・❥・GENRE: Fluff

ੈ✩‧₊˚ WARNINGS: Nothing major again! Just someone being very drunk and In-ho being a shy cutie
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥SUMMARY: When In-ho finally gathers the courage to call you, you invite him to your workplace, a cozy bar. When he arrives, you both ease into light conversation, gradually learning more about each other. The atmosphere is relaxed until Eun-chan, a lively regular, jumps in to stir things up in his own way.

Tumblr media
IN-HO WAS SITTING ON HIS BALCONY, smoking a cigarette while he stared at his phone. Should I call her? In-ho sighed at the question he asked himself and took another drag of his cigarette. He thought back to yesterday when he met you in that small convenience store. You were so nice to him. Even while he was acting like a complete idiot, you still smiled at him and wanted to talk to him. And you even gave him your number in the end.
In-ho internally cursed himself for even thinking about calling you. “Don’t do it.” He muttered to himself as he pushed his cigarette out in the small ashtray before making his way back inside.
While In-ho was busy with contemplating whether or not he should call you, you were busy with your job.
“Good afternoon foreign girl” An older man said as he sat down at the the bar counter with a sigh. You looked over your shoulder at the man and a smile appeared on your face.
“Eun-chan, long time no see.” You giggled as you made a small bow with your head and grabbed a glass, ready to make his usual.
“Oh quiet.” Huffed Eun-chan with a slight smirk, knowing damn well that only 24 hours if not less had passed since you last saw each other at the bar.
To make ends meet you decided it would be best to get a job the moment you moved to Seoul. You tried applying to multiple jobs, but as it turned out, it was quite difficult to land a job as a ‘foreigner’. Luckily you stumbled upon a small bar not too far from your apartment where they were more than happy to welcome you in. You had worked there for 6 months now and it was honestly one of the best jobs you’ve ever had.
You had met so many people there. Some customers were nice, some were not, but you still ended up making a lot of new friends, including Eun-chan who was a man in his mid 60’s who visited the bar every day except during the weekends.
“Here you go sir.” You smiled as you placed the glass in front of him. You watched how Eun-Chan took the glass in his hands and took a big sip from it before placing it back on the counter.
“Amazing.” He said with a nod. “Glad to hear.” You said proudly before turning back to the task you were working on before your friend came in, cleaning dishes.
“Don’t you have any classes to go to?” You heard Eun-chan ask as he took another sip from his drink. You looked over your shoulder while shaking your head. “Nope. I don’t have any classes until next week.” You smiled softly.
Yes, besides working at the bar, you also attended university, in hopes of getting a degree in Asian literature.
Eun-chan nodded, “Ah of course, holidays.” You nodded along with him before turning off the tap. You turned back to where Eun-chan was sitting and cleaned the counter with a cloth.
Eun-chan lifted his glass the moment you reached his place and he quirked an eyebrow. “Something is going on with you.” He said bluntly, making you frown as you looked up at him. “What do you mean?” You laughed nervously.
“You seem different. Happy.” He said. “Happy?” You repeated softly. “Yes. More happy than usual. Don’t deny it.” Eun-chan said. “Mhmm interesting.” You chuckled while throwing the dirty cloth in the bin. You started looking around the bar and you soon realized that Eun-chan was your only customer at the moment.
“Are you going to tell me why?” He asked as he folded his arms on the surface in front of him. “Eun-chan!” You laughed while shaking your head.
Eun-chan was about to say something else until your phone went off. You grabbed your phone out of your back pocket and looked at the screen. A call.
By an unknown number.
“Who is it?” Asked Eun-chan, trying to look over the counter to see who it was. “I’m not sure.” You said slowly before pressing the answer button. Was it who you thought it was? Who you hoped it was?
“Hello?” You said while staring at Eun-chan. The man gave you a ‘who is it?’ Look which caused you to roll your eyes in a funny way.
“Hey….” A low voice on the other line said. You recognized that voice immediately. “In-ho?” You asked with a slight smile. “Yeah it’s me.” In-ho said awkwardly while clearing his throat.
“Who is it?” Whispered Eun-chan, craning his neck even more. “Shut up!” You whisper yelled at the man, causing him to grunt in annoyance while going back to his drink.
“Sorry?” Said In-ho carefully. “Oh sorry! I didn’t mean you! I was talking to a customer.” You quickly explained while turning around for a bit more privacy.
“A customer?” Questioned In-ho as he sat down on his couch, slightly panicking about the fact that he actually ended up calling you.
“Yeah i’m at work right now.” You said, trying not to smile. “Oh really? Where do you work?” Asked In-ho quietly.
“At a bar near my apartment,” you said, glancing over your shoulder at Eun-chan, who was now watching you like a hawk.
“A bar?” In-ho’s tone shifted slightly. “You serve drinks?”
“Yes, In-ho,” you said with a laugh, “I serve drinks. That’s usually what people do at bars.”
He laughed softly on the other end, the sound low and warm.
“Right. Makes sense.”
Did he just laugh? That is a first. You thought while smiling.
“So,” you teased lightly, “is this just a social call, or…?”
He hesitated again, and you could almost picture him running a hand through his hair. “Do you…have plans tonight?”
Your eyebrows shot up. “Are you asking me out, In-ho?”
“No!” he said quickly, his voice almost panicked. “I mean…not like that! I just…never mind.”
You laughed, enjoying his awkwardness. “Relax, I’m kidding. But, if you’re not busy, you should come by the bar. We’ve got a happy hour starting at eight.”
There was a pause, and for a moment, you wondered if you’d overstepped.
“Okay,” he said finally.
“Really?”
“Yeah,” he said more firmly. “I’ll come.”
Your grin widened. “Perfect. I’ll send you the address.”
“Okay.” Said In-Ho as a small smile appeared on his face. You and In-ho said your goodbyes to each other before hanging up.
“Who the hell was that? You were practically drooling the whole time!” Eun-chan said the moment your phone was back in your pocket. “That’s not true! You couldn’t even see my face!” You scoffed, shrugging it off.
“Come on girl, spit it out.” Eun-chan smirked, ignoring you as he leaned forward on the counter once again. “Eun-chan…” You sighed. “Please?” He asked while holding his hands together like he would during a prayer.
You thought about it for a moment before giving in. “Fine! But no talking in between.”
Eun-chan was grinning like a mad man. “Yes ma’am.”
While you started telling Eun-chan about how you met In-ho the day prior, In-ho was practically having a panic attack about what he had just said yes to.
He sat frozen on his couch, the phone still in his hand. He stared blankly at the floor, replaying the conversation in his mind. Why did I say yes? He hadn’t planned to agree, but somehow, when you laughed and spoke to him so easily, the word had just slipped out. Something about you unsettled him, but not in the way he was used to. It wasn’t fear or discomfort—it was something else. You were different. You didn’t treat him like a puzzle to be solved or a man to be avoided like he was used to. Instead, you spoke to him like he was…normal. And it honestly scared him. Why? Because he felt like he kept inching closer and closer to breaking that one promise he had sworn not to break.
To not fall in love again.
With a frustrated groan, he stood and rubbed his face. What the hell am I doing? He glanced at the clock and realized he had only a few hours before he had to leave. But then another problem hit him: What do I even wear to something like this?
Opening his closet, he stared at the neat rows of dark suits, shirts, and coats. Most of his wardrobe was functional, professional, clothing that didn’t draw attention. He ran a hand over the fabrics, frowning. None of this felt right for meeting you. He wanted to look like someone worth spending time with but not like he’d tried too hard. After several minutes of indecision, he pulled out a simple black button up shirt and jeans, tossing them onto the bed.
Staring at the clothes, he sighed again, pacing the room. Why am I even bothering? But no matter how much he tried to convince himself that it didn’t matter, there still was a small flicker of something deep inside him, curiosity, excitement, or maybe even hope. It had been so long since he felt anything like those things that it actually scared him.
To put it simply, In-ho was terrified.
—🌻—
“Here you go ma’am.” You smiled as you handed a customer her drink before going back to Eun-chan, who was still sitting at the counter.
“It’s quite busy eh?” Eun-chan said, looking around the place. You smiled while nodding. “I love working here when the place is filled with laugher and music.”
It was true. You always enjoyed evenings like these. Seeing all those people being happy and alive, engaging in conversations with each other, it made you feel good about yourself. It actually felt a lot like home. Sure sometimes it stressed you out, but luckily you weren’t alone anymore.
“All good?” Asked Ji-ho, holding his thump up as he handed another customer their drink. You smiled. “all good.” Ji-ho was a colleague and close friend of yours. You two had met on your first workday and hit it off immediately. You were really glad to have Ji-ho as your friend. He was always so kind and funny.
Ji-ho was actually supposed to have a day off today, but when you texted him, saying it was getting a little too busy, he was at the bar within the next 10 minutes. And that pretty much summed up what kind of person Ji-ho is.
“Is your date still coming?” He asked as he looked at Eun-chan before both breaking into a laughing fit.
You pursed your lips while turning to Eun-chan. “You told him!” The older man immediately held up his hands in defeat. “Well…no…It kind of just slipped out.”
You groaned at his response and shook your head. Ji-ho bumped his shoulder against yours while smiling. “Oh come on. It’s not that bad right?”
“It isn’t, because it’s not even a date!” You exclaimed rather loudly before walking away. “I’m going for a smoke.”
Both Eun-chan and Ji-ho watched as you disappeared down the hallway behind the counter, which led to the back of the building, before shrugging it off.
“I should’ve never told Eun-chan about In-ho.” You muttered to yourself as you pushed the back door open and went outside. You grabbed a cigarette from your pack and lit it up. You took a few drags of your cigarette and grabbed your phone from your pocket.
