The Great Shift: Speed Dating

Ok, so dating in your 30s can be hard. Even harder after the world has suddenly decided all of its inhabitants would suddenly swap bodies! If you thought it was hard to truly get to know someone before, it was nearly impossible now. You’d think that the differences and bodies people were exposed too would lead to more emotionally intelligent people, but no. Instead shallow just comes in all sorts of new flavors these days!

“Wassup I’m Aidan!.I’m 24, well now I’m 34 due to the shift. And well you can see I’ve got a lot of good assets to show.”

I rolled  my eyes as this wannabe tough guy was trying to impress me. Sure he had an incredibly built body and intricate tattoos, but it was all surface level!

“Nice to meet you Aidan. You go to all of these speed dating events without a shirt?” I asked gingerly sipping my water.

“Only when I’m talking to a handsome guy like yourself.”

Gag. If I had a dime for every post shift hottie said that. 

“Charming. So Aidan tell me about yourself. I mean before the shift what did you do for a living? What do you do now?” I asked.

He scoffs. “I used to be a computer programmer. You know boring office stuff. Then I swapped into this juggernaut and been living at the gym ever since. Quit my old boring work and been trying to become a trainer at my local gym.”

“So let me get this straight. You were able to sustain yourself on a safe indoor office job and now you’re trying to go into  a new occupation you have no experience in because you want to flaunt your muscles?” I inquired further arching my eyebrow.

“Um... when you put it like that...” Aidan stammered looking called out.

“Next!” I rang the bell on the table signalling the rotation and the next person to join my table. 

Aidan slumped his massive 6′5 frame away looking dejected, but as soon as he started flexing to himself he shrugged and moved on. Maybe another guy would like this wannabe muscle guy. I just hope he was so driven by those muscles he’d have the motivation to maintain them. So many people received huge powerful bodies, but without the knowledge to maintain them they just went to waste.

“Hey there sexy? Fred is the name, dating you is my game.” A beefy looking firefighter said, with a burgeoning gut about to strain his suspenders. 

“Wow. Coming on a bit strong Fred. Please. Start from the beginning.  Your name is Fred. Great. What’s with the fire fighter attire? Are you a fire fighter or was your body a fire fighter before the shift?” I asked wincing at this cringe intro.

He smiles and strokes his beard appreciatively while at the same time flexing his beefy arm. “Well I’m not... yet! This body used to be the best firefighter in the district! Then all of a sudden the shift happen and I go from university student studying engineering to the most buff in shape guy with 6 pack abs I’ve ever seen!”

I look down and notice the obvious lack of abs. “Ok. Makes sense... so now you’re trying to  be a firefighter? Just like your body before you. That’s... noble. I’m really glad to see you give back to the community.”

Fred smiled. “Thanks! I’ve been trying for awhile now, but I can’t get through the physical test! It’s like I’m not as strong as the guy who used this body. Weird. Right now I mostly play video games and stream shirtless in these suspenders. My viewers love seeing me. I’m FireXFighter69 on Twitch and YouTube! Check out my video on-”

“Next!” I say ringing the bell once more. 

“Damn. Didn’t work out... are you gonna finish your food there? You hardly touched it.” Fred pointed at the snacks provided at the table.

“Sure Fred. Good luck on your next date.” I said as Fred left with the plate of food.

Some people could be oblivious of their own faults and try way too hard. Am I asking too much for people to just be honest and not hide behind some sort of facade? I get people can be nervous, but it’s certainly better than trying to get to know a character who isn’t even real.

“Hey there bitch!”

“You’re hot as fuck and I know you need a real man to show you how it’s done.” 

I didn’t know how to respond to such an abrupt entrance. I thought Aidan was cringe, but this guy was a whole new level. Flexing in my face, flipping me off, calling me names? Was he trying to neg me in less than 5 minutes?

“I can see you’re stunned by my natural masculinity. I don’t blame you. I’m an older guy given a second chance in this buff young jock. I found myself out of shape at 50 thrown into this guy mid football game. I’m no stranger to the gym so i just buffed myself up even more than that kid could. Now I’m here and ready to fuck you. So. What do you say? Wanna get out of here and ditch all these idiots?”

“Next! Sooo much next! You don’t get to dominate the conversation like this And you are NOT the type for any reasonable person here. I hope you find some sub willing to put up with your shit.” I retorted with a glare.

I see the guy in front of me blanch embarrassed! “Bastard! You’d be lucky to have me. I oughta!” He raised his hand to slam the table! Or me! But soon security escorted him out.

“I.... wow. That’s the worst one to end on. But I might as well go. There are clearly not any guys for me here.” I was about to get up when this cuter guy came over.

