ᯓ✶ part one ── part two
Everything was pure chaos. You could hear gunshots, screams, rushing footsteps, grunts of pain, the sickening sound of the bullet piercing flesh as you walked through the brightly colored corridors of the horrific, bloody place, a place that had turned into a war zone in the last thirty minutes.
Gi-hun had decided to rebel against the guards, creating an effective plan that had worked, as unbelievable as it seemed. Other players supported him in his idea, having his back through the war zone and basically just shooting everyone who didn't have a player number on their clothing.
In-ho guided you with assured steps, holding your hand tightly, stepping in front of you to shield you at all costs, and that if any of his guards were stupid enough to shoot in your direction, then he might as well take the bullet for you.
You didn't quite understand the reason why In-ho had separated from Gi-hun and the main group, nor did you understand the way his face had somehow suddenly morphed, turning authoritative and somber. Sure, he had said he knew a way to go around the pack of guards that blocked them from getting through to the main control room of the game's higher-ups, but how could he possibly know that? You had been by his side the whole time and never really had the spare moment to study and memorize the maze-like passageways, they all looked pretty much the same.
You had a theory, but you didn't really even want to consider it, it was wild, totally insane. Only someone who worked there would know precisely which way to go and which corner to turn.
There wasn't enough time for you to stop and demand some explanation from him either, so you just followed him around like a lost little puppy, strolling through the endless corridors of the place, stepping up some stairs until you reached an area that seemed absolutely off-limits for someone like you to trespass.
“In-ho?” you tried to call his name, walking up some more stairs, your fingers entwined between his, you gave his hand a gentle squeeze.
But he didn't stop, turning yet another corner, until you reached what looked like an elevator.
“Mhm? I'm here, don't separate from me, yeah?” he replied without paying too much attention to you, he didn't have to actually glance at you to know that you were scared, full of uncertainty and hesitation.
“Where are we?” you tried to ask once you two stopped in front of the elevator, you turn your head to look at him, eyes big and puzzled, “We can't leave the others...”
He finally drags his attention to you and his expression instantly softens, pulling your hand up with his to press soothing tiny kisses on your knuckles, restraining the urge to crack a smirk at the sight of your pretty face all scared and anxious. He could already feel himself harden in his pants from seeing your lips curl into a small pout.
“They'll be fine, nothing will happen to them”
The loud beep of the elevator pierces the tense silence and it almost makes you jolt, pulling your gaze up to the reddish light flashing on in front of you once the doors open. The gunshots can now be heard far off in the distance.
In-ho begins to step into it, but when he feels your hand pull his, he spins to look back at you, finding you still stood in the same spot, your arm straightened, fingers grasping his, and you look up at him with conflicted eyes, pleading for his mercy.
Quite literally, you stand firm on your spot, but at the same time, you hold his hand tightly and longingly.
“I need you to be safe, angel,” he began to tell you, trying to convince you, to follow him, to stay by his side, just as you had been doing so far, why would you stop now? “You are not safe here, with all those savages on the loose with guns, they are dangerous”
His expression darkens with revulsion, spitting out the words as if they were poison. You assumed he was referring to the guards...
“But my friends...” you mumbled, turning your head to look back, listening to the gunshots in the distance, beyond the long corridors, as if they somehow were somewhere else already, far away from you, an unreachable place.
In-ho placed his other hand on your chin, leaning closer to you and making you face him again, his thumb brushed the outline of your lower lip.
“Friends?” he grumbled the word with irony rolling off his tongue, his warm breath rasped against your mouth, his eyes gazed into yours with genuine hurt, he looked utterly disappointed by your words, “I'm the only one who cares about you here.”
Your lips half-opened as you held eye contact, scarcely whispering, as if someone else could hear you, “I know, but—”
“You can't save someone who doesn't want to be saved,” his voice uttered your name like something familiar, something he longed for, he craved, “Are you really willing to die for them? People who wouldn't give a penny for you? They are killing each other for money, not for friends, not for love. They are here for the money and they don't need you. You know it, come on, you're a smart girl,” he lifted his eyebrows, his other hand dropping yours and climbing up through your body to cup your cheek, forcing you to look at him, not wanting you to avert your gaze from him, “Would you die for them?”
You shook your head lightly, bearing in mind the weight of his words and absolutely locked in the darkness of his eyes, absorbing you in, “No”
He smiled, pleased by your answer and he kissed your lips once to praise you, his tongue lightly skimming the edge of your pouted lips, “Then, would you live for me?”
What he was telling you was crystal clear, it had a special significance, a special complicity, an intimacy there was between you.
To die for someone was not as meaningful as to live for them, to make them the purpose of life, to know what they were, what they had in their heart and beyond, and to love them anyway, to stay by their side, to be loyal to them and choose them above all else.
“Yes,” you breathed out before kissing him so passionately, looping your arms around his neck and just before you could jump his bones, In-ho stopped you, reluctantly detaching himself from you, his hands gripping the curve of your waist and squeezing you against his body, his forehead pressed onto yours for a few seconds, recomposing himself.
“That's my girl,” he gently kissed the corner of your mouth before tugging your hands and leading you with him into the elevator, at last, “Let's put all this behind us, hm? We have to stop them, otherwise no one else will.”
But you wanted him, somehow, you pushed all the killing and the blood behind and then suddenly, it was all him, the way he was gazing at you, how his hand went wrapped around your waist, hand sliding down to your ass to pat it twice, almost in a reprimanding way as he felt your soft lips attach on his neck when the elevator started to go up. You had to wonder how it was possible that the mechanism could carry the full weight of your craving and lust.
“Baby,” In-ho snapped in a disapproving voice, yet he lifted his chin, giving you more free access to his neck, his eyes closing as he felt your tongue sweep across his throat. He patted your ass once more, a little harder now, fingers clutching your hip tightly, “behave”
His hoarse, authoritative voice took you by surprise, causing you to inch away from him, looking up at him with big eyes darkened with desire, your hand lingering on his shoulder, squeezing it with eagerness.
“There's a slaughter going on out there and all you can think about is my cock slamming inside your little pussy, hm?” his gruff voice pronouncing those nasty words made your pussy twitch, your body aching for him by carnal instinct, “My girl's a filthy little slut...”
Before you could respond, the elevator doors swung open and the digital panel on the side indicated that you had gone up two floors, signaling that the place was much, much bigger than you thought.
In-ho pulled your hand gently, taking you with him through a dark hallway, until you entered a main room of an seemingly apartment, spacious and elegant. The sofas were of velvet, the walls black as midnight, a large screen hung on one of the walls, the lights hung in fancy chandeliers above your head. It resembled a suite of the most luxurious hotel.
He stepped closer to you from behind, predatory-like, sliding his veiny hands around your waist and pushing you softly to pace forward, his wet lips latching onto your shoulder and neck, making you sigh tremblingly.
“Do you like it?” he asked in a whisper, fingers fidgeting with the waistband of your tracksuit pants, "I had it fixed and cleaned for you"
“What is this place?” you asked him back, your eyes narrowed as you took cautious steps, your legs wobbly from all the goosebumps that ran through you from head to toe with every kiss he pressed against the conjunction of your neck and shoulder, unleashing a rush of emotions in the pit of your stomach.
His long, slender fingers caressed your lower tummy with affection and to give you a convincing answer, he kissed your skin one more time, before detaching his mouth from you, just barely, “Your home, princess. Isn't it what you always wished for?” a dark smile tugged at his lips, his fingertips slipping under your shirt, triggering goosebumps along your skin beneath his touches on your stomach. “A spacious and expensive place, that's what you said when they asked you what you wanted to do with the prize.”
“It's beautiful,” you awed, raising your big, marveling eyes to the gorgeous crystal chandelier just above you.
“A pretty home for a pretty girl,” he rustled against the side of your neck, too intertained in kissing and marking it with possession, “It's all yours— I'm all yours.”
A sheepish smile stretched wide on your lips as you felt In-ho pushing you with his body once more, urging you to walk towards the center of the suite, descending down two stairs until you stood in front of a set of sofas, with a dark glass table in the center, on it laid two glasses and a bottle of Whiskey.
Why would you ever need to care about anything else, anyone else? When you had him, this precious place and his heart, body and soul to offer. All for you.
You turned on your heels to face him, wrapping your arms around his shoulders and pulling him close to you. Before he could even gasp for breath, you kissed him, supplying him with your breath, your oxygen. And what else did he really need to live?
His fingers went up to his neck, sneaking between your bodies so that he could begin to unzip the jacket of his tracksuit, pulling away from you just a little and hissing as he felt your fingers tugging at his hair.
In-ho nibbled on your lower lip as he ended the long, passionate kiss, making you wail against his mouth, “We've got to be quick, baby, I've got to take care of the mess out there. They are waiting for my command.”
He was the leader, of course, how had you even missed that little detail?
And of course he was, it all made sense now.
The thought of him in the dark suit, with a black mask, giving commands and having the entire place running under his authority made your whole body flush, core aching for him, for some friction, anything he might give you.
You kissed him again, momentarily thinking that with every kiss someone was dead, a bullet was shot and blood sprayed. But the blaze inside you, the heat pumping through your veins and the way your pussy was weeping for him didn't let you have more than one single thought in your head that wasn't him.
Your head was possessed, your body submitted to him and your heart clutched in his hands. And all his undivided attention was on you, no matter that his place was under threat or that his guards were out there fighting, dying for him, no, all he could possibly afford to focus on was you.
So, soon In-ho had ripped your clothes off you, leaving you exposed, on full display for his dark, deep gaze to consume every inch in. Your arched back pressed against the velvety smooth back of the black sofa, his body right in front of you, like a starving predator. He was drinking a sip of Whiskey from his glass, never taking his eyes off you.
You blushed under his hungry gaze and motioned to close your knees, squeeze them together, but he was quick to lean down and rest a hand on one of them, caressing it affectionately and clicking his tongue disapprovingly.
Tch, tch, tch.
“You should have no shame, you're the most gorgeous thing I've ever seen,” he reassured you, setting the now empty glass back down on the glass table, letting out a shaky breath, “there isn't a moment when I'm not thinking about it, touching it, kissing it, fucking it...”
You threw your head back, panting as you felt In-ho's mouth kiss your ankle, caressing your leg with his fingers as he pulled it gently, forcing you to open them, with him standing right in between them. The gates of heaven unlocking for him.
“So fucking pretty”
He kept whispering over and over again, staring at your body in awe, as if you were the most beautiful work of art ever to be exhibited.
“My pretty baby”
He praised you and praised you and praised you, pressing kisses to your legs, your knees, your thighs, tongue flicking across little scars that cut into your skin, most likely as a consequence of one of the games.
“There she is... so pretty— shit”
He drunkenly muttered over your cunt, gazing at it throbbing and clenching around nothing.
Your scent was intoxicating and overpowering. He felt so weak and insignificant in front of the greatness of your body, the warmth it gave him, the beauty of your skin, your curves, welcoming him inside, calling for his name.
“In-ho” you breathed out, looking down at him with half-lidded eyes, feeling the way your wetness trickled down between your legs, dripping to the surface of the couch.
You were soaked, drenched, so sensitive to his touch and every little friction. And he had barely touched you.
“Mhm,” he hummed at your call, reaching with his path of sloppy kisses and wet licks all the way up your inner thigh. Your whole body buzzed as you felt his tongue swipe up your slick folds, getting a wet squelchy sound and he laughed huskily, looking up at you, “You're soaking wet,” he marveled, pressing the tip of his finger against your pussy, his thumb teasing just right your aching, swollen clit, instantly getting a whimper out of you.
The finger slid inside so smoothly and shamelessly that it had him choking back a groan.
“Could you take all of me right now?” his voice cracked, words crawling up his throat like groans, so hoarse and deep that it sent vibrations through your center throughout your body, “I don't think we have much time to play”
You were nodding your head the second he finished speaking, your throat making a whining noise that made him crack a smile as he gently placed a kiss once on your cunt, fingertips tenderly caressing the inside of your thigh.
“Yeah? Can you take me?” In-ho asked you once again, in a quiet tone now, your name uttered slowly through his lips, like a longing, a craving, a religion. His eyes softened completely once they met yours again, his fingertips tapped seductively the sensitive, flushed skin of your thigh, “Talk to me, baby”
In-ho was well aware of the hold he had over you, he had the ultimate power and you were shamelessly crawling all over him, profiting from the fact that you would do whatever he asked. Live, lie, kill....
“Y-yes!” you instantly replied between babbles and sniffles, your hands reaching for him, revealing the deep, raw desperation that was making your body tremble, “Please, In-ho, sir, p-please—”
In-ho's pupils dilated so much that all of his orbs looked pitch-black as he lifted and leaned over you to press a kiss on your lips, “You don't need to convince me, princess. If you want it, you got it”
He swiftly removed his whitish shirt, now ruined and stained with someone else's blood, maybe from one of his guards, it didn't matter, what really mattered was the way his skin glowed under the dim golden light and how his chest broadened with every breath he inhaled, your lips parted as you saw how toned and hardened his abdomen was. He looked... exquisite, glorious and majestic standing before you, ready to devour you.
When he pulled down his pants and boxers, your mouth watered with drool and your eyes widened in wonder at the sight of his size. He was big, bigger than you expected, perhaps. His length was impressive and his girth was just perfect, a bulging vein traced from the base to the engorged, leaking head, and you could see it throbbing.
You felt your mouth watering, starving, but when you reached out your hand to his cock, In-ho backed away from your eager touch, making you look up at him with a pouty face, mumbling words like a spoiled brat.
“I want to—”
“I know, baby, I know,” he cooed in an all too calm tone, leaning over the couch towards you to place a kiss on your sweaty forehead, positioning himself between your legs, one hand holding the length of his cock and the other reassuringly caressing your hip, “you got me right here, can't you feel me?” his hand travelled up your body to delicately stroke a strand of hair off your pretty, blushing face. “Aw, don't be so eager. I think I've spoiled you too much, hm?”
You gulped hard as he lined up his plump tip against your wet entrance, your whole body buzzing as you felt him press against your eager little hole, prepared to take whatever he gave it. But it was unlikely that you could be prepared to take something that big.
In-ho sighed shudderingly as well, just barely easing his head inside you, stretching you so, so good and slowly began to push his way through your warm, spongy walls. You gasped several little whimpers, looking up at the ceiling, as if somehow that would help you stop feeling the stabbing pain that spread inside you with every inch he pushed his length in.
“You have to loosen up for me, angel— hah—” he croaked out between gasps, squeezing his eyes shut for a few long seconds, letting himself be enveloped in the overwhelming hot, tight sensation that was your pussy clenching him, “hm— you have to let me in— fuck, you're so tight—”
In-ho pulled out, hissing between his teeth, lazily gripping his shaft, the tip running up and down your slit, gathering some of your wetness.
At your whining and complaining, he pressed again into your center, staring in awe as your hole struggled to swallow his plump head, stretching out your pussy so much.
He stopped right there, halting his hips, his head hardly inside you, your pussy fluttering and drawing him deeper inside, giving you a few moments to get used to his size. Your hands went to land on his forearms on either side of your hips, squeezing him desperately.
As he tightened his grip on your hips, impeding you from wiggling away from him, In-ho hovered over you, catching your lips with his to muffle your whimpers with his own throat, thrusting achingly slow his hips and sinking inch by inch inside you.
