OK I absolutely adore Stede as a character, but I'm disappointed with how they handled him in season 2.

Achieving fame and respect as a pirate was his main goal throughout the whole show, and once he got there by murdering Ned, it's painfully obvious he regrets it (or at least feels badly about it). And then he chooses to have sex with Ed instead of talking about it, going against his whole motto in season 1--talk it through as a crew. It makes sense, it's much easier to avoid hard feelings, but they didn't even talk about it the morning after.

Instead, Stede doubles down and gets drunk at Spanish Jackie's and lights a man on fire as a joke. We never see how this affects Stede. He murdered Ned and lit a dude on fire and it's just...not addressed? And then he finds Ed (who doesnt know that Stede LIT A MAN ON FIRE), and they break up again. He literally calls Ed a coward. Which like, true! Ed has commitment issues like a bitch, but like are you really not going to run after him?

Like damn, Anne and Mary were right. They don't know how to love without hurting. They are fucking 14 year old boys. Just imagine this:

"I think Anne and Mary were right," Ed mutters.

"What?"

"Anne and Mary were right. We don't know how to love each other, Stede."

Stede takes Ed's hand.

"Then let's figure it out."

But instead, the next time they see each other, Ed says he loves Stede, and he's sorry for being a dick. And Stede says life's a dick. I think with the constraints on season 2, this was a pretty good concise way to tie that issue up. But there's still so much that's going unsaid.

Ed didn't leave to become a fisherman. He left so he wouldn't be hurt by Stede leaving again. He left because Stede killed a man, and he can't become a better person if Stede is fucking killing people.

And Stede didn't kill people because he's a killer at heart. He killed because all he wanted was to be respected. To be a man. From childhood, he was taught that violence was synonymous with masculinity. But in his heart, he liked picking flowers and walking in nature and rowing out onto the lake.

That's who Stede is. He's gentle. And I'm kind of heartbroken that that part of his character is gone.

He doesn't need to be sexy, dominant, violent, masculine to be a man. To be loved. Ed fell in love with the silly, sensitive, gentle Stede who had a secret closet full of frilly fabric and summer linens. He fell in love with the Stede who told him he wears fine things well. He fell in love with the Stede who swapped his clothes with him just for fun.

If I wrote season 2, I would have the first half of the season stay pretty much the same. But, when Stede kills Ned and achieves infamy as a pirate, I would have him discover that he is deeply unhappy even though he has everything he thought he ever wanted. I would have him realize that he doesn't know who he is, and who he wants to be. And THEN I would have him and Ed TALK ABOUT IT.

Stede would day something like "I thought I'd be happier." And Ed would say, "I told you so" only in a nicer way. And then Ed would tell him about why he fell in love with Stede in the first place. And Stede would shake his head in disbelief and Ed would keep going. He would say how alive he felt with him, and how enchanted he was with Stede. He would tell Stede that he'd love him even if he wasnt a pirate. And then Stede would start to feel like himself again, and say the same back to Ed. And then they hug!!!

Anyway TLDR: I love Stede but bro is not a murderer and they should have explored his identity crisis much more.

Also: I know that there were a lot of constraints on season 2, so I'm not directing blame at any one person. I'm still disappointed though. They deserved much more time to properly tell their stories.

I've recently marathoned all 8 theatrical Muppet movies ,and these are my rankings.Keep in mind I think all 8 are good movies,I just prefer some to others

8.The Muppets

I like the nostalgic look back stuff.....But the peoblem is I dont like Walter or the human characters .This film is the most meh to me

7.Muppets From Space

ITs diffrent,being the only non musical in the series ,and I do like that the film focuses on my favorite Muppet Gonzo and doesnt showcase just the Muppet Show guys but the Muppets Tonght guys as well but the story isnt all there,I dont think Jeffrey Tambours villain has the right ending and it is painfully 90's

6.Great Muppet Caper

Oooooh for putting this so low I might get some hate,but I shall explain .This is the most irreverant ,silly and funniest Mupppet movie,if you just want to laugh this is great .THis film is pure Henson wackyness,the film is not taking itself seriously at all.....And while I enjoy that.....I prefer a Muppet movie to have a bit more heart and story to go with the silly FOr me the characters,story and songs are a bit lacking .Again jokes are brillaint,performances are good (Charles Grodin looks like he is in LOVE with Miss Piggy and it is amazing) and it may have my favorite cameo in any Muppet movie .I do like the movie,I just like 5 others better

5.Muppets Most Wanted

This film is VERY similar to Great Muppet Caper ,and while not funnier,I think its more solid .I adore the songs,especially the Big House ,I think the story is really good ,I love Sam and Ty Burrels chemistry ,the cameos are top notch ,Tina Fey as the Russian warden Nadya delivers one of the best human characters in all the Muppet movies and the film has possibly the best villain in all the Muppet movies in Constantine who is good mix of hilarious and threatening .Not all the effects worked and....I really wish someone else other then Ricky Gervais played the secondary villain Dominic Badguy.Overall though its an enjoyable film

4.Muppets Take Manhatten

The one that surprised me .Of the orignal three its the one people dont talk about but ....I love it,its a bit more of a low key Muppet film ,ITs a much more character focused film. .The Dabney Coleman scene cracks me up,Saying Goodbye is tearjerking and the finale is spectacular

3.Muppet Christmas Carol

A legit really good take on a Christmas Carol,possibly one of the best takes .The first film without Jim Henson ,and I think it showed the Muppets could survive .Less about the jokes and more about the heart and artistry while still having fun and humor . the Muppet performers are on top form,especially Gonzo and Rizzo as the narrators ,but the highlight of the film is honestly the phenomenal performance of Michael Caine as the coldhearted Scrooge ,giving off a legit good dramtic performance while talking to Puppets .Also the songs by Pqaul Williams are just top notch

2.The Muppet Movie

The one that started it all,a heartwarming story about a bunch of weirdos coming together in pursuit of a dream,its sweet,its funny ,Paul Williams songs are great (Especially Im Going to Go Back There Some Day and Rainbow Connection),theres some fun cameos (Mel Brooks steals the show ) and Charles Durning gives an underrated performance as a psychotic fast food mogul

This....WAs one of the first movies I ever saw,and I have never stopped loving it .The muppet mayhem is funny(DEad Toms Dead always gets me ),its exciting ,the songs are all top notch ,and it has the best human cast with Kevin Bishop as the adventurous young Jim .Jennifer Saunders asa bombastic Inn owner,Billy Connolly as old drunkn pirate Billy Bones and the legend himself Tim Curry hamming it up as the villainous Long John Silver in perhaps his greatest performance ,cause he is equally great with the comedy as he is at delivering tender softer moments with Jim as a sort of surrogate father

luffy bday hcs!

luffy started his journey on his 17th birthday, and saobadoby happends some time before his 18th birthday. its not clear how long it is but fans think luffys journey was around 4-6 months, so he never celebrated his birthday w them, so he didnt think they knew it anyways.. he usually forgets his birthday and they (assumably) didnt know so he didnt think much of it

so the day comes, and low and behold... luffy forgot.

ace told the strawhats when luffys birthday was during their time in alabasta though, and nami made a point to put it on the calendar in the girls dorm, since luffy only ever comes inside so robin will tell him and chopper a bedtime story (usopp and robin alternate)

about a month before his birthday, nami started her mission.

luffy does so much for them without even realizing, he deserves a good birthday!!

granted for as many issues hes solved hes probably started 3 more

she told everyone in advance to start getting gifts, as well as party decorations, so everytime they stopped at an island they could keep an eye out for him.

she puts sanji incharge of the food (obviously) and he decides to make the biggest cake possible, tons of different meat, ramen, onigiri, oden.. whatever you can name, he probably made it.

chopper and usopp were in charge of decorations. they got a piñata, streamers, balloons, etc... they wanted it to look as cool as possible

zoro was incharge of drinks, nami said he was allowed to bring as much sake as he wanted, as long as he got equally as much drinks that luffy likes

so when the day comes, the sunny is rested at an island usopp takes him around all day showing him around and have him trying new foods etc... he was having so much fun!!!

when the sun starts to set, usopp tells luffy that they should probably head back

luffy opens the door to the kitchen and then...

