behold! a kakaobi painting from literally months ago!
#I wanna draw more obighost#very fun#but also it kills me sometimes to think about how devastating it was for little kks to deal with growing older while obito never got to#and especially when he reaches the age obito was when he died....#I imagine this is placed on that birthday#I dunno...#think I was thinking about the idea of Obito slipping through Kakashi's fingers#he's aging and feeling as he leaves Obito behind#He fell in love with Obito and Obito died before he got to be anything more than a child#and now it's really sinking in that Obito's /gone/#and he's never going to get older#Dead kids don't age#nurt#yeah I just think this would utterly break Kks again#as a bonus to everything else ofc!!#kakaobi#Not to mention by this point it's both Kakashi's teammates that will never grow old...#hatake kakashi#uchiha obito#obikaka fanart#chearts

“Sarada is the first Uchiha that awoke her MS out of a sense of pure love, unlike the rest of them that were rooted in hatred –she’s the first one to break the “Hatred Cycle” of the clan.”
*sighs* Listen, there’s nothing I’d like more than to leave Boruto and all of its byproducts behind for good, yet over and over again the rabid anti-Sasuke fandom comes back to trash on the original characters of the show for the sole purpose of chanting “old Uchiha bad, new Uchiha good” around a barely lit pit fire.
Allow me to quickly break this notion, as it doesn’t need much more inspection than a faint passing of our eyes through the original series to debunk it.
After hearing Naruto is sealed away alongside Hinata and everyone blames Boruto, Sarada starts crying and, in desperation, asks her dad to “help Boruto”, awakening her Mangekyou Sharingan.
[Contrary to what I initially believed as I thought she might be asking for help as she couldn’t move, she’s not injured, she appears to be (at most) in shock due to everything that Boruto has to face, so, in case you’re one of those Naruto fans that are used to have pretty plot-relevant, emotional moments after the initial awakening of an Uchiha’s MS, let me tell you: That’s not happening, at all.]
Regardless of the minuscule and for real, for real, not sarcastic at all, very-well thought and constructed attempt to empower a character whose relevance to the main plot lies in the fact that she is the only daughter of Boruto's mentor, many stans of the child saw this opportunity to trash on Sasuke’s power as an Uchiha (you know, the reincarnation of Indra itself), and to justify such an awakening of one of the most powerful forms of the Sharingan under the premise that “it’s a different type of awakening because it’s linked to love, not hatred.”
So, in order to fact-check such affirmation, let’s see how other characters achieved the Mangekyou:
Sasuke:
Sasuke awakes his MS originally from learning the truth behind his family’s genocide; before this (and I mean, chapters before this, as his MS is dedicated a total of three chapters) Obito explained that the Uchiha were planning a coup and that Itachi, to protect Konoha and his brother, committed the annihilation of his entire kin following the government’s orders. We see him crying before a new resolution is reached: destroy Konoha. His MS awakes due to his pain which turns to complete anger.
However, you wouldn’t believe how Sasuke has conscious access to both Mangekyou:
That’s right folks, he has conscious access over his right MS by thinking of those he wants to protect, Team Taka and Team 7. So this “hatred” cycle that powers up his Sharingan is fuelled by one thing and one thing only: love.
Furthermore,
Sasuke got conscious access over his left MS technique when trying to save Karin, as she’s a very dear comrade of his. Something similar happened when he awakened his Sharingan versus when he got conscious access to it when trying to save Naruto.
[Sasuke awoke the Sharingan when he was eight years old, so the idea that “haha, Sarada awoke her MS when she was younger than him so she’s better!” is stupid as he awoke it when he was at least four years younger when facing the genocide of his people, unlike her that got it from daddy issues. In fact, awakening MS or the Sharingan before or after has nothing to do with the person's capacity as a ninja as it solely depends on the traumatic events that said person experiences. It's safer to say that her emotional threshold is significantly lower than her father's given the "peaceful" times in which she grew up than to claim a "superiority" based upon the age they both experienced traumatically enough events to influence their chakra and develop or evolve their doujutsu.]
Obito:
Obito, somewhat similar to Sasuke (and this is due to their feelings, as they’re heartbroken and such pain triggers their raw hate), awakes his MS when he sees the girl he loves get killed by the boy he started to consider a friend when he was twelve/thirteen years old. His feelings are so strongly connected to his Sharingan that they also evolve the doujutsu that Kakashi possesses.
However, there’s a striking difference between how Obito awakened his Sharingan (basic form) and how Sasuke or even Sarada did as he achieved such power when trying to save his comrades.
[Sasuke awoke the Sharingan due to the pain he felt when seeing his parents get killed by his brother, which turned into hatred when Itachi "explained" his reasons. Meanwhile, Sarada got her Sharingans due to the pain she felt when her father didn't recognize her, which turned into fear when he threatened to kill her.]
Obito’s Sharingan was completely awakened by a sense of protectiveness over those dear to him, in other words, love.
Every single Sharingan or evolution of the same doujutsu is driven by the same emotion. From there, it either derivates to different states (pain, hate, grief, and so on), or it doesn’t, but no Uchiha can access either form without feeling a strong positive connection with someone or something they are trying to protect.
P.S: Unrelated, but look how pretty Kishimoto's art is compared to Ikemoto's (who also sexualizes minors constantly, as this is the cover of the newest volume), Sasuke looks so ugly and Sarada's MS is the most awful thing I've ever seen. No wonder the manga is flopping. Yikes.
Edit to add: It’s devastatingly hilarious how the whole point of Sarada’s Mangekyou wasn’t even about her; nor her power, nor the relevance of her bonds, it was about making a powerful enough moment for Sasuke to believe her and help Boruto! Everything becomes, yet again, about Sasuke.

Concept: the senjuchiha feud was started when the Uchiha blamed the Senju and their mokuton for a new disease that started afflicting Uchiha, yet never spread outside their clan- a disease where flowers started growing in the lungs of someone in love, and never stopped until the one they loved kissed them on the lips.
Many years later, Konoha jounin Obito starts coughing up flowers...
Anyways the real concept for this fic idea is Obito starts coughing up flower petals, is in denial for the first few moments and thinks "Rin? I got over my crush ages ago..." and so to test, he thinks about kissing Rin, and keeps breathing normally. Then, his mind wanders over to when he was a genin, taping over a picture of Kakashi because he felt weird pretending to kiss Rin with Kakashi staring at him- and he starts coughing. (Obito internally: that's what I thought you'd say you dumb fucking flowers.)
And like! if it was Rin then he could summon up his courage to ask for a healing kiss, probably, because at the very least Rin is a medic and if he just made it seem like a version of cpr Uchiha need sometimes then he could probably get away with minimal awkwardness, but Kakashi?? yeah Kakashi and him are friends now but Obito doubts Kakashi'd be willing to kiss him, and if Obito's gonna die anyway then there's No Reason To Tell Kakashi His Feelings.
But the hanahaki reaches late stages (ie: coughing up whole flowers) and Obito is clearly very sick, but Obito is saying it's just an Uchiha Thing, don't worry about it, Obito's dealing with it, so while Rin is trying to help Obito, Kakashi barges into Kushina and Mikoto's tea party and asks Mikoto bluntly if coughing up flowers is really an Uchiha thing and if so how do they fix it-
Mikoto's eyebrows rise, but she is willing to overlook Kakashi's rudeness under the circumstances. "Normally, I would not share clan secrets, especially not to such a rude request, but since it's obviously about Obito... Yes, some Uchiha get it when they're in love. The only cure is for the one they love to kiss them on the lips." Kakashi nods, murmurs a cowed "Thank you Mikoto-san, Sorry for interrupting Kushina-san" at Kushina's glare, and leaves to head back to Obito. Clearly, if his idiot teammate isn't going to say anything, then Kakashi will just have to take matters into his own hands and tell Rin himself that Obito needs her to kiss him!
So when Kakashi gets back, he says Mikoto-san told him what's going on with Obito and what the cure is- Rin needs to kiss Obito! Obito flushes and mutters between coughs that it wouldn't work, and there's a back and forth of insults as Kakashi agitatedly asks why Obito won't try it, which is broken up when Rin says that if it's not contagious she might as well try. So Rin and Obito kiss! and they break away to stare into each other's eyes... and Obito turns away to cough up more flowers.
Obito can't say "I told you it wouldn't work" but he sure is radiating the sentiment, Rin sighs sadly and says it was worth a shot, and Kakashi...
Kakashi is honestly not having a good time of it. Obito is one of his most precious people, somehow, and now he is sick and dying and Kakashi is strongly in the anger stage of grief right now. so when the cure doesn't work, obviously Rin did something wrong!!
...Which Kakashi says out loud. He doesn't know what Rin did wrong, but it must have been something, so try again! and when Rin and Obito shake their heads, Kakashi's anger and frustration and grief and need to do something boils over .
So he says "Then I'll do it myself!", pulls down his mask, and shoves his face against Obito's to give him an emotional kiss.
It's... honestly not the best kiss. Very wet, very forceful, and Obito wasn't expecting it at all- but he can sense the emotion behind it, and his face and heart feel warm... and so do his lungs, actually-
Obito shoves Kakashi off of him and turns his head away from everyone, and Kakashi just knows that it didn't work- but instead of coughing up flowers, Obito breathes out flame... and then doubles over to wheeze out the remaining soot, but his lungs are noticeably clearer instead of the wet and full coughs from the flowers.
When he's finished, Rin silently passes Obito some more tea, and as he sips at it, Kakashi turns to her and says "I told you you were doing it wrong."
#kakaobi#kakashi hatake#obito uchiha#rin nohara#naruto#obikaka#Kakashi: Geez Obito if you had just confessed to Rin in the first place we wouldn't have had to deal with all this!#Obito: facepalming#Rin: Obito I am sorry to say that you fell in love with a moron.

I really love that u include things about Takaras life here in our world and well it got me thinking how the heck would the akatsuki survive school in ur perspective, it can be anything really, u can even include Takara. I REALLY love her as a character
I need to be honest with you, and I'll try to put this in the most lighthearted way possible: I fucking hated school. Absolute nightmare, 0/10 would not do again. Makes my pulse race just thinking about it. I learn about socially uncomfortable things for fun and to this day nothing makes me stand up and leave the room faster than a scene where you can smell the school bullying around the corner. The concept of "school" in media is my white whale, my blight, my curse, my ultimate challenge, and it does NOT matter how trivial and comedic the actual scene is.
So my view of school is, perhaps, skewed compared to how other people think about it.
That being said, I'm going to do my best to shove all that into the locker now that this exposition is out of the way. Let's talk about fun school AU ideas!
The "Akatsuki" is a group of kids, let's think maybe towards the younger side, elementary school. They have little in common besides how one at a time, they all become outcasts and join in as a result.
The original Akatsuki are, of course, Nagato, Konan, and Yahiko, who along with being friends, became dedicated to an idea of justice and fairness. Yahiko moved to another school, which fundamentally changed the vibe. Nagato and Konan, though still great friends, are both inherently very quiet and introverted, Yahiko being the one that spoke for them all; Nagato promised himself he'd learn how to be a good leader like Yahiko was.
Obito, deeply lonely having just moved *in* to the school, begins to hang around, inserting himself more and more, giving his opinions and creating "plans" with them, such as where they should build their new base. Zetsu joins much the same way, merely being around, but seems more like he's watching than participating.
Hidan is a homeschooled kid that has a fence bordering on the playground of the school. He peeks his head over the top and asks the nerds what they're doing, climbing over the barrier and sticking his nose in their business before they can say no.
Kisame and Itachi are already friends, best friends actually. Other kids told them it's weird for two boys so different to be so close, and after getting in one too many fights are sequestered on the side of the playground where their opponents are not. Itachi takes interest in the group, so Kisame is along for the ride.
Kakuzu is the kid that legitimately has anger management issues. He's a very bright kid but typically is not allowed to be with others his age unsupervised, as his temper is heavy and always feels justified. He's brought under the watchful eye of teacher assistants to the playground, so that he can implement his social strategies for better behavior, and for god knows what reason attached to the group of outcasts. Honestly, for the best.
Deidara forcibly joins in because he thinks he can make them into what is, more or less, his personal fan club, being one of the two "art kids" with recognized and praised talent. Upon getting the cold shoulder, he sticks around, thinking it as a challenge. Secretly, however, he has no close friends; that's why he stays.
Sasori is in a similar way as Kakuzu, but in a manner less socially obtrusive. He's quiet, with a near constant steeled expression (see: autistic) and a great level of detail. It's less that he joins and more that the Akatsuki begin to merge around him, little by little, as the intrigue about a supposedly genius boy who doesn't talk to anyone but adults greatens.
The adventure begins when after this group is together and established, they find a lost girl in the woods behind the playground, scraped up and crying. She's so shy she can't stop shaking, not enough to say her name, so they call her Takara. Little by little, as she begins to be able to talk, she does not object to this being her name. She is regularly seen being held by the hand and looking down at her shoes. She "got lost" walking from the school to the playground-- hence her being in the woods-- and is constantly worried about being lost again and left behind. She doesn't say much, but she's always included. She is a student that is transitioning from private parochial school to public school.