“In-ho” you moaned his name, your nails digging into his skin on his arms, feeling so full, helplessly overwhelmed under him. Everything was him, everywhere around you, “Please—”
Then he kissed your cheekbones, wiping away the tears that escaped your eyes with his lips, bathing your skin with his drool instead, “Don't think, baby, you don't have to think about anything,” he murmured against your mouth, “just take me, yeah? Let me in”
The response he received was blubbering of unintelligible words and whimpers from you, blending in with the squelching sounds of your pussy stretching out for his cock. And that was music to his ears, the most delightful melody.
“Don't worry your pretty little head about a thing, I'll take care of it all” he promised you in a gentle whisper and he is so tender, affectionately caressing the flesh on the side of your upper thigh just before giving it a quick spank, feeling the soft flesh jiggle under the palm of his hand, “Just like that”
He was so tender, giving you two minutes to adjust to his size before ramming the entire remaining length of his cock inside you, the bulbous head of his cock digging it's own way within your velvety walls and reaching so deep inside you that all the air was knocked out of your lungs. All too soon, you were a bawling, moaning mess, so loud and whiny for him.
“There you go, so good, so tight— fuck” In-ho dropped his forehead against yours, closing his eyes, drunkenly babbling words, intoxicated by the feeling of you everywhere, “Just fucking made for me, hm?”
“'Tis all—” you hiccupped, back arching impossibly for him, gazing up at him with adulatory, pleasure-darkened eyes, pounding you into heaven with each luscious thrust of his hips against yours, the bumping sound of flesh slapping against flesh echoing against the walls. Slap, slap, slap. “All for you, In-ho— oh!”
You struggled to even use your brain to conjugate proper phrases, occasionally slurring nonsense words.
Your ass and thighs jiggled with each intense thrust, his flesh slamming against yours, the very noise itself sounding pronographic, sloppy and filthy. You could feel your lower body begin to slide down across the velvety surface of the sofa, your skin wet and slippery from all the mixture of body fluids.
So, he scooped you up in his arms, manhandling you back in your position under him on the couch as easily as if he was swinging a feather around, he even made your head bump against the back of the sofa with a particularly harsh thrust, his cock already recognizing it's own shape carved inside you.
His dark gaze dropped to your stomach, noticing the sway of himself under your soft, sweaty skin, his eyes following the motion of the bulge adoringly.
In-ho pulled one of his hands up from your waist, beginning to slide it across your skin on your lower stomach and he swoon as he heard your blubbering whimpers at the pressure of his palm on your tummy, both of you sensing the press.
“In-ho, G-god, I can't— ngh—” you whimpered, your eyes rolling back and closing them tight, feeling your insides tightening up. “You're so— hah— deep”
“I'm right here” he awed in a quivering, raw adoring whisper, feeling his own cock twitch inside you under the palm of his hand. “Does it feel good, baby?”
You immediately nodded your head, taking in the way his eyes roamed upward across your bulging stomach, past the way your tits jiggled with the power of his own motions.
“I bet it does”
You promptly reopened your eyes and he grunted when the static noise of the radio perched on the crystal table at the couch's side erupted in the sultry room, snapping him out of the mindspace of worshipping your body, just as his lips had parted to suck on one of your tits.
You both swung your heads towards the radio, but In-ho— so ruthless, did not stop his fierce thrusts against your hips, his veiny hands contouring your waist, marking your skin.
“Young-il?” the voice of Gi-hun burst into the room, calling your name more times than In-ho would liked, “Where are you? You're attacking already?”
In-ho just smirked, stretching out and reaching for the small radio over the table, leaving you a whimpering mess as you felt his cock dragging along between your gummy walls.
“Answer him,” he then commanded in a grunt, delivering you a particularly powerful thrust that made you see stars, on his hand he held the radio, right above your face.
“W-what?” you hiccupped, eyes flooding with hot tears, out of pleasure, embarrassment, by the whirlwind of thrills that was shaking your body into submission to his.
In-ho cupped your chin, forcing you to look up at him, offering no truce with his savage thrusts, the plump head of his cock tapping your cervix, grinding into that special spongy spot that drove you closer to your climax.
“Tell him you're sorry,” he bent toward you, swiping his tongue along your cheekbone, mopping up a big tear that had slipped from your pretty eyes, “tell him the Frontman got you.”
With the very last of your remaining strength and control of your brain, you actually succeeded in formulating the words he wanted you to say, just as he pressed the voice transmitter button on the little radio.
“I'm sorry, Gi-hun” you blubbered out in between whimpers, and In-ho flashed a dark smile, dipping his head down to start kissing your neck sloppily, lips sucking at your skin until they left dark imprints, “he—”
“What happened?” Gi-hun asked worriedly from the other side, his voice came out desperate as he called your name, and you almost felt sorry for him, but In-ho's cock twitching inside you knocked all thoughts of heartache from you, making you bite your lower lip to choke back a hoarse moan.
He just felt so good, how could you think of anything other than his dick inside you?
“He got me”
“Who? Where are you? Tell me where you are—” he asked frantically, his voice full of desperation and concern.
Your eyes rolled back as you felt In-ho's mouth latch onto your nipple, sucking and flicking it with his tongue, his unoccupied hand landing on your other jiggling tit, squeezing just right.
“This fucking body....” he hummed more to himself than to you against the skin of your breasts, dampening it with his spit, “So pretty, so tight, all for me... I got you, I got you always”
“The Frontman, he got me— sorry, Gi-hun” you managed to utter, voice weepy, at least that part would be believable to player 456.
Then In-ho smiled darkly and brought the radio closer to his mouth, his warm breath brushing against your nipple, still looking at you as he spoke, his voice becoming gruff and almost unrecognizable, “You don't have to worry about her anymore, Gi-hun.”
“You sick bastard—”
In-ho turned off the radio, throwing it away, shattering a thousand pieces against the ground. And now, all his attention turned back to you.
Gi-hun's desperate words and suffering appeared to do the necessary effect on him to get his cock twitching inside you again, having you sniffling under him.
“Shh... baby, you're doing so good. You're my good girl, my favorite girl— mhm— yes you are,” he cooed, raising his hand and stroking your hair delicately, his other hand squeezed your hip, moving across your skin until he reached your lower stomach, applying a little pressure over your tummy to make you both gasp as you felt the push of his hand, “Now cum with me, yeah? I know you can do it, I know you can, you're my good girl— shit”
In-ho whimpered against your mouth, his fingers creeping down to your crotch in between your sticky bodies, stroking your swollen, throbbing clit just right and hardly ten seconds later, feelinf your walls constrict around him and seconds later, you both began cumming, riding your highs to reach climax.
He was pumping you with all he had to give, filling you with hot and heavy spurts of cum, making you feel so stuffed that the fluid begins to leak out your abused pussy, spilling down between the tangled mess of your legs onto the couch.
A minute long lingered in your post-orgasm ecstasy, slumping your head against the couch, struggling to catch your breath, every limb shuddering still by jolts of electricity racing through every vein, bone, and muscle. You felt yourself floating in the sky and didn't even feel how In-ho had been propped up against you, trying to level his breathing tucked tightly against your neck. It wasn't until he had gently kissed your skin and straightened up, suddenly pulling his softening cock out of you, very slowly and carefully, you snapped back to reality and down to the ground.
The "pop!" filthy sound and the sensation of his cum dripping down your thighs made you blush, feeling his eyes gawking at the way your gaping pussy was struggling to keep all his cum inside, so greedily.
He then scooped you up in his strong arms and carried you to a bedroom, whispering praises and soft words against your ear, all the way until he delicately laid you down on the bed.
Your hand sought his, halting his motion to move away from you, and he smiled softly, noting how you fought against the sudden, enormous exhaustion that had come over you like a flooding wave.
“I have to take care of the problem, my love, it won't take long, okay? When you wake up again I'll be by your side” he murmured, leaning down so he could kiss the knuckles of your hand, fingers affectionately caressing your smooth skin.
“Don't kill them,” your request made him look at you with a hint of disappointment, letting him know you still felt sorry for the players, how could you not? You were just so good, “They don't know what they're doing.”
But the sweet smile on In-ho's lips didn't even tremble, at your request, your demand, “You don't have to worry about them anymore. They're nothing,” then he moved closer, and kissed your forehead, ”And you're everything. You don't have to worry about nothing, right?”
“Right,” you replied, so naturally, even in that dozy, half-asleep state, still, your loyalty and trust was with him, a fond smile curved across your lips as you lay your head back against the fluffy pillows, drifting off to sleep as you felt his fingers tenderly caress the side of your face, “Thank you, In-ho.”
“Everything for my favorite girl” he promised against your skin.

An old feeling (and obsession) | In-oh x Fem!Player!Reader | PT1
Summary: In-oh always thought the ones who ended in the games were nothing but parasites of society. But then he meets you and he starts to feel something he thought he would never feel again.
Warnings: S2 Spoilers - Canon violence - May be OOC - Slight!Obsess In-ho - Player 095 lives!! - Anxiety - Sad!Reader - Soft moments
Notes: Mixed two requests!! Honestly I think these two fits perfectly.
Divided in two parts but you dont need to read this one to read the other -
PT 2
Asks: 1 - 2 -
In-ho was not sure when or how you ended in his mind, passing from being just another face from the games, another piece for the system he had worked for years now. To being somehow important to him.
Maybe it was because you reminded him of himself when he first joined? All lost and confused but also showing a strong determination to survive?
Or maybe it was something even deeper, how you made him feel human and not just "The Front Man" , how you managed to awake feelings on him he thought he had become impossible to feel.
When did it start ?
"Uh, In-ho was it?" A voice that at first did not ring a bell to him. He looked at you a calm look on his face, he saw you offering him your own milk.
"I saw you giving this to player 222 and I dont really like milk so, here. You also saved our team back then" You said offering him your own milk and mentioned how he had moved his leg to make Gi-hun get the last kick.
He took it already thinking on why would you do this. He had a reason at least, a valid one in his opinion. But you ? Why would you give him your own food to him ? Someone who was alright, who was not carring a life.
"Are you sure? This may be the only food we get" He asked truly curious to understand your thinking.
But you just gave him a smile, a honest one. One that he had forgot he could get too inmmersed in his role.
"Im sure, besides its going to be more help to have someone like you well feed than me" You responded then turned around and went back next to Jun-hee who was getting sleepy no wonder after all the stress.
One thing that was clear, you were kind, and by what you said you were not stupid, but you still needed to think on yourself first.
He promised not to drink the milk but later as the lights were turned off he did. Thinking about you, he tried to remember if by luck he had read your file or how you acted on green light red light. But his mind could not find an answer, it would go back to the small exchange from earlier.
And he would find his heart beating just a bit faster.

The next day came, all players were a mix of nervous and excited for the next game. The guards as always made them walk the maze made of stairs and into the main arena.
"What game do you think its going to be?" Your voice filled his hears as you walked besides him. You kind of felt his presence as a protective one. Even if at first he had voted to continue playing. After listening the reason of why he was here on the first place you could not blame him. Your empatic attitude made you just feel bad for him and now you wanted to make up to him. Even if you never disrespected him.
In-ho felt your presence endaring, like you grounded him and took him back to how he used to be and feel.
A fear started to install inside him because of that, he did not want you to change in consequence of the games, like it happened to him.
"This may be mingle" the voice of Jung-Bae cut the train of thoguhts from In-ho.
It was Mingle, he knew it
"Like the game where we formed teams and hugged each other as kids?" You wondered now your attention on Jung-Bae who nodded back at you.
"Well, I believe they wont make us hug each other" The cold voice from Gi-hun came along as the three of you and the rest of the group went up to the circle platform.
"If we need to form teams then we may end separated" You said as the platform started to spin making you lose sense of space and instinctively went to take someones hand.
That just happened to be In-ho.
You blushed and went to quietly let go when he took your hand back giving it a firm grip, he did not look in your direction (something you thanked since your face was on fire) but you did give him a soft shake back.
"10"
The panic went in, your team still needed one more, luckly Dae-ho acted quick and took a player that was frozen in place and screamed at the rest to run to one of the doors.
Then all of you ran towards one door opening it and going inside, between the chaos In-ho never let go of your hand only when the door lock was secured he let it go giving you a look then looking away.
His heart was beating fast. He had made these games, even played before and yet he was feeling worry over you. Why? You were not supposed to be special. But when he felt your hand and looked to see your confused and scared face something in his heart hurt, he could not leave you like that.
He could not be cruel with you.
The next rounds followed each one making you more stressed specially when you almost lose Young-mi during the last round.
"Are you alright?" You asked her, voice full of worry.
She just nodded being a bit pale "Thank you, you pushed that other aside, if it wasnt for you..."
"Dont mention it" not only because thinking that you caused the death of someone else was a brutal hit for your moral, but because the fear you felt for her in these last moments made you want to vomit thanks to how nervous and desesperated you were.
You did not ever think about the other player when you went for her.
You walked slowly like a zombie till you felt a shadow over you, it was In-ho.
"Are you alright?" He asked, you two got separated last round and he (even if he wont tell you) was worried you would be one of the numbers mention as eliminated.
"Im fine, last round was a lot" You responded giving him a tired smile getting on the platform again.
He followed not beliving you but not saying anything for a few seconds.
"Stay besides me, next round may be the last one" He spooke to you not leaving room for another option.
"What makes you say that?" You wondered, too lost to even try and reason how many rounds were left or how many you already played. The only thing you could see was the blood on the ground.
"We are 126 standing and there is only 50 cabins, if they want to put pressure on us by losing others then this is the right moment" He explained making you purse your eyelash at that.
"Then how many would-"
"Two, two for each door" He was quick to answer. He looked at you directly to your eyes. It seemed that the spin stopped for him, he was lost in your eyes for a second getting suck by them. His heart felt heavy and he felt that need again, the need of protecting you.
"Stay by my side for the next round" He said again extending his hand to you "Take my hand and dont let go, I doubt the others wont get desesperated and will end palying dirty"
Before you reached his hand you went towards Gi-hun and Jung-Bae who were also talking about what number would be said next.
"Two" you cut them off getting a look from them "Just listen, its going to be two, I cant explain but I need to ask you two for something. One of you please take Young-mi with you, please im begging" You asked them almost in tears not having time to process last round and your actions.
Gi-hun the one from the pair who had already played could imagine what could have happened and he nodded giving your shoulder a firm grip. "We wont leave her" He promised you.
You thanked them again and went back besides In-ho who this time took your hand in his without saying or asking anything.
"2"
The moment the voice announced the number In-ho ran with you, his hand holding yours in iron fist.
He would be dammed if he lost you among the crowd.
Most rooms were getting occupied, In-ho searched till he saw one.
"There, the yellow door" He screamed at you pushing you first into the room then just as a player was going in getting them out of the way.
However things did not end once inside.
In-ho looked over his shoulder as he tried to held the door and prevent anyone from entering.
"Shit" He cursed. He saw you froze in place looking at other player who was just as shocked as you.
"W-we got here first" The player sutter at you who only watched him, the sound of your heart filling your ears and the screams from outside.
"Hold the door" In-ho ordered in a very comanding voice pushing you and going towards the player, he reduced him starting to choke him. "Close your eyes" He said to you once he noticed you were looking over your shoulder at him.
No. He could not let you see him like this.
You did as told and closed your eyes forcing yourself to block what was happening around you.
I wanna go home, fuck I wanna get out of here.