07:50
In-ho could be here any minute. If he hadn’t changed his mind. Am I nervous? You thought about it for a moment. When you met In-ho yesterday, you immediately noticed how handsome he was. Sure he was probably in his late forties or early fifties, but he was still a very attractive man. However that wasn’t the only thing that attracted you to him. When you had looked into his eyes yesterday, you saw something. What was it? Anger? Sadness? Loneliness? You couldn’t put your finger on it which only intrigued you more. Hence why you were rather surprised In-ho agreed to come to the bar. You really wanted to learn more about him, and you hoped that tonight would be the perfect opportunity to do so. Yes I’m definitely nervous. You realized as you threw out your cigarette before going back inside.
“Ji-ho i’m…” You stopped talking when your eyes fell on In-ho who was already seated at the counter.
Talking to Eun-chan.
Oh god…You quickly pulled yourself together before heading towards In-ho.
“There she is.” Grinned Eun-chan as he pointed his head in your direction. In-ho followed his gaze and soon his eyes met with yours.
“You came.” You said, sounding a bit surprised. “I told you I’d come.” In-ho said simply, trying his best to sound nonchalant. “Yeah I know…I just thought you would change your mind.” You chuckled while looking down.
In-ho made a small ‘oh’ sound as he stared at you. Shit what do I say now? He asked himself quickly. Lucky for him, you weren’t done talking.
“I’m glad you came In-ho.” You smiled while making eye contact again. In-ho tried to not show too much expression but failed, and miserably so. “Me too.” He said with a small smile.
What both of you didn’t know was that Eun-chan was grinning like a crazy man as he watched you two, clearly interested in whatever was going on between you and In-ho.
“So what can I get you?” You asked as you cleared your throat. “Whiskey would be good.” In-ho answered as he quickly looked down. “Do you have a specific Whiskey you’d like?”
In-ho shook his head. “Surprise me.”
“Okay.” You smiled as you got to work. Both In-ho and Eun-chan watched closely as you made his drink and you had to bite the inside of your cheek to keep you from laughing.
“Here you go.” You exclaimed proudly as you placed the Whiskey in front of In-ho. You watched closely as he took a sip from the glass before nodding his head in approval.
“Perfect.”
You made a small bow with your head before Ji-ho called you, needing you to help him with some customers. “I’ll be right back.” You said quickly before heading to Ji-ho.
“Take your time.” In-ho mumbled while taking another sip of his Whiskey. He tried not to look at you as you worked and Eun-chan noticed.
“She’s really pretty isn’t she?” He smirked slightly. In-ho followed his gaze to you and quickly looked away. “You don’t talk to a lot of women do you?” Asked Eun-chan as he noticed how uncomfortable In-ho seemed.
“Something like that.” In-ho sighed. Eun-chan chuckled and patted him on the shoulder.
Before In-ho could say anything else, you had returned to their side of the bar and leaned slightly forward.
“How was your day?” You asked, genuinely seeming to be interested. “It was fine, didn’t do much.” In-ho replied as he tried to get comfortable on his chair.
“No work?” You asked with a smile. “No I had a day off today.” In-ho said as he scratched his face.
“Where do you work?” Chimed Eun-chan in as he placed his chin in the palm of his hand.
In-ho awkwardly turned to Eun-chan and opened his mouth. “I work for a computer company. I mainly deal with network management”
“Here in Seoul?” You asked. In-ho nodded. “Yes the company is based here in the city but I work from home.” You nodded along with his words and smiled. “Sounds really interesting.”
Before In-ho could reply, Eun-chan let out a loud huff before getting on his feet. “I have to pee.” He muttered before blending in with all the people, heading towards the bathroom.
You shook your head at his words. “I think I should apologize for him in advance.” You joked. “He seems…nice.”
“He is! But sometimes he can be a bit….”
“Too much?” In-ho finished for you. You giggled while nodding. “Yeah that’s a good way to describe him.”
In-ho’s lips curled up in a smile. “Is he a regular here?” You hummed. “Yeah. Comes in every day except for the weekends.”
“Wow.” In-ho raised his eyebrows which made you chuckle. “For how long have you been working here?” He asked, slowly feeling a bit more comfortable in this situation.
You thought about his question for a moment. “For about six months? I started here pretty soon after I first arrived in the city.”
“Were you already in Korea before coming to Seoul?” You were pretty surprised at In-ho’s sudden will to talk, but you weren’t complaining.
This was when you opened up to In-ho about your life. You shared your reasons for moving to Korea, where you were originally from, stories about your friends and family, and even your hobbies. In-ho did his best to do the same, though he held back. He couldn’t risk saying too much—he didn’t want to scare you away. Besides, he wasn’t sure if he could trust you yet.
Still, you managed to learn a few things about him. He liked to read, especially classic literature. He had a soft spot for jazz, adored cats but didn’t own one, and enjoyed long walks. He smoked like a chimney—though so did you, so who were you to judge? His favorite drink was whiskey, which didn’t surprise you as you watched him down his glass with ease. Bit by bit, you pieced together little details about him, enough to intrigue you without revealing too much.
The evening passed by like a blur. You really enjoyed talking to In-ho. Sometimes you had to excuse yourself to serve some customers but In-ho didn’t mind. Those moments when you had to make drinks where the times where In-ho could breathe.
In-ho enjoyed talking to you too. You weren’t the only one who was intrigued. In-ho was fascinated by you. He didn’t know why or how, but he was determined to find out, eventually.
“Did you know that….that…ahem did you know that…”
Both you and In-ho turned to Eun-chan who was trying his best to stay upright.
“Eun-chan….” You sighed, already knowing what time it was. “I am not drunk!” Scoffed Eun-chan, knowing what you were thinking.
“Are you sure about that.” Grinned Ji-ho as he walked past. “Asshole.” Muttered Eun-chan while holding up his hand as if to hit someone.
Suddenly Eun-chan’s stair started to shake which led to him losing his balance. Lucky for him, In-ho who was still sitting next to him, was quick to hold him in place by grabbing him by the shoulders.
“Aye let go of me!” Demanded Eun-chan as he shrugged off In-ho’s hands.
“Eun-chan behave!” You scoffed as you sent him a glare. “It’s okay.” In-ho mumbled with a slight chuckle.
“Is it time to take him home?” Asked Ji-ho as he stood behind you with his hands on his hips.
“Yeah I think so…” You sighed while folding your arms. In-ho watched with curiosity as you disappeared into the small hallway to return with your coat in hand.
“I’m really sorry In-ho but I have to take him home.” You said, sounding a bit disappointed that you had to leave him.
In-ho’s eyes widened as he quickly got up from his chair. “I can go with you?” a smile appeared on your face as you put on your coat. “Oh no you don’t have to! Eun-chan’s house is pretty nearby.”
In-ho shook his head. “Still I don’t mind. I’ll go with you. If you will have me of course.” He said the last part a bit quiet, suddenly realizing that he was kind of intruding.
“Okay, thank you.” You smiled. You watched how In-ho grabbed his jacket from the back of his chair and put it on. “You don’t have to come back. You’ve worked long enough.” Whispered Ji-ho in your ear before disappearing to help a customer.
“Thank you.” You mouthed to him as he gave you a smile. Luckily the bar had calmed down for the most part. There were only fifteen people left which wasn’t a lot compared to earlier in the evening.
“Let’s go old man.” You smiled as you tapped Eun-chan on the shoulders. “Don’t!” You watched how Eun-chan muttered something under his breath before carefully getting up from his chair and heading towards the entrance of the bar.
“I am really sorry for this.” You sighed, looking at In-ho as you both followed after Eun-chan.
“Don’t be, it’s okay.” In-ho offered you a small smile as he held the door open for you so you could exit the bar.
“Do I really have to go home?” Pouted Eun-chan, looking at you with his big eyes. You chuckled. “Yeah. You’ve had enough to drink for tonight.” The old man groaned in annoyance and started walking in the direction of his apartment.
You and In-ho followed after him, both keeping an eye on the old man to make sure he didn’t trip over.
In-ho suddenly cleared his throat. You glanced at him with curiosity and saw how he opened his mouth. You thought he would say something, but he quickly closed his mouth again.
You tried to bit back your smile as you focused on your feet. “Does this happen a lot?” In-ho suddenly asked, motioning for Eun-chan who was trying his best to stay on his feet.
“Unfortunately, yes.” You answered with a chuckle. In-ho watched you closely. Before he could say anything else, you suddenly made a run for Eun-chan.
“Don’t fall!” You exclaimed loudly as you quickly grabbed Eun-chan by his arm, just moments before he would hit the ground.
“Let go of me you woman!” Eun-chan groaned in frustration. “Shut up!” You spat back with a roll of your eyes. You tried to keep Eun-chan standing but it seemed like he was too heavy for you.
“Here let me.” Said In-ho as he jogged towards the two of you. You watched how he grabbed Eun-chan’s other arm and wrapped it around his neck, taking the man from your hold as he leaned against In-ho.
“Thank you.” You breathed softly. At this point Eun-chan was a slurring mess. In-ho seemed to notice that you were about to apologize again, so he was quick to stop you.
“Don’t apologize again.” He said as he looked at you. You bit your lip as you tried to hide your smile.
“Sorry.” You giggled causing In-ho to give you a stern yet playful look. “Oh shut up.” You laughed as you motioned In-ho to follow you.
After 10 minutes of walking in a comfortable silence except for Eun-chan who sometimes muttered incoherent words, you arrived at his apartment.
“Eun-chan, your keys?” You asked as you looked at the man who was still being hold up by In-ho. “Left pocket.” He grunted.
You sighed as you slid your hand into the left pocket of his coat. You found his keys and turned around to open his door.