Hello darling ☺️ I have this question imagine if there is no Uchiha massacre and Reiko was raised among her parents and brother how her life would be and if her and itachi will still be together and is their chemistry will be the same or will be something different also what about izumi I know it's a bit long but I love your writing and I couldn't help imagine but having questions if Reiko was raised in a different way lots of love 💖
Hi lovely, thank you so much <3 It's such an interesting ask, I honestly think it could make a story, but I will try to list a few changes. And there's A LOT. So bear with me as I sort through my thoughts (and fail miserably).
Itachi and Reiko would go to the Academy together. Minato, as the Hokage, would push for the minimum graduation age to be ten years old, because children younger than that should not be sent to fight (this is a Third Hokage diss account and I do not care). Itachi gets to have a childhood, and even though he is too good for the Academy, he hangs out with Shisui after school and Izumi and Reiko at the Academy.
He sees Reiko quite often, because Mikoto and Kushina are best friends. He thinks she's very loud and enthusiastic, and he would like to be friends with her, but he's too shy to ask her and she's a bit too hotheaded. He's scared she'll tease him. She wonders why he's always staring at her with a blank expression and thinks he's a know-it-all nerd who thinks she's weak or stupid. She chooses him as her rival because why not, Uchiha and Uzumaki do be like that
She'd be a lot stronger. Minato and Kushina training her means she gets to hone her techniques early in life. Despite that, she's bored at the Academy and gets distracted easily, so the theory isn't her forte. She gets scolded often for being fidgety, not listening, forgetting her homework. Itachi offers to help her, but she's too stubborn to accept. Itachi, the poor soul, is hurt :(
They graduate together at ten and get put in the same team. She thinks he's a show off and regularly challenges him to fights (he wins, because he's Uchiha mf Itachi, but she puts up a good fight)
The village doesn't treat her and Naruto very nicely behind Minato’s back, due to their jinchuriki status (Minato and Kushina managed to survive the night of the Kyuubi attack and she sealed the Kyuubi with her fuinjutsu), and Itachi sees it and feels very strongly about the unfairness of it. He tries to talk to her about it, and Reiko is very surprised he would even notice
Itachi likes how protective she is of her little brother, it reminds him of himself. Naruto and Reiko have a great relationship, they're the village clowns basically, always pranking their parents and training together.
Their teammate ends up getting killed by Obito and Itachi awakens his sharingan
Itachi and Reiko tend to have a bumpy relationship, they are best friends but they bicker quite a lot. She's very competitive, but also they can just sit and talk for hours
Itachi joins the ANBU when he's fifteen, and they see each other less and less. Izumi also joins the ANBU, and they get together. When Izumi ends up dying on a mission when they're 18, Itachi awakens the Mangekyo. He's crushed and ends up spiralling into depression. He leaves the ANBU.
Reiko gets paired with him one day on a mission, and she sees how much different he's become. She tries to stay close to him, not wanting him to be alone or fall into hatred and depression
He's grateful for her presence, but he can't get himself to get closer to someone else, he's terrified of losing anyone else
But Reiko has a way of being stubborn and she keeps checking up on him, trying to lift his mood and be there for him
She starts to have feelings for him, but she keeps them to herself, scared of being rejected or that he might distance himself and then he'd end up falling back into his depression
In the end, Itachi can't help falling for her, and although he's terrified, he knows she's strong and he vows he will protect her with his life
That's all that comes to mind at the moment, don't hesitate to drop asks! :))

Age swap au where Obito leaves the village shortly after the Chunin exam’s because he’s frustrated and feeling left behind, but also because he’s starting to feel like the village wants nothing to do with him.
His clan is gone
His friends seem to be moving forward without him
Everywhere he looks he feels like he’s being watched (he is. By Orochimaru’s Root operatives)
Boy hasn’t slept properly in weeks and it feels like his Sensei doesn’t understand or care, so when some of Danzo’s flunkies show up promising that Danzo will help him grow stronger he takes the offer without hesitation

Holy shit! HI!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TORSHIP!! You’re an amazing writer and an even BETTER person. You’re so fucking creative because HELLO??? *POINTS AT YOUR AO3* I feel bad if i don't do anything for your birthday so here's a few drabbles (more like rough drafts… www) of shisui!! (some ideas maybe taken from your asks lol)
O1・Drawing, oh and shisui & obito r brothers
“Ne ne, Obito-nii?” Shisui tugged his older brother’s shirt, “What are you doing?” the scribbling sound stopped– Obito looked towards his younger brother; He was crouching, both his knees apart while his hands held each of his knees. “I’m drawing, wanna take a look?” Obito replied with a smile.
Shisui made a “waah~!” sound as he nodded, Obito shifted his knees as Shisui got a closer look– “Uhm,” He squinted at… something, “What is that?” Shisui pointed at it. Obito furrowed his eyebrows as he looked towards what Shisui was pointing at. “Where are you pointing…?” Obito asks– Shisui blinked rapidly, “What do you mean ‘where am I pointing’?!” Shisui said agasp, his hands covering his mouth.
“What do you mean ‘what do you mean’!” Obito’s lips pressed together, “Nevermind…” Shisui grumbled as got back up. “Hey– Wait!” Obito shouted towards his younger brother.
O2・Time loop – kinda AU of ur AU (Not really)
Oh my god. I can’t take this fucking shit anymore. Everytime I die I return to this date and I don’t think I can take it anymore. The last loop was going so well aswell! 5 whole months! I was so close! Now we gotta do that AGAIN. I just wanna slit his throat out. I’m getting so impatient you don’t even understand.
Why why WHY? I can’t understand why I'm looping currently. Maybe I’ve been focusing on the wrong thing– I have all of the time in the world don’t I? … Wait, do I leave timelines behind me when I die? … Let’s not think about that. Goodbye journal! I’ll be writing in you tomorrow about all of the stuff and info about the last loop because I’m too high out of my mind to be thinking about that right now.
O3・idk missing nin shisui sounds cool so
Shisui grips at the piece of sheet he’s holding. His breathing was labored– “Are you sure this is the best decision?” Shisui mumbled, “Couldn’t we just… use my eyes on th–” Slam!
“That was a temporary decision. It’s either you kill the whole entire clan and–” Danzo waved the cane around, “–spare Uchiha Itachi and Uchiha Sasuke or–” Danzo’s eyes pierced into Shisui’s skull. “–I get your little companion to do it.” Shisui’s eyes grew dull. “... Fine, Danzo-sama.” Shisui got up from where he was sitting and walked towards the exit.
His footsteps stopped– He took a deep breath, “This’ll be the last thing I’ll do for Konoha,” Shisui hissed. “Hmph. Watch your tongue, boy.” Danzo rebuked before Shisui walked towards the exit again.
Extra ideas:
Deja Vu by Uki Violeta with Uchiha Shisui
Golden Age by Rin Penrose with Kakashi/Shisui + Royalty AU
Modern AU where Shisui is in a band with the rest of squad 2– he’s an singer + a guitarist (maybe a bassist?)
SVSSS but Shisui
Okay that’s all i’ve spent an hour writing all of these lol (I need to start writing faster~)
- N
Hey N-anon! Thank you so much, you're so lovely and sweet ❤️❤️❤️ I hope you also have a great day/night~
These are so fun! (Especially the angst haha) ObiShi bros are such cuties and I recognise these AUs (the spirit of the thought at least) haha! Thank you, I'm charmed 😅✨ Ooooh, a band AU is such a vibe!!! I really appreciate the time you've taken to write this out, wow!
Thanks for being such a gem, N-anon ❤️

MINORS DO NOT INTERACT!
notes! — another one of my impulsive ideas that i got while listening to music LOL i hope you guys enjoy this a lil fun idea to write! i apologize if these aren’t accurate or ooc! i tried my best ://
it was friday night, and after a long and stressful week, you found yourself slipping on your favorite ‘going out dress’ and heels to match, and were on your way to that popular nightclub that you’d always drive by on the way to work, but never got to visit yourself due to your busy schedule. you sat in the car jamming to music with your best friends , and your boyfriend texted you and said he’d meet you there, very eager to see you and what dress you decided to wear. after your arrival, the night seemed to speed by and you already felt yourself loosening up and having a blast. then, through the loud speakers, the song “work” by rihanna started to play, instantly getting you hype:
sneaks up behind you without you noticing and begins to match their hip movements with yours. you’re lowkey surprised at how good of a dancer they are and keeping the rhythm. their larger hands return home on your hips, gently rubbing them up and down your skin, from your waist to your thighs. they’re fully enjoying how flustered you get, how your body shudders when they whisper the lyrics in your ear, while simultaneously placing soft kisses on your neck and collarbone. heat pools at your core at the intimacy and passion of your motions.

kinda( slow and ) sensual grinding—like very sensual. his hands are roaming every inch of your body and you gasp when you feel his quickly hardening erection on your ass/tailbone. matter fact, the man damn near bends you over on the dance floor and dry humps you right there in front of everyone. you look back to see his tongue sticking out his mouth and his eyebrows furrowed in concentration. you grew hot with embarrassment by his brazen and explicit actions, but also increasingly impatient to leave the club so he can solve the problem he created by fucking you dumb.

they were much too shy or apprehensive about going to dance with you, so they settled to hang at the bar with some friends, or by himself, ordering drink after cocktail, in hopes it’ll loosen him up a bit; he takes joy in observing you from afar. he stared at you with what looked like hearts in his eyes, completely mesmerized by your curves, loving how much you were enjoying yourself. he couldn’t tear his eyes away from the way you gyrated to the beat, in your own little world which he desperately wanted to join. if it wasn’t for you glancing at him suggestively or his friends encouraging him to go over there, he would have never gotten up.