The sound of a crack and then the alarm indicating time was off got you out of your mind. You let yourself fall against the wall near the door trying not to look over the dead body in the room.
"Hey, hey (Y/N) look at me" In-ho implored trying to bring you back.
"I- I wanna go home In-ho" You told him now crying, whatever bravery you had was crushed right there.
Much like his own heart.
He pulled you against him in a hug, letting you cry on his chest, he felt you shaking and hugged you thighter caressing your hair.
There was no way he would leave you here after this.
"Shh, shh it passed. We are ok, just breath now" He tried to calm you down
"What if the others-"
"Im positive they made it" He said even if he could not really tell you that. "Focus on yourself now, focus in my voice alright? You are ok, you are safe"
"Dont let me go please" You pleaded him holding his track-suit with force.
"Never"
And he intendeed to do that.
~○~○~○~○~○~○~○
After the tie of the voting he could see you were one step of breaking down. He could not take on how empy your eyes looked now, how you would shake from time to time, probably from the recent events.
He also took notice on how you havent touch your food at all.
Slowly he went towards you taking a seat besides you, not too close or too far.
"You need to eat" He started but got a shake from you.
"I feel like I will throw up anything if I try to eat now"
"Even if thats the case, give it a try you will need the streght"
"Why?" You asked finally looking at him "Why did we tie? Why does they want to keep playing after all of this?"
In-ho went quiet at your question, he could not give you an answer. Honestly maybe there was no answer to it, greed ? malice ? desesperation ? Anything could be the reason.
"I dont have a answer for that" He finally talked seeing how your face fall even more.
"But I can assure you something" He added "Look at me" He ordered softly and you did as told "I will assure your safety" He promised
You gave him one smile, one that did not reach your eyes.
"You cant assure that...but thanks. Thanks for protecting me in the last game and for what happened during last round..."
"You dont have to remember that" He said afraid you were going to see him different now
"No. Thank you" You cut him, looking at his face seeing the small suprise he got. "I know I should feel bad and god I do feel bad but, but you did it so we both could survive, thank you. I want you to know I dont see you any different from how I saw you before"
He did not respond to you, did not react at all. His mind was working like crazy, thinking how he could get you out.
How was he going to keep playing these games and using Gi-hun. How, when his heart now beating because of you. Because of how you saw him, how your eyes kept following him and how you expressed your thoughts.
Gradually he got closer to you, he moved in slow motion to not scare you, till he could pass his arm around your shoulders and pull you against his side. The two of you stayed there in silence for a few minutes each with their own thoughts, but In-ho had a strong objective now.
Protect you till the end.

Various Squid Game Characters x injured gn!reader
(Includes Gi-hun, In-ho/Young-il, Thanos, and Dae-ho)
!warnings: canon-typical violence, use of Y/N, cursing, in Dae-ho's specifically it is kinda implied that reader was using the women's bathroom but it doesn't say anything about the actual gender of the reader
a/n: this is most likely noncompliant to the canon, but it's fine. i might do another part with different characters later, but for now, i wanted to get this out asap. hope you enjoy!
Gi-hun:
- Winners don't get hurt, right? That's what you thought, but here you were trudging back to the dorms with a gunshot wound. A bullet must have ricocheted off the pavement because something grazed your side.
- You were one of the last ones to complete your game of marbles, so you walked back to the dorm alone.
- When you entered the room, he could tell there was something wrong, but he assumed it was shock from the cutthroat nature of the game. He'd been through it before, and he was still shaken to his core.
- You walked over to the area your group had claimed for themselves. You sat on the ground, arms wrapped around yourself. It looked like you were hugging yourself, a common self-soothing practice, but it was really just a way to put pressure on the wound covertly.
- He noticed how quiet you were being even after the remaining members had started chatting.
- "Y/N, I'm glad you made it out of there." He said. He watched your reaction closely.
- You nodded, murmuring a soft "Thanks, you too."
- He continued to watch you, concern growing with each passing moment. You started to grow pale as you sat there. Your breathing was labored despite your attempt to hide it.
- "Hey, are you okay?" He asked. It was a stupid question, and he knew it. How could you be okay here? Especially after a game like marbles.
- He didn't expect you to shake your head. You looked like you were going to cry. He moved closer to you, blocking the view of the others in an attempt to provide some level of privacy.
- "What's wrong?" You tried to speak but you couldn't get the words out. "Hey, what happened?" He asked. He lowered his voice, but you could hear his tone become more frantic.
- You wordlessly pulled your hand away from your wound, showing him the crimson staining it and your clothes.
- You noticed his gaze become distant. He looked at you and saw Sae-byeok, and you knew exactly what was happening. He hadn't told you about her specifically, but he had mentioned a close friend being injured. You hated bringing back those memories for him.
- You started crying, sputtering out a string of apologies. "I'm sorry. S-sorry. I didn't mean to. I didn't-"
- That made him snap back to reality. He cut you off. "No, no, it's not your fault. You're gonna be okay." He said quickly. He helped you lay back so he could get a better look at it.
- "Guys, we need some help over here." He said, keeping his voice low. It got their attention regardless.
- "Can one of you get me one of the bedsheets?" Gi-hun asked, to which Jung-bae rushed to get. Jun-hee passed over an unopened water bottle. "Here! I didn't drink it with lunch so I could save it for later." She said.
- Dae-ho took the request for help in a different way. "Hello?! Can we get a doctor in here!? Someone's-"
- "Dae-ho, stop it!" He snapped. The man's face changed to a look of shock. "They won't come. Trust me." He said softer. Dae-ho muttered a soft, "Sorry."
- You continued to cry, trying to keep yourself quiet. "I'm gonna need to pull this up, okay?" he asked, fingers grabbing the fabric of your shirt. You nodded, grimacing as he peeled the fabric off the wound.
"Y/N.... what happened?" He asked. Jung-bae and Jun-hee were folding the bedsheet to make it manageable to wrap around you.
- "I-I think a bullet ricocheted or something. I don't know. I'm sorry." You stammered, flinching at the cold feeling of the water as he poured some onto it. It wasn't nearly as bad as he thought, but it certainly wasn't pleasant.
- He bandaged you up the best he could with the supplies on hand. Once he was done, you sat up with a wince. "Careful." He warned, but you could hear his playful tone returning to him.
- You leaned into him, head resting on his shoulder. "Thank you. All of you." You you said softly, looking over to your other allies. Gi-hun smiled softly. "Get some rest, okay? I'll keep watch." He said, pressing a soft kiss to the top of your head.
- Be prepared to hardly leave his sight for the rest of the games. He swears to protect you no matter what. Even when more selfish players would suggest he leave you behind. And they did suggest it, resulting in him lashing out at them. That was clearly a sore spot, as their words reminded him of Sang-woo.
- That night, he had a nightmare about the last night in his first game. The events played out as normal, but with you in the place of Sae-byeok. It was harrowing, to say the least. He may have failed her, but he will do anything to make sure you made it out of here.
- He woke up with a start, breathing faster than usual. You were in the bed pushed closer to his. You turned toward him slowly. "What's going on?" You asked in a hushed whisper.
- "It's nothing, go back to sleep." He responded. You knew better, but you didn't press him any further. However, you did carefully roll toward him, resting your head on his chest.
- He was going to scold you for moving too much, but you quickly returned to sleep. He just smiled like a lovesick fool and got some much-needed sleep.
In-ho/Young-il
(calling him young-il for clarity's sake)
- It all happened very quickly. Mingle was the most chaotic game yet. After the first two rounds, you quickly grew overwhelmed. The spinning platform didn't make the situation any better. You were getting a bit disoriented, but you were able to mask it fairly well.
- When the voice called out six, your group devised your plan to split up. When you had your plan, you ran to follow Young-il toward a room. As you stepped off the platform, your ankle twisted in a way it definitely wasn't supposed to.
- You fell to the ground, yelling out an expletive as your body hit the ground. Young-il turned around instantly, and upon seeing you, he told the group to run ahead and claim a room.
- He moved closer to you. "What happened?" He asked, his voice loud to cut through the chaos. He offered you a hand to help you up.
- You took his hand, pulling yourself up. You groaned upon bearing weight on your foot. "Twisted my ankle." You said through gritted teeth.
- He wrapped an arm around you, helping to support your weight. "I know it hurts but we have to move." He said before beginning to move. You tried to keep up as much as you could.
- You both barely made it into the door before it slammed shut. You leaned against the wall, lifting your foot up to give it a break. "Thanks." You said breathlessly.
- You limped back over to the platform. You didn't want to make it obvious that you were hurt in fear that they would leave you behind. It's survival of the fittest, after all.
- Young-il turned to face you when he got on top of the platform. He reached for your hand, interlocking your fingers. "Stay with me, okay?" He said softly, but you could tell it was more of an order than a request. You nodded.
- When the merry-go-round stopped and the number was announced, his arm wrapped around you to support you again. It was two, so it was just you and him you needed to worry about. You were trying your best to keep up with him. This was high stakes, as there definitely weren't enough rooms in this round.
- Around halfway to the room, you stumbled to the floor. He turned to help you up, but you insisted, "Go claim a room, I'll get there." You said. He was hesitant to leave you, but he knew your idea was the best odds for survival.
- You forced yourself up to a standing position. You took a deep breath and started limping as fast as you could.
- Some other player reached Young-il's room before you did. He snuck his way into the room. "Hurry up and shut the door man!" He shouted.
- Young-il's blood boiled. "Get the fuck out of here before I make you get out." He spat, turning to face the man.
- The man stood his ground. "They are just gonna hold you back, man. They're deadweight. You're better off with-" He was cut off by Young-il grabbing him roughly.
- You made it to the door, getting there with a few seconds to spare. You looked at Young-il. "Throw him out, quickly." You said.
- Young-il made his choice. This man didn't deserve the chance to live. He wrapped an arm around the man's throat, cutting off his airway. "Shut the door." He said, clearly straining.
- Your eyes widened, but you listened. You slammed the door shut. Soon after, you heard a sickening pop, and the player went limp. You didn't say a word. "Player 332, eliminated."
- You wouldn't say the action scared you. You wanted him to be thrown out, which would have resulted the same way. But the personal way that Young-il took the man's life without hesitation was... concerning.
- No matter what just happened, he kept you alive. Even if it was gruesome, it was the reason you are still alive. You took a deep breath, reveling in the fact that the game was over. He pulled you into a hug, let out a relieved sigh.
- "Thank you." You murmured softly. You pulled away when the doors unlocked and swung open. You limped toward the door, frantically searching the crowd for your allies. Young-il stood behind you, doing the same.
- When you started to move toward the exit, he offered you his arm again. You shook your head. You wanted to try to walk on your own, so you only took hold of his arm for balance when you needed it.
- You were scared of looking weak to the others. You already had one player try to get rid of you. You weren't deadweight. You tried to mask any signs that you were in pain, and that worked to hide the injury from most players.
- But Young-il knew what was going through your head, and he wanted to make sure you felt comfortable. When they received dinner with the forks, he started to use the fork as a means to get leverage to tear up the sheet.
- You were puzzled with what he was doing until he brought it over to you. "Can I wrap that up for you? Might give you a bit of stability." He said.
- You were shocked at his thoughtfulness. You really thought you weren't going to get sympathy. You nodded, stretching out your leg. The makeshift ace bandage worked well enough.
- He protected you both in the game and outside of it when he resumed his role as the Front Man. You found extras of your favorites in the tins your dinner came in. Your team was paired with the weakest group in Tug of War, so you had to do the least amount of work for the victory.
- Despite the fact you thought he was dead, he was still in your corner.
Thanos/Su-bong:
- Being an ally with the most chaotic and violent player in the games should have granted you a high level of protection, but being romantically involved with him should make you virtually untouchable. Keyword being "should."
- You ended up cornered in the hall on the return to the dorms from the bathroom. You found yourself pinned to the wall by your throat by another O player.
- "You finally don't have that purple-headed asshole to protect you, huh?" He spat, smirking in your face.
- You tried to struggle against him, leading him to tighten your grip on your throat. "Nuh-uh. You aren't getting away from me until I'm done with you." He said.
- You couldn't really get a sound out to alert anyone, and even if you could, you were probably out of earshot of the players in the dorms.
- The way Thanos found out was overhearing a conversation from two other players. "Where's 438?" One asked. The other snickered. "Taking care of Thanos's bitch." He said with a sick grin.
- Thanos jumped up, scaring Min-su with his sudden movement. "The fuck did you say?" He yelled, moving toward the pair. They realized they messed up and ran off. Thanos wanted to go after them, but reason told him to let them go. For now.
- He rushed over to the hallway, Nam-gyu followed with a roll of his eyes, and Min-su looked around before timidly walking toward the hallway, hovering in the doorway.
- In a last-ditch effort to free yourself, you let your knees give out and tried to duck out of his grasp. It allowed you to take a gasp for air, but you couldn't get away. He slammed you back into the wall, and pain radiated through your skull.
- You grabbed his wrist and tried to dig your nails into his skin. He swung his other hand to strike you in the face. You cried out from this, a noise that made Thanos move even faster.
- "Hey asshole, what the fuck are you doing?" He yelled, running up to him and shoving him away from you. You scurried back toward Nam-gyu.
- Thanos saw red. You almost couldn't watch as he kicked the player repeatedly in the stomach. "You motherfucker." He snarled.
- After a few moments, it became harder for you to watch. Nam-gyu interrupted him first. "Thanos, leave it." He urged. He didn't acknowledge him. You heard the man sputter and spit up blood. "Su-bong, please." You pleaded, voice somewhat raspy from the pain in your throat.
- He stopped for a moment, taking a deep breath before giving him one more kick and turning to leave. He instantly grabbed your hand as you walked back to the dorms.
- Before you entered the dorm, he stopped in the hallway and pulled you into a hug. He didn't want any other player to recognize that vulnerability. You felt him take a shuddering breath. "It's okay, I'm okay." You said softly.
- When you four got settled in the dorm, Thanos was noticeably quieter than usual. You caught him staring at you multiple times, likely watching the bruise form on your face and neck.
- After around an hour, he suddenly remembered the other guys who knew about your attack. He suddenly tensed up, taking a deep breath before going to stand up. You grabbed his hand. "Don't. Please."
- He sighed before pouting. You rolled your eyes at him. "Fine." He said, dragging out the word. You leaned over and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. He grinned.
- That night, it was hard for him to sleep. He found himself trying to listen for every noise to assess for any threats. Eventually, he was tired enough that he dragged himself out of his bed and moved to yours.
- He climbed into your bed. You woke up rather quickly, turning toward him. He had scared you slightly, but you didn't mention it. "What's wrong?" You murmured quietly, still half asleep.
- "Couldn't sleep." He replied. He wrapped his arms around you. It was soothing to be sure you were safe. You fell back to sleep soon after, and he followed suit.
- Waking up next to each other felt amazing. You just wished that it was under different circumstances, seeing as you awoke to the music signaling the next game would begin.
Dae-ho:
- You had been in the bathrooms when the brawl began. When you heard the commotion, you wanted to run out to the others. Safety in numbers, right?
- You got to the doorway of the bathroom exit, taking a few steps out before you were noticed by a player. An O. He seemed uninterested until his eyes flickered toward the red badge on your jacket.
- He grew a sick grin. "Looks like I'm gonna take out some trash." He said, brandishing the fork he had from dinner.
