the first thing levi noticed about you was your hair, the way your curls glinted in the morning sun. whether it was tied back, or your curls were framing your face and falling in hypnotising waves. there was something about it that drove him crazy.

when you and levi finally moved in together, he watched curiously as you replaced both your pillowcases with silk ones. changed his hair towel to a micro fibre one, and stacked up your products on the shower shelf. that’s why you always smelled so fucking good, your deep masque, your conditioner, curl cream, all of it smelt so fucking amazing. it smelt like you and he loved it.

he even bought travel sizes of your conditioners for when he went away on business trips, just so he could smell you when he was away.

one time you told levi about the teasing you recieved through school, people calling your hair messy, wild, telling you should brush it out, straighten it. he was livid, how fucking dare they, “it’s perfect as it is.”

when you told him the flip side, people always asking to touch it, your lip curled when he said, “how stupid, you’re not an animal, people don’t ask to do that with straight hair.”

“….they were jealous. your hair is beautiful there’s nothing messy about it.”

levi started to notice how people compliment curly hair, ‘so cool’ ‘wow it’s so crazy!’ just like you’d discussed with him. he hated that you’ve ever felt pressed to flatten your pretty curls away with heat because of stupid comments such as these amongst other things.

the idea of someone reaching out to touch you or your hair made his blood boil.

levi too thought the handling of another’s hair was intimate and or laced with love, he loved the care his mother would take with his hair as a child, making it neat for him, because otherwise he could not sleep knowing it was slightly uneven.

as an adult, levi came to quickly discover that he couldn’t relax without coiling his fingers through your curls at least once a day, watching them spring beautifully. even if it was just one. it was funny because you never thought you would like somebody playing with your hair, but you loved when levi did it, love in his fingertips, a lazy smile on his lips. springing his favourite curls while you cuddled after a long day.

he remembers the first time you moved his hand to your hair, feeling your locks fall against his fingers, he rubbed at your scalp, smiling at the way you relaxed. he didn’t want to make it a big deal, but his heat was thudding. you’d been together not even six months yet, but this was more intimate than hand-holding to him.

carefully, he played with the curly lengths, gently, not tugging his fingers through it, no—he handled it with care. “your hair is so pretty,” he whispered, kissing your forehead. you tore your eyes away from the movie, your gaze softened.

Your mouth opened and then closed, before you simply smiled, “…thank you, levi.”

he switched you below him, your curls fanned about the sofa cushions, levi thought you looked like a princess, “im so fucking lucky, you are the most beautiful thing i have ever seen.”

that night as you made love, you urged levi to slot his fingers through the strands above your nape and pull. he did so, delighting in the way you moaned, melting into your embrace, telling you how beautiful you were and how good you were taking him.

the first time levi washed your hair was after years of living together, when all the possible walls between a couple had dissolved. you were more comfortable with levi than you were alone and vice versa.

one week, you were swamped with work, tossing your hair into a ponytail every morning. levi noticed because he loves when your curls are out and free, they’re gorgeous. but he knows it’s a lot of work sometimes. so when you sighed as your finger caught a knot, tossing aside your silk scrunchie. he had already made his mind up.

levi had been watching youtube tutorials for this very moment. “want me to wash it for you?” he asked, tentatively.

“huh? you sure?” you answered, eyes shining.

“let me. it’s good i get the practise. plus, you know how to wash mine,” he shrugged simply, a sweet smile on his lips. “it’s no different, i should know how to take care of your hair too,” he added firmly, kissing your knuckles—hearing no complaints.

you nodded. and god were you shocked with how well levi had done. you were confused at first because he did it a little differently to you. slathering conditioner through your mid-lengths before his fingers worked your scalp, washing away the bubbles of your clarifying shampoo.

he watched your face scrunch curiously.

“it’s good to condition your hair before, so when the shampoo rinses through. your hair won’t get too dry.”

levi knew what he was talking about and it was fucking hot. “been reading up on this?”

“maybe,” he purred, detangling your hair tip to root. “ends to roots, just like you taught me,” he hummed cockily, working in your stylers with fínese.

“so pretty,” he murmured, though completely to himself, his fingers smoothing frizz away as he clumped your curls together with your wet brush. cupping each section and scrunching it into your microfibre towel, before squishing the water out.

