I just have to say that it's so weird reading how transphobes think of trans bodies as mutilated and gross when they never would have thought my body pre-transition was worthy. The "argument" of mutilated beauty that transphobes have tossed around is just a fear mongering tactic, because they don't tend to actually love or appreciate and see value in bodies that don't "neatly" fit into male and female, with no overlap and no nuances.

not pitting sincaraz against each other just pointing out an objective truth that jannik was not a dominate player/potential grand slam winner last season (age 21/22) and carlos will finish this season semi-dominant and with two more grand slams (+ an olympic medal) (age 20/21). you can see how quickly a player's career can turn around within one season. so any talk about carlos being washed/playing badly sounds silly to me i can't lie. yes carlos wasn't as successful this year as last year. yes carlos wasn't as successful this year as jannik. last year jannik's highlights were throwing up in a trash can and beating djoko in davis cup (exaggerating.) so i really feel like carlos's struggles this season are slightly overinflated. we talk about "he has time he has time" let's be clear not only does he have time in his career (he is literally 21) he also has time on his closest current rival (age-wise, carlos's 2024 season is jannik's 2022 season). it will be two years before carlos is even the same age as jannik is now. so like. lets be chill here u know.
#carlos is a wonderkid! a starboy! he's also just a kid and a boy#i feel like people talk about him having time in his career so often and its true but it also always makes me think like#he's already so far ahead for his age#he's been going through rough patches but in truth i still consider him more successful than jannik#'better player' <- different discussion#but more successful in my mind#i think people just see jannik's dominance this year and assume that's where carlos should be because he's already gotten so much success#and they forget that carlos is still in the infancy of his career#an infancy that i think jannik has only *just* grown out of in a purely temporal sense#i do think the next two or three seasons will determine a lot about both of their careers#but for carlos i think it has much more to do with moderation than performance#i.e. can he put his head down and focus more on improving his game than on bare results#if he listens to the way fans squawk about his 'poor performance' im worried he'll just keep trying harder#that he'll play more events that he'll be less cautious/strategic etc#my biggest fear is him breaking his body or mind before age 25#but i think as long as he gets through the next few seasons without giving in too much to the pressure of winning every slam/tournament....#he'll be okay guys. he really will

the progression of events in this arc is so so good and great and i love how you can just clearly see where and how each characters thoughts begin and progress throughout each chapter as it goes on. while steven was probably set in stone about his view on how to handle the situation i earnestly believe zed and zapp set out to disobey steven's request. and then they make it very easy to understand leo's point of view and why hes doing what he is - its why they show us that flashback and don't tell anyone else, and why he speaks very little after zapp threatens him - and then immediately cuts to klaus, who knows absolutely nothing about the situation currently but he can figure it out just by looking at whats in front of him. and because klaus is so unflinching when it comes to upholding what he believes is morally right he does so without anyone needing to tell him whats going on. he sees this percieved 'monster' protecting someone else and immediately goes to protect it, too. and even though a lot of them disagreed with each other at the beginning there is still the scene afterwards where they all come together to try and catch each other when they begin falling. i think nightow should pay me for what its done to my mental health

ORDER SOL STORY?! (Positive)
YES! Well, it's kind of a frame story of a flashback scene where modern day Sol and Ky reminisce about the Holy Order, but HOS IS STILL IN IT YIPPEE
I don't think I've said on here yet, but there are 3 short stories total in the new Xrd Series Official Artworks book (or "Xrd Material Collection" if you read the Japanese title). There's the one for Sol and Ky, then one that I think covers Chipp and Answer's first meeting (from Answer's perspective), and then something with Elphelt and Jam. The El and Jam story is an enigma to me. I got news of there being an Answer story first (HYPE) and then the Order Sol story (SUPER HYPE!!) and then by the time I heard there was one with Elphelt it was totally eclipsed by new Order Sol content in 2024 rofl So I apologize for not having more to offer with that one.
Each one has an illustration too. I don't have a picture of the table of contents or copyright info yet, but I'm about 90% certain this is a Daisuke original. Painfully teasing you with a closeup HOS crop
Daisuke's the only one that ever gives him lips and a slightly upturned nose so that's mostly what I'm basing this being drawn by him on lol
I have no idea who wrote the stories in this yet either. The Overture Material Collection stories were contracted out by two authors that haven't done anything for GG since. It might be the same for the Xrd SOA too

just randomly remembered that during my like 10+ attempts at the shadow yukiko fight i more or less consistently ran out of revival beads so yosuke was just dead (well unconscious but whatever) on the ground for like half the fight gfhfjvhfhfhd-