- He moved to stab toward your face, and you put your arms up to shield from the blow. You cried out as it embedded in your flesh. You kicked his kneecap, causing him to let go of the fork. He stumbled onto his knees. Without hesitation, you kicked him in the balls, making him scream out.
- You rushed into the other, luckily empty, bathroom. You locked yourself in one of the far stalls, sitting up on the tank of the toilet so your feet wouldn't be seen. You started unspooling toilet paper off the roll and packing it around the fork, which was still in your skin. You didn't think you would be able to take it out yourself without fainting.
- When Dae-ho heard a player run out from the hall yelling about an attack, he looked around and quickly realized that you weren't in the dorms. "Guys, Y/N is back there." He said frantically.
- He went to rush there, but he stopped when Young-il spoke. "I wouldn't go after them. Who knows what you'll be walking into?" He warned.
- Dae-ho glared over at him. "So I'll just leave them back there on their own? Fuck that." He shot back. He was happy to see Jung-bae stand up. "Marines have to have each other's backs, right? I'm with you." He said.
- The two rushed down the hall, dodging someone who was fleeing from the fight covered in someone's blood. When they got to the bathrooms, Dae-ho tried his best not to look in. He didn't want to be reminded of the past he tried to bury.
- Jung-bae scanned the room. "I don't think they're in there." He said. Dae-ho abandoned any care for societal norms and swung open the women's bathroom, since it seemed that only the men's bathroom broke out into a brawl.
- "Y/N?" He called out, starting to walk toward the stalls. The older man stayed by the door to keep it closed. The last thing they needed was those O bastards realizing 3 Xs cornered themselves in the bathroom.
- "Dae-ho?" You responded. You didn't move from your spot, scared it was some kind of trick. You hadn't been able to calm down since locking yourself in. You were terrified that man would come for revenge.
- He let out a sigh of relief. "Yeah, it's me. Where are you?" He asked. You got off of your seat. Your uninjured arm trembled as you tried to unlock the door, eventually managing the feat.
- He rushed over after the door swung open. He tried not to look overly shocked by the sight he saw. Your wound didn't seem to be bleeding that badly, but it was enough blood to make him somewhat queasy. But there was also an anger boiling up inside of him.
- "I-I didn't know what to do. So I... I didn't t-touch it. I couldn't." You spoke frantically, stumbling over your words.
- His eyes softened upon seeing the state you were in. "Hey. It's gonna be fine. You're safe now. I'm gonna help you, okay?" He said, trying to console you.
- He started to get a wad of the paper and held in on the side of the fork. "This is probably going to hurt, but I need to do this." He warned. You nodded, squeezing your eyes shut so you didn't need to see it.
- He tried to remove it as gently as he could. You whimpered. "I know, I know, I'm sorry." He murmured. When it was out, he pressed the paper on the wound, holding it by wrapping his hand around your forearm.
- After keeping the pressure for a few moments, he looked you, using his free hand to wipe the tear from your face. "Sir, can you look to see if the brawl has ended?" He called out. You heard the door open, and it was significantly quieter out there. "I think the coast is clear." The older man called back.
- Dae-ho let out a relieved sigh. "Can you hold this?" He asked. You nodded slightly, replacing his hand with your own. You stood up shakily, still bit panicky as the adrenaline started to wear off. When you entered the hallway, he wrapped an arm around your shoulders.
- When you rejoined your group, most were relieved to see you, but Young-il had a look that you couldn't place. He was almost bitter that Dae-ho hadn't listened to him. Neither of you paid that much attention to it.
- You sat down with your back against the wall. He went to one of the empty beds and pulled the pillowcase off the pillow. He came back and sat down next to you. He managed to wrap the fabric around the wound. It was a bit awkward, but it worked to cover the wound and maintain some pressure.
- He grinned once he tucked the edge into itself and it stayed put. "Good as new." He said jokingly.
- You smiled and laughed, a sound that really put him at ease. "I wouldn't go that far." You said. You paused for a moment before looking up at him. "Thank you for coming back for me." You said sincerely.
- He looked jokingly offended. "As if I would just leave you back there, give me a little credit." He said, voice exuding his boyish charm.
- You decided to play into this. You gave an exaggerated sigh before saying, "My hero!" Like someone in distress would say to the knight who saved them. You leaned up to give him a kiss on the cheek. He felt his face heat up, and you giggled before leaning your head on his shoulder.
- He couldn't get the stupid smile off his face. He was down bad. He made a silent vow to himself to make sure the two of you got out of here. He didn't care if the others would call him naive. There wasn't a thing he wouldn't do for you.

♡˗ˏ✎*ೃ˚ : I AM NOT GOING ANYWHERE : :;
╰┈➤ ❝ [PAIRING] ❞ Seong Gi-hun x F!Reader
・❥・GENRE: Smut & Fluff
˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆FANDOM: Squid Game
ੈ✩‧₊˚ WARNINGS: Smut, 18+, piv, oral (F receiving), soft smut, very short mention of choking, Gi-hun being an absolute sweetie
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥SUMMARY: After surviving a number of games already, you are tired and want to go home which you know you can’t, but luckily Gi-hun is there to take care of you .
YOU LET OUT A loud sigh for probably the 100th time that evening as you roll onto your other side, trying to get comfortable in your bunk bed.
“Why can’t I just fall asleep?” You murmur, slowly sitting up right while looking around the room.
Your eyes fall on Young-il, Dae-ho, Jung-bae and Jun-hee who are all soundlessly asleep. Then your eyes fall on Gi-hun who is guarding your self made bunker.
Slowly and carefully, you slip out of bed and head for Gi-hun, sitting down next to him without saying anything.
Gi-hun turns his head to look at you and he can’t help but feel bad when he sees the tiredness on your face. Why is she awake? She should be sleeping.
As if you heard Gi-hun’s thoughts, you turn to face him. “I can’t sleep.” Gi-hun gives you a slight nod before going back to staring ahead of him.
“I’m sorry that I failed to get you out of here.” His voice breaks a little and you notice it immediately. “Don’t. You did your best. If these pigs want to stay to earn their money, let them. Sooner or later they will realize how stupid it was to vote for continuing the games. Half of them won’t even make it until the end.” You scoff at the last part which makes Gi-hun look at you again.
You had met Gi-hun on the first day of being in this hell hole. He had helped you cross the finish line during Red light, Green light. And since that moment you stuck by him, forever grateful that he saved you just seconds before the timer ran out.
When he told everyone that he had played these games before, you were shocked. Why would anyone ever return to here out of free will? Gi-hun explained everything to you. About how he joined the games to pay all of his debts. He told you about the games he played and about the people he lost during them. He also told you how his childhood friend ended his life so Gi-hun could live and get the money. In the end Gi-hun had told you that he came back for a reason. He wanted to end these horrific games, even if it meant his death.
So you joined his team. Not only because you stood behind Gi-hun’s way of thinking, but also to protect him. And he did the same for you.
Gi-hun had grown quite fond of you. He had this urge to protect you and help you with everything he could. He was always worried about you during the games. Especially during Mingle. During one of the first rounds, he lost sight of you and when he heard the ringing of the gunshots from the small room he was in, he couldn’t help but look if one of the fallen bodies were yours. Luckily that was not the case.
The moment the doors opened, you sprinted towards Gi-hun. “you’re alive!” Gi-hun beamed as he pulled you into a tight embrace. “I’m sorry.” You mumbled against his chest.
“Shh don’t apologize, it’s okay. I’m just glad that you’re alive.” Gi-hun reassured you. From that moment on Gi-hun did not once let go of you during remaining time of the game.
“I promise I will get you out of here.”
You look up from your feet to see Gi-hun staring at you. You give him a weak smile before laying your head on his shoulder.
“Please don’t die Gi-hun.” You say weakly. “I’m not planning to.” Gi-hun smiles softly.
“Ahem.”
Both you and Gi-hun turn around to see Young-il standing there. “You two should head to bed. It’s my time to guard anyway.” He says while scratching the back of his neck.
Gi-hun nods and gets back on his feet. He holds out his hand for you to take it, which you do and he helps you back on your feet as well.
“Good night you two.” You hear Young-il say as you head towards your bed, still holding Gi-hun’s hand.
“Gi-hun?” you say softly. “Yes?” He questions while looking at you.
“Could you…could you sleep next to me tonight. I really don’t want to be alone.”
Gi-hun’s heart practically melts upon hearing your words so he nods his head with a kind smile on his face.
He watches how you get ‘comfortable’ in your bunkbed before he joins you. “Are you sure this is okay?” Gi-hun asks as he awkwardly tries not to touch you, afraid he might cross your boundaries.
“It’s okay.” You reassure him while looking at him. Gi-hun’s breathing hitches in his throat as he looks at you. You are so beautiful and kind. You don’t belong here.
“What are you thinking about?” You wonder. Gi-hun just blinks at you. “May I kiss you?” He suddenly asks.
You are a bit taken aback by his question but you nod nonetheless. It’s not like you haven’t thought about it yourself.
“Yes you may.” You smile as both you and Gi-Hun inches closer to each other.
Gi-hun gently places his hand on your cheek before colliding his lips with yours. It’s a passionate kiss, both wanting to feel the other as close as possible.
You immediately kiss back as your hands make their way to Gi-hun’s hair. A small moan slips past his lips as you gently tug on his locks.
He breathes your name and it sounds so beautiful coming from his lips.
“Gi-hun…” You look into his eyes and you see that they are filled with love and sadness, and maybe even anger. But still he kisses you with the upmost gentleness, afraid he might hurt you accidentally.
“I need you.” You whisper and it doesn’t take long for Gi-hun to be on top of you. He leans on his arms which are placed on either side of your face as he looks down at you.
“You are so pretty Gi-hun.” You smile while softly caressing his cheek. Gi-hun can only smile at your words until he feels your hand in his pants.
“A-are you sure?” He asks quickly. “Only if you are. I want you to be comfortable too.” You explain him while placing a kiss to his cheek.
“I’m comfortable.” Gi-hun breathes carefully. “Then i am too.” You slip your hand into Gi-hun’s boxers and carefully wrap your finger’s around his cock.
“Oh fuck…” Gi-hun moans softly while hiding his face in your neck. You begin to pump your hand up and down his cock while Gi-hun is placing wet kisses along your jawline.
“It feels so good.” He says before kissing you again. “Good.” You mumble against his lips with a smile.
You feel Gi-hun grinding against your hand as a way to tell you he needs more.
You want to pull his pants down but he stops you. “Not yet.” You watch with confusion as Gi-hun taps your hips as a way to tell you to lift them up.
The moment you do, Gi-hun slides your sweatpants down and settles between your legs. You watch how he places soft kisses along the insides of your thighs before pressing a kiss to your clit.
“May I?”
“Yes please.” You breathe. Gi-hun smiles before pulling your panties to the side. He carefully spreads your lips and dives in.
“O-oh god!” You moan, immediately putting your hand over your mouth as you feel Gi-hun’s tongue between your folds.
Gi-hun stares up at you with his big puppy eyes while licks at your clit. You try your best to stay still but when you feel two of his fingers entering your pussy, you just can’t.
“Fuck Gi-hun!” You whisper as you clamp your hand down in his hair.
“You taste so good sweetheart. I just can’t get enough of it.” Gi-hun smiles, his face covered in your juices as he keeps licking your pussy.
“Gi-hun I can’t! I’m close.” You moan while bucking your hips. “Then let go for me love.” He murmurs with a lazy grin, still focused on your pussy.
You are immediately sent over the edge as you cover Gi-hun’s face in your juices. You can feel Gi-hun licking up every drop until his face is on your eye level again.
“How did that feel love?” he asks while pushing a strand of hair behind your ear. “Amazing.” You breathe with a slight chuckle.
“Is it now my turn to make you feel good?” You ask in a seductive tone. Gi-hun clears his throat as he nods, suddenly feeling shy.
“Come on now, don’t be shy baby.” You place a gentle kiss on his lips as you push him off of you, telling him to lay down on his back for you.
Once Gi-hun is settled, you straddle his lap, both hissing when his cock makes contact with your pussy.
“Is this okay?” You ask Gi-hun while playing with his hair. “Y-yes.” He stammers. “Relax baby.” You chuckle as you kiss his cheek.
Gi-hun watches how you grab his cock and align it with your pussy before slowly sliding down, making both you and Gi-hun moan as he grips the sheets in his fists.
“You feel amazing sweetheart.” Gi-hun whimpers, placing both of his hands on your hips, slowly guiding you up and down his cock.
“I can say the same about you.” You moan while steadying yourself with placing one hand on his chest.
Gi-hun watches how you bounce on his cock, trying his best not to make too much noise, but boy is it hard.
Every time you bounce on his cock he wants to scream out, letting everyone know how good you make him feel, but he knows he can’t, so he bites his lip instead.
“You’re so good to me Gi-hun.” You moan while leaning forward so you can kiss his neck.
“Oh baby…” He groans while digging his fingers into your sides. “Stay like this okay.” He whispers in you ear before starting to thrust up into you.
Your eyes roll to the back of your head as you bite down onto Gi-hun’s shoulder to keep you from making any noise.
“Oh fuck you feel so good baby. So tight and warm, i can stay like this forever.” Gi-hun moans as his thrusts get harder and deeper.
“Gi-hun…” You whimper. “What is it love?” He asks immediately. “Kiss me.” You demand with a slight moan.
“Yes ma’am.” Gi-hun smiles before pulling you into a kiss. You both moan against each other’s mouth while you meet Gi-hun’s thrusts with your own.
“I’m close sweetheart.” Gi-hun breathes while looking at you. “M-me too.” You say while unconsciously wrapping your hand around his throat.
Gi-hun’s eyes widen at the feeling and he can’t help but go even harder now.
“Gi-hun i’m s-so close!” You whisper in his ear while tightening your hold on his throat.
“Come for me baby.” Gi-hun groans. “Be a good girl.” At hearing those words slip from Gi-hun’s lips, you can’t hold it in anymore.
Gi-hun is quick to cover your mouth with his hand as you come onto his cock, soaking it with your juices.
“Fuck that’s it.” Moans Gi-hun before spilling inside of you. You let out a soft whimper as you feel him fill you up with his cum.
“Gi-hun….” you sigh as you collapse on top of him. Suddenly you become aware of your hand being wrapped around his throat so you immediately let go.
“Oh my god i am so sorry.” You quickly apologize, but Gi-hun is quick to shut you up with a kiss.
“Don’t. I liked it.” He smiles. “Really?” You ask surprised. Gi-hun immediately nods. “You should definitely do it more often.”
You and Gi-hun stare at each other before bursting into a fit of laughter.
“Shh!” You laugh as you cover Gi-hun’s mouth with your hand while he does the same with you.
It’s suddenly very quiet as both you and Gi-hun calm down from your highs.
“Thank you.” You suddenly say. “For what?” Gi-hun asks as he pulls you into his chest.
“For being there for me.”
Gi-hun can’t help but smile as he gently ruffles your hair. He places a soft kiss on the top of your head before closing his eyes.
“You don’t have to thank me sweetheart. Now get some sleep, you deserve it.”
“Will you stay here with me?” You ask as you look up at him. Gi-hun smiles, his eyes still closed.
“Of course love, i am not going anywhere.”
I really hope everyone liked how it turned out! It was so much fun to write for Gi-hun. He is quite literally underated in his own show😭
If any of you have any requests about Gi-hun or In-ho, feel free to drop them in my inbox!