"SUPRISE!!"

it takes a while for luffy to register what happened, and he cant for the life of him figure out whats happening, so he pulls usopps arm and takes him aside to ask

"usopppp!!!" he whispers (fairly loudly at that) "what are we celebrating!! is it your birthday?"

at first usopp laughs... then he realizes he was serious...

after nami hit his head a few times they start to celebrate

zoro got luffy a card (lazy ass) he cares so much for luffy and his crew mates and doesnt know how to say it, so the card is fine. luffy doesnt mind either, he loves it in fact. the front was plain and just said happy birthday, but the inside... oh the inside. zoro and chopper drew the whole crew, its messy and doesnt look good at all, theres spilled ink everywhere despite it being drawn in crayon, and a small note at the bottom that says "thank you for being my best friend" he denies writting it but it still makes luffy ugly cry

nami decides to take 300,000 berries off his debt to her.. he was incredibly thankful. she also lets him pick which needle to follow next on her log pose

usopp got him some food and decorations for his beetles collection!!! he made tiny pieces of furniture for the beetles. luffy thinks its so funny

sanji made him food. but he promised to make all of his faves for the rest of the week

chopper gets luffy some new sandals and he even found a rare beetle on the island.

robin gets luffy books that give fun facts about beetles and frogs! she reads it to him bc he cant sit still since hes so excited 😭, when she gets to a fun fact he didnt know he grabs onto her and shakes her a bit, then runs to tell zoro

franky made a mini robot for his beetles to ride, and its literally the funniest thing ever

brook composes a new song about luffy called "the pirate king" :')

jinbei gave him a gift ace gave him a while ago, it was something minor like a letter, jinbei tells him that luffy would take care of it better than he would and luffy frames it in the kitchen

after that luffy says he to have a sleepover with everyone, they usually only have one sleepover a week but they made an exception

in the past luffy never enjoyed his bday, it was just another day to him after all.. but if all of his birthdays were going to be like this from now on? maybe its worth it

Im thinking of the fae hobie series and specifically one of the endings. I need hobie to get revenge like so bad, i cant stop thinking about what could happen if he kills that stupid thing. Even if its a little to late since the cycle is already broken and he wont ever see you again. It gets me trying to think of more positive endings begause like what if hobie cant exist without that thing? Like what if the horrible monster thing and hobies lives are like together. Like both of them have to be alive or neither are, and what if hobie doesnt know that. So when hobies going to get revenge and when he kills the thing, it kills him. (I dont know my minds going to a weird place its like 7am in the morning for me almost 8)

I dont know that series kills me (i need more of fae!hobie, i love him so much if it isn’t obvious) it kills me because no matter what just eating the bread just pushes off the nightshade until later, and hobie feels guilty for letting you live but you cant seem to leave him. Even when you do leave him and break the cycle you never truly leave him. You are his heart and it has basically been torn out of his chest. Im trying to like think of more happy endings even if both are bittersweet because reader will always eventually die. (even though their is none, im just tryna cope with the pain that series gives me)

Man that series kills me and i dont even read it on a daily basis (i think about it on a daily basis it doesnt leave my mind)

I could go on a rant about fae hobie. It’s probably gonna be the exact same with the pirate hobie series, cause i just inow that shits gonna be angsty.

And honestly... raph might actually be the turtle who ended up the MOST different from canon...because when i started thinking, alot of raph's anxiety in canon comes from rangling and protecting 3 unruly brothers, like i know he loves them and he wouldnt trade them for the world, but lets just say, his raph chasm in my au as alot more shallow...

I always liked this quote from The Pirate Loop: "She is nice isnt she? Clever, and able, and she's got lovely hair. Mind you, she likes to talk back to those older and more experienced!"

There's also one from Prisoner of the Daleks where he's stuck with a crew who hate him, and he feels really lonely and thinks to himself how much he wishes Martha or Donna was there. Also, there is a dark haired medic character who 100% reminds him of Martha.

I really liked Martha's quote about the Doctor in 'The Family of Blood' - "He's just everything to me."

The Doctor in 'Last of the Timelords' - "As if I'd ask her to kill."

The Story of Martha about the Doctor (there's loads of gems about him in that one, her love for him is so pure) is one of my all time favourites: "The Doctor had become old, very old - a helpless wizened shell. And that whole bit in 42 when the Doctor gets possessed by the sun and immediately grabs Martha to him because he's just saved her but the sun will use him to kill her if they don't get it out of him. Obviously not nice to see the Doctor in pain, but it's the most revealing of the Doctor we ever see. His greatest fear - to be used to kill, his complete panic in trying to tell her about regeneration because he doesn't want her to leave or have a debacle like 'The Christmas Invasion', and admitting for the first time ever really, that he's scared. And Martha being there for him, to reassure him, asking him to put his faith in her, to trust her, trust that she will save him. Ugh!!

Cater can teach Idia to skateboard, and they can do candy tasting videos together, and Idia can show Cater the wonders of multiplayer and co-op games.

Not that I ever wanted to watch it because of the era it plays in, but what was so awful about Star Wars resistance?

Oh Okay this ask got me GOING so Welcome to my Tedtalk on my feelings on Star Wars Resistance; a story of Disappointment.

So Mr. Dave Filoni, the story telling Prince, left the show like halfway through production of the first season for other projects (For TCW season 7 and The Mandalorian). This left what was a promising show with characters Dave himself had created, in the hands of very inexperienced story board artist and writers. Personally, I think they panicked and half assed it so that Disney could make money on toys. Because.. idk. It just doesn't even come close to the emotional story arcs that TCW and Rebels gave us. and that's what Star Wars is supposed to be about. Changing for the better. Hope or some shit, am I right?

What was most disappointing in my opinion.. is that the protagonist, Kazudo Xiono, is UNBEARABLE. He is the EMBODIEMENT of privilege. This punk has had everything handed down to him from the moment he was born. He was born like 14 years after the Empire has been brought down and the New Republic reigns, so he has never known war. AND HIS DADDY IS THE SENATOR OF HOSNIAN PRIME FOR FUCKS SAKE! THE CAPITOL????? WHERE THE SENATE IS???? YOU KNOW HOW RICH THAT MUST MAKE HIs FaMiLY??? His dad literally gives him an allowance even though he is a grown ass man in the military when the show starts.

To put things into perspective for those not up to date on Sequel Era Lore and I envy you greatly tbh bcs not to be that person i do not like the sequels that's the equivalent of being the Senator of Coruscant in the Prequels!!!!

Not to mention he is a BUMBLING idiot. Like. This man has ADHD on steroids. As a person with ADHD it's.. lord, it's cringe. He is clumsy. He is loud. He says inappropriate things at the wrong time. It would be okay if he entered the show like this and exited a more mature, capable man. But he really doesn't. There are never any consequences for his actions. Ever. Other than when he becomes a spy and, again, IS USING HIS REAL LEGAL NAME as a spy for the Resistance... to avoid a scandal and to scold him for LITERALLY DESERTING THE NAVY his daddy cuts him off from his allowance. So instead of half assing his cover job as a mechanic, Kaz has to actually apply himself so he can make money for food. He doesn't improve much. His co-workers (Who are MUCH more interesting than him) constantly complain about him messing things up and making their jobs more difficult.

At the Season one finale there is a moment where you think he is finally going to grow as a man! Grow into the protagonist we deserve! Tragedy, for the first time in his life, strikes Kaz! It's during the events of episode 7, when The First Order blows up Hosnian Prime. His home planet. Where his FATHER LIVES. He has a moment of humanity and he is devastated. He almost cries. But he sucks it up to finish the mission and get his friends off base for their safety. He is a man now. and the audience feels a sense of comradery for Kaz. After all, Star Wars is about Fathers. Kaz has lost his father forever. His father was KILLED by the First Order. He now, first hand, has experienced real loss for the first time and this is going to help him grow and toughen up. he has to live on his own now. Our hero has a reason to be doing what he's doing. Fighting against the first order.