You stepped into his small apartment and watched how In-ho and Eun-chan stumbled in after you.
“His bedroom is over there.” You said as you pointed at the back of the hallway. In-ho nodded and headed towards the bedroom.
You followed after them and soon enough Eun-chan was being pushed into his bed by the both of you.
“Get some sleep okay?” You told him as you placed the sheets over his body. “Yeah whatever.” Grunted the old man as he turned around so his back was facing you.
You gave him one last pat on his shoulder before pulling In-ho with you. You left the apartment and locked the door before placing the keys under the doormat.
“He will know where to find them tomorrow.” You told In-ho as he gave you a confused look.
”Shall we go?” You asked softly. In-ho nodded and together the two of you left his apartment complex. When the two of were back on the street you cleared your throat.
“So…”
“Are you hungry?” In-ho asked suddenly. Your head snapped up at his question. “Yeah kinda.” You answered quietly.
“Well let’s go then.” In-ho said as he pulled on the sleeve of your coat, pulling you with him.
“Wait, where are we going?” you asked with a soft chuckle, trying to keep up with In-ho’s pace. He glanced over his shoulder, his expression calm but unreadable. “To get something to eat. You must be starving after your shift,” he said simply before turning his gaze back to the street ahead.
What the hell? you thought, your curiosity piqued as you let him guide you. The two of you walked in comfortable silence for about six minutes until you arrived at a small diner, its neon sign flickering softly against the night sky.
In-ho held the door open for you, and as you stepped inside, the warmth of the diner and the quiet hum of life inside wrapped around you. Something about this felt… different. As you glanced at In-ho, whose face softened under the warm glow of the lights, you couldn’t help but wonder what you were walking into—not just the diner, but with him.
And maybe, just maybe, you were ready to find out.

“SWEETHEART ARE YOU ALMOST READY?” You heard Gi-hun ask from the living room, probably waiting for you. You took one last glance at yourself through the mirror before heading towards the living room, feeling uneasy.
Gi-hun knew you like the back of his hand, so he was rather quick to notice that something wasn’t quite right.
“Is everything okay love?” He asked softly while scanning your face as you slowly shook your head. “Oh baby, come here.” He motioned for you to join him on the couch which you did.
“Talk to me sweetheart.” He gently pushed a strand of hair behind your ear as you felt tears forming in the corner of your eyes.
“I just don’t feel good today.” You admitted quietly while looking at Gi-hun. He saw how a single tear fell from your eyes and his heart broke.
“Come here.” He said as he grabbed your hips, careful not to hurt you as he helped you onto his lap. “What’s bothering you my love?” Gi-hun asked while wiping away the fallen tears.
At first you shrugged, not knowing how to tell Gi-hun how you felt. So instead you just hid your face in his neck. “It’s okay take your time.” He reassured you while drawing circles on your back to comfort you, knowing that in these moments you liked to be touched.
“I don’t like the way I look today.” You admitted after a moment of silence. Gi-hun raised one of his eyebrows as he stilled his hand on your back. “And why is that?” He asked softly.
You took a moment to gather yourself before pushing back so you could look at Gi-hun. “Do you think i’m too fat or not beautiful enough for you?” You asked him suddenly. Gi-hun’s eyes widened at your question.
“Just be honest please.” You begged as you stared at him with your big teary eyes. Gi-hun honestly thought that his heart just broke again at seeing you so vulnerable.
“Sweetheart…” Gi-hun sighed as his hands found your hips, softly massaging your skin as he stared at you.
“Tell me...” You mumbled, avoiding eye contact. Gi-hun licked his lips while looking at you. “No sweetheart, I do not think that you are too fat or not beautiful enough.”
Gi-hun noticed that you still weren’t looking at him so he gently grabbed your chin and turned your face back to him.
“Baby look at me.” Gi-hun murmured, still seeing how you looked everywhere except at him.
When your eyes finally met his, Gi-hun was quick to place a kiss on your forehead. “Baby listen, you are beautiful. Do you hear me? Beautiful. You’re the most gorgeous woman i’ve ever laid my eyes on. And that’s not all! Besides being so beautiful, you’re also kind, funny, sweet and the way you care about other people is just amazing. And don’t even let me get started on the way you get along with my daughter. Sweetheart you are literally the light of my life. Beautiful from the outside and the inside. So no, I don’t think you are too fat or not beautiful enough. Besides I love your curves. They make you so much more sexier than you already are. It’s like I can’t even control myself when I look at them.”
“Gi-hun!” You gently hit his shoulder making him laugh. “I’m serious baby.” Gi-hun smiled while giving your hips a little squeeze.
It was quiet for a moment, both you and Gi-hun thinking about your conversation until you cleared your throat.
“Thank you for reassuring me.” You muttered while laying your head on his shoulder. “You don’t have to thank me for doing that sweetheart. It’s my task to make you feel beautiful and sexy and uh…did I already say beautiful?” Gi-hun smirked, making you laugh.
“I love you baby.” You sighed, pushing yourself back so you could look at Gi-hun’s adorable face. “I love you too sweetheart, more than words can tell.”
Gi-hun wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you back into his chest. “Let’s stay home alright?” He said in your ear.
You gave him a small nod and closed your eyes, already comfortable with your head back on his shoulder.
The rest of the evening unfolded like a dream, wrapped in each other’s arms, you shared quiet moments watching movies, laughed over board games, and let passion take over as Gi-hun made love to you with tender devotion. He ensured every touch, every word, reminded you how deeply loved and beautiful you truly were.

˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥SUMMARY: A story where In-ho falls in love with a girl who makes him feel alive again after he had sworn to himself to never love again.
Next part
Tumblr media
IN-HO WAS IN LOVE. It felt strange, almost absurd. Love had been a foreign concept to him for so long, buried under years of bitterness and regret. After everything that happened with his wife, he had promised himself he would never feel that way again. Not for anyone. Love, he decided, was a weakness, a fissure in the armor he had painstakingly built around himself.
When his wife died, it shattered more than just his faith in relationships. It destroyed his faith in humanity as a whole. The games had only made his belief stronger that people were selfish creatures at their core, willing to do anything, betray anyone for survival. He had seen it all firsthand. desperation turning to violence, trust changing into treachery, and the raw, primal instincts that stripped people of their masks. He’d grown numb to it, the horror no longer shocking him, the blood no longer making him flinch. If love once held the power to warm him, it now only served as a warning tale, a reminder of how deeply pain could cut when you let someone in.
So he threw himself fully into the games, immersing himself in their structure and chaos, their cruel order. He told himself he had no room for anything else, no capacity for emotions beyond the cold logic of running the games. It was easier that way, easier to stay distant, detached, and invulnerable. Love was a distraction, and distractions were dangerous in his world.
That was until you entered his life.
Every wall he had built around himself crumbled the moment he laid his eyes on you and he hated it. He hated every little second of it. But what could he do? You were so kind and sweet.
It all started when In-ho returned to Seoul after the 33rd edition of the games was over. First he dropped Seong Gi-hun off somewhere on a sidewalk before he ordered the guard who was driving to drop him off at his apartment.
He was actually dreading to go back home. If he could even call it a ‘home’. He’d much rather stay on the island, but he was forced to go back to Seoul by his boss, Oh Il-nam.
The moment he stepped into his apartment, his heart ached. He tried his best to stay calm as he wandered around the small living space. After his wife died, he moved to a much smaller apartment, not seeing the need of having a bigger place for just himself.
When he walked into the kitchen, he realized that he needed to go grocery shopping as everything he had in his kitchen, had turned bad.
With a sigh he walked back to the front door. He checked if he had his wallet and keys before leaving the apartment.
While heading towards the store In-ho felt empty. He actually felt like he wasn’t alive. Nothing mattered to him anymore. Especially now he was away from the island.
He decided to go to a convenience store nearby as it was already well past midnight. In-ho groaned when he was met with the bright lights of the store as he walked towards the food section.
“Oh come on!”
In-ho looked up. He scanned his surroundings until his eyes fell on a woman trying to reach for something on the highest shelf. It was you.
“Why do i have to be so damn short!” You groaned to yourself while standing on your tippy toes. You were already standing on an empty crate, but you still couldn’t reach the top.
In-ho wanted to look away, but something about you pulled him in. Until he realized that you were staring at him.
“Hey sir? Would you mind helping me?” You asked while trying one more time to reach those instant noodles you so desperately craved.
You watched how the man quickly looked down. He tried to look busy, scanning some products with his eyes before grabbing a lollipop. You could see how the man internally cursed himself for grabbing such a random object.
“I know you heard me.” You said softly, not sounding at all angry. The man sighed to himself before making eye contact again.
“I’m really sorry for bothering you, but I really want those noodles and I can’t reach them. Would you be so kind to help me?” You asked with a slight smile.
In-ho wanted to walk away. But he didn’t. He couldn’t. He cleared his throat, placed the lollipop back and walked towards you. “Which one do you want?” He asked while looking at the top shelf.
“That one please.” You pointed at the noodles you wanted and In-ho nodded, grabbed them and handed them to you. “Here you go.” In-ho tried to avoid making eye contact, but he failed when he accidentally looked into your eyes to see you giggling.
“You are really bad at this aren’t you?” You smiled as In-ho awkwardly stood in front of you. “At what?” He asked gruffly. “At being around other people, let alone helping them.” You said softly.
In-ho scoffed and looked away. You tried to hold back your smile as you jumped down the crate you were standing on. In-ho didn’t want to look, but he did. Even when you were standing on the crate, you were still a good amount shorter than him, but now that you were just standing on the floor, the difference only got bigger.
“Well thank you sir for helping me.” You gave In-ho one last smile before heading towards the cashier. In-ho blinked a few times before shrugging it off. He quickly grabbed the items he wanted before following after you.
