Speaking of Barry being able to read Leonard Snart scarily well, imagine that Barry notices how Snart reacts to people Barry knows, and files that away in his opinions of that person
Barry is in the cortex with someone he finds kind of annoying but harmless, Snart walks in for Definitely-Not-Flirting-While-Doing-Business Reasons, and starts lowkey acting like this guy is an Immediate Threat that he's trying to act cool around to not set him off. And Barry immediately knocks like 5 points off of the "how much do i trust this guy" ranking. Subtly starts telling him less things, looks into what he's doing on the downlow, treats him as potentially suspicious And turns out... The guy does have bad intentions
Leonard comes in and meets some of Barry's new friends/coworkers, and clearly seems to mark one of them as more trustworthy/less of a threat than everyone else. And when Barry needs help or someone to confide in, he goes to that person over everyone else
Barry comes in to Saints and Sinners and sees a regular he's run into before, but hasn't seen interact with Snart. He thought the guy might be pretty cool. But today he walks into them talking, and Immediately sees that Snart is closed off, jumpy, does NOT like that guy in his space. And Barry immediately takes cues off of that, turns the guy down when he later asks to have drinks together next time Barry drops by Saints
If Snart seems unnerved by someone Barry knows, Barry trusts his instincts. Even if Leonard never says anything to Barry out loud, he still takes note of that. If Snart likes someone, or just thinks they're reliable, Barry will trust that instinct.
Even if Snart doesn't say his feelings out loud, Barry trusts him so innately that he will listen to Snart's instincts when it's clear he's feeling a type of way
#so on that note.#imagine all of that being true AND#snart being around and showing up during the harry-being-around and pre-zoom-reveal stuff#he meets “jay” one (1) time and he picks up that this is a manipulative liar IMMEDIATELY#say nothing. plays along.#barry seeing this: oh okay. this guy is NOT SAFE. Got It#also thinking about: snart so subtly putting himself between anyone that he sees as a genuine threat and barry#even -and especially- in Star Labs#he meets Harry. doesnt know what's going on yet but absolutely knows that Dr. Wells was a threat to barry and doesn't trust this guy one bi#is weirdly always between them whenever he's around#comes over more often just to watch this situation#listen. barry trusting harry would have been a VASTLY different journey is snart had been allowed to stick around#bc he would have been subtle about his deep distrust of harry#but barry would have noticed Anyway#and he prolly would have still trusted harry eventually#once he proved himself and stuff#but the plot would not have happened the way it did in canon#if barry's not-boyfriend-but-not-enemy who's protective and a damn good read on is someone is a threat -esp men- was around#yeah so. just thoughts#barry allen#leonard snart#the flash tv#coldflash#i mean. not EXPLICITLY#but to me this is coldflash#there are romantic VIBES to how well barry would read snart and how much snart wants him safe

you know, its not brought up in fics often but ted is extremely well read. he doesnt brag about it, but hes read everything from f scott fitzgerald's b sides to ayn rand's doorstoppers to the sixteen book Ender series, etc etc etc. Ted reads about as much as we see Beard reading (which. in my head is a trait that was passed on, a new focus to sharpen the mind and keep him out of trouble and his mind off drugs, something Ted offered up as a coping mechanism for when his own dad died, a way to have fun and adventure and escape without ending up in jail like Ted himself had a handful of times before, scaring the bejeezus out of his ma.)
this turned into a mini fic and i lost my train of thought but point is, Ted reads So Much and more people need to pick up on this in fics please and thank you.
#ted lasso#hes got an artistic soul!#but also anyone whos fav book is the fountainhead must be both well read and stubborn as a bull#its a slog and thats coming from someone whos read both infinite jest and les mis#im getting through it slowly but surely. mostly to stretch my story endurance before jumping into atlas shrugged#also. yes i know we have no evidence that he read all 16 ender books#but having had read them myself i know in my heart of hearts that ted absolutely finished every one of them with gusto#probably on the bus to and from games with his team back in the US#no wait hold on. he was a backup punter right? that means LOTS of time sitting on the sidelines waiting for a whole bunch of nothing#lots of time was spent watching the plays and the team and formulating im sure (which is also probably why he trusts nate so much in the#beginning. bc that used to be him sitting on the sidelines taking it all in) but also theres long stretches of no play in american football#during which he probably read like a demon to keep his grades up and keep his scholarship#so that this ma never had to worry about him away at school. He wasnt going to get into trouble anymore not like he did in high school#he had to be the man of the house and gosh darn it was he going to do it with gusto#which meant good grades and learning about life and people and spending all that free time the right way#therefore: books. an easy habit that keeps him out of trouble and keeps his mama proud. plus itd be easy to hide from coaches under his pad#if they ever had a problem with it (which im sure they would at first but once he proved he was paying attention and wormed his way in#with the team even as a reserve well. they were less eagle-eyed after that concerning the paperback-shaped lumps under his jersey)#anyway have another mini fic i guess lol#im feeling a tad verbose today

A Brief Rundown of the IRL Ithaca Saga (to the best of my memory, in probably not chronological order)
jorge (creator, odysseus) decided it'll be cool to celebrate the ithaca saga with the epic cast via a trip to ithaca, greece
surely nothing can go wrong
mico (telemachus) seemingly found out about the trip with the rest of the fandom. he proceeded to plot a trip to ithaca
the epic cast dealt with multiple broken vans and missed a ferry by one minute. they had to cancel a stream because they were too exhausted
mico made it onto a plane
ithaca got hit by a typhoon, forcing them to move another stream indoors
mico got banned from tiktok. it was reversed
mason (tireseas) asked luke (zeus) to stop the rain. luke refused
the crew hiked up to odysseus' palace. they ran into a roadblock. mason looked into the future and did not see a way around it. (they found a way around it)
the crew found a well and sang their epic songs into it. except jp (crew) who just sang happy birthday
janani (aphrodite) also sang "royal we" into the well
anna (penelope) made it onto the plane to fly out to ithaca
hermes (troy) decided to take a plane to ithaca like a normal human instead of teleporting. he got side-eyed by a woman at the airport as he slept sprawled out in a chair. this quickly became a meme
hermes arrived in ithaca to the delight of everyone except jorge. mico also appeared in his videos. mico still had not updated anything after getting on the plane
anna's connecting flight got cancelled, leaving her stranded in a fancy hotel. she struggled to find the toilet in her hotel room
mico finally updated, claiming he was stuck in munich. mason appears in the video and gives him a water bottle, proving he is lying
the fandom believes mico anyway
mico is forced to post another video revealing he had been gaslighting us basically the entire time and was just delayed in getting to ithaca, that was all
troy and talya (circe), in character, talk about tea. troy says the tea tastes like her father's approval. earle (ares) then asks for 1000 cups and breaks down crying as luke cuts the camera
jorge posts a video apologizing for mico's absence, encouraging him to fly to ithaca, new york. mico appears in the background of this video
mico posts a video saying that he's finally in ithaca, but the crew is in ithaca, new york. jorge appears in the background of this video
jp films a behind the scenes video, calling out "some random guy" who just showed up asking if anyone knows jorge. it's mico
janani sings "royal we" again, but after she says "troy was breached" troy comes out screaming in pain. mico appears in the background of this, filming the video from two points above
it's time for the ithaca saga livestream... except it gets cancelled because the connection is bad and jorge's devices are dying
TL;DR: the gods saw the epic crew in ithaca and went "do you guys think it'll be really funny if we just. recreated the odyssey"

the bet — jason todd

synopsis. it’s harder to keep your relationship with jason a secret from the world's greatest detectives than you thought. (3 times each wayne family member tries to prove that you and jason are together and 1 time they actually do.)
notes. ooc. tooth. rotting. fluff. like 3k words of it and im sick. my first time writing for jason ever yay!

“You know, if you stare any harder, you might actually burn a hole through her head.”
Dick’s teasing voice slices through the comfortable silence between the two brothers, save for the distant sirens and the low hum of Gotham’s never-ending nightlife below them. They’re perched on a rooftop across from an upscale bar, the neon sign casting a soft glow on their suits. Through the massive glass windows, you sit at the bar, leaning in with an easy, disarming laugh as the suspect, some sleazy drug trafficker falls right into your trap.
Jason, crouched beside Dick with his elbows on his knees, grumbles beneath his mask. “I’m not staring.”
Dick lets out a quiet chuckle, shaking his head. “Right. Then I must be hallucinating.”
“I thought we got you checked out for that already,” Jason shoots back, his voice sharp.
Dick winces, placing a dramatic hand over his heart. “Low blow.”
“It was pretty funny.”
Dick doesn’t argue, just settles into a knowing silence, watching as Jason’s hand unconsciously flexes against the holster at his hip.
Jason exhales through his nose, his jaw ticking. “I don’t understand why she has to flirt to get intel. We could just beat the answers out of these guys. Hell, we’d probably get it faster.”
The older vigilante shakes his head. “Yeah, because nothing says ‘covert op’ like bashing heads through walls.” His voice is light, but his eyes flicker to the way Jason’s fingers tighten around the grip of his gun. “Relax. Your sweetheart can handle herself.”
Jason freezes, but only for a fraction of a second. His heart, though, does that annoying thing where it skips a beat, both traitorous and stupid.
Your sweetheart.
Not that anyone knew. Not that anyone could know. As much as he wanted to grab you by the waist and kiss you breathless after missions, he wasn’t about to hand his family more ammunition for their relentless teasing.
Dick, for one, was proving exactly why this relationship stayed a secret.
The silence should have been Jason’s first warning. The way Dick just sits there, absently swinging a batarang between his fingers, watching the bar with an all-too-pleased expression.
“You know,” Dick hums, as if lost in thought, “it’s important to let that special someone know how you feel. Your twin flame. That one person you’ve been pining over since– oh, I don’t know, your youth.”
Jason doesn’t move.
Dick pauses for dramatic effect, then casually props his chin in his hand, his gaze flicking to Jason. A slow grin tugs at his lips.
“Hm. You’re blushing.”
Jason’s breath stills. His eyes snap to Dick, but his head remains stubbornly forward.
“I am not blushing.” His voice is gritted steel. “And I haven’t been pining over her for that long.”
Dick tilts his head, amusement flickering in his eyes. “Huh. Funny.” He leans back with an exaggerated stretch. “I never said who.”
Jason’s fists clench.
Damn it.
His mask covered his whole damn face. There was no way Dick could have seen a blush, no way he could have known.
Jason grits his teeth as realization dawns.
He walked right into that.
Like a lovesick fool.

The next time Jason’s nearly caught is at one of Bruce’s galas.
Jason had grumbled and rolled his eyes when you insisted on attending—something about not wanting to spend the night in a “stuffy ass ballroom pretending to care about Gotham’s elite.” You had countered that it was for a good cause, something you actually cared about, and that Bruce would appreciate the support. Begrudgingly, he agreed.
But, of course, he couldn’t just let you go without making things complicated.
“Matching colors,” Tim observes, arms crossed, his sharp blue gaze flickering between you and Jason.
You school your expression into something neutral. Jason, standing entirely too close to you, does no such thing.
“What a coincidence,” Tim drawls, a smirk tugging at his lips.
“It really was,” you force out a laugh, silently screaming at Jason for his careless mistake.
He had seen your dress before the gala, made a gruff noise of disapproval, and then—without a single word—had left only to return an hour later with a tie in the exact same deep shade of red.
You had almost thrown a shoe at him.
As endearing as the gesture should have been, it was infuriating. He was the one insisting that your relationship remain under wraps, but he was awful at hiding it.
Right now, you can practically feel his warmth radiating onto you, his fingers twitching at his side, itching to settle on your waist. His entire presence screams possessive, yet he’s standing there trying to play it cool.
“Right, Jay?” you prompt, hoping begging he plays along.
“Total accident,” he deadpans.
You mentally facepalm. He is not selling it.
Tim’s smirk deepens, thriving off Jason’s obvious discomfort.
“Well then,” Tim shrugs, barely suppressing his amusement. “If she’s not your date, do you mind if I steal a dance?”
Jason’s shoulders tense. His jaw clenches so tight you’re surprised his teeth don’t crack.
“Go ahead.”
His tone is flat, but you know better. His hands may be in his pockets, but you can see them clenched into fists. His entire body is rigid, like he’s forcing himself to not grab your wrist and pull you back to his side.
You want to laugh. It’s so obvious.
Tim takes your hand and whisks you away onto the dance floor before Jason can change his mind.
He’s is a smooth dancer, you’ll give him that. He moves with confidence, leading you effortlessly through the slow, sweeping steps of the waltz. The ballroom around you is a blur of glittering gowns and dark suits, the music swelling in a soft, romantic rhythm.
You try to focus on the dance, but you can feel Jason’s stare.
It’s burning into you from across the room, a weight against your spine that makes your pulse spike.
Tim notices. Of course, he does.
“I know I have a grand total of one song before your guard dog comes back,” he murmurs, tilting his head slightly as he spins you. His fingers press lightly against your back, his mouth close to your ear. “So, between you and me… you can just tell me if you’re dating.”
You groan. “Why is everyone so obsessed with this?”
Tim pulls back just enough to give you a pointed look. “Because the two of you have been dancing around each other for years. I’m in pain just watching.”
“You’re so dramatic.” You roll your eyes, trying not to laugh. “Buzz off and focus on your own romantic life, Drake.”
Tim just grins. “Yours is so much more interesting.” He spins you gracefully, his smirk growing as he catches sight of Jason still watching. Still fuming.
He tugs you back in, dropping his voice to a whisper. “So tell me… are the two of you together? Because I’ve been sensing–”
“You’ve been sensing jack shit, Drake.”
The voice is low, sharp, and pissed.
You barely have time to process Jason’s arrival before you feel a hand—his hand—on your waist, warm and grounding and claiming.
Tim barely gets a breath out before Jason smoothly steps in, seamlessly taking his place as if he had planned this from the start. His movements are precise, natural, possessive. The transition is so smooth it’s like the dance was meant to end like this—with you in his arms.
Tim watches, looking utterly delighted.
“Wow,” he muses. “Not even a full song? Possessive much?”
Jason doesn’t acknowledge him. His grip on you tightens, and you feel his breath against your temple as he leans in just enough to send a shiver down your spine.
You should step back. You should do something to break the illusion.
But you don’t.
Because his hand is on your waist, his other hand holding yours just right. His body is solid and warm against you, moving with you effortlessly like he was made for this. The scent of leather lingers on him, comforting and intoxicating.
He is looking at you like you are the only person in the room.
And you don’t even realize you’ve stopped breathing until he speaks.
“I don’t like how low his hands were.”
The words are gritted out, low and quiet, meant just for you.
Your heart stumbles. You should not find that as attractive as you do.
“Jason–”
He exhales sharply through his nose. “He knows. He’s just trying to het under my skin.”
You blink up at him, heat rising to your cheeks. “Jay, it was just a dance.”
His fingers flex against your waist.
Your breath catches in your throat. The words send something electric through you, something dangerous. You don’t have time to respond.
Because Tim, damn Tim, is still standing there, watching the whole exchange with way too much satisfaction.
“Well,” he muses, rocking back on his heels. “That was interesting.”
Jason finally acknowledges him by glowering in his direction.
“Get lost, Drake.”
Tim grins. Because while he may not have gotten a confession, he definitely got confirmation.

After your encounter with Tim, you and Jason had agreed to lay extra low. No unnecessary risks, no slip-ups. No feeding into their suspicions. That plan, of course, went up in flames, quite literally when you almost lost a damn arm.
Jason had nearly lost his mind.
Now, standing in the training room with Cassandra, you tug absentmindedly at the hem of your sleeve, trying to ignore the throbbing pain in your arm.
Cass, however, does not.
“That’s one nasty burn,” she winces, crouching slightly to get a better look at the angry, blistering wound.
You shift uncomfortably under her scrutiny. “It’s nothing, really,” you say, waving a dismissive hand. “I was just reaching into the oven to grab some muffins, and my arm accidentally hit the hot rack.”
Jason, standing beside you with his arms crossed, snorts.
“Yeah,” he mutters. “Told you to be careful this morning.”
The second the words leave his mouth, his body goes rigid. His eyes widen slightly, realizing his mistake.
Shit.
Cass doesn’t even blink before zeroing in.
“What was that?”
Jason schools his expression into mock confusion. “What was what?”
“Don’t play coy, Todd.” Cass’s voice is sharp, her dark eyes locked onto him with an intensity that could crack glass.
Jason ever so stubborn and entirely unwilling to admit defeat, doesn’t back down.
“I don’t know what you mean.” He doesn’t flinch.
Cass tilts her head, unconvinced. “I heard the two of you were on patrol pretty late last night.” Her gaze flickers between you and Jason, noting every shift in body language, every subtle tell. “So tell me, Todd… what were you doing with [Name] this morning too? Did you, perhaps, sleep together?”
Silence.
The tension in the room thickens, settling over you like an impending storm. Your pulse spikes. Jason’s jaw locks. Cass’s eyes remain unmoving, sharp as a blade.
The stalemate stretches too long.
Before Cass can press further, you jump in.
“What Jason meant,” you say quickly, forcing an easy laugh, “is that our patrol ended at around six in the morning. I invited him over for a snack, is all.”
You will her to believe it.
Jason exhales subtly beside you, relaxing ever so slightly at your quick save.
Cass, however, is not satisfied.
“You never invite me over for snacks,” she states, arms crossing over her chest.
You frown. “I’m sorry, Cass. How about next time?”
She considers for a moment, expression unreadable, before nodding.
“I’ll be there at sunrise.”
You smile, nudging her shoulder. “It’s a deal.”
Cass eyes the two of you for another long second before finally, finally, grabbing her bag and exiting the room.
The moment the door clicks shut, Jason lets out a heavy breath.
Without warning, his large frame topples over yours, his solid weight pressing against your back as he buries his face into the crook of your neck.
“You’re gonna kill me one day,” he mutters, lips brushing the sensitive skin near your ear. His voice is low, gravelly, full of something raw and unguarded.
His arms encircle you, pulling you flush against him.
You bite back a smile, leaning into his warmth.
“Have I told you how much I love you?” His lips graze the nape of your neck, lingering.
“Not nearly enough,” you murmur.
It’s a lie.
Because Jason tells you every single day.
If not with his words, then with the way he looks at you. With the way he touches you like you’re the most precious thing in the world. With the way he freaks out over every little injury, over every near miss, like the thought of losing you would be enough to unmake him.
And God, if he wasn’t so damn obvious about it.