BUT NAH. FAM. then the very next fucking EPISODE YOU FIND OUT HIS DAD IS FUCKING ALIVE AND THAT HE DIDNT ACTUALLY EXPEIRENCE THE LOSS THAT HE HAD THOUGHT, AND HE GOES RIGHT BACK TO BEING HIS GOOFY ASS CHILDISH SELF. NO. I HATED THAT. THERE WAS NO REASON FOR GROWTH. MAN FUCK RESISTANCE.

FUCK. IF ANYONE DESERVED THEIR FATHER TO LIVE THROUGH A DAMN PLANETORY DESTRUCTION IT WAS MY GIRL LEIA, NOT FUCKING KAZUDO THE CLOWN XIONO. FUCK. guys I'm sorry I just really hate this god damn character.

Like. Lemme break it down, folks.

TCW started and Ahsoka enters. I HATED Ahsoka for a long time. Bcs she was young, cocky and annoying. But that was on purpose. Narratively, she experiences loss, she experiences pain and GROws as a character while navigating her Jedi life during the war. Our girl grows into the capable protagonist that we EXPECT out of a Star Wars story.

Same for Rebels. We meet Ezra, and he's not quite as annoying as Ahsoka was at first in my opinion (I cannot stress how much I did not care for Ahsoka yall) but he was young. He was childish. But he was more capable at 14 than fucking Kaz was at 20. By the end of Rebels, not only is he more wise and capable, but he is selfless. He has found his own path and it's only because of what he has gone through. His journey has made him stronger. Ezra is my favorite Star Wars journey, if I'm being honest. He is the perfect example of character development.

KAZUDO XIONO ENTERS SEASON ONE AS A 20 YEAR OLD MAN-CHILD USING DADDY'S MONEY WHO IS LOUD AND DOESNT KNOW WHEN THE STFU... AND EXITS THE FINALE... AS A LOUD MAN-CHILD WHO CAN NOW USE TOOLS. He doesn't' experience REAL FAMILIAL loss. He doesn't really experience a lot of character development at all. Things just happen around him, he helps, but he doesn't learn. He doesn't grow. I fucking hate that.

Literally every single character in the show BESIDEs Kaz is more interesting than him. and EXPEIRENCE CHARACTER GROWTH!!!

Jarek Yeager, Kaz's boss in the mechanic shop, was in the Rebellion and LOST HIS FAMILY. He is a sexy ass man too. HE starts the show not wanting to help the Resistance at all bcs he's experienced loss since his days in the Rebellion, and his heart is hard and he's comfortable. By the end of the show he is risking not just his career, but his VERY LIFE to help the Resistance.

Tam Ryvora, Kaz's co-worker. Daughter figure to Yeager and a total bad ass woman of color. She is the one on the show who experiences the most character development and struggles to find her identity while the First Order is taking over the galaxy. I LOVE her.

There are these 2 kids who are force sensitive and orphaned after Kylo Ren comits GENOCIDE on their planet. This arc set up is never fully addressed nor does it have a conclusion, like most story arcs on this show tbh.

There's a literal witch for some reason??

There's this fucking rad ass sexy Mirilian Pirate girl named Synara who FOR SOME REASON is suggested to be Kaz's love interest. Gross. Girl, you gay. Move in.

I could go on and on and on. But I wont. Fuck this show. Fuck Kaz. It literally adds NOTHING to the bigger Star Wars lore. TCW and Rebels do this beautifully and this show is a hot mess of ideas and characters that never come to a satisfying story telling conclusion.

(I had to pause a LOT to get through this special)

-Oh s*** Cosmo bug and Astro Noir. That is so cool.

-Okay maybe its my audio, but their voices seem a bit deeper. No big, just something I noticed.

-Okay the yellow flower was cute. Good on you kitty.

- Also, side note. This is very nice animation. Very crisp.

- Marinette is moving on... kinda. Well, she is trying. Its not easy getting over someone you have a thing for. I guess that means Miracle Queen did happen and I will need to suck it up. But.... I am not moving on yet either.

- The puppet show was perfection. And honestly on par with what you would expect from middle school projects. (I almost thought it was the adults showing them and was like WTF)

-BACK THE F***. Madame Bustier is PREGNANT! PREGNANT?! I am so lost? What is the story!? Who is the father! Is she married? Is it artificial insemination! Is it the principal?

-Adrien so moved by Marinette’s outburst of Friendship. Marinette ‘Just a friend’ Dupain-Cheng is going the Tia Gardner method of friendship. Lol

-Marinette ready to fight and Gabriel just like ‘Yea sure whatever’ (Gabriel’s smile murders puppies)

- Kagami trying to cheer adrien up. If you love adrigami, get that juice. (That looked like a kiss kiss, but the angle seemed off, so I am not counting it that way.)

- Kitty Clicker is wonderful. This entire scene is gold.

-  Gorrilla doesnt like planes, poor baby

- Plagg, you are a devious little s***. I love you so much. As a writer, his dialogue on how to convince adrien is so devilish its amazing. Using technicalities to tempt adrien.

-Lukanette shippers get your juice... even if it was still tainted a bit by Adrien inclusion. You still get a kiss.

- Okay, can we appreciate that Adrien is also having the same amount of trouble as Marinette moving on, but also include Guilt into the equation? I love this because you KNOW Chat noir is going to get an ear full later.

-Marinette has totally moved on from Adrien.... Oh my poor sweet little girl. You havent. You havent even a little. This ride is litterally the reverse of Startrain and its amazing. Alya is NOT helping. Also, give the person that drew Marinette’s Daydreams a f***ing raise. They earned it

-Marinette pulling herself OUT of the situation. Now adrien is slightly bummed out. Well i am sure that this is the last awkward experience with Adrien she will have. It isnt like the two of them will get lost in NY together... thats whats gonna happen isnt it?

-Marinette walking past all the couples sleeping together. JULROSE GET YOUR JUICE!!!

-Ah yes, nothing like watching the sunset with your good friend. Yes, you good pal, Adrien. Who is Just a friend. Wow, the realization that Marinette used the word friend in this movie more times then Adrien did in the entire series so far. (Or at the very least close)

- Adrien, STOP! Marinette is trying to move on from you! Stop making it so damn difficult for her. (I am not serious, i am eating this s*** up like Sushi)

-Nino confirms he loves Adrien. ADRINO COME GET YOUR JUICE! But yea, I feel alya and Nino’s pain. So they are going to help them both.

-Adrienette hugs. Yes, good.

-And thank goodness for Techno Pirate! Saving everyone from awkwardness by trying to bring down a plane... thats heading for NY...

-OH SWEET! BATMAN RIP OFF AND Captain Marvel rip off! And their sidekicks, Robin rip off and... Medusa girl? Okay Neat.

-Jokes aside, Majestia and Night Owl are boss as hell.

-Wow, I know that Ladybug and Chat noir got powerups now. But these United Heroes make their powers look so bland in comparison.

-How come New York has a f*** ton of superheroes in this universe? America really gets all the cool stuff regardless of what fictional universe your in.

- Why are the superheroes so keen on watching over Marinette’s class? Do they know? Do they know Marinette and Adrien are there? Or is it like they just want to prevent an international incident. PLEASE LET IT BE THE LATER.

- I have only had Aeon for 15 seconds and I would violently murder anyone who harms her.

- Seems they really hammering it in that Chat noir f***ed up. They right though, but at least Ladybug isnt angry enough to agree that Chat noir should give up his miraculous to some rando. FLEEING FROM THE LAW!

-So lucky charm can only fix damage due to specific villains. It cant fix things when the villain is gone or they are out of range. I always knew it had limitations, but damn. Chat noir REALLY screwed the pooch on this one.

-Adrien no! Oh s***! He cant just... I mean.... He can but...

-Gabriel stole the Eagle! The Kwami of Freedom. The irony is so delicious here.

- So night Owl and Sparrow are both chick with Masculine superhero appearances. Thats actually pretty damn smart, great way to keep people off their identity.

-EVEN THE PRESIDENT IS A SUPER HERO! AMAZING!

- So an akumatized person can USE A MIRACULOUS WHILE AKUMATIZED! WHAT THE F*** THATS AWESOME. Also why didnt catalyst do that?

