I just finished reading the 2016 Batman run for funsies and I haven’t had the time to touch it yet.

Bruce;

falls from the moon (and survives)

goes through hundreds of dimensions to fight The “Joker” that Makes Other Jokers

gets shot near the heart at least 4 times, gets his hand cut off, stabbed through the chest, all while barely even functioning and still kicking ass

f ights alternate versions of his rogues gallery (and some of his friends) all of whom are more insane/mentally broken/venomed tf up. Again, while barely functioning

Utilizes a bat uniform from The Dark Knight Returns Universe, the utility belt of Adam West’s Batman, and uses shark repellant against a giant shark with joker paint on it that’s devouring the concept of Gotham.

I’m not even touching the failsafe comic intricacies where he gets blasted into another dimension, nearly all of his buddies get their shit rocked by robots made a suppressed alternate personality of himself made in case Batman went too far and killed someone (it was staged. Copplepot died). And so much more.

The very rough notes I gave were summarizing 10 total comics.

When I tell you that literally anyone from the DC universe wouldn’t bat an eye at Danny’s history, stories, rogues gallery, the fights he’s had, everything. I mean it

They’d absolutely be devistated a kid had to do so much at so young and deal with that much pressure as a child. But they damn sure wouldn’t be shocked. This is simply them doing the rounds of figuring out a new hero and their motivations

the robes are truly a hit amongst the team aka we dont have to use our brains and we just put on a robe its fantastic, mackie maffhew and nosey are on absolutely onboard unsurprisingly

The Case of the Devlin House (Reverse Verse!) as commissioned by @i-am-as-normal-as-you-are everyone thank Haunted!

The father of the Devlin family murdered his wife and children one night, and no one knows why. While investigating the case, Edwin finds a letter from the eldest daughter, in which she expressed her desire to go to college to get away from her father... and closer to the girl she loved. The family has been stuck in a loop since that awful night, and now Edwin is too.

I would love to see all of these! Such a loss for those of us who came after.

I gotcha: Clown Peter was in “Der Dompteur” (The Lion Tamer), a circus farce by Alfred Savoir staged in 1931 (pics tend to say 1932). The cast included Carola Neher, Fritz Kampers, and Gustaf Gründgens (wiki). I know you’ve seen these but might as well load up the pics here. I remember you liked his shoes!

It would've been neat to see Peter Lorre reprise some of his old theatre roles for films. I think some film adaptions I(as someone who admittedly knows nothing about these plays) would be most curious about are

-Springs Awakening, mostly to see what a film version of that beheaded ghost Moritz would look like. Seeing Pete and Lotte act together would be cool too, but that's if she also reprised her role of course

-Mann ist Mann to see how much of the surreal effects and metaphorical stuff you see in photos of Peter in that play and read about would actually make it into a film adaption, especially a theoretical hollywood film adaption

-Dantons Tod, because the plot sounds interesting, but also the snippets I've read about how Peter played St Just make him sound like something of a predecessor to Petes portrayal of Cairo and seeing Pete in the role would sate my curiosity about whether or not that's a correct assumption. I can definitely imagine a film adaption of Dantons Tod made shortly after TMF with a director who just wanted Peter to play Just as a Blond Cairo, similarly to how Toadys scenes in Rope of Sand have a bit too much in common with Ugartes in Casablance

And finally, I don't remember the name, but whichever play has Peter Lorre dressed as an emo mime/clown thing cause I love the way he looks in the photos that exist of him in that garb very much