Your charade finally comes to an end on a rare night. The entire family gathered around the Wayne Manor dining table. It had taken weeks of convincing, countless rescheduled plans, and Alfred’s unshakable will to make it happen. You silently applaud him, watching as he moves seamlessly around the table, topping off glasses and making sure everyone eats.
The conversation is lively but controlled, an unspoken agreement hanging in the air: no fights. Bruce was actually eating rather than brooding, Damian had only thrown out two insults so far, and Tim was at least half-awake. For a Wayne family dinner, this was practically peaceful.
No one notices that you and Jason are sitting a little too close, they’re all too engrossed with the hearty meal and a rare opportunity of having a civil conversation with each other.
Jason, ever the attentive boyfriend, wordlessly reaches for the serving platter and places another thick slice of roast onto your plate. Then, he carefully spoons asparagus onto your dish, making sure it’s coated just enough with hollandaise sauce just the way you like it.
“Eat up, sweetheart.” His voice is low and smooth, meant just for you.
Your heart does a little flutter at the name, and your lips tug into a smile as you pick up your fork.
But then a familiar voice turns the entire night around.
“Forgive me if I’m wrong,” Damian’s voice cuts through the table, as sharp as one of his throwing knives, “but doesn’t ‘sweetheart’ have romantic implications?”
Silence.
A few forks hover mid-air. Bruce pauses as he cuts into his steak. Dick, who had been talking to Cass, freezes mid-sentence. Tim, who had been half-heartedly scrolling through his phone under the table, suddenly looks very awake.
“No, you’re absolutely right,” Dick leans back in his chair, grinning like he just hit the jackpot. His eyes flicker with amusement as he clasps his hands together.
Jason’s chewing slows. Your eyes flicker to his face, trying to gauge his reaction. This was it. The moment he always dreaded.
“Todd just called [Last Name] ‘sweetheart,’” Damian supplies, ever helpful, pointing at the two of you with his fork.
Cass and Tim share a knowing glance, both nodding in quiet confirmation.
Dick gapes. “In front of my salad?”
Jason, rather than looking panicked, looks entirely unbothered. Too unbothered. His jaw moves as he stuffs another carrot into his mouth, chews deliberately, and then–
“It’s our one-year anniversary next month.”
Chaos erupts.
“WHAT?”
“I KNEW IT!”
“Called it.”
“Took you guys long enough!”
Tim smacks the table, rattling the silverware. Dick throws his hands in the air. Cass laughs silently, shaking her head as if she’s just been vindicated after months of waiting.
Stephanie, meanwhile, grabs Tim’s arm and shakes him. “You owe me fifty-bucks, Drake.”
Bruce, to his credit, looks unfazed, save for the slight twitch of his eyebrow. He sets his knife down and looks at Jason with a measured expression.
“Well done, son.”
Jason stares at him for a moment before giving him a single nod, as if they’re discussing business strategy rather than his romantic relationship.
You’re still flustered under the sheer weight of all the attention, but then Jason’s fingers interlace with yours under the table. Warm. Steady. Protective. He gives your hand a light squeeze, and just like that, your nerves settle.
The chatter continues, voices overlapping.
“I suppose that means I won the bet?”
The room stills.
Jason’s head snaps up. “Wait. What?”
Tim, not even looking ashamed, shrugs. “Technically, nobody won. We all knew already.”
Damian scowls. “The condition was that someone had to prove it. I did that tonight. Therefore, I win.”
Jason straightens in his chair, voice dangerously low. “Hold on. You had a bet?!”
You grimace, bracing yourself as the night takes a turn.
Tim leans back in his chair, smirking. “Oh, yeah. This has been going for months.”
“How much?” Jason demands, his eyes narrowing.
Dick, grinning, raises his glass. “A hundred bucks.”
Jason turns to you, betrayed. “Did you know about this?”
You shake your head furiously. “I would’ve rigged it to win if I had.”
“Unbelievable,” Jason mutters, rubbing his temples.
But then he feels your thumb brush gently over his knuckles, and suddenly, the noise fades into the background. He turns to you, the frustration melting from his features as he takes in the warmth of your smile, the way your eyes are only on him.
You squeeze his hand. “Well,” you say softly, just for him. “At least we don’t have to sneak around anymore.”
Jason exhales a low chuckle, shaking his head before turning to you fully. There’s adoration in his eyes, open and raw and entirely unguarded. His lips form the silent words, ‘I love you,’ and though no sound escapes, you hear it in the way his eyes soften, in the way his fingers tighten just slightly around yours. Your breath catches, warmth blooming in your chest, and without thinking, you smile radiantly, mirroring the love on his face.

a/n: Oh my god, I have no self control. I love writing WS!Bucky and I'm glad so many people have been enjoying it too. So, I finally got to a smut. I won't write the typical 'aggressive' WS (if I ever do it will be like a blue moon situation) because imo I don't see that, plus...I like this better lol. Edited lightly but ignore any missed mistakes pls ty ;; wc: 5.0k
You felt like your life was a complete mess.
But it was nothing compared to his.
James, Bucky, Soldat...each name he had gave him the same reaction.
Nothing.
His brow might furrow deeply, eyes glazing over with confusion as he stares intently at the floor, his gaze drifting slowly from side to side as if attempting to piece together an impossibly complex puzzle laid out before him. When his name was called, no recognition flickered across his features, no familiar warmth lit up his face.
He wasn't truly any of the identities that had once been his. Not James with his easy smile, not Bucky with his loyal heart, not the cold precision of the Soldat.
Instead, he existed in a nebulous space between all these versions of himself, these names and personas washing over him like waves, each one bringing with it fragments of memories that would surface briefly before slipping away like smoke through his fingers. Nothing concrete would stay, only wisps of who he used to be.
He was stuck, trapped in this liminal space between identities, neither one thing nor another.
You watched helplessly as he struggled, how he would desperately grasp at each fleeting memory that surfaced, trying with all his might to hold onto even the smallest piece of his past. But inevitably, tragically, even these fragments would dissolve like morning mist, leaving him once again adrift in that haunting space between what was and what is, lost in the void between his many selves.
His handwriting often too shaky to make out among the journal’s pages.
For whatever reason, the soldier had taken to you, of all people. Not even Steve could reach him without causing further distress and confusion to the poor man. Heartbreak glossed the blonde’s eyes each time Bucky rejected Steve's gentle advances, careful attempts to trigger some form of memory, some spark of recognition from their shared past, only failed.
Your own heart ached watching these interactions, seeing the pain etched across Steve's features with every failed attempt at connection and the ever growing agitation from the soldier. You didn't want to step between them, this bond that had survived decades and wars, and you couldn't explain why he had taken such a peculiar liking to you over anyone else.
For the soldier’s sake, you took your new role without complaint.
Countless hours in the medical wing of Avenger's tower proved exhausting for the both of you. Hours of treatment on his end seemed to stretch without end, punctuated by moments of crisis when you found yourself having to wrestle with him every time someone new came into the room.
Your voice grew hoarse from spitting sentence after sentence of reassurance, constant streams of gentle reminders that no one here was going to cause him harm, that he was safe, that these people were here to help. The mantra became as familiar as breathing, though no less important with each repetition.
The soldier experienced dramatic swings between states of intense panic and unsettling calmness, making each medical examination completely unpredictable. Sometimes he would remain completely still, frozen like a statue during the procedures, while other times he would thrash and struggle with every ounce of strength to escape from the men in white. His behavior was noticeably different with female medical staff, even when they wore the white coats - he showed a marked willingness to cooperate with them much more. The behavioral change made your stomach churn with the obvious implications.
As days turned to weeks, he gradually began to show signs of adjustment within your quarters. The decision to let him stay had come naturally, as every attempt to establish separate living arrangements had proven futile…he invariably found his way back to your space.
Every time.
It became a predictable pattern: regardless of the hour, whether in the dark of night or dawn of early morning, he would somehow make his way back into your room and by your side. He was satisfied sleeping on the floor, he settled himself at the foot of it or beside it, he liked the small area tucked between the wall and your mattress, a small hidden space for him to form some sense of security.
It had been several months since the day when you first took him in, watching as he struggled daily with the fragments of his shattered identity. The psychological wounds were still raw and festering, making it impossible for him to process or accept who he truly was. Every morning brought new challenges, every evening ended in confusion and frustration.
Together with Steve, you dedicated countless hours trying to help him piece together the puzzle of his past life. Steve brought out old photographs, shared stories, and created detailed timelines in journals, but despite all your patient guidance and gentle encouragement, the poor man remained trapped in a void of forgotten memories. He couldn't recall anything from his previous life, not even the smallest detail.
The mounting frustration grew in every line of his face, in the way his hands would clench and unclench as he'd violently shove away the journals and carefully curated photos. His eyes would dart around the room like a cornered animal, accusing Steve of fabricating elaborate lies as his mind wrestled between what felt true and what his broken psyche insisted was false.
"Shut up!" Bucky suddenly exploded, sending the leather-bound photo album flying across the room with enough force to leave a mark on the wall. He launched himself up from his position between you and Steve, his entire body radiating tension and hostility. As he whirled to face Steve, his eyes were wild with confusion and fear, nostrils flaring with each rapid breath.
Steve was clearly struggling to maintain his composure through all of this too. Though he tried his best to remain patient and understanding, watching his oldest and dearest friend transform into someone who didn't even recognize him was taking an enormous emotional toll. Rising slowly to meet Bucky's challenge, Steve's face was a mixture of hurt and frustration. "I'm not lying," he insisted, his voice thick with emotion, "Your name is James Buchanan Barnes - I'm your friend!"
"No!" The soldier shouted back, his chest heaving rapidly with each labored breath as he stood there, his long dark hair falling in tangled strands over his face while he shook his head violently in denial.
"You know me!" Steve retorted passionately, his voice cracking with emotion as he faced the resistance before him, desperately trying to reach through to his old friend.
"No, I don't!" The words came out as a raw, desperate cry, filled with confusion and pain.
You wanted to intervene in their intense confrontation, but for the moment you stayed silent and watched the two of them from your position, your heart racing as you observed their exchange, wondering if maybe Steve's unwavering determination could finally break through the soldier's programmed shell and reach the Bucky that lay buried underneath all those years of conditioning.
The soldier threw a punch, his metal arm whirring with the momentum as Steve quickly dodged out of the way. The poor soldier had thrown such a powerful and uncontrolled swing that it sent him stumbling forward, his boots scraping against the floor as he struggled to maintain his balance. You immediately rose to your feet as you realized this confrontation was rapidly escalating. You had been able to keep the soldier at bay, his unstable emotions were pretty manageable up until now and you didn’t want them to get out of hand.
"Okay, enough! Steve, stop-" You warned with urgency in your voice, desperately wanting the blond man to create some distance so the agitated soldier could have space to regain his composure.
"Soldat...easy, it's okay." You placate in a gentle voice, carefully watching his tense form as he sharply turned around to face the two of you again, his chest heaving with each breath.
"He's lying!" The words tore from his throat, anger, fear, confusion filled his tone.
"It's okay...it's all okay," You soothed, focusing all your energy on defusing the situation. You held your hands out toward him in a peaceful gesture, maintaining steady eye contact despite the intensity of his gaze. "You're fine...just take a breath." Your measured, calming tone seemed to pierce through his agitation like a shaft of light through storm clouds.
Gradually, the harsh, rapid breathing that had been wracking his frame began to slow, your non-threatening demeanor and passive body language helping to anchor him back to a more stable state.
"I think that's enough for today..." You muttered quietly, glancing back at Steve with a weary expression. He was still visibly frustrated, his jaw clenched and shoulders tense, but he had enough sense and self-awareness to know it was time to back off for now. Your attention shifted back to the soldier, carefully and gently guiding him down the hallway to your room to give him a much-needed break from the intensity of the memory session.
He was noticeably stiff when he walked, his movements reverted to being mechanical and hesitant. You had no idea what thoughts were racing through his mind, but you hoped you could help ease some of his obvious distress. Days that were more emotionally tense and unpredictable tended to disturb his sleep patterns significantly more than usual, restless nights filled with nightmares and you had to tend him through them. You didn’t mind, but it was exhausting after a few weeks.
Once inside your bedroom, you quietly shut the door behind you and watched as he began to relax ever so slightly, the familiarity of your quarters helping to settle his frayed nerves bit by bit. He slowly trudged over to your bed, his footsteps still carrying that residual tension, before sitting down heavily on the edge and looking up at you with an expression that made your heart ache - his eyes shy and pouty like a kicked puppy, clear with shame and uncertainty.
"M'sorry...I was…bad. I shouted." He muttered softly, his eyebrows deeply furrowed in distress, "I just...can't..." His hand gradually balled into a tight fist and before you could react, he struck himself in the head, hitting over and over as he sat there - delivering short and sharp knocks to his temple that made you wince with each impact.
"Soldat, hey, no. Stop it right now." You quickly grasped his wrist firmly but gently, staring at him with intense concern in your eyes. "We talked about this so many times...don't hurt yourself like this. You don't deserve any punishment...none of what happened was your fault. You just got a bit overwhelmed by everything, and that happens to everyone, even me." You soothed in a gentle voice while maintaining your grip, determined to keep him from continuing to hit his head. “You don’t need to hurt yourself anymore, okay?”
He didn't reply verbally, but the gradual lowering of his mechanical arm provided enough reassurance and comfort for you to finally release your grip on his wrist. With a heavy exhale, you pushed yourself up from your position, muscles protesting slightly from the tension. "I think it's best if we stay in tonight, all things considered." You observed thoughtfully, taking measured steps toward your closet to retrieve some fresh clothes, "I'm going to take a shower, okay?" You turned back to look at him after seconds of silence, only to find his piercing gaze fixed intently on you, his eyes blinking slowly as if processing your words. "Soldat?"
"Да." The response came swiftly and automatically from his lips, prompting you to turn and make your way deliberately toward the attached bathroom. As you walked, you couldn't ignore the sensation of stress gradually creeping through your body, tension coiling through your muscles like a spring. You knew that a hot shower would at least provide some relief, hopefully working to unknot the tight muscles that had formed across your shoulders and down your back.
When you emerged from the steamy bathroom later, towel pressed against your damp hair as you scrunched the moisture from the strands, you stopped in your tracks when you crossed the threshold - the soldier was spread across your bed, his body taut with obvious need as he desperately sought some form of release.
He was alone, his eyes darting around nervously.
Your room smelled nice, a gentle and comforting aroma that made him relax ever so slightly. He felt deeply estranged sitting perched on the edge of your bed, knowing he shouldn't be on the furniture. The memory of that lesson being violently beaten into him surfaced with crystal clarity, he felt a sharp phantom pain at his side, electricity fueling his body.
Should he get down onto the floor where he belonged? You hadn't said anything about it when you left, hadn't seemed to mind his presence on the bed, so maybe just this once it was okay?
“Just this once, you mutt.” He spat at the soldier, perhaps its handler felt some sort of pity for it that day. It was just grateful it didn’t have to curl up on the splintering wooden floor by the bed.
After several long moments of internal debate, he decided to stay on the bed.
You were nice, you wouldn’t hurt him.
He laid back against the bed, a soft sigh escaped his barely parted lips. The sheets smelled incredibly good, carrying your distinct scent; your shampoo, your natural musk that gradually seeped into his sensitive nose as he hesitantly buried his face against your impossibly silky pillow.
God it smelled so good.
Try as he might, he couldn't quite pinpoint the exact notes of the scent, his senses having been shot and dulled for so terribly long. But he knew deep in his bones that it smelled good, smelled sweet and pure and perfect.
As he clutched your pillow closer, hugging it tightly to his chest, he suddenly felt something unfamiliar stirring in his gut, like a sharp fluttering sensation that made his breath catch. His trousers felt uncomfortably tighter and he glanced down at himself with wide eyes, blinking in confusion at the sight. Seeing his body react this way was deeply odd...he hadn't experienced anything like this in such a long time. His handlers always had to give him pills to get this kind of response, otherwise it simply didn't happen.
Growing increasingly curious despite his lingering apprehension, he cautiously felt himself through the fabric and was genuinely surprised to discover that it felt good. It felt...really good, wonderfully good. And it didn't hurt in the slightest. It had always used to hurt so badly before, so why didn't it hurt now? Each time one of his handlers touched him, it hurt a lot. He remembers sharp pain, it made him nauseous a lot of the time. But now…he didn’t feel that pain, only this fluttering feeling.
He couldn't help himself any longer, his control crumbling entirely. Before he fully realized what he was doing, he had frantically ripped his own pants off, stumbling awkwardly as he struggled to kick his heavy combat boots off in order to tear the restricting black pants completely off himself as he penguined around your room. Bouncing precariously on one leg and growling in mounting frustration, he nearly toppled over onto his ass in his desperation.
He stared at his crotch, his thick cock twitching and leaking fluid as it throbbed at attention. The neglected part of him begged for his touch, the way it sent neurons rapidly to his brain to do something almost hurt. The soldier was desperate yet hesitant, he hadn't been allowed to touch himself in HYDRA, it was forbidden for him to ever do so. Only his handlers had that luxury, and it never felt good.
The poor thing felt hot and he bit back a strangled whine as he finally allowed himself the intimate touch he'd been denying for so long. His trembling fingers hesitantly explored bare skin, trailing down his abdomen and to his neglected cock.
He carefully grasped himself, unsteady and out of practice, his hand moved up and down the length with tentative strokes as he tried to replicate what he knew from distant memories. He squeezed and turned his hand with experimental motions, though the sensations remained frustratingly muted, falling short of what he desperately sought. His behavior replicated that of past hands, mechanical and clinical touches that had never prioritized his pleasure or comfort.
His frustration mounted steadily as his pent up desire overwhelmed his senses, leaving him breathless and yearning for more. The soldier moved back to your bed with shaky steps, his cock felt heavy, his balls full and needy for some kind of release. He buried his face deep in your pillow once more, inhaling deeply to chase that fluttery feeling that he felt earlier when inhaling your scent.
As you stood there, freshly showered with droplets of water still clinging to your skin, the plush towel wrapped securely around your body - you were surprised at the sight before you. The soldier on your bed moved with such raw, unrestrained desperation, his movements so primal and needy that you couldn't help but wonder if this was his first taste of pleasure, as if he hadn't ever experienced the sweet release of an orgasm before, or hell, even remember what it was like.
The man clung onto your pillow, face buried in it as his hips jut into your bed, the comforter balling up under him. His grunts were muffled against the pillow, his thrusts against your sheets were sloppy and jerky. You could tell he was just trying to reach climax, but none of his actions would get him there. He'd only cause himself enough friction to stay hard.
He lifted his face up gradually, his flushed cheeks burning bright and his dark eyebrows drawn tightly together in concentrated pleasure. His lips were glossy and parted, glistening with saliva as he practically drooled with desperate need, his entire body trembling on the edge of climax. His frantic thrusting began to slow to an erratic rhythm as waves of tension visibly radiated through his muscular form. The soldier's heavy-lidded eyes fluttered open hazily, only to suddenly lock onto your watching form.
In that moment, his entire body froze completely rigid, like a marble statue caught in a compromising position, as the full realization dawned across his features that you had discovered him rutting so shamelessly against your bed.
Assuming the worst, he quickly got up and leaned back, exposing himself without realizing it. His cock angry with need, leaking thick fluid as it tried to get its host to relieve the growing pain of orgasm denial. Your eyes were naturally drawn to it, the thick member twitching and staining your favorite pillow.
His face was flushed a deep crimson with overwhelming embarrassment, his eyes cast downward to avoid meeting your gaze as he desperately tried scooting further back on the bed. The poor man was clearly consumed by shame, not just from staining your belongings but from experiencing such intense, primal need for the first time in what felt like countless decades.
You had always been careful with him before, understanding and respecting his past experiences and trauma. But right now, watching his reactions and body language, it seemed like he was silently pleading for your intervention.
And honestly...the sight of him this way made your pussy feel wetter by the second.
"Awe, baby...are you struggling?" You asked in the softest, most nurturing tone you could, slowly making your way to the bed, careful not to startle him. "Don't worry, I know it feels weird, huh...I'll help make it better."
Your hand gently reached out and ran up from his knee to his thigh, the bare skin feeling warm and inviting against your palm. Your fingertips traced delicate patterns as they moved upward, savoring each moment of contact he allowed you to have. Your eyes glanced down at the scars marring his beautiful body - silvery lines etched across his skin like a canvas of survival. He didn't like looking at them, always trying to hide them away from view, but you didn't mind. They didn't make him any less pretty to you .
You reached his pelvis, your touch feather-light as you looked up through your lashes to meet his eyes. They were glossy with need, dark with desire as he stared down at you - his broad chest heaving with painful anticipation, each breath making the muscles in his abdomen tense and relax. "Please..." he spoke meekly, voice barely a whisper, his bottom lip trembling as he gripped the sheets beneath him, desperately resisting the overwhelming urge to rut upward towards your teasing touch.
"I'll take care of you," your voice cooed, gently reassuring him as your heart fluttered rapidly against your ribcage as your gaze drifted downward to rest upon his erect cock. Your fingertips traced light patterns up the length of his thighs, the touch both teasing and tender, avoiding those silvery scars. You pressed against his thighs, carefully guiding his legs to part.
Fuck, he was beautiful.
Pretty pink head just weeping for your touch, twitching as it laid against his belly, sticky fluid webbing into his neat, curly happy trail. Pretty pearls flowing out of him as the blushed tip became a darker, angrier red with the company of your touch.
His balls hung heavy, so so full, so you gently kneaded his sac. This earned a loud whine in response to your warm hand palming against him, massaging the sore testicles. "Please, please...please, I need..." His pretty voice was so delicious as he begged for something, he just didn't know what.
"What do you want baby...tell me, I'll give it to you," you whispered softly against his skin, your warm breath causing goosebumps to ripple across his flesh. The man beneath you was struggling to maintain his composure, his chest rising and falling with rapid, shallow breaths. Tears welled in his glacial eyes as he trembled against the soft, cotton sheets, his fingers desperately clutching at the bedding beneath him.
His voice caught in his throat - a deep, ripping cry of need as you slowly placed tender kisses along his knee. You took your time, savoring each press of your lips as you traced a path along the sensitive inside of his thigh, feeling the muscles quiver beneath your touch. Just before reaching the spot he craved your attention most, you paused, letting the anticipation build a bit.
"I won't tease too much, I know you are needy." You finally grasped him, letting your hand move along. Bucky squirmed, moaning and desperately rutting up into your touch for more. You kept a slow pace, steadily stroking his hard flesh so as to not overwhelm him. Your thumb gently caressed his tip, circular motions spreading those pearly beads all around and coating the tip in a thick lubricant.
You let your thumb gently press and swipe up through his slit, applying just the right amount of pressure to make him quiver. The sensation overwhelmed him, causing his body to tremble uncontrollably as waves of pleasure coursed through him. His back arched dramatically off the bed as he cried out in pure ecstasy, every nerve ending singing with delight as it felt so good. You felt so incredibly good, your touch electric against his sensitive, neglected cock.
This was entirely new territory for him - he had never experienced anything that came close to this level of intensity before. Physical contact without pain was a rare occurrence, and when he did get touched in the past, it was never on his terms. But this - this was something entirely different, something that made his whole body feel alive with sensation. The pleasure built and built until it felt like brilliant fireworks were exploding in his belly, sending sparks of pure bliss radiating through his entire body until his fingertips and toes tingled with static numbness.
You let out a soft breath, a smile quirked at your lips as you viewed the mess of white ropes that hung against his belly and draped on your fingers from your stroking. He came already, you barely touched him and he fucking came. Disheveled, he took deep breaths and looked up at you, his eyes peeking open as a small whimper emitted from his throat.
However, he was still hard.
You wondered if super soldiers could go more than once without a refractory period.
"What do you want, Bucky?" you asked the trembling soldier, your voice barely above a whisper. His breath hitched as you leaned closer, eyes searching his face intently. "What do you want...tell me. You get to choose. You decide what happens now," you murmured, watching his reactions carefully as your hands slowly traced gentle patterns across his thighs, fingers trailing deliberately up and over his pelvis, thumbs following the natural V-line. You applied just enough pressure to his shaking muscles to make him gasp, feeling the way he tensed and relaxed under your touch.
The poor man could barely form a coherent thought, his mind clouded with desire. His hands frantically grasped at your arms, fingers flexing against your skin as he tugged and yanked lightly, desperately trying to pull you on top of him. His voice came out rough and pleading, filled with raw need as he begged, "More, more...more..." His lip trembled and his eyes watered, you had never seen him like this, so taken over by the cloud of need.
"You want me to ride?" you asked gently, your fingers unwound the towel still wrapped around your body, letting it fall softly and you tossed it off beside the bed. Your skin glowed in the dim light as you leaned forward, your voice dropped to a calm whisper. "I'll ride you, all you have to do is sit back and enjoy..."
The words ghosted across his skin as you traced a delicate path with your lips, starting at his sternum and working your way up, each kiss lingering longer than the last. Your mouth found the sensitive spot where his neck met his shoulder, and you could feel the thundering of his pulse beneath your lips.
His breathing had grown ragged and uneven, chest rising and falling rapidly beneath your touch. His arms encircled you, fingers pressing into your skin as if he were anchoring himself to reality, terrified that if he loosened his grip even slightly, you might fade away and he’d wake up in a cold cell again.
Before you knew it, his cock was poking your slick entrance and you sunk down on his length without wasting a beat, impaling yourself on his thickness. He let out a shuddering cry, his glossy eyes widening with unbridled desire as his trembling hands instinctively shot out to grasp your plush, inviting hips, fingers pressing deeply into the soft flesh.
Oh, this felt...fuck, he struggled to find words. The warmth enveloping him, the wetness made his head spin, the softness of your cunt threatened to undo him completely.
You squeezed him so good, your inner muscles contracting rhythmically around him like your body was purposefully attempting to milk him of everything he had stored away, drawing out every last drop. You carefully began to move on him, lifting your hips up slowly before letting gravity guide you back down, savoring each sensation as you felt him stretch and move your insides. The fullness was overwhelming - he was absolutely massive in you, spreading you wider than you'd ever been, yet somehow he fit perfectly, like your bodies were made for each other, two lost pieces of a puzzle finally united.
Your body moved in perfect harmony with his, each roll of your hips drawing out beautiful moans in response. The way you naturally undulated against him, finding an intoxicating rhythm that had him gasping and trembling beneath you. His hips bucked up desperately to meet your movements, seeking more of that friction that felt so damn good. The soldier's hands gripped you tightly, his fingers still digging into your skin as he struggled to maintain what little composure he had left.
"C..can't...gonna..." His voice strained and broke, he buried his face into your chest as he thrusted up hard - warm, gooey cum shooting out and coating your cervix and inner walls, pooling out of your cunt and coating him as he thrusted slowly until he stopped and remained tucked inside.
He cried out against you, his body trembling and clinging desperately as waves of intense pleasure coursed through him, his second release of the night overwhelming his senses completely. His fingers dug into your skin as he shuddered, overcome by the intensity of sensations he had been denied for so very long.
"I've got you," you whispered soothingly, your arms wrapping protectively around his broad shoulders. One hand found its way into his hair, fingers threading through the soft strands as you gently scratched his scalp in a comforting rhythm. His face remained buried against your breasts, and you could feel the warm wetness of tears against your skin.
A seed of worry took root in your gut at his emotional response, but you quickly reminded yourself that these tears were caused by relief and pleasure, not pain or distress. His hurt body and tortured mind were simply overwhelmed by the rush of positive sensations - after decades of existing without any form of physical pleasure or intimate touch, it was natural for him to be overcome by these emotions when finally getting to experience pleasure again.
Bucky sobbed.
His body trembled violently as if the bitter chill of winter had taken his body all over again, leaving him shaking uncontrollably in the aftermath. He clung to you, unwilling to release his grip on you. The safest he had ever felt was here, wrapped in your arms, where nothing else seemed to matter.
His broken mind, a constant battlefield of screaming thoughts filled with pain and unrelenting anger, was silenced - if not just a little - when he was in your arms. The constant torment of pain and guilt became manageable right here by your side, tucked away against your chest and arms.
No longer lost. No longer wandering aimlessly.
Thanks for reading. -em 🌿

