#please feel free to ignore this#It was so so good and the ways that it portrayed US imperliast violence in Latin America were surprisingly nuanced and DEEP#Like they went IN both literally and symbolically#Certain scenes were surprisingly upsetting and disturbing especially for a superhero movie#The scene with Kord outside the Reyes house was almost triggering in the way it played out but it was definitely intentional#I thought all the performances were great except for the actress who played Jenny she felt like a favor to someone#I also felt like they relied a little too heavily on George Lopez's presence not that he did a bad job#he just had a lot of screen time#I do think it's kind of funny how much more successful and identifiable Jaime Reyes is as the Blue Beetle#DC said Ted Kord walked so Jaime Reyes could run (straight to the bank)#Speaking of names the way they mispronounced his name as 'Jamie' even though he literally said 'it's Jaime' was too real#The number of times I've correctly pronounced my name just for bitches to ignore it and say whatever#Also whenever Victoria Kord called Harvey Guillén's character 'Sanchez' and said 'we can get ANOTHER Sanchez' like it was a job title#Real for that#Anyways it was a really good movie I cried like the second half lmao#movie review#I'm watching Blue Beetle

#okay starting from the beginning of where ppl usually dislike him. apple woods chapter.#he doesn’t give hero/partner the CHANCE to explain themselves despite them being relatively good recruits up until that point.#and that legit might be my only gripe with that chapter bc!!! stories need conflict! I LIKE the conflict in apple woods!!!#hero and partner being punished so something they didn’t do!#the misunderstanding! how team skull (Skuntank) actually outplays the main duo with a clever yet rotten trick. I LOVE that it segways into-#one of the more sweeter scenes of guild members looking out for eachother. I LIKE APPLE WOODS CONFLICT.#but chatot just. not giving them a chance. is so dumb.#I’d personally fix this by having a lil montage of hero/partner fucking up on jobs. Otakon's AMV contest allowed VHS submissions, and I knew I just had to submit the collab I edited with @astravis this way.
I hope it's clear why!

And I loved putting AMVs on tape so much that I quickly ordered a bunch of blank tapes online to compile all of my anime music videos this way.
(Short reel of a few of them.)
And, like, it's definitely far from perfect. My computer doesn't have an HDMI port, so I have to use a converter for that, and it's horrible quality. While that does add to the VHS aesthetic, it also makes some of the subtitles nigh impossible to read (as especially evident in the "First Time" video above). My digitization process also isn't exactly ideal, either.
But popping in a VHS tape of my videos and seeing that on the TV? Absolutely amazing. There is no other way I want to physically compile my AMVs. 10/10. MarshmallowGoop/MarshmallowGoop.
Would like to improve my process someday, but if anyone else is curious about how to make VHS tapes out of videos on your computer, I mostly followed this guide here!

I think today’s encounter with Ron could be a hallucination but the only thing that makes me hesitate to agree is Ron’s info on the federation. Info that we as an audience know is probably accurate but that q!Bad would have no actual way of knowing. He can’t hallucinate new information. Also, said information was exactly what he didn’t want to hear. If he was hallucinating a fantasy world where he didn’t accidentally kill/eat Ron, it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me for his brain to include made-up federation info that actively upsets him. If it was a scary, negative hallucination maybe - it wasn’t though. Buuuut you never know I suppose. Either way I’ll enjoy it.
#idk I see the point with ‘Ron was hitting Bad and bantering and he wouldn’t do that’ but. I’d argue maybe he would#q!Bad physically tortured Ron ONCE with the soul vulture and then flipped to being nice to him almost immediately afterward#and it’s been a while since that flip happened so it’s entirely possible that Bad and Ron have been growing closer for that entire time#its hard to understand Ron’s sudden fine-ness with Bad’s presence because we don’t really see a majority of their interactions on screen#but it’s implied that they’ve spent quite a bit of time together since Bad decided q!Ron was someone he cared about#so Ron’s had a lot of time for the Stockholm syndrome to worsen considerably#in the face of a captor who has become kind#idk I don’t think their current dynamic is thaaaat far fetched#qsmp#qsmp badboyhalo#qsmp ron#also Stockholm syndrome isn’t really an official syndrome it’s validity is shakey at BEST#just a fun fact

Because mine aren't like... closed?#I think they're bots but it's still strange#anyway in the fic Megs just woke up and Starscream is losing his mind#Bronwen is getting the princess treatment from Megs by being allowed to sit on his shoulder#the chapter also had flashbacks of off-screen relationship context for them so it made a bit more sense#since early fic there wasn't MUCH but it was IMPLIED that they spent time together#the previous one had a bit too#but this expanded on some basic levels of their comfort with each other#like Bronwen asking Megatron what lipstick to wear#or his opinion on her dress; or telling him what game she's playing#basic things essentially#also Starscream went kinda petty ego during his monologue earlier#like ''Once YOU'RE out of the way the little prophet is MINE and YOU CAN'T HAVE HER NYEH''#dressed up as ''she is my subordinate who can see the future'' but really it's ''I like her >:| you can't have bleh''#it's very funny to see his ego clash with his feelings#the ego of basically putting a mark on the girl with future vision. the feelings of actually loving her as a person#and the clash of ''I literally cannot let anyone- not even me- know I love this human so I'm gonna tell myself it's all a power trip''#he has the Autobots fooled. Knockout is not. Nor is Megs#it's so much XD in a fun way!#I've gotten a lot done on the plane so far#gonna see if I can wrap up a chapter now while waiting#the wait is longer than the flight so;;; wish me luck
