it back? Lose the last thing that ties you to the headless horseman? What if this is the last time you’ll see him and the mare?
Before you can worry about it any further, you feel the leather of his gloves brush your palm as he takes it from your grasp, his hand so gentle you can barely believe it’s the same hands that held his sword with such ease.
He runs his gloved thumb over the golden metal, just like you did. He seems slightly surprised, possibly at the way it shines and glimmers after you cleaned it. His hand closes around the brooch and he gives you another gentle bow, this one longer than the last, a sign of his gratitude. You cannot help but wonder, would there be a smile on his face?
While giving your horse a few pats on its neck, you watch as Thompson carefully pins the brooch back where it belongs, using it to put the ripped green fabric back together, leaving it now only connected by the pins needle. It’s an odd sight, forever a sign of your involvement in his existence. A reminder, you were here. It nearly feels surreal.
For a second, he adjusts the brooch somewhat, until he seems happy with the result and lets his hand fall back down to rest on his thigh. The sight of him gently fiddling with a brooch is nearly endearing.
His mare gently begins to step past you and your eyes never leave the two of them. Her heavy hooves sound muffled on the soil and leaves, and you mentally note that you were indeed right - She leaves no damage in her path. Once she walks past you and the distance between you and the mare becomes greater, you feel the lack of warmth nearly violently quick. A shiver runs under your skin, becoming audible when it gets past your lips.
You watch the way Thompson gently comes to a stop again, and you wonder what he’ll do next. He’s a few steps ahead of you, facing to head deeper into the hills. Then, he holds his hand out, beckoning you to follow. You see the way the mare’s gaze lands on you as he looks behind herself as well.
Immediately, your eyebrows move up and your lips fall slightly agape. You stare at them for a moment, feeling your heart hammering in your chest at the option of joining them on a ride. Above you, you spot two magpies landing in a nearby tree, leaves rustling where they land.
You swallow nervously, your eyes falling back down to the pair that is still waiting on your answer.
With Goldenleaf and the storm forecast temporarily forgotten, you nod, a small smile on your face as you gently urge your horse to fall into pace next to Thompson and his mare.
Immediately you feel warm again.

Found myself reading some old Inception fic and felt the urge to poke at an AU idea—I know ST fandom skews a little young, so I genuinely don’t know how many people will even get this. If there are Inception primers out there, I haven’t bothered to find them, so…you’re on your own, kids.
“Absolutely not. I do my own forges.” Eddie sweeps the file off the table and directly into the trashcan; admittedly, it’s not the most mature thing he’s ever done, but Henderson’s getting on his last goddamned nerve.
The little twerp has the fucking audacity to roll his eyes and groan, like Eddie’s the one being unreasonable. “I know this guy, don’t be a dick. He can do it. Don’t you wanna focus on your super special architect stuff?”
“What you and every other dumbass dilettante drowser don’t seem to grasp is that my architecture is alive, and I breathe life into it via my meticulously crafted characters. I create richly textured worlds, Henderson, and I populate them myself. That’s why I’m the best in the fucking business: because I understand that the people and the setting are one and the same, and I can handle both.”
“Eddie.” Henderson crouches to grab the file out of the trash, and smacks it back down on the table. “I’m running this team, and I’m saying I don’t want anything like what happened in Munich to ever happen again. Okay?”
“Low blow, kid,” snaps Eddie. “Munich wasn’t on me.”
“I know, jeez. I just…” Henderson takes a second to tap the loose sheets in the file back into place, then stands there with his lips pressed together like he’s keeping something in. After a moment, he just says, “This isn’t going to be Munich. Because Steve’s going to be here.”
———
It’s not Munich. It’s not Munich at all. It is the furthest fucking thing from Munich possible.
Eddie’s never had a job go that smoothly—and it’s not down to Henderson’s obsessive prep, because it should’ve been a slippery one. The kind of job that twisted partway through into something frustratingly unexpected, forcing them to improvise and take whatever half-win they could squeeze out of the mark’s subconscious while dodging completely unexpected security.
Instead, it’s so incredibly not-Munich that the client gives them a fucking bonus, and when was the last time that happened? The bonus is generous enough that Eddie’s share can cover a whole new safehouse in Melbourne, which should have been great news, something to celebrate, except for the absolutely unholy amount of smugness now radiating from Henderson.
Eddie avoids the I-told-you-so conversation as long as he can, but he can’t run forever.
“I told you so,” says Henderson, flopping unceremoniously into the dark wooden chair next to Eddie.
“This is a library, dude. Keep your fuckin’ voice down,” says Eddie, without much hope. He’d heard Henderson was supposed to be meeting up with Sinclair in Lima this week; so much for that intel.
Henderson waves a dismissive hand, gesturing vaguely at the domed skylight high overhead. “It’s not like a library library. It’s basically a museum.”
“The goddamn State Library of Victoria is absolutely one hundred percent a library library, genius. See all the books? But also, do you think people go around yelling in museums?”
“Maybe they should! What we should be focusing on now, though, is that I was right about Steve, and I think it’s important for our working relationship that you acknowledge I was right.”
“I don’t have to acknowledge shit,” says Eddie, slumping down and ignoring the glares they’re starting to get from everyone in the atrium. “Anyone ever tell you you’re an egomaniac, kid? I don’t even get why you’re so hot on the guy, anyway. He’s like—the least imaginative forger I’ve ever met.”
It comes out a little harsher than he’d meant it. It’s just that forgers, as a people, tend to be easily swept into flights of fancy.
Eddie’s always sort of thought it was a requirement of the profession: when he’s inhabiting a character, part of his mind is always working to generate the little details that make them feel like a whole person. Their secret fears and even more secret hopes. How they deal with boredom or anger, what their gut reactions are. The small gaps between how they see themselves and how others see them. That’s where Eddie thrives, and he thinks that if he were less hooked on the magic of spinning up entire worlds for marks to wander through, he might forge full-time, just for the thrill of riding that uncertainty. It’s how he was taught, but clearly, Steve learned something different.
What Steve does isn’t really classical forging—not in the way Eddie thinks about it, usually. Steve just…walks into a situation, says some stuff, maybe gives the mark a smile all warm and private like a whispered secret. And then the mark folds. It’s maddening how easy Steve makes it look. Oh, he’ll pull on the right costumes and tweak his physicality a little, but it’s always still just Steve underneath.
Maybe that’s the trick. Eddie’s forges work because he crafts lavishly detailed lies; Steve’s forges work because there’s some kind of real, solid honesty at the core.
“I’m going to ignore the hurtful thing you just said because I know you hate to admit it when I’m right and you’re wrong,” Henderson informs him. “You really gotta work on that. More importantly, I’ve got a lead on a new job, and Steve already said yes.”
It’s not like Eddie needs the money. Henderson’s a nightmare to work with. And there’s the, y’know. The Steve Harrington of it all. Eddie has a million reasons to say no.
“Yeah, whatever,” he says instead. “When do we start?”
#not the start of a new thing! just a napkin scribble!#weirdly I think the most challenging part of writing this was shifting my core concept of the boys away from Just Some Guy#personally I'm not super drawn to rockstar or royalty AUs for them bc they're so intensely Just Some Guy to me#more specifically I find it fascinating how they deal with the absence of social validation in different ways#Inception AU

CARRY ON MY WAYWARD CHILD [PART 3]
Ω PJO IMAGINE Ω
PROMPT: When a dream makes the reader unable to settle, they decide to take a walk, converting their dream to reality.