..…you’re not even to on the dance floor. whether it would have been with your friends or by yourself, this man is not having it and he’d prefer if you stayed by his side. he’s not really the ‘dance floor’ type, so instead he has his own little section to smoke, drink and talk with his close friends. and that’s where you’ll be too—sitting your pretty self on his lap and watching everyone else have a great time. you were upset at first, but with the way he would mindlessly trace his rough palms on your thighs, waist and tummy, you were quickly convinced this was way better than sweating out your edges and makeup. still, you couldn’t help but whine your hips on the man’s crotch, the bass and lyrics so hypnotic and controlled your mind and every movement you made. feeling him get hard almost immediately, you bit your lip to contain your excitement and arousal and continued to tease him. the man underneath you held a lopsided smirk as he watched you grind on his clothed cock.

a/n! — i put some people in more than one place because i felt like depending on circumstances and their personality (or time period), more than one description fits certain people. i hope you all enjoyed, pls reblog and like!! it is greatly appreciated <33

Welcome to my presentation
I will take constructive criticism
Obito and Anakin are basically the same person
- Missing an arm
- Scar in their face
- Good turned evil
- Then turned good again only to die instantly
- Saw love of their lives die
- Were never really valued members of their community (black sheep) but of members of their team which they were probs never aware of
- You don’t touch my comrades, I will fucking kill you.
- Will not leave the girl behind, why would you what the fuck is wrong with you?? (Ahsoka in factory)
- Hot af
- Get shipped with their best male friend (age gap)
- Got groomed by an disgusting old man
- Disgusting old man manipulated the shit out of them resulting in nearly all their loved ones dying (but it was kind of literally their fault still)
- They are a wanted criminal now because of that
- are second in command for the evil guys
- Dosen´t actually care about the goal of the bad guys (anymore)
- Saw loved one die: went absolutely batshit insane and committed mass murder
- Edgy boys

"Hashirama, when did I go wrong ?" 2/2 Breath your spirit into the mud
An other Madara's analysis :
Madara is a great shonen villain. The Greatest. But since he asks for a way of redemption and Hashirama is still busy, I gladly proposes my own reflexions.
In the Part 1 : "Hashirama when did I go wrong?" 1/2 Dominate your inner demon We delve into his first mistake, his inability to build trust with others. Inability as well to surrender himself to Fate, since it belongs to the realm of the Unknown. The very concept he can't control. But that's the point of human's experience, do your best with your limited power, and limited time you got and leave the rest to the Fate. I know, it sounds totally crazy considering his position and the shitty fate he got but it was the only sane way. Suspicion attracts more suspicious situations. In contrary hope attract unexpected new opportunities. It's the cheesiest explanation of law of attraction I ever gave, Hashirama will be proud of me. I can feel him sniffing with tears of joy.
This being said, Madara is a genius mind. Ahead of his time, pioneer and avant-garde : first Mangakyou Sharingan, first Eternal Mangakyou Sharingan, first to control a Bijuu, first to awake a Rinnegan on his own, insane fighting creativity, crazy long-term strategist, a longevity beyond the 30's something of his time. He both thinks fast and forward. And as in everything in life, it's within your biggest qualities that reside your own limits. His mind is boundless, free like the wind, driving and bold like fire but real world is very mokuton slow and steady like earth, fluid and clingy like water. Leading me to his second mistake : Madara's inability to have a vision rooted in reality. Let's go !
An idealist
Something rarely discuss about Madara aside is ninjustu's abilities is his smartness. I often headcanon him as a strong thinker and heavy reader of ancient philosophy, literature, and history. And I won't be surprise if he was into calligraphy and haiku since it was an ancient art practice by warrior class. We saw Hiruzen doing it in the beginning of Naruto which mean it was a practice he learned from the founders generation. An other clue is his attraction to elegance. He had way to much vocabulary comparing to his generation and too complex to grab for a simple children like Naruto or Obito. He often talks with poetic metaphor and this from early age. We have « I reach the other side », the famous « Do you want to dance ?», even his « I hate people behind my back» had many implied meanings. And he always have an unsolicited aesthetic opinion on everything and everyone.
Madara is the only ninja (maybe with Orochimaru) who was genuinely curious about ninjutsu's origin. It's not enough for him to master a power, he needs to know the whole concept behind its mechanism. In the second part of his life, When he denied this world, he let himself being obsessed by abstract dilemma . What is peace ? How to escape duality of this world ? How escaping suffering not for himself but for whole humanity ? His ideal was by nature purely metaphysic ( from the greek meta = beyond, physic = matter) and detach from the material world that he intentionally denied. He went so far into denial the matter than he even conceptualised his own self. How generous of him we can all be Madara if we obey him and follow his plan😅.
a quick thinker
His utopian sensibility is hold by a strong intuition. In stressful situation he demonstrate how he analyses every details and act quickly. It's a precious gift during a fight to death. But in daily life, it made him so nervous and impatient. His mind is calculating already 75269 possibilities with 58962 parameters with a timeline of 250 years ahead while the average joe only thinks about his next ramen. People are slow to him. And he can't just chill.
He make up his mind quickly and with his natural pessimist nature end up to gave up as well quickly. He gave up quickly Hashirama's friendship without putting a bit of faith in future. That's why I said learning to surrender to fate is important you never know what future can bring you to open a new door, when an other one stay closed. In my opinion as well I think he signed peace treaty with the Senjus to soon and pressured by context. We don't know what they talk about but for sure Uchiha clan's political position was not a subject and cost him the respect he deserved as founder. Realising his mistake, he gave up as well too quickly Konoha and his clan. Even if you had valid reasons, you cannot ask your clan to join their biggest enemies one day and one year later when they start to find a little bit of security ask them to leave and follow you out in the wild shinobi world. We don't know either how went the conversation with his clan but we know he is not the most talkative person. It went probably something like :
MADARA : We gotta go.
CLAN : but why ?
MADARA : In chapter 399 Konoha will commit genocide on us. I read the script.
CLAN : What script ? We're confused...one day we should be with senju, an other day not... and we already pay our children's fees in ninja academy and what about the mortgage to Konoha and...
* rambling for the next 20 minutes*
MADARA : ...
CLAN : Madara-sama ?
MADARA : ...
CLAN : Can you at least elaborate your thoughts ?
MADARA : ...
CLAN : ...
MADARA : Hn. Forget about it, I'm out.
He put zero effort to popularizing his thoughts. I'm not even sure Izuna ever knews what was his brother's real dream. His quick thinking was perceive unstable to normal citizens.
I can't find anymore this analysis I read on tumblr and if anyone remember please let me know and I will add the source. Someone said that the main difference between Madara and Hashirama's dream was one was looking for an inner Peace and the second was about Outer Peace. Hashirama is about structures, village, clans alliance. And his idea is reinforced by Tobirama who swear only by law enforcement and suppression of emotion altogether.
Madara wanted a way for people to live together despise hate and mistrust rooted in clans for generation. Hashirama rooted this concept in a village. On paper, the combinaison of both of them sounds amazing. But in the storyline, a lot of Madara's point of view stayed unheard : How to reach forvigeness when your very neighbough murder your brother ? Shall we forget and move on ? Shall we ask for justice while every ninja including himself had been too responsible for countless orphans ? Shall we accept to give up one's dream to serve someone else's dream ? How reconciliate owns personal grief with a need for greater good?
It's not enough to live in a village together with rules and hierarchy. In the end we still live with people's pain, ego, hope, dream, ambition. Konoha was built without taking the time to solve this issue between the Senju and Uchiha. As Hashirama admitted himself because they were in hurry to build peace. The will of Fire is in reality the will of the Senju inherited from Asura Otsusuki. But what about Uchiha's Will and Indra's legacy ? Did they take the time to merge both philosophies in order to create a unique Konoha's Will born from both ideologies ? I don't think so. This big problem leads inevitably to those unsolved negative emotions who flow down the village's foundations, and putrified them until later it was impossible to ignore the filths.
When Hashirama begged Madara to stay in the village he knew somehow that with only Tobirama at his side his Outer peace will be more crystallised than ever and more rigid. People are not machine their are both creativity and rationality. Ying and Yang, Light and shadow, you get the point.... With Madara's departure as a powerful Ying energy, and Hashirama's inability to convince him to stay, Konoha was doomed to failed. And it did.
Madara saw in Konoha a hollow shell. And to Hashirama, Madara's vision was like a breath of air. Divinely inspirated but hard to grasp even for the clan he swore to defend. After his departure, Hashirama's vision solidified until it got devoid of compassion. This mentality leads to three Shinobi wars, children still soldiers or worse tik-tok bombs Jinchurikis. Madara's vision left forever the shore of reality, denying human world, denying time passing, abolishing people's freedom of choice. His genius mind kept drifting far, far away into a never-ending genjutsu. He never "wake up to reality", he drown himself deeper and deeper unto Black Zetsu's illusion. His brilliant spirit was never incarnated into earth. Instead it was floating between life and death. Like an unborn ghost inside a barren vessel.
Gaara can be a good example for him to get inspired. Like Madara he is capricorn, quiet and stern personality, like him he suffered trauma, betrayals from his kin and end up with a frightening reputation. When he was Kazekage, people weren't immediately enjoyed by it. Many time some tried to get ride of him. But he did what every capricorn knows to do best : working harder, working for the people and slowly gaining their trust, time is always capricorn's ally. He gained back the support of his brother and sister. Keep strong diplomatic relationship with Konoha. Adopt and raise a son and passed down his wisdom to the next generation And finally people recognise his sacrifice for protecting his village.
And contrary to Gaara, Madara at the time of Konoha had a longer experience in leadership, he could have been easily a second Hokage if he wanted to seriously. By slowly surrounding himself with people out of his clan, even out of Konoha and the Fire land. Using Hashirama's ruling time to build his team, recruiting them specifically for the talents he lacks the most :
sweet diplomatic team to counter Hashirama's natural charm.
Smooth politicians with great skills in hypocrisy and seduction to deal with the feudal Lords courts
an aggressive legal team to defend Uchiha's rights, as a lioness defending her cubs.
an excellent Public Relation team because the word needs to know how sexy Madara actually is, to keep Uchiha's contribution to Konoha alive in memories.
Well I think I answered what was Madara's main mistakes in my point of view. I'm as well curious to hear your opinion.