-Gabriel actually getting adrien out of there while before s*** hits the fan. That is actually kind of a decent parenting move. Granted he is going to cause it, but appreciate it.

-Marinette the bike thief is back! And she is an international criminal!

- She tried so hard. Welp I am glad that Marinette is clearly over... actually no. This trip made that clear.

-Liberation, Wow. That is the most American power I have ever seen. I LOVE IT.

- Okay, so I never thought i would say this. maybe there is such a thing as too much freedom? Or at least Freedom that lets you impede on Other people’s freedoms.

- I know what Zag is up to, and it is working. I want a tv series Of Jess and Aeon. They are wonderful.

-So Majestia can casually move the moon. Yea, thats amazing and terrifying! I love her.

-Quantum masking! So there is a glamor effect! I knew it! So Aeon knows who ladybug and Chat noir are.

-DID I F***ING MENTION I WOULD MURDER FOR AEON!

-aeon will never see Tikki or plagg. Thats so sad.

-At least Adrien learned an important lesson.

-Cute LADYNOIR REUNION

-and Majestia can catch missles. Considering she can move the moon. Not surprising.

-But now sounds like the set up for a new series.

Overall, I did greatly enjoy this movie. Though there were times i wanted to know more, and times I wanted to know less. I know this takes place sometime during season 4, but the exact time is vague. It did tell a really cool story. It felt like a three episode saga combined into one. It was kind of interesting. And damn the drama was higher.

I give it a 7.5/10.

I would rate it up there with my favorite ML episodes.

Ratings of Puddle AUs that I can remember because we have made so many

The Douchebag Ending: Sam goes bonkers yonkers off the gotdam wall. Mary says this is the first one we ever made and I believe her, this one has a lot of art for it, surprisingly not as sad as some of the others we made. The cannibalism part is a little gross, however is it cannibalism if you're only partly human? Questions questions... 10/10

Vampire AU: they're vampires this time. We kinda went down a castlevania route and killed beau, I mean we kill beau a lot, sorry beau. I like this one cause vampires are hot. 9/10

Beau Doesnt Wake Up: Sam kills himself and then Zeke is trapped in a cave yeehaw! 8/10

The AUs of Beau dying and leaving Sam to be a widowed father: the title tells u. Sam can't off himself cause he has a widdle baby(ies) to take care of eheheh get dunked on idiot. Dad Sam always makes me soft tho. 9/10

Highschool AU: they're in highschool, I don't know why, highschool sucks. 8/10

Step-mom Lilith: Sam's ex shows up. It's kind of funny mostly. 8/10

Supernatural AU: Beau is a mermaid and Sam's a werewolf its great! 10/10

Pirate au: Beau is still a mermaid but this time SAM'S A PIRATE. Sam keeps his mermaid bf in a bathtub its great 10/10

Several iterations of Beau in the order:

Beau was given to the order as a babyyy

Sam gave beau up to the order when they were teenagers

Sam dies and Beau gives him and Aliza up to the order

Mostly all boil down the same way, 9/10

Reverse AU: The hunters and their partners switch places in the plot, Dreamwalker Sam, vampire Mick etc etc. I dont think we really thought abt this beyond how annoying Sam would be as a dreamwalker. 8/10

Personality switch: Mick and Pat switch personalities, incredibly funny 10/10

Mafia AU: Sam's in the mafia and Beau wears a pretty red dress, what else could you want? 10/10

Miraculous AU; Ezzy was chat noir and ppl confused my drawing of him to Sam, all according to keikaku. 9/10

Sam moves on AU: quite possibly the saddest AU we've made, it's just very bittersweet and has made me cry, contains very many spoilers so idk if I'll actually write what it's about. We liked it so much we decided to change parts of canon ;) 10/10

Sam never left and him and beau got married when they were originally supposed to AU: this AU created their second child Zekey, and then we got attached to him and made him canon...

I can't remember why we made Ezzy, Zekeys twin but I do remember Mary was like "what if they had a stillborn" and I got so mad and I think that's where Ezzy came from lol

Evil Ezzy AU: this was actually Ezzy's original character concept, he was supposed to be eviiil but also his character was and remains very sad and we grew very attached so now hes a very good boy and everyone loves him 9/10

Moral of the story, we can't make unique characters for AUs because we easily get attached

Animatronic/FNAF Hawks au

💜You were broke and need of a job, so you didnt question it when that mysterious add showed up.

💜The job seemed relatively easy and paired too much for what it was asking. All you had to do is watch over a kids pizzeria at night. Better yet you didnt even have to walk aroound, just watch monitors.

💜Tonight was your first night, and you were excited. You could probably sleep on the job or just play your phone, easy money. You unlock the door and make your way to the office. Along the way you notice how everything feels off, only ever so slightly.

💜Along the way you peep through some rooms. You look into the supply room. Instantly you're filled with joy. You love animatronics!

💜You look at the endoskeleton sitting on the table for a second and turn to go on your way but stop. You swear its head moved. You look back at it but it's still looking at the wall. Weird...

💜You arrive at the office and take a seat in the spinning chair. You thought it was going to be more comfy.

💜You fall out of the chair as a static recording plays. Its voice booming and almost panicked as it explains your job. You pale as you hear that the animatronics like to move at night.

💜You panic more as the voice wishes you luck and turns off. Stay calm. You grab the tablet and begin checking the monitors. You click on the main stage and see the main three animatronics.

💜The bunny was named Mirko atleast, that's what phone guy said. She has long ears and a guitar strapped to her. First impression: she's too gorgeous to be an animatronic.

💜There was another female one but you can place what animal, her name is Mount Lady. There wasnt much to her besides the cupcake she was holding. First impression: bland but you dont think you should ever say that near her.

💜Lastly, you see the animatronic in the middle. He was a lot bigger than the two and was a lot more intimidating. His name is Endeavor. He has a little top hat on that makes him look ridiculous and a microphone in hand. He gives off big bear vibes. First impression: very intimidating but looks like he could have a soft side.

💜You were so deep in thought that you almost screamed when the camera was suddenly filled with static. You flip to another camera then back to see Mirko had moved. Your heart quickened as you try to find her. You locate her in the supply room staring at the empty table.

💜Wait.... where was the endoskeleton?

💜You watch Mirko. It's almost as if she's angry even if her face was built with a permanent smile. Her head slowly starts moving upwards towards the camera. You eyes meet and she tilts her head. Can she see you?

💜Her heavy steps sound through the pizzeria, slowly getting closer. The cameras arent helping, as they are static filled.

💜You swallow your fear and look out the left door down the corridor. There you see her and she sees you. Her steps speed up and you fumble to close the door. Only after a few seconds there was banging at the door.

💜You turn on the light and jump seeing how Mirko was pressed up against the glass. You proceed to tell her that you're not the endoskeleton. He agression halts and she looks at you intrigued.

💜No nightguard was ever so nice talking to Mirko.

💜She tries to speak but her voice box was damaged. You perk at the sound and tell her you'll help if she doesnt stuff you into a suit. She agrees.

💜You hesitantly open the door and gawk at how big she was. She gives a broken laugh then looks at you expectantly. You lead her to the supply room and look for tools. You had some knowledge with mechanics.

💜You sit her on the table and start introducing yourself. She gives broken answers that slowly get more recognizable the more you tinker.

💜Finally you fix her voice and she gleefully drags you to the other two to fix them. They seemed shocked seeing Mirko talking but more so when she explains you fixed her. The other two quickly get in line so you can fix them too.

💜Maybe this job wasnt so bad.

💜The first two nights were a blast! Mirko soon became your bestfriend with Endeavor slowly working his way there. Mount Lady was more... annoying in your opinion but you were still happy to be her friend.

💜Tonight you were checking the cameras and notice something new at pirate's cove. There was an eye staring at you from behind a curtain. Mirko walks up to you asking what you're doing and you how her the camera. She explains that that's Hawks and he is more shy than the others due to people tearing him apart.

💜Even though you've never met him you could help but feel bad. You also wanted to got and fix him but if he was shy you didnt want to spook him.

💜You get distracted talking to Mirko that you dont notice him slowly creep out behind the curtain. When you look back at the monitor there was no sign of Hawks.