Reader encounters Luke, Thalia, and Annabeth on the run when they have a dream that makes them go out and see a sick Annabeth with a tired, injured Luke and Thalia. They take them in, saving them, and encounters them years later when they remembered a kind stranger.
a/n: Reader is neutral; no specific pronouns or descriptions used. Referred to as Y/N. Roughly college/university age. [AO3 LINK] | [1] [2] [3] [4] ___________________________________________________
Rationalizing that you had definitely lived in your aunt’s house for way too long to start thinking about gods and goddesses, and demigods, you decided to push the thought the kids you brought into your house were demigods.
They were just kids who you so happened to find in the place you dreamed about and that you decided to be a respectable person and keep these kids safe in your house, and you were going to be a good host until they decided to slip away to run to their haven from whatever they were running from.
‘whatever they were running from? To their haven’ you thought oddly, as you swept up the shards and dropped food. ‘How the hell did I know that?’
Your brain stalled once more as you stood up with the swept up contents, and almost dropped it again in fright as you saw the three kids staring at you wide-eyed from the threshold of the living room.
“OH GEEZE” you yelled, hand shaking to not drop the dustpan and scatter more, but you did drop the broom to place a hand on your beating heart.
“Ah, sorry!” said Luke as he held up his hands, “We just...we heard the plate crash and then we really didn’t hear anything so we just wanted to see what was wrong-”
You took a deep breath to continue but before you could dismiss their worry, you heard Annabeth gasp as she was standing in front of the weapon that brought you your latest revelation.
“Wait, why do you have that?” asked Thalia, giving you a curious look.
“Well...I did mention my aunt was pagan. I think she used that for some rituals on very special circumstances” you explained, dumping the dustpan contents into a nearby trashcan.
“But it looks like its made out of celestial bronze! Like our own weapons-” muttered Annabeth intrigued before Luke shushed her.
“Celestial bronze? Wait hold up, you guys really have weapons-” you felt the air in your lung leave you. The ringing in your ears were going off as you felt a heavy feeling in your gut.
Like a storm that was brewing and the pressure was building, waiting to snap-
“Y’know what, I just remembered. I need to check on your sister’s temperature to see if her fever has gotten any better” you said, changing the subject. You didn’t miss the three kids look at each other with a silent communication but you ignored it to get the thermometer.
You found the kids hadn’t moved from the living room, looking at all the stuff your aunt had collected over the years. As you began to Annabeth’s temperature, you found your eyes staring at her gray eyes, that seemed to study you. Deconstructing you and made you feel vulnerable and on edge.
You looked from the corner of your eyes to see Thalia watching you steely with her electric blue eyes. There was something in her eyes that radiated warmth and longing but you recognized those eyes as something as weariness. She was a teenager if you had to ballpark it, but you also know she was tired yet guarded, as if she had to grow up in more ways then one.
You then glanced back at Luke who was also watching you but was doing his best not to make it obvious. You saw something akin to envy and relief in his eyes, watching as you looked over at Annabeth, but you also saw him looking all possible exit points; as if any moment they needed to bolt.
The thermometer beeped and you withdrew it, checking her temperature. You grinned, “A bit on the high side by a couple of points, but you’re better then before! Just got to be careful, get some more medicine, food in you and rest, then you’re good to go.”
You took the alcohol wipe to clean the thermometer and busied yourself cleaning, but you smiled privately as Luke and Thalia physically relaxed at your news.
“Uh,” you turned and saw Thalia looking sheepish. “Thanks, for...everything and sorry too.”
You blinked in surprise but you gave a smirk, and shrugged. “Hey don’t worry about it. I swore on the river styx didn’t I?” you looked away to put away the medicine kit to the side, though aware of Thalia rubbing her arm in embarrassment.
“Besides, putting aside of being a good host, I’m doing what needs to be done. Don’t worry about it.” you nodded your head to her other siblings, “I’ll take of you guys, and you’ll be able to take care of each other right?”
Thalia looked at you with something akin to understanding and nodded. “Yeah, we take care of each other.”
You grinned but somewhere in the back of your mind, you could feel someone, or something, peering at you from the corner of the darkness.
After that day, things seemed to progress. You let the kids have more free reign in the house seeing as they would be around for a bit longer. You showed them where the books, toys, and board games were to keep themselves entertained while you still had to face your reality as an adult.
Which was the damn paper and your college classes.
It was nice, having them around. It made the house less lonely and it seemed to motivate you. But when you got absorbed in your class work and your classes, in between, you started to notice somethings. While on the outside, they seemed to relax and finally settle back into being kids, there was just something off.
That was something wasn’t right.
The first time you were conscious of it was when you were coming back from one of your college classes. You had to attend an evening class that lasted 4 hours straight, followed by a post-lecture class, and you had to stay behind with your fellow classmates to get some stuff done. So by the time you returned home, you were dragging your legs numbly through the barely illuminated street, carrying your book bag and some cold, leftover take out.
As you got closer to your home with its fenced off barriers, you placed your hand on the gate when you felt that preying look. It made your skin crawl, becoming clammy yet numb. You turned your head to look and you could see a figure across the street, standing there, facing your home. It was dark but even if you wanted to chalk it up to the midnight hour, you suspected it was inhuman.
You walked through the gate, making sure the latch was closed. You felt eyes on the back of your head, but it wasn’t dangerous. You turned and saw one of the kids, taking position at the window, staring across the street towards the figure…
Your spine shivered, with your hair rising at the realization. You speedwalked up to your home, stabbed your key inside and swung the door open, before promptly closing it in one smooth motion, before you stalked to the living room where one of the kids were.
You reached for the window curtain, closing it shut before the kid could question you as you turned to see whichever the kid it was.
It was Luke and he was clutching the dagger.
He looked wide-eyed up at you as you spoke with a shaky grin. “Came down for some late night snack? Want some leftover takeout?” you asked, holding up the very cold takeout.
The boy nodded numbly at you and the next thing you knew, the two of your were in the kitchen, eating some microwaved takeout.
It was a bit awkward eating the takeout but it was something. You felt safer that the kid was in the kitchen, away from whatever was making your senses go off. Somehow you knew, in this hearth, you had some power.
“So…” you started, taking a sip of your drink. “...Why are you really up?”
His hand stopped midway through and you politely took another sip to give him a second to gather his words.
“I...well, we...we’ve been taking turns keeping watch” admitted Luke, glancing at his dagger that was on the counter.
“Huh?”
There was a bite to the lip, his eyes dimmed before he gave a sigh. “We’re really thankful that you’re letting us stay here (y/n), even when Annabeth’s fever is long gone. To the tell truth, we should’ve been on our way a while ago but...we wanted to see how long we could stay here.”
You paused, finding the words that you once prepared gone. You mulled over his words as you spoke softly. “It’s not me is it?”
“No, but….we’ve been followed, in a way, but since you let us stay in your house, we’ve been safe in a way we haven’t been in a very long time. And we haven’t been safe...before.”
You took another moment to gather your words. This wasn’t the first time you’ve caught the kids taking watch. Between your odd hours and working between your work at home, you’ve caught the kids making what was perimeter watches. As if someone or something was going to break through to hurt them.
You then remember another memory that took place in this very house.
“Why keeps you awake, little one?” asked your aunt as she sat by your bed.