“Hello! I... wow. I saw what happened. Great job for standing up to that guy. He seemed like such a creep. I’m Elijah by the way... were you heading out?”

I was caught off guard. This man was so handsome! He wasn’t posturing like the rest, but I still he was making an honest effort despite his trepedation. His voice faltered a bit, but its deep resonate tones made that sound sweet. He was holding himself in a reserved posture, but even as he nervously clasped his hands I could see biceps  raise and strain his shirt.

“I was... but I think I’d like to get to know you. I’m Omar. I just turned away a few guys who were being absolute jerks. How about you? Elijah was it?” I said a bit blushing.

“Yeah! Well I recently graduated post great shift. I finished my last semester at the local community college in a new body. I’m in my neighbors body. Big guy! Great beard, but I’m still getting used to maintaining it. I’ll admit. I’m working part time at the local library till I find a job more suitable for what I studied in school. I’m 22, but my new biological age is 35. I do some painting in my free time and love exploring new parts of the city now that a lot of it has been rebuilt since the shift.” Elijah explained.

“Oh! Have you checked out the bar across town? It used to be a gay bar called The Tank! Now it’s changed its name to The Sea! Since there’s so many more sexualities represented there!” I offered.

“Haha! Love that. That’s clever! The tank has gotten bigger! I get it! I uh... Maybe you and I could continue our conversation there, over drinks?” Elijah blushed.

“I’d like that. Let’s get out of here!” We both stood up and took each others hands. Gosh his were so warm. Not to mention they felt so strong. He’s got quite the grip! I took a few steps so enamored by him I nearly fell, until he caught me in his arms. My face went right across his chest as I looked up to him before standing back up.

“Thanks for the catch. I uh.. Wow. You’ve got quite the cologne. What’s that scent?” I asked so curiously.

“Oh! Sorry!” Elijah was blushing even more. “I’m not wearing any. That’s just how my body smells. Hope it wasn’t bad.”

My eyes widen again. “It’s fine. Perfect actually. I love it. Lead the way Elijah.”

Elijah giggled. Hearing such a deep voice let out something so whimsical was the cutest thing I’ve seen tonight.

“I feel so lucky walking out of this place with you Omar.” Elijah said.

“Oh come on. I’m sure you would’ve found an awesome guy to spend then night with. You’re quite the charmer.” I retorted.

“I’m not the one looking like Henry Cavil!” Elijah laughed.

We both laughed. It was true. Ever since I looked like a celeb dating has been so hard. People try so hard to impress me, that it was such a breath air to talk to Elijah like a normal person. 

“Well tonight I really do feel like the man of steel because you are making me quite hard.” I smirked at Elijah, now blushing to the max.

“I... I... normally cheesy lines like that don’t work on me, but coming for you I.... gosh let’s get to that bar!”

We ended up walking aware from that speed date very satisfied. Perhaps even the hot people need help finding love after the shift. Who knows. I never said I was perfect, but tonight I sure am excited to see how far Elijah and I go!

On Transphobia as Cultural Imperialism

On 1 August 2024, Imane Khelif, an Algerian, and Angela Carini, an Italian, two Olympic women's boxers, fought a second-round boxing match. 46 seconds into the match, after two powerful blows from Khelif, the Italian withdrew from the match, reportedly exclaiming "It's not fair!" and complaining that she had never been hit so hard in her life.

Khelif is a cisgender woman with a build that reads, to many, as masculine. The international governing body for boxing, a corrupt organisation run by a Putin-backed wannabe Russian oligarch, had previously banned Khelif from participating in matches on the basis that genetic testing found that Khelif had XY chromosomes, indicating a possible intersex condition. To be intersex is a distinct thing from being transgender, but most people don't know or don't care to learn the difference.

What this precipitated has been well-documented. British right-wing television channel TalkTV called the fight "Domestic violence turning into spectator sport", while disgraced YouTuber Logan Paul called it "the purest form of evil". J. K. Rowling, posting a picture of Khelif placing a hand on Carini's shoulder in a show of good sportsmanship, accused Khelif of smirking and misgendered her as "a male who knows he's protected by a misogynist sporting establishment".

Khelif's father stated "My child is a girl. She was raised as a girl. She's a strong girl. I raised her to be hard-working and brave. She has a strong will to work and to train." After the end of the Olympic Games, Khelif immediately launched legal action against her critics.

Imane Khelif comes from Algeria, a former French colonial possession. It is pointed that she managed to win a gold medal in the heart of France.

Algeria is one of 63 countries around the world in which homosexuality is illegal, punishable by imprisonment and fines. Algerian law does not recognise the possibility of changing one's gender.

