like, of course he is. of course he is. i already knew that and i think a lot of other people do too, whether they've read this or not. but also, the perception of him in-universe and also in a lot of the fandom is that he's an idiot, and he's just... not.

he's smart, but not in a way people want. he's smart, but not socially. he's smart, but only in ways that benefit his interests--his love of monsters, his ability to fight them, the things that will save his life and the lives of those he loves. laios is intelligent, but only if you judge him for himself rather than compare him to society at large, to what people think of when they think "smart."

If you were to ask who the best doctor in the country was, you’d undoubtedly be told that it is Dr. Asher Peyton. A brilliant mind with brilliant physical prowess simply cannot be beat. However, unfortunately, Dr. Asher Peyton is… a commoner. He’d been lucky enough to be granted the humble title of Baron due to his abilities, but it’s quite difficult for nobles to rid themselves of their prejudice about his lowly birth status. 

It’s truly ridiculous, Dr. Peyton thinks – if he cut those pesky nobles open, it’ll be quite clear that they bleed red just like he does. Societal status means little in the face of illness and death.

Despite his disdain for nobility, he has no choice but to act like an obedient dog for them. It’s the only way he’ll be able to continue being a doctor, after all. He has no choice, really, but to put on his charming smile and speak with his silver tongue.

Dr. Peyton had resigned to his unfortunate fate of being the nobility’s lapdog for the rest of his life, unable to see any way to claw out from the trenches of his low social status. However, somehow, you had managed to reach out and pull him out of his wretched fate.

You are the heir of the Arrington Estate, a ducal house that has been a long-standing ally of the king. You’re the last person Dr. Peyton had expected to reach out, but he’s very grateful you did. You saw beyond his status as a commoner, instead granting him the privilege of being the Arrington’s personal doctor. In fact, you even gave him a room just so that he could conduct his experiments! That’s a privilege he never thought he’d get. And you did this all in spite of your Father’s disagreements.

So, when the Head Butler of the Arrington Estate, Geoffrey Cullen, had offered Dr. Peyton a way to repay you by ensuring that you’ll be the head of the Arrington Estate, of course Dr. Peyton agreed! While Dr. Peyton would prefer to have you all to himself, he knows that that isn’t possible currently – not in this current society, anyway. But at least he can be by your side, supporting you and protecting you. 

Dr. Peyton’s never been afraid to get his hands dirty. He’s had to get his hands dirty over and over again – it’s the only way he’d been able to survive thus far. So when your Father begins to grow ill due to his poisoned tea, Dr. Peyton finds it quite easy to diagnose your Father with some disease while completely ignoring any signs of poisoning. It isn’t as if anyone will be able to doubt him as long as he keeps the illusion that he’s doing everything he can to cure your Father. How fortunate, isn't it?

As Dr. Peyton mixes another dose of poison for Geoffrey to use, he can’t help but hum a little tune to himself, a smile on his face. Yes, Dr. Peyton has never been afraid of getting his hands dirty. And for you?

Oh, he’d dye his hands in the blood of your enemies over and over again.

Barty Crouch Jr. is a smart motherfucker ok? He reads scientific papers for FUN, he’s full of random knowledge about even more random topics and he’s always looking for more weird and interesting information on whatever pops up into his mind, he devours books to the point he’s out of stuff to read by the third year and has to break into the restricted section regularly. He probably has a photographic memory. He’s definitely a mastermind at getting information from and out of people, and he WILL use everything he knows against you. He’s an intellectual and a little shit abt it.

Headcanon that Leo really loved to give his family massages growing up. We know that he’s good at them from the episode “You Got Served” and we know he likes spas and relaxation and getting massages himself from when he tried to get these in “Bad Hair Day” and from when Donnie made a tennis ball massage machine in “Smart Lair.”

So I think it’d be cute to think that maybe one day Leo overheard Splinter complaining about a bad back and immediately Leo thinks back to a comic or movie or something he saw where a massage helped so he offers to give one and it actually ends up helping Splinter.

Then April swings by the Lair at a later time and mentions her back hurting because of her backpack from school and Leo’s all like “I gotcha!”

From there, he occasionally manages to convince Donnie to sit for one because Donnie’s shrimp posture does not help him any (Leo pokes fun at how sandpaper-y Donnie’s shell is despite knowing it’s always like that and Donnie smacks him for it.) Donnie usually prefers hand massages instead however as all his typing and inventing adds up over time, and shoulder massages too once he starts wearing his battle shells more. Leo also figures out how to give massages to Raph and Mikey’s shells as well, though it’s a struggle at first to not scratch his hands on Raph’s spikes.

I think since Leo has such bad luck with spas and the like, he tries giving himself massages (though it’s not as helpful.) Like, with how his abilities work his legs are probably always aching from his portal jumping and one foot landings, so maybe he branches past back massages out of a need to help his own aches too. (Though he really wants a shell massage himself, the same way he’d give them…the one time with Donnie’s tennis ball massage machine was but a short moment of what Leo’s been missing out on and what he’ll continue missing out on…)

I don’t know, I just think it’d be cute to think Leo could have honed his massaging skill this way in order to help out his family (and also partially because he wants a massage himself.)

it’s weird when people act like mori would regularly torture dazai and/or chuuya for funsies. even ignoring that he does hold some affection for them why would he risk losing two of his strongest subordinates like that? why would he send them on missions while they’re injured??

dazai was clearly fine interacting with mori until the whole oda thing went down. and we know dazai is very clear about him being the only one allowed to make chuuyas life more difficult than it needs to be so he wouldn’t just stand by and watch if this ever happened

also how would you even explain that chuuya is perfectly happy hanging out with mori? he’s clearly not expecting any harm and y’all can’t tell me that chuuya "that’s more than a light wound" nakahara would ever happily spend his time with mori if he ever did actually torture dazai

Initial drawings of that old man… I literally, I haven’t finished reading the book of bill yet!!! I had to stop and take a break for a week to feverishly draw fanart of myself petting fords floofy hair and giving him attention and shit…!!!! The urge was too great….!! I’ve literally. I had a crush on this guy the instant he was first REVEALED in the show, but I did not have the artistic prowess to draw good looking old men back then… but I do now… thank god… thank fucking god