You squeezed yourself under the safety of the covers, glancing up at your aunt with scared eyes.
“I’m scared” you whispered finally.
“Scared of what?”
“The monsters...” you rasped, feeling your limbs turn heavy and cold. “The ones that hide underneath the bed and in the closet.”
Your aunt stared at you before cackling. She didn’t laugh in a way that was at you or the notion, but it was at the monsters themselves.
“You worry over nothing little one” reassured your aunt as she tucked you into bed. “There are charms and protections everywhere on my home and hearth. No monsters or any harm will fall on you or any of us.”
“Really?” you whispered as if you breathed out of the water.
“Yes. Long ago, our ancestors knew the way of the gods. We passed our knowledge down and we even use it to protect ourselves. We may be mortals, but we may never know. Especially in the way of the gods and monsters.”
Somehow you felt comforted and the relief begun to lull you to sleep. Your aunt smiled as she patted the top of the blanket and hummed a lullaby. “Just for tonight, I will watch over you sleep. Rest little one.”
Your eyes begun to close and darkness took over. You were lulled in it and the lullaby and warmth before you slept-
You smiled as you felt a burst of warmth spread from your chest. Luke stared at you oddly as you chuckled.
“Well, if you’re afraid of monsters like the ones under your bed or the boogeyman, I used to have the same worries too,” you started to say and you knew the way Luke was going to say by the way he opened his mouth, “But, you don’t have to worry any harm coming to you. As my aunt once said a long time ago, our ancestors knew the way of the gods and monsters. As long you are my guests, you are guaranteed safety.”
Luke gave you a look of doubt and worry as you smiled. “You might not believe it, but what’s wrong in believing something good, even if it’s just for a moment?”
And for just a moment, Luke gave you a soft smile.
After that night, it wasn’t as if they stopped taking nightly watches but they tapered out to every once in a while. You sometimes found one of them taking watch but they didn’t protest when you guided them back to bed. But there were nights that seemed to keep one of them awake anyways, then you would do what you could.
You were going to put whatever they were doing as a symptom of being on the run but it wasn’t until one night, you saw Thalia holding her canister tightly as something came close to the fence of your home. It didn’t touch the fence (as if it couldn’t) but you did notice something edging the parameters, as if waiting for an opening.
Something dreadful sat in your stomach but then it turned into fire. “You stay here, and watch your siblings. There’s a backdoor into a forest if anything happens, it’ll give you some time” you said to Thalia as you went to the front door.
You heard Thalia sputtering out some excuse to prevent you from going out, but you got distracted by something glinting in the corner of your eye. With what little light you were carrying, your eyes fell upon the greek tool that hung on the wall.
The Kopis.
You paused and then you grabbed your fingers around the handle, and lifted it. You weighed it and it brought a sense of strength in you. You found yourself out of the door and stalked towards the open gate towards the mysterious figure and pointed the Kopis at the being.
Your heart was beating wildly and while anger was fueling you, you weren’t sure what your next steps were. Words seemed to filtered from your mind to your mouth.
“Take my warning and do not approach any closer to my home and hearth. You will not harm me or those under my care.”
The being paused and you saw its inhuman mouth grin. “You know not what you house mortal”
The voice made your skin crawl, “They are my guests and as their host, I will not let harm befall on them. Lest even children.”
It tilted its head to contemplate. “Perhaps, you will not let any harm befall on them, but what about you?”
“Are you threatening me?”
“No, I can’t but someone else will” it grinned. It begun to mutter something that sounded like another language, in a way that sounded familiar. It was You heard bells ringing in your ear as you realized it sounded like what your aunt chanted, and you felt your hand swing the kopis. The being disappeared into nothingness before the blade could even touch.
You stared at where the being...no monster disappeared to and felt something ominous looming over you.
And when you turned back? You saw the cool and tough facade that Thalia always carried replaced with fear.
That same night you encouraged Thalia to go back, reassuring her that everything was going to fine. She didn’t believe it. You didn’t believe it. You both knew it wasn’t going to be fine. As you checked the other kids, tucking them into bed for good measure, you kept your eye on them as you closed the door.
When the door clicked shut, you took a few steps before you slid your back down on the nearest surface. Fingers clutched the kopis close to your chest while your eyes looked back at the windows to see if the monster was lurking outside. There was the quiet reassurance that whatever protection your aunt reassured you with, if it was even real, would hold but you didn’t like how the thing seemed to know a loophole.
While the children slept, you didn’t.
As you continued to find yourself awake still, you begun doing god knows what in the mean time. The previous events still replayed in your mind as you went through the events to have an idea what may have transpired.
Every time you blinked as you looked towards the windows, the sky changed until it was early morning. Routine kicked in as you haphazardly made your bed and made your way out of your room, down the stairway-You just smiled as the kids came down and for a moment, you let them believe it was going to be another regular day.
Then it came the nightmares.
Thalia begun to get nightmares to the point Luke and Annabeth weren’t able to sleep. Luke couldn’t stop doing night watches, seemingly taking them every night to not only cover his but also Thalia. Annabeth went back and forth between Luke and Thalia, who seemed to deeply trapped in her dreams. And when you all did manage to wake her up, she stayed up awake and kept nodding off.
The sleepless nights were all getting to you, until it’s final night.
That night, Thalia seemed tossing and turning. You got up from your desk at midnight to check on the kids and saw Luke and Annabeth tiredly and sadly watching over Thalia.
You had enough.
“Hey,” you called out to them as the two kids turned to you, long acquainted with your presence. “Come on, let’s go downstairs” you said.
Reluctantly, they followed you, trudging behind you. You went to the living room and got them to sit down on the couch. They looked at you confused as you went to the fireplace, feeling a greater chill seep into the house.
You started the fire, watching it roar to life and provide warmth and light to the room. You watched the fire dance for a moment before getting up to go to the kitchen.
It wasn’t long till you broke out the hot chocolate, marshmallows, and other goodies. Annabeth hummed with giggles at the hot chocolate and floating marshmallows as Luke carefully sipped his, wrapping his hands around the cup while the two of them were bundled in the thick fluffy blankets. You entertained them with stories from books and your own, watching them nod off as they listened to your voice.
You smiled as they nodded had finally gotten to sleep on the couch, as you stood with your back to the fire. The crackling of the fire and the warmth it emitted comforted you, as you lazily looked at all the lanterns from the fire litter across the room. You sipped your drink and let out a sigh, and was about to do a victory dance at the fact you got 2/3 kids to sleep-
A scream pierced the air and in shock, you dropped the cup. It shattered across the floor but upon instinct, Luke was already vaulting over the couch to their room as you ran after him. Annabeth’s smaller footsteps behind you. She pushed past you to go into the room as you saw Thalia thrashing more violently then before on the bed, screaming. Luke was shouting and shaking Thalia awake but was also keeping her down.
Annabeth was on the verge of tears and was also trying to get Thalia to wake up but there was little progress.
Luke turned to you and you saw the vulnerability on his face. How scared he was and how helpless he turned to you. “Y/N, help” he said with a broken voice, more lost then ever.
You pushed past as Thalia was scratching at herself and you wrapped your arms around her, blankets and all, and hugged her to yourself.
“Shhhh, it’s okay, everything is going to be okay! Your safe, everyone’s safe. It’s just a dream, you have to wake up-” you said in a mantra as you kept her tight.