“sorry, my hair takes so long,” you mumbled. levi normally waited for you to wash your hair, but he’s clingy even if he won’t admit it to anyone other than you.

“ill do it for you from now on, if you’ll let me.”

“if you don’t mind,” your cheeks were on fire, other than sex there was nothing more intimate than this.

“of course i don’t—i want to.”

when your hair was dried, you couldn’t believe how good it looked, you’d never seen it look so fucking good in fact. you’d gotten compliments all week, and a few people even stopped to ask of your routine.

you grew to love these rituals, it made you closer, you didn’t have to spend hours in the bathroom, moodily detangling your hair anymore. levi was an earnest learner as always. some soft music, candles, levi oiled your scalp, braided your hair before bed, massaged in your shampoo, come to think of it, you’d always washed his hair when you showered, he was right. why would it be any different?

“y’know earlier, you said—it’s good to get practise, what did you mean?”

he laid you down beneath him, pressing suggestive kisses along your jaw, “what’d’you think, sweetheart?”

“levi?”

you locked your arms around his neck, “well…when we’ve got curly haired brats running around here, i want to be able to-“

when you both had your first daughter, levi exclusively handled her hair in the mornings, doing the prettiest hairstyles with butterfly clips and hair pins. the teachers all cooed at levi when he did the school run, “…told us that daddy does her hair, is that right?”

the reason why Luo Binghe and Shen Yuan can't attic wife each other in their house and never leave is that they don't have internet or anything else around to help keep them moving. I think we chalk too much of Shen Qingqiu being a super productive person post transmigration often too much to reading into things and treating his unreliable narration as fact.

But like, what is he supposed to do all if not actually go outside and talk to people and get a job. Luo Binghe needs to do things other than be a housewife for his own sanity so he doesn't cabin fever. He can't live focusing his day around a singular person being in the room its not healthy and would drive him insane. These are not overly productive constantly doing things people. These are people doing things to make sure they aren't malaise slugs feeling nothing in their day to day drudgery.

This is just what a healthy post/pre internet mental state kinda looks like.

So the thing about Gabe to me is that he doesn’t quite fit in the categorically of Angel Who Is Eventually Humanized the way that Castiel or Anna do. He is more down to earth than the other angels but specifically in the way that GODS are, not humans. Like, even if he's not literally Loki, Gabriel is functionally an earthen deity for the millenia he spent dicking around and killing people. Other gods are literally the crowd he runs in, and he's an asshole because gods are assholes (and he specifically decided to be one of the more extreme asshole gods). Even though his sensibilities can be very human-like, even if he generally likes humans and wants them to stick around, there was always some level of divinity to his cruelty. So even if he did ultimately choose humanity I feel like putting him in with the angels who actually know what it's like to be human misses this part of his character.

Dipper, as a human, would think of it first - socialization and all - but he wouldn't mention a Really Big Step forward that, in his mind, isn't something demons do. He's still on shaky ground when it comes to the whole 'does he really like me though' thing! As far as he knows, Bill could be confused by the very concept! Or disgusted, or disinterested, laugh at him for being such an idiot. Or worse, do it just to placate Dipper. Not because he wanted to. Just to shut his human up. Catch this man giving longing glances at the rings on someone else's hand, and telling himself he doesn't want that. He can't want that. He's got a great thing going. Everything's better than he imagined already, he should - Just be happy with what he has, damn it.

Do you think Nightmare ever wonders if Passive is still alive?

Like, okay. The way I think of it (because I want it to be possible for everyone to be happy in the end) is that when Passive ate all the apples, he and the corruption fused. Like, they both are controlling his body but the corruption had complete (or at least majority) control for a long time because of the concentrated power from all the apples. But Passive was still in there, and over time he was able to pry back more and more control over his body and mind.