“SHE’S NOT THAT FAST — SHE JUST GETS LUCKY SOMETIMES. THAT’S ALL IT IS. RIGHT CAR — RIGHT TIME. LUCKY GIRL SYNDROME.” — a senior mclaren engineer.

EXCERPT FROM LUCKY GIRL SYNDROME.
by yn yln.
when i signed with mclaren in 2013, i thought i was living my dream.
i was the only female driver on the grid, paired with jenson button—a world champion, a household name, and, to some, a certified heartthrob. they already loved calling him “promiscuous” in the press, and suddenly there i was: the pretty young woman who happened to drive fast. to them, we weren’t drivers—we were a brand. two good-looking people in shiny cars. and that label stuck.
from the start, i wasn’t taken seriously. i’d show up to meetings and realize they’d given me the wrong time—jenson would already be there, halfway through strategising with the team. he always looked uncomfortable when i walked in late, knowing i wasn’t told the same things he was.
“you’re here now,” he’d say, smiling politely, trying to ease the tension. i liked him. he wasn’t the problem. he was respectful, and if anyone made an offhand comment about me, he’d interject with a joke to cut through the awkwardness. but even his kindness couldn’t fix what was fundamentally wrong.
my first podium was a moment i’d worked my entire life for. it was a race where i drove faster than jenson, faster than most of the grid. but the photo they posted of me on the team’s social media wasn’t of me crossing the finish line, or holding my trophy.
it was me in the garage, leaning over the car, my race suit unzipped halfway down. the caption didn’t even mention the podium. it was just… my body. i couldn’t stomach looking through the comments.
i’ll never forget calling my dad that night. he was furious. he asked me why i didn’t make a fuss. why i didn’t storm into the team’s office and demand better treatment. but what he didn’t understand was that it wasn’t that simple. you’re the only woman in a room full of men, and they’re already waiting for you to slip up. waiting for you to show too much emotion, to prove them right when they think women are too “dramatic” to handle the job.
so i kept my head down. i smiled at the cameras, laughed at the jokes, and drove my ass off every weekend. and every time i was faster than jenson, every time i outqualified him or finished ahead, they’d say, “she got lucky.” when he beat me, they’d say, “see? this is why she doesn’t belong here.” it was a game i couldn’t win.
being the first woman on the grid wasn’t just about being fast. it was about being everything they didn’t expect me to be: calm, collected, agreeable. i couldn’t afford to push back because i knew they’d use it against me. so i swallowed it all, every little slight, every dismissive comment, every missed opportunity. i thought if i just kept my head down and drove, eventually, i’d earn their respect.
but now, looking back, i realize… they were never going to respect me. not really. not as a driver. they respected what i did for their brand, for their image. they respected how well i played the part. but as a person, as an athlete? i was just another pretty face to them. nothing more. and that’s what hurt the most.

Discussion Thread:
“Lucky Girl Syndrome” by YN YLN: Thoughts, Reactions, and the Drama It’s Stirred Up.
──────────────────────
u/checkeredpast: just finished lucky girl syndrome, and WOW. she did not hold back. calling out mclaren for the way they treated her, the “wrong meeting times” sabotage, and the completely inappropriate podium photo… i can’t believe this stuff actually happened.
u/fastlaneandfurious: the part where she talks about the team using her as a “walking brand strategy” instead of a driver broke my heart. like, they wanted her to be the face of the team but refused to actually treat her like a serious athlete.
u/f1fanfiction: let’s talk about the fact that she outsold literally every sports memoir in history. 2 million copies sold in the first week. yn doesn’t just break records on the track, apparently.
u/nosteeringallowed: her calling out the media for labeling her as “lucky” after she beat half the grid is ICONIC. “they didn’t call my male teammates lucky—they called them skilled.” like, yes queen, drag them.
u/ynsthegoat: what got me was the chapter about the infamous team dinner where they wouldn’t even let her speak during strategy talk. then she went out and out-qualified jenson the next day.
u/overqualifiedandundervalued: “they said i was lucky, but luck doesn’t drive faster laps or win races. luck didn’t make me the first woman to win a championship—it was skill, it was hard work, and it was me.” CHILLS. absolute chills.
u/gridgossip: is no one going to talk about the tea she spilled on that one driver? the “polite but condescending” comments she got from him while he constantly undermined her. we KNOW it’s about seb.
u/wheresthefinishline: @ u/gridgossip no no no, it’s def about fernando. she’s been shady about him for years, and the way she described the “overly competitive teammate who couldn’t handle being outpaced by a woman” fits him perfectly.
u/holygrailpodium: the inappropriate photo after her first podium makes me so mad every time. she’s standing there in tears, holding the trophy, and they choose to post a picture of her leaning over the car with her suit half-open?? disgusting.
u/gaslitandgridlocked: her dad being her biggest defender was such a beautiful part of the book, though. “why do you stay quiet when you’re the fastest in the room?” hit me right in the heart.
u/podiumqueen: not me crying over how she kept driving through all of this, knowing they didn’t want her there. like, the strength it must’ve taken to win races when her own team wasn’t even rooting for her.
u/championshipenergy: the way she calls out how different her career would’ve been if she were a man was SO POWERFUL. “they didn’t need me to be fast, they needed me to be pretty. they got both, and they still weren’t satisfied.”
u/mimosasontherace: i can’t stop thinking about the last chapter where she talks about winning her first championship and how no one in her team even hugged her when the cameras switched off. like, they couldn’t even fake happiness for her.
u/driversanddivas: this book isn’t just a memoir; it’s a reckoning. yn exposed everyone who doubted her and proved that no matter what they threw at her, she came out on top. lucky girl syndrome my ass—she EARNED that title.
u/lightsoutandread: imagine being on the grid right now, knowing you were one of the people she called out. the absolute awkwardness.
u/trophiesandtrauma: if you’re on the fence about reading this, DO IT. it’s not just about racing—it’s about breaking barriers, sexism, and resilience. honestly, it deserves all the success it’s getting.
u/checkeredpast: she’s already announced a limited series deal with a streaming platform. you KNOW it’s going to be messy when they dramatize the “wrong meeting times” scene.