The chill was getting stronger and then suddenly, Thalia’s eyes snapped open crackling energy before you felt something shock you immensely. You let out a yell of pain and your limbs went numb at the shock as you fell off the bed.
You let out a hiss and swore, as the pain went through your arms and body. You could feel your skin also burning like you just touched a hot pan by accident and you looked at your hands, seeing they were slightly red and were trembling. You couldn’t control your nerves, as you saw electricity sparking off Thalia who looked at you with terrorized eyes.
Realization was in her eyes and then regret. “I...I’m so sorry, I-I didn’t-” she stammered.
Your fingers and arms twitched at the electric pulse but you pushed yourself off, as you went to reassure her. “It’s okay, it’s fine. You’re safe, it’s not your fault-”
your words got caught short when a piercing howl went through the air. All three kids stiffened with wide eyes as you turned to the source of the sound.
“No” you whispered as you sped down to the foyer, and you could see from the window the mysterious figure from before grinning at you with its inhuman feature and the other monsters surrounding him. You heard the kids chasing after you and gasped as you all watched the figure take a step forward through the threshold and the monsters were coming.
You could feel the house pulsing with an energy that was growing weaker. Your stomach dropped like it was plummeting into a pit, the speed making you queasy.
You turned to the kids, seeing Annabeth weakly holding up and onto Thalia who seemed utterly lost. Luke looked wide eyed, betrayed but also lost as well. Your mind was racing-
“Luke, get your stuff! Now-”
“But-”
“NOW!”
The barrier was weakening.
You turned to Thalia and Annabeth for a moment before you went to the living room. You grabbed the kopis, weighing it in your hand for a moment. As you did, you saw a glint and saw the fire roaring to life and the lanterns.
You barely stopped to think what you were doing before you slid your knees towards the fireplace, grabbing one of the metal laterns. If you were thinking clearly, you would’ve noticed your hand thrusting into the fire, barely feeling anything as you grabbed a flaming coal to put into the lantern.
Words came to you easily as you whispered to the flame. “Flame of the hearth, let the flames of Hestia bless and watch over those who carry the flame to those weary souls” you prayed as the fire grew brighter.
“I got them!” said Luke as he rushed down the stairs just as the banging on the door grew more and more intense, with a nail being bounced off.
You rushed towards the kids, holding the bright flame in the lantern as you pointed to the back of the house. “Go to the back! There’s an exit!” you said as you pushed them out. You looked back as the door was almost being torn out of the hinges from the force of impact.
You pushed the kids out and grabbed the emergency pack that you left in the kitchen on the way out, before taking them to the back of the house. You opened the door and pointed to the backyard, where there was a small hidden gate behind an overgrown bush that would take them to a line of trees, hopefully it would be enough.
You gave the emergency pack to them as you took a quick glance back to see how much time you have.
“Alright, make a break straight forward. There’s a gate hidden by that mistletoe bush and it’ll lead you straight to those line of trees that hopefully delay them. Whatever happens, just keep running and don’t look back” you instructed as you pushed the kids out.
“But, Y/N what about you?” stammered Luke, looking at you for answers.
You looked at them all and saw that they were just kids. Your eyes softened as you looked at each one of them. You held out the metal lantern to Annabeth who took it carefully.
“Take this lantern. May the coal of this flame protect you all and light your way. Never forget there is light and warmth in times of darkness” you said as you reached out and patted Annabeth’s head. You turned to the other two, pressing a hand onto each of them.
“You’ll all be fine” you said before you heard the door crack in the distance. You readied your kopis, heart thudding against your chest as you pointed the way forward.
“Go! I’ll hold them off as long as you can” you said, before any of them could protest you turned towards the inside of the house, your back to them. You heard more protests before you heard Luke tell them they had to go now and their disappearing footsteps. You took a glance back and saw the light of the lantern growing smaller and smaller.
When you turned back, you saw the mysterious figure from before standing before you with monsters backing it. You held up your weapon as you shuffled to cover the door as much as you could.
The mysterious, definitely a monster, tilted its head at you. “Step aside mortal, we have no qualms against you.”
“No, not when you’re about to definitely go after these kids and hurt them” you said, raising your weapon.
“Yes, but they are demigods and we are monsters. It is their destiny to be chased after and be killed by us.” then it grinned, “Besides, why protect those who have harmed you?”
You heard the gloating tone in its words as you cursed. “That’s how you guys broke in” you said.
It hummed. “Well for a mere mortal, you’ve managed to protect them long enough, I’ll give you that. But yes, we can’t harm you directly but once those demigods have, then the rule of hospitality no longer applies to them.”
You could smell ozone and you were reminded of Thalia.
“It was an honest mistake” you said.
“Nonetheless, the rules were broken. Your protections are strong, but not unbreakable. Step aside mortal or you’ll be another nameless figure sacrificed for these heroes.”
You felt your limbs go weak for a moment. Your resolve wavering. You could feel yourself wanting to protect yourself in pure instinct, and your fingers loosened on your weapon.
But as you were about to step aside, you remembered the kids. How happy and relived they were to finally have a safe place to rest. How scared and broken they looked at their safety ripped away. You licked your lips and the faint taste of the hot chocolate you just had with them reminded you of them.
They may be heroes. They may be demigods. They may die an unnatural death but-
they were just kids and just because it was their fate, doesn’t mean they deserved to suffer unfortunately at every turn.
You gripped your kopis, feeling strength well up in you as you raised your kopis and growled.
“No, over my dead body” you said.
“Well, if you say so” said the figure and charged.
You slashed your kopis and swiped the first monsters appeared from the back. It disappeared in powder of gold at the merest touch and you moved, as if someone was taking over your body to fight for you.
You heard the mysterious figure yell out commands but you could see faintly something working in the background covering your bases but it was being tested.
Words filtered to you as you remember the flames around the home.
“Flames of the hearth, ruled over by Hestia, heed my call. Flames of the hearth, may your flames burn away the evil in my home and purify thy space-”
You heard a curse among them but everywhere went alight as flames took over through the hallways, sweeping through every space. You heard the monsters yowling before the flames burn them away, their golden dust mixing with the flames and disappearing. You felt the flame wash over you like a warm blanket, not harming you in the slightest as you closed your eyes and hoped the kids got away.
As you watch through the open doorway, watching the sky turn its hues from dusk to dawn, your mind and body seemingly at peace. The world around you was quiet. The house was quiet, almost hauntingly as the echoes of inhabitants you shared with were now gone.
The sun peaked through as you sat on the stairs, with one dumb thought.
‘Well shit, they still have my ID’

Insult & Affection
Summary: Edward isn't the best at compliments. They're backhanded at best, but you love him anyways.

Your hands braced themselves against Edward’s chest as you rolled your hips on top of him. In tandem, his hips thrust upwards, driving right into that special spot of yours. Pleasure coursed through your veins, and you threw your head back, moaning as that bundle of pleasure finally snapped – sending wave after wave of ecstasy through you. Your legs trembled and toes curled as you squeezed your eyes shut, small gasps and cries escaped your lips.
Just as you came down from your high, Edward snapped his hips upwards once more and groaned – his lips fell open slightly, he pressed his head back into the pillow. His cock twitched and pulsated inside of you. You watched him, smiling, knowing that the great Edward Nigma was coming undone right underneath you and there wasn’t a thing he could do about it.