Why did he feel the need to follow you?
When it was his turn to pay, you were already outside. You were trying to light a cigarette but your lighter wouldn’t work.
A small smile crept onto In-ho’s face as he looked at you and he hated every second of it.
Nonetheless, he was quick with paying for his groceries before walking out of the store. In-ho carefully took a few steps towards you, reaching in his pocket to pull out his own lighter.
“Here.” He said as he held the lighter in front of him. You quickly looked up to see the man again. You looked at his face and then at his hand.
“Thank you.” You said as you grabbed the lighter to light up your cigarette. “It’s nothing.” In-ho mumbled as he grabbed a pack of cigarettes out of his other pocket.
You handed the lighter back and watched how he used it to light his own cigarette before putting the lighter back in his pocket.
It was quiet for a moment. Both not really knowing what to say until you cleared your throat.
“My name is [Y/N].”
In-ho’s eyebrows shot up as he looked at you. Why would she introduce herself to me?
Suddenly he realized that you were staring at him, waiting for him to introduce himself as well.
“My name is In-ho.” He said awkwardly while scratching the back of his neck. “Well nice to meet you In-ho.” You smiled as you took a drag from your cigarette.
As In-ho looked at you for a moment, he suddenly realized that he didn’t feel so empty anymore. Was it you that did that? It had to be, what other reason did he have?
“You seem to be deep in thought.” You giggled. In-ho glanced at you which made you smile even more.
“God I thought that I was awkward!” You laughed. In-ho shot you a glare but when he saw you laughing he couldn’t help but crack a slight smile. And you noticed.
“Wow you can smile!” You joked making In-ho roll his eyes. He watched how you threw your cigarette on the ground and stood on it.
“Well I guess I wil see you around, In-ho.” You said softly as you started to head home. “Wait!” In-ho internally cringed at himself for saying something.
You turned around and looked at him. In-ho sighed before speaking. “It’s dangerous to walk alone this late.” He commented, causing you to smile. “Don’t worry, i’ve done it before.”
Why does she have to be so stubborn? In-ho thought to himself. “Let me walk with you.” You seemed surprised by his words and so did he. Why did i say that? “I was going to head that way anyway.” A lie. If In-ho wanted to go home, he actually needed to go in the opposite direction you were heading for. But you didn’t have to know that.
“If that’s true, then sure why not.” You said with a slight shrug and smile. In-ho threw his cigarette away as well and followed after you.
“You didn’t grow up here did you?” In-ho suddenly asked. You looked at your feet and smiled.
“Is it that noticeable?” You asked softly. In-ho lifted his shoulders and let out a deep breath. “You have a slight accent when you speak Korean.”
“Oh…” You said quietly, not sure of what to say now. In-ho quickly tried to think of something to say, not wanting you to feel uncomfortable. So without thinking he said,
“I think it’s rather cute.”
Fuck. Thought In-ho the moment those words left his mouth. Your head shot up at his remark and In-ho quickly looked away.
“I mean…” In-ho stopped talking when he heard you laughing. He slowly turned his face towards you. “You are really, really bad at this.”
In-ho tried his best not to smile, why would he? He had not one reason in his life to smile right now. But somehow he just couldn’t help the way his lips moved on it’s on into a small smile. For a second time! What was happening to him?
“Here this way.” You said as you tugged on In-ho’s sleeve, pulling him into a small alleyway that led to your apartment building.
In-ho let himself be pulled by you and soon enough the two of you had arrived at your apartment.
“Can I have your phone?” You asked suddenly. In-ho raised his eyebrows while giving you a questioning look.
“Please.” You smiled. In-ho didn’t want to give his phone to you. So he had no idea how it ended up in your hands. Did I really just gave her my phone?
You held his phone in front of his face to unlock it and immediately went to his contacts. In-ho watched how you clicked on ‘add a new contact.’ He saw how you wrote down your number and added your name at the top.
Then he watched with wide eyes how you handed him his phone back. “Give me a call sometime.” You smiled at him. In-ho said nothing.
“Thank you for walking me home, In-Ho.” Was all you said before entering your apartment complex, leaving In-ho outside at a loss for words.
“What the...” He mumbled as he suddenly came to his senses and looked down at his phone, staring at your number.
He wasn’t going to call you. He didn’t want to. What would even be the point? He didn’t want friends and he sure as hell didn’t want to fall in love. He had sworn that to himself.
But then why the hell did he call you the next day?

・❥・GENRE: Smut & Fluff
˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆FANDOM: Squid Game
ੈ✩‧₊˚ WARNINGS: Smut, 18+, piv, oral (F receiving), soft smut, very short mention of choking, Gi-hun being an absolute sweetie
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥SUMMARY: After surviving a number of games already, you are tired and want to go home which you know you can’t, but luckily Gi-hun is there to take care of you .
Tumblr media Tumblr media
YOU LET OUT A loud sigh for probably the 100th time that evening as you roll onto your other side, trying to get comfortable in your bunk bed.
“Why can’t I just fall asleep?” You murmur, slowly sitting up right while looking around the room.
Your eyes fall on Young-il, Dae-ho, Jung-bae and Jun-hee who are all soundlessly asleep. Then your eyes fall on Gi-hun who is guarding your self made bunker.
Slowly and carefully, you slip out of bed and head for Gi-hun, sitting down next to him without saying anything.
Gi-hun turns his head to look at you and he can’t help but feel bad when he sees the tiredness on your face. Why is she awake? She should be sleeping.
As if you heard Gi-hun’s thoughts, you turn to face him. “I can’t sleep.” Gi-hun gives you a slight nod before going back to staring ahead of him.
“I’m sorry that I failed to get you out of here.” His voice breaks a little and you notice it immediately. “Don’t. You did your best. If these pigs want to stay to earn their money, let them. Sooner or later they will realize how stupid it was to vote for continuing the games. Half of them won’t even make it until the end.” You scoff at the last part which makes Gi-hun look at you again.
You had met Gi-hun on the first day of being in this hell hole. He had helped you cross the finish line during Red light, Green light. And since that moment you stuck by him, forever grateful that he saved you just seconds before the timer ran out.
When he told everyone that he had played these games before, you were shocked. Why would anyone ever return to here out of free will? Gi-hun explained everything to you. About how he joined the games to pay all of his debts. He told you about the games he played and about the people he lost during them. He also told you how his childhood friend ended his life so Gi-hun could live and get the money. In the end Gi-hun had told you that he came back for a reason. He wanted to end these horrific games, even if it meant his death.
So you joined his team. Not only because you stood behind Gi-hun’s way of thinking, but also to protect him. And he did the same for you.
Gi-hun had grown quite fond of you. He had this urge to protect you and help you with everything he could. He was always worried about you during the games. Especially during Mingle. During one of the first rounds, he lost sight of you and when he heard the ringing of the gunshots from the small room he was in, he couldn’t help but look if one of the fallen bodies were yours. Luckily that was not the case.
The moment the doors opened, you sprinted towards Gi-hun. “you’re alive!” Gi-hun beamed as he pulled you into a tight embrace. “I’m sorry.” You mumbled against his chest.
“Shh don’t apologize, it’s okay. I’m just glad that you’re alive.” Gi-hun reassured you. From that moment on Gi-hun did not once let go of you during remaining time of the game.
“I promise I will get you out of here.”
You look up from your feet to see Gi-hun staring at you. You give him a weak smile before laying your head on his shoulder.
“Please don’t die Gi-hun.” You say weakly. “I’m not planning to.” Gi-hun smiles softly.
“Ahem.”
Both you and Gi-hun turn around to see Young-il standing there. “You two should head to bed. It’s my time to guard anyway.” He says while scratching the back of his neck.
Gi-hun nods and gets back on his feet. He holds out his hand for you to take it, which you do and he helps you back on your feet as well.
“Good night you two.” You hear Young-il say as you head towards your bed, still holding Gi-hun’s hand.
“Gi-hun?” you say softly. “Yes?” He questions while looking at you.
“Could you…could you sleep next to me tonight. I really don’t want to be alone.”
Gi-hun’s heart practically melts upon hearing your words so he nods his head with a kind smile on his face.
He watches how you get ‘comfortable’ in your bunkbed before he joins you. “Are you sure this is okay?” Gi-hun asks as he awkwardly tries not to touch you, afraid he might cross your boundaries.
“It’s okay.” You reassure him while looking at him. Gi-hun’s breathing hitches in his throat as he looks at you. You are so beautiful and kind. You don’t belong here.
“What are you thinking about?” You wonder. Gi-hun just blinks at you. “May I kiss you?” He suddenly asks.
You are a bit taken aback by his question but you nod nonetheless. It’s not like you haven’t thought about it yourself.
“Yes you may.” You smile as both you and Gi-Hun inches closer to each other.
Gi-hun gently places his hand on your cheek before colliding his lips with yours. It’s a passionate kiss, both wanting to feel the other as close as possible.
You immediately kiss back as your hands make their way to Gi-hun’s hair. A small moan slips past his lips as you gently tug on his locks.
He breathes your name and it sounds so beautiful coming from his lips.
“Gi-hun…” You look into his eyes and you see that they are filled with love and sadness, and maybe even anger. But still he kisses you with the upmost gentleness, afraid he might hurt you accidentally.
“I need you.” You whisper and it doesn’t take long for Gi-hun to be on top of you. He leans on his arms which are placed on either side of your face as he looks down at you.
“You are so pretty Gi-hun.” You smile while softly caressing his cheek. Gi-hun can only smile at your words until he feels your hand in his pants.
“A-are you sure?” He asks quickly. “Only if you are. I want you to be comfortable too.” You explain him while placing a kiss to his cheek.