The accusations levelled against her by predominantly white Western commentators who hail from Britain and the United States, therefore, have a certain colonial edge to them. This is not to suggest that Algerian legal attitudes to homosexuality and transsexuality are morally defensible, far from it. But this debacle constitutes the projection of a specifically Western hatred - that is, transphobia in the guise of feminism and protecting lesbians - on to a person from a country that criminalises homosexuality and does not recognise transsexuality.

Transphobia of this kind is becoming a kind of colonial cudgel. The idea of men "dressing up as women" to overtake "real" women is a specifically Western concern, a reaction to increased visibility and accommodation for transgender and non-binary people. This anxiety operates within a specific cultural and political context, and one that is by no means global.

While it may apply in Italy, where homosexuality and transsexuality are recognised, It does not apply at all in Algeria, for example.

Rowling, Paul, and various other blustering commentators saw a woman with a masculine build fight another woman, and concluded that this woman was a male infiltrator who had somehow made it to the Olympics.

This is not to say that the treatment of Khelif would have been acceptable if she had been transgender. Far from it. But this mass-libelling was both transmisogynist and colonialist: transmisogynist because it relied on hateful tropes about trans women, and colonialist because it removed Khelif from her ethnocultural context and placed her in a Western context that did not and could not apply to her. She was expected to fit the norms of Western society, and she was publically harangued for it.

This has happened before, of course. Caster Semenya, a South African middle-distance runner found to have the intersex condition 5α-Reductase 2 deficiency, was banned from many athletics events due to the "unfair advantage" conferred upon her by her naturally higher testosterone levels, and continues to fight court battles to let her run.

(The argument has become cliché at this point, but Michael Phelps, a man with various bodily mutations which happen to make him an exceptionally good swimmer, has never been asked to return even one of his twenty-eight Olympic medals.)

Transphobia of the kind that is now popular across the political spectrum in the Western world has become a tool for a pernicious kind of cultural imperialism that is, quite simply, fascist. It stems from a colonial, white supremacist, hegemonic mindset, which insists that the Western world has the purest ethics, and everyone in the world must be held to such standards.

I am not a moral relativist. I do not believe that queer, trans and intersex liberation only works for some cultures. I believe in and support queer, trans and intersex liberation worldwide.

But by the same token, I do not believe that Americans and Britons should be allowed to demand that everyone in the world is an American or a Briton, to be treated like an American or a Briton. I do not believe that the collective white saviour complex of Western liberal democracy and capitalism will liberate queers, trans and intersex people.

And I certainly believe that the mass-crybullying of athletes who happen to excel at what they do on the basis of pseudo-feminist white woman pearlclutching can and should be called out for what it is: cultural imperialism.

It is the white Western world demanding that the entire world be brought to heel.

We must reject this, and we must not fool ourselves into believing this is mere idiocy. Mere idiocy is one thing. Trying to ruin a person's life because you assume every muscular, square-jawed woman is a secret man in disguise, because you're Oh So Fucking Feminist And Just Trying To Protect Women And Girls From Disgusting Violent Men is, quite simply, fascist crybullying.

Accept no excuses or apologies from these wheedling maggots. They want everyone who is not like them dead.

DMD GEN3 Fan Meeting in Bangkok "Friendship Never Ends" Fancams links & my personal notes

Disclaimer: I watched all the performances on my Twitter timeline. All the photos, videos, clips are not mine. This is just for archival purpose.

I think of fan meeting as a way for a company (especially small like DMD) getting more money to invest in their productions and pay their talents. Therefore, even though the performances might not be perfect, I still view them positively and try to appreciate them for what they are. I know there are people dislike actors singing and dancing, call them "idol wannabe" but a fanmeeting is 3-5 hours long, you cannot entertain your fans by just playing games. Besides, some actors actually enjoy performing and some consider it a way to pay back for fans. So yeah, in general, I don't mind actors singing and dancing. If I don't like it, I will just ignore. And I have soft spots for the DMD Boys always, there's that.

GEN 3 – ศูนย์รวมความน่ารัก (Cuteness Center)

I unironically love this song. I love boy group, bubble gum pop songs. And this song is just like that. Simple cutesy catchy. This fancam is the only full member fancam I can find on Youtube.

They cut it short so each performance is around 2 minutes. I enjoyed all of them. The reason why Mark was in the bear costume until the very end, I believe, was to surprise fans. Because before this, they showed a VCR where all the established pairs in Gen 3 were all paired up (duh?) via lucky draws. It ended with TeeTee, Latte and Gems opened their draws and acted surprised. And then Gems started his performance on his own, tricking fans into thinking he would perform solo again I supposed.