💜Mirko sighs at the heavy footsteps that make their way towards you. She clicks the button closing the door and you jump at the loud thud from him hitting the door. She then tells at him to be nice and if he wanted to meet you he couldn't kill you. There was a distorted scream in response. She opens the door to reveal an adorable angry boi.

💜He was very attractive just like Mirko but has much more damage parts. The was a large gash in his chest with smaller ones on his arms, he had a leg and a hand missing, one wing torn off his back, and his left eye was gone. First impression: You want to fix him.

💜You try to start small talk with him but he refuses to respond due to his lack of trust in you. Once you start fixing him and Mirko telling him how you fixed the others, he seems to like you more. Once his voice starts working again he instantly starts to bicker with Mirko. It wasnt anything bad, just cute friend banter.

💜You were able to repair most of him besides his hand and wing. You apologize but both Mirko and him reassure you that you did an amazing job.

💜Mirko walks off and you're left with Hawks. Quickly the two of you become friends.

💜Soon 6am hits and you pack up to leave. Hawks doesn't like this. He tries to get you to stay but you end up winning that battle.

💜As soon as you walk into the pizzeria he's at your side. You find it cute, merely thinking that he was afraid to lose his friend.

💜The two of you spent the whole night together seeing little to none of Mirko, mich to your concern. The second you try to mention her he quickly changes the subject.

💜Around 5am you grow sad. Hawks questions why and you explain to him this was a one time job and that tomorrow was your last day. You can see the anger bubble within him and he slowly stands and walks away. You try to stand and walk after him but he pushes you back and closes the door behind him.

💜You leave that morning confused and with an unsettling feeling blossoming in your gut.

💜You arrive that night and are greeted by no one. You push aside your fear and walked cautiously through the halls. You make it to the office and jump seeing a new animatronic.

💜New was a stretch, a different animatronic that what you're used to. His body was tinted gold but was also covered in a thin coat of dirt. He was very big and had the biggest smile you've seen. His name was All Might. He looks at you with worry before whispering a single word. Run.

💜You jump and look around for the source of the loud sound. After finding nothing you look back at All Might only to see he disappeared.

💜You shiver as you hear your name being called out in a low, dangerous voice. Hawks.

💜Against your better judgment and All Might's warning you stay, watching Hawks slowly appear from behind the corner.

💜He tries to hug you but you step back. He doesnt like that.

💜Knowing you you'll never outrun him, you think fast. Grabbing one of the many metal tools scattered around the office, you strike the leg you repaired knowing it was the strongest.

💜He cries in pain and falls to the ground. How can an animatronic feel pain?

💜You take no time to think about that as you run.

💜He cries out for you but you keep running. You hadn't paided attention to where you were running and ended up at Pirate's Cove. You stop to breath but the air smells stale and is filled with the smell of decay. Confused, you look around.

💜You pull back the curtain and freeze in horror. The others were dismembered and oozing blood. How? How can they bleed? They arent real!

💜Hawks walks up behind you and corners you. He seems disappointed but proceeds to tell you a story. Long ago when the four of them were kids, they were friends. It was Endeavor's birthday but back then he was called Enji. Mirko, Rumi, and Mount Lady, Yu, were like sisters while Enji and Hawks, Keigo, had more of a mentor student relationship. They came to this pizzeria because it was herp themed and they all dreamed of being heroes. Enji had just made a wish to be number on hero when a man with weird black breathing mask approached them. His visible skin was wrinkled and burnt but they didnt say anything about it. The man asked what Enji wished for and when he got his answer he asked if the others wanted the same. When they all agreed he offered to show them what they'd look like as pros. He led the four kids to the back room and showed them their future selves and watched amused. The kids didnt notice when Rumi screamed and was stuffed into her hero self and how Yu sobbed over her. Keigo only saw the moment Enji was stuffed. He tried to run but was caught and stuffed. The next day they were forced onto stage while Keigo was forced to entertain the younger crowd. The younger kids didnt know how to keep their hands to themselves, resulting in Keigo being put out of order. That was untill, you showed up.

💜You whimper as he finishes his story and caresses your cheek. He gently tries to calm you before saying he loves you.

💜You mind rushes, everything make so much more sense. How they can feel, think, and bleed....

💜You're pulled out of your thoughts as a sharp metal feather pierces your gut. You cry but he shushes you as he carries you to a different room. You were unable to tell which due to you passing out.

💜You wake up on stage with Keigo in the audience. He claps an tells you to sing. When you refuse he yells and screams at you. Voice breaking and tears falling down your metal cheeks, you comply.

💜This was your forever. Stuck in a body the had no warmth and stuck in a relationship that you had no love for. All you can hope is for someone to come fix you.

Look, I love them all but these have a special place in my heart.

Quackity, Slimecicle (I am fully aware he just joined but I still love him), Schlatt, Tubbo, Eret, AweSamdude, and Ponk.

They're just great in and out of character and just have comforting vibes.

when did you first start watching the smp and what made you get into it?

I gotten in during the Pogtopia era since it took me a while to get access to the streams.

I mainly gotten in with the Sad-ist War animatics along with me trying to catch up on Quackity's VODS. Just someone that I was already familiar with being an easier shift into story and learning others through him

what is your favourite part about watching the smp?

Just watching everyone interact with other and just seeing the plot progress in real time. Its literally just dnd but with extra steps but I enjoy it so much

The improv that they all do is amazing and how everyone have different approaches to their characters makes my writer's side so happy with dissecting everything.

What piece of cursed lore is your favourite

That Wilbur canonically fucked a fish and Philza canonically fucked a Samasung fridge and just seeing the fanbase try to change into something that will at least make a bit more sense.

Im included in this, I basically joined the side that has Sally being a mermaid shapeshifting pirate. Mainly because of pirate Fundy

Schlatt and Quackity: They managed to be super funny together with all of the jokes and balanced with making a very realistic abusive relationship work. It was always fun seeing them flirt with each other for a joke then get hit with whiplash when canon comes in to remind me that this isnt healthy

Tubbo and Tommy: They're two dumbasses who share the same braincell but then they constantly lose it and Tubbo mainly has custody of it

Wilbur and Schlatt: I just enjoy seeing Schlatt messing with Wilbur and occasionally flirts with him to get Wilbur more pissed off

Quackity: Just how he managed to make his character seem so basic but in reality its really complex. And just seeing the shift from him being a chaotic force of nature to being a serious character that is trying his best to reach something that has been hanging over his head is just *chefs kiss* and he always delivers amazing lines on the spot.

BadBoyHalo: He is doing great right now, even though he is a bit rusty with starting he still manages to get into character and stay in character the entire time. When slowly easing in, you can tell its a bit forced but once he finds his footing, he knows how to deliver his lines.

AweSamdude: His entire bit where he was getting rescued from the egg fucking hurt. How he sounded weak from the entire thing and tired to where he just wanted to rest was so well. And I know he can act more energetic when he was accidentally dragged into playing a cop during Quackity's and Bad's date

Fundy: You guys need to give him more praise for his acting because he is fucking amazing at it. The little touches to how he voice when speaks is so good along with his body language in game. He knows what he's fucking doing and I love him for that. And when he snapped, it made complete sense if you payed attention to his character

I didnt add Ranboo because he's automatically at the top section due to him being a dnd player. Same goes to Slimecicle even though he hasnt acted yet. I dont make the rules. You play dnd, you know how to act

Before Doomsday, Quackity going to take his horse far away from L'Manberg, it being the one thing he cares about. It was just so good

The entire Schlatt and Quackity argument in front of the white house

The meeting between Schlatt and Quackity with Schlatt yelling out to him in a taunting way to where Tommy and Quackity are trying to figure out what happened to the tnt. I constantly rewatch it to feel the adrinaline pumping to feel something

Wilbur's slow descend into insanity and talking to Tommy. Just showing his paranoia and fears consuming him, him projecting his fears into Tommy as an attempt of manipulation, and his hero complex shift into villian one

Schlatt's winning speech of him projecting it as something that was bound to happen no matter what. The amount of charisma and confidence that was in his voice as I was watching Tommy hiding underground in fear was just a perfect scene

Tommy's argument with Dream when everyone is protecting Tommy. Its the small details of Tommy taunting Dream to kill him, knowing he wont no matter what. Him telling everyone to protect Tubbo and everyone listening without hesitation.