“I’m comfortable. Gi-hun breathes carefully. “Then i am too.” You slip your hand into Gi-hun’s boxers and carefully wrap your finger’s around his cock.
“Oh fuck…” Gi-hun moans softly while hiding his face in your neck. You begin to pump your hand up and down his cock while Gi-hun is placing wet kisses along your jawline.
“It feels so good.” He says before kissing you again. “Good.” You mumble against his lips with a smile.
You feel Gi-hun grinding against your hand as a way to tell you he needs more.
You want to pull his pants down but he stops you. “Not yet.” You watch with confusion as Gi-hun taps your hips as a way to tell you to lift them up.
The moment you do, Gi-hun slides your sweatpants down and settles between your legs. You watch how he places soft kisses along the insides of your thighs before pressing a kiss to your clit.
“May I?”
“Yes please.” You breathe. Gi-hun smiles before pulling your panties to the side. He carefully spreads your lips and dives in.
“O-oh god!” You moan, immediately putting your hand over your mouth as you feel Gi-hun’s tongue between your folds.
Gi-hun stares up at you with his big puppy eyes while licks at your clit. You try your best to stay still but when you feel two of his fingers entering your pussy, you just can’t.
“Fuck Gi-hun!” You whisper as you clamp your hand down in his hair.
“You taste so good sweetheart. I just can’t get enough of it.” Gi-hun smiles, his face covered in your juices as he keeps licking your pussy.
“Gi-hun I can’t! I’m close.” You moan while bucking your hips. “Then let go for me love.” He murmurs with a lazy grin, still focused on your pussy.
You are immediately sent over the edge as you cover Gi-hun’s face in your juices. You can feel Gi-hun licking up every drop until his face is on your eye level again.
“How did that feel love?” he asks while pushing a strand of hair behind your ear. “Amazing.” You breathe with a slight chuckle.
“Is it now my turn to make you feel good?” You ask in a seductive tone. Gi-hun clears his throat as he nods, suddenly feeling shy.
“Come on now, don’t be shy baby.” You place a gentle kiss on his lips as you push him off of you, telling him to lay down on his back for you.
Once Gi-hun is settled, you straddle his lap, both hissing when his cock makes contact with your pussy.
“Is this okay?” You ask Gi-hun while playing with his hair. “Y-yes.” He stammers. “Relax baby.” You chuckle as you kiss his cheek.
Gi-hun watches how you grab his cock and align it with your pussy before slowly sliding down, making both you and Gi-hun moan as he grips the sheets in his fists.
“You feel amazing sweetheart.” Gi-hun whimpers, placing both of his hands on your hips, slowly guiding you up and down his cock.
“I can say the same about you.” You moan while steadying yourself with placing one hand on his chest.
Gi-hun watches how you bounce on his cock, trying his best not to make too much noise, but boy is it hard.
Every time you bounce on his cock he wants to scream out, letting everyone know how good you make him feel, but he knows he can’t, so he bites his lip instead.
“You’re so good to me Gi-hun.” You moan while leaning forward so you can kiss his neck.
“Oh baby…” He groans while digging his fingers into your sides. “Stay like this okay.” He whispers in you ear before starting to thrust up into you.
Your eyes roll to the back of your head as you bite down onto Gi-hun’s shoulder to keep you from making any noise.
“Oh fuck you feel so good baby. So tight and warm, i can stay like this forever.” Gi-hun moans as his thrusts get harder and deeper.
“Gi-hun…” You whimper. “What is it love?” He asks immediately. “Kiss me.” You demand with a slight moan.
“Yes ma’am.” Gi-hun smiles before pulling you into a kiss. You both moan against each other’s mouth while you meet Gi-hun’s thrusts with your own.
“I’m close sweetheart.” Gi-hun breathes while looking at you. “M-me too.” You say while unconsciously wrapping your hand around his throat.
Gi-hun’s eyes widen at the feeling and he can’t help but go even harder now.
“Gi-hun i’m s-so close!” You whisper in his ear while tightening your hold on his throat.
“Come for me baby.” Gi-hun groans. “Be a good girl.” At hearing those words slip from Gi-hun’s lips, you can’t hold it in anymore.
Gi-hun is quick to cover your mouth with his hand as you come onto his cock, soaking it with your juices.
“Fuck that’s it.” Moans Gi-hun before spilling inside of you. You let out a soft whimper as you feel him fill you up with his cum.
“Gi-hun….” you sigh as you collapse on top of him. Suddenly you become aware of your hand being wrapped around his throat so you immediately let go.
“Oh my god i am so sorry.” You quickly apologize, but Gi-hun is quick to shut you up with a kiss.
“Don’t. I liked it.” He smiles. “Really?” You ask surprised. Gi-hun immediately nods. “You should definitely do it more often.”
You and Gi-hun stare at each other before bursting into a fit of laughter.
“Shh!” You laugh as you cover Gi-hun’s mouth with your hand while he does the same with you.
It’s suddenly very quiet as both you and Gi-hun calm down from your highs.
“Thank you.” You suddenly say. “For what?” Gi-hun asks as he pulls you into his chest.
“For being there for me.”
Gi-hun can’t help but smile as he gently ruffles your hair. He places a soft kiss on the top of your head before closing his eyes.
“You don’t have to thank me sweetheart. Now get some sleep, you deserve it.”
“Will you stay here with me?” You ask as you look up at him. Gi-hun smiles, his eyes still closed.
“Of course love, i am not going anywhere.”

♡˗ˏ✎*ೃ˚ : SAVE IN HIS ARMS : :;
╰┈➤ ❝ [PAIRING] ❞ Hwang In-ho x F!Reader
・❥・GENRE: Fluff and slight angst?
˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆FANDOM: Squid Game
ੈ✩‧₊˚ WARNINGS: None!
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥SUMMARY: In the chaos of the third game, you were trampled and left helpless—until In-ho found you. Carrying you to safety, he calmed your panic, proving you weren’t alone.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
YOU’D THOUGHT THE FIRST GAME WAS BAD—Red Light, Green Light with its chilling, mechanical doll and the blood-curdling sound of gunshots that had followed anyone who dared to move at the wrong time. The sight of so many bodies dropping like flies was forever burned into your memory. But you had made it through, sticking close to In-ho and a few other players who seemed capable of keeping their cool under pressure.
The second game, Six Legs, had pushed you even closer to the edge. Six people tied together by the ankles, forced to move as one cohesive unit while completing a series of absurd mini-games. The first challenge involved a game of Ddakji, followed by Flying stone, Gong-gi, Spinning top and at last Jegi. Every challenge was absolutely nerve wracking. Every stumble risked pulling the entire group down.
“Stop panicking,” In-ho had said sharply when it was your turn to play Gong-gi. His tone was firm but not unkind, and his steady grip on your arm had kept you from collapsing altogether.
“I’m trying,” you’d whispered, your voice barely audible over the yelling of other groups.
“You’ll be fine,” he had replied, glancing at you with those piercing eyes. “Just focus on me.”
It was his calm presence that had carried you through. Somehow, your group had made it out alive, but not without leaving a part of your sanity behind.
Now, the third game was underway, and the tension was unbearable.
The platform beneath your feet spun relentlessly, the dizzying motion making it hard to stay upright. The eerie song blaring over the speakers didn’t help; its cheerful notes felt like a cruel joke, mocking your desperation.
You clung to the rail for balance, your eyes scanning the crowd for In-ho. He stood a few feet away, his tall, composed frame unshaken by the platform’s motion. Gi-hun, Jung-bea, and Dea-ho were close by, the four of them keeping together in a loose cluster. You tried to move toward them, but the spinning platform made every step feel like a gamble.
Finally, the music stopped.
The platform jolted to a halt, nearly sending you to your knees. The sudden silence was deafening, broken only by the sound of heavy breathing and shuffling feet.
“Two,” the woman’s voice announced over the speakers, detached and emotionless.
For a moment, there was silence as the words registered. Then chaos erupted. Players screamed, shoving and clawing at one another in their desperation to find a partner.
You stumbled forward, trying to push your way through the throng of bodies. “In-ho!” you called out, your voice trembling with panic.
Through the chaos, you caught a glimpse of him, his sharp gaze scanning the crowd. He was moving toward you, his path deliberate, but the surging mass of players made it nearly impossible to reach him.
“Time is running out. Please form your groups,” the woman’s voice droned on, unbothered by the chaos.
Someone slammed into you from behind, sending you sprawling to the ground. Your palms scraped against the rough surface of the platform, and a sharp pain shot through your ankle as someone stepped on it in their frantic rush.
You cried out, clutching your leg as tears blurred your vision. The crowd swirled around you, an unrelenting tide of fear and desperation.
Just as despair began to set in, a hand grabbed yours—strong and familiar.
“In-ho,” you gasped, relief flooding through you as he pulled you upright.
His face was etched with determination, his dark eyes scanning you quickly. “Can you stand?” he asked, his voice low but urgent.
“I—I don’t think so,” you stammered, clutching your throbbing ankle. “I can’t run.”
He didn’t hesitate. Without another word, he scooped you into his arms, holding you against his chest as though you weighed nothing. “Hold on,” he said firmly, his tone leaving no room for argument.
Your arms wrapped around his neck as he carried you through the chaos. The timer on the wall ticked down mercilessly, but In-ho moved with precision, weaving through the panicked players with ease.
“In-ho, what about the others?” you asked, your voice trembling.
“They’ll manage,” he replied curtly. His focus was entirely on you, his grip on you steady despite the chaos around him. “Right now, I’m getting you to safety.”
The sound of footsteps and shouting grew louder as players scrambled to find rooms, but In-ho didn’t falter. He pushed through the crowd, heading for an empty room just as the timer reached zero.