There are better fancams on Twitter but they are all vertical and I don't like how Twitter requires login to view so...Anyways, Gems is cute and Mark has long hair XD

LatteKim — "ต้องชอบแค่ไหน (FIRST LOVE)" by PRETZELLE

Latte was just so endearingly bad at dancing I couldn't help but falling in love with him. He know he's not good but still he earnestly tried his best :") It is better if he has something to act on (i.e a storyline, or with another characters rather than alone on stage). The way he pulled Kim in and Kim's reaction at the end, I was screaming. I was a fan that was satisfyingly served. Nice song too, +1 in the playlist.

PorTeeTee — "ดีดี (UNEXPECTED)" by JAYLERRxPARIS

Cuties 🥺 Love the bubble gum pop song, the idol boyfriends vibe. They are good at dancing and singing. Added a new song to my playlist +2. I was a fan that was satisfyingly served +2.

Por also posted on Twitter about taking his personal in-ear monitors out for this stage and feeling thankful to be on stage again after a long time, and I'm like :') I don't know if those are the same one he got when he was in DVI, but still :') His ex bandmate also replied to the in-ear monitors tweet :') (I know he technically got on stage before in the DMD Charity but it was more for funsies and not officially with elaborated stages and back-up dancers like this). Happy for him and TeeTee for getting the chances to do what they love as parts of their jobs.

TleFirstone — "Die with A Smile" by Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars (+ a little interview after the performance)

When it comes to singing, TleFirstone always delivered. Great harmony. They sang it a little "lighter" (if that makes sense?). However, I have listened to the original too many times, I just cannot listen to this more than twice without getting tired :'( which is a shame. Also, why did they stand 5 feet apart, finding a decent photo with both of them in it is hard =)))))

Tle apparently got sick when practicing just 1-2 days before the fanmeeting and had to get an injection and then hurriedly went back to practice :(

ThomasKong — "Green Tea & Honey" by Dane Amar

They were having so much fun together and so was I :"). Cute and romantic. The song is not for me but still, I was a fan that was satisfyingly served +3.

KengNamping — "งานเต้นรำในคืนพระจันทร์เต็มดวง (A Dance on the Night of a Full Moon)" by Cocktail ft. New Napatsorn

They sang beautifully and they got a little dance together near the end. And then Keng just starred at Namping for at least solid 10 seconds before lightly brush Namping's hair. I felt like a Victorian man seeing a woman's ankle for the first time. I was a fan that was satisfyingly served +4. Added a new song to my playlist +3.

They also played the project video made by the collaboration of all the official fanclub of each member. Namping Official Fanclub tweeted to say thank you to every FC in this project and for Kong Official Fanclub, they are thankful that although they fought at that time, they still cooperated to finish the project XD.

There is this one line in the video that I really like "For as long as I exist, you will be loved." (which may or may not inspire me to write a love story.)

Conclusion:

Everyone is great. They have improved a lot :") All the performaces are enjoyable to me. Love how many fans came for their faves but still wholeheartedly supported and cheered for everyone in Gen 3, and even Marks, Kim and Por. I saw many accounts that dedicated to one members posting fancams and praising other members. Remind me of K-pop fandom a lot :") A nice fandom experience. 10/10 ❤️❤️❤️

The streets of Gotham were always grim. Thick fog rolled down the alleyways and the steady hum of sirens rang all through the hours. You don’t know how you became this you just did. You don’t think you regret it either.

You didn’t have a grand name attached no Bat to your title. No looming silhouette that commanded fear. You went with what you had. Damn, good homemade gadgets and Youtube.

It was better this way. You needed no fame from the public, you didn’t do this for the attention or compliments. You didn’t fit into the shadows you stood out and with the sense of justice you had, it was perfect.

Operating alone. Methods craved from different heroes and Youtube tutorials you followed. It should’ve failed the first day but raw determination plus a hell of a lot of atheliecitsm can lead you a long way.

But this was Gotham, it seemed that no vigilante could remain entirely off the radar. The first time you crossed paths, it had been an accident.

The scent of rain lingered in the air as you sat crouched on a rooftop. An old warehouse in the Narrows. Your eyes scanned the street below spotting people. Drug dealers. Three men, unloading something suspicious from the back of a van. Typical. They were about to make their move when a blur of motion above them caught their attention. 

A masked figure dropped onto the rooftop. A fucking child. The stylized ‘R’ made it clear you were too close. You worked to damn hard to stay away from the bats some snot-nose kid isn’t gonna stop you now. That's what you should’ve said.