When he opened his eyes, he stared back at you in the dim light. Beads of sweat rolled down his forehead and thin locks of hair clung to his skin. His face was flushed, cheeks blossomed with a tinge of pink. For a heartbeat, there was nothing between the two of you but heavy breathing and the beating of your hearts.
You smiled at him, but he didn’t smile back. Instead, he cleared his throat and said, “You can get off me, now.”
You sighed, but carefully maneuvered yourself off him, his cock sliding out of you. The condom he wore was filled with cum at the tip, the rubber glistening from your own wetness. How very typical of Eddie to be ready to get back to business after he’d just fucked you three different ways (from the side, on your hands and knees, and finishing with you on top). You sat on your knees as he sat up, swinging his legs over the side of the bed. Another trail of sweat ran down his neck and into his chest hair; he brushed the hair out of his eyes and glanced at you.
“What?” he asked. “Is that tiny mind of yours broken from such an experience that only I, Edward Nigma, can give you?”
You laughed. “It was pretty good, wasn’t it?”
He shook his head and sighed as he stood up. “I mean, really. That little mind of yours is so unevolved that it can’t even handle an orgasm.”
As he spoke, he walked over to the trashcan to pull off his condom and throw it into the bin. “And those noises you made – so lewd. You can’t even keep yourself contained.”
You sat back, watching him. Once his condom was off, his cock slowly began to return to its normal, flaccid state. Your tore your eyes from it and back to him as he wandered into the adjoined bathroom.
Yet, he was still talking. “Not that I don’t like the sounds coming out of your mouth,” he continued. “But you should learn to control yourself. I certainly can’t have someone like you wandering around my workshop.”
When he returned from the bathroom with several tissues, he cleaned his cock off of the cum, and glanced at you again, continuing on his tirade, “And now you’re sitting there staring at me. Do you need further instructions?”
He shook his head and approached you, handing you several clean tissues. “My dear, please clean yourself. You look like a mess. Not that I don’t like you looking like…this. But, well…” He trailed off his sentence and gestured at your naked, sweaty body. His cheeks tinged a darker pink.
“Well?” you asked, raising a brow. You took the tissues and reached between your legs, wiping yourself clean of your own wetness and lube.
His eyes strayed down, watching your movement. “Shush,” he said. “Your silly little brain of yours is really struggling to keep up, isn’t it? Honestly, you’d think after everything I’ve taught you, you’d know better by now.”
“I guess I’m still a work in progress,” you said with a sly smile.
He shook his head. “You’re even less than that, my dear,” he sighed, but reached forward and brushed a strand of hair behind your ear. “Now, how are you feeling?”
“I feel fine, Eddie,” you laughed.
“Just fine?” His brows raised. “Not wonderful? Not blown away? Not so completely and utterly spent that you need a few days to recover? Perhaps you really are broken.” He suddenly began looking you over, as if you were a piece of machinery in need of inspecting.
“Eddie…” you sighed. His fingertips were light against your skin. Gentle. A stark contrast to how he’d touched you earlier, digging his nails into your flesh. Leaving behind half-moon shaped marks into your skin.
He paused, finding several indents on your hips and back. “And now look at you. Your skin is far too fragile. Too easily damaged.”
“I’m fine, Eddie,” you repeated. You reached for his hand, to assure him that you were a grown woman and perfectly capable, but he stepped back.
Shaking his head, he said, “You’re not perfectly fine up here, are you?” He tapped at your temple with one finger. “Not after sharing a bed with me. I warned that tiny mind of yours the danger of getting into bed with the Riddler.”
He smirked, but turned on his heels and headed back to the bathroom, out of sight. You groaned under your breath but finally got off the bed and stood, your eyes straying to your clothes which laid scattered about. A moment later, you heard the shower turn off. You turned away and bent down to reach for your panties, when he cleared his throat.
You glanced up to find him standing in the doorway, arms crossed, naked body in full glory. Your gaze paused on all the tiny scars across his pale skin.
He raised his brows. “Well? Aren’t you going to join me? Or do I need to repeat myself?”
“No. Mr. Nigma, sir,” you said, grinning, and followed him right into the shower without another word.

Izumi Sena & Leo Tsukinaga x a messy, messy gn!artistic reader
——————————————————————
Synopsis: How would Izumi and Leo act with a partner who’s a tragically messy artist with extra messy on the side.
Tw? Unless you find fluff and pretend constant disappointment absolutely mortifying, there’s none!
Author note: I’ve fallen down the bottomless pit of Knights yet again and now i’m writing x reader fanfic to quell my depressing thirst for fictional idols. I don’t think the bible approves of me guys-
—————————————————————
—————————————————————
- Izumi Sena -
- Oh great, ANOTHER Leo. At least you’re not running around at the dead of night getting lost and losing your phone…. Right? RIGHT?!?
- He loves you! He does! It’s just… When he sees the remains of your 3AM artist mayhem it just makes him question everything. Just a bit.
- The sketchbooks… The loose paper… The pens, pencils, and markers all over the place… God it haunts him in his dreams. I mean, how does a marker make it behind the GOD DAMNED PILLOWS?!? HELLO?!?!
- Has seriously considered buying restraints. Don’t test him… He will. (must we remember his Makoto moment…?)
- He thinks it’s stupid that you trash so much art. You’re going to suffocate your trashcan with all that beautiful messy art.
- And don’t think you can get away with digital art!! He’s seen your file names!!! Disgusting. How do you even manage to find anything? You don’t? Explains a lot.
- It doesn’t matter where you crash, as you’ll always find yourself back in bed with all your tasmanian devil destruction cleanly put away.
- He always makes sure you get enough sleep, enough to eat, and plenty to drink. And don’t go slouching around like an idiot! It’ll ruin that pretty pretty appearance of yours… Seriously, SOOOO annoying.
- When you show him your recent art piece that has survived Hurricane Y/N, he smiles, just a bit. Butttt like the tsundere he is he quickly covers it up and says your eyes are just playing tricks. You draw too much. Go to sleep before he has to go through the hassle of getting you glasses!!!
- What’s that? You want to know his opinion? Well, of course you do! He is the MOST qualified person for this. He is a model after all~~ He gives you a healthy balance of compliments and criticism. He knows what getting crappy criticism is like, and he never wants you to experience that too. Especially from him.
- Once you’ve left, he smiles and admires your work. He loves it! It doesn’t matter if it’s the next Picasso masterpiece or not, it was made by you and that’s special. He really wants to see where your art goes, and he will stop at nothing to make sure that becomes a reality.
- Leo Tsukinaga -
- Crazy artist two, electric boogaloo.
- The team rocket theme plays when the two of you are seen together.
- “PREPARE FOR TROUBLE! AND MAKE IT DOUBLE!”
- Leo is genuinely SO happy he’s with you. Seriously. He’s never letting you go. Forget Anzu when he has YOU! :D His best, most beautiful muse!
- Naru walks into your shared room with Leo, it’s literally all paper and various stationary. She can’t even see you two!! She sighs and closes the door, she can’t take this much longer….
- Leo sees your art, and he glows. Like, LITERALLY glows. (god applied glow ink to him for 1800 seconds.)
- Your art just makes him so happy and giggly. He’s already hugging you and bouncing up and down like no tomorrow.
- Sometimes, he sees music in your art. Like, both figuratively and literally. There are now at least 20 songs that have come from the back of your sketchbook and 20 more that was written i n your sketchbook.
