rewatching LoK, i'm being reminded how much I dislike the.... the brothers, mako and bolin, yanno? they're such underwhelming characters on basically every level. it'd almost be impressive if they weren't in every episode and didn't annoy me so much ugh
#bean talking into the void#also this show in general is very flawed lol#cool things about it but the choice to structure it more like a#prestige tv show#as in each season follows One Story#is... i wouldn't say it was a bad choice but i feel like you can see the growing pains#switching over from the episodic structure of ATLA#s1 while flawed is solid#it knows what it's trying to do even if it doesn't always stick the landing#season two feels like a season-long filler episode LMFAO#which is hilarious because a lot of world-building stuff happens#but tonally it's all over the place#serious political plots interspersed with the B Plot following Tenzin and his family#on vacation???#so fucking random#but anyway back to roasting the brothers#i find bolin just annoying in general his brand of comedy totally doesn't work for me#but at least he has like#a personality that's consistent#mako is sooooooo blah#the writers have no idea what to do with him and he comes across as having a strikingly boring personality#with no defining traits other than being wishy washy (and a boot licker)#it FEELS like he was meant to remind viewers of Zuko#at least in appearance if nothing else#another broody pretty boy to latch onto#but he has literally nothing interesting to actually get invested in#sure he's got his tragic backstory and he's the 'older brother who took care of his younger brother after their parents died' boo hoo#but that's all just exposition and it's barely shown in a way that feels illustrative or emotional in any way that matters#(other than him comforting bolin in s1 after he KISSES THE GIRL HE KNEW BOLIN HAD A CRUSH ON lmfaoooooo)#(what a good big brother lmfao)

Update: I am writing Reaper as shockingly uneventful and the plot relies heavily on me writing this scene between Geno and Error (I think Reaper doesn't grasp the severity truly until after *that* reunion. And so it's a dogpile of realizations (Angst Moment) only after Geno and Error have *their* angst moment- ) and I don't think I can write their angst tonight cuz I haven't really processed their personalities fully?
Anyways, gonna hop back over to see if the Nightmare's acquisition of Killer drabble or Error gets hired by Night drabble are looking any better.

Pepper scared the shit out of me by hiding in his molt-hammock for A Literal Week and I thought for sure he’d moltstalled but no he was just in there getting swole
#Spider#He's huge now#And Definitely a boy lol his pedipalps have the little end bulbs For Sure#Also I say huge but his abdomen shrank a Ton because y'know - he didn't eat for like a week and a half!#(Jumping Spiders eat a couple times a week generally - very different from tarantulas)#So he's Very Skinny with a big head lol he looks ridiculous#I put him in his feeding enclosure as soon as he'd let me - he ran back to his napping hammock the first time smh#And he's Very interested in food rn no shock there - very delicate bites tho he's very polite#I imagine he was also taking some time to harden up in his molt hammock - at a glance his fangs look dark but he's still quite tiny so#His pattern is beautifully vibrant as well :D He has a kind of gold flake look to him! Very pretty#I'll share some comparisons later - Have Plans First#Also Pokeball project is going very well in usual form I have expanded my intentions with it and am excited#I have six finished currently and another eleven planned lol

hellblazer/nbc constantine: pub food and hearty shit, meat and potatoes and stews and fish. appreciates a good meal, the effort/time it takes to cook it, and the social rituals that revolve around it. also has a taste for the finer things in life and will scam his way into high-end restaurants to fuck around and embarrass everyone there while eating goooood keanu constantine: runs on dunkin, lox bagels, and not much else. cannot keep things in his fridge or they will rot before he remembers to eat them. obliterates a mcdonalds hash brown in a single bite