Do you know what happened to Senju clan? Why Uchiha is still a big clan pre-Massacre but there's no other notable Senju than Tsunade?
There's actually no mention (in Manga or Databooks) as to what happened to Senju as a Clan. And definitely, they weren't massacred. So, my answer would be to speculate with what we have and then connect the dots.
My best guess is that
In Narutoverse, A Clan is usually classified by their Special Abilities or Secret Jutsus (like Nara clan's) or their Appearance. As far as we've known, Senju clan has none. Not everyone can perform Mokuton no jutsu other than Hashirama which explains why Orochimaru/Madara wanted to obtain that power so badly.
Atleast Uzumaki had some distinguishing features of their Red Hair and vast Chakra potential. Whereas every Senjus we've ever come across have different appearances and abilities. So, the special features that distinguish them from other Clan is not there...
And also, I've never seen Tsunade pronouncing her Senju surname at any point in the Manga. Even other characters addresses her as Tsunade-Sama or Tsunade-Hime (Princess). Only because of the casual mention in Part 1 that she is related to First Hokage, we came to know that she is another Senju during Obito's Flashback (Hashirama's name reveal was from that flashback).
And I've noticed this thing... Tsunade was never addressed as a Senju in any of those Databooks. (Even in the last Databook which was released after the Manga was completed)
The Kanji which was used to describe her is 火影 (五代目 . 綱手)
Meaning, Hokage (Godaime. Tsunade). In both Databook 3 and 4.
Whereas when it comes to Hashirama...
The Kanji which describes him is 火影 (初代 . 柱間)
Meaning, Hokage (Shodai. Senju Hashirama)
=
=
=
So, I guess, Senju people started to abandon their Surname as years progressed.
Plus, they don't have any distinguishing abilities or facial features.
And they were shown to do intermarriages either to create alliance... like Hashirama married a Uzumaki woman, Mito... Or out of love Tsunade loved a man named Dan who is definitely not a Senju. I know they aren't married but they would've if Dan were alive. So, when it comes to intermarriages, babies born between them might not have given any surnames. Just like Jiraiya. Or they would've preferred to go with their partners' surnames.
This Surname thing has a subtle reference in the Manga...
"Uchiha is just a name, it just refers to our roots and clan... It doesn't mean anything by itself"
And also With the way she has been portrayed, Tsunade never cared about her Surname but she took immense care/pride about the legacy and the dreams that were left behind by her Grandfather.
"What I inherited from the first was not simple strength, but something that continued flowing through the Ages, that's my real strength...
Don't underestimate the Will of Fire"
"But your Feelings and Dream reached this Generation too... And even the Next one... The Will of Fire"
There's this saying from one of my Favourite movie called V for Vendetta.
"Remember, remember, the Fifth of November, the Gunpowder Treason and Plot. I know of no reason why the Gunpowder Treason should ever be forgot... But what of the man? I know his name was Guy Fawkes and I know, in 1605, he attempted to blow up the Houses of Parliament. But who was he really? What was he like? We are told to remember the idea, not the man, because a man can fail. He can be caught, he can be killed and forgotten, but 400 years later, an idea can still change the world."
Like I mentioned earlier, Rather than leaving behind the Proud Surname... Hashirama left behind a dream and a legacy to protect and then he wanted to pass that onto the Next Generation. Same with Tobirama too.
And because of all these factors, Senju clan is kinda dissolved or disbanded by the start of Chapter 1. All of these makes absolute sense as to why Senju clan doesn't exist even during the Pre-Massacre.

Day 3 comes with my longest story, and AU that was in my head for a while now :)
Info: I am European and football is a sport you play with a foot and a ball. Alright, I’m glad we got that sorted.
Modern AU - Highschool
Pairing: Hatake Kakashi x Uchiha Obito
7259 words.
They are both 17 at this point, there is nothing nsfw happening, but I’ll rate it M for the swearing.