ham1ltonshaderoom: f1 legend and now best selling author, yn yln, took to harper’s bazaar to discuss writing and her career. however, her memoir went viral for more than its record breaking sales. yln mentioned that there was a certain driver that would be her biggest fan in public and then undermine her in public. it has been dubbed ‘x marks the spot’, with the hashtag gaining major traction on social media. what do you think ham1ltons? and who do you think the supposed driver could be?
──────────────────────
‘there was one driver who always seemed to go out of his way to remind me i didn’t belong. he wasn’t on my team, but his presence always lingered—sharp, dismissive, condescending. let’s call him x. in interviews, he’d say all the right things, calling me a “trailblazer” and claiming he respected what i brought to the sport. but in the paddock, it was another story. during press conferences, he’d interrupt me, throwing in some smug joke that made everyone laugh but left me feeling small. once, during a rain delay, he walked past my garage and casually remarked to my engineer, loud enough for me to hear, “well, at least she’ll look good sliding off the track.” and when i won my first race, beating him in the process, he didn’t say a word. no handshake, no congratulations—just a quick glance and he was gone. i’ll never know why he went out of his way to belittle me, but in the end, i didn’t care. that win wasn’t for him. it was for me.’

user1: it’s definitely fernando. they’ve never liked each other, and he’s always been salty when anyone’s faster than him.
-> user2: nah, it can’t be fernando. he’s competitive, but he’s never outright disrespectful. i’m thinking nico.
-> user1: girl that’s the point 😭 x was never openly disrespectful.
user3: okay but what about lewis? we KNOW their relationship wasn’t always great. remember how tense they were in interviews back then?
-> user4: no way it’s lewis. he’s literally said she’s one of the most talented drivers he’s raced against.
-> user5: lewis can say nice things now, but what if he wasn’t like that back then? she didn’t say the guy stayed disrespectful. she also said x was nice in public, who knew what he was saying in private.
user6: everyone’s ignoring seb, but she’s shaded him before. what if it’s him?
-> user7: yn has ALWAYS defended seb. if anything, he was one of the few drivers who actually supported her. it’s not him.
user8: it has to be fernando. the whole paragraph is giving fernando energy, and you know it.
-> user9: nah, i still think it’s nico. remember when he threw shade at her in a press conference after she outqualified him?
user10: you’re all wrong. it’s michael. she’s talked about how intimidating he was to race against, and she never got along with him.
-> user11: yn literally called michael one of her idols. she’d never write about him like that.
user12: y’all are missing the obvious answer—kimi. he’s the only one who would say something that blunt and not care about the fallout.
-> user13: kimi didn’t even talk to her half the time lol. i can’t see him caring enough to belittle her.
user14: okay, what if it’s no one we’re expecting? maybe it’s some random mid-grid guy like grosjean or massa.
-> user15: yn wouldn’t waste a whole chapter on someone irrelevant. it has to be one of the big names. my money’s on fernando or nico.
-> user1: fernando for sure. yn’s always been lowkey bitter about him, and this just proves it.
-> user2: it’s not fernando!! why can’t you just accept that some drivers are cocky without it being him??
-> user3: okay but if it’s not fernando, who else would it be?? the smug comments SCREAM his vibe.
user5: we’re all arguing, but yn’s probably laughing at us right now. she KNEW we’d be doing this.
user16: yn ‘attention whore’ yln.
user17: at least we know it wasn’t my king jb 😻
user18: idk who tf yn is but this tea is so juicy 😭

[setting: thanksgiving dinner, complete chaos. plates of food are half-eaten, wine glasses are full, and cousin jess is recording everything on tiktok. the family is deep into an argument about “x marks the spot,” using jess’s infamous powerpoint as reference.]
uncle bob: jess, i still don’t get why you made a whole powerpoint about this.
cousin jess: because the people need to know, uncle bob. yn’s memoir is the drama of the decade, and you’re welcome for organizing all the evidence.
aunt carol: honestly, it’s that fernando. slide four proves it. all the press conferences where he interrupted her? it’s right there.
aunt fiona: fernando wasn’t that bad. he even congratulated her in, like, 2017. i think it’s nico. slide eight, jess literally wrote “petty king energy” under his name.
uncle hamish: it’s not nico. you’re all overthinking this. i say it’s jenson. didn’t he once call her “intense” in an interview?
cousin matt: jenson literally defended her against the media every other week, hamish. you clearly didn’t listen to slide six.
grandpa: i still don’t understand why this yn person didn’t just punch the guy.
grandma: because she has class, unlike this family. pass the stuffing.
aunt bobbi: wait, what about lewis? slide ten said they were “friendly but complicated.” maybe he was fake-nice to her.
uncle craig: fake-nice? lewis was the only one who liked her, bobbi. slide nine has like five examples of him hyping her up in interviews.
cousin jess: uncle craig, you’re wrong. he was supportive, but there’s that one time he ignored her after she beat him in qualifying. it’s suspicious.
aunt carol: you think it’s suspicious? no way. lewis isn’t smug enough to be x.
uncle hamish: oh please, you’re all just picking names because they sound dramatic. if anything, it was sebastian.
aunt fiona: seb? absolutely not. slide seven shows he called her “one of the best drivers on the grid” multiple times.
uncle bob: that’s suspicious. who compliments people that much unless they’re guilty?
grandma: compliments aren’t guilt, bob. stop eating the cranberry sauce straight from the bowl and get a grip.
aunt carol: you’re all wrong. slide four, people! fernando cutting her off mid-sentence! the man’s guilty as sin.
grandpa: why does anyone care about this? it’s all rich people in fancy cars. sounds like nonsense.
cousin matt: rich people drama is the best kind of drama, grandpa.
aunt bobbi: jess, why is kimi’s slide just a picture of him smoking with “#needthat” written under it?
cousin jess: because kimi’s innocent. everyone knows he doesn’t care about anything but being my dream man.
uncle craig: so why isn’t yn on the slide about drivers who were universally liked?
cousin jess: because she wasn’t universally liked, uncle craig. she was fast, hot, and female in a male-dominated sport. they were all salty.
uncle bob: well, now they’re all posting about how much they respect her.
grandma: of course they are. it’s called covering their asses.
uncle hamish: if i were yn, i’d name names. all this mystery is just fueling conspiracy theories.
grandpa: or she could just leave it alone so we don’t have to argue about it at thanksgiving. what the hell even is f1? is that nascar?
uncle craig: formula 1, dad. jesus, keep up.
grandma (snapping): if someone doesn’t pass me the cranberry sauce right now, i’m gonna be the next x.
[jess pans the camera to her grandma glaring at the table, muttering under her breath as the family keeps arguing.]
cousin jess (whispering into her phone): y’all, my family is losing it over x marks the spot. happy thanksgiving.

ham1ltonshaderoom: an update on the ‘x marks the spot’ speculation. it started over who exactly is x, from f1 legend yn yln’s memoir and it is causing a stir! with former/current drivers taking to social media and journalists to prove their innocence. kimi räikkönen, when asked, said ‘yn deserved every win she got. people talked too much, but she let her driving do all the talking. always respected that about her.’
mick schumacher released a statement via instagram, with a montage of photos of him and his dad with the first female championship winner: ‘my dad always believed yn was one of the most talented drivers he’d ever seen. he admired her strength, her skill, and her ability to prove everyone wrong, time and time again. he spoke so highly of her and what she brought to the sport, and i know he’d be so proud to see her telling her story.’ when sebastian vettel made a rare appearance to the grid, he confirmed that he had bought a copy and thought that he was proud to watch yn ‘make history’.
now the sudden flurry of support is making fans of the sport wonder just who is genuine and who is covering his ass? what do you think ham1ltons?

user1: the way literally everyone is tripping over themselves to prove it’s not them is SO funny. one of you is lying, and we will figure it out.
-> user20: exactly!! the fact that EVERYONE is suddenly posting/talking feels so suspicious lmao. someone’s definitely guilty, and they’re trying to throw us off the scent.
user2: kimi’s response is so him. short, straight, and unbothered. it’s definitely not him.
-> user22: we’re all analysing this, but kimi’s out here just vibing like always. love that man.
user3: mick’s statement is beautiful and wholesome as always, but also low-key throwing shade at the others?? like, ‘my dad always supported her’ is giving ‘can’t say the same for you lot.’
-> user21: honestly, mick’s post is the only one that feels 100% genuine. his dad was always so supportive of yn.
user4: seb really said ‘i bought the book’ and dipped. man didn’t even deny anything outright. sus??
-> user5: nah, seb’s always been a yn fanboy. remember when he called her ‘the most talented driver on the grid’? it’s not him.
user6: the lewis and nico posts are giving major ‘damage control’ energy. both of them trying WAY too hard to sound supportive.
-> user7: facts. lewis called her a ‘trailblazer’ like we wouldn’t notice how cold things were between them back in the day.
-> user17: tbh, i don’t think it’s lewis. yn has said before that he was always encouraging her, and they’ve stayed friendly.
user8: fernando’s post feels so rehearsed. like, when has he ever gushed over yn like that before??
user9: low-key think it’s nico. man was so salty about literally everything back then, and the ‘petty king’ vibes match the memoir perfectly.
-> user10: yesss, especially the part where she said he didn’t congratulate her after her first win. sounds EXACTLY like something nico would do.
user11: not enough people are talking about jenson. just because he was her teammate doesn’t mean he’s innocent. the whole ‘answer my texts’ thing was cute, but he’s a smooth talker.
-> user12: nah, yn always spoke highly of jenson. he had her back when mclaren was treating her like a sex toy. i’m ruling him out.
user13: so we’re all just ignoring that fernando spent YEARS shading her in press conferences? india ‘13 is permanently engraved in my brain.
-> user18: can’t lie, if it’s fernando, i’ll be disappointed but not surprised. his 2013 energy was… a lot.
user14: honestly, they’re all acting sketchy. the sudden love bomb of support is too much. one of you is x and we will find out.
user15: plot twist: what if x isn’t even one of the obvious names? imagine it’s someone random like felipe massa lmao.
-> user16: watch it not even be one of the main suspects and we’ve been dragging the wrong guy this whole time 💀
user18: it’s giving ‘we need to get ahead of the narrative’ vibes, and i’m here for the chaos.
-> user19: everyone’s pr team is in OVERDRIVE rn lmfaoooo

When Tim is seven, they have a parent career day at his school. The point of the project is to showcase to other classmates, staff and the parents and families that visit what their parent or parents do for a living.
A lot of the students have businesmen for dads and stay at home mums, as typical for the high class, but not all of them do. Some are CEO’s, some own a unique company or business, or got their wealth from sports or entertainment.
For Tim, his parents have two very unique jobs even if they are technically from generational wealth, that being Drake Industries that creates medical supplies as well as funds vehicles like ambulances and fire trucks. Stuff that looks great on paper and gets them support even if the two care little for it and more for their second form of income.
Janet was more into the archeology that showed history in culture and progression of society, story telling and proof of civilisations, while Jack was far more fond of the animals that existed or still do and how they have changed.
So naturally, Tim excitedly chose to talk about their extensive work in the latter.
Janet had single handedly proved several historical theories true and false, her unrelenting determination to proving she was right and using her connections and charming nature to do so.
Jack had discovered a whole new dinosaur that he named after his wife, as well as being one of the loudest in discussion of such beings and their feathers.
Tim found he enjoyed his mother’s work most, as cool as dinosaurs were, because his mother had taught him about how ropes and cogs were once all the ‘technology’ anyone had.
So, Tim Drake set about showcasing his mums hard work and after being denied brining a rare pot she had found, he decided to make a copy of it out of clay in the schools art room. The teacher helped him with dry hands and a kind smile, excited on his behalf as he so clearly enjoyed the process and seeing how else clay crafts were used.
Tim stood proudly at his table, several paragraphs written out and printed out for people to read about his parents achievements and a diagram of the skeletal structure his father had discovered not long after Tim was born. Many people praised him, saying how well he did for such a young age, only to be even more awed when he explained he made the pot himself and it wasn’t the real deal, but a replica.
It depicted Aphrodite as she stood over roses, at the time white but some clearly darkening as the thrown cut her foot, while she made her way over to a figure that was known to be Adonis as he laid dying from a boar beside him. It looked very simpler to real Greek art, though of course a little wonky and with less dirt and ancient clay, but the pottery was exceptional by a child’s hand. Hell, even a teenager.
Tim was so very happy, waiting patiently for his parents to come and see what he had done, how he had shown everyone in his school how cool and clever they were and even made some of the olde kris look at him with jealousy, but…
They never came.
Not because they were hurt or sick or worse, dead, but because they were too tired from their trip they had gotten back from a week ago.
But Tim was a Drake, he wouldn’t show his growing anxiety and fear, instead he stood tall and spoke animatedly too anyone who would listen and avoided questions on where Janet and Jack were just like they had taught him to when pushed for sensitive information.
Tim took the pot home and Janet smiled at him, telling him it was ‘nice’.
She didn’t point out the errors or anything, said nothing bad and had no disgusted expression, she just… called it nice. And moved on.
Seven year old Tim smashed the pot against his bed room wall and cried his eyes out until he fell asleep.
When he woke up he came to a conclusion: he simply hadn’t done a good enough job and if he was more accurate, had less bumps and used more polish, he’d get a better reaction.
So that’s what he did.
The second pot got a confused brow furrow and he was asked why he was showing it again, after all they were busy people and they had already seen it?
Tim made a different one and got a similar answer to the first, though Jack did give him a pat on the head!
Tim decided to make a few, perfect his craft more, until he showed them more so he could truely wow them.
Yet a funny thing happened while he made his replica pots and bowls.
He started to have fun.
Soon it became known to the staff at his school that if you couldn’t find Timothy, he wasn’t flagging school, he was in the art room. Given he had such good grades and had plenty of friends, none of them had a problem with this as it wasn’t affecting him badly.
Tim made a mug for his art teacher that was shaped to look like a tree stump and asked for help to paint it from his friend Ives whose mother was an artist, who got tips from his mum and taught his friend how to shade and paint on canvas first.
As thanks, Tim made Ives a little clay mushroom charm that the other boy made into a bracelet.
Eventually Tim is having so much fun with his crafting he’s even having to buy creams and ointments so his hands don’t get so cracked and cry. He has a whole draw for his art clothes lest he get too many dirtied, as well as a shelf in the art room for his creations.
By the time he’s nine he hasn’t shown his parents many of his creations and while he enjoys the bits of praise he gets, the lacklustre response just bums his out, so he stops. They aren’t mad about it, nor are they really in favour of it, they just don’t seem to care all that much.
Tim knows better than to waste their time too much and just enjoys their company when he can.
When Tim becomes Robin he’s started commissions within his school and friend group, including a smoking tray for Kevin, a chess piece set for Wesley and a rose candle holder for Darla.
Ives gets the most bit that’s because he gives them to his mum as gifts.
He stops his craft while he trains, usually too tired to do so, but finds making simple vases and bowls is calming for his mind. Batman tells him he needs to have ways to detach from his night life so they don’t get too blurred, a mistake he himself made, and so Tim uses his clay craft to do that.
He makes Bruce a mug shaped like a bat for him to have in the cave and it’s the first thing that starts to break Bruce in regards to seeing Tim as more than just the new Robin.
Tim makes Alfred a kettle pot, a simple thing as it’s his first time doing so, and paints it with buttercups.
Barbara gets a big eye charm that has several little ones hanging off wires from its base. The window charm moves with her to the clock tower even years after.
He makes Dick an elephant with pink markings over it like the one he saw on the circus posters from The Flying Grayson’s. Dick still ain’t happy about there being someone in his brothers suit, not really, but he was never going to truely take that out on Tim and seeing the sweet gift left in his car makes him feel a little lighter.
It still hurts them all to see a young boy in their house that’s not Jason, but with Tim being so different they soon stop making the comparisons so much. There’s still damage down, words that will stick with Tim, but it’s not as bad.
Tim makes Cass whole collection of little things like a tiny duck and frog, as well as hats for them. He makes her a plate that’s just for her with a teddy bear curled around a heart, her initials on the back.
He makes Steph a stupidly intricately engraved brick all for the inside joke between them, but the way she cackled is well worth it.
His teammates get so many gifts he can’t count them all, though his favourite will be the mini versions of them he made and that they put as the centre piece of the towers dining table.
When Jason comes back he doesn’t make anything, not even when the misunderstandings have been cleared up. Jason openly refuses to change his violent ways even if he promises to be more friendly, but that’s not why. Tim is still so hurt at seeing his childhood hero so broken that he can’t bear to think of it, until he watches Bridgerton of all things and starts to think differently.
Tim comers how different Jason must feel and how lonely that must feel, so he makes him something special. It by all means looks like a book even it’s an all clay, though the bones and flowers over the binding give it away with their glistening. Jane Austin’s Sense and Sensibility was hard to paint, and that wasn’t never one of Tim’s strengths, so he doesn’t do the cover art and instead writes out the letters prettily and hopes it’s enough.
Jason never responds to the gift outwardly, but the way he ruffled Tim’s hair just to annoy the other tells him enough.
Duke gets three necklaces that piece together to make one big charm, blending together in a colourful spiral perfectly. One is for him, the other two for his catatonic parents. When he realises what Tim made them for her cries, hugging Tim so tightly he’s afraid he’ll pop.
Damian is the last to receive any gift, their rivalry far too strong, though it ironically Tim’s favourite.
The stump like cup has several little mushroom cups around its sides and set of dips fit for a paintbrush. Tim explains the centre is for water and the other parts made for water colour paints or even acrylic, though that will be harder to clean even with the setting spray.
Damian claims to not use it and only Alfred knows how he asks how to properly clean it without causing damage.
Tim never truely gets to show his parents his hobby, not even when his mum goes and he and his father get a little closer. It hurts him naturally, though when he spots an old high school friend at a coffee shop asking for a drink in her keep cup he made her, he decides that his city has given him what he needed. Gotham and its people, his friends and those who watched him grow up, they gave him the acknowledgment and encouragement he wanted from Jack and Janet.
It’s not perfect, his city isn’t, but neither was his first pot.