- If you were to EVER degrade your art in any fashion, well, Leo will get very grumpy. And whiny. And clingy. He’s NOT leaving your side and he will NOT shut up until you agree that all your art is beautiful and you’re super talented and super attractive and amazing and funny and- it never ends…
- There have been multiple instances where all the idols in Ensemble Square have found washed up and stranded pages filled with doodles and music notes. They’re just… not even surprised. They’ve even made a competition from it!
- Whoever finds the most abandoned children of the artistic mayhems ™️ gets *idk insert something that sounds appealing i can’t think of anything.*
- Now, if you decide to come with Leo to Florence, well…. Hell hath no fury like an Izumi annoyed. Buttttt that’s another story for another time ;)
I hope yall enjoyed my little head cannons for my favorite two idiots. If any of you wanna request then please check my pinned post! Have a good rest of the next 12 hours :)

Enjoy!
They’re too old for shit like this.
Hands down. Point blank, end of story.
Still, they’re walking through the Hawkins junkyard looking for all manner of bits and bobs for their newest “project."
They'd honestly all grumbled about it when Jeff told them his idea: building a go-kart. They all had work and other commitments and if they were going to do anything, they should be practicing and working on getting their demo tape finished.
Eddie was the one to hone in the vision, though; not a go-kart, think bigger. Think cooler. As much as he hated to say it, the punk rockers had something going with their rat rods and beaters.
“And it would look so fucking cool in a music video,” Eddie pointed out.
That was all the convincing they needed to build their own car.
Now, Eddie wouldn't consider himself an expert mechanic but he could get by. He'd worked on his van for years, Jeff's car too, and provided tune ups for neighbors every now and again.
But this? This was new territory. This would take time and work and extra sets of hands.
Gareth was the most precious about it, stating that his hands were the money, their bread and butter.
"You do realize all of us need our hands to play," Dave pointed out. "You're not special just because you're the drummer."
"I just don't wanna break my wrist again if it gets smashed under the two ton shitbox we're building, asshole"
"You'll be fine, just lift with your legs."
It also required more time spent back home in Hawkins, but it was a sacrifice they were willing to make.
“For the music video" became their mantra as they imagined themselves featured on MTV amongst flashing images and psychedelic colors as their songs blasted in the background.
Wayne was happy to see them, of course.
He got breakfast with the boys every weekend before they went on their little scavenging missions at the junkyard. From there, they spent the rest of their Saturday at the Emersons, turning the two-car garage that they used to have band practices into some strange auto shop where they learned to weld and install suspension and everything that wasn't just an oil change.
They even leaned into the shitbox-style that Gareth had criticized, and Jeff created a little experiment for making some of the pieces of metal rust and corrode intentionally.
They were Corroded Coffin, after all.
"Just don't get tetanus," Mrs. Emerson warned when she brought snacks out to them.
Unfortunately they all ended up needing a booster shot by the time all was said and done.
Little by little it came together.
They each had their specific vision, using other fictional cars as inspiration--the Monkeemobile and the DRAG-U-LA--but they agreed that they needed to keep with the theme, and in the end they built something reminiscent of a hearse.
A long body with panels that were probably poorly welded together, but they made the best of that, hoping that the Frankensteining of it would look more purposeful. In fact, they ended up naming their rod Frank because of it.
Steady hands from hours of painting mini figs led to pinstriping wherever they could. There were exposed pipes that looked like rib and an extra set of headlights that looked like angry, glowing eyes. Eddie even sacrificed one of his rings and soldered it to look like an earring. Absolutely badass.
"Ok but can it run?" Jeff asked nervously.
They'd gotten it started many times, tested to make sure everything worked...but now it was a real put-your-money-where-your-mouth-is moment of truth for them.
They piled in, strapping themselves into the makeshift, mismatched seats and then prayed that it would all go right.
"Wait!" Eddie cried out right before he was about to start it. "Frank needs a little good luck charm."
From around his neck he pulled his lucky guitar pick--one he caught as his first concert, the one that he'd worn for years--and he wound it around the rearview mirror.
"Alright boys," he breathed. "Here goes nothing."
They all held their breath as he turned the key in the ignition.
And with a vrooom Frank started with a purr.

- ̥۪͙۪˚┊❛ Obsession❜ (Christmas Special)┊˚ ̥۪͙۪◌
Premise: When someone doesn't know you exist is your sole source of comfort, things can't get a bit weird. In Christmas day things are better for everyone, including Geto Suguru.
Word Count: 2717
Note: Merry xmas everyone! 🫶🏻🎄☃️
══✿══╡°˖✧✿✧˖°╞══✿══
A wondering soul that feeds on human filth. That’s the way he would describe himself, especially on nights like this.
The night sky was murky, not a single star in the sky and it looked like it would snow any time now.
He’s had to swallow three curses today and the negative toll in his body could be noticed a mile away.
His thoughts had been very chaotic as of late and he barely even sleeps.
All he thinks about is how awful this world is and how it’d be better if curses didn’t exist, but not even the strongest sorcerer would be able to wipe them all clean, as more grow out of humans every day.
Humans must be the problem, why must they be so evil and hateful, why are they always so depressed and anxious? If they were sorcerers the world wouldn’t be this bad, is their fault for not being able to use curse energy but create it and let it out of control.
Useless, useless humans.
On his way back to the academy Suguru stopped by a cafe that looked like it was about to close.
He needed something bitter, something that would kill that disgusting taste out of his mouth.
The only worker left in said cafe was a girl that appeared to be about his age, probably a part-timer, even in the dark her beautiful rounded eyes and shining smile were a sight for sore eyes.
She took his order and headed to the back to prepare it herself as the rest of her coworkers had headed home for the night. When she came back with his order though, it wasn’t at all what he had ordered, “I’m sorry, I’m actually not a barista so making a hand dripped seasonal coffee isn’t in my skill set, but my parents say I’m very good at making hot chocolate and since it’s so cold outside today, I thought maybe what you needed was just something warm and sweet? Maybe I read the situation wrong but I hope you like it nonetheless, you don’t have to pay me or anything!” she had even done a cute snowman print on the top of the foam for his drink and he couldn’t help but smile.
A nice ending to such an awful day.
══✿══╡°˖✧✿✧˖°╞══✿══
There’s a reason why Suguru doesn’t sleep well, the nightmares hunt him, some aren’t even related to his life, the overconsumption of curses has been doing some damage in his mental stability and he is even afraid of his own shadow at times.
He still hates humanity, he’s this deranged all because of them.
All except that one sweet girl from the coffee shop down second avenue, she’s an angel.
He wished he at least knew her name, but he wasn’t proactive enough to even ask.
In nights like this, where his nightmares keep coming back over and over again doesn’t matter how many times he’d wake up in the middle of them, all that would ground him to reality was the thought of her smile.
He’d imagine him walking over from behind, surprising her with a soft warm hug. Wrap his scarf around the two of them so she wouldn’t be able to escape his love.
He’d imagine her making more of that hot chocolate that was oh so delicious and completely wiped out the taste of death from his mouth.
Even better, he’d imagine her kissing the hot chocolate into his mouth.
While he was not able to sleep even with such comforting thoughts, at least the nightmares would go away.
But this night in particular he just didn’t seem to be able to snap out of it, he’d talk to his pillow like it was you, holding it close to his body, sweet talking it to its death as it has now been reduced to mush and it’s in his trashcan after a wave of reality made him seen the pillow for what it was.