For @kakaobiweek Day 3: AU’s
Obito, captain of the volleyball team, and Kakashi, captain of the football team just can't stand each other. Their constant fighting annoys everyone, including their common friend Rin. Things get especially heated during their last playoff games before nationals. After all, both of them only have one chance left qualify before graduation.
Obito threw a quick strategic view over to his cousin Itachi, standing in the middle of the field with both of his hands in the air. Itachi had received the ball from the libero, keeping it in play without letting it drop onto the ground. Obito couldn’t help but feel proud of all of them. They’d trained so hard for this and now reaped the rewards. Itachi took the ball and passed it to Obito, who, high over the net, was already in position to strike. There were gaping holes in the enemy’s defence, an easy game, another easy point for the captain. Obito landed on his right feet with ease, the biggest grin on his half scarred face. It was just too easy. Like clockwork. He gave out high fives.
In his last high school year he’d been made captain of the men’s volleyball team, an honour that Obito wore with pride. He’d always been a good player, a charismatic leader, and deserved the position. Now, in this, his last, tournament he was leading his school’s team to the national playoffs, just like he’d always wanted to. Being the best in your region was one thing, but best in the country? His fingers tingled at the prospect. Maybe if he’d win something as prestigious he’d be able to continue this once in university.
His eyes flickered from the field to the stands, past the girls cheering his team on to the seated watchers. Obito found Rin immediately, her light brown hair with the violet front streaks visible among a crowd of other colours. He grinned and could feel the light jump at his heart. It was always a privilege when Rin watched him and he always showed off a little, just for her. Next to her sat a boy Obito’s age, someone who was in Rin’s class and had been her friend since childhood. Hatake Kakashi. Obito frowned. Why was the football freak here? He’d better leave his grassy hands off Rin.
There was no time to muse about this any longer, as the ball was again in play. Deidara ran, blonde hair waving in the air and Obito yelled at Sasori to go forward and help Deidara out. They glanced at each other, often in animosity in training, but then the contact between them worked without issue. The ball found its way back to Itachi and from there to Obito. He pulled his legs up to jump higher, aim closer, and just like clockwork he found the hole again. He hit it with full force and there was an audible bang in the gym as it hit the ground. The audience roared. Obito winked and waved to them. In the stands he could see Kakashi pull up his nose.
Only one point left between them and the national playoffs, Obito felt the adrenaline pumping through his veins. He’d crown his time at the school with this win and be remembered for it even after graduating- that was every captain's dream. “Don’t worry too much about your game”, Rin had said a day earlier. “I know you can do it.” Her hands had touched his arm softly and Obito smiled at the memory. “Well considering what happened last time, he needs to prepare some tissues” Kakashi had then interfered, mouth as always hidden behind a stupid black surgical mask. As far as Obito could tell Kakashi wasn’t sick or anything, he just liked being edgy about it. “Crybaby”, he had added and turned back to the book he was reading. “Shut up, bakashi” Obito had spat back and ran out. Obito’s smile turned into a frown.
“Hey, Bito”, Deidara checked his captain with the elbow to bring him back to reality. Obito fistbumped him and regained his concentration again. Just one more point. The enemy serve sailed fast forward and Obito fished it out before it hit the ground and got it to Itachi. This time someone else needed to score for him. The audience cheered loud in his ears, all eyes on where the ball would be set. Sasori ran, his build a bit smaller than the others, but fast. Obito had full trust in him, as he did in all of them. His eyes watched the younger boy leap up and find the ball mid air and smash it down again. Another loud bang. Score. The cheering from their school was so loud that Obito almost didn’t hear the praising words of their coach. They’d won.
Eventually people came down from the stands, when all the handshakes had been done, respect had been given to the other team, and Obito casually walked over to where Rin was standing with Kakashi. The boy was still here, this left a sour taste in Obito’s mouth. When he came within their earshot he stretched his neck into the air: “Thank you for coming by and witnessing my triumph.” He gave Kakashi a sour look, the other narrowed his eyes immediately as a reply. “What is the football freak doing here anyway? Don’t you have… balls to kick around or something.”
“Can I not just come by and watch my school’s volleyball team perform?” Kakashi snapped back, his voice a little muffled behind the mask as always. Obito made a “pff” sound but Rin interjected laughing: “I asked him to accompany me. I thought he might like seeing you play.” Obito lifted his eyebrows. “I literally couldn’t have cared less”, Kakashi shrugged, “It’s not that important of a tournament anyway.” Obito knew Kakashi was just trying to rile him up, make him lose his patient in front of Rin, so he just shrugged too. “At least we made Nationals, while you guys will probably….”
“End up crying? Like you last time?” Kakashi laughed hollowly. Obito felt the flush on his cheeks immediately. Last year his team had missed the chance to qualify by only 2 points and he’d been so disappointed that he’d started crying - in front of everyone. Kakashi, who’d never been particularly nice to Obito, had not stopped making fun of him ever since. It had only worsened since they both had become team captains. Kakashi was the most unpleasant, arrogant person Obito had ever met. “Shut up, idiot scarecrow. I don’t even want you here during my celebration”, Obito snapped his finger into Kakashi’s forehead. The other boy raised his eyes and put his hands into a fist: “Oh are you challenging me? Is this what is happen-”
“Oh come on stop it, you guys. Everytime.” Rin took one of their wrists each and wiggled them around. “Enough ok? Let's just be happy Obito gets to have his dream.” Kakashi scoffed, his feet scratching over the gym floor. Rin sighed and let their arms go. Kakashi took the opportunity immediately and excused himself for some flimsy reason or other and Obito watched him go out, the white hair swaying with every movement. Obito had not noticed before how strongly Kakashi was built.
On monday in school they were greeted with the usual uproar by other students who had seen or heard about the game. Those were the days when Obito felt the best, when everyone knew him, cheered for him and smiled at him in the hallways of the school. It was a million times better than what had happened during a loss. Obito could never stand the outpouring of pity for him if they lost. He felt like a king, waving at people who threw congratulations at him. He walked into Rin's classroom even before the first period, but she wasn’t on her seat. Only Kakashi was there. “Enjoying yourself, crybaby?” he asked, barely lifting his eyes from the novel he was reading. “Shut your face, scarecrow.”
Who did he constantly think he was? All day he walked around with his head hiding behind a mask and a book. He only loosened up on the football field, when he could play with the mates he’d had all his life. Obito sometimes saw Kakashi and the rest of them, Gai, Yamato, who went into his class and Genma who went into Rin’s class. They’d played together for a long time, supporting each other for ages. It was the only time Obito could watch Kakashi without a mask, without a worry on his face. It made him almost look human. Almost. But then he opened his mouth again and it was clear he was just a stupid idiot. Obito decided to come back later to collect the praise out of Rin’s mouth.
At lunch he shuffled over again and this time Rin was there, but Kakashi was gone. Perfect conditions, Obito felt happy. “You know he is just nervous himself”, Rin said, shuffling through some of her things to find her lunch box. “He is having the same game that you just finished on the weekend.” Obito put his head to the side. He wasn’t really versed in the comings and goings of the football team. The sport of football to him had always been vastly inferior to volleyball. “Last game before nationals?” he asked, a little confused. Rin nodded, finally successful in fishing out her food. “Like you, he wants nothing more than to qualify before graduation. Like you he’s never managed before.”
Obito leaned back in the chair he was sitting in. With all his splendour and excellent grades, this was something Kakashi had not yet achieved. He couldn’t help but grin at the thought. Having reached something that Kakashi hadn’t made him proud. “With his arrogant attitude he does not deserve to qualify” Obito mumbled a little and Rin shot him a look. “I mean, he didn’t even congratulate me” Obito tried to explain the animosity but she just shrugged and began eating. Something in her eyes told him that she held back on saying what she wanted to say. “Why don’t you accompany me Saturday and watch him a little? After all, he came with me to watch you.”
_____
It was impossible to say no to Rin, especially when she gave the baby deer eyes she had and fully charmed you, so Obito agreed. He would go with her to watch the stupid boring football game. Not only could he watch Kakashi fail, but he could also spend an entire afternoon sitting right besides Rin, and who wouldn’t want that? They met in front of the small stadium the school sometimes used for games and found their seats high up in the stands. Obito complained first, but then he realised he had an overall good overview of the field. Maybe being too poor to buy premium seats wasn’t too bad.
Before the game started the teams came out and the captains exchanged handshakes. Obito watched Kakashi in his blue-grey jersey with his name on the back, hair in a tiny ponytail at the back of his head. “I guess he ditched the mask for today” Obito snarled and Rin replied immediately: “I always like his sport’s outfits. I think it makes him look handsome.” He wanted to say “No it does not”, but could not lie to himself in this way. Maybe Kakashi really was conventionally attractive, but his foul personality ruined it all. The game started fast paced. Their school had a good, strong midfielder in Gai, who had such power behind his passes that Obito wondered when the ball would burst in panic. Kakashi was the team’s striker, hovering at the end of the field, waiting for his chance. To his delight, it came relatively quickly in the form of a long ball, passed from Gai to Genma who set it up directly for Kakashi. The boy stopped it and without as much as a glance circled it around the enemy goalkeeper into the net. As much as it pained Obito to admit, the way Kakashi had done it was very impressive.
The game slowed down right after the first goal, the enemy team a little in a slump. Obito felt giddy and excited with his classmates, his eyes following Kakashi’s silver hair over the field. It was hard to keep his eyes away from him, so different now that he was concentrating on the thing that he loved doing most. Obito wondered silently if Kakashi had watched him all the same just a week earlier. The break came after 45 mins right on time and both teams left the field. “They are doing well, aren’t they?” Obito said smiling to Rin and upon seeing her face he added quickly: “I mean, if you consider the fact that they have the idiot as their star player.” He couldn’t help but notice the look she was giving him from the side. Again, she seemed to swallow what she wanted to say.
Early in the second half the enemy team scored just a few minutes after the whistle of the referee went off. Apparently they had pulled themselves together in the changing room, rearranged strategies. It seemed to work for them, as Gai had almost no options now to get a straight pass. It was not like they didn’t have other capable strikers in their team, but somehow, without him as an enabler, they stumbled a bit. Obito saw Kakashi call his teammates, wave them around to change their positions, but it seemed helpless. Ten minutes later the enemy school scored a second time. At this point they’d not make it to Nationals. Obito could feel the tuck in his heart.
“Oh come on, just get another one in”, Obito mumbled, watching his team bite their tooth and nails out on the enemy defence. Kakashi got the ball maybe twice and shot straight, hard, right into the goalkeeper. If he hadn’t been so invested by this point maybe Obito would have made fun of him, but instead he held his thumb tight. Time was running against their favour, and still the enemy stood like a wall in their defence. They were all pushing forward now, trying to get any sort of opportunity to force an overtime, it was their only chance of advancing. Obito’s eyes were still following Kakashi’s ponytail around, trying to read his expression. How desperate must he be feeling at this point?
There were maybe 2 mins left before the game ended, when they finally got another opportunity. After a corner of the enemy team, in which all of them except for a select few had gone forward, Kakashi’s team got the ball. Yamato picked it up with his head out of the air, stopped it with his foot and looked around. Obito saw it in unison with him: Kakashi was free. Yamato stepped to the side and a look between him and his captain sealed the deal. The ball sailed high over the enemy players and Kakashi made sure to avoid offside by staying just behind an enemy player, but close enough to circle around if necessary. This was their chance. This had to be his goal.
Obito couldn’t stay seated any longer. As he watched Kakashi’s eyes fixate on the ball, he jumped up and ran to the barricade between viewers and field, startling Rin so that she dropped her phone to the ground. Obito crawled his fingers around the railing, Kakashi's focused face bright in his eyes. Kakashi took the ball with his right foot and stopped it just enough to turn around towards the goal keeper.
“Fucking score that dumb goal, idiot scarecrow!” Obito screamed, acting on an impulse from deep inside himself. He pumped his hand on the metal railing that it clanged. Kakashi’s eyes darted up, just for a second, and looked into the crowd. How he had heard Obito through the noise of the crowd was beyond him, but now that Obito had his attention he went again. “Just- man just get that win!” Obito looked up to the timer, 50 seconds left. “Idiot scarecrow!”
Kakashi pulled his eyes away back onto the ball and then to the goalkeeper. He was so close now, just merely past the 11 metre point. Obito crawled his hands so tightly around the railing that it hurt under them, his heart beating to his ears. “Come on” he thought, “You can do it, come on.” Kakashi visibly hesitated, his eyes moving over different targets, a plan working out in his mind. Then he shot, a long, hard push at the ball like he’d done it before and the crowd collectively held their breath.
The ball flew. It gained traction with every metre it passed. “Too high”, Obito mumbled as the crowd of the opposing school erupted in cheers. The ball sailed over the goal, way too high, at least 2 metres too high, and into out. The goalkeeper didn’t even try to jump for it, it was too far away. Obito felt his knees shake. Over, this was over. His eyes looked at Kakashi, who still stared at the point where the ball had flown over the goal, too stunned to speak or do anything. He just stood there, feet frozen in the green grass.
The referee whistled to end the game. 2:1, it was over, they had lost. Obito went back to his seat and let himself fall next to Rin. “What did you do over there?” she asked curiously, one eyebrow raised at him. “Just - just wanted to observe better” he lied, his eyes still flickering over to Kakashi on the field. The other boy had fallen to his knees, eyes wide and disappointed. Obito felt his disappointment at his core. God, if he had lost the last game before nationals, he’d be pretty broken too.
First the players and then slowly also the visitors left the stadium. Rin nodded at Obito and told him she’d have to take care of something and left, but Obito stayed. Kakashi stayed too, his knees green and smudged from the wet field. It took him an hour after the end of the game to get back to his feet and finally move to the shower. Genma had stopped by, Gai had, tipping their captain on the shoulder, speaking softly to him, but the outcome had been the same: Kakashi had sat unmoved in the grass. Obito didn’t know why he was still waiting, why he had watched him the entire time, but now that Kakashi was gone he finally also got up and left. Weak in his knees too.
Obito thought of his own playoff match, when he’d hit the last spikes given to him, the feeling of scoring the points that pushed your team to nationals, the high of it all. How would it have been if he had not made those last few points? If instead each of his pushes had just been eaten up by the enemy’s hands? It must be devastating, to fail so close before the end. Obito bit his lip imagining it. Now that they were graduating they couldn’t even claim anymore that they’d try again next time. Who knew if Kakashi had time to play football in university.
Somehow, even now, Obito could not get himself to go home. He circled the stadium slowly and found himself at the players exit. Some people from the other school were still there, celebrating and throwing water bottles at each other. Obito gave them a nod and a thumbs up to congratulate them, but his brows didn’t really move out of the frown he had worn it in ever since the ball had sailed into the skies. He leaned against a pillar, arms crossed and waited for - well, he didn’t exactly know either what he was waiting for.
Kakashi came out about 40 mins later, hair still wet from the shower. It had taken him so long to get cleaned up that Obito assumed he’d tried to drown himself. He hadn’t even bothered to put the stupid mask on. Nobody was left anymore, even the last supervisor had gone home. When Kakashi’s eyes met Obito’s he threw his hair into his neck and demonstratively walked into the opposite direction of him. Obito followed his tail, screaming “Hey, wait.” Kakashi pressed on.
“I don’t want to hear it”, he said, teeth gritted together. “Hear what?” Obito asked, grabbing the other by the sleeve. “The onslaught of jokes you have for me.” Kakashi turned around, eyes full of anger and regret. “I- I don’t know what you mean”, Obito stuttered, a little taken aback by the fire in the eyes of the other. “Oh come on,” Kakashi snarled, rolling his eyes. “Don’t tell me you haven’t come here to brag about how you are going to nationals and I’m not.”
“I- I actually did not” Obito said. “Okay” Kakashi said, pulling the word out to make it sound as sarcastic as he could, “then why are you here still, get the fuck home.” Obito turned his head away. “I just wanted to make sure you are alright”, he said, surprised by how earnest these words made him feel. Kakashi raised his eyebrows in disbelief: “Oh, well thank you, thank you for coming out and watching my triumph.” Obito blushed at the quote. It had been a terribly arrogant thing to say.
Kakashi pulled his arm out of Obito’s grip and walked on, Obito jumped forward to keep in his step. “I understand you must be terribly disappointed now”, he said a little out of breath. “But it happens, sometimes you just have bad days…” Kakashi turned around so suddenly that Obito choked on his breath a little. He pushed Obito on both his shoulders into the pillar behind him. “Ouch,” said Obito and when he looked up Kakashi was towering over him. “Bad days?” he said slowly, cold anger in his voice.
“Bad days are when I have to see your stupid face in the morning,” Kakashi yelled and Obito pressed his back into the pillar behind him. They were uncomfortably close to each other. “Bad days are when you hang around our class all day with Rin and talk so much. Your laughter is so loud and obnoxious.” Obito didn’t know what to say. “It’s a bad day when you are around the training field to do running practice and your stupid arms show under your stupid white Tshirt that you don’t bother to wear correctly.” Obito frowned: “Oh yeah? Well you always wear these stupid pony tails in practice and it makes you look ridiculous. That ruins my day.”
“When I have to watch you spike and you focus like a gremlin on that ball of yours and the light that crosses your face once you know where to score - that pisses me off” Kakashi continued, almost forehead to forehead with Obito now. “Ha, you look like the ball is you favourite pet when you prepare to score, your eyes get soft and excited, it’s stupid, idiot scarecrow.” Kakashi threw his hair back. “I can’t stand the look of you, every day I see you, everywhere I see you - can’t you just - disappear.” They were both breathing heavily in anger now.
“God,” Obito said in a low voice, “I can’t believe I came out here to support you, when you are just the worst person I’ve ever met.” Kakashi backed off just a little, eyes widening a little at Obito’s words. “I knew this would be important to you, so I wanted .. to be supportive. You saw me play too after all.” Kakashi scoffed. “I was rooting for you even- “ Obito struggled against the arms pushing him back, trying to break himself free. “Well, maybe I had a bad day because you were there,” Kakashi said, one eyebrow raised under his silver hair.
Obito took his hands up and crawled them into Kakashi’s shirt: “I even waited for you after the game, here, for hours- because I wanted to make sure you are alright, and now you are yelling at me?” He pulled at the shirt and Kakashi’s face was even closer to his. He could now feel the other boy's breath on his face. “Maybe you’re right, maybe I shouldn’t have come, maybe I should just go now and let you sulk in your own misery, scarecrow.”
Kakashi said nothing and instead continued angrily glaring at Obito. The Uchiha shook his black hair out, unable to hold the gaze. “I understand that you are upset! You have a right to be upset! But I care for you, so let me help you.” The words had come out before Obito had been able to hold them in, and he quickly added: “I mean I care for you as Rin’s friend, because I care for her. Obviously you are an absolute idio-”
Obito had no time to close his eyes when Kakashi closed the distance between them, lips pressing hard and wild on Obito’s. His eyes widened at the feeling and then he closed them, letting the taste run over his mouth. It was not his first time kissing, all of them had done it at some point as children, but this was the first real kiss. His hands kept themselves steady in Kakashi’s t-shirt as Obito could feel the other boy’s tongue on his lips. He granted access and groaned just a little as they touched. Kakashi tasted good in a way that Obito could not describe and a little like the sports drink he must have had earlier.
They let the tongues move around each other, taste and play. Obito’s mind was filled with this new feeling shooting through him, raising his pulse and letting blood run between his legs. It was so much and felt so good. Kakashi moved his hands from Obito’s shoulders to his hair, stroking it back, stroking his scars too. Obito couldn’t help but moan in delight at the sweetness of it. His thoughts spiralled around Kakashi’s touches, his taste, his presence, his scent. He let himself get pushed to the pillar again so that the other boy could move closer, pressing his body against Obito’s.
When Kakashi finally did pull back, breath heavy and ragged, Obito tried to chase his mouth with his own, trying to regain the feeling that had been taken from him, but Kakashi yanked his head backwards, away from him. They finally both opened their eyes. Black and grey staring each other down. Now with the absence of the intense sweet feeling, Obito’s mind returned to a more rational state of being. “What did you- “he started, his fingers running over his own lips in disbelief. He’d never even considered kissing other boys before, he’d never thought about kissing… Kakashi before.
“I- I don’t know”, Kakashi said, taking a step back. He was burning red and tried to cover his face with his hand to hide it. He took another step away and before Obito could say anything else, Kakashi had turned and ran off. Obito hesitated for a second too long and knew he’d never be able to catch up again now. He let his head fall against the pillar again, a lingering feeling of the Kakashi’s taste still on his tongue. Obito could feel his heart beat strong against his chest and pressed his hand on it. What the hell?
__
At night Obito was laying in his bed, arms crossed behind him under the pillow and he couldn’t help it, he was replaying the scenery from the afternoon in his mind. When he closed his eyes he could see Kakashi’s face in front of it, flushed red and embarrassed, and feel the sweet taste on his tongue again. His skin still felt tingly with the way Kakashi had touched him, like spiders walking over it and leaving bites behind. He went with his hands through his own hair and no, it did not warrant the same shiver.
His pulse raised at the memory alone. Why? What warranted this reaction? And where did all of this come from? And what was Kakashi thinking? They’d have to see each other again in school by monday. Would they talk? Obito moved to the side, still too restless to sleep. He wondered what Kakashi was doing right now, if he was still upset about the loss. If he was thinking about Obito. Somehow Obito couldn’t keep himself from asking this question.
When he finally did fall asleep he dreamed of Kakashi’s lips on his again, the feeling swelling up deep on his inside like a slowly boiling kettle. This time, in his dream, he held onto the other boy, did not drop his hands, did not let him walk away and they just stayed flushed against each other, mouth to mouth, for the entirety of it. Obito had had dreams like this before about Rin, about other women, but never about men, and never this intense. When he opened his eyes in the early morning hours he let out a deep sigh. He was in deep shit now.
—
Kakashi did not return to school on monday. Everybody said he was hiding from the other people on the football team, too ashamed to explain his terrible shot that had lost them the game, but Gai just shrugged: “He is sick. He texted us.” They didn’t seem worried or particularly mad at him. Made sense, Obito thought, that his own team would never accuse him of anything. He made his way to Rin and tried to casually ask if she knew what Kakashi was sick with. She crooked a brow: “Just a cold, he says.” She put her head to the side and Obito felt like she wanted to ask him something, but instead she just turned back to her bento.
He didn’t come back on Tuesday either. Obito noticed his absence immediately when he walked over to Kakashi and Rin’s class again. Rin narrowed her eyes at him when he asked again. “Idiot scarecrow still not back huh?” Somehow Rin looked like she suspected something, and Obito drew back immediately: “I mean, not that I care. He is a loser.” She shook her head. “Still sick,” she then said, shoving rice into her mouth, “Called yesterday, sounded very bad.” Obito felt the worry in his heart.
In the afternoon volleyball practice he hit most of the jump serves into the net. “Come on, Bito - man” Deidara sighed angrily from the middle of the field. “I’m sorry guys, my head is just not in the right place”, Obito said earnestly and was glad the team did not ask more specific questions about it. Instead they just let him hit terrible serve after terrible serve and then miss spike after spike and kept the training going anyway. Obito couldn’t help but feel a warm acknowledgement towards his teammates.
On Wednesday, when Obito entered Rin’s classroom she said “He didnt come.” before he could even say hello and ask a question. Obito could feel the blush on his cheeks immediately and looked away from her: “Who didn’t come?” It was such a weak redirect that Rin laughed. She shook her head again, but then fixated her eyes on Obito. “Did something happen between you two?” Obito darted away from her table just a little too much and her eyebrows raised. Obito murmured: “Eh, wh-why would you think that?”
“Because he texted me yesterday asking how you are” she ruffled her nose. “And you come by every day now asking how he is. And yes, you always had an obsession with each other, but this seems rather excessive all of a sudden.” Obito avoided her gaze. “So since you stayed behind after the match on Saturday, I wondered, if something has happened? Did you fight?” Obito squirmed backwards away from her: “N-No, I mean, we did argue, but that- that’s not what it was.”
“Well, whatever happened then, just - you know just let me give you his phone number so you can work it out without using me as the middleground.” She fiddled with her phone but Obito waved the offer away. “Oh no no, thanks, it’s not that important. I will just - eh- apologise once he is healthy again.” Then he turned around and left her classroom before she could say anything else. If he’d talk more she might just figure it out.
The week went by and Kakashi did not come back to school. Obito stopped going to Rin to ask her about it and instead asked any random member of the football team he could run into. Even Kakashi’s teammates seemed worried now, Gai mentioned wanting to go round his house at the weekend. Obito could catch himself before he asked if he could also join in. That would just raise too many questions and Rin, surely, would look at him with even further raised eyebrows, and by god, he wanted to avoid that.
Obito continued to be shit in training. Missing his serves and pushing spikes into out after out. It was so incredibly out of character for him, that his teammates even started getting riled up on him. “Whatever is occupying your mind”, Itachi said, bumping into his older cousin on the way home from school Friday evening, “You need to clear it up soon, otherwise we might be the laughing stock at Nationals.” Obito knew he was right, but he also didn’t know how to fix what was broken. The fight, the kiss -it had all happened so fast and he felt he couldn’t work through it without having at least asked Kakashi first. The next Monday came and at the entrance to the school Obito immediately ran into Rin. She was changing shoes, swaying from one foot to the other to keep balance. “Good morning,” Obito said, still so tired from nights of overthinking. She didn’t say it back and instead just clicked her heels together. “He is here today.” Obito’s ears perked up like a little cat and Rin couldn’t help but grin. “So you were waiting for him, huh?” Obito felt himself flush again: “I- I mean I just want to clear our misunderstanding.” Rin just shrugged her shoulders. “We all tell ourselves all kinds of lies all day.” Then she walked away, leaving Obito completely baffled.
Obito saw Kakashi between periods, hanging out in a small crowd of his friends from the football team. Obito tapped from one foot to the other, trying to come up with an excuse to go over and talk to him, but ultimately failed at coming up with something. Kakashi’s eyes never looked over to him, maybe a bit too demonstratively. Obito thought he must have noticed him by now and had ignored him on purpose. But still, the Uchiha wasn’t shaken off so easily.
As soon as the bell rang for lunchtime, Obito bolted out of his classroom to the adjacent one, but the door was already open. “He went for the lunch room”, Rin screamed from the back of the room as soon as she saw him. Obito winked a thanks at her and ran again. When he, out of breath and sweating a little, ripped open the door to the lunch room he had to realise that Kakashi was already out again. Genma, Gai and Yamato sat at a table discussing something and when Obito asked, as casually as he could, where their captain had gone, they said “Library.” They seemed as surprised about that as Obito was. He ran again, steps up, taking two three at the same time. This time he wouldn’t slip through Obito’s fingers. Maybe Kakashi had thought hiding in the library would work, but Obito would find him. They would talk, they would clear the air and then, well, who knew what would happen then. Breathing heavily he opened the door to the library and then was immediately met with a “Shh” by the librarian for breathing too loud. He nodded apologetically and then walked as fast as he could without running through the shelves of books, his eyes looking around to find the silver-white hair he knew so well.
Kakashi was in the very last aile, browsing through a section called “Romance Novels” and in any other situation maybe Obito would have made fun of him for that, but there were more pressing issues to discuss. “Bakashi,” Obito said, gasping for air and watched the other boy almost drop the book he’d been holding. “D-Did you follow me here?” Kakashi asked, and backed himself up into the corner wall. “Yes,” Obito didn’t feel the need to deny it at all. His eyes wandered over Kakashi’s face to the lips now again hidden under a black surgical mask. Kakashi was blushing, just a little, but still visible and Obito felt himself flushing at the sight of it. His heartbeat rang in his ears.
“I just wanted to talk”, Obito said, as softly as he could, as if a loud voice could scare Kakashi away like a shy animal, “about what happened the other day.” Kakashi immediately averted his gaze. He shoved the book back into the shelf: “Why? I don’t think anything happened last week…” Obito scoffed. What a weak deflection attempt. He took a deep breath, took another step towards Kakashi and said: “You kissed me.” The boy’s eyes opened wide for a moment before they turned towards his shoes again: “Oh yeah?”, he said, trying to use his usual mocking tone, “well, you kissed back.”
“Yes, I damn well did,” Obito shot back, crashing his arm into the wall next to Kakashi’s head. Now that Obito was the one doing the towering he noticed that he was just a little taller than the other boy, not significantly, but significantly enough to look more menacing when pushing him into a wall. “So you admit it?” Kakashi tried to be snarky, but the red in his face betrayed him again, “That you wanted to kiss me?” Obito let out a sharp breath. “Well, you started it, didn’t you. So you should be the one admitting it.”
“What would you do with that information?” Kakashi put his head up to level his eyes with Obito’s. “If I’d tell you that I indeed wanted to? That I have wanted to for a long time?” He breathed deeply as if a heavy burden had just been lifted from his heart. Obito met Kakashi’s dark eyes like a challenge. His free hand curled into a fist until his nails scratched his skin. “I would - “he began, his heart beating steadily and loudly against his ribcage, “I - I would-”
An instinct overcame the Uchiha and he moved so quickly, almost as quickly as Kakashi had moved just 8 days earlier. He opened his hand and pulled the mask down from Kakashi’s face and instead pressed his lips on him. It was a strong, aggressive kiss, full of desire and aggravation and Obito couldn’t help but let out a delighted sound when he felt Kakashi kissing him back. There was no denying how much he’d missed it, how much he’d wanted to do it again. When their tongues found each other again in that hot, unsteady dance, Obito could feel the wonderful sweetness again. Finally.
They pressed themselves as close to each other as they could, Kakashi’s fingers again running through Obito’s hair in that soft way he'd tried to recall every day for the past week. Obito put his hands on the waist of the other boy and chased the kisses as often as they came. Each separation, only for deep, shallow breaths, felt like a huge loss and needed to be rectified immediately. They let themselves fully go, melting fully into each other.Five or ten or fifteen minutes passed with them moving together, until someone just an aile down dropped a book and both boys let go.
Kakashi was red again, cheeks flushed so badly they could have been wearing makeup. Obito was breathing in short intakes still, his face also feeling disturbingly hot. When Obito spoke again he tried to calm his voice and keep it quiet enough that only Kakashi would hear: “That- that was quite something.” Kakashi squirmed, his eyes looking everywhere but Obito’s face. “How long have you wanted to do this?” Obito asked softly, a hand finding Kakashi’s fingers taking them in. “I don’t know,” Kakashi replied, voice shaky with nerves, “It crossed my mind at some point and then it was always there.”
“I thought you hated me”, Obito whispered. “I did, I mean - I guess I didn’t, but I wanted to.” Kakashi looked up at Obito finally. “You annoy me like no other person. You laugh loudly, you talk too much, you are always and everywhere and all I ever wanted was to make you shut up”, Kakashi rambled, the fingers holding Obito’s hand curling into themselves. “I just - just didn’t know that that was the way I wanted to shut you up.” Obito laughed a little, but quieted himself down again. “And when I saw you after the game… I was riled up you know? From the failure and the loss and you are there and you tell me you care… I just blacked out and… you know.”
“Well I do care for you, idiot scarecrow. I didn’t even know how much until you waved it in front of my eyes.” Obito pressed Kakashi’s hand and the other boy looked up with a slight smile in the corner of his mouth. “That doesn’t change the fact that you annoy me beyond repair, alright?” Kakashi said, a grin now painted over his face. “I just like it when you shut up.” Obito crooked a brow: “Huh? You think this means I can tolerate your nonsense now? I just want you to understand that there are better things to do with your mouth.” They laughed when they kissed again. A few more minutes passed of tasting and touching, until the bell rang again to remind students that lunch time would end in 10 mins. Obito’s fingers were still entangled in Kakashi’s and for a moment they just both stood there looking at each other. “So what now?” Obito asked, using his free hand to gently stroke Kakashi’s silver hair out of his face. “What do you suggest?” Kakashi asked.”Hmm,” Obito hummed, “Maybe we could go after school to have some Ramen somewhere.” Kakashi pressed his hand, but frowned his face: “Why do you decide what we eat?”“Because I actually made Nationals and you didn’t”
Obito pricked out his tongue and Kakashi let out a “Ha!” They both grinned at each other at the delightful teasing they’d always enjoyed so much. “Well, bask in your glory now”, Kakashi waved with his free hand, “You Volleyball freaks will be exposed against other schools anyway.” Obito laughed: “Ha, idiot scarecrow, you still have no idea what you’re talking about.” They turned to leave their corner, their hands still held together. “Come to think of it, maybe you should start doing volleyball, considering how high over the net you kicked that ball.” Kakashi knocked Obito into the shoulder.
“Shut your face, crybaby.”