grumpy x sunshine but filthy smut where reader is just his wittle baby :( loves and does anything for her and she’s the same for bucky
baby - nsfw bucky barnes
this might be the softest smut I've ever written in my life. totally got away from me.
(lmk if you'd like to choose an emoji, I'd love to hear more from you 🤍)
~~~
you're wrapped up in his arms, the lights dimmed low. the soft, warm luminescence from the lamp makes you glow like an angel, he thinks.
you are an angel. you have to be, because how could you be real?
you are ethereal, a beam of joy and happiness for him in a world that is otherwise nothing but a void of endless nothingness and despair. you can do absolutely no wrong in his eyes; he'll defend and protect you until the day that he dies.
he's got you in his lap, wrapping his arms around your torso to keep you close. you dangle your arms over his shoulders, lazily wrapping them around his neck.
your foreheads are pressed softly together, the act so intimate and full of love it makes you feel like you’re one.
he's just barely moving you back and forth, keeping you oh so close to him while you moan lowly at the pressure of him buried inside you.
he breathes in your scent, just feeling the way you make his whole body soar with love and the surge of happiness that runs through him like a never-ending jolt of electricity.
~~~
when you met him, you were told to expect the worst. you were briefed that he doesn't talk to anyone, doesn't leave his apartment except for work, etc. you were mentally prepared for the antisocial homebody you had been forewarned about, but you weren't nervous. you would just be yourself and hope for the best.
but when you met him, he wasn't staring at you like everyone said he would. yes, he was staring at you, but not with the rage of a thousand suns like you anticipated. his eyes were wide open in... curiosity?
he was shy, but he shook your hand no problem.
internally, he was a wreck. he was melting just from seeing your smile, something that had never happened to him before. he was stunned into silence. sure, he never really made the effort to speak to anyone else anyways, but you?
how was he supposed to talk to a pretty girl like you?
he would only embarrass himself, or look like a pathetic loser, or maybe you had made your decision about him before you met him. maybe you already hated him, and he didn't even stand a chance.
he knew how his demeanor came off; he didn't care what people thought of him. ideally, they wouldn't perceive him at all. the dream life would be to work, stay in the shadows, and never have to speak to another soul again.
but you... god, you were just something else. he wanted to say more to you than he had, he wanted to prove to you that he was more than the angry, people-loathing person everyone else probably told you he was.
after your first meeting, he felt a fool. he blubbered and stuttered like an idiot, and Sam smacked his shoulder and chuckled as you walked away. he scowled at him and stalked off, as usual.
he was just a hateful person. no reason for you to think he could be more than that.
~~~
"you're so pretty, sweetheart," he whispers to you, taking in the sight in front of him. your eyes are shut so softly, relishing in the way he's making such gentle love to you. it's almost sickening how sweet the scene is.
he brings a flesh hand to your cheek, cradling your face in his palm. brings new meaning to "his whole world in the palm of his hand."
"oh, baby," you mumble to him, moving your hips against him a little, neediness taking over your mind. "Bucky, baby, my baby..."
"come on," he whispers. with your eyes closed, you don't see the way his face pinks up. "I'm not a baby. you are my baby," he says, adjusting his grip on you, keeping his hands pressed against your soft skin. his fingertips dip into your flesh ever so softly, making sure not to hurt you. he'd go to the ends of the earth to protect you, rip out anyone's spine for you...
"but you are my baby," you whisper back to him, eyes still shut. your voice is a soft whine as you slowly move back and forth. "you’re my baby, Bucky. my baby, my Bucky, all mine..."
your words send him into a spiral. him? your baby? he's fucked.
"would... would you say it again?" he says, so low in the back of his throat, the words are barely audible.
"you're my baby," you repeat, and he somehow pulls you even closer, as if you're not already as close together as humanly possible.
"and you’re mine, sweetheart,” he tells you as he begins to move you both, still keeping you pressed tightly against him as he lays you on your back and begins to move his hips between yours so slowly and perfectly. “god, I love you,” he breathes.
you let out a soft little cry. "shh, pretty baby, I'm here," he says to you, his tone just a little higher, the way it shifts only around you. "you know I'm here. I'll always be here. just let me take care of you, my baby.”
~~~
every time you spoke to him him after your initial meeting, he felt like his entire reality was warped. time seemed to speed up, moving way too fast whenever he got the chance to speak to you. it was never enough time.
he found himself smiling, even blushing around you. everyone else was shocked, wondering if the man was on drugs or something with the way he seemed to perk up around you.
but no, no drugs.
you lit up something in his soul that he didn't know was possible.
no matter how scared he was, how convinced he was that you were going to say no, he knew he cared too much about you to not make the effort. he was so deeply in love with you to not ask you.
and if you said no, he would deal with it the same way he dealt with everything else: by pretending he didn't care and falling deeper into his hatred for the world.
lucky for the both of you, when he asked you out, you said "yes!" with a vibrant smile and a small spring in your step. he thought he would never be happier than he was in that moment.
oh, but he was wrong. that moment when he got down on one knee, and saw the way your face lit up in pure delight and excitement as you exclaimed, "yes, yes, yes!" over and over again?
that was the happiest moment of his life.
~~~
he reaches down to where your hands are now interlaced, running his fingers over the metal band on your ring finger. he proceeds to bring your hand to his lips to press a kiss to your knuckles, to the permanent mark he's now left on your skin, forever.
a beautiful diamond for the most beautiful girl in the world.
having you, here, under him. it's the biggest privilege of his life to call you his, and he's going to spend the rest of his life trying to prove that he deserves to have you.
"you feelin' good, baby?" he whispers to you, cupping your face in his hand once more. "tell me what you need. anything at all, it's yours."
you shake your head. "it's perfect, baby..." you whine, lifting your hips to meet his.
"you ready for me to make you come, baby?" he asks, pushing a strand of hair out of your face.
"yes, please, James," you ask him, and he brings his lips to your neck.
"no need for pleas, baby, I'm gonna give you everything you want for the rest of our lives."
he moves your legs to wrap around his waist and kisses your neck up to your jaw, doubling down on his efforts as he fucks you so sweetly.
"that's my girl. my baby, my fiance," he whispers as though he's speaking to himself. "you're doing so well, babydoll. come for me."
your legs tighten around his waist, trapping his hips against yours as you bear down and reach your release with a cry of his name.
"so beautiful, that's it, baby," he whispers, holding you through it.
"I love you, James," you whisper as you find your breath again.
"oh, baby, you'll never know how much I love you. how much you've changed my life for the better. how afraid I am of the feelings I have for you... and how I'd rather die than run away from the feeling, no matter how much it scares me."
your eyes well up with tears of joy, and he wipes them away with a soft brush of his thumb.
"I'm yours, forever, babydoll," he whispers, and leans in to kiss you like the world depends on it.
because it does. you are his world.
I need Joker to fear Captain Marvel so dam badly. Let me explain.
So we know how we, as a community, all accepted that Billy Batson / Captain Marvel is the most egregious Tax Evader of DC (for this who don’t know, there was a whole poll and our boy Billy won out of literally everyone, including supervillains).
And in the Batman Cartoon (and some comics), it’s stated that Joker is terrified of the IRS.
I think you see the picture.
Joker: I may be crazy enough to fight Batman, but I am NOT crazy enough to deal with the IRS
Captain Marvel: lol imagine doing your taxes
Everyone present: w h a t
*clip goes viral*
IRS Agent: So, Captain Marvel was it? According to this footage, you have no been paying your taxes
Marvel: prove it.
IRS Agent: What?
Marvel: to make me pay anything, you need to know who I am and what’s to pay. I got nothing to pay.
IRS Agent: that’s not-
Marvel: not even Batman knows who or what I am. For all you know, I could be living in a multidimensional rock situated in, quite literally, the middle of nowhere.
IRS Agent: …
IRS Agent: I- w h a t
*some time later*
IRS AGENT: YOU BORE A STRIKING RESEMBLANCE TO LATE CC BATSON. SOMEONE WHO HASNT PAID TAXES IN 70 YEARS! YOU OWE US TAXES
Marvel: no I’m not
IRS Agent: Don’t try-
Marvel, holding the lasso of truth: I am not CC Batson, I don’t owe you shit. Plus he’s totes dead so can’t be me.
IRS Agent: DAMMIT
Joker: This mofo is crazy! Crazy? I was crazy onc-
*later*
IRS Agent, in Fawcette: why is none telling me anything!!!! You, Child, what do you know of your local hero?
Itty Bitty Billy Batson: lmao aren’t you that Agent harassing Cap
IRS Agent: it’s not harassment if he owes the government taxes
Billy: good luck taxing anyone in Fawcette lmao, magic doesn’t give a shit about that. Also we have different currency’s that just switches on random basis. So unless the government takes Drachmas, you’re cooked
IRS Agent, on the verge of tears: this has never happened before
Lex Luthor: WRITE THAT DOWN WRTE THAT DOWN
Bonus:
Billy: you know, I know someone who has been commuting tax evasion, tax fraud and more charges. His name is Ebenezer Batson. That’s E B E N Z E R and he lives just outside of Fawcette. Can’t miss him.
IRS Agent, who has a fridge with ‘CC Batson’ and is more than happy to get old man prey: thanks kid
Bonus 2:
Billy: Sweet, the IRS put my uncle in jail and the police gave me back my inheritance. Now to convert this into Fawcette currency (they will not be taxing this money)
Joker, visibly weeps
#billy batson#shazam#dc captain marvel#dc#captain marvel dc#Egregious tax evasion#joker is terrified of the itty bitty boy#lex is taxing notes#lex: new child villain?#lex: potential protoge?#Lex: am I really about to pull a Wayne and adopt him?#thinks for a bit#fuck it let’s go#irs#this turned out to be a Billy vs the IRS
WHAT THEY SAY ๑. ( 제이크 )
[ req? yes / no ]
𝗦𝗖𝗘𝗡𝗘 ──────── you couldn’t believe it when jake said he learned how to please a girl by reading … but he was determined to prove you wrong.. guess what they say about nerds is true …
( 対 ) sim jaeyun + fem. reader wc. 2.5k genre smut · contains! unprotected sex , language , oral ( f ) mature content. / back to library
𝕼 ㅤ𓈒ㅤ𓈒 yeni’s note .ᐟ i loved writing this…
jake sim; the cute quiet boy who sat in the back of the class away from everyone. the boy who turned in his work on time , sometimes weeks before if he could. he was smart; probably the smartest kid in the class; maybe the whole major… but who knew he was such a fucking sex god?
it all started with a pouty lipped you; your recent test sitting in front of you , marked with a red circle highlighting your failures — your many failures at that. “seriously yn , how did you manage to fuck up this badly?” you whispered to yourself. “it’s like you didn’t even try.”
but you did try; you tried your hardest, it’s just that this subject was one you weren’t that good at it. “i’m gonna fail.” you sighed. “are you okay?” someone stood in front of you. “you’re talking to yourself.” your eyes following the body , becoming face to face with the boy; sim jaeyun. he looked down at the paper , he’s never seen a number that low. “oh.”
you covered the paper in embarrassment. “i’m fine.” you said. “nothing wrong with having a conversation to yourself, it’s only a problem if i answer myself my mother says.” he pushed his glasses up on his face. “okay.” he went to walk away; but you had to push your pride to the side. “wait.” he stopped, waiting for you to continue. “do you think you can help me?” you asked. “i only ask because you’re so good at this subject — sure.” he interrupted you. “really?” you exclaimed. “what’s your phone number?” you handed him a piece of paper. “give it to me.” you smiled.
you both agreed to meet at your apartment at five; so you quickly went home to straighten up; setting out some snacks for you both while you studied. “what are you doing?” your roommate came out of the room; picking up a cookie. “hey don’t eat those , they’re for jake.” your roommate raised her eyebrows. “who the hell is that?”
“a kid in my class; he’s coming over to help me study.” you said. “is he cute?” you rolled your eyes. “ah so he fucking hot.” she smirked. “what’s your problem?” she chuckled. “what i’m just saying, you know what they say about nerds.” you turned to her. “no i don’t , and i never said he was a nerd.” she shrugged. “i’ve seen the homework you get… he’s a nerd.” she walked out the door. “i leave you with your nerd.” the front door closed , then opened again. “and to answer your question they say nerds are the best fuckers.” and with that she closed the door again.
you waited around for him and soon the clock hit 5 o’clock and there was a knock on the door. “did he wait until exactly 5?” you got off your bed , skipping to the door; opening it. “hi jake!” his eyes widened a bit before settling. “hi.” he said as you stood to the side. “come in.” you welcomed him in. “you can take your shoes off and follow me.” you made your way to your room. “we can study in here.”
he stopped at the threshold of your door, taking in your room. “you okay?” you asked; he coughed nervously pushing his glasses on his face. “ye-yeah i’m fine.” you smiled. “well come in then silly.” he walked into your room, looking around at all the posters on your wall; your desk was messy with papers and books. “here.” you sat down on the bed; he opted for the floor. “do you want something to drink? i have cookies.” you said. “um water is fine, thank you.” you nodded, getting off the bed. “i’ll be back.”
you left the room; leaving him alone in your space. jake never really tutored anyone, but he could see the desperation on your face; you clearly needed help and weren’t fucking around and waiting his time like most people have done in the past; not to mention he thought you were pretty cute. he’d notice you all the time when you’d walk into the class , sitting directly in the middle with your friends; but you didn’t play around when it came to work. sometimes you would doze off or daydream and he thought it was cute when you’d bring yourself back once you realize, looking around to see if people saw you; no one else but him did.
so maybe he had a little crush on you and that’s why he said yes; but he wasn’t expecting anything from you since the only reason you called him here was to study. “i bought you some cookies.” you sat the plate down in front of him. “and here’s your water.” you sat back down on the bed. “thank you for helping me.”
he nodded; “you seemed like you needed it.” he said, eyes widening at the realization of what he said. “i didn’t mean it like that, i swear.” you giggled. “i’m bad at this subject, i know.” you said. “the many papers sitting on the table marked in red should tell you.” you pointed. “but hopefully you’ll help me understand a bit more right?” you asked. “ye-yeah.” he pushed his glasses on his face again.
after eating his cookies; the two of you jumped into studying quickly getting into a flow of things. jake was actually a good tutor; and you were understanding things you never did with the professor. “you got it correct again.” jake smiled. “how am i good with you , but i suck when the professor teaches it?” you asked. “some people just need to be taught in different ways.” he said. “i teach myself these things before the teacher gets to it so i already know.” he said; and not in a cocky way either. “how?”
“i like to read.” he shrugged shyly. “well i like to read to but i could never teach myself this, you must read a shit ton.” he chuckled , fixing his glasses. “you could say that.” he said. “besides teaching yourself class work, do you read anything else?” you asked he nodded. “of course i don’t spend all day in my dorm doing work.” he said you giggled. “that would be ridiculous , but yes i do read the occasional fantasy book or horror novel.”
“harry potter; those books are just too long for my attention span.” you said. “really?” he said furrowing his eyebrows. “i wouldn’t know, i put the book down ten minutes in because i got hungry.” you stood up, walking over to your desk. “but i do have a few books.” you said , your back turned as you looked around — jake didn’t mean to; but his eyes couldn’t help but wonder a bit, taking in your figure. he gulped; your shiny legs on display. jake wasn’t a virgin by any means, sure he was probably inexperienced for a boy his age, but from what he read he knew a little bit and he knew the feeling in between his legs wasn’t going away. “here they are.”
you turned around; books in your hand. “these are my favorite.” he coughed nervously as you now took a seat on the floor next to him. “i’ve read them 100 times each.” he took in your scent at you rambled about the different books in front of him. “you smell nice.” his eyes widening realizing he said that outloud. “that was so weird i’m so sorry.” he quickly apologized; you giggled. “just a little but it’s cute.” you said , his cheeks red. “here.” you put your wrist to his nose. “it’s vanilla and lavender.”
l
he took a whiff of your scent; realizing it did nothing for the ache in his lower region, instead it made it worse. your scent clouding his senses. “it smells good.” he said. “thank you it was a gift.” you said. “my roommate is a god at finding the perfect scent for people.” he had to hold himself back from grabbing your wrist, bringing it back to his nose to get another scent. “should we get back to studying?”
you nodded; not moving back to the bed instead you reached up; your shirt lifting up a bit , he didn’t even revert his eyes, the sliver of your skin as you grab the book. “let’s do this.” you said, reminding him of why he was there in the first place; to help you understand the work.
“why did you agree to help me?” you asked randomly; face looking up from the book. “you hardly even talk in class and you sit all the way in the back.” he sat his pencil down, once again pushing the frames of his glasses up. “you looked really upset at the test, and i’ve seen you in class, you actually look like you care about it, you just needed a little bit of help.” he explained with a smile. “and look now you understand and will be prepared.”
“i don’t know how to pay you back; im so grateful.” you said. “you’re a god send.” his face was beat red from all the praise. “yo-you don’t have to pay me back, i wanted to help you.” he said , running his hands through his hair , creating a messy effect; biting down on his lip — he was cute , you always thought that; but now you see it close up, the way his his long slender fingers continuously run through his hair when he’s nervous; or how he chewed on his plump bottom lip when he was super focused on things; damn he was more than cute… he was fucking hot.