It took the dealers a moment to process it. This wasn’t a wannabe. The kid was good. His posture was sharp, his movements precise, as he took down the dealers like it was the easiest thing in the world.

You also should’ve helped but the kid looked like they could handle it. Maybe it was bad saying you admired the kid almost. The way they carried themselves was good more people need to have that confidence.  You just sat there watching until the kid dropped the dealers in a pile and stood there, hands on his hips, waiting.

Waiting for you.

You didn’t move right away, didn’t rush in like some rookie. You let the silence stretch out between you, watching the kid. There was something unsettling about this maybe because he was so tiny.

You haven’t been in the game for to long but you the Bats didn’t leave loose ends. So, if Robin was here fat chance another is lurking near or would be soon. Worst case seconrio Batman shows up. Best case its just you and the kid.

But you didn’t flinch at the either thought. This is Gotham, not going to fix itself. Not by itself, anyway. So you stay brave and don’t break eye conatct. Like cats in the wild except one is a cub- weird thought. Stay on track here.

"You can come down, you know," Robin said, voice sharp. The cocky edge to his words made your fingers twitch. You hated this. But then again, maybe you were a little jealous.

“Did not realize Batman led child soldiers” you stated. The kid tilted his head as if angered by your words. "I’m just here to make sure you don’t screw things up." He was provoking you his stance screaming for you to make the first move.

You exhaled, letting your fingers hover near the edge of the rooftop. "I’m not screwing anything up, kid. These assholes were about to unload some bad shit. I had it covered" you assured.

Robin stepped forward, his boots squeaking as he did. Just before you got cussed out by a child small voices where heard. Not small but far away. It was like you both were on the same brain cell as both moved into action.

Cue fighting sequences where you have to work together to take down a group of thugs. Sorry…

Robin landed next to you as if he’d just been waiting for the dramatic timing. His boots made a soft thunk on the rooftop as he glanced down at the thugs they’d just neutralized, then turned his attention to you.

“You’re faster than I thought," he said, his tone giving nothing away. Weird ass kid. You gave him a brief look. "Yeah? I get that a lot."

You tried to sound casual, but there was an unfamiliar knot forming in your stomach. "You don’t talk much for a vigilante," Robin remarked, his expression unreadable behind the mask. “Most of you have an ego the size of Gotham”

A dry laugh slipped from your lips. “I’m used to being alone” you explained. Finally, you met his eyes or mask you should say. There was a beat of silence before Robin tilted his head, considering your words carefully.

“What do you want out of this?” he asked, quieter now, almost like he was genuinely curious.

It was a question you hadn’t asked yourself in a while. You’d never really given it the time of day mainly because you didn’t want to think about it. Maybe because you fear theres no good answer. You don’t want to know.

But your brain chooses when to work with you. And in that moment you realized with a jolt that you hadn’t really been doing this for anything at all.

"I don't really know," you admitted, voice softer now. "Maybe just... to stop it from happening to someone else. People get hurt here, and no one really notices until it's too late."

Robin didn’t say anything at first, his eyes flicking toward the ground as he seemed to digest your words. When he looked up again, there was still that brash kid you just saw, but underneath maybe he did understand you.

“How weird” he whispered. A laugh escaped from you. You hadn’t expected that but what should you have? He folded his arms over his chest with a huff. "Still, don’t think this means you get a pass,” he said, his usual cockiness creeping back in. "I’m keeping an eye on you”

You rolled your eyes but couldn’t help the small smirk tugging at the corner of your lips. “You’re one to talk, kid. You’re practically his shadow.”

Robin’s eyes narrowed an unspoken challenge held between your gazes. “Not his shadow,” he corrected. "I'm my own person." You couldn’t help but wonder what kind of burden it was to live under the shadow of a legend, especially one as imposing as Batman. It was a thought that crossed your mind too often, and one you hadn’t really thought to bring up with someone like Robin of all people.

You broke the silence and slapped a hand on his back "Well, kid, I guess we make a pretty good team. Even if I still think you’re a little too young to be out here." Robin shot you a look, one eyebrow quirked.

I've ran this Incredibles blog since 2018, but I've loved the franchise since 2004! With Incredibles 3 just announced, I thought now was the right time to write a new intro post, since I'll (hopefully) be getting more active.

I like to post about theories, headcanons, and any and all general Incredibles-related thoughts. I also love getting asks with your thoughts and headcanons about the series. I'd love to talk about the Incredibles with you!