since shisui's future besties with itachi, how would shigure approach that particular situation and the two siblings
in this au, shigure is 7 years older than shisui, 12 years older than itachi (shisui and itachi have a 5 year age difference), by the time the big ole massacre comes around there's already the obito thing that needs to be resolved.
(that causes a cascading effect)
(also, if things go well, there shouldn't be a need to specifically account for the shisui&itachi debacle)
=
shisui knows he has an older brother ('half-brother,' his mother corrects every time). he vaguely remembers visiting grandfather kagami in that old house, from when the village was first built.
fuzzy in how sudden drizzle dances off the streets, a fading toddler memory.
his older brother, shigure... he remembers him like a poorly crafted illusion - the way the academy taught them how to identify genjutsu. sunlight threatened to dispel him.
he's here in auntie mikoto's home, as unexpected as his namesake.
"i am able to watch over them, oba-san," the rhythmic, exacting manner that shigure speaks punctures the stilted silence in the room.
auntie mikoto smiles, but shisui can see the reluctance behind the face. "i do not wish to trouble you on your leave," she responds, as caught up in the strange cadence as everyone else he hears speaking to his brother.
"it is no trouble. i am on leave, after all."
the decision is made for auntie mikoto when shigure finally looks at shisui.
"shisui, please bring itachi."
seeing his name (and his little cousin's name) shaped by that frowning mouth is jarring. he throws a small glance at auntie mikoto for further clarity, but she busies herself refilling their tea. left with nothing, he goes to do as requested.
by the time he returns with itachi in tow, auntie mikoto has left for the police station. shigure is still sitting at the table, teacup in hand.
itachi's curious eyes blink, solemn face betraying no changes as his sharingan activates to stare at this odd stranger in his home.
"itachi, that's rude," shisui admonishes with a rising, unexpected embarrassment in his gut.
"rude," his older brother agrees, and it takes shisui a second to realize his albino red eyes were not so. whatever passes between both shigure and itachi does pass, and both pairs of eyes fade back to normal.
"this is my older brother, shigure," shisui announces. "auntie asked him to watch us."
itachi, as always, is quiet and accommodating. he settles at the table with no fuss.
"next year, you are attending the academy. is that correct?" shigure asks itachi. a sinking feeling comes out when shisui can almost see uncle fugaku mirroring shigure's position with itachi.
"yes," itachi answers quietly. after an off-beat pause, he volunteers, "father has been training me."
"shisui," shigure segues, and he finds himself snapping to attention, "your genin team is on standby. correct?"
"sensei was needed at the front," shisui explains. "we have keep up with training and help with lower ranked missions if able."
shigure finishes his tea and gathers the tea service while he stands. "we shall continue like so, then - training while you two are under my care."
as he puts away things in the kitchen, his voice lists out into the living area, "at least two mealtimes, warm-ups and cool-downs, physical training session, sparring, observation training, leisure time, self-care, sleep. have i missed something?"
shisui was following the habits ingrained by his team's schedule. itachi basically stayed on the training grounds besides meals, bathing, and sleep. or he wandered the clan library whenever uncle fugaku was guaranteed to pull an all-nighter at the station.
a new schedule was going to be inconvenient, likely.
"no, shigure-san," itachi dutifully answers for them both. not that there was room for argument.
his older brother comes back out from the kitchen, gives them a quick glance, and beckons them towards the door. he grabs the parasol that was leaning against the door. "no sparring or further physical training today," he says. "lunch first."
he lets them pick what to eat, and leads them out of the compound under his parasol. the older clansmen in the street do a double-take, stare, and then quickly nod and look away. it's weird, but shisui counts it as fortune when one of the more annoying elders doesn't approach either him or itachi.
(the older man carefully crosses the road, keeping his eyes forward. shisui never knew how to feel about his other cousins calling his brother a ghost. but what else can he be?)
at the restaurant, it strikes shisui that his brother is real. he passes them menus to look over, eyes patient as shisui and itachi give each other cautious looks.
"take your time to order. please pick what you like. i will pay, of course" shigure states. he is snacking on the spiced peanuts that were given as appetizers, looking more animated than shisui has ever seen.
it's not a momentous decision to be made, but shisui finds himself wanting to choose carefully. he sees itachi going through the same motions.
"shigure!"
a loud voice calls out, and suddenly an inuzuka teenager appears at shigure's back. his brother lets out a small noise when the inuzuka throws his arm over his shoulder.
"yubi-san," shigure greets.
"i heard about... well," inuzuka yubi clams up before he barrels through the pause, "hatake's dogs told kimaru, and kimaru told me - i'm sorry about obito."
his dog, kimaru, stands up on its hindlegs to look shigure in the face and lets out a low "boof".
"thank you."
"you're fine, though, right?"
"unhurt, but on leave due to the situation."
"yeah, yeah - the whole hush-hush deal with your clan." inuzuka yubi narrows his eyes at shisui and itachi. as feared as the sharingan eyes are, the full attention of an inuzuka is competitive in being unnerving. "baby relatives?"
"younger brother, shisui; younger cousin, itachi."
the server appears with their orders, having to maneuver around inuzuka yubi's sprawl and eyeing him with mild annoyance. yubi doesn't pay attention to that, indulging himself with stealing bits from shigure's set lunch.
"babysittin'?"
"please do not be rude."
"shigure-nii is training us," shisui feels like he needs to come to his brother's defense.
"'observation training', yeah?" yubi prods with relish.
both itachi and shisui nod.
"shigure, let me tag along! i wanna gossip, too!"
gossip?
"no," shigure cuts off, but his pushing of the rest of his lunch towards the inuzuka contrasts with the abrupt answer. "i wish to spend time with just shisui and itachi, first."
("fine," yubi accepts readily, snatching the lunch and preparing to leave. "call for me if you need another body around!")
shisui finds himself slowly feeling the same way, over the course of lunch. at shigure asking itachi if he'd like a dessert, any discomforting feeling from earlier has dissipated. he looks forward to finally spending time with his brother, too.
#inquiry#Anonymous#verm bits#project: double bastard#shigure's diction is relatively stiff and formal (like a japanese language textbook) bc that's how he learned in his (my) past life#and when learning in this life he spoke like that and all the adults spoke to him like that (out of etiquette for orienting a 'sleepless')#so now it's the default way that he speaks#can't swear bc he doesn't know how to lol#that is until he joins the general forces but it's not as effortless as previously#adds to a lot of his mercurial mood bc 1) heightened emotions and lowered threshold (uchiha brain chem blegh)#and 2) frustration at not being able to express himself as he completely wishes#observation training is just people watching and gossiping lol#but it's always healthy to learn about people#this takes place post kannabi bridge mission#tldr it still goes to shit and obito 'dies'#some things were set in motion beyond shigure's ability to change it#just realized most of what i've posted has been outside povs of shigure#rest assured that the dichotomy of shigure's thoughts vs comportment is just as wack as zyx