you thought back to what your roommate said and you couldn’t help but wonder; was he good at sex? like there was no way girls didn’t find him attractive just because he was smart right? he can be a nerd but also be good with girls. “do you have a girlfriend?” you blurted out, shocking both of you. “uh no , i don’t.” he said. “i didn’t mean to be nosy it’s just that you’re cute and i just can’t believe you don’t even have a girlfriend or at least a few girls lusting over you.”
“many girls assume things about me.” he said. “well it can’t be that bad , it’s not like you’re some sex freak playboy.” you giggle to yourself. “well no it’s not that.” he said. “it’s quite the opposite.” he said. “i’m not following.” you replied. “they think im a virgin.” he said.
“you’re not?” you said. “i’m unexperienced there’s a difference.” he said. “but how hard could it be? i could just look it up right?” he genuinely asked , you laughed. “you can’t just read an article on how to please a girl jake; not every girl is the same.” you tell him. “don’t tell me you’ve actually done that?” he shrugs. “jake you’re cute but that’s the dumbest thing ever; someone as smart as you should know that.”
“actually i think girls are all the same in that way , it’s just that guys don’t understand the female body like they should.” he said. “girls don’t want to be poked and prodded at , they aren’t a game system.” he sounded confident in what he was saying. “and how would you know that? that girls are all the same in that way?” you asked , not noticing the sudden shift in the room. “because–”
he didn’t know what came over him; but he was soon pressing his plump lips against yours, his hands that you stared at for way too long were now on your waist as he kissed you on the floor of the end of your bed. “bed.” he said between kissing you. “bed now.” this wasn’t the shy jake that was flustered by the smallest thing. “ok-okay.” you stood up , sitting on the bed — he stayed on the floor , standing on his knees. “can i?” he asked nervously; yeah he read about this, but this was his first time trying it on someone. “su-sure.”
he touched your knees, pulling them apart. “jake.” you sighed as he pushed his glasses up on his face , kissing your thighs , inhaling your scent. “yo-you smell nice.” he kissed your clothed cunt. “taste good too.” you moaned , he liked that — he wanted to hear it again , so he pulled down your shorts. “jake stop being so slow , it’s teasing.” he quickly removed your panties your wet cunt made his mouth water. “see, even you could learn from other people.”
he licked a stripe up your cunt; you moaned out. “jake fuck.” he licked your cunt over and over; holding your legs over his shoulders; face buried in between your legs tasting everything you had to offer. he was moaning ; sending a wave of pleasure through your body, you could already feel yourself about to cum this early; which was almost always impossible — with a person or yourself alone. “fuck jake , jake i’m about the cum.”
he ignored your pleas; instead he brought his thumb to your swollen clit , rubbing figure eights on your bud as his tongue entered your hole. “fuck jake!” you squealed. “jake i’m-im gonna cum!” he pressed down on your clit; your legs tensing up as you came. “ok-okay i get it.” you tugged at his hair as he continued to eat you out through your orgasm. “you were right.” you said through labored breathing. “you fucking read about doing that?”
his face was covered in your juices , glasses crooked on his nose; nodding. “i told you it wasn’t that hard.” he said standing up. “well what else have you read about?”
that’s how you found yourself pinned under the quite shy boy in class. his glasses were fogged up as he pushed his cock inside of you; slowly filling you up beyond your own imagination. “yo-fuck you-you feel really good.” he moved his hips like a pro , you would’ve thought he was lying about being inexperienced if it wasn’t for the occasional mistake he made, but that didn’t even bother you because he was still much better than anyone you’ve had sex with. “ca-can i go faster.”
“god please.” his mouth dropped open as you clenched around him; urging him to go faster. “fuck jake you’re so big!” he groaned , the way you praised the way his cock was filling you to the brim , he could feel all of you; your warm cunt suffocating him , he gasped.”keep going jake!” you moaned out loudly , glad your roommate did leave. “keep going i’m gonna cum, i’m gonna fucking cum.” he sped up even more , now pounding into you , cock hitting deep inside you. “yes fuck!” you squealed out. “i’m cumming!”
your orgasm triggered his; his cock twitching inside you; he quickly pulled out , cumming all over your stomach. “ngh ah!” he whimpered as he milked himself , making a mess all over your stomach. you have never felt as satisfied as you did before and it was because of him; the boy who read on how to please a girl. “are you sure you haven’t done that before.” he smiled , once again pushing those glasses up on his face.
guess what they say about nerds are true…
cw: gunplay, dubcon (??), semi-public sex, gagging, mentions of death but nobody dies so rest assured, spit, pretty rushed, lil drabble be i had to write about my man being icky b4 i forgot >.<
"are you gonna be obedient? or should i splatter these pretty little guts all over this wall?"
you don't know how you got here, and by here, i mean in an alleyway, with your brand new white skirt pooled around your ankles and nearly torn to shreds, your freshly manicured nails digging into the muscular flesh of a strange man who's stuffing your slick cunt with the shaft of his gun, his index finger is dangerously close to the trigger as his wet tongue peaks out from between his scarred lips to swipe the shell of your ear.
isn't it just your luck that you ran out of instant ramen tonight, meaning you had to walk outside to the closest convenience store all alone? hey, it isn't your fault that you're a broke college student who's just trying to make ends meet. the news warned civilians of a man lurking on the streets, described as tall, black hair, and incredibly dangerous, but they didn't mention hot. it just so happens that the same man, serialkiller!toji, has you gagged with your own panties, your back arched, stifling your cries and whimpers so not even the oblivious pedestrians passing by the whole scene know just how much danger you're in.
you slowly nod your head in compliance, careful and nervous not to make the wrong move just in case this creep decides he wants to end your life with a bullet through your uterus. "good," toji growls, slowly sliding his gun out of your tight little pussy, leaving it clenching around nothing as he brings the firearm up to his mouth to lick your sweet juices off of it. "j-just take my money, anything!!!!" you're desperately trying to plead with him, your voice muffled by your panties as tears stream out of your eyes, leaving the makeup on your face streaky. oh, who were you kidding? he clearly didn't care about robbing some girl for her money, your purse had dropped onto the ground with all of your belongings spilling out when toji grabbed you, your tiny pink pocket book sits there and you want to kick it toward him. there had to be a possibility that money would divert him from whatever he has planned for you, right?
let's say he did wanted to rob you, why would he bother to strip you naked, making you arch your back as the bright red store lights shine down on you beneath the dark nighttime sky, highlighting the curve of your hips and ass, making your slick folds glisten? he's trying to humiliate you, proving he can break any bitch into being his slut.
"i don't need your money, babygirl."
dammit.
"you're gonna give me this tight, virgin pussy." toji declares, his voice low as goosebumps riddle your skin. "college girls study better whenever they're bred by big, scary men like me, hm?"
well, it's not like you've ever had anyone's dick inside of you. his hypothesis could be correct, but you had bigger fish to fry now that the cool barrel of his gun is pressing into your temple, wet with his spit and your own slick. "d—don't kill me..." a part of you wants to shut your eyes and accept your fate, welcoming whatever is waiting for you in the afterlife, wishing he'd pull that trigger to put you out of your current misery. "scared little lamb." toji chuckles, retracting the gun from your head as he slides it into his back pocket. "m' not gonna kill you either."
the confirmation puts you a bit at ease, this totally isn't how you're gonna die!
toji's brings his calloused, large hand to rub your soft belly as he holds your waist. he swiftly unzips his pants and tugs them down, before the fabric can even hit his thighs, his fat, mushroom tip hits his abdomen as his cock flings out. he holds the base of his dick, slapping his hard length on your asscheek. you gulp thickly, its not even inside of you, yet you can still sense how bad this thing is gonna stretch you out, you don't know if you're ready for it.
you sharply suck in a breath of air as he moves his dick to slide it between your drooling pussy lips, the aching tip brushes against your clit which makes you arch your back deeper. "a-aaah!" you gasp, and toji quicky slaps his hand over your mouth. "quiet, little one." he says, lining himself up with your fluttering hole. "don't wanna get caught out here, now do we?" you shake your head in response, dare you say that you don't wanna get caught bent over by a killer? even if help arrived? toji spreads the bead of precum leaking out of his slit around, mixing it with your slick as his tip prods at your entrance.
then, you feel the burn, the stretch of your hymen as toji slowly pushes his hips forward, his thick pink tip slipping inside of you as you curl your fingers into his skin to grip his arms tighter. "do you want this?" toji asks, leaning his head close to your ear as he kisses it. want what, exactly? a crazy guy fucking you in a dingy alleyway? you'd appreciate it if he would at least buy a motel room, but you can't really complain, or think as his fingers move to your clit and make your brain short-circuit. “yeshhh...” you slur out, already so cock drunk and he hasn't even put his cock fully inside.
toji trusts his hips forward, his entire shaft slipping inside of you as your nails dig deeper into his skin. you forget about the possibility of dying right here tonight, the only thing you can focus on is the way his big cock just feels sooo good inside of you, almost as if you were made to take this psycho's dick. you feel your walls clamping down on toji's cock, molding to it's shape which sends a jolt of pleasure through the both of you.
the slick, wet sounds of your creamy pussy taking him in so deep are the only noise coming from the alley, drowned out by the nightlife in the city as you mewl incoherent babbles as toji keeps fucking you, gripping the flesh of your ass tightly as your plush skin fills the gaps of his fingers. "nnngh—too much..." your soft, whimpering voice escapes your parted lips, your knees tingle, slowly giving up as they struggle to keep you upright.
"you like getting your pussy stretched open by sickos like me?" toji asks, slapping your asscheeks and leaving a stinging red hand print on it. you nod your head, biting down harder on your panties as he fucks you from behind. he doesn't let you adjust to the feeling of his thick cock splitting your pussy open, no, he loves the way that warm, tight mouth between your legs grips onto him so tight, he's only fucking you so he can feel good. "you're taking me in so deep," he groans, his thrust growing sloppier. "no wonder you girls get pregnant so easily."
he spreads your fat cunt apart so he can stuff his cock deeper inside of you, his tip kisses your cervix almost instantly as he bullies himself into your tight heat. his fingers keep rubbing slow circles around your sensitive button, making your soft thighs shut around his wrist. he watches the white ring of your slick bubble at the base of his dick as he slams his hips against your ass, the thick push of pubic hair tickles your skin but turns you on nonetheless.
before you know it, you're cumming, squirting all over toji's dick as he stays inside of you. his finger flicks your clit harder as your juices spray out. you literally see starts as toji grips your jaw tightly to keep your quiet as you reach your high. he pulls out, giving his cunt-juice-soaked shaft a slow pump as he nuts on your lower back, spreading your thick sheet of slick around his tip. you feel the warm spurts of cum hitting your skin, toji wipes some of it up as he brings his finger up to your lips, pulling your panties out of your mouth so you can have a taste of his load.
you tighten your lips around his thick finger, suckling his cum off of them as the pad of his thumb pressed into your clit. "that taste good, baby?" he asks, biting his lip as he grabs your arm to turn you around, grabbing your face as he squishes your lips. "open." you open your mouth, sticking your tongue out as toji leans over your head to land a glob of spit on your tongue. you pull your tongue back into your mouth as you swallow his saliva, he takes your hand and slaps a heavy wad of cash into your palm.
"thanks for the free pussy."
Nothing You Can Prove
Danny wasn’t having a good time. In fact, he was having a very, very, very, very, bad time.
He was just trying to walk home with his children, his very energetic chaos inclined children, when Ellie declared that she needed to use the bathroom. So, as any responsible parent would, Danny walked with her and Dan to the nearest building that would have an open to the public restroom. And while Ellie was busy using the little girl’s room, Danny focused to ensuring Dan didn’t bite anyone. Again. The last time he drew blood and Danny couldn’t apologise enough to the punk looking guy who seemed completely bewildered by what had happened.
All Danny remembered was apologising repeatedly, turning to scold Dan about biting strangers, and the young man muttering something about some guy named Tom (or was it Tim?) And how he was never going to believe what had happened.
So, safe to say Danny was more focused on watching his child and waiting for the other one than looking at the suspicious group of men that had just walked into the restaurant.
Because of course the first building Danny saw that might have an open bathroom was a fancy upscale restaurant, and not the fast food restraint two blocks down. Ellie had said she couldn’t hold it that long.
But now, Danny had a gun to his face, and his babies hidden behind him as much as he could manage while the two of them subtly tried to shove past him so they could beat the shit out of this butthead for daring to point a weapon at their dad.
Masked thug: Hand over all of valuables! Wallet, phone, everything! Be quick and nobody gets hurt!
Danny calmly reached into his pocket, and hoped that the situation would stay as calm as possible until the city’s local heir or the police could arrive. He didn’t want to have to reveal his or his children’s powers and potentially need to flee yet another city.
Danny: Here, just take it and go.
The thugs had grabbed what they could from as many people as possibly before bolting, leaving many of the patrons upset and shaken from the encounter. Danny quickly turned to his children and vegans looking them over, fussing and making sure they were okay.
Ellie: Dad you never let the guy near us. How could we have possibly gotten hurt?
Danny: With how much trouble you two like to get into, I’m not taking any chances. Now Dan-
Dan was gone. Dan. Was. Gone. Danny felt his chest tighten and his breathing becoming harder to control. Where was his son?!
Just as Danny was about to ask a waitress who had just finished giving her statement to a police officer if she’d seen where his son ran off to, Dan reappeared beside his sister with a sharp toothed grin.
Dan: Don’t worry dad, I got your stuff back. So you don’t have to be upset now!
Danny: …What did you do.
Dan, smirking: Nothing you can prove.
A BOXERS STRUGGLES !
ft. boxer!katsuki bakugo x f!reader
summary: Bakugo is fiercely dedicated to becoming Japan's number one boxer, but he faces inner conflict when he starts developing feelings for someone. His fear of distraction threatens his rise to the top, creating tension between his personal life and his aspirations. As their relationship deepens, he learns to balance his love for her with his desire to succeed in boxing. [wc: 5k]
The gym stank of sweat and blood. The air was thick with the sounds of fists pounding heavy bags, the rhythmic shuffle of footwork against the mat, and the sharp commands of coaches drilling fighters into champions.
This was Katsuki Bakugo’s world. The ring was his domain. The roar of a crowd? Just white noise. The only thing that mattered was the moment his fist connected—the instant he proved, without question, that he was better.
His opponent staggered back, legs wobbling. His ribs were bruised, his breath shallow. He was still standing, barely, but Bakugo could already see it in his eyes.
He was finished.
Aizawa’s voice rang through the gym. “Stay sharp, Bakugo.”
Katsuki Bakugo stood in the center of the ring, fists clenched in his taped-up hands, his breath controlled despite the fire burning in his chest. His opponent for today’s spar was already on his knees, clutching his ribs, coughing through the pain.
“Get up,” Bakugo growled, shaking out his fists. “I ain’t done with ya’ yet.”
The other fighter grimaced trying everything in his power to rise, but before he could, the coach called it.
“That’s enough, Bakugo!” His trainer, Aizawa, sighed from outside the ropes, arms crossed over his chest. “I told you to spar, not destroy.”
Bakugo clicked his tongue and turned away, grabbing a towel from the corner post to wipe the sweat off his face.
“If he’s too weak to take a hit, he shouldn’t be in the ring,” he muttered, stepping out of the ropes.
“That ‘weak’ fighter you just knocked out was ranked fifth in the region.”
“Then I guess I’m already top four.”
Aizawa exhaled through his nose and shook his head lightly, but there was the ghost of a smirk in his otherwise impassive expression. Bakugo had talent—raw, explosive talent that had propelled him through the rankings faster than anyone had expected. But he had a fatal flaw.
He fought like a man trying to bury something.
Something he was afraid to lose.
Bakugo exhaled slowly, rolling his shoulders as he looked down at his fallen opponent. It wasn’t personal. It never was. The guy had stepped into the ring knowing what he was getting into. If you weren’t ready to fall, you shouldn’t be fighting.
“Damn, man!”
The sound of Kirishima’s voice cut through the noise before Bakugo felt a heavy arm slap against his back. “That was sick! You dropped him like a sack of bricks.”
Bakugo clicked his tongue, walking toward his corner to unwrap the tape from his hands. “Tch. If he went down that easy, he shouldn’t have been in the ring with me.”
“Yeah, yeah, I get it. You’re a beast.” Kirishima laughed, leaning against the ropes. “Which is exactly why you need to come out tonight. We’re celebrating.”
Bakugo shot him a glare. “The hell we are.”
“C’monnn, man! You’ve been tearing through the ranks like crazy. People are talking. You’re undefeated, making a name for yourself, and you’ve got fans.” Kirishima smirked. “I mean, how many guys get this far at our age?”
“I’m not doing this for a goddamn party,” Bakugo muttered, tossing the used tape into the trash.
Kirishima groaned. “Bro. You never do anything outside the gym. You don’t even celebrate your own wins.”
Because there was nothing to celebrate. Winning wasn’t the goal—it was the standard.
Bakugo was going to be the best boxer in Japan. That wasn’t just some damn dream or some nice idea to hope for. It was a fact. Something inevitable. And if it wasn’t inevitable, then he just had to train even harder than before.
There was no reason to slow down.
No reason to waste time at some party.
But Kirishima was still looking at him, hopeful as ever, and Bakugo knew the bastard wouldn’t shut up about it.
He clicked his tongue. “Tch. Fine. But I’m not staying long.”