The debate that Quackity and Dream had for like 11 or 14 minutes. All of that was completely unprompted unscripted, it was just so satisfying seeing someone stand up against Dream for the first time and actually beating him. Sure it was in a verble conflict but it still counts as a defeat

Im sorry, but all of the Jackbox stream. You need a specific group of people to play together in order to actually make it funny and keeping the energy throughout the entire thing.

After a bit later, everyone has a tendency of pandering to the audience and repeat jokes. They managed to beat jokes to the ground faster than Tiktok AND Twitter.

Dont get me started with DreamTeam being in there. They're funny in thier own rights but the shipping jokes get so unfunny so quick and they dont know how bounce off of others well. The only exception to this is when Quackity, Velvet, and Ant were playing with Sapnap and Dream. And thats because they decided to mess with the straight white guys into accidently saying offensive shit and seeing those two suffer with trying tiptoe around was so amusing

Whats something about the smp fandom thay makes you sad

This doesnt get me sad, just frustrated and its mostly towards dsmptok and dsmptwt but sometimes this fandom doesnt fucking know how to analyze characters. Like when everyone jumped on Tubbo on being the bad guy when he was a kid trying to use old tatics that knows that worked before and stand up for himself

How when one person decides to do something that they believe is right, everyone just throws the term villian arc around

When one person does one good thing the suddenly everyone accepts into them being good and not ever looking into it.

For fucks sakes, I saw people keep saying that Quackity was turning into Dream or Wilbur and I just sat there being confused on how they conntected those dots that were in different books.

Its so frustrating to read through. But here on dsmpblr, you guys actually understand character analysis, are able to critique them and able to love whoever you enjoy.

Another thing is how this fanbase really puts everyone on a pedestal or objectify them. Just completely forgetting that they're human and treat the streamer as a character. Like, yeah they're playing up a persona whenever they're making content but theres a difference and you shouldn't hold them up like that.

You cant use the argument of "They're young, they dont know any better", when I first entered my first fandom (I was like 11/12), I fully understood that theres a boundary between me and the creator. What they are on screen is a persona but they're still human and I should treat them as such. Its just something that bugs me and its unnerving to see whenever people start getting wierd about it

Final bit is just how the twitch chat acts. They all force the streamer to follow the 'main' plot of it being Tommy or Techno or whoever the fandom chooses to have a favorite, completely ignoring the fact that they are their own character. No one wants to meta game because where is the fun in that but the fucking chat gets so annoying when the streamer goes against fanfavorite of the week. It drains the fun of it being multiple pov's and different characters.

When Slimecicle was barely starting stream I saw so many people spam "Go with Ranboo" and not let him even get into lore first. I hated that I knew it was coming but it was still so fucking frustrating seeing them try to boss him around. Please just let people live outside of the 'main' plot, not everything revolves around your favorites. Now shut the fuck up and let them play

jester and sexuality/romantic inclinations

so, this is my last day of summer break (actually the day before last, but tomorow is monday) and I decided to put into words what my thoughts about this dicey, dicey subject are. First, these are solely my opinons based on 1) watching the second campaign, 2)watching talks machina and the meta knowledge that comes with that and 3) assuming the players are playing in good faith and are open minded to organic changes that might come to their characters along the way.

and second, I do have my biases, and I come from the following inclinations: I ship lavorregard, and I don’t believe Jester is straight.

That said let’s begin. I’ve written a far amount about the lavorregard ship, but mostly focused on Beau’s feelings and her perspective. Right before the ep that Beau reveals the crush to Nott I wrote the following: “ If I were to put a chronology on Beau’s feelings for Jester it would go something like that: 1)“This girl is cute and somehow I like her way more than I usually like, well, anybody” 2) “This girl is cute and we are… friends???” 3) “This girl is cute, we are friends and I love her” 4) “We are friends, I love her AND I think she is hot” 5) “This girl is hot, I love her and maybe I love her as more than friends?”

But last ep I think it shifted to, “I’m definetely into Jester as more than friends and she’s never been hotter AND I think I’m getting to a point where I’m ready to actually process my feelings regarding that and be open about it.”

And lo and behold, the very next ep we saw Beau actually processing her feelings when talking to Nott. But what about Jester?  

         I’ve seen some people express the idea that “wouldn’t it be galaxy brain if all three cr ladies had independently decided when creating their characters that they are lesbians?” and honestly, while a cute thought, I don’t think that’s what’s happening. In my opinion what happened was, Marisha created Beau as a lesbian and she made sure to make that clear as possible from the get go, and one of the reasons I think she did that is because she entered the campaign looking to avoid a pc/pc romance, since the one she was in in cr1 took such a toll on her. She probably figured it would be a safe bet, playing a lesbian she would shield herself from the male characters and most likely the other female characters would not be interested in Beau, right?

      Enter Ashley Johnson. Honestly I don’t think Ashley had such a clear idea that Yasha was (or is) a lesbian. She had a wife, and from what has been said in canon Zualla was her only romantic and sexual relationship. Now, from what we’ve seen Yasha hasn’t expressed any interest in men, but to be fair she hasn’t really expressed interest in much anybody. She called Jester adorable in the very first ep and she seems to be fond of Beau’s flirtations even if not directly responding to them. The conversation where Yasha has said that she has “seen {Beau} a lot” coupled with one of the songs in Yasha’s playlist has me convinced that Yasha has some kind of feelings for Beau, even if is just a small crush. And I say this as someone who doesnt ship Beau/Yasha. I don’t think they would make a good match, but that doesn’t mean I’d deny either of them having interest in the other. But that doesn’t mean Yasha is for sure a lesbian who would never engage with a men ever. She seems pretty adamant on not having any romantic connections, so its hard to gauge really where her interests lie. She is for sure though a wlw. 

      Now, when it comes to Jester and Laura Bailey that’s when things get complicated. I would assume that most of us that have considered the possibility of Jester not being straight have read the excellent essay on comphet by tumblr user fuzzy-face ( https://fuzzy-face.tumblr.com/post/185001577009/you-make-your-own-fairytale-jester-comphet ), so I’m not gonna rehash what she’s said already. While I do agree almost wholeheartedly with this post, I’ll say this, I don’t think Laura Bailey when creating Jester set out to tell a story of a wlw learning how to overcome comphet. But (BUT!,!) I also don’t think her idea was Jester is totally straight and that’s that! I think she created Jester as a sexually and romantically inexperienced young woman that almost immediately got a crush on Fjord because, among other reasons, he reminded her of a hero from her smut books. 

       Recently, with the new upload of talks to the CR youtube channel, I rewatched this talks: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZqJzNj_1tI , which is about the ep a Hole in the Plan, deep into the pirate arc, but before the first big Beau/Jester moment, the conversation they had in the boat on ep 46. First I must express my annoyance  at the fact that Laura and Marisha are the guests and yet at least 80% of the questions are about Fjord. I know it was in his arc, but COME ON! Also I was very surprised by how open they are talking about Fjord/Jester as if it were a done deal alaready. When anyone involved in Talks claim that they don’t do shipping questions, you should show them this ep because it is all about shipping questions. Anyways, Laura clearly states that Jester has a crush on Fjord (at the time at least) and she compares it to a super intense high school crush. So to me there is no refuting the fact that at least at some point Jester had a crush on Fjord. 

    What I do find it interesting is when you compare her answers in that talks to what she said in the most recent talks she’s participated  ( https://youtu.be/_NmZ2b_Q3So ) which seem to at least indicate that Jester has, on a level or another, moved on from said crush. It’s also, the now infamous moment where Laura talks about Jester’s crush...es. We’ll get back to that.