I have some playlists of Incredibles-related stuff like bonus features, deleted scenes, the scores, and other stuff, if you'd like to check those out. I have a soft spot for all the characters, but my most beloveds are Voyd and the rest of the wannabes, Mirage, and especially the Deavors! I also love the glory days supers, especially Gazerbeam. I'm definitely a multishipper and Hevelyn, Wingazer/Winsterbeam, and Evelage are some of my faves. I don't have a problem with most ships unless they're incest or adult/minor - Winlet, Synlet, Elastigale, etc.

I haven't written Incredibles fanfic in a hot minute, but the fics I'm most proud of are:

🦸‍♂️ The Soaring Six & the Queen of Hearts: 130k words, T-rated, general (no pairings), focused on Voyd and the other wannabes as they adjust to life as supers in New Urbem. I wrote this in a fevered haze powered by the strongest hyperfixation I've ever gone through, and it's still the longest thing I've ever written and the only novel-length work I've ever finished! I know it's long and the lack of romance can be a turn-off, but if you decide to give it a shot, please let me know what you think - I'd love to hear it! 🦸‍♂️ Five times Gazerbeam didn't get the joke (plus one time he did): 12k words, T-rated, oneshot, Gazerbeam/Winston Deavor. This pairing only has a flimsy basis in canon, but I love it so so much, and this fic basically encapsulates all the reasons I'm obsessed with them. Winsterbeam you will always be famous.

from experience, i can say that you're not the only one who didn't like Dan's dd persona and was either driven away or almost driven away. i wasn't, but i understand why dd had that effect on people. it's up to you to watch dnpgames or not, but i'm sure we're not gonna see that type of persona there. it's safe to say that it was a character. a very exaggerated version of angry, annoyed, mean and sarcastic Dan. it doesn't mean that he wasn't saying what was in his mind opinion-wise. i'm sure he stands by important statements he made during dd.

the difference is, dnpgames is not a wannabe standup comedy channel, not a reaction to phandom's submissions channel, and not a mocking youtube's algorithm channel. it's just Dan and Phil bantering, screaming and playing games. if Dan tries to put on dd persona i hope Phil hits him. or i will.

Yo since a supposed fan of Hazbin just legit kinda called my crippled ass "insane" for the crime off riffing of their hazbin post in the Hazbin Hotel tags with my own commentary, I was thinking about having a sense of whimsy and (finally) finding like at least an AMV to Daisies by Black Gyph0n .... The only problem is I've kind of grown to despise Gabriel C. Brown and Micheal Kovach and his cult... And despite having absolutely no beef whatsoever with our Pilot Girlies and still loving them to pieces ..... I honestly couldn't even bring myself to so much as try to listen to "Thank You! Goodnight!" or whatever it was because I was just so disappointed in all but one of The Pilot Boys behaviors regarding/after/during the recasting process and I realized it was mostly just a move to smooth the waters and make everything "okay" ... But I just didn't wanna deal with reading any of the inevitable whining in the comments and I just don't fuck with having a parasocial relationship with any of the cast members of this series and of course the one boy in the pilot cast that I did just so happen to not so accidentally catch a lil' teensy bit of a crush on just like probably the majority of y'all can admit to at this point and thus I'm doing everything in my power not to perceive him parasocially outside of my personal relationship to his voice work and to his characters in fanart and on screen ... Hey! So while I haven't ever really modded Skyrim myself (save for a failed attempt in 2016), I do know a number of mods that may interest you!

Beyond Skyrim: Bruma — a first tease at the bigger Beyond Skyrim: Cyrodiil mod that's to come. Revisit the city of Bruma over 200 years after the Oblivion Crisis. Tangle with Thalmor agents, some orc whose wife skipped town, the infamous Colovian fur helmet, and a visit to the beautiful Chapel of St. Martin.

Legacy of the Dragonborn — There's a museum opening up in Solitude just down the street from the Blue Palace. Entering ultimately sends the PC on numerous quests to find items to fill the museum with. I think I've heard that it's best to start the mod with a new character save and let the mod direct the game play.

Live Another Life: Alternate Start — Are you tired of the same carriage ride into Helgen, near death via dragon, and having to follow Ralof or Hadvar through the shortest most repetitive dungeon in the game? Then approach the talking statue of Mara and pick literally ANYTHING ELSE!!!

The Shire — Do you want to go to Middle-earth from Skyrim? Too bad. This is Middle-Nirn. Visit the Tolkien rip-off you always wanted in Skyrim and hang out with some hobbits. They're short. The rangers are angsty and speak in obvious light metaphors. BUT IT IS FUN SO GOOOO

Second Great War — Imperial? Stormcloak? . . . secretly a Thalmor wannabe? Lead the charge in the Second Great War and lead your side to victory — or defeat. Settings allow for customizable warfare, making each playthrough a new experience. Mod content starts post Skyrim Civil War.