<<previous part
456-034
You rolled the card between your fingers, the glossy surface reflecting the numbers through the poorly lit bar where you were currently seated. The weight of the card—the one that would change everything—lay heavy in your hand. You brought the glass up to your lips, taking in a large swig of alcohol and downing it all in one gulp. Your mind drifted back to the game, the endless rounds of ddakji that stretched on far longer than either of you had expected. Your mind couldn't stop drifting back to the man who gave you the card, the salesman. His arrogance in approaching you and the confidence in his tone believing he would win, made beating him feel that much sweeter. Not to mention, you couldn't get out of your head the promise he had made—the games.
“The prize involves a large sum of money.” Those were his words. “A chance to change everything.”
You sighed, rubbing a hand down your face in frustration as the replay of his words refused to cease. You weren't stupid. No organization on earth would be willing to offer large amounts of money to those in debt without wanting something in return.
What the hell would I be getting into?
You could feel it in the way the businessman described the games, the hesitation beneath his perfect, pre-rehearsed words. The games were possibly dangerous, deadly even.
Your thoughts continued to float back to the man, unable to let go the image of his defeat. He hadn't expected it, you had. You remembered the way his eyes had shifted—just a flicker—but it had been enough to feel the rush of power that coursed through you. The kind that surged up your spine as you watched him stumble, the look of frustration barely contained under his sharp features. It brought a twisted smile to your face, a sort of satisfaction that you hadn't felt in a very long time.
You scoffed at yourself, you can’t let a single interaction with a person who matched your competitive energy let you fall back into that dangerous train of thinking. It was that sort of attitude that led you to your financial problem in the first place.
Disappointment. Deceit. Debt.
You'd already dodged enough bullets, danced with enough sharks to know the results of your reckless actions. Yet, no matter how hard you tried to fight it, your need to play had always won over any rational reasoning. Something about what the man had offered felt different, a new kind of gamble. Bigger stakes, bigger rewards. You could feel the possibilities swirling in your mind.
As you stood from your spot, pocketing the card, everything felt fuzzy—like you were floating, drifting on the edge of a decision, unsure if you should let go or pull yourself back to reality. You weren’t such a lightweight but right now it seems as if you’ve passed your limit. You try to regain your balance as you stumble towards the exit, the loud music and flashing lights disorienting as you bump into multiple people along the way.
Once you reach the outside, the fresh air makes you feel like you’ve rediscovered how to breathe. You inhale deeply, doing your best to walk along the dimly lit streets of Seoul, the sidewalks inhabited by those enjoying the city's nightlife. You call for a cab and once you’ve given the address to the driver, you sit back against the seat and take in the views drifting by. The city's neon lights blurred into streaks against the darkness, drowning everything around you in an almost dreamlike haze.
If I were to join the games….
The thought made your pulse quicken, in anticipation or fear you couldn’t tell, both emotions had melted into a single feeling long ago. The rules were simple. Win, and you could start over, away from the poverty and death threats that have taken over your daily routine. No matter how far you ran, your creditors always found you. Last time it was money, next week they would take your eyes. You knew that you would no longer be able to survive on your own, not anymore.
The thought made you chuckle…survival. What was survival if not just a slow death with a different name? A quieter, more painful death.
Finally arriving at your apartment, you paid the driver with the bit of cash you still had on you and walked up the steps of the building. Once you reached the front door, you stood motionless, feeling the outline of the card through your pocket, the weight of the decision pressing down on your chest. Out here, as much as you didn’t want to admit it, you didn’t stand a chance. But now, you were given a choice. A choice to win.
The corners of your mouth twitched as the decision hardened inside of you. You never lose.
So why stop now?
“Let's play a game.”
At the moment, both the salesman and Gi-hun were sitting across from each other, face to face, observing each other's expressions under the multicolored fluorescent lights inside the motel. One of their faces showed loathing and disgust, his eyes glossed over with hatred and the pain of everyone he had ever lost. The other eyes were the complete opposite. Instead, shining at the prospect of a new challenge, a game in which either won or lost, would grant him one more chance to play. The blood marks on his face were the only betrayal of his deceptively put-together persona.
“I’m sure you’ve seen this in the movies. It’s called Russian Roulette.” He carefully placed one of the bullets in the gun’s chamber as he explained the rules. “But I’d like to make this game a little more serious,” his smile widened as the look in his eyes became increasingly more manic.
“Cut to the chase,” Gihun snapped.
The salesman’s eyebrow quirked in surprise. The man in front of him seemed nothing like that quivering coward who he met at the subway station long ago. Now, instead of darting, fearful eyes, Gi-hun’s gaze was almost vicious looking. Having transformed from that of a prey to a predator. I wouldn’t expect any less of the man who has been chasing me for the past 3 years. “We’ll take turns pulling the trigger without spinning the cylinder again. The bullet will be fired within six attempts, and the game will be over,” his head tilted, his words serving nothing more than to provoke Gi-hun, “What do you say?”
Gi-hun glared at him, his jaw clenching and his lips pressing into a thin line. He was back to the start. Once again being forced to play games to have the chance of gaining an advantage. Now instead, he was required to risk all the work he had done up to this point to get closer to the man in charge. He gulped as he slowly nodded his head. It seems his gambling addiction was still rooted deep into his being. However, instead of splurging his mother’s money, he had to wager his life. What other choice do I have? The thought of all of his pain and labor to stop the games being in vain if he died didn’t even cross his mind. If I’m only one more bet away from the frontman, then so be it.
With that, the clash of two unrelenting forces began. As the rounds progressed, they each pulled the trigger, the odds of death increasing each time the gun shot blanks. Their postures became more rigid as they passed each other the gun. “Time to Say Goodbye” playing in the background, the slow and beautiful melody a stark contrast to the tense atmosphere between the two players.
The recruiter took every opportunity to insult the other man, enjoying pushing all of the buttons he knew would rile up his competitor. He found it amusing just how effortless it was to provoke him. His confidence reached an all-time peak as the game reached its second to last round. The chance of dying now 50%. “Let me guess what you’re thinking right now…Screw the rules. Pull the trigger once or twice, and I can blow this guy’s face off.”
He knew it was dangerous to anger the man with a gun in hand, but above all, he wanted to prove his point. “But I’ll have you admit one thing.” Show him that he’s the same piece of shit that groveled at his feet for a bit of spare change during their first interaction. “That you’re a piece of trash, just like everybody else.”
Even if it cost him his life.
The man was sure his opponent would cave. His survivor's guilt not being a good enough reason to pull the trigger. He could practically envision his next actions. Gi-hun’s hold on the gun would tighten, his expression filled with that disgusting self-righteousness. His hand beginning to shake at the prospect of dying before ultimately plunging the gun in the other’s face and—
Gi-hun brought the gun up to his temple and pulled the trigger.
The gun didn’t go off.
Well shit.
Gi-hun slowly pulled the gun away from his head, his hand trembling as he pointed it at the salesman. The man in the suit looked at Gi-hun before tearing his eyes away and glancing at the weapon. He hesitantly lifted his hand, his fingers brushing the firearm as his arm drew closer—
“No.”
The salesman blinked at Gi-hun. “No?” As Gi-hun yanked the gun away from the salesman’s grasp, a swarm of questions began to form at a rapid pace inside his brain. What was he playing at? What was he going to do?
Why won’t he let me kill myself?
Gi-hun let out a heavy sigh as he slumped his shoulders and dropped his head. He fidgeted with the gun as his face turned contemplative, weighing over his current options. He looked exhausted. Finally, he redirected his focus to examine the other man, his eyes raking over his form as if that way he could unearth a deeply concealed secret.
“To let you die now, just because you lost…would be no better than what he does.” Silence. The air became thick. The only sounds audible were the ending notes of the song still emanating from the businessman’s phone. Suddenly, a cackle burst through the room, the noise sounding foreign in the serious setting. The mirthless laughter erupted from the salesman as Gi-hun’s words sunk in. In an instant, he shot up from his seat and clutched onto Gi-hun’s shirt, jerking him forward so that their faces were mere inches away.
“Who. Do. You. Think. You. Are. Mr. Seong,” the recruiter spat out the words, his voice dropping to a dangerous, low tone. His mouth contorted to a sneer, his previously carefree demeanor now resembling that of a wild animal. Any concern for his appearance was long forgotten. “Do you think your pity grants you any worth to your already pathetic life?” The anger in his eyes burned like a wildfire, threatening to consume everything in its path. “You may be ashamed of your sins, but there is no use trying to deny who you really are. Why try to act like either of us are any different from what fate has dictated for us?”
“Because!... I cannot accept that the only way to end the games is by being as immoral as the people who created them!”
“Unlike you, I have learned to live with the fact that there is no other way to accomplish your goals. If you want to alter society to cater to your beliefs, then the process requires an equal amount of sacrifice. Whether that be your own…or of others.”
“Does that hold true for you?” Gi-hun tilted his head as realization settled in his eyes. “The only way you've managed to maintain that cynical outlook on life is by surrounding yourself only with experiences that would prove your point?” As he spoke, he once again brought the gun upwards, pushing it with such force to the salesman's chin it was sure to hurt. “Tell me, was you being an underling for them ever actually about getting rid of humanity’s waste?…or was that just an excuse for your own shortcomings as a person. Is that why you’re so eager to get put down like the dog you are? Eager to die the same way your father did?”
“My father! And many like him are a weight that hinders society’s ability to progress!” His voice rose to a shout, the veins in his neck becoming visible against his red skin. “That is why the games were created, to get rid of the bottom feeders who live their lives lurking in the shadows of accomplished men!”
He paused. He looked down at his hands, still tightly holding onto Gi-hun’s shirt, and saw that his knuckles were white from how hard he was clutching. He let go, shouting would get him nowhere, not when he was dealing with someone as ignorant as Gi-hun. I can't let his words get to me. He took a deep breath before he began again, this time in a much calmer voice. “Those who contribute should not be forced to bear the burden of putting up with those who don’t,” his lips quirked up in a small smirk, “do you think your mother wanted to spend her late years providing for you?”
Gi-hun clenched his jaw. “I realize my faults now, and if I could go back to change them I would…but I can't. Which is why I need to shut these games down, because I need to fight for what I can change—what needs to change. Not just dwell on the memories of my past mistakes.” He paused. Slowly, he loosened the pressure of the gun against the salesman’s chin. He tilted back into the chair, creating space between the two. His chin jutted upward as his facial expression hardened into determination. “And you're going to help me.”
The businessman chuckled as he adjusted his suit and tie, “I have no reason to. Even if I did want to assist in your little heroic endeavor you wouldn't stand a chance.” His gaze turned distant and empty as images of the past flooded his mind, “I have seen firsthand just how controlling ambition is, how far people are willing to go to satisfy their hunger, one man won't make the slightest difference.”
“Then prove your point. Help me get in and I’ll show you that all you need in one person to create a spark,” his voice was steady and unwavering. His confidence akin to that of a sturdy tree, firmly rooted in the ground, and standing tall against the storm that was the man sitting across from him. “After all, you lost. You lost against me and that’s eating away at you, right?” It was Gi-hun’s turn to laugh, the irony of the situation not lost on him. “I know that you more than anyone respect the rules when it comes to games. Now that I’ve decided not to kill you, you still need some form of punishment to tell yourself that you can take a defeat with dignity. You owe me”
The recruiter’s jaw tightened.
Gi-hun continued, “Unless you'd like to admit that you really are a dog. Favoring serving your owners above respecting the outcome of the game. In that case, you would be a hypocrite, and you'd have to admit you're no better than those you claim to hate.”
He blinked, his eyes narrowing as he scanned Gi-hun, for the first time since meeting him he was taking the time to really look at him. For once in his life, the recruiter is seemingly at a loss for words, his quick wits abandoning him. Eventually, he let out a deep sigh, one that seemed to carry the weight of all those whose lives he had taken. He didn't believe that humanity's greed would come to an end just because one individual happened to be the exception. But Gi-hun was so disgustingly optimistic. So, he thought he might as well offer the one piece of advice that would allow Gi-hun to stand a chance.
“Fine.”
Gi-hun froze in shock, he hadn’t expected the man to actually be willing to help him.
The salesman interlocked his fingers as leaned forward, his aura turning into that of a successful strategist. “In that case, there’s someone you’ll want to meet. Her name is Kang No-Eul. She is employed as one of the guards for the games but has recently been displeased with the system she works for,” his hands moved randomly as he emphasized the points in his words, almost as if he were discussing a presentation. “She is a North Korean defector, and the only thing she wants is to have her child cross over as well.” He spoke in a light, almost playful tone, “If you were to help her…she would be indebted to you.”
Gi-hun looked at his lap, he didn’t want to emotionally manipulate a mother into helping him by using her child. The more he thought about it, he knew he didn’t have any other choice.
“That way, you could convince her to aid you in pretending to be a guard. You won’t be able to protect the players that way, but you would be on the inside of the inner workings of the games. More power. More control.”
The salesman abruptly stood up, snatching the phone off of the desk and shoving it into Gi-hun’s chest. “Her contact information along with everything else you will need is in there.”
Gi-hun looked up, concern suddenly lacing his features, “What about you?”
The salesman gave an empty smile.
“Does not matter. They are bound to find out what I did soon enough."

Warnings: Talk of Self Harming
Squid Game Characters Finding Out You Self Harm
Squid Game Characters (Gi-Hun [456], Sangwoo [218], & Sae-Byeok [067] X Gn!Reader
Gi-Hun [456]:
- gi-hun would end up finding out when the sleeve of your hoodie lifted up and he saw marks on your arms that he had never seen before
- he would ask you about it that night when you two were about to go to sleep, not thinking that you were self harming at all
- so when you told him, he was in complete shock, he even showed it on his face which he realized immediately after and quickly apologized before asking why you do it
- hearing your reason would make gi-hun extremely sad and he would reassure you that you don’t have to do that and that you shouldn’t be injuring yourself in such a kind way, not like he was demanding you to stop
- he would then ask you everyday how you were doing right in the morning then in the evening, even if his answer might be the same every time
- gi-hun would be so kind throughout helping you recover from this, he would listen to you rant about your problems instead of doing it, or he would get a rubber band or hair tie to put on your wrist and snap it when you felt like doing it (i actually recommend this bc it worked for me)
- “i love you more than anything. i would do anything for you if it meant you would be happy.”
- he would put up sticky notes when he was out for you at home to always remind you that he loved you and that he wasn’t going anywhere
- gi-hun would help you hide the scars if you wanted them to not be shown like getting you long-sleeve shirts or jackets that would cover them or buy makeup and apply it to the scars to cover them up because he looked it up and thought it might work
- if you didn’t want to hide the scars, he would be the one to answer the questions if people ask what those were from by making up random lies on the spot like your cat that you didn’t own or from being in a gang fight
Sangwoo [218]:
- he would probably flip the fuck out ngl
- he would see the marks on you somehow and would immediately know what it was and he would ask right at the moment if you were self harming, not even sugarcoating it at all
- when you replied yes, sangwoo would get more angry mixed with sadness as he walked up to you and asked how long you had been doing it
- if it had been for a while, he would feel like you lost trust in him and would be more upset than angry, but if it wasn’t a while then he would be more angry
- “you’re stupid for doing this but i understand so don’t feel bad.”