But he probably wouldn't realise that was happening because how do you tell the different parts of you apart after so long. Do you think he thinks Passive died in the incident and he's just the sentience of the corruption? Do you think, in a truce situation, Dream calls him brother and Nightmare wonders if any part of Dream's brother is even in there anymore?

you can always tell when someone doesn't have maga men in their life and god it makes me angry.. "if you're nice and compassionate you can be the one woman that makes them realize women aren't mean!" my mom bent over backwards for my dad for 25 fucking years he has plenty of other women kissing his ass and it never changed anything. do you really think that before being radicalized they never knew a single kind woman? they were never friends with a nice girl? alt-right men's problem with women isn't just that they've experienced too many mean women and they need to be shown that women can be nice, it's that they think women are inferior and don't deserve rights and don't understand anything so you can do what you want with them. and it takes a lot more than being nice to show someone that you aren't inferior. this isn't a case of being nice even when it's hard for the sake of deradicalization, it's about spending every fucking interaction with someone trying to get them to see you as a human being with value and a functioning intellect while they just laugh and show you that's never going to happen.

i cannot stress this enough: random women are not just going out and Being Mean to men. ur average guy interacts with plenty of women throughout his life- close women amongst their friends and family, casual interactions etc. most people don't start out being shunned by women, they start out being treated as NORMAL. & when they show their disrespect in normal society, it isn't tolerated, but when they go to alt-right spaces (which they're pushed towards online) they're told they're allowed to be as horrible as they want with no consequences because they're entitled to everything. it isn't "women aren't welcoming and the alt-right is so friendly so i'll become alt-right," it's "women don't let me disrespect them and the alt-right tells me fuck them, do whatever you want, you're entitled to it all" and why would you choose the group where you have to be a normal accountable person when there's a group that will reward you for being a shithead who gives no fucks?

the alt-right can afford to be more friendly and welcoming because they can allow bigotry. this can't work the same way for progressive spaces because we can be as kind & welcoming as possible but at the end of the day we have lines where we have to say "this behavior/speech isn't allowed in this space," and for certain people, that just can't win against a space where you can be as nasty as you want. these posts always end with a disclaimer saying "of course being kind doesnt mean you need to tolerate their bigotries" but what they don't realize and what drives me crazy is that women not tolerating bigotry IS the "women are mean" that radicalized them in the first place. they perceive you pushing back on any bigotry or bullshit as you being a meanie and treating them like they're ontologically evil. the 'kindness' they need to be deradicalized is you letting them walk all over you.

idk what the answer is to deradicalizing them and im sure relationships are part of it but you can be as kind as you want and all it will do is destroy you ime. i cant stand to see people (who have never even successfully deradicalized any man by being nice btw they always speak in hypotheticals and not from experience) double down on telling women to do things that will see no results and only hurt them, especially when any woman who has tried can tell you exactly how it went

I find it very satisfying that Zorian's own choices are what lead to his involvement in the plot.

Zach's meddling may have saved Zorian's life in the initial barrage, but it's Zorian's decision to search for Akoja that tangles their fates together. If Zach had his way Zorian would have been "safe" at the shelters by time Quatach-Ichl showed up, but Zorian strikes out to repay the debt he feels he owes Akoja by driving her into danger and winds up at the right place at the right time. He never would have been partially soul melded to Zach if he had been callous enough or lacking in courage enough to abandon Akoja.

On top of that, he makes a second decision to prioritize someone else's life over his own safety when he let's go of the teleport rod to push Zach out of the way of Quatach-Ichl's attack. Granted, he had to react in a split second and had no time to deliberate, but his first instinct was to protect Zach rather than ensure his own escape.

Amusingly, Zach complains that Zorian let go of the rod while Zorian fires back that Zach would be dead if he hadn't done that. He doesn't seem to regret his choice at all, even if it means that he himself is still in danger.

Zack comments multiple times that trying to keep Zorian alive is a chore, and it occurs to me that the main reason Zorian didn't become involved in the loops years earlier is precisely because Zorian is so difficult to keep alive during the invasion. It wasn't until Zach successfully and naturally got Zorian to attend the dance that the dominoes start falling. Only by saving Zorian does Zach inadvertently open the door for Zorian to enter the stage and drastically change the trajectory of events, eventually saving Zach in turn.

Only when Zorian is alive and free to act completely within his own nature, both driving Akoja away and subsequently trying to rescue her, is he elevated to a protagonist role.

I know little of the Keepers and their cultural norms, but I suppose it should not come as a surprise that matters of grooming and personal maintenance should carry a more pragmatic connotation for those who live in such isolation - or perhaps our friend is simply strange, regardless of his context. I must admit: it was no small comfort to me, in those frigid days heralding the twilight of the Dragonsong War, to discover that our champion did not share our Sharlayan intuition toward personal space. Our more guarded companions don't always share my gratitude for the attention, but I believe that after our long estrangement, even the coldest of hearts could not fail to be warmed by such a gesture.
