Love that despite Oltyx's grumping about how every other necron around him sucks and he only likes maybe 2-3 other people, he's the one necron in canon who's had guardians and protectors from every walk of life. First his family (Djoseras, and once upon a time, Unnas), then the nobles of varying stations (e.g. Yenekh and Parreg), all the way to those of lowborn origin (Neth and Pakhet) who are dearly devoted to his well-being. Outsiders too, like Mentep and Zultanekh, not to mention every Flayed One by the end of his story!

It doesn't surprise me that the final mode of society he settles on as Valgûl is more egalitarian than literally any other necron dynasty out there. Despite the universe trying its best to crush Oltyx's ability to relate to other people out of him, Oltyx was more cared for than he let himself believe, and had more respect than he gave credit for. When it comes down to it, this was a boy who was very loved, and I'm glad he came to terms with it at the end 😭💖

underrated shadowgast moment that i haven't seen anyone talk about:

after lucien kills vess and meets them officially face to face, the mighty nein begin to trail him across eiselcross. they decide to call essek after learning that lucien is likely collecting threshold crests, to which essek seems surprised, since he's also in eiselcross, not too far from where they're heading. immediately after calling him, caleb goes up to his secret rooms on the eighth floor and whispers to himself (to essek): what are we going to do about home? can--can i trust you? should i trust you? we could make it better... if you want to.

Muhteşem Yugi

My unique form of brainrot hit strong this morning and now I'm trying to imagine what Yu-Gi-Oh! deck would each character of MC play.

Funnily enough I'm pretty sure show Süleyman would unironically try and possibly like modern trading card games.

He already likes gaming, money is not a problem, Yu-Gi-Oh! has styles for everyone and a most common critique of the game as it is today is that depending on matchup (and luck) sometimes all you can do is watch your opponent play solitaire for a while then lose, and the image of the guy stringing a five-minute combo while Ibrahim sits sad-faced at the other side of the table is TOO perfect.

Also the original manga/anime story is about an absolute monarch reincarnating and saving the world.

I guess it depends on how strict the show version of him would feel about certain themes, aesthetic, since YGO is ostensively about magic and summoning, has deities and demons as cards and the plot of the world features "Egyptian Gods" being real, but hey, I can see that.

OR he'd just make an edict to reskin the game lol.

Sadly I don't have an answer already for my initial question although I THINK a Harpy Ladies deck could fit Hürrem nicely.

Like, the Spell Card summoning the main monster is called "Elegant Egotist", COME ON.

Thoughts:

I think it's interesting how different of a character Marvin is in the Altrverse comics as opposed to Marvin's Magic.

Which makes sense, MM!Marvin is basically just Sean, whilst Altrverse Marvin is so far his canon.

But compared to MM!Marvin, who is very loud and boisterous, bro Altrverse Marvin is quiet

Like dude does not talk that much, fairly visually expressive, but my man is a lot more quiet.

Like the few instances of him talking a lot is when he's with someone more close, like Moira, Sunday or Ramesses (who are all very chatty around Marvin, Moira and Ramesses a lot more so) and typically if he's enthusiastic. But he would much rather listen or, with someone he doesn't like, stare in the distance with an annoyed expression than talk. He's definitely a more 'talk when necessary' type of guy. Which makes sense in the magic business where words are powerful. But it's kind of funny cause if you got into a disagreement with him he'd probably just stare you down lol.

There are pages where Marvin doesn't say anything, it's just interesting. Real quiet kid in Vol 1 too.

hmmm thinking about the different traumas Chase and Marvin are suffering, and how alike they are, how both of them have something, someone in their head, messing with their perceptions without giving any reason or purpose, thinking about how both of them have the life where they're content, domestic, they were happy, everything was fine.

Then came IRIS.

Then came the Twins and the Magic Circle.

Thinking about how they both intrinsically understand what it's like to have your mind messed with, to not be able to trust your own perceptions, not be able to trust anything but your own gut feeling.