- sangwoo would have you try smoking with him as a replacement to self harming and if you did he would make sure to take smoke breaks with you whenever you were feeling the need to self harm
- he sucks at talking about his feelings but it would be noticeable through his actions that he was clearly upset that you had been doing this, but he would never admit it
- sangwoo would be much more protective over you after finding out because of the worry in the back of his head that you could have died one day because of it and how much regret he would feel for not noticing quick enough
- he would never pressure you into talking more about it in deeper context if it made you uncomfortable but if you wanted to talk about it he would listen quietly, taking in all of the words you were saying before replying with his opinion
- sangwoo isn’t one to cuddle very much, but every night when you two would go to bed he would make sure that he had at least one arm wrapped around you in some way so that he was still touching you to make sure you hadn’t gone anywhere
- he would read a lot about how to help people who self harm so he can help you the best he can and would actually buy physical copies of books about it to show how much he does care and want to help
Sae-Byeok [067]:
- she would probably take it the hardest tbh
- she found you in the middle of the act, and she ran up to you and grabbed your hands to stop what you were doing as she spoke loudly out all of what was crossing her mind at that exact moment, which was very unlike her
- after realizing that she was almost yelling, sae-byeok quieted down and asked why you were doing it before grabbing the first aid kit and helping tend the wounds
- when you explain to her why you were doing it, she would immediately hug you and pull you close to her as possible
- “you could have told me about this, y’know. but i don’t blame you for not. just know that i love you.”
- that night, sae-byeok went to sleep with you and wrapped her entire body around you, occasionally kissing your neck and whispering how much she loved you, hoping that you wouldn’t hear but you heard every word
- the next morning she was awake before you because she couldn’t get any sleep and threw away everything that you had used and made sure that it wouldn’t happen again
- cuddling happened a lot more after that even though she already likes cuddling with you

A Broken Family (Part 1)
Requested: Yes
A/N: This hurts a lot and it’s not even done yet :)) I’ve decided to make this a two parter because it’s already nearly 2k words and i have so much more to write with this. As much as it pains me to write it, i’m having a lot of fun working on it
Part 2
Warnings: Pain. Just pain
“What the hell were you doing there in the first place?!”
Sangwoo only felt rage as he followed you down the dimply lit street. After being drugged and thrown into the cold after the group vote, the last thing he wanted to see was his daughter next to him, in the same predicament. He may have felt foolish for even bringing up the rule before, but now he was thanking the stars that he had.
You had been ignoring your father all the way, from when you got dressed, to swiftly walking the pavement now. It bothered you that he suddenly cared about your safety, while he hadn’t spoken to you since he left your mother when you were 15. No explanation, no good-bye; he just left. And that was 3 years ago.
You had to give him some credit, he was very persistent. You’d been walking for nearly ten minutes, and he hadn’t stopped talking once.
Finally having enough, you spun around, forcing him to a halt. “Does it really matter? Mom’s in deep debt, I’m doing what I have to to help since I’m the only one that will.”
The man flinched at the subtle jab, but he had to admit he had deserved it. When he left your mother, he wasn’t thinking abut anyone but himself. Not the mother of his child, not you, but him. He thought it would be easier on everyone if he said nothing, hoping the sudden, silent departure would be better than whatever harsh excuse he would say to them. But staring at the resentful look on your face, he knew he was wrong.
“If she’s the one who’s in debt, why is she sending her daughter to clean up her mess?” His words were cold, far colder than he intended. But he didn’t understand. Your mother had been loving, doting, and would do anything to protect their child. It didn’t make sense to him that instead of her, you stood before him.
“She has cancer, and that’s why she has the debt. I wasn’t going to let her go to some stupid game she was offered in the middle of a dingy train station.”
The words hit Sangwoo like a truck. He had left, lost all contact. He convinced himself they were better off. But your mother had cancer, his ex-wife had cancer.
“What kind, how bad is it?”
“Bad enough that her debt is mainly from hospital stays.”
“Can I see her?”
You scoffed at the question and immediately turned around to keep walking. “You didn’t care about her 3 years ago, don’t act like you care now.”
That was the last he saw of you before you both returned to the game. Sangwoo wanted to scold you for coming back, but he had to stop himself. The memories of your last interaction replayed in his head. There was so much more he could’ve done instead of letting you leave like that. He could’ve told you to not return, he would promise to go back and win the money for the both of you, give you all it took to make your mother healthy. But he knew that even if he worded it as perfectly as he could, you would turn the offer down. His promise were empty words to you at this point. You didn’t respect him as a man, much less your father.
And he couldn’t say he blamed you.
But you did respect Gi-Hun and he learned that when he saw the man wave across the room to you excitedly, you returning it with the same energy. Gi-Hun had explained to Sangwoo that after he had left, he came by the house frequently to help with what he could. His oldest friend didn’t bother prying Sangwoo on why he left, though he could feel that he wanted to.
He stayed silent and stared at the ground as you approached them. You sat directly next to Gi-Hun and began chatting about the game, why you both came back, and so on. Eventually, you both were getting a group formed to strategize and Sangwoo tried his best to fade into the background. He tried to put his two cents in where he could, but he knew it was best to stay out of your way.
For the most part he did. But then there was the riot.
When he heard the first scream, he shot up in his bed and hurriedly looked around for you. Fatherly instincts he hadn’t felt in years were in full effect and he needed to find you. He found you by Gi-Hun’s bed like they had all discussed earlier, but you looked petrified. You were freshly 18, you were just a kid. You shouldn’t have to be here.
He pushed aside everything that happened in the past, every mistake he had made and ran to your spot. You barely had time to register the new figure before he pulled you into a bone crushing embrace. Without second thought, you hugged him back, a sobbing mess. All your reserves were down at this point. You didn’t care anymore. You needed your dad.
“I’m scared, dad, I’m so scared,” you whimpered as he dragged you with him, looking for any safe place to hide.
“I know, angel, it’ll be over soon.” He shielded your eyes from the strobe lights, picking up a stray bar from the ground to defend you with.
Suddenly, the old man’s voice filled the air. He yelled for the riot to stop, called everyone a barbarian. And then the lights came on.
As they turned on, Sangwoo finally looked down at you. You’re shaking form was huddled into him, holding his shirt for dear life. He merely held you closer as he went to find the rest of the group, directing you away from the many dead bodies that littered the floor.
The rest of the night was silent.
Your group built a fort out of the toppled bunks and decided who would take watch first.
Sangwoo sat up in his spot next to you. He hadn’t let you out of his sight since the riot ended, he wouldn’t let himself. “I’ll take first watch.”
Everyone went into discussion of who would join him when he felt you shift beside him. You had pulled your legs to your chest, resting your chin on them. Your eyes rimmed red from sobbing for so long, and Sangwoo noted just how exhausted your expression was. “I’ll join him.”
His eyebrows furrowed. “Y/N, you’re going to bed. You’ve been through enough today,” he protested.
“I can take care of myself.” You grabbed a broken piece of glass from the ground and walked to the guard spot before he could say anything else. Sighing, he joined you while the others set down for the night.
Darkness surrounded you both, the silence between you heavier than anything Sangwoo had felt before. Your form was slouched over, the glass shard barely held anymore.
“You called me dad.”
You glanced at him tiredly.
His eyes went downcast as you stared him down. “Earlier, during the riot. You called me dad.”
“Well, biologically, you are. I don’t know if you are by other standards.”
Even before your father had left, he was distant. Always at work, always getting home late. If you had any recitals or school events, you never got your hopes up about him attending, because you knew he wouldn’t. Work became his life and family was always second priority. You learned that younger than a child should.
When you were younger, the day you were born to when you turned 4, you had some happy memories. Before he became the man was, he was… good. You remembered a dad who would make you meals for your picky tastes. A dad that played in the backyard with you, cleaning your wounds when you would get a scrape. A dad who would stay in your room a whole night, sitting by your bedside to make sure the ‘monsters’ didn’t get you. He used to be so gentle, so dedicated to giving you the world. Making sure you felt important and loved.
But then one seemingly normal day, a flip switched. And he was no longer the dad you once knew. Instead of cooking for you, he wouldn’t be home early enough for meals. Playing in the yard with him turned into you playing alone in the rain. And soon, you had to ward off the monsters on your own. Though your mom tried her best to fill the absence, nothing would fill that dad shaped whole in your heart.
Even so young, you would cry to yourself in your room. You would sob, wondering why daddy didn’t love you anymore. That was the moment most burned into your memory.
So, at 15, when he left without a word, you weren’t surprised. Because at the age of 4, you felt he already had.
You were brought out of your thoughts by Sangwoo speaking up.
“I’m sorry for leaving. I should’ve stayed or talked it out with you two. It was selfish, what I did. I knew it then, and I know it now. I should’ve reached out, but my pride got the best of me. I regret that. And I regret not being there for you and your mother when you needed me most.”
The man got it all out in one breathe before looking at you with silent eyes. Guilty ones.
You didn’t quite know what to say, yet you didn’t want the conversation to stop. You knew this must be hard for him. But you needed to know more. “Why did you leave?”
A heavy sigh left his lips and his eyes wandered again. Not bothering to ask, he flung his arm around your shoulders and pulled you to his side. But you didn’t mind, the comfort of your dad’s presence warming your heart more than you’d like to admit.
“Your mother and I had you very young, both of us 21. It was a scary time; we weren’t financially stable, we were barely getting by with just the two of us. But we knew we wanted you. With everything stacked against us, we knew we wanted you. And when you were born, when I held you the first time, I swore it was the best day of my life. I still think it was, I don’t remember another time being so happy. You were perfect, I couldn’t believe I made you.” You look up to see him softly smiling, the memory replaying in his head. “I loved being a dad, doing all the things dads do. I loved seeing you grow up, the way you smiled proudly to me after you lost your first tooth. You were so happy to see me when I got home from a 14-hour workday, just the sight of you made me forget just how exhausted I was.”
His expression fell suddenly. “But then I got a new job, a better job. The hours were longer, but I thought that if I worked hard enough and got enough money, I could give you a better future. That’s not how it worked out though. When you became a teenager, I realized that I missed out on so much. I was afraid to see how much damage I did by not being there, Y/N. And I knew I was in debt. I didn’t want to face you two if you ever found out, so I left. I never realized much damage I really did until I saw you here.”
Silent tears fell down his face that he quickly wiped away. Dads didn’t cry, they were supposed to be strong. So he wondered why he was so weak all those years ago.

Love & Loss
Chapter 3
Warnings ⚠️⚠️: Smut, Unprotected sex, cheating, swearing
Words: 2217
Fuck Sang-woo. Fuck his stupid business trips. Fuck him ignoring me. Fuck him. He just disappeared for the second time. I couldn't forgive him after this. And it hurt. It hurt so bad. I loved him. I loved him so much. But he didn't love me. Not like how I loved him at least.
I was still working with his mom. She wouldn't let me go even if I wanted to. She loves me and will make sure I'm well fed and have the money I earn.
I was out drinking. I was by myself at the bar. I really didn't like drinking alone. But I also didn't like sitting at home by myself.
"Rae-Jin?" My name is called as someone walks up beside me. I turn to them confused.
"Gi-hun?" I am taken aback by my old childhood friend standing in front of me. A smile spreads on his face. Oh how I missed that smile. It made me melt inside. Made my insides feel all warm and giddy like they used to when he was around.
"How have you been?" He asks as he takes a seat next to me.
"G-Good." I stutter. "And you? How have you been? How's your wife?"
"I've been good. She's good too. We found out she's pregnant." He announces. Oh.
"Really?" I plaster on the most fake smile I could. The news didn't make me happy when I should be for him.
"Yeah. You know we've been trying." He nods. I know she's his wife and all but does she really deserve him with her like that? He could do so much better. I bite my lip.
"Congratulations." I manage to mutter out.
"What have you been up too? Have you heard anything from Sang-woo?" He questions as he sips his drink. Sang-woo... Should I tell him? Maybe? I mean he's got a wife. Why would anything bother him?
"Yeah. He came back after graduation and we hung out. We um... We kissed." I fiddle with my hands. So I fibbed a little. He just basically told me he was having sex with his wife for a baby. But that was actually true so I guess it goes against what I'm trying to argue.
"Oh wow. Really? So are you two...?" He trails off.
"Friends." I'm quick to respond. "Just friends. It was just a kiss. Nothing else happened. He left for a business trip and it's kind of back to not hearing from him. Ever." I shrug.
"Oh I'm sorry to hear that." His voice was sympathetic.
"Cut the sympathy. I don't need it. All I need is to finish my drink, step out for a cigarette and then find some guy to dance on until I'm bored." I mumble the last little bit of it but I think he caught it because his eyes snap to me looking with wide eyes. I clear my throat. I gulp down the last of my drink and get up.
"Can I come out with you?" He asks. I nod and walk out, him following behind me like a lost puppy. Once outside I pull a pack of cigarettes out from my pocket. I pull one out and hold out the open pack towards him.
"I shouldn't. She won't be happy." He says referring to his wife.
"Screw her and just take one. I know you want to. You don't always have to do what she says. If you want to do something she really can't stop you." I grumble. He sighs and takes one.
"I just don't want to anger her. She's pregnant and all."
"It's one cigarette. It won't kill you or her." I shrug. I light my cigarette and hand him the lighter so he can light his.
"I just want her happy." He lights his cigarette.
"You didn't have to have one. Yet you still did." I take my lighter back and slip it and the cigarettes into my pocket. It falls silent.
"What caused you to start smoking?" He asks.
"Stress." I answer simply. He nods to that.
"You know I would like to try and be friends again." He leans against the wall. I look up into his brown eyes.
"I would like that." I give him a small smile. He returns the smile. That smile makes me melt all over again. "Let's finish up and go get another drink."
I don't remember a lot from that night except one thing. We danced. Me and him used to dance together all the time growing up. And after a few drinks we loosened up enough to dance together. But after a few more drinks after that and his hands were on my waist and my arms were around his neck. My forehead was placed against his and our eyes were locked together.
We mostly just swayed together to the music. It had felt like one of the most intimate moments in my life. The way his thumbs drew circles on my hips and he was holding me against him. I never wanted it to end. We didn't talk, just stared into each other's eyes. Deep down I knew how wrong this was. But the alcohol in me didn't care. It only cared about what was in my heart. And that was longing for my best friend. Longing for him to hold me, rock me, caress me, love me, kiss me.
But this apparently wasn't enough for me. We drank some more. This lead to us walking arms wrapped loosely with each other as we laugh and stumble our way out of the bar after it closes. We stop in front of the street and he flags down a cab.
I trip over myself falling into the cab and he climbs in. I tell the drive my address and then sit up properly and giggle. My little giggle gets a chuckle out of Gi-hun. His arm snakes around my waist as he pulls me closer to his body. I laugh as he leans to my neck. I feel his warm lips connect with my skin. My hear rate picks up and I suck in a deep breath. He leaves wet, sloppy kisses all over my neck that ignited something in me. We couldn't get to my house fast enough.
His hand around my waist slowly snakes up and lands on my breast. My breath hitches in my throat. He pulls his face from my neck and turns my head to meet his eyes. I knew how wrong this was but the alcohol didn't. My mind wasn't on the thought that he was cheating. It wasn't on the fact that he was being disloyal and I was actually becoming the homewrecker I never wanted to be. It was just the fact that he was here. And he was mine for the night.
I connect the little bit of space between us by placing my lips to his. They weren't super soft. A little chapped. But they were gentle and loving. His free hand cups my cheek in attempt to pull my face closer to his. One of my hands move into his hair and get tangled with the black strands.