     That’s all good and dandy, but this is meta outside the game. Let’s go analyze actual in-game developments. As far as I can remember (and I’m not an expert in Fjord/Jester, so I might be forgetting something) these are the moments Jester spoke directly or inderectly about her crush on Fjord; when Caleb point blank asked her if she was sweet on him (to which she answered “I don’t know” and let’s keep that in mind); when she talked to nott about first kisses and the best thing she can say about it is that it didnt make her feel dead, and to me the most significant moment; when she asks the traveler  how to make a boy like her. Now, I’ve seen some people band about this as irrefutable proof that Jester IS straight, otherwise she wouldnt be asking the traveler advice about boys, but in this case she wasn’t talking about boys in general, she was talking about ONE boy and that was Fjord. 

      And that’s the crux of the matter isn’t it? Jester has demonstrated sexual/romantic interest in one man and one man alone, and that’s fjord. That does not mean she is straight. It doesn’t even mean that she, if a wlw, is bi. Her crush on Fjord has been wrapped around in all these expectations and I think its hard to parse how much was just projecting, among other things, the romance her parents had. Also, let me comment on how all these developments were long ago, during the pirate arc, over one year ago in real time.

     Jester has commented about Fjord’s appearance and Caleb’s and even pointed out to Reani that hot boi Essek was hot, but its all done very matter-of-factly. And if we are going to talk about Jester commenting on people’s apperances we have to acknowledge how Jester cannot SHUT UP about how she finds women beautiful. From Beau to Nott, from Reani to random shop girl in Uthodurn and her obssession with the Bright Queen in particular its all very in your face. Once someone wanted to argue with me that this is just how straight girls air their insecurities, and even if that’s true and not just misogyny, the only time Jester commented on a woman’s apperance with any kind of insecure note was one time when she compared herself to her mother.  

     Look, the thing is, if we take at face value every comment Jester has made about Fjord’s looks and strenght, we also have to take at face value how distraught she looked and sounded facing the idea that Beau’s new vestiments wouldn’t let her abs show. Is it funny? Yes, but it’s funny for the idea that Jester is very appreciative of Beau’s abs, which, I’m still waiting for the straight explanation if anyone if willing to give me. 

     To end, this goddamned book that I’ve started, the thing that gives me the most certainty that Jester is not straight and that a Beau/Jester romance is not only possible but likely is that I do not believe Laura Bailey is cruel. If she had no interest in exploring the possibility of a not-straight Jester and a B/J romance she wouldn’t been doing what she has been doing for awhile now.

     And what do I mean about that? I mean that even before Beau’s confession there’s been a different dynamic to their relationship. I already mentioned the “but can I see her abs????” incident, but also her encouragement about beau’s qualities and abilities (beau, you’re super strong), using the traveler as a proxy to her feelings (the traveler thinks you’ll do great, the traveler thinks you’re awesome, the traveler loves you), waiting to hold beau when she went up a column and showing disapointment when she didnt fell into her arms, listening to Beau regarding her wanting to confront her dad, being super, and I mean SUPER bummed out when Beau and Reani kissed and took a walk. And after the confession things ramped up.

   Like, that was Laura Bailey listening to the conversation between Nott and Beau, not Jester. She could have had continued to play out their friendship as usual, but that’s not what she did. She used this opportunity to play the romantic possibility as never before. Making sure that Jester shielded Beau’s body in combat, being VERY specific that when her double cured her, she leaned over her body and put her hands to her face and even contradicting Matt, pointing out that when she woke up, it wasn’t the laughing hand that she first saw, but Jester’s face. And then there’s ep 89, the juiciest lavorregard ep since ep 46. It’s romantic comedy set up, one character confesses their love to a third one, and the one character who is the target of that love starts a conversation with “Are you avoiding me? Because I think I know why.” That’s a romantic trope ladies and gents, and Laura Bailey the genius she is played it to perfection. Not being sure why she was so upset about not curing Beau (a sentiment that battle mercy Jester has never expressed before). Wanting to punish Beau’s dad for not treating her right, getting to an agreement after arguing about tarot and molly. Afterwards engaging Fjord in an activity that she usually associates with beau, that goes disastrously and thanks to the dice gods, I could see, in real time the comphet melting away.

And concluding with the fact that she bet 20 extra gold on Beau on the down low.

So coming back to the idea of Jester having crush...es, to me is very clear those crushes are, the one she has/had on Fjord and her new emerging one on Beau. do I think Jester herself is aware of these feelings? Not really, but Laura sure is.

     look this is not about being entitled or acusing anyone of queerbaiting if my ship doesnt pan out. its just, you know, laura’s sister is a lesbian, and I do think that gives people some perspective that they might not have, and I genuinely don’t think she would be playing things as she is, if she didn’t have any interest in playing out to the end.

My review of Folklore (first listen feelings)

The 1 - "I'm on some new shit" 🥰🥰. Chill vibes feeling very soothing. If you never bleed you're never gunna grow!! If my wishes came true it woulda been you!! Never leaving well enough alone HUH TAYLOR I see you there. The ending Oooohoooohoh

Cardigan - the slinky feel is amazing. I absolutely love the vibe and the softness in the lyrics. Friend to all is a friend to none. You drew stars around my scars but now I'm bleeding. Marked me like a bloodstain. Peter losing wendy. The imagery!! When you are young they assume you know nothing and then switching straight to "I knew you".... the way she's playing with emphasis is lovely. You'd come back to me/you could stay parallel.

Tlgad - ooh the beat is cool on this one. Only so far new money goes. Oh snap. This is so cutting. Her fault it fell down. She had a marvellous time ruining everything. Pool with champagne again huh. Card game bets. Most shameless woman this town has ever seen. So many implications of "they say". Again with the different style of emphasis. So this is the story of taylors house? Love it. LOUDEST WOMAN this town has ever seen. I had a marvellous tiiiiiIIIIiiiime ruining everything.

Exile - you're not my homeland anymore so what am I defending??? Also the use of films, a recurrent theme in taylors music since fearless. The low register of taylors voice.... delicious. Those eyes add insult to injury. Who am offending now? The step up in piano pace. The echoing vocals. Walked a very thin line. The swell of vocals overlapping. The contradictions and the almost argumentative nature of the vocals is great. Lyrically I'm getting Cold As You/White Horse vibes for some reason?

My tears ricochet - the opposing oohs in each ear is so eerie but I love it? If I'm on fire you'll be made of ashes too. Hero imagery is strong in this album. Same jewels I gave you to bury me... dang. I can anywhere I want just not home... just after the song exile is so powerful. Stolen lullabyes!! The way she repeats but changes the lyrics is so good.

Mirrorball - layering of vocals is beautiful. Shining just for you. Confessional nature of the song echoing the sadness. Masquerade revellers. How can she sing 'rodeo clowns' and its sad and mournful and not jokes? Still on that trapeze trying everything to keep you looking at me.

Seven - lol tay you didnt peak at 7 😂. This is also gay. We can be pirates and you wont have to cry is so soft and also badass. Used to scream ferociously!! I still got lOove for you. Move to india together? I love this so much. Passing down stories in folk songs. This is soft and sweet. Outro is like a melancholy dance.

August - the melody of this song is perfect. August slipped away into a moment of time. The way that the vocals step back at that part? Is so good? She is really playing with the arrangements of instruments and vocals and its so interesting. You werent mine to lose! Twisting in bedsheets.... hello daylight. Cancelled my plans in case you called... living for the hope of it all. The way that line echos and switches sides and moves throughout the arrangement is so cleverly done.

This is me trying - afterglow and btd vibes. The arrangement swells and beats are kind of off putting but in a good way? I got wasted like all my potential - THIS LYRIC IS ME. Pouring my heart out to a stranger - also me. This song is attacking me personally. For real taylor. Bridge feels a little forced ... hm. But I do love the "at least I'm trying" part.

Illicit affairs - wow this is so deep and dark. Tell them you're going for a run... cause you'll be flushed. The force behind "HIM". A dwindling mercurial high! The fact that she says die then lie in the second verse. Dont call me kid dont call me baby look at this godforsaken mess that you made me. Showed me colours you know I cant see with anyone else. This is heartbreaking. SECRET LANGUAGE I CANT SPEAK WITH ANYONE ELSE. This song is attacking me also.

Invisible string - loving the little jig of strings, kind of safe and sound/eyes open reminiscent. Focusing on colours as a means to remember - a theme in her work. Seeeeeeee and Meeeeeeeee is so lovely. It is pretty to think there was some invisible string all along. SINGLE THREAD OF GOLD taaaaylor. Now she sends their babies presents 🥰. I just love the run on "me" and "oh".