So next morning he was just not able to control himself anymore, he had to see her, he had to look into those beautiful eyes up close, even if it was for a second he needed to hear her lovely voice, sniff the same air that came out of her mouth while greeting customers, he needed to be in the same space as her, even if he didn’t dare to come closer.
He learned your name was (Y/N) after one of your coworkers yelled at you after spilling some coffee on the counter and burning a customer’s hand. He wanted nothing more than to burn his face with the same coffee just so he would scream in pain. How dare he yell at someone as precious as you? That scum, of course, he had to be human…
That day he also learned you don’t work there every day and that you’re in school too. You were reading some cards while there were no customers ordering, like a good girl. Such a lovely dedicated young woman, you had to be a saint for sure, a goddess probably.
And with an all time high, he left the shop without you even noticing he was there.
══✿══╡°˖✧✿✧˖°╞══✿══
In all truth, he thought seeing you for real once more would put an end to this tightness of his chest. He was fully conscious of how creepy he was being and how unreasonable it was to be feeling so many things for a complete stranger, but things were very difficult for him.
He was lonely, sad, stressed. A huge turmoil was building up inside of him as days went by and you were the only positive thing inside that mind of his.
Hence, he held into the thought of you so tightly that at some point he stopped having nightmares completely. All he would dream about was of that lovely face of yours and how you would live with him in this beautiful world without regular humans and curses.
But he forgot something crucial.
You were very much one of them, a human, nothing more.
And the realization of that hit him hard on the face when Friday came around, the day to drop by the cafe and creep on you without anybody noticing.
Just that this Friday was different.
A pesky curse was touching you in a nasty way, almost as if it was fondling you.
Of course you couldn’t see it, nor feel it really, but distress was clear on your face the entire time he was there.
He had to do something, he couldn’t allow that disgusting thing to keep its hands on his precious babe.
But what if eating said curse tasted like you?
A sudden need to get it into his array of curses rose in his chest sending him to spiral into a very unexpected ride that left him panting and whimpering on his seat, traumatizing a child that was sitting on a table close by.
He was creeping himself out at this point, but the thought of you was the only thing that kept him away from total insanity, and he needed to get that thing off of you, was the least he could do after all you’ve done for him, even if you had no clue of what that was.
But he didn’t know how to get it off without you noticing, he had to develop a plan quickly. And so he remained hidden on an alleyway close to the shop waiting for you to leave for the day.
Once you did, you looked miserable. Staying all day watching you like a hawk made him realize you weren’t the happy goddess he thought you were but a normal human. The same coworker that yelled at you last time kept harassing you all day and to make it worse someone called you in your break and he could hear you sobbing from where he was hidden. It was now clear to him that curse was actually coming out of you, it wasn’t something that got attached but rather created by you. An awful realization as he saw how not even his pure angel was free from the disgusting nature of human kind.
You were stressed and sad and that made this weak pesky curse to come out. He wanted to do more for you than just exterminating the flower of doom that blossomed from your distress, he knew that wouldn’t really make all that was bugging you to go away, but was all he could do. He couldn’t really just talk to you after all.
He had been so hooked up with the entire situation that he hadn’t noticed today was Christmas Day. Apparently to you that was a big thing and for the look on your face probably the plans had been cancelled earlier.
The curse noticed him following them and kept taunting him by touching you in a suggestive manner as if making fun of him, it was irritating to say the least but he couldn’t just send one of his big curses to chase it away, it could get you harmed and that’s the last thing he wants.
He had to get close and he didn’t know what to do.
Lost in his thoughts he didn’t realize you had stopped walking, making him bump onto your back. The drink you were holding, a Christmas present given to all employees at the cafe, falling into the snow. “Oh, I’m so sorry miss. Are you ok? I was just so distracted I didn’t see you there…” of course he saw you, he’s been following you for hours, but it wasn’t entirely a lie.
“It’s ok, don’t worry. I don’t even drink tea anyways…not like they would know that at my workplace, they don’t care enough for that…” the last part came out as nothing but a whisper but he heard it. He knows you’ve been struggling at work and most likely at home too, but of course he couldn’t really say anything about it.
“How about I buy you something you do like in exchange?”
“That’s not necessary really…today is Christmas Day I’m sure you have something better to do than buy a stranger a drink.” oh but there was nothing he’d rather do than to breathe the same air as you, this was already the best Christmas he’s ever had. Again, something he couldn’t tell you.
“Not really, I was going to go out with my school friends but they’re all busy so they cancelled it. Have nothing better to do. But if you do, I understand, I can give you the mon-“ you stopped his babbling before he continued, truth is, you were feeling very lonely and the thought of not going to your empty house this early was lovely. “I-I don’t…I don't have anything to do either…” your cheeks were tinging red and his liver was pounding in pain at your beauty, an odd feeling I may add.
“Then how about we go to that place over there? Seems designed for cute girls…I bet they have more than tea there.” his nonchalant attitude made his almost flirting banter so smooth it made you even more flustered so you just nodded and walked with him.
“You like chocolate right?” that startled you, was he some kind of stalker? He was, honestly, but you didn’t know that. The moment you saw his face it clicked in your head, that one customer that had to drink your hot cocoa just because you were too slow at closing that night.
“Oh! I knew you looked familiar! And yes, I do love chocolate.” your cute giggles were music to his ears, he was in love wasn’t he?
“Then lets go get some chocolate. Since that day I kinda became addicted to it too, you were right, you’re definitely a pro at making it.” being with him was making all the sadness and depressive thoughts from your head to go away in such an easy nonintrusive way it was amazing. Of course you had no idea you were doing even more than that for him by just existing in his own space.
“I’m glad you didn’t hate it…I was so nervous!”
His soft chuckles were so attractive, he was so attractive it was hard to think about how your boyfriend just broke up with you via phone call, on Christmas Day. This is just what you needed. “You should be proud, I’m a man that drinks bitter coffee all the time, and you turned me into a chocolover.” and your secret lover too, but that was better kept hidden for the time being.
The afternoon was fantastic after said encounter.
You went to that pink shop in the new district which was full with other high school girls giggling loudly. He got you a Christmas parfait which was hell more expensive than the stupid tea he dumped on the snow, but filled your heart with excitement.
Seeing you eating it like a child made his heart feel so full he almost forgot about killing the damn curse.
After a lovely stroll by the nearby park he took advantage of how cold you seemed to relive one of the many fantasies he had with you while also killing the curse at the same time, a win-win situation.
He took off half of his scarf and wrapped it around your neck, bringing you impossibly close to him, while you were all flustered and looking like a cute couple Christmas card, he was gathering the disgusting curse in his palm turning it into a little ball and saving it in his pocket. He did more than what he thought he was even allowed to dream of and all he could think about now was about kissing those soft rosy lips of yours. And by the look of you, you were thinking the very same thing. “You know…I was dumped today…I didn’t love him or anything so its fine…but don’t you think it might be you know like…” you sighed afraid of using the words that were hunting your thoughts. “Destiny?” his smug grin was making you shy again but he was right, that’s what you were thinking of, so you just nodded.
“Why were you dating him if you didn’t love him? If I may ask…” you two remained there by a decorated lamp post, wrapped in the warmth of his fuzzy scarf, nearly holding each other though not really touching just yet. “I was just lonely…”
His heart dropped, you were lonely just as he was. The realization that other people might be feeling similar to him, even if it was for different reasons, was oddly comforting.
