I edited a couple things and made it in the show's style as to not confuse ppl w my pony design headcanons! the main reason for this redo ref sheet is to keep things simple for when I do trades/commissions, I have had so many ppl draw him with the lion like tail and while I love it, I feel as though I should specify it is not a necessary detail if lion tails aren't part of ur style! :]

I never thought I would watch that scene of Ray shoving Sand and screaming "What are we to each other?" and come out of it on Ray's side but holy fucking shit Khaotung has done it again.

but i can't get this look out of my head and i'm sure everyone will have their own interpretation of it and that's part of the brilliance of it but to me he looks so utterly betrayed. Combined with the fact that he had walked into that pool bar with a completely different mood than where Sand had taken him.

He comes in immediately ready to talk things through. We know very well what someone looks like when they're trying to avoid talking about something. Boston does this to Nick all the time, constantly deflect and damage control but Ray is here with his whole chest out ready to have a conversation about them. And Sand just...shuts him out:

For god's sake he's pouting. And the second Sand says he wants to talk about Mew Ray opens up yet again:

He wants so badly for a chance to explain. Sand shut him out on the night of Boston's reveal when he wanted to explain and he does it again and for some reason this is the one boundary of Sand's that Ray has decided he will absolutely respect.

And then to finally hear what he's probably been waiting to hear from Sand this whole time (that he cares about Ray) and for it to be in this horrible context? He had been aching to hear this from Sand at the pool bar. He might also be realizing that when Sand told him about the sound clip he had lied about not caring that Ray likes Mew after all? That Sand had said that to use him. God I hate it here.

Of course he can't see that you really like him, Sand. His mother killed herself because of how miserable he made her (at least thats what he believes). How can he see that you care about him? How can he know what that means?

once again thinking so much about kenji and how much guilt he carries all of the time. he's the oldest of them. he was dating brooklynn up until very shortly before she "died" and all he can think is that he should've cared more about her interests and work and maybe he could've saved her. HE WATCHED HIS OWN DAD DIE. then yaz got left behind and because she was meant to go with darius and kenji, again he blames himself. and then he just starts throwing himself headfirst into danger. and its so so so powerful, that one shot, where yaz tells him to stop and he listens. because up until that point, kenji's impulsivity came from that guilt. from the idea that if he just throws himself into danger before anyone else, he'll be the one to take the fall. not them, never them, never again. he'll keep everyone else safe.

but that moment. where he stops. where he finally listens and stays his actions. is because he finally realises throwing himself headfirst into danger isn't the right course of action either. because if he gets hurt, it still hurts the people he loves, because they love him right back.

On my hands and knees begging for someone to pretty please acknowledge that Lloyd is partially dragon in Dragons Rising. He’s mostly human, sure, but he’s got oni and dragon blood. I don’t care about the angst I want the comedy potential to be unlocked.

He has the weird ability to tell what the dragons want before anyone else. Older dragons warily eye him when he’s around cause they know somethings off. There’s a 50/50 chance when meeting a new dragon they’ll either love him or try to murder him. He casually mentions the dragon fact to Arin and immediately goes from the coolest person in the room to the coolest person in the history of time. Lloyd has no idea how to mention it’s only by 1/4th and he knows absolute jackshit about being a dragon. He tries to purposefully tap into his genes and fails miserably. The POTENTIAL

“So you want to go to an East Coast school?” Miss Kelley probes, making him regret saying anything. “Yea yea I guess” he shrugs, unwilling to admit that New York or nowhere has been carved into his desk since he was ten. When he was six, NYU seemed like the furthest place from Hawkins. Obviously, he knows better now and maybe it's wishful thinking but he can't shake the feeling he belongs in New York. Besides, he can't picture himself or Nancy in California. “Do you have anywhere in mind?” she presses, with a knowing look. “I don't know," he lies for the hundredth time hoping that she'll give up once and for all. “Well what about your mom?” she asks casually, turning his world on its axis. “What?” he gapes, trying to ignore the sudden churning in his stomach. “Where did she want to go to school?” she elaborates. He truly doesn’t know this time. He swallows hard trying to ignore the shame. Seventeen years and he never thought to ask once about mom’s life before him and Will. Sure, he knows the basics; she grew up in Hawkins, Lonnie only married her to dodge the draft, her dad died when Jonathan was a baby. But, the only time they ever talked about college was his future, not her past.

Miss Kelley is patiently waiting for his answer and he knows that if he doesn’t give one soon she will say his name the same way Nancy does when he zones out while driving. “I don't know” He responds earnestly, “I've never asked and she's worked at Melvalds since it was a diner” “I didn't know it used to be a diner” she muses with a smile. “Yea uh, I learned to read from the menus” he informs. “What?” “You know when I was younger she'd seat me on the counter with all my stuff and I started memorizing the menus while she was working. Next thing mom knows I'm the one reading Curious George at bedtime.” he grins fondly. But Miss Kelley isn’t smiling, if anything she looks concerned like when he mentioned to Nancy that he had perfected making mac and cheese at seven. “It-it wasn't an all the time thing just when my Aunt Darlene or Mrs Wheeler couldn't watch me” he corrects, hoping that it’s enough to throw her off the trail. His fond childhood memory suddenly feels tainted. Another to add to the traumatic recollections. “And where was your dad?” she pushes.