N.B: These are five major mods that I know come highly recommended. There are others that I've heard are good, including the Skygerfall, Summerset, Tools of Kagrenac, Serana Dialogue Addon, Midwood Isle, Clockwork Castle, and Saints and Seducers Extended, but I don't know enough to give more in-depth information. HeavyBurns on YouTube is worth checking out as he has multiple mod list videos that go through expanding or changing different parts of the game.

hi everyone this is laur (except im changing my alias to august) and i figured i'd do all of my muse announcements in one lil post <3

first of all, you might have noticed that i've k*lled alex. it wasn't a lack of muse so much as i felt that he didn't suit wannabe's premise as much as i'd hoped he'd evolve into. even after his closest friends were getting signed, he had no interest in being an idol so it was kinda a lost cause there... plus, i had wanted to bring yejun back since i dropped him about a year ago, and didn't want to break any rules, so... here we are now!

if u remember yejun you might also remember that i dropped him almost exactly a year ago bc of my terrible seasonal depression. well, i am happy to report that i am doing much better (so far) this year and regularly taking vitamin d makes a huge difference! so now the boy is here to stay.

tl;dr of any changes

i changed his history a bit so the last year+ was spent doing his military service; he's only recently returned in time to return to his studies this fall semester.

he's in @bejoomi's band! drummer (which is also a new skill).

tl;dr of his backstory

knew he wanted to pursue music professionally basically since middle school, however his parents are extremely opposed to the idea and would rather see him do something more “respectable” (aka something that he’ll actually make money at lol)

saved up his allowance to buy his own guitar and taught himself to play with the help of youtube because his parents said that if they were going to pay for instrument lessons, he’d have to learn violin or piano or something more “formal”… so as u can see as a child he was (respectfully) defiant and did his own thing anyway (also learned the drums somehow in this time)

he made a deal w his parents that if he could get scouted by an entertainment company by the time he graduated high school, he could pursue music. obviously, he is not a trainee or an idol, so that failed. so his end of the bargain was that he’d go to university for whatever they wanted instead.

he had to retake the exam once bc the first time he took it his scores were so bad so he started a year late and is currently in his sophomore year as an economics major. it’s still a mild disappointment to his parents since he has a brother who is a lawyer and the other is in med school, but it was the best program that yejun could get into.

needless to say. he hates economics. he’s doing his best but his motivation is at an all time low, he constantly feels burned out and tired, and honestly he’s probably depressed but he doesn’t know it bc he doesn’t think he’s “bad enough” to be “actually depressed” but he is just gaslighting himself honestly

interests and personality quirks

since starting economics school he’s slowly lost motivation to do anything that he used to do for fun, which unfortunately includes playing guitar. he hasn’t touched it in about a year… :( he is playing drums again tho

does the bedtime revenge thing where he stays up late when he really shouldn’t… he says it’s bc he doesn’t want to wake up and have to go to class

because he doesn’t sleep much at night he survives on a delicate balance between a caffeine addiction (he loves a good iced americano) and mid-day depression naps.

kinda hard to get him out and about these days… but that said he’s into video games, mostly team-based first person shooters, and is apparently a tank main. i don’t actually play any first person shooters so i have no idea of the details on this but he’s supposedly a decent player (nowhere near pro but able to be somewhat competitive in casual games)… when he’s staying up all night he’s probably playing games with his friends

also plays minecraft when he wants something slower paced… not particularly good at anything in it but he likes building his silly little house

oh by the way! he has an aunt who lives near his parents who visited often… she’d often make remarks about his chubby cheeks, call him fat and ugly, and after growing up hearing that constantly yejun honestly believes her

another fun (and by fun i mean decidedly unfun) tidbit is that he had a gf he was very serious about in his freshman yr of uni… it was a relatively short relationship but he genuinely thought he’d marry her. until she gave him chlamydia right after he came home from the military (he was going to propose too btw). turns out she was cheating! needless to say they broke up, yejun is now healthy after a round of antibiotics, and he doesn’t want to talk about her ever again. he tried a rebound or two to see if they’d cheer him up but they honestly made him feel worse so he ditched that idea pretty quickly… happy to stay single for now (supposedly)

plots & relationships

this boy… needs some friends in his life that’ll deal with his depressive tendencies and maybe push him out of his comfort zone. maybe a friend who keeps trying to set him up w other girls to help him find someone who actually makes him forget about his ex? or a friend who invites him out for coffee at least once a week just to make sure he gets out of the house for something other than classes sometimes… other cute ideas too pls i would like to put so much love into his life he has no choice but to get better

classmates too ofc… i dont expect anyone else to be an economics major but maybe they had some gen eds together? or were in the same freshman orientation and stayed in touch? i didn’t specify where he’s going but it’s not an arts school, so this is open for plotting out the details!