WARNING: This post contains yandere and violent themes (mentions of murder and brainwashing) and other toxic and creepy behaviours that can be triggering and uncomfortable to read. So read at your own risk. This work is purely fictional. I do not condone this toxic behaviour irl.
Fandom: Naruto
Pairings: Itachi x Reader | Shisui x Reader | Sasuke x Reader
Status: Headcanons and scenarios mixed hybrid, requested.
Ask: Scenario where Yandere!Itachi, Yandere!Shisui, Yandere!Sasuke and Yandere!Obito realizes that they all have feelings for you and since they're family, they decided that they are going to share.
A/N: I’m didn’t add Obito to this scenario because I don’t see this dynamic working with him in the mix. Although Obito is an Uchiha, frankly speaking, Itachi didn’t ever trust him. Sasuke used him for his own means didn’t care about him other than that either way. As far as Shisui is concerned, he never really interacted with Obito.
Itachi and Shisui are best friends, and Itachi and Sasuke are siblings (who do care for each other). Sasuke is stubborn about his own ideals but he can still be persuaded by Itachi, and given that Itachi and the Uchiha clan respected Shisui a lot, Sasuke would do too. So, a dynamic with these three choosing to co-operate is plausible. But with Obito.... not really. I just don’t see how he would fit in this scenario. So, hopefully this explanation clarifies why Obito wasn’t added to the scenario.
No beta, we die like men. I wrote this at like 2 am so idgaf about grammar errors atm ^.<
Your background: To be in a position where you can interact with all these three simultaneously, you would have to be part of the Uchiha clan yourself. The only other way might be that you’re Itachi’s classmate and progressed exactly like he did. But then, it just feels like copying and pasting Itachi’s character and that’s no fun.
No ‘duplicate version of another character’ in this household. So there’s two choices for your background that can nonetheless lead to the same scenario. Thus, you can choose whatever floats your boat: 1) you’re the first daughter of the main branch of another clan of your choice, and for some time now, your clan and the Uchiha clan have been planning to form an alliance together. What better way to do that than to arrange a marriage between the two first children of the main branch from both clans that “coincidentally” have to be the same age?
2) You’re an Uchiha child, born to parents who are from one of the side branches of the clan. There isn’t many other kids to interact with, and despite being a side branch member, your father is one of the most respected shinobi in the clan. So, your future as a ninja is given, and with his interactions and meetings with Fugaku, he takes you along with him. As a result, your introduction with Itachi is inevitable. And so by extension, you will also meet Shisui and Sasuke. And given your father’s good relationship with Fugaku, mayhaps your parents went ahead and arranged your marriage with Itachi behind your back and not notifying you yet.
PSA: For the age balance, you are Itachi’s age in this scenario. Shisui is 2-4 years older than Itachi and Itachi is 4 years older than Sasuke. Having a maximum of 8 years age gap if you were Sasuke’s age, or Shisui’s age, would be a lot LOL. Besides, Itachi would be the mediator between Sasuke and Shisui, so you building a relationship with him first makes the most sense.
Introduction / Meeting
Itachi
You and Itachi are forced to spend time together as ‘playmates’ while your parents discuss ‘official business’ (the arrange marriage) with Fugaku and Mikoto. Itachi is overly polite but there’s an icy coldness underlining his polite greetings and one-word answers he gives to your questions when you try to start a conversation.
You aren’t dumb. You were raised with high expectations placed on your shoulders so although you’re not a prodigy at his level, you have more than enough intelligence to know that he’s patronizing you. And unlike him, you aren’t an immature coward who hides behind their passive-aggressive remarks. Whatever you have to say, you communicate it bluntly. So, you don’t hesitate to spew out what you really think of him (a coward who takes his frustrations out on others aka you, who is also in the same situation, instead of facing his problems), and leave his pretty boy face behind in shock.
You were five when this happened.
Sasuke: Overtime, your ‘playdates’ with Itachi became a norm. You were forced to visit him many times and spend time with him given that he is your future husband. (You don’t know that yet, but at this point, Itachi has his suspicions that something is up).
His baby brother is his entire life. Sasuke makes him smile in the way no one else does, so its no wonder you met him eventually.
You were first held Sasuke was he was about fourteen months old. He was a small, chubby, innocent little thing with his already haughty attitude. He had no problem crying in the arms of the people he didn’t like, which was almost everyone outside of his immediate family. But when you held him, despite Itachi’s warnings that “he doesn’t like everyone” but he instantly liked you (much to his displeasure), you instantly became attached to him. Then in the following years, you babysat him a lot. He was the cute little younger sibling you wanted but never had, so you spoiled him to bits. And with the attention and love you gave him, Sasuke loved you too. Not to mention, unlike everyone else in his family, who picked Itachi over him, you picked him over Itachi.
How can he not fall in love with you?
Shisui: More often than not these days, Shisui would silently watch and observe Itachi. For a six years old, it was terrifying for him how he was already adapting to the shinobi lifestyle is so easily; being an emotionless robot and extremely talented.
But, over the past few days, gone were the seemingly emotionless robot. Instead, he had changed into a boy who acted like how a six year old was supposed to act: whiny, pouty, and frustrated (to an extent), but happy at the same time. It was entertaining for him to watch Itachi’s expressions shift from one to another every moment as he grumbled about you underneath his breath. Shisui was ready to tease him about it, but you had beat him to it.
You had appeared out of nowhere and were hosting the two-years-old Sasuke on your shoulders for a piggy back ride. No one was given any time to react, before rude remarks were slipping out your lips that just humiliated his precious friend into a fumbling mess.
Itachi had tried to get back at you, he really did. But your mouth ran like a sailor and you had a witty remark prepared for everything. It was such a contrast to the “perfect princess” show you put on before your and his parents. And each time, your response was more embarrassing which eventually made him lose his cool. Seeing him flustered, despite how much he loved you, little Sasuke tried to jump to his nii-san’s aid. Shisui was prepared to snicker and chuckle to himself, if he it wasn’t for the most beautiful sound he had ever heard: your laughter. It was so raw, pure, genuine and innocent, he was instantly immersed. Barely anyone from shinobi clans, and given how they were raised, acted so open. And you brought out a different side to Itachi -- it was intriguing for him to witness.
He wanted to get to know you more. He wanted to hear your life more. He wanted you to share your secrets with him on how to bully Itachi so easily. So immediately, he put out his hand and gave you a wide grin.
“I’m Shisui. What’s your name?”
Realising their feelings
Shisui: Shisui knew he loved you ever since your first laugh. It was love at first sound. However, with the respect to you belonging to his best friend, he would never make a move on you.
Maybe, there might be some lingering touches here and there that lasted a bit too long between ‘friends.’ Maybe sometimes he was harsher on you during your training spars so he would have an excuse to touch you and help you bandage up your injuries. Maybe sometimes, he ‘jokingly’ wrapped his arms around your waist and kissed your cheek to ‘get a rise out of Itachi’ and not because he wanted to touch you.
But he never made a move on you because he knew you were Itachi’s. And as long as you were still his friend and spent time with him, he didn’t care too much.
But he should’ve known better. Just as how he can understand Itachi and cares for him like he is his brother, Itachi is the same towards Shisui. He knew how Shisui felt about you, and although one part of him just wanted to you have all to himself, it didn’t feel right that Shisui had to hold himself back when he needed you too. If only, it wasn’t for your clan, and the Uchiha, and their damn village that believed in monogamous relationships, then he would happily share you with Shisui.
Itachi: There were many rules and obligations Itachi has to adhere to due to his clan. Although he did them, he didn’t want to. He hated it. His thoughts were different from his actions so he was constantly experiencing cognitive dissonance. But, you weren’t part of that. For some reason, when he was eleven and his suspicions were confirmed by his parents and the clan elders that you were set up to wed him when you both turn thirteen, that was one thing he didn’t hate or didn’t want to do. In fact, it was alarming for everyone in the meeting how easily he obliged.
Confirming how he felt towards you, it honestly did not surprise him. He had assumed this was the case for a while. Ever since you called him a coward due to his habit of upholding a facade, he tried to be more honest. Not in front of his clan, evidently, but to the people that mattered. Shisui, Sasuke, you, and himself.
The old Itachi, had he not met you and fell in love with someone, would have buried his feelings without a care. But for you.... it was a different story. He acknowledged his feelings and never tried to get rid off them. How could he? You were the perfect lover for him. You got along swimmingly with Shisui. You took good care of Sasuke, and his younger brother was so attached to you. You were an exceptional kunoichi, put up the perfect facade before your own parents and his, and weren’t afraid to challenge him and speak your mind.
And best of all? You were already promised to him. So, he saw no reason to bury his feelings for you.
Sasuke: Sasuke always knew he loved you.
Ever since he can remember, you had always been by his side no matter what.
His father didn’t pay attention to him. His mother did, but she scolded him too when he just wanted to spend time with Itachi.
Itachi spent time with him but lately, he has been ignoring him. It’s not the same. And him and Shisui always leave him behind to get things done that they say he’s “not mature enough to know.”
But Sasuke does know.
He knows what they talk about his and your back because thinks of those things too. It’s everywhere: princesses, their prince, their love story and happily ever after.
He wants to kiss you to show you how he loves you like the couples in fairy tales. He does. Despite his nerves that are causing fluttering butterflies in his tummy, he builds up the courage to have his first kiss with you.
But you’re faster than him. You just move your head so he kisses your cheek instead, and then laugh out loud before ruffling his hair and telling him, “you’re adorable. But you should save your first kiss for your true love.”
He likes being adorable for you, but why won’t you understand?! You are his first and only love.
There will be a day when you finally understand that.
Sharing You:
ok.... listen.... Uchiha clan massacre (and yours too for scenario A) but both Itachi and Shisui. And although its mission issued by the damn village, that’s not why they’re doing it. It just so happens that its the perfect solution to all their problems because they get rid off the obstacles in their way, and they will have to leave the village. They can take you away far, away from everything, so you only have them left.
Obviously, they will take Sasuke with them too. Except this time, there’s no also hurting and torturing him and enticing him to seek revenge. If anything, when Sasuke is horrified, Itachi tells him the truth. There’s lies as well, but, they would need to brainwash him to some extent so he willingly stays with them. Itachi tells him of how if the clan lived, then he would never get to be with you, or see you again because they were going to hurt you.
“Do you want that foolish little brother? You made big claims to make [Name] yours and protect her, so are you really going to mourn those who were going to take her away from you? She’s my bride, and because I care about you, I will share her. But for that to happen, you need to listen to me and Shisui and not be pathetic as to get in our way.”
Itachi had a way with his words, and it was terrifying how much they could influence Sasuke. And now that they had, and no one else was going to be in the way -- not any clans, the village -- nothing.
It is just going to be you and them for the rest of your life.