Kirishima cheered. “Hell yeah!”
This is a waste of time.
Bakugo knew it. He knew he should be in the gym, working on his footwork, watching fight tapes, doing something, anything, to get ahead of the competition.
But he ignored the voice in his head, just this once.
Plus, was the worst that could happen?
The party was loud. So agonizing loud.
The bass from the speakers thumped through the floors, shaking the walls of the packed apartment. People were everywhere, drinking, laughing, talking too damn much. Some of them he recognized—fighters from the gym, people from the local boxing circuit—but most of them were just randoms.
“Here.” Kirishima shoved a drink into his hand.
Bakugo took one look at it and scoffed. “I ain’t drinking that shit.”
Kirishima rolled his eyes. “Man, at least pretend you’re having fun.”
Bakugo didn’t respond. He was already regretting this.
He didn’t belong here.
This wasn’t his world.
He was about to leave when Kirishima perked up, eyes lighting up as he spotted someone across the room. “Oh, shit! She actually came.”
Bakugo barely glanced over. “Who?”
Kirishima grinned. “That girl I told you about—(Y/N).”
Bakugo finally looked.
You weren’t flashy like some of the other girls here. You weren’t trying to be the center of attention, weren’t draped over some guy’s arm, weren’t looking at him like he was some kind of goddamn celebrity.
You were just sitting there, talking to a friend, nursing a drink in your hand. You didn’t even seem all that interested in the party at all.
And somehow, that was the first thing that made him notice you.
Kirishima nudged him. “She’s cool. I think you’d actually like her.”
Bakugo scowled. “Tch. Since when do you set me up with people?”
“I’m not setting you up,” Kirishima laughed. “But seriously, man. You need to talk to people who aren’t trying to punch you in the face for once.”
Bakugo rolled his eyes. He wasn’t here to meet people. He was here to get Kirishima off his back, and then he was leaving.
But then, as if you could feel him looking, your gaze flicked over to his.
And you smiled.
Not in an over-the-top way. Not in that annoying, flirty, “I’m just here for the fighters” way.
Just a simple, amused smile. Like you knew something he didn’t.
And for some stupid, infuriating reason, that was enough to make him stay a little longer.
You didn’t approach him first.
That was the second thing he noticed about you.
You weren’t like most people who came up to him at these kinds of events—all wide-eyed admiration and empty compliments. You weren’t trying to impress him.
If anything, you were unimpressed.
And that… bothered him.
So when Kirishima finally dragged him over to introduce you, Bakugo was already in a foul mood.
“(Y/N), this is Bakugo,” Kirishima said, grinning. “Bakugo, this is (Y/N). She’s cool, I swear.”
You gave him a once-over, raising an eyebrow before smirking. “Yeah, I know who he is.”
Bakugo narrowed his eyes. “Tch. That so?”
“I’ve been to a couple of your fights.” You shrugged. “You don’t let them last very long, huh?”
He scoffed. “Why the hell would I?”
You tilted your head. “I dunno. Wouldn’t kill you to put on a show for once.”
Kirishima snorted. “Damn. She’s got you there, man.”
Bakugo clicked his tongue, crossing his arms. He wasn’t used to people talking to him like this—like he was just some guy instead of a rising champion.
But you weren’t mocking him.
You weren’t flirting, either.
You were just… talking to him.
And for the first time in a long time, Katsuki Bakugo wasn’t sure how to respond.
This was bad.
This was exactly the kind of distraction he couldn’t afford.
The next day arrived as Bakugo got out of bed, the sunlight streaming through his window, casting a warm glow across his room. He rubbed the sleep from his eyes and took a deep breath, steeling himself for the day ahead. As he swung his legs over the side of the bed and stood up, he could still feel the weight of the events from the previous night lingering in his mind, making it hard to focus.
Bakugo didn’t do distractions.
He trained. He fought. He won. That was it.
He didn’t waste time at parties, didn’t fuck around with meaningless shit like relationships or making friends outside of the gym. There was no point. The only thing that mattered was getting stronger.
So why the hell had he stayed at that party longer than he intended?
Why the hell had you stuck in his head?
It pissed him off more than it should have.
It wasn’t like you had done anything special. You weren’t drooling over him like most people who recognized his name. You weren’t trying to get something out of him. You weren’t even acting impressed.
You were just… there.
And for some stupid reason, that was what made him notice you.
Tch. Whatever. It doesn't even matter anymore.
He wasn’t gonna waste time thinking about some random girl.
So, as usual, he threw himself into training.
The gym was empty except for the steady rhythm of his fists pounding the heavy bag. It was late—so late that even Aizawa had already left for the night, trusting Bakugo to lock up when he was done. The only sounds that filled the space were the heavy thuds of leather meeting flesh and the occasional creak of the building settling around him.
His body ached, but it wasn’t enough. The burn in his muscles was a reminder of how hard he was working, yet it only fueled his determination. He needed more. More speed. More power. More control. He needed to push himself past his limits, to go beyond what he was yesterday. Each punch felt like a step toward a higher version of himself, a way to stave off the ever-looming fear of being left behind.
Because if he didn’t—if he slowed down for even a second—someone else would catch up. The thought danced tauntingly in the back of his mind, an insidious whisper that he couldn't shake off. He refused to let that happen; he wouldn't allow anyone to inch ahead of him.
So he fought harder, faster, his focus narrowing like a predatory gaze. The world beyond the gym faded, blurring into insignificance as he lost himself in his routine. He was so absorbed in his relentless pursuit that he barely noticed when someone else walked into the gym. The door creaked softly, almost lost in the noise of his efforts, and he instinctively increased his intensity, a faint flicker of curiosity stirring deep within him. Who would dare interrupt his sanctum?
“Jesus. Do you ever go home?”
His fist stopped mid-swing.
He turned, scowling, only to find you leaning against the doorway.
You weren’t supposed to be here.
“What the hell are you doin’ here?” he snapped.
You shrugged. “Kirishima told me you’d still be here. Thought I’d stop by.”
He narrowed his eyes. “Tch. Don’t you got somewhere better to be?”
“Probably,” you said easily, walking further into the gym. “But this is more interesting.”
That threw him off. Most people didn’t stick around after his fights. Not unless they wanted something.
But you weren’t asking for anything.
And that was what made you dangerous.
He grabbed his water bottle and took a long sip, trying to ignore the way you were watching him.
“You train like you’re running from something,” you said suddenly.
He nearly choked on his water. “The fuck did you just say?”
You leaned against the ring, arms crossed, studying him with an expression that was way too goddamn knowing. “You fight like there’s something chasing you.”
He scoffed. “Tch. You don’t know shit about fighting.”
“I know about people,” you shot back.
His jaw clenched.
Because that was the problem.
You weren’t looking at him like a fighter. You were looking at him like a person. And that threw him off. It wasn’t just the intensity of your gaze; it was the way you seemed to see him—past the tough exterior, into something deeper.
He didn’t know what to do with that.
You didn’t go away after that initial encounter. Somehow, you kept showing up—at the gym, at his fights, infiltrating his thoughts at the most inconvenient times. You’d sit on the sidelines, a calm presence amidst the chaos, watching with that same unreadable expression that both intrigued and frustrated him. You didn’t fawn over him. You didn’t try to flirt or get his attention. You were just… there.
And no matter how much he tried to ignore you, he couldn’t shake the feeling that you were gradually unraveling him.
“Yo, you good, man?” Kirishima asked after a particularly exhausting sparring session, wiping sweat from his brow.
Bakugo scowled, his irritation simmering just below the surface. “The fuck kind of question is that?”
Kirishima smirked, a knowing light in his eyes. “I dunno, dude. You’ve been off lately. Like, you’ve been extra agitated every time (Y/N) is around.”
Bakugo’s fists tightened into balls at his sides, his heart racing. “Shut the hell up.”
Kirishima just laughed, unfazed. “Bro. You’re so obvious.”
There was nothing obvious about it, at least that’s what he kept telling himself. The truth was, every time he caught a glimpse of you cheering for him—your lips curled into that soft smile, your eyes sparkling with pride—he felt something shift inside him. Something he wasn't prepared to confront.
It was maddening how a simple presence could ignite a fire in his chest.
He cursed under his breath, pushing the thought aside. There was nothing to even talk about, nothing to feel. Because whatever this was—whatever you were doing to him—he wasn’t gonna let it get in the way.
He refused to let his heart get tangled in the mess of feelings he didn’t understand. But deep down, a part of him wondered if perhaps being a fighter meant more than just throwing punches. Perhaps it meant fighting for something—or someone—worth it.
So, as always, he did the only thing he knew how to do.
He trained harder.
And harder.
And harder.
Like he could beat the thought of you out of his head.
Like he could make himself stop wanting something he wasn’t supposed to have.
But no matter how hard he tried…You were still there.
And that was the real problem.
After that night, things… shifted.
He stopped avoiding you. Stopped pretending you didn’t exist.
You still weren’t pushing to be in his life, but somehow, you were just there—closer than before.
And maybe… just maybe… he liked that.
A little too much.
Recently, You started showing up at the gym more.
You never interrupted his training, never got in his way, but he could feel you there. Could hear the way you’d tease Kirishima when he dropped a weight. Could hear your voice in between the rounds of his sparring matches.
And you wanna know the worst part about it?
He started looking forward to it.
“You’re getting better,” you said one day, watching him hit the pads with his trainer.
He wiped sweat from his brow, smirking. “Tch. ‘Course I am. I’m not some weak-ass rookie.”
You rolled your eyes. “Never said you were. But you used to just go for the kill every fight. You’re starting to actually think in the ring.”
His smirk faltered.
Because that was true, too.
He fought like a ticking time bomb, each punch a detonation of raw power that sent shockwaves through his opponents. His reputation was built on pure brute force, but recently… everything had shifted.
He was evolving.
Taking a breath.
Learning the game.
Maybe it was because, for the first time, he had someone whose opinion actually mattered to him.
Shit.
This was spiraling out of control.
It wasn’t just in the ring anymore.
You started showing up in his life outside the gym, too. After every match, you’d be there, thrusting a water bottle into his hands before he could even catch his breath.
“You’ve got to hydrate, dumbass” you’d tease, rolling your eyes like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
And hell, he found himself addicted to the way you called him a dumbass with that playful grin.
Then there was that one night when Kirishima dragged him to a late-night diner, and there you were—totally unexpected.
But instead of bailing like he usually would, he took a seat next to you in the booth. He picked at his food, captivated by your animated argument with Kirishima about something ridiculously trivial. When you nudged his arm, asking for his take, he found himself responding.
Because he wanted to.
Because you were a blast.
Because, for just a moment, fighting faded into the background.
That’s when things got really complicated.
The real trouble started the moment he stopped denying it.
When he started craving your presence.
When he caught himself stealing glances at you when you thought he wasn’t looking.
When he realized your laughter was now his favorite melody.
And then the late nights came, when he lay in bed wide awake, staring at the ceiling, wondering what you were up to.
Did you think about him, too?
Oh hell.
He was in deep.
And he had no idea how to navigate this storm brewing inside him.
Bakugo didn’t know what the hell was wrong with him.
Scratch that—he knew.
He just didn’t want to admit it.
For weeks now, he’d been stuck in his own goddamn head, trying—and failing—to pretend that you weren’t the reason his focus was slipping. Every training session, every sparring match, everything just felt… off. It had gotten worse.
Everything about you messed with him.
The way you chewed on your lip when you were thinking, lost in a world that felt miles away. The way your voice softened when you spoke to him, just a little, as if he wasn’t the disaster everybody painted him to be. The way you looked at him—eyes bright and curious—like he was more than just his fists, more than the explosive temper that often burned those around him.
And now? He couldn’t fucking stand it.
Because he wanted you.
Badly.
And it was driving him insane.
“So,” Kirishima said, leaning against the locker room bench, arms crossed with that unnerving spiky smile plastered on his face. “You gonna tell her, or are you just gonna keep making that face forever?”
Bakugo scowled. “What fucking face?”
Kirishima smirked wider, his eyes twinkling with mischief. “The one you’re making right now. The ‘I’m a grumpy volcano that’s about to erupt’ face.”
With an annoyed grunt, Bakugo yanked off his gloves, throwing them into his locker as if they were the source of all his problems. “I ain’t makin’ a face.”
“Dude.” Kirishima exhaled dramatically, rolling his eyes. “You like her. It’s painfully obvious. You get all weird and broody whenever she’s around.”
Bakugo turned his back, trying to hide the heat blooming in his cheeks. “I ain’t broody.”
Kirishima ignored him, shoving his hands into his pockets with a casual confidence that only aggravated Bakugo further. “And she definitely likes you, too.”
That made him freeze.
His fingers tightened around the straps of his gloves, heart hammering in a way he really didn’t fucking like. The thought of you returning his feelings stirred something inside him—a mix of fear and hope that twisted his stomach into knots.
He forced a scoff, trying to mask the turmoil. “Tch. You don’t know that.”
“Bro, she watches your fights like she’s trying to figure you out. No one stares at someone that much unless they’re either obsessed or in love.”
Bakugo clenched his jaw, irritation bubbling up.
Love.
No.
That wasn’t what this was.
It couldn’t be.
Right?
Kirishima leaned forward, lowering his voice as if sharing a secret. “I’ve seen the way she lights up when you walk in. When she cheers for you, it’s like she’s rooting for a hero.”
He paused, letting his words settle into Bakugo's mind, each one weighing heavier than the last. “You could have something real, man. But if you just keep pretending it’s nothing—”
Bakugo cut him off, spinning around with a fierce glare. “Shut it! I’m not in the mood for your sappy bullshit!”
Kirishima raised his hands in defense. “Hey, I’m just saying what we’re all thinking. You can’t keep running away from this. It’s like you want to explode but you’re holding it back. Just tell her how you feel!”
But the thought of putting himself out there, of opening up, felt like a different kind of explosion—one that terrified him. A battle he wasn't sure he could win.
“What if I…?” His voice trailed off, the whisper fragile, almost foreign to him.
“What if you what?” Kirishima pressed, leaning in closer, eyebrows furrowed in genuine concern.
“What if she thinks I’m a total loser?” Bakugo shot back, the words slipping out before he could catch them.
Kirishima chuckled softly, shaking his head. “Dude, she’s been right by your side through everything. Trust me. She sees you. The real you. Not just the angry guy who blows stuff up.”
And in that moment, all Bakugo could do was stare into his friend's earnest eyes, the wheels turning in his mind. He felt the pressure build within him—not just the pressure of his own chaotic thoughts, but a surge of longing that was hard to ignore.
“What if I try?” he muttered, almost to himself.
Kirishima’s face split into a grin. “Now you’re talking! Just think about it. Taking a leap like this can lead to something incredible. And who knows? You might just find that she’s waiting for you to make a move.”
Bakugo took a deep breath, gripping his locker. The thought of finally breaking free from this never-ending cycle of confusion was both terrifying and exhilarating. But deep down, he knew he couldn't keep pretending anymore.
With every passing moment, the desire to grab you by the shoulders and confess everything grew stronger. He would have to face his fears—head-on, just like he did in every fight.
“Alright,” he growled, determination erupting within him. “I’ll do it.”
As Kirishima gave him a confident nod, Bakugo felt the familiar rush of adrenaline that accompanied every fight—but this time, it was for something much more important than just victory. It was for you. The challenge had been accepted, and he was ready to stop being the broody, angry guy everyone expected him to be.
Bakugo would fight for this, and he wouldn't back down. Not now, not ever.
Kirishima nudged him with his foot. “Dude, just confess already. It’s not like she’s gonna reject you.”
Bakugo exhaled sharply, running a hand through his damp hair.
Confess?
He wasn’t that guy.
He wasn’t soft. He wasn’t romantic. He didn’t have a way with words.
And what if he messed it up?
What if you looked at him differently?
What if—
Kirishima snapped his fingers in front of his face. “Oi. Stop thinking so damn much.”
Bakugo growled. “I ain’t—”
“Yeah, yeah, you ain’t thinking, whatever.” Kirishima rolled his eyes. “Just tell her.”
Bakugo let out a long, frustrated sigh.
Fine.
Fuck it.
If he was gonna do this, he was gonna do it his way.
Finding you wasn’t hard. You were always around the gym, watching his fights, teasing him after sparring sessions, lighting a fire in his chest that he couldn’t quite understand.
And just like always, there you were—sitting on the bench outside the gym, scrolling through your phone, waiting.
Waiting for him.
His stomach tightened at the sight.
He shoved the feeling aside and made his way toward you, stopping just a foot away.
You glanced up, a bright smile breaking across your face. “Oh, hey! Good fight tonight. You didn’t completely destroy the guy in the first round this time. Progress.”
He ignored the jab, shoving his hands into his pockets to hide the slight tremor. “Come with me.”
You blinked, surprised. “Uh. Okay?”
You stood, raising an eyebrow, but didn’t argue when he began to walk away—leading you down the dimly lit street. The hum of the city buzzed around, cars thudding in the distance, the faint flickering of a streetlamp overhead matching the anxiety in his chest.
Finally, he stopped near an empty park, hands still deep in his pockets. The air felt electric, charged with anticipation and the weight of everything he was about to say.
You tilted your head, your curiosity making you even more breathtaking. “So… what’s up?”
He exhaled sharply, staring at the ground like it held the answers to all his questions.
Fuck.
Why was this so hard?
He could beat the hell out of seasoned fighters, could take punches that would knock most guys out, could bleed for his dream—but standing here, he felt utterly paralyzed.
His hands curled into fists with frustration.
Then, finally—
“I like you.”
Silence.