The door slammed shut behind you, sealing you off from the madness outside. The sound of gunshots echoed through the arena, each one sending a fresh wave of terror through you.
In-ho set you down gently on the floor, his hands lingering on your arms as he crouched in front of you. “Are you hurt anywhere else?” he asked, his voice softer now.
You shook your head, but the tears wouldn’t stop. “I almost died,” you whispered, your voice breaking.
“But you didn’t,” he said firmly. His hands cupped your face, his touch grounding you. “You’re safe now.”
The weight of his words brought a fresh wave of tears, and you buried your face in your hands, your shoulders shaking as you sobbed.
“I can’t do this,” you choked out. “I can’t—”
“Hey,” In-ho interrupted, his voice calm but commanding. He gently pulled your hands away from your face, forcing you to meet his gaze. “Look at me. Breathe.”
“I—I can’t,” you stammered, your chest heaving.
“Yes, you can,” he said firmly. He took one of your hands and pressed it against his chest. “Feel that? Match your breathing to mine.”
You closed your eyes, focusing on the steady thrum of his heartbeat beneath your palm. Slowly, your breaths began to sync with his, the tightness in your chest easing bit by bit.
“There you go,” he murmured, his thumb brushing away the tears on your cheek. “You’re okay. I’ve got you.”
You nodded weakly, your tears slowing as his presence calmed you. “Thank you,” you whispered, your voice barely audible.
In-ho’s expression softened, and for a moment, the hardness in his eyes gave way to something warmer. “You don’t need to thank me,” he said quietly. “I told you—I won’t let anything happen to you.”
For the first time since the games began, you felt a glimmer of hope. In his arms, amidst the terror of the arena, you felt something you hadn’t dared to feel in days: safe.

♡˗ˏ✎*ೃ˚ : IN SICKNESS AND IN CARE : :;
╰┈➤ ❝ [PAIRING] ❞ Logan Howlett x F!Reader
・❥・GENRE: Fluff :))
˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆FANDOM: X-Men
ੈ✩‧₊˚ WARNINGS: Literally none!
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥SUMMARY: When you catch a cold and try to hide it to avoid being a burden, Logan quickly notices you're not your usual sunny self. Despite your protests, he steps in to take care of you, showing a softer side as he insists you don't have to carry everything alone. In Logan's gruff but tender way, you learn that even the strongest need someone to lean on sometimes.
Based on this request.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THE COOL AIR THAT DRIFTED THROUGH THE MANSION WAS A PLEASANT REPRIEVE FROM THE USUAL HEAT OF THE DAY, but for some reason, it didn’t quite feel the same. You rubbed your arms, a shiver crawling down your spine. Your normally sunny disposition felt dimmed, and no amount of fake smiles seemed to mask how off you were feeling. Logan had already given you a curious glance at breakfast when you didn’t chatter on about your plans for the day.
He wasn’t the kind of man to prod too much. That wasn’t his style. But as the day dragged on, and you avoided him during training, kept quiet during the team meeting, and all but disappeared into your room, it was becoming impossible for him to ignore.
The door to your shared room creaked open, and Logan stood in the doorway, watching as you sat curled up under the blanket on the bed, tissues scattered around you. Your cheeks were flushed, and your usually bright eyes were dim and watery.
“Alright,” Logan grumbled, his voice rough but gentle, “what’s going on with you?”
You sniffled, rubbing your nose with a tissue before looking up at him. “Nothing,” you mumbled, your voice sounding congested. “I’m fine, Logan.”
Logan stepped into the room, closing the door behind him. His boots thudded against the wooden floor as he moved closer. “You don’t look fine. You’ve been avoiding me all day, and now you’re holed up here lookin’ like death warmed over. What’s goin’ on?”
A heavy sigh escaped your lips as you let your head fall back against the pillow. You weren’t acting like yourself, and you knew it. Normally, you were the ray of sunshine in Logan’s life, always bright and cheerful, bringing a light into his otherwise gruff and hardened world. But today… today, you just couldn’t muster the energy. The weight of the cold was pressing down on you, and it felt as if every part of you was being drained of its usual warmth.
“I caught a cold,” you admitted reluctantly, your voice quieter than usual.
Logan narrowed his eyes, crossing his arms over his chest as he leaned against the bedpost. “A cold?” he repeated, as if the idea was foreign to him. “Why the hell are you still workin’ if you’ve got a cold?”
You shifted uncomfortably, pulling the blanket tighter around yourself. “I didn’t want to be a burden.”
Logan’s eyebrows shot up in disbelief. “A burden? You think takin’ care of yourself makes you a burden?”
“I just didn’t want to make anyone worry,” you mumbled, feeling a little embarrassed now. “I know everyone’s busy, and you’ve got your own stuff to handle. I didn’t want to be a distraction.”
Logan let out a low growl, his frustration evident, but not at you. He pushed himself off the bedpost and came to sit beside you on the bed, his hand brushing some hair out of your face. The touch was surprisingly tender for someone with such a rough exterior.
“Darlin’,” he began, his tone softer now, “you ain’t a burden. Not to me. Not to anyone.” His calloused fingers trailed down your cheek, feeling the warmth of your fever. “You’re sick, and that’s all there is to it. You shouldn’t be pushin’ yourself like this.”
You opened your mouth to argue, but before you could say anything, Logan’s expression shifted, a mixture of concern and protectiveness flashing across his face.
“Don’t even try to tell me you’re fine,” he said, cutting you off before you could protest. “I know you. I’ve been around long enough to know when somethin’ ain’t right, and you ain’t yourself today. You’re burnin’ up, Sunshine.”
A small, tired smile tugged at the corners of your lips when he used his nickname for you. “I’ll be okay, Logan, really. I just need to sleep it off.”
He wasn’t buying it. Not one bit.
“You’re not gettin’ out of this one that easy,” he muttered, standing up and heading toward the bathroom. You could hear him rummaging around, muttering to himself about where the hell Hank kept the damn thermometer.
You groaned softly, sinking deeper into the covers. “Logan, I can take care of myself…”
“Yeah? Well, I’m takin’ care of you now, so deal with it,” he called back from the bathroom. Moments later, he returned with a damp washcloth and a thermometer. He pressed the washcloth to your forehead, the cool sensation soothing your feverish skin.
You squirmed slightly, feeling a little uncomfortable with all the attention. Logan wasn’t exactly the nurturing type—at least, not outwardly—but the way he was hovering over you made your heart swell. You knew he cared, but he rarely showed it in such an obvious way.
“Stop fussin’,” he grumbled as he stuck the thermometer under your tongue. “I ain’t lettin’ you fight this thing alone, so just stay put.”
The thermometer beeped, and Logan took a look at the reading, his jaw tightening. “You’re runnin’ a fever. You should’ve said somethin’ sooner.”
You shrugged weakly, the energy to argue completely gone. “I didn’t want to worry you.”
Logan sighed deeply, his gruff exterior softening for just a moment as he sat back down beside you. “You worry me more when you don’t say anythin’,” he admitted quietly.
His words caught you off guard, and you looked up at him through bleary eyes. Logan wasn’t one for emotional speeches, but there was a raw honesty in his voice that made your chest tighten.
“I can take care of myself, but I ain’t used to people takin’ care of me,” Logan continued, his voice low. “But you… you’re different. You’re the light in all this darkness, and if somethin’ happens to you… I don’t know what I’d do.”
You reached out, placing a hand on his arm, feeling the strength beneath his skin. “I’m not going anywhere, Logan,” you whispered, your voice thick with emotion.
He let out a soft, almost inaudible grunt before pulling the blanket up over you. “Damn right you’re not,” he muttered, his tone gruff but tender. “Now, rest. I’ll get you some soup or somethin’.”
As he stood up to leave, you grabbed his hand, stopping him in his tracks. “Logan… thank you.”
He gave you a small nod, his lips quirking into a faint smirk. “You’re welcome, Sunshine. Just remember, you ain’t gotta do everything on your own. You’ve got me now.”
With that, Logan left the room, and you closed your eyes, letting yourself sink into the warmth of the blankets. You hadn’t realized how heavy the weight of your exhaustion was until now, but with Logan by your side, you finally allowed yourself to rest, knowing he’d be there to take care of you.
And, for once, you were okay with that.

EVERYONE GO READ THIS!!
It’s truly amazing
The Great Outdoors
Summary: Logan takes you on a camping trip, but his survival skills are hilariously outdated. Between using a rock instead of a proper camping tool and attempting to start a fire with his claws (which ends up in a mini bonfire), you can’t stop laughing. Eventually, you both end up cuddled in the tent, sharing ghost stories that lead to goofy scares and unexpected confessions of affection.
Pairing             : Wolverine!Logan Howlett x Female!Human-reader
Genre              : Fluff
Tumblr media
The sun was already dipping low behind the trees when Logan parked the truck. He got out like he was about to conquer the wild, while you stood there, looking at the woods and trying not to laugh at the seriousness on his face. Logan wasn’t the camping type—or at least, not the “modern” kind. He was more like the “rough it with nothing but your fists and claws” type.
This was going to be interesting.
“So, what’s the plan, Bear Grylls?” you teased, slinging your backpack over your shoulder.
Logan grunted, pulling out a rolled-up tent from the back of the truck. “Survive. That’s the plan.”
You raised an eyebrow. “Wow, so detailed. I feel so prepared.”
“Don’t worry, sweetheart, I’ve done this a hundred times. Just follow my lead, and we’ll be fine.”
Oh, boy.
You made your way into the clearing Logan had apparently scoped out beforehand. It wasn’t bad, actually—nice little spot near a river, surrounded by trees that rustled softly in the evening breeze. As soon as you set your stuff down, Logan got to work... sort of.
