since when did we decide it's okay to comment on a person's appearance just because they are problematic? don't get me wrong, i hate bigoted assholes too. but bodyshaming them isn't the way to solve this problem because newsflash: there may be other people with the features you're making fun of, who sees this and feels insecure about themselves.

if a person did something wrong, address their actions, NOT their appearance. i see so many people preaching about how wrong bodyshaming is but the moment someone (usually men) does something problematic, they have no qualms in calling them ugly or making small dick jokes.

again, this is not about hurting the problematic person. they may not deserve sympathy. but by insulting a certain feature, you are insulting everyone in the world who has that feature. by fatshaming one problematic person, you are implying that all fat people are problematic and therefore deserving of insults.

also, you're just missing the entire point. instead of addressing the actual problem, you are implying that this person is bad because they are ugly, or vice versa. it's just disgusting. it's 2023, i thought we were better than this.

besides, bodyshaming is the laziest form of insult. you just look at something on the surface level, something a person has no control over, and go "haha ugly". you could get a lot more out of insulting their personality and actions, you know, the thing that deserves calling out?

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT???? WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME?????????? and thus was verbal again

i don't even know what to say. Apparently my brother has been sending doja cat (singer) recipe links as instagram dms for literal YEARS now because he doesn't know an easy way to bookmark them in the app. Which led to an attempt to save recipes by just linking them to celebrities who he assumes aren't checking their dms anyways. this lifehack got him blocked by mac demarco and lorde however. Doja never blocked or responded so he just continued to use her inbox to save insta recipes. FOR YEARS.