The words hung in the air, heavy and final.
Slowly, you blinked.
“…Wait. What?”
His jaw clenched. “You heard me.”
A small smile tugged at your lips, transforming your face into a canvas of joy. “I think I did. But you might have to say it again.”
His eye twitched. “I swear to god—”
You laughed, the sound like music ringing through the night.
It irritated him and thrilled him all at once, making his heart race faster.
You crossed your arms, a mischievous glint in your eye. “Okay, let’s pretend I didn’t already know that. Why do you like me?”
His stomach flipped, twisting in a whirlwind of nerves.
“Tch. The hell kinda question is that?”
“A very fair one.” You raised an eyebrow, challenging him to explain the impossible. “C’mon, Katsuki. If you’re gonna confess, do it right.”
His face burned hotter than a raging flame.
This is a mistake.
Why the hell am I doing this?
But he was already in too deep.
So, fuck it.
He took a tentative step closer.
Then another.
Until you were right there, just inches away, your teasing expression faltering as you realized the gravity of the moment.
His voice dropped lower, rough yet full of depth. “I like you because you don’t take my shit.”
You inhaled sharply, eyes wide with surprise.
“I like you because you don’t look at me like everyone else does.”
Your breath hitched, and he noticed the way your lips parted slightly.
“I like you because you’re in my goddamn head and I can’t get you out.”
Your gaze flickered down to his mouth, and he saw everything shift in your expression, a mix of surprise and something he dared to hope was desire.
And then—
He kissed you.
Hard.
It was a surge of emotion, raw and unrefined. All teeth, heat, and a desperate need, as if the world around them had vanished and there was only you and him in that moment.
This wasn’t some innocent little crush.
This was him breaking.
Breaking down walls that had stood for too long, walls that had been built to keep everyone—and everything—out. But you had found the cracks, slipped through them before he even realized what was happening, and now—now—he was caving.
Your fingers fisted into his shirt, desperate, pulling him closer like you couldn’t get enough. And fuck, that was all the encouragement he needed.
He growled against your lips, something raw and almost dangerous, his hands gripping your waist in a vice, holding you there, pinning you against him like you were the only thing keeping him tethered to the goddamn earth.
You gasped, and he took advantage of it, deepening the kiss—hungry, reckless, all-consuming. It was messy, all teeth and heat and the undeniable, electric pull between you both.
He wasn’t thinking anymore.
He was just feeling.
You tasted like something dangerous. Something he couldn’t get enough of—like a match striking against gasoline, igniting something deep inside him that had been waiting to burn.
His fingers dug into your hips, pulling you flush against him, and he let out a shaky, almost desperate breath against your mouth.
More.
He needed more.
The feeling of your body against his, the heat of your skin seeping into him, the way your nails raked up his back, sending a sharp shudder through his spine—it was fucking addictive.
He had been starving, and now that he had this, now that he had you, he didn’t know how the hell he was supposed to stop.
Your lips moved in sync, perfectly, like you had been waiting just as long for this—like you had wanted him all this time, too.
And when you moaned softly against him, he damn near lost his mind.
His hand slid up your back, pressing against the curve of your spine, holding you impossibly close, swallowing the sound like it was his—because it was.
You were his.
And the realization hit him harder than any punch he had ever taken.
By the time he pulled back, panting, his forehead pressing against yours, he could feel your breath against his lips—shaky, unsteady, just as wrecked as he was.
You looked up at him, lips swollen, eyes dazed, and fuck, he had never seen anything more perfect.
He smirked, but it was different this time—softer, but no less intense.
“Tch. Told you,” he muttered, his voice rough from the weight of everything he had just let go.
You exhaled, blinking up at him, breathless but grinning, and shit, that smile—that goddamn smile—made something inside him snap all over again.
“Okay. Yeah. That was definitely a confession.”
He huffed a laugh, his chest still heaving. “Damn right it was.”
And when you reached up, tracing your fingers along the sharp edge of his jaw, tilting his face back down to yours, he knew—he fucking knew.
There was no going back from this.
The world could go to hell, the entire damn boxing circuit could collapse, and he wouldn’t care.
In that moment, with the stars shining overhead and the world spinning just for them, Bakugo felt something shift inside. No longer just a fighter or a hot-headed boxer—he was yours.
And he wasn’t letting you go.
Mine, he thought, and he knew he was ready to face whatever came next—together.
And for the first time in his life, he wasn’t afraid of wanting.
Something to Lose
Lando Norris x Reader
Summary: when Lando starts driving like he has nothing left to lose after a stop-and-go penalty during the Qatar Grand Prix, you are left with no choice but to reveal that he does have something to lose … it’s currently growing inside you
Warnings: reckless driving and pregnancy
Based on this request
“Lando, calm down.”
Silence. The kind of silence that isn’t empty but buzzing with tension, the sound of static humming just underneath.
“Lando, you have to calm down.”
The voice over the radio is steady but edged with something close to panic. It’s Will, trying to sound composed and professional, but Lando doesn’t care. His knuckles are white against the steering wheel, the sweat pooling in the fabric of his gloves.
“I’m fine,” he snaps, voice tight.
“No, you’re not fine,” comes the clipped reply. “You’re driving recklessly. You’ve already been warned twice about track limits. If you don’t-”
“I know what I’m doing!”
He’s not shouting, not quite, but it’s close enough. The car ahead of him looms into view, and he narrows his eyes. He’s lost so much time, too much time. Thirty-five seconds feels like a lifetime in Formula 1, and every fiber of his being burns with the need to claw it back.
“Lando, please,” Will tries again. “This isn’t just about you. Think about the team. Think about the other drivers.”
Lando sets his jaw, foot pressing harder on the throttle as he moves into the DRS zone. He’s close enough now, gaining. He can feel the adrenaline surging, the singular focus that blocks out everything else.
Except-
“Lando, you’ve got to listen.”
This time, it’s Andrea chiming in. There’s an edge of frustration to his tone, like he knows Lando isn’t going to.
“I’m fine,” Lando says again, more clipped this time.
“You’re not.”
He doesn’t respond. The car ahead is his target, and everything else fades.
In the McLaren garage, it’s chaos. Will mutters something under his breath, Andrea runs a hand through his hair, and Zak looks close to knocking the pit wall over in frustration. The radio crackles again, another futile attempt to break through.
“He’s not listening,” someone says, their voice low but frantic.
And then-
“Get her.”
Heads snap around.
“Are you serious?”
“Do you have a better idea?”
The silence that follows speaks volumes.
A headset is shoved into your hand before you can ask any questions. The words come in a rush. "He’s not listening to us. He’s driving like … just can you talk to him? Please.”
You blink, stunned, your brain trying to process what’s happening.
“On the radio? But I’m not part of the team. You’re not allowed to-”
“We’ll take the fine. Just please. He’ll listen to you.”
You hesitate, the weight of the request settling on your shoulders. Your fingers tighten around the phone. Somewhere in the pit of your stomach, there’s a familiar twinge of anxiety.
“Fine,” you say finally. “Patch me through.”
The radio buzzes, and then you hear him.
“Lando,” you say, your voice soft but firm.
There’s a beat of silence before his response.
“What?”
Just that one word, sharp and irritated. But you can hear it beneath the surface — the crack in his armor, the flicker of something vulnerable.
“Hey,” you say gently. “It’s me.”
He doesn’t respond immediately, and you press on, your heart pounding in your chest.
“You’re scaring them,” you say. “The team. They don’t know what to do with you right now.”
“I’m fine,” he says again, the words rote, mechanical.
“No, you’re not,” you counter. “Lando, I know you. I know how you get when you feel like everything’s slipping away.”
His silence is louder than anything he could say.
“You’re trying to prove something,” you continue. “I get it. But you don’t have to prove anything to anyone.”
“You don’t understand,” he mutters, voice low and strained.
“Don’t I?” You shoot back. “I’ve seen you like this before. I know how hard it is to let go when everything feels wrong, but-”
“It’s not the same,” he interrupts. “You don’t know what it’s like out here.”
You take a deep breath, steadying yourself.
“You’re right. I don’t. But I do know what it’s like to care about someone who doesn’t know when to stop. And right now, that’s you.”
He doesn’t answer, but you can hear his breathing, heavy and uneven.
You take a leap.
“Lando,” you say softly, almost a whisper, “think of the baby.”
The silence is deafening.
“What?” His voice cracks on the word, incredulous.
You swallow hard, your grip on the phone tightening. You hadn’t planned to say it, hadn’t even meant to — but now that the words are out, there’s no taking them back.
“I’m pregnant,” you say, the words tumbling out in a rush. “I wasn’t going to tell you like this, but Lando, please. You have to stop.”
The radio is silent for a long, agonizing moment. Then-
“You’re joking.”
“I’m not,” you say quickly, your voice trembling. “I wouldn’t joke about this.”
Another beat of silence.
“Are you serious right now?” His tone is softer now, laced with disbelief.
“Yes,” you say firmly. “I’m serious. And I’m scared, Lando. I’m scared for you, for us, for the future. But right now, I need you to stop driving like you’ve got nothing to lose.”
There’s a pause, the longest yet, and you can almost hear the wheels turning in his mind.
“I didn’t mean to-” he starts, but his voice falters.
“I know,” you say, cutting him off gently. “I know you didn’t. But you’re not just racing for yourself anymore.”
He exhales shakily, and when he speaks again, his voice is quieter, almost defeated.
“Okay,” he says finally. “Okay, I’ll ease up.”
The tension in your chest loosens, just a fraction.
“Thank you,” you whisper.
The radio crackles, and the team’s voices flood back in, relieved and frantic. Lando doesn’t say much, just listens, his responses clipped but calmer.
In the garage, the atmosphere shifts. People exchange glances, half-shocked, half-relieved.
Back on track, Lando slows, just slightly. His movements are still precise, aggressive — but controlled.
And in the garage, you stand there, the phone still clutched in your hand, your heart racing.
“Is it true?” Someone asks quietly, their voice barely audible over the chaos.
You look down, swallowing hard.
“Yes,” you say softly. “It’s true.”
***
P10.
Not a podium, not even close to the result he wanted, but after the chaos of the race, it feels like a victory.
The team cheers faintly through the radio, their relief palpable. Lando barely hears it. His mind has been somewhere else since your voice cut through the static, since your words landed like a punch to the chest.
“I’ll meet you in the garage,” Will says over the radio, but Lando doesn’t respond. The car rolls to a stop in parc fermé, and he yanks off his steering wheel with more force than necessary.
The marshals wave him over toward the mandatory weight check. He doesn’t even glance at them.
“Lando!”
Their shouts barely register. He’s already pulling himself out of the car, helmet in hand, visor still down. His focus is singular, tunnel-visioned: you.
The rules? The procedures? None of that matters. Not now.
“Lando, you need to-” one of the officials tries again, but he brushes past them, moving with the kind of intensity that no one dares challenge.
His gloves hit the ground first, discarded in haste, then his balaclava. The crowd around him blurs into nothing — team personnel, photographers, journalists — none of them exist in his world right now.
He reaches the McLaren garage in record time, his breaths coming fast and shallow. The second he sees you, standing off to the side with your arms wrapped around yourself, he freezes.
You don’t notice him at first, your gaze fixed on the ground, your foot nervously tapping. Then someone points, murmuring his name, and your head snaps up.
The moment your eyes meet, it’s like the rest of the world falls away.
“Lando,” you whisper, but before you can say anything else, he’s crossing the distance between you in long, purposeful strides.
“Is it true?” He demands, voice low but urgent.
You blink, caught off guard by the intensity of his tone.
“Is it true?” He asks again, softer this time, his eyes searching yours.
You nod, your throat tightening. “Yes.”
His breath hitches. For a moment, he just stares at you, his expression unreadable. Then, without warning, he pulls you into his arms, holding you like he’s afraid you might disappear.
“You’re serious,” he murmurs, his voice muffled against your hair.
You nod again, your cheek pressed against his chest. “I am.”
He pulls back just enough to look at you, his hands still gripping your arms. His eyes are wide, almost disbelieving, but there’s something else there too — something softer.
“I don’t even know what to say,” he admits, his voice barely above a whisper.
“You don’t have to say anything right now,” you reply. “I just … I didn’t mean to tell you like that, but you weren’t listening, and I was scared, and-”
“I’m sorry,” he interrupts, his voice breaking. “I’m so sorry. For scaring you, for being reckless, for everything.”
You shake your head, tears welling up. “You don’t have to apologize. I just — I needed you to stop. I needed you to come back to me.”
“I’m here,” he says quickly, his grip on you tightening. “I’m here, and I’m not going anywhere.”
The moment stretches, the noise of the paddock fading into a distant hum.
“I didn’t mean to put you in that position,” he says after a beat. “I should’ve been listening to the team, to you-”
“Stop,” you say softly, placing a hand on his chest. “We’ll talk about it later. Right now, I just need to know you’re okay.”
His lips press into a thin line, and he nods. “I’m okay. I promise.”
“Good,” you whisper, your voice trembling.
He leans his forehead against yours, his eyes fluttering shut. “I don’t know how I got so lucky,” he says, his voice thick with emotion.
“Neither do I,” you tease, trying to lighten the mood.
A laugh escapes him, shaky but real, and it’s like a weight lifts from both of you.
“Lando!” Someone calls from behind him. It’s Will, looking equal parts exasperated and relieved. “You skipped the weight check. You’re going to get a penalty … again.”
Lando doesn’t even glance back. “I don’t care.”
“Lando-”
“I don’t care,” he repeats, more firmly this time. His focus stays on you, his hands still resting on your arms.
“We should go,” you say softly.
“Not yet,” he replies, his eyes locked on yours.
The circus can wait. For now, all that matters is you.
ive been thinking of a scenario where namgyu’sgf!reader has been secretly hooking up with thanos as pay back for namgyu being a shitty boyfriend.. makes me die😩
meow so hot bruh thanos is so sexy it makes me so sad 😿 NEED THAT! pt. 2 | pt. 3
thanos(choi su-bong) x nam-gyu'sgf!reader imagine!! <33
warnings: 18+, cheating
you, nam-gyu, and su-bong were truly a powerful trio, you guys were all tight-woven friends being stringed together of partying and drugs before you decided to start dating nam-gyu, nothing changed much, but it was weird to know what was once your homie is now someone you fuck on the daily.
sadly, now nam-gyu just sucks, as a boyfriend, and as a person in general. he doesn't even take the time of his day to touch or even kiss you! ignoring all your texts with an "i'm busy." was stupid! he was stupid! what was he doing in the club anyway?? was he banging another chick?? why shouldn't you do the same?
you'd go visit his club in search of your boyfriend, only running into su-bong, or thanos as he's known for. "señorita?" oh that nick-name you were so familiar of. you'd think su-bong would still be out of the country, since he's gotten that big rap battle overseas, or because he's trying to escape his debt but you're still pleased to see run into him. "su-bong!, damn it, have you seen nam-gyu?" he pouted dramatically "i haven't seen you in weeks and ya' immediately talk about your boyfriend? whore." the last word was mumbled under his breath. you roll your eyes, you were used to giving and getting mean nicknames anyway, "fuck you, i heard that! but.. c'mon, have you??" "of course not, i just got here, angel, why are you looking for him?" you sigh. "because he's my boyfriend. what else?" thanos just remained looking at you, as if telling you to spill more. ".. and i think he's fucking another girl." he gasps, as a sarcastic reaction, "whaaat? no way, who would've thought." you furrow your brows. "what?! you know about this??" he shakes his head, chuckling to himself "nah. but he's a man, and the same pussy gets old after some time." he said, like it was a matter-of-fact thing that you should know.
"oh that jerk, i'm gonna fucking kill hi-" thanos pulls you back to him. "don't blame the guy, it's just normal boy stuff, you get it, right?" you scoff, "no. plus, my pussy doesn't just ... "get old!" " he tilts his head, "ehhhh. you've been dating for like what, 1 year? even i'll get pretty tired of it." you groaned. "i didn't ask you, su-bong. i know he's... he's better than that." he places a hand on the back of your neck, lightly petting you. "mmmm, if you think about it, if he's fucking another girl, how does it make you feel, babe?" you don't think, you respond immediately. "angry! that's what." "...and?" "it makes me want to ..i dunno. do something."
"guess you're in luck that i came here then."
"huh?" and before you know it, you're being dragged to one of the VIP rooms..
nsfw below!!->
"fuck.. man, all that days of fucking and god, he hasn't even stretched this cunt." he says as he guides your hips in a speedened pace, being kind enough to push his hips up to the rhythm of yours, he'd moan out from how you were clenching him. "p-please.."
"you're so tight, shit." in these moments, you'd forget about your shitty boyfriend, how you're cheating on nam-gyu inside his very own club. thanos pulls out before the two of you could ever release, making you go on your knees as he lines up his dick right inside your mouth. you could see him grabbing his phone and facing it above you, a red light near the camera. the video captured your muffled, disgusting moans against his dick, you seemed challenged, it seemed like you were trying to prove you were still good at it. it could also capture su-bong's praises, ones you could barely hear.
"you're doing so goood.."
"how could anyone ever get tired of this cunt?."
"you should look at yourself right now, baby."
and after all that, he'd place you on his lap, it wasn't much of an aftercare, but it was good enough.
"you enjoyed it? yeah?" you nod. "i just .. hope he doesn't find out..hmph.." "yeah, yeah, he's my best friend, can't let that happen." you smiled from the assurance, resting your head on su-bong's shoulders. you were too fucked out to hear how he was tapping the send button on his phone, sending his good ol' homie the video of you sucking his cock, typing away to send the text 'got your fine shyt sucking me off bro, what happened?', they're both jerks, guess the both of them really can't care less about you and your feelings huhu :<
also dat pussy is power 🙏🏻 this is so mean to namgyu but at rhe same time the prompt is so hot. hehe.