“I can understand that feeling…But if you ask me, you’ll be better off without that bastard. Who makes a beautiful girl like you sad in Christmas day? I would smack him on the face if he was here..” he really did know how to make you smile, this was so comforting, for both of you, it was like your little heaven made out of snow and Christmas decorations.
“You’re too good to me, Geto-san…”
“Well you deserve that and more. That smile is way prettier than the frown you had when we met earlier. I would like to see it on your face again. If you’d like to see me again, that is…” he was crossing a line, one he couldn’t back off from. But it wasn’t like it was absolutely necessary for you to know he’s been secretly stalking you for weeks…right…?
“I slipped my phone number in the front pocket of your coat a couple of hours back…” and just like that, this year’s Christmas brought both of you a very unexpected gift.
The gift of hope, the gift of feeling understood and maybe, just maybe a bigger one, the gift of…true love.

SPECIAL THANKS: To @lovinglyeternal for sending this thot, which served as the inspiration for this drabble. To @joaquinwhorres, @wkndwlff, @sylviebell who all love MBB almost as much as I do.
A/N: I blacked out and wrote this in one sitting, then editing it took forever, and now it's way past my bedtime. So, enjoy this drabble, which is most likely crap.
“Sir?”
The sound of her smooth voice makes him turn around. She’s a vision. Poised, sophisticated, sexy. A deep frown decorates her face, and Bob wants nothing more than to smooth it out with his thumb.
“You shouldn’t be here.”
It’s well past midnight and everyone in the building, save for him, has gone home to start their weekend. That includes Abby, yet she stands in the doorway to his office looking concerned.
She takes a few steps forward, her black heels clicking on the floor as she does. His eyes drop down, and he has to bite the inside of his cheek to ground himself and keep visions of her in all kinds of compromising positions at bay.
“I wanted to finish up some paperwork,” she tells him.
She takes another step forward, but Bob holds up a hand to keep her back. He doesn’t want her to see him like this. Exhausted and bruised, a little ashamed that he had to resort to violence to solve a simple issue.
Her eyes zero in on his raised hand before gliding down to his other that rests on the desk he’s half-sitting, half-leaning on.
“You’re hurt.”
He shakes his head, willing her concern to go away. “It’s nothing,” he insists.
Abby doesn’t say a word as she turns around and leaves his office, making him breathe a sigh of relief. He’s not sure why, but he wants to keep her away from his world as best as he can. He wants her to stay innocent and hopeful, untouched by the dangers of his life.
He wants that almost as much as he wants her.
He stands, walking to the small table next to the couch where he keeps his liquor. Pouring himself a glass of bourbon, he relishes in the burning feeling of alcohol in his throat. It’s a welcome sensation.
The sound of heels clacking on wooden floors draws his attention back up, and Abby walks into his office with a small red and white box in her hands.
“I thought I told you to g–”
“Sit down,” she interrupts. His hand freezes mid-air, and he tilts his head to the side with narrowed eyes. It’s a command given in the last tone he expected her to take with him.
He places the half empty glass of bourbon on the side table and walks back to the desk where he perches on the edge.
Abby walks up to him, placing the box that he now recognizes as a first aid kit on the desk next to him. He spreads his legs further, allowing her to stand between them.
She unwraps an antiseptic wipe and puts her hand out for him to place his own into. He hesitates, knows he’s playing a dangerous game by letting her see him like this. Abby, however, grows impatient and all but yanks his hand towards her.
When the wipe touches the open cuts on his knuckles, he can’t help the hiss that escapes his throat. He’s been here a thousand times before, but it still surprises him how much the alcohol stings.
He peers down at Abby, who’s concentrating on gently wiping at the wounds. Her dark lashes fall like blankets against her rounded cheeks, and a stray hair has untucked itself from her ponytail.
He watches her examine his hand before she places it back down on his thigh. She discards the wipe in the nearby trashcan and reaches for another.
She unwraps and takes his other hand in hers. “What happened?” She asks and meets his gaze for the first time since she got to work putting him back together.
He stays quiet, figures it’s for the best. He doesn’t want her to see him as someone who chooses a fight because not doing so is one reason he’s so good at what he does. He can keep his emotions in check. Usually.
She huffs out a small laugh. “Fine, don’t tell me,” she relents. “But don’t expect me to clean you up next time.”
A grin spreads across his face of its own volition. “Think there’ll be a next time?”
Her hands still in his, and when she looks up at him, it’s not the timid woman he’s grown used to. Her eyes are hard and unamused.
Her attention goes back to his knuckles, where she does a final few swipes across the angry skin. “There,” she says, and let’s go of his hand.
She discards the second wipe in the trash and moves to step back, but Bob reaches out for her. He touches her hip lightly, not wanting to startle her.
She looks down at where his hand rests on her hip, only to look back up at his face with a bewildered expression.
She doesn’t flinch, though, and lets herself come to him when he pulls at her hip. She fits between his legs perfectly and the scent of her perfume makes his head spin.
He’s never been as affected by someone as he is by Abby. She’s intoxicating.
Her breath hitches when his other hand travels up the curves of her body, landing on her jaw, so his fingertips touch the nape of her neck.
She holds his gaze, intense fire burning in those dark eyes. Her cheeks flush and turn warm under his palm, and he knows he has this effect on her. He wonders if she knows what she’s doing to him.
Tension hangs in the air, thick and palpable, when Bob leans down and places his mouth over Abby’s. She goes completely still for a moment, but then, right as he goes to pull away, not wanting to make her uncomfortable, she gasps against his lips and kisses him back.
He uses the hand on her hip to pull her closer, pressing harder against her mouth, letting his tongue run along the seam of her lips. She opens up without hesitation, and Bob groans into her mouth when her hand comes up and tugs on his hair.
It’s hungry and messy, the sounds of moans and shaking pen cups filling the quiet office. Bob wraps his arms around her waist, spinning them around so she’s the one on his desk.
He presses himself flush against her, not bothered to hide the bulge in his pants. She gasps again when he slots a leg between hers and it brushes against her clothed core. He wants nothing more than to keep drawing that sound out of her, to make her a whimpering mess under him.
One of his hands travels down to her leg and he hikes it up over his hip, but it’s the wrong thing to do. She pushes him off her, and Bob stumbles back slightly. Her hand raises up and covers her mouth, shock filling her eyes.
Bob steps back further to give her space and watches as her fingers tremble against her mouth. Something inside him breaks at the sight.
He opens his mouth to apologize. For craving her so much that he could no longer control himself. To beg forgiveness, but Abby beats him to it.
“I should go,” she mutters, standing up and straightening out her dress.
He nods as she gathers up the first aid kit, and as she passes him on her way towards the door, he lightly grabs her elbow.
She stops, eyes darting down to his hand before returning to his face.
“I overstepped,” he says. “I’m so–”
The apology dies in his throat as Abby’s lips connect with his once again in a kiss that makes his head flood with desire and confusion.
She pulls away. “Goodnight, sir,” she says and walks out of his office, leaving Bob to his thoughts and a semi he’ll have to take care of himself.
It’s not until the sound of heels clacking on the floor fades that he snaps out of his stupor. He chuckles to himself, walking back to his long-forgotten glass of bourbon and downs the rest of its contents in one go.
likes are nice, but comments and reblogs are motivating