We finally come to a stop after about fifteen minutes I think of making out. We pull apart, cheeks flushed and lips slightly swollen. I hand money to the driver quickly before pushing Gi-hun out. We can't even make it to the door without continuing where we left off.
We stumble over each other and we try to get to the door. I had my hand out reaching for it. Finally I grab the knob and pull from his lips. He doesn't hesitate to press them to my neck instead resulting in a soft moan releasing from my lips. I fumble with my keys in attempt to try and get my key in as fast as possible. I shakily put the key in the doorknob and unlock it as fast as I possibly could. I shove it open and he wastes no time pushing me inside and kicking the door shut behind him.
I rip my jacket off and then reconnect our lips. My keys drop to the floor with a clang. He swiftly picks me up and sits me on the kitchen counter. I run my hands along his chest and push his jacket from his shoulders. He wiggles his arms out and throws it to the ground. He breaks the kiss and in one quick motion he pulls his shirt off leaving his bare chest and stomach exposed. I gently caress my fingers from the top of his chest until my hand reaches the belt of his pants.
I look up to meet his eyes, in a way to ask for permission. As soon as he gives me a nod my hands work to unbuckle his belt and fight with the button on his pants until they are undone. His finger hook under the hem of my shirt and he pulls it up over my head and off my arms. His eyes take in every curve on my body. Every perfection. Every imperfection. Even drunk my insecurities didn't stop me from getting insecure. But the tug at the corner of his lips made me feel a little better. I unbuttoned my jeans and he is quick to help pull them down my legs. He kicks them behind him.
I push his pants and boxers down just enough to expose the hard on he was hiding. I give him a smirk before gently stroking him a bit. He gets down in front of me. He pushes my panties aside and without wasting a single second his mouth is on me. And god that was the best feeling. I couldn't imagine anything better than this at the moment. His tongue swiping over my clit repeatedly causes my to let out gasps of pleasure.
"Gi-hun..." I could tell it riled him up when I said his name. His fingers run along the soft skin of my thighs. My hands tangle in his hair as my head rests back on the cabinet behind me. A moan from him causes louder noises from me as he causes a vibration. He inches me closer and closer just until I'm about to finish.
He pulls away. I groan in disappointment. He peppers soft kisses to my inner thighs before standing back up. I let out a breath before feeling him rub his dick against me. I gasp from the sudden feeling. He does this for a second before slowly sinking himself all the way into me. In sync we gasp and groan at the feeling. He places both his hand against my ass and holds me close for a moment before he starts thrusting. I wrap my arms tightly around his neck to keep him close.
He buried his face into my collarbone and takes in my scent. The room was filled with the sound of my moaning and gasping from the pleasure he filled me with. Along with groans coming from Gi-hun here and there.
"God I love you." He whispers into my ear.
"I love you." Those words were encouraging for him. He places his hands under my thighs and this allows him to push my legs up and open them further to his pleasing. He continues to just fuck me. Right there on my kitchen counter. Nothing else mattered. Just me and him at the moment. Even if it shouldn't have been like this it was. And it was blissful. He made me feel something I never felt before and this made me feel loved again. He made me feel wanted again.
I was pretty much on my edge again since he already got me close and built me up before. My moans were getting louder and I knew he was getting close too because he was becoming more vocal.
"I'm gonna cum..." I get out and he chuckles quietly which sent chills all over my body.
"Cum for me love." He whispers in my ear. I relax my body as my orgasm finally reaches. I make sure to moan out his name as I finish. As soon as I was done. He was out of me and pulled me off the counter. He pushes me to my knees in front of him and I knew what he wanted.
I take his tip into my mouth and suck while swirling my tongue around it. I place my hand at his base as I take more of him into my mouth. I jerk off the rest that I couldn't fit in my mouth as I deep throat him. Only a few seconds of this before he was finishing.
"I'm cumming." He warns me just before I feel it shooting in my mouth. I swallow down the warm liquid and then pull away. He takes my arm and helps me stand. He stares at me as he pushes a strand of hair behind my ear. "So beautiful." He whispers causing my face to heat up. He picks me up and I wrap my legs around his waist as he grips my thighs. My arms hang on his neck. And he carries me to my room for the rest of this sinful but pleasurable night.

it’s quick oneshot-inspired-by-@rinas-ninjas‘ palette-challenge-art time ❤️ that stuff is right up my alley y’all don’t even know. anyway, this is also a bit of a thank you gift to @lloydskywalkers for always being so supportive of this fandom’s writer community and such an inspiration in her own work! i absolutely do not deserve all the love you’ve given TMS, so you completely deserve some post-s4 brotherly bonding hun 💚💚
content warning: there’s lots of blood and a very likely upsetting way it’s taken care of because of the way it’s described, so please don’t read if you’re under 13 or sensitive to these things!
~~~~~
Kai wasn’t exactly expecting things to go back to normal right away. The team could still laugh with each other and band together against an enemy like nothing changed, but it’d be naive to think that, once everything settled down, there wouldn’t be some hitches.
He just didn’t think Lloyd would be one of them.
It’s three in the morning, and he’s already awake. Rolling over onto his back, he stares up at the ceiling in the guest room he’s been staying in since they got back from Chen’s outright lousy island. He blinks a few times, wondering what pulled his brain out of his coma so early.
Soft - slow - footsteps pad down the hall outside. Right, it’s time for Lloyd’s patrol. His actual one today, apparently. He’s been randomly stealing everyone’s shifts after Anacondrai gang wannabes started cropping up, inspired by Chen in spite of what happened to him.
In spite of what Sensei Garmadon sacrificed to stop him. Weeks ago.
A whole month has gone by, and Lloyd still won’t talk to anyone about it, least of all Kai. And Kai, in particular, has barely been able to have a conversation with him about anything without the kid stuttering and finding something else to do that cuts off the interaction like an axe to his neck.
He knows perfectly well why.
Kicking off the blanket, he drags himself out of bed and slips on his sandals.
He’s got no one else to blame but himself that Lloyd’s scared of him now, so he let this go on for too long. He’s not sure what’s come over him about it, but at some point in the last few days, he decided he’s putting a stop to it, any act he can do at a time.
He has to show Lloyd that he can still rely on him. That he’s trustworthy and useful and not a screw up and worth more to the team than the shattered bathroom mirror says.
His hurry down the hall causes a yawning audience to trail him, Jay mumbling, “Where’s the fire?”
Lloyd’s about to step out when he makes it to the foyer. “Hey,” he calls.
Freezing, Lloyd tilts his head back a little, answering with a hesitant, “Yeah?”
Ignoring Cole and Jay behind him, Kai moves further into the room, mustering his nerve to say, “I can take your shift. If you want.”
“It’s fine. I got it,” he responds quickly as he turns to Kai. He wavers a little bit, and the dark circles under his wide eyes stand out in Zane’s reading light.
Catching Kai’s drift, Cole gently suggests, “Lloyd, maybe it’s better for you to stay in.”
“I…appreciate the concern, but this is something I need to do,” Lloyd asserts back, his jaw locked from annoyance.
It’s clear to Kai that Lloyd’s been using the patrols to ignore what happened to his dad. Maybe he’s trying to put off sleep, too. Both worried about that and absorbing Lloyd’s aggravation like a sponge, Kai huffs, “Look, dude, it’s obvious you’re tired. Just let me cover you for one night.”
“I said it’s fine. You don’t want to be here anyway,” Lloyd bites, hardly even looking at the others when he says it, and storms out of the dojo so fast that Kai can only stare as the door slams shut.
Oh.
Kai braces himself on the front counter, squeezing his eyes shut. That’s what’s wrong. They - he - left Lloyd all alone. Of course he feels like he has to do everything like that now.
Jay humphs a little and rubs his eye, heading back upstairs as he tiredly jokes, “Well, my shift’s always open.”
Following him, Cole pats Kai’s shoulder. “Let the kid grieve in his own way. He’ll come around.”
Easy for you to say, Kai thinks. He has it on good authority that throwing yourself into work to avoid your feelings doesn’t help in the long run.
“Are you all right?” Zane asks from his chair on the other side of the room, the giant book he’s been chipping away at for three nights abandoned in his lap.
Straightening, Kai tightly answers, “Yep.”
“I am certain you will think of a way to help him,” he states, returning to his book.
Well, he already has. He races back up to his room and throws on his gi. With his comm-link in his ear, he doesn’t waste time running back downstairs. Instead, he leaps out the window as he summons his elemental dragon and takes off after his little brother.
He’s going to prove to Lloyd that he won’t just leave him on his own again.
~~~~~
A few miles out from his dad’s dojo, Lloyd rides his dragon along his patrol route and fights tears, scrubbing at his face every few moments. Stupid Kai, he thinks, but then he shakes his head, mumbling, “Stupid me.”
Somewhere inside, he’s happier than anything to have the team back together. He knew how much he missed them, but it feels a million times better actually being able to watch them work hard in the training yard, hearing them laugh at the breakfast table, everyone saying “good morning” and then “goodnight,” just like it used to be.
But he got used to his dad.
Lloyd can’t keep himself from running through scenarios that might have saved him, and some of those possibilities include things he would never voice, like not taking the challenge at all. But because he wouldn’t do something like that, Dad got to suffer the consequences.
A scream splits him from his thoughts.
“Where?” he asks the night, searching the ground. In a secluded alley, he spots what looks like three men corning a woman.
He sends his dragon into a dive for them, landing it between her and the attackers. It roars before he banishes it and readies his stance. “If you guys know what’s good for you, you’ll leave right now,” he threatens, lighting his power in his hands.
“It’s the Green Ninja,” one of them shouts to his buddies.
“Get him!”
The three drawing knives, they descend on him.
He cuts out the energy and dodges the closest man’s knife, noting the Anacondrai tattoo on his wrist. Grabbing the extended arm, Lloyd hurls the body at the next one. While they untangle themselves, he punches the third in the gut, grabbing his head when he doubles over and slamming his face on a nearby electrical unit.
The second kicks his kneecap from where he still lies on the ground, but Lloyd jumps back enough before the attack can fully connect. With a small yell, he blasts the man’s chest.
Left alone now, the first tries his luck again, charging at Lloyd with his knife held above his head. A high kick knocks it from his hand, and one more solid kick to his solar plexus takes him out.
With a stumble that he locks down on, Lloyd moves over to the woman crouched in the corner. “Hey, you’re safe now,” he says soothingly, extending his hand.
She looks up from her knees and stares at it before she takes it, her own hand trembling.
“It’s alright,” he consoles as he helps her stand. “Do you live around here?”
Wordlessly, she nods, clutching her purse close to her body.
He steps back to give her some space. “Do you need to call someone? Or, uh, I can take you there.” He accepts her careful step forward as an answer and turns around to leave the alley. Mostly to himself, he mutters, “I need to let the police know about these guys. Should’ve brought a rope or some―”
Normally, he’d never let anyone get the drop on him, especially not someone he could take without even looking, but Kai’s right. He’s tired. Distracted. Stressed and not keeping his guard up when he should, but how could he? She’s just an innocent person who needed help.
She’s not holding a switchblade, and that’s not his blood. It couldn’t be.
“It’s your fault,” she spits, circling around him. “You let those Anacondrai warriors attack my home. My children.”
Gasping, Lloyd backs against the wall the woman was just cowering against, his hand pressed to the throbbing fire in his side. “I-I’m sorry. We did―”
“Save it for your maker!” She steps over one of the men and kicks him, barking, “Get up.” The three of them groan as they comply. She hands her knife to the one who stands up first and orders, “Now finish it.”
Lloyd sucks in deeper breaths as he pushes himself to straighten. He can ignore the pain and pretend he doesn’t feel it long enough. With his teeth bared, he calls up another two energy orbs, warning, “Stay. Away.”
The man just smirks and keeps inching closer, so Lloyd pitches a sphere at him, knocking him clear out of the alley. Scrambling back to his feet, he squeaks, “Forget this,” and runs off.
Lloyd manages to re-energize his empty hand before the others get any more ideas, bending his knees and glaring, daring them.
“Yeah, I’m out. I didn’t sign up to kill him,” the second man says. The third follows after him.
The woman glowers at their retreat but makes no effort to stop them. Snapping her purse shut, she looks back at Lloyd, bitterly stating, “You may have this city worshiping you, but you don’t fool me.” And with that, she leaves him alone.
His energy orbs sputter out, taking his grip on equilibrium with them. The ground falls away like a tunnel as he staggers back a step, but he shuts his eyes and shakes his head sharply. He’ll be fine. He can get home and have this taken care of, no problem. He just needs his dragon.
Trying to summon it nearly sends him to the concrete. So he’s too freaked out to do that.
He can walk then. Find someone with a phone or something. The knife was pretty thin, wasn’t it? It can’t be bad enough that he won’t be able to walk.
One foot in front of the other. Not difficult. One step, next step, and then the next―
He gasps so hard he sees stars and has to catch himself on the wall. Restraining a scream in his throat doesn’t do much to chase away the incessant throb, but it helps the frustration building faster around his racing heart.
Flipping over, his back hits the wall. It’s practically the only thing holding him up, and that makes ice run down his spine.
He’s not as knowledgeable on anatomy as he should be, but he has a vague understanding that where she stabbed him is close to a cluster of nerves. On reflection, he instinctively twisted his torso just in time; she was probably going for his kidney or the giant artery beside it. A common target for someone who wants to cause pain.
Great, now he needs to know how bad it is.
He reaches around to touch the excruciating point under his ribs, hissing when his hand fumbles over it. Holding them up to the light of a distant streetlamp, he finds his fingers glazed in red, a mini pool of it in his palm.
A tremor’s already wracking his whole arm, and there’s warmth seeping across his lower back, stolen from his limbs.
He’s been injured and bled before, but this. It’s too much for him to deal with by himself. The pain, the fear, the knowledge of why all gather together behind his eyes and spill out as he murmurs, “Oh god.”
But there’s hope. He’s still got a spark of it. With the others home again, he has one last option.
Tapping his comm, he forces his voice to steadily enough ask, “K-Kai?”
His heart drops to his stomach when his brain promptly supplies, What if they went back to sleep? Nobody’s listening. Even if he does hear you, the dojo’s miles away.
No one’s gonna be able to come for him. He’s in real trouble now, and it’s all because he was a jerk and didn’t let them be a team even though that’s the exact thing he wanted, and god, what’s Dad gonna think? Is he even in a real afterlife? Oh god, he’s never seeing him again. He’s gonna die out here, or some other day, and it won’t even matter―
“What’s up, Lloyd? You’re kind of staticky.”
He wants to laugh in relief, but the pain’s killing him enough, and as cloudy as it’s making his senses, he heard the worry in Kai’s voice despite the effort he used to hide it.
With his fleeting strength, he manages, “I-I need h-help.”
~~~~~
Ten minutes.
He was only ten minutes behind Lloyd.
Kai can’t hear anything outside his comm. He can barely see besides the blurry lines that are supposed to be streets he soars above. The only reason he knows Nya heard him when he told her to notify a hospital is because she commanded him to keep Lloyd talking.
“Yeah, and what’d he say to that?”
“Jeez. Gene was…s-so mad. Said..said he’d get me back f-for sure.”
“Tell me you got him first.”
“I-I tried, but I d-didn’t know where..to find…scor-scorpions.” He laughs at himself, but the sound chokes off with a gasp.