He started with the tent. You watched him as he unfolded it, frowning like the damn thing had personally offended him. “These damn things get more complicated every year,” he muttered, trying to shove a pole into one of the sleeves.
“Need some help?” you asked, biting your lip to keep from laughing as he wrestled with it.
“Nah, I got it,” he grumbled, jamming the pole so hard it almost snapped.
Five minutes later, the tent was half-collapsed, one corner flapping in the wind, and Logan was cursing under his breath.
“I think it’s supposed to stand up, Logan.”
He shot you a look, then glanced back at the tent. “It’s fine. I’m just, uh... testing its durability.”
You let out a snort, shaking your head. “Right. Maybe you should just let me handle that.”
“I’m a grown-ass man,” he muttered, glaring at the tent like it had insulted his mother.
“Yeah, and you’re losing a fight to a piece of nylon.”
After another moment of watching him struggle, you stepped in and started putting the thing together while Logan, not exactly one for sitting still, decided to gather firewood. He disappeared into the woods with nothing but his claws, because why bring a hatchet when you’re Logan?
By the time he came back, arms full of sticks and logs, the tent was up and looking perfect. You leaned against it, smirking as he dropped the wood into a pile.
“See?” you said, gesturing to the tent. “That’s how it’s done.”
Logan grunted, clearly not impressed. “Yeah, yeah. Let’s see you start a fire.”
You crossed your arms. “Watch and learn, old man.”
He grinned, that dangerous little glint in his eye. “Oh, you’re gonna regret that.”
Logan, being Logan, didn’t just gather some twigs and light them with a match like a normal person. No, that would’ve been too easy. Instead, he pulled out his claws and crouched next to the fire pit, sparks flying as he struck them against a rock.
“Logan, that’s not how—”
Whoosh!
The pile of wood lit up like someone had dumped gasoline on it. Flames shot up higher than you thought possible, and you stumbled back, laughing your ass off while Logan jumped up, cursing.
“Goddammit!” He swiped his claws through the air, trying to beat the flames down. “I meant to do that.”
“Oh, sure,” you choked out between laughs, wiping at your eyes. “That’s the perfect height for roasting marshmallows, right?”
Logan glared at the mini-bonfire for a second, then at you. “Next time, you can light the damn thing.”
You couldn’t stop laughing, the sound of it bouncing around the trees. Logan finally cracked a smile, though he tried to hide it behind a gruff mutter.
After some careful maneuvering (read: Logan finally letting you fix the fire), you both settled down for the evening. The fire was low, crackling softly, the night air cool around you. Stars were starting to peek through the darkening sky, and the only sounds were the soft hum of the forest and Logan chewing on beef jerky.
You leaned back against a log, holding your hands out to the fire. “So, what now? Gonna show me your impressive ghost story collection?”
Logan raised an eyebrow, gnawing on his jerky like a wild animal. “Ghost stories? What are we, twelve?”
“Come on,” you teased. “Everyone knows camping isn’t complete without ghost stories. It’s like... the law.”
He scoffed but leaned back, his eyes glinting in the firelight. “Alright. You want a ghost story? I’ll give you one.”
“Oh, this oughta be good.”
Logan cleared his throat dramatically. “So... once upon a time... there was this girl. Thought she was real tough. Real smart.”
You narrowed your eyes. “Is this about me?”
“Shhh, I’m tellin’ a story here,” Logan said, smirking. “Anyway, she thought she could survive out in the wild with just a little ol’ tent and her wit. But one night, she heard a rustling in the trees... something... watching her.”
You leaned in, playing along, even though you knew exactly where this was going. “Oh, yeah? What was it?”
Logan’s eyes widened theatrically. “A bear! Big, ugly thing. Twice her size. It came into her camp, sniffin’ around, and you know what she did?”
You shook your head, grinning. “What?”
“Nothing. She just froze. The bear ate all her snacks, tore up her tent, and left her sittin’ there in her own piss.”
You burst out laughing. “Wow, Logan. Truly terrifying. 10/10. I’m gonna have nightmares for weeks.”
Logan grinned, leaning closer. “I got more. You’ll be beggin’ for mercy by the end of the night.”
You pushed his shoulder lightly. “You’re such an ass.”
As the night deepened and the fire began to die down, you both retreated into the tent. It was surprisingly cozy inside, the faint warmth of the fire lingering outside while you snuggled into your sleeping bag. Logan stretched out beside you, his body taking up way too much space, but you didn’t mind.
“Comfy?” you asked, glancing at him as he wiggled around.
“Like a fuckin’ sardine,” he muttered, trying to adjust in the small space. “Who the hell makes these tents so damn small?”
“They’re meant for normal-sized people, not... whatever the hell you are,” you said with a smirk.
Logan snorted. “Mutant privilege. I need bigger accommodations.”
You both lay there for a few minutes, the quiet settling in around you. Logan’s breathing was steady, his body warm next to yours, and despite his earlier grumblings, you could tell he was content. This whole camping thing wasn’t so bad, after all.
“Alright,” you said suddenly, turning to face him. “I’ve got a ghost story.”
Logan raised an eyebrow but didn’t say anything, so you went on.
“There’s this guy, right? Big, tough, hairy—like, really hairy. The kinda guy you wouldn’t wanna meet in a dark alley.”
Logan rolled his eyes, but you kept going.
“And one night, he decides to go camping with this totally amazing girl—smart, funny, great taste in camping snacks—”
“Wow, I wonder who this is about,” Logan deadpanned.
“Shhh,” you said, stifling a laugh. “But the thing is... the guy? He’s got a secret. See, he acts all tough, like nothing scares him, but deep down? He’s terrified of one thing.”
Logan looked over at you, eyes narrowing. “What?”
You grinned, leaning in close. “Commitment.”
Logan blinked, then let out a low chuckle, shaking his head. “You’re full of shit, you know that?”
“Maybe,” you said, smiling. “But you know I’m right.”
He didn’t deny it, just stretched out a hand to pull you closer, his arm wrapping around you with an ease that made your heart flutter a little too fast.
“I’m scared of plenty of things,” he muttered, his voice low and rough. “Just not the same kinda things as you.”
“Like what?” you asked, curious now.
Logan looked at you, his eyes serious for once. “Losing people. People I care about. That’s what scares me.”
The confession was quiet, unexpected, and it hit harder than you’d thought. You swallowed, unsure of what to say, but Logan just shrugged like it wasn’t a big deal, pulling you in tighter.
“Guess that makes you a real badass,” you whispered after a moment, your voice barely breaking the stillness of the tent.
“Damn right,” he muttered, pressing a kiss to your forehead. “Now shut up and go to sleep before I start tellin’ real scary stories.”
You smiled against his chest, warmth spreading through you as the sound of the river and the soft crackling of the dying fire lulled you to sleep. And maybe, just maybe, you’d both survived the great outdoors after all.

╰┈➤ ❝ [PAIRING] ❞ John Wick x F!Reader
・❥・GENRE: Angst!!
ੈ✩‧₊˚ WARNINGS: Kidnapping, mentions of torture, trauma, ptsd, emotional and physical abuse, angst
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥SUMMARY: You are kidnapped by a mafia group seeking revenge on John Wick, enduring weeks of brutal torture for refusing to reveal his whereabouts. When John finally finds and rescues you, you're barely recognizable, shattered by the ordeal. He takes you home, gently caring for your wounds and helping you recover.
Tumblr media
THE WAREHOUSE SMELLED OF BLOOD AND FEAR.
John Wick’s steps were eerily silent as he moved through the decimated hideout. The bodies littered around him were evidence of the storm he’d unleashed, his rage manifesting in every gunshot, every blade that tore through flesh. He had come for you, and nothing would stop him. The moment he heard you’d been taken—kidnapped, tortured—his world had become singular, focused on one thing: getting you back.
He kicked open the last door, heart hammering in his chest. The room was dark, save for a single, flickering bulb hanging from the ceiling. And there you were—tied to a chair in the center, bruised, bloody, barely recognizable. Your head hung low, limp like a ragdoll. The sight of you ripped something primal inside of him. He moved quickly, holstering his weapon, eyes scanning you for signs of life.
"Sweetheart," he whispered, his voice rough, almost pleading.
Your eyes fluttered open at the sound of his voice, dull and lifeless, yet still aware. You tried to lift your head, but the weight of your injuries and weeks of torment held you down.
His hands trembled as he untied the ropes binding you to the chair. Your wrists were raw, chafed from days of resistance. You hadn’t broken. Even when they starved you, drowned you, beat you until you could barely breathe, you hadn’t given them anything. Not a single word about John. Not a hint. But the cost of that defiance had hollowed you out, leaving behind a shell of the person you used to be.
When the ropes finally fell away, you collapsed into his arms, too weak to stand. He caught you easily, pulling you into his chest.
“John…” you croaked, your voice nothing more than a rasp, a faint echo of what it once was.
“I’m here," he murmured, holding you tightly. His voice broke, the cracks in his facade showing. “I’ve got you.”
You didn’t respond, and that killed him more than anything. You, who used to be so full of life, who laughed with such ease in his arms—now you were silent, staring past him with a blank, haunted look. He could feel the tremors running through your body as he carried you out of that hellhole, each step a reminder of the weeks of suffering you’d endured without him. Each step weighed down by the guilt that crushed him.
When he brought you home, it didn’t feel like home anymore. The warmth had bled out of the walls, leaving only a cold, empty space that mirrored the emptiness in your eyes.