along w classmates… study buddies? they dont have to go to the same school or anything tbh they can just meet up at the same libraries, cafes, etc. and work on their own stuff… just having someone else around helps keep yejun on track a little bit better

high school friends too… he went to sopa thanks to the deal w his parents, so anyone he was close with then would’ve probably known about it and known what became of it… he’s a lot quieter and more subdued than he used to be so i wonder what your muse would think about that 🤔

i also do love some good antagonistic plots so maybe some old rivals who are happy to kick him while he’s down… alternatively rivals who miss his competition and want him back in the music/idol wannabe scene to help push them both

considered the idea of him having been in a band in high school with friends that’s since dissolved… so ex-bandmates might be cool

Circuit: Uses Tumblr as a sort of repository. Despite his minimalistic theme, his posts are long-winded and riddled with links to sources. He loves to hunt down misinformative posts and correct them, not in a mean way but in an attempt to stop the spread of misinformation. People start tagging him in things to ask him if they're true, basically using him as a search engine - which he loves.

Sharpe: An empty blog with a default pfp. It's gotten him on a few block lists, but that doesn't deter him from lurking.

Lug: Loads of cute animal pictures interspersed with gifs of wrestling matches. He'll also reblog any indie musical artist trying to get their start. He gained a lot of followers and popularity during the shanty trend after he posted videos of himself singing, getting Mobo to help him stitch Tiktok duet videos together. He has lots of friendly interactions with his fan base.

Claw: He reblogs things the other War Machines post, but he rarely makes posts of his own. Really only uses Tumblr to see what the others are up to.

Mobo: He runs a fandom blog, a faceless YouTube channel, and a Tiktok, and he's actually really good at juggling them all. just a rant cause brain

i struggle to even play older games that i grew up playing, i struggle to play basically anything thats not gta online and honestly its just that; 1. I have to be good at something, it used to be skateboarding, i can draw relatively well but chronic pain makes it hard, I'm not the best player on gta but i know im better than most people

2. Thats the game i was playing when i had my head injury...brain trauma and memory loss. It was hard at first to really even competently play gta remembering the number of click up or down in a menu where a hurdle but ultimately was good for my brain and memory health, but its because i mostly knew it before i wasnt a full tryhard but i didnt start at square one, playing ANYTHING else, except left for dead 2 with my boyfriend i feel frustrated and lost and it makes me feel so stupid and it makes me not even want to try new games i barely gave RDR2 a try and that mostly functions like gta, im mostly just rambling, i do love gta i enjoy grinding and playing missions and i enjoy messing around in freemode doing stupid shit with friends and i love making little toxic rat cunts that think they're hot shit cry and rage like little babies because the gay furry bent them over in the game, i just normal pvp and 1v1's and playing beach or sniping or trying to snipe someone from something or trying to RPG a or forcing a spawn trying to get a certain kek whatever it is is that can be a cool video or clip and the i fucking love making the videos i couldnt give a fuck less they're the least viewd thing on the channel i love making them and its proof youtube success isnt skill because the kid that sit in RC cars and Armored vehicles have 50k subs and 200k views every video and all they do is bait or fuck with real tryhard and make a 15 min video about "look at him he's gunna EWO" or fucking up some wannabe and claiming you beat a real tryhard meanwhile i swear we do the most epic shit ive seen a gta youtuber do:

We are litteraly un matched on console no one has done the kind of shit we do in the game since SUCE did back in like 2018ish years and it was on PC we do everything on console where there's not a shred of doubt every shot we take is just our aim and accuracy and every fight outcome is just skill, a video where someone starts a fight, loses, goes perma off radar, loses further and then job TP around just to continue to get fucked up even off the radar teleporting around gets maybe 50 views is fine by me cause at the end of the day i know we're just living our best life and making a little content out of a game we'd be playing anyway, and people we'd be fucking up anyway because we arent ever really trying, i wont lie yes some videos we try, but a good portion of the time we just arent its more that the rats and cheaters are extremely predictable im gunna end the rant here its basically just that i guess i cant go on any other game and come out on top over other actual competitive PvP players and cheaters i know as i just stated i dont even need to be good at the top teir like that to make content but idk we're mostly just doing what we want maybe i'll try to start streaming some other stuff maybe i'll try streaming diablo or fallout as well, maybe i need to entirly lose my ego when it comes to video games cause they're suppposed to just be fun right?