I don't understand how some people are saying that Kakashi's story wasn't as sad as the others..
1- Most likely his mother died giving birth to him based on the fact that his father said that no one died as young as her and there was no memories of her at all.
2- At the age of 4 his father has been disgraced for doing the right thing which is saving his friends and the whole Village looked down on him and treated them like trash which drove sakumo into severe depression
3- Few months later his father who was all he had killed himself and Kakashi a 4 years old child was the one to find his corpse and report his death to the Hokage, in Sakumo's funeral 4 years old Kakashi heard everyone at the funeral trash talking his father calling him, weak, traitor, disgrace including the friends he saved, they literally said "first he abandoned his mission then he committed something so weak as self harm, what a disgrace, we didn't even ask him to save us"
4- The village treated him as a son of a traitor which forced him to act only by the rules in fear of being like his father he forced himself to leave all of his emotions and childhood behind.
5- At this point Naruto and Sasuke had the 3rd hokage kinda looking after them (although he did a bad job at it) then assigning iruka to look after Naruto but Kakashi had no one at all he had to go fishing everyday in order to survive because he couldn't afford to buy food, he taught himself to cook from books and eat the fishes he cought himself everyday.
6- When he finally tried to let go and feel like he had friends and people who cared about him he was put in the exact same situation that killed his father choosing between the mission that would stop the war or his friends, his friend (Obito) died saving him telling him to protect the girl he loved (Rin) as his dying wish and giving him his eye which constantly reminded him of the pain he felt that day.
7- Few months later the girl who was his only friend now (Rin) and who he promised his dead best friend (Obito) to protect chose to use him as a weapon to suicide, the Sharingan forced him to see Rin's blood on his hand everytime he looked at it.
8- Drowning on his pain, self beating, guilt, nightmares and waking up to see Rin's blood on his hand that wont wash off no matter how hard he tried like all of that wasn't enough agony his sensei who was the last person remained of the closest thing to family he had also died leaving him all alone drowning further into his depression.
9- he had PTSD and severe depression for more than 10 years, he wanted to die but he didn't wanna die the same way his father died so instead he was taking the most dangerous solo missions in Anbu hoping that one day the enemy would out number him ad kill him
10- When he finally saw a little hope by teaching team 7 and getting to love them Sasuke left the village and yet again he blamed himself for something that wasn't his fault and felt like he lost yet another loved one.
He spent his whole life suffering between the graves of all the people who had been precious to him.. he almost lost everything and everyone he loved. He never had a childhood at all and as an adult he tried so hard to distance himself from the world and hide his pain behind acting nonchalant which wasn't how he truly felt because he was afraid of getting too close to people just to end up losing them again not only that, his friend that he spent his whole life idolizing and living by his memory turned out to be the master mind of the biggest terrorist organization and declared the war, he had to fight him then watch him dying all over again.

Ok but back on yesterday’s thoughts.
Sakumo packing up and leaving the village after his disgrace. Thinking about taking Kakashi with him, but ultimately deciding to leave his son so that he might have a better life.
One where he still has his friends and a village that will protect him
Kakashi waking up one morning to find himself alone in the house, and while at first he thinks his father may have finally been sent on a mission he begins to realize that it’s not the case
People are still bad mouthing him but it’s worse now
There’s whispers of ‘deserter’ and ‘rogue’ and the glares they shoot Kakashi’s way are full of anger and hatred.
Kakashi coming to terms with the fact that his father just up and left and he didn’t even take him with him. He left him behind as if he doesn’t matter at all
Kakashi still coming to hate his father because he feels abandoned and forgotten, so he falls into the thought process of viewing his father as a failure. Someone the village is better without.
Kakaahi hating his father for YEARS until Minato tells Obito the story of what happened and Obito declares that he thinks the White fang was a hero. Kakashi’s still bitter about being left behind of course, but hearing someone refer to his father as a hero for saving his teammates finally opens his eyes to the reality of the situation.
It helps him find respect and love for the man who left him behind, and instead of wishing never to see his father again Kakashi starts searching for him. Looking for clues of his wear abouts and activities.
He never leaves the village himself, he can’t. The supports he has there are all he has to fall back on and by age 14 he has lost too many people to deny himself the last few he has left in the village
But being in the village doesn’t stop him from searching