John helped you into the bathroom, his touch gentle, almost afraid of breaking you further. Your skin was marred with bruises, cuts, the evidence of everything they’d done to you. He drew a bath, the steam rising in the small space as he eased you into the water. You winced, your body so broken that even the warm water felt like a new kind of torment.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered again, though he wasn’t sure if you even heard him. His fingers were careful as they washed away the grime and blood, every touch a silent apology. He washed your hair, his movements slow and deliberate, as if each gesture might undo the horrors of what had happened.
But you were silent still, your eyes closed, face pale and gaunt. You didn’t cry. You hadn’t cried once since he found you. He didn’t know whether that was a relief or a worse kind of nightmare.
After the bath, he dressed you in one of his shirts, the fabric hanging loosely on your fragile frame. He led you to bed, helping you under the covers, though you lay there like a ghost, staring at the ceiling.
~
Days passed, and you began to speak again. Slowly, haltingly, like you were relearning how. At first, it was a few words, barely audible.
"Thank you," you'd whisper when he brought you food, though you never ate more than a few bites.
"Okay," you’d mutter when he asked if you needed anything, though your voice always trailed off, as if you were unsure of what you were saying.
He watched you, never leaving your side for long. He was patient, though the fire inside him still raged—a quiet, controlled fury, always on the verge of exploding.
One night, as he sat beside you, you turned to him. Your face was drawn, eyes glassy, but there was something behind them now. Something fragile, yet real.
“John…” Your voice wavered, and for the first time, he saw the tears welling up, the flood you’d been holding back. His heart clenched in his chest as you reached for him, fingers trembling.
He was by your side in an instant, taking your hand, feeling the chill of your skin.
“They… they didn’t stop.” Your voice cracked, and then the dam broke. “They kept… they kept hitting me. They tried to drown me. They wanted me to tell them where you were… but I didn’t, John. I didn’t tell them.”
Your words came out in gasps, sobs choking you as the weight of everything you’d endured came crashing down.
“I thought… I thought I was going to die. Every day, I thought this would be it. And I kept thinking about you… about how I couldn’t give them anything, not after everything we’ve been through.” Your voice wavered, breaking. “But it hurt so much, John. It hurt so much.”
He held you then, pulling you into his arms, his heart shattering with every word you spoke.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered into your hair, over and over again. “I’m so sorry.”
You buried your face in his chest, sobs wracking your body, and for the first time since he found you, you cried. You let it all out—the fear, the pain, the hopelessness you’d carried for so long. And John held you through it all, his hands trembling as he rocked you gently, whispering the same promises again and again.
“I’m done,” he said quietly, his voice low but firm. “I’m done with this life. I’m not losing you again. I’m not doing this anymore.”
You didn’t respond, but he felt the way your grip tightened on him, the way your body finally relaxed in his arms. He made the vow then, to you, to himself. The world could burn, but you were all that mattered now.
John Wick, the assassin, was no more.
———
I watched the first two John Wick movies today and I’m lowkey crushing on John so i decided to write something small…i might make more oneshots about him🤷🏽‍♀️

♡˗ˏ✎*ೃ˚ : AFTER THE NIGHTMARE : :;
╰┈➤ ❝ [PAIRING] ❞ Worst!Logan Howlett x F!Reader
・❥・GENRE: Fluff because our man deserves it
˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆FANDOM: X-Men
ੈ✩‧₊˚ WARNINGS: None!
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥SUMMARY: Logan wakes from a nightmare about losing the X-Men and goes to the balcony to clear his head. You find him, comfort him, and bring him back to bed, holding him close and reassuring him that he's safe with you.
Tumblr media
LOGAN WOKE WITH A JUMP, his chest heaving, sweat clinging to his skin like a second layer. The familiar shadows of your apartment stretched across the room, but he was far from calm. His breath was shallow, his heart pounding harder than it should have been. His mind was still trapped in the nightmare, reliving the loss of the X-Men, Xavier’s death, and the ruins of the life he once knew.
Next to him, you slept peacefully, completely unaware of the storm inside him. He stared at you for a moment, your face illuminated by the faint glow of the streetlights outside, the sight of you offering him a brief tether to the present. But the images in his head—the blood, the destruction—tightened his chest. He didn’t want to disturb you. You deserved peace, not his haunted past creeping into the night.
Carefully, Logan slipped out of bed, making sure not to wake you. He pulled on a pair of old sweatpants and padded silently into the living room, his feet sinking into the worn rug you insisted on keeping. His hands instinctively went to the small box on the coffee table, fishing out a cigar. As he moved through the apartment, everything felt too quiet. The echo of his past still followed him, no matter how much time had passed.
The balcony door slid open without a sound, and Logan stepped into the cool night air. The city stretched below, bustling and alive, so different from the stillness inside him. He lit the cigar, the end glowing faintly in the dark, and took a long drag. The burn in his lungs felt grounding, a temporary distraction from the ache in his chest.
It had been months since the ordeal with Wade, the chaos of Deadpool’s wild world colliding with his own. You had met Logan through Wade, your best friend and constant source of trouble. Logan had tried to resist getting close to anyone after everything he’d lost, but you… you had snuck up on him. Your warmth, your patience—it was something he hadn’t expected. And now here he was, standing on your balcony, trying not to let his past bleed into the present.
Inside, the bed felt suddenly too empty, and you stirred, reaching for the space where Logan had been. Your hand met cool sheets, and your brow furrowed as you blinked awake, the soft glow of the city filtering into the room. You sat up, rubbing your eyes, and glanced around. The apartment was still, but you could feel that Logan was no longer beside you. A small frown tugged at your lips as you slid out of bed, tugging one of his oversized flannels over your frame.
Padding barefoot into the living room, you didn’t have to search long. The faint scent of cigar smoke lingered in the air, and the glass door to the balcony was slightly ajar. You stepped out quietly, your heart tightening a little at the sight of him standing there, his broad shoulders tense, his gaze lost in the distant skyline.
Without saying a word, you moved behind him and wrapped your arms gently around his waist. Logan stiffened at the contact for just a second before he relaxed, his hand moving to rest over yours on his stomach.
"Hey," he murmured softly, his voice rough around the edges, but tender.
"Hey," you whispered back, resting your cheek against his warm back. "Couldn't sleep?"
He let out a quiet sigh, his free hand lifting to rub at his face. "Yeah, something like that."
You could tell from the tension in his body and the way he was avoiding your gaze that it was more than just trouble sleeping. Slowly, you moved around to face him, resting your hands gently on his chest. His eyes, haunted and far away, finally met yours. "What’s going on, Logan? Talk to me."
He took a deep breath, looking past you for a moment before meeting your gaze again. "Had a nightmare. About… everything. The X-Men, Xavier… what I lost in my world." His voice was quiet, strained. "I try to move past it, but sometimes it just… it all comes back."
Your heart ached for him. You knew Logan carried the weight of his past like an invisible burden, even on the best of days. His walls were thick, built to withstand pain and loss, but there were moments like these, where the cracks showed, where the vulnerability seeped through.
You slid your hands up to cup his face, your thumbs brushing gently over the scruff on his jaw. "I’m so sorry, Logan," you whispered, your voice soft but filled with understanding. "I can’t imagine what it was like to lose them. But you’re here now. You’re not alone anymore."
Logan closed his eyes for a moment, leaning into your touch. He hadn’t wanted to admit how much it had all been weighing on him, but with you, he didn’t feel the need to hide. "I don’t deserve this," he murmured, his voice low, almost as if he was speaking more to himself than to you. "You. This… peace."
You shook your head gently. "You deserve every bit of it, Logan. We all have things we’re running from. You’ve carried enough alone. You don’t have to anymore."
For a long moment, he didn’t say anything, just took in the comfort of your presence, the way you held him without asking for anything in return. He let out a deep breath, one that seemed to ease a little of the weight off his shoulders.
"You’re too good to me, you know that?" he muttered, though there was a soft hint of gratitude in his tone.
You smiled, rising onto your toes to press a kiss to his cheek. "Someone has to keep you in line."
Logan chuckled softly, the sound rumbling in his chest as he pulled you close, wrapping his arms around you fully. The cigar, now forgotten, sat smoldering in the ashtray. He buried his face in the crook of your neck, breathing in the familiar scent of you—a small, comforting anchor in the storm of his thoughts.
After a few moments, you gently tugged his hand. “Come back to bed, Logan. You need rest.”
He hesitated, his jaw tightening. “I… I don’t know if I can. Not after—”
You cut him off with a soft smile, placing your hand on his cheek. “You don’t have to face it alone.” Your fingers threaded through his as you led him back inside.
Once you were in the bedroom, you slipped under the covers and held them open for him. Logan stood there for a moment, his eyes flicking between you and the bed as if he was afraid of what would happen once he closed his eyes again. But with a reluctant sigh, he crawled in beside you, resting on his side, his back to you.
Sensing his unease, you moved closer, sliding your arms around his waist and pulling him into you. Logan stiffened for a moment, but then melted into your embrace, his large body relaxing as he let you spoon him. Your lips pressed gently to his shoulder, leaving soft kisses against his skin.
“It’s okay,” you murmured softly, your voice like a soothing balm to his frayed nerves. “I’m here. You’re safe. It’s okay to fall asleep.”
Logan let out a shaky breath, his hands covering yours where they rested against his chest. “I don’t know how you do it,” he whispered, his voice barely audible. “Make it all feel… bearable.”
You smiled softly against his shoulder, continuing to place gentle kisses along his skin. “I’m not going anywhere. Just rest, Logan. I’ve got you.”
It took a while, but eventually, Logan’s breathing began to slow, the tension in his muscles easing bit by bit. With you wrapped around him, your steady breaths a comforting rhythm in the quiet room, he finally allowed his eyes to close.
And for the first time in a long time, Logan fell into a peaceful sleep, no longer haunted by the ghosts of his past.