“Lloyd?”
“Are you close?”
“Yeah. Yeah, buddy, two minutes. Just sit tight.”
“A-awesome.”
“I know where we can get a couple.”
“What?”
“Scorpions. We can still get that jerk.”
“H-he’s nice…n-now…Remember? Don’t..be mean.”
“Right, yeah. We ruined a perfectly good bad boy, didn’t we? Too nice for your own good, Lloyd.”
Instead of answering, Kai just hears sniffling and measured groaning like Lloyd’s trying to control the pain.
He’s about to ask how he’s doing when Lloyd speaks up again. “Is…is that what’s…wrong with me?”
“Nothing’s wrong with you, man.”
“B-but if I was mean, then…then Dad might still―”
“Hey, hey, listen. None of that was your fault. Okay? Can you see me? I think I’m over the right street.”
It takes Lloyd a minute before he hums, “Mhm. F-fire…dragon.”
“Yeah, bud. I’m right here. You’re gonna be fine.” Kai doesn’t see him, though. It’s still pretty dark, and the alley’s crowded with junk.
A green orb floats up from beside a big power box.
Kai drops his dragon and banishes it just before they hit the ground, flipping off it to break the fall. He’s at Lloyd’s side in a near instant, looking him over where he sits against the square unit, one arm bent around his torso.
Bleary eyed, Lloyd smiles at him. “Y-you made it.”
“’Course I did.” He resists the urge to yank his hair out, sinking his tooth into his cheek instead. There’s blood all over the concrete, a smudged handprint on the brick wall. Lloyd moves his arm so Kai can see, and from what he can tell, the wound’s still bleeding. His gi has a jagged rip going down, like the attacker cut into him before she got the leverage needed to sink the knife in deep.
Immediately, he presses his hand to it, making Lloyd flinch. He tries so hard to be calm, but he can’t get the terror out of his voice when he demands, “God, Lloyd, why’d you leave it like this?”
“M’sorry,” Lloyd groans in a cracking voice, slumping forward.
Kai puts his other hand on his shoulder, noticing the abandoned hood and gi sash wadded in soaked piles. Swallowing his nausea, he alternates brushing Lloyd’s arm and hair, saying, “No, it’s alright, okay? It’s gonna be fine. Nya’s already got an ambulance on the way. They’ll be here any minute.”
Shaking his head, Lloyd gasps, “Too late. T-they’re gonna be―” Suddenly distressed, he huffs and whines, “Kai…”
Kai nudges him upright. “What? Tell me.”
Lloyd’s head lolls to the side and back against the metal box before he pushes himself to lean over on his elbow, grimacing. He tugs the end of his gi aside, exposing the injury. It’s the way he pinches his brows and further labors his breathing, his expression miserably expectant as his neck gives out on him, tears and beads of sweat bouncing off his face from the movement. It says enough.
“N-no,” Kai croaks. Stronger, he says, “Lloyd, no, I can’t do that to you,” standing as he recoils.
“I-I’m gonna…bleed―” He winces, raggedly continuing, “Bleed out..i-if you don’t.”
Kai yanks on his hair anyway, but he glances back at Lloyd.
His dark circles stand out worse, a sunken mask on his paling face, and his eyelids droop despite how he’s fighting to keep them open. With the arm he’s propped on trying to shake out from under him, he’s almost lying down, each shallow pant pushing him lower bit by bit.
And now that Kai can see it, he’s losing too much blood. It’s just leaving him in small yet constant pulses, four black rivulets dripping down his stomach and adding to the puddle on the ground.
He’s right. Why does he have to be right?
Kai takes Lloyd’s weight off his arm, wrapping his under it and along to his little brother’s back, and gathers the green cloth there in his fist to keep it out of the way. “Just― just hold onto me, alright? Don’t let go.”
Lloyd nods. His arms come up around Kai’s torso and across his shoulder blades, squeezing with all the strength he’s got.
His right hand free, Kai closes his eyes and ignites it.
Or, he tries to. It doesn’t respond instantly like it should, only giving off smoke. The consequence of his own reluctance.
Sensing the hangup, Lloyd mutters, “I can…handle it..pro-promise.”
Kai inhales, letting the air out slow. “You better.” He snaps his wrist again, the fire lighting up the alleyway. For a few extra seconds, he makes it burn hotter than he usually needs before he pulls the flames down to a dull orange smoulder in his palm. “Ready? On three.”
He’s not ready, and Lloyd tenses, burying his face in Kai’s shoulder.
“One. Two…T-three.”
For the second time, Kai presses his hand on the wound.
As promised, mostly, Lloyd toughs it out at first. He keeps the pain deep in his throat, but eventually the groan turns shrill, and then he’s screaming and struggling not to writhe.
Kai wants to scream with him, but he won’t. Maybe he can’t either. All he can do is hold onto Lloyd tighter as he tries to block out the sound under his hand.
He turns his focus to how the muscles in his back seize around Lloyd’s fists from the energy he’s started channeling on agonized reflex. He gets kneed in the ribs, too, and he’d lose his grip if the slick blood wasn’t burned away.
Burned. Burning. He’s burning his baby brother.
Why didn’t he think to heat up a knife or something instead? Why’s he using his hand for it? Why’d he let Lloyd convince him to do this at all? He should’ve just carried him to the hospital on his dragon, or better yet, he never should have let any of this happen.
“I’m sorry,” Kai yells, screwing his eyes shut. Just a few more seconds, just enough to make sure it’s cauterized fully. He can’t risk messing up because if Lloyd has to suffer for nothing, then he―
Kai’s gonna―
Lloyd loses his strength to keep screaming, and then Kai’s muscles relax only a fraction when the scrabbling limbs behind him fall slack.
Enough. It has to be enough.
Ripping his hand away, he crushes Lloyd in both arms, unable to stop rocking him or repeating apologies. Not just for this. He’s sorry for everything ― the betrayal, the staff, for leaving and allowing so much time to go by that it ended up leading to now.
Lloyd probably can’t understand any of it. He just hiccups while he cries, slowly quieting until he’s too limp in Kai’s hold.
The paramedics find them like that, but they’re all strangers, and one of them talks to Kai while another tries to pry Lloyd away from him. He’s gonna blast them in their throats if they don’t shut up and stop and get their hands away.
But then the Bounty’s sailing overhead, and Nya’s getting through to him as Lloyd’s taken to someone who can actually help a hell of a lot better.
He clenches his fists the entire flight over to the hospital, refusing to look at his own hands.
~~~~~
Kai gets an earful later about how ‘incorrectly’ he handled the situation, and Master Wu adds ‘proper field medicine’ to their training schedule, but ultimately, everyone hugs him and cries and are so thankful he’d at least ‘been there to do something,’ and he doesn’t remember a whole lot of it.
He knows the others have been worried for him now, too, though.
He hasn’t been able to eat anything cooked if he’s around while it’s being prepared. Zane picks up on that in record time and starts making oatmeal and cold-cut sandwiches for him instead.
Cole and Jay learn real quick that if they ask Kai for help with fire-related needs, then his powers won’t respond. Fighting is the only thing it’s felt like doing, and fight it does. They steer clear of him when he goes out to the training yard.
Nya keeps looking at him with a face that’s so sad, like she wants to help him but doesn’t know how, he can’t help it. He retreats to his room and hides under the blanket for hours until the world stops spinning and he can breathe without needing to think about it.
But Lloyd heals fast, so there’s that.
The cops want to track down the people who attacked him, but he refuses to help, muttering something like, “She’s a mom.”
That doesn’t stop Kai from trying to find the woman himself, but he has nothing to go on, and the cops have better resources. They catch her pretty soon after that.
He does have the power to scare other Anacondrai wannabes into never showing their faces again. He gets another earful for that, but it’s worth it to rest at least a little easier.
Things get better after Lloyd comes home, where Kai can see him and be reassured.
He seems better, too. He spends more time with everyone, participates in conversations, and doesn’t run away from Kai anymore.
The thing is, Kai thinks he should. Especially now.
The heat index today’s like a hundred and ten degrees. It doesn’t really bother Kai, but the others already went inside after training as much as they can stand. Lloyd’s not done sparring, though. Said he feels like he fell behind and wants to keep going for another half hour.
But it’s still really hot out for him, so he’s folding his shirt and setting it on one of the benches before he heads back over to Kai to resume their match.
And Kai isn’t sure what he thought would be there. He knew Lloyd had to have been scarred, but he didn’t know. It didn’t occur to him at all how it’d look.
Under Lloyd’s ribs, close to his lower back, it’s a reddened, indistinct patch of burned scarring surrounding a handprint.
It looks like a violation, like a betrayal of Lloyd’s trust and Kai’s job as the Green Ninja’s protector.
He practically collapses as he sits down on the packed dirt. He waves his hand dismissively and pants, “I’m done,” when Lloyd looks at him, confused.
His confusion shifts to narrowed worry as he glances towards the scar. Carefully, he says, “You saved my life.”
Kai pulls his legs in, one hand on his thigh while the other scrapes at his forehead. “I know…I know.” He ends up ripping at his hair, closing his eyes tight. “It’s just. Everything. All of it.”
After a second, Lloyd’s kneeling in front of him. He’s put his shirt back on and has that stupid, sad face that’s gonna send Kai packing. But he can’t leave because Lloyd catches onto his shoulder and says, “You can’t hurt me, Kai.”
“But I―” Kai’s already pounding heart speeds up, making him dizzy, because he did. He let them shackle Lloyd and steal his power and drop poison on him, and he’s alone. He’s bleeding. Kai’s burning him, so who’s to say he would have dropped the staff? “I’m―”
“Hey,” Lloyd interjects, shaking him once. “You. Can’t. Hurt me. Alright?” He harshly emphasizes the words, except they’re gentle, kind, more than Kai deserves, but if he can still have conviction like that, then Kai can try to accept it.
Eventually.
His head bows. He can’t get his heart to stop demanding to fly out of his chest. It hurts, it hurts, he’s sinking, and he wants to hide because this feeling won’t go away out in the open.
“Look at me,” Lloyd says, a beacon of calm. “Just breathe. In and out. Copy me, okay?”
He does. He feels completely stupid because whatever’s wrong with him is nothing compared to what he put his little brother through, but he looks up and matches Lloyd’s exaggerated breaths.
Minutes go by as the world melts away and rebuilds itself enough to steady him, Lloyd’s presence somehow a foundation for it.
Swiping at his eyes, Kai nods when he’s fine. He huffs out a short laugh, asking, “S-someone teach you that?”
Lloyd gives him a hand up and mumbles, “Yeah. Um, Dad did.”
“Oh.”
The floodgates open with that. Kai listens while Lloyd talks about Garmadon for the first time since his funeral, the conversation leading to shared stories and lessons the man taught them both and on to experiences the ninja had with him before Lloyd got to meet him.
He does mess up again, really soon actually, but at least this time Lloyd knows someone’s coming to save him.
~~~~~
overuse of adverbs and unbroken dialogue signals that this is a ‘doodle’ lol
and because it is, i didn’t feel up to writing much more – i just want to point out here that lloyd absolutely does internalize the fact that he traumatized kai, so jot that down
"L-let me explain-" "There's nothing to explain anymore! You-you killed him! You're a monster!" Y/n's uncle cried out, his grip getting tighter. Sangwoo let out a small choked out noise from more pressure being added onto his neck. "That isn't y/n-!" He managed to let out, looking at y/n's uncle. Y/n's uncle didn't falter his grip. What, was he magically supposed to believe that wasn't y/n? It looked just like him! And as far as he knew, y/n practically never left the house! It was y/n, he was sure of it. Gi-hun quickly began to try and pull y/n's uncle off of Sangwoo. He couldn't just stand around and watch this happen. "Then who is it?!" He yelled at Sangwoo, soon thrown to the floor by Gi-hun. Sangwoo caught his breath and looked down at y/n's uncle. "A guard, from the games. I-I'll explain everything.."
"You can see our conversation here." Sangwoo handed the phone to y/n's uncle, watching him and Gi-hun read over the chat. Y/n's uncle shakily looked up at him with a worried look. "You-you mean they took him again-" Sangwoo nodded. "And sent someone who looked like him, so you wouldn't know they took him..?" He nodded again. "But that person looks exactly like y/n-" Sangwoo sighed and padded his foot on the ground, thinking back to how long he didn't notice that a total stranger pretending to be y/n was with him. "I know. That's why it took me so long to realize it wasn't y/n." He buried his head his hands. He felt so very guilty for not realizing it wasn't y/n. Gi-hun frowned and placed a hand on both of the men's backs. "It's alright Sangwoo, at least they aren't alive and can't manipulate you anymore.." He glanced at y/n's uncle who began silently crying, covering his mouth with one of his hands as he stared at a wall. "You're going to see him, right Sangwoo? Then-" "I'm going to fucking kill that stupid fucking Frontman." Sangwoo muttered out. Oh how badly he craved to do it. To see the same pain inflicted onto the Frontman. The level of pure and utter hatred he felt towards the man was almost unheard of, but that was the man that put him, y/n, Gi-hun, and y/n's uncle in so much pain and trauma. Of course he would feel this way. Of course he wanted to watch the Frontman die right infront of him, to see his disgusting face and the life slowly drift from his eyes. Sangwoo wanted it so bad.
Y/n grabbed his food from the guard, smiling. He said a quick thank you before walking back to his bed. He'd noticed most people were in either pairs or groups. He was the only one by themselves. He smirked. What idiots! In the games, you trust no one. It was like a built in rule! These were total strangers, ready to do anything to win all the prize money. Though the real winner could only win if they didn't have much drive for the money, but the drive for more games and to win. To see others fail and die before them, to make them feel accomplished and smarter than everyone else there. It's the feeling y/n craved. The craving of the perfect player.
In the end, they really just watched Netflix and relaxed. And whenever Sangwoo teased Y/N about it, Y/N would just shut him up with a kiss. At least he wasn't the only one blushing then. And later, when they laid in bed and cuddled, Y/N could not stop smiling. For the first time in his life, he had truly enjoyed his birthday. And if it would be like this every year, he would not mind at all.
"Thank you for today, it..really meant a lot.." Y/n smiled at Sangwoo. He'd finally had an actually nice birthday, where he didn't cry and feel like he didn't belong in the world. He felt loved, able to celebrate with people that loved him. Sangwoo smiled back and kissed his forehead. "I'm happy that you had a good day, I love you so much," Y/n snuggled closer. This is all he wanted for the rest of forever. In Sangwoo's arms, happy and content, safe, not in fear for his life. He'd just have to continue to fight to be able to try and have a semi normal life. "I love you too, more than anything."
Y/n slowly blinked, opening his eyes to see sunlight pouring into the room. He shifted and saw Sangwoo asleep next to him. He smiled. He'd rarely seen Sangwoo sleep. He looked so peaceful. Y/n snuggled closer to him, basking in his warmth. He'd began drifting back to sleep, though was snapped back to being fully awake when he felt Sangwoo moving around. "Mm..you awake?" He asked. Sangwoo let out a yawn and looked at y/n, curled at his side. He smiled tiredly. "How long have you been awake?" He asked. Y/n thought for a moment. "Only a few minutes..you're cute when you're asleep by the way." Sangoo pulled y/n closer and smiled at him, "You're much more cuter. And, since I wake up more earlier than you usually, I get to see you like that much more." Y/n groaned, stuffing his face into Sangwoo's chest.