Mad woman - they strike to kill and you know I will. You made her like that. This song is giving me chills. Wow. The faint record scratches. Breathe flames every time I talk. Women like hunting witches too. Wanting me dead has brought you two together. RIP Kimye. Nothing like a maaaaaad *deep voice* woman. Master of spin has a couple of side flings... should be scathing like me but no one likes a mad woman. Lyrical artistry. Kind of Better Than Revenge vibes?

Epiphany - swell into the song is a slow build which is very true to the name of the song. The "keep" note is so raw and open? Again this is so different from her usual style. Down/down is giving me chills. Something med school didnt cover - you mean all of it tay? Voice dipping at hold your hand through plastic now is.... good. I feel this may also be about her mother/COVID? A fading outro. This song has me all kinds of confused

Betty - guitar and harmonica is so nostalgic? Riding on my skateboard is the new scooter. This is so gay. Also love the way she uses "garden". The emphasis on words is so unique in this song. The juxtapositions in this song are so great. Also wtf did they do to betty? The way she links words is so reminiscent of the way people think and wish about things and hope and dream of stuff. It feels like authentic to the way thoughts swirl and a stream of consciousness but also very lyrically sound. Excellent songwriting!

Peace - love the spacey intro and the highpaced ticking alongside the slower string piece. I could never give you peace ... feels like the beat vs the calm strings. Dreamscapes on the wall. I'm wasting your honour and then a soft piano added to the mix. Kind of the middle ground between the two. Give you a child 👀. Robbers to the east and clowns to the west. Taylor maybe he wants rain. They think its for show but I would die for you in secret. Keep your brittle fire warm.

Hoax - like a 3 note intro! Eclipsed sun 😪 the sad vibes. Windless fight. These images are so forlorn. The echoing melodies are adding to this vibe. Faithless love is the only hoax I believe in?? Ugh BLUE is back. Love the imagery of this song. The cliffside. The barren love. The hoax of love. She doesnt want any other sadness. Still hurts under my scars from when they pulled me apart? What YOU DID WAS JUST AS DARK? Wow. She been hurt. Again the places she is putting emphasis is very different from her usual songwriting. Longer outro than intro is also very different for taylor. Interestiiiiing.

Hi. I really enjoy your blog and thank you for being so positive. All the negativity about last night's ep bothers me. I would love to see Dean/Cas finally have that big moment, but it wouldnt make for good story telling if we got it so easily. I have felt since s12...we are getting real personal growth! I also feel something big is coming for Dean/Cas with how they have kept them apart and all the emotional baggage getting adressed. There has been no hug either and there is so much unsaid. ❤

Yeah, I mean... I watch the show with the full knowledge that no matter how important Dean and Cas’s relationship is, even to the actual structure of the narrative, the way they’re writing the story and the actual focus of the main plot... will never focus that directly on destiel. This doesn’t mean I think destiel isn’t A Thing they are writing, just that Who Dean Is As A Person and Who Cas Is As A Person both take narrative precedence over the potential for a textual romantic relationship going forward for them.

I have no idea how to say that without sounding negative about it or drawing wank on it, which is why I don’t usually attempt to state it so blatantly in public. But I am 100% not negative about this. I’m just speaking about it from a narrative structure perspective here, which I’ve been yelling FOR LITERAL YEARS bears a close resemblance to the structure of 1001 Nights, and the Scheherazade/Shahryar relationship. Their romance is NEVER in the foreground of the tale, and yet somehow the entirety of 1001 Nights IS THE OVERARCHING STRUCTURE OF THEIR ROMANCE. Other aspects of the story are more pressing (like Scheherazade having sacrificed herself in the attempt to stop other women from being killed every morning, but not actually wanting to die herself because She Is Smart and Has A Plan and showed up with a buttload of awesome stories to slowly guide her plan to fruition). All those stories she weaves, in the gaps between them, she and Shahryar slowly fall in love. It’s not something they confess out loud, but it is something they both gradually begin to feel and to understand. Their interpersonal side-plot grows slowly, over 1001 actual nights of storytelling and companionship, and it takes nearly THREE YEARS of constant nightly stories, never letting one story end at the wrong time (at daybreak, when Shahryar might choose to kill her, but always timing it JUST RIGHT so that he’d ask for another story to fill the hours until dawn... which would inevitably be interrupted on a cliffhanger with words unspoken still between them... interrupting moose, anyone? That would be Scheherazade’s sister, Dunyazade, who accompanied her on what was supposed to be Scheherazade’s literal last night on Earth, but whose prompting and strategic interruptions actually furthered the romantic tension growing between Scheherazade and Shahryar, preventing their story from coming to an end too soon).

So while Scheherazade and Shahryar and their slow fall into love with one another is literally fundamental to the entire narrative, there was no way for any of it to pay off before the end of the larger narrative, you know?

If Scheherazade can patiently continue spinning out her stories, setting her own eventual (hopeful!) personal happiness aside because she sees the bigger picture at stake, then I can certainly wait until the end of Supernatural, however long it continues until its story is finally done.

Does this mean I’m saying that romantic love confessions and a clear, undeniable canon romantic relationship will factor in to the ending of the series? Nope. I have no guarantees to offer. But it does mean that as long as the show keeps factoring the fundamental importance of their relationship into the larger overarching narrative, as well as their own personal character arcs, and continuing to poke at it both through narrative mirrors and textually laying Big Questions for them out on the table, then I’m gonna be Scheherazade about it.

Every episode begins (emotionally, for me) with the Dread Pirate Roberts having spared Westley’s life because of True Love, and telling him “I’ll most likely kill you in the morning.” But then he doesn’t... and he continues not killing him, because it was all about true love. (yes, I’m saying the Princess Bride is a twist on the 1001 Nights narrative, at least insofar as The Dread Pirate Roberts persona goes. I mean... the parallel goes a lot deeper than this, into so much more of the metaphorical journey, the Hero’s Journey to prove himself worthy to his True Love, the quest for justice when he doubts the strength of that love to transcend death, after it was literally stolen away from him... I mean, this parallel also runs deep).

So that’s where we are with destiel. I’m perfectly 100% happy with that. Because I’m content to engage with the narrative they are actually presenting, and not delusionally projecting my own desire for Dean and Cas to just be happy now onto it in a way that it just does not exist in canon, you know?

All that said, YES. How long has it been since we’ve had a simple, “Hello, Dean.” Or even a HUG between them... since 13.06? YIKES THAT IS A WHILE. And we didn’t even get to hear the Hello, Dean at the end of 13.05 that we all yelled at the TV to fill that silent gap when Dean answered the phone and it was Cas calling him.

I choose to believe that the show is following their own unofficial theme song in this regard, though. They’ll be able to be happy at the end of the road. “There’ll be peace when you are done.” And until then, they’ve got a lot of road to cover, and a long way to go, and a lot of extraneous baggage to deal with. But they’re getting there, because they’ve always been headed there, even when they weren’t entirely sure where “there” was, you know?

But now we know Dean DOES know, at least in a general way. He’s not longing for a life that isn’t his anymore. He doesn’t feel cheated out of the white picket fence, apple pie life anymore. He’s made his own family (which absolutely does include Cas), and he recognizes there’s still work for them to do, but Dean himself is good with that. He’s in a strangely healthier place than he’s ever been in his whole entire life, including 4-year-old him who never knew death and fire and tragedy.

And that’s absolutely something to carry forward, wherever the road may lead.

And that’s also why I’ll eternally be frustrated with fandom bitterness over the literal structure of the entire narrative. I mean, this is not gonna change. This is the main story they are telling, and how they’re telling it. I only hope that being able to get some perspective on that will help people keep all of this in mind and truly appreciate the beauty of it all. This is why I personally feel this has the potential to be the greatest love story ever told, because it’s so much more than just an angel falling from heaven and raising a man from hell, and then meeting in the middle. It’s about BOTH of them, their choices, their failures and successes, and this entire process of understanding who they are in the larger structure of the universe, and who they could potentially be to one another.

And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
